The Raiders – Part 28

An hour of meditation. That's all it takes. One hour and you feel as though you've slept ten and you've gathered the arcane force about you once more, all your spells are as easily refreshed as if you've slept and studied and meditated upon them once more.

Truly a monster.

That being said, the others have been less than idle, transporting the slaves and property from the Stronghold to the Lair. Yzia has assisted them in your stead while you remained with Yashi and Kteine. There was one interruption; Galtoso and Isedama delivered their were-gild to you: three bodyweight of Deep Crystal, three bodyweight in Void-glass, and twenty hand-weight in fine jewels, gems, and jewelry. Despite the short interruption you were able to continue the meditation as though you had not been interrupted at all. If they had taken more of your attention for longer, it might have been a problem, but as it stands, you make another imaginary note in your non-existent journal of self discovery to that effect.

Rising you see that the young gish and the ancient illusionist have built slave quarters, magic and the psychic disciplines combining to fabricate walls of stone and illusion, provide bedding and arrange for food, water, and latrines for them and the Cadre they are part of. They have also lightly furnished the cells, telekinesis and more apparent conjuration allowing them to do so without bypassing the Wall of Force you used to close the cells. They will need time to rest and recover, but that is all right. You don't need anyone knowing how quickly you can recover magics and power.

It does cost you to do so; the Elder Power can sustain you in that manner for a number of days if you conserve it, and that is something to be wary of perhaps.

[] Time to distract Kteine as you urged Yashi not to.
[] Yashi has been exceptionally imaginative in her sendings; time to indulge her.
[] Best to collect on some other debts that you are owed.
[] You should alter your spell list slightly, perhaps. Suggestions must be made for this choice.
[] You need to collect a specific debt so that your mindbroken wizard-slave doesn't become an issue.
[] Write in?
Siobhan thinks that preventing your lovely slave Mayune from gaining her full magical strength once more would be wisest.

Akko, like all her kind, has a measure of psychic ability. She will simply use most of these powers without prompting, instinctively, when appropriate. Her spells are another matter.
>She is a high ranking Gish, and may give orders to low ranking Knights; mid-ranked Warriors; high ranking Spellcasters, Skulkers, and Murderers; and any Gish lower ranked than herself.

Siobhan offers her opinions and advice on matters when a vote is called for, drawing on Akko's potent intellect and voicing subconscious thoughts for her to consider.
>Current Spell Selection
Slaver Set Enhanced (Marauder) – heavy subdual and mass combat, moderate utility, moderate defense/buffs + a few really destructive spells.

May as well get that over with, though if it's possible to wean her into still serving us while being more lucid, that'd also be nice.

You find Yashi sitting and preparing yet another Permanency, this one from a scroll. You wait until she can concentrate on what you are saying, and you also broadcast your words to Kteine as she places finishing touches on a more permanent residence for your cadre to stay. Falna's tent is nice, but it does belong to Falna. “I will return shortly; I need to collect a few things from someone who owes me a favor. One of my slaves is a potent spellcaster, and needs to be tightly controlled.”

Mayune, was her name, wasn't it? Kteine's image of her is fairly precise. Yashi's is perfect, and includes glimpses of her mentality and impressions of the brokenness of her mind as well.

“Yes. I would rather not have someone who has achieved Seventh and Eighth Order spells deciding she needs revenge on me wandering about unsupervised, spellbooks or not.” Yashi glances up at you, slightly amused at the idea of you being concerned by such a creature. “Powerful I may be, invincible I am not.”

Kteine seems to doubt that, her acceptance of your leaving coated in dubiousness. Yashi gives you a speculative look, and you lean close, sliding a hand through her short, wild hair. “I would reconsider that thought if I were you, Yashi.” You kiss her, slow and deep and she hums into our mouth, capitulating for the moment. A long moment, you hope.

Leaving by way of the stairs, you make your way quickly through the Lair, studying not merely the layout of the Lair, but also what cadres are where and how powerful and what they consist of. It doesn't take you terribly long to locate the cadre you are looking for. Kisyet, like yourself, has chosen a highly defensible position in the lair, though you wouldn't have chosen something with so few escape routes. She is directing the erection of cages by a small group of slaves, while most of her cadre is fortifying the position and arranging their own campsite.

As much as you might like to annoy Kisyet, it is not she you are here to see; Azrath and Dannae are off to the side, Azrath in her slender albino form, and Dannae dressed in her crimson and gold tunic and trousers still. Her ruby staff is across her legs as she sits on a shelf of stone, while Azrath is cured up behind her, braiding her hair into tight rows and fastening them with beads and jewels. Gish Akko, a pleasure to see you once again. Kisyet is busy at the moment, I fear.

[XX] I'm not really here to distress her, though I could speak to her....
[X] Spellcaster Dannae, such a lovely sight you two make....a moment of your time?

You approach the spellcaster with a knowing smile, and gesture towards the campsite they are clearly not concerning themselves with. “I did see; I am not here to cause her any distress, though I have little doubt she would find my presence distressing.” Dannae inclines her head, a wry smile crossing her lips as she acknowledges your point. “While I have no issues with speaking to her and am willing to do so, I have actually come to speak to you, if you can spare me the time.” Azrath lifts here eyes, studying you rather intently before relaxing as she sees you appear to mean her companion no harm.

I trust it is a matter of little import; your reputation is quite something, especially after the matter of the knight and his cadre. You smile winsomely at the fair spellcaster while Azrath continues her painstaking efforts to make tight cornrows of her hair. I can always spare a little time for you, Akko; my Leader owes you much, and I believe I owe you a favor at the very least. Azrath gives you a stern look at that.

Please do not trouble my companion with overmuch, Lady Akko. Though she seems well, there is a strain upon her. I trust in your forbearance. you try and hide the fact that Azrath is speaking to you privately, but Dannae is possessed of an unwholesomely keen awareness. You incline your head to Azrath, as trying to hide the fact seems useless enough, but of greater import to you is the fact that Azrath is genuinely concerned for her companion's well being.

Interestingly, Dannae choses not to call you out on it; you're fairly certain she is perfectly aware of the dragon's concern. “It is a matter of no great import, to be honest. I was hoping that the favor you extended to me would be enough to consider the loan of a specific and potent slave-keeping tool.” Dannae looks very interested in that, and Azrath slides her fingers through the spellcaster's hair, which seems to remind her to relax.

[] Politely ask Dannae about her health.
[] Ask about Mage-chains or Spellbinding manacles.
[] Reassure Azrath privately you will do her companion no harm on purpose as yet.
[] See if Azrath will be more forthcoming on the matter of Dannae's strain.

I'm surprised that she hasn't gotten this fixed up with someone more healing-inclined yet. Are these less serious injuries that don't warrant the attention on a raid, or? Or perhaps it can only be relieved but not cured despite the powerful magic available in this setting?
>>
>>1797651
Remember, clerics and other healers are an extreme rarity among githyanki. Almost all their magic is arcane in nature. Most githyanki health issues aren't apparent in the Astral.

>[] See if Azrath will be more forthcoming on the matter of Dannae's strain.

[X] See if Azrath will be more forthcoming on the matter of Dannae's strain.
[X] Ask about Mage-chains or Spellbinding manacles.
[XX] Offer the services of an expert courtesan to them – Rana might be able to help Dannae.

You rest your arms on the rock shelf Dannae is seated upon, leaning against it casually and making yourself seem like less of a threat. The simple attempt seems to reassure the dragon somewhat, which is good; irritable dragons are certainly bad news all around. “I find myself in need of something I would not ordinarily require the use of. Given that we are after hostages and young elvenkind, rather than humans and their ilk, I have no need of spell-bindings or mage-chains for the captured slaves. However, we one of my personal slaves is a potent spellcaster, and I have need of her services here – but not for spellcasting.”

Dannae nods slowly, her golden eyes studying the blade at your side. She's not using magic, only her natural sight – unless she too is using spells to conceal her magics. “Would you like to hold her? She seems to like you well enough.” Your offer makes the golden eyes brighten significantly. Azrath makes a soft clucking sound and both you and Dannae look at her in confusion, not recognizing the noise.

The albino female frowns. “You should not be playing with your magics just now, Dannae. You need to be calm.”

If you could tell me a little more, I might be able to provide some assistance, Azrath.

I am not prepared to gainsay my companion so boldly just yet. If she does not strain herself she will be fine.

You would have me play the invalid, Azrath; I don't care much for it. You can't help but grin. If you were ill or sick, you're certain that Yzia would be bullying you just as much, if not more. I doubt that Lady Siobhan would do me harm a-purpose. I am not that weak willed, much as you might feel otherwise.

“If it is a matter of your health, perhaps I can offer you the services of an expert courtesan? She is quite the adept, and sweetly charming. More importantly, she is a very capable healer and masseuse.” That gets Azrath's attention immediately, while Dannae is a bit more suspicious. “Mind you she belongs to Yzia, so it will not be without some cost, but I think I can persuade her to part with her new toy for a few hours before we cause havoc.”
>>
Dannae relaxes a little – you do not have a reputation for generosity. I would not mind the assistance. I suspect that deep tissue massage would be of help to me. Heart then, as Siobhan suspected. Neither is a redundant organ – they service different sections of the body. One of the disadvantages of not being particularly mammalian. I believe this is what you might be after, though. If it is a loan, then may we consider the favor fulfilled? It will prevent all but the simpler magics – nothing more potent than Second Order magics could be cast through it.

You take the iron bracelet with gold runes from Dannae, and study it. A very intricate locking mechanism, very difficult to find, and a sturdy object in and of itself. It makes your skin crawl just touching it as it reacts to the arcane force you have layered within your aura. “Oh yes, this would be ideal. You may certainly consider the favor repaid in full. When I take her back to the Astral, you will have this back. “

[] So, what may I tell Yzia you are offering...?
[] As for payment, we may discuss it later. I'll bring Rana over when she arrives.
[] Oh, what was it that Kisyet shouldn't be talked to about that you were hinting at before?

[X] ….I could possibly manage something more permanent a fix – but it would cost you dear, as the techniques are secret and possible forbidden.
[X] As for payment, we may discuss it later. I'll bring Rana over when she arrives.

You study the wizard for a moment as you slip the potent, cruel shackle into a belt pouch, and then stand up slowly. “May I?” She looks at you, a little bemused, and you take her staff to carefully set it aside. She obligingly parts her legs to let you stand between them, and you rather wish that it was a far less serious reason that you did so. Greedy, Akko, so greedy. You ignore her complain and close your eyes, sliding your hands under Dannae's tunic and tapping into Siobhan's consciousness, utilizing the skills she has to educate yourself on the wizard's condition.

You run your hands up Dannae's belly, your thumbs pressed along either side of the centerline of her body. You don't feel what you are looking for there, so you slide your hands around her chest, before you reach her breasts, lovely as they may be to the touch. Along her upper back you find exactly what you fear; the muscles are warmer, far warmer than they should be in the cavern's cool air. You trace down, feeling the soft pulsation of her blood vessels as they work, drawing in and pushing out the oily lymph of her blood. The pulses are hard, much harder than they should be, the muscled walls of the veins and arteries working much harder than would be necessary if her heart was doing it's work properly.

Dannae endures the sensation stoically, but you can feel the tensing of her body as you work the lymph back into her thick muscles. You open your eyes as you draw back a little, resting your hands on her knees. Azrath looks at you expressionlessly, but you can see in her eyes that she knows the situation is bad. Without serious assistance or magical enhancement, she will tire very quickly and be in a great deal of pain as well. The powerful flesh of your species burns through energy quickly and both hearts are necessary to keep the muscles from burning the wrong elements and chemicals for fuel. In a raid she would be hard pressed to last long.

“We can discuss payment for services rendered when I bring Rana for you to enjoy. She will be able to ease your aches and pains with great skill. I believe you will enjoy it immensely.” you smile but the smile doesn't reach your eyes. Dannae, your heart isn't going to last out the month during a raid even with stamina increasing spells or body-fortifying magics. This needs serious tending to, tending that would make you worthless to a raid.... you include Azrath – she needs to know as well. Siobhan is interested in what you're going to do with this knowledge and sings to you curiously.
>>
It is more than obligations and oaths, Akko. I can't afford to be idle. The means it literally – she is deeply in wealth-debt to others, and there will be those who call upon their debts when she returns from the raid. Azrath glances at you, and frowns faintly, but you give her a slight shake of your head, which Dannae ignores once more. It would be one thing if those I was indebted to were reasonable, but most of them are not. Kisyet was kind enough to me to accept my request, and I will owe her a great deal for that,, and you can imagine how long she'll keep that debt.

Oh, easily decades. I have little doubt she's done it partly to protect you from the others you owe as well, but she is, at heart, a coward. When they press, she will be unable to withstand them for long. Dannae frowns, but acknowledges the truth of it. Azrath, would you be willing to give me a hand-weight in diamonds to heal Dannae completely?

That's impossible Akko. You are no heretic-knight nor a bargain-holder. She's right of course, you're no witch any more than you are one of those perverse knights who chose to work in favor of the community instead of serving Her Majesty directly.

Hush, Azrath. Akko, what would you do with such a fortune? You're not capable of granting wishes. You look at her and shrug mildly. She frowns and looks consternated. Are you claiming that you can?

I am saying that I can heal you, permanently, and that the methods are both secret and dangerous. They will work.

I attest that Akko can do this thing, and will do this thing. You admonish her for speaking so boldly of 'will do' but Siobhan stands by her words and feelings.

I am indebted so badly that I could lose my freedom, Akko; there is no way that I could even begin to repay such a-

How soon? Azrath quells Dannae's protest by placing her hands on the wizard's shoulders. Dannae looks uncomfortable, but says no more. How soon could it be done? You just need the privacy and the diamonds, of course, but whether or not you want to give them time to think it over is another matter. Siobhan croons softly in your mind, eager to gain more allies to escape with.

[] ….now, if we can find privacy.
[] In a few hours, before the raid begins in earnest.
[] A few days to prepare, I think.

[XX] ….now, if we can find privacy.
[X] Tell Kisyet you'll be returning in an hour or so and come with me.

You hold out your hand to Azrath and she stares at you. She nods slowly and Dannae reaches into a pocket of her belt and pulls out a small leather pouch. You open it and spill a fortune in diamond into your hand, studying them carefully before returnign them to the pouch. All we need is privacy. Dannae pints to your left and you glance at the shadows; very faintly you can see the tracery of a doorway in the rock, your arcane Sight showing where it lies. From the angle you approached and where you stand, you couldn't see it unless it was pointed out to you. You recognize the spell instantly of course – a Mage's Magnificent Mansion. We should be done within the hour, if you wish to inform Kisyet that you will return in that time.

You step back and take Dannae's staff, returning it to her when she slides off the rock and onto her feet. You can see the movement pains her; she was undoubtedly planning on using necromantic power to obviate the pain and restore some measure of her vitality. If all goes well, you will be able to grant her something far more permanent. Azrath walks behind you, and you can nearly feel the threat she represents if you should harm her companion. You politely ignore the unvoiced threat; it isn't really that much of one any more.

Dannae leads you into the palatial hall, designed much like your own Cell at home combined with your laboratory; pillows, books, food and drink services, shelves of components and crystal and metal. You can see the faint traceries of Unseen Servants, your Arcane Sight allowing you to perceive them easily in this alien space. You unbraid one of the sapphires from your hair and s\study it as Dannae makes herself comfortable on a cushion. “Tunic off please,” you murmur casually, and Dannae immediately complies. “You may want to lie down. I would rather not misjudge your body's positioning.”

Dannae curiously does so, and you walk over, looking down at her calmly. “What you witness here is forbidden to speak of. I do this for my own purposes, though you will benefit from it immensely. You will owe me a great debt, but I have no need of material or matériel. If I need to call this debt in, it will be because I have need of your services, and possibly those of Azrath.”

“What makes you think that you would not be subject to blackmail or to a reversal of the debt, telling us these things.” You look at Azrath calmly, and then Draw Siobhan slowly, in the most nonthreatening manner you can manage. She looks at the blade, confused, and Dannae drinks in the sight greedily.
>>
>>1797709
>[] ….now, if we can find privacy.
>[] Tell Kisyet you'll be returning in an hour or so and come with me.

>"You can tell Kisyet this is part of what you owe me. It'll be true, in a way."
>>
It doesn't take her long to see it, of course; as you suspected, a Nondetection effect to hide the magical vision she possesses. You CREATED her? How could you do that!? No Master Smith would be allowed their freedom! You sheath Siobhan, who gushes liquid laughter at the wizard's shock. What are you?!

There isn't any need to answer, to your thinking; you instead place the sapphire upon her chest, resting it lightly between her firm breasts as you straddle her. Though you are careful not to let your armor pinch or chafe her unpleasantly. “Be still.” You draw upon the Elder Power, letting it flow into your hands, and from them into the sapphire, which immediately bursts into prismatic glimmers within a white-and-black nimbus. Siobhan murmurs to you, singing truth and understanding into your awareness as you feed magic into the gem.

The process is similar to that with which you crafted the periapt that you set into Jiyua's arm, but far faster. You trace the sigils into the sapphire with ease, the magic flowing from you with unnatural ease and impossible speed. What you did unthinkingly before you now do willfully, concentrating your effort and power into the crystal and infusing it with the spells of healing and bodily health you possess. What should take days takes only this one day, and what should take hours takes only a moment. The surface of the sapphire is like water, your magic molding it to your desires even as you draw huge amounts of power from seemingly nowhere.

Azrath can barely look at you, and you take the pouch of diamonds and spill it over the sapphire and the githyanki wizard's chest. She watches in a combination of awe and horror as you perform not one, but three impossible tasks. The third, of course, is to implant the sapphire in place of her damaged heart, the Periapt of Health sliding into her soft flesh and through her bone as you merge it with her body, the diamonds dissolving into a network of magical threads to grant the power of the periapt to her whole body.

You sit back and sigh, the power fading as quickly as it had come, the new found understanding of magic – specifically, how to meld it with objects, how to craft items of power above and beyond weapons and wonders – resting comfortably in your mind. Siobhan purrs warmly, as you sort quickly through the thoughts of what you can now create with ease. Staves, wands, rods, rings, even power stones and dorje, skins of magic, even the most powerful constructs: all of them easily created. Wonders simply that much more so, your persistent and personal crafting of them granting and even deeper insight than to the others.

With a grin you caress Dannae's breasts lightly, looking down at her unscarred chest. Even now her skin is darkening slightly, her circulation improving immediately. “There will be no disease that can harm you now, Dannae. You will not die of a malformed heart either. Nor will you be unable to use another periapt – the one you bear is now part of you.”

Azrath's eyes are glowing as she looks at her companion, and you suspect Siobhan was correct – like Yzia to yourself, she has become more than merely a companion to the wizard.

[] Have her make Oath to you to repay this debt in full one day.
[] Steal a kiss and let her and Azrath enjoy Dannae's new-found health.
[] Ask Azrath if the price was acceptable.
[] Salute your temporary captive and take your leave; the questions will only get awkward.
[] Remind her that what was done was forbidden, and to speak of it will invite disaster.
[] Write in?
Siobhan thinks that they will recognize your supremacy with ease when you chose the time to reveal it.

Almost seems more kind to give them a concrete payment plan to ground this more in Githyanki customs.

[XX] Salute your temporary captive and take your leave; the questions will only get awkward.

[X] Write in? Azrath is a fortunate and loyal companion indeed.

You lean over, and caress the half-braided hair of your temporary captive and victim of your experiment as you give her a soft, delicate kiss. She makes a startled noise and clamps her teeth shut....you open your eyes and glare at her sternly. Dannae looks at you with a steely gaze and you bring your fingers up, pressing against her jaw. Azrath doesn't interfere, for some reason, which you consider something of a surprise, even as you pry the githyanki wizard's jaw open.

The reason she doesn't speak becomes painfully obvious as you deepen the kiss, but you don't let that stop you. She relents, finally and accepts the kiss, and you give her the full measure of it. Only then do you break it, only to reach out and grasp the chain on Azrath's collar and draw her close. The dragon is more willing to accept the kiss, of course, and you speak softly into her mind. She is fortunate to have you, and I sincerely hope that all your feelings are returned as deeply. Another would have left her long ago.

She is mine, Akko, and I will not let others harm her – not even you, regardless of your Power. Meaning the Elder Power of course; the fact that it is not forbidden among dragons makes it easier for her to speak of it.

“Speaking of what I have done would be more dangerous to you than it would be to me. You look down at the angry and thoroughly embarrassed female and smile, saluting her. She returns the salute, her eyes half closed.

I will remember the debt you are owed, but hope it does not come due, she replies as you stand up.

“When it does, I believe you will be willing to pay it. I do not hold the things that others hold dear as important,” you remind her, covering the left side of your face with one hand, reminding her of Tzanzi. She nods slowly, touching her lips, looking a little more mollified by your reassurances. Azrath moves close and you turn, leaving quickly as the speak to each other in silence. You suspect they have no more love for the knights and inquisitors than you do; such a violation would only come from having that sort of perverse need to demonstrate one's power over another. Still her skills and efforts are all the more impressive; she must have mastered a great deal of power the hard way.

Not having a tongue will do that if you are a wizard.

Your return to your Cadre's camp is quick, and you avoid any entanglements on the way. The tent is back, and there are a half dozen slaves other than your own present. They are quickly making themselves of use, and the Sanctum that Yashi created for the camp makes it easy to locate as well as prevent others from coveting the slaves your Cadres actually own. Your trio of slaves have set up a small place for themselves off to one side, as you have trained them.

Their reactions are fascinating; from Mayune's panic, to Cyrillian's curiosity, to Yustuoc's utter confusion at breathing and having a heartbeat once more. You pet them all, and slip the shackle about Mayune's delicate wrist, making her shudder and flush as you warn her that she should be mindful that there is a punishment in store for her already for Rana's amusements with her before. Yustuoc is reminded that if she wishes to be returned to her hell, it can easily be arranged, while Cyrillian simple pays attention to nearly everything. She you merely kiss, and suggestively caress, much to her delight, Yustuoc's disdain, and Mayune's embarrassment.

Then it is on to serious matters.

Kteine and Yashi have both expended much of their energy, magical, psychic, and physical. The others have only Plane Shifted, and their time in the Astral will not have taken much effort, though the camp, heavily fortified as it is not, probably took some effort. So, you could leave Yashi and Kteine....but it might be easier too simply let them have a full rest before going on the full raid. A scouting run against one of the trees is not unthinkable however.

[] Have everyone rest. Besides, you want to spend time with Yzia.
[] Have Kteine and Yashi rest, while the rest of you strike at one of the lesser home trees.
[] Reconnaissance might not be too difficult; you and Yzia do not need the rest the others do.
[] Take some time to yourself, and bathe.
[] Ask Yzia if she would mind if you sent Rana on loan for a few hours in the next few days.
[] Write in?
As much as Siobhan would like to play (in a variety of manners) she thinks you need full rest.

Can we use our new skills to craft jewelry directly on Yzia?

Our dragon as a bejeweled beauty is amazingly hot, no matter the form.

We do want them as more than just decoration. Otherwise we wouldn't have brought them there from the Astral.

[X] Have everyone rest. Besides, you want to spend time with Yzia.
[X] Ask Yzia if she would mind if you sent Rana on loan for a few hours in the next few days.
[X] Write in? Best to ease the slaves into their new roles and situation....

You reach out with your mind, intending on seeing what your Cadre is up to, but Siobhan interrupts you by informing you immediately. Schechei and Kteine are communing with their new blades and one another, coming to some kind of terms. Falna is setting up her household in an area close to but not connected to the living quarters of the Cadre; apparently she has some slaves which require delicate treatment, which undoubtedly takes a lot of effort on her part. Tzanzi is bathing with Yashi, who was well bribed by Falna to make the extra housing, while Auena is meditating nearby; all three are in different sections of the tent. Tzanzi's slaves are putting everything in order in general – they have done this duty many times. Yzia is lazing in the tent as well, and is aware of your return naturally.

My lovely companion, I would like to loan Rana to a....hmn, let me call her an ally in the making for a few hours sometime in the next week. She could use Rana's skills as a healer and masseuse; she is recovering from an illness, and would pay handsomely for the use of her skills. Though it's more likely you will be paying on her behalf. You can think of some way to bribe Yzia, you're fairly certain.

Siobhan is equally certain that Yzia will most definitely enjoy being bribed, if the images she sends you are any indication.

I thought she was your slave now, my treasure, Yzia teases you warmly, amused by your deference to her desire despite you having been the one to both kidnap and collar the ifrit, who is currently serving as a fireplace for the tent, more or less as you understand it.

As far as she is concerned, I am. As far as I am concerned, she is my present to you; you seemed to dote on her so, I thought she might make a rather pleasant mating gift.

Yzia's liquid amusement is both thrilling and a touch embarrassing, if only because of the way she feels adoration towards you. She makes a fine dowry, my love.

I have no idea what that word means, you inform her, along with the knowledge that you'll be joining her in bed shortly. She laughs and is looking forward to seeing you soon. You inform the members of your Cadre that you will want them all rested and prepared for the raid to begin in ten sidereal hours – including Kteine and Schechei.

and hat is it that you will be doing before bed, my beautiful one?

....most likely my slaves, you reply, much to Siobhan's and Yzia's amusement, though you didn't quite mean it that way

>To Be Continued....

Didn't you though, Akko? Didn't you?

Thanks for running! Interesting to see more of other cadres on the raid.
>>
Thank you for reading and playing.

Apologies for not getting to the raiding part this session - anon took a side trip into collecting allies I wasn't quite expecting as much as i should have.

i cannot stay for questions, but I will be able to answer them alter today, as I have work earlier than usual. Two questiosn to be answered right away: Akko has gaine dmythic Tier 5, and her ablities now include the ability to craft any kind of magic item - any of them. She crafts weapons and armor especially quickly, and she can craft most simple Wondrous items almost instantly, and median ones will take merely days instead of weeks and months. she can also craft true mythic Wondrous items, though those take as much time as standard items.
>>
>>1797881
Sounds like an opportunity for anyone more knowledgeable about the ruleset to find the most overpowered items around for us to craft, haha. Although Akko's current gear seems far from modest as it is.
>>
Thanks for running!
>>
>>1797881
Thanks for running! Man, she really is becoming quite a monster. It's pretty interesting that all her mythic feats have been in support of others and/or lewd. Raiding could prove safer.
>>
Thanks for writing, looking forward to next time

Do Akko and Kisyet have history of some sort?

More importantly, did they kiss yet? (Sorry, sorry)
>>
>>1797885
It is as powerful as she can make it, and often combines items into a single unit. She does not like relying on stat boosting items, however. Inherent alterations she is just fine with.

>>1797889
Not only about helping others, but also about magic - how to use it efficiently, how to alter it, how to enhance it, how to imbue it into things more effectively, how to direct it through her body more powerfully. That they help others (and therefore incur debts and favors) is a side effect, not a goal.

>>1797891
They have some history - Kisyet needed help, and Akko provided it, at the cost of a few bodies. Kisyet is paranoid (not entirely without justification).

They have kissed.
>>
>>1798873
>They have kissed.
Well then, clearly she's well-named!
>>
>>1798873
Why won't she use stat boosting items?

Also, how did Azrath become interested in her companion? Has Akko's public display with Yzia changed a few dynamics?
>>
>>1800229
For much the same reason she prefers not to keep her spells in magical books: it is much easier to dispel magical effects than it is to remove someone's actual muscles. She will use spells to boost her stats temporarily if she deems it necessary, but as a certain dragon from a certain comic book pointed out, 'in an antimagic field you are a small monkey, and I am still a dragon.'

One of Akko's secrets is that she is physically stronger than Yzia without the use of magic (inherent bonuses combined with mythic bonuses).

As for Azrath and Dannae....Dannae wanted to learn the tongue of dragons, and Azrath was a quiet, studious little wrym who deigned to teach her. Dannae is something like a pet or a cute little familiar to her. Of course, with healing, the something more becomes a real possibility....
>>
So, just to be sure, all the slaves we have here are still relatively high level, or at least not weak compared to the average raider?
>>
>>1801183
Not even slightly.

There are rare exceptions - Mayune, for instance, is more powerful than most githyanki spellcasters can survive being, and one of Falna's slave is a very skilled bard. By and large most of the slaves that have any class levels at all are 3rd-7th level at best - otherwise they wouldn't be slaves. Most don't even have class levels. Cyrillian, Maayune, and Yustouc are rarities in that they have levels, and Mayune an exceptional rarity in that she's a high level spellcaster and a wizard who has been enslaved and utterly broken.
>>
>>1801720

Uh. So Falna's slaves are more of a liability than anything, and ours would barely be a bump on the opponents' road if we got attacked?
>>
>>1801817
Yes, but they're not really in any danger - remember, property is valuable. Slaves aren't worth bothering withif they're owned, becuase you could call in the nights to deal with the theft of property.

the slaves you don't want stolen are those technically unclaimed ones that you collect during the raid, before the knights or Guild of Procurement takes names, numbers, assigns them, etc. A githyanki killign one of Akkos slaves would have to pay for the slave in question - or face Akko in a duel, or have to worry about her retaliation. Vlaakith frowns on that, it detracts from the war efforts. so the personally owned slaves are pretty much sacrosanct.

Newly collected slaves and ransoms are another matter; until they're catalogued with the Silver Swords and/or guilds they're free game even if you've caught them.
>>
>>1801901
Been out travelling and completely unable to participate, but thanks none the less for running.
>>
>>1801901
Does that mean that Akko could have Siobahan catalogue them immediately, or is this a group thing after the raid is done?
>>
>>1802534
It is done after each wave of raids, generally by guild members accompanied by a knight (or two, if it is a particularly valuable haul like these will be). Bribery and corruption are commonplace when the knights are present, and sometimes when they are.

>>1802463
I am glad you are enjoying.
