Welcome back to Dark Empire Quest, where you, the players aid the reborn Emperor Palpatine and Imperial Commander Alana Tyrna and possibly others as they fight to rebuild the Galactic Empire after the crushing defeat at Endor and the subsequent collapse. We will guide their choices, deal with the consequences of their actions, and work to ensure the Empire rises once again.

I allow between ten and twenty minutes for voting depending on the importance of the issue and how divided the vote is. If the vote is tied up, I usually allow an extra five minutes for a tie breaker, and if no one votes, I roll for the tie breaker (The will of the dark side).

I always try to incorporate (and encourage) write ins if they don't violate the spirit of voted decisions, though I may edit or tweak them to fit better.

I also am always open for questions. I'll just ask that they stay relevant to current events in the quest, or at least the near future.

Previously, two Dark Siders, Brakiss and an alien called Mi arrived on Splinter reportedly to investigate ties between your XO Lieutenant Roth Tierce and the Rebellion. Brakiss admitted that the investigation was spurred by your lieutenant's uncle, Reynauld Tierce. After declining an offer to stake your life on Tierce's innocence, Brakiss forcibly sifted through Tierce's mind for the information he sought, coming up blank. Now, Brakiss was turning his sights on you.

"What?" you asked, dumbfounded.

Brakiss frowned, looking annoyed he has to repeat himself. Not a good expression from a Komissar and Dark Sider sent to investigate your second in command on trumped-up charges of treason.

"I asked you what it is that you're hiding from me," he says each word slowly as if you may not understand. You watch his eyes as he talks, wondering what sort of wellspring of anger lurks behind them that let him act with such callous disregard for human life and decency. Only moments earlier Brakiss's compatriot, a quiet female alien, had left with your Executive Officer, too weak to make his own way after Brakiss was finished with him. Now, the Komissar was questioning what secrets you were keeping from him.

A thousand thoughts are racing through your mind. You had deleted the electronic records of your decision to use emergency measures to save the lives of Lieutenant Vells and his fellow Tie pilots. You knew Komissar Brakiss wouldn't care if you had saved the lives of some of your best pilots, but he would care that in doing so you violated procedures. You'd declined to submit your grievously wounded pilots for evaluation to be made into the cybernetic terrors the Empire called "Shadow Droids".

Your slicing job of the databanks was shoddy, you'd deleted a few other records at random to make it look less targeted, but any in-depth investigation would likely find what you'd done. Of course, the other possibility was that Brakiss could simply rip this information from your mind as you'd just watched him do with your XO, Lieutenant Tierce.

It wasn't clear what the Dark Sider knew, what he suspected, or what he was trying to bait you to reveal, and without force talents of your own, there was no real way to tell. Lying to Brakiss could result in him exhibiting another fit of rage as he'd displayed when he cleared off your desk using the force. Though, he looked exhausted after his "interrogation" of Tierce, maybe he was too weak to try that mind reading trick again.

Of course, you could come clean and tell the truth, though Brakiss may take no sympathy with you and you would be revealing thins he'd never truly suspected.

Additionally, rank has privileges. The only other person with knowledge of the cover up was the Chief Medical Officer, in fact he'd brought the situation to your attention in the first place. It would be quite easy to pin all the blame on him.

>Tell him everything
>Scapegoat the Chief Medical Officer

A couple things: First, I know these games usually start slow, so I'm going to give extra time to this vote for players to pick up since it's so important. Secondly, a correction. Last session I erroneously called Brakiss an Inquisitor. He's not, he's a Komissar.

I'm just a bit confused on what you DON'T want to tell him. Using those cybernetics instead of submitting the pilots for evaluation is the problem.

Do you mean you won't tell them about altering the logs?
>>
>>1575938
Nah, Nobody but us knows about the logs. The pilots got the cybernetics because we had to make room for 'new and fresh' medical supplies due to our name and what we constantly do.

I'm trying to dodge the fact we HID our bad attempts, by saying that corruption normally happens and we we're already doing said thing anyway. Why hide it?

"I won't pretend to know how you're . . . Gift works," you say, "But you're probably picking up on the incident with the cybernetics," you say, as casually as possible.

Brakiss tilts his head, "Cybernetics? Tell me about it."

"After my engagement at Trellen I lost just about every Tie I had," you explain, "Well I had to fish a few of my pilots out of the void. To cut a long story short, I provided them with cybernetic prosthetics where necessary without proper authorization." You spread your hands as if to say what can I say? "It's part of the reason I took this deal with Luar, I'm just trying replenish the supplies I used."

Brakiss stares at you a moment. "Commander Tyrna, to begin with, I want to thank you for being so forthcoming, you make my job easier when you tell the truth." He plants his palms on your desk and leans forward, looming over you. "So, the short of it is you short-changed the empire to save some friends? Which, I'll remind you is a violation of protocol and an abuse of your position."

"I wouldn't categorize this as saving my friends," you say, as politely as possible, "More of . . . Protecting my assets. These are some of my best pilots and I need to keep them flying."

Brakiss smirks, "Well, isn't that pragmatic of you." he turns away, his back to you, "Okay, so they're all repaired now. You've replaced the stock of medical supplies, on your own initiative right. Now harm done?"

You swallow, "I don't believe so. Everything has been returned status quo, plus my pilots are in fighting condition."

Brakiss turns back around, displeasure marring his face, "Ah, that's a pleasant thought. Any betrayal of the Empire can simply be glossed over with a little backroom dealing. In fact, why not sell this ship to the Hutts and bring back a few old Dreadnoughts in its place? No damage done."

"I don't think the situation-" you being.

"The problem is," Brakiss interrupts, "Is you haven't thought about much beyond your ship and your pilots to consider the needs of the empire." he takes a long breath, "Personally, I don't care if your pilots live or die, or what you have to do to keep it that way. But you've violate protocol. We can't have that."

Silence hangs heavy between the two of you.

Brakiss straightens up and crosses his arms. "So tell me, Commander, how do you think you should be punished for this? I assume you'll say execution is off the table given our crippling shortage of experienced officers. Perhaps demotion will strike your sensibilities more. Or maybe transferring you to an assignment less cushy that garrison duty in Kuat orbit."

"I've proved my devotion to the Empire through trial by fire before. If I need to do so again I won't shy away from doing my duty."

Brakiss chuckles, "Well, it's hardly a punishment if you volunteer for it, now is it? Fine, you want to fight? I'll see that it happens." the finality of his tone worries you.

"Whatever you think is just," you reply.

"Justice," Brakiss repeats, "Justice would be a job posting that doesn't have me shaking down minor nobles and mid-level officers over petty offenses. We talked about merit in the Empire earlier? I can tell you Commander, there is no Merit in the Empire."

You don't answer, not sure what to say, but keep your gaze fixed on him.

Brakiss continues, getting back on topic "Experience has shown that, much like the contents of your desk, the aftermath of an investigation into loyalty leave some cleaning up to do. As much as I'd love to stay on your ship and look over your shoulder at everything you do, I don't have time for that. Instead, I'll be leaving Mi behind to keep things in order while I'm gone. I expect that you'll treat her with the same respect you'd give me?"

"Of course," you reply, wondering how an alien Dark Sider and Komissar was expected to interface with you and your crew.

"She'll be given use of the executive suite on board until she deems her investigation complete. Are we clear?"

Perfectly clear, sir.

If I may make an observation -You say there is no merit in the Empire. On that I must respectfully disagree. There is no merit without initiative, and initiative is one thing I showed when I saved my men.

There is time and place for protocol, and
protocol, like a standard tactics manual, is important.

But the best officers are flexible, they adapt to situations to get the maximum advantage possible.

I was serving the greater interests of the Empire when we saved our pilots. The policy that all wounded pilots should sacrificed a shadow droids is flawed, it should be down to the commander's discretion.

I know nothing of the force, but perhaps your own merit could be better recognized if you took you took the initiative more and placed less emphasis on protocol. The Empire will recognize talent and intelligence if you have the courage to act with your own initiative for its glory.

"Perfectly clear, my lord," you reply. "Though, if I may make an observation- You say there is no merit in the Empire. On that I must respectfully disagree."

Brakiss does not immediately silence you, so you continue.

"There is no merit without initiative, and initiative is one thing I showed when I saved my men. There is time and place for protocol, and protocol, like a standard tactics manual, is important. But the best officers are flexible, they adapt to situations to get the maximum advantage possible."

"What are you driving at, Commander?" Brakiss asks.

After a breath you continue, "I was serving the greater interests of the Empire when we saved our pilots. The policy that all wounded pilots should sacrificed as Shadow Droids is flawed, it should be down to the commander's discretion." Your point made, you press on. "I know nothing of the force, but perhaps your own merit could be better recognized if you took you took the initiative more and placed less emphasis on protocol. The Empire will recognize talent and intelligence if you have the courage to act with your own initiative for its glory."

Brakiss stares at you, "Commander," he says, "You're clearly a smart and very brave woman, so I'll be cordial with you. I do not appreciate career advice from anyone beneath my own station."

For a moment, he looks ready to as soon break your neck as argue with you. Then, his face changes. "Though, this Shadow Droid program, you find it damaging to crew morale?"

You hesitate just a moment, "Yes, my Lord I do."

Brakiss considers this, "Did you voice these concerns when you tested this program?"

You declined to tell Brakiss about the intimidation you felt to deploy this weapon, "I did, my Lord. Through official channels."

"And do you feel that Ap-Llewff listened to your concerns and acted on them appropriately?"

Ap-Llewff, the Dark Sider who helmed the Shadow Droid deployment program had since been promoted to lead the Kommisari, over, you suspected now, Brakiss.

Indeed.

I hope we avoid the temptation to use Palpy as an ace in the hole to bail out Alana. We resisted the temptation to have him gift Alana a super upgraded star destroyer, and I hope we can resist having him protect her from political missteps.
>>
"No, my Lord. If he had, we wouldn't be speaking now."

"Great," Brakiss says, "I want an official report from you and your medical officer to that effect. 'Shadow Droid reclamation hurts morale and Ap-Llewff did not listen to our concerns. Do that-" he gives you a broad smile, "And I'll tell Mi to go easy on you."

"Yes, my Lord."

"Tell me, would it hurt to have a friend in the Komissari?" he asks.

"No, my Lord." you give him as genuine a smile as you can under the circumstances.

And just like that you entered Dark Side politics. A realm quite foreign to you. The post-Endor collapse and governmental purge made the Empire a much smaller place. You supposed a Commander like you was just that much closer to the Emperor himself.

"I'll take that report to the Imperial council and see if I can get it brought to the Emperor. Until I do though, I expect you to follow the protocols set in place."

"Yes, Lord. Of course," you knew the consequences of backing the wrong side in military and aristocratic politics, but you weren't sure what may be in store for you as far as the Dark Side was concerned. No matter, you'd faced Turbolaser fire head on. You would do what it took to secure a better place for the men and women in your crew.

"Brakiss turns, his cape swirling behind him, marching to the door to leave. He stops as it slides open. "You'll still be transferred to Cal-Seti."

The name is familiar to you, you recall it housing some kind of minor depot or other military facility.

"The Brentaal navy is gathering there. You'll be joining Admiral Lobkin against the Yevetha." Brakiss pronounces the name with a mixture of malice and amusement, like one might discuss a rapid Womp rat. He smiles as if he was recalling a fond memory, "They say those they don't torture to death they keep as slaves." He paused again before looking back to you, "I wonder which they'd like to do to you, Commander." and then he leaves.

You lean back in your chair with a sigh of relief. Out of immediate danger, but once again, headed for trouble. The whole assignment was an unknown to you. Admiral Lobkin was as much a mystery as the forces of Brentaal. Both fought as the servants of warlords, the late "High Admiral" Reddrin. To that end, neither was really truly "Imperial" in your mind. That was also without mentioning your enemy.

The Yevetha.

Genocidal xenophobes that made the Empire's Humano-centrist policies look benevolent to the less fortunate races. They had been deemed unusable as productive members of the Empire, fit only to serve as slaves performing technical work on naval vessels. Little was known about them after they rebelled during the Collapse, even less known by you. Your experience was fighting Rebels, their methodologies were familiar to you. It remained to be seen how the Yevetha fought, or even if they would fight.

You had to get Splinter and the task force ready to move as soon as possible.

"Tierce," you said the name aloud, almost forgetting your Executive Officer. He had been in rough condition when the Dark Sider called Mi had lead him out of the room, and you would likely need his help to get everything functioning. You stood up, kicking aside the items Brakiss had swept from your desk, and made your way to Sick Bay.

***

As the turbolift doors opened, you were surprised to find Lieutenant Vells waiting, looking out of place out of his black flight suit, instead wearing a jumpsuit the medbay provided.

"What are kriffing Komissars doing on this ship?" he said, his voice low, "And why did one of them cart in Tierce looking like he fought a Gundark barehanded and lost?"

You collect yourself, "And I'm glad to see you're alive, Lieutenant Vells."

"Well, no thanks to the Empire, huh? I heard you had to pull some strings to keep me from ending up like Navid, crammed into one of those kriffing Shadow Droids."

"Lieutenant, if I wanted to hear your opinion on the situation, I'd give it to you," you reply. "You will watch your mouth, your actions, and your thoughts for as long as these Komissars are on board. Clear?"

Vells chews his lip a moment, "Yes, ma'am."

You sigh, "Vells, if you saw what they did to Tierce . . . You wouldn't be so flippant."

"I understand ma'am."

"But yes, I did pull some strings, and not just for you, but the entire TIE advanced squadron. Which is partially the reason for all these 'kriffing Komissars' on the ship, if you take my meaning."

Vells eyes widen as you talk, obviously impressed with your bravery in going against Imperial protocol.

"I don't have use for my best pilots being inside a bloody droid. You risk your lives every time you fly out there. As long as you continue the same level of performance protecting you is the least I, or any true captain, could do," you add.

"Ma'am, I appreciate it. And my men do too."

"I could hardly ask my crew to go into battle alongside me if I were not willing to do the same for them. But keep this strictly between you and me. We will have Lady Mi with us for a while. We will talk later."

Vells gives you a salute that you return, and he sets off down the corridor, pausing to ask a medical droid where another of his pilots is. As he walks, you note the limp he now sports, the heavy steps with his left leg. Telltale signs of a new prosthetic. Here was a man who, when you first assumed command over him, called you a 'little girl' now willing to risk his life on your word, who had his leg shot off and floated dying in the cold, dead vacuum of space because of that word. In your professional opinion, the Empire needed more men and women like Vells. You wondered how you'd get along if he were ever killed.

Pushing the thought from your mind, you continue through the medical ward until you find Tierce, sitting in a chair, looking okay, if dazed, holding a gauze bandage to his nose to staunch a trickle of blood. His eyes meet yours, tired, afraid.

Beside him, the Komissar, the one Brakiss called Mi. Her large, black eyes catch yours and she crosses to meet you before you reach Tierce.

"Commander Tyrna," she says in very precise, if accented, Basic. "I am Meyde Mi, I will serve as the Emperor's eyes aboard this vessel."

As she talks, you realize that while you know nothing of her species, let alone what species she is at all, you can recognize she seems quite young.

"Nobody likes having their every move watched so closely, but that's to be a given, my Lady. I'll simply have to get used to drinking my coffee a bit faster," you finish with a humorless smile.

Mi says nothing, only stares for a moment. "I'll let you see your lieutenant. I will be in my suite and I will join you when we are departing."

You say nothing and Mi leaves, drawing looks from the medical personnel nearby. Now, finally, you are free to talk with Tierce. You come to a halt just a few feet from where Tierce sits, he begins to struggle to his feet.

"Please, keep your seat, Lieutenant."

"Ma'am."

"How are you feeling, Lieutenant?"

"Like someone was drumming on my head with a hydrospanner," Tierce replies. "Sorry Commander, I tried to hold myself together."

"There's nothing to apologize for," you reply, "I'm not so sure you had any real options."

"What did they want? They think I'm working for the rebels?" he sounds hurt at the thought.

"Honestly, I suspect that your Uncle is doing this to get back at me for getting your cousin Denvis axed from command."

"Or maybe getting back at me for supporting you, I see," Tierce replies, his voice heavy. "I'm sorry for getting you mixed up in family politics, Commander."

"Nothing I'm not used to, I assure you," you give him what you hope is a reassuring smile, the knowledge that you could have prevented him this anguish if you'd staked your life on his innocence gnaws at you still.

"I wish I was as cavalier as you about this mess," he says. "Uncle Reynauld is a snake, he won't stop until he's weaseled you out of the picture. He's not high up the ladder rank-wise, but he has a lot of powerful connections."

"So do I," you say.

He chuckles, "Okay, so we're going to Cal Seti then?"

"To fight Xenos," you reply.

"So we're missing Foundry then?"

"I don't think that was in the cards for us."

Tierce chuckles, pulling away his bandages to verify that his nose had stopped bleeding. "Okay then, Cal-Seti it is."

As far as I know, they can only do Concussion missiles.

Tie Bombers can carry heavier ordnance though, they are appropriately armed.

You don't have first hand experience with them, but most will be rookies.

Your Avenger squadrons will have veterans, as will your bombers. Plus, the Shadow Droids which are . . . sort of veterans?

You mentally run the figures of your task forces armaments as you make the trip to Turmoil by shuttle, wishing you had more of everything. Your Avengers had proved themselves invaluable in your last engagement, finally you were able to meet Rebel stunt fighters toe-to-toe. But now you were again saddled with two squadrons of rookie Tie/LN pilots, and some of your Avenger pilots didn't have the experience you were hoping for. Still, you had Vells and many of his pilots, and a squadron of those infernal Shadow Droids, not to mention your bombers who had survived Trellen by the skin of their teeth and seemed capable of pulling off miracles.

Now, there was one last unknown you could hammer out. Captain Sesstrix.

She's there to great you as you step aboard her new command, the Lancer-Class frigate Turmoil.

"Commander Tyrna, an honor to have you aboard, ma'am!" she gives you an enthusiastic salute followed by a handshake. "My XO Lieutenant Dymos I think you know."

You recognize the name, but not the face. Dymos was the ensign in charge of Turmoil's engineering department when the mutiny broke out, he managed to keep his section under control and was instrumental in regaining control of the ship.

"You return the newly-minted Lieutenant's salute, "Familiar with his reputation, but we've never had the pleasure of meeting," you say.

"The pleasure is mine, Commander," you immediately recognize a fellow Byssian, your accent is easily recognizable to one another.

"I imagine you've come to shake down the ship," Sesstrix says, "Meet the new girl?"

"Yes, something like that," you say.

"Right, well she's no star destroyer, but Lancer's do have a briefing room," Sesstrix says, "Dymos, take the bridge."

"Ma'am," he replies and practically disappears on his way to the helm.

"Commander, this way." Sesstrix leads you through the narrow corridors of her Lancer, not too long ago stained with blood and marked with blaster fire from an abortive attempted at mutiny by a strong contingent of the ships conscripted personnel.

You take a seat at the small conference table while Sesstrix sits across from you, wide eyed, the hint of a smile on her face, hands classed attentively on top of the table. "Now," she says, "What is it you would like to know?"

I'm sure lieutenant Dymos has made you aware, but there was previously a mutiny aboard this ship. Although it was put down at significant cost, the roots of rebellion may have grown deep.

This will not be an easy command. You will need to unify the men and turn this vessel into a fighting machine worthy of the Empire. I will provide you what support I can, but I cannot favor you over my other commanders. I advise you to listen to Dymos, for he knows this ship well and has proven a capable leader, but ultimately all decisions will rest with the captain.

I took you aboard because you showed initiative, something many commanders lack. It bodes well for your future. However, to earn my complete respect and trust you must win the crew and prove your acuity and skill in battle. I hope you can rise to the challenge.

"Tell me about yourself. I like to know those under my command and I know very little about you other than that you very much wish to serve under me."

"Of course," Sesstrix says, beaming. "I went to the Imperial Academy on Anaxes because of my parents connections. I graduated and served as a line officer in varying capacities. I was with Admiral Zahn's forces at Endor during the collapse. I'm sure you know what it's like being a female in the navy, I didn't start seeing promotion until afterward when everyone who knew what they were doing died or deserted. I was at Coruscant and I'd heard about how you took on two Imperial-Class at once. That was when I realized the playing field really was open and I didn't have to settle for being a line officer, I could go for a command position."

"I'm sorry, but where are you from if you don't mind me asking," you interrupt.

"Of course," Sesstrix looks embarrassed, "I didn't mean to gloss over that, I'm from Commenor. My parents run an interstellar trading firm there."

Commenor, you knew, was still behind enemy lines, under Rebel control. "I'm sorry to hear it, Captain. Have you heard from your parents?"

Sesstrix's smile falters and she shakes her head, "No."

"I'm sure that holonet communications can still reach the planet despite the war," you say.

"Thank you, ma'am but, I'd just as soon not be sending transmissions to an enemy-controlled world."

You understood her concern. Things like that, if found out by Imperial Intelligence or the Komissari would arouse suspicion and could hamper an already stunted career.

"They're tough people. You have to be to work that business, I'm not concerned about them. But thank you."

You nod for her to continue. "Anyway, after Coruscant, I hounded my captain for recommendation for command. He took quite a lot of convincing, but I finally got a Strike-Class, that's how you started out as I understand."

You nod, "A Strike is a good place to start a career. I'm sorry I've got you running a Lancer."

Sesstrix shakes her head, "This is a step up," she says. "You're going places I think Commander. I've got a feeling about you. If I follow you I'm bound to as well."

"I hope your confidence pays off, Captain," you reply. "Now, I'm sure lieutenant Dymos has made you aware, but there was previously a mutiny aboard this ship."

"Yes, ma'am. I'm well aware. I had smaller issues on board my own vessel at the time," Sesstrix replies, suddenly looking very serious.

"Although it was put down at significant cost, the roots of rebellion may have grown deep. This will not be an easy command. You will need to unify the men and turn this vessel into a fighting machine worthy of the Empire. I will provide you what support I can, but I cannot favor you over my other commanders. Sesstrix nods as you talk.

"I took you aboard because you showed initiative, something many commanders lack. It bodes well for your future. However, to earn my complete respect and trust you must win the crew and prove your acuity and skill in battle. I hope you can rise to the challenge."

Again, her smile returns, "Absolutely, ma'am. I'm up for it."

"Well that's good to hear captain. I said it before, I'll say it again: I hope someday to see you in a command much higher than this."

"Thank you, Commander!"

It's not really a problem of material, she's putting ten pounds of kick-ass in a five pound bag basically.

The power couplings start to burn out, and they can't be replaced fast enough to keep up with the strain.

On board the Star Destroyer Exsanguinator Admiral Yazz clasps his hands behind his back as his attack fleets emerge from Hyperspace facing Foundry and the Rebel forces assembled to defend the planet. He almost sighs in relief at the sight, a mere two Mon Cal cruisers and a captured Imperial-Class Star Destroyer opposed his combined fleets. To make things sweeter, one of the Mon Cal cruisers appeared to be heavily damaged and likely poorly crewed, a casualty of the Second Battle of Kuat. The Star Destroyer was new, garishly painted with crimson flashes and Starbirds, the Rebel emblem. It would be a mercy killing for that vessel. Yazz suspected it was one of many lost at Endor. It was time for it to suffer the final death it deserved.

"Admiral?" his executive officer asked, "The fleet is in attack position, sir."

Already the Rebel escort vessels and fighters were scrambling to defense positions. Too little, too late.

"Send in the fleet," Yazz says, "All ships attack."

In the Imperial Palace on Coruscant, you are Emperor Palpatine, lurking in the center of a growing network of power you're weaving, spreading out from the Deep Core toward the edges of the galaxy. It's night at the Palace on Imperial Center.

You slowly ascend the steps to the raised platform your throne rests on. Behind it, a wide, circular window framing the dark skyline of the world-city. You have been restless lately, though sleep rarely if ever came to you, but on this night especially you have felt uneasy. Your senses lay far from the seat of Imperial power, instead settled with your new apprentice. You sense hatred, fear, confusion and something else more troubling to you. Hope.

You'd been given word that the attack on Foundry was a success, the Rebels there smashed and driven back, once again opening up access to the industrial might of Foundry. Another small step forward, but one that will allow your shipyards on Kuat to supplement your growing navy with yet more ships.

You should have felt pride, a sense of accomplishment as your hold over the Core Worlds was tightened, solidified. Instead, you only felt uncertainty through the force. The dark forces you communed with had nothing to say on the matter it seemed, their silence spoke volumes. You feared the light was rising once again, threatening to topple all you had worked so hard to rebuild.

To make matters worse, your normally close mental bond with Mara had been weakened by her Sith awakening as she took on a modicum of independence, but now was virtually entirely severed, her thoughts, mood and condition totally unknown to you.

As you sit on the throne, pondering this mystery, you feel the dark presence of your Archmage, Sly Moore enter, a shadow among shadows, perhaps drawn by your troubled mood.

"I sense a disturbance in the force," you say, "I fear Darth Cythera has failed in her mission to kill Skywalker."

"I feel it too," Moore replies in a voice just above a whisper. "Perhaps she was inadequate to the task."

Moore smiles at your words, "There are many willing candidates for such a position, waiting for an opportunity."

"Then only the strongest will advance," you reply, pushing aside your unease. Let the warlords rage against you, let the pitiful rebellion once again try to undo your work. The Age of the Sith is again at hand, and with you in command, it cannot possibly fail.

And that wraps another seriously long! session. As usual, thank you everyone for playing, it was a blast.

I'm going to be taking a hiatus from the game next week and there won't be a session this weekend either unfortunately. I'd like to resume play next Saturday, but I'll put an announcement up sooner if I know. This is a good "pause" point I think, I feel like "Dark Empire I" is wrapping up and "Dark Empire II" is beginning soon. I also feel like I've gotten stretched thin creatively for this quest and I want to take a week or so to collect my ideas and plot out the next few arcs. I feel like quality either is already suffering, or is about to start and that's the last thing I want.

There's a lot of major challenges on the horizon, the Yevetha, Dark Side intrigue, the Rebels, Thrawn, Operation Shadow Hand, but we'll get to all that in time.

I'll be around for questions and discussion of course either in this thread or on the Twitter:

>https://twitter.com/DarkEmpireQuest Once again, thank you guys for playing, and I hope to see you again next week ready to rule the galaxy as QM and anon!

Believe me, I've been looking for a chance for one.Problem being that in the star wars universe, there aren't really much opportunities for them, at leas in the Galactic Civil War timeline.

Rebel don't exactly have a gigantic army, and generally once you win the orbital battle, you can either blockade or pulverize your opponent. For instance, the only reason hey landed at Hoth was to destroy the shields preventing bombardment, hypothetically this could have been done by Tie fighters, makes the land invasion questionable.

Not to mention that Alana, the person likely to be "closest" to a ground invasion would pretty much order it and then wash her hands at that point.

Like I said, I'm looking for opportunities :D
