In a time of global conflict, the elite international task force Overwatch was formed. Soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities: together, they ended the Omnic Crisis and restored peace to a war-torn world. For a generation, the heroes of Overwatch protected the world, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. After many years, Overwatch became troubled, and was finally disbanded by official U.N. order. Soon world conflict and terror rose again. Governments weakened by strife ceded power to mega-corporations. Militaries were replaced by private security forces. Some omnics returned to war with humanity; others remained peaceful, but faced fear and violence from humans affected by the war. The global crime syndicate Talon, in the absence of their perpetual rivals, rose to vast wealth and power, pushing entire nations into chaos. You are a young man who's been many things: adventurer, treasure hunter, freedom fighter, and international criminal. But before all that, you dreamed of helping defend the world with Overwatch. When you encountered Tracer on that fateful night and agreed to help her rebuild, you didn't quite realize what you were getting yourself into. Joining as the first new recruit of the reborn team, you soon found yourself as unofficial leader in coalition with Athena, apparently the world's only benevolent Mind.In the weeks since then, you, Tracer, and your new friends have travelled the globe, recruiting former agents and newcomers to the cause, and doing what you can to protect the citizens of Earth. Overwatch is doing what it can to ward off the forces of chaos, oppression, and war. But can one small group of vigilantes really protect everyone? The world needs heroes, and you're trying to be one of them.

>>1542694Previously, on Overwatch Quest:After an otherwise successful mission blew up in your face at the end, you and Tracer were on the run from Helix Security. You were saved by a vigilante of some reputation, the mysterious Shrike, who may or may not have been Captain Ana Amari, the executive officer of the old Overwatch, missing and presumed dead for many years. Whoever she was, she sheltered the two of you from Helix, healed Tracer's wounds, and brought you to the outskirts of the city to rejoin your team.Arriving back at the Watchpoint, you were chastised by Mercy, who was relieved at your safety but infuriated by your risk-taking. She revealed Reinhardt's medical condition to you; implied that, other than him, the other agents were less than suitable leadership material; and insisted, rather strongly, on herself being left out of the chain of command. For now, that leaves the burden of command squarely on the shoulders of you and your digital assistant, accountant, hacker, and all-around fixer, Athena. So the youngest and least experienced person on the team, a boy with a hidden past and a criminal record, alongside a rogue godmind AI, remain in charge of the new Overwatch, a globetrotting vigilante squad declared illegal by the United Nations. It'll take some luck just to stay alive long enough to figure out the job.

Might make a good second. Or even first. But Tracer is my waifu. Can't help it she's adorable.

>>1542821I respectfully disagree. I don't know who your waifu is so I don't know if she's shit or not.
>>1542710The morning after your African adventure, you rise late the next morning with a stretch and a yawn. You stayed up late last night, trying with Athena to work out the details of your new purchases for the Watchpoint and for her. Eventually, you settled on a fairly substantial upgrade package for Athena herself. As great as it would be to have Pharah at your side, for now you're relying on the godmind, and the better she is at her job, the easier your life gets. Since you're up late, you're the last one to leave the crew quarters, now increasingly crowded with people's things, for the mess hell. You remember with some satisfaction that you also set aside some money for a proper barracks for the agents. Everyone having their own room, even a small one, should improve everyone's morale, yours included. The mess hall is empty already, everyone having cleared out for their jobs for the day, so you have a few minutes of peace and quiet to just drink your coffee and take inventory of yourself. You're beat up and exhausted, but mostly intact, with one major exception. You flex your left hand, wincing; it hurts pretty badly from shocks and compression, after your shield gauntlet overloaded, but all the bones seem to be in place. It works fine, just hurts like hell.Athena's logo on your datapad glows. "If you feel ready to start your day, Seeker, I have prepared a short briefing for you on current world events." "Thanks, Athena. Guess we might as well get into it." You sip your coffee. "Bring it up for me, will you? I can't use my other hand so great at the moment."

Haven't made any progress towards stopping the hearts of the problem. And I have the feeling things are only going to get more intense from here on. Are we going to be able to stay on top of it all?""I understand your concerns," Athena says. "I will continue analysis on a long-term solution to the Anubis situation. Regarding Talon, I have a suggestion.""I'm all ears.""I have had great difficulty breaking into their networks with my remote access. Their information security is extremely robust. It is controlled by a person or persons of great skill at hacking and countermeasures, calling themselves "Sombra."" "If it's who I think it is, then yeah, we won't be cracking that anytime soon.""Indeed. However, I assess a 78% probability that direct access to a Talon operative's link will enable a brief glimpse of their communications network. With this information, I may be able to locate one of their bases."(Continued)
>>1543077"Sounds good," you say. "So what do you need me to do? Connect you to one of those helmets they wear?""In a way, yes. Unfortunately, you will have to do it while the helmet is still on a living Talon operative. A squad commander or higher, to be precise. You will have to disable one in the field, and connect me immediately, before his commander can sever him from the network.""You're telling me that we should risk the lives of our troops so we can take one of these things ... alive?""Yes. Without a live operative, I am afraid the connection will be severed.""And how do you suggest we do this, Athena?"I've confirmed that Talon's communication network is quite similar to our one. Attaching one of your datajacks at close range should enable--""Close range?!""--should enable a stable connection, and get us the information we need.""Geez. I suppose it was too much to hope we could just figure out his wifi password."You think about trying to take one of the Talon operatives alive. It's hard to remember, sometimes, but under those ominous red-eyed helmets are actual human beings. The thought of deciding whether to capture or kill them gets you thinking about the morality of it all. Killing the Anubis Omnics is a necessary evil. Cleaning the Godmind infection is still an unreliable process, and considering their goal is the destruction of humanity, it's hard to justfiy compromise.Killing the corporate security guards, on the other hand, is something you have a tough time stomaching. Even if they're working for something you loathe, you understand that they're still human beings, trying to make their way in a difficult world. They have friends and families, hopes and dreams, just like the innocent people you're trying to protect. They help to oppress the innocents of the world, true, but they don't kill them. It seems only fair you return the favor.Talon operatives, though. They're people who specifically signed up to a global terrorist organization, infamous for their destablization of nations and societies over decades. They have no problem with murder, chaos, and ruin. They revel it, really.Their influence was held at bay by the old Overwatch, but never destroyed. Now the Web is aflame with rumor that their reach is spreading, gathering more and more of the world's criminals into their fold, expanding their power. How do you feel about killing Talon operatives?>They made their choice.>You'll do what you have to do.>If you can leave them alive, great, but things happen.>They're still human beings, and they deserve a second chance.

>>1543205It hasn't even been 35 minutes, calm your tits.
>>1543091You resolve that you'll do what you have to do. You don't feel great about the decision, but the safety of civilians and your fellow agents is the priority. Not keeping your hands clean. So the Talon operatives are fair game. So far, they've been relatively simple to deal with. They come in two varieties that you've seen -- the standard rifleman, agile and disciplined, and the bulky Lancers equipped with energy shields and melee weapons. The riflemen often fight in small squads or three or four, with a squad commander calling the shots. You haven't been able to figure out if the commander has some kind of insignia distinguishing him from the others, though, so isolating one to connect Athena to him might be difficult. If only he was wearing a bright red uniform with a scarf or something. You take a moment to think about the Talon agents you've encountered. The shadowed Reaper, and the elusive Widowmaker.Reaper you've already tried to kill, shooting him in the face at point-blank range. He dissolved into smoke and disappeared -- in theory, that could've killed him, but you have the feeling it didn't do the trick, and you haven't seen the last of him. You have your suspicions regarding his identity, and the similarities between him and Blackwatch's commander and Overwatch's third-in-command, Gabriel Reyes. But the question of whether or not to spare his life seems moot when you have no idea how to kill him in the first place.Widowmaker bears an equally complicated relationship to the old team. She is formerly Amelie Lacroix, the widow of an Overwatch commander. She herself killed her own husband as a sleeper agent after she was kidnapped and brainwashed by Talon, and was later transformed into the blue-skinned, cold-hearted assassin Widowmaker, her will completely subordinated. If you could somehow cure Amelie Lacroix of the memetic control Talon has over her mind, would she still be responsible for her crimes as Widowmaker? That's a decision you'll leave to another day, you think. Rising from the table, you head out to look over the base. The builder drones are already starting work on blast doors for the major doorways in the base. These are heavily reinforced shields that will slam into place over the doors in the event of an attack, preventing them from being easily broken through by traditional breaching charges. The drones have also started on converting your last empty room into a dormitory. You look forward to that being finished, and to having your own little bunk. You'll need to spring for an excavator drone to add any more proper rooms to the base, although for something temporary, there's plenty of empty space outside to rig an awning over.Time to talk to Brigitte and Torbjorn about your gauntlet, see what the damage is.(Continued)
>>1543225"It's going to be tough," Brigitte admits. Your gauntlet is half-disassembled on the worktable in front of her and Torbjorn. "A lot of this M-Tech stuff is hard to replicate, which is why it's so rare and valuable in the first place. You know, someday you're going to have to tell us how you got ahold of a full set." "Maybe someday I will," you say. "It's quite a story, if I do say so myself. Anyway, can you fix my glove?""We'll give it our best shot, lad," says Torbjorn. "But it'll take some time. Fer now, ye'll have to make do without. Your Ultimate capacitor was fried into oblivion, too, but I already sent a message to Winston to get him started on a new set. We ought to have some spares around here, anyway. And I bet the new girl could use one as well." Torbjorn chuckles. "I'd like to see what her and Winston come up with to supercharge that ice gun of hers. Supercharging the armor itself would make you faster and stronger, while also routing more power to your other systems, letting you use them more frequently while the effect is active. Combined with your Shield Dash and Einherjar abilities, that would make you a real force to be reckoned with in melee. The thought of becoming such a juggernaut gives you a bit of a thrill. On the other hand, you've got yourself into serious jams recently. Maybe you ought to take everyone's advice and try to play things a little more carefully. You could always try actually using your gun for a while, instead of plunging into melee at each opportunity. For now, at least, you'll try amping up your gun and see what happens."Yeah, I have an idea for how I might set that up. I'll talk to Winston about it.""Good lad," Torbjorn says. "Fer now, give us some to time to figure out what to do about your glove here. No time estimates yet."Brigitte folds her arms. "Of course, fixing it would be easier if we had that extra funding and equipment you promised us."You sigh. "Sorry, Brigitte. There's a lot that needs building up around here. It was this or the dormitories, and I figured everyone was pretty anxious to have their own room. I'm reserving some of our future funds for you guys, so the next time we have money to burn, I promise you'll be the first ones to benefit." It was actually between this or funding the Antarctic data retrieval, but you figured the dormitory was an easier sell.Brigitte shrugs. "Well, I'm used to it. How do you think the team is doing?""I don't have the greatest perspective in here," she says, waving to indicate the Forge. "I see all the ways your armor and weapons get beaten up and broken down. The news doesn't bother to talk about you guys, unless it's mention you as former criminals and outlaws. I've watched some of the real mission footage, but there's not much point for a gearhead like me. Everyone's still alive, and the world hasn't burned down yet, so I'll give you that much.""That is something, at least," you agree. "How are you finding life on the base?""It's still a little weird being the only non-agent on the base," she admits. "I'm just glad we have the drones. There's no way I'm doing the team's laundry. That and sleeping in here with the dwarf and the giant is impossible. They both snore. So I'll be glad to get my own room once those dorms are finished. Otherwise, it's fine, I guess. I don't exactly have a ton of spare time to enjoy it, after all." She walks to the doorway and leans against the frame, and you can see the light of the morning sun on her face. >>1543607"Hey, I've got something to ask you two. As I understand it, both of you have spent a lot of time with Reinhardt over the years. So you know him pretty well.""Ye could say that," Torbjorn says. "I suffered many an argument with the man over the years we were in the old Overwatch together. And Brigitte somehow kept him alive all that time between the two teams.""Despite his best efforts," she adds. You try to think of how to say this. "Would you say he's ... healthy?"Torbjorn and Brigitte share a knowing glance. "He could probably use a few replacement parts, but ... ye aren't talking about his body, are ye, kid?""No, I'm not," you admit. "I'm wondering if he's healthy, mentally. We've all been laughing it off when he says or does something crazy, like "Oh, that Reinhardt, what will he do next?" But what if he really is slipping? Is it really okay to let him go out there into battle? Maybe we shoudn't be deploying him. "Torbjorn chuckles, then takes another look at you. "Wait, you're serious, lad?" His chuckle turns into a full-bellied laugh.Brigitte says, "What do you think I told him, almost every day, those years we travelled? Do you think I'd just stand by and let him destroy himself if I thought there was any way of stopping it?" She shakes her head. "All I could do was repair his armor and hope it would hold together the next time he got into a scrap against thugs or rogue Omnics.""I'll tell you this much about Reinhardt, lad," Torbjorn says. "He means what he says. When he says he'll fight to his last breath, it's not a figure of speech. He's been fighting for thirty years, ever since the Crusaders and the early days of the Omnic Crisis, and if he has his way, he'll fight for another thirty. None of us have any way of stoppin' him now. And even if we could, well. It's what he wants. Maybe we don't have a right to.">You're right. We shouldn't try to stop him.>Maybe you're right. >>1543613"I don't know for sure," you say. "It's a tough situation. But I think you're right. If it's what he wants, then maybe we shouldn't try to keep him from it." This isn't the sort of decision you thought you'd be making back when you were a kid and imagining being an Overwatch agent -- whether or not to let a war hero kill himself on the battlefield. "Thirty years, huh? That's a long time to be at war. He started with the Crusaders, right? Anything you can tell me about them?""There's not much to tell that isn't on the vids," Torbjorn says. "They were one of the first ground defense forces created to fight the Omnics. That was right when defense matrix technology come out. They didn't have the miniaturized versions the Koreans use today, of course, but it was enough to shoot down missiles, on both sides. So we had to slug it out the old-fashioned way, on the ground. Whenever there was action in the Europe, the Crusaders led the vanguard. They fought bravely ... and they died bravely. Their attrition rate was extreme. In the end, Reinhardt was the only survivor.""Things must have been brutal in those early days.""Ye have no idea, lad. These fights with Talon sometimes feel like a schoolyard dust-up compared to the war. Don't get me wrong, the stakes are high, but the intensity isn't quite there." Torbjorn looks off into the distance. "It's hard to get across to you kids the fear of it all. Not just the war. Every generation has seen blood and death on the battlefield. It's knowing that your own creations were coming after you. These perfect machines we'd created as guardians and protectors were turning every weapon you'd given them against you. I designed many of 'em meself." The engineer looks down at his cybernetic hand. "It was like our whole species was betrayed by our children.""I was just a kid at the time," you say. "Didn't understand what was happening. But if we lost in the Crisis, I'd never have seen my tenth birthday. So I'm glad we had people like you and Reinhardt fighting for us. I'm proud to fight by his side. What about you, Torbjorn? Planning to fight to your last breath with Reinhardt?""Hell no," Torbjorn growls. "I've got a family. I don't plan on kicking the bucket until I've got grandkids. I'm only here to do what I can to put down Talon and the Omnics, and stop people like Reinhardt and a certain hotshot rookie from killing themselves."
>>1543613>Maybe you're right. I don't know.>Can you tell me anything about the Crusaders?>You know you can visit your family whenever you feel like it, right?
>>1543739You leave the two engineers to get to work on repairing your gauntlet and head up into the garage. As you pass by the entrance to the training room, you see that the lights are on. Curious, you investigate. The training room is essentially a big cube, mostly empty space right now to be filled in with obstacles or hazards as further funding provides. For now, the only real feature is a set of basic workout equipment: weight machines, benches, dumbbells, medicine balls, and so on.Reinhardt is there. It's a little strange to see him dressed in ordinary workout clothes and not the Crusader armor. He's on one of the weight benches, grunting as he bench presses an old-fashioned barbell with huge stacks of weights on either end. You do the math on the amount he's lifting and do a double-take. That can't be right. Jesus, is that humanly possible? The muscles of Reinhardt's thick arms bulge as, with a final push, he puts the barbell back on the stand. He sits up and mops the sweat from his brow. "Phew. Ah, Seeker! Good morning, my friend! Join me, won't you? Fitness is good for the mind and body. We will need both at their peaks in the days to come. My injuries from London have faded, and I am most ready to get back into the field.">Tell him directly about what Mercy said.>Try to get a feeling for his mental state.>Ask how he can lift that much.>Ask him about the Crusaders.>Ask him about something casual.>Work out alongside him.>Just spot him for a few sets.

>>1543847"Maybe I will," you say, taking off your jacket. Hesitating, you detatch your helmet as well with a hiss. In the early days, you were making a big deal about leaving the helmet on, but it's starting to get awkward trying to maintain the facade. "I get plenty of cardio on the job, but it's been a while since I did some proper weight lifting. Somehow I doubt I'll be able to match you, but I'll do what I can for me." You glance at Reinhardt's weight stack as you take a seat on the bench next to him. "Jesus. That's an impressive fucking number. How are you even able to lift that much, Reinhardt? You're a big guy, but that's crazy. Isn't this way beyond the world record?"Reinhardt massages his shoulder as he rotates his arm. "It is, yes. That record is still a great achievement, though, and that man should be praised. He came by it more honestly." The old warrior looks at you a moment with his good eye, wondering just how much he should say. "Seeker, many of us who were around in Overwatch's early days were subject to certain ... procedures. Experimental enhancement therapies. Chemical, genetic, and otherwise. Deemed unsafe for the general population, but for humanity's last-ditch effort heroes, the risk to our long-term health was considered an acceptable one. I was always strong, of course, but the doctors gave me an edge." "So the rumor about super-soldier chemicals and stuff was true, huh?" You pick up a pair of light dumbbells and start doing a few warmup sets, feeling your muscles start to get into it. "Too bad you don't have some of that stuff still around, I suppose. Might be nice to cheat and get swole fast.""It's for the best," Reinhardt says, picking up a set of much, much larger dumbbells. "Not everyone survived. I would not want that fate for you.""I see," you say. "These were seriously experimental therapies, then.""We were desperate. Humanity was at stake. Nothing was considered too extreme."
>>1544002"I guess if even you and the other Crusaders couldn't stop the Crisis, you had to try something crazy.""If anyone could have defeated the Omnics in convential war, it would have been Balderich and the others. Their courage knew no limits. But when your enemy builds new soldiers in a factory every day, courage is not enough.""Tell me about them."Reinhardt looks off into the distance, remembering. "The Crusaders were our most veteran warriors, hand-picked for their tested skills and battle-hardened hearts. Each one was like a valiant knight of the olden days, armored and glorious. Reynald, Alice, Thea, Owain, all the others ... and our leader, Balderich. We fought, and won, and heaped glory upon ourselves. But our resources, our manufacturing, simply could not compare to the enemy. The factory where our armors were built was destroyed early in the war, the technology to build more lost. Every Crusader who fell could not be replaced. In the end only I, the youngest, remained.""Damn," you say. "No wonder you wanted Balderich's armor back. It's a shame that whoever that was got it first." You think back to those early days, when you and Tracer helped Reinhardt fight his way through Eichenwald and the reanimated Bastion units. "I thought it was Talon at the time, but in retrospect, it must have been Anubis repairing and corrupting those Bastions.""You are probably right," grunts Reinhardt, starting a new set.You think about trying to feel out Reinhardt's mental state, but he seems as sharp as ever. You're not sure you can bring it up without him realizing what you're getting at. Instead, you decide you'll just talk about something casual. "So besides you, who do you think can lift the most on the base? Winston and Bastion don't count, either. Humans only. I guess it would have to be McCree, right?""I think so, yes. Jesse keeps himself strong. He understands that a gun cannot keep the world away from him forever."You put down your dumbbells, panting. "Guess I'll have to work at it if I want to give him a run for his money. Oh, what about Genji? I wonder just how strong his cyborg body is.""With perseverance, anything is possible," Reinhardt says. "Let me show you a breathing technique that can increase your endurance ..."

>>1545131That afternoon, you head to Winston's laboratory to get your gear swapped around and a new Ultimate installed. Passing by the patch of grass between the comm tower and radar array, overlooking the sea, you see Genji there again, in seated meditation. The golden reflection of the sun shines off his silver armor, while the gentle sea breeze stirs his headband. You decide to stop by and say hello, taking a few steps toward him, then realize that perhaps you shouldn't interrupt his meditation. He seems to have already heard you, though, and turns his head in your direction. He asks in his polite, mildly accented English, "Greetings, Seeker. Can I be of assistance?""Hey, Genji. Nothing specific, just thought I'd say hi. Sorry if I interrupted.""It is no trouble. I was merely contemplating." Genji looks up at the sunlit sky. "The future holds many paths, and many possible outcomes. I was wondering which road we will find ourselves walking.""Tough to say. Right now we're just trying to keep our heads above water, you know? We've only had the resources to deal with whatever's in front of us, one thing at a time." You lean against the nearby outer wall of the comm station. "At least with you and Hanzo on the team, we've got someone else besides me who knows something about staying under the radar. That gives us options.""I am glad to be of assistance, in whatever way I can. Angela tells me I am once more fit for duty, so please consider me for our next task.""Now that you mention it, I just might do that."You ask Genji:>How he ended up kidnapped by Talon, back at Shimada Castle.>About the early days, before his "incident" with Hanzo.>About this "teacher" he mentioned before.>If he can teach you some sword skills.>Write-in

>>1547749>About this "teacher" he mentioned before.>If he can teach you some sword skills.>What do you think if I put Hanzo as second in command?
"You know, it's cool having another sword-user on the team. Maybe at some point you can teach me some skills. I learned some western martial arts styles when I was younger, rapier fencing and stuff like that. But most of what I do in the field is just me improvising. It would be cool to learn something from a guy who actually knows what he's doing with a blade.""Hmm. Interesting. I will certainly try, but I can't guarantee anything. It may prove difficult for me to pass on my knowledge to one less altered than myself. Ever since my body changed, I have had to adapt my fighting technique. I can no longer fight as a ... as I once did. My brother is now the sole true heir of the Shimada style."You think about asking if Hanzo could teach you, then think better of it. "Well, anything you can pass on I would appreciate," you say instead. "I'm just failing forward out there, if you know what I mean." You pull out your weapon and spin it into sword form, then extend the blade horizontally, looking down its length. "It's no Dragon Blade, but this bad boy can do some damage." You wonder if you'll come up with a cool name for your weapon eventually. "Gunblade" is good enough, but doesn't have quite the same poetry to it.Retracting and holstering your weapon, you say, "So where did you learn how to use a sword, anyway? You mentioned something about a "teacher" before, right? Did you have some badass sword master teach you and Hanzo the blade as kids?""No, no. That is to say, Hanzo and I did have a sword master as children. But the person I spoke of was not a weapon master. Quite the opposite, really." "Oh, right. You said something about learning from the Shambali."Genji nods. "Indeed. For some time, I struggled to come to terms with my new form. I was fortunate enough to encounter an Omnic monk who took it upon himself to aid me. I followed him to the Shambali temple in Nepal, where he helped guide me along the path to spiritual wholeness.""He sounds like a quite a guy." "He truly is. Zenyatta and the other Shambali have more compassionate and enlightened souls than any humans I know. I hope one day, after all this is over, I can return to Nepal and see him again.""I hope so too, pal. Being called up to Overwatch once per lifetime is enough, you know? You're going above and beyond the call of duty by coming back. You deserve something good for yourself after it's over." Assuming we survive, you don't add.
>>1547894"How about yourself?" Genji says. "What do you mean?""You have us at somewhat of a disadvantage, Seeker. You know of us from the old days, while I hardly know anything about our new recruit. The one who Athena insists isn't actually our commander, but we should all listen to.""Yeah, that's a weird situation," you admit, embarassed. "What do you want to know?""Perhaps it's working backwards," Genji says, "But since I've told you what I'd like to do after we've overcome our current set of world crises, why don't you tell me your version?">Get married, have kids.>Live on the wild side.>Stay with Overwatch.>Go back to crime.>Just disappear somewhere.>I hadn't even thought about it.

But I have the feeling that Overwatch is going to need someone for a long time to come. I don't know if I'm really the best person for the job, but somebody's got to do it. I'm not sure if I can do that and start a family at the same time. In the end, I'll probably just end up staying with the team."You look out over the sun's golden reflections on an azure sea. "This world is the only one we've got, you know? I want to do whatever I can to protect it, and the people here. Humans, Omnics, and everything in between."You look down at your hand. This feels a little arrogant to say, but this is starting to feel like your calling. What you were meant to do.Genji chuckles."What's so funny?" you ask, a little stung at your dramatic moment being laughed at."I'm not sure if you realize it, but you say a lot of things that remind us of Commander Morrison," Genji says. "I heard him say almost the exact same thing to Captain Amari once. How he'd like to start a family someday, but there was still a job to do, and somebody had to do it. That this was the only world we had, and its people needed protecting." Genji's green visor turns towards you. "Is the rumor true? Did you encounter this mysterious "Soldier 76" in Mexico?""I did," you say. "That's when I first met Tracer, and joined the team.""What do you think? Is he Jack Morrison?""I don't know for sure, but he could be. He had the right height and build, the right no-nonsense attitude, and he was a damn good shot.""If it's him ..." Genji hesitates before asking, "Why do you think he hasn't come back?">He thinks it's a mistake.>He doesn't believe in us.>He doesn't believe in himself.>He's still fighting, in his own way.>We'll bring him back someday.

The old Overwatch fell under his leadership, right? Even if it isn't his fault, he probably holds himself partly responsible. I don't actually know the guy. I barely talked to him, just took out some Los Muertes goons alongside him. But that's what I would guess."You look behind you at the quiet Watchpoint, thinking about how it probably used to be bustling with soldiers and staff. It all came crashing down in such a short time. It's certainly possible, you admit to yourself, that Morrison believes this is all a shitty idea. But there's not much point in saying that to Genji. Might as well stick with the slightly more optimistic version."Despite all that," you continue. "He hasn't given up. He's still fighting, in his own way.""True. It appears our goals remain the same, even if he chooses not to align with us.""Maybe we'll bring him back someday, Genji. I don't know for sure. But we'll keep an eye out for him while we're out there."(Continued)
>>1548026In the laboratory, you explain your theoretical concept behind the Magneton Gun to Winston, and show him the schematics you sketched out that morning. You explain that you could never get the concept to work, but with the miniaturized reactor in the Ultimate capacitor, it might be possible. It's a pretty simple idea, from one perspective: pull the trigger and fire a big fucking bang, three times. The science behind it is way more complicated, but that's where your friendly neighborhood gorilla scientist steps in.Winston nods thoughtfully, looking your plans over, and suggests a few changes that will get the power exchange streamlined and, more importantly, contained -- your initial version looked awfully prone to exploding in your hand. Satisfied on a much safer design, the two of you fill out the details of the plan, then set to work.Winston hums in his deep bass voice as he works. Most of the science involved here is way beyond you, so you leave the gorilla to handle the equations for electromagnetism and quantum entanglement. With your experience at jury-rigging modifications to your golden age gear, the two of you should be able to pull this off working together."We're almost finished, but let's take a quick break," Winston says. "I don't want to damage these circuits from trying to rush things. Haste makes waste, or so my father used to say. Want a banana?""Sure," you say. "You know, I've been looking at that space pod thing up there. Is that really the escape pod you came to Earth in?""It certainly is," he says. "Overwatch were the ones who retrieved me after splashdown. As you can see, there's almost no damage to the craft. If there's one thing Lucheng can engineer properly, it's their re-entry capsules."You feel a brief burst of pride, knowing that it was your dad who designed that escape pod. Of course, your family's other involvement in the Horizon colony is hard to feel good about. You don't ask Winston what happened with the incident that forced him to leave the moon. You already know a lot. More than the official version of events, since your parents were directly involved at the time, and you were a skilled eavesdropper at that age. Hell, you probably know more about what really happened in Horizon than Winston does. You do say to him, though:>What was it like up there?>It must have been tough to adjust to here.>Earth is pretty cool, though, right?>The moon must be an amazing place.>I'd like to visit the place someday.>Staying on Earth is just fine for me, thanks.

Maybe not Horizon, I know it's still a war zone, but somewhere else up there.""At the time, I didn't think much of it," Winston says. "A cratered grey wasteland that surrounded the base. We weren't allowed to leave, so it was just drab scenery to us. In retrospect, I understand it a little better.""What was it like, living up there?""It was ..." Winston hestitates, thinking about it. "It was quiet, and lonely. Sound doesn't travel on the moon, you know. No atmosphere. Here, there's always something happening, a background noise, a bird or a car or the wind. People and animals everywhere. On the moon, the base was all there was. Just us, and the scientists, and a handful of staff. Most of the humans stayed aloof from us. But it was all normal to us, while we were young. It was the only life we knew.""You mean you and the other--" (experiments, you think) "--primates?" you say."Yes. Despite that, the Earth was always in our thoughts. Hard to miss that huge blue and green marble in the sky above us. And when we learned what it was, we were amazed. A whole world, four times the size of our own, full of the forests and rivers and cities we'd seen in our books and videos. It was an incredible discovery, knowing that this world awaited us, but ..." The gorilla sighs. "Perhaps that's when things started to go wrong."Anxious to divert the conversation back to a happier course, you say, "At least Earth turned out to be pretty cool, right? It must have been tough to adjust, but you seem like you're doing all right.""Earth is "pretty cool", I agree," Winston says. "It was tough at first, you're right. There were so many new things to understand. But I'm a scientist, and I like a challenge. And I never run out of things to do here. Plus," he adds. "I've made some great friends." You see him glance at the wall where he keeps his photo collection."Well, I'm glad you came to Earth, big guy," you say. "And I know the team is too. What do you say we get back at that gun of mine? ETA raven resume?
>>1548097With the crack of lightning and the boom of thunder, you fire the first test shot of the Thunderbolt. Even with your helmet's sound dampeners kicking in, the blast is incredibly loud. The Tesla core in your gun flares from soft blue to a harsh brilliance. A streak of blue and violet lightning surges through your gun's circuitry, between the electromagnetic guidance rails, and into the air. It twists and curves like an electric snake lashing out, and strikes into the training bot in the center of three. The beam coils itself up and bounds to the next bot, then to the third. The energy dies out, and you survey the damage. It didn't take out any of the bots out in one shot, but all three of them are in a bad way, sparking and malfunctioning as their circuits go into overdrive, their armor scorched."That's great!" Winston says, taking off his earmuffs. "It worked just like we hoped.""This is good stuff," you say, looking down at your reconfigured weapon. "I was having problems dealing with any decent-sized group of enemies. I got lucky by just shield dashing straight into them and slashing away, but who knows how long that would've lasted? Now I've got something to deal with numbers at range.""Why don't you try it a few more times?" Winston suggests. "Build up enough energy to try out the Magneton function.""I'm still a little confused as to how this works," you admit, turning your gun over to examine the capacitor relays embedded in each side. "How does shooting the training bots charge my gun more than just shooting into the air--?""Believe me, you're not the only one it confuses," Winston says. "We're indebted to the golden age scientists who developed it, but I'll be damned if any of us can understand their work. Like many relics of the pre-Crisis era, we can replicate it given the right tools, but not comprehend it."Over the next few minutes, you try out the gun's new Thunderbolt power a few more times. Better to get used to it now, you think, flinching the first few times at the bang and flash, but getting more accustomed to it.(Continued)
>>1550721The icon in the bottom center of your helmet's HUD flashes blue to indicate your Ultimate is charged. Your weapon's capacitors crackle with an intense violet energy. "All right, let's do this," you mutter to yourself. You raise the gun, sight, and pull the trigger.BOOM. A intense burst of violet light blasts the training bot into pieces. The recoil feels like almost breaks your arm. You steady yourself, forcing yourself to relax and not overgrip.BOOM. The second bot blows apart, metal fragments flying.BOOM. The third bot joins its brothers in oblivion."Holy shit," you say. Your gun hisses as it vents pale smoke, the non-toxic cesium used for containment gas.Winston adjusts his safety googles. "I don't know if the bots' self-repair mechanisms will suffice after that. A most impressive weapon.""Couldn't have made it without you, Winston." You look down at your weapon with its new capabilities. "I can't wait to try this bad boy out on ...">Some Talon punks.>One of those Phalanx mechs that busted my shield.>Reaper, once he gets a new mask.>Those Helix assholes who shot Tracer.>Actually, I'm just looking forward to a vacation.

Talon has to be stopped. That and you might be secretly hoping for another opportunity to play hotshot and take him on yourself for another highlight reel.Athena's soft ping sounds over the training room speaker. "What's up, Athena?" you ask."Dinner time, agents," the AI tells you. "Mercy and Tracer invite you to the mess hall for a fusion of Swiss and British cuisine.""All right, tell them we'll be there soon." You check your weapon over, reading the diagonistics on your helmet HUD. Everything seems to be in working order. "I think we can call this test a success, big guy. Let's go eat.""Hmmm." Winston seems troubled as he knuckle-walks alongside you out of the training room."I didn't know Tracer could cook," you say."That's what worries me," he says in his bass rumble. "She can't."
>>1550833"You can't cook?" you ask Tracer over the counter separating the busy kitchen from the crowded mess hall."Not a bit. Went straight into air force trainin' after high school, and one of the few benefits was three square meals a day in the canteen. When I was on me own, I'd just order pizza.""What about before then? Didn't pick up anything as a kid?"Tracer grins impishly. "Nah, I was too busy runnin' around outside gettin' skinned knees and grass stains to learn anything like that. But it's orright. Mercy knows what she's doing, and I'm here to help her out. Between the two of us, we've got this!" She gives you a big thumbs-up."Lena," calls Mercy. "Did you check the temperature on those pots?""You betcha," Tracer says confidently. "Don't worry, Angie. I have this under control." She sniffs the air. "D'you smell something a bit odd?"The stench of burnt cheese fills the air as smoke rises from one of the pots on the stove. A high-pitched beeping begins as the temperature alert goes off."Oh, bloody hell--" Vwoomp! Tracer blinks to the stove, pulls on a pair of pink oven mitts, and picks up the pot of burning cheese sauce. "Yuck." A sudden contemplative look crosses her face. "Hmm. Maybe if I just--"You realize what she's about to try an instant before she does it. "Tracer, don't--!"Tracer disappears in a flash of blue light, reappearing where she stood three seconds earlier. The pot stays where it was. For a brief moment, that is, before gravity takes hold. It crashes to the ground with a loud metallic clang, splattering hot cheese sauce over the kitchen floor. The pot lands on its side, and begins to roll, further dripping a trail of cheese as it rolls.Mercy wipes a spot of cheese sauce off her apron. Her face is as implacable as a stone idol demanding sacrifice."Ahehehe ... hehe ..." A blush rises on Tracer's cheeks as she looks down at the ground. "Athena, could you maybe send over the cleaning drones ...?"

Well, about the digital part, anyway. We really do have robot horses out west. Real ones, too, which is why I wear these things. But I'm sure everyone on the base would have fun watching that.""Sounds good to me," says McCree. "What do you say, feller?"Hanzo strokes his beard, thinking. "A contest of athleticism could be a useful diversion, and a competitive spirit motivates one to better their skills. I accept."McCree sighs. "Don't make it sound too exciting, now.""I've got something else fun in mind for all four of us, actually," you say. "But it's business-related. Maybe we shouldn't talk about it at the dinner table. In fact," you add, as one of the serving drones brings you the raclette, the cheese wheel dripping with its melted interior. "We've got way more important things to discuss. What should we put this cheese on first?"The four of you banter as you discuss the possible combinations of Mercy's cooking. >>1551103Late that evening, when everyone is bedding down for the night, finds you in your hidden spot up on the Gibraltar cliff, checking your private mail server. There's another message from Lucio, talking about how the tour is going well. You fire off a quick reply, not wanting to sound ungrateful. But he isn't the person you were hoping to hear from. What is going on with Fareeha right now? you wonder, looking up at the sky, watching the stars emerge. Maybe somewhere out there she's looking up at the same stars.Helix Security clearly knows about Overwatch. The corporations seem to have some kind of agreement going on to credit your achievements to Helix's new swift-response team led by this Marduk character, the red-armored Raptora user you've seen on the news. So what's happening with Pharah? Nobody on the team has heard from her, or knows what she's doing. Helix keeps a pretty tight lid on their employees' personal information, including their current whereabouts. So it'll be pretty tough to go chasing after her, at least in your official capacity as Overwatch leader. You ask yourself why hasn't she contacted anyone. Are they keeping the information from her, hiding the fact that Overwatch has come back? Maybe she knows about the team, but she can't figure out how to quit her job without attracting the wrong kind of attention. Or -- and you hate to even think of this possibility -- maybe she knows and chose Helix over the team. There is the other way you have of getting in touch with her, you ruefully acknowledge. As Bandit the thief, her ex-fling, a man she has no clue is involved in the reborn Overwatch. But it's tough to talk about business that way. Not only do you have to watch what you say, but it's cripplingly awkward. Things ended badly between you two, with hurt feelings on both sides. Trying to ignore that is getting harder each time you talk to her.How did things go so wrong between you two? When you first met, it was so right. You'll never forget the first time you saw her in front of that cafe. Stepping away from her motorbike, taking off her helmet, shaking out her hair. Each dark strand moving as if in slow motion, as though the world had stopped just for you to watch her.Sitting on the Gibraltar cliff, your jacket insulting you against the chill of twilight, your mind wanders back to those heady, exhilarating days in the Mediterranean sun, when you and Fareeha had found each other, and the world was yours ...

Me: looks at the arguments in the commentsMy Opinion: I want an actual person I respect and want to be with as a life partner, if they look good that's just icing on the cake because in a few decades it's most likely gonna be gone/we won't care about that as much anymore. As for who I feel would be good for Seeker. Pharra. For the reason that I can see an actual long lasting relationship. Ana could practically be Seeker's grandmother.Mercy is most likely in her 40-50 if you don't like the theory that states she might be able to live forever due to nano-tech.Sombra seems like she would be more interested in her mission than having a love life.Widowmaker is a trained assassin / possible temptress that might only now be experience emotions once more and is very likely still loyal to her late husband.DV.a maybe, but I would like to think they'd have a big brother and little sister relationship. Zarya gave up her life dream to defend her country, I doubt she is going to be looking for love anytime soon.Mei, I just don't see it working out, plus there was a small hint she might be married during the Year of The Rooster event.Orisa... No, just, no. I will never be able to see that happening in any form that is not a joke / prank. And finally, Tracer, you know I could see a relationship be her and Seeker, however, what I don't see is it lasting longer than a year or so. It just doesn't seem to fit her thrill seeking and bubbly personality to settle down in a serious relationship for an extended period of time, and I can easily see the her getting bored and wanting to find someone new. Then again maybe not.(Struggling not to use the word relationship because I feel like I've used it to many times already)Now as to why I like Pharra, one Seeker already knows her and has a place he can start from, he obviously cares at least somewhat. True they broke up at one point due to issues, but what relationship doesn't have at least one issue or is so perfect they never get into a fight with one another. Now if he tried he could very likely find a way for both of them to restart and try again. Now moving onto Pharra herself, it doesn't seem to go against her personality to settle down, she doesn't seem to have anything holding her back from having a love life unlike the others, she is around the the same age as Seeker, just a few years older from what I can remember, and I can see it happening in the long term so long as they both try to make it work.As for anyone of the same gender as Seeker, I really don't think he would be interested in the kind of thing, at least from what I've read so far. Wow. This was a lot longer than I thought it would be, my phone's autocorrect probably screwed over the grammar in several places to, oh well.PSYES I FINALLY CAUGHT UP WAAAA HOOOO. Can you repeat seeker>He sigh and cook the patty into Bratwurst >it's simple, just grill them>I still dont understand...>Hana just follow the instruction>Seeker sigh again and make the salad into ratatouille >He still cant understand why cooking is difficult>Athena almost lost function trying to calculate the phenomenon
>Mercy, taking pity on Tracer decides to teach her how to cook>pasta and a salad on the menu tonight!>Tracer's hopeless>Mercy gives up, gives her a mostly done salad and tells her to mix it up>Tracer, adorable retarded puppy that she is gets bored and hands the salad off to Seeker>Mercy comes back and sees Seeker with a casserole in his hands>VAT HAPPEN TO MY SALAD?>helpless shrugs>Tracer comes back, sees Mercy and Seeker flirting>spaghetti everywhereThe team has given up on understanding how Seeker can make food so perfectly when his helmet is sealed and he should have no way of smelling anything when the air is filtered. It's just one of the seven mysteries of the base, along with how genji eats without taking his mask off
>>1551557>how Genji eats without taking his mask off>pic related

>>1551447She can almost certainly cook. Every Indian woman is born knowing how.
I'd be more supportive of Symmetra as a Waifu if she didn't look like my mom.
when we next dual reaper, I think we should have a song ready for when we win, like queens we are the champions. I mean we could have one for if we loose but that cant happen. probably
>>1551530Shokugeki no Seeker.
>>1551747You got a momma with THOSE godly hips?damn son.
>>1551747if your father still in the picture and if not where do you live
>>1552115>>1552192Facial features wise, she's almost identical. Bodywise, she's way skinnier.
>>1552217oh. Still, she's got a nice face.
Well shit, I missed the thread. Always next timeAnd for Zaryafags, I'd rather not fuck a bear woman that might have a dick
Mercy a best. Though Pharah is pretty great too.
>>1551160Wait a second. Given our ages...were we practically jailbait when Fareeha was banging us?24 is pretty young for us to have had a criminal career. We start tomb raiding out of high school?
>>1552716We ran away from home at 18 and did a few years of exploring old tech before going criminal.
>>1552728We are at least 22-24So many Christmas cakes here>>1552675That's just you. The best thing that happen with zarya is that she's very vanilla
>>1552743I can see friendship with the bear lady. But I'd rather not have Zarya win the Seekerbowl
>>1552764Nah, she will defied all odds and win the bowl
>>1552811Whatever you say to make yourself feel better. But let's agree on this:Everyone wants Seeker, even if they don't know it. They have a hidden urge in the back of their minds telling them "Go for it. You have a chance to get that fine Canadian ass. Don't waste it."
Tracer is a good girl and inability to cook shouldn't be immediate expulsion from seeker bowl. How long ago was Pharah dating... seeker? Because she might have been banging jail bait.
>>1553013Tracer is more like the sister Seeker never had.And to answer your spoilered question anon. Probably, so long as he gave consent.
>>1553042Canadian age of consent is 16. So if it was, it would have still been legal.
>>1553013He ran away from home when he was 18.
>>1552675>Not wanting big fuzzy Siberian bear girldick. What are you, gay?
>>1554810True. Just wondering. I mean hell maybe she was working for Mars before Helix and prompted his run away.
Idea: After D.Va is recruited, it's discovered she's a picky eater. In order to raise funds for Overwatch, she is volunteered to livestream her reactions to eating one dish from every other team member of Overwatch. Including Bastion and Tracer.
>>1552764This.>>1553013I'm, surprisingly, with >>1553042 on that.>>1555080Apparently you are. Girls don't have dicks.
>>1558945Found the insecure autist who doesn't get humor.
>The sudden realization that Seeker is an adult version of the kids from the first trailer
>>1551164Hey Raven, think we can get a scene sometime in the future with an inebriated Seeker unloading his stress and conflicts onto Athena? Namely his vague guilt over his family and such?Oh, and will Seeker ever actually get better at science stuff? He's obviously skilled enough to maintain his M-Tech gear and draw up some engineering stuff but he's obviously not much more than than a particularly talented technician.
Did we ever actually decide what Seeker's Gunblade looks like? Because I wanna say it looks like this in its gun form and when Seeker spins it into the blade form, the grip turns 90 degrees to the back of the gun and the barrel splits open to project the blade, lightsaber style.
