Welcome to Star Wars: Jedi Knight Quest. I died for like two months but am back to finish what we started.

It is a dark era for the Jedi Order. The Sith Empire’s relentless assault obliterated the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and slaughtered many of the Republic's brave defenders during the last war. The surviving Jedi have withdrawn to their ancient homeworld of Tython, where they take advantage of a fragile peace to train a new generation of guardians for the galaxy and investigate their ancient origins. Desperate for numbers to swell their dwindling ranks, the Jedi have begun accepting older Apprentices to train in the ways of the Force.

You are Paxious Dromus. Once a simple Zabrak farmboy from a backwater world near Iridonia, you have impressed your masters time and again with your command of the Force. You’ve sparred with masters, beaten Flesh Raiders, uncovered Jedi Shadows, and studied the mysteries of the Force and the history of the Jedi.

Now, you have almost completed your final test to becoming a Padawan.

Jedi Knight Quest 16

“You...you what?” Lu asks, dumbfounded.

“I robbed a dark Jedi’s grave,” Ara states.

Lu chuckles. Then he laughs a bit more. Then he falls on his back in the jungle brush and cackles, gripping his stomach.

Nazz looks on with concern, “Lu...are you…”

“Oh, hahehahhheghah, I’m fine, heehehaaaahhehaghehe…” Lu gasps, “I just...I bet I can guess exactly what happened.”

Ara gives Lu a dirty look and says nothing.

“Okay, so you scaled the underground pyramid thing, right?” Lu starts, “And you get to the top and there’s an opening of some sort you drop down into. Inside is a mummified corpse holding that purple fucking crystal. You grab it, its eyes glow, the cave collapses. Am I right?”

Ara says nothing.

“Am I right?!” Lu repeats.

Ara finally takes a deep breath and says, “You’re not wrong, Lu, you’re just an asshole.”

“And that wasn’t all of it either,” Ara continues. “There were three crystals in the pyramid.”

“Really?” Jorraan interjects, “Are you going to have three lightsabers?”

“Jorraan, how would I even wield three lightsabers?” Ara asks.

“You could hold one in your mouth!” Jorraan says confidently.

Ara stifles a chuckle at Jorraan and continues, “Well, all three of the crystals were calling out to me. One was blue, I think, and the other was red. The red was calling out the loudest, like it was in pain and asking someone to help it or something. They were both on altars on opposite sides of the room. Then in the middle of the room, there was this mummified corpse holding clutching this crystal to its chest. It barely called out to me at all, but I somehow still felt drawn to it. When I walked toward it though, the red crystal seemed to draw me in like a magnet and as I was trying to get away from it, I nearly fell into the blue crystal. That kept happening until I reached the purple and touched it. As soon as i did that, the red and blue ones shattered and the mummy’s eyes glowed and everything started shaking.”

You all stop and consider what Ara experienced.

What will you do?

>Take a break. Tell everyone what happened to you in the cave
>That’s enough rest. Let’s start the second trial and get to the Forge.
>What did that writing say again? “In the Center we struggle.”?

Hearing Ara’s experience mirrors your own, you find yourself deep in thought. You and Ara seemed to have to choose between dark and light and both of you chose a more difficult middle-ground.

You mutter to yourself, “In the center, we struggle…”

“What was that?” Lu asks you.

“Hm? Oh, nothing. Just thinking out loud,” you respond.

“No,” Lu looks at you seriously, “What was that you just said?”

You look to Lu, a little confused, “In the center, we struggle?”

“Where did you hear that from? Did my sister tell you it?” Lu asks.

“No,” you say, “It was written on the walls in the cave.”

Lu looks deeper in thought than you just were.

“Hey,” Ara interrupts, “That phrase was written in old Jedi tongue, right? There was some of that writing in the Dark Jedi’s grave too. Could it have said the same thing?”

You grab a nearby stick and draw the ruins into the dirt.

“Yeah,” Ara confirms, “That writing glowed along with the mummy’s eyes before the cave collapsed.”

“That’s a family motto,” Lu says, “It goes back thousands of years, to the destruction of the Miraluka homeworld.”

You, Lu, and Ara look between one another, wondering how this connects all of you.

And that’s when you hear a roar from the jungle.

What will you do?

Don't we still have a limp or did that get fixed?
>>
>>1751280
You do have a limp. It shouldn't be a problem unless you have to suddenly run a lot.

And why would you have to suddenly run a lot? I definitely don't know. Nope.

You put a finger to your mouth and motion everyone to stay quiet. Ara puts a hand over Jorraan’s mouth and you put a hand over Nazz’s mouth.

You take out your practice saber and ready yourself for whatever comes, deciding to reach out with the Force and see if you can sense what’s coming.

Yeah I can see what you are supposed to roll, that doesn't mean that is the only important thing. There was a quest that had you roll 3d10 and then it took two sets of rolls passing rather than one set of rolls passing. I.E. 1, 7, 7 and 3, 9, 8 on a DC 7 is what was required to pass and if you only had one of those sets and both the others were under you'd fail.

Shit I'm not blind, it's just been like, fucking months since I've seen one of these threads.
>>

Stretching out with the Force, you making out what appears to be a group of flesh raiders hunting something. It doesn’t seem to be you, so as long as you’re all quiet, you should be safe.

That’s when a massive primate barrels through the brush directly toward you, causing the flesh raiders to give chase.

>crit success

Rushing in, your elbow collides with an unsuspecting flesh raider who makes no sound except the crack of its skull making contact with the ground. You point your practice saber up and skewer another flesh raider who runs straight into it.

Finally aware of your presence, another flesh raider lunges at you only for Ara to stab its neck, the creature crumpling to the ground in pain. You hear a scream from another flesh raider and see Nazz standing with one foot on top of its unconscious form, a smile on her face. Lu is stuck in a back-and-forth with two flesh raiders, managing to parry all of their blows but unable to get any hits in himself. Ara steps in, killing one flesh raider instantly with a sharp blow to the head, letting Lu land a blow on the leg of the final flesh raider, causing it to collapse. Lu tilts his blade up and the flesh raider falls right on top of it, letting out a sickly screech before ceasing to move.

Jorraan enters behind, looking disappointed, “You guys didn’t save any? How’d you all know to run into the forest then?”

“We were paying attention, big guy,” Lu answers, “Always be aware of your surroundings.”

“We should kill that one Nazz knocked unconscious. If it wakes up and makes it back to its village, we could have a couple dozen flesh raiders tailing us,” Ara says.

“It’s a helpless opponent,” Lu responds, “If you’re worried, we can tie it up, but Jedi don’t kill helpless opponents.”

“Oh, real merciful. Tying it up so that predators can eat it slowly or it can starve to death. Very humane,” Ara retorts.

What do you do?
> Leave it. With any luck, you’ll be back at the temple before dusk.
> Tie it up. There are other flesh raider hunting parties around that will find it.

You approach the unconscious beast and take a deep breath.

“Pax…” Nazz puts a hand on your back.

“It’s safest for everyone. And probably a lot less painful than leaving him to die,” you tell yourself as much as you tell her.

You stab downward and the beast doesn’t make a sound. It’s done. You feel your ankle throb with pain as the adrenaline of the fight wears off.

Ara gives you a pat on the shoulder, “We should get moving in case anyone comes looking for these guys.”

You look up from the dead flesh raider and see the mountains where the Forge is located. If you were uninjured, it would take about 3 hours to walk there and another 6 hours to walk back to the temple. According to the sun, it's only a little after noon.

What will you do?

> Move quickly, ignore the pain in your foot

“Ara’s right. We should move quickly.”

You wince slightly as you move through the jungle brush, but push through the pain.

Your friends follow your lead and the five of you make your way through the jungles toward the mountains. Your fast moving makes enough noise to scare away any animals in your way and it seems you’re lucky enough not to run into any more flesh raiders.

It takes about three hours before the pain in your foot becomes too much for you. Luckily, that’s right when you see it.

There, overgrown and seemingly abandoned, is the Lightsaber Forge. And standing atop it is Master Retsma.

“Took all of you long enough,” he says.

“Wait,” Lu says, “How did you…”

“I walked,” Master Retsma replies. “You’ll find parts to build your lightsabers set out. Emitters, switches, bodies, pommels, power adjustment knobs, power cells, discharge cells, matrixes... You get the idea. I trust you all know how to assemble these parts correctly as a result of our lessons.”

At the bottom stair, you collapse, gritting your teeth as your foot throbs.

“Pax!” Nazz exclaims sitting herself beside you with a worried look. She nervously pets her lizard, whose tongue flairs happily. “I knew we should have taken it easier.”

“I’m fine,” you assure her, “I just need a minute to sit down.”

“Master Retsma,” asks Ara, “Why are you here?”

“To make sure flesh raiders don’t try to take the saber parts after I place them and to make sure none of you puts an emitter matrix in upside down and blows everyone else up,” Retsma says.

Jorraan whispers nervously, “What’s an emitter matrix?”

“I heard that, Initiate Jorraan!” Retsma yells down, “If you blow yourself up, I will kill you!”

Nazz, Ara, and Lu giggle at this. Jorraan looks less than comforted.

“Initiate Paxious, can you continue with the trial?” Retsma yells down to you.

“Yes, I just need a minute to rest!” you yell back up to Retsma.

Retsma responds, "I need only a moment of all your time! Rest after you get to the top of these stairs and I address you!"

Lu sits down to your left, putting your arm over his shoulder.

“Come on, let’s get to the top,” he says.

Nazz takes your other arm and puts it over her shoulder. Both of them pick you up and let you walk up the stairs with one foot.

Retsma smiles as you all reach the top of the steps together.

“Initiates,” he says, “present your crystals.”

Each of you holds out a hand, with a glowing crystal in it.

Ara’s purple.

Jorraan’s yellow.

Lu’s blue.

Nazz’s green.

Your silver.

Retsma lifts all the crystals out of your hands. The Force flows through them all differently, like different notes of different instruments. They float away from you and around a circle in the center of the room. There they remain, fixed in mid-air.

Retsma chuckles, “You certainly are an interesting bunch. And I don’t want any of you worried about whether you become great Jedi. In my book, you already are. Next time we meet, you’ll all be Padawans of the Order.”

With that, he leaves, walking down the steps and back into the wilderness toward the temple.

Now to create your lightsaber.

Despite your protests, your friends refuse to let you walk back to the temple tonight.

Ara, while studying the different pommels, says, “You know your strength better than any of us. If you can make it back tonight, do it. If you know you can't--and you know. Don't lie to yourself--then we’ll have extra time to assemble our sabers and a full night’s rest before we head back to the temple.”

Jorraan puts a hand on your shoulder and looks you in the eye seriously. He states, “I do not want to try to heal you again.”

Lu scratches his neck and coughs, adjusting the bandages over his eyes. “None of us want you getting hurt or anything. I don’t … wantyougettinghurt,” Lu trails off and clears his throat, quickly walking away to examine some of the grips.

Nazz pets her lizard and gives you a smile, “You pushed yourself hardest today. You deserve a rest and you need a rest.” She stretches out her arm and touches it to your chest. Her lizard scurries from her arm to your chest, zipping around your torso a few times before making its way back to Nazz’s arm, crawling up it, and settling in her hair. Nazz giggles.

What will you do?

“Fine, fine. You’ve all convinced me,” you say, taking a deep breath and calming yourself down. You’ve been very on edge since your foot was injured. Maybe it is time to slow down for a bit, take things easy, and make sure you do things right instead of fast.

But now, you’ve got something important to do. And you’re going to take your time on it.

You get to work with the others, looking at different parts, picking out ones that feel right. You’re not exactly sure how you know, but you know.

“How are we supposed to know what parts go with our saber?” asks Nazz as she scans the room.

“Follow your instincts,” Lu tells her as he feels the grooves of one of the pommels in his hands, “Let the Force guide you.”

Nazz picks up a part, “Hmm, this could make a great emitter…”

Ara looks over to Nazz and raises an eyebrow, “That’s … a pommel, not an emitter.”

Nazz gives Ara a grin, “Oh, I know. But all I need to do to make this an emitter is take the emitter matrix out of one of those, cut a hole in the bottom of this about the size of that matrix, and fit it in.”

Ara raises both eyebrows this time, “I don’t know if we’re supposed to do that.”

“We’re supposed to follow what the Force tells us to do, right? Well the Force tells me I should make my own parts,” Nazz says, sticking her tongue out at Ara.

Ara tries to glare at Nazz but is unable to hide the smile that takes over her face.

“So Pax,” says Nazz, examining an actual emitter before digging her hand into it and retrieving a small part from the inside with a snap, “What kind of lightsaber do you plan on making?”

> “A simple saberstaff. I don’t have the two crystals needed to make a real one, but I should be able to make the same basic thing with a couple extra power couplings. I like the extra defence it gives against multiple opponents and the offence against single opponents.”
> “A dueling saber. The curve will make it easier to disarm opponents and end fights quickly.”
> “A normal lightsaber. There’s a reason it’s the most used lightsaber in the galaxy by both Sith and Jedi. It’s simple and it works. Nothing fancy about it.”

What are drawbacks of a dueling saber?

Easier disarming seems nice if we wanted to tame a sith after OP cockblocked us with the landshark.

Erm... forget it

>"A normal lightsaber"
>>
>>1766602
The drawback is that its harder to deflect blaster fire and its not as good at defense as a normal saber.

Oh and the main difference between a simple saberstaff and a full one is that you can't activate just one side of the simple saberstaff. Since they use only one crystal, it's all or nothing.
>>
>>1766618
Shit, dropped my trip on mobile.

Also, I'm gonna leave this open for a while before I call the vote.
>>
>>1766587
With the simple saberstaff, its a couple inches shorter than a full one and you have to activate both sides when using it. You can't just use one side.
>>
>>1766618
I see. Gonna stick with the normal lightsaber then.
>>
>>1766633
Does a break into two sabers?
>>
>>1766639
Nope.
>>
>>1766618
So while it is worse at deflecting blaster fire, it's actually better at defense. the curved handle was why Dooku was such a good duelist, it has more finesse and tires out the user less so they can keep their defense up all day and just wait for their opponent to tire themselves out. also it was why Bane was such a powerhouse, he could use his strength and not lose out on speed because of how much finesse you get inherently just from using a curved hilt (and also his was literally weightless somehow so that helped)
>>
>>1766646
Oh my bad, I was lumping in blaster fire deflection with defense. You're right.

The curved hilt is a good choice if youre planning on taking on a lot of opponents one on one but would be at a disadvantage in an open battle field where the regular saber wouldnbe more versatile.

Oh and if you guys want, you could make a cross-guard saber but I advise against it. In this quest, the crossguard saber was made when extensive use of lightsabers on the battle field caused their crystals to crack and the crossguards were made to stop the unstable crystals from exploding and keeping the lightsaber usable on the battle field until the Jedi could get a new crystal.
>>
>>1766642
Ill stick with dueling saber then
>>
>>1766570

You look at the practice saber you've been using, a saberstaff, and think about your trial so far. You’ve only used one side of it this entire time. The simple saberstaff you have the parts to build would force you to use both sides at all times, something that would take some adjusting.

“A normal lightsaber,” you decide, “There’s a reason it’s the most used lightsaber in the galaxy by both Sith and Jedi. It’s simple and it works. Nothing fancy about it.”

“Nothing fancy about it,” interrupts Lu, “That suits you.”

Nazz puts a hand on your shoulder, “You know, it’s been months since we started training. But I think this is the first time it’s ever felt real. I’m trading in my wrench for a lightsaber, the beautiful rusty smell of Nar Shaddaa for the musty Jedi temple, my mom for some Jedi Master.”

Her hand grips your shoulder a little tighter. You look at her face to see it made of stone. Not a single tear forms in her eyes, but her hands tremble.

“Nuh-uh,” Jorraan says, an emitter cradled in his arm like a baby. “I only ever saw my brother Duul once. He’s a mercenary in the outer rim. When I was 8, he visited and that’s when I met him. But he’s still family and I’d die for him if I had to.”

You and your other friends stare at Jorraan in surprise.

“Family’s still family, even a galaxy away. That’s what my mom says,” Jorraan rubs the back of his head and quickly goes back to picking out a body for his lightsaber.

You’re surprised by a tear falling on your hand. You look to Nazz who has a thin smile as she cries.

“I better,” Nazz mumbles, walking away from you, “finish up my saber.”

Everyone gets back to working on their sabers, the room falling into an intense silence as everyone meditates on which parts to use.

Examining the emitters, a few stick out to you.

The first Emitter looks relatively standard. It has a button and knob on it which can be set to activate the lightsaber. It seems sturdy, reliable, and versatile. You don't think you'll have much to complain about if you pick this one.

The next Emitter looks similar, but has a piece of metal sticking out on one side. After knocking on the metal a few times, you realize that piece is made of cortosis! With the few inches between the lightsaber blade and the cortosis guard, you'd be able to disarm opponents much easier. Then again, if that part were to get hit hard enough and bend into the blade of your lightsaber, it could interrupt the energy field, possibly causing an explosion.

The next emitter is a longer one that's skinnier that the other two. The length would give you more reach, but it also gives you a bigger weak stop. If a lightsaber hits this emitter, you can see it will break. But look at it again, you can see how all the parts fit together and decide it wouldn't be hard for you to repair it.

You pick out another emitter, similar to the first you saw, but much less bulky in look. You like the sleekness of it and functionally, it’ll work just as well as the first you picked up.

After assembling the emitter matrix in it and put in parts to make the switch, you make your way over to the bodies to see how you’d like to hold your lightsaber.

The first body is wide, more comfortable to wield with two hands than one. It’s made up of some type of fabric stained black. It’s a little longer, having more reach, but since you’d have to wield it with two hands more than taking it in one hand, it would probably be suited best for more defensive fighting styles.

The second body is bumpy and skinny. One hand fits easily around it but it’s long enough that you could wield it with two without any problems. Your grip on it feels light, like you’re holding someone’s hand, but you can feel the power you could put behind each swing. While the part feels fragile, you find its lightness gives you much less resistance on your swings.

The third body is longer, slanting inward where your hand is supposed to hold it. Its length gives it good reach but the bend for your hand makes this body much better suited for fighting with the lightsaber in one hand. The part is very sturdy and you doubt you’d have to replace it any time soon. This body seems like a good pick if you’re looking to get yourself a second lightsaber.

You pick the third pommel, feeling the spikes on your head as you study it. Your other parts are light enough. It won't slow you down.

Part by part, you assemble your lightsaber. Once you’re finished, you disassemble it and then assemble it again. You take it apart and put it together once more before finally deciding you need sleep. You hear the pitter-patter of rain on stone. You thank the Force that this abandoned temple at least has a roof. You were told to not bring any camping supplies, that a Jedi can survive on the Force alone.

Nazz is the only one still awake. You think about talking to her but stop when you notice how deep in thought she is. She mutters to herself, “...take the stabilizer out of this energy cell and attach it to the front of the matrix to keep from overheating, the crystal holder needs at least three ports of connection for maximum energy efficiency…” In front of her are the pulled open and broken pieces of dozens and dozens of different lightsaber parts. You’d better leave her to it and get some rest.

You sit down and cross your legs, getting in position to meditate. You’ve read bits and pieces about Jedi replacing sleep with meditation with mixed results. However, you recently came across a datapad that taught how to pretend to meditate while you sleep, written by some unruly Padawan a generation ago. Now may as well be the time you test out those methods since the rocky floor won't help with sleep.

Your eyes close and it seems like only a few seconds before sleep overtakes you.

You’re home again. Why are no crops growing? Why is the ground so wet? You look to the west and make out the dam holding back oceans and supplying your home and the home of your few neighbors with power. The sound of hissing and growling creeps up your neck from behind you. You turn around and suddenly you’re at the edge of the wild lands, the jungle. A woman screams from deep within.

“Mom?” says a voice.

You turn to your left. It’s Dane. He’s so young. You’ll always think of him as your little brother, but he seemed to grow up so fast after…

Another scream.

“Mom!” he yells, running into the forest.

Oh no. Your remember this, you remember…

You hear a collision as Dane crashes into someone running the opposite direction. The boney body stands up, snot and tears and blood and piss dripping and wreaking from him. He doesn’t try to get up when he falls down. Five years is a long time to grow. You barely recognize that form curled up in a ball on the forest floor.

Dane gets up quick, angry until noticing the balled up body that crashed into him.

“Paxious?” Dane asks, “Paxious, where’s mom?”

Your hear the sniffles of your younger self.

“Paxious!” Dane repeats, “Where is mom?!”

The voice of your younger self croaks, “We weren’t ‘sposed to go in the forests. Wild lands. Anything’s out there. She told me.”

Dane gives your younger body a kick. You don’t respond.

You close your eyes. You can’t take it. Not this memory, not that day. But wait, why were the plains flooded? That never happened.

Your eyes open find Dane and your younger self standing together, glaring right at you from barely a foot away.

They open their mouths in unison:

“Where water is thick like blood
And sun an open wound,
You’ll meet your maker
And engrave a tomb.”

As soon as they finish speaking, wind rushes past your face. You find yourself face to face with the dam, its walls rocking and bending under unknowable amounts of pressure. You stretch out your arms and try to hold it back, buy some time, figure out how to fix this.

The walls burst and for only a second, you feel the Force flow through you as you attempt to hold back the ocean. Once that second is over, you’re washed away.

Your eyes shoot open, feeling as awake as if you had been up for hours. You get up without saying a word to Ara or Lu, who are awake. Your grab your silver crystal from the circle of floating crystals. You place it inside your lightsaber, activating it for the first time. Holding it up above your head, you hear a scream coming from the jungle.

As a scream echoes from the jungle, guttural and primal, your friends wake.

“That,” Lu grumbles, “Sounds like something we shouldn’t stick around for.”

Another scream tears through the jungle, then another, then another.

Jorraan rubs sleep away from his eyes as he wonders, “Are those fresh raiders?”

“Yeah,” Ara answered, “And judging by those screams, it sounds like they’re signaling each other for something.”

Nazz stretches and yawns, “Well, we should finish our sabers and get out of here.”

“You haven’t finished yet?” asks Lu, activating his blue lightsaber. “I went to bed before you, Nazz. What were you doing all night?”

As Nazz smiles, you notice the bags under her eyes, “I’m almost done. I just have a few nuts and bolts to tighten.”

“Nazz,” pleads Ara, “If those screams are signals for different flesh raider tribes to assemble, there could be an army here any minute. It might be best for us to take what you need to finish your saber and leave.”

“This is a defendable position,” Jorraan states, “There’s a narrow staircase and no other way up that we’ve seen. If they do come, it’ll be better to be here than out in the open.”

“Wait wait wait, we’re going to fight an army of flesh raiders literally directly after getting our lightsaber? This feels a bit above a Padawan’s pay-grade. Also, Nazz, we don’t have tools. How do you tighten nuts and bolts?” Lu ponders.

“With the Force, duuuh,” Nazz declares, “Now I need to get to work. Ara, find me an extra emitter matrix”

“What? Nazz I thought you only needed to tighten a few nuts and bolts,” Ara responds.

“Oh, it isn’t for my lightsaber,” Nazz says with a mischievous smile.

“So are we staying or leaving?” Lu asks, “I vote to leave now and avoid the fight altogether. We can hide out in the forest pretty easily. We’ve all been taught the basics of stealth.”

Ara nods, “I’m with Lu. There’s a chance they won’t charge up the stairs and will just wait at the bottom to try to starve us out."

“Hand me an emitter matrix and that won’t be a problem,” Nazz chirps.

“We just got our lightsabers and I wanna use ‘em,” Jorraan gulps, telling himself more than anyone else, “No running away.”

It looks like there’s a tie vote.

“Nazz, what do you need that emitter matrix for?” you say, considering your option.

Nazz’s grin grows more mischievous, “Connect the emitter matrix to the emitter body upside down, run a bunch of power cells through it, attach a switch and after about 7 seconds,” Nazz pauses and makes exploding sound effects with her mouth, her arms gesturing upward to indicate a large explosion.

“Makeshift grenades,” Ara marveled, “Those will come in handy.”

“How many could we make, Nazz,” Lu asks, “If we all started making them now?”

“Probably five or six,” she responds.

A plan is starting to form in your head.

“Let’s start making those grenades,” you say, “And once Nazz finishes making her saber, we’ll head out.”

Everyone nods in agreement.

You get to work on the makeshift grenades.

“Okay, it is too easy to make explosives out of lightsaber parts,” Lu points out, “I think this is a hazard.”

Ara mocks, “Oh, and a laser sword isn’t dangerous?”

“Done!” Nazz says, holding up her green saber. Its design is definitely unique.

The five of you head out, making your way into the jungle. You get closer to the roaring but it doesn’t seem to be moving any closer to you.

What do you do?

This isn’t an army. They aren’t hunting you. Something isn’t right.

You take the lead and motion for your friends to follow. Lu and Ara both give you looks, but don’t protest.

Climbing through the brush and trees, you move slowly and silently toward the source of the noises. You notice flesh raider tracks near the trails, all going toward where you’re going. There are drums of some sort, beating so low and consistently, you didn’t notice them before. Their hypnotic rhythm distracts you so much that you almost fall directly into the clearing where they’re all camped.

There’s got to be forty, no, fifty flesh raiders. They're separated into groups, each group having some sort of tent with an emblem crudely painted on.

You take out your lightsaber, gripping it just in case.

“Pax,” Nazz whispers, “You did not.”

You turn to her, confused.

“The horn!” she giggles in a whisper until Ara puts a finger on her mouth to silence her. Nazz responds by lightly biting Ara’s finger, causing Ara to pull back her hand in surprise. Ara gives Nazz a dirty look, which she responds to by miming a zipper shutting her mouth. Nazz turns back to you and gestures at your lightsaber, mouthing, “The horn!”

You roll your eyes and look back at the camp of flesh raiders you were observing.

That’s when you see them. A white cloak that looks too heavy for this climate and a hood covering their head. That person is not a flesh raider. One by one, you feel your friends noticing the same thing.

You can’t see their face. There’s a hood obscuring it. They seem to be socializing with the savages, talking to a larger group of them. Their back continues to face you until a flesh raider screams loudly again. The hooded figure turns around, revealing a mask. They walk to the center of the clearing where another flesh raider waits for them.

The drums get louder. The flesh raider beats its chest and lets out a roar. The others circle around and begin to chant. You’ve lost sight of the flesh raider and the hooded figure in the crowd.

What will you do?

We're gonna take a bit of a pause for now. I'll update tonight and I'll be running tomorrow though.

I'm not convinced we should reveal ourselves to this gathering desu

Even if we were to apprehend the robes, we'd still have to wipe out the remaining raiders.

>You've seen enough, let's go.

Although... if we could get them to fight each other, frame the stranger for betrayal...
