Funtron is a Lego board game where you take command of a motley crew of space adventurers and explore an abandoned outpost on an alien planet.

You, the reader, post commands for the characters. In turn, I will execute your commands and post images and descriptions of what happens.

Previous threads are archived here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Funtron%20Space%20Adventure

The most recent thread is still accessible here: >>1750909

I'll begin by carrying out a few orders from the last thread.

You are in r32 at the security terminal, where Whitworth has just discovered the program to unlock r29, security camera feeds so that you can watch what's happening elsewhere while holed up in the terminal room, and access to Space Google.

Whitworth has 2 HP; Joy and Penkala each have 1 HP. You have 2 doses of medicine for healing.

Joy is equipped with two lightsabers, two rifles, and a purple bottle of something. Penkala is equipped with her flamethrower and a brick separator. Whitworth is equipped with two blasters.

Teddy and the Rough Rider Mark 2 are equipped with a cannon arm, a shield, and a sensor pod. He is in r14.

Your force of robots in r33 consists of the robot commander, a laser cannon bot, an armored bot, and two drones.

Your enemies consist of two plantmen-possessed skeletons and the Unit 01 and Unit 02 mechs.

Your goal is find a way to escape Carpos Station.

Up north, Teddy tries to shake off the plantman clinging to his power armor, just out of reach of his hand He buzzes Penkala over the communicator and asks if she built any lasers or jetpacks or anything useful at all into the sensor pod on his shoulder.

P: "I don't recall installing any of those features, but they sound incredibly unsafe, so...probably."

Teddy hits a few buttons in the cockpit of the Rough Rider and the sensor pod rockets off into the air!

Back at the terminal, Whitworth manages to override the last remaining security protocols. A pair of cameras activate, one for r29 and the other for r31.

You check out the feed for r31 first, and just as you hoped, it's the long awaited second landing pad! There's even a shuttle docked there, presumably the Pars Stercoris that the asset inventory listed. It looks flight-worthy—more flightworthy than the Capsula Cinerea looked last time you saw it, anyway. This could be your ticket out of here! You just need to make it past the plantmen.

With this, we enter into what will probably be the final chapter of Funtron. I'm going to be fairly busy tomorrow, and totally unavailable Sunday and Monday, but I'll try to update this as able, including later tonight. As always, a big thanks to everyone who's participated in Funtron so far! The conclusion to this long adventure is just around the corner.

We have some weeds to burn, so heal Penkala because she needs to get a little closer, while Joy can shoot from afar. And Teddy can't go into r28, just to small for him. Instead, aim through the r28 again, but this time be aware of flanking plantmen, and deploy sensor pod near the farm door invisible from the roon, so it can watch whoever and whatever exits and, maybe it will be able to amush, and at least distract and slow them down, so Teddy could react.

Next up, you look for flammable things in r34. There are several wooden crates, but those are currently in use as a barricade. You also find a flask of something purple sticking out of Joy's pack and swipe it when her back is turned.

The sinister concoction is incredibly viscous and you're not certain just what it might be. Poison? Medicine? Pesticide? Someone's decade old grape Fanta? You spill a drop on the ground and graze it with your flamethrower. Whatever it is, it does burn.

You give Bertilak's head a good bonkle and pin it to the ground with the terminal. It's still twitching around, but you should be safe from acid now that its head is down. What's it going to do, drool on the floor?

————————

Bertilak made it through the door before Whitworth would have made it to the terminal, so that part of the orders didn't go through.

Also, we're on page 10 now, so this thread will soon be closed. I'll do as much as I can while this thread is still up, but when it gets archived, I'll start and announce round 7.

>Joy: go, grab a heavy lazer, then return to the corridor, try to make it to the corner where the door to r35 is before bertillak, and prepare to shoot.
>Teddy: punch bertillak in his head a couple time if possible, then escape from the Rough Rider and run as fast as possible to meet with others
>Withworth: cover Teddy with a couple of shots while he passes the door to r30, so the guns of Pars Stercoris won't kill Teddy. And try to not sticking out to much, to not get hurt as well.
>Penkala: take a couple steps back from the burning plants, just in case something will jump into your face. And keep up the heat.

Since Bertilak seems mostly unharmed by the brawn of Teddy's bear arms, you decide you need another massive energy weapon to finish the job. Fortunately, you know just where to find one. Tempted by the prospect of rare loot, Joy volunteers herself to retrieve it.

However, before you can make it back to your friends, you must find a way past the cannons of the Pars Stercoris. Whitworth stands at the ready on the other side of the opening. What sort of clever strategy will you need to employ to cross the gap? Perhaps Whitworth could fire a shot into r30, baiting the Pars Stercoris into attacking prematurely, or he could throw one of the blasters in as bait, or he could shield you with his body, since he's got 2 HP and you've only got 1, or maybe—

I'll leave it here for this thread, since we're nearing the bottom of page 10. Funtron will conclude in Round 7, later tonight if all goes according to plan. A link will be posted in /lg/ at that time. As always, post your orders here and I'll carry out as many of them as possible when I begin Round 7. Thanks again to everyone who's played, and I hope you'll drop by the next thread for the finale!

The engine bursts into flames, and Joy tumbles across the metal flooring, stricken by the laser blast. The Pars Stercoris is grounded for a little longer, at least until the you or the plantman can douse the fire, but Joy is too wounded to move. It's down to Whitworth, Penkala, and Teddy.

You quickly shut the doors before the plantman can take another shot. These doors should be able to withstand a laser cannon.

Whitworth drags Joy off to the side. She's badly hurt, but still breathing.

J: "Wh...Whitworth..."

W: "Joy?"

J: "If I die...Whitworth..."

W: "Yes?"

J: "...the things...in my bag...I want you to..."

W: "Wait, I get all your stuff?"

J: "...I want you to...burn it all. I'm taking it all with me."

With those words, she nods off into unconsciousness. She'll be alright, you think, as long as you get her to Dr. Quis back on the Non Apparens, but as always, that's easier said than done.

Penkala motions for Whitworth to be quiet. She hears something from r31. It sounds like footsteps coming down the landing ramp...

At long last, the plant monsters of Carpos Station have all been vanquished. After all these years, you hope the spirits of the fallen researchers can rest a little easier now—a couple of them even got a free cremation out of this.

You quickly douse the fire burning on the Pars Stercoris's engine before it can do any major damage. The shuttle seems in good shape, and it's even been refueled in advance! The radial charge incapacitator is working fine too—you shouldn't have any issues flying out of here.

You do a quick check of the Pars Stercoris. The fire doesn't seem to have damaged the engine too badly, and Penkala handily mends anything that was knocked loose in the fight. You also find three doses of medicine in the hold, just enough to bring Joy back to full consciousness. She groans, blinks a few times, and whispers: "Someone...someone needs to go back to the other landing pad and get our loot."

You oblige her.

You haul the killbot wreckage over as well. As the newest crew member of the Non Apparens, Teddy's going to need some sort of weapon, after all. You take a net and some chains and tie it to the roof of the Pars Stercoris. It wobble a little and makes it hard to shut the back hatch, but you're totally sure it's fine. 100% space-safe.

Speaking of safe, you make sure to inspect yourselves and your equipment for Bertilak contamination before you leave. Fortunately, you've all spent so much time lighting everything around you on fire that even if Bertilak had tried hitching a ride on you, it probably would have been torched off by now.

Just in case, though, you're burning all your clothes once you get back to the Non Apparens.

Whitworth and Penkala have double-sided heads, so I had two expressions by default for them, which I just rotated their heads for. However, their faces are fairly unique so there weren't any similar heads I could also use. For Joy, I used a more generic head, so I had access to a lot more similar faces with various expressions, like the ones in the picture.
