Hello and welcome back to Demon Overlord Quest!

Important Information:
Gneotho's Stats: http://pastebin.com/whRSLSHc
Important Ally Stats: http://pastebin.com/QUs6LWEc
Thread Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Demon%20Overlord%20Quest

Last time, Lady Gneotho, Overlord-in-training, made roads in with Rosen Queen Company to set them up with a permanent facility within her Netherworld: Potential X after first making some purchases. Along with that, Gneotho visited with former-general and all around milf Weth. There she confirmed plans to raise funds to Potential X by raiding another nearby Netherworld as well as the Item World of something she owned. Afterwards, she stumbled upon her ally, Kain and her childhood friend, Graviel. The latter of the two beseeched the Overlord to keep an eye out for clues on the whereabouts of her missing child. To which, Gneotho promised to do her best.

You are Lady Gneotho, Overlord-in-Training. You walk down one of your many staircases into the lower floors beneath the Main Hall. You are not just wandering around, however. You are here for the purpose of finding two of your demon allies. You find the Armor Knight, Dan (or Danielle as you are wont to call her) and Perciel, son of the late-Overlord before you, chatting. Staying back, you eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Are you really going to stick around with Lady Gneotho?" The obsessive Dan interrogates. "You aren't planning on trying to dethrone her, are you?"

Perciel steps back, motioning with his hands for her to relax. "W-What?! NO! That kind of leadership is far too much pressure! I have a hard time dealing with managing guard schedules. I don't think I could even hope to do what my father did or Lady Gneotho could do!" Dan relaxes herself a bit, her eyes still narrowed in suspicion.

"I'll believe you for now. But don't think you can woo my Lady just because of your fair features. She has much more refined tastes than that!" Dan folds her arms and turns confidently away from Perciel.

"W-what's that supposed to mean?!" He exclaims in confusion.

>Say nothing and check on another ally in the castle.
>Say something to Dan

Now now Dan don't be so harsh on Percy. I will admit he is very fair but I think you are too.

While you are flattered by Dan's devotion to your safety, you really don't need anyone to antagonizing allies. You walk up behind her and softly talk to her. "Now, now, Dan. Don't be so harsh on Percy. I will admit he is quite fair, but don't forget I think you are too!" Your words catch her by surprise as she jumps before spinning around, her face flush.

"Y-You were listening, Lady Gneotho? Oh my!" She exclaims, placing her hands on the sides of her cheeks. You chuckle softly and pat her head. Dan's cheeks brighten a bit more from your touch.

"Yes I was. I thin you should go easy on the poor boy. He just lost his father, you know. Plus, I can always use some experienced personnel on staff."

"Yes, my Lady. I will still keep an eye on him, though. I won't let anyone hurt you!" She bring a fist to her ample chest. Her eyes are filled with both obsessive love and determination for you.

sorry for the long delay work things happened and I'm getting both a raise and a transfer!

You meander through your palace searching for more of your comrades to check up on. The next stop is the dining hall. Peeking around the corner you see Mystery Person 14 and his school mates sharing a lunch together. They seem to be talking about something.

"Gneotho was talking to you about something during your fight at the beach, Dnumes. She was saying something about dating, right? What did she tell you to get you so flustered? Are you interested in someone?" Mystery Person's tone is displaying more emotion than you are used to hearing. In this case, it is oblivious curiosity. You stifle a snicker so you can hear the replies.

Dnumes' face is starting to glow a faint red as she stammers through words. Batael, who has spent this whole time trying to stab the demonic mouse on her plate with a fork pipes in first.

"Oh yeah! She's heads over heels for y-" Batael is quickly silenced by Apatet, who seems to be playing his role as wingman for Dnumes.

"She had a crush on the former captain, but that ended when you beat him into oblivion." Dnumes gives a relieved look to Apatet, who glances back with a confident grin. Mystery Person 14, seems to not notice the alliance between the two.

"I see. I apologize if I have caused you any heartache Dnumes. I am rooting for you in your romantic endeavors." MP's voice is just as calculated and polite as his movements as he goes back to his meal. Dnumes face sags wearily as she mutters under her voice.

"Good. I think I could use all the help I can get, you thick-headed moron."

"What was that?"

"N-nothing! Thank you for your well-wishes!"

>Say something (Dnumes -3 opinion)
>Walk in and talk about something else
>Talk to someone specifically
>Walk on by and find someone else.

>>Walk in and talk about something else

So nice to see they are good friends, it should improve their teamwork and combo chances if they get along so well.

>>
>>1560171

You smile slightly as you make your presence known. You wave and you are greeted by return waves from everyone, save for Dnumes who only stares at you with competitive eyes. Your smile turns from genuine warmth to smug knowing when you meet her gaze. After a moment for the wheels to turn, her eyes widened and the red returns to her cheeks. With a small "tsk" noise, she breaks away and starts eating her food angrily.

>What do you want to talk to them about?

>>1560521
You loathe to admit it to anyone, but you actually know very little about the Item World. MP brought it up and you think that maybe you could convince them to talk more about it.

As you reach the table, you decide to address the group. "So,as you know, one our plans to bolster strength and funds for Potential X is to enter the Item World." You start. "And I wanted to know how much do you know about the Item World and its functions."

"The Item World?" Dnumes repeats. "You mean the dimension that exists within every item, right?" You nod your head. MP speaks up next.

"Yes. And in every Item World, there are beings that control the power held within the item. The idea behind raiding the Item World is to beat these beings into submission to increase the power of the item they inhabit. Alternately you can convince these beings to leave their item and possess a new one of your choosing. Its a complicated endeavor."

"Plus you can totally steal Hell and new weapons and armor from the other demons that are there! And you can start the process all over again!" Batael pipes in.

"Wait. Items from the Item World have their own Item Worlds? And they also use Hel as currency like the Netherworlds?" Dnumes raises a point.

"Its... a VERY complicated endeavor." Mystery Person 14 gives Dnumes a stern look and the Fight Mistress drops the subject. "Does that satisfy your test, my Lady?"

>Yes. Thank you. (Suckers don't even know.)
>No. (What do you want to know about the Item World)
>Yes, ask something else?
>Yes, leave to find another question.
>>
>>1560607
Whoops that last one is supposed to be

>Yes, leave to find another of your friends.
>>
>>1560607
> "And the most critical question, how does one enter an item world?"
>>
>>1560616

Seconded. Also add how does one leave that place
>>
>>1560616
>>1560632

"Thank you, just two more questions. How does one enter an Item World and, more importantly, how does one leave it?" You rest your hands on your hips. Dnumes turns to look at MP as well, genuinely wondering that question as well.

"Apatet?" MP passes the question off to the Clergy. He jumps slightly, surprised at being addressed.

"A-Ah. Well, it takes a specialized Portal Master to access the Item World. You know Portal Masters are mages who specialize in teleporting demons between Netherworlds? Well, there a sub-sect of those Portal Masters who specialize further in opening portals to Item Worlds. How they do it is actually a closely guarded secret, but they are very reliable and can hold open those portals for very long periods of time. You are able to enter and exit through those portals." The girlish healer responds like an encyclopedia. You are starting to be very glad you decided to keep him around. Looks like all that schooling has paid off for the boy.

"Good job, Apatet." MP praises his friend and, despite his stoic, dour face, offers the Clergy a thumbs-up. Apatet just grins like and idiot in response.

>Good! Now then... (ask another question)
>Thank you. (Leave to talk to another group)
>Something else?
>>
>>1560847
>"As the one who suggested this plan originally, do you know of any Portal Masters who specialize in items worlds?"
>>
>>1560847

This again >>1560896

I don't remember item world gate keepers being ready from the beginning, probably s/he needs to be found first
>>
>>1560896
>>1560951

You wrack your brain, going over some of the staff of the palace. You aren't sure if the palace has a Portal Master, let alone one that specializes in the Item World. This is probably a question to bring up with someone who has lived here for longer than a day and 5 hours.

"I am unsure if this castle has a Portal Master. If it turns out it does not, where should we recruit one from?" You ask the group. Dnumes is the first to respond this time.

"How would we know? We're just kids. Honestly, you'd be better off asking that Anasael chick you've been hanging onto. She seems like the magicky type that would know that kind of thing." Just as much sass as befitting a girl who sees you as a rival. Not sure why, you've made it pretty clear you don't see MP in that light. Eh... youngsters these days with their hormones.

"That's rather rude, Dnumes." MP observes, though doesn't do anything outside of that. "But, yes, I am afraid I don't know exactly where Portal Masters train. The Academy was not very specific on that subject."

"S-Sorry." Apatet tags on at the end. He looks a bit like someone shot his cat. He must really be proud of his intellect.

You wave it off and make motions to leave the group to their own devices.

>Wait a little longer and talk about something personal.(MP, Apatet, Dnumes or Batael)

Let's see what kind of stuff we can do with it. Hopefully our world of hot babes and cute girls can become a reality
>>
>>1561046
>>1561092

You decide to wander around a bit more before pestering others with your questions. You know for certain that Ana and Weth would be busy with tasks that you gave them. Shulae you are uncertain of and you had just talked to Perceil it would be a bit awkward to try to find him again right now.

So for now, you just meander around your palace and get to know your staff. And by 'get to know' you mean look at them and they bow to you. Its a bit weird, but you could get used to such reverence. You walk by an open door on an upper floor (just above the main hall you imagine) and see a familiar, ragged cowboy hat lying on the ground. You hear soft muttering before a loud bang noise and some swearing.

You are a little worried about the guy. You aren't very familiar with him as a demon, but he did fight with you to overthrow Brynn. At the same time, you are demons. You come up with a compromise and enter the room.

"Floofers." You call out. "You aren't dead yet, are you?"

"Nah. Despite my best efforts, I'm still around." He rolls out from under the large magical device on a mechanic's creeper. There is grease and a cuts and bruises on his body. "Just trying to get this damned thing running like it should since Anasael is busy with politics. Honestly, I'm getting the easy job in this deal." He laughs a little.

>Ask him for a progress report on it.
>Ask him why he's still here.
>Ask him what he was like before the Wheel?

>>Ask him what he was like before the Wheel?

I doubt a mad doc (scientist?) like him was a gunslinger before
>>
>>1561407

Yup, let's do.
>>
>>1561504
>>1561555

You laugh with him, but inwardly you start to worry about Anasael. Was the Dark Council really that bad? To distract yourself, you decide to strike up conversation with Doc.

"I never pegged you as a mad scientist type. What were you like before this whole Wheel of Fate thing?" You ask.

"I really wouldn't describe myself as a scientist. That would imply I came up with theories and hypotheses. I'm more of an engineer or a mechanic, really. I can take what those eggheads think up and make it a reality given enough time and resources. But to truly answer that question, the Wheel didn't actually change that much. Just... took away power, really. Kind of an infuriating downgrade for me." You turns back to the machine while he talks. Seems he is the kind who prefers to use his time as efficiently as possible. "Gotta say this Wheel thingy is pretty dang advanced, but give me enough time and I think I can figure this thing out and we can all go back to our lives."

>"Can you get it to do what I want it to?"
>Break the bad news to Doc.
>Ask something else?
>>
>>1561704
Er, what's the bad news? I forgot.
>>
>>1561724
Brynn had set up the machine so instead of truly reincarnating, all extra power was instead transferred to him. There is no way to return to his former self.

You'd broken this news to Ana and Kain and both of them did not take it very well.
>>
>>1561704
>>"Can you get it to do what I want it to?"

If Brynn could get it tricked out to steal power, surely we could do something different with him. And no bad news, that's better saved for when everybody is present to receive the news and at a proper timing. The efforts to rebuild potential X would get hindered if the morale is low from knowing the truth
>>
I'm going to pause here for the night. I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Laters, man

Night.

Anyway, I think we should let Doc keep messing with it to figure out whatever he can figure out. Maybe he'll get something cool out of it. And we don't want to spread the secret too much, I guess.
