Afte a long break I am back to continue the quest for stopping a no named mad man, growing a collection of little sisters, sneakily forming a harem, and save the world all at the same time.

For those that do not remember or know me I began running this quest about a year ago in the early days of /qst/ but had to go on a rather long hiatus given my studies at the University.

This tale follows the adventures of a young girl and her friends traveling through unknown lands, fighting wars, working with ancient dragons, time traveling, and magic wonder. Taken to this strange land against her will she fights the destructive force threatening to not only destroy this land, but all lands.

The summary for this quest found in the Pastebin has ben fully updated to include detailed summaries of each thread for those who wish to read up and get back into things.

Last time after having a ravishing night with the centauress Vara and Azura you were confronted by the No-Named Man in your mental scape. He presented you with an invitation to come meet him in person and save both your old wizard friend and witch benefactor. Though he asked that you come alone. In your humble opinion, it was likely a trap.

So people will be able to catch up or go over a few things before hopping back into it I will officially begin posting a 12pm PST

The current decision was to meet the No-Named Man with an army rather than go alone.

Thank you all for either joining me once again, or for the first time, and I look forward to writing for all of you

Damn. He doesn’t give you much of a choice but at the same time going alone would be suicide. Thinking to yourself, and Kagehana, “I cannot trust someone who explodes his subordinates heads, steals babies and curses everyone. We will go but we will take an army.” But from what he said it sounded like the vampires who you kicked out of the castle were now working with him. And how to deal with that you had no idea. You were able to kill a vampire lord by yourself, but that was under some incredible amount circumstances. “If his new allies are the vampires who used to serve Mother... then we will kill them. What does work well against vampires?"

“Well, from your example, likely a good strangling and a stake to the heart.”

“In general.”

“I’m not sure, isn’t there some book written by a pervert about that.” She dismisses

“Those don’t have the ‘weaknesses’ I want.” Though you paused for a moment. Just maybe if you meet the right vampire in charge you could solve this situation as you have been of late. Glancing over to both Vara and Azura asleep you smirk for a second. Doing things this way was awfully fun after all.

“Still we should get back and make preparations for marching north.” Even with what little forces you may currently have. But Azura’s show of troops yesterday have you largely relieved in that way.

You waited until Lady Azura was up and able to walk with you back to the castle, before leaving though you say a pleasant goodbye to Vara and promise to visit her again when you could. Blushing slightly she responds, “okay, I'll be waiting.”
>>
>>1653913

You discuss your plans for a march with Azura on the way back. “All we will need to do is assemble the force and move out. We had already planned on sending troops north to Kanon if you want we could simply stop at this meeting stop on the way.” She points out.

“That would probably be best.” Kanon did want troops for relief but with the enemy so close perhaps it was better to engage them openly rather than send a defense force. “I’ll have the harpies send out notices to the villages when we get back, your campgrounds make a perfect location for a meeting point of all forces.” Azura nods to your words.

Still, dealing with a large number of angry vampires and whatever demon army this man may bring would be difficult, and although you and your friends provide an edge what you say in that man’s mountain still has you concerned. Not to mention you still had no idea what he was capable of.

Theoretically, you could send an extra harpy scout to another former ally, maybe the Black Baeleoric, or Queen Umina of the Mermaids in Biwa, or Adrian and the lords of Wa. But you didn’t have the luxury of time. Your constant use of harpies as scouts has stretched your supply thin and only the fastest of scouts could reach one of these people in time. Even then if they are found out by the enemy it could prove disastrous.

“Welcome back Onee-chan!” you heard Taka shout as you and Vara returned through the front gate of the castle.

“Hey Taka, anything happen while we were gone?”

“Besides Melo complaining, no, thankfully it’s been pretty quiet. Though the other representatives were eager for your return.”

“Me too,” you ruffle your sister’s hair and smile before heading back to the meeting room.

“You return.” was Fey’s greeting to you as you walked to your seat.

“Yes, sorry about that, but Azura’s forces are indeed ready for deployment as I have hoped. And we are going to need it…” The council members raise a brow to your last sentence. “It seems that the No-Named Man has begun to make his move. He has both Auriel and Yaga hostage near her hut and without them battling him overall will be difficult.”

Fey stood up from her seat, “Are you seriously suggesting we march to fight him now?! We had all just gotten here! There has been no time for coordination and we were planning on sending what little we had now to Kanon for support.”

“I know… but we’ll have to redirect that.” You look to Melo, “Sorry, but in this way too we can protect the village.” Melo herself looked have checked out but when you mentioned Kanon she jolted back to attention. After mulling it over for a good 10 minutes she finally affirms back to you, “Alright, I trust you…” in a rather tired voice. You nod.

“That being said we should call all available forces to Azura’s campground just north of here, it’s a perfect staging point.”

Sei nods, “Of course, I shall send word at once.” She turns to her nearby non-girtablilu escort and instructs them to send word.

“No need for that,” you stop them. “I shall have our fastest harpies send word to all the capitals, time is of the essence.” In the end, it was too risky to use any of them for another force which may or may not help. Instead, it was best to increase the coordination within the army you currently have.

Fey sighs, “I hope you know that our people are hunters, not fighters… still, we’ll do what we can.”

“Thanks Fey.”

“Finally they appear to have new allies in the vampires that once occupied this place, If you know of any counter for vampires please tell everyone, I am going to search myself here for ideas.” With that, you stood from your seat and signaled the end of the meeting, the representatives all began to chatter amongst their escorts and each other while you headed upstairs for Mother’s old room. It may have been a long shot to find something up here, but maybe she kept a diary or something that may help.

Searching the room you found it oddly well kept for what happened in it. Just here a few steps away was the location where you had killed the lord vampire, and yet the decor looked spotless. Rummaging through some of the books you find what looks to be a rather old tome, almost falling apart by the looks of it. Picking it reads “Van Helsing, Annotated”

“?” You open the book carefully to find diary entries by some Dr. Abraham Van Helsing” and his recount on how he managed best and defeat the vampire Count Dracula. Interestingly though, after each of the entries is a note written with a different style expanding on Van Helsing’s writings. Helsing wrote a section on the use of garlic and the allergic reaction it had on vampires, what followed was a note reading “Not permanent but man does it give you one hell of a headache for a couple weeks.”

Flipping through you find more entries on ways Helsing had deduced to destroy a vampire, each of them had small notes that seemed to counter the claimed permanent death such as garlic though interestingly the section on silver was missing any comments. The section read that Silver would corrode away the limbs and if injected into the torso would cause their bodies to decay.

Sounds like silver is your best shot. Flipping one last time through the book you couldn’t help but check the section on the uses of wooden stakes through the heart. As you feared there was a note at the bottom, “Permanent so long as the vampire remains stabbed and in their coffin/ home. The vampire's body naturally decays for up to a month. After which death is certain.” You frantically flick through pages to find more, “To undo effects one must perform the blood ritual with sacrifices sufficient to the power of the vampire. The blood of bloodline relatives and those of special connection have increased the effect. You flick back to the front of the book and see it signed by Dr. Van Helsing, but under that, it is signed by “Maelena Ravanni.”

“Damn…” was all you could at these revelations. The sections on wooden stakes has you uneased but for now you found your weakness in silver and that should suffice.

“Kagehana can you grab Nessera for me?”

“Sure Onee-chan” Your shadow slithers out of the room and returns a minute later.

“You asked for me?” can the demon mother’s voice directly behind you. After reading Van Helsing’s writings you couldn’t help but jump slightly at this surprise.

You shout slightly and then regain composure, “Y-Yes, I need you to go to Queen Kanon and inform her that Wilhelm will need to make weapons of silver on mass.”

She raises a brow, “Aren’t you sending harpies there today?”

“Yes,” you explain, “But given the situation if Melo were to be the one to report back to Kanon this needs to be properly conveyed. It is extremely important that this message is received correctly.

“Hmph, very well then, you will have to look after my daughter then, I will likely not be back before the fighting starts.”

“I know… thanks, Nessera.”

“It’s the least I can do. After all, I have yet to repay that man for what he did to my village. If I can help kill him in anyway I’ll do it.” Nessera, as cold as ever melds back into the shadows as you hear a gust of wind flow through an open window.

Now that that is settled all that is left is to finish the preparations for the muster of your forces. Though somethings still bothered you.

Something is still bothering you about what that time said in regards to the permanence of the death via wooden stake. Something about the as long as they remain in the house/coffin. Could that mean that theoretically Mother could come back if you take her outside the castle? You take a look around the room. You managed to find the small doll which se had been using to represent herself in the diorama.

“I couldn’t be…” You examine the doll but could not find anything out of place, nor did you feel any magic force emanating from it. To be fair though your specialty may not lie in magical detection and analysis. You double check the book, “permanent so long as the vampire remains stabbed… but the doll itself seemed to be in perfect condition. Still, your mind wouldn’t let it go and for now you decided to keep the doll on you. Just in case. When you put the doll away and pull your hands back though you notice there was a small amount of blood left over on your hand. Examining it, it was indeed real though it evaporated strangely after a minute or so. You’ll have to look into this more later, but for now the battle ahead takes priority.
>>
>>1654223
You work your way back downstairs where you inform the council members about the plan for use of silver weapons and to make use of any silver anyone could find. No surprise that there was no silver in the castle, but you figured it was worth a search. When you got a moment you gather your friends for a quick talk.

“So in the next couple days we will be fighting the no named man.” you said somberly.

“And I can’t fucking wait!” shouted Victoria, hoisting her arm in the air. She seemed to be the only one looking forward to open warfare fighting, as the rest of your friends seem to be thinking over the possibilities that are to come.

You start again, “Realistically, our troop count is smaller than his… at least from what I remember in that tower…” you pause, “That being said all of us here have something special to add.

Yuki jumps in, “If we stick together we’ll come through.”

“What about the rest of the army?” Anna pulls away your group's attention. “We seem to always come out together but if what you are saying is true then our army needs all the help it can get. If we focus too much on ourselves what will become of the others?” Anna pauses, “If we do add something special then perhaps it's best to spread us out on the battlefield into sections that way we can benefit the Army most.”

Yuki lowers her head, “But that means…”

You look to Anna and Yuki. They both had good points, with your friends together you feel like you can take on anything, but that may be at the expense of the alliance itself. One group doesn’t equate to a proper alliance if you lose leaders during the fighting. Then again does that matter? These are your friends! Time and time again, they have proved the most important thing to you. So who cares if others get hurt, as long as they are safe.

“How about we split everyone into groups for two then, that way we can maximize our help and still have someone to rely on.” You friends nod in agreement. “Now then who wants to go with who?”
Your friends and sister all simultaneously look toward you.

Well then..

Giving it some thought you announce your pairs, “I’ll go with Kagehana” You hear your shadow’s voice, “Well duh…”

“Victoria..” she looks over to Anna, “You get to go with Yuki.”

“WHAT!” Both Anna and Victoria yell. After they realize they had done this in sync they give each other a quick glance turn away from each other and Victoria remarks, “Fine, not like I would you holding be back pipsqueak like usual.”

Anna responds in an equally dejected attitude, “I’m more worried about Yuki than anyone else brute..” She puts her nose in the air and ignores the situation.

After being interrupted you do your best to rescue, “That being said I wanted Yuki with Vitoria since given her fighting style she’ll likely need more healing than the rest of us. Also, Anna, I am putting you with Aki, you are both overall well-rounded fighters and can compensate for each other.”

Anna remains pouting and simply huffs at the decision. Aki looking at you says “If you say so…”

“Rozalin given your speed you should team up with Taka a fast moving group like you two would work well.”

“Ara, it’s that great Taka.” Rozalin reaches over to Taka’s face and smiles, “Don’t worry, “She runs her hand slowly down her side. We’ll make sure each other is safe.” Rozalin gives a small inticing smile.

“Heh heh yeah…” Taka knew by now this was par for the course of Rozalin but her personality sometimes still threw her off.

“Serena, I want you to stay safe until your mother comes back okay? She will mee up with us as soon as she can.”

The young imp meets your eyes and says, okay! Serena will stay safe, just like Big Sis Aki always says!” Aki smiles and bends over to pat Serena on the head, “Yes dear.”

With that settled your talks of battle preparation largely ended. You all have been doing this for quite some time and didn’t need to know anymore than who you were fighting and when?

That being said the day was coming to a close and this would be the last night in the castle before setting off in the morning. How best to spend the night.

>Talk with people (who?)

"Kagehana, we need to talk." You motion for the shadow demon to come closer then give her a hug.

"I know you believe No-Named Man to be your father, but you are wrong. He kidnapped you as a baby from your family and just used you. And if he did get along with the shadow demons then he would already have the shadow orb. My guess is that he wanted to use you to get the orb or something like that."

>You then focus your feelings in the love you have for Yuki and your sisters, and yes for Kagehana too.

"I... I regret killing Mother, she was a monster but deep down she was still a scared little girl I couldn't save because that would have screwed up time. I don't want to hurt you or the others but this... is a war. People is gonna die. I kicked the vampires out because for them humans were just food and I couldn't control them. I don't really understand what mother wanted, maybe she wanted to create a strong human to prove herself wrong for having become a monster? But the truth is, humans are strong as a group. If a humans wants to become strong as a monster, it starts to become like a monster even if the body remains human. I... I have killed, I told Baba Yaga to change that idiot into a cute centaur girl and to seal you away and replace you with that fake personality. I keep imagining me and my friends as monster girls, even the human ones. Sometimes I think I would be happier as a kitsune. Should I just give up? Should I become a monster? The No Named Man might still be human, but that's just his body. If he gets the two orbs then no one will be able to stop him. I... I was just a young girl, now look at me. I grew up way too fast. I have helped others but also killed so many... and... maybe my memories of Earth might be fake. I am just so confused. What do you think I should do?"

You honestly wanted to do quite a lot this night, but you began with the nagging feeling you had about Mother. Looking again at the doll in your pocket which was still oddly bleeding slightly you think on what it could all mean. You close your eyes to try and concentrate.

“Onee-chan is something wrong.” came the voice of your shadow sibling now hovering in front of you.

“Ohh, Kagehana just thinking about this stuff about Mother…. I mean could she still be there? You think?”

“Well, some part of her, her memories we keep finding in you don’t we? Maybe you could find more if we go back and take a look around inside your head.”

You sigh, really all this need to dive into your mental space has gotten tiring, but as all the times that came before, it was necessary. “Alright then, let's go.”

You lay down and Kagehana induces you into your deep sleep. Soon you found yourselves once again at the familiar cafe table. Kagehana appears from the darkness. “Okay Onee-chan I can help, but you also need to focus we may be in your world now, but the vampire would not make it so easy to find what you are looking for.”

You close your eyes and focus on Malena

You focus what you con on Mother, Malena Ravanni from what you remember. You and Kagehana are quickly transported to a large glowing orb. You feel liquid forming in your hand, looking at it you notice the blood from the doll coming out in larger quantities and it began to flow faster. Still unsure of anything you carefully reach out toward the orb and when your hand touches the sphere a flash of white envelopes you and your sister.

Before you was a young girl, approximately your age sitting at a table in the recognizable castle with pen and paper.

“Could this be…”

A voice came from behind you, “Now Malena this is very important, there is a way to resurrect the recently deceased of our kind, though… difficult.” You turn around to see what you clearly remember to be the vampire lord Aleister. His dress was as elegant as you remember and his demeanor was stern.

“But how father? We are already dead.” Malena asks

The lord vampire laughs, “Yes, tis true, but our kind can be rather special in some cases due to our manipulation over blood.” Aleister gives himself a small cut in his hand and then pulls some of the blood out into a perfect ball to rotate in the air as an example. “Should the blood be drained from a human what happens?” he asks.

“They die.”

“Correct. Now, what happens when a vampire be drained of their blood?”

‘They… die?”

“Almost, but you see we have a special ability, should we loose blood we can replace it.” Aleister floats the orb to Malena’s face. Confused she looks up his face and the orb flew closer to her mouth. Aleister gives a reassuring nod, and Malena eats the orb of blood he offered.

Malena froze and then after a few seconds seemed to be wound up with energy. “Amazing!” yelled as she began to almost hyperventilate, and fidget in her small chair almost uncontrollably.

“What you feel now daughter is the power of the bloodline, the blood from someone connected to you. This blood is one that can be used to resurrect another member of our line. Though as I mentioned before it must be soon, for vampire’s when killed decay like other beasts.” Aleister turns away from Malena, “Come now, I’ll teach you the ritual.”
>>
>>1655679
Malena jolts from her seat and runs around Aleister playfully, hardly able to control her energy. He didn’t seem to pay it any mind and in fact, he looked rather happy. Aleister places a dummy body in runed circle just outside the castle. “Now Malena, you must prepare the appropriate amount of blood. We vampires are hungry creatures, and as such vampires are instilled with the life of the creatures they eat. That being said for this fellow it may take a life or two of some cow or sheep to awaken, where someone like I may take an entire town’s worth of people and livestock. Though remember the bloodline and those that are connected have higher affinity. He creates a small cut on his thumb, “For instance if the same man that would require a few cows or sheep may only require a drop of mine.” The blood from his thumb was about to fall from his hand as he explained and Malena looked eager to catch it with her mouth.

Aleister laughs and wipes the blood from his hand before it fell, “Now now, this is important.” Malena pouts as he continues to explain, “You must recite the words as follows, “Rise one who death they can transcend, arise one who again yearns for blood, arise for the feast which the living has brought and let your red night begin again.”

Aleister took Malena’s hand and repeated the process once more and had her mimic his own movements. “Good,” he says satisfied by Malena's understanding of the ritual. “Finally there is one last part, it isn’t necessary but should you have the coffin of the vampire in question the ritual is made easier, less blood and the recovery time of the re-resurrected is far shorter.”

Malena asked confused, “Do I have a coffin? I have slept in the bed this whole time...”

Aleister, “Of course dear,” He kneels down to Malena’s height, “They are not necessary of course but extremely helpful, I am having yours made now, a beautiful black with red roses. Perfect for my daughter.” He smiles and pats Malena gently on her head. “We are planning on keeping it upstairs, locked tight behind magical locks off of our main rooms.” Aleister stands back up and offers his hand to the young vampire. “But I believe that is enough of studying, for now, let's head back and see what might the servants have planned for dinner.”

“Yeah!” Malena happily accepts his hand as the two walk back into the castle. As the doors to the castle close so too does the vision.

I just want to clarify, but focus feelings of love what do you mean? Like spend the night with them? Be talking with them? Because how you have the order set up it looks like you'll be talking with just with Kagehana.
>>
>>1655681

You find yourself back next to the orb with Kagehana, “ This Aleister, he reminds my of my Father.” Kagehina gets a rather warm expression on her face, no doubt reminiscing on the time she spent with the No-Named Man she treats as her father.

“About that, Kagehana we need to talk again about you and your father.”

It’s hard to tell but you can feel her raise a slightly unamused eyebrow.

"I know you believe No-Named Man to be your father. And I know I don’t have the full authority to say this, but you are wrong. He kidnapped you as a baby from your family and just used you. And if he did get along with the shadow demons then he would already have the shadow orb. My guess is that he wanted to use you to get the orb for him later"

“Onee-chan…” The shadow looks downcast as you move in for a hug. “I have thought about what you are saying, but I still want to talk to him… I’m sorry that the other day I did not listen to you fast enough but I didn’t know if it was my only chance to talk to him. He is the only person who actually knows the truth. If your idea is right then without him the only other way we can find out is by going to the Shadow Lands on the northern island.” So promise me, if you won’t talk to him then we have to go there.”

“Alright Kagehana, I promise that after we deal with him, we will go to the Shadow Lands and find out more about you. I know, we will find something there about you, I just do.”

Kagenaha brings up her gaze to meet yours, her previously solemn self turned back to the neutral… yet mischievous shadow you know, “Alright Onee-Chan. I am trusting you.”

You nod, “Good, now there is something this memory diving brings up and I want your opinion.”

“?”

“Do you think... Should I revive 'Malena'? She was evil and a monster but if she is back then those vampires would just abandon that man”

Kagehana puts on her thinking face and waits for a second to answer you, “I mean you do hate the bitch right?”

“Well yes at that moment anyway, I was infuriated, but you must admit that bringing her back to deal with the vampires would remove the No-Named Man’s allies.”

“Yes, it could. But if you did bring her back, what is to say she wouldn’t team with the No Named Man and kill you for killing her? Even if she helps you then she might just betray you later down the road. To top it all off you have no idea where she even is! If you do want to bring her back you need her body like the vision said, and the blood necessary for the ritual. Aleister said that vampire lords like him could require town’s worth of blood to work! How do you even plan to do any of that in the first place with such little time?!”

She does have a point, but theoretically, you can still do it, you just need all of the right tools for the job, the prime one being her body which you still did not know laid.

>Despite that, bringing her back is too important, we have to do it as soon as possible
>We need to deal with it when the time comes, for now, we should focus on the battle
>You’re right just where the hell am I going to get all that blood?!

"I found a loophole, less blood is needed if you use that of her family... and by her point of view she was the 'Mother' of a lot of people. Also she hates that man and would never ally with him unless forced to. She wants to save both worlds and that man getting the two orbs would destroy them."

This.

"Also, I have you a chance and you were hurting me too. Plus I got this." You show her Malena's doll. "Is connected to her somewhat, and if needed we could use it to control or hurt her. Despite what it looks like, I do learn from my mistakes."

>You then give Kagehana a hug "I am selfish, I care about people but I care more about my friends and family. You are family, It has not been easy taking care of your needs... and of Rozalin needs but I do it because you are important for me. That's the big difference with that man, for them people and monsters are just tools to use. He doesn't trust anyone and uses magic to force his servants to do what he wants."

You once again check the still bleeding doll in your hands, “Despite what you say, bringing her back is just too important right now and we have to do it as soon as possible.”

“But what about all the obstacles!”

"Also, I gave you a chance and you were hurting me too. Plus I got this." You show her Malena's doll. "Is connected to her somewhat, and if needed we could use it to control or hurt her. Despite what it looks like, I do learn from my mistakes."

She looks at you pensively.

“Well I also think I found a loophole in the blood ritual less blood is needed if you use that of her family... and by her point of view she was the 'Mother' of a lot of people. Also she hates that man and would never ally with him unless forced to. She wants to save both worlds and that man getting the two orbs would destroy them.”

“So what, are you going to sacrifice the children that you saved? If anyone she cared for most and had the most connection to it was you Onee-chan.”

“T-That is true…” and it does present you with options. Still you are making this a priority and should begin searching in the morning.”

“Fine by me..”

With that settled you say one last thing. “Finally Kagehana, there is one that thing I want to talk to you about.”

“?” At this point you can tell there is a noticeable albeit slight, face of annoyance, as if you seem to be continuing this conversation indefinitely.
>>
>>1658051

“I want to talk to you about some rather important things… first of all… as you can probably tell "I... If a human wants to become strong as a monster, it starts to become a monster even if the body remains human. I... I have killed, I told Baba Yaga to change that idiot into a cute centaur girl and to seal you away and replace you with that fake personality. I keep imagining me and my friends as monster girls, even the human ones...

You faintly she your shadow rolls her eyes, “You know you tend to say the same kind of things a lot Onee-chan. You get really hung up on these things don’t you.”

“Not now, please just listen.

Kagehana sighs, “I think Onee-chan, that you tend to overthink virtually everything. I like you more when you let loose and half fun, you know... “ Kagehana’s slithery hand reaches over and starts to slowly rub your side.”

“W-Wait. Kagehana I am doing this so that you can feed off of my more ‘positive’ emotions this time.”

“Oh I know, and it is working.” She smiles devilishly as you see her growing ever so slightly, “But this way is more fun for me.” She moves her face closer to yours and it’s clear she expects you to engage as usual.

"Fine, but I will have to eventually tell Yuki and Aki that... they will have to share me." You then take off your clothes and play along.

You could almost swear Kagehana has wolf ears for a moment but that's probably your imagination. Since she looks a lot like you, that means you know her weak points and so you use them. That takes her by surprise and you take advantage of that. Then is her in charge and you let her enjoy it for a few minutes, until your emotions end making the shadow girl too excited for her own good and you respond to her affection with even more enthusiasm. As things continue you two are almost like lovers who have known each other for years, and while you both reach an almost draw at the end, that's only the first round.

Before you know it, it has been almost two hours, you are exhausted while Kagehana is full of energy yet strangely doesn't feel like moving and retires back into your shadow.

"Next time it will be with your girlfriends, after all as your shadow they are my girlfriends too." Kagehana says in a teasing tone then finally let's you rest.

You barely remember your dreams, something about you playing the role of a mischievous and perverted Kitsune that seduces a naive Yuki Onna and then they are joined by a naga?

You wake up feeling better and then hear Kagehana laughing.

"Did you.. link my dreams with Aki and Yuki?"

"Maybe, why don't you ask those two what they dreamed about?"

You had come to instill positive thoughts, but you had satisfied your craving for a whole day or so and you felt yourself wanting Kagehana the more you thought about it. "Fine, but I will have to eventually tell Yuki and Aki that... they will have to share me." You then take off your clothes and play along.

When you wake up in the morning you felt more tired than you did heading into your dreamland last night. Maybe it was a side effect of that time you spent with Kagehana, or diving into Malena’s hidden memories. Either way you can tell that today isn’t going to be pleasant. You stretch as you get up from the bed. You said to Kagehana last night that getting Mother back was your priority and since you figure the army wouldn’t march as soon as you wake up you had some time to look.

Gazing over your options you once again realize just how large this castle is. The dungeon alone had five different levels, one of which was called the arena, and although the idea of encouraging child fights upset you, you looked again on the map for what might sound like good places to hide a coffin. From what you remember when you first escaped the device could be voice activated.

“Mother’s Coffin.” but the device meets you only with silence to which you sigh. It was worth a shot you suppose.

You step back and think about that vision you and Kagehana saw last night. Aleister said something about a coffin being constructed and stored in a room offshoot of hers. It was worth a shot.

You head back upstairs to Malena’s room but there were no doors on this floor besides her’s. Strangely though the hallway did extend from the rooms to a small window. Something didn’t feel right to you and you walk over examining the craft of the castle walls. While running your hand across the wall you fill a piece of the stone gives way to your hand. When you pull your hand away it becomes solid once again with the wall and you hear a series of clicks.

“?”

Soon a large piece of wall swings open into a dark unlit room. No matter how dark the room may be, however, you can clearly see a large black object with red inlay at various places. As you approach you smell the familiar copper which came with Mother’s drinks during your talks. You didn’t have a good way of knowing but you found what looked to be a latch to what you assume to be the lid of the box. Opening the case you discover a small girl inside, with a beautiful black and red dress and a gaping wound in her chest above her heart. The wound was still bleeding though the pillowy red lining of the coffin did not show signs of bloodstains. You check the doll to see if bleeding with the girl in the box. No doubt, this was Malena and if you didn’t know for a fact that she was dead then you would say she looked sound asleep.

At this moment your shadow appears before you, though all you could really make out were her bright red eyes. “So… you found her. But what about the ritual, where are you getting that amount of blood, you mentioned something about family but who would that be besides maybe you? You’re the only one she really cared about anyways.”

“About the blood… I have an idea.”

Your shadow scoffs and chides, “I just hope it doesn’t involve mass murder, that would get tedious”

“Just help me move her outside, and be careful, we don’t want the sun to hurt her somehow.”

“Roger Onee-chan…” Having a shadow that can transform into various shapes and sizes sure was convenient. While heading down the caste and to the outside you get some odd looks from the representatives and entourage staying in the castle. You wave them off and say this is just special preparations for the fight to come. Which technically, wasn’t a lie.

“Onee-chan are you ready!” came a voice from down the hall running toward you. As the young kitsune drew closer she noticed what you were carrying, “Ahh, is that a coffin? Are you making preparations for if you DIE?!” Taka gasps, “ONEE-CHAN NOOOOO!!!” she cries as she latches onto you.

“C’mon Taka don’t be silly,” you pry your sister from your body, “I’m not planning on dying anytime soon I was just going to…” Wait, should you be telling other people, especially your friends this openly. Yuki, Anna, and Victoria have particular reason to hate Malena and if you told Taka, who knows how soon word might spread that you resurrected such a frightening woman.

>Keep it a secret until necessary (come up with a lie)
>You should be transparent, they have a right to know

Don't worry the ritual will happen how you all suggest, but I just wanted to get this out of the way first

“Taka, do you remember that other little girl who was here you and the other kids played with a while back?”

“Ohh yeah, the one with the cute dress and the suprisingly mature tone?”

“Yes, well… I am trying to revive her so to say.”

“Revive her… wait a minute” Taka’s eye’s widen, “She's the one you killed that time?! She’s the person that kidnapped you all?!”

“Y-Yes,” you admit, “It might sound crazy but she wasn’t evil… as a vampire she was a monster, but she wasn’t really evil.” At least not compared to what you are going up against now.

“Hmmm….” Taka takes a second to think, “Well.. if Onee-chan says it’s okay then I think it’s okay. I’m sure it will work out.” She smiles optimistically at you.

You return her smile, “Thanks Taka, I think so too.” You ruffle her hair one more time and send her on her way to continue preparations. You didn’t run into anymore of your friends and once outside you set the scene for the ritual. You had to do it from memory but you drew the circle as you saw it in your head. You open the coffin and take another look a Malena’s peaceful face despite the gaping wound still in her chest.

Your shadow talks over your shoulder, “So what’s your idea?”

“This.” You pull out the doll you have been carrying and place it with Malena. You figured that if the doll itself was bleeding and it was connected to her then it would best help in her revival. At least that is how Aleister explained it. When you do so you notice that Malena had clutched onto another object in her hands. You didn’t get a good look at it until now, but you see the Mommy doll she had all those years ago. Like the diorama in her room, you move her doll next to it.

“Now, time for the ritual.” You say to psyche yourself up as you bite your lip. You lean over and kiss the sleeping vampire on her forehead leaving a blood red mark. If Kagehana was right about your connection than this, along with the doll should be more than enough. Standing up from your position you back away slightly, hold our your arm and begin the chant, “ Rise one who death they can transcend, arise one who again yearns for blood, arise for the feast which the living has brought and let your red night begin again!” As you finish the spell the circle glows violently red and the ground beneath shakes slightly. The circle begins to spin, ever rapidly as it rises from the coffin and then lowers again. On the way down you noticed that all the blood that had been flowing from the doll, from the wound, and even the mark you left on her forehead seeped back into her person and her body began to reconstruct itself where the stake used to be implanted. After a minute or so the circle slows to a stop and the red glow fades. You step forward to gain a closer look and see that Malena’s body was completely healed and no signs of blood from either her or the doll was flowing, she looked vibrant and beautiful in her sleep as if the color was coming back to her skin.

At that moment your eyes stop as you see movement in her face, her eyelids struggled as if being held closed by some unknown force in the air but then Malena’s eyes opened. “I’m…. awake…” Were her first words as her eyes adjusted from being closed all that time. She seems to move her eyes about until her gazes falls to you. She smiles, “Hello... Darling.”
>>
>>1660261

“Hello…” This was a lot more awkward than you thought it would be. Reviving the dead was no big deal, you had done so with Taka before, but reviving the person you had killed with malice intent was different. “I’m glad your back…”

She continues to smile, “Darling, you must have missed me so much to want me back. Poor you, if I weren’t still paralyzed from my condition I would offer you a hug.”

“Wait you're paralyzed?!”

“For the moment, coming back to undeath has its recovery period. At the moment the most I can move is my head.” She demonstrates her ability to shift her head and seemingly that was it.

“Mother… Malena.. A lot has happened.”

“And you must find bringing me back to be that important?” She gazes at the surroundings, “ I have many questions… but could we move inside for now? Fresh sunlight for the revived vampire is not healthy, and I am sure my servants are worried sick about me.”

You rub your neck, “Yeah… about that….” As you move her inside you explain the basics of the situation, the No-Named Man, you kicking all her servants out of the castle and how they are now his allies, the ultimatum he gave you and the coming clash.

She could hardly keep herself contained and if she had not been partially paralyzed she would have jumped up from her coffin, “You did all that?! Darling, you had to know this type of thing was going to happen!” She rants and raves about your missteps until she finishes with a sigh, “I am gone for only a moment and it all comes apart.” Another deep sigh, “I assume you wish me to deal with his vampire allies? Seeing as they are my servants.”

“That was the plan… with you back I’m sure they’ll quit,” you said as if a calculation.

“And that was my purpose for coming back.” She takes a Rozalin-esque tone, “Ahh, Darling you’re just so cruel! Wanting me for nothing but my status as the head of the house!”

“You know that is not the only reason…”

“I do?” she smiles, “What other reason would you have then?”

“You’re… not evil.”

She laughs, “haha! Quite something to say to a vampire Darling!” She continues to laugh and although this made you slightly angry you held it together. Coming down from her laughter she continues with a far more subdued expression, eyes downcast and looking solemn, “Well Darling, that… makes me feel better about all this, thank you.” She pauses and refocuses her gaze on you, “I’ll help, but I believe you owe me for killing me previously.”

“I am listening.”

“For starters, I think I deserve to be on this council of yours. We are all like minded after all.”

You stop and ask yourself, is she seriously making demands right now? After all, she put you through she thinks you owe her?! Just where does she get off?! She looks to be patiently awaiting an answer but you can do one better than that, you can put her in her place.

"Oh? Then you owe me for messing with my head and the aging curse. Malena looks almost blown away from your outburst of emotions. “I-I suppose that is fair… though I would like to clarify somethings. First of all, if he could get into your brain he could have gotten into any of the others like I could if I wanted to or cared. My theory is that like me he finds you more interesting than the rest of those you travel with and has taken an interest in you.” She adjusts her head, “Secondly you accepted that my plan ultimately worked, though… roughly I’d say, and I would appreciate you not brainwashing me. Also, and this was something I should have asked immediately, but how on earth did you know the ritual to resurrect a vampire?! That was a secret ritual passed down only by the heads of the bloodline. My servants could not have known how to resurrect me, so how could you?”

You point to your head, “You ended up leaving some important information in here when you left. I saw a memory of Aleister teaching you the ritual.”

“How fortunate that memory gets accidentally stuck in your mind…” She sighs, “I have seen what your friend Yuki is capable of dress and though I dislike pink I can accept her being my tailor for the time being. Though I must ask you refrain from any of your weird ideas of dress.” She shoots a quick glare.”

You wait for a second to see if the vampire would continue as you were expecting an answer to arguably the most important part of your rant. “So, about the council…” you goad her to continue.

“Perhaps, then I will earn my spot during this battle. When my servants return we will surely put the man at a disadvantage, we shall see.” She levels her gaze at you, “Also Darling we have talked about this several times and although your persistence can be endearing it can make you sound like a broken record. I do not wish to be your little sister or by extension your plaything, and I suggest you leave it at that.”

You grit your teeth, to you her persistent declining makes her sound like a broken record. “Fine, whatever. Just make sure to deal with the vampires.” You turn away and continue the treck to impromptu council meeting room when you hear a small gasp come from the coffin. “Darling where are the dolls? I could barely feel them in my palms but now they are gone.”

“Those, I am having Kagehana hold onto them for the moment.”

“Why?! If we are going to the meeting either hide them or give them to me. The information regarding my past was to stay strictly between us. You may not owe me anything, but please, do this for me.”

“You don’t need to worry for now, they’re just insurance.”

“For what?” She shouts.

“Just in case.” You say with no further explanation. For now she will just have to deal with it.

Still, besides that you had to make some more things perfectly clear it seems.

You pat her softly on the head, to which she seems violently indifferent, "Malena, stop calling yourself Mother. The guilt I felt for not being able to save you won't make me revive you a second time. You might be a good leader by vampire standards but that's it. Please... try to not have everyone hate you even more. Right now me having you under control is what's stopping the others from murdering you. That was clearly a lot of info for her to take in and she just holds for a second, “I suppose that is satisfactory. Though if my hunch on you persists I may not have to use the nickname ‘Mother’ anymore.” She smiles, “Now let us meet with these representatives and head out.”

You nod and continue your walk to the meeting area. Once there you saw all three members of the council dressed in battle gear, except Melo who seemed to be having a hard time getting her’s on, “There got it!” She yells triumphantly as the large chest protector gets tightened in place.

Azura calls from across the table, “Umm representative Melo, I am sorry… but it is on backwards.”

“Lack Words? Who lacks words? Me?” Melo puffs up her backwards chest, “Well, I happen to be an excellent speaker, and I can talk more if that’s what you wan-”

“No Melo,” you cut her off as you enter the room with the open coffin behind you carried by shadow.

The representatives and your friends, who you just noticed were also in the room jump back. Well, except Taka, who saw this coming. “W-What is that?!” they shout in surprise.

“This is our card to play against that man’s new vampiric allies.” You stand up the coffin so Malena can properly see the scene. “Lady’s I give you former ruler of this castle and the vampires, Malena Ravanni.”

“WHAT?!” came a near in unison shout from everyone. Except for Taka of course who seemed busy looking for stray hairs to pluck from her tail and Victoria who instead opted to shout, “THE FUCK?!”

She smiles and using an immense amount of strength raises her hand for a wave, “Hello everyone, it is a pleasure to meet you,” She turns to your group, “And see you all again.”

Meeting her smile was an angry gaze from most of your human companions who went through her twisted system of abduction. Yuki, in full battle gear knocks her bow at the vampire. “IT WAS YOU BACK THEN?!” She yells in increasing volume as she remembers the time Taka and Kagehana had played with a seemingly harmless little girl in these castle walls.

You move in front of Malena, “Wait, Yuki, stop!”

“THIS MONSTER KILLED ALL OF OUR PARENTS AND STOLE US. AND YOU’RE DEFENDING HER?!”

“Yuki please, calm down for just a second…”

SHE TOOK IT ALL AWAY!” SCHOOL, FRIENDS, FAMILY, OUR LIVES, AND YOU BRING HER BACK?!” You start to see what looked to like tears forming in Yuki’s eyes as she continues to put pressure on the bowstring. “EXPLAIN!”

The air was thick in the room as a silence hung over you all. Both your friends and council members were waiting for one of you to speak or break this silence. You just hope it wouldn’t be an arrow shot to the defenseless Malena.

You motion your arms in a downward calming nature, “Okay Yuki you have to listen to me just for a moment.” You look back to Malena, “I’m sorry but this is the only way..”

“Darling, what are you going to do?!”

“You close your eyes for a moment to think and once self-assured you begin, “Yuki… Malena is that little girl we meet in the past who her evil father believed was a witch. And who the villagers wanted to kill and then she ended being the only survivor only to be forcefully turned an indoctrinated by vampires.”

A small “What…” was Yuki’s response. Malena’s however was much louder, “But you said! You!”

“She is that scared little girl?” Yuki exhaled in shock.

“Was.” You make clear. “And Yuki, you have to understand if we are fighting against the vampires the one sure way to win would be to use her, their leader. I understand that you hate her, but for now at least, please stop and let’s get through this.”

Yuki looks conflicted and the bowstring she was tightly gripping begins to lose pressure until the arrow slowly falls from firing position. You walk over and embrace Yuki, “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure she will not cause us any more harm. I promise.”

Yuki returns the hug and wipes away her tears in the process, “Okay… I believe you.” After sharing a sweet moment you pull away.
You whisper in her ear, “Also she has agreed to let you dress her up so go nuts.” You just added that in to try and lighten her mood. If only by a little.

Looking back a Malena she seems to be trying her hardest to hide her face. You walk back over to the coffin, “Please Malena…”

“Not another word.” Was all she responded with. She turned back to the council, “Now that that business is settled, we best be off”

Your party and the council members were slightly confused, though it was obvious that Malena wanted desperately to change topics. A little surprised at the abrupt changed Sei was actually the one to continue the conversation, “A-Are you sure that you would be able to calm the vampires Malena?”

“Lady Ravanni, please.” She glares at you and then immediately returns to her polite demeanor to the rest. “And yes, I am confident, there are special abilities we heads of the bloodline can implement, and I assure you I can get them to follow me once more, though having my strength return before then would be nice.” She stretches what she can and demonstrates the limited ability of her person. “If you don’t mind me asking, I would like someone to--someTHING to eat, maybe some livestock?”

Lady Azura answers, “At our camp, there are plenty of herded animals, we can make a small sacrifice for victory. The gods will be satisfied with the exchange.”

Malena licks her lips with anticipation, “ Wonderful.” She looks back down toward you, with a clear look of being upset. She still manages to edge out a nonthreatening question despite her expression, “Until then can I expect your shadow to carry me?”

“It would probably be easier on Kagehina to use a cart of some sort I’m sure we have one from all the traveling these representatives have done.” As you say that Lady Azura signals to you that it is indeed the case.

You then announce, “Alright then, I suppose we best be off to meet with the armies.” After seeing that the rest of the members we ready, except Melo who still didn’t know how a chest plate worked, you went to get equipped before leaving.

It would be a long march that would feel even longer thanks to the weight of your arms and armor, but for now, you held your chin up high as you made your way to the centaur muster fields.

>What should you do during the march if anything?

You realize you hadn’t spent too much time with your friends since you got back from the tour with Azura. You guess things just got so busy so quickly you just never had time between all that was happening with Malena. You all didn’t have to split until the actual fighting anyways so now might be a good time.

You move closer to your group, “Sorry everyone for not being around much a lot has happened”

“You could say that again.” Anna sighs.

Victoria slaps Anna’s back in response to her sigh, “C’mon pipsqueak you need to get hyped up to crack some skulls! It’s been a while and we need to let loose every now and then.” Victoria looked absolutely beaming with anticipation.

Anna rubs the spot that was abruptly hit, “Not all of us get as ‘hyped up as you’ brute. Some people are actually concerned.”

“So what you say, bet I get at least twenty?” Victoria blatantly ignores Anna’s comment.

Anna huffs, “Hmph, I can get twenty-five easy!” She turns to face Victoria and pressure back.

“Weren’t you listening I said at least twenty, my real goal is thirty!”

“Well, I can get thirty-five no problem!”

“Forty!”

“Forty-five!”

“FIFTY!”

“Now now you too,” Yuki breaks the shouting match by physically pulling the two apart. The scene was enough to make you slightly chuckle at. Aki who was slithering next to you, however, didn’t seem to think it was that funny. In fact, she had been oddly silent.

“Hey Aki, are you okay.” You take the basilisks claw in your hand.

“Ohh, just thinking about everything up until now…”

“You’re worried aren’t you, about us not being all together.”

“Is it that obvious?” Aki turns her head slightly away.

“Aki, even if you're wearing your mask I have known you long enough to tell you were concerned about something.” Partially because she had a tendency to be concerned about almost everything. Though especially you.

“I just have a really bad feeling about this, I had it in that tower last time we were in the north, but now it’s worse…” Her grip on your hand tightened.

“It’s okay Aki, if one of us are injured we can help each other, and you can always call me if you’re in trouble.”

She looked suprised, “But how will you hear or know?”

You gave a reassuring smile, “I will. Don’t worry”

She meets your smile and although it wasn’t as bright as yours you could tell it held genuine hope, “If you say so.”

Truth be told you had no idea if you could know when she was in trouble or help her depending on the kind of situation you get yourself into. But it made her feel better, and strangely it also did to you as well. And that’s what really mattered.

When you got the chance you paid Rozalin a small visit, “Hey there,” You pet the bicorn softly on the back.

“Ara, are you here for a ride to the camp, for you, of course, I would let you ride me anywhere.” she said with extra emphasis on “anywhere,” making some suggested eye glances.”

“No, it’s best you not carry too much and rest for now, but I wanted to ask you to do something for me in regards to your charm magic.”

“Ohh? There is someone you need to be taken care of?”

“Sorta...” You have Kagehana bring you the two dolls from out of your shadow.

“My what are these?”

“Some dolls that Malena cares for and are in some way connected to her…”

“Are you suggesting… I charm the dolls?”

You didn’t expect her to pick up on your plan so soon, “Yes. Wait, no. But yes, just…” caught slightly off guard you collect yourself, “What I am asking is... If you can enchant the dolls”

“Of course, but why?”

You shrug, “I don’t know, but I think it can have some… interesting effects on her if my theory is right.”

“Is that right?” The bicorn licks her lips seductively, “Alright, give them to me and I will imbue them.” Once given the dolls Rozalin's hands glow a slight pink as you see a steam or some type of substance bath the dolls and seep into it. After a few minutes, Rozalin announces that she is done. Immediately you check Malena but she is still held up in her coffin and you haven’t heard a noise since you left. Rozalin says, “It might take awhile to see any results, but I am hopeful, hehe.” As were you.

You were nearing the centaur camp and before entering Lady Azura strode on ahead to inform them of your arrival, in the distance you could see large masses of peoples slowly approaching the camp. Also before entering you turn to your friends. “Everyone, I am sorry I did not say this yet but I am true, deeply sorry that I brought her back to life.”

Yuki still looks slightly upset but states, “It was for the best, at least for now she will help us, if she does right, then just maybe she can make it up to everyone.” Yuki grabs her arm sadly, “But that’s a big maybe.”

Victoria looked indifferent, “Bitched killed a guy I hated and I got to kickass for fun. Good shit on my end.”

Anna looked an odd mixture of the two, “I must admit it has been fun in some cases, but still she has to make up for what she did.”

Taka jumps up, “I’m just glad there is another of us to play with!”

“Hehe, yeah” Serena joins in.

The rest of your party is indifferent about her revival as she had not directly impacted them, though if you imagine Adrian was here he would say something like, “Well now I'm emperor and married! That worked out I guess?” as you imagine him shrugging.

You enter the camp and find a small table set up with the leaders sitting at it. On the tabled layed a map of the nearby location and the massive field that lay at what is projected to be the heart of the conflict. There was a tad bit of forest to the west and a large hill on the right it noted. In the far back was the calculated location of Yaga’s hut and current prison, along with Ariel.

“Ahh good, you are here,” Azura notes as she waves you over to the table. “We are coming up with the battle plans for the coming battle. Here take a look.”

On the map, you saw the projected battle lines, one unit of Arachne on the east with two units of centaurs in the center. One unit of scorpion folk on the west and the estimated trajectory of the harpies from the northwest. However what still remained a mystery was the enemy fighting force. If it was made up of pure vampires then maybe you would have an easy time of it, but knowing him... somehow you doubt that.

>Design a battle strategy to use for the fighting the No-Named Man and his unknown army

I have attempted to detail it here but I was also thinking of drawing it out for added clarity. If you would like that I can make it tomorrow as I have to go soon.

"Mmm... the centaurs are frontal warriors so they are the most likely to get injuries. So Yuki and Victoria with them. The Scorpion folk use poison so Rozalin and Taka can help distract the enemies with charm and tricks so they become easier targets. I and Kagehana will go with the Aracne since we are adaptable and... Nessera and Serena could help the harpies. That leaves Akitani and Anna that... well there are two units of centaurs so they could go to one of them? This is not going to be an easy battle. Even if we don't have to fight the vampires that man probably has recluited from dark elves and others. I think the best use for harpies is hit and run tactics. And... well... I am actually used to fight in smaller units. The cute little Vara from the centaurs is a strategist and most of the leaders have more experience leading big armies that I do. So... besides dark elves there will probably be a mage or two. Also the stupid firebird and a man willing to do anything to win or at least cripple us. A thing to remember is, we can't let enemies go, I offered one of the generwls that man has the chance to surrender and it blew up a whole city instead. While there will be brainwashed enemies we can't risk saving them."

You then sit down an expression of horror in your face. "The kids... he probably will use the kids he kidnapped... damn it."

Gazing over the map of the area you start to develop some ideas about where best to place some troops and also… You glance toward your friends... where best to place them.

"Mmm... the centaurs are frontal warriors so they are the most likely to get injuries. So Yuki and Victoria with them. The Scorpion folk use poison so Rozalin and Taka can help distract the enemies with charm and tricks so they become easier targets. I and Kagehana will go with the Arachne since we are adaptable and... Nessera and Serena could help the harpies. When Nessera arrives that is. That leaves Akitani and Anna that... well there are two units of centaurs so they could go to one of them? This is not going to be an easy battle. Even if we don't have to fight the vampires that man probably has recruited from dark elves and others. I think the best use for harpies is hit and run tactics. And... well... I am actually used to fight in smaller units. The cute little Vara from the centaurs is a strategist and most of the leaders have more experience leading big armies that I do. So... besides dark elves there will probably be a mage or two.

As you explain you are pointing on the map to key locations to make your ideas clear.

“Also the stupid firebird and a man willing to do anything to win or at least cripple us. A thing to remember is, we can't let enemies go, I offered one of the generals that man has the chance to surrender and it blew up a whole city instead. While there will be brainwashed enemies we can't risk saving them."

You sit down and let your words sink in. The members of the council and Maelna seem to take your ideas in thoughtfully. “I think…” Azura starts, “That this will work. What of the silver weapons we are producing?”

Sei answers, “We have gotten what we could from our own supply though it isn’t nearly enough to supply the whole army's worth.”

You jump in, “Kanon and the harpies from the northwest should be bringing them when the fighting starts. We’ll just have to hold out until then. But… if my plan works then we may not need them.” You glance to Malena who crosses her arms and pouts. “Speaking of which we should open with you.”

She continues to pout but agrees, “Of course.” Malena pushes herself with some effort up from her coffin and slowly stands on her legs, “At this rate I should be alright by then.” She smiles with confidence as she wipes the sweat from her brow.
>>
>>1674163

You didn’t know how to feel about all this and you can tell from the overall quietness in the camp as the troops roll in that there were doubts hanging in the air. Regardless, there wasn’t much you could do about it now until the fighting came.

You stood from your seat, “Okay then, everyone takes some time to get ready, we will leave for the field in an hour.” Everyone around you nods in agreement as each council member stands from their seats and goes to inspect their own people. Sei seemed to be speaking to her people while Azura was leading the centaurs in prayer to the gods of battle. Fey, was weaving off hand while inspecting the battle plans to calm her nerves and that just left your friends, you, and Malena, waiting for the last of the alliance forces to stroll in and prepare for marching.

Looking down at the barely moving vampire you got an idea. You smile as begin talking with Malena, “Say, you sure you’ll be okay for the battle?”

Malena manages to puff our her chest, “Of course! I am the head of the Ravanni Bloodline. This much is nothing and I can easily shake it off in an hour.”

“Really now?”

“Yes really.”

“REALLY really?”

“REALLY REALLY!”

“In that case…” You quickly dash down and embrace Malena in a tight hug.

“Huh?! Darling what are you doing?!”

“If you’re good to go then you should be able to simply push me off oh head of the Ravanni Bloodline.”

“Y-You know I said in an hour right? This is ridiculous!” She scoured and gave a disapproving glare into you.

But you didn’t budge, “Push me then.”

“What?! Why you!” Malena presses her hands up against you and attempts to push you away. You brace for a shove though you didn’t feel much pressure come from the vampire's hands at all. In fact looking at Malena you can tell she was absolutely giving it her all to push you away. Her arms were shaking, her knees were weak, and it looked like she could barely stand on her own two feet. Frankly, she was all shook up. Her hands started to grip your clothes instead of repel them after she seemed to think it a futile endeavor, “Darling, please… you know I can just not right now…” She said solemnly.

Seeing her that way satisfied your teasing itch you had for the young girl and you soon pulled away, stood and patted her on the head. “Sorry Malena, just testing you a little was all.”

“Yeah… my patience being one of them.” Malena folds her arms and pouts as she slowly begins to walk away, “I will meet with you as we leave. I am going to get some more rest before the battle.” She waves as she makes her way back to her coffin to recuperate.

Now you also remember that the young Vara, once Varaemon was a competent, albeit unruly, leader of the centaur people, maybe she will have any ideas. Trying not to disturb the sacred rituals of the centaurs you walk over to Vara who was sitting near Azura leading the prayers. You waver her down and although it took her a second to recognize you were calling her she quickly, yet quietly comes over to you.

“Y-Yes? W-What is it that I can do for you?” The pink centaur asked sheepishly, taking care not to look you directly in the eyes.

You decided not to small talk and cut straight to the point,“Vara, you once led the centaurs right? Do you have any ideas on what to do for the fighting?”

“Huh?! You’re asking me?!” She jumps back in surprise, “B-B-B-But I don’t do that anymore. I’m H-H-H-Happier like this.” Her eyes dart around, avoiding all possible direct contanct.

“Yes… but please, if you would know a way to give us an advantage then tell us.”

“W-Well… I used to use flanking tactics, surrounding an enemy and converging on the center gives them no place to go…” the centaur notices your interest in her words and nervously hastens her speech, “I-If you do even a smaller force can beat a larger one. Like Hannibal and Rome!”

Hannibal Barca, the terror of Rome, famous for surrounding a Roman force of almost double his own by surrounding them in a giant round wall of his own soldiers. It was said that Roman soldiers trapped in the middle held their heads waiting to die.

“I didn’t know you liked history too Vara!”

She rubs her neck. “I, remember just a bit…”

You’ll have to keep that in mind going into the battle, you still had time to coordinate a surrounding attack, though this wasn’t the iron age, it still may prove difficult to copy the strategies of Carthage's Lightning Bolt. Nevertheless, It may work.

Quickly an hour had passed and the armies were ready for departure. Your friends, and particularly Aki still looked nerve ridden but onward you pushed. The other council members rode next to you as did Malena who now was able to walk under her own power relatively easily.

“May the gods bless this encounter…” Azura said to give you a slight sense of encouragement.

You nod, “May they do just that.”

Striding into the designated field of battle you notice in the far distance Yaga’s hut, which looked destroyed. But in front of that however was a massive army of goblins, demons, devils, ogres and almost abominations of creatures in a crowded line. In the skies above them were the vampires you remember making vacate the castle. It was hard to tell just how many soldiers the enemy army had do to the varying size of the monsters but for now at least they stayed still.

You and all of the council members extend your arms to your side to signal a mass hold as you got to inspect the enemy forces. Your eyes dash across the scene, hoping to find the enemy leader but no robed man was to be seen. While looking you heard a centaur call, “Look to the skies a bird of fire!” The shout began to spread through your forces until all eyes were on the large bird of flame.

A loud screech answered her shout as the Firebird Azzrazzor swooped into the open field, blowing wind in the face of both armies. As the bird landed you saw a man, cloaked from head to tow, carrying an odd staff on the bird's back. Azzrazzor gently knees down and allows the man to slowly walk off the bird.

“That’s him…” you mention quietly to the council members, “That is the No-Named Man.”

He does not seem to initially look toward you and your group and instead pets the bird on the head for providing him with transport. Azzrazzor then backs away from the Man slightly as he strides forward a couple extra feet until you estimate he is in the exact middle of the two armies. Now he turns to face you expectantly. A low deep voice rumbles from under the dark hood, “I had warned you to come alone had I not?” he snaps his fingers. Back at the front of his army, you see two figures get pushed out onto the field. It was hard to tell from your distance but they seemed bloodied and bruised. A troupe of goblins rushes to stand the figures up and hold their weapons to near all parts of their bodies. “Now, I am afraid you will have to say goodbye to your wizard friend and the old hag. That is of course unless you wish to meet for the traditional exchange between leaders before a fight.” The robed man places his hand on his chest, “I may not look it, but I assure you I am rather chivalrous.

You had heard of these meetings during the medieval times, opposing kings riding out for a talk in the center before agreeing to return to their sides and wage war. In these stories such an action was sacred and inflicting harm on either party during this time was banned and punishable by death.

All eyes now turned to you. Auriel and Yaga were held hostage in the background and their lives still hang in the balance.

“Fine then.”

“What?” Malena protests. “Darling you can’t be serious? So what if it has the mage and the old lady you are far more important than them right now!”

“He has sworn on his soul, and that I am willing to take a bet on.”

Malena rolls her eyes, “Alright then, just go and get it over with.”

Before you leave you feel a claw on your back shoulder, “Be careful…” was all that Aki said to you in a low voice. You smile to set her at most at ease as you could manage.
>>
>>1679281

From then you begin your slow walk to the center of the battlefield. On your way, The man seems to have summoned a small table and chairs for the two of you to sit at, reminiscently of what Yaga was capable of in her hut.

Ahh I wish this could have been done better. I had a more fitting meeting place in mind with a feast along with it. However...” You notice the man seemingly pull a teapot and cups out of nowhere and set them up appropriately on the table for you both. “For now, tea should suffice.

You scrutinize his every action and check if he is setting up any kind of trap in his movements as he continues, “I hope you don’t mind it is a rather common blend of flowers from the Felwood. Azzrazzor had picked some up for me on her way through the Moth village there.” He chuckles under his breath, “Well it used to be there anyways

You sit down, annoyed and angered by both his manner of speech, demeanor, and insinuations you cut to the chase, “So what is it you really want to talk about here huh?”

My my… and here I thought you enjoyed taking times off and relax before the coming storms. But I suppose it can’t be helped given the situation. Simply stated girl, I want you, you and your friends to be specific.

“For what?”

Help of course! You have clearly opposed me and my followers at every turn, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn to see my point of view on things.” He takes a sip of tea and notices you letting yours turn cold. “You’re not going to drink any? I personally find it calms the nerves.”

You toss his comment aside, if there was anything suspicious or plan to harm you the tea was obviously the first choice. You would rather refrain from taking any chances.

Though that got you thinking about your situation and decided to jab back, “I hope no one who hates you tries to harm me during the meeting, oh that's why you use such nasty magic, isn't it? Quite sad you can't inspire loyalty.”

The figure chuckles again, “Oh I think I can inspire loyalty just fine” He glances back to his army, “ I just like to have insurance in case of betrayal. You might want to consider it an option in the future. I know you may think they love and would never betray you..” His tone grows noticeably more serious than a second ago, “But trust me, girl, you have no idea how people can truly feel. Especially you.” He takes another sip of his tea and his body language loosens and his tone grows light once more. “So, do you actually think you can win? I can offer you plenty of help and assistance if you choose to follow me. Though you specifically wouldn’t need my insurance policy. You're special after all."

What the hell was this guy on about? You raise an eyebrow out of both mild intrigue and confusion has he seems to patiently wait for a response.

"Special how? And what makes you think I wouldn't betray you?"
>>
>>1679317

“Special how? And what makes you think I wouldn’t betray you?”

Well you are a leader as you can no doubt tell. And leaders have a natural born charisma to them, though yours goes a bit beyond that. It’s more an ability to influence, and though not as powerful as say mine you have miraculous results. Your friends, the leaders you have with you, even the small unknown centaur in there may look up to you. Many of them may also die for you, without understanding why. From admiration? Pleasure? A sense of duty? Honor? It doesn’t matter.

“What exactly are you saying?”

That you have a power girl, power as a leader, just like that siren told you months back, people follow you because they believe what you do is right. It doesn’t have to be right at all.” He pauses and takes another sip of his tea, “Have you ever wondered why it was so easy for you to convince others, random strangers of your point of view? Why you’re treated as a hero everywhere you go? Why your friends love you so? You may be good with words, but you must admit for a young girl just starting middle school it is impossible to think you capable of all this. Your close friends, who you trick are easily done through this , it is rather cruel that you exploit your abilities to enjoy yourself and take advantage of them. I may not be in the correct position to talk, but at least I am transparent

That’s can’t be true at all, “People disagree with me all the time. Even my friends.”

I’m sure but push come to shove, they will agree and follow you. Your abilities so far, however, haven’t had to much of an affect on some higher class peoples, but you are just starting out and that is expected.

He takes a long sip of tea, “As for why I don’t think you would betray me, well… It is complicated, but in the end, I just have a feeling, a strong feeling that you wouldn't or wouldn’t even want to.” You could swear you see can feel his eyes narrowing under the darkness of his hood, “After All, I can get you home.”

"What home? The same home were my parents are dead and If I have any relatives left they wouldn't believe is me because I look older than I should? I can't speak for the others but... I don't want to go bath to Earth. If I did I would have lo leave my new family and my non human friends behind. Not to mention one of my two girlfriends is a monster girl. Why don't you go right into the big carrot? What the fuck did you do with my human sister? Mother wouldn't have killed then on Earth, so you must have taken her."

"And I am not perfect, I have made mistakes, I have cheated, I was tricked into help with genocide, I can't seem to stay faithful to the women I love. I think more like a monster girl than a human. And I could keep going. But I try to help and I end helping. Maybe I wasn't able to save everyone, but I am not you. I am not so scared of betrayal that I need to use dark magic to chain and slave my followers. And I don't have servants so scared of me that they prefer to blow up a city to surrender. Oh and how is your quest for the Shadow Orb going? Did kidnapping a baby shadow demon made you any new friends in the Shadow Lands?"

You know some of your friends won't be happy with this. But the truth is, while the kids that were until not so long ago in the castle could safety return to Earth, you and your group can't. You are not sure why, but no one has magic or special abilities on Earth. And Malena vampires didn't stay long in Earth maybe...

"Let me guess... Earth can't support magic, at least not for long, right? That's the real reason monsters live in a separate realm. And the reason why you didn't pull a Doctor Doom and got your own country on Earth. You can go back to being a mere mortal or you can stay here and play being King of the Hill. And you love power too much, plus how long have you been in this realm? Do you even have someone left on the other side?"

That would be a lot to take in for anyone and his lingering silence suggests he is debating where best to tackle your questions, statements or assumptions.

Your sister?” His tone sounded confused, “I do not know what became of her, what was her name… Lily right, I wasn’t at all influencing the events on the night of your abduction so why should I know? I f the lord vampire doesn’t then I don’t know who would. You would have to ask her yourself, though if she is not here then she is either dead or back on your home plane.

It appears that he had decided to discuss each, one at a time.
He rotates his tea cup in on the table and thinks, “Speaking of which since you are so confused about where home is I suppose I can tell you a reason to join me. It is as you guess that I seek destruction, but specifically a destruction of barriers. The barriers between the planes. By doing so all life would exist equally and wholly. That would, of course, solve all of your problems would it not?

As for the Shadow Orb I have not made the trip yet to the temple in the north. Narreth should be there now, and I would watch your tone when speaking of my relationship with the shadow still residing in you. She is but another victim to your power…” He sighs, “Though I suppose fathers must be forgiving of their children's foolish mistakes. We just have to see what happens soon then

You hear Kagehana softly in your head, “Father…”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

He answers you with a silent sip of his tea.

As for myself, I have been here for quite sometime. I have no one left besides those with my here now. And I feel that I am as suited as anyone to be king. When the planes are one I shall guide those that survive into era. And era of order and prosperity.

"You probably been here so long that you might not be aware of certain technological developments. An army made of the mightiest Monsters and most powerful magic using humans wouldn't win if they fought with Earth's humanity nowadays. Ever heard of the World Wars?"

You know he won't listen, but you still argue to win time.

"The first World War started with people riding horses and ended with people riding big metal war machines called tanks. And that wasn't all, a lot of technology advanced during that war and that was in just four years, ending in 1918. In 1939 to 1945 there was a second World War, and the interesting thing is how it ended. You have never heard of nuclear weapons have you? Two atomic bombs killed over 80.000 people in a single day. And over the double of that died to the bombing side-effects in a few months. And that was in the past century. Many decades have passed since that and the ability of humans to better kill has just increased."

"Not to mention that your plan to just break the barriers will end killing many monsters and humans. No, I won't join you."

The hooded man sighs, “I am well aware of the technology of the otherside. It is truly frightening to some, though I believe the destructive force of the two orbs should combat most threats. I am still preparing mind you, even though we are in the final stages. Also my plan is likely to kill many, the sheer force of the two planes colliding would kill billions, but those who rise up will do so stronger for it. And find a whole new world. I can however, as future wielder of the obs discriminate my destruction and prevent you, and your friends, as well as your loved ones safe passage. Though from your tone that does not seem to interest you.

He goes for another sip of tea but pauses as he lifts it to his hood, “It seems the tea has run out.” He stands from the table and picks up a staff he had set on its side during your talks. Up close you can tell that this man was exceptionally tall, at least double your height as an average middle schooler. “And with that girl I believe our talks have concluded.”

“Wait, we still haven’t talked about Auriel and Yaga! Release them now that I satisfied you with your talks.”

Release? For a talk? My you seem rather presumptuous of your position here.” You can feel a cruel smile from under this mans hood, “How about this. You can have them back if you reach them in time during the battle. I would be rather fast about it, my forces have a tendency to mutilate

As if on cue Azzrazzor swoops in near the man as he began to walk back from the table. The Firebird looked ready to kill though held itself back until commanded by her master. The man climbs back on top of Azzrazzor and says his parting words, “It is still a shame you still do not see eye to eye with me, perhaps you will better understand when your armies and alliance is shattered before you. In the end, there is no difference to me..”

“I wouldn’t sound so confident.” you retort, “We are far more capable than you give us credit. You overestimate your odds.”

The Firebird answered in her master's stead, screeching tremendously in your face, “Hold your tongue! I may holdback now, but when the fighting starts I'll tear you to shreds for how you have talked to master, and for that humiliation in the tower!”

You then her a tap on the birds back created by the man’s staff to signal their departure. In a movement, Azzrazzor turns and flies back to the front lines. Standing up from your seat you slowly walk back to your forces who seemed eager to hear from you. “Well, Darling?” the first to talk was the vampire lord, “Anything?”

“He’s crazy and wants to kill billions of people for his goals. He overestimates himself in his schemes and the only way to solve this bout at the moment is to fight.”

Malena, as well as the other leaders and your friends nod. They have already long accepted that this was the case as had you. Azura yells behind her, “Make ready!” you can feel the group rumble slightly as the whole army behind you stiffens itself into fighting ranks.

Sei gently taps your side, “Do you wish to say anything? It may help with morale.”

Nodding to Sei you walk ahead of your troops and then turn to face them, “Centaurs, girtablilu, arachne, and soon the harpies. Quite the alliance don’t you all think? Until just recently the idea of you all working together may have been a fantasy. A dream some small child may have had one night. But my friends, we are here today. We are here today because we fight together for not only to face evil but to fight for our survival. The enemy plans to kill billions in his path to glory and intends to make us an early example.” you unsheathe your short sword, “But here, today, we shall stop this man, not only for us, but for our families, for our homes, and for this world. You thrust your sword in the air, “We fight for a better future!”

To your words, your forces each brandish their weapons and respond in a resounding roar.

You turn your attention to the enemy army still stationary, “Fret not friends, for we will be victorious!”

Your words crescendo a charge from behind you as your forces begin to plow forward onto the field. Your friends go with their respective units leaving you and Kagehana leading the charge up the center. Your foes respond to the charge in kind though Azzrazzor is noticeably hanging back. Given how much she talked about ending your life you didn’t like her initial hold. Still, you were charging headlong into mass combat, something you don’t have that much experience with.

Regardless it will be chaos on all sides. But still, within that chaos, you had one goal in mind.
