Subject: Jacob Marshal
Designation: Deimos
Infected: Evolved
Bio: Jacob Marshal, an ex-mercenary in his mid-twenties. Having picked his visiting cousin Nina up from the airport, now finds himself trapped in the Florida redzone. While trying to get his cousin to safety, Jacob was ambushed and infected with the blacklight virus. Now one of the evolved, Jacob must find a way to safely get Nina out of the exceedingly deadly hellscape the eastern Floridian coast has become.

You can’t help but be impressed by these revolvers, well, they will be proper revolvers once you cut the stocks off. More impressive is the little plaques that were left in front of the Rifles case, one of which talks about how their maker just wanted something to go gator hunting with his son, his disappointment with the Circuit Judge revolving carbines, and how he made these custom to accept that large .454 casull round he loves using on the scaly bastards. It’s rather touching, and you can’t help but hope the gunsmith at least got to take these out with his boy once.

As you saw off the buttstock with one of your claws you begin looking around for some ammo, and come up with a few small boxes of the large revolver rounds. You dump these into your duster pockets as you come across a few 44 magnum holsters coming out of the door and get an idea. Stepping back inside you cut out the bottom and slide the long barrel of the revolver down in it. well it should work, so you attempt to form your biomass to produce holsters. Looking at yourself in one of your Harley’s side mirrors, you can’t help but chuckle at how much of a throwback to a god damn cowboy you look like.

Stowing away all the weapons you found you are not going to be keeping on your person proves rather difficult and leaves the body and barrel of the shotgun and levergat sticking right out of your saddle bags. Aircraft parts, some stuff to make a flame thrower out of, a bunch of bullets, and now more firearms than you have people to look after. They’ll definitely be well protected, if they weren’t already what with being a fucking black goo monster. Great, those thoughts are back. Sitting on your Harley you turn on the engine and then lean on the light between your handle bars.
>>
Has it really just been around a week and a half since this all started? You’ve seen horrifying abominations to god three times the size of a normal person, you’ve seen walking corpses, sometimes eating dead bodies, and you’ve been turned into one of these lovecraftian horrors yourself. As the realization hits you, you sigh. Your description is wanted by the government for being an inhuman man-eating monster, you’ll be lucky enough if you avoid getting identified completely, but past that, how would you go back to a normal life? There have been three outbreaks of this fucking Lovecraft virus within the span of a decade, you’ll be beyond lucky if screening for this doesn’t become a common part of every drug test.

And not just you, Nina is stuck here. And she’s been in the redzone, a redzone you haven’t even heard of anyone being able to leave yet. Just getting her to the Yellow zone would mean that you would have to vanish and the question of where you ended up would come up. Practical problems aside you also have to take into account your cousins mental health. For having been dropped into instant hell and her cousin becoming whatever you are, she’s held up amazingly well.

Shit, you just realized you haven’t confirmed if Madison is Ok or not, maybe now wouldn’t be the worst time to call Alexis and-

“ghrrgh”

What was? Was that a growl? You turn around and see it on the top of the roof to the gun store, you were napping too long and one of those large hunters has spotted you.

You leap back to another car and as your land and the hunter is about to slam into you, jump again it rams its head into the door and you form you axe, trying to drop it onto the beast skull. As your come down like a guillotine, the hunter raises its arms, Grabbing and stopping the blade from digging more than an inch into its shoulder. Your thrown, and slam into another burned out husk of a station wagon, the monster running at you again.

As the beast nears you swing your axe into the path of its claws while you make tendrils out of your other arm. Slinking to the rear of the car you turn the corner just as the impact sends it flying back. You lunge, axe blade swinging for the head, your blow staggers the hulk, a flash of blood sweeping the ground. Backpaddling your arm twist and snaps into the shape of your needler. The loud brapping of the air compressing appendage fills the parking lot as you put quill after quill into the beast. It grabs the toppled streetlamp hoisting it above its head as It brings it down, blood curdling roar escaping its maw.

Right as the Hound from hell steps forwards to leap, you kick off the wall axe swinging ahead of you as you crash into the shoulder of the beast. Your blade slices deep into it's flesh, gore seeping from the wound as blood sprays around the two of you. Delivering a sharp kick to its ribs to prevent a retaliation slash, you draw your axe from the dripping wound, winding back as you swing again. The blade slashes deep, right into and through one of the claws of the hunter. The gory loss has left the hunter leaping back as quickly as it can but you pursue it, slashing again and again driving it back. It seems tired, so you shoot it again, this time with the huge revolvers you have recently acquired. The large .454 rounds dig deep into it's flesh, one of them even making it out of the soft tissue while taking an artery with it, leaving quite the leakage.

It charges one last desperate time, which you hold your axe blade out to black as it rams into the flat of your razor-sharp appendage. You put the barrel to the head of the beast, pulling the trigger and ending the assault.

Your exhausted, and lost quite a lot of blood, consuming it would be best. You don't waste time, nobody misses a monster like these things anyways, besides, it's still a combat zone, you can always ask god for forgiveness later. As you start devouring the beast, a thought goes through your mind, these things have been coming out of pods, and you found a large spider thing inside one of the local homes, there was even a hunter that jumped out at you when your fight with a juggernaut landed the two of you into one of the neighboring buildings. Even staying in that hotel, Nina and Clemence might not be as safe as the could be, one of these things might make its way inside and cocoon itself, and then what? Do they become those alligators? Grow bigger?

You put it from your mind, you have to get out of here, back on your Harley you begin to head out, but now what? That survivor camp at the airport still wants area denial stuff for their fuel, and you haven’t found a damn thing of it, on the other side of things, Nina and Clemence could use the new fire arms.

>head out back to Nina, and unload your goods.
>go find some area denial weapons you want that jet fuel.

Just got home, OP.
>>
As you park your Harley against the side of the condo and begin unloading, you hear what sounds like screaming, which makes you hightail it up the stairwell and past your barricade. When you finally open the door, you’re left with a pissed off Nina and Clemence under the sink.

“Just what the hell could be taking you so long, it’s been ten fucking hours!”
“Do you want water or not!? I’m working as fast as I can you insufferable Bi- Ow! don’t kick me!”

“watch your damn tongue you god damn-“

“Hey!” you interrupt.

“Oh Jacob! Your back!”

Clemence grumbles as he takes off a piece of piping. “hey, long time no see, when you get a chance, can you snake this fucking thing please!”

You chuckle. “Hang on I have a few things to bring up that I brought ya’ll.”

Heading back down you gather up the shotgun, the rifle, and the new G17. Hopefully they won’t have to see too much use. Kicking open the door as dramatically as possible you give a call. “Here’s the birthday gift ya’ll never fuckin had!” They jump back initially but damn if they aren’t impressed, slightly. And spend the afternoon getting everyone acquainted to their new weapons.

“well, I don’t know what to say. Thanks, Hommie?”

“Reckon that will do Clemence.”

“I should probably get back to fixing the sink.”

“nah.” Nina chimes in. “think we all earned our break, at least for now.”

“So what’s up with the sink anyways?”

“It’s just a clog cuz, we can clear it. if one of us could just figure out how to use a damn snake.” She give Clemence a scornful expression. Clearly annoyed by the lack of water for so long.

“Look, we tried the plunger, we tried the snake, maybe whatever is up in there is nothing and there’s no water?”

“because I can hear the pipes pushing water, now stop making excuses you whiney-“

“for fucks sake Nina calm down.” You tell her. “I’ll have a look at it alright.”

Tell them to stop drinking the tap, and stick to bottled water. Get water filters and purification tablets next time we are out, and boil water the future.

Check the sewers, having water adept infect is bad, the only thing truly preventing large scale spread last few times was the reluctance of the virus becoming waterborne.
>>
>>1627902
>check the buildings plumbing

We should do what we can to trace the flow of water. Do any of the other taps in the apartment work? What about nearby apartments? Other floors? The main into the building? At some point we'll figure out where the stoppage is.
>>
anyone else. I'm just not rolling this time.
>>
>>1628001
>>1627931
I agree with telling them to not drink tap water until we figure this out. We should be more worried about the water coming in than the water going out, so we need to be looking at the lines in, not the sewers.
>>
>>1628024
Does Florida have modern sewer systems or is it like old city french and new york sewers?
>>
>>1628031
We're in a fairly modern place, so I would think it would have your standard subterranean piping. Not big stupid tunnels like in movies and games, just big (like, couple feet in diameter) pipes. You aren't fitting in one, unless you feel like swimming.
>>
>>1628039
I wounder if we can flush the system with a few barrels of bloodtox.
>>
>>1628044
Possibly, but I thought the games implied that the Bloodtox was rapidly becoming useless. It's probably why they started developing Whitelight.
>>
>>1628057
I thought that was just mercer but idk.
>>
>>1628093
I think the stuff here was developed off Blacklight, which is what Mercer was infected by. Bloodtox was more effective against Redlight.

>>1628143
Yeah, trying to make our way through a 3' dia. concrete pipe full of whatever gets flushed down the drain in Florida does not seem like a good plan.

In fact, it seems like a good way to end up with every disease ever.
>>
>>1628160
Sounds tasty, I'm more worried about meeting evolved mutants down there that can really hurt us.
>>
>>1628187
We're not really getting into one of those pipes. Go image search "sewer main". They're not that big, even the ones in a big city. You could maybe get a small person in one, but it's a tight fit. Looking at the pictures, they're even smaller than I thought.
>>
“Ok you two, just don’t drink out of the tap, or shower or anything for a little, I’ll check it out.”

“alright, whatever you say. Come on Clemence, I want to see how far I can plink.”

With those two leaving you take a look at the pipes, and well, you’re not really sure where to start. Usually you pay someone to do this. Turning the water on you can hear what sounds like water flowing but there’s nothing coming out. You try the water in the next few rooms over and you get water coming out quick and cleanly. Except for the room next to yours the water seems to be flowing well. Should you just move rooms?

Sure, we can do this. I also think we should tear out the wall and see if there's anything wrong back there. We may want to move rooms, depending on what we find.

>>1628259
Fuck the deposit. Whoever lived here before us sure as hell isn't getting it back. Besides, I'd think "zombie apocalypse" would be covered under renter's insurance.
>>
The pattern of having water or not seems to be random as the next few rooms you visit have absolutely nothing coming out as the pipes. On the other hand, almost every other room has running water. Nothing left to do but find the plumbing controls.

Finding one of the maintenance rooms for the buildings plumbing wasn't too hard, main issue you have is trying to figure out what to do in here, but you are lucky, and find a note left by the custodian.

"Just flush the valves and apply some draino every several days, the pipes are find but there's a blockage that builds up on the fourth pipe. been doing that since last year."

That makes your job easy, you shrug and sigh as you begin opening a locker, looking for the draino, what you find is a lunchbox, vest, a few notes, and an ero-romance novel.

Going through the notes it seems these we’re mostly responses to complaints about a recent hire, Most notable is the one most recently sent back, notifying the recipient of his coworkers termination for failing to show for work four day in a row without notice, although, most concerning is the response regarding complaints that the subject of these notes doesn’t seem to use his lunch to go anywhere, bring a meal, or even leave building. So what? Suspicious behavior? Not something you would know too much about but not much to concern yourself with.
