Five years ago, the warrior race known as the Saiyans were annexed into Emperor Freeza's armies. Since that day, the Saiyans have acted as the emperor's loyal servents, sent first onto dozens of worlds, exterminating all who oppose Lord Freeza's rule. As mighty conquerors, destroying all who have stood against them, the Saiyans quickly made a name for themselves as some of Freeza's most powerful and loyal subjects.

Welcome to Saiyan Conqueror Quest, currently Age 736. You the players control Karn, a Saiyan Brawler with a powerlevel of 41893 and are a leader of your own attack squadron. Your current teammates are: Meloka, Tunnip, and Tatsu.

Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
Karn and his team finally return to Planet Vegeta. A god is met, the Prince and General leave the team, an Emperor sparred with, and invaders were mercilessly crushed. Now we rejoin Karn's crew several days later, with Karn and Tatsu sparring in the ship's Gravity Chamber.

You quickly raise your left hand, catching Tatsu's right fist inches from your face. Quickly retaliating with a right hook, Tatsu ducks underneath your swing and throws a solid left jab into your ribs. You retaliate with a quick backhand into his face, knocking the older Saiyan away and down onto his back, where he stays catching his breath.

"You're getting faster." you comment, holding a hand down to the aged Saiyan warrior. He clasps forarms with you and you help haul him to his feet, the 10x Planet Vegeta's gravity still a chore to handle.
"Thanks." he says, dusting himself off. "This gravity training's intense. What made you think of using extra gravity to train?"
"Several years back, me, Nappa, and Leyas were sent to a planet with double the gravity of Planet Vegeta." you say, walking to the control console and shutting the chamber down. "Made us a lot stronger and faster. So I figured cranking it up to insane levels with this thing'll produce insane results."
"I see." Tatsu replies, you both walking out as Meloka and Tunnip enter. "We've still got almost four full months before the next mission, any othee training you planning to do?

Over the next few months you work with Tatsu on getting him adjusted to training in the 10x gravity, working with him on training himself up to working in the advanced gravity. Day after day, you both spend at least eight hours working in the Gravity Chamber. Tatsu is quick to adjust. After a month he's able to move unimpeded, and after two he's beginning to keep up with you.

But working in the chamber isn't all you spend your time doing. You work with Meloka on learning her Energy Javelin technique. Combining the Energy Blade and Energy Bomb, you learn to throw the piercing explosives over the course of a couple weeks. Your first couple attempts blow up in your face, but after awhile you learn to throw the javelins with ease. As your training period comes to an end, you gather your team to disembark on your next mission.

"How'd everyone else's training go?" you ask your team as you run the ship through the preflight.
"Well enough." Meloka says, wrapping her arms over your shoulders. "Tunnip and I worked hard in the 10x gravity, I'm up to 32458-"
"And I'm up to 26134." Tunnip interrupts. "What about you old man?"
"I'm up to 25917." Tatsu replies, then turns to you. "What's the mission?"
"Orders have come down, we're starting a major offensive against the Hive." you say, reading the mission briefing. "We're leading the push into Hive space, attacking what appears to be some sort of forward military outpost. The small planet has no moon, but it has a Hive-controlled station orbiting it. From here, it's going to take only a month with these new upgraded engines."

"A month huh?" Meloka asks you as your ship breaks atmosphere. "So any other training you going to do?"

"Yeah, come on." you say, setting the autopilot then pulling Meloka along with you into the Gravity Chamber. Cranking the gravity up again to times ten, you let the gravity shift before squaring up to Meloka. "We're going to work on some grappling. You ready?"
"Always." she says with a smirk, taking her stance. "Come get me."

Over the course of the next month, you and Meloka improve your grappling skills, the 10x gravity making each toss, throw, and move more difficult. Yet you both push through, you teaching her move after move and you each getting better at countering different throws. Not every session is productive, you and Meloka often becoming, ahem, distracted. However your work you both do put in pays off, Meloka and yourself able to counter most all of the Hive-styled strikes with a catch and/or throw. This will be useful in close quarters with the Hive, as their strikes can be lethal.

As the trip reaches its end, you both walk out of the showers and don your armors, then meet up with Tatsu and Tunnip on the bridge.
"We're here." Tunnip says to you, her sitting at the controls. "There's the planet down there and the station is to your left. What's the play? Clear out that station then storm the planet?"
"I think we should just destroy the station." Tatsu says. "No need boarding it, just destroy it from here then head down."
"That may alert them we're here." Meloka says thoughtfully. "Let's ignore the station and head straight to the planet."

With that you begin scanning, and start feeling somewhat out of your depth. On the station, are several hundred powerlevels around 20-30 thousand. But the planet makes you worry. Millions of those powerlevels sitting 20-30 thousand, and around a hundred in the 100k-150k range. Meloka sees the look on your face and asks.
"Karn you ok?"
"Yeah yeah, I'm fine." you say, shaking your head. "This isn't going to be easy."

"I've got a plan." you say, everyone looking to you confused. "Tunnip, keep the ship here. I'm going to try something."
"Wait Karn what're you thinking?" Meloka says rushing up to you. "You're going to do something stupid again aren't you?"
"No this'll be good." you say, pulling her into an embrace. "Just sit back and watch the fireworks."
With that you walk away into the airlock, pushing the button and depressurizing. You float out away from your ship into the void of space, then transform. Your power explodes forth, rocking your ship slightly. Orienting yourself on the station, you fly out toward it. Reaching out, you place your hands on the station, then push. You strain against the huge station, the black resin-like substance covering it oddly warm to the touch. Pushing with all your might, you feel yourself starting to push the station closer and closer to the planet. Looking up, you see several hivelings crawling over the surface towards you, intent on stopping you. But its far too late for that. With a final titanic push, you send the station flying down towards the planet.

Soon you see the station start heating up, glowing red as it reenters the planet's atmosphere. The Hivelings on the outside of the station are burned to a crisp, their bodies obliterated. You simply watch on, entranced.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hLDtlBlSLxA

The station flies down towards the planet, trapped by both the planet's gravity and by the force of your push. You see it become smaller and smaller as it nears closer to the planet, until it hits. Crashing down into the planet, the station explodes, the force of the impact astronomical. You stare on, awed by the pure destructive power. The shockwaves from the impact travel up through the atmosphere, buffeting you backwards. The light flashing from the blast is intense, forcing you to shield your eyes until its over.

Looking back down to the planet, the crater is visible from space, despite the amount of dust kicked up from the blast. Nodding your head in satisfaction, you fly back to your ship and open the airlock, letting it repressureize as you drop the Super Saiyan form, then walking back to your team on the bridge.
"That was-" Tatsu says, before Meloka interrupts him.
"Damnthatwasimpressiveholyshithowthehelldidyouevendothatwh-"
"Jeeze calm down." Tunnip interrupts, putting her hand on Meloka's head and pushing her down. "Give him a minute to catch his breath."
"Haha I'm fine." you say, sitting down into the copilot chair. "Alright Tunnip, take us in. Put the ship down-"

"- right in the crater." you tell her, still catching your breath. "Gives us some time before the whole planet's worth swarm us."
"Got it." she says, guiding the ship down into the crater, dodging through the wreckage and finding a spot to put it down. Setting the ship down into the wreckage of the satellite's hanger, now sideways, you all about to leave when you hear it.

"What the hell was that?" Tunnip asks, everyone looking to the ship's entrance.

"Get ready!" you shout out, readying yourself as you see it. A clawed hand has forced itself inside, and is pulling the door open. Forcing the door open, you're greeted with a sight. Hell no! This thing isn't wrecking your ship! Before your team can react, you're dashing headlong at the creature. It swings both sets of claws down at you, you drop backwards and slide across the smooth floor surface, getting behind the beast and grabbing it by the tail. Before it can dig its claws into your ship and get a solid hold, you've dragged it back out the ship then with a quick spin toss it into the ruined station's wall, the creature breaking straight through the damaged metal and crashing down into the dirt.

Following it out, you don't give it any time to recover. As it stands, you dash around behind the creature and wrap your arms around its middle. It looks down almost comically, confused at your arms, before you lift it up and over you and slam it oblong-head-first into the ground. The creature is still concious, and tries to slash your arms to escape. You simply let go and leap away, watching the creature un-bury itself from the ground.
"Karn, its at 125000!" Meloka shouts to you, catching your attention as your squad all fly out of the hole in the station. The creature, now free, looks back and forth between you and your squad, deciding on its next move.

You decide to test your new move out, focusing on gathering and shaping your power properly. Tatsu, Meloka, and Tunnip draw the creature's attention, rushing it and keeping it occupied with feints while the other two rush its exposed back. Meanwhile you focus your energy, forming the volatile javelin in your hand.

"Get clear!" you shout to your teammates, hoisting the spear to throw. They all scatter as the creature turns to you, only to have your javelin pierce its chest. It looks down, clasping the spear with clawed hands and tries to pull it free. But it can't. The javelin explodes, consuming the creature's torso in a vicious blast, spraying blood and guts everywhere.

"Well." Tunnip says, everyone flying over to you to inspect the damage. "I think you got it."
"Well that one isn't a threat anymore." Tatsu says, hand on his scouter. "But we still have quite a few of those left. As well as thousands of the regular ones. So what's the plan?"

As you get close, it seems to in fact be some sort of ancient shipwreck. You all examine it, curious as to why it hasn't been coated like rest of the planet.

"So what do you think?" Meloka asks you. "Why is it clear while most of the planet's covered?"
"I'm picking up no powerlevels" Tunnip says, deactivating her scouter. "I say we check it out."
"I'm getting a bad feeling." Tatsu says, frowning. "I say we come back for this later."

"Alright everyone, stick together." you say, looking over the shipwreck. Whatever defenses this has that are still active are apparently enough to repel the Hive for this long. So stay sharp. We're finding a way in there." You all fly around the wreckage, searching for a way in. Soon you find it, a giant sliding metal door, flanked by the ruins of two massive cannons long since destroyed.

"Meloka, Tunnip, you cover me and Tatsu as we open this." you say
"Right!" they chorus, gathering energy into their palms and looking around. You and Tatsu grab onto the rusted door, hands digging into the metal as you both start pulling, the metal on metal squeak painful to your ears. Straining against the rusted track, you and Tatsu heave open the spaceship docking door far enough for thr four of you to enter the darkened interior. Looking around, you spot an odd-looking machine walking up towards you all.

"Unidentified lifeforms spotted. Identify yourselves or face detention."

"We're Saiyans, from Planet Vegeta."
"Sepratist reinforcements? you can actually hear the gears whirring in the machine's head as it processes the misinformation. Everyone looks to you confused, but you simply shrug back "Reinforcements, right this way for situational briefing." With that the droid turns and starts walking along, gesturing for you all to follow along.
"Do we-" Tunnip starts.
"Roll with it." Tatsu says, following the droid. You all fall in behind him, wandering through the rusted, time-worn metal halls as the droid leads you further in.

"Apologies for the delay, with the ship's onboard gravitational corrector broken these halls are much more difficult to traverse. We're here." it says, gesturing to a sideways door. Knocking once, you see the door being forced open from the inside. The machine that opens it is much more intimidating than the one that led you all here, despite its blued metal armored shell heavily rusted.
"Sepratist reinforcements are here, commander."
"Reinforcements? Last time we received reinforcement was... error, chronometer damaged. Current situation: Ship irrepairably destroyed, all fighters destroyed, overwheming enemy force present. Two platoons of B1 Battle Droids ready for deployment, 14 B2 Battle Droids ready, and three AAT tanks still in working order. Current forces insufficient to complete takeover. What are our orders?"

"Maintain the perimeter." you say slowly, hopefully ensuring no more miscommunications are made. "We're going to recon the enemy forces."
"Yes sir." the large machine says, saluting. "We shall remain here and maintain perimeter integrity."

With that, you all take your leave. You take to the air, flying back through the ship. Several droids patrolling the halls salute you as you pass, eventually finding the hanger again and sealing it back shut. Once shut, everyone turns to you, Tunnip asking, "So what now?"
"Well, we've got a large group of the Hivelings about 500 yards to the north, one of the 150k ones with a few hundred weaker ones about 700 yards to the east, and three huge ones, 125k, 132k, and 128k, all clustered together. "You all get the ship and store it here, I'm gonna go fight the three large powers." you tell your teammates.
"Karn, you sure?" Tatsu asks you. "You sure you don't want backup?"
"Nah its fine." you say. "Besides, Freeza confirmed I'm stronger than any of them. I'll be fine."
"Be careful." Tatsu tells you seriously. "Once you transform, our scouters'll be useless to come and help."

"Be safe Karn." Meloka says, hugging you tight. "You'd better not let something that much weaker than you take you out. I'll never forgive you."
"I'll be safe. Promise." you tell her, then take off towards the three large powers. Ignoring stealth, you fly across the sky at top speed, reaching the powerlevels within a minute. Looking down, you see their source: three of the large two-legged Hive creatures all standing in a crater, near what appears a tunnel leading deeper into the planet. Two are ramming heads, a third watching on from the tunnel's entrance.

You decide to sneak up and Energy Blade the creatures, but which one first? Easy, the observer. Moving silently, you drift around over the tunnel entrance unseen, then drop when about five feet above the creature. A split-second before impact, you activate your Energy Blade and swing with all your might, decapitating the creature in a single blow. Before its body hits the ground, you deactivate your blade and fly back up into the air to observe the results.

Nothing. The two creatures continue ramming each other, some sort of primal display of dominance and completly oblivious to the death of their fellow Hiveosaur.

Well, what now?

What isn't broke, you guess. You remain calm in the air, observing as the two creatures ramming each other. Several minutes pass, and then it finally happens. The slightly larger creature knocks the other down into the dirt with an enourmous crash. Seeing your chance, you dash down behind the victor as it raises its head to roar, conjuring your Energy Blade again to strike. With another fierce swing, you decapitate the beast right before it roars. You drop swiftly to the ground after your attack and dash around the outside of the crater to avoid notice, the weaker beast turning to look at the one you'd killed as its body audibly flops to the ground with a sickening squish sound. It stares for several seconds, perhaps not comprehending what just happened. It then raises its head, perhaps to roar out an alarm. But you're too quick, pushing off the wall with incredible speed and swinging for a third time, decapitating this beast as well. Your speed carries you past the spray of blood, the creature's lifeless form falling to the ground as well amidst a spray of acidic blood.

You stand amidst the corpses of three creatures that were all several times stronger than your current form. A good lesson to be had: never let your guard down. With the creatures defeated, you again take to theair and activate your scouter, seeing your team nearly to your new allies.

What will you do now?

"My team can handle themselves." you think to yourself, walking to the tunnel entrance. Time to search this tunnel and see where it leads. You walk softly through the entrance, your steps not making a sound. Step after step, you walk deeper and deeper into the planet, the path twisting and turning. Several small sidepaths branch off of the main path, but yoo stay the course. Down and down you go, deeper and deeper as the air becomes warmer and more humid with each step. Soon you're soaked in sweat, the tunnels feeling like an oven.

Suddenly you hear it. The sound of footsteps coming towards you. You drop, slide down onto a ledge just off the path and listen.

3....2.....1......NOW!!

You blitz up from your hiding place, blade drawn, straight toward the large creature's face. It tries to back out of the way of your sudden rush, but it is too late. You rush carries you past the creature, blade slicing through the creature's neck with ease. As soon as your attack is finished, you deactivate your blade, but then you hear it. A commotion from where you came towards the entrance.

Suddenly a painfully-high screeching sounds, that is soon copied from all around you as the Hive rises to face a threat. You figure something found the bodies and is raising an alarm. This makes the whole situation much more dangerous.

You decide to sneak further inside, and while you're at it leave a few traps for the Hive too. Gathering energy into your palms, you fire one mine up the path you'd came from and another into the side path to your left. Unfortunately for you, a Hiveling was coming through that tunnel at that exact moment. You have a moment to register the shock on its face before the blast catches both of you.

You feel the energy washing back over you, slightly singing your face and armor as the light temporarily blinds you. When you can see, the first thing you see is the Hiveling you'd hit blasted to bits. You hear a sound to your left, and without thought lean back. You feel the wind off of the creature's tail spike as it passes through the space your head had been occupying moments before. You reach up and clasp the tail, spinning a quick circle and tossing it towards a noise. You hear a few dull thumps, sounds like a few were hit.

Gathering your power quickly, you dash backward as the three leap at you. You try and gain an opening, dodging and blocking attacks with your left hand while your right keeps ahold of your energy. You keep backing up, then find your chance! You duck under the lead Hiveling's tail, trip it with a sweep then palm strike it into the other two. A quick leap backward then fire your Energy Bomb into their midst.

Your blast hits them in the middle, the explosion consuming the three of them instantaneously, you shielding your eyes to preserve your dark vision. When you open your eyes, you see the blast has destroyed the three, but you hear more scrambling from deeper in the tunnels towards you. Near the surface you hear the sounds of combat, as well as... You need to get out of these tunnels, there's too many disadvantages here. You've always hated to turn your back to an enemy, but you gotta get out of this deathtrap. Dashing toward the surface, you fly along as fast as you can, gaining distance on the horde approaching you. You soon see the tunnel entrance and dash towards it, firing an Energy Wave to clear several Hivelings out of your way.

Blasting free of the tunnels, you breathe in cool, refreshing air. Looking around, you see a bizarre sight:
An odd-looking machine is firing a giant cannon into the approacching Hive, its shells blasting through groups of the Hivelings with each shot. Tunnip, Meloka, and Tatsu are all standing in different spots on it, keeping the Hive forces off of the tank as it drives straight towards you and the tunnel's entrance.

"Karn! Hop on!" Meloka shouts, holding a hand out as the tank approaches you and turns, the bladelike frame cutting into the ground. You dash over to her and leap, grasping each others' forarms as she pulls you onto the front of the tank, it turning its main frame away from the tunnel as the cannon faces back behind itself and covers its retreat, Tunnip and Tatsu firing Energy Waves at the creatures as well. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, just a bit tired." you say, laying out on the front of the ship and enjoying breathing easily. "Atmosphere in there is rough, gets more hot and humid the deeper you go. But more importantly, what's this thing?"
"Its called an A-A-T. This tank's pretty effective, got to give 'em that. These'll help clearing the planet. You catch your breath, we'll handle the retreat." with that, she stands and leaps up onto the tank's turret, charging up a smaller versuon of her Supernova attack, and fires it into the pursuers. The blast obliterates dozens upon dozens of the attackers and the added bonus of kicking up a huge cloud of smoke. The rest of the tankride is uneventful, you find yourself dozing off.

Despite how tired you're feeling, you force yourself to stay awake. You slap youself in the face with both hands, the sting focusing your mind. Rising shakily to your feet, you force yourself to stand and focus. You may have gotten out of that hellhole, but its a long trip to the ship. You watch the plains around you carefully, waiting for the next attack. You don't have to wait long.

About 100 meters in front of the tank, one of the Crusher Hives creatures claws its way from out of the ground, gathering power in its mouth for a giant blast attack. The cannon turns and fires at it, the blast not affecting the creature in the slightest.

You don't have time to get complex, just straight through it. You charge your Piercing Fist MkII, watching the creature charge as well. It roars, firing its attack directly at the tank and your team. You leap up and off the tank, towards the creature. Its time!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=atxYe-nOa9w

"HAAAAA!!"

You shout, firing off your attack directly at the creature. Your attacks collide, the explosion of power absolutely massive. Your attack still functions as you'd designed it, the attack piercing through the Crusher's attack and deflecting it in several different directions. Your attack prevails, driving you up and then through the creature, you blast straight through the beast's head, the spiraling energy shredding its head as you travel through. You turn and look back at its body, falling to the ground headless and spraying acidic blood everywhere. Thankfully none reaches the tank, and you float back down to the tank to sit and catch your breath.

The rest of the ride to the shipwreck is uneventful. You all ride the tank in, Meloka sitting beside you and resting her head on your shoulder. A pair of the B2 Battle Droids haul open a metal door near the ground, allowing the tank to drive straight through and into the safety of the interior. You all get off the tank, the pilot and gunner exiting as well.
"How went the recon?" the commander asks you.

Before you can answer, your scouter lights up, pointing to several powerlevels up skyward. Opening the comm line, you hear a familiar voice.

You've heard this voice before, but where? You think back on it, until memories of that voice come to you! From way back during the Saiyan-Tuffle War!
"Sarada!" you shout excitedly into your scouter. "Is that you?"
"Karn?" she asks back, confused. "Well damn, long time no see little man! What're you doing all the way out here?"
"Clearing the planet of some locals, probably the same as you." you reply. "Just like old times, huh? Both of us fighting over the same objective."
"And just like old times I'm going to be the one who takes it!" she taunts. "Where are you guys at anyways?"
"Come land down near the old shipwreck that looks like a lopsided tower. We'll come out to meet you."
with that, you turn to your team and say. "C'mon everyone, we've got backup! Let's go say hi."

With that you force the door open and dash out, looking up and seeing four Attack Pods crash into the ground near you, kicking up a storm of dust. When it clears, four Saiyans stand in front of you, but you only have eyes for one.
"Karn, how've you been?" she asks you, walking up to you and wrapping her arms around you, you both squeezing each other tight before seperating. "Its been too long. And what's this rumor I've been hearing about a certain guy I know being the Legendary Super Saiyan?"
"Well, it's kinda a long story." you start, scratching the back of your neck embarassed.
"Okay just who the hell are you?" Meloka asks, floating up to the Saiyan woman's eyelevel.
"Oh, what's this, they're letting children fight now?" Sarada says, taunting Meloka.
"Oh that's it
"Everyone just calm down a bit." you say, getting between the two of them. "Everyone, this is Sarada. She's Leyas' twin sister."

So what do y'all think, having fun so far? Shaping up to be a fun campaign? What do you all think Karn and Sarada's past looks like? What other secrets lurk in the depths of this planet? Find out in 6-7 hours, when we pick back up!

I... didn't expect that at all, I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the run and I'm enjoying it even if I can only lurk and post here or there.
>>
>>1835661
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the whole Hive thing, I prefer the occasional slight nods to out-of-continuity stuff rather than a campaign around it, but I'm sure that I'm the minority, and I figure it's probably just a little bit till we're back to slightly more episodic, less Aliens-fueled stuff.

in short, still enjoying the read, but this section isn't really "for" me.

"Sarada, this is Meloka, Tatsu, and Tunnip." you say, finishing introductions. "And who are you guys?"
"That's Aspara, Mato, and the runt there is Cabba." Sarada says, pointing them out one by one. "So Karn, what're we dealing with here?"
"Let's go inside and discuss." you say, walking back towards the ruined ship. "I really don't feel like getting stabbed in a sneak attack."

Once everyone is inside, you lay out the current situation to all your allies with a hologram projection of the planet behind you to help illustrate your points.
"Ok so here's where we're at right now. We have eight Saiyans, two platoons of B1 Battle Droids, 14 B2 Battle Droids, and three AAT Tanks. The enemy control most of the surface of the planet, as well as a mostly unknown underground tunnel system. The tunnels, at least the one I'd found, is too small for Oozaru or the tanks to get through. According to the scouters, we've killed less than half of those giant 100000+ powerlevels, another 60ish remaining, as well as several thousands still left of the regular Drones. Most of these Hivelings are all hiding underground. So we need a plan. Anyone have ideas? I'm open to suggestions."

"I say we just march down there and end the fuckers." Sarada says, radiating confidence. "With all eight of us watching each others' backs it should be no problem handling a few thousand bugs."
"I say we bait them." Tatsu says, looking thoughtful. "Send enough of us into the tunnels they respond, set up our tanks and Battle Droids around the tunnel's mouth, then those inside retreat back out and obliterate them with overwhelming firepower. Then rotate who goes down."
"I still say we transform." the quiet girl, Aspara says. "We can always blast the tunnel open bigger, right?"

"Well Karn?" Meloka asks you. "What're we gonna do?"

Better yet, imagine the Xenomorph-composed Brethren Moon. A dark, jet-black moon, coated in slick resin under which squirms millions of bladed appendages. Through its colossal veins runs putrid, decayed acidic blood. Though, perhaps it too would be stricken by the xenomorph's instinct to hunt those of its base species. Perhaps this moon would be one which feasts upon the other moons.

"Yes sir!" the large machine salutes, then begins giving directions to the other droids within the area, marching towards the troop area.
"Aww, c'mon." Sarada whines playfully. "Where's the fun in that?"
"Don't worry, you'll get plenty to smash." you tell her. "Those huge powerlevels won't go down to just tank fire, so there'll be plenty to fight."

With that, you assist in preparin for the battle, mostly observing the droids loading their antique blaster weapons and carrying shell after shell into the tanks, loading their ammo to capacity.
"They're sure efficient." Tatsu says, observing with you. "Wonder what happened to them?"
"Who knows?" you reply, watching them form ranks.
"All forces ready General. The 405th batallion, ready for deployment!" the commander says, saluting you.

You and Tatsu haul open the blast doors, a tank leading the charge out. As the last of your forces march out, you and Tatsu haul the heavy door back shut, then take to the air, hovering over your forces. Your small army marches, Tank, platoon, tank and B2s, platoon, tanks, with the eight of you flying ovethead providing both cover and lookout.

The trip is uneventful, not a single Hiveling in sight, until you make it back to the entrance of the tunnels. A pair of the Hiveosaurs stand tall, and bellow at your army's approach.

You gather your power and throw an Energy Javelin down at the giant creatures, but you miss. As your attack flies down, they each leap to the sides, dodging the projectile. It sticks into the ground between them, the creatures leaping up and over it as it explodes behind them. They're both rushing up at you at incredible speeds, you barely manage to dodge the first one, its chomping jaws flashing past you. But before you can move, the other frontflips and smacks you with its tail, sending you crashing down hard into the ground.

You pull yourself free from the ground, shaking your head and looking up. You see Sarada, Mato, and Tatsu rushing the creatures, occupying their attention while Meloka, Tunnip, Cabba and Aspara charging up their attacks. From your spot on the ground, you can see both clearly. So you decide to take both on at once. Quickly gathering your power, you prepare to fire. But before you can shoot, you hear a screech behind you. Turning, you're greeted with the sight of one of the larger Hive commander creatures rushing you.

You're forced to drop your energy and go on the defensive, blocking its tail thrusts and claw strikes. Damn, this creature's faster than you can handle. You manage to prevent any lethal strikes from hitting you, but several attacks make it through. You take several slashes to the chest and arms, its claws spraying your blood with each hit. With each strike it forces you to give ground, until your back hits the wall. Shit! You've got nowhere to run!

"Rrrrraaaaagh!" you shout, firing off an Explosive Wave, it blasting out and knocking the creature back. You spend a moment catching your breath, the beast squaring up to you.

The creature watches you, waiting on your next move. Plan in mind, you take the initiative and dash to the creature. It swings downward with a quick left, intent on decapitating you with a single finishing strike. At the last second, you draw your Energy Blade with your right arm and swing, blade humming to life. The creature sees the attack coming, but it's too late to avoid it. Your blade slices clean through the creature's shoulder, eliciting a cry of pain as you dash past it.

As you dash clear of the beast, you narrowly dodge its flailing tail. Instead of being decapitated by its razor-sharp spike, you only taking a small cut across your cheek drawing blood. You bought yourself some time, but you need more to turn this fight around. Focusing your remaining power into your left hand, you shape another Energy Blade. The creature takes a half step back, visibly afraid of your blades. With a smirk, you step forward, then explode off the ground, shouting out a wordless challenge to the creature with your arms held in front of you in an X shape.

The creature leaps over your charge at the last second, sailing above your head. But you're not that easy to shake! Frontflipping, your feet hit the ground in a crouch. Without hesitation you leap, the shock blasting the ground yoi were standing on into a crater as you close with the beast. As a last effort it crosses its tail and arm in front of itself, a futile showing. Your blades carve through the creature, the body splitting into four pieces as your charge carries you up and through where its body was. You turn and look back as you slow, the body parts falling into a heap near the tunnel entrance.

Turning to the reat of the battle, you see the droids have formed up into a half-circle around the tunnel's entrance, giving themselves plenty of room for charging creatures to be gunned down.

To your left you see Sarada having some difficulty, the large creature clearly overpowering her. She's still stubbornly standing her ground, refusing to give even an inch without a fight while Aspara and Cabba try everything they've got to hurt it. To your right, Tatsu is the only one still up and fighting the other creature, Mato down on the ground. The old Saiyan no longer fighting back and simply evading affacks, Meloka and Tunnip throwing Energy Javelins into the creature's tough exoskeleton.

You rush to Tatsu, if Meloka and Tunnip can solidly tag that creature then you're all set to rush the other one. So you dash to his aid. You rush to him, dashing between the older Saiyan and the beast's tail swipe, your blades cutting clean through it and saving him from getting pulverized.
"Thanks." Tatsu says. "That was getti-"
He doesn't get to finish, the creature opening its mouth and roaring, blasting you both with a Mouth Blast. The blast is enourmous, sending you both crashing hard into the ground.

"KARN! NO!!" you hear Meloka cry out. Looking up, you see her transforming into the imperfect transformation, hair spiking up and golden energy pouring off of her. The poor beast doesn't stand a chance now. Meloka's rage a terrifying sight to behold, she rushes headlong at the creature.

For a moment, you simply lay there. You wonder if you can get back up, if you can do this? Can you keep getting up, leading everyone into possible death? Staring down death, facing long odds every single battle?

Then you laugh. At first mentally, then out loud. You laugh as you force yourself to your feet, coughing up a bit of blood. Standing tall, you wipe your mouth with the back of your hand and look up. Meloka's doing fine, absolutely dominating her opponent. She sends the beast crashing into thr ground, pursuing it close. You look over to Sarada, seeing her getting tossed around by the giant creature, barely able to block the creature's strikes anymore. You raise your power, catching your second wind. Feeling some of your strength returning, you dash up to Sarada, grabbing her and pulling her out of the way of the creature's jaws, its teeth snapping shut just behind your feet. You pull her up, the beast taking a moment to reorient itself.

"Thanks, hah, for the save." she pants out, leaning heavily on you and her arm around your neck for support. "Bastard nearly got me. So what're we gonna do? This bastard's taken everything I've thrown at it, and its still coming. What's the plan?"

"Plan? Here's the plan!" you say, pushing her back and focusing on that golden power hidden inside you, bringing it back out.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xFuIpCt1mik

"RRRAAAAAAAAAGH!!"

In a flash of golden light you transform, golden energy blasting forth from you and nearly knocking Sarada out of the air. Exhaling calmly, you feel the glorious golden power enhancing your strength, making this creature rushing headlong at you seem insignificant.

"K-Karn?" Sarada says, stunned. "I-Is that r-really you?"
You simply look back at her and smirk, then say, "Watch this."
The creature continues to rush you, roaring in challenge. As it approaches, you simply hold out a hand. It collides headfirst with your outstretched palm, halting its charge dead in its tracks. Dashing around behind it, you grab its back and fly straight toward the ground. As you near it, you lift the heavy creature above you and slam it into the ground behind you, the impact earth-shattering. Letting go, you fly back into the air and inspect your handiwork as the dust clears. You see its legs kicking for a few moments, unable to free itself from the ground. Dashing back down, you grab it by the tail and with a quick spin toss it into the air, firing an Energy Wave and obliterating it in a single shot.

"....Damn." Sarada says, shocked and impressed at your display. "So it is true. You really are the Super Saiyan."

BOOM
cont
>>
>>1837625
Turning, you see Meloka obliterating the other giant creature. With that done, she and the others still standing all regroup on you, awaiting orders.

"Yeah, sure, just go have all the fun." she says, floating down and laying on the front of one of the tanks. "You'd better not take all the fighting for yourself Karn."
Her squad follows her, all picking a spot to rest. You lead your team to the entrance of the tunnel, then take the first step inside the mouth of the tunnel. Despite everything, you feel ready for what the coming fight will bring.

I suppose. But I keep thinking back to how much of a problem people had with Frieza's tail whenever he fought.
Having an extra appendage ourselves could shut down Frieza using his tail, or at least mitigate the damage he can do with it.
Besides, it never hurts to have another method of hitting somebody.

Gaining the ability to hit with your tail doesn't teach you how to fight with it. Plus the old "oh fuck this'll hurt" reflex.

QM QUESTION TIME

What do you all think the past between Karn and Sarada looks like? Already have a bit written up, may drop another bit of the past like I did with Karn's first kill waaay back in I think episode 2. I'm just curious as to what you guys think happened, and what possibly crazy theories you guys have.

Because I'm fairly sure Toei doesn't care as long as it makes them money, and Toriyama doesn't care because he's been trying to get away from Dragonball since the Cell Saga.

At least we got Caulifla out of it. Best Monkey Waifu.
>>
>>1839231
It was pretty obvious Toriyama only had Dragon Ball written up to the end of the Frieza Saga. He should have manned up and quit if he just didn't give a shit anymore.
His other works probably would have had an actual chance of being popular if he did that.
Or at the very least they wouldn't be buried under Dragonball as hard.
>>
>>1839265
Which is sad, because he writes a pretty good comedy/gag manga.
>>
>>1839289
I think so too. It's a shame that the market disregards anything he writes/draws.
If it's not DB, DQ, or Dragon Quest nobody seems to give a shit.
Maybe they just don't get enough marketing or something?
>>
>>1839350
>DQ, or Dragon Quest
Meant to say "DQ, or Doctor Slump"
>>
>>1839350
No idea. Might just be "It's not DB, we want more DB, when are you going to do more DB" fan mentality.

Doesn't all of his manga take place on Dragon World now too? That always felt like a "Hey look, this is the same universe as DB, give it a try" thing to try and pull some readers to his new stuff.
>>
>>1839359
You'd think the majority of fans would realize he has no real say in what goes on with DB anymore.
I'd take the chance and try and get some manga published under a pen-name or something just to see if people are really stuck on DB to the point where his other work is destroyed by it.
>>
>>1839366
To be fair, that would probably run into the Jump Problem. I've heard alot about how if a new Manga doesn't put out Bleach/One Piece numbers they'll can it super fast.

Not sure how true it is, but I've read a bunch of really promising Shonen Manga that ends up cancelled by Chapter 11 or 12.
>>
>>1839381
I wonder how hard it is to self publish stuff in Japan?
It must be doable if there's an entire festivals where people sell their doujins, porn, and one-shots.
The only option besides that would be digital publication.
That'd probably work the best for him anyways since most of his work is digital now too.
That and the fact that he developed an allergy to whatever ink he uses for traditional stuff.
Man I feel kinda bad for Toriyama. It must suck for him a content creator.
>>
>>1839389
Yeah. I do understand why he's totally coasting on DB though. People eat it up so much, it's free money. Hopefully he tries again and puts out another new manga though.
DQ is pretty big still and getting a nice push in NA too.

Also, at least he didn't lose all his notes for all his work in a fire, and end up just drawing porn like Masamune Shirow.
>>
>>1839408
>Also, at least he didn't lose all his notes for all his work in a fire, and end up just drawing porn like Masamune Shirow.

It's super apparent that he has the chops to do good, even great stuff.

I hope his new stuff manages to get traction if he ever decides to do anything else.
>>
>>1839671
How about some sabotage? Maybe new series of DBS will just dissapear? Or one of the artist will break a leg. There is so much possibilities in our world to get hurt.
>>

Maybe the IP as a whole finally stops making money so Toei fucking shelves it like they should have 20 years ago.

>Is everyone having fun with the quest so far?
I am. Crashing the station, all those suplexes and stealthy kills that had stupid high dcs and we somehow got away with it. Plenty of fun.
>Curious as to what other choices would have lead to?
This episode ones don't seem to have a lot of importance overall so going to other chapters then I ask what could had happened if we hadn't accepted Towa's help.
>Anyone wanting any particular epilogue done before next episode?
Dunno, something about Freeza or the other factions leaders

Oh, and something else. Since Karn seems to have a bounty over his head now, I know a certain assassin that could give a fun fight, if you somehow manage to adapt it to this format. There is this little obscure freeware game called Iji that may give you some material for the quest if you like it, so I say give it a try.
>>
So glad you all enjoy it.
>>1842279
>but i am curious of what would happen if we submitted to the Hive when they first approached us
Short answer: you would have been taken.
Long story: you would have been sedated, then fired into space in one of those giant boarding spikes to Planet Jhoria for "processing". Once there, would have had several chances to either lay low or break free and rampage, until Lord Boros and some mercs arrived, along with your team following your scouter's signal.
>Freeza's conflict over what to do with us.

Meloka would have died, for sure. Karn may have also died later that fight due to his rather serious chest injuries and possibly bleeding out. Towa may have taken it rather personally too.

-Saiyan Conqueror Quest Epilogue-
Part I

"Should I kill him?"

It is a simple question, but one you must ask yourself a lot. As Emperor of the Universe, deciding who lives and who dies is a constant struggle, a question in constant need of answers. Four months later, and you're still thinking of what happened on Planet Vegeta. On that world of manners-less savages lies the most perplexing individual you've ever encountered, the one spoken of in their tribal legends as the Super Saiyan.

This enigma of a man continuously confounds your every attempt to understand him. He goes from kneeling at your feet one moment, to the next trading punches with you like he's your equal! When you had told him your powerlevel was over one million, you had expected him to kneel, or cower in fear, or beg forgiveness as so many others had before him. Instead, he seemed excited, of all things. Impressed, certainly. But he showed neither fear nor regret, and even took your charge head-on.

"Next time you won't beat me so easily."

The Super Saiyan's parting words ring in your head. What did he mean by that? You've heard those words before. Usually from your brother, after he'd lost a fight or one of the wargames Father'd have you both do "to shape you both into proper rulers." as he put it. But the meanings between your brother's and the Super Saiyan's seemed different somehow. When Cooler said it, he implied bloody retribution. When the Super Saiyan said it, you sensed no malice from him. No desire to topple you, no urge to take your mantle. He simply seemed to enjoy fighting the "strongest warrior in the universe," as he called you, and wants to push himself stronger. It makes no sense.

His eyes are the key. You see something in his eyes that's different. It isn't fear, worry, or desperation, like you're so used to seeing in all those around you. Its something else. Something you can't quite place, although you know you should. You've seen a similar look before, but where?

"Lord Freeza, you have a call coming in."
"Who is it, Zarbon?" you reply, annoyed at the disturbance.
"Its your father."

As much as I want to go Boros Bros, having Freeza as a friend is a tough choice to make. You don't usually get this in other DB quests or fanshit. I know Boros is cool and all, but being bros with Freeza would make this quest a lot more unique in a way it wouldn't be if it were Boros instead. Decisions decisions.

Part II

"Father? Very well, put him on the screen then see yourself out."
"Yes Lord Freeza!" Zarbon says, quickly activating the monitor and fleeing the room.

"Greetings Father." you say, adopting a much more subdued, respectful tone. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I take it the Super Saiyan has been handled?"
"The Super Saiyan will live, for now." you reply, trying to sound confident.
"What?" King Cold shouts, angrily glaring at you through the screen. "I thought I'd told you to handle him, and not allow his continued growth. Do you not understand he could become a threat one day?"
"I understand that well, Father." you reply, keeping your head. "I want to understand this creature. Any other Saiyan would have deposed of that craven weakling Vegeta and claimed the throne for themself, but not this one. I want to understand what makes him tick."

"Then study its corpse." King Cold says, unmoved. "This Super Saiyan is too big a threat to let live. He even killed a Zoldyck."
"Pardon?" you ask. "Perhaps I heard you wrong, but did you say he killed a Zoldyck? One of the most powerful assassin families in the universe? Those Zoldycks?!"
"The very same." Cold replies. "Although it was the secondyoungest child, and no more than a boy. But according to the rumors, he'd already mastered the Kanmuru technique. And this Super Saiyan somehow detected then defeated the assassin, mercilessly cutting down the assassin after he'd won the fight."
"Father, I've decided to let the Super Saiyan live." you tell him, rising from your chair. "Its my decision, he's MY subordinate! I will keep my Super Saiyan, regardless of what you say. I rather enjoy toying with him, he even managed to push me to my third form. So for now the Super Saiyan lives."

"....."

Father says nothing for several moments, simply staring at your outburst with a raised eyebrow and disapproval.
"And you're adamant about this then, my son?"
"Yes Father." you reply, sitting back down. "I have fun letting the Super Saiyan of legends trying his best against me. I actually enjoy fighting him."
"Hmmmm." he says, deep in thought. "Very well then. He shall live. For now."
"Thank you Father." you say, bowing your head. "He will not disappoint."
"We'll see." he says, then severs the connection.

You sigh out and slump into your seat. Conversations with Father are always mentally draining. You swallow the rest of your wine, the off-flavor disgusting to you as your leave the room, heading off to your bedchambers.

"I'll see you again soon, Super Saiyan."

I said it on Twitter and I'll repeat here:

Thread Saturday delayed until at least 12 noon EST.

I apologize to everyone, but something's come up. I'll be in an area that makes Wrong Turn seem a pleasant summer vacation, so service will be spotty at best. Apologies to everyone I've disappointed yet again this week, but this is an unavoidable delay. Feel free to drop paragraph-long rants here about my constant delays this week, I'll read each and every one of them.

Now I feel bad about joking about your death after you finish the quest

Don't feel bad anon. Plans fall apart, notes get lost, expectations lead to disappointment, and QM's body is barely held together by sheer stubbornness. I can't die anon. Death is an end to suffering.
>>
>>1856113
Irrelevant. You have too much to do and live for to die this early.
>>
I still feel really bad for this weekend guys. Will do my best to make up for it this weekend.
