>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

Pulling back your right arm, you close the distance between yourself and a fleeing Gero, letting out a furious yell as you punch with all of your might.

At the last second, Gero turns toward you, holding out his right hand, and letting your fist slam into his palm. The resulting shockwaves shatter the ground beneath the two of you, dropping you both into a deep crater.

The old man glares hatefully into your eyes, closing his hand around your fist. You pull your arm back just in time to avoid being caught in his grip, bringing your left leg up to strike at his face. He blocks with his right arm, then makes a claw-strike at your chest. But, making use of the Afterimage Technique, you avoid the attack and move behind him, landing a solid kick to the back of the old-man's head, and sending him flying into the crater wall.

As you land, Gero once more stands, turning toward you with shining eyes.

"Why won't you just die?!" he howls, firing a pair of beams from his eyes.

You prepare to race out of the way, but are instead shocked to see the blasts change direction, shooting upward and out of the crater, right toward your son.

"Trunks, look out!" you shout.

Your boy reacts quickly, leaning back and letting the beams of light shoot off into the sky and away from their intended target. He leans forward, glaring down at Gero, who is quite literally shaking with fury.

He really shouldn't take his eyes off of you like that. Holding out your right hand, you race forward, channeling energy and forming it into a blade covering and extending from your arm. The mad cyborg turns toward you as soon as the blade materializes, his eyes going wide as he sees you swing the sword.

He quickly reaches up, a ball of energy forming over his palm and stopping the sword from slicing through him. That only works for about a second, however, because you quickly strike with your left hand, punching the old man back into the wall, where he actually gets stuck for a moment before breaking free.

You swing the sword again, but he ducks beneath it. Of course, that only results in him getting a face-full of foot and being sent hurtling out of the crater.

"This can't be happening," he tries to convince himself as you rise from the crater. "There's no way that this can be happening."

>A. Should you tell him where he miscalculated?

"Should I tell you where you miscalculated?" you ask the Doctor, floating across from him.

"Miscalculated?" he spits, snapping out of his denial and giving you his full attention. "What are you talking about, you imbecile?"

"I'd think that after watching me for so many years, you'd know what happens to people that threaten the Earth, and my family," you tell him. "This is for my wife and son, present and future!"

Gero's glare intensifies, and his hands clench into fists.

"I won't let you ruin this world again!" you declare, rushing forward and swinging your blade, planning to finally end this battle and slice him to ribbons.

Your eyes go wide as Gero's hand comes up and catches the blade.

"Your family?" he asks as your blade shrinks away. "Your family?!"

He maneuvers his hand, allowing his palm to move up what's left of the blade and grab you by the fist.

"Let me tell you about family, Tofoo."

His fist slams into your gut, causing you to hunch over in pain as he holds your fist and saps your energy.

"I had a son," he explains, hid voice dripping with venom, particularly on the word 'had'. "He was a strong, brave, intelligent boy. Even Commander Red recognized his abilities, and made him an officer in the Red Ribbon Army."

Recovering from the previous blow, you throw a punch at Gero's face, catching him in the nose and forcing his head back. However, the cyborg maintains his grip, and his hateful stare.

"But, while aiding the rest of the army in its search for the Dragon Balls, he encountered three children," Gero continues. "A monkey-tailed boy with spikey hair, a bald child in orange, and another boy in white. And those three boys took his life."

He releases your fist, only to punch you in the face as you just did to him, pushing you away and knocking your upper body back. He races over, creating a double-axe-handle and slamming it down onto you.

A moment later, you crash down onto the ground, and find yourself staring up at the vengeful old man.

"You want to talk about family, Tofoo?!" he spits. "You took my son. You took my family! So now, I'll take yours."

He glances toward Trunks, who gathers his energy and prepares to fight.

Trunks is strong, but you can feel that his energy isn't strong enough for this. Both you and Goku outclass him in terms of strength, and both of you have been struggling, to say the least. He can't do this.

And, to make things worse, you're starting to feel fatigue. Unless you finish Gero soon, this is going to end poorly.

Throwing the Senzu Bean into your mouth, you feel your injuries heal and your strength return. Exploding from the ground, you position yourself between your enemy and your son, silently commanding the old bastard to back off.

Instead, he comes charging forward, and the two of you clash once again. Trunks is forced to shield his eyes from the shockwaves as the two of you exchange furious attacks before breaking apart.

Gero fires beams of light from his eyes, and you quickly move out of the way, circling around and rushing to attack him from the side. As you throw your punch, Gero moves his head out of the way and palm-striking up at your jaw. Your head jerks back, and you allow your upper body to fall back as well, while at the same time kicking Gero in the jaw.

You do a complete backwards flip, righting yourself in time to see his hand reach out and grab you by the forehead. Yelling in fury, Gero pushes you down toward the ground, coming down with you and slamming you into the rocky terrain.

Opening your mouth, you unleash a wave of energy that pushes him into the air, allowing you to get back up as he frees himself and fires a wave of energy down in return. You brace yourself and bring up your arms, shielding yourself from the blast as best you can. Still, it stings quite a bit, and your vision is obscured both by the flash of the explosion, and the dust it kicks up.

Two beams pierce the dust, racing down toward you and striking the ground as you leap back, only to be struck in the back by Gero, and sent sliding out of the cloud on your belly. Gero rushes forward, and you roll out of the way in time to avoid a punch, rolling back as he turns his heads and shoots beams of light at you.

You end up in a crouch, but are quickly knocked onto your back as Gero, back on his feet, kicks you in the face.

He stands over you, extending his left hand.

Springing back onto your feet, you punch the old man in the face, then follow up with an elbow strike that knocks him to the ground. As you move in to continue, however, he fires two more beams of energy from his eyes, and you're forced to stop your charge and move out of the way.

Gero picks himself back up and stares at you with an expressionless face. Then, he vanishes, reappearing right above you and giving a kick at your face. You bring your arms up to block, but are still sent sliding back.

OH MY GOD! HOLY SHIT!

We had such a good lead, and we've all but thrown it away. Som ending before showing the results implies at least the quest isn't ending right here, but it still worries me.
>>
Why has this fight lasted so Kong, we've had plenty of high rolls for once, were you just postponing it until we low rolled so you can kill tofoo and leave /qst/ forever?
>>
We cant just rush with the sword any more, gero just grabs us and steals our energy. We need a sneak attack if we want to cut limbs off, maybe feinting at his arms then cutting a leg off?

Som will make us work for the win, no more easy wins unless we roll a 100 or something.

Also, something tells me Gero was meant to run away, so we've already put a wrench in the original plan.

Moving your arms with such speed that two appear as eight, you rush forward to attack Doctor Gero yet again.

"Really?" he asks in disappointment. "This trick again?"

He slowly backs away as you assault him with King Chappa's Eight-Arms Attack, blocking or swatting aside each punch you throw with seemingly little effort. You continue attacking with all that you have, but it doesn't make a damn difference.

Finally, he grabs hold of one of your wrists, and you feel a sudden drop in your energy. His other hand seizes your other wrist, but you kick him in the jaw, forcing the cyborg to release his grip, and allowing you to grab hold of his collar.

Lifting Gero off his feet, you pull your right hand back to knock his lights out, only to gasp as a sudden pain shoots through your body. Looking down, you spot Gero's hand right in front of your midsection. Feeling even more energy leave your body as a result of his attack, you release the old man and fall onto your back as he lands calmly on the ground.

"I believe I've humored you long enough, Tofoo," Gero declares with a smug smirk. "But, I will leave you alive long enough to watch me kill your son."

Trunks raises his energy, scowling down at the old man and preparing for battle.

"You're going to stand a fight?" Gero questions, turning to look up at your son. "Tell me, if you weren't able to defeat me in your time, what makes you believe you'll fare any better now?"

"I've watched you monsters destroy this world once before," Trunks growls, holding out his right hand and creating a blade with his energy. "I won't let that happen again! No more, Gero! This ends now!"

Gero chuckles, lifting off into the air and hovering across from Trunks. "We shall see."

The cyborg holds out his right hand and fires a small volley of energy blasts at Trunks. The young man stands his ground, slicing them with his blade and causing them to detonate into a cloud of smoke.

Gero rushes through the cloud, attempting a punch at Trunks, but your son grabs the doctor's wrist with one hand, and swings with his blade, nearly managing to slice down Gero's chest. The cyborg moves his body back just in time, however, and kicks your son in the chest, forcing Trunks to release his grip, and pushing him back. The old man gives chase, but Trunks shoots higher into the air, avoiding Gero's next attack, and flipping before coming down with an Axe-kick that strikes the brain case of the doctor, causing him to descend several yards.

Giving chase, Trunks swings with his sword, intending to cut him right down the middle, but Gero moves to the side, retaliating with a punch to Trunk's cheek. You see spit fly from your son's mouth, but he recovers quickly, making a backhanded sword strike that nearly slices through Gero's body, only for the cyborg to grab the blade at the last moment, beginning to drain your son of energy right away.

However, in seizing the sword with both hands, Gero leaves himself open for Trunks to unleash an energy wave that hits the old man-full-force in the face, and sends him rocketing higher into the air. As Trunks pursues, Gero looks down and fires beams from his eyes, which Trunks narrowly manages to avoid.

Your son stops his charge when the beams cause a colossal explosion in the distance, making it apparent that they would have been fatal had they hit him.

Taking advantage of your son's moment of distraction, Gero rushes in to attack. But, before his hit can land, you appear in front of the cyborg, catching his fist and giving him a knee-strike to the gut. As he hunches over, you chop down onto the back of his neck, sending him crashing to the ground below.

"We'll kill this old bastard together!" you tell your son, racing down after Doctor Gero, intending to pummel him into pieces before he even has the chance to recover from your last hit.

Instead, as you begin to close the distance, Gero gets back on his feet, and holds out both hands. A ball of light forms between them, and he launches it up at the you.

You swerve out of the way, looking back to see Trunks do the same, and the ball climb higher into the air before disappearing. Then, you look back down at Gero, only to find his palm right in front of your face.

The last thing you see is the old man smirk, and a blinding light erupt from the palm of his hand. You hear your son cry out in horror, but then, there's nothing but darkness.

When your eyes open up, you find yourself lying in a bed, in a familiar-looking room. Sitting up, you find that it hurts to move very much, but still, you force yourself to get out of bed and walk to the door, entering the halls of Kami's Lookout.

You don't see anybody at first, but as you begin to walk toward the Lookout's entrance, you encounter Mr. Popo, who lets out a relieved sigh upon seeing you.

"Thank goodness, you're okay," he observes.

"I'm glad to see you, too, Popo," you tell your old teacher. "But 'okay' might be too strong of a word. What happened back there? How did I get here? How am I even alive?"

"Your son carried you here," Popo explains. "He and the others came here after losing the battle."

The others. Then there are other survivors.

"Where is everybody?" you inquire.

"Outside, mostly," Popo answers. "Though, Goku is in one of the nearby rooms, still recovering. And Piccolo..."

Popo's body stiffens for a moment, and when next he speaks, there's a tremble in his voice. "Piccolo is with Kami."

"So, everyone's still alive?" you ask, breathing a sigh of relief.

Popo nods. "Yes, it was quite fortunate that Piccolo and Chaozu were able to give an opportunity for everyone to escape."

You wait for some elaboration, but it doesn't come. Supposing you should just be happy that everyone's alive, you ask the next question that comes to your mind.

"Speaking of Piccolo, why is he with Kami?" you question.

"I'm not sure," Popo answers, though something in his voice tells you that he has his suspicions. "They're in Kami's throne-room, and have asked not to be disturbed."

Deciding to honor their wishes, at least for the moment, you bid Popo farewell, asking him where to find Goku. The caretaker points you toward his room, and you make your way there, opening the door to find your friend writhing in bed and clutching his chest while Suno, Kori, and Eighter look on in horror.

"Uncle Tofoo," Kori greets in a frightened voice as you step into the room.

"I am glad you are okay, Tofoo," Eighter tells you with a smile, temporarily turning his attention away from Goku.

Suno doesn't say anything, or even acknowledge your presence. Instead, she continues to stare at her husband with terrified eyes, tears threatening to spill at any moment.

Goku lets out another cry, and you look over with concern. "He took the medicine, right? Is it just taking a while to work?"

"It looks that way," Eighter tells you sadly, watching as Goku continues to writhe in pain.

"Trunks said that it could take days for him to get better," Kori tells you with worry. "I just want him to stop hurting..."

Suno cringes at that, and you see a tear roll down her cheek.

"Kori," you softly address the girl. "Did your aunt Bulma make it up here?"

She nods. "Yeah. I think she's outside."

Honestly I was hoping for Cell to just pop up out of nowhere to everyone's surprise since he more than likely felt the energy.
>>
>>1602905
The fight with Gero is the reason he wakes up from his hibernation if I remember right also I wonder if cell is going to be from a timeline like our trunk's or one closer to cannon where he killed vegeta's trunks and went back in time it would be hilarious if he saw lapis and lazuli and was like "Why the hell can I sense you?"

The family would probably prefer their privacy, so you begin walking to the door, pausing to put a hand on Suno's shoulder.

"He'll be alright," you assure her. "He's dealt with worse than this."

Suno sniffs. "Right....I know he will."

You step outside of the room, walking the halls of the Lookout until you find your way to the entrance, stepping outside to find the others right where Popo said they would be.

Bulma sits in front of a television, and for some reason, an uncapsulised airship. She flips through various news stations, perhaps looking for information on the Androids.

Most of the others have broken off into groups, and are standing around chatting with one-another, or training, or meditating, or whatever.

One thing that catches your attention is the present version of your son staring up at the future version, neither one really seeming to know what to make of the situation.

"So, if you two touched each-other's fingers, would it cause time and space to collapse on us like in the movies?" you ask, approaching your sons.

The larger Trunks chuckles, glancing at you. "You know, I asked mom that before she sent me back. She said time travel doesn't really work like that."

"Well then, Trunks, meet Trunks," you tell the two with a laugh.

"You're really me?" the smaller Trunks asks with wide-eyes, staring up at his future self.

"That's right," the older one answers, kneeling in front of him. "It's nice to meet you, me."

"Nice to meet you, too," the younger one replies, not seeming to have any issue accepting that he's talking to a future version of himself.

"I'm glad you're alright," you tell the older version of your son.

"Same to you," he replies, looking up at you. "We may not have won that fight, but at least almost everyone's still alive. That's much better than things were in my own time."

He looks down. "Still, it's a shame about Tenshinhan."

"How did you all escape, anyway?" you ask.

"Well, Chaozu used his powers to attack Gero's mind," Trunks explains to you. "Then Piccolo used the Solar Flare and we made a run for it."

You'll have to thank Piccolo for that, later.

"Come on," you tell the boys. "Let's go see what your mom's up to."

Just went back and reread the quest.
I'm at the bit with the stolen capsule after lord slug. Isn't that the same plot as a quest from legacy of goku two?

Piccolo is fucked
The fruit raises you to your current 100% and locks you there
Meaning if frieza ate the fruit his 100% form would become his base form but no transformation or training would allow him to get stronger

I have no idea what he's talking about, the fruit is supposed give you your full 100% like unlocking hidden potential. That doesn't mean you can't keep training to get stronger anyway.
