You are Lieutenant Matsumoto Rangiku, daughter of Captain Kusajishi Riku and the second in command of her Ninth Division. Although if you're being totally honest it's more like you and the Commandos run the Division, while it's your mother's job to manage you and the Commandos. That means backing you up in combat, dealing with the Central 46 and the Royal Guard, with gods and arrancars.

Meanwhile, you're left to deal with her houseguest.

“That was rather good, for what you called 'just' leftovers,” Kasumiōji Rurichiyo compliments you. “The meal must have been spectacular if you consider this... diminished.”

“Well, Yo... Captain Shihōin, that is, she was the one who made it,” you tell her. “One of her hobbies.”

“One?” Rurichiyo asks inquisitively. “She has more than one hobby? Is she this good at all of them?”

“Well, she's a noblewoman,” you shrug. “You know how it is, they expect you to know how to do a lit of different 'refined' things. She learned Chinese cooking because she wanted one of her hobbies to actually be useful.”

“Who is 'they'?” Rurichiyo asks you.

“Other noblewomen,” you clarify, sealing a container of fried rice and taking it over to the refrigerator. “Even the ones who serve in the Gotei 13 make it a point to quibble like bored housewives, like it's instinctive.”

Inside the refrigerator however there's a problem: the space you cleared suddenly has something there. It's a glowing orange box, which would have been strange enough were it not for the fact that your mother's hand is inside it.

“The Kasumiōji retainer sent some assassins after Rurichiyo,” she reports directly to your mind using kidō. “Fifty of them to be precise, all wielding those bakkotō. Yoruichi and I will be cleaning up around here, so we'll have to leave you in charge.”

“Be careful, some of these may have unique powers like our own zanpakuto do. Treat them with caution.”

So she must be just out of range of her Tenteikūra, and unable to get to her denreishinki or else in a position where she doesn't want to make any noise... instead she's had the bright idea to sever her own hand by placing a kidō barrier around it and teleporting the barrier to effectively extend her range of contact.

Insane... but it seems to have worked.

“Is there something the matter?” Rurichiyo chirps.

You immediately shut the door to the refrigerator to prevent her from accidentally seeing your Captain's severed hand inside... you're not entirely sure you can explain that in such a way that she won't freak out, and you're also not sure you want her knowing that there are assassins after her life for the second time in twenty-four hours.

“It's cold in here, so I'm recalling my hand now,” Riku's voice informs you. “See you in a bit, sweetie.”

“No space,” you tell her truthfully. “I'll work something out, why don't you go sit outside in the reception room with Kenryū and Enryū while I sort things in here?”

“Okay?”

Rurichiyo wasn't born yesterday of course, so she remains skeptical of your hasty explanation.

“No?” you ask hopefully.

“Well, my Captain's hand was in the fridge,” you admit carefully, hoping to start Rurichiyo off confused so that she won't be able to panic. “That was the problem.”

“Your Captain... what?” Rurichiyo asks, looking totally befuddled.

Precisely what you wanted.

“Well she's too far to communicate with kidō,” you explain carefully, “and had to warn us that apparently one of your retainers sent assassins. So instead she teleported her hand, extended her range. Clever, actually.”

“Wait, which retainer sent assassins?” Rurichiyo asks nervously. “Are we in danger?”

“I doubt it,” you shake your head. “The Ninth Division's one of the best security forces in the Seireitei, and you're right in the heart of our Headquarters. If you even get a split hair from this, it'd be pretty embarrassing for us.”

“We suppose your reassurances are quite justified,” Rurichiyo nods, seemingly still calm. “Your Captain was quite right it seems to leave us in your care.”

“Good,” you nod. “Good. So I need you and your bodyguards to stay here, inside the inner walls where we've got the best chances to respond to the attackers.”

“Did your Captain tell us how many assassins are coming?” Kenryū asks. Strangely, Enryū still hasn't spoken a single word since his arrival.

“Fifty... or something like that.”

“Fifty?” Kenryū gulps. “We barely escaped from six!”

“If all goes well you won't even see them,” you shrug.

You scrawl a pattern along your left arm and extend it to your side. “Tenteikūra!”

Finding all the relevant minds, you relay the beginnings of your plan. “So we have fifty assassins on their way. Each has a sword that can apparently match a Bankai for a short period at the cost of the wielder's life. My plan is to use the Commandos and arrancar to limit their approaches, help the balance of our forces concentrate fire on any survivors.”

“Oh, and killing them isn't enough. You have to destroy their bodies entirely. Deploy fireteams immediately.”

You grab Haineko from the wall niche where she lives and thrust her sheath through your sash. “Alright, let's get to it. Kenryū, Enryū... if we fail to contain them, guard your charge with your lives.”

“You don't need to tell us that,” Kenryū acknowledges.

“No,” you shake your head, “and it's not an order either. But it is an expectation.”

Then you step out into the night air, heading straight to the teahouse atop the highest point on the grounds. It has an extensive view of the surrounding plain, the perfect point to coordinate a defense from. It takes a few minutes for your peers to join you atop your perch, having passed on their orders to the fireteams.

“Report,” you order.

“Seems we're good,” Kai nods. “Just a matter of when they decide to turn up.”

“Fireteams are positioned between the inner courts,” Rukia tells you.

“And our friends are spread around the grounds,” Mirai tells you. “And so what should we do?”

>We remain here. We'll move in if it seems like the plan isn't working.

If we want to be really cautious, we should have an escape route planned for Ruri and her bodyguards if for whatever reason everything goes wrong. Is the valley of screams an option? >>

>>1695557
Two considerations:
1) Rangiku doubts any assassin will make it to the heart of her Division's defensive line, and if they DID the situation would be fucked anyway.
2) If Rurichiyo weren't present, the assassins might not actually commit. That leaves them in play as a potential threat.
>>
>>1695587
How they gonna know she ain't there?
She has no spiritual power for them to detect.

They might hone in on ken and en, but then we can just leave them in the house and move ruri out.
Better safe than sorry, right? Again, no reason not to.
>>
Rolled 10, 2, 9 = 21 (3d10)

>>1695596
She does. In canon they had to dress her up in a funny-ass hat that suppressed her reiatsu while she was in the living world.

Also, diceing for Kai.
>>
>>1695565
Well, there are a few reasons. First off is we are super selective with who we even allow to know of the valley's existence. Shouldn't resort to it if we don't have to.

Second, like somebody mentioned, I wasn't even sure if it was a possible option. Did Rangiku call on the Arrancar? I was unclear if that even happened.

Third, don't want to tip our hand early. We have good reason to believe that she is going to be plenty protected as is.
>>
>>1695601
But... she's essentially a normal soul, isn't she?
Hmm. In that case, maybe use rangiku's bankai to spoof her presence, make it feel like she's somewhere else.
>>
>>1695596
Kind of a risk to assume they wouldn't have any number of ways of tracking her. They've had years to keep tabs on her and plan things. They might have some kind of tracking spell on her they had been sneaking into her (Ruri)Cheerios gradually over 10 years that is virtually untraceable. It's not likely, but its the sort of thing, or something like it, that would be unwise to discount.

Anyway, making the enemy commit to an all out assault and moving her if necessary sounds like a more tactically sound plan than stuffing her in a pocket dimension for an indeterminate amount of time. That way they play their hand out and we can take whatever advantage of them we want from there.
>>
>>1695640
Well, it doesn't *have* to be the valley itself, apacchi could just hide in the void between worlds, or even hueco mundo.
Just in case of emergency, you know.
>>
>>1695601
“This has to be a feint,” you decide, hanging back at the top of the tower. “Where are the rest?”

Kai immediately releases Kamitinbe's Bankai, forming heavy stone barriers that entrap the first wave of assassins. It's Halibel that moves to support him, gathering a powerful cero at the center of Tiburon's blade that burns like a small sun in the dark. The blast itself rocks the entire Division grounds, cracking Kai's walls from the overpressure waves and annihilating the assassins.

All except for one, that is. At the center of the blast zone the earth has been upset, flipped into low defensive walls set within the heavier walls created by your Third Seat.

“If he survived that,” you mutter, seizing upon an idea. “Growl, Haineko!”

“There!” Mirai reports. “East wall.”

“I see them,” you reply, spotting a group of just four figures dashing through the darkness. “They're moving in small groups, should be another ten teams just like that running about.”

“And it only takes one,” Mirai nods in understanding. “That is their plan.”

>Relay orders to your fireteams to concentrate rifle fire on the East wall.

No normal hollows in hueco mundo are gonna be able to fuck with any of our arrancar friends, and they can just come back if somehow the situation is worse than having 50 41 bankai'd assasins trying to fuck her up.

Sure, sounds like a good backup.

I just caution against resorting to the most extreme solution first, in case they are able to think up a counter and we are out of options.

It is good to have other things to fall back on--with the caveat that doing so isn't a liability. The first line of defense needs to be formidable in and of itself. I think the entire 9th division qualifies as formidable.

We can save the less conventional stuff as a backup, secure in the knowledge that doing so will be even more effective due to its obscurity.

Might as well let them tire themselves out so that they won't even have the option of adapting and coming up with a way around plan B.
>>
>>1695690
>Conjure individual ash copies of Ruri on the run. always have her appear to turn a corner and let them give chase. It's highly unlikely they have Tenkeikura-wide communications network across all 40 assassins so they'll likely make the final decisions themselves to give chase. Rangiku doesn't have to conjure up a whole copy of Rurichiyo, she can just conjure up small silhouette part that turns the corner in an alleyway with Ruri's reiatsu signature. Lead the assassins by the nose. Follow the white rabbit so to speak.
>>
>>1695659
>>Other?
Set up a solid defensive line then have kill teams clean them up (preferably with heavy hitters who can move fast- each with an arrancar or a couple commandos) , most distant targets first. Drive them into the wall (put Kai on wall duty, I think Rukia is already there. and cut off their paths of egress with the kill teams.
>>
>>1695690
>Herd the assassins by playing "Follow the white rabbit" using ash copies of Ruri, you don't have to directly control all of them. you can also lead them in a circle around the compound which saves energy for Rangiku. If the Assassins are fixiated on killing Ruri no matter the cost, then why stop to think when the target is right in front of your nose?
>>
>>1695734
If it wasn't clear, I am advocating a "rock and a hard place" idea. Solid defense in the middle then send out other forces to drive them inwards at a pace that limits their responsive options. Encircle the encirclement!

“Fireteams, shift east!” you order. “Concentrate fire two meters above the east gate!”

The crack of gunfire and the blasts of kidō are immediate, and you can feel that Apacci is heading in to finish off the assassins along the east wall. She's already the closest, so it should only be a brief effort for her and her cero will probably be perfect for the task.

You also have an idea...

“Bankai: Byakkokiri!” you call out, releasing your Bankai in a shimmering wave of steel dust.

You can sense Haineko wondering what you have planned: less actual words, but the question is obviously there for you to answer.

“You got a good look at the little princess in there,” you tell your sword. “And her bodyguards too for that matter. How would you like to try making copies of them?”

Haineko seems eager to oblige, and you spread her ashes thin around the inner walls of the inner courtyard. It's only possible for you to create two sets of figures. One tracks north, and the other south in an attempt to draw two more teams of assassins. And you succeed wildly, catching not just four but eight assassins on the northward path. The southern half are set upon by Mila Rose, while in the north Sung-Sun goes after the eight.

The only other place I've seen a triple one was in Banished quest, I think. That one resulted in the mc psychically relaying graphic sex to all of his teammates/waifus
>>
>>1696084
there was another triple one in banished quest later on which got the MC killed by the first waifu by accident. the quest would've ended there if the anons hadn't figured out a way to revive the MC through sheer force of will.

>>1696115
Yeah, I'm glad Queen isn't Soma

There was also the nat 3 during the training with the chick with horns. T very nearly killed the MC and by surviving made the gods themselves want to kill the MC.

But hey, a nat 30 got us a +4 to teaching rolls!

You can feel it when Sung-Sun releases her zanpakuto, there's no doubt there. She can easily handle the situation, and even if she can't Starrk and Mirai are still in play to back her up. Mila Rose is probably going to use her four assassins as chew toys, and the survivor from the group of ten that charged in as a distraction are going to have to face Halibel and Kai. Though he's still alive and somehow evading Halibel's attacks and working around Kai's attempts to control the battlefield he hasn't landed a single attack in response.

Which makes your next move obvious. The moat below you has filled in with mist of some kind, and you can't see where Rukia is. Worse, you can tell that her opponent is strong.

“Mirai, move in closer to Lady Kasumiōji. Make sure nothing gets through,” you instruct. “I'm heading into that mist to check on Rukia.”

“Understood, ma'am,” Mirai replies stoically. “Leave it to me.”

You then dive straight down into the moat, landing on ice beneath your feet... Rukia's doubtless frozen several assassins into the water down here, and from the reiatsu you feel like she's succeeded in freezing them solid before their bakkotō were able to expand into their bodies. So that situation is probably stable. It's obvious that there was a survivor: like the one who warped stone to defend himself, only this one has manifested a bank of low-lying fog.

“Lieutenant!” Rukia calls out, quickly finding you even as you recover Haineko's ashes and spread them across the ice and up the walls of the moat.

“One of the assassins survived my trap,” she confirms quickly. “I haven't been able to locate him... even after using Sode no Shirayuki blindly.”

“I see,” you nod thoughtfully. “Take a walk.”

“You what?” she replies. “Lieutenant?”

“Watch Lady Rurichiyo,” you order. “We've been stretched too thin, and I have a better chance of finding this guy. So we'll switch roles.”

After a moment, you hear her response. “Yes, ma'am.”

“Who said you could leave?” a masculine voice responds angrily as Rukia moves up the inner wall of the moat. You feel something strike Haineko's ashes and bounce off, with a feeling of smug satisfaction from your own sword that you can't help but share.

“Who said you could follow?” you smile smugly.

“Your ability is neat, but too obvious,” you declare into the mists. “You can merge your body into the mist created by your bakkotō, and you used it down here to prevent me from dispersing it easily.”

After a few moments, you hear a strained reply. “Sure, kill all the fun why don't you.”

You sigh, pinching your nose. “See, this kind of shit is why I hate self-obsessed men.”

Movement to your left is just enough to telegraph your opponent's planned attack, and you solidify part of Haineko's blade to parry.

“Very good response,” the assassin replies calmly. “But how long can you keep that up before you make a mistake?”

“Haineko!” you shout, dashing forward into the unknown. Steel and ash swirl around your body as regular strides become flash steps. But you're not finished yet.

“Tsuzuri Raiden!”

You basically transform yourself and the space around you into a rapdily-moving blender of steel crystals and electricity, casting a wide net of destruction that fills the entire moat. Everything you pass is lacerated and electrocuted, deep gouges appear in the stonework and the ice beneath your feet shatters.

The mist disperses, the assassin who was maintaining it either killed or wounded beyond his staying power. You catch a glimpse of something heading up and 'over the top', but by the time you've changed your course and shifted the cloud of death that is your Bankai to bring it to bear the assassin is gone.

All around your Division battles seem to be wrapping up. You can only wonder how your mothers' fight is going...

“Cold?” Yoruichi muses. “You end up in the fridge?”

“Probably,” Riku admits, testing her fingers before releasing the barrier she'd drawn around her hand now that the stump and appendage have been reunited. “Now then, back to the matter at hand?”

Yoruichi rolls her eyes. “That one was dreadful.”

We tried.

I think the formula for STRONK is something like skill + strong enemy - backup

I don't think everyone's training has been "riku" enough thus far.
Their lives were never on the line, so of course they never made any real growth.

We need to give them training with a very real threat of death.
>>
It's almost like everyone's constantly stuck behind a brick wall in their training, and something has to force them to break through it.
A situation where it's all or nothing, you either succeed or you fucking bite it, where you have no choice but to do it.

>Get called in to train with riku
>She's not satisfied with the results of our training
>She looks fucking pissed
>Start sparring with her
>Fuck up my parry again
>Mfw she actually cuts me deep, straight across the chest
>She doesn't stop fighting
>She's actually pushing harder and faster
>Holy shit
>Blast her right in the face with shakkaho
>She just keeps coming

There's the goddamn training they need.

To be fair, she wasn't in any imminent danger of losing, she just had no way to locate the last surviving assassin from the team she iced. So Rangiku swapped places, because she can use Haineko's ashes to track footfalls.

Rukia was also in a fight of her own against another one of the weirdos, in which she was faring well at the switch in perspectives.

Question:
With all of the action being somehow magnetized or drawn to 9th division, how bad is the power/experience gap between 9th division and the other 12 divisions? Although I do remember Shunsui's division seeing some action in WWI, while Aizen purposefully meat-grinded division 5 to become weak. “I'll pay attention to you when you do something worth noticing!” you snap, glaring at the loud-mouthed nobleman in front of you. It's hard to avoid noticing that he's positioned himself on the far side of fifty assassins, putting as many warm bodies between you as possible without leaving the building entirely.

“So, you going to all come one at a time or are you going to make this interesting?”

“Brazen,” Kumoi muses. “I'm not incapable of appreciating that. But regardless, you must die. And you shall.”

With a snap of his fingers, the order is given. Ten of the assassins charge as a wedge between you and Yoruichi, turning away from each other and pushing forward to try and separate you. Ten more split up and turn your flanks, meaning that five assassins are on each side of you now and ten between you. The other thirty or so remain in reserve, preventing you from having an easy dash straight to that bastard Kumoi.

Seems like you'll need to thin the herd a little. The only question is how?

>Rush the assassins left in reserve. Yoruichi can handle twenty on her own.
>You're not surrounded, the 'wedge' of ten assassins in the middle is.
>Take the five that flanked you, get some room to maneuver.

“What don't we get?” Kumoi snorts derisively.

“That we're not stuck in here with you,” Yoruichi replies with a smirk literally audible in her voice. “You're in here with us~!”

Taking that as your cue you launch into action, two white and black blurs of shunpo and hirenkyaku, with the odd flash of steel as it passes through a neck. These assassins might be expensive, but they're certainly not fast enough to keep up with a Captain... even Komamura could run circles around these guys, and by your estimates he's one of the slowest Captains alive.

Soon the heads and bodies lie everywhere, all twenty assassins having been annihilated in mere moments.

“Fools!” Kumoi jeers, though his tone betrays a certain nervousness. “You'll have to do better than that!”

“Oh, but I have done better than that!” you retort, sheathing Tenkotsuki. “Prohibit...”

Instead of attacking... you snap your fingers. Once at first, then again, then many more times in rapid succession. Each time a kidō box quickly forms where you will it into existence, guided into being by Tenkotsuki's precision. Around a head here, an arm there, and so on. Kumoi watches in morbid curiosity and Yoruichi with smug satisfaction as you finally clap your hands, commanding the boxes to switch places with devastating effect.

Heads are attached at wrists. Lower arms protrude from knees. Shoulders end abruptly in feet. Bakkotō jut uselessly out of stomachs. Like a meat locker filled with the hobby-work of a psychopathic surgeon, and of course totally useless now.

“How about that?” you ask Kumoi as one of the assassins standing near him retches under his mask. “They may still be kept functional by those bakkotō of theirs, but it's hard to control a body when its nervous system is so jumbled.”

Kumoi laughs with a nervous start. “So much wasted energy... if you think you can frighten me into surrender you're mistaken!”

“It was easier than casting Haien twenty or forty times,” you correct him. “And that's too bad. If you had any brains you'd be scared.”

“So, how do you intend to follow that up?” Yoruichi asks, trying to ignore the flailing, disjointed corpses all around her.

“Well, that's easy,” you reply. “Let's see which of these assassins are good enough to even stop me!”

With a hirenkyaku you charge the remaining assassins, effortlessly sidestepping first one, then a second, weaving your way past a third with a kick to his knee, leaving you nearly a clear shot at Kumoi.

“Gotcha!” you shout, emerging from the crowd of assassins.

Suddenly, an assassin steps in front of you. His hair is light, with a kind of purple tone to it, and he has a jagged scar down the middle of his face. His speed is honestly enough to impress you.

“Entrap her,” he declares, twisting the hilt of his sword so that you see a glint off the guard... is that a mirror?

There's a reasonably deep gash in your side, and the assassin is standing behind you. Glancing down you see that the blood has soaked into your haori already, as if some time has passed...

So that's the trick. He messed with your sense of time.

“Precisely,” Tenkotsuki confirms.

That can be a troublesome power... but you may have ways to deal with it.

“Alright you bastard, you wanna live forever?” you challenge the assassin, drawing Kobara no Tachi. “Just you try that shit again.”

You watch as the assassin brings his weapon to bear, holding your zanpakuto out at your sides, and release your grip on each as you see his hilt begin to turn in hand...

… and when you come to, you see that your gambit has worked. The assassin's been caught in a Rikujōkōrō cast by Tenkotsuki, who stands at his left side with her hand outstretched. Meanwhile Rosa, pale and stern as ever, has slashed through his neck. The assassin's head is incinerated by Rosa's power, converting the reiatsu in the severed body part into a cero that erupts through the pores in a blinding flash.

The body however is still under the bakkotō's control, and your zanpakuto backpedal to join you at your side.

“I see,” Tenkotsuki muses.

“Troublesome,” Rosa scoffs. “Its body should have disintegrated.”

“His,” you correct.

“Ain't his body anymore,” Rosa reminds you.

“Complete annihilation?”

“Quite,” Tenkotsuki agrees.

Copy Hachigen and crush his body with barriers. It probably isn't smart enough to avoid them.

It's time to finish off this headless, nameless assassin in a single stroke.

Well, maybe not so much a single stroke, but rather more like a single concerted effort.

“Work with me!” you tell Rosa as you move to flank the assassin on each side.

Tenkotsuki outstretches her hands and summons a tube of sorts, made from transparent kidō, around your victim's living corpse. You join Rosa in generating a disk of dense reiatsu, then charge.

The two walls meet in the center of the tube, leaving the assasin and bakkotō no escape and slamming them from both sides with titanic force that sends you tumbling across the floor and crashing headfirst through a planter. The assassin is utterly destroyed, crushed into pieces and the pieces then vaporized.

Your two swords plant themselves point-first into the dirt next to you, their manifestations nowhere to be seen.

“That was fun,” Rosa admits in your mind before fading into the background of your mind, “but next time you call me please try and ensure it's something important.”

Yoruichi reaches down and helps you to your feet, and you retrieve your blades.

“So I took care of another dozen assassins while you were playing,” she informs you. “Leaves us seventeen, plus Kumo... that son of a bitch.”

“He's running, isn't he?” you ask, completely unsurprised.

“Looks that way,” Yoruichi sighs.

“Yoruichi, I'll clean up here,” you offer. “You go do what you do, get Kumoi into custody.”

“On it!” your wife replies cheerfully. “Try not to make too much of a mess.”

“Too late,” you shake your head, looking at all the carnage around you even as Yoruichi disappears after the Kasumiōji retainer.

Several of the assassins are so dismayed at what they've seen here that they look ready to throw down their weapons, but a few seem to be made of sterner stuff.

One slashes wildly at his neighbor. “Don't forget what we're doin' here, we surrender our lives fuckin' end!”

I don't really feel like genociding these dudes, do you?
I mean they're just dumb grunts, would you really feel good killing essentially helpless morons?

Here's an idea, what if once this is all over, we turn them into proper shinigami? Take them into 9th, beat some sense and pride into them.
Give them a new lease on life, a second chance. You know, that thing we do.

And those that refuse, well. We know how that song and dance goes.

“You're fighting a Captain,” you remind them, momentarily lowering your swords, “and the only way any of you can even keep in the fight is to let those things eat your souls. You keep it up and you're dead either way, and for what? How much is this asshole paying you that makes it worth this?”

“It's not about the money!” the loudmouth from before insists. “It's about our pride! You're askin' us to give up what makes us men! The only thing of any value we have!”

“Serving a feckless, self-absorbed retainer who abandoned you at the first sign of trouble makes you proud?” you ask before directing your attention to all the other assassins. “That's a pretty sad statement, don't you think? Not 'cause you picked the wrong patron, but because you have got one other thing even if what he says really is true... your lives.”

“I'm not gonna listen to any more of this crap!” the man shouts, charging you with his bakkotō held high only to find his arms sliced cleanly away at the wrists by Tenkotsuki's blade. Your fist meets his gut before the bakkotō has a chance to try anything with him.

“Ikkotsu!” you roar, the force of your punch compressing and shattering the assassin's body into unrecognizable fragments. No blood though, a curious side-effect of Ikkotsu and its cousin Sōkotsu, at least when properly performed.

“Nothing can stop me from killing you,” you tell the shocked assassins, “except my own decision to spare you. But for that to happen, you have to drop those swords.”

One bakkotō immediately clangs to the ground.

“Done,” its former wielder informs you, pulling down his facemask and putting his hands on top of his head.

“Smart man,” you nod approvingly. “You going to testify against Kumoi for me? I can probably argue for a reduced sentence if you do, seeing as you've technically not done anything illegal carrying those things.”

“Fuck 'im,” the man nods emphatically. “I'll testify.”

“You gonna back Rurichiyo, tell the Central 46 how she didn't know any of this was even happening?” you press.

He nods again. “Sure, no reason to drag her down with us.”

“And who else wants to take that deal?” you ask, raising your voice to the remaining assassins.

One by one, the bakkotō fall to the floor.

Can't help but notice that they are serving someone who has no qualms about ordering the death of a little girl just to cover up his own extra-legal scheming. I hope some degree of the absurdity of agonizing over pride in such circumstances has taken root in their minds.

Thanks for running, and a belated thank you for the arrancar omake. I enjoyed getting to see more of them, and I like your efforts at giving them some depth. I hope we get to see more before the quest ends.

All the arrancar seem better defined than in canon, Apacci especially has blossomed in a way that puts her canon version to shame. Did you have any plans to give some more development to the remaining Tres or Lillynette? I doubt you have the time to do everything you'd like, just curious if there is any plans for them.

Ahah, I have something that is both an omake idea and a question for Riku: Apologies in advance for what is going to stretch an innocent question into what will look very much like solo RP shitscribble.

Riku, you were once an illiterate denizen of a particularly poor part of the Rukongai. Now that you are the captain of the 9th and, to some degree, a steward and curator of culture for all of Soul society, have you given any thought of investing in enriching communities like the one you came from? Maybe setting up free schools, especially in the poorer sections? Some basic curriculum that would at least teach people how to read, maybe offer schooling in certain arts if there is an interest for it. Perhaps other subjects like poetry? Philosophy?

There would be plenty of advantages to doing so, not least of which would be a decrease in crime and an increase in quality and stability of life for the citizens, if living world statistics are any indicator at all of what to expect. I am sure you yourself can think of plenty of the possibilities this could enable.

Of course, the Central 46 would probably not like it at all for their assorted reasons. And they would be especially opposed if your name was attached to the idea specifically. I can't see them approving of you gaining any more fame and popularity than you already have. They probably fear your "cult of personality" within the Seiretei enough as is. Oh well, maybe make them think it was their idea or something.
>>
>>1702761
under the new dice system? yes. Under the old dice system however, it was a DC 9 which involved stopping the canon execution of Rukia by sprinting half-way across seireitei to execution hill and parrying the giant fire bird sword thing.
>>
>>1703597
>>1703590
Backing this idea. The thought of Hanataro getting so used to crazy shit like this happening that he can look at Riku's mess with a straight face while his subordinates get the shellshock is funny.
>>
>>1705041
>dozens of terrified shinigami forced to do cleanup
>Hanataro just directs them with a bored monotone, completely unfazed by another Riku happening
>goes back to the 9th, goes drinking with the Arrancar and Commandos
>takes him three hours and another round of philosophy talks with them to realize he's turned into one of the scary people
>>
>>1705041
>>1705179
This, it'd actually be a neat character development.
>>
>>1705179
I feel like this isnt that far off from his canon characterization. Hes not a fighter, and he still gets freaked out at fights, But I think when it comes to the aftermath hes pretty unfazed
>>
>>1705207
The crucial distinction (in my mind) is that he's increasingly less "this is horrifying everyone's dying what do I do whatdoIdoIdon'thavetrainingforthis" and increasingly more "how do I help". Same was true in canon I felt, which is a characterization I liked.
>>
>>1705242
It helps that His Zanpakutou. is actually pretty cool, assuming its the same as in the anime filler.I feel like with the right training he could be at least lieutenant material

>Hanataro's zampakuto being a surgical scalpel that closes up wounds and then fires them as reiatsu sword beams
Das pretty coo mang. Also fits with his occupation as a field medic. But why the surgical scalpel? aren't scalpels more fitting for the operating table?
>>
>>1705179
>Hanataro talks about one of his earlier deployments
>Like that time he talked to a "topless" Tia
>Or that one occasion where he had to clean up the mess of Riku's Kaizō Hadō: Yūgure Kasō
>scares his subordinates even more.

Think we could ask kaoru for some help in teaching the LT's how to kido? She may be better at practical teaching than us.
Also we should really, really, really tell her about the secret of the numbered kido system. I don't think we have, yet.
