Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice odds for best of 3: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the the PTU system, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves and also may leave you open to an interrupt, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Pokemon and trainers are unique, and may have certain specializations, skills, or other things that the video-game mechanics might not allow. Some examples: That kung fu Bellsprout in the anime, that crystal Onix, or a Roggenrolla that can fly. Herb's perception skills, pokemon knowledge, context clues in general, and other things will hopefully come into play to avoid completely unfair, unforeseeable bullshit, but expect more bullshit from more advanced trainers.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Croconaw)
Sorbet (Vulpix)

Location: Tabo Island, outside a tiny mainlander town.

Recently: You and Keira double battled Laki and Abigail using Sorbet

That was a fun battle.

“Great job!” You lean down and pet Sorbet. As you do, you funnel energy into healing her. Combined with her win, she springs up with new spirit. The other pokemon gather around and she basks in the attention. Even from Gobble.

“You too.” You walk over to Conqueror, touching it lightly. Abigail and the Vivillion both fight take their attention from each other to you, watching as you heal the pokemon.

“Are you okay?” She asks it.

It cautiously pushes itself up, and gives a spritely flap of it’s wings. It feels great!

“Conqueror! That’s awesome!” Abigail playfully gets the pokemon in the belly with a series of pokes. Must be some sort of inside game they have. She gives it a kiss on the cheek, then turns to you and does the same.

Before you can react, you see Abigail’s shirt suddenly cling very tightly as she floats off of the ground. It takes you a moment to see that the looming cloud behind her is actually Laki, lifting the skinny redhead. “Tone it down, tomato head.”

Abigail gives a submissive yet smug look and she’s released.

“And you.” She walks over and helps you up. “Don’t let girls like that take adva-”

You pull her in for a deep kiss. She freezes for a moment and gives a faint whimper. Her heavy chest rises and falls when you break it. “That was a good battle.”

“Y-yeah.” She stares off at nothing.

“That was a great battle!” Hana emphasises. “So, umm, what happens next? You look pretty full of testosterone. Heh. uhh, I mean, not that you don’t usually, being a guy and all. I just meant you looked pumped up, and maybe were going to use that energy for...” She trails off, mumbling and hiding her face with her hair.

“What is the date plan, anyway? I know we’re going back to Abigail's after, but where to first?” Laki stretches. “We all going together, or separately?”

“What’s uhh, normal in this sort of situation?”

“Loanah doesn’t really have much of a dating culture. It’s less formal. People just do stuff.”

You consider your options. You don’t know if Laki and Hana would like the same things. But picking one for a date first and then the other later might get awkward too if one of the dates seems to take more time or go smoother.

Wow. You just got lightheaded. You’re pretty drained, too.

“What about a picnic?” You ask as the group starts walking back to town, to the pokemon center. “Then figure it out from there.”

“A meal in the woods? Isn’t that what we always do?” Laki remarks. But something changes her disposition when she gets a good look at you. Her face softens. “Yeah. Okay.”

“You can still wear a dress.” Hana offers her.

“What! I never said I wanted to!” Laki sigh in indignation. “What whatever. If it’s so important I guess I can.”

“What about Keira and Abigail?” Hana asks.

“Oh. Well if you want, I can show you around.” Abigail says to Keira. “I’d like to pick your brain on some stuff around the community.”

Keira holds her head defensively. “That’s a silly expression. But alright!”

You’re on autopilot as you get to the center and have your pokemon healed. Laki and Hana keep whispering to each other in a way that vaguely worries you. You put your mind to something comforting. “What are you two in the mood to eat?”

“Nope.” Laki says simply. “You’re not making anything. You’re pushing yourself too hard, Soft Hands. Leave the food to us.”

“But I like to-”

“She’s right.” Hana insists. “Pick a spot and we’ll come find you.” She looks to Laki for approval on that. Laki nods. “If you’re not busy.”

“If he’s not busy?” Laki tries not to mock Hana’s awkward phrase too hard and fails.

“You know what I mean.” Hana says defensively, but not offendedly, to Laki’s teasing grin. Those two are starting to bond.

Well, guess you should find a spot them. You saw some different areas that looked suitable. You know that the mood can really be affected by the surroundings. Let’s see. There was a pretty flower arrangement that had a good amount of foot traffic but the most amazing smells and colours. There was a tiny stream waterfall that’s just off the beaten path that reminded you of some of Eelilee’s streams. There’s the risk of wild pokemon. There was a spot with a table under some heavy trees behind a unique looking but closed down building. Nobody would bother you there. There’s the beach, too. It has a little bit of trash but maybe you could clean it up before they arrive.

Laki’s comment echoes in your head, and you decide that a change of scenery might be nice, even if, in your opinion, it’s not as pretty.

You set up at the picnic table and look around. A gentle breeze rocks the trees back and forth. Your pokemon all gather around and spread out a bit, exploring. Sorbet is still looking a little cocky about her battle. She struts around on the grass.

Gobble stands around awkwardly and decides not to bother her in the end. Mace sits beside him.

Belladonna finds a spot where the sun is penetrating and stands there while inviting Dice over. She gets him to spray her down with a light sprinkle of water.

You clean some twigs and things off the table. You feel guilty about not making any food. Well, maybe part of that is just a desire to dive into something comforting. Either way, you wouldn’t mind it.

It’ll be a little longer before the girls arrive.

You decide to explore around the building a little and see if there’s anything interesting. You glance back at your pokemon before disappearing into a half-open doorway.

It’s what looks like an old, single floor office building. Some graffiti and trash litter it. There’s an office chair in the corner. You step a little farther inside as you prop the door open for the precious light.

Something startles you! A movement in the corner. The light hits it and you can see a funny coloured Grimer. It glances to you, but doesn’t seem that threatened.

“Uh, there’s some more trash over there.” You blurt out, not sure what else to to say.

It looks at where you pointed and grunts in satisfaction at the industrial paint can it consumes. When it leaves, you notice something on the ground. You approach the item slowly to make sure the Grimer isn’t coming back for it. Huh. A Full Heal. Looks like he cleaned the outside of it, too. You wonder if you’ll see him again.

You head back to the picnic table and see your pokemon still doing what they were doing. Except Mace. He was at the door.

“Hey there, Soft Hands.” Laki approaches in a white sundress, completely taking your mind off of what just happened. “It’s not really fair that we dress up and you’re wearing what you always wear.”

“But he’s always dressed up.” Hana remarks. She’s wearing the clothes you helped her pick out at the first island. “Herb dresses so sharp you’d think he was a Bisharp.” She unconfidently jokes. “I think we’ve seen him in every outfit.”

“He’s got the apron.” Laki says.

“That’s not really a full outfit.” You laugh as you take the basket from her and set it on the table.

“Hmm.” Is all she replies with, another smug smile creeping onto her lips.

The three of you get settled in. You smile as you watch all the Ice pokemon gather into a group and share their cold. Sorbet kneads Glaceon, who is laying on top of Bergmite.

You take out a sandwich. It looks pretty basic, but that’s fine by you. You take a bite. Yeah. That’s not bad. Not exciting, but it does the job for sure.

“So.” Laki says, unsure of what to do or say next.

“So.” Hana continues.

It’s becoming clear that since you spend all your time together, there’s little new to talk about.

“How are things with your new pokemon?”

“Oh. Glaceon is doing well.” Hana perks up. “She floats on water so she dips in when she can to get out of the heat. But she’s been getting a lot of attention and I think ‘someone’ is getting a little jealous.” She whispers that last part as she makes an egg shape with her hands.

“Pokemon, right?” Laki says, taking a long time to lean over in her low-cut dress to grab a condiment from your side of the table. “So insecure about who the favorite is. Bergmite is doing well. I think there’s some trouble with the others not liking him as much, but they’ll warm up. It’s not like they hate him or anything.”

That’s good news. You bring up movies and sports. It’s funny, but you never actually learned a lot about their interests in any detail. Hana explodes into a critique of a monster movie she’s seen recently, talking about the camera angles used, the producers, studio drama. Everything except what actually happens in the movie. When you ask Laki about what sports she likes, she looks a little nostalgic.

“Ah. Well, I used to watch a lot of stuff with my dad and his friends. Guess I sort of fell out that habit. But I do like to keep up with Jato sometimes. It’s a shame Wailord is too big for it. I think it’d be perfect for his temperament.”

You chat some more, and things are going well. At least, right until you compliment them. “You both look pretty. I like your clothes.”

Laki and Hana look at each other. “Really?” Hana says, brushing hair out of her face and looking hopeful.

“It feels more like a costume.” Laki says through some uncharacteristic blushing and shyness. “Which one of us looks prettier?”

Hana also leans in to hear your answer.

“He’s gonna cop out.” Laki whispers to Hana, apparently not realizing you can hear.

“Shh.” Hana replies.

“It’s not a competition...” You start to the immediate, mostly lighthearted jeering of the two girls.

“Be honest.” Laki says.

“I’m pretty biased.” You confess. “I did help pick out Hana’s outfit. I think it’s more fashionable.”

Hana tries not to beam too much.

“But I think Laki’s is prettier.”

Laki, who was taking it well, scrunches her face. “How does that make sense?”

You take out some napkins, condiments, and other accessories. Despite being on the spot, you’re thrilled that she asked. You explain different points in fashion, and what sort of cuts, angles, and factors come into what is classically considered cute, pretty, sexy, etc. It’s a fascinating topic to you, because despite all the differences around the world and all the different tastes people have, there seem to be some commonalities that turn fashion into a science. When you’re done, you have a mess of things all over the table you’ve used to explain your points, including a small bit of sandwich that you had leftover. Gobble comes along and slyly nibbles it off the edge.

“Was that a cop out?” Hana asks Laki.

“I don’t know.” She has a stupefied look on her face.

“So.” Hana says, looking around. “It’s uhh, pretty secluded here. What’s the next part of the date?”

Laki finishes rolling her eyes, but looks concerned when she sees Hana scooting a little closer. She moves to your other side.

You feel a little more energized from the food and the topic, but still, that could be temporary.

You propose catching a movie. Hana is thrilled, and Laki is curious.

The group arrives at the theatre just as the last round of movies for the day are starting. You apologize to your pokemon as you put them back in their balls as per theatre policy, but they don’t seem to mind. You glance around at the selections. The smell of stale popcorn does nothing for your already sated appetite, and your funds are happy.

Hana jumps from one poster to the next. You ask her what she prefers, but she’s struck with choice paralysis. That, or she doesn’t want to pick a movie everyone else might not like.

There’s a romantic comedy that Laki makes a puking motion at, but you sense she might be overcompensating. It’s hard to tell. She does seem genuinely excited at that action movie with the guy trapped in the office building.

There’s a Mr. Mime themed horror. Typical. The poster itself already spooks you a little.

What else? Oh, a fun adventure movie. The kind nobody would hate but nobody would probably be really thrilled about. It’s a safe bet.

And a nature documentary. That might be educational. That theatre looks empty.

“That nature documentary could be interesting.”

“That’s uh, yeah, okay.” Hana seems surprised. You guess she’s not used to films like that, without actors to watch.

Laki is confused at first, but she folds her arms. “Empty theatre, huh?”

“Oh.” Hana responds.

“You’re right!” You say. “We can pick any seat and stretch!” You run ahead, looking for the best one. Somehow, you feel like you missed something.

You finally find a nice spot and settle in. The previews are already ending, but Hana comments that she’s seen them all already. The movie itself, like the others, doesn’t seem very new.

It opens up with some exciting shows of happy pokemon and trainers, then cuts to sad Absol shots.

Oh no. This is really depressing. It’s about the hard life of wild Absols.

“I had no idea.” Hana says, enthralled and sad.

Laki yawns and puts an arm around your shoulder. She seems to feel a little awkward though, given the nature of the documentary. She eventually retrieves her arm.

You put your arms over both their shoulders, startling them a little. But soon after they both snuggled into it and you.

A mercifully funny moment happens on screen with little Absol pups playing and falling over each other. You all laugh at the sudden change in tone and when you’re done and settle back in, you find you’re hands much closer to their chests.

Before you can even think, Hana stealthly pulls your hand over her breast, adjusting so you get a full handful. She shyly looks between the screen and you, seeing if you’re offended. Her hand massages over yours.

Laki dares a glance to Laki’s side, and seeing this, pulls your other hand into the top of her sundress.

You gulp.

You decide to just go all in. You let your fingers make circles and gently massage the handfuls of feminine charm.

Something about the depressing and doomed nature of life that the film reminds everyone of, combined with just the general teenage hormonal urges, makes for a surprising atmosphere. Both of them start to get into it a little more. Hana adjusts so your hand is down her shirt like Laki kisses the nape of your neck and puts a hand on your inner thigh. Hana meanwhile, starts fondling your groin directly.

You see something sad on screen about Absols, feel a little guilty, but quickly get distracted as your belt buckle comes loose. Hana’s head lowers and-

“Hey! What are you kids doing!” A voice calls out “This is a movie theatre!”

The three of you freeze as you see a figure in the dark. A squinting old pudgy woman is on the other side of the aisle. She must have come in sometime when you were...uh...distracted.

Nobody knows what to do.

“Cheese it!” You say say, pushing everything back into your pants and pulling them up.

You and the girls rush out of the theatre to the exit into the alleyway. For some reason, you run about a half block before stopping, laughing in excitement at the absurdity of the situation. You startle a few Meowth and Ratata in an alley and come to a hilarious stop.

“The look on your face.” Laki says.

“My face?” Hana laughs. “You looked more scared than anyone!”

“That’s because it might get back to somebody I know! You don’t have to worry about that!!” Laki laughs, then suddenly realizes the implication of what she just said. But Hana continues to laugh, not taking any offence or minding the comment.

“Holy smoked zucchini.” You proclaim. “I thought I was going to die.”

For some reason that sends the girls into another laughing fit. You all continue until your sides hurt.

“That was a fun date, Soft Hands.” Laki says, adjusting her disheveled top. “Not what I pictured, but fun.”

You look up at the night sky and see rainclouds forming.

“We don't have to end the date yet.” You say.

Hana reacts with sudden heavy breathes and a hopeful look. She glances to both ends of the alley.

“We can get coffee.”

“Yeah! Coffee...” Hana says with forced enthusiasm.

“You’re worse than a Salazzle.” Laki mocks as she drags Hana along.

The group arrives at a cozy, but very cheap looking little cafe. You’re surprised it’s open. Red heads turn to view your group, but one Loanan already there seems to put the girls more at ease.

You find a corner booth and order.

“Coffee was what opened Loanah up for trade.” Laki says. “Well, sorta. Back in the day, as pirates started using Take as a cove to rest and hide. Mainlander governments got all made about it and threatened an invasion. So to keep things from getting nasty, the islanders grew coffee to sell as a way of compensation. Of course, this lead to resentment that the whole island was paying for Take hosting pirates and getting a share of their loot. So as a solution-” Laki pauses. “Ah. What am I doing? Nobody wants a history lesson on a date.”

Hana doesn’t seem as interested. She looks distracted as the rain starts coming down on the dark window. Still, the mood is pretty light thanks to all that laughing before.

“It’s interesting.” You assure Laki. “Go on.”

“Really? Well, yeah. Alright. Didn’t think anyone else liked history.” Laki takes a big sip to prepare herself. “Right. So things got tense with Take. Now, this is before the islands were so integrated. They were more like a loose...confederacy? Is that the right word? Anyway, each island was more independent, but they all agreed this was an issue. So the solution ended up being threatening Take to stop helping pirates. And it worked. At least, in theory. It’s sort of poetic, because as the pirates became more like privateers, the islanders that helped shelter them also became a sort of distanced and unofficial group that everyone knew answered to the local clergy but nobody could prove it. This started the whole thing where the clergy decided to unite, to keep each other in line. But the Kontote, being the most powerful group thanks to the metal mines and position, didn’t like this. My own island, Akaneki, didn’t like it either. Tabo fell in line since they were sort of a vassal of Kontote, Kaitwe sat things out. Anyway, things didn’t heat up yet, and everyone was also getting fed up with my island’s constant raids. The whole culture of going to Neaka for wives and food sort of morphed into something more aggressive. I’ll admit that. It used to just be an informal ceremony where you snuck into the room of a girl you liked and she had food waiting for you. But, well, things changed. Anyway, Kontote comes up with a plan to gather everyone up and stop Akeneki before the Take situation is resolved. They get everyone to agree with it despite the tense cold war. Very charismatic leader. It also helped that Akeneki kidnap the future wife Eelilee’s biggest bigwig. So yeah, the raid happens, but Kontote doesn’t show up. Instead, they go to all the other islands and attack when they’re weak without their warriors or strongest pokemon.” She takes another gulp of coffee.

You nod, taking it all in. Laki seems just about done though, so you change the subject to include Hana. “What’s on your mind?”

“Oh. Heh. I am listening. It’s just... you know.”

“The lightning?”

“I was going to get a mouthful of...yeah. Heh. Lightning too.”

Laki rolls her eyes, but laughs a little anyway. “I can’t believe I was so threatened by you. You’ve got a one-stream mind.”

"You were?"

"I was."

Hana blushes and sulks. “I really am worried about the lightning though, now that you mention it.”

You look to Laki, who moves in closer to assure Hana it’s fine. “Not even a lightning storm. Just rain. There was like, one bolt and it was so far away we couldn’t even hear thunder.”

“Yeah. I guess you’re right.”

The bill comes in for the coffee on three separate bills. One is accidentally face up so you can do some mental math to figure out the total cost. It’s expensive for coffee, but not outrageously so, and you can still afford to pay it.

But is that a precedent you want to set? Dad always said that first impressions set the tone. The girls paid for their own tickets before you could think about it, now that you look back. Should you keep that up? Do it sometimes? If you only pay sometimes, does that set them up for disappointment?

You decide to pay the whole thing, but without the generous tip you had considered. Laki seems to notice and approve.

As you leave, the rain and wind seem to die down a little. It’s still enough to get everyone nice and wet, but at least it’s not bowling you over. The three of you eventually find Abigail’s house, since she had the lights on and waves to you from the window.

You crowd in apologizing about the dripping water. Abigail waves off your concerns about it, saying that it’s all built with the island in mind.

“Umm, where are your parents?” Hana asks, waving to Keira who is fascinated by all the foreign books and objects.

“Where are yours?” Abigail retorts.

Laki is about to start something, but Hana stops her.

“Are you an orphan too?” Hana asks, genuinely curious.

“Yeah. I wish.” Abigail says. “Dad left for groceries about a decade ago. Mom disappears for weeks.”

“You wish?” Laki says, unable to contain her anger. She raises a fist, but Hana puts her robotic hand on it.

“Don’t get offended for me. I don’t know what her life is like.”

“I’m offended for anyone with a daughter.” Laki mumbles. “Whatever. You’re letting us stay in your house. I couldn’t call myself Loanan if I kicked your skinny ass.”

Abigail seems to actually look a little regretful about her comment. “Her, I respect,” she points to That temper of yours is going to cost you, some day.” She winks at you for some reason. “Come on. I made some stew.”

The house is, well, a bit depressing. Amatuer art is drawn on one of the walls. Conqueror is sleeping on a dusty pillow inside a closet with a broken door. The television has a crack on the screen and the wall has what looks like a stain from a thrown bottle.

You’re most full, but you politely accept the stew she made anyway and have a little bit.

“Hey, this is good!” You say. Even Laki agrees.

“You sound surprised.” Abigail says. “I’m more than just a pretty face, you know. I’ll trade you the recipe if you give me something good in return. I don’t have a man around the house, so I wouldn’t mind a nice, long hug in those big, safe arms of yours.” You can’t tell if she’s teasing or not.

“I could help around the house. You know, cleaning and stuff.”

“You’re no fun.” She sighs as she collects a dish. “Yeah. I guess it’s a mess.”

“And I guess there’s nothing wrong with a hug.” You say, worried about Laki’s reaction.

“Not compared to what we’ll be doing later.” Laki states defiantly towards Abigail and she touches your shoulder.

“None of that under my roof.” Abigail tells her.

You take care of the dishes along with Abigail. Keira is already fast asleep. Laki does a little, and Hana helps a lot. It’s a weird end to the date night, but it does feel good to take care of a lot of the mess. There’s still a lot to do after everyone loses steam, but it’s a big improvement.

“Thanks.” Abigail says, offering you a hand up from the floor you were scrubbing. “Go ahead and use the shower, you guys. One at a time, please.”

Hana takes the first one, then Laki, then you. As you exit in your towel, you suddenly find yourself catching Abigail in a big, full body hug.

Laki notices from her spot in the other room. “What the f-” But Abigail closes the door. Curses and a fist hit it.

“Abigail!”

“Oh calm down, Herb.” She slowly peels herself off of you. “I’m not that easy. I’m just getting her riled up.”

“But...why?”

“Because she’s simple and spiteful and if you’re going to be stuck with someone like that you should at least get some of that crazy banging.”

“I...what? I don’t understand. And I thought you said you didn't want anything happening in your house.”

“I said under my roof. That just covers my room. Any sanctify this house had, my mom destroyed. So I might as well use it to help be the cool girl friend. Not a bad way to get noticed, right?” There’s a heavy note of restrained loneliness in her voice. “Makes me hard to forget, at least.”

“You don’t have to do anything like that. Friends-”

She clings to you again as she opens the door. Your entangled bodies spin past Laki, but she quickly catches up and peels Abigail off of you.

“Soft Hands is mine!” Laki yells.

“Ours.” Hana meekly offers.

“No. Not tonight. He’s mine. And you’re mine.” A vein appears on Laki’s forehead.

Hana’s body language and face explode with enthusiasm, but her voice is flat. “Yes ma’am.”

“You’re lucky I take my culture seriously.” Laki tells Abigail’s smug face. Laki storms to the guest room, picking you up. “Soft Hands. Naked. Now.”

Hana quickly follows into the room. As the door closes, Abigail gives you a sly, private way and mouths “you’re welcome.”

Laki snaps her fingers at Hana, who takes the hint and gets the lights. You’re thankful you’ve been thrown onto soft, freshly washed sheets. You have to admit tonight has been trying for your libido, but at the same time, do you want to get physical just because Laki’s angry?

I am super conflicted right now.
>Yes. Let’s go all the way
Would be super hot, especially with Laki taking charge like this and getting Hana involved.
>Let’s cuddle. The mood isn’t right
Haha! Herb isn't even THAT dumb!
>Insist on trying to get everyone talking to clear up all this nonsense
Seems very Herb like, so I'm supporting that -first-. At least to attempt it.
>Yes, but not all the way
But more like Herb's only half in it, kind of giving in but still preserving his virginity until it's just "right". By god I want him to make his own love nest for those two. Candles and incense and everything.

SO IN THE END I'M SUPPORTING

Laki first if so.
>>
>>1856584
It might seem that way, but it actually goes down first. There is a second strike microseconds after the first which goes up the path of the previous strike along the trail of ionized particles which it left.

However, in the case of lightning rods, it actually does originate from the rod itself, rather than the clouds, followed by a second strike which, again, follows the channel that the first left.

Everybody is right!

For me at the very least it's more about Herb actually setting it up himself, making the evening "just perfect".

The girls are away for the day doing something or other, the pokemon are with others or in their balls, and there's Herb cooking up a nice dinner and decorating the place they're staying at for the evening.
By the time Hana and Laki walk into the room they see off to the side a table with iced refreshments and small appetizers. Herb himself lays out on the petal covered bed while candles flicker all about the room.

And then Hana tears off her clothes and Laki starts laughing like an evil villain.
>>
>>1857432
that ain't never gonna happen, try for something just a little more down to earth ( yes i know the setting we are in but people are still people)

Location: Tabo Island, Abigail's house

You wake up the next morning feeling sore, tired, and fantastic. You look over to Laki and Hana. Both are sound asleep. You’re drained, but in a good, refreshing way.

You’re also starving.

You leave the girls to sleep some more and head into the kitchen. You pass by Keira who is still sound asleep on the couch. Abigail is there, reading a book. She puts it down.

“Sleep well?”

“Yeah.”

“I bet.” She winks. “Didn’t think a guy with two girlfriends would try to stay a virgin.”

“I...wait. Were you spying on us?” A mix of emotions flood into you.

“Hungry?” She ignores the question. She has a big pot of oatmeal ready. “There’s sugar over there.” She tosses a spoon at you. “They’re never going to see you as just you, you know.”

You cock your head. “I’m sorry?”

“Them. The islanders. I don’t doubt that they like you. They’d be crazy not to.” Wait, what? “But they’ll always see you as an outsider. A fetish, or status symbol, or a rebellious act to attach themselves to. They just don’t see Herb. Not entirely. Pokemon and people from your region? No problem. But not the islanders. They’re too obsessed with what makes you different.”

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.

“That’s not true!” Your voice is a little more defensive than you intended. Despite that, you’re scarfing down the oatmeal quickly.

“Uh huh.” She slaps some more oatmeal into your bowel. “Look. I’m not trying to be mean about it. I want to warn you. Have your fun, do your thing, but just...don’t expect this to end in a happy marriage with kids or whatever. The day’s going to come where they choose between you and their oh so precious heritage and you, you’re not the choice they’ll make. I don’t even mean that out of a sense of hate or whatever someone wants to accuse me of. It’s just how they are.”

“Well, I don- wait. Hold on. Were you spying on us before?”

“What do you mean?” She takes another sip.

“That comment about being a...”

“A virgin?” She locks eyes with you, a big smile plastered on her face.

“Yes. I mean. How would you know about...”

“This isn’t a great house, okay? Thin, holey walls. Jeez. You think you’d be more sensitive, Herb! We’re not all rich galavanting playboys!”

“I didn’t mean-”

“Relax. I’m just messing with you. They’re right. You are fun to tease.” She goes to the kettle. “Tea?”

“Umm, thanks.” You watch as she opens her cupboard. You notice a distinct lack of food. She fetches milk from the fridge and note the absence of most everything else in there, too. The oatmeal makes sense now. That's a cheap staple.

“Do you know anything about the grass temple?”

“No. I just live here with my fingers in my ears and my head in the sand.” She says, before laughing. “Lighten up. I’m just joking. Yeah. The one good place around here, if I’m being honest.” She says. “Least stuck up islanders. They help everyone a lot with growing crops and do more with dirt than plants. Well, one branch does anyway. Yes, I know I said branch we’ve all made jokes about it. Anyway, the other branches have their own thing. There are three, I think. Some perfume girls that are obsessed with flowers and looking pretty and ceremonies and stuff like that. There’s the the third branch, which is mostly just a bunch of junkie hippies if you ask me. They don’t do farm stuff like the first branch, but focus on the woods and wild plants they can smoke instead. I guess they know their stuff, though. Just don’t ask them about anything plant related. They’ll talk your ear off.”

“Nobody in the clergy removes ears!” Keira enters the room.

Abigail freezes up a little. “Uh, sorry. It’s just an expression. Did you sleep well?”

“Yeah!” Keira says, looking into a mirror to check her paint. “It was great.”

“I really wish you took my offer for my bed.”

“I like the couch.” Keira said. “Plus you...you only offered that because I’m a priestess.”

Abigail doesn’t argue the point. She offers Keira a bowl. Keira goes into autopilot with blessing it and saying a quick prayer before digging in.

“So you guys heading there, then? The temple? Or the gym? I guess they’re both in the same area so that doesn’t really matter.”

You wonder to yourself if you want to invite Abigail to come with your group. You’ll think about that.

“With that Ice pokemon? Well, I don’t know why you think you need it, but whatever.”

Oh right. You guess it’s fine to take your pokemon out. You put them away last night.

“Hey, Soft Hands.” Laki hugs you from behind, lightly biting your ear. “Last night was amazing.” Her voice is low, sultry. You see she’s in a loose tank top as she comes around and parks herself on your lap. “I could take that every night. I don’t think the bed could take that too often, though.”

Abigail rolls her eyes sarcastcally. Laki looks upset at the reaction.

Hana is standing in the doorway too. “Umm, morning.” She mutters.

A caw takes your attention. Murkrow is in the window.

“Hi Murkrow!” You greet the flying pokemon. “How’s things?”

He caws happily.

“He says they’re great. His sister is already more active, and today, he found some fresh berries.”

He drops a bushle onto the ground. They’re all half-eaten.

“Uh. Thanks. But we just ate.” Laki says, stopping her hands from flowing over you body. Probably for the best, you want to get up sometime soon.

He shrugs and scarfs the rest down. He looks around, a question on his face.

“Oh. The other pokemon? I was just about to release them so we could go train.”

He caws again, and flies out the window. You wonder if he’s going away, but you see him hanging around outside. He shamelessly roots through a trashbin within view.

You toss out all the pokeballs. Your pokemon are full of energy. You give them a moment to get used to this area outside of Abigail’s house.

“Sleep well?” Hana gives you a shy kiss on the cheek. You fidget awkwardly and smile. Despite last night, that still feels very intimate and exciting.

“Yeah. You?”

“Great! Umm, sorry if I got a bit crazy last night.”

Oh jeez. “It’s fine. I had fun.” Fun? Even you think you sound lame.

“Heh. Cool.”

Laki approaches. “What are you two talking about?”

Hana kisses her on the cheek too.

Laki wipes it away. “Woah! Hey. Yeah. I umm. Let’s train.”

“You two go ahead. I’m wiped.” Hana sits down, getting her Chinchou out. “I’ll be here, charging.”

Your pokemon start to gather around, looking to you for what to do.

You decide to train with Laki. She doesn’t vocalize any opposition.

“Alright Sorbet, Gobble, and Bella. I want you over here. Dice and Mace, you have free time.”

Mace nods. Dice just sort of clamps onto him as the rock pokemon begins to move away. Laki laughs at the scene of Dice being dragged and Mace’s indifference.

Laki asks as she gets her pokemon out and commands some warm up exercises. “Meowth, you can go ahead and join Mace and Dice. Don’t worry, we’ll train hard after the gym.”

Meowth does not seem disappointed to get out of training at all. Bergmite, Wailord, and Chatot all look a little jealous.

“So what did you have in mind?” She asks.

“Well, I’ll be healing pokemon as they get tired, so we can really push it in training today.”

Laki looks a little concerned, but doesn’t anything about it. “What sort of training?”

“I want to do some stat training, but, well, first, I think we,” you lean into Laki’s ear, “we should work on Wailord’s fear of ice.”

“I figured he’d get over it in time.” Laki confides. “I don’t know what to do.”

You both stop whisping as you realize all the pokemon are staring at you.

“Two laps from here to there.” Laki commands. “Get that blood pumping!” They all run off to where she pointed. The differences in speed among the group become very apparent even after a few seconds.

“How are we going to help Wailord?” She asks.

It’s a fair question. You’re not exactly a pokemon psychologist. You wonder what Wailord would respond to best. A meditation session? Playing with Sorbet and Bergmite? Maybe even getting hit by a few since he resists it, so he can get used to them and see that they’re not special?

>Meditation could work. Ask Keira to help
>Get Sorbet, Wailord, and Bergmite playing together
>Do training that involves Wailord withstanding light ice attacks
>Sit Wailord down and explain ice and being frozen from a scientific perspective. Demystify it.

“Is it okay if I try something?” You ask Laki.

She gestures to go ahead.

You get your pokedex out and wait for Wailord to finish it’s first lap. It pants and comes to a clumsy stop, almost bowling you over.

“Hey Wailord. Don’t worry about the other lap. Instead, I want you to relax.”

He looks to Laki. She gives a nod and goes to get the other pokemon moving again. Bella is in the front, trying to lead everyone by example in front of Laki.

“Wailord, we’re going to learn right now. After all, knowing is half the battle.”

“I get that reference.” Hana says from her rock. You didn’t think she’d be able to hear from there.

Wailord looks at you curiously. You sit down and start reading off things about ice. After a few minutes, you have Wailord looking over your shoulder at the pokedex and pictures. Frozen pokemon, remedies and items that cure the status, some statistics on Ice moves and likelihoods of being frozen, and exactly what goes on at the molecular level. It’s a little annoying sometimes because your pokedex’s bad memory prevents you from saving bookmarks and going back to them, but still, it’s educational.

“How do you feel about that, Wailord?”

He isn’t sure what to communicate. You get the feeling that he’s a little less worried about being frozen, but you know that fear is a funny thing. You can understand something on an intellectual level and your primal instincts can still overpower that.

You suppose this is about as good as you can expect for now. You won’t know for sure until Wailord is tested.

“How’s it going?” Laki shouts. She looks like she has her hands full.

>Spend more time with Wailord. Laki will be fine
>Work on everyone’s defences and health
>Work on everyone’s attack stats and accuracy

Make Gobble our Bruiser, have Sorbet and Bella train some more on speed. Though I'd prefer to train Sorbet's special stats more later.

“Alright Gobble, it’s work on that attack and accuracy.”

Hey looks over to you.

“I’m not saying you’re bad. Heck, you’re great! Every time you’ve been on the spot you’ve blown things out of the water with your attacks.”

“But practice is what keeps us at our best. And while an amatuer practices until they succeed, a professional practices until they fail” Laki finishes for you. “Something my coach used to say.”

Gobble stands up, determined.

Bella comes flying in from the side, punch the air. The power she puts into the attacks lifts her light body off the ground a little.

“Actually Bella, I want you and Sorbet to work on your speed. Well, mostly speed for you. Sorbet, I want to split your time between speed and special attack.”

Belladonna immediately starts running around. She tires herself out pretty quickly though.

You split your attention among the group. Gobble is set up in front of old misshapen bricks that are strewn about the small field. Long discarded construction leftovers. He takes his time lining up each attack, and putting the entirety of his focus into hitting them as hard as possible in one attack. He turns them to dust. Sorbet is a little trickier. She’s proven she can fight before, but she doesn’t seem very motivated to train. She stops every few minutes to groom herself. You notice it’s distracting Gobble and Bella too. Bella seems to think it’s okay for her to stop and work on looking pretty as well.

>It’s fine. She’s still making progress
>Ask Laki to come in and motivate Sorbet
>Point to Bergmite’s efforts as the example she should follow
>Make her incredibly dirty so she gives up on grooming for now

Actually, it might be a good idea to talk up Bella's dedication. It will make Bella want to work hard to be a good role model.

Why don't we get dirty too? Sorbet can probably tell we care about our appearance, and the fact that we're willing to sacrifice current looks for future gains could be encouraging. That, and we can always get clean later.
>>
So, I noticed Hana gave Laki a kiss on the cheek. I'm really interested in the relationship between those two, now more than ever.

I'm sure, or at least I strongly suspect and hope, that the lewdbin will give all sorts of insights about how all three of them are getting used to the relationship and the harem dynamics.

And I can only imagine Herb's reactions. "All three of us? Together? At once? Oh my..." and all that stuff.
