>Howdy partners. Welcome to CursedQm's GunSlinger Quest. This is a low fantasy, Post-apocalyptic quest where you play as Dermot McCade. Former Caravan guard turned Wasteland Wanderer. Last time we started off by murdering a group of bandit-boys and scalping their leader. We secured work on a caravan and met a mysterious Gun Salesman named Indrigo. We then had a harrowing trip with a cargo of firearms and a eventful trip back. We bounty hunted and murdered some bumpkins and secured our first Major Bounty.>Last thread>>1538564

You limp along out of the hideout, a trio of dripping scalps hanging from your belt as you adjust the fit of your new, thick heavy duster. The long coat is excellent for concealing any weapons under it and the treated, supple leather keeps the heat of the sun and flame away. You brace the small, heavy chest against your hip and load it onto the well laden horse bearing the wriggling Patterson. The unhappy creature looks at you forlornly as Patterson kicks yet again. "Knock it the fuck off asshole" you grunt, flicking him across the top of his head"Your not going anywhere but the rope.""MMMMPH!!" comes the muffled reply. You aren't sure but it sounded like a insult. As you circle around to slate your leg twinges, blood seeping down your thigh. You should probably do something about that.>Use small medkit on Leg wound>Use Bottle of Rotgut on leg wound>Rub dirt in it. Its just a scratch >Wound? What wound? Time to go cash in.

You root through your saddlebags, pulling out the Small, offwhite pouch you purchased at the general store in Daston. You pop open the top and shake out a small bottle of clear liquid, a needle and silky thread floating inside, a roll of cloth bandages wrapped tightly around each other in a compact roll. You peel back your torn pant leg and splash the clear liquid across the gash in your thigh. FUCK that hurts. You grit your teeth and run the needle and silken thread through the sides of the gash, pulling the flaps of skin closer and closer with tight stitches before you tie it off, wrapping your upper thigh in the cloth bandages before using the remainder of the thread to stitch your pants back together. >1 Small MedKit Expended.Hauling yourself back onto Slates back you make sure the lead rope for Pattersons unhappy steed is secured to the saddlehorn.>Roll d100 for travel back to town.

You cluck your tongue to Slate, urging the bulky mule to increase his pace. The belabored packhorse behind you nickers unhappily, Pattersons feet twitching as he attempts to struggle against his tightening bonds. The dusty track of Washers ranch appears before you as you circle back around the crooked Ranchers house. His fallen Ranchhands lay where they were shot, crows already perched atop their faces. You ride close by Washers body, spitting upon his bony corpse as you pass. The splatter of saliva startles the twisted raven perched atop his chin, a single clouded eyeball dangling from its beak."Asshole" you mutter, your leg twinging slightly as you spur Slate on again, a snort sounding from his large nostrils as he picks up his pace. The miles of dusty trail along to the main road are eaten up in a short span of time. You reach the main road before noon, your early start to the day your benefit. The packhorse has flagged several times as Patterson shifts his weight, whinnying softly as the man continues his efforts to wriggle free.In the haze and dust of the far road you see a trio of figures on horseback, riding hard in your direction. >Ride to meet them, Justice drawn of course >Ride to meet them, Guardian Drawn of course. >Sit here, Take a peek through your scope at them. >Get off the road. You decide to get off the road. Now.Urging Slate on you thank the fact that the haze is probably much worse in for them. You tug the lead rope, Pulling the unhappy packhorse as you hurry for a small ridge near the road, ducking low and tying off slates reigns to to a dried out sapling. You drop to the ground and crawl to the top of the small ridge, your dusty brown hat keeping your head camouflaged against the ground. You peer out over the road, watching as the men approach. As they grow closer you make out their faces, bandannas hanging from their necks. Its those three amateurs from the Marshall's office."Where the hell did he go Ricky?" yells one, a sallow faced young man "Thought you said he was coming off of old Washers with SOMEBODY on the back of a packhorse!""I see'nt him! He was comin out of ol'Washers with some hogtied fella on a packhorse! Still kicking too! I see'nt him with my Beenockllers!" says another, a bony man with a whispy beard and a pair of cracked spectacles "Then where the fucking HELL did he go? >Sorry amigos. Conked out on the couch. Shenanigans will continue momentarily
You crawl back down the ridge as the would be Bounty-thief's argue over what to do. You can't help but grin to yourself. This is simply TOO easy.Sliding down the ridge back down to Slate you pull your Rifle out of its case, looking through the scope to make sure its still in focus. Dropping to a low crouch you shimmy back up the ridge, poking your head up over the top and sloooowwwlly bringing the rifle up to bear while shading the scope with your hand to make sure it doesn't flash in the light. Settling the black crosshairs across the men you weigh your options...>Shoot the one in charge, without their boss odds are they'll scatter.>Shoot the big quiet one, without their muscle they'll be harmless>Shoot Ricky. Cause fuck you Ricky.>Warning shot. I don't know why
>>1558856>Shoot the big quiet one, without their muscle they'll be harmless
>>1558856>Shoot the one in charge, without their boss odds are they'll scatter.
You settle the crosshairs on the thin, sallow faced young man who seems to be in charge. He is viciously berating "Ricky", slapping him about the head and chest with his hat.You steady your breathing, the crosshairs coming to test in the direct center of the "leaders" chest. He finishes his tirade against Ricky and seats his hat against back on his head, leaning back in his saddle.BANG. The center of the thin mans chest is suddenly decorated with a small black hole, rapidly spreading a crimson spread against his stained shirt. He looks down in shock, shaking fingers touching the hole in his chest. He coughs a spray of blood and collapses out of his saddle, twitching fitfully on the dusty ground while his comrades look on in shock."What the- FUCK!!! Hes Dead Ricky" yells the larger one, his horse rearing in shock at the smell of blood."Who kilt 'im! Who deed it!!" wails Ricky, looking this way and that as he points his dingy pistol with shaking hands. You chuckle to yourself. The pair begin spurring their horses back the way they came, Ricky firing his cheap pistol over his shoulder wildly. The bigger man is whipping his horse wildly with the reins, drawing blood with each desperate swat."Can't outrun THIS, Pal" you smirk, bringing the crosshairs just slightly above and to the right of his head. Your finger rests gently on the trigger as you breathe. In.Out.In.Out.Hold.BANG.For a moment you think you've missed. Then the bullet reaches its target in a explosion of gore. The entire back of the bigger mans head explodes, showering his horse in blood and brain matter. He slumps bonelessly out of the saddle, hid foot hanging in the stirrup for a moment before his boot is ripped off.You whistle to yourself in admiration. "Hot DAMN im good"You slide back down the ridge and leap onto Slates broad back. The ornery mule snorts at you before resuming his trot, eating up the miles back to town. You ride past the thin mans corpse, his wide eyes already flecked by dust and flies, a shocked expression on his greasy face. Spurring Slate on you pass the now brainless big man in the road, the back and top of his head now a empty ruin, his brains completely scooped from his skull by the bullet. You spit onto his body and continue the ride back to town. With your early start on the day you make it before late afternoon. You wave to the drowsy guards at the gate and make your way into town. The scant few people on the streets in this heat watch you in shock as Patterson kicks and struggles fruitlessly. You hitch Slate and the packhorse onto the post outside the Marshall's office, dragging Patterson by his collar up to the Marshall's door. You knock loudly and the ever sleepy Marshall's voice drawls out."Who'zat?" You shake your head. Unbelievable. He was probably taking another nap."Its Dermot McCade, Marshall. Here to collect that bounty on James Patterson. Got him wiggling out here" you call proudly, tightening your grip on the indignant bandits collar.Without waiting for an invitation you open the door, wiping the dust from your feet on Patterson's jacket, dragging the bound man in despite his struggles.Marshall Weathers reclines in his chair, blinking sleepily at you."Got 'im live then? Didn't think you could do it. Well, folks in town love a good hangin'. We'll short rope 'im. Make 'im dance." grunts the Marshall. He regards you carefully before continuing "I believe the Bounty was forty Clinks? You don't take any offense to that of ye? You push open the swinging doors to the bar, stepping into the slightly crowded establishment. The bar is a two storied building across the street from the Sheriffs. Inside is a collection of shabby tables, clustered with men and women, playing cards, drinking, arguing. A long wooden bar runs across the entire side of the main room, a chubby bartender standing behind it. After a moment of regarding you the closest patrons return to their drinks and conversations. Rolled 1 (1d100)>>1567084>I need a job (D100)Don't be rude, introduce yourself, and mention the previous jobs you did for the Marshal and Mr. Stevenson."I heard tell that you'll be leaving tomorrow for a check-up on a ranch? If'n you don't mind, I can try to keep an eye on the town for a day or so, for about three days salary."Have him negotiate us down to a day and a half's pay. Also, does mentioning our previous satisfactory work get a bonus on rolls?
>>1567084>Theres gonna be a bank robbery tomorrow after you leave for the day
>>1567395...I can't even be mad. I'm just disappointed.
Rolled 42 (1d100)>>1567084>>1567395second
"Well Sheriff I just wanted to let you know about a robbery that's going to take place tomorrow when you leave for the day. I would like to offer my services to provide some discreet security at the bank" you say quickly and smoothly, finishing with a winning smile.Sheriff Owens stares at you, steepling his fingers and regarding you over the calloused digits. One minute. Two minutes. Sweat begins rolling down your back as the Sheriffs eyes narrow into black slits."Mister... McCade? Was it? While i... Appreciate your.... Information. I cannot help but be offended that you would seek to gather monetary gain from this... Potentially lifesaving information."You blanch, trying to come up with a counterargument."I wasnt seeking money from this Sheriff I was just offeri-""I DONT GIVE A FUCK WHAT YOURE OFFERING YOU SCALPER" he roars, leaning across the table"in this town I am the LAW. I am the one who keeps this town safe. NOT some flea bitten waster who thinks he knows how to shoot. The FIRST thing you did after getting your so called "information" was to try and make money out of it! Youre greedy kind has done enough damage in this town! Now SHUT youre greedy mouth and get the FUCK out of my office!" he smacks both hands on his desk and stands, breathing heavily. Seems he REALLY doesn't like Guns for hire.A pair of Deputies step around the corner, hands on their guns.>Leave. Now. Fast. (Go where)>Now Sherrif.... (HARD. Write in argument and throw in a d100)>Quickdraw the Sheriff (SUPERHARDMODE, D100)
>>1567796>>Leave. Now. Fast. (Go where)Holy shit guys. I leave and this crap happens. Let's go back to the bar and drink till we don't smell of dishonor.
>>1567872Cali you lost your Name! What black magic is this???
>>1567884Oh. Some other anons took issue with it and flooded another quest arguing and shit. Something about etiquette and namefags ruining the board. Figured I'd drop it and save the QM a headache.
>>1567891Fuck em man. You do you.
>>1567896I'll keep it up for yours and probably evil genius. It just nearly derailed the fuck out of another one. So yea.
>>1567904Really?>Rubs hands devilishly.What thread?
>>1567927What gonna curse random anon on a thread that's already archived? Hah. You gonna join in on evil genius and shoot down the stupid businessman Mr. Wolf idea?
>>1567954Are they STILL pushing that nonsense? Fuck me with a RAKE
>>1567954>>1567957What? I thought this board accepted Trips since it helped sort out who does what.
>>1567957Some picked Cipher which is fine I suppose. I'm just tired of let them underestimate us or let's wear suits. Bitch we stab people and blow up buildings. We're two or three steps away from drinking the blood of our enemies and eating hearts.
>>1567971I just did it for that thread, got tired of reading namefag this and that clogging it up. All good. How about that nat 1 on the sheriff?
>>1567983Fuck. That. Sheriff, we were going to offer our services as a WATCHDOG, not an attack hound. I do my business that involves shooting outside town borders, just thought you might want to know.
>>1567986>>1567983But nooooooo, had to assume we were going to be a mad ass crazy killer. Fucking 1s.
>>1567992I would have chosen the first option myself hah. We're pretty much only good at shooting and selling scalps.
So have we decided what to do?
>>1568031I guess my vote wins by right of the only vote! Woo!
>>1568031Gonna agree with Cali.
You raise your hands in surrender and back out the door. If this asshole wants to ignore your warning then it will be on his head. You stomp angrily along the boards towards the bar. Jesus this town has an asshole sheriff. You've met some Fucking characters in your day but this is ri-goddamned-diculous.Youre so pissed off your almost glad when Ricky steps out of the bar ahead of you, his narrow, sweaty face paling as his bespectacled eyes lock with yours.>Shoot him in the face (D100)>Stab him in the gut (D100+5)>Tomahawk to the forehead (D100+5)>Break his nose (D100+5)>Kick him in the nuts (D100+5)>"Hi Ricky, miss me?
Rolled 72 (1d100)>>1568467>Kick him in the nuts (D100+5)>"Hi Ricky, miss me?
>>1568507Oh, hey, a roll that isn't a fucking 1.Who'd have expected.Yay, me.
>>1568467Whisper "lonely ride home huh bounty thief?" If he doesn't respond "You owe me big, I take cash, or ass your pick" Then slap his ass and wink
>>1568507>>1568539I can mix these
>>1567891>>1567954What quest was this? I'd expect it on /qtg/ and maybe if someone said that names or trips were necessary for a quest that didn't have multiple player characters, but not much else.
Ill continue this tomorrow. Ill have more time to post then. Goodnight anons :)
>>1568467>>"Hi Ricky, miss me?
>Hey guys. Im sorry but ill have to postpone until tomorrow. My life just got really shifty quite abruptly and I need a bit to get my head on straight. Thank you so much for being great players and stay awesome.
