I know qst is slow, especially at this time of day, so I'll leave voting open for quite some time. Here is how that works: people decide which of the free slots they wanna continue, Tublat or the open new game.If there's a tie, we play Tublat. If nobody votes, which is entirely possible at this time of day, we play Tublat. If new game gets more vote, we start a new character.last threads:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/1554706/http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/1574649/http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive/1593056/
>>1620344Hm.I don't even know. I'd be up for continuing Tublat's story, but I'm also not averse to starting a new one.Someone vote for me please.
>>1620344>New GameShow me whatcha got OP.
>>1620374>>1620366Seeing as there's a bit of activity, I'll close voting in like half an hour

>>1620409Post-Postmodern, cyber augmentation age. We cyberpunk now
>>1620423Hmmmmmmmm. Actually a shadowrun/ghost in the shell type thing would be dope as hell. Supporting
>>1620423>>1620443Alright, we cyberpunk nowWhat is your profession? >tfw players always wanna be clever and deprive themselves of comfy stuff like crusaders
>>1620468>professionSecurity guardAlso don't worry about getting your Crusades on OP. There's still that 3rd character slot down the line.
>>1620474you're a security guard at one of the super corporations in the city. Now what's your greatest asset? This is usually something material, or social, but it has been 'good health' before.
>>1620485hold up guys, I'll be away for a bit, half an hour or so. Maybe use the time to pick a name too.
>>1620485PersuasiveGotta talk down mooks sometimes. We are Charles "Charley" Chambers

>>1620547It's raining in Cybercity. It feels like it's always raining, just as it feels like the power to the little one room flat at the base of one of the old apartment towers in Eden Park is always cut for one reason or another. The streets are filthy, the wet asphalt bathed in neon coloured advertisements for sex and alcohol. It's a morning like any other, and it's miserable.>what do you want to do?
>>1620568>Go to work while having a noir inner monologue.
>>1620568>And while eating a tuna sandwich.
>>1620570>>1620572"This city is a festering growth, and its inhabitants are the bile that fills it. Whores, murderers, politicians. They keep us sedated with booze and sex, but we're decaying as the bile accrues. The city makes us all into sinners. Kill a man to earn your salary. Get yourself a tuna sandwich, forget about it in a pleasure pallor. Rain washes it away.">what company are you working for?I'll be going to uni soon, I'll be back in three to four hours
>>1620578Cyber tech company???
>>1620579Slow day today good luck op on whatever your gonna do
>>1620592you arrive at the armoured doors of Yuland Weytani Cyber Tech Research Co. Your shift starts in an hour officially, but the company enforces strict personal overtime standarts for all their employees. In front of the gate you see somebody in the clothes of a Yuland scientist who waves at you as you approach. As the veil of rain parts, you recognize the woman as Doctor Min, one of the senior scientists in inner sector of Yuland-Weytani
>>1620668>Compliment her looks and be polite.>Imagine how she would look with cat ears.
>>1620687"Oh, Mister Chambers!" she exclaims as you approach."I've been waiting for you, I have..." she trails off as the part of her face that still emotes takes on a puzzled look."Do I have something in my hair? What are you looking at?"She turns to check if there's something behind her just over her head that you're staring at. Seemingly deciding to drop it, she returns to what she had been saying before:"I need your help. I think there's been an accident."
>>1620696>What happened, where, when and to whom?
>>1620714"A... friend I brought into the inner sector had a fall into an empty cooling pit. I tried to get down to him, but there's no ladder, and even if I could - I wouldn't be able to get him out.""And I can't really speak to my team about it, seeing as my friend wasn't exactly allowed to be where he was."
>>1620728>Be suspicious."And why would you bring a friend to a cooling chamber?"
Rolled 28 (1d100)>>1620730"I was showing him around! He wanted to know where I work!"If you want you can roll a 1d100 + your smarts (+20) against her smarts (+50) to see if she's lying. Rolling works with 2d100s, the first decides which roll is taken, the second one has to beat mine.
>>1620734didn't post my pic for some reason
>>1620734>>1620739>Still be suspicious."And you then not only ignored the fact he was not allowed in the inner sector but also got him so close to something dangerous without the right protections?"
>>1620763"Look, that man could be dying as we speak, there's no time for stupid questions. All I'm asking is for you to help me rescue my friend. But if you won't do it willingly..."She steps back as her hand enters her pocket."I'll have to force you."And with that shitty cliffhanger we stop because I can't draw for shit today and it's fucking frustrating.
>>1620799Wew, glad this is back. Thanks for running, OP
>>1620799Sorry I went to sleep.Breddy gud so far. Cant wait to detective the fuck out of her.
Rolled 89, 2 = 91 (2d100)>>1620734I'll roll on lie detection, because why not.
Rolled 20, 22 = 42 (2d100)>>1620990Kek>>1620988Ill roll just cause
Rolled 99, 31 = 130 (2d100)>>1620996Well, if we're rolling.
>>1620999Anon, you're a wizard.
>>1620999>>1621001>>1621046>>1621105you guys should really look at modifiers.
>>1621139Who cares if she is lying or not? She is still forcing us so we are being railroaded anyway.
does this thread still bump?
>>1626159Alright, I will be continuing this thread later today
>>1620799"I'll have to force you." she says, as she pulls out a small laminated ID card from her pocket."I've got clearance rate 12 in the inner sector. I can get you any cybernetics you want if you just help me, no questions asked, free of charge, off the books.""I know the salary of a sec guard." she grins. "You can't refuse this."
>>1626278>Cybernetics and a beer, and it's a deal.
>>1626349"I guess I can also buy you a beer." Alright, do you wanna go right ahead to the scene of the accident or do something else first?
>>1626359>Go there immediately. That guy could be in danger.
>>1626362The cooling tower (or rather cooling pit) surrounds a set of large steel tanks the base of which is to be found somewhere in the darkness of the pit. There is no ladder or elevator, as this area is maintained mostly by automated drones, as is the case with most of the inner sector. Somewhere down there, Min assures you, her friend is waiting for help
>>1626368>We'll need a rope.>A long one.>And a flashlight.
>>1626372Your job requires you to carry a torch, so that's not a problem. In regards to a rope, you have the Yuland-Weytani-Breaching-Belt TM with inbuilt grappling hook at your disposal.
>>1626379Our corp cares for us!>Attach the hook to the railing>Descend
>>1626381you hook up and descend down the wall. as you get closer to the bottom of the pit, the uneven light of the torch illuminates something that looks like a large, dark stain on the ground.
>>1626398>Investigate the stainThe obvious assumption is that this is our guy, but clothes don't get turned into stains by falling, so if there's none here, this must be something else.Another thing - where's all the coolant? How does this pit work in general?
>>1626408You shine your light at the stain, and it seems to be some blackish dried liquid, roughly in the shape of a... person. You hear a metallic noise somewhere in the dsitance above you.The cooling pit is not in use currently. It's used by having cooling liquid pumped in and out of it constantly, ingulfing the tanks and keeping the temperature in it at extremely low temperatures.
>>1626419I'll be gone for a bit. I hope I'll be back today, but I might only be continuing tomorrow.
>>1626419>Look up>Dodge whatever is falling if anything is.
>>1626425This, and turn off the flashlight as well.
>>1626424>>1626425you look up.
>>1626425>>1629210and you DODGE
>>1629210>>1629211oh boy, this thread doesn't bump anymore. So this'll be it for this thread.
