New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.
>Passing the 1st year exams unlock Tier 6 to 10; 2nd year exams unlock Tier 11 to 15
>Progress threshold needed for the 6th tier and above becomes a stable 10 points.
>>
>>1664846
Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) The battle starts with an initiative roll by each player. This tells the order of the actions of each player in the round. The initiative roll also resets every round and a new initiative roll will be needed every turn
2)The next phase is the attack, where the player with the highest initiative roll gets the chance to take an attack action. The player he attacks can also take a reaction and attempt to block, dodge or even counter attack with a spell or skill.
3)To land an attack, the attack roll must be higher than the defense roll. After landing a hit, The damage is calculated with relevant skills and traits using a 1d(1+ modifiers) roll.
4)This continues as everyone gets a chance to attack, resetting the round and this will be done until a player gets downed.

>Canaria Island Vacation
With Spring Break starting soon, the Student Council has made an announcement. Along with the normal reminders to finish homeworks and projects over the break, they have also stated that they have recently been sponsored to go on a trip! Namely, to the island of Canaria. All travel expenses will be covered by the school, so don’t miss your chance to go on the trip and experience true tranquility!

For the next 3 turns (Turns 135-138), you may sign up for a trip to Canaria. Signing up for the Spring Break OVA takes a single action, but no roll is required. The OVA will begin on Turn 139, and will span the course of a single turn, meaning players will return on Turn 141. We highly encourage players to participate in this event, as it’s a good opportunity to get acquainted with other players, and to go on an adventure.

>Missing 17 y.o. Prodigy Student
Several Police Officers of the Madrid Police Department have conducted a search operation on the immediacies of the Mageknight Academy of Madrid amid an ongoing investigation into a 17 years old student disappearance. Authorities are yet to find a lead on the disappearance of the missing student Kassandra Silvestri.

Kassandra’s Roommate reported her missing a few days ago after she noticed that she didn’t come back to her room after a long session of studying in the Academy Library. Her roommate stated that she was working on the research of a new alchemical formula so she has been pretty busy studying. Athena, the librarian golem, reports that she saw Kassandra leaving at the closing time of the library.
Kassandra Silvestri is a prodigy student, by the age of 16 she won the National Alchemy Contest and got the Coughlan Scholarship to attend the Mage knight Academy of Madrid. We call for the help of all the Mageknight Community.

>Mana’s Awareness Day
Next week (Turn 136) we will be celebrating the Mana Awareness day. This is a day where we celebrate and spread awareness of the proper use of mana. With a recent influx of students that suffer from mana related problems (with some overusing and some not aware of their mana capabilities), we will be offering a course in Mana Management and we will be giving away [small Mana Stones] to the students to enroll in the first learning session about how to manage your own mana. Luckily for those too busy, we will be having a whole week of sessions that can help you whether it be in combat or real life situations.

>DO (Train Mana Reserves):
The previous work out of emptying out most of his reserves and building up from there, worked well enough last time, so no point in fixing what wasn't broken. He really needed to brush up on proper techniques however.

Having a proper technique is important. But you don’t have that. You noticed too late that you completely depleted your mana reserves. WIth no one to back you up, really start to feel depleted and you end up passing out.

This Medical Theory Seminar is given by a world-known nurse, Irina Viera Aleksandrovna. She’s known for her subtle and gentle ways for interviewing patients at the hospital and she goes over the basic of nursing. Heading to the local chapel, you find the current priest and ask him for some blessed water. He seems hesitant at first, but as soon as you mention vampires, his demeanor changes. Responding with nothing else but a nod, he reaches inside his alter and hands you a number of vials, filled with Holy Water. “Try to return the vials if you can, they’re pretty expensive.”

Most open free area’s in the school are full of people and some of the places, you can’t even go to because a group of raccoons are usually in sight. Maybe now’s not the time to practice...

>Attend: Engineering class
Again, You take engineering class. The lesson is pretty basic with what you already know, so at times, it gets pretty boring. It's about equipment and each of its uses. Some are strong heavy lifting and some are used for data collecting. Many of the equipment are metal or plastic and can range differently depending on what it's job it is for. Maintenance is also a ting, tings can be incredibly difficult to replace or fix when proper maintenance is not used.

>Do: Use that shipment of manasteel I just got and begin working on that magic yo-yo with Nicholas. a string of manasteel and copper should allow magic and energy to travel down the line without destroying the yo-yo itself. Runes on the face of the body should help to amplify the users abilities. An electronic assisted return system will also help deal with the added difficulty caused by the metal string. (Master Runecrafting, Master Engineering, Intermediate Electronics)

As the shipment of Mana Steel gets to the door of the Engineering Club, you are already working on the blueprints and prototypes of the Amplifier Yoyo. Using your machines you manage to smelt a blend of ManaSteel and Cooper and use that alloy to braid a string to connect the yoyo to the user. Working on the body you settle for a mix of engraved aluminium and mana steel for amplifying the power of the spells. You had a ton of fun using the laser-engraver. The small electronic assisted return system you managed to create is a tiny but solid piece of electronics that will assist the user when the yoyo comes back.

You manage to find Eliza near the Amsterdam Dormitories. She smiles when she sees you. “Hey Zoot. How’re you doing?” Her facade has always been ‘cheerful girl’, but this one seems even more false than usual. Having experienced both her smug self and false self, you feel a little out of place. Upon arriving in the school, The golem was stone made but looked to have some technological things put into it. Lights and some buttons can be seen around it's arms. With a click of a button, a door opens. Just as you’re about to ask, the golem somehow reads your intentions as it talks in a rough rocky voice. “New student? You shall be guided around.” It says in a monotone voice. It then walks out the door and you realize the golem is just a few inches taller than you. You follow and after a few steps, you know that you are now a part of the Mageknight Academy of Madrid.

There are a fair amount of buildings around you. 2 dorm buildings to the right which look pretty similar but have very distinguishable difference. One of them doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the other buildings design. The golem does say that the other dorm was transported from Amsterdam for the transferee students after the attack. As the tour continues, you feel the golem doesn’t feel welcoming with its monotone rough voice but it does a good job in describing the campus areas. Looking forward, you can see the largest building which is the main building of the school. It is described as the first building where the staff offices, principal’s office, classrooms and even the library can be located. The library even has a stone librarian who holds the name of Athena. Maybe that’s to be look to in the future. As you go along and enter, you can see that the classrooms come in different shape and sizes, having classes with stages, target practices, cages, arenas and all sorts of things that try to cater to any of the class needs. A canteen seen below where it seems to be close to a forest place

Just outside, a foresty area where the golem says something about a pond here with fey inhabitants. Further back, there can also seen a large tree known as the gardening/cooking club. Around the corner is the clinic and further away is the training area. It looks like there are two major training grounds in the school. One being the H.E.M.A. club open grounds and the other being actual training yard where there is dummies and everything. The only difference is H.E.M.A training grounds have weapons to borrow.

After doing the tour, there are some buildings not really done with but you get a map at the end anyway. The map has everything to labels and shapes. Some area’s not toured like Platina’s Workshop, Magitech workshop, Church, and the League Arena are labeled in the map. After looking at it, it's a wonder how such a big of a school even fits here in madrid.
>Gain [Almost complete Map of Madrid], +1 in locating places in school

You go the On-Campus Housing and really, you get a nice empty dorm room. You don’t really need to check in and things. There is no curfew and surprisingly only little of rules. In essence, the rules tell you not to disturb anyone or break the building. Any of this can lead to a warning and with enough of a nuisance warning, you can be kicked out of the dorm. The rule of not breaking the building gets you curious as to how that even became a rule but it is a school of Mageknights so it isn’t as surprising as you would have wanted. There is another notes where you can apply for a dorm mates. It gets you a bigger room with better quality but a dorm room can be unpredictable.

>[Tenia's Quest] Go do some investigation into 'Mauris de Wilde'.
Relevant Modifiers: T1 Tracking
You go snooping around and after some time, you learn that he is in a nice expensive hotel called “Hotel 42”. You find on some social media that he is an American who is pretty good looking and he would be pretty distinguishable in a crowd. Some people even comment on him having somewhat of mississippi accent. The man is pretty simple and even wears the same clothes everyday having different kinds of polo shirts with a tie. He holds some shares to american companies. Nothing that really strikes your eye. There isn’t much info online so you decide the best course of action is to investigate him. You know his hotel so that would be the best lead you have so far.

Upon arriving in the hotel, You try to gather a much information but it looks like some people don’t really know jack shit. At the end of the day, you take a seat in the hotel bar and just order a drink to not act to conspicuous. A mean is sitted beside you and you just do some small talk with the guy in hopes for some info. You ask him if he knows of some big shot rich guy here who recently checked in and the guy comments back. You learn that Mauris is to meet a friend and enjoy a short vacation. He’ll be staying for a few weeks in spain. It isn’t much but at least you got something. You decide to stand and thank the man. You shake his hand and he asks for your name. The second chapter of the book talks about the types of ghosts according to different cultures around the world. Some of these types of ghost fall in the categories mentioned before in the book, but this chapter starts with the Japanese Folklore Classification of ghosts. It mention six types of ghost and most of them fall into the classification of Traditional Ghosts, earthbound spirits of the dead. The book goes into detail about them one by one. First you have the Onryo type of ghosts, spirits that passed away and before they successfully moved on, they come back to the Earth to take revenge for something. The name is literally translated as “vengeful ghosts”. Then you have the most noble of the ghosts: the Ubume. They are the spirits of women that died during childbirth, or while they children were still young. This spirit is unable to find peace because it feels the need to stay around to make sure their children are cared of.
>>
>>1664961
The next ones on the list are the Goryo, ghosts of the upper class, warriors and rulers. They stay in this earth to haunt their enemies. Funayurei are the ghosts of people who died at the sea. THey have a tendency to lure living persons into drowning. The last two are the types of ghosts that inhabit places: the Zashiki-warashi, that are child like spirits that protect houses and bring fortune to the families, they also make your bed when you aren’t looking. The last ones are the Jiburakei, mental imprints that get stored in objects and places and that can be replayed under certain conditions. This last type is under debate but ghost-hunters around the world consider it very plausible.

>DO: Conclude the business meeting with Poseidon industries. Bring in a super small and inconspicuous wire to record the conversation. And if that somehow fails, we still have the weapons...
You manage to procure a recording device from one of your contacts. It’s a minute magitech object, made in the shape of a decorative pin. It combines the power of recording equipment with the clarity of magic. The magic keeps the pin shielded from EMP and physical force, while also concealing itself from both mundane and magical scanners. All in all, a useful tool. Wiretapping may be considered illegal in some places, but so is the production and sale of chemical and biological weaponry. Turnabout is fair play.

Today, you walk into Poseidon Industries as Annabelle Silver. Striding to the receptionist’s desk, you tell her you have an appointment. The woman smiles, and dials up a number on the telephone. She beckons you to head to the Magitech Teleporter. “Mr. Benjamin will see you now.” She says to you.

You step onto the platform, and you’re immediately warped by magical energies. You find yourself on another floor, much wider than the lobby. A straight-faced man with a business smile meets you. “Miss Annabelle, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Benjamin Laius, but you can call me Ben.” He says as he shakes your hand with a steady grip. “You wanted to see our experimental weaponry, yes?” You nod, explaining your false need for new weapons to beat the mercenary market. “Well, come with me, and I’ll show you what we’ve got.” You walk past a scanner door, your wire still holding steady. So far so good.

He shows you multiple glass screens, reinforced with magic. Inside of each room is… a person? They’re testing their weapons on humans?! When you ask, Ben is quick to clarify. “Don’t worry. They’re simulacra. Facsimiles of human beings. But due to their lack of sentience, they make perfect test subjects.” The businessman explains. “Don’t you worry.” It provides you with little comfort, but you carry on. The weapons testing phase is about to begin.
>>
>>1664980
The first thing he shows you is “something that is sure to give a kick to small arms fire”. He takes a pistol from the range, loads it with black bullets, and fires onto the simulacra. The bullets react as normal, but the area that they affect seems to blacken and wither extremely quickly. “We call them Grim Rounds.” Benjamin says. “Bullets suffused with both poison and Necrotic magic. Anyone hit with these will die quickly without medical assistance. It’s also extremely effective on beings of light.” The simulacrum groans in pain before fading into stardust, a typical end to such magical clones. You move on to the next room.

Next, he shows you to the connected room. The testing area is wider, and there are a group of simulacra inside. Benjamin takes a strange looking gun, a combination of runes and technology. It seems bulky and sleek at the same time. “This is the Leto.” He explains. “The pinnacle of arms capable of medium to long range crowd control.” He hefts it into the air, and fires it onto the crowd. It seems to fire stones with various runecarvings on them. The first one detonates with a fiery explosion, the next one freezes the area. The next blast causes arcs of lightning to blast and incapacitate the simulacra. You’re worried that your wire might malfunction with all the lightning, but stay confident in the wards and runes keeping it together. The fourth rune produces a gas that causes the remaining simulacra to cough and choke, and the last forces everyone inside into a frenzy, running towards the remaining test subjects with a fury. Benjamin explains “Using our own patented Runic Ammunition™, we can fire off runes that cause fire, frost, shock, gas, and frenzy.” The man says, placing the gun back onto the counter. “More kinds of ammunition to come, but the Leto is completely modular. Customizable to the user’s needs.”
>>
>>1664984

In the last room, he shows you something… familiar. The greenish metal of Platina’s rediscovery. Orichalcum. You manage to hide your expression well, and Ben continues. “Tired of pesky magi one-upping your men? Just use this.” The gun in his hand looks strange, almost alien in appearance. It bears a striking resemblance to a speargun. He aims the weapon downrange, and fires it at the simulacra. The projectile fired looks like a harpoon, tipped with Orichalcum. The simulacra is impaled in the gut. Benjamin smiles as he turns to you. “You can fire up to eight before reloading.” He says as he fires the remaining seven harpoons at the target. “And at any time, you can just hit the switch to neutralize the mage and ready them for capture.” Ben flicks the switch on the side of the gun, causing blue ethereal chains to emerge from the spears. The simulacrum screams as the mana is drained from it. It is slowly reeled in until it is close to Benjamin. Once the magical clone is close, the business man flicks another switch on the gun, causing the chains to wrap around themselves, completely binding the test subject.

“We call this one the Harpoon of Tartarus.” Benjamin says. “The quintessential tool for magehunters. The future of anti-magical weaponry.” The businessman turns to you. “And that ends our tour, for now. If you’re interested in our… other weaponry, then your loyalty would be highly appreciated.” You get the feeling that you should purchase something.

>+1 Investigation
>As a free action, you may purchase one or more of the following.
>[Grim Rounds] T3 Ammunition. Causes targets to take 1 Necrotic damage on each of their turns for the next 3 turns, or until they’re healed.
>[Leto Runic Grenade Launcher] T3 Weapon. Can fire runes that deal Fire, Frost, or Shock damage in an area. It can also fire Gas and Frenzy runes that affect targets.
>[Harpoon of Tartarus] T3 Weapon. Upon successfully striking a target with this weapon, apply a stack of [Tartarus] to them. As an action, you may activate this weapon’s effect to destroy that much of the target’s mana. Additionally, when this effect is activated, chains wrap and bind themselves around the target, pulling them closer to the weapon. The DC for escaping these bindings is (10 x stacks of [Tartarus]).

Purchasing more than one will give you the affliction [On a Budget], causing your next action involving money to receive a -5 penalty. Purchasing all three will give you the affliction [Tight Budget], causing your next 2 actions involving money to receive a -10 penalty.

You start using your power of earth magic to lift the bricks into position, and then binding them together with magic. No mortar required. Your tower begins to pile up higher and higher. By the end of it, you have a moderately tall structure. It’s not finished, of course, but damn, does it look imposing. You wager that you’ve done at least two floors, this time around. You briefly consider running a construction business, and then put that thought aside. You work until you’re tired, and take a break afterwards.

You work on a spell that would allow you to become incorporeal, and then transfer yourself from tree to tree. You do this by switching to your Dryad form, using the spell until you’re aware of its ins and outs, and then working from there. After several days of work, you feel tired from the exertion, but you managed to do it. It seems your Dryad form has a better grasp of the spell, but it works. You just need to work on it some more. It seems this spell would be better in a forest, or some other place with lots of trees.

While practicing the spell, however, you manage to come up with a neat trick when using Tree Stride. When you use Tree Stride on a tree, you can absorb a bit of that tree’s power. It’s not much when it’s a single tree, but it adds up. You could even use it in combat to quickly regain some energy.

>Learned T1 Tree Stride
>Allows you to teleport to a tree within 10 ft. of you. Each tier of the spell increases the range by 10 additional ft.
>[Rejuvenating Jaunt] For every 30 ft. moved while using Tree Stride, you may choose to recover 1 Vitality or 1 Mana.

You start your own investigation at the site of the attack. You ask Athena for information about this girl and she provides you a general picture of her. Round glasses, frail looking, braided hair and a big backpack full of books, notebooks and papers. She usually spends her time at the alchemy section but the night of her disappearance she was also reading about wild plants. You thank Athena for her information and you go outside to investigate the area.

From a general look, you would say that the surroundings of the library look fairly normal. There is no evidence of a supernatural attack like sulfur or claw marks. But you notice that one of the bushes that leads to the female dorms is rustled and you find some muddy footprints under it. The footprints go in the general direction of the grimwoods and they look like they were carrying a bit fair of weight. Could it be?

Modifiers: [Connected], +5 to the next activity with the moonlight plant, Basic Gardening
You come visit the moonlight plant once again and it's doesn’t like it's grown this time. You do notice that that the fruits are actually fully grown. With some time, you take the fruits but you try to pick a few but whenever your ahnd reaches to pick an unripe one, it feels wrong and you decide against it. A gardening club member goes up and it looks like it’s Sophie!~ as she heads up saying her name. She tells you about the plant and what they’ve learned the past few days. The fruit is a fruit that can give someone proper sleep. There is something weird in the plant as if there is still something living in the inside but they can’t tell right now. They do believe that the plant has a short lifespan so they ask for you to spare a few fruits in hope to replant the seeds. There has been question in how it gives good sleep but maybe next time.

>Train my conjure scales to become even tough so that noone could break it!
The scales that mimic a dragon's continue to strengthen with every conjuration. It gets noticeably tougher and even a bit more thicker. You do this for the next few days and as you exhaust yourself again and again for the improvement if this spell. At some point, you overdo it and suddenly, the scales grow heavy and almost thicker than you arm! The scales around your body weigh you down and you can’t hold it for long and soon you just let it go. That was pretty interesting. This could be used in battle.
>+3 Conjure Scales
>Gain [Unbreakable Scales], You can choose to use this to negate double as much damage using conjure scales. Using this causes your strength tier to go down by 2 for the next 3 turns.[Unbreakable Scales] is unusable with a tierless strength.

“Join the Gambling Club! Easy and quick riches!”

That's your sales for the pitch for your fellow students. And it works out, after a few hours of inviting people you manage to get the Club Room filled with people. But, there’s a small problem. There are too many people to cast Effortless Confusion on every one. And some of the guys here are actually pretty damn good at the game. You survive the first rounds easily but as the night goes on you end up mana drained and mentally exhausted. You start to take place in higher and higher stakes with a very slim chance of winning. (Inviting Angelica to the Tyr concert)

Dear Angelica Shanyrria,

I hope you and your Fey slaves are doing fine. I just wanted to inform you that you are probably the luckiest student around because you just got a ticket to a Tyr concert! This is a VIP ticket with a special meet the band session and everything. You wouldnt pass on this rare opportunity, would you? Please come with us so we will have a blindingly beautiful woman with us. I bet the band will remember us forever if you meet them. Needless to say if you cross my plan I will be insulted and we dont want that, do we?

*Ticket is attached to the letter*

Best regards, Jozin Redregard.

*The contents of a gilded letter:*

"Dear Jozin Redregard,

I regret to inform you that I will not be able to attend this musical event you have invited me to. I am simply too busy to have any recreational time. (Trying to get a child into schooling, building a new home, a right mess, I assure you.)

If you ever have a similar event, do not be afraid to invite me once more, I don't have anything planned for quite some time. I have mailed your ticket back to you, if you cannot find someone else to give it to, I will happily compensate for an lost currency.

Wishing the best, Baroness Shanyrria

(PS, i'm more than just an attractive woman you know, but thank you for the compliment. I'm flattered.)

PS.: Dont forget to bring an extra pair of pants because this concert is going to RIP!

Best regards, Jozin Redregard.

>Prodigy Student Found by local Albino

You look around for enchanted blades that steal mana or vitality, but you can’t find any from your usual retailers. Apparently, they’re typically dangerous business to handle. Thus, you elect to go and find someone who will sell you one. It takes quite a bit of effort, but eventually, you find a dealer. You walk in the alley to make your transaction.

The robed, hooded man grins as you explain what you’re looking for. He tells you that he has something that’s exactly what you’re looking for. The Shady Dealer draws a sheathed blade from a bag of holding and then hands it to you. The scabbard itself is plain, with aged black leather and dull steel metal. You draw the sword to inspect it, and feel a sharp pain race up from your sword arm. You collapse to the ground in pain, and the Shady Dealer laughs.

“Congratulations, your wish has been granted. Oblivion has chosen you to be his bearer.” The man smiles. “Do enjoy your new blade. I’m certain that he will enjoy you.” He says ominously, disappearing in a burst of flames. You can hear thoughts in your head. To kill, to maim, and to destroy anything that comes your way… You should probably get someone to dispel the curse on this blade quickly.

>Received Oblivion, the Blade of Desolation
>T5 Longsword
>[Unbroken Grasp] You are permanently bound to this item unless you find a way to remove the curse. You cannot wield another weapon while this item is bound to you. Whenever you try to discard the blade, you find it on your person in the next few minutes. Ironically enough, this item cannot be destroyed.
>[Grim Harvest] Each time you make an attack, you may pay up to 3 points of Vitality. Each point paid allows you to steal up to 2 points of the target’s Vitality during your next attack.
>[Whispers of Ruin] The spirit within the blade drives you to perform acts of destruction. +10 to actions that involve destroying objects(but not combat), but -20 to actions that involve creation or preservation.
>[Path of Destruction] The blade compels you to show no mercy, even in otherwise friendly battles. When you reduce an opponent to 0 Vitality, you must pass a DC 50 roll, otherwise you must kill or destroy the target.
>[Ill-fated Demise] If you die while wielding this blade, something terrible will happen.

Your job by Dermot was to watch for suspicious activity. He’s likely going to use that info to help his employers, and as such, make it difficult for Eliza. Still, if it means getting to the bossman and taking care of them… You decide to do your job. Sitting there hours at a time gets boring, but you keep at it.

Eventually, you spot something interesting. It’s… Eliza. Strangely enough, she hasn’t spotted you yet, or even looked in your general direction. If she uses her Divination, she should be able to see you, but maybe… she trusts you enough not to keep you on watch all the time? That’s touching. You watch as she meets up with another Amsterdam student that you recognize as Francis: Amsterdam’s Arena Ace. He’s represented the academy multiple times, and even fought here in Madrid during their tournament, once.

Eliza gives him an unknown package. A medium-sized box wrapped in brown paper. Afterwards, they depart like they never met. Your task was to report suspicious activity, and this is definitely suspicious but… do you really have to be truthful about it? Maybe you should do something.

You attempt to dress appropriately for the occasion. Trenchcoats aren’t edgy, right ? Then, you walk by yourself to the address Helia gave you. A few seconds later, a tall blonde man opens the door. His eyes widen when he sees you. You attempt to give him your best smile, but only manage a weird smirk. Your palms are sweaty, knees weak arms spaghetti. No vomit on your sweater yet. The man gives you look of disbelief. “Please tell me you aren’t my daughter’s boyfriend.” Off to a good start. Earth manipulation, or geomancy, is considered a difficult subject to master, as molding earth, a solid, is a lot more difficult than shaping water or air. Lily, your succubus, has an innate knowledge about how magical charm spells work, and you use that to your advantage. Unlike other mind-related spells, they key to charm spells is a suggestion-based approach rather than a forceful one. The charmer can speak words that advise a certain course of action, and the target will consider those words as if they themselves had thought of it. Thus, powerful charm spells cut out the middleman entirely and even implant the thought directly in the target’s mind.

You make a spell that should hopefully put a stop to that. You test it several times with Lily, the little one giving you suggestions while you try to counteract that. After several attempts(and several purchases of ice cream for Lily), you manage to make a spell that should protect you from the worst effects of Charm spells.

You begin scouting, and even manage to get a hold of the building’s floorplans. It’s a two-floor nightclub, the bottom floor being the public dance floor and bar, while the upper area is the VIP lounge. The are four entrances and exits in this building, not counting any windows. There’s the front door, the back door, the employee’s only side entrance, and the fire escape that leads to the second floor. Interesting.

Next, you check the plumbing. Mainly, the sprinkler system. Apparently, it functions a little differently to other system, because this one is linked up to its own individual source of water. The waiting area for meeting the band before the concert has an open bar with all the beer and liquor you can drink. As group after group comes and go, takes the picture and they sign the skulls of some of their fans, you are already buzzed. When the official photographer comes to take the picture of the group, you are already a tumbling mess. But you feel great, you try to go in a competition with Kari’s brother to see who can take more shots of aquavit, but Kari stops both of you in your tracks. The band meeting went good except for the part where they tried to kick Zoot out because they didn’t allowed Devil’s lettuce on the premises but one of the members asked for a small toke with that bloke.

When it came time for the concert you are already drunk as a skunk. The guards take notice of this and they keep a close eye near you. I mean, they don't want any potential trouble. As soon as the opening bands are over, and the pit starts to form you cast a venue wide Ragnarok spell. This confuses and enhances the crowd and the emotion from the crowd and everyone nearby. Zoot is immune to the Ragnarok spell due to him being currently in the stratosphere. The crowd dances and thrashes around and makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Sure, some people fall and you think you remember someone getting kick straight in the face, but nothing out of the ordinary for a metal concert. On the more quiet songs, the crowd sings along perfectly and you, barely, remember the lead singer, of the guitarist, saying that this was one of the most memorable concerts in their career. They end up with an encore of their best songs.
>>
On the way back to the Madrid dormitories, you are already a mumbling mess that can barely hold himself up straight. This part of the night turns into darkness as your brain stops recording your activities and memories. You recall that you wanted to have a man to man talk with Bolder about Kari Oili, how you were an excellent prospect for her and how you will take care of her. You don't remember the time that Frank or Zoot left, you don't know if Kari also fell asleep on your couch but you know that she’s here the next morning. But Bolder looks… weird. He looks like he hasn't slept all night and he’s just staring at you with a mixed state of confusion, sadness and despair. You wake up shirtless and you cannot find the Pendant anywhere in your room. As much as you want to go and turn around your bedroom Kari calls you both for breakfast: eggs and bacon.

Many people may rest, but doctors are not among those people. Somewhere, sometime, people will get hurt. It is an inevitability you must face, even in the safest of workplaces. Thus, you elect to work in the clinic some more. You’re the acting school nurse, after all, and that’s always well and good. You’ve treated some students with broken legs, broken arms, and of course, mana burn. Time flies as you work, but one particular thing comes to mind.

A young blonde woman walked into the clinic the other day. Of course, one would think that she’s a woman, but your experience with Remi tells you otherwise. You briefly ponder the absurdity of it all, but it seems you can tell a woman from a boy in disguise quite easily now. Before, you didn’t actually have a proper summoning spell. You had a summoning ritual, but that wasn’t quite the same. Rituals are difficult to cast during combat, because you need several moments of uninterrupted concentration. Thus, an actual spell for combat would be ideal. You gather your materials and get to work.

As you may already know, Fey are not unlike Demons or Celestials. They have their own hierarchy and power. They even have their own factions, splitting between the courts of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Your affiliation with the Court of Spring is already quite strong, so you base your summoning spell on them first.

It was a little difficult to gather reagents for your spellcrafting ritual(a honeycomb from a wild beehive?), but you manage to accumulate them all. You link the location to the Court of Spring and select yourself as a target. That should cause a Fey from the Court of Spring to choose you as a target to aid. Theoretically. While you’re certain that it will definitely summon a Fey from the Court of Spring, you have a feeling that you might not be able to summon the same one every time unless you establish a Summoning Contract with them. Ah well, a soldier is just as good.

You go with Rosen to the mall. She holds your hand as you walk through the place, and has this look of awe and wonder on her face. Some people give you a strange look, but considering that this place has Earth Elementals walking around, some people don’t think it too strange anymore. As it turns out, despite her demure and reserved nature(likely having taken cues from you), she’s also extremely curious of her surroundings. When she knows you’re in the mood, Rosen points at something she wants to learn about and then asks you a question. You do your best to answer each and every one with precision.

The bookstore is a good place to begin, and you purchase some high-quality pencils and notebooks. You’ve taught her how to read and write, and she’s been a quick study. Still, this doesn’t stop her from writing and drawing on the papers they use for tests. Rosen is still a child, after all. You leave her to keep sketching as you purchase these school supplies. Once that’s done, you take her to the next place - the department store.

The department store is a whole different place from the bookstore. The latter was small and comfy, while the former is large and alien. Especially to Rosen, who clings to your hand while at the same time scanning each new thing she sees with scrutiny. The Earth Elemental products in particular are still quite expensive, but she examines the most out of everything. It’s here that you purchase a school backpack for her. You buy something high-quality, but not overly extravagant. Rosen looks super excited as you purchase the bag, immediately opting to put it on her back all the way home.

The uniforms should be sent to your home soon, each piece custom made, as they apparently ran out of uniforms in the school store. No problem for someone of your stature, though. You had it tailored specifically for Rosen’s body and shape, making it a perfect fit. There’s even a slot for her wings! Rosen tries to hide the full extent of her excitement for school with the composure lessons you’ve given her, but it’s evident that she’s absolutely giddy. Your pseudo-daughter thanks you profusely when you put her to bed that night.

It rivals even some of the taller buildings in the academy. The best part? You left some more space in case you wanted to expand further. You look proudly on your work, and start the process of moving some of your magical equipment inside. Maybe you should throw a celebration.

>+1 Structural Engineering
>You now own a [Wizard’s Tower]

>Once every two turns, you may add an additional +10 to any action you perform inside. This bonus cannot be stacked with the other tower bonus.

Tree Stride’s range leaves something to be desired. While it does allow for quick movement in forested areas, when trees are sparse, it becomes difficult to use reliably. Thus, you elect to improve the range aspect specifically. It takes some figuring out, but when you do, it works really well. By ‘stretching’ your mana outwards, you can almost double the range of your spell. In fact, you’re certain that with some training, you can go really far.
>Learn Tree Stride modifier: T1 Long Distance
>Adds a 1.5x multiplier to the base Tree Stride spell. Each tier increases the multiplier by +0.5
>[Reaching Energies] The base multiplier is now 2.0x. Each tier increases the multiplier by +1.0

You purchase some of the Grim Rounds, as well as a Harpoon of Tartarus. Benjamin grins. “Trust me, miss Annabelle; you will not be disappointed.” You tell him to send to send it to your ‘offices’ where a man will pick them up. He thanks you for your purchase, and you walk away satisfied that your plan has gone off without a hitch so far.

The footprints aren’t too difficult to follow, however they go on for quite some distance. Sometimes the footprints get lost between the bushes but you are still able to keep them in sight. You follow them, soon entering the Grimwoods. The tracks become a bit more difficult to follow, due to the foliage and the lack of light, but ever determined, you continue to pursue. You eventually find yourself at a long abandoned campsite, the fire pit having only the slightest remnants of embers. Next to the campfire, you find a girl, breathing, but seemingly unconscious. Around the campfire you can also see small footprints that may or not belong to small woodland critters.

You visit the mana control class, and learn a lot. The teacher explains how to manage one’s magic energy more efficiently, and you take that advice to heart. You look around for the demon hunter, and after a few run-ins with old men that look like him, you discover that your hunch was indeed right. The familiar old man looks a lot more casual and relaxed here than he did back in Amsterdam. You almost do not recognize, as Elbert is wearing cargo shorts and a hawaiian shirt. He sees you, and gives you a wave. “Young master Erdna, good to see you. I was worried. Glad to see you’re safe. This place is quite peaceful. I don’t sense any demons.” You make some small talk with the man, who reveals that he is having visiting the city. You take some books and try your learn about Music Theory. In the introduction it tells you about the three main ways to play music. The first is called ‘Rudiments, which are more of the key signatures, and rhythmic notations. The Theory holds more on the study of the harmony, counterpoint and form. The second is the study in ancient times. The history and music formed through ages of man and how some are used as transportation, communication through the control of mana. The third is the is the more known for the people to seek and define each process and principle of music. You decide to take some private lessons from Balthazar on Divine Theory. The middle-aged man obliges you, teaching you what there is to know about Divine Theory. Theories are essentially the knowledge and aptitude of a certain subject, and Divine Theory is no different. It focuses on the power that Divinity holds. A powerful enough being can gain Divinity if they are worshiped, which in turns allows those beings to suffuse their magic with Divine energy. Typically, this power is directly proportionate to the strength of the being’s faith, as well as the faith and worship in the deity in question. This means that a devout priest may have more power of the Divine Arts than say, a faithless heathen.

You walk into the classroom, intent on learning about Mana, and while there’s a surprisingly small amount of people inside, you learn a lot. Mana is everywhere, in life, in death, in people, and even the environment. Mana Reserves Class helps train you to increase your pool of magical energy so that you can keep casting spells. After all, a mage who cannot cast spells is just another man. The best part is that you got to walk away with a cool necklace. Apparently, it should help you manage the flow of mana much more easily.
