+Intro+
In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the last line of defence that hold Age of Ruin at bay. They are the Ghosts of Retribution and this is their tale.

When you finally meet Cagirates, he seems to be a bit sad, but also relieved to finally be back at the Chapter. He starts speaking almost immediately, with little need for Renard to prompt him. Chapter Master for now stays in the shadow, listening.
>Well, it’s a long story, but I’ll try to keep it short. When we first arrived to the Ursus’ Palace, everything was great. Maybe a bit boring, but great. We had a chance to socialise with Imperial nobility – tell them about the Chapter and our exploits, raise our profile, while doing an honourable duty to safeguard the Governor. However over time things started turning sour. We received more and more orders and they started becoming more and more strict. While it wasn’t anything special, I realise now that Ursus was trying to establish his direct personal control over us. Unfortunately, I failed in my duties as the Leutenant and the leader of my men and ended up following his lead without seeing through his guile, I didn't want to dishonor the Chapter as we are his vassals after all. Honour Guard was ever more restricted until we could no longer show ourselves in public, unless under official business and in the company of people that Lord Governor approved of. Just around that time Lusmer fell for that witch, Anastasia Belladon, thrice be cursed her name. She was a common visitor at Ursus’ court and she put my brother under some sort of charm. After receiving unofficial approval from the Governor he even asked for your permission to marry her, from what I recall, but you refused. I was relieved for a while, but then she started visiting our quarters more often, setting a precedent. Then she started coming with her friends, ladies of the court. I protested, but I was told by the Governor that from now on we will be following principles of equality among his Honour Guard and I shouldn’t be directly ordering my men around. I was furious, but then he insisted that I have a chat with Anastasia and I… Changed my mind. I still cannot understand it, but that’s how it was. From time to time I would get the idea to contact the Chapter Master and let him know about my worries, but there would always be that voice at the back of my mind telling me that I was just being paranoid. This strange feeling, it came and went. Sometimes I could see more clearly, at others I was completely lost in the mist. I tried to get to the astropaths at least a dozen times, but every time either I would be called back for an urgent meeting or there would be a long queue or something else happened that prevented me from contacting you directly.
>>
>>1657448
>Also our character changed. Lord Governor asked us to change the colour of our armour, just for this one occasion that he had planned – a special event. A month later he asked it again. And then once more in a couple of weeks. Then he suggested that we should keep our armour in his colours constantly because there will be more events and he wants us to look presentable. He awarded us with luxury, prestige and granted every one of us a personal engraved ring… And the ladies… Soon we all had one. Yes, even I did. I am not really sure how that happened. It’s all covered in a pink mist, it was an exciting time. Gabriella was lovely, I truly cared for her and she did for me. And despite everything, I constantly had this feeling that something is not right, despite the fact that everything was wonderful. I remember trying to warn you secretly when Chapter Master visited us. But it seems my warning went unheeded. The turning point for me was... Well, a few months ago, Gabriella died. She had an accident. I was stricken to the depths of my soul, for I have never shared such a deep bond with anyone apart from my brothers and this bond was of a different nature than just brotherhood. It affected me so much, that when Governor presented me with another lady just a while later, I flew into a fit of rage and grabbed her. She got scarred and then she resisted and actually hurt me (he shows a burnt left hand), I now realise that she must have been a psyker. This only fuelled my fury and I grabbed her by the head, like a doll, and threw her out of the spire's balcony. All of my old paranoid thoughts came back rushing at once and I decided that I need to run. I set up guard duty schedules to give me as much time as I could and I escaped into the underhive, hoping to remain undetected and alert someone. Then you came. That's my story, Renard.

>Ursus has been pimping the honour guard out to a gang of noble witches

Is Anastasia Belladon sanctioned at all? Or any of the girls' Cagirates' mentions? Are they all rogue psykers? How the hell could there be so many gone undiscovered? Especially one as prominent as Anastasia?

Do any of the witches match the description of the one who tried to assassinate Hagen on Kinteros?

One more quick question. How much would it cost to add revenant-tech (inc. noise dampeners etc.) to Xenya's light power armour?
>>
>>1657467
>Anastasia Belladon
There are no records of her being a psyker in any archives available to you. Regarding other girls - Cagirates knew them mostly by names and didn't interact with them much. He tries his best to describe them, but even so, you don't really manage to identify any key players of Tachionian politics among them. The fact that they all knew etiquette leads you to suspect that they were either trained very well or they actually are of noble upbringing, even if from the minor families, which number in the thousands.

How do you intend to capture one? It seems that they stay in the palace with the Honour Guard almost at all times.

>I... I don't know, really. I don't remember it. News were delivered to me by Lusmer and I lost my mind from the sorrow. Maybe I'll remember it once I calm down.

>>1657484
Honour Guard was used as status symbols. Though Cagirates said that he suspects that Ormius and Hadran were used by the Sector Governor for more than that - he kept those two marines especially close. Whena asked to speculate, Cagirates says that a few nobles from the opposition have died under mysterious circumstances in the last few years.

>>1657496
Will you ask Nestorian technopriests or do you want this to be done in-house? This would mean dabbling in the techno-heresy even further, but it wouldn't be too expensive, but conversion into human power armour will be slightly problematic because of the smaller frame and weaker power generator.

tech-heresy is troubling but we might need that. Would her unique ability prevent psykerdetection? Can we get that onto a servo skull aswell?

Trianon approaches you with an undecipherable face. It seems that our brother has suffered from psychic attack quite recently on the physical plane, that's how his arm got scorched. Effects are merely physical, no taint detected. His mind is a more complicated matter though. There is strong evidence that his psyche was altered psychically or using similar invasive means, however there's nothing conclusive. It is clear that there's no open and active taint within him, but I can't give a full guarantee because of possible taint of the mind.
>>1657516
>>1657518
The cost to produce a single suit of Revenant armour will be 10W and conversion will cost another 2W. That's for in-house production, because Regon commands Nestorium and he might not be too happy about the idea of hasty upgrades to the already semi-heretical designs.

Xenya can still be detected by the more highly skilled/trained psykers who will notice the emptiness in her area of the Immaterium, however she will be invisible to most lower level psykers. Cagirates says that he is aware of the incident, but no one mentioned anything being missing. Some security measures were added, but as the Honour Guard are expected to protect the Governor himself, not the palace, he wasn't directly involved with any of that. It seems that Larion has installed a new garrison of Imperial Guard stormtroopers at the palace and also invited at least a few techpriests, who have made some unknown technical improvements to the palace.

>Unfortunately Triarchy is not my area of expertise, however from my encounters with their agents, I can assure you that Styrians are ingenious, especially in their manipulation of the warp. However I have been around Sector Lord Governor many times and not once have I felt or suspected him being a puppet. This would be too vulgar and hard to disguise. I would suspect that some terrible blackmail or more subtle psychological methods are being used to control him if that is the case. However if what you are telling me is true, I would suspect that Larion Ursus might be cooperating willingly. We know that Triarchy is trading with numerous non-Imperial worlds and has a thriving economy, so they might be able to bribe and so influence quite a few important people in Capitolis Sectorum. I would also suspect that they might have a network of spies or possibly even sleeper agents spread out around the Sector. However I doubt that they have much power apart from what they can do working from the shadows.

Can we count on the Adeptus Mechanicus' support in the event of an overthrow?"

>Statement: Grave news, if your facts are correct. Request: Please present additional evidence to support your case. Emotion: Conflicted approval. Query: What support would be required? Statement: This is a dangerous move to make. Machine Council will require logical reason to support you more than we would normally support our ally. Forge World is already under suspicion for heresy, additional attention is unwanted. Warning: Compensation will be requested. Regon falls silent for a moment.

1. Dismantling of Ministorium power structures
2. Help in convincing Mars to legitimize Nestorian Learners (might cost Favour)
3. Subjugation of all other Forge worlds within Sector Deus under Nestorian influence
4. Giving up 50% of your Vardan cybernetics industry output for Nestorian machines

We have testimony from Cagirates. Show footage from his extraction as thousands of guardsmen are inexplicably dispatched. Show him pictures of the Ursus cogitator.
Before the coup occurs we hope to have hard evidence of the presence of rogue psykers in his court. We should have the support of other factions as well.

>2. Help in convincing Mars to legitimise Nestorian Learners (might cost Favour)

for evidence also present the defacing of Cagirates armor and ofc what we know from Kruun

furthermore enquire about his knowledge of styrian technology, investigation of the recently killed fleet ships etc.
>>
>>1677504
It seems like we need stronger evidence or all these people are going to keep fucking us in the ass over terms for their support. That cogitator would've been nice but oh wells :^)

So....we need to capture one of Ursus' rogue psykers and extract some confessions.

Perhaps we could try and attend one of Anastasia Belladon's parties and see if the psyker assassin she's friends with is there?
>>
>>1677526
Didn't the scholar guy offer to set up a meeting with her?
>>
>>1677539
Yes, yes he did.

Maybe we could arrange a 'get together with all ur friends!' or something?
Then revenants can kidnap psyker assassin biatch with the help of invisible Xenya and Darrion's Helmet.
>>
>>1677543
Or just tell her you'd like to readdress the marriage to maroon situation with her. More viable reason on why you would want to meet her than having a party.
>>
>>1677546

after all that habbened? Sure they will really believe it.

Best to ask Alderon if she even knows he is with GoR. If not, we could use normal humans to not tell them immediatly its a trap
>>
>>1677504
Plan idea.

Ask Alderon Belladon if he can somehow arrange a meet with Anastasia in some kind of party that will ensure she brings her friends inc. psyker assassin.

While party is occurring, Xenya and some members of punisher squad (in plainclothes) discretely disable the psyker assassin and drag her to a back room where hidden telepath Librarian Laxenos can mindscan her and extract a confession of her deeds and intel, before wiping away the memories of this exchange. Record the data extracted onto a psycrystal for later usage as proof.

Then release her back to the party, unaware of what's just happened.

Please clarify whether you will or will not support their legitimisation (need someone to break the tie between Luigi and hihihi). Also, what is the second condition you are willing to meet? They require 2 out of 4.

It's very hard to meet two of those conditions. We'll come back when we get some harder evidence, same with Garant.

Alderon will do his best to arrange a meeting, however he is not sure whether he'll be successful. Please roll d100:
1-5: Party is arranged, they are invited to Alderon's villa on Varda and agree to come
6-15: Party is arranged, but Anastasia instead insists on Alderon coming over to her spire on Tachion Primaris
16 - 40: Anastasia agrees to meet with Alderon in person on Tachion Primaris, you don't know whether he friend will be present
41 - 80: Anastasia replies that she is busy, but invites Alderon to attend one of her annual parties
81+ Anastasia pretends that she is terribly busy and ignores Alderons repeated messages
95+ Anastasia decides that she doesn't want to be related to such a failure as Alderon anymore and unfriends him

Regon is quite happy to share Nestorian limited archives on the current state of the Triarchy. It seems that a lot of what they have is more speculation, than fact, but it seems that Styrian Triarchy has managed to somehow enhance their warp travel. Exact method remains unclear as nothing special was noticed in any of the examined hulks. However possibly capturing one of their ships would lead to more insights.

Sigh

Okay. At this party we need some of Punisher Squad (dressed as nobles/servants) casing the join and looking for the psyker assassin girl.

Once ID'd, mebbe have Blinky temporarily disable lights? And in the confusion nab the psyker assassin with the help of Xenya (dressed as noblewoman) & Geron (in plainclothes dressed as Xenya's servant).

Quickly pump psyker with some suppression drugs and have Laxenos and Trianon (also in plain clothes having snuck into spire pretending to be random heavy lifter slaves doing bitch work) in back room. Who will psychically interrogate psyker assassin and record all her stuffs onto a psycrystal and onto video when she says it. I want indisputable evidence of her being a rogue psyker, working for/with Ursus and trying to kill Hagen.

What do we think?
>>
>>1677644
I assume the invitation is for Alderon and maybe a guest or two. How are you going to smuggle in all the staff you need as nobles/guests? Unless skg says otherwise.
>>
>>1677647
This is correct. Alderon might push it for up to d3 invitations apart from himself.
>>
>>1677627
few questions:
-is alderons allegiance to GoR known to her?
-how many people will attend?
-after we have said alderon what we suspect anastassia of doing, how did he react?
-you realize there might be a daemon popping out for reasons?
>>
Rolled 1 (1d3)

>>1677649
Of course.

Does that include servants?
>>
Rolled (1d00)

what are we rolling for
>>
>>1677655
2 invitations. It would be appropriate for gentlement to take a servant and for ladies two, depending on who is going. However servants will have restricted access around the spire and might be asked to stay outside of the main event hall.
>>1677653
>is alderons allegiance to GoR known to her?
Unknown. She knows that he is working as a civil cervant on Varda, so she might suspect something.
>how many people will attend?
Unknown. Most likely a small gathering, up to 20-30 nobles, among them suspected assassin, most of them will leave soon allowing for family to catch up.
>after we have said alderon what we suspect anastassia of doing, how did he react?
He is worried that there doesn't seem to be any real evidence, but he's loyal to the chapter and is wiling to help you.
>>
>>1677664
>most of them will leave soon allowing for family to catch up.
Okay perfect. Have Xenya arrive as the other invitee, a 'Vardan noblewoman'. Geron (masked due to 'disfigurement') can be one of her servants along with a pair of me from Punisher squad for her other servant and Alderon's.

Arrive in orbit over Tachion Primaris, ostensibly to ask Sector Lord Ursus how he feels about a reclamation campaign of Kruun.

When the psyker assassin leaves to let Alderon and Anastasia catch up, Xenya leaves too with her servants. Waiting outside, hidden, is Laxenos and Trianon. They should be able to instantly sense whether the assassin is a rogue psyker. If so, we have carte blanche to intercept, arrest and teleport out with Punisher Squad also hiding nearby.

Then the psyker assassin gets psychically interrogated.

Thoughts?
>>
>>1677674
My main addition to this would be to make sure the psyker is made unconscious ASAP so there's no self killing and get the =][= involved in the interrogation. That way no one can go "oh it's probably fabricated" or "you just tortured some random noble until they said what you want!" shit.

Your plan works as intended, mostly. You are most worried at the very beginning when you get the news that Laxenos and Trianon were almost caught by the guards. However in a moment of inspiration Laxenos created terrifying atmosphere of unease that drove them away and allowed them to enter the spire. Anastasia is pleased to see another Belladon visiting her and they are soon lost in the conversation. Xenya, who is eager to do her best on the first mission, tries to attract as little attention as possible, trying to manage her pariah field and stand out as little as possible. However she noticed that Anastasia politely declined to shake her hand, rather preferring to bow when greeting. Once the other guests started leaving, she saw the woman, who fit the description of the witch from Kinteros that tried to assassinate Tyrel Hagen. She followed her at a distance, but then witch realised that she's being followed and waved a hand at Xenya. An expression of horror disfigured her face when she realised that she's waving at a pariah. Moments later, Trianon and Laxenos appeared, strong drugs (provided by Klementhos) put the psyker to deep slumber. While normally teleportation out of the main spires is hard due to special interference fields, due to the fact that you had time to prepare for this and your ship was in a stable position, they managed to teleport with the hostage directly onboard. She is now shackled to an interrogation table, ready to be squeezed for the information. Xenya, as a pariah, cannot teleport - her nature might disrupt the delicate workings of the device and decides to ex-filtrate using traditional means. Your objectives are met. What do you regarding Alderon? Do you wait for him or leave? Remember with every passing hour the chance that someone will realise that something is wrong is increasing. Remember that kidnapped witch also had servants, so unless you eliminate them as well, they will raise alarm in a few hours if she doesn't appear. If you just want to interrogate her on the ship and then release her without harming her and with her mind altered, it will be complicated. You need to decide:
1. Who is primary interrogator?
2. How careful you want to be?
a) No damage
b) No visible damage
c) We don't care what happens to her
3. How sure you want to be she doesn't remember kidnapping?
a) Make subtle changes, she will remember being kidnapped, but nothing clear (quick - 0 hours)
b) Erase the incident, hopefully she will not ask questions (medium - 1 hour)
c) Erase the whole evening and replace it with false memories (long - 3 hours)
d) Make her a vegetable (quick - 0 hours)
4. How many hours do you want to interrogate her?
a) 2 (no danger)
b) 4 (low danger)
c) 6 (medium danger)
d) 8 (high danger)
e) As long as it takes
5. What questions do you want to ask? Getting an answer takes about an hour on average, if you want to record it for future use as evidence - two hours.

+Session over+
>>
>>1677722
>1. Who is primary interrogator?
Laxenos, a telepath. With the psychic assistance of Chapter Master, Trianon and his brother Vortigan.

2.
>b) No visible damage
Fuck with her mind.

3.
>c) Erase the whole evening and replace it with false memories (long - 3 hours)
Make her seem super drunk and wandered off from her servants and got lost. However this only matters if the next question's aren't answered:

4.
>a) 4 (no danger)

5.
>Are you sanctioned?
>What is your relationship with Larion or Deidara Ursus?
>Did you try to assassinate Lord Admital Tyrel Hagen?

As long as the first answer is "No I am a Rogue Psyker." then don't bother giving her back. It'll be time to get the =][= involved and go back to our friend Garant.

She's not sanctioned properly. You can see that her mind is fortified somehow, but she doesn't bear the marks of the usual sanctioning. This is highly unusual and most likely heretical.
