Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice odds for best of 3: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Croconaw)

Badges: 3

Location: Kaitwe, your house

Recently: You explored the woods, met some nice women, got into Herb's motivations, feelings, and frustrations, and got both of the girls.

For now.

You swagger towards your house. Not too much, you try to restrain yourself. You don’t want to come off as too cocky. But it does feel good. You’re full of energy, your ability to deal with the world feels just a little stronger, even the door back to your house seems lighter. But most importantly, you feel liked.

Huh, maybe that says something about you that you should really think on. You gu-

“Herb! Good, you’re back, honey.” Your mom comes rushing by with her work clothes and a packed lunch. “I’ve got to run. If I don’t see you before you leave,” she kisses you on the cheek, “be careful. And have fun with your friends.” She’s just about gone when she turns around. “Oh, and Honey, please don’t say anything to your father, okay? He doesn't need to worry about this.” And she’s gone.

You look around, nobody heard that. Laki and Hana are still sort of sitting in a stupor in the back yard. You walk into the dining room and find Keira and your dad talking. Jane’s absence is unsettling, but predictable.

“Son!” Dad greets you. “I, -exclusively-, was doing the dishes when I saw you in the backyard.” He leans into the words, with a big smile, but also a little concern. “Everything alright?”

“I’m sorry Mr. Johnson!” Keira shoots up, loses her smile and looking worried. “I knew I should have insisted on helping with those.”

He shoots her back a smile. “No. Keira. That’s not what I was hinting at. You’ve been the perfect guest. Sit down, it's okay.”

She relaxes. Dad’s always known how to do that.

He turns back to you. “If you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine too. But if you want to talk, just let me know.”

He saw that, huh? You guess it must be really confusing without hearing what you guys were saying. Heck, it’s a little confusing for you and you were there.

You pause for a moment. You’ve always been unsure of what to say or over think your wording to avoid making a mistake. Sometimes that makes you quiet, using your old philosophy that if you don’t say anything, you won’t say anything wrong.

But look what actually expressing yourself has done. This is a new day for Herb Johnson. A cool day.

“Jane! Brunch if you’re hungry!” you yell out. You hear her footsteps coming from your room and get to work cooking up something nice. Laki and Hana end up coming in after a few minutes, too. It doesn’t take long for the pancakes to be ready.

“Oh yeah, dad, about what you were asking before. Yeah, I’m dating Hana and Laki now. Can you pass the syrup?”

Dad raises his eyebrows. He puts some effort into lowering one, and then the other.

“Neat!” Keira scarfs down another forkful.

Hana blushes a bit and avoids eye contact with everyone.

Laki does too, but less so. “Yeah. I didn’t see it coming either. We umm, have some traditions you don’t on the mainland.”

Dad leans back and chuckles a little. “Relax. I had my journey at these islands too. I guess some things don't change.” He looks back into his memories. "There were some good times, then."

Jane gives you a very, very funny look. She raises a finger to say something, then stops. You expected something else. Anything else. Yelling, accusations, some sort of crazy mind games. But nothing comes out. Laki says nothing, but she’s enjoying watching it.

You look over to Hana and Laki again, just to make sure they’re not too embarrassed or haven’t changed their mind or anything. You get a shy smile from one and a wink from the other.

You catch your reflect in your knife. You really do feel like a new man. Maybe it’s time for a change to reflect that.

You consider a few things, but ultimately decide against it. You like the way you look.

You really are starving. You guess the emotional day took a lot out of you. That, and you find that a meal made in a real kitchen always comes out a lot better. And you guess that feeling good makes food a bit better, too.

You can’t find anything you want to do to yourself, fashion-wise, but what about your pokemon? It feels a bit like you’ve been neglecting them on that front. Everyone deserves to feel confident in what they’re wearing.

“I’m so full.” Keira leans back, emphasizing her belly. “Thanks!”

“Yes.” Jane says, monotone. “Thank you for your kind hosting.” She still seems to be making up her mind on how she wants to react to the news.

“No problem.” You grab their plates. Hana helps. Laki is about to help too but the plates are already gone.

“So, I guess you’ll be heading out today.” Dad says, stretching and heading towards the basement. “See me before you do though.”

You start running the water, but everyone else insists on taking care of the dishes today. You’re left a few minutes to think.

What sort of outfits or accessories do you want to try with your pokemon? You of all people know how much the right clothes can affect someone’s mood, but also how it affects how others see you. It’s important. It’s a signal that’s given to everyone else.

Mace settles down near your foot. He’s not one for cuddles, but you guess you haven’t had much time with him lately. You reach down and pat him on the head.

What would work best on him?

>Something noble, that inspires confidence from others
>Something intimidating
>Something cute, that makes others underestimate him
>Something comfy, that relaxes him
>Something else

[Feel free to write-in specifics. The votes are more for the effect you want them to give than the actual clothes or accessories. In the absence of suggestions I’ll make something up]

I am well aware of that, I just personally find it boring as hell; it's fluff. And we've had enough fluff for now I think and I would really prefer to see what Dad has to say or what Jane is thinking or going out and having some weird adventure with some wild pokemon or pretty much anything else. Not saying the votes for fashion are wrong just that they are not mine, waiting all week for a thread seems like a shame if we never do anything.

Mace is a stoic pokemon. It’d feel wrong to give him anything other than the look of a noble knight. You’ll get him a cape. Of course, you’ll probably need to customize it to make it fit and that means getting your sewing kit out. It’ll need pauldrons, and a little brooch to keep it on, too. That’s a lot of work.

You try not to get too excited about it. Before you do anything, you want to make sure he’s okay with that.”

“Mace, how do you feel about a cape?”

He looks up at you, then down at the floor.

“It’ll be short enough so you don’t trip over it. I won’t give you one for a human.”

“You own a lot of capes, Soft Hands?” Laki teases, carrying a freshly dried plate.

You wish.

Mace nods.

“Yeah? Alright! I’ll get to work!”

Now, what do you want to get for-

Jane gets up from her table. “I’ll be leaving now. Thank you for hosting me.” She bows. “John, Don’t expect mercy in our next battle.”

John? She just started calling you Herb, but it looks like she's gone back to that.

You do your best to give an assertive, confidence, and flippant look. You fold your arms. “I wouldn't expect or want anything less from you Don’t expect me to go easy, either.”

Her eyes narrow, but she also looks vindicated. Like she was just proven right about something. She nods. There’s a defensive layer to it, but on a different level it also feels like there’s a new respect from her. You really don’t know what to make of that. Maybe you just aren’t reading her well.

She puts a hand on the doorknob

“Wait!” You stop her. “Here.” You give her a basket of food. You were preparing that for your trip, but you can make more.

She looks down at it, confused. “I can’t-”

“I insist three times over.” You tell her. You grab a little bit and take a bite, showing her you didn’t poison it or anything. “I insist.”

She actually cracks a strange smile. “I see. Make your move to start your little harem and then try to put me in your debt with this. I’ll play your game for now, but be prepared to be repaid many times over.”

And with that, she leaves.

But she comes back a second later and leans back into the room , looking at Laki “There’s nothing wrong with capes, you uncultured primeape.” She leaves again.

Laki lifts a plate to throw at the door she left through. Hana quickly grabs her arm.

“I wasn’t really going to.” She unconvincingly says as she lowers it.

“Is everyone ready to go soon?” Keira asks, changing the subject.

Well, you’ll go talk to your dad before you take off, but is there anything else you want to do?

You make a mental note about where all your stuff is so you don’t forget anything, then head down to talk to dad.

“Herb, my boy!” He pants the piano stool. “So, two girlfriends, huh?”

“Uhh, yeah.” It still feels weird, especially with your dad saying it.

“Hey! Relax. I’ll talk to your mom about it. She’s a bit more rigid than you and I, but she’ll be happy as long as you’re happy. But first, let’s talk.” Dad places a beer down in front of you, then cracks one for himself.

“It’s time we had the talk, son.”

“Mom umm, already did that. Years ago.”

He rolls his eyes. “Not the Delibirds and Beedrills. Come on, you stayed at your grandpa’s daycare enough that I know her talk was late anyways. No. This is another talk, just for men.”

You can’t think of what he means. You take a sip of beer and concentrate on not making a face.

“Son,” he begins, “women will try to change you. It’s an instinct they can’t help. Just remember; don’t give up your passion for anyone. It’s that passion that draws people in in the first place. Make sacrifices from it when you absolutely have to, of time and money and attention, but never let that flame go out. There’s no such thing as giving up your passions for the sake of your woman. They’re tied together. They’re why she’s there in the first place. If you give that up, she’ll resent you for letting yourself die inside, and you’ll resent her for ‘forcing’ you to give up the flame.”

The serious look on his face throws you off. Dad’s usually always a bit goofy or light-hearted. But he really means what he’s saying here. “Did you ever give up your dreams for mom?”

“Yup. And we ended up almost getting divorced.”

You choke out your beer.

“Oh! Son! No. It’s okay. We’re fine now.” He hovers his hand over your back, trying to determine if you need a good whack or not. Thankfully he decides to let you cough it out. “That was a long time ago. We worked it out. I still make my music, after all.” He’s always banging out something on the keyboard or guitar. You rarely hear him repeat the same tune twice, like he’s always searching for something different, but he’s never stopped. He runs his fingers along the keyboard, playing a quick two second ditty as if to emphasize the point.

“That’s,” you cough, “a relief.”

”I don’t know if I’ll ever make another little minor hit like the one that paid for our old house, but I’ll never give up my passion for it again. When you have a dream, son, something that really touches your soul, you also have a duty. A duty to yourself and it and everyone important in your life to keep it alive. Some people out there maybe go a little too far with their passions,” he makes a pose like the one Jane does sometimes. You end up choking on your water again from seeing it, but it’s a lot lighter this time. “But far more people let them wither and die.”

You take a moment to reflect on what he’s said.

“Anyway. I just wanted to tell you that. Those girls upstairs, they will change who you are. If you think it’s changing you for the worse, get out. Trust me on that. Nothing twists a man more than a woman.”

“Hana and Laki aren’t like that. They wouldn't make me give up my pokemon! Or cooking!”

“I’m sure they have no conscious intention of it.” He flicks a hand at your face, causing you to blink. “But instincts affect us all.”

“Well. Okay. I promise. But I think you worry too much.”

He pats you on the shoulder and downs his beer. You reach for yours and chug some more. You’ve still got awhile to go on it.

“What was your journey like? And your pokemon team? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any pictures.”

“My team.” He leans back, thinking. “I didn’t start out with a new pokemon. I had Cracker. An old Heracross. He was an ornery old bastard, but the best friend a trainer could have. Helped me catch the other two pokemon. Oh, they’d argue and fight. But like brothers. Well, not like you and your brother because you two don’t do any of that, but like my and mine. They had each other’s backs.”

“Did you ever feel like you were letting them down? Holding them back?”

“All the time. It was intimidating to have an experienced pokemon like that. But if you’re worried about that son, don’t be. You’re a good kid, and from your battle I can see you’re a good trainer. Those pokemon of yours all look up to you.” He tousles your hair. “Not just because you’re shootin’ up like a beanstalk, either.”

You laugh. But a thought hits you. “What happened to your team?”

He keeps his eyes away from your view and sets down his beer can. “Like I said. Cracker was old. He’s...he’s buried by Tabo, actually. I haven’t visited yet. And the other two I... I’ll tell you another time.” He reaches for your can, but you’re still working on it so he leaves it. “You just concentrate on your own journey. Make good memories.”

You nod. “Y-yeah. Okay!”

He smiles.

You still feel like you should change the subject, though. “Umm. Is there anywhere you recommend visiting?”

“I was going to say the girls at the Ghost Temple, but I guess you’ve already got your hands full there.” He laughs. “The mountain range by Huka has a fantastic view. Kontote has a different culture but as long as you’re respectful you’ll get along fine. Opala is a good place to learn some stories.” He starts thinking. “Actually, there are a lot of places. I don’t want to just dictate your journey for you, but let me make up a little list here for you and you can check them out if you’re in that area.” He starts writing. After a few moments he hands you a list of a bunch of locations all around the islands.

“Thanks.”

He leans down and gives you a hug. You hug back.

“I’m proud of you son. You’re really on your way to becoming a man. Now go get back on your journey.”

A man is a lot of things. Strong, not just physically but of mind and heart. He’s honest, he lifts up others, does what it takes, is respectful and dutiful.

If you had to sum it up, the one word that shines out to you like a beacon in the dark is integrity. That’s everything. And you’d like to believe you’ve shown at least a little on your journey. You remember what Hana said to you earlier this morning. “If it were anyone else but you, I wouldn’t trust you.”

You really hope that's a sign you’re on the right path, anyway. But you suppose you’ll really know when you’re tested and nobody can see. You wonder how you’d really handle that. You don’t think you’d fail, but doesn’t everyone think that until it happens?

Your feet have taken you out of the basement and into the bright living room while your mind runs in circles.

Hana hands you the gem again. Her hand lingers for a moment on yours. “Sorry!” She takes it away, but then she puts it back. “Wait. It’s not weird anymore, right? I mean, officially.”

“No. You’re officially weird, Robocop.” Laki hitches up her bag, then pinches both of your butts. “Got all your stuff?”

“My bag!” Hana runs back to the other room. Keira laughs.

You gather up your pokemon after, then head out the door. You see your brother there looking at a small grass pokemon. It gets scared when it sees you and takes off.

“Oh, sorry.”

“It’s okay. That one comes by a lot.” He smiles. “Hey! You’re going back on your journey! Are you going to battle a gym? Huh?”

“Not yet. We’ve got to go pay back someone.” You’re eager to get that debt lifted.

“Oh. But after that? Who are you battling next? Are you going to beat Jane next time? Where are you going?”

“We haven’t really figured that out yet.”

“Oh. Well, take this anyway.” Your brother hands you a little pink bow. “I don’t know why, but when I saw it I thought of you.”

Your little brother was reminded of you by a pink bow. The girls all exchange little smiles.

“Oh! Great!” You force a smile. “It’s got little flowers on it. Bella will love it.”

Belladonna jerks her head up. She does not love it.

“Put it on!” He jumps up.

You look to the girls for help. Hana’s mind is racing but she can’t think of anything. Keira just smiles blankly. She covers her mouth in shock when Bella starts making noises. She must be using some really foul language.

Laki takes it and kneels before Bella. She whispers some things you can’t quite hear and tries to put it on. Bella takes it off immediately and throws it to the ground.

“We’ll uh, work on it.” You tell him.

You can tell he’s a little disappointed, but he believes you. “Okay!”

He leans up for a hug. You give him one. Keira gets involved too.

“Be good!”

“You too!”

You all head out, back on the road. You, Belladonna, Gobble, Mace, and Dice, and Keira, Laki, Hana, and their pokemon form a big parade. It’ll be a little before you get to the shore.

You reach out to hold Laki and Hana’s hands.

“Oh jeez. I knew you’d be one of those guys that does public displays like this.” Laki admonishes you, but still has a big smile and adjusts her grip.

“Let me know if it’s too hard. The feedback isn’t always the best.” Hana says quietly. Oh. You grabbed her robotic hand. You think about asking them to switch sides for a minute, but decide against it. Hana doesn’t like making a big deal out of her prosthetics, and this is the sort of thing that will come up a lot more as the three of you get more intimate.

Oh jeez. The three of you are going to start getting more intimate. That’s a lot of pressure.

Don’t think like that! It’s not pressure because it’s not anything you can’t handle. Remember how you kissed them before? You’ve just got to channel that some more. You’ll be fine.

Yeah. Okay. You can handle things.

On that note, you look down to Bella, whose running ahead, checking out each little thing on the road. Sometimes she gets close to Dice to taunt him into playfully biting at her, but she jumps out of the way. Well, most of the time. Sometimes he gets her.

Your group arrives at the beach, and Laki has to break the handholding to get Wailord out.

“Keira, can you help me translate something? I want to ask Bella about the bow.”

“Sure!” Keira beams. She finishes inspecting a small symbol on a sign, and satisfied that it’s up to snuff, she gives Belladonna her full attention, waiting for you to start.

You lean down and ask Bella about the bow. Why doesn’t she like it?

“She says that a fake flower is insulting. It makes it seem like she’s not a good enough plant that she needs some sort of enhancement. She’s happy with the body she has. She doesn’t want something like that.”

You guess the bow does sort of look like a flower. And it has a little flower on it. “Oh. I’m sorry Bella. I didn’t meant to imply anything with it. What would you want to wear instead?”

She hesitates, then makes a noise. “I don’t know. Something else. Just not that.”

She doesn't need to at least. Wailord can carry her, and Chinchou can keep her charged up.

And she did want to be more independent. Val did too. But they were sticking to the Yacht so Hana could get around safely and stay near power.

I wouldn't be surprised if Val started heading out on her own now.
>>
>>1632133
I think she'll be traveling with us now, be kinda awkward to have a "long" distance relationship with a lady we just got with.

I imagine there will be the choice coming up to have Kiera go with her to find out more about culture and such, though I kinda hope she sticks with us. Just seems to fill that WILD niche that I've just gotten used to.

Wonder if she and Polu will travel with Jane or if Jane will go solo for a while. Speaking of which I'm a little bit miffed that she'd say that she's "onto" us AGAIN after she's said that like 3 times now. I wanna show her what she's "onto" by being a great trainer and an even better boyfriend!

Oh god what are we gonna do about the intimacy... What about the camping arrangement? Is Kiera still gonna be so close?!? WHAT ABOUT THE FERTILITY RITUAL SHE KEEPS HINTING AT?!?
>>
>>1632097
>Then you'll get something intimidating that shows how tough she is
>>
You tousle her head the way your dad did to you. “Well, we’ll have to get you something else then. Something pretty. But you’ll always be the flower of my eye.”

She’s ecstatic!

You start tickling her, and she laughs and rolls. What surprises you though, is how strong she’s getting. You wouldn’t expect her to be able to put that much force on your arm by looking at her. You let her go and she plays with her black sludge instead.

“Alright! Let’s get that rod paid off!” Laki says, jumping onto her Wailord. Keira follows with a cartwheel.

“Hi Wailord!” You great the huge pokemon as you climb aboard. He makes a pleased noise.

"Hana, are you coming?" Keira yells. Hana stops standing around and jumps on as well.

The huge water Pokemon starts leaving under Laki's directions. She stands on it's head, pointing and commanding with outward confidence you find yourself admiring.

Hana lets out Chinchou to swim alongside. She seems pretty concerned with keeping a close eye on it though. You can’t blame her. The ocean is big and a little intimidating. Laki and Keira don’t seem to see it that way, but Hana is like you in that she didn’t have a childhood getting used to it.

Dice looks to you, and you give a nod. He leaps into the water to swim with Chinchou after giving you a quick little chomp.

You’re about to get up when Gobble comes and rests his head on your lap, going to sleep. You don’t have the heart to move him.

The horizon slowly swallows the island you were just on, but offers you a new one in the opposite direction in compensation. You stare off into the blue for awhile, thinking about nothing in particular. But you find yourself getting bored. You’ve been doing a lot of internal reflecting and you don’t think you can handle any more. You need something external instead.

I'd cap at 10, just in case.

A. Vulpix would be cool, but I'm hoping for a Helioptile myself. That guy is cute.

Riolu would be cool and fit with the whole aura thing, but it's also super popular because of Lucario.

At the same time, a Riolu with Mace's aversion to evolving might be interesting.

“Hana, can you pass me the rod?”

“Hmm? Oh sure!” She scurries over with it. You’re kind of at a bad angle to cast it out with Gobble on you. But she holds it with you and helps you get some good distance with your cast.

“How’s that?”

“Perfect! Thanks!” You’ve got a good feeling about that cast.

She doesn’t move from behind you though, and you end up leaning against her. Her metal legs to both sides of you, soft thighs under you, and the back of your head on her chest. Oh jeez.

“Comfy?” She asks.

“Yeah, are you?” You try leaning up a bit so as not to put too much pressure on her.

She gently pulls you back. “Oh yeah.”

A good amount of time passes, and you get a little bored. You think you fell asleep for a bit, but you’re not sure if you actually did or just closed your eyes for a moment.

With your options of ways to pass the time being limited, and the waves giving a little bit of a rhythm, you start to softly sing a song. It’s one from the radio that you grandpa used to like. He usually wasn’t one for pop stuff, but once you walked in on him singing it and he just embraced it. You’re very quiet at first, and shy. But Hana recognizes it and softly sings along too.

You’re both unsure, but you at least manage to remember all the words and not chicken out. You don’t think you’d be able to continue without her singing with you.

A third voice joins. It’s Laki. She’s getting a few words wrong but she’s belting it out anyway. She mostly knows it. You guess she’s gotten more exposure than most islanders to that sort of thing.

“I don’t know this one!” Keira says excitedly. “Is it a sailor’s tune?”

You shake your head. Hana’s voice goes way off for a second. That throws Laki off from laughter. The three of you barely manage to get the song back on track. But you do, and it works. And it ends up coming out pretty well.

The song ends with the three of you reaching a pretty respectable harmony on the last line. It’s more fun that good sounding, but you think you did a good job. Keira claps after.

You lean back onto Hana. “So, What kind of stuff would you like to go see now? My dad just gave me a list of places to see and I bet we could find some pretty great sights or Pokemon from some of them!”

“Oh. yeah. I wasn’t really sure about that. I don’t want to be the type of girl that smothers you.” She pauses and goes red for a second, before shaking her head. “And I don’t want to just leave Valerie either. But if you’re okay with me coming along, and sometimes me visiting Valerie if we go a long time without seeing her-”

“I’m okay with that!” Laki yells back.

“Then I wouldn't mind coming with. But again, no pressure. I’m sort of new to this and I don’t want you to feel lik-

The rod almost flies into the ocean, but Hana catches it. Still, you, her, and Gobble are yanked forward a good few feet before she gets it still. You’ve caught something. Something strong.

[I know this was a bit of a slow one. We’ll be going pretty long tomorrow and hopefully a bit faster on updates.]

Actually, there's an angle to Riolu\Lucario I kind of want to see more:

They're smart, somewhat independant and probably hard to raise because of it, so they're probably not the pokemon for just anyone, but at the same time, a lot of trainers want them for their balls-out power.

Sanctuary for the abandoned, anyone?

I don't think anyone's ever looked at them from that perspective. There must be a lot of trainers who abandon them because they can't manage them.

Kind of a sad story, but potential from edgy faggotry aside, it'd make for interesting perspectives.

I've seen it done before.

It was in a comedic nuzlocke run, but it was pretty cool.

I wouldn't keep suggesting Riolu if it weren't for the aura thing, but with it, it's an opportunity for an interesting little arc.

I will admit, Mienfoo is pretty cool, I'm just not that big a fan of Mienshao.

[Very little. I try to make a short list of a few things I want to cover and sprinkle it in as opportunities come up, but most of that goes out the window. Just look at how inaccurate my thread titles end up being. In my view (and I ain't exactly an authority here so keep that in mind) if you make sure to have the characters have clear motivations and put some obstacles in the way, everything else will come together naturally. If your MC is the Avatar, then I'd suppose keeping a balance is their goal. So who else is in the world, are their goals things that would upset the balance, and how are they going to reach those goals?]

If we're looking for an aura pokemon, why not Meditite? Medicham's black/white lore says that it can see aura by starving itself. If that's not a potential Herb arc then I don't know what is. It'll help Herb and the rest of the team meditate. Plus, it's got a mega too. And it covers our fighting weakness.

We would only be missing stab coverage against dragon, ghost, electric, and psychic.

That's few enough that we wouldn't really need to think too much about coverage again, allowing us to go for fun Pokémon like castform, dunsparce, goldeen, etc.

Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Croconaw)

“Woah!” Hana almost lands on top of you from the force of the rod being pulled. You steady yourselves and you grab onto the rod to help. You struggle to reel it in. Gobble quickly comes to your aid.

“Hold on!” She yells.

Keira scrambles to grab stuff out of the way. A lot of it was in danger of rolling off the edge.

You pull and pull and with great effort, bring it in onto Wailord’s back.

“Amazing.” Hana says.

“It’s beautiful.” Keira gasps.

Laki, busy reassuring and keeping Wailord on course, yells back, worried. “It looks angry!”

You don’t need a Pokedex for this one. You’ve seen it in art, television, and the patterns on children’s and girl’s and maybe one time your own bedsheets.

Dragonair.

It spits out the line, lowers it’s head, and focuses on you, the person closest to it. It snorts purple flame.

You look back to Hana. She helped reel it in. Maybe you should insist she take it on. She’d be too polite if you just give her the option. That’s the hard part with people like her and a little like yourself. Would she feel pressured?

Laki’s concerned face also highlights the danger here. Fighting on Wailord’s back could go wrong. But it doesn’t look like you’ll be able to calm it down easily.

“Hey there.” you cautiously approach, peeling back the wrapping on one of the sandwiches you packed. “Are you hungry?” You offer the food and a happy smile.

It whips it’s tail down and Wailord shakes. Everyone except for Dice manages to stay upright. Laki’s Meowth hisses, then leaps onto her shoulder with it’s claws out.

“Fu- frigging...ow.” She calms her voice down to avoid startling Wailord even more.

“I don’t think it trusts food from us, after the rod.” Keira says.

It’s not outright attacking, so that’s good, but it’s not leaving either. It’s a tricky situation. And while the first word you’ve always heard to describe Dragonairs was beautiful, the second is usually powerful.

Dice waddles behind it. He doesn’t appreciate the situation at all! But it hasn’t noticed him, either. You could try to retrieve him, but his pokeball is a few feet closer to the Dragonair and it might take that as a sign of aggression. You could have Dice attack with an Ice move, and he’d probably get a powerful hit with the element of surprise. You could also try to signal to Dice to get out of there, but he’s not exactly great at sign language.

You approach a few feet, then set the sandwich down and back away. It takes a moment to sniff and inspect it.

“You’re really pretty.” You tell it, while cocking your head to the side for Dice any time it’s not looking directly at you. Come on Dice.

Dragonair flicks the sandwich into the water. You feel a slight sting to your pride.

Dice looks directly at you, and imitates your head cocking. You try pointing without moving your arms and raising your eyebrows. He sits there for a moment. Then gets up again, and then waddles off to the side.

You sigh in relief as Dice takes the hint. He dives back into the water where he was swimming alongside, then pops up again near you, coming next to you.

“Good Dice.” You pat him on the head.

He gently nibbles at your ankle.

“Awwww.” Hana let’s out quietly.

“Biting means he likes you.” Keira explains.

“Awwww!” Hana’s louder and higher pitched.

That seems to set off Dragonair. It spins around, backs away a little, and frustratedly whips poor Wailord with it’s tail. Everyone shakes, and this time Wailord lets out a groan.

“Guys!” Laki yells back. “What’s going on back there?”

“Sorry! My fault!” Hana yells back.

Dragonair makes a beautiful but frustrated noise.

“It wants you to get rid of the rod.” Keira says. “It’s too alluring.”

“No!” Hana says. “Herb hasn’t even paid it off. He did so much to get it, too. I’m sorry Dragonair, but that just isn’t happening.” She puts a hand on her pokeball. “Just because you’re pretty doesn’t mean you get to bully others.”

>Try to get Hana and everyone else to match that pitch from before. Maybe you can annoy it away

I just like battling I usually shy away from votes that don't concern battle. We can pretty much get anything but we need a fire type to balance out Dice and Bella. After that Gobble and Mace need coverage from fighting types a flying type would work best, ideally my preference would be Salamance or a Dragonite, we need a fast hard hitter but I'm pretty flexible for that last spot. I just don't want Altaria since it's slow like a lot of our pokemon. I think at max we should have no more than 8 pokemon and we should avoid repeating types like we did for Kat.

I would also be really happy with Murkrow bro but everyone seems keen on leaving him be, I just want to get him to be a big boss with that sweet Honchkrow hat

You swallow your fear and try to summon some courage, then step forward.

“Hey now. You can’t just demand people’s stuff. Hana’s right. We’re keeping it and that’s final. But we don’t want to be unreasonable here. I’ll put it away if you stop hurting Wailord. And if you really want it, you can come wi-

It screeches and flings an attack at you. You feel absolute helplessness at that power and speed.

But Hana steps in front, blocking the the Thunder Wave with her arm. It wraps all around her, but she stands her ground.

“Hana!”

“It’s fine. They’re electric-proof now.” She smiles. Then she falls over. “Oh. Right. The rest of me isn’t.” He face is half smushed against Wailord as she lays there. “I’m okay. Just...yeah.”

You sigh in relief, but it’s short lived. Dragonair whips it’s tail down again, causing another quake. This one is much more violent now. Tirtouga positions itself next to Hana to keep her from rolling away.

“She says it’s not good enough. She wants you to get rid of the rod, now.”

Why is it being so unreasonable! And paralyzing Hana like that! You’re really feeling your brownies getting burnt now. You guys didn’t do anything wrong!

It moves to attack again.

The Dragonair comes at you with a spinning purple tail. But this time it’s a lot slower.

“Dice! Ice Fang!” You proclaim confidently. It might be a strong pokemon, but Dice has evolved and he’s got an Ice move for it! You can do this. You’ll stand up for your girlfriend.

Dice leaps into the air, fangs shining with cool power. Yes! He looks so cool!

But his tail catches on Hana’s upturned leg and he face plants onto Wailord, hitting it with the Ice Fang. And it gets worse! Freezing ice is spreading from the point of contact all over Wailord! Items get frozen to it.

Hana pushes herself up just enough to avoid getting her face stuck in the ice, but her legs and robotic hand are firmly frozen in place. “Oh that’s cold!”

Keira leaps up to avoid the wave of ice. You and your pokemon do too. Wailord jerks around and Laki is too distracted trying to keep it calm to notice.

You look back to Dragonair and get so startled at it coming at you that you slip backwards on the ice. That seems to save your bacon though, because that Dragon Tail just misses you.

Wailord is listing side to side as the ice overtakes it. If all of your stuff wasn’t frozen, it’d be lost. You struggle to try to get to your feet. Keira seems to handle it very easily. She slips and slides, but has the reflexes and flexibility to adjust effortlessly.

You turn to Dice, but he’s stuck on Wailord. How did he produce so much ice? Is it just because Wailord is so big?

Things are going more haywire by the second! You need to decide what to do first quickly.

You look back to Laki. Her feet seem stuck in place.

But that’s cut short as the shadow of Dragonair comes over you. It gets distracted for a second by Keira yelling something in Loanan at it.

It readies an attack to fire at Keira.

“Don’t hurt anybody else!” You yell as you kick up at it. It doesn’t really seem to hurt it that much, but it shocks it and grabs its attention.

Uh oh. Now it looks mad. It spins into the air and then comes crashing down at you.

The good news is that, thanks to the listening of the poor pokemon that’s carrying everyone, it misses you with Slam. The bad news is, it hits Wailord in the back. Shattered ice flies everywhere, but it’s not off of him yet. A crack forms around the pile of stuff, and that block of ice might come off with another good hit. Wailord seems to be trying to burst loose too, but just can’t.

It yells out in frustration and pain! Keira goes sliding off the edge as everything goes sideways, but catches Hana. Bella slides into her, catching herself on Keira's face.

Mace is flying in place with all his might as Gobble hangs off of him. Dice still struggles to get loose.

“Herb! Your pokeballs will float!’ Laki yells, retrieving her Meowth as it climbs up her face. “Your pokedex has a tracker for them too!”

She seems to think things are going to get worse before they get better.

Things do look pretty dire. Dice’s pokeball is under the ice, but the others are still on you. You struggle to hang on yourself as Wailord turns sideways. If this keeps up, he’ll go upside down!

You know Gobble can swim, but if he plops into the water he won’t be able to attack very effectively except with a few moves. Dice, you’re a little more worried about. You think Bella would float, but you don’t know for how long or how well she can swim.

You climb to the top of Wailord, which is is side. Laki has Wailord’s pokeball in her hand, but can’t seem to get loose. You think she’s getting ready in case he goes upside down and her and Hana and still stuck.

Dragonair looks at you. You think maybe it’s hesitating. You can see stormclouds forming overhead.

Maybe it's just planning it’s next attack.

You slip, but don’t fall. It sees the weakness and starts moving slowly towards you

Honestly in a setting with magical beasts just roaming around it's surprising this doesn't happen more often.

An overcast forms. It approaches you slowly, with purpose and determination. As it does, instead of attacking or trying to run or command, you start retrieving your pokemon.

It confused, hesitates for a second, but keeps moving after that. It wraps its tail around you and comes face to face, like it’s trying to communicate something. You’re completely stuck in it’s grip.

“You’re out of control. Is this worth killing for? Can’t we talk about this like mature beings?”

It looks more confused than ever. And a little offended or hurt.

“I never thought I’d see a Dragonair acting like this. I thought they were so amazing when I was a kid. I never thought I’d see one acting so spoiled that it’d endanger people and pokemon just to get it’s way. That starving Hydreigon was more well behaved. You might be beautiful, but this is ugly. All we wanted to do was just fish! Maybe get something to eat!”

Oh jeez what are you saying? You know what? Cheese it! You’re mad and you’re saying what you think. You’re at your limit here. But what has your big mouth done? Why aren’t you being nicer? You might be honest with your feelings, but is this really the time?

It looks out behind you. You’re not sure what it sees, but it turns its face from anger and intimidation to a much softer look. The grip loosens a little, then a lot.

You look back, and see a few small bumps in the water way back. You squint, and can see that they’re little Dratini heads.

“Are they your friends?”

It makes a quiet noise. It’s looking down, ashamed.

“It’s her children.” Keira translates for you. She’s still hanging there off of Hana.

It all falls into place now. “You said it was too alluring, but you meant for your them, didn’t you?”

It nods. Then makes another noise.

“It says it just wanted to scare us. But it doesn’t want to set this sort of example for her children.”

Oh. “So this was all-”

“Hey! Not trying to complain but this is a lot less fun than it looks.” Laki yells. She’s sideways, feet stuck to Wailord, trying to keep her head above water. It doesn’t look fun at all.

Dragonair gracefully dips under the water with only the slightest hint of a splash. You think she’s leaving, but then you feel Wailord slowly begin to get righted. It comes back up a minute after.

Laki and Hana are still trapped, but the immediate danger is gone. You’re fairly confident you and Keira and your pokemon can handle things from here.

It glances at the rod stuck in the ice.

Seems pretty Herb-like, Dragonair should help some more and reassure it. Though maybe instead of asking it to stick around Herb would still try to start fresh, maybe give a sandwich to the babies?

I don't think most people want one all that much, and the chance that we ever get one is pretty low. We can just give them a sandwich and let them go if we do manage to hook one

Honestly i think having Dragonair would've been cool, but it having young kinda puts a damper on catching it. Kinda like when Laki caught the alpha Kecleon and the reaction of the rest led to us releasing it

I blame nostalgia. I like gen3 pokemon the most, simply because they were my first game

Overall, we've had a pretty diverse range of pokemon. Only gen that hasn't gotten any MC time is gen7, but they weren't around for Kat's adventure. There's always a chance that we meet a cool gen7 pokemon
>>
>>1634916
I think they're overlooked because they're so late-game.

I'd be all up for a Goomy, Noibat, or Jangmo-o! Though I'll be honest I'm still rooting for an A.Vulpix and Misdreavus.

Other interesting mon to me would be Ralts, Beldum, Victini, or a Golett. Goddamn Golurks are cool, literally stone Iron Mans.

Well. Our path is clear: Find a Jangmo-o.

You look at it looking at the rod. It still seems bothered by it.

“Will it make you feel better if I promise not to catch any of your young with it in the future? If we get one by accident, we’ll just let it go.”

She doesn’t seem to entirely trust that, but she seems to accept it.

“Good. You’ve got to realize that people are going to come to fish. If someone gets killed there’ll be a lot of trouble.”

“It wasn’t catching fish that made her angry. It was luring her children away from her. She was teaching them to fish.” Keira slowly approaches and runs her hand along it’s side. It’s a little started at first, but it accepts her touch. “She says that we weren’t in any danger of losing our lives. She had it under control.”

You’re not sure how much you trust that, or how smart that is. “Well, if you want to set a good example, stick around, and please help us out.” You feel like someone’s hijacked your mouth. You never just give commands to strangers like that. You decide to try to soften it. “And stick around a bit. Maybe we can start over. I’m Herb. This is Keira, Hana, and Laki.”

Laki makes a face, clearly communicating that she’s not happy with Dragonair. But she’s busy tending to Wailord to say anything. Luckily the ice is loosening a little. Dragonair, your pokemon, and Keira help take the rest off.

“Heh. Wow. That uhh, was an experience.” Hana says, still paralyzed. You help her get comfortable while working to get the rest of the ice off. She’s a little shaken. “Umm, can you set me more in the middle? Away from the water? And make sure a pokemon is watching me.”

Wailord gets a potion from Laki. She apologizes to it for only having the one. And that took a decent bit of effort to dig out of the ice. You notice her rubbing her ankles, too. She must have been at a pretty awkward angle for a while there.

Dragonair looks a little more ashamed, now.

“I’ll be right back.” Keira translates for it as it slinks back into the water.

You look to Wailord, Hana, Laki. You could try healing, but you don’t know how much energy you have. And you don’t know if you can cure status conditions. Where do you want to start?

>Wailord is the logical choice.
>Try curing Hana anyway
>Try healing Laki. She downplays her injuries
>Just comfort everyone for awhile. There’s no danger anymore

Sorry Wailord, then Hana because she's practically immobile right now. Laki immediately after if we're still able to do anything(Arceus imagine if we got a crit here). If we can't can we at least promise to massage her legs and feet after landfall? Lewd or not, just so she starts feeling a little better.
>>

Yeah heracross is also a fav of mine but now it would be hard for dad if we had one. A joltic or sewaddle could be fun.
>>
>>1634950
>Wailord
>Laki
>Hana
Wailord's pretty beat up, and we're relying on him with our lives. Laki's physically injured, and probably trying to downplay the severity. Hana's paralyzed, and that sucks, but she's not actually wounded. Also, it's better to try the things we know we can do before trying something completely new.
>>
>>1634962
Poison, repeat typing, ree, etc. I wanted one too until Bella hatched.

Actually, since we want to cover our fighting weakness, what about one of the bug/flying types? I know we had buterfree last time (not that Fel got a ton of spotlight) but scyther/yanma/combee/spewpa could be good.

You rub your hands together, then place them on Wailord. Poor guy’s been having a rough day. He’s literally carrying everyone else on his back.

You close your eyes and concentrate. It’s like a black and white world where it’s just you and him. You can feel your breathing sync up with his, and you let out a wave of healing warmth into him.

He relaxes. You can feel it. He’s doing a lot better now. Great, in fact. He’s got a spring in his swing. Yeah!

But you? You’re feeling pretty drained. You had no idea a pokemon could have so much constitution. You might be able to do more for Laki or Hana, but you’ll at least need a breather, first.

You open your eyes and see a very curious Keira. “Your aura is neat!”

“What do you mean?”

“When you heal. I don’t know how to describe it. But it’s neat.”

“Thanks?” You look over her shoulder and see Laki smiling at her newly healed Wailord. You remember how she reacted when she first got it. It seemed like she saw it as a burden. Maybe she still does, you’re not sure. But she cares, still.

A fish flops onto Wailord. Then another. Then a torrent. You cover your head with your hands, but they don’t seem to land directly on anybody. Just all around. They don’t flop, either.

Dragonair appears again, offering a small spin. A few Dratini appear behind it. They look like they’re having fun, tossing fish onto Wailord like this.

“It’s an apology.” Keira says. “She says she knows it’s not much, but hopes it helps.”

There’s more fish here than you and your friends could ever eat. Wailord and Gobble included. A few slide off the edges and back into the water to Gobble’s horror. Dice helps save a few.

“This is way too much!”

It shakes it’s head. It’s nothing. It slinks back into the water. Laki, unsure what to do next, has Wailord continue on.

Well that was sudden. You wonder if you'll see her again.

(Continued)
>>
>>1635113
>You wonder if you'll see her again.
We wondered this about Sharpebro. I miss him.
>>

You and Keira help prop up Hana and move a little closer to Laki so you can all chat. The island is finally coming into view.

“So. I guess we should have another large pokemon ready to ride on in case something like that happens again.”

“Gobble’s close to evolving, right?” Hana offers.

You look over to Gobble. He’s on the other side of Wailord, scarfing down fish as if the colossal pile might up and walk away.

“Yeah. I guess so.” You’d be happy for him, but at the same time things are changing so fast as it is.

You chat for a bit more. About this and that. Hana keeps looking worried anytime there’s a medium wave or small bump. You guess she’s got a bit of a fear of being in deeper water. She’s incredibly relieved to be on land. She doesn’t say anything, but it’s clear from her expression.

It is a bit alarming that she’d sink like a stone. The more you think about it, the more it bugs you, too.

>Don’t worry about it. You’ll figure it out as it comes up

The group makes camp at the beach. Hana is still paralyzed, but the consensus seems to be that sleeping it off should take care of that. You offer to heal it, but Hana tells you that you did enough with Wailord. She keeps apologizing for not being able to help with the camp, though.

“It’s fine.” Laki gets fed up with it. “Just...I don’t know. Make it up another way tomorrow.”

“Umm, sure. How?”

Laki grunts as she lays down a tarp. “Whatever comes to mind first that you can do to make us happy. I don’t know. What are you good at?”

Hana gets that look on her face again.

You sit down beside her and hand her a plate of fish you prepared. You’ll have to look into smoking the rest or something.

You look at her legs and arm. There’s got to be a subtle way to bring this up.

“You want to ask about my robot parts.” She says bluntly.

“I...how did yo-”

“Sorry. I’ve gotten good at spotting it. We’re a couple. Or...part of a couple.” She beams at that talking about it. “So yeah. Ask away! Any questions. About any part of my body.”

“Okay. Here it is. Today got me thinking. I've heard there were some prosthetics made that resemble some of the fish pokemon's fins. Have you ever thought about looking into those?”

“It’s come up. The issue is that they have heavy parts that are stuck right in there. Part of the reinforcing that keeps me from doing stuff like ripping myself apart.”

Laki and Keira make a face.

“Sorry. Gross. I know.“

“Why don’t you get something less strong?” Keira asks without a hint of reservation.

“Well, they offered that, but I didn’t like feeling...vulnerable. And changing now would mean rounds of surgery. I don’t want to cause any more fuss than I already have.”

Huh. Well, that answers that. Still, maybe there’s a solution for her anyway. You at least have the comfort of knowing that Gobble and Dice will eventually evolve to be large enough to carry her on water. Until then you’ll be worried, though. You let your mind wander while you eat. You’re not technically inclined enough to come up with something yourself, but maybe you could look into it, or talk to the people that installed them in the first place.

Keira hands you a towel and soap. “You probably smell funny by now. Wanna come bathe with me?"

You look to Hana and Laki. They look at each other. They watch to see what you’re going to say.

Your mind races a little. Should you? It’s not like Keira is implying anything besides just a quick dip in the stream and getting clean. She’s just like that. They know that, right? Is that weird now? Well, weirder? Should you act like it’s no big deal to keep up your manly streak? What sort of tone do you want to set, here?

“Okay, sure.” You act cool. “Let’s all go. Hana, Laki, are you in?”

Laki’s a bit taken aback. But she acts cool too. “Just don’t get any funny ideas about expanding before you prove you can handle us.” She shakes her head. “Still can’t believe you pinned me.”

Before you prove you can...oh jeez. Put that thought on hold. “Hana? I don’t want to put you on the spot or anything.”

“Oh. Umm, jeez. In front of everyone, huh?”

You suddenly feel guilty. You’re being a bit careless with the poor girl’s feelings. “It’s okay if you want to stay here. Or if it bugs you I can stay.”

“No no. I’ll go.” Hana mumbles. “We’ll all go expose soaped up bodies. No big deal.”

Well, she’s got an excited look in her eyes, so she must mean it.
You and your pokemon head down. Gobble carries a sackload of fish for the three minute walk. Bella is excited to do anything with you and Laki. Dice enjoys a swim and Mace, surprisngly doesn’t mind some light water and the sound of a stream. He likes to just lay back and take it all in.

Laki keeps a towel on until she sees Keira nakedly canonball, then she just sighs as if she gives up. She looks to you though, before she drops it. “One, two, three!”

You drop yours. You want to give moral support. But Laki keeps hers on and laughs.

“Laki!” You pick up Bella to hide yourself.

She laughs. “Kidding.” And drops her towel. Slowly, and with a wink, then takes Bella from you.

Hana is sitting in a dark corner, water up to her neck and grass hanging over her.

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

She peels her eyes off of Laki and onto you. You feel the need to lower yourself into the water to get her full attention, though.

“Yeah. But I’m good here. I can’t really move around anyway. But it’s nice.”

Her eyes dart between Hana and Keira. But after a few moments, she finally stops fixating on that. “It’s nice.”

“What is?”

“Just being out here. My heart is always racing and I say a lot of weird, stupid stuff, but it doesn’t matter that much.” Togepi floats by. Hana smiles. With great effort, she manages to get her arm to reach out and touch the pokemon as it goes by. “It makes me worry though. Now there's a lot more at risk to screw up. Weird people out. Say or do something wrong. How do you always be the person people want to be around? How do you be the person your pokemon need you to be?”

>There’s nothing you can say to weird me out

“I’m worried too.” You confide.

“I’m the only one keeping my goodies above water and nobody’s paying attention to me.” Laki says, sitting herself down on your knees. “You’re going to make a girl feel self-conscious.”

You do a double take. Not just because you find yourself touching two naked, fun, amazing girls. But because Laki called herself a girl like that. It feels like she’s feeling a bit vulnerable right now, herself. But that’s all the more reason to continue. She should hear this too.

“I’m worried I’ll screw it up. I’ve never had a girlfriend, let alone two. But I’ve been thinking a lot about things. I think, and this is probably going to sound really corny, that if someone just has integrity, and they’re honest, things will work out. I think people have been trying to teach me different versions of that my whole life.” You think not just to your grandpa, but your sister, your parents, something your brother said once. Heck, if you look at Mace you also see a good example of someone keeping personal integrity at the front of their priorities. “Anyway, now I’m the one being weird. So don’t worry, I don’t think you can weird me out. Or maybe we’re all just weird together. Not that I think you two are weird! I mean, not like, in a bad way.”

Laki puts a finger on your mouth, mercifully. You try to meet her eye contact. “You’re being weird.” She half-teases.

You smile, then look to Hana. “I guess it helps that I’m surrounded by people I trust.”

“You always know what to say, Soft Hands.”

That’s not an accusation you get a lot. But you’ll take it today.

The three of you share a truly naked moment. Dice curls up on the shore around Bella. Dice sits by the water’s edge blowing streams at the water, enjoying some uncharacteristic fun. Gobble offers a bit of fish to Tirtouga and Meowth. And the three of you take it in under the moonlight, in the warm evening stream.

Keira appears out of nowhere, and finding nowhere better to sit, places herself right in Hana’s lap. “What are we doing? I hear something about being weird.”

Hana looks a little overwhelmed. You’re about to say something, but Laki waves off your objection before you put it into words. “Pretty much.”

“Oh. Look at your auras. This is a hug moment, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, sure.” Laki embraces it. “Hope Herb isn't expecting a hug as tight as that one from Dragonair, though.” She puts her arms around everyone. Keira grins and does her best to do that too. You find yourself being pulled in.

Hana’s breathing grows faster and faster. Her face is squished between Laki and Keira’s chest and your stomach. Laki has an expression that’s half rolling her eyes at her, and half smug planning.

It breaks and Keira gives Hana some space.

Laki gets up to stretch. “So, where are we headed after we drop the rod stuff off?”

(continued)

I don't know, but I'm excited to find out.

I for one can't wait for them all to have chances of "competing" to take the others to exhaustion with their special skills. Herb with his sensual touches and impressive tools. Laki with her endurance and Hopefully kegels. Then Hana with her eagerness and built in vibrator.
>>
>>1639022
If Herb can heal away his own muscle fatigue and refractory period, he's going to be one hell of a lover.
>>
Let's say hana is a fit, 5'5" girl who has a bunch of muscle and would weigh 150 lbs if she were pure flesh.

Let's say all her metal is tungsten.

Two whole legs and one whole arm is abou 45% of a person's weight, so let's take off 45% of 150.

This gives us 82.5 pounds of flesh and 67.5 pounds of missing flesh.

That missing flesh is replaced by tungsten which is 19.6 times denser than water/meat.

Giving Hana 1323 pounds of cybernetics.

Let's say to support that she's got an additional 10% of tungsten for move-assist so she can haul all that around.

So we add another 130 lbs.

130+ 1323 + 82= 1535.

To stay completely above water, Hana would need to displace 1535 pounds of water (like with an inner tube or life jacket.)

Water weighs about 62 pounds per cubic foot.

1535/62 is about 25.

A decent, 25-35$ inner tube should have a volume of about 30 cubic feet.

So why doesn't Hana wear an inner tube while riding Wailord, just in case she goes overboard? Herb and Laki should be wearing life jackets.

It's possible (though unlikely) Hana doesn't wear an inner tube because her unequal weight distribution would make her tip over.

But that just means we need to get her a custom inner tube.

Seriously, I want Hana to be safe.

Plus, if we get her to swim, we get to see her in a swimsuit.
>>
>>1639594
All she really needs is some form of quick release system. Losing her prosthetics in deep water would obviously suck ass but without them she'll just bob like bouy.
>>
>>1639796
Well, she said that there are heavy parts that don't come off. So, I assume a quick release wouldn't help. Especially since it's probably hard to swim with one arm and no legs.
>>
>>1639823
You'd find you float extremely well with one arm and no legs actually. Herb would probably be at a greater risk of drowning at that point.
>>
>>1639829
I'm assuming she has a tungsten spine.
>>
>>1639836
Okay that does change things dramatically. I shall rescind. Carry on then.

If she weighed 1500 pounds she'd be breaking floors, stairs, and furniture left and right. Tungsten isn't used in orthopedics or prosthetics because it is fuckheavy and doesn't really have any useful relevant physical properties.

Divide the weight by 4 for titanium and then take half again because they aren't going to be solid metal of the same volume as the replaced structures. She'd probably do fine with a regular life jacket or a pair of water wings.
>>
>>1640127
It was really more of an upper limit worse case scenario thing to verify that there is a flotation device for her no matter what. Hopefully a life jacket and water wings would work.

>>
>>1641519
as cute as that sounds, an easier and more portable option would be a self inflating life vest. Wouldn't take up any space, so she would still be able to move around normally on Wailord and cuddle with Herb.

Only thing that could go wrong is if she got knocked out and couldn't pull the cord. Then again, that could be said for all of us. We really should buy a couple low profile ones for emergencies. If there's a storm or something, Wailord isn't gonna be the most stable platform. Plus that way we can have a Castaway/Swiss Family Robinson arc where Herb gets trapped on an island with Jane
>>
>>1641588
Any flotation device Hana uses will need to have a buoyancy rating of about one pound per pound Hana weighs above 150.

So, assuming Hana weighs 210 pounds, She would need a life jacket with a buoyancy rating of about 60 pounds. I've only been able to find life jackets that go up to a buoyancy rating of 50 pounds. Of course, Pokemon technology tends to be a fair bit better than its real world equivalents.

And some inflatable life jackets self-inflate without having to pull the cord.

Anyways, the girl needs some sort of PFD, and everyone else should probably wear one too.
