>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

And here I was wondering where you went.
Welcome back Somnius, may the dice bring suffering.
>>
Side-by-side, you and Trunks walk the halls of the Lookout, following Mr. Popo as he leads the way to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

It's been a long time since you've even thought about this place. With its rather strict rules of use, and incredible difficulty, you and Goku largely considered it inferior when compared to gravity chambers or the time travel room within the Lookout. But now, with time a precious commodity, and rapid improvement desperately needed, this strange room may be your only hope.

Then again, it could kill you.

As children, you and Goku only lasted a few weeks, and barely. The pressured of the time chamber proved far too much for either of you to handle, and you were forced to leave well before the full year had passed. Of course, you're thousands of times stronger than you were back then, but given the apprehension you can sense from Popo, that might not matter.

"Is there enough food in that room to last two people a year?" Bulma asks from behind you and Trunks.

"Yes," Popo assures her. "There are also two beds, and a bath. It's not very luxurious, but it contains all of the necessities."

"That's all we'll need," Trunks promises.

"Yeah, I'm sure you two will be fine," Bulma admits. "Just try not to miss me too much."

>A. A year without her is going to be awful

"Hey, Bulma, is there any chance you can make some armor for me and Trunks while we're in there?" you ask your wife.

"That shouldn't be too hard," Bulma tells you with a shrug. "Sure."

"Thanks," you tell her with a smile. "I am gonna miss you. Seriously, a year without you sounds awful, but this should be a great opportunity for some quality time with Trunks. You and me will just have to make up for lost time when I get back."

Bulma smirks. "I'm sure I can arrange that."

Trunks groans.

Finally, you reach the door to the Time Chamber. Popo stops in front of it, turning toward you and the others.

"Alright, here we are," he announces. "Once you step inside, you will be able to train to your heart's content for a full year. Out here, only a day will have passed. Use this time well, especially you, Tofoo. You've already been inside the chamber once. This is the last time you may enter without being trapped there."

"I understand," you tell Popo before looking to your son. "Are you ready?"

Trunks looks a tad nervous about all of this, but he does his best to put on a confident front, keeping his expression determined and his voice firm.

"Yes."

You turn your attention to Bulma, and the two of you share a long kiss before breaking apart. For Bulma, only a day's going to pass before you're reunited, but for you, it will be a full year. She's certainly smart enough to understand that, so you aren't surprised to see a little bit of worry in her eyes as the two of you look at each other.

"Hey," another voice says.

You look to see Goku and Kori approaching, your old friend giving you a smile, and his daughter looking toward the chamber door with a good deal of curiosity.

"Good luck in there," Goku tells you. "I can't wait to see what you learn in the next year."

"I have some ideas," you tell him.

Goku's smile grows wider. "I'll bet you do. "

You smile in return. "I'm sure you have some ideas, too."

"I might," Goku tells you with a smirk.

"Well, I can't wait to see what you do with your training," you tell him.

"Well, either I'll be using what I learn to help you stop the androids and that monster, or you'll have already taken care of it, and we'll just have to have a sparring match," Goku tells you.

"I'm looking forward to it," you assure him. "Say, while I'm gone, can you keep an eye on things?"

"It would be best if Goku and Kori remained on the Lookout," Popo states. "That way, they can enter immediately once you return."

"I promise to keep an eye out, Tofoo," Goku assures you. "And Mr. Popo, I'll do my best to stay here until it's time."

Satisfied, Popo turns and opens the door. "Tofoo, Trunks, you may enter."

I don't really see the point of training Kuma-Ken other than it affecting our endurance and ki, I mean I'd be fine with it but we could use that time to learn a new move Tofoo desperately needs a finisher or a nuke to use on enemies. I do see the benefit of training it up though but if we do Kuma-Ken training I say we combine it either with meditation or breathing exercises or even both. We also shouldn't neglect base form training.

It's time.

You step forward without fear, crossing the threshold into the endless Room of Spirit and Time.

Trunks steps in behind you, and the door slams shut a moment later. The two of you stand alone in the one, small building in this strange dimension.

In every direction, there's an endless sea of white that may very well stretch on forever. Popo and Kami were never able to tell you how far it goes, and you and Goku weren't able to stray far from the building without being overwhelmed. The Time Chamber is a dangerous place. The further you get from the building, the more powerful the gravity becomes. The air fluctuates from perfectly breathable to so thin that you become light in the head. The temperature can be colder than any tundra on Earth, or as hot as a raging fire.

This room is perhaps the greatest place in the universe to test yourself, and push your body to new heights. Assuming, of course, that you don't kill yourself in the process.

Trunks stands dumbstruck, staring out into the void. It looks like he'll need a minute to take all of this in.

Think Tofoo will share with Trunks that he let himself get stung by a ton of bees as a child to toughen up his tolerance for pain. That was pretty brutal, just like swimming across the ocean with a cannonball tied to your back.

"Come on, let's spar," you tell your son, stepping out into the void.

You can't even really feel the difference in gravity right away as you leave the small building behind. At such a close distance, this doesn't even compare to your gravity training. As Trunks follows you, on the other hand, you can see it getting to him. You suppose that's to be expected. In the future, odds are that he didn't have access to gravity machines.

Your son seems to be struggling to stand, let-alone move or fight. He gives you an almost pleading look, silently begging for you to give him some time to adjust.

Sighing, you relent, and ask him if he has any ideas for new techniques while he attempts to get used to the gravity.

"Not much, really," Trunks admits. "The Kienzan and Energy Sword are enough to cut down most enemies. The only two they won't have much use against are Nineteen and Twenty, and creating another energy attack to use against them would be kind of a waste of time."

As seen with piccolo and with that fucker that simply doesn't stay dead, there are enemies that can survive or even regenerate from being sliced into ribbons. Probably they might need a huge nuke, a "Fuck You" final technique that is guaranteed to destroy even at atom level enemies so they cannot survive it
>>
>>1756909
Well, like anon said, it'll allow us to train at higher levels which will take a bigger toll on our body, and at the same time we'll become more efficient with the ability. I don't see why not to be honest, there really isn't a downside.

"And what about the enemies that come along once Nineteen and Twenty are dead?" you demand of your son.

He looks at you as if the thought never crossed his mind, and you fight back the anger that begins to surface. He's grown up under the tyranny of the Androids, lived in their shadow almost his entire life. You can understand why he's only thought as far as stopping them.

Still, such an attitude will not do, and so you explain to him that the Earth will always have threats. You explain that, after the Red Ribbon Army, it looked like Earth would have peace. Then, Piccolo showed up. Even Kami thought that with Piccolo gone, the Earth could have peace. But then, Mercenary Tao came back, the Black Ribbon Army came along, Goku was mind-controlled, Dr. Wheelo, Garlic Junior, Raditz and the Saiyans, Freeza, Slug, Turles, Cooler, it never seems to end. The Earth will always have threats, and need people ready to face them.

Trunks seems to understand what you're saying, but seems crestfallen at the same time. You can tell what he's thinking; 'what's the point in fighting if the Earth can never have peace'.

In your weaker moments, you sometimes wonder about that yourself.

Not wanting to let him dwell on that for too long, you change the subject back to fighting, and address his issues with the Energy Sword.

"What you need is a real sword," you tell him. "They shouldn't be able to absorb energy from that. Not as easily, at least."

Trunks thinks about this. "Yeah, that's not a bad idea. I'll just need to get one to practice with once we're out of here."

Maybe he doesn't have to wait. You've seen Kami conjure items before. Maybe you can do the same?

Also think about how convenient it would be if both of you could learn the teleportation technique Goku has. He learned it in relatively little time, and you were always better than him at picking new concepts and ideas, so why not try to also learn that?

Activate Kuma Ken and tell Trunks as well. Tell him we are going to teach him everything about our bear style, but for the first month we are going to focus on improving his endurance, mind, and ki control. For the first day we are going to see how long he can keep the Kuma Ken activated while doing regular training and sparring. Afterwards tell him the goal is to keep the Kuma Ken activated for longer than a day or more by the end of the first month, while meditating and improving his endurance. Since we are going to go deeper and deeper the time chamber after the first month as much as we can before the year is up.

Even if he was trained by Konattsu, it wasn't as much as we need to give him now while we can.

You visualize a sword, thinking of what would be just right for Trunks. He'll probably be good with something he can use both two-handed and one-handed, depending on the situation, with a grip adjusted for his hands, and of sufficient weight for its strikes to carry power, but light enough that wielding it is not cumbersome.

Extending your right hand, you fire a beam of light from your pointer-finger, and release your mental image into the world. It appears at Trunks's feet, snugly fitted into a leather scabbard.

Trunks stares down at it, blinking his eyes in confusion.

"Did you just...."

"Yep," you tell him. "And it's all yours. Pick it up, give it a few swings."

Trunks does as you say, though he seems to have a bit of difficulty bending over and picking it up. He attaches the scabbard to his body and reaches back, drawing the sword and giving it some sluggish swings.

"Okay, the first thing I want you to do is get adjusted to the gravity here," you tell him.

He nods. "Good idea. I'll practice with this sword while I adjust, two birds with one stone."

That seems like a reasonable approach, and so you allow him to do that in peace, telling him that you're going to go off on your own for a bit while he adjusts.

Turning away from your son, you venture further into the void, trying to decide how to approach your training.

You've got a year to train. After this, it's do or die time. You will not be given another opportunity like this to prepare for your foes out there. Trunks, Bulma, they're depending on you.

You won't let this time go to waste!

"KUMA-KEN!" you shout at the top of your lungs, feeling your power skyrocket as a green aura surrounds your body.

The Kuma-Ken already takes far less energy than the Kaio-Ken, and is far less risky to the body, but it still steadily drains your stamina. Your hope is to master your energy control while in this form and reduce the stamina drain as much as possible. To that end, you need to stay in this form for as long as possible and push yourself as much as you can.

And so you do.

You fly through the void and push your body to its absolute limits while holding onto the Kuma-Ken for dear life, trying to make each bit of energy last for as long as possible. And, for the next hour, you manage to do so without trouble.

But, when that time passes, you begin to feel fatigue. Still, you fight on, and it's another two hours before you're forced to land and drop out of the Kuma-Ken, returning to your normal state and falling back into what you suppose is the ground, drenched in sweat and with labored breath.

"Dad."

You turn your head to see Trunks steadily approaching you, seeming to be able to move without too much trouble for right now, but still drenched in sweat from the effort of getting used to the new gravity.

"What were you doing out here?" he asks, giving you a puzzled look.

Well, he's at least got an idea about what you're suggesting, then. That's good. You pick yourself off the ground and turn to face him.

"Want to spar?" you ask.

A smile appears on your son's face. "Alright."

He takes a fighting stance, and a green aura surrounds his body as his power shoots up.

You do the same, feeling the power of the Kuma-Ken return once again.

The two of you stare one-another down.

I'll be honest, for a majority of Z we were a super evasive counter fighter.
We also have quite a big boner for swords.
We just can't tank hits like we used to and I wanna rectify that.
Remember kid Tofoo taking way more of the lightning surprise than he should have been able too?
Those were the days.
>>
>>1757189
Honestly, we could try to tank, it would just fall down to dice rolls and SOM's interpretation of those.
Dodging is always the safer one tho, since even if you fail, the intention to avoid damage still stands.

To be fair, in the Z era of dragon ball, toughness comes from having the body soaked in ki rather than from having it receiving toughness training.

See for example kaioken and any other super mode like super saiyan. In base form they are as durable as anyone who trained like they did, but the moment their power booster flares to life, their toughness gets drastically increased to the point let' say Goku can effortlessly block sword slices that previously could cut through Freezer's body, which was previously shown to be pretty tough against people with lesser powerlevels.

Hell, goku's epic failure against the ring laser in the return of freezer shows that when they aren't buffing their bodies with ki aura, they are frail things

Trunks takes the initiative and charges toward you, throwing a punch that you manage to block without difficulty.

"You know, defensive fighting like this was my specialty," you tell your son as you ready for his next attack.

A smirk comes to his face. "Yeah, I know."

The next thing you know, Trunks drops down and sweeps your legs out from under you, causing you to fall forward right toward him. He raises his right hand and presses the palm to your chest, hitting you with an energy blast that sends you sailing into the sky above.

Next, he fores another pair of blasts that you bring up your arms to block. They detonate against your arms, creating a smokescreen in front of your eyes.

You're struck from behind and sent crashing to the ground below, and before you have the chance to react, more energy attacks rain down on your back. Your body jolts with each attack, and you grit your teeth as you feel the searing pain of the blasts against your skin.

You feel a surge of energy, and something large hits you on the back. You cry out in pain, and the detonation of the blast makes you bounce, ending with you sliding away.

Finally, you come to a stop, and so do the attacks.

-Confusion Energy Sword Octoarm technique, where in the middle of the opponent partying out 8-armed hits, we suddenly combine with the Energy Sword. Few people would even expect a stabby assault like that.

You grin, picking yourself off of the ground. It hurts, but you manage to ignore the pain as you prepare for round two.

Trunks caught you off-guard, and you can't help but feel pride in your son's abilities. Konattsu and Kori clearly taught him well. Still, no reason to let him get cocky.

"WOLF FANG FIST!" you shout, rushing into the air and charging toward your son.

You attack with a furious series of punches and claw-strikes, but your son manages to fend off each-one. At first, anyway. However, your attacks become faster and faster, and soon your arms are moving at such speed that it's as if there are eight instead of two.

Trunks is unable to keep up, and finds himself being pummeled, pushed back and struck repeatedly, unable to even defend himself as you hit him again and again and again.

Finally, you finish the combination with a double-palm strike to the chest, pushing him away and ending the torment.

Trunks breathes heavily, eyes closed and body trembling. You seem to have left some bruises, there. His eyes slowly open, and he takes in a breath, his trembling stopping as anger flashes within his eyes.

He does remember that this is sparring, right?

You can feel his energy begin to flair up, and his power rises to new heights.

Trunks comes rushing toward you like a freight train, and you prepare yourself to fend off what's sure to be a brutal assault. An idea strikes you, and you decide to give it a go, channeling energy into your hands, which begin to crackle with electricity.

Trunks lets out a yell and throws a punch at your face, only for you to bring up your right hand and parry the attack out of the way. Your son cries out in surprise, his body jolting with electricity.

At the same time, you feel a faint string in your cheek, and stop channeling your electricity long enough to bring a hand up and wipe away the blood that's dripping from it.

His attack didn't even hit you, and yet it was able to draw blood.

Looks like Trunks has quite a bit of power hidden there.

He recovers from the surprise of the shock, but rather than rushing at you and attacking again, he glares at you, grits his teeth, and moves back while rising higher into the air. He holds his right hand above his head, his palm facing the sky.

A large, yellow ball of light appears above his palm, growing to the size of a person in a flash, and a moment later growing to the size of a trailer. It grows larger and larger until it's the size of a house, and from the energy you're sensing, it's going to pack quite a punch.

"LAST BLAST!" he shouts, hurling the massive energy ball down toward you.

That blast is colossal, and if you allow it to hit you head-on, you're toast. You gather up your energy and prepare a Bear Shout, though somewhere deep down you sort of doubt that it will be enough to stop an attack like this.

You know longer feel entirely like this is a spar, your survival instincts kick in, and you open your mouth to attack with everything you have.

The green aura surrounding your body disappears, and you could swear for just a moment that you see blue. Some sort of pressure seems to surround you, causing your head to hurt and your vision to blur as your attack rushes up to meet the one sent out by Trunks.

To your surprise, not only does the Bear Shout stop the blast, but it punches right through it, presumably coming out the other side and striking Trunks. The "Last Blast" detonates, sending hundreds, perhaps thousands of smaller blasts raining down to bombard the area, flashes of light and large explosions rocking all around you.

The pressure and blue aura vanish, as does your vision as you fall backward, losing consciousness before you hit the ground.

Gotta say, I as someone who voted against becoming guardian of Earth every time it came up before the one where it actually passed, I've been pleasantly surprised by how little it's limited Tofoo. I was expecting a situation where we fall into Kami's role entirely, including everyone else surpassing us, but I'm glad to see I was wrong about that.
>>
>>1757584
Woo, what a ride, thanks for running.

Guess Trunks takes more after Kori's side of training when things don't go his way.
>>
>>1757613
At times. Kori and Konattsu had very different approaches when it came to teaching, and Trunks sometimes has difficulty balancing their teachings. In the beginning he was going with Konattsu's strategy of techniques, analyzing weaknesses and exploiting them. Later on, he took Kori's advice of turning pain and anger into power and overwhelming foes with sudden leaps in energy. In this case, that failed him
>>
>>1757584

>>1757644

Pretty much that, and to be fair, Kami did split his power in half and the god before him insisted that he had to get rid of all his vices and earthly desires, leaving him kinda pacifistic and giving him a personality where he passively watched over the world and wouldn't do shit unless it threatened the existence of the world, like it happened with Piccolo.

Probably the whole being pure to be a god taught Kami a lesson about how sometimes they need to be ruthless to save the world, hence why he insisted Tofoo with all his flaws and all to take the mantle, as he gets shit done and knows when to make tough choices.

Now, speaking about gods, I wonder if Tofoo's next son/daughter will inherit his god ki, as his seed is now god-powered. And probably Tofoo could teach others how to achieve god ki once he gets to tap into its potential know how

I'm not sure if that's the case. It seems like you're only a god as long as you hold the position to it. Even among the Kais, who are essentially the closest to being actual born gods, their powers come from their position, not naturally. For example, The assistant and next in line to the Supreme Kai was given the ability to heal others, but they immediately lose this when they become Supreme Kai in exchange for gaining other abilities, like using the time rings. I believe that it is possible for tofoo to retain the ability to use God Ki after giving up guardianhood, if he were to learn how to use it properly and learn to properly call upon it, but I don't believe he would be capable of passing on its power to future offspring since he isn't a hereditary god like a Kai is. He probably makes it easier for his kids to unlock, but more due to being around and training with him than anything else. Of course, I could be completely wrong and som takes this in a completely different direction.

>>
>>1757741
Buu Saga and Super should be fun with all this god stuff
>>
We need to pull a denda and upgrade the chamber so anyone can use it how many times they want.
>>
>>1757741

I dunno man, if fucking super saiyan mode is as good as hereditary considering how easily Goten and Trunks got them as they were sired after their parents achieved SSJ, probably is the same case with god ki. Or at the very least makes it easier to do, again, citing as example the kids who effortlessly achieved what their parents had to go through hell to achieve.

Anyways, probably everybody can get god ki with some effort. Haven't watched super but if regular mortal species like the saiyan can achieve it for what I read, probably humans and namekians between others too can develop god ki without having to inherit it from another god
>>
I kind of want to have a heart to heart with Trunks, he views fighting way differently than Tofoo since he grew up under the Androids. Tofoo fought for fun and himself before he fought for the earth and Trunks didn't have that experience as a martial artist.
>>
>>1757769

Yeah. Trunks takes things way too seriously. Hatred and anger are indeed great sources of power, but also makes one prone to recklessness and commiting mistakes and losing Ki efficiency as attacks comes packing more energy but also there's always excess energy spilled-

Probably meditating with Tofoo and learning how to keep a cool mind under pressure would do wonders for him. Dude's too stressed, and he seemed to be troubled by something back when Tofoo tried to talk with him but he stayed silent and distant
>>
>>1757729
I think it's obvious by now but if we do figure out how to use god ki and attain a god form I want to name it Kami-ken, it's appropriate and very cool.

Kaio-ken: "Fist of the King of Worlds" or "World King Fist"

Kuma-ken: "Fist of the Bear" or "Bear Fist"

Kami-ken: Can go multiple translations

"Fist of God" or "God Fist"

"Fist of Deity" or "Deity Fist"

"Fist of the Supreme being" or "Supreme being's Fist"

"Fist of Idol" or "Idol's Fist"

"Fist of Spirit" or "Spirit Fist"

Personally I'm all for "Supreme Being's Fist" or "God Fist"

>>1757767
Personally, I think that had less to do with genetics and more to do with the fact they trained along side Super Saiyans at a young age. Goten constantly played and trained with Trunks, who sometimes got made to keep up with his dad's training, which is extremely tough, while also constantly watching him and Gohan use Super Saiyan. SS seems like the kind of thing you can pick up quickly if you

a) Get a good feel for it

b) have the power to use it

Well, the training at such a young age explains b, and the close proximity of Super Saiyans since they were born hits A. Not really hereditary, just born into the life style, it's different.
>>
>>1757782
He had a cooler head before Konattsu died
>>
I just realized we never talked to krillin about how he figured out kuma-ken.
>>
>>1757795
Probably by watching us do it a whole bunch. With Saiyans, SS is a race only thing so he probably didn't see the point in trying to catch up. In this timeline however, he knows the Kaio-ken and probably saw the incentive to trying to figure out a technique that's better in every way and similar enough to not be to hard to figure out by feeling the Ki long enough. It seems like Master Martial Artists can pick up Ki Attacks very quickly if the get enough of a feel for it and it isn't too different from what they're used to. Goku, Krillin, Tien, and Tofoo all almost immediately figured out the Kamehameha wave, a move Roshi spent decades making. Frieza figured out the Destructo Disc, in a few hours tops, during a fight. Tofoo figured out how to harness electric Ki just from getting hit by a lighting ki attack. Martial art masters and natural talents are a weird breed, man.
>>
>>1757784

Did goku and vegeta really go SS during the times of peace? If I remember well, they always trained in base level except for the time when goku and gohan trained to naturalize the SSJ state so it is like being in normal mode and didn't really need to see many times the transformation to master it, they even were so good at it that when fused could go SSJ 3.

Also, the kids felt none of the side effects of just starting to learn the SSJ mode like bursts of anger and battlelust and even in the more stressful SSJ 3 mode, they were as easygoing and chill as always, as if they had also mastered that mode too.

Anyways, the one thing I do agree is that probably if the others can get a good feel for it, they too could learn how to develop god ki the hard way.

>>1757795

He's one of the smarter fighters after Tofoo, probably he picked hints about it from watching how Tofoo is in almost perfect control of his ki during kuma-ken
>>
>>1757821
Goku and Vegeta use super saiyan all the time, like, all the fucking time. Hell, I remember a scene where Vegeta and Trunks were training in the gravity chamber and they were both SS, vegeta only just realized that Trunks could use it too. Gohan does the same thing, using SS to show goten, who learns it by watching him do it multiple times. Bursts of anger CAN be the trigger to unlock the SS state, but it seems like Trunks and Goten figured out how to the mastered version(Grade V) from watching Gohan and Vegeta use it, which basically lessens the rage inducement to the point you don't even really feel it.

krillon os one of the few Z foghters to have made techniques. most of then just refine previous teachings or get taught new stuff. only he an picollo regularly bust out new shit
>>
>>1757821
They did indeed go ss in times of peace. There's a flash back of vegita as a super saiyan and then trunks going super saiyan. Goku trained to unlock ss2 and ss3.

More twisted future soon?

We shall see

We should add actually gaining control over and mastering the god ki powered beat shout (Kami shout?) to the list of things to do. Shit has done pretty impressive things for what is effectively a move halfway between the kamehameha and dodonpa in power

So now we're Gohan but with God Ki and also the dad.
>>
Now that we are guardian does that mean that an alternate name for the Z Warriors is The God Squad?
>>
>>1758442
Kind of, We're more like a chill, human vegeta that can actually keep up/surpass Goku

Thread today?

going back and reading over it it seemed like we had unlocked a seperate transformation instead of a god ki infused attack.
>>
>>1766419
I feel it was more we tapped in and used the god ki instead of an infused attack or transformation. It was almost like a desperate moment where we tapped into it, I think it's been twice already, we need to find a way to bring it to surface either through stress straining or meditation, provided we get high rolls of course.

cant help but feel that a mystic form, god ki, kumaken combo is our end state.

and if you read carefully our aura changed from the green of Kumaken to blue. so unless we unlocked a human parallell to SS blue or Aoiken or something odd. in any event ot wasnt simply a god ki infused attack, there was more going on.

I also wanted to fusion dance with Trunks in the hopes that God ki would rub off on him and we could eventually install him as Guardian of the Future Earth.
>>
>>1766513

That's actually a good idea. Once Tofoo manages to manually tap into the power of god ki, he could try to fuse with Trunks so he gets to have a good feel of god ki and learn to manifest it by himself.

And if there's no way for him to create dragon balls, i guess it could work if Tofoo + the dragon balls goes to his future and then make the wish to revive everybody killed by the androids
>>
So what's our new form gonna be named
Kami-ken?
>>
>>1766874
Super Kuma Guardian Deity of Earth Tofoo. Get some of those old fashion /m/ naming points.
>>
>>1766874
I'd prefer no name or something simple, maybe just blue if nothing fits.
>>1766913
You lit my inner passion anon, how about
>Super Explosive Kuma Crushing Gutsy Green Guardian Lightning Deity of Earth Tofoo.
It could be better though, needs more adjectives
>>
>>1766874
I'm all for Kami-ken, it's simple and fits well to the state.
>>
>>1767153
It needs to be Super Explosive Kuma Crushing Gutsy Green Guardian Lightning Deity of -the-
Earth Tofoo-sama (Late, God-Ki Unlocked).

But at what cost, Suplex, at what cost?

>>1768225
Just a universe. Plus Gohan got to be badass for the first time since Cell really.
>>

Will he? Or he will job as usual?
>>
>>1768288
He got about half an episode of being cool tonight, so that means he's due to job soon.

>Forgetting his battle with Super Buu
>>
One thing I like about gohan is how they have spent large story arcs hyping his apparently unnatural potential only for him to become a total jobber once Cell was busted. He's literally the saiyan counterpart of yamcha, it's just that he's hyped more and the fall is even greater
>>
>>1769548
I'm pretty sure he would have beaten Super Buu if he didn't do a Vegeta and become stupidly overconfident for ten minutes

Gohan is more mature now. Seeing the family locker also probably helped him from getting an inflated ego again, since it reminds him of what he's fighting for.
>>
>>1770901
>fights to keep his family and friends safe
Why can't Goku do shit like that anymore
>>
>>1770996
I'm pretty sure thats mostly dubisms, i can't honestly think of a time besides Raditz that he actively fought to protect a family member, maybe i'm forgetting something
>>
>>1771026
In the Battle of Gods film, picturing his family and friends inspired him to keep fighting
>>
>>1770996
He never really did though, most of the time Goku fought for the sake of battle rather than to protect his family and friends. Most of the time the two just coincided.
>>
>>1771087
And then that promptly got shat on by Goku putting an incalculable amount of lives in jeopardy.
>>
>>1770996
Mangafags thought Japanese Superman was somehow a bad thing.
>>
>>1772037
Being a pseudo-superman worked really well for Goku.
What began as a bid to make him more palatable for American audiences ended up working brilliantly.
Not to mention Toriyama was a pretty big superman fan himself and probably didn't mind the changes assuming he ever cared to look into the english dub.
Whatever the case though, blame Toei for picking one of the worst way to push the plot forward.
Not only do they trample on anything Goku had going for him as a character, they completely fuck the pacing by jumping into another tournament.
Good god why does Toei have the rights to the anime anymore? The barely ever do quality work.

Eh one of my favorite moment of the Zamasu and Black arc was Goku losing his cool once they told him that they killed Chichi and Goten
