Summary of the story http://pastebin.com/5vNphiNS
Twitter: https://twitter.com/Stark1st

Last time the battle with the No-Named Man and his armies raged. Your party was split and each faced severe challenges as they fought. Aki and Anna faced the No-Named Man in person, Victoria and Yuki fought with Azzrazzor and suffered a heavy loss. Taka and Rozallin took on Vipsania, a chimera leader while you settled things once and for all with Gurtag. You then headed to check on Yuki and Victoria after rescuing Ariel and Yaga but Yuki told you Victoria jumped on top of Azzrazzor and the only way to find her was to go where the Firebird was. Once you arrived you find the No-Named Man and Azzrazzor in the same location. With his staff placed on top of Victoria's burnt body, he declares his victory. Despite the clear loss in terms of ground forces.

With anger you yelled, “Stop it!” dropping Yuki you dash to the man aiming for his staff. You didn’t know why he placed his staff over Victoria but you didn’t like it, plus you knew that staff has some magical properties and you weren’t waiting to find out just what they were.

Good! Get angry girl!” The cloaked man yelled as he drew a sword from seemingly nowhere.

Your sword clashes with his. As he still stands over Victoria and the charred harpy. Damn, I guess you’ll have to put more effort into it. You swing viciously and although it appears wildly you are keeping a close eye on spotting chances to take out that damn staff. But despite your best efforts it never came. His attacks and yours clashed one after another each strike was matched by the other perfectly. No ground was lost or gained only a stalemate of equal forces.

The man laughs, “Good GOOD! Keep at it Girl! Get mad, let rage guide your hand! How else will you save your friends?!” His grip tightens on his staff and you briefly see him apply more pressure with it to the body underneath.

“Shut Uppp!”

You were pissed but you weren’t getting anywhere at the moment.

You could feel yourself getting angrier but you stopped for a second and thought, you were here to beat him, but saving your friends comes first. “Kagehana.”

A weak voice answered you, “Yea… Oneechan…”

Your shadow suffered heavy injuries but you hope she could do you one last favor for today, “I am going to distract him, in that time move Victoria and the harpy away from him. It will only take a second, please.”

“Okay, I’ll give it my best shot.”

With that, you decided to move faster than you had been to try and apply more pressure. Again he matched your moves but you were waiting for just the right moment, even if it was only a second. He came down with a hard overhead swing that was uncharacteristically heavy handed. Blocking it with one hand you aim the other at the staff and unleash a burst of water at his hand. Your attack caught him off guard as you feel his sword slip as the water blasted away his hand. The burst was so powerful it knocked him back and although he somehow managed to stay on his feet he had dropped the staff and was away from your friends.

Quickly, you yell, “Now!” to signal Kagehana who springs into action. Quickly, you jump in front of your shadow as she begins to move the two away from danger. You steady your blade and keep on guard as you wait for the man’s next move. He shakes his now exposed arm from the blow, it was oddly slender but still toned and bits of flesh were missing, his hand looked broken and his fingers twisted.

Despite this, he didn’t appear to be reeling in any sense of pain and instead laughed yet again. “Magnificent girl! Truly magnificent. To think you be this capable and force me back.” Dropping his sword he moves his free hand to his broken one and begins snapping the parts into the right place. Loud cracks and crunches resonated clear in your head. “What resoluteness you still endure in the face of defeat. I want you even more now.....

If not for who he was you would greatly appreciate the compliments.

You hear in your mind “Onee-chan we are back and Yuki is doing the best she can but I don’t know how much we can do like this.”

Well then girl, shall we continue this dance?” He moves his unbroken hand and draws forth ten knives from under his robe. Tossing them in the air and as they begin to fall they somehow stay motionless above him. One seems to dance in front of him back into his hand. “How much more can you show me girl” The knife in his hand begins to glow black and purple as he prepares for another round.

At this point, you're amazed at his seemingly unending bag of tricks.

"We got silver weapons and you lost the vampires support. Are you sure you want to keep going? Without having at least one of the orbs? Didn't you said you were about ready to get the Shadow Orb? Are you that confident in yourself? Even if is not me, you could still be destroyed here. Not to mention that Firebird of yours is probably way weaker that it was with the Sun Orb. You might have used dark magic to make her strong again but how long that's gonna last? That dragon took ages to become strong again without it, so if she pushes herself she might die from the effort alone and unlike the goblins she is one of your heavy hitters. Also it doesn't matter if you are some sort of undead or not, you still have an organic body. Do you really want to see if you can still keep going after I remove all the water from it? And Look around, does it look like your army is winning? Maybe if we didn't knew the trick to slay undead you might have a chance, but right now, why not retreat and come back stronger later?"

Hmmm, maybe he is blinded by your fight right now but you knew that he and his army was losing this battle. You think you may be able to convince him to leave.

And Look around, does it look like your army is winning? Maybe if we didn't knew the trick to slay undead you might have a chance, but right now, why not retreat and come back stronger later?"

The man sighs, “I had asked for a fight and yet you decide to bore me with words.” He turns his head back and forth gaze unto the battlefield. “You do have a point however. Perhaps it is better to fall back for now. I already have what I wanted, and this test has worked out nicely. The robed man then raises his broken hand, which is somehow starting to move once again, though only slightly. The staff on the ground next to you begins to shake and stand itself up.

He seems to be calling it back to himself. With his other hand he tossess the dark knife above himself where it joins its friends suspended in air.”You are strong girl, but you should learn to make less assumptions about the people you are fighting. For one, you are not the only one with power over the worlds waters.” Out of his open palm flew a flury of water projectiles at your direction along.

Are you kidding?! Who the hell was this guy and how does he know this much magic?”

There wasn’t too much time to think as the staff was slowly moving back to its master and the water would assault you. Using what you had left you blocked the water projectiles with your own and although safe his staff flew comfortably back to its masters hands.

The man then calls, “Azzrazzor!

The loyal bird ceases every action and jumps to her master’s side, “Yes master.” She gracefully bows before her lord.

We are leaving.” Having stated his intent he then quickly climbed on top of the beast’s back.

“Of course.”

Some harpies flew at the opportunity to attack a seemingly unaware Firebird and man but they were greeted by knives that darted through the air, slicing many of the unfortunate harpies in the throat. The knife imbued with dark magics had caused the harpy it struck to disintegrate in mid air. The air grew hot as Azzrazzor flapped her massive wings to begin her ascent from the ground.

Before leaving the man mused, Keep persevering girl. Grow stronger if you wish to save this miserable and forsaken place along with your doomed world. Though I suggest you hurry for I…” You see the man carefully pull an odd object from under his sleeve. It was small, round and glowed with the warmth of the sun. “... already have half of the pieces that I need.” With his statement, Azzrazzor begins to climb fiercely in the air threatening to incinerate any harpies who dare interfere with their escape. With their leader gone the demonic forces begin to quit the field and route heading for the north. Around you, victory shouts began to ring through the air as your forces cleaned up the last of the lingering forces from the mass route.

“You’re kidding...” There was no mistaking that object he held. It was the Sun Orb.

Although it was clear that this battle was at an end, your war with this mad man was still raging. The roars of victory grew quiet for you as you realize that this fight is far from over.

Working on the post but my some bullshit came up and I need to take care of it. Probably won't be back Monday since I have to go on an all day trip out of town which means I'll be back Tuesday starting around 6pm to make up for lost time, if only by a little.

I am really sorry guys and will finish this post in just a bit.

Inversely what was happening around you, you felt disheartened. Striking the ground with frustration, “Fuck, I never had a chance, right? Even if I ended having the upperhand he could have just burned me to ashes with that damn thing. I knew I should have destroyed it. But why was the Firebird using it instead of him? Whatever, I can deal with that tomorrow.”

You figure it was best to regroup, not to mention the serious damage that had been done to Victoria and the harpy that looked familiar to you. Yuki and Kagehana were injured, and the army was no doubt exhausted. Yeah it was probably best not to pursue, not to mention, going after him now that you know he has the orb would be suicidal.

You pull your up and shaked your frustration away out of your body as you walked over to check on Yuki and the others. Yuki’s hands were glowing a soft yellow as she diligently worked, sweat falling from her face as she worked.

“C’mon please…”

“How does it look?”

“Bad… i’ll need some time to work on both of them, not to mention- ahh” Yuki grabs her hand that felt some sort of magical feedback or lapse, shook the pain off, “damnit” and continued.

Kagehana, who was still in form next to her says, “Onee-chan, Yuki is running on half steam here, let her do what she can and try harder later.”

Although the battle was over Yuki did still look like she was under hyper stress and in that state, perhaps its best to wait. “Alright, stabalize what you can and get some rest Yuki.”

“But I!”

“No. You are going to rest.”

“But!”

You return her stressed look with a calm and stern stare

“Okay…”

Calming down Yuki returns to lighter work, using practical medical supplies and instruments to best help as she could. Soon you hear a voice call “You’re Okay!” and was then ran over by a large basilisk hugging you tightly, “We came when we say that man and Azzrazzor flew off… I’m so glad you're okay.” Aki’s grip on your body tightened as you were pretty sure she was crying tears of joy.

“Yup, just like I said. Also I’'m glad to see you are okay too Aki.” You give her a quick hug back.

“C’mon Aki get off the poor girl.” Anna strolled up next to you two, “Hey leader, everything go okay on your end?”

“Wel-”

“Me you ask?” she cuts you off, “Nothing much besides getting TWENTY-FIVE!” Anna gave clear emphasis on her high score with a haughty expression. “Let me guess the brute got something like Twenty right?”

You nor Yuki responded to Anna’s innocent call out but she noticed, “Hey guys what’s the matter?”

“Well…”

“?”

Anna walks over to Yuki and stops mid step and realizes that it was Victoria that Yuki is healing. Anna turns to you and yells, “Where is he!” Materializing a large sword into her hand she runs up to you, “Where is he, I’ll kill that bastard!”

“Anna calm down!” Aki begins to loosen her grip

“Shut up I’ll kill him! He went that way right?” Anna points in the northern distance where you indeed saw the man and Azzrazzor fly off.

Aki at this point has let you go so you can stand and deal talk normally. “Anna please just calm down, we can help Victoria it will be okay I promise. Going after him right now would be suicide by yourself. Let's regroup a bit okay?”

Anna glares at you intently but you meet hers with a stalwart stare. Gritting her teeth Anna raises her sword toward you… and throws it to the ground, “DAMNIT!” Anna falls to her knees and yells with frustration and a few tears begin to form in her eyes. Aki moves over to pat her on the back to try and console her the best she can.

“Onee-chan!” Came an energetic voice as Taka and Rozalin were bumbling their way toward you followed by a giant lion, snake, goat, dragon thing. Dear god, what the hell happened to them.

“Hey dear, everything go well on your end?” Rozalin giggled, “Ours was rather eventful…”

Gazing back over to the quiet Chimera behind the bicorn you note, “I.. can see that. What happened exactly”

“It's a bit of a story darling, but her name is Vipsania and is now working for us.” Rozalin turns and asks the Chimera behind her, “Isn’t that right?”

“Y-Yes mistress…” Vipsania barely muttered as she shyly looked down, unchararisticallly of the ¼ lion she had in her.

“Okayyy…. But you were all okay so that is what matters.”

Rozalin giggles at your simple deduction.

With your friends back together you were just happy to be all in one piece, though Victoria can’t be spoken for at the moment. You have Rozalin help care the two injured while the rest of you walked to the back of the forces and the original staging point. Hoping of finding the other leaders there.

The first person you found was Malena, casually sipping on a glass of freshly retrieved blood, “Well done darling.” She congratulated you as she was being weighed on by her vampire servants. “Truly a fantastic victory against that man for sure, he will think twice before marching an army again.”

“Yeah, thanks Malena for your help, without your help getting the vampires to leave I don’t know if we would have won.”

Malena puffs out her chest with pride, “But of course, I am Malena Ravanni, head of the Ravanni bloodline and household this much is nothing!”

Sei walked through a group of scorpion folk to you all, she looked slightly bruised but relatively okay, “Is everyone okay?”

“Yes, thanks to the harpies and their arrival.” Fey waltzes into the conversation answering the young queen's inquiry. Fey herself looked slightly bloodied but none the worse for wear.

“I’m glad that we could be of help…” Flew in the queen of harpies Kanon, in full royal battle regalia. She looked nearly uninjured though her elaborate and beautiful gear no doubt made by Wilhelm looked unquestionably sturdy.

Lucky you, it seems that the other leaders all had the same idea of an end of battle meeting, and although the first priority of sending the wounded to the infirmary you had much to discuss. Sending Yuki, Victoria and the burnt harpy to the infirmary with Ariel and Yaga you try to begin a small talk.

“Alright, now that everyone is here I have something important to say.” All eyes turn toward you. “I think we should discus-” You tried to finish your sentence but you suddenly felt a rush of dizziness hit your person. You fall to your knees and your senses dull. Your consciousness fades to black at yet another unfortunate time.

“Damnit!” You slam your hand against the sturdy wooden cafe table in your mind. Why does this always happen?! Is it some precondition that you have to fall asleep after a major encounter with an enemy or event? Is it a curse to randomly fall unconscious at various intervals? The only curse you remember was the accelerated aging and Kagehana, and if you were cursed again Kagehana would have to be the first to know and tell you. You sigh, “Shit… Guess we’ll have to wait until we are back at the castle.” For now thought this gave you buffer time to think about your next steps, or at least proposed next steps. You had no idea how the council would react. You thought out loud, “Recuperation time is going to be hard to manage.” You didn’t know how long it would take for your army to recover or how long it would take the No-Named Man to reach the shadowlands and the orb it held.

“Then perhaps we would be best to act swiftly,” A foreign yet familiar voice pierces through your mind and a small figure, dress in a red and black dress walks out of the shadows and behind the empty chair opposite of you. Eloquently the girl pulls the chair out and sits down in one fluid motion before addressing you again, “It’s been a while like since our last private talk darling. How do you feel?” Malena smiles as she awaits your response.

"Not very well. How come that guy can do the exact same magic that I can? Well save for telekinesis and probably a bunch of dark magic..."

>You then remember you had magic done in the two dolls that are connected to Malena. You wonder if it started to affect her?

"Also he wasn't using the Sun Orb before, he just had his firebird have it... probably because he can't resist the brainwashing for long. And the Sun Orb must not be the key for the Shadowlands or he would have gone already. I wonder what he got now that things changed? Maybe he has been brainwashing people as a way to find how to ein resistance to it? Shadow Demons are quite nasty. And I only had to deal with a baby. Did he find some artifact to resist shadow demons?"

>This is your mind, you are in control here. Fox ears grow on the top of your head snd four fox like tails sprout from yoir tailbone, you are now wearing a fancy kimono.

"I was wrong, he is not human anymore but some sort of undead. It makes sence, he is old, very old and doesn't seem to use time magic, so how could he keep himseft strong and not age? Do you like this look?"

>You walk away a few steps and show off your fancy kimono a bit.

"This is who I want to be, somewhat, I mean I am not strong enough or old enough to have nine tails. And yes I know you wanted a strong human hero. But I think and act more like a monster girl than human. If it makes you feel better I won't try to become a Kitsune until we finally deal with that man. But..."

"How? Get close and he harms your body with death magic, try distance attacks and he will use water magic and floating knifes. And he also has the Sun Orb. And who knows what else... the only idea I have is too keep damaging him until he runs out of magic but with the Sun Orb that's stupid. So we have to get the Shadow Orb before he does. Unless that's his plan... maybe he wants us to steal it for him."

"Not very well. How come that guy can do the exact same magic that I can? Well save for telekinesis and probably a bunch of dark magic..."

“Hard to say Darling, he appears a master of many magics and skills,” She pauses, “Why I wouldn’t be suprised if he knew other elemental attacks as well, maybe even time. He commanded each power with skill which may take years, or decades to master and unless he is ancient or immortal a mastery of time would be the only logical explination.”

“But Auriel is the only time wizard we have ever met or known…”

“Meaning Auriel is the only person you can ask about this, he is old himself, perhaps he had an apprentice once in his long life, or perhaps a colleague.” Malena waves her hand infront of herself, “At any rate it is only speculation and we should not yet waste too much of our time on speculation.”

You then remember you had magic done in the two dolls that are connected to Malena. You wonder if it started to affect her? The doll was bleeding when last you remember but once it was with Malena the blood oddly halted, just how was it connected to her in the first place, why was it bleeding. These are questions you still have, but at the moment, it doesn’t seem to be affecting the vampire lord and it wasn’t apart of the pressing matters at hand. You quickly shake your head of your thoughts and refocus,

“You know the dangers of the orb darling, it killed your little kitsune and perhaps he does not wish to use it or else cause the same disaster as you mention. Though we should be careful, for whatever reason he is keeping it to himself and not Azzrazzor the one who could make the most use of it. It’s one half of the key but maybe he requires both to use it. That being said, The Shadowlands are a dangerous place, cloaked in pure darkness, unpierceable by even standard magics. How he has managed to take from the shadowlands I do not know. If your little shadow demon is as you hypothesize from that realm then he has some form of basic resistance. I am just as a loss it seems.”

You walk to Malena and give her a hug.

“Darling? Are you upset about the battle, we did win you know.”

"He... he almost turned one of my friends into undead... and the ghost or zombie type."

“Ahh, the unconscious rambunctious one bothers you then. Darling, I understand your fears of loss, perhaps to a great extent, but you did succeed did you not? Your friend is not a ghost nor a zombie as of now. I think you can take solace in that.” She returns a warm hug, “You did a good job Darling.” she whispers as she pats you softly on the back.

After a few moments you end the hug, feeling albeit a little better, but Melena’s expression told you she was not done, and what she was about to say was serious. “I Know we have discussed this before, and I know your situation but you need to prepare for the worst. You kept your cool during your battle despite his attempts to play mind games, but what if he had turned your friend into such a creature, one under his command and given the order to kill you?” After pausing she says, “What if your closest friends became your foes?”

"I... I would be forced to destroy them. He wouldn't give me the chance to just... to just disable them. That's why I was so desperate to get him away from Victoria. I knew that if he turned her into an undead that was it. He blows up the heads of his minions if they even think to betray him. Either I would have killed her or he would have when she resisted. He wants to crush me, to make me fall into despair... and I have no idea how to counter that. Is different if one of my friends just decided to part ways on her own but like this... being a mere puppet... I think that killing them would be preferable if I can't save them. Do you know what he plans to do with those kids? He will make them fight us, to crush me and the others spirit. Yes I was stupid, maybe they were safer in the castle but with you gone and the vampires being angry with me... I am just thirdteen ya know? You can change how I look with magic but I just don't have the life experience. Maybe... maybe that's why I am so eager to become a monster girl... then perhaps I would care less. I already distract myseft with sex a lot... but the pressure keeps increasing..."

>You pat Malena head.

"In a way I envy you, you can just be so cruel and evil without guilt, while I keep avoiding the Sirens because I helped with a genocide. Do you know why I went to the land of Wa? Because I freaked out and I wanted to get as far from the cursed lands as I could. And then... I just didn't want my friends to die in a war I didn't care about so... I left. If Adrian and certain demon girl had not been at risk, I wouldn't have cared about that war at all. But those kids? My friends? I am reponsible. If I didn't give a damn it would be way easier don't you think. But if I was like that I would just be like that man, and he really doesn't have anyone. All he has is brainwashed slaves or people who follow him out of fear and convenience."

>You then think of something.

"You must be quite lonely, aren't you Malena? All you had was scared kids and servants. And in the end, it was the one who killed you who brought you back. Is it worth it? To be on power? I keep rejecting positions of power because... because they would be terrible. What the hell I am doing leading armies? I am just a teen!"

>You then stop and glare at Malena.

"I love and hate you, ya know? You destroyed the lives of many kids but a part of me still sees you as a little girl I could not save. I could have done terrible things to you when you were weak after being just revived, but I didn't. Do you know why?"

>You then pat Malena head.

"Because I might act like a Monster Girl but to me you are my little sister. You can deny it all you want but deep down you want that. Being in charge sucks doesn't it? You want me to take care of you, to play with Taka, to be spoiled. The heart wants what the heart wants and if anyone gets angry because I brought you back, I do not care."

My friends? I am responsible. If I didn't give a damn it would be way easier don't you think. But if I was like that I would just be like that man, and he really doesn't have anyone. All he has is brainwashed slaves or people who follow him out of fear and convenience."

“That is acceptable darling, you must be ready for the worse and be willing to do what is necessary. He clearly does not let anything stop him, and you would be wise to be ever aware of his attempts to mess with your mental state. He seems almost obsessed with it. Just as he is with his crazy goal of colliding the planes into one.”

“Well, I understand that Darling but-”
>>
>>1732333

You then stop and glare at Malena.

"I love and hate you, ya know? You destroyed the lives of many kids but a part of me still sees you as a little girl I could not save. I could have done terrible things to you when you were weak after being just revived, but I didn't. Do you know why?"

“W-Well I imagine it is-”

You then pat Malena's head.

"Because I might act like a Monster Girl but to me, you are my little sister. You can deny it all you want but deep down you want that. Being in charge sucks, doesn't it? You want me to take care of you, to play with Taka, to be spoiled. The heart wants what the heart wants and if anyone gets angry because I brought you back, I do not care."

“W-W-W-Well I would have to say tha-”

This is your mind, you are in control here. Fox's ears grow on the top of your head and four fox like tails sprout from your tailbone, you are now wearing a fancy kimono.

In between your playful ideas you manage to muse on the situation."I was wrong, he is not human anymore but some sort of undead. It makes sense, he is old, very old and doesn't seem to use time magic, so how could he keep himself strong and not age? Do you like this look?" Or at least try to.

You then wink at Melena "So, do you think I am sexy like this?"

In a low soft voice“Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh….” Malena seems slumped into her chair and unable to respond to your inquiries.

“Uhh, Malena?”

“Ahhhhh.”

You seem to have broken her and she is so far incapable of anything than this odd noise. Hey just maybe… You imagine in your head a glass of wine in front of your visitor and after a moment the noise ceases and the vampire's hand latches onto the drink and chugs.

Breathing heavily and wiping away the excess from her mouth she responds, “Dear me Darling, I know you were a talker but your mind is working at 100 miles a minute. Give me a moment would you…” Malena seems to be going through some breathing exercises as you wait patiently.

Calming down Malena clears her throat before beginning, “Darling, your persistence on your ideas of wanting to be a monster is a personal choice at this point. I had originally taken you to make a human stronger one who could not only protect this realm but lead the human one away from inevitable disaster. You clearly have expressed your disinterest in returning so I won’t bother arguing with you and instead focus on the task at hand.”

“I will also have it be known that although you know of my past and some lingering feelings does not define me as a person, did the freshly plucked you from the mortal realm represent your current self? Of course not and your presumptions are slowly becoming intolerable. I have dealt with your persistent demands for domineering enough and I will ignore any more rattlings of the matter.” Crossing her arms the vampire lord sighs, “The look is fine I guess, fitting for a trickster like you I suppose. Though none of that matters at the moment. What matters is what is happening to threaten BILLIONS of lives and I had come here to talk like we used to.”

Malena sighs, “Nevertheless you should be waking up shortly in your bed, we’ll talk in person during the meeting.”

“WAIT!

Your mind flashes from black to white and back to black. However, you feel strength come to your physical body and you soon open your eyes. You find that you are in your chambers back at the Ravanni castle with many of your friends asleep at your side. Surely they were to wake up and realize you're safety and then you would get swept into a series of non-stop questions and answers. But your talks with Malena have left you wanting and still unclear on your situation.

The first thing you should do is

>Talk with the council
>Talk with Auriel
>Talk with Yaga
>Go back to bed and sulk for the day
>>

>You need to know what happened, how he beat her and got the Sun Orb.

You went over the course of action you should take but as you were sitting in thought Yuki appears to have waken up.

She yelled, “You’re awake!” and grabbed you for a tight hug.

“T-Thanks Yuki good to see you too.

As if on cue your friends awaken one by one, though it is no doubt caused by Yuki’s spontaneou shouting. As they wake up they check to make sure you were okay and you assure them that you were alright, all things considered. The only one who didn’t ask you was Aki who seemed to be still asleep in an upright position. Impressive for sure, but you weren’t entirely surprised, the basilisks sleeping habits were legendary. But there was someone else missing from the group.

“Where is Anna?”

Your friends grow quiet to your question. The stiffens as the question lingers, but Yuki begins to explain in a low voice, “She is… with Victoria in the infirmary, but it’s….” Yuki pauses and looks down at her hands before continuing, “difficult to explain… here at least. When you have time come down to the impromptu infirmary downstairs and we’ll explain as best we can. It’s something that you need to see in person to fully grasp.”

“O-Ok.” The air when from upbeat to chilled and the ominous details coming from Yuki has you deeply concerned. However… You throw yourself out of bed and begin to limber up for the day. You needed to get up and moving, doing so will prevent you from dwelling on your concern and convulse you to action.

Yuki expressess her concern, “Are you sure you want to do that? Don’t you think you should rest for a bit, you have been asleep for at least a day.”

“That’s okay, we have a lot to do. I’ll meet up with you after I talk with Yaga.” You were ready to head out when you realized, “Wait… Yaga is in the infirmary as well right?”

“Surprisingly no, the doctors and guards say she likes to sit outside the castle on a bench looking across the bridge.”

A resiliently old witch for sure, “Alright, I will see you all soon.”

Heading out the door you find the castle to be even fuller than it was previously. The vampire attendants were once again back, and it seems many of the soldiers from the battle have taken up residence, not not nearby residence. While walking for the main gate a vampire guard stops you, “The mistress says you should head to the council room immediately for deliberation.”

“Yeah, yeah. I will, but first I need to find some important info for that meeting. Tell her that I’ll be there after I learn all of the facts.”

The guardsman nods and lets you pass by. Outside you found a quaint bench with a rather large umbrella atop it to keep out the rays of the light from the sun. Sitting at the bench was an old witch, bandaged and robbed whilst holding a walking cane as she gazed across the bridge on the relatively hot day in the astral plane.

“Yaga, it is good to see you are up and moving,.”

The old witch grimicases, “Yes, young one. I just wish the same could be said for my chickens at home. Poor birds didn’t deserve to be killed and eaten by demons.”

Thinking about it, they were her only constant company for Yaga. Before you she mentioned she hadn’t seen someone in almost 500 years! It may not be too hard to say that she was mourning the loss of several good friends.

Still, you needed to ask the question, “Yaga, I am sorry to ask you so soon but what happened between you and the No-Named Man, and how did he get the Sun Orb?”
>>
>>1732651

“It was quite an unfortunate day.” Yaga sighs as she begins to recount the day, “The No-Named Man came to my hut. He asked politely to chat and having infrequent visitors I accepted, though he did not much like the idea of coming into my home. I, of course, knew of him and figured it would be an opportunity to meet with a powerful force, maybe even convince him to help you against the coming calamity. He was rather well mannered, asking me how I was and engaging in general light conversation. He had quite a way with words, making this old woman laughing quite a bit hoho.” Yaga focuses her gaze, “But he soon got to his point of his trip. He asked about the Sun Orb, and I was surprised, I had not told anyone that you had given me the orb and was still in the process of finding the right rituals to destroy the artifact. He seemed adamant that he knew I was hiding it from him. Caught off guard I asked him why he was so interested in the Orb to which he explained its need to create a brighter future for all civilization and to progress all societies from all worlds into the future. Despite his ideal, I did not like his idea of implementation and told him that if I did have the orb I would not give it to him. He then explained calmly that if I didn’t give him the orb as he asked he would take it by force. I prepared myself for battle, though I had not been in combat for hundreds of years… He used all manner of attacks, telekinesis, water magics, materialization, fireballs, and flames spout from his hands. Though his most used were definitely death magics, highly advanced death magics. Using some ancient wards and disabling spells I was able to contend with him for a while, but oddly….” She pauses and puts her hand to her face in thought, “I don’t know if I am remembering this correctly but he seemed to start moving faster, it was slow but then he began to almost hyper accelerate. Unable to keep up I eventually lost. He must have knocked me unconscious and rummaged through my home for the Orb. It too was under protective wards but evidently, they weren’t enough to stop him. The next thing I remember faintly was the battlefield, though I don’t really see anything clearly until today…”

Yaga pauses, looks to you and smiles, “Sorry young one, that was quite a lot of ravings from this old woman hoho, but I hope you can understand now what happened. As best that I can remember anyway.”

“I would young one, but I do not have my true staff with me.” She raises her cane in her hands, “This was made for me by your young friend to help with walking at the least. Alas, many of my magical herbs, tomes, and items were in that hut and I was taken with next to nothing. Sorry.”

Damn, guess if you want it you’ll have to go back there and check, though at least she is okay with letting you have it.

“That is unfortunate…” You sigh before becoming upbeat, “Thank you Yaga, your story will no doubt be of great assistance in estimating him. I am sorry for the unfortunate circumstances though regarding your hut and hope you get better soon.”

“Thank you young one, and I’m sure by this time next year I’ll rebuild my hut and have a new farm of chickens to attend to, though you and your friends are always welcome to come and volunteer to assist, hoho.”

Getting up from your seat you smile as you take your leave, “Haha, we’ll have to see about that.” You stop for a second and yell back a question you almost forgot to ask, “Where is Auriel?”

“The infirmary, though I hear he demanded a desk next to his bed to work with. It seems”

Sounds like him, “Thanks!” You wave and walk back into the castle and as you were about to make your way for the infirmary a guard stands in your way, the same guard who told you that you should head to the council room soon. Seeing him here so fast means only that-

“You are requested at the council room.”

“I told you I needed to take care of-”

He cuts you off, “Things are getting out of hand. Kannon is making demands of the alliance and isn’t calming down.”

“I’m sorry but I just can’t go, at least in person. I have a friend who is quite adept at defusing situations.”

“Really? But you would be the best one to go.”

Waving your hand in front of the guard you soothe his worries, “Don’t worry, I know first hand her capabilities. Her name is Rozalin a bicorn you will find her likely near my quarters, or in the main lounging area.”

“If you are sure she will assist.”

“Positive.”

The guard nods, “Very well.”

Once out of sight you call your shadow, “Kagehana.”

“Onee-chan?”

“I hope you are feeling better, I need you to go to the council room with Rozalin and keep an eye on things.”

“You don’t trust her in keeping the members distracted?”

“Hardly.” You know yourself that the bicorn has quite the charm to her. She should I just want to remain informed at all times.”

“Alright, Onee-chan.” Your shadow twists and worms through the room and out a nearby door.

Good, now you can focus on Auriel in the infirmary. Finding your way rather easily with the help of other recovering members of the alliance you find that a large parlor had been renovated into a makeshift infirmary. The first person you see darting in between the various beds of the would-be-hospital was Yuki. Carrying bundles of bandages and tap she dashes from resting to resting. The groans that filled the room cut your focus back to Auriel and although you wanted to say hello to Yuki she seemed mired in important work.

It wasn’t hard to find the old wizard, bandaged and bruised as he was he still, as Yaga described, was busy looking over notes on a table he clearly has taken over with runes and inscriptions on papers scattered about. He seemed to be working with vigor, almost enough to make you feel sorry for interrupting him. Almost.

“Auriel.”

The old wizard shakes himself to attention at your call, “Ahh, yes… young one… One moment… ” He shuffles around his papers into a hasty pile. “You no doubt wish to discuss matters, and I admit I am far more comfortable here.”

“Yes, Tell me what you can about the No-Named Man and how you were captured, please.”

“Yes… though it may be someone difficult given the outcome of that tussle…” Auriel scratches his gray beard as he goes over the events in his mind, “I was tending to Yaga when nearly right after you called me I heard an odd knocking at the door to the hut. I was worried, had the attacker returned. I hadn’t prepared for much of a fight, but I was wary nonetheless. Preparing a defensive spell I answered the door and came face to face with the no-named man. Well, face to hood more like. His first words were, ‘ohh so you were sent here?’ I was surprised, taken back, I remember asking him what he meant and that it wasn’t important. What was important according to him was my cooperation. You heard his plan did you not?”

You nod.

“I could not agree to that. I may appreciate searching the ruins and histories of forgotten times and peoples, but I do not want to wipe out whole civilizations. He tried to convince me, tempting me with the incredible research opportunities, but I was resolute. He sighed and mention how he knew that I would be difficult. Moving at near instant speed he knocked me off my feet with a strike of his staff. Thankfully I set the magic's in place beforehand and froze him in time after he struck. I got up to gather myself before dealing with him and miraculously, astoundingly I began to saw him move, slowly, but it hastened faster and faster until he was once again at normal speed. It was baffling, the spell I prepared would take at least half a day to wear off, not mere seconds. He laughed at my attempt and claimed that I would never defeat him like that. Readying myself I prepare some minor elemental spells should time not work though his speed astounded me, dodging my attacks he appeared behind me, he claimed that my use of time was limited therefore flawed. Before reacting I found myself frozen. Frozen yet aware. I was channeling my magics to weaken his hold on me but as I was making progress he hit me in the cranium.” The old mage sighs, “After that, I cannot know, my next memory is you on the battlefield.”

"So that's why he became undead... to avoid dying for abuse of time magic. Don't worry, he is not that much better that you. He probably abuses the fact that as both as a necromancer and undead, time magic won't kill him. He even learned water magic to avoid someone just taking away all the water from his body. Basically my theory is that if anyone not undead or inmortal used time magic like he does, they would age way too fast and die. Do you know a way to prevent the use of time magic? Basically my theory is that if anyone not undead or immortal used time magic like he does, they would age way too fast and die. Do you know a way to prevent the use of time magic?

“It is hard to say whether he is undead or not without a comprehensive look of him. Though I must admit I too am leaning in the direction myself. Time magic itself is highly intensive as you say and to perform it safely I spend days, maybe weeks preparing large scale spells otherwise it could not only harm the body of the user but also the timeline. But a way to prevent said magics?” He scratches his beard, “A counter perhaps, or a silencing area? Maybe? Runes….” He grabs at his stash of papers wincing slightly in pain as reads through the stack. “Get back to me on that thought young one, I have to do tests, a great many of tests….”

“No problem, thanks for looking into it. Oh and...do you have another one of those potions that turn monster girls to humans for a few hours? I need to solve things with a vampire once and for all after the council meeting. Or just use it on Aki... oh and you and Yaga should check over that chimera in case we that man has hidden some nasty magics in her body. It would just be his style.

“Hmmm,” He seemed buried once again in his notes but responds, “Unfortunately I did not think to take any vials of the potion you are refering too with me to Yaga’s home. I did not see how it could have been a use at such a time, sorry young one. I could make one though I lack the materials and it may prove far too involved in this environment surrounding the castle.

That is unfortunate, but I suppose it is understandable.

“As for the chimera I too am concerned, though she seems well managed for now, following Rozalin around, but we will see to her when we can. That I assure you.”

“Thank you Auriel. And I am sorry that I left you there…” All this time you felt guilty for maybe leaving both Yaga and Auriel at the mercy of the dark master of the accursed lands. "I honestly thought the Yaga you found was fake or a shape changer... "

“Ohh that is alright young one, after all, I am still put together aren’t I? And you were concerned yet your hand was tied. Though I just hope we can solve this situation. Now I must get back to my research.” The wizard then buries himself in papers and lifts his pen fly writing notes at a furious pace.

“Onee-chan” you geta message from your shadow sister, “Rozalin seems to be keeping them at least distracted, though Kanon seems mad about the lack of manpower keeping watch over her village after all she did for the battle, though from what I can tell there is more to it than that.”

“Alright, keep watching, thanks.”

You were in the infirmary, and you did want to check on Victoria. All you had to do was ask Yuki or look a little harder and then… no. According to Kagehana things are escalating and you put off the council members long enough. Victoria would have to wait. Closing your eyes you give yourself the strength to head down and face the music, and perhaps avoid a fight, bloody or otherwise.

You make a B-line for the council meeting room and upon entering you notice that Kannon was yelling at your Bicorn friend.

“You have no right to speak that way!”

Rozalin puffs, “As representative, I, in fact, do, though I feel that you should calm down dear.”

“Calm down?! You have your village assaulted, loose countless soldiers to a single enemy and get dragged down here with no real protection near my home!”

Kannon’s fury seemed to be on full display as her volume and tempered flared wildly. Calmly you walk to Rozalin’s side.

Sei remarks, “Ahh you’re here good then we can address the situation in the north.”

Kannon’s eyes dart to you in a glare. You ask Rozalin, “What did you say to her.”

“Hmph, barely anything, she was going off when I got here. I just focused on keeping her talking… which, may have made it worse admittedly… Still, she has yet to do anything rash.”

“Hmm,” Sitting down you look toward Kannon, the harpy queen, flanked by two royal guards as her talons seem to be gripping the table in front of her as an outlet for her anger.

“Ladies, please…” you try to address everyone to at least passively draw the heat off Kannon. “First of all I am glad that you each are alright.”

Kannon Scoffs, “Speak for yourself…”

“... We should discuss what to do now that we have won the battle. Queen Kannon, you had a concern?” It was obvious to all in the room, but for appearance's sake, you figured asking in such an official way may help the situation.

“We can start by you making up to me leaving my village defenseless and the tremendous losses we face on the battlefield. Not to mention the guards that never came…”

Azura interrupts, “They were redirected to the battlefield! Surely you could understand the situation!”

“And why aren’t they there now then?!”

“Because recovery in this location is far more reasonable for the army. We suffered losses too. This castle is simply the safest base of operations.”

“And my village will continue to not be due to the lack of assistance. Not to mention Wilhelm has been working himself ragged with your demand for silver weapons which exhausted our resources. I demand compensation!”

Kannon’s talon balls up and slams on the table as a dull bang sounds through the room. Her seething was clear and her demands more so. Still, this amount of rage is very uncharacteristic for Kannon. The usually, at times, spacy queen has never portrayed her frustration in such a way before.

"I understand that lately I have asked many things from you. This castle doesn't need the harpies to guard it. You can move any of your troops back to your village as you want. Also, we can stop the production of silver weapons as we have enough for now."

>You then stand up and walk to Kannon, moving your hips in a sensual way.

"May we take this discussion somewhere else? I am sure there are things that are better said in private."

Is quite evident for everyone you are trying to seduce her, but with her getting most of what she wanted and the argument finally going somewhere you don't think anyone will stop you.

"Of course, you might want to order your people what to do first, our talk could last a while." You gently caress the harpy queen back. "So, order most of your harpies back home and tell Wilhelm he can rest. Then we can have our talk."
