(We're using the Speed Duel format until the end of the first tournament arc)
----------------------------------------------------------------
You are Gerard Xavier, a begginer duelist who entered the Kaibacorp Begginers Tournament. You just went to sleep after a very stressful day day, but you know you have to get up early.

The Tournament Finals are today.

EPISODE 10

You sleep of nothing. Cold, unmoving nothing.

Until you see light.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

You wake up.
...and you overslept! There is no time to visit the shop right now, nor is there time to visit the shrine. You quickly get up and go to the Main Square.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

You arrive just in time for the apperance of Seto Kaiba.
>Welcome, participants. Some of you probably expect a long speech, but I'd rather not waste time now and get right to the tournament finals. However, first I have an issue to adres.
>In the last couple days, a new summoning method has surfaced, called Xyz summoning. While it is still unknown where it came from or who created it, we know that several cards that use it have found their way into this tournament. After investigating the situation and talking with the players that obtained these cards, I have decided to make this formal announcement:
>The usage of Xyz monsters is now oficially authorized in Kaibacorp tournaments, untill stated otherwise.

>Now for the 16 players who quallified for the finals...
>>
>This is the official tournament bracket. Everyone not included is dismissed.
>All of the 16 players included here are quallified to enter the Kaibacorp Medium Level Tournament. Additional prizes will be awarded based on how high one gets in this bracket, ranging from DP bonuses to rare cards chosen specifically for the player's deck.

>Now is the last chance to make any changes in your deck before the first round of the finals!

You draw.

Your opponent's field:
1x Gear Golem the Moving Fortress
1x Set Monster
1x Set card

Your hand:

Uniflora, Mystical Beast of the Forest

Your draw:

Your plays?
>>
If only we had a Main Phase 2 we could attack and summon behemoth after ;_;

Set Tanngrisnir, pass
>>
>>1673597
Backing this.
>>
>>1673597
No you couldn't, not this turn.
>>
>>1673600
Why not?
>>
>>1673606
Ok, an alternative: You would attack with a 1000 attack monster and then sack it for a 2000 one?
>>
>>1673609
The plan would be, if we had a MP2 in which to summon:

Attack with Momonga, dies through combat -> summon two momongas
sac momongas for behemoth

But since we don't have a Main2, we're just settings Tanngrisnir and passing.
>>
>>1673612
Momonga can't die through combat if all opposing monsters are defence mode, and it does not trigger on traps and effects.
>>
>>1673618
oh, i must've misremembered the rules, i thought if you attack something with higher def your thing dies
>>
>>1673609
Are we talking about this turn right now or last turn? Either way, I think setting goat so that if either of our monsters are destroyed we'll have tribute fodder for full power behemoth is the right play.

>>1673612
If you're talking about last turn after man eater bug went off, not only could momonga not be swapped to attack position during the battle phase, but she has no attack position monsters to crash momonga into.
>>
>>1673620
No, you just take damage equal to the difference. Only certain cards like des kangaroo, or some superheavy samurai will destroy like that.
>>
You set Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts and pass.

Your opponent's field:
1x Gear Golem the Moving Fortress
1x Set Monster
1x Set card

Your hand:
Key Mouse

Uniflora, Mystical Beast of the Forest
Behemoth the King of All Animals

Your draw:
Kalantosa Mystical Beast of the Forest

Your plays?
>>
>>1673648
What's our graveyard, only 1x tree otter?

Tribute Tanngrisnir and Momonga for Behemoth, return Tanngrisnir and Tree otter to hand
Attack Gear Golem
>>
>>1673668
This seems like it should work. I'm tempted to uniflora into kalantosa to destroy that set spell/trap, but since we can't capitalize on it right now, and behemoth recycles, let's do your play.
>>
>>1673668
I'll back this then. We've got Book of Moon in case of shenanigans.
>>
Sorry people but that's all for today, we'll continue tomorrow.

>>
You tribute Tanngrisnir and Tree Otter to Summon Behemoth the King of All Animals in attack mode. It's effect triggers, targetting Tnngrisnir and Tree Otter.
>Chain! I activate Bottomless Trap Hole!

I dont know the rules, but if playmaker says it works, I'll trust him
>>
>>1677167
Do it. Flip behemoth.

>>1677192
Bottomless doesn't target, so it can't resolve without a monster that has atk points on the field.
>>
>>1677202
How come they still have a set card? Does Bottomless not go to grave if it fizzles?

Also, why did kalantosa disappear from our hand? We drew it last turn and didnt use it.

Well the problem is that Anti-Fun Police seems a bit too unsynergized right now. We'd have a much easier time bringing out Void OG in CyberGears I think, but I'm still not too sure. We could easily fuck ourselves over with our own cards in Anti-Fun Police - Pachycephalo and L&D Dragon come to mind.
>>
>>1677579
I think you'd be pleasantly surprised at how much that deck list can do.
>>
>>1677610
Yeah but I know from experience using decks like that that any one bad initial hand can fuck you over for the whole match.
>>
>>1673346
...this bracket is written weird.

If there's only one box in the "finals" column, then that box should have both duelists who duel in the final round in it. But the boxes only have one duelist written per box.

The "finals" column should say "winner", the "semifinals" column should say "finals", the "quarterfinals" column should say "semifinals", and we should be participating in the "quarterfinals" against Lara.

I hope we get naturia beast if we win this whole thing.

Your plays?
>>
>>1682566
I'm not sure whether its better to combo out Uniflora -> Kalantosa, Ayers -> Uniflora, Uniflora -> Baboon
or just summoning momonga and saving it.

If she attacks twice we could special summon yellow baboon from hand when doing the momonga plan

I think saving those combo pieces is better for now, since we're not gaining any immediate advantage by doing so and only open ourselves up to getting the results wiped

Gonna go with Momonga, Pass unless anyone has a better plan

Kalantosa, Mystical Beast of the Forest

Your draw:
Key Mouse

Your plays?
>>
>>1682628
Wait what the fuck i thought she could get only one fog counter because she didnt get one last turn

Rules question, if we attack and one of our monsters dies and we special summon Baboon from its effect, can it attack that turn?

Also I got no good turn, someone become a wizard and save us
Fucking Synchros needing an even amount of levels goddamnit
>>
>>1682663
It gets one for itself. I just forgot the first time.
>>
>>1682666
Fuck
Can we do some heart of the cards bullshit with our draws, because we need that

If we set Uniflora and our opponent declares an attack on it, does that attack get negated when we sac it in response?
>>
>>1682671
It's not a quick effect.

And for quick effect cases, the enemy just gets to re-pick the attack target. I learned that the hard way years ago.
>>
>>1682759
Fucking yugioh not having keywords

How the fuck do i know whether an effect is a quick effect ree

Well anyways, I see no good play here, so I'll wait for someone else to have a good idea.

I'm assuming we can't ayers rock in response to baboon either?
>>
>>1682766
It's quick if it tells you you can activate it during your opponents turn. Otherwise, It's main phase only.

Read up on Spell Speeds.
http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Spell_Speed
>>
>>1682628
>Cloudians
>Cannot be destroyed by battle
Fuck. Our attacks can still go through to inflict damage anyway.

I refuse to fucking lose this this early in the matches. She'll just keep summoning more Cloudians to get more Fog Tokens so we can't wait for any tributing. I doubt she has any XYZ either. No Cloudian has any attack power above 1K except Eye of the Typhoon at 3K, and I doubt she'll be able to bust that out this early. I think the best thing we can do at the moment is simply set Kalantosa and pass. If we survive to the next turn, we can attempt to use Uniflora and Ayers Rock to pull some shenanigans that may or may not result in Yellow Baboon or Armory Arm. We'll see.

So yeah, set Kalantosa and pass, and hope I didn't fuck this up for us.
>>
>>1682925
wouldn't kalantosa just get fogged and her having lethal with three cirros?
>>
>>1682925
I guess we can still blow something up with kalantosa using uniflora or ayers rock, so I'll support that

>>1682957
I mean, what are the odds she has 3 out of 3 in the first 6? cards of her deck?
>>
>>1682974
She could have something to pull if it's an aggressive deck.
>>
>>1682628
Her field: one Cirrostratus with one counter and one with none.

Our play:
Normal summon uniflora, activate its effect to summon Kalantosa in defense position. Kalantosa effect pops the Cirrostratus with a counter. Use Ayers Rock to grab uniflora to grab baboon.
>>
>>1683117
That sounds like our best bet.
>>
>>1683117
Changing my idea to this one. I just went with my own idea initially because I looked through all the Cloudian cards and other than Cirrostratus there isn't any other card she can use right now that can fuck us over really soon, and I also noticed their low low low attack power, so yeah.
I guess our way to win against her deck is to keep attacking her attack mode Cloudians for life point damage while making sure she can't break through us.
>>
>>1683117
>>1683117
Backing this.
