/qst/ - Quests

Welcome back to Anime Delinquent Quest!

Last time we left off not a lot happened.

Nakai Youma ran out of class after being given the go ahead by the teacher, and saved Fumo Sen from some crazy ice lady.

After confirming that you will fight Sen once school gets out, you went over to check on your bro, Hisato.

Hisato was getting threatened by some members of the Brando Troop gang. However, your appearance caused them to shit themselves, and leave behind some yen and smokes for you.

However, you then found out a rather horrible fact; Chie and Hisato's sister are becoming friends.

Now, on with the Quest!

You just sit there, staring up at the sky for you don't know how long.

Hisato does the same. He's probably thinking about the long term implications of all of this. If his sister is exactly like he says she is, then Hisato might become the husband of your greatest enemy.

That...that can't happen.

Can it?

You both just sit there, taking comfort in the fact that you both know how bad this situation is.

You can't stay silent forever though, and you place a hand on Hisato's arm.

>"You know we can't let this happen. Right?"

>"It's been an honor hanging out with you Hisato."

>"I'm gonna be the best man at your wedding, right?"

You make sure to grin as you speak, making Hisato frown at your words.

He stands up and starts to walk back into the school, "I'm glad you're able to make light of this situation. Meanwhile, I'm having a panic attack on the inside."

You follow behind him into the school's main hall. You see some kids get ready to jump you, but one look at you and they think better of it. Hisato keeps walking, phone out in front of him as the both of you move.

"Luckily, I've got a foolproof plan to make sure that this doesn't happen," he says while tapping away on his device, "But I'm gonna need your help to pull it off.

"I figured you would say that," Hisato smiles up at your answer, before showing you some pictures on his phone.

What you see makes your blood run cold. You see Hisato's sister, Miso, walking along side Chie. Both of them are looking at each other and *smiling*. Chie even has her eyes closed while ruffling Miso's hair!

This is worse than you thought!

"As you can see, the current situation is very troubling," Hisato takes the phone away from your face, letting you see in front of you again. You're going down one of the hallways, but it's mostly empty.

Strange, shouldn't there be students all around here heading to class?

"No, really, do ya think?" you say while taking another puff of the cig in your mouth.

"Make all the jokes you want, but trust me when I say that this is extremely bad. If Miso is able to convince Chie to start dating me....I don't even want to think about it," he shivers when the sentence is finished.

Then he looks up with a determined stare, "We're here."

"Here?" you question before looking up at the door in front of you.

Oh, now you know why there's hardly anyone here.

This is the Disciplinary Committees Board Room. You've had to come over here a few times for multiple reasons.

Most of them involved Chie or one of her watch dogs.

>"What are we doing here?"

>"So, what exactly is the plan?"

>"So, what exactly is the plan?"

Hisato walks forward and tries the door to the room. As expected, it's locked. Rather than be discouraged, Hisato brings out one of his drones with a tap on his phone.

The drone flies out of his pocket, and moves onto the doorknob. You hear the sound of clicking and tumblers moving. Then you hear a loud click, and the drone flies back to its owner.

Histato tries the door again and this time it opens. He chuckles and turns to you, "Ok. You know how the Chie's Circle Jerk keeps a copy of every person who enters the school?"

"Don't I ever," you still remember the first time you walked through the gates. Almost immediately someone from this Committee walked up to you and tried to start something. Kind've helped cement your relationship at this school.

"Well, their copy is digital. So, I'll hack into their system and set it up so that Miso is considered a deviant and not allowed on school grounds. That way Chie won't associate with her, and she won't be able to follow me from home."

Sounds like a pretty solid plan. But, even you are able to see a hole in it, "Wait, what if they just check the actual records? Can't they just ask for that stuff from the Principal?"

"I thought of that," your bro says, never letting his smile waiver, "and thankfully, every system in the school is connected to the same Wi-Fi signal. So I can edit the real records and the copy."

You nod along to the plan, hands going into your pockets, "So, where do I come in in all this?"

"Simple, you just stand here outside the door."

"....That's it?"

"Yep," he reaches into his pocket and hands you something. It looks like an earpiece that you would see in those spy movies, "Put this in your ear. I'll be able to communicate with you in case something goes wrong. Warn me is someone starts to enter the room."

You take the earpiece and put it on. The moment you do, Hisato closes the door and locks it behind him.

Well, looks like you'll be here for a bit.

You crack your neck and start to get to work. First things first, squats.

You place your hands behind your head, move your legs apart, and start. You plan to go for about 10 sets of 20. That should kill a good amount of time.

As you exercise, you let your thoughts wander. Specifically to your life in general.

The first thing that crosses your mind is, well your training. Even you have to admit, you train a lot. Way more than the average person. Almost every spec of freetime you have is spent improving yourself physically in one way or the other.

Why is that?

Why are you trying to become so strong?

Is there even a reason for it, or is it just something that you do without thinking?

You've already finished your 10 sets, but you still don't have an answer.

Alright, 10 sets of 20 push ups next. You fall to the ground, hands on the cold tiled floor of the school. You start to exercise. Plenty of thoughts race through your head. Some about your grades, about your permanent record, even about the annual competition coming up. But that first thought keeps resurfacing in your mind.

Is it for your mother? To protect her? Or to make her proud of you? You've never known her to be disappointed in you.

Is it for Hisato or Takashi? So they don't see you as a weakling?

Or is it for yourself? Just to see how far you can go? To see how strong you can become?

Your 10 sets go by much too quickly.

Next cardio. 10 sets of 20 jumping jacks.

You've hardly even winded yourself, by the time you're half way done. However

>You have an answer to that question in your head.

>You still don't have answer at to why you train.

>You figure it doesn't matter why you're training, and push the thought to the back of your mind.

Alright, time be the best distraction you can be.

You place your hands across your chest, plant your feet, and stand in front of the door staring at the wall. You tap the bead in your ear quickly so as not to alert either of the girls.

They finally get close enough to spot you, and stop a few feet away.

They stare at you for a good minute before Chie says, "Nakai, what are you doing?" A frown crosses her face, which means your ruse is working.

"Nothing Chie, just standing here," you hope that Hisato heard you and is hurrying the fuck up.

Miso looks between the two of you, eyes wide and smile bright, "Oh, Nakai-san! You know Sakurada-senpai?"

Miso giggles, walking to stand in between you and Chie as you give each other death glares, "Nakai-san has been over my house a few times. I remember that time when we played ball and he threw it so hard that Hisato had to call for a ten minute break to get his breath back."

"That was more of an accident than anything else," you say pressing your back against the door some more. What's taking Hisato so long?

"Fun story, but shouldn't you be getting to class Nakai," Chie says with smugness in her voice, "The bell rung ten minutes ago."

You feel Chie's gaze on your back all the way until you round the corner. Once you do, you tap your earpiece to get ahold of Hisato, "Bro, you there? I ditched Chie. Did you do it?"

"Hell yeah," is the answer on the other side of the communication device, "Everything went off without a hitch. I'll meet up with you after our next class and tell ya about the data I got from our test earlier. See ya bro."

"See ya," you put your hand down and start walking forward.

The punch connects with your chest and...doesn't even hurt.

You stand there looking down at Masuda, as her eyes widen in surprise. Then she scowls and looks away from you, "You skipped my class you fucker!" You notice that she seems to be nursing her fist. Did hitting you hurt that much, "Report to the Principal Office! Right the fuck now!"

Ooooh great.

Just what you needed.

A trip to the "Grim Reaper's" Office.

Though your reputation is nothing to scoff at, the Principal's makes yours look like a joke.

The rumors about him run the gamut.

Some say that he once took on an entire nation's army by himself....and won.

Some say he was apart of a secret government program to create a super soldier to defeat Japan's enemies.

There's even a rumor that he's married to a Demon Queen and is the only thing stopping her from destroying the world.

However, there is one thing that you are 100% sure about.

Kei Kazuma knows who he is.

And he says to stay as far away from him as possible.

And now you're going to meet him face to face.

Fantastic.

>TO BE CONTINUED

And that's the end for today everyone!

Tune in tomorrow for the next update at 2:30 PM!

I'll be on until 7:00 PM CST for criticisms and questions.

Have a good night!

Masuda leads you on your way to the Princpal's office. You told her you know where it is, but it seems like she's shut you out for whatever reason. She's still nursing her fist with one hand as you go.

When you pass by a few of the other students you get mixed reactions. The ones who probably know where you're going give you sneers and drag their thumbs across their necks. Bastards think this won't be them at some point.

A couple minutes later and you find yourself outside the office of the Grim Reaper himself. How do you know that?

Well, outside of the fact that his name is above the door, there are three other kids sitting down waiting for their turn inside. They each glance up at you as you get closer, but go right back to brooding afterwards.

Masuda turns around and points a finger at you, "Wait here and don't leave! You'll be in more trouble if you do!"

If what you've heard is true, you doubt you *could* get away. Masuda stomps into the office, leaving you alone with the other students called here.

Well, might as well get comfortable. There are a few chairs around the place. Which one do you sit in?

>A chair next to no one, so you can be alone.

>The one next to some guy with wild blue hair. He's picking his teeth with a finger.

You just can't seem to choose. You want to be able to sit alone so no one bothers you, but that guy with the blue hair is interesting. So the one with the red hair, just what is he fiddling with? And then there's the girl, she doesn't seem like she belongs here. But looks can be deceiving.

Hold on, they're all in chairs right?

...Ok this should work.

You walk over to the blue haired guy first. He stares up at you with a scowl, "What the fuck do you—hey what are you?" you ignore his cries as you pick up his chair by the leg with one hand.

Then you walk over to the guy with the red hair, you grab his chair by the leg and lift him up in your other hand. Then you head over to where the girl is, after kicking the chairs out of the way, you set the two guys down on either side of her.

Then you take a seat across from all three of them.

There, now you can talk to them at your leisure.

>Start with the blue haired guy. He's grinding his teeth at you.

The dude's face seems to be etched in a permanent smile. Which creeps you out, because you're not sure why he would smile after being carried like a sack of potatoes by some random asshole.

You point at him with a finger, "You, what's your name?"

He tilts his head to the side, still smiling, "I'm Kenji. Kenji Mataya," he's still fiddling with that thing in his hand. You can't quite get a good look at it from here, "And you must be Nakai Youma."

>"What's that thing your hands?"
>Is it a butterfly knife? I love those things!

Your kind of lying here. You know what butterfly knives are, a few of them have been pulled on you from time to time, but you've never actually used or bought one. You've always preferred your fist over any bladed weapons.

However, Kenji obviously doesn't know that, because he pulls out exactly what you expected him to from his sleeves. He smiles after flashing the weapon for a bit, "Color me surprised. I didn't expect you to know what this was. Guess you can't judge every book by it's cover."

He's about to continue when the blue haired guy stands yells out, "Wait a minute...that's Nakai Youma! The Legend himself!" The guy stands looking at you for a few minutes. Then he places a hand on his face and starts to laugh like a hyena, "You must be joking!"

One thing you've learned over the course of staying at Maeda is this: people love it when you give them a reaction.

It means you acknowledge them, and are giving them the respect they believe they deserve.

If you don't give them a reaction, it's the equivalent of saying, "Bitch you ain't worth my time."

Which is why you choose to ignore the asshole rather than give him the time of day. As expected the guy gets even angrier, "Hey! I'm talking to you! Don't ignore me!"

"So, what's you're story?" you say look over at the girl who has yet to say anything.

She looks over at you and smile's while waving her hand, "Oh, I'm here because of a little...incident I might or might not have had a hand in causing." Her eyes flash over at Kenji, who has does react to it.

You're about to keep talking, when the asshole with the blue hair jumps back and charges at you, "I'll teach you for ignoring me!"

He's almost upon you....when he gets punch in the jaw so hard he goes flying back towards the opposite wall.

You nod to the man, then stand up from you chair. You give a small wave to Kenji and the girl before you enter the room. The man who stopped that other asshole walks in behind you and closes the door.

The place looks a lot like pic related with one major difference.

There are...heads all over the walls. Not just any heads, but the heads of...things. Not normal animals, that's for sure. Instead these heads all look supernatural in nature. You even see one that looks like that spider demon you fought last night.

Masuda is sitting in one of the sofas, a glass of ice water in her hands. Behind her looking out a window, stand who you can only guess is the principal.

He speaks in a gruff yet firm voice, "Thank you for bringing him in Vice Principal Ochiai. Was there any trouble?"

You take the offer, sitting down in the chair opposite the sofa. Masuda stares at you as you do. You slightly sink into the fabric of the seat. It's pretty comfy all things considered.

The Grim Reaper finally turns around, allowing you to see his face. It's scarred, heavily scarred. You're not sure where the tissue ends and the real skin begins. One of his eyes is either missing or wounded, either way it doesn't look natural. He has the look of man who has seen a lot, and is still here after it.

He sits down in the middle seat of the sofa, "Masuda, you can leave now."

You expect Masuda to argue, but instead she just obeys. She takes the ice water with her, while walking towards the door, Ochiai following after her.

Once they leave, silence comes over the room. The tension rises as you both just sit there, staring at each other.

You're not sure if you should say something or not.

You're about to break the silence, when suddenly your hairs stand on end.

There's someone else here.

You scan the room, focusing on any detail that seems out of place. You can't find them, but you know they're there.

The Principal's eyebrow quirks up at your actions, then he smiles, "You can sense him can you? Good job. Jonathan! Come on out!"

Suddenly, from over by the window, a man just materializes out of thin air. He's decked out in what can only be military grade gear, with an eyepatch covering one of his eyes. One of his arms is unusually red and holding a silenced pistol.

He steps out into the light and speaks in a heavily accented Japanese, "I thought you could use some help, so I decided to stick around. Didn't expected the kid to be able to sense me though. I'll have to make a note of that," his gaze flicks over to you, and you get the feeling you've just been sized up and put into a category.

The Principal looks over at the newcomer, "This is conversation between me and Nakai-san. Please leave."

Jonathan stands there for some more time, before nodding and walking out the door. You hear it close with a clicking sound.

"So, Nakai-san," the Principal says drawing your attention back to him, "Masada-chan told me that you skipped her class? Mind telling me why?"

"Yes, it was," you say without hesitation. You were helping out Hisato. That's the only real excuse you need to skip class.

I've been told to keep an eye on you by some...concerned people."

Power Thirst would also have been acceptable. Rocket edition.

At the end of the day, he is still a school principal anon.
There are lots of bad kids of course, but we do have normal students.
It's supposed to be a slap in the wrist.

>"None." Stand up and shake his hand.

You grab his calloused hand and shake as hard as you can. To your surprise, he's not only able to keep up with you, but he actually puts out more force than you can. He smile at you once the shake ends and pats your back while you walk out.

You start drinking more water once you are out the door. You hear the Principal say, "Oh and one more think Nakai-san. Tell your mother, Midori-chan, that I hope she's doing well."

The door closes behind you as soon as he's finished. You stand outside, a bit stunned, before walking towards Masuda's classroom on autopilot. All the classes have ended for the day, which means it's time for after school. So you have a classroom to go clean.

However, that revelation has hit you hard. You knew your Principal knew your mother's name, it's one of the things schools keep track of.

But by the sound of it, he knew her *personally*.

What could that mean?

Your thoughts are interrupted when you come to the door to Masuda's classroom and open it up.

It's...actually not as dirty as you thought was going to be. Still though, it's gonna be annoying to clean.

You sigh, take out a cigarette, and light it up. Thankfully, someone has left a broom for you in the middle of the classroom.

You're about to get to work, when your earpiece chimes up. You tap it, "Yo, Hisato. What's up?"

What the hell happened to this class?

"Dude! Where the fuck are you?!" his voice sounds panicked, making you stop sweeping for a bit.

"I'm in Masuda's classroom. Have to clean it as punishment for missing class. Why? Is something wrong?!"

"Fuck yeah something's wrong!" you hear the sound of a chair hitting a wall and rapid footsteps from the earpiece, "I'm in deep shit man!"

"What's going on?"

"Brando's after me!" that's the last thing you hear before the sound of a chair hitting flesh makes the earpiece cut out.

Fuck.

>TO BE CONTINUED

And that's the end for today everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed! I would say I'll see you all on Wednesday at 2:30 PM. Not sure if I'll be able to do Thursday this time, because my classes start back on Monday!

I'll be on until 7:00 PM CST for Q&A and Criticism.

Have a goodnight!

How do you feel about the direction anons are taking the MC since he doesn't feel like a delinquent at all any more?
>>
>>1783089
The hell are you on about?
Being a delinquent doesn't mean becoming a wild dog against every single thing.
>>
>>1783089
Hey anon can you give me some of that salt for my fries?
>>
>>1783094
Name two times we actually acted like a delinquent. Or even did something people consider bad.
>>
>>1783084
Have you read Kengan Asura i feel like some characters would fit good into this quest
>>
>>1783089

I'm fine with.

My Modus Operandi as a QM is this: Follow the Votes.

I will never try and force my players down a specific direction, just because I want to. It is my job to create the world, give it characters, give it interesting things to do, allow the players to roam around in it, and have things respond to their choices accordingly.

Wherever the majority votes go I follow.

Talking back to your teacher when you broke the chalkboard during the gauntlet test, and helping Hisato hack into and change the school records.
>>
>>1783103
We broke into the disciplinary office to change records, cutting class while doing so. Also shook down some thugs for cigs and money.
>>

Dude, try to comprehend what you are reading.
We stole smokes, we beat up a lot of other delinquents, beat up yakuza, beat up monsters.
Shit, it's all there, have you even voted for anything?
Presented arguments as to why x choice would be good?
