Your name is William and you have very little idea about what is going on. You just finished having a long talk with Sophia, the strangely dressed and even stranger acting lady who you captured last night. You think it’s sometime around noon right now, so it’s not very late in the day but there’s been a lot going on.
Koko had you and Morrigan come help her talk to Sophia, which is where most of the day had gone. She’d told you about a large collection of various groups around the US which were going to rise up and cause a revolt of some kind after blowing up a thing called an “Inauguration”. You still aren’t even sure what the US is or an Inauguration but Koko and Morrigan seemed to and it wasn’t good.
Koko also just told you that she didn’t exist… and that neither did you. You look down at your hands to make sure that you’re still there and you seem to be. You give your arm a poke just to be sure and you’re as solid as ever. You are, so you’re a bit unsure of what Koko was talking about too.
Morrigan notices you looking and frowns a little.
“Will what are you doing?” she asks you, her attention diverting away from Koko for a moment.
>Poke Morrigan to see if she’s still real.

>Ask what Koko meant by you not existing.

Hello.

Glad to have all of you.
>>
Hey guide, will you be writing up everyone's reaction for when will told his story? I think that's the first time he ever told anyone.
>>
>>1716860
He's told bits and pieces before. His squad has enough of an idea that they don't need to hear more. It's just unpleasant for all.
>>
>>1716657

Morrigan seems confused as you take a few steps towards her, then even more confused when you reach out and poke her in the arm.
“Will what the…” she says to you.
“Koko said that we didn’t exist,” you say, “But we do.”
Morrigan looks like she’s about to say something grumpy but then just lets out a sigh and shakes her head.
“Only you Will,” she says before looking back at Koko.
“So we don’t exist…” says Morrigan to Koko, “Can you tell me who we don’t exist for?”
Koko gives you both one of her dry smiles.
“Only if Will promises to never ever tell anyone,” she says, looking back at Morrigan, “You already know better I think.”
Morrigan just nods, turning to look at you.
“I promise,” you say to both of them, looking back and forth between the two of them.
“Well then,” says Koko, going back to one of her fake smiles, “You’ll be happy to know we don’t exist for parties within the US government that will remain unnamed. Mostly because I don’t even know their names and I doubt that the organizations they told me they belonged to were the right ones.”
“We’re so far down the black ops hole that plausible deniability doesn’t even need to be a thing,” says Morrigan, “They truly don’t know you exist.”
Koko smirks one of her rare real smiles.
“Essentially,” she says, “Yet I trust ever last member of my team implicitly.”
>>
>>1716906

“Seems a risk bringing us on then,” says Morrigan, “Not that we’ve been anything but friends…”
“I trust you Morrigan,” says Koko, “I’ve read your file. The real one.”
Morrigan’s face blanches as that.
“What? How?” she says.
“Let’s just say that I did meet one or two people who authorized this mission that even you’d trust,” Koko says.
Morrigan’s face regains some color, going thoughtful.
“I… I see,” she says, “What about the rest of the team?”
“Nem’s official record is gone,” Koko says, “But we both know her well enough. She’s a mess but she’s your mess. She’d knife someone who would even dare try to hurt you without thinking.”
“Yeah,” says Morrigan, “Sounds like her.”
“We know about Cath and Mary as well,” says Koko, “Cath hates the very thought of these sort of people, Mary cares too much about all of you and wouldn’t tell a soul.”
Morrigan keeps nodding.
“Will here,” says Koko with a smile, “Will doesn’t have a record until he showed up at your door. I think we both know what he’d be willing to go through for you. He already has.”
You look back and forth between Koko and Morrigan, unsure of what you apparently would do. You just help out… right?
“Yeah,” Morrigan says as she looks at you, “Yeah he has.”
“As for Sarah and Bell…” Koko shrugs, “Sarah is a known quantity, she was on our side during the fighting. Bell… well she’s got a bit of a record too but no separatist leanings. I may not trust you quite as much as them,” she gestures to the rest of her squad, “but I don’t need to. I trust you enough to bring you in and that’s it.”
Morrigan nods.
“I get you,” she says, looking at Koko with new eyes.
“Great!” says Koko, immediately going back to the old her, “If there’s nothing else I think it’s about time for lunch yes?”
Morrigan looks at you.

“Nah, I think it’s time for lunch,” says Morrigan, “We can talk about things later.”
“Good,” says Koko, “I’m sure your friends are looking for you so I’ll have somebody lead you up.”
“I’m not going to get shot if I tell them about all of this am I?” Morrigan asks only half jokingly.
“No, it’s best they’re up to speed as well,” says Koko, “I expect you’ll do your usual stellar job of bringing them around if there are any questions.”
“Yeah, I’ll do that,” says Morrigan, “Come on Will, let’s go find people.”
You nod and then proceed to follow Morrigan and Lem out of the maze of tunnels below the hotel. The walk is quiet, Lem and Morrigan both having pulled out cigarettes to smoke and think while you walk behind them and occasionally wave smoke out of your face.
It only takes a few minutes for you to get out of the basement instead of down, Lem letting you out near the location that you entered.
“It’s good to have you on the team Morrigan,” Lem says as the walk ends, “God knows we need the help.”
“Thanks Lem,” says Morrigan, “Not sure we’re glad to be on it but with what we just heard… damn if I’d do anything else.”
Lem just smiles and shuts the door behind you as Morrigan leads you towards the dining room. You’re still a little bit confused on what’s going on but you grasp the essentials. Koko is part of a secret group and you’re going to stop some bad guys with her. That’s enough for you.
Luckily you find Cath, Nem and Mary eating lunch together down in the dining room. Slipping into a seat between Mary and Morrigan, you order food even as Nem and Cath are already eating.
“Where have you two been all morning?” asks Mary as she sips at her drink, having already finished a smaller meal.

Looks like we're admitting to being with Koko but secrets are still secret.

Writing.
>>
>>1717039

“We were with Koko,” you say, remembering that you’re not supposed to tell anyone about the secret stuff. At least you’re pretty sure you aren’t so you look over at Morrigan.
“With Koko?” Nem asks as she digs through her food, “What does the crazy one want with us now?”
“I’ll tell you all up in the room,” says Morrigan as your food arrives, “It’s not for public discussion.”
That gets Morrigan looks from everybody but they all just nod and don’t inquire about anymore specifics. The mood as you eat is a bit somber, given that the past couple of days have been more work than anything else. Still the silence means that you all eat relatively quickly and then head up together, everyone wanting to know what’s going on.
As you exit the elevator Morrigan tells Nem to get Sarah and Bellona and bring them back to your room. Nem darts off to the other rooms even as Morrigan leads you, Cath and Mary into your room. Morrigan takes a seat on the couch, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it. You take a seat on the bed, followed by Cath as Mary leans up against the wall.
Nem comes back with Bellona and a sleepy looking Sarah shortly, closing the door behind her. Bellona takes a seat by your side while Sarah takes the other chair in the room.
“Lock it,” says Morrigan as she takes her cigarette out of her mouth, “and stand there for me will ya? Don’t need anyone listening to this.”
Nem frowns but does as asked, leaning up against the door with her back.
“Smoke or drink if you want,” says Morrigan, “This is going to be a no bullshit talk and we might be here for a little.”
This gets more looks but Nem breaks into her bottle of brown liquid and Mary and Cath get some water.
“What’s up Morrigan?” asks Bellona finally, “This isn’t like you.”
“No it’s not but this isn’t like anything I’ve dealt with before,” she says, “So I want you all to listen up and realize I’m not pulling your leg, this is too serious for that.”
>>
>>1717218
Everyone nods and then Morrigan proceeds to tell everyone about what you did this morning, including a bit of your talk with Sophia. Reactions are mixed but universally angry or disgusted during that part. When Morrigan finishes she puts out her smoke, leaning forward and resting her elbows on her knees.
“I’m telling you the 100% unvarnished truth right now,” she says, “At least as far as I know it. We’re about to jump into a pile of black ops bullshit so deep we might not come out again, so if anyone wants to leave now’s your chance. Otherwise we’re going to keep doing things like normal except for an additional chance of us dying, it’s not going to get any easier from here on out.”
She looks around, judging the mood of the group which is…

It's Morrigan reading them. Unless we went with that plan to turn Will into a girl last thread.

Alright. Looks like there's a bit of perfectly natural nerves but overall it's pretty calm.
>>
>>1717223

Overall everyone appears relatively calm given what was just dropped on them. Even you know that’s it’s a BIG DEAL and all that but you aren’t positive you get everything. Still the rest of the group seems… ok at least.
Mary’s faced is scrunched up and she’s clearly thinking hard with the way her fingers are tapping against the floor. Nem had been drinking a lot at the door until about halfway through, then her foot started to tap against the door as Morrigan continued. You could also feel both Bellona and Cath tense up next to you. They also grabbed your hands, which you didn’t expect but didn’t mind either. You squeezed back when they squeezed on yours which seemed to calm them down some. Finally Sarah had sat upright, leaning closer to Morrigan to listen, biting on her thumb. Still nobody was actively upset and nobody got up to leave, which would have made you sad.
“Looks like you’re all staying,” says Morrigan as she fiddles with another cigarette but doesn’t light it.
“I’ll be the first to admit that I’m nervous,” says Sarah, “Hell some of what you said I’m sure hasn’t quite processed yet. That doesn’t matter though, this is exactly the sort of thing I started fighting against.” A short pause as she works through something. “Even… even if the shine has worn off this is still something worth fighting for.”
Morrigan nods, then turns to the rest of you.
“I get to fight bad guys, take their stuff and save the President,” says Nem, a smile coming onto her face, “Plus I get paid for it. Count me in.”
“I can’t leave you two alone by yourselves,” says Mary after Nem finishes talking, “So of course I’m coming along.”
Morrigan snorts, turning to you Bell and Cath.
“Cath?” she asks, “I know you aren’t much for talking but this is the time.”
“I’ll stay,” Cath says, her voice quiet as always but firm, “People like them made me like this. I’ll stop them.”
Morrigan nods, then looks at Bell.
“I’m in,” she says, “Like Cath said we don’t need more stories like mine. If this can stop even a couple it’d be worth it.”
“Will?” Morrigan says to you, “Are you in?”

“I’m in,” you say, “Everyone else is in.”

You pause, thinking about what everyone else has been saying. You think about everything that you’ve been through since you got to MMS. You think about everything that happened before that. How much you learned since then… how much you didn’t get to learn before that. How much you didn’t have before that… and how much you still don’t have. You don’t know how much you don’t have but you know its a lot. Morrigan and Mary still have so much to tell you and it’s rare a day goes by you don’t have something you wonder about. Even if things are pretty good for you now, you don’t want people to go through what you did. Especially the man with the gun. You shiver.

“There shouldn’t be anyone else like me either,” you say, feeling a bit sad.

You feel both Cath and Bellona immediately squeeze your hands, which does make you feel a little better. Morrigan seems to be a bit upset but it passes quickly.

“No, there should be,” Morrigan agrees, “There shouldn’t be anymore stories like ours. None of ours.”

There’s a general murmur of agreement from the room and then everybody appears to be settled on the matter.

Morrigan looks around at everyone, then nods.

“Alright, looks like we’re all in and decided. I don’t know what exactly Koko is going to have us doing but I’d bet that the first thing we’re doing is raiding Sophia’s base. Don’t know how many people that would be or if they’re well defended but it’s my best guess.”

“Any good news?” asks Nem in a joking manner.

“Koko says we can go pick out some gear and she’s paying us an additional $1000 for the trouble.”

“Shit, that’s pretty good,” says Nem.

You feel Bellona nod next to you.

“Yeah well I’m pretty sure it’s because she wants us alive to help her out. Not that I’m complaining either,” says Morrigan, putting her cigarette back into the pack and standing with a stretch. “I say we go bug her for our gear and then see what we need to do.”

Everyone stands up at that, Cath and Bellona finally letting go of your hands. It’s quite the parade as you head to the elevators, small amounts of chatter starting to fill the air as you finally make it to the ground floor, mostly about what everyone might get from Koko. It seems that the chance for high end gear, especially that which might keep you alive, is enough to brighten anyone’s spirits.

You manage to find Koko down near the same room where you originally tried out clothes.

“Ah, I see everyone is still here,” she says to you as you approach.

“Yeah we’re all here,” says Morrigan, “We decided we want to try out some gear. You said we’d get some free?”

“One piece each,” says Koko, “At least for now.”

“For now?” asks Morrigan.

“We’ll see how the next few missions go,” says Koko with a grin, “My troops need to be the best.”

“Well lets get started then,” says Morrigan.

The shopping expedition through Koko’s stash is quite interesting. You immediately gravitate towards more support items, including a new and improved medkit and a better rucksack to carry everything. For your free item you grab the same type of armor Koko gave you the other night, the best available.

Morrigan immediately goes for a new rifle, one which looks a little different than ones you’ve seen before but she seems fascinated by.

Cath goes with you and gets a new set of armor, Koko having both sets custom fit for even better protection.

Nem and Mary both go ahead and get new SMG’s, the sleek new weapons matching compactness with firepower and blistering firing rate.

Sarah manages to deal with Koko to get her rifle upgraded even more, the base weapon being of top quality but upgraded to be even better. She gets a new scope and added features that make it easier for her to shoot.

Bellona goes for a new LMG, the large weapon balanced and packing even more firepower than before. Additional purchases for everyone spend a lot of money, bringing everyone up from a mixed bag of quality to a relatively even setup aside from the special items that they bought.

Your name is William and you are currently sitting in a ditch in northern New York. You’re nearby to the location that Sophia gave you, which is a rather nice mansion in the middle of the country. Supposedly it contains most of the rest of her group, which Koko wants to take out.

Your entire squad as well as Koko’s is sitting in the ditch or another one nearby, making a full seventeen combatants. Between both of your squads a variety of roles are covered, several heavy gunners, snipers and breaching specialists. You surprisingly are the most trained in medicine, if simply through dogged persistence than thorough training.

Your mind wanders a little bit as you shift in the cold. Currently you were gathering intel on the place, with Lem and Sarah looking through their scopes while Nem, Valmet and Chiquita getting closer to the house to check things out.

You were on your own assignment, which was…
>You were double checking everyone’s gear.
>You were assisting in scouting.
>You were just waiting for the assault to start.
>Other?

Never forget the day that Tommy forgot to check his gun. The thing jammed and he got shot.

You were of course going around checking everyone’s gear one last time. You don’t have a lot to do, given that everyone was very thorough before you left but it’s still a good thing to do. Thankfully there’s been no major incidents with any of the new equipment and you were doing final rechecks on Bellona’s new LMG.

“Thanks Will,” she says to you as you hand it back to her. You nod in return as she loads and chambers her weapon. You turn and look up as the three scouts return together, breath fogging in the cold air. Koko gestures for you to gather around. You group up, unconcerned about roving patrols as you hadn’t seen any during the hours that you’d been there.

“Alright, what have we seen?” asks Koko.

“There’s only a few guards. Three on the front gate, one near the front door. Two doing a roving patrol inside the fence,” says Lem.

“There’s another one in the back,” says Nem, “Again by the back door.”

“They’re clearly not expecting guests,” says Koko, “I suppose they thought they were secure because nobody knew they were here.”

“Idiots,” says Morrigan, “No operational security at all.”

“Now now,” says Koko, “We had no idea they were here until Sophia spilled and it’s not unusual to have security out here. We could’ve walked on by.”

Morrigan snorts and shrugs.

“Any numbers on the inside?” Koko asks.

“I saw at least a dozen separate faces on the inside,” says Sarah, “Probably more. That’s a big house and even if it’s not packed to the gills they could have plenty more inside without us knowing.”

“There’s three floors on the outside,” says Koko, “So they have plenty of room.”

“Probably a basement,” says Lem, “Maybe more down than up depending on how paranoid they are.”

“Can never tell with these types,” says Nem, “Could be lots of inside fighting.”

“Messy,” says Valmet, “Close quarters will be bad even if we’re better.”

“Can’t help it,” says Chiquita with a shrug, “No other options.”

“We could blow them all up,” says Wiley.

“No, we need prisoners and intel,” says Koko, “So we do need to clear and secure the location.”

“Right then,” says Lem, “You want upstairs or downstairs?” He looks at Morrigan.

>Morrigan says you’ll take the upper three stories.
>Morrigan says you’ll go down, you don’t know if or how far it might go.
>Other.

“I suppose we’ll take the upstairs,” says Morrigan, gesturing upwards from the ground floor, “We can deal with three floors. You can have the unknown basement levels.”

“Alright,” says Lem, “Beers on you if there’s no basement.”

“If there’s no basement and we get all the upper story loot then sure,” says Morrigan with a laugh.

“Right, now that we’re all settled then,” says Koko, “If we could get going before we all freeze out here.”

“Do you want the guards alive Koko?” asks Lem, “Or can we take them out?”

“Do what you need to,” says Koko, “They’re unlikely to know much so they aren’t a priority.”

“Ok,” says Lem, gesturing for his team to gather up, “Morrigan, can you take the rear?”

Morrigan nods, gesturing for you all to gather up as well.

‘Alright,” she says, “Looks like we’re going through the rear and then up. Stairs are probably somewhere in the middle and we don’t know exactly how many or how well armed they are.”

“Do we shoot to kill or are we doing prisoners like Koko wants?” asks Mary.

“You heard her, we want intel but if they’re shooting at you then shoot them back,” says Morrigan.

“Shoot first, capture later,” says Nem, “Easy enough.”

“Remember to watch your corners, hopefully we don’t need to get split up,” she says, “Lets get a move on folks.”

With that you all gear up and head towards the manor house. It’s a bit of a hike to get around back without getting spotted but it’s not hard, just tedious. You eventually make it, getting in position in sight of the back gate. There’s nobody there and only one guard in the back.

“So… did we get a signal?” asks Nem.

“I ah….” says Morrigan, only to hear the sound of a sniper shot ring out from the front.

“I think that’s our go,” says Mary.

“Right,” says Morrigan, “Sarah if you would.”

Sarah just nods, taking aim at the now alert guard and then pulling her trigger.

He drops and Morrigan stands, rifle at the ready.

“Lets go,” she says.

More Jonah and Will interact when?

>Tfw the team send Jonah and Will to a silly 1v1 match with each represent their own group
>Bets all around...until the fighting match where the kids fight while smiling like a demon
>>
>>1725269
Why on earth would they have Jonah and Will fight? They know they're child soldiers that shit's just cruel.
>>
>>1728050
Friendly contest... Shit, staring contest is finee too
>>

But it would be funny.
>>
>>1728315
>Not a contest of who can build the biggest blanket fort and protect it.
>>
>>1728771
I feel like they would just team up in the end for maximum warmness efficiency.
>>
>>1728771
I figured they would have a baking contest. One would make pie and the other make cake. The team would be the judges for the superiority of their baked goods.
>>
>>1728833
I can see Will doing that.

>>1729013
But Will doesn't know how to cook...
>>
>>1729178
Exactly, and neither does Jonah
