A Londry remix. Concept and art used with Cognis' permission. All jank you may experience is my own.Your job: Commander of hunt-and-harvest fighting drones. Your job is performed from the relative safety of an armored moving factory. Your job requires the cooperation of a few others like you and a disposable army. Your job is a vital one.The probable causes are many and muddled, but today, feral Veggies roam the the ruins of a disaster-riven Earth. Saving the planet is a distant dream dreamt from human bases in the depths of deserts where most Veggies will not go. More attainable is the monthly harvest quota. The folks in orbit and beyond still need to eat, after all. No purestrain produce survived mankind's exodus to the Moon and Mars.Ahhhh, well, you all know that already. Stand by for briefing.
Crawlers Fis’Kiire and Akolon have spent the last six months in operation, and they’re due for maintenance we can’t provide here at this forward operating base. Your task is to bring them to a base that’s better-equipped. You shouldn’t encounter any advanced infestations, but if you do, it is not recommended that you mount an assault. Make your way to the desert, and you’ll be in the clear.A few people who manage the Orbital Assets owe me a favor. Gimme a good reason and ask nicely, and I can call down some ammo drops that double as terrain, but you’d better have a strong signal at the landing site, else they won’t land anywhere useful for you. 7 overlapping signals and it’ll land on a dime.
Momma always told me never to save my vegetables for last. I’d tell you the same of mistakes. Any questions or niggling doubts, get your answers /now/. I’ve seen lesser Curcubitae punch light vehicles in half. I understand that this will be the first taste of action for many of you. Here’s a refresher course, in case you had no time or incentive to imagine the fun the vets have been having while custodial duties fell to you.Turns will be processed daily, multiple being possible if full response is received quickly.
For tech support, drop by the #Skirmish channel on Rizon.

How about a proper tacmap, eh? There are two paths commonly taken through this stretch of mountain. You can tell them by the lack of vegetation.A note on terrain: Carriers cannot traverse terrain that's too steep. If any movement would cause one to span 3 different shades of brown terrain at once, that movement will fail. Cover can be flattened by driving a carrier over it.>>1653986>>1654195Ah, you're one of Cognis'. Fine commander, only... His assigned AOs are the closest thing to agriculture we can establish over Veggies. Respectably hazardous, but single-front only. It's not the same here on the frontier. We have to cover a lot of ground without taming it, and threats come from where they please. We tried rapid-response drones, smarter drones, tougher drones. Didn't make enough of a difference. They all broke just about as easily once the Veggies closed the distance. High specs don't belong in the panic-wall of steel we need in case of an ambush. So we went the other way, stripped the designs down to the essentials. These things march, they hold the line, they discharge their weapons for 9 seconds if they're lucky. They serve well enough, and they do it cheap. But if you can wrangle the simplified controls and can manage to... to nurture them amid the tumult, they'll grow under your guidance. Whether the standards you've learned are attainable is up to you. That's the frontier way. Adapt to it, and we can see about getting you a position akin to what you used to hold.
