Funtron is a Lego board game where you take command of a crew of brave (or not so brave) space adventurers and explore an abandoned outpost on an alien planet.

You, the reader, post commands for the characters. In turn, I will execute your commands and post images and descriptions of what happens.

To begin, let's recap what happened last thread:

First Thread: >>1551976

Inventor Penkala, Intern Whitworth, and Bosun Joy descended to the surface of Planet FSA-89 to investigate the abandoned Carpos Station. Their ship, the Capsula Cinerea, was badly damaged. In order to escape, they needed to find a new radial charge incapacitator.

A second landing pad that could potentially contain spaceship parts was speculated to exist at r31. The crew began their trek.

They faced many robotic adversaries as they traversed the station, and made a valuable ally in the robotically enhanced teddy bear Penkala created, named Teddy Robovelt.

Their investigation also turned up some unsettling discoveries, such as the corpse of what appeared to be one of the station's former staff. What happened at Carpos Station and why was it abandoned?

In the west wing of the station, the crew faced a formidable foe in the spider mech, but were able to overcome it using teamwork, strategy, and Whitworth's master baiting.

Though the team needed to enter r14 to progress to the promised landing pad, both entrances to that wing of the station were locked due to damage sustained by the main generator. To fix the generator, they would need to locate a new power unit elsewhere in the station.

The team moved on to the east wing with the support of the Rough Rider, a suit of power armor made for Teddy out of various salvaged parts and one of the cannons from the now unflyable Capsula Cinerea.

In the ensuing combat, the Rough Rider was badly damaged. This is where the situation stands now.

What will you do?
>>
>>1618558
Is it possible to salvage parts from elsewhere and make repairs?
>>
>>1618772
Yes, though doing so with the robots chasing after you might be a difficult proposition. The Capsula Cinerea on the landing pad in r1 could still be dismantled further.

For those joining in for the first time, the current action is taking place in r7 and r8, by this map: >>1618535
>>
>>1618558
Have the Rough Rider shoot the robot on the left and kick the burning junk into the central and right robots to obscure their sensors.

It then kicks the terminal debris towards the pair of bots on the right. The flying metal smashes through the basic drone and takes the advanced bot's shields offline.

However, the heavy cannon bot remains standing to deliver a harsh reprisal. Meanwhile, the now unarmored drone and the bot in the mech suit advance towards the Rough Rider.

The Rough Rider is quite literally on its last legs, and also on fire. This may not be the safest place for Teddy.

Teddy spends a moment of deep introspection contemplating the options laid before him: whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the bolts and lasers of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a space-sea of space-troubles and by opposing end them. To die, to sleep—wait, die? To hell with that!

Teddy bails out of the Rough Rider into Penkala's arms and hands the cannon over to Joy.

That door (to r14) is locked due to the damage sustained by the station's generator, as is the door from r4 to r14. You're currently in r7.

You beat a hasty retreat to r11, the site of your previous victory over an overwhelmingly large mechanical foe. The situation now seems about as bad as it did then.

Out in the hallway of r4, you can hear the footsteps of the mech as it prowls about, and lighter pitter-patter of the unarmored drone accompanying it. However, you're not certain which part of the hallway they're in. You suspect the doors here are small enough that the mech wouldn't be able to fit. You hope, anyway.

Whitworth pops open his laptop and enters a quick Google: "stuck in tinie room+can robot reach insde?"

"Your search - "stuck in tinie room+can robot reach insde?" - did not match any documents.

However, his and Penkala's endeavors are met with great success. Using the lights from the r11, some circuitry from the television in r12, and a cellphone left lying around by the couch, the pair are able to jury-rig a pair of remotely activated bombs. To prevent an ambush, you decide to leave one member of the crew on watch in r8 while the others advance into the unknown.

Whitworth's offer to man the back lines is quickly shot down by Joy and Penkala together, under the tacit understanding that Whitworth, left to his own devices and device, would certainly choose to watch a number of rears, but probably not the team's. Instead Teddy is stationed as the sentinel. Just as well, since he'd hardly fit into r2 anyway.

There's actually quite a lot of ancient, dried plant matter littering the room, as though splattered about during some long-ago confrontation. It gives you no hint as to where your quarry might be now, though.

Sorry for the terminology mix-up; I called it the r14 wing there because you can't access any of those rooms (including r28) while the doors from r4 and r7 to r14 are locked, and r14 would be your entry point. However, r28 is the actual heart of the research wing, at least according to the terminal.

For convenience, shall we call r4 and its rooms the Utility Wing, r8 and its rooms the Residence Wing, and r28 and its rooms the Research Wing?

I also forgot to add that r6 and r36 contained corpses. If you want that on the map, I can add it tomorrow.

—————
And this is where I'll leave off tonight, and likely for this thread since it's already on page 10.

On Sunday, I'll start back up again with Round 3 in a new thread, and I'll post in /lg/ when it goes live. I think completing the mission is a possibility for Round 3, but we'll see how it goes.

Thanks again to everyone who's joined in on the adventure, and I hope to see you next thread!
