‘There is no such thing as paranoia. Your worst fears can come true at any moment.’ And these words rung true as you were forced to confront one of your greatest fears, interacting with strangers. This was made even more terrifying by the fact that your neighbors weren’t simply people; they were all secretly monsters in disguise, all feeding off human emotional energy, your emotional energy. On the bright side you do have some sort of help on the outside; Father Armand would come to your aid if needed, and as long as you could get the info on what these monsters were as well as what their weaknesses were you could feed that info to Armand. Your apartment will hopefully be a safe haven as well, as you took the night putting a line of salt around its edges, you had to leave some space for the door way, lest it break every time it is opened, but that along with a few other precautions that you set up you should be safe… though no plan survives first contac- never mind, best not to think of such things for now. Now is the time to act. So armed with but a simple peach wood dagger for spirits, a bible, and various other pieces of junk you… ‘acquired’ from a recently deceased shop owner you will venture into the terror, if not for yourself but for Armand and every other human subject to these monsters hunger. The pathways are lit; you must simply choose where you begin. You feel the morning sun from the small hall’s only window cover you in a small amount of warmth as you step out of your room. It’s a new day, you hope it won’t be your last. >Room 304, an unsettling presence weighs on you as you view the door>Room 302, the room next to yours, formerly Nickole’s before you… There is probably nobody home>Room 301, across from Nickole’s room, there is something odd about it, not bad, just a strange odd>A different path…

>>1889102You take tentative steps towards the door, an odd feeling overcoming you as you close in on it. Reaching the door you take a deep breath and mentally ready yourself, as well as doing one last check to make sure your bible and knife are in hand. Lifting your heavy hand you go to knock on the door. Only for it to open, batting your hand away before it could hit its intended target and stunning you in the face of your neighbor. A girl with an… odd expression on her face? You think she is trying to smile at you, but it just comes off as creepy.“Greetings.” She says rather impartially, a contrast to her intended expression. At least you hope her intention is friendly.“Uh… Hello?” smooth as silk as always. The two of you just stare at each other awkwardly. You honestly have no idea what to do now. It is nice to meet you Jack.” She says with the same emotionless tone. You don’t know if it’s the fact that this is a person, a cute girl, or the fact that she is a monster that is making this interaction particularly hard for you. The fact that she just stares at you with that unmoving expression doesn’t help as you just stand there with your hand out like an idiot. She doesn’t seem to make much in the way of movement at all, as far as you can see. She doesn’t even seem like she is breathing. After several more moments of silence she breaks it once more. “Would you like to come in for tea?” she offers.>”No thank you, I just wanted to introduce myself.”>”That would be nice.”>Write in

She makes no indication that she will allow you into her home or that she even will acknowledge that she invited you in the first place. You honestly don’t know what to do. “So, uh… the tea?”“Would you like to come in for some?” She says once more.“Sure.” You have no idea what is wrong with this girl. She steps out of the way and you enter her home, and it was a Spartan style of home. There didn’t really seem to be much. No personal touches or items of sentiment or anything similar. Everything seemed to be some kind of sterile clean, almost untouched. There didn’t even seem to be a bed. The only things that seemed to be her own was the dresser, the table with two chairs you were seated at, and the kettle that she had in the small kitchen. You noticed as she opened one of the kitchen cabinets that it was filled neatly with nothing but boxes of tea. She quickly snatched one and closed the cabinet before filling the kettle with water from the sink in a particularly careful way. Did she not like water or something? Unfortunately she doesn’t seem to plan on elaborating further.“What made you move here anyway?” Your apartment building wasn’t exactly the best besides the fairly lax land lord.“I used my body to position myself and my belongings into this building.”What? Was that some kind of joke? Were you supposed to laugh? You can’t contemplate it for long as it appears she is done preparing the tea. Placing a tea cup on your side of the table, she carefully pours the steaming tea into your cup, before turning to place the kettle on the stove. This doesn’t make you feel any better.“So what brand of tea is this anyway?”“It is a homemade blend I used to buy in bulk from a local store; unfortunately the owner was recently discovered deceased a few weeks ago.” You can almost detect a hint of sadness in her voice. Wait, was it that one hippies shop? That doesn’t make you feel any better about drinking this. It could have some kind of weird drug in it from that damn hippie.“So where did you live before?” It would be best to try and distract her for now. At least until you can avoid drinking this tea somehow…“I lived at my home.”“Your home?”She turns to you and nods, before coming over and taking a seat across from you with no cup of tea.“Where was your home?”“It was at home.” She says, in a… nostalgic tone? It’s hard to tell. Regardless you feel that is the best answer you will get from her.“So why did you decide to live here then?”“It was an order.”“From who?”She just stares at you blankly. “I can’t tell you.” “So why do you not have much in the way of furniture?”“I have no need for such things.”“You don’t have a need for a bed?” you inquire. She just shakes her head in response, and makes no indication she will explain why she feels she doesn’t need a bed.“So do you know the other neighbors?”“I am aware of their existence yes.”“Do you know anything else about them?”She stares at you inquisitively. “I know they are my neighbors.” This is getting frustrating. She either has no idea or is actively trying not to tell you anything.“Also the land lord is a bit of a sloth.”Correction she either has no idea, or is actively trying not to tell you anything that wasn’t obvious.“So what do you do for a living?”“I live here, and I make tea.”How are you supposed to distract her long enough for the tea to get cold if she is just going to give you blunt, straight, answers that tell you absolutely nothing? It takes most of your will power to not just groan in frustration.“Is the tea not to your liking?”Shit, she noticed you haven’t touched your tea yet.>Take a sip>Chug it>”Sorry just not a tea guy I guess.
