We are Sirena Le Doux and we seek revenge against our former master. So far, we've grown powerful enough to become the Witch Queen, but there is much more to learn. With our list of allies and teachers ever expanding, we won't stop until we've reached the top, because that's where our former master waits.

Last time, we solidified our control over Lady Silverwind. During the course of our combination mind control and seduction, we came into contact with the Witch Hunter, a mysterious man hunting us down. We agreed to meet with him to satisfy his curiosity and perhaps find a means of dealing with him once and for all. Now we must prepare...

Parting from Lady Silverwind was bittersweet; though she pleaded with you not to go yet, you knew you must. You business, your life and your revenge come before pleasure, and not specifically in that order. And even though she is very pleasurable company now that she is properly enthralled and under your control, this matter with the Witch Hunter is vastly more pressing than entertaining her newfound affection for you.

You depart with Faye early in the morning. When you last spoke with him, he informed you that he would be waiting at "the Gate", the link between the large swamp and the forests northwest of Bridge Town. The swamp, a place you have never ventured, is barred from entry save for this one ancient archway, currently under the control of a great green dragon.

'What game is he playing at, I wonder? Luring me to this place under the pretense of a friendly talk when I know he wants to kill me. He obviously has some kind of ulterior motive, but what...?'

Thoughts of potential scenarios swirl about your mind as your carriage travels south. You would have teleported, but you felt it important that you publically leave Lady Silverwind's estate so as to not draw suspicion from her staff. Faye distracts herself with cleaning her nails; you almost envy her ability to not worry about things as much as you do. But that comes with a carelessness, you remind yourself, that has gotten her into trouble more than a few times, including the fact that she is now nursing the brood of Ben in her belly.

Ben... you also wonder how he is doing. Lycanthropy isn't an easy thing to deal with until one can learn to bring it under control. But will he? If not, curing him may prove difficult.

You proceed directly south, bypassing Youngwater and heading to your tower. Ben's condition has been on your mind for some time now; as one of your first minions, he holds something of a special place in your heart next to Merriam. While your knowledge of lycanthropy isn't extensive, you know that he's likely undergone some changes. The mark you have placed upon him hasn't informed you of any damage, meaning he should be physically alright, but you wonder at his current mental state.

Upon arriving at the tower in the afternoon, you find a note on the door left by your dwarven runepriest, Bargum. It reads, "Took Alex into town for a while until this matter is settled." Your brow furrows as you reread it. 'What matter?' When you open the door, it becomes apparent. The place is nearly trashed, with toppled furniture and scattered items.

"It looks like a wild animal got in here," Faye notes from over your shoulder.

As if in response to her comment, Ben suddenly comes around the corner into the entry hall from downstairs. He is shirtless, dressed only in loose pants, and you immediately notice his chest is hairier than before. His lips, currently moving with the motion of his gnashing teeth, shine with the juice of the meat he is eating. His hair is somewhat disheveled, but the most startling physical change he has undergone is that he looks broader, with more muscle on his arms and upper body.

He sniffs in the air, swallows his bite and then focuses singularly on you. "Mary," he says in a hungry tone. Before you can say anything he strides across the room with three wide steps and scoops you up into his arms, easily hoisting you up.

"What! Ben--"

He pushes you up against the wall and kisses you almost violently, thrusting his tongue into your mouth and brazenly groping your body. Faye watches with wide eyes as you taste the meat he was just chewing. Your hands push against his chest but he is like a stone wall. He continues aggressively kissing you, acting much more bold than he ever has before.

You firmly place both hands on his shoulders and manage to push him back. "Ben! You will LISTEN to me."

The mark compels him to obey, but there is conflict within him; some primal force is fighting against your magic. He growls, his hands softening, as he slowly lets you go and steps back. You stand against the wall and look up at him, staring into his eyes. You can tell that he is only barely being held back from ravaging you.

"Faye, go find Amber," you tell her. "Make sure she's alright."

"Got it," she says, gingerly stepping past Ben who doesn't even pay her any mind.

You compose yourself and speak to him in an authoritative tone. "Pick up that chair, set it down right, and sit."

He pauses, but does as he is told. You can tell how tense he is, and so you cast a spell of calming emotions upon him. This seems to work somewhat, as when he sits he relaxes.

"Now then, Ben. Tell me what's going on with you. Is something wrong?"

He shakes his head. "I feel better."

"In what sense?"

"I don't know..." he scratches his head. "I feel stronger. More... in-tune with what I am."

"And what are you?"

"I'm a warrior," he replies, gripping his hand into a fist and making his arm pump. "And I can feel things all around me now that I couldn't before, smell them, hear them... It's like I'm everything I was before, but now I'm not holding back, worrying about others. I fight, I eat, I lay with women."

On that note, Faye pokes her head into the room. "I found Amber. She's not really in a conversational mood."

"Is she dead?" you ask.

"She's not hurt," Ben answers for her. "I didn't hurt her."

"She's in quite a state. I'd just give her some time," Faye replies. "She'll need it for recovery."

You look back at Ben as he seems distracted. He sniffs the air again and your eyes narrow. "Ben, do you know what's happened to you?"

"No. I just woke up and felt, I don't know, better."

"Did you knock over all this furniture?"

"I was just playing around," he shrugs. "Amber seemed to enjoy it."

Your mind is suddenly rife with images of him chasing her around the rooms of the tower before catching her and--

"Also, he's eaten all the meat," Faye reports. "I checked the storage. It's literally all gone."

"I was hungry!" Ben defends himself. He looks Faye up and down appreciatively. "Still am."

'He's feeling like an alpha male,' you think. 'Like a wolf pack's alpha. Eating, mating with the females... A wild animal who hasn't been taught how to heel.'

You fold your arms and frown. The situation is more complicated than you had initially thought. Not only has Ben changed, but he likes it, and is perhaps unaware of what is truly going on. 'Perhaps it would be best to tell him,' you think. "Ben, I'll give it to you straight. You are a lycanthrope."

"A what?" he blinks.

"A werewolf. You were cursed when one of them attacked you during your battle with their leader."

He sits back, his brow low as he thinks hard. "I'm a werewolf? Well... I guess that, uh, explains a few things..." He looks down at himself and brushes a hand over his chest. "I was wondering where this hair came from."

"You didn't think it was a sudden growth spurt, did you?" you say with a smile.

"Mmm, but he has grown quite a bit, hasn't he?" Faye says. Ben looks back up at her and smiles.

You snap your fingers in frustration. "Hey! Hey! Down here. Now listen up, Ben. The werewolf curse is affecting you on several different levels. Your personality has changed somewhat; you're clearly more aggressive and instinct-driven. Eating and fucking, namely."

"Especially that last one," Faye laughs. "You should see Amber right now."

"The point I'm making is that you're out of control, Ben. You need to learn how to reign in your new overly-aggressive instincts and control the beast."

"Put a leash on the dog, so to speak," Faye explains.

"Okay, but how?" Ben asks. "I mean, I wasn't even really thinking that I was doing anything differently. It all felt natural."

"That's because the curse is, for better or worse, apart of you now," you explain. "It's made you stronger and faster, at the cost of being more like an animal. And then there are the transformations..."

"I don't remember transforming."

"You wouldn't. That's when the beast fully takes over and you lose all sense of self. I was able to prevent your first change, but unless we find a way to control your transformations you'll be a slave to the wolf-spirit within you."

"Can it be controlled?" he asks, nervous.

"I believe it can... but I don't know the magic required. It'll require some research. Which means, in the meantime, you'll need to learn how to keep yourself under control."

"I'll try," he swears. "...But I also really, really don't want to."

"That's the wolf in your head telling you what to do," Faye says. "He wants to hunt, to eat, to... well, you know."

"So what are we going to do?"

"Hmmm... Faye, stay here and help Amber. Ben, you're going to come with me."

"Should I get dressed?" he asks.

"I doubt it will matter," you tell him, and walk out the door with him following. You lead him eastward, towards the cave of the druid Jenna. As if sensing your arrival, she emerges, wearing her green tabbard and blue hood.

"Greetings!" she says, her eyes lightning up upon seeing you both. "Mary, always a pleasure to see you. And Ben... you seem different."

He stares at her as you explain, "We've got a bit of a problem, Jenna. I'm hoping you might know a thing or two that can help."

"Of course! Please, come inside."

"I want to," Ben says, and you elbow him in the ribs. Jenna, oblivious to his comment, leads you both into her cave, where she wakes up Hamlet.

"Hamlet, I need you to go get a few things for me." She takes out a small scroll of thin bark and quickly writes down a list of ingredients. "Now, off you go." The small p'orc gives a tiny salute and waddles out of the cave. She sits at her root-table. "Tea?"

"Business first. Ben's a werewolf. What are our options?"

She looks him up and down. "Yes, I thought as much. It's in the eyes, you know. Well, do you want him cured?"

"Can he be controlled instead? The curse, I mean. Can he control it," you clarify.

"I've heard of such things. Tell me: what do you know of moonstones?"

"Moonstones? Nothing at all."

"They're more of a curiosity. It is said that long ago, the elves brought crystals from the moon down to the earth below, and these were items of great power. Only they knew how to wield them, and they were linked to the moon and its phases. All manner of things could be done with them, but one thing they allowed was control over lycanthropy. Pure, complete, total control."

"Really? To what extent?"

"Transforming at-will, and completely taming the beast within," she explains. "The fuller the moon, the more complete the control, but so long as a moonstone was possessed by the cursed, they would never fully lose themselves like so many lycanthropes today have."

"Where would one find such a stone?"

"Unfortunately, that I do not know. They are very rare, and have changed numerous hands over the course of the last ten millenia."

You think for a moment, then suddenly your brain lights up with memory. 'A moonstone... Lady Silverwind has one in her collection! Of course! And with her under my thrall, retrieving it should be no problem at all...'

"I think I may have an idea," you say. "But in the meantime, do you know anything that could help us now?"

She crosses her legs and purses her lips as she thinks. "I have a few ideas... Could you spare Ben for a while? I may need help with some experiments."

"Oh?" you cock a brow. "Like what?"

"I'm not too familiar with what spells and potions will work on him in this condition. I'll have to try a few things to learn the extent of his new immunities and resistances. That and he may have some valuable material components I'll need some of his blood, for starters. Sweat, tears, hair... those kinds of things."

"I see. Ben, are you okay with this?" He nods, but you're fairly certain he wasn't really paying attention.

"Ben, you stay here for now. Be sure and behave."

"I will," he nods, walking over to Jenna. You cock your brow as she smiles up at him, batting her eyelashes.

"I'm sure," you say. "Just to note, he has quite an...appetite now. That applies in every respect you might think."

"You don't say," she says, reaching up and placing a hand on his bare stomach. "I might have a remedy for that, too."

"Try not to have too much fun. I'll return either tonight or tomorrow." You turn to leave the grotto, walking out the cave mouth and back towards the tower. 'She's in for a surprise, I think.'

Once back inside, you find Faye and Xerro cleaning up. You look down at the kobold and ask, "Where have you been hiding?"

"Outside, away from him. Worried that he was going to eat me."

"A valid point. Where is Amber now?"

As she straightens out a shelf, Faye says, "I helped her to her room. She's more sociable now."

You nod and head upstairs. You find Amber in her bed, resting lightly. You sit on the edge of her bed and gently stir her. "Are you alright?"

"You didn't... warn me..." she whispers. Her face is still somewhat flushed and her forehead is sweaty.

"What did he do to you, exactly?"

"Gods... what didn't he do?" She closes her eyes. "He destroyed me. I'd want to kill him if it wasn't so good... Nobody has ever done that to me before."

"I'm looking into ways to stop that from happening again."

Suddenly she grabs your arm. "No! No, Mary, listen to me -- we NEED to keep Ben this way."

"What? Calm down and listen to yourself. He's out of control and needs to be reigned in."

"But you aren't going to cure him, are you? Like we talked about?"

"I don't know yet."

"Because I've changed my mind on the matter. He's stronger and faster now... We sparred, and he beat me. You don't understand, Mary, he beat me soundly and I was actively trying to win, and then he claimed me. I had never felt more alive!"

You smile and almost laugh at how desperate she seems. "Is that so? You don't think his personality has gotten a little out of hand?"

"We can control it," she says. "I've heard of warriors controlling lycanthropy before."

"And what if he loses control completely and kills someone close to him?"

She swallows, apparently not quite having considered that. "You're probably right," she sighs wistfully. "I'm being selfish. But you need to understand, he was like a monster, relentless..."

You pat her on the arm. "There, there. I understand."

"Just try and relax," you tell her, placing a hand on hers. You sit her back and ask, "What about Alex and Bargum? What happened to them?"

"I told Bargum about what was happening. He saw the state that Ben was in and decided to take Alex into town for a few days to stay with that paladin, Lightguard. Probably for the best..."

"Indeed. Don't worry, though, I have a plan to control Ben's new urges."

"How? Meat and a lot of women?" she jokes.

"A moonstone. If he has one, he'll be able to completely control his condition. I'm working on getting one."

"That'd be perfect," Amber says. "You should've seen him, Mary. He was great in the fight against those werewolves."

"I caught a glimpse or two."

"He's really turning into something great," she sighs. "I think I'll need some more rest... Where is Ben now?"

"With a friend. Don't worry."

She nods and closes her eyes. As she does this, you subtly cast a few spells on her to see how she is doing. Physically she seems alright, though very weary. Casting your eyes downward, you wonder if Ben's actions could have resulted in another pregnancy. You wouldn't be surprised if he's working on a third at this very moment...

'I'll need more than a muzzle for him at this rate. I'll have to get him fixed.'

Standing up, you walk downstairs where you find Faye sitting and enjoying a drink with Xerro. "How is she?" she asks as you enter.

"Fine, just resting. I've left Ben with the druid, Jenna."

Faye sets her drink down in her lap. "Really? What do you suppose will come of that?"

"Hopefully another potential future asset," you murmur. You have control over Ben, and as such you wonder if this control will spread to the rest of his bloodline. While you aren't sure how comfortable you are with all this unchecked breeding, it may prove valuable in the future if his children could be turned towards your cause as he is. Perhaps even Faye's child; after all, her goal and yours are essentially the same.

The only thing that concerns you is the unpredictability of it all. Raising children takes time and effort, and you'd rather have your allies in a state of constant readiness. Pregnancy hampers this. Then again, there is that spell Faye mentioned, the one that will allow her to go through the entire gestation period in a fraction of the time required.

'Thoughts for later,' you brush them aside. 'For now, I have other things to worry about.'

"We're going to the Gate," you tell Faye. "It's time we confront this hunter."

"I'm excited!" she says, hopping up to her feet. "So, how are we going to do it?"

"You'll remain in hiding at first; perhaps in your spider form. I'll confront him alone and see what his game is."

"Fantastic. When do we kill him?"

"When I say so. But we're NOT going to underestimate him. I've seen him in combat, and he is fast and deadly. We play this defensively, understood?"

"Crystal clear."

You and Faye gather your things and gear, along with enough supplies to last the journey, and set out northwest. Though you have never been to the Gate or the swamp that lies beyond, you have studied the area enough to know where you are going.

The swamp itself is surrounded by an ancient wall belonging to a long-dead civilization. Within it lies an uncivilized marshland of lizardfolk, trolls and other vile things. The green dragon who guards the Gate does so at her whim, keeping things from getting in or out. Despite this, there do exist some gaps in the wall, or so you have heard.

You have encountered the spawn of this green dragon before. You once saw a wyvern take apart a group of bounty hunters, and you were once attacked by a giant green snake and saved by Krom, whereupon you took him to bed. A shiver runs up your spine as you remember that evening; you must have felt what Amber felt earlier.

In your raven form, with Faye clinging onto your back in her spider form, you fly towards the swamp. You land near the ancient structure of the Gate; a massive temple-like archway covered in vines and other forms of flora. The forest grows thick, dark and wet the closer to the swamp, and so when you transform back into your normal form, assuming your true identity as Sirena Le Doux, your feet sink into the mud somewhat. You exhale distastefully as you walk towards the massive clearing in front of the ruin.

You hear noises of battle, and so you hide; Faye does the same, climbing up into a nearby tree. Looking on from behind a collection of thick roots, you see none other than the Witch Hunter himself engaged in battle against several lizardfolk. The saurian humanoids have him surrounded and appear to be trying to capture him, but his swordwork is more than a match for their primitive arms and armor.

Remaining hidden, you decide to simply observe your enemy. He fights with one sword, sometimes two, and makes extensive use of teleportation to remain mobile on the battlefield. Dashing around his opponents, he nimbly cuts them down while showing an impressive array of acrobatic feats. You note that his fighting style incorporates spells when he is wielding only one sword, using the other one to cast -- but without verbal components. In one instance, you see him stab one of the lizardfolk from behind with both swords, withdraw them, backflip over an attack from behind and then teleport mid-air across the field. There, he slides both swords away and casts an explosive fireball with both hands, blasting three of his foes into oblivion.

As one of them runs, he takes out his bow, lines up a shot and simply lets loose his arrow. It flies and hits his target in the head.

'He's fast and moves with great purpose behind each action,' you think. 'Going into battle against this man is suicide.'

From within the Gate comes a great roar, and you think perhaps the dragon herself will appear. But instead it is a giant of a saurian, a greenspawned behemoth with armor and a great polearm, standing twenty feet tall. The titan of a lizard lacks wings, but its mouth drips with green bile, and it sets its sight upon the Witch Hunter, who stands passively. However, the giant doesn't advance beyond the Gate itself; it appears to be a guard of sorts, waiting for the intruder to attempt to enter.

Seeing as how he is waiting for you, it is a stand off.

For the better part of an hour, you simply wait. You watch as the hunter builds a fire and sits, cleaning one of his swords. The massive lizard guard keeps a close eye upon him, but otherwise they do not interract with one another.

'What is he doing? What is his plan? He can't honestly just be waiting for me. Surely he has some kind of trap. Well, I'm not going to spring it...'

From your hidden vantage point you keep your eyes glued upon him, watching his every move. It is only when Faye lowers herself down to your ear on a strand of web and she whispers, "What's going on?" that you stop looking at him.

"I'm waiting to see what kind of trap he's going to spring," you tell her.

A new voice jolts you upwards and nearly paralyzes you. "What trap?"

The Witch Hunter is suddenly crouching on the vines you were hiding behind. You step back. "H-how?! You couldn't have known I was here! I know when I am being scried upon!"

"I didn't scry you," he says, moving into a comfortable sitting position. "Just a lucky guess." He looks around. "So, who were you talking to?"

You remain silent as you stare daggers at him. He focuses on your eyes, and gives you a disarming smile. Him being this close has you on edge. He reaches into his cloak, and you bring up your hand and prepare a defensive spell when it is revealed that he is only taking out a piece of paper.

He unravels it. "You know, they got your picture all wrong. You're really much more beautiful now that I can see you in person." He tosses the wanted poster at your feet. "Certainly much more beautiful than the last two."

"What game are you playing?"

"What game do you think I'm playing?" he replies, somewhat amused at how guarded you are. "You seem nervous. Could it be that I killed the last two Witch Queens? Or perhaps you've seen me in battle, and think you cannot win?" He smiles and says, "Know this, Sirena: above all things, I am a man of my word. I told you that I would not kill you this day. I wanted to meet you."

Slowly you lower your hand, but not your guard. "Alright then, here I am. Why did you want to meet me?"

He pauses for a moment in reflection. "The first Witch Queen I killed was a dark elf. She was kidnapping people, young women mostly, and using them to breed an army of subterranean monsters. Nasty stuff. She tried luring me into a trap, but really I was the one trapping her, and cut off her head while she was explaining her master plan. The next one, her replacement, was a worshipper of chaos. Human once, but not anymore. She was... boring. Anarchy this, disorder that, the hypocracy of society and such... I cut her throat, but didn't behead her. Let her bleed out."

"Is that how you intend to kill me?"

"I haven't decided if you're worth killing yet," he says, which catches you off-guard. "Oh, sure, there's the money involved, and the principle of the thing. But I don't really care about either. I'm talking about the value of the kill itself rather than the reward."

"Then why did you kill the previous two, if not for the money?"

"The challenge, mostly. The sport of it. But in the end they both proved uninteresting. They weren't what I was looking for." He stands up now, and stares into your eyes. "But when I started trailing you, and looking into your history, and piecing together glimpses of what you've been doing... you're not like the others. And I find that interesting. Tell me -- I'm curious, you see -- what is your plan, exactly? Your ultimate goal? The first one wanted to take over the world with her army. The second one wanted to bring about a new dark age. What about you?"

You are silent for a moment, thinking of all manner of things to reply with. In the end, you settle on a single word. "Revenge." Your tone is low, cold and as honest as could be.

"Revenge. Against who?"

"The one who wrongfully framed me for his conspiracy."

"Ah... So you're saying that Mordrax is the true villain, and you are completely innocent? Yet you survived the Black Gauntlet and became the Witch Queen of Aran."

"It's true, I'm no saint. I seek power because I have been wronged. Becoming the Witch Queen has given me power, yes, but all the power in the world means nothing to me if I cannot use it to achieve my revenge. Everything else is secondary to that."

Before he can reply, you add, "And along the way, I might even end up saving the world. The ones I have set myself against? REAL bastards. The royal court wizard who framed me; he still seeks to take over the kingdom and used me to get closer to the royal family. The other? The resurrected moon elf that destroyed all of civilization last time around; I'm sure you've heard that she's kidnapped the high elven princess. I've met her and I've fought her. Oh, and there's an entity of darkness after my soul, one that I have seen visions of attacking the world and only me stopping it. If you're looking for enemies... I have them. They're challenging. They're sport-worthy. As much as it sickens me to say, I'm small-time compared to the real threats. I like to study magic and relax, but above all other things... I want my revenge."

He folds his arms and leans back against a tree. "Now that... is interesting. A villain who sets herself against other villains."

"Maybe I'm not a villain."

"Nobody is in their own story. You yourself said you aren't a saint. I've seen evidence of some of the things you've done..."

"Like what?"

You expect him to list your crimes, but he doesn't. "Like save Bridge Town from an infernal mayor. You also helped elect a good man, and promote the safety of a magic well. A family linked to kidnappings is gone, and its new patriarch is working hard to support the town. A coven of witches has vanished."

"How do you know all of this?"

"Hints, clues, hunches. You've actually been doing a number of good things, Sirena, which is why I am inclined to believe your story of betrayal... Then there are the barbarians that were destroyed by a mysterious plague. Yes, this let orcs into the region, but has had other good side effects. For example, there is their former king. He's dedicated himself to a new cause, become something of a hero in the making... but he's been captured."

"What? Captured?"

"Yes. By the dragon who guards the Gate. That's why I've brought you here. If you are what you say you are, what you claim to be, then you'll help me free him."

"Show me evidence of his capture."

"Just do what I did, and scry upon him. You've met him, after all."

As you take out your orb, you ask, "Since you seem to know so much, answer me this: did you always know I was Mary?"

"No. I had my suspicions, but that just confirmed it."

You scowl. 'Damnit. He led me right into that one.' With a breath of resignation, you place your hands upon the orb and focus. A visage of Krom appears, and he is in chains, thick enough and enchanted enough to keep his demigod strength at bay. He is underground, in some kind of dungeon, and surrounded by snakes and lizardfolk, though they keep their distance from the great man.

"What do they intend to do with him?"

"The green dragon means to breed with him," the Witch Hunter replies. "She has taken many mates and produced countless offspring of different sizes and shapes." He points with his thumb over his shoulder. "Like that big ugly one back there."

"I've seen other versions of her children," you reply. "But why would a dragon lower herself to breeding with non-dragons?"

"She's not exactly all right in the head. That, and she is in something of a war with another dragon."

"Another?"

"A black dragon lives in the swamp. He and his blackscale kin do battle with her. All of her children are meant to be used as weapons: footsoldiers, spies, guards, vanguards. These dragons have been at it for nearly a century."

You put your orb away. "And just how do you know all of this?"

"I'm very well-studied," he says with a smug grin. "Now then; capturing this barbarian demigod was no easy task for her. She lost quite a bit of her children, which she intends to take out of him. Demigod-infused dragonspawn under her control could tip the balance of the conflict, and when one of those dragons wins, the entire swamp will be under their control, and all the problems contained within will spill out into the nearby forest and eventually reach places like Bridge Town."

"So, we aren't here to kill the dragon?"

"If we kill one, we'll have to kill both. That's the only way the swamp will stop being a problem. Balance, Sirena. That's what this is all about. I suspect there are quite a few people you've come to care about that you'd rather not see endangered by these dragons."

"What's in all of this for you, anyway?"

"I already told you that I'm not going to kill you today. Like I said, I wanted to meet you. Now I want to see you in action."

"Sizing me up for when you want to do the deed?"

"I still haven't decided the deed is worth doing. Maybe you really are more valuable to me alive than dead."

For a moment, you simply lock eyes with him, until you concede. "Alright, I'll help. You focus on freeing Krom, and I'll handle the dragon."

"Are you certain? I thought it would be the other way around."

"I've dealt with dragons before. Free Krom, and this will be easier for all three of us."

"Fair enough. You cause a distraction wtih that guard in the front and I'll sneak inside."

"Now THAT is what I thought would be the other way around."

"Life's full of little disappointments," he snidely remarks as he draws his swords. "So, shall we?"

You pause for a moment and consider Faye. She's been here the whole time, and he's still unaware she exists. Perhaps that is an advantage you'd like to keep... but having her help you could be invaluable in a battle like this.

Looking at the large saurian creature, you frown in thought. How best to distract him? At first you conjure up a man, who runs forward and waves, but much like how the guard treated the hunter earlier, it pays him no heed.

'Well, he did mention the conflict these dragonspawn are having with a black dragon. So...'

Preparing your greatest illusion spell, you pour all of your focus into conjuring up the image of a black dragon. It charges into the clearing and roars at the guard, challenging it. This does more than get the guard's attention; it charges towards your illusory beast!

"Nicely done," he compliments you as he dashes out from cover. You follow him as best you can, but he is much faster. You command your dragon to dance around the area, keeping the guard busy while you both run into the Gate. This stone structure is like a massive hallway, broken up by debris and massive roots and other plants growing freely in some areas, through which you can see the swamp on the other side. Knowing that to stay out in the open is to invite trouble, you hide behind a fallen pillar.

The Witch Hunter dashes somewhere below, vanishing into a passageway.

'Now I just need to find that dragon,' you think. 'Where would I nest if I were a green dragon?'

Finding a staircase on the opposite side that leads downwards, you carefully make your way into the flooded ruins below the Gate. Soon you are up to your waist in murky water. 'At least it is warm,' you think, trying to ignore how disgusting it is.

A chamber up ahead is well-lit, and so you investigate. You find yourself in a room with many eggs; white ones, green ones, white ones with green spots, green ones with white spots, and so on. They are kept submerged in the water, likely due to its warmth. Picking one up to examine it leads you to think, 'Eggs. What a perfect metaphor for all that's been going on lately. Ben knocking girls up left and right, the red dragon in Aran, Francis agreeing to help me just to put a baby in me. I just want my revenge! I never asked to start a gods-damned daycare center.'

Just then, you hear a coiling noise and look further into the chamber. A half-man-half-snake emerges, covered in green scales. His snake section, starting at his waist, is very long and allows him to curl about the pillars of the room. He fixes yellow eyes upon you. "What do we have here, hmmm? A tasty and plump-looking morsel if ever I've seen one."

"Was that a crack at my breasts?" you ask, dropping the egg into the water.

"Tread carefully! I am the guardian of this nest, mortal. Harm but one egg and you'll know death!"

"And if I don't?"

"You look like you would make a fine breeder yourself," he sneers. "I am certain the barracks would love to get their hands on you."

'There it is again! Enough of this!' You crack your neck and fingers. "I'm not the having-kids type. Certainly not interested in becoming a breeder for a bunch of inbred mutant dragonspawns that live in a swamp. So, you tell me where your mommy is, and I won't have to break every egg in this room."

He hisses, poisonous venom dripping from his fangs. "You won't get the chance!" He moves to attack!

Put simply, his teeth break. He recoils in pain, holding both hands up to his wide mouth as he screams and hisses, tail thrashing about the room, disturbing the water and the eggs.

"Careful, you may break an egg," you tease.

"SILENCE, WHORE!" he hisses, which you are surprised he can still do what with the broken teeth and all.

'First and foremost, I'm tired of this water business.' You cast water stride and step up onto the liquid. 'Next, there is no way I'm carrying all of these eggs.'

With the flick of a wirst, a waggling of your fingers and the saying of a spell, you conjure up a servitor from Aran. The hooded, faceless and nameless figure awaits your command. "You! Carry these eggs to a room upstairs. A dry one with flat enough space for one of my teleportation circles." He bows and begins carefully taking the eggs up. As he does, you cast feather fall upon them to ensure that they will not break. 'Ah, I love having minions.'

When this is done, you prepare to leave the lower levels when a voice calls out to you from behind. "I would stop what you are doing if you value your life."

Thinking that perhaps the foolish snake man has returned, you instead turn to see a near-human reptillian warrior wearing a green mask with a matching ninja-like tunic appear from the shadows, decloaking as it were, not unlike a chameleon. His eyes are bright yellow, glimpsed from the slit in his black mask. Beneath his green scales, tense muscles can be seen.

"And you are?" you ask, raising a brow.

"I am the greatest warrior and assassin in my mother's army. You may call me Usai." He brings up two hands that end in claws and holds them in front of himself in a monk's combat pose. "And I will stop you."

"You wouldn't be the first to try, but I must say, you do seem more developed than the other greenspawn creatures I have come across."

"I am not like the others. My mind is as sharp as my claws, and just as deadly. If you surrender now I will bring you to my mother and she will judge your fate."

"I'm the least of your concerns right now," you say with a smile. "As we speak, a companion of mine is freeing your mother's new prized prisoner."

His yellow eyes widen. "You're bluffing. And even if not, it doesn't matter. I can bring you in right now."

'Hm. This one likes to talk, and even seems a bit green... in more ways than one.'

"Do you truly think you could defeat me? I am Sirena Le Doux, the Witch Queen of Aran. I command the power of an entire realm. What can you do? Eat flies?" Behind you, your minion busies himself with the ritual, preparing the teleportation circle.

"Mm, yes, I am rather soft," you say, trailing your hands up your sides. "And VERY supple."

"What... what are you doing?" he asks in confusion, lowering his hands slightly.

"Have you ever seen a creature such as I, little lizard?" you ask in a slightly sultry tone. Cocking your hips to one side, you bury your hands in your hair and thrust your chest outwards slightly. With a smile, you wink at him and place your back to a wall, hiking one leg up to rub your thighs together. "You said you're cold-blooded? I bet you'd like to feel nice and warm, wouldn't you?"

His eyes go wide, but then he shakes his head. "You're trying to distract me! It won't work!"

Nearby, your minion finishes his task, whereupon he moves the eggs into the center. You smile and tell him, "It already has." With a flash of light, your minion and the eggs all disappear. The saurian fighter shields his eyes, and when he looks up he sees that the eggs have been taken.

"No!" he shouts. "I've failed!"

"Win a few, lose a few," you shrug. "Now then, if you could show me to your mother..."

"I'll... I'll bring her your head!" he says, leaping to attack!

He clears the distance between you both fairly quickly; before you can pop off a spell, he's tackled you to the floor. Now straddling you, he sits up.

"Now I'll... I'll..." His voice trails off as he looks down at you and your heaving chest, suddenly much closer than before.

'Gotcha.' You cast grasping tentacles on the ceiling behind him. They reach down and take hold of him, yanking him up off of you.

"Hey! Gah, let me down! I'll kill you!"

"You're not in a position to kill anyone, little lizard," you tease him. You lower his face down to yours and pull down his mask. "Sleep tight," you whisper before casting a spell of sleep upon him. His yellow eyes grow tired, his struggling ceases and he is soon fast asleep. You put a hand on his face and examine him. 'Hm. Not too bad. Clearly one of the more fruitful of the dragon's offspring; a potentially valuable asset. But young and inexperienced; he was defeated by my breasts. He'll need some work.'

Your tentacles lift him over to the teleportation circle, where you send him to Aran. 'Fret not, Usai. You'll come to love me just as much as the others.'

With that business concluded, you pause and consider your next move.

Returning to the grand hall, your eyes look back to the entrance to behold the appearance of a great green dragon. She flies in from over the swamp, emerald wings shining in the sunlight as she touches down and moves into the wall. She's massive, a truly impressive sight to behold, with great frills and horns surrounding her head and a row of spines down her neck. Her wings fold inward, as she cannot take flight within the hall itself. You can already see lesser green creatures making way for her; she is the master of this place.

Unlike any of her children, she is without flaw. Striding forward on four legs, wings folded close to her body and tail swishing behind, she surveys her children arrayed before her.

"I have heard whispers of intruders in my domain!" she says to them, and a multitude of hisses and cries answer her. "I want them found! Brought before me! They will know what it means to tread upon ground belonging to a superior being!" Her many children begin to spread out in search of you and your ally.

'I wonder how he's doing. Has he freed Krom yet?'

Your answer comes in the form of a massive barbarian breaking through a stone column, carrying two lizardfolk by their necks. He roars and hurls them in the direction of the green dragon. "FOUL WYRM! YOU THOUGHT TO CHAIN ME? HAVE AT YOU!"

Krom lifts off in an incredible leap, soaring towards the dragon. With a flick of her tail, she smashes him out of the air, sending him crashing to the ground in a pile of rubble. The Witch Hunter appears where he initially broke out from, muttering a curse under his breath as he stabs a lizard archer in the back.

'I take it Krom didn't want to leave quite yet,' you think.

'This is a problem,' you think as the battle unfolds around you. Krom kicks off the stone that had fallen atop him, getting back up on his feet.

"YOU THINK THAT WILL STOP ME? HAAAAAAAH!" Grabbing a large rock, he turns and hurls it at the dragon, who ducks underneath it. One of the lizardfolk leaps in front of Krom, but the barbarian king merely grabs him by the leg and lifts him up like a weapon. He charges at the dragon, swinging the lizardfolk like a battleaxe to knock two more out of his way. Watching him work is really quite something; at least until the green dragon steps on him with her foreleg.

"Puny little demigod," she hisses, leaning her head down towards him. Krom's head is sticking out between two of her large claws. "You haven't fulfilled your purpose yet. You will give me strong children!"

"My blood is not made to mingle with foul swamp-dwelling lizard pond scum!" he shouts back, and this enrages the dragon. The Witch Hunter suddenly teleports atop her head and stabs downwards, causing her to shout and rear back which frees Krom.

Seeing your chance, you run up to Krom. "Quickly! We must leave!"

"I'll do no such thing, not while that dragon draws breath!" He looks back up at you and then pauses. "Say... have we met? You seem familiar."

"That doesn't matter right now. The green dragon can wait another day! We must escape!"

"I can take the beast!" he shouts, standing up. "The foul wyrm has offended me, and must perish!"

Thinking quickly, you change into your guise of Mary and cast a spell upon him to calm his emotions. He pauses and turns around. "Mary? Is that you?"

"Krom, we are exhausted. We're in no condition to finish off that dragon."

He averts his eyes, then closes them. "You are likely correct. My blood is running hot, but I am not thinking. I have sworn to kill that dragon..."

"Then you needn't do it alone. I know others who could help you."

He sits down on a nearby log as the Witch Hunter teleports into the area. "I hate to interrupt the conversation, but we should probably leave before--"

Nearby, at the mouth of the Gate, the green dragon bursts into the clearing with a furious roar.

"Let us run!" Krom says, wasting no time in picking you up and throwing you over his shoulder.

"Ah! Hey!" Your protest falls upon deaf ears as the barbarian and the hunter take off into the woods. After several minutes of non-stop running, the three of you take cover in a thick grove, whereupon Krom sets you down.

"Is everyone alright?" the hunter asks.

Krom walks over to a nearby tree and resists the urge to tear it out from the ground. "The green dragon yet lives. Still I am denied my revenge."

"Revenge can take time," you say, and you look over at the Witch Hunter. "It is also best pursued with allies."

"I must go my way alone," Krom insists. "I must attone for my people."

"You weren't the one responsible for the death of your people," the Witch Hunter says. For a moment, you think he is about to implicate you, but then he continues, "he lies further in the swamp. I know you seek to kill the green dragon to reach him, but you must understand that to do so would upset the balance of the swamp and allow the black dragon to expand his territory. We mustn't allow that to happen."

"Then what?" Krom snarls. "I am to forever be denied my revenge?"

"Either we kill both dragons, or find a way to lure your foe out of the swamp," he calmly explains.

'This hunter has learned much. I wonder how...'

"I think it is a good idea, slaying the dragons. But we're not ready yet. Krom, that beast had you at its mercy and was going to force herself on you."

"The thought is repulsive," he mutters. "How would that even work?"

"She would likely take on a more human-like form."

"That... is slightly less repulsive. But she is still a dragon! What kind of fiend would willingly lay with one?"

'Well, I did introduce you to Francis already... but I should probably not point that out.' You clear your throat. "Either way, I think it would be best if you were to lay low for a while."

Krom considers your words. "Very well. I have been fighting for some time, and have not taken the time to enjoy food, drink and rest. It would be wise to let my wounds heal."

"On that note, I think I'll take my leave," the Witch Hunter says. "Krom. 'Mary.' I imagine I'll see you again soon."

"Wait! Where do you think you're going?"

"I have some other business to attend to. Are you worried about our discussion earlier? Don't be. I haven't made up my mind... yet." Sliding his sword into his sheath, he turns around and walks away. "I did get what I wanted today, though."

"And yet I still haven't gotten your name."

"Next time."

"Next-Time isn't a very good name."

He chuckles, but keeps going on his way. You are left alone with Krom once more, and turn to see him staring at you.

"I will require a bed," he says bluntly.

It doesn't take long to reach Francis' tower, the nearest structure that could reliably contain the barbarian. Outside, the stone hut of Solomon can be seen. The golem pokes his head out.

His pleasant voice reaches your ears. "Hello again. It is nice to see you."

"Solomon, this is Krom. Krom, this is Solomon."

The golem holds out its stone hand. "You are a very large man."

"And you are a rock," Krom replies, shaking his hand. "Though you are the first I have met that can speak."

"I have also not found any other rocks that speak."

Krom smirks. "I usually throw rocks. If they could speak, they would likely object."

"Perhaps they still do, but you cannot hear them. I know I would not like to be thrown."

You cough into your hand. "As fascinating as this conversation about rocks is, I need to talk to Francis. Is he home?"

"He has left," Solomon replies. "He mentioned running an errand, and told me to not let any strange women into the tower."

"Well, he's not a woman, and I'm not strange. May we go inside?"

"That makes sense."

You approach his door and open it, finding his tower in the same condition as before, just without Francis in it. 'Where has that horny little archmage gone off to? Well, this is a better place than most to keep Krom for a while. At least here he won't cause any major damage.' You look back up at the barbarian. "I hope you don't mind staying here for a while."

"I suppose my enemies would never think to look for me in a weakling wizard's tower," he replies. "This will do for now."

You take out the orb that Francis gave you for communication, but find that the orb it connects to is still upstairs. 'He won't take that, but he'll take the Codex Arcana with him. Figures.' You sigh and head downstairs, assuming that the archmage will eventually return. You find Krom in the living room, starting a fire. You sit in one of the chairs facing it and watch the large barbarian go about his work. It would be a trivial matter to start a fire with your powers, but you doubt he would see it that way.

He finishes rubbing sticks together and creates flame, which spreads to the rest of the firewood. He stands up and stretches. "Is there any food here?"

"I don't think so. I don't actually know what he eats; he may just conjure it up." You take out your pack and offer him some dried meat; he takes it and chows down. "You could say thank you, it would be polite."

"Manners do not agree with me," he says with a smirk, wiping his lips clean. "Tell me: that form you took earlier, in the temple. Is that your true self?"

"Perhaps it is," you say, turning back into Sirena.

"I thought I recognized you. I am very familiar with your body."

"And I with yours," you say with a smile. "What do you think of my true face?"

"I do not know why you seek to hide it. You are even more beautiful in this form."

"Because there are quite a few people who wish to kill me. Hiding is my best option for now, and hiding in plain sight is the best way to hide."

"And why do they want you dead?"

"I was framed for a crime I did not commit. An evil wizard was once my master, but no more. Now I seek revenge upon him."

"I see. There is more to you than I thought, Mary."

"And what did you think before?"

"That I could have used your company more often." He strides over to the couch and picks you up in his arms. "You have been on my mind of late. It seems we are fated to continue meeting."

"That's not so bad a fate," you say with a smile, placing a hand on his chest. He brings his hand to the back of your head and presses you in for a kiss. As you return it, your mind begins to wander. 'Wait... I left Faye back there, didn't I? And what about Ben, and the new arrivals in Aran?' Breaking the kiss, you lean back and say, "Krom, wait."

"Hm?" He pulls back slightly. "What?"

"I need to get ready. Uh... 'freshen up' if you will."

"You didn't need that last time."

'Stubborn barbarian...' Slipping in a spell of lewd suggestion, you slyly imply, "Well, if you wait, I promise to make it worth your while."

"That's more like it. Does the wizard have a bed?"

"Yes, but I think we would break it."

"Then it shall be broken," he snarls, setting you down and walking upstairs. As he walks, he discards his belt and loin cloth.

You stop swooning over your future ravishing and focus on what's important. Taking out your orb, you focus on Ben. Fortunately you find him fast asleep, in a soft-looking moss bed with a woven grass blanket. Jenna is nearby, humming to herself as she works over a pot, brewing some kind of potion with the ingredients that Hamlet fetched for her.

'Well, at least he is alright,' you think. 'She seems to have the situation under control. Let's chek in on Faye...'

The image in your orb shifts and changes until you catch a glimpse of a spider. 'She's still in her transformed state?' Everything around her is fuzzy, though. It is strange, almost like she is in the middle of a region of anti-scrying...

Suddenly your mind lights up in realization. 'She... She is with the Witch Hunter! She must have crawled onto him when he wasn't looking and is now spying on him! That's either brilliant or suicide! I suppose that depends on if she is caught... but if she isn't, the intel she could gain about him would be invaluable!'

You can't break her cover. You cut the spell as quickly as possible, leaving her on her own. She'll have to be careful...

Now that things seem settled, onto the matter of Krom.

During the course of the night, you take more control than you did last time, and you begin to work spells into his mind. You place yourself at the forefront of his desires, becoming the object of his lust, and in so doing you whisper suggestions into his ear that take root. You want Krom to help you on your quest, but you know that branding him, at least this early, could fail. So for now you rely on your body and your other spells to bring him under your thrall.

And the bed did, in fact, end up breaking; two of its legs snapped in half.

In the morning, you roll out of bed, leaving the naked barbarian behind as he snores. You slip a robe on and walk downstairs, only to be confronted with a very angry-looking Francis. He fixes burning eyes upon you from behind greasy bangs.

Through gritted teeth, he says, "Hello, Sirena. Sleep well last night?"

"No need!" He throws up his hands and turns away. "No, I get it. I do. He's giant, he's got great muscles, he's probably wielding a +5 greatclub of womb-bruising, what's NOT to love, RIGHT?!"

"Calm yourself! He'll wake up."

"Oh, pardon me." He casts a spell of silence surrounding you both. "There, now the BARBARIAN you FUCKED in MY BED won't wake up." He walks over to a nearby desk, grabs a bunch of papers and throws them up into the air.

"Francis! Stop being childish. You've slept with at least a dozen women."

"Oh, please. At LEAST two dozen, and I'll have you know they all bloody LOVED it!"

"I know you're upset--"

"You are SOME piece of work, you know that? I mean, in MY home, in MY bed! I don't even like the guy!"

"I'm not pregnant, Francis! I made a deal with you, didn't I?"

"That's not the point here! It's about the principle of the matter!"

"Don't lecture me on principle, Mr. I-Raped-A-Dragon."

"I raped that dragon for YOU! You're WELCOME!"

You're about to snap at him in frustration, but instead you close your eyes and take a deep breath. "Alright, look... Let's just... take a deep breath, okay? Let's relax."

"Relax? What, do I seem on edge? I'M VERY CALM, I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW!" He summons one of his chairs to slide across the flood behind him and sits down in it. "And to think, I was gone last night doing dirty work to get YOU some valuable information, and what do I come home to find? Honestly, Sirena, I don't even think I should give it to you at this point."

You let out another deep breath. "Alright, look, you're right. I'm sorry. It was wrong of me to come into your home while you were away and do what I did; I violated your trust."

He doesn't reply, but he doesn't seem exactly pleased.

"I tried to get in contact with you, but when I couldn't, I still shouldn't have done what I did. I'm a very selfish person, Francis. That's who you're throwing your lot in with."

"Yeah." He looks off to the side and scowls.

"Look... What do you want? How can I make it up to you? Before you ask, no, I'm not going to change my mind on having a kid before I get my revenge."

"Let me think," he says, still not making eye contact. After a moment or two of silence, he looks back at you. "First, some established rules. One: no more bringing people into my house and banging them, unless they're chicks."

"Why am I not surprised?"

"Two: I don't want that barbarian around."

"See... I was kind of hoping to leave him here for a while."

"Oh you must be high," he laughs. "After THIS?"

"Look, he's useful. I want to use him for our plans."

"Oh, now it's OUR plans? I wasn't aware that OUR plans involved fucking a barbarian in my bed."

You fold your arms. "Look, I already apologized for that."

"And I'm telling you how to make up for it. Second rule: I don't want the barbarian in my tower. What am I supposed to do with him? Entertain him? He and I may as well be from different planes of existence. I doubt he can even read."

"Any more rules, while we're at it?"

"Yeah, one more condition. From now on, you start treating me like a team member and not like a minion. If you want my help with something, you need to make sure I know everything about what it is. This is my house and those are my rules. We're partners, Sirena. You aren't my master."

He stands up and straightens his robe. He walks over and offers his hand. "So, do we have an understanding?"

>I agree to your terms.
>Listen, I really need to keep Krom somewhere that he won't cause a lot of trouble in. If not here, then help me find an alternative.

"Baby, the only 'but' I want right now is yours."

Your brow furrows. "BUT! I really need to keep Krom somewhere that he won't cause a lot of trouble in. If not here, then help me find an alternative."

He lets out a deep sigh. "Okay. Fine. How about... A nice island? Another plane of existence? Or the realm of dreams? Perhaps I could put him in a maze with a minotaur."

"Nothing that will kill him, Francis."

"I know. You tell me: where should I put him? You'd probably know where he would like to go. He'd fit in well with the northmen or the amazons."

"What about another plane of existence? But you need to understand, we need to be able to reach him at my convenience."

"There are a few that spring to mind. We could send him to the eternal battlefield; he'd have fun there. Or the savage beastlands, perhaps. I suppose you don't want to send him to hell, or the abyss... I'd suggest Zendikar, but nobody wants to go there."

"We'll send him south... A nice island, perhaps. I understand that there are societies of warrior-women there, yes? I fought one during the Black Gauntlet."

"Yeah, amazons. He'll fit right in." He snaps his fingers. "Alright, done."

"Wait... what? Did you just send him?"

"Hm? Oh, no. That'd be neat though, wouldn't it? I never got that far in conjuration, but I do have someone who can take him. Let me see if I can find her."

"Oh, gods... You don't have ANOTHER woman in a bottle somewhere, do you?"

"No, no, not at all. Speaking of which, how is my genie doing?"

"Faye still has possession of the lamp."

"Ah, I see." He starts digging through the various papers. "Let's see here... Ah-hah, here we go." He takes out a scroll and looks it over. "Give me a moment, would you?"

He clears a spot on the floor of paper and junk and proceeds to cast a spell. A thick purple smoke begins to rise from the floor, spiraling into a large form. Your nostils are suddenly hit with the smell of the jungle, and a large dark fist flies out of the smoke and wraps around Francis' neck, hoisting him upwards.

The smoke clears, and to your amazement an eight-foot-tall amazonian warrior stands before you, wearing a jungle cat upon her head and carrying a shaman's staff. Her body ripples with muscle; you're fairly certain you could cut meat on her abs. "Hello, little wizard," she says to Francis in a deep voice.

"GAH! S... Sirena, this is... Valas... Valasca!"

"I take it you two know each other?"

The warrior woman now turns her head to consider you. "Hm. Small and weak, but good hips and large teets. You would make a fine breeder, but poor hunter."

"Thank you... Would you mind putting down the little wizard?"

She shrugs, and sets him down. Francis gags a bit as he tries to breathe. After a moment, he straightens up. "Nice to see you again too, V."

"Why have you called me so far north, away from home? This land is like playground. Return me to the jungle."

"After a moment, please. We need you to take someone back with you. A man."

"He weak like you?"

"Not exactly," the archmage mutters.

"So, how do you two know each other."

Francis speaks up. "Well, that's a long story, we don't really need to--"

She cuts in. "Little wizard come to islands long ago. Help defeat a great evil. Sought to breed with one of our women, but tradition dictates physical combat in mate selection. He could not defeat even the youngest of our women. Many laughs were shared."

"I can only imagine," you say, smiling at Francis.

"Can we just get this over with?" he asks, annoyed.

"One moment. What manner of powers do you amazons have?"

"I am a shaman, and a warden of the spirits of my tribe. I call upon great powers of the earth, the sky, the sea and the volcano, as well as the primal guardians of my ancestors. I am a hunter as well, for one must hone their body as well as their mind: that is where true mastery of self comes from."

"Fascinating. I've read about the schools of shamanism, but I have next to no knowledge of them. Would you be interested in teaching me?"

"In my society, nothing is ever given. It is earned in fair exchange, or offered in tribute from respect, but respect must be earned first."

Just putting it put there.

We could probably make Francis feel better by doing Anal. He did say he wants our Butt.

And honestly he's been one of the more decent people. Despite being . . . . Him.

We could point out that he's played his fair share of cruel pranks on us when we stayed over. That this was just us playing that game a bit as well.

Then tell him that if he wants something more serious, he's one of the few people we would consider that with. We know he can be a very different person when he isn't playing around.

Just something to consider. Lust is fine. But respect? That's fucking gold. Anyways.

> You realized you missed out on the chance to have the child of a powerful Archmage in your tribe? Maybe one of your women could have fought a little bit less hard.

"I'm interested in learning more of your culture... Tell me, what is it like for the women to rule over the men? Do you take them as husbands?"

"Husband? I know some of the culture of you notherners, for many of you have travelled south, but we do not take 'husbands' in our society. We amazonian women outnumber our men, and so a union is between two women and one man. He is the house servant; the two women are the 'husbands'."

"You mean wives."

She shrugs. "I care not. There are no easy words in your tongue for what we call them... Bonded, beloved, perhaps."

"Ah, I see... The traditional gender norms are reversed. Then this house servant, he lies with both women?"

"It's not that great of a deal for their men," Francis speaks up.

Valasca continues, "When it comes time for him to provide children. Otherwise he is not allowed. Do not make mistake and think he is treated badly; he is still in union with the bonded women."

"And in this three-person-union, your population has still managed to stablize?"

"Stable is a good word for it," Francis nods. "They haven't grown in number, but haven't shrunk either. Somehow they've managed to stay the same size for generations."

"We are strong. The land we live in is harsh, full of great beasts. Our tribe is the right size for our home."

"Do there exist exceptions to your unions?"

"The union is tradition."

"Well, here in the north, where we have a very large population, sometimes unions are between only two people."

"Your lands have no shortage of men or women. Our island has more women than men. The union is our answer to this problem."

"I see... I'm still interested in learning more about your magic. Perhaps I could help you or your people in some way. Are there any problems you are currently facing?"

She seems surprised. "Northerners usually not care. Or they are men, and only care about breeding with our women, like little wizard. Never a woman from the north offer to help."

"So there is a problem, then?"

"Outlanders trying to take our home. Invaders from afar. They do not care for our ways or that we were on the island first. They want it for..." She struggles with the word. "Things. We have 'things' on our island and they want them."

"You mean resources."

She nods. "They kill our animals, take our food and fruits, steal stones from the earth. They would take the very ground from beneath us if we did not resist them."

"Perhaps my friend Krom could help you. I seek asylum -- safety -- for him, and your island may be just that. Come upstairs, I will show you him."

She follows you upstairs. Just to keep the conversation simple, you cast a spell of sleep upon him. "There he is."

Her eyes widen. "He is so large! No man on our island is like this!"

"Not many up here are, either. He is a great warrior."

"A great warrior... I do not know if we can take him," she says. "It is foretold in the legends of my people that one day, a great warrior man will change our way of life forever; he would unite all the women under him. I do not know if it is him, but if it is, I would be responsible for changing my people. That is a burden I do not know if I can bear."

"Change? For good or for ill?"

"The legends do not say. Only that our way of life may forever change."

"Well... it may also NOT be him, correct?"

"I do not know."

You look down at the man and wonder. 'He could undoubtedly overcome every warrior woman on that island. What if he were to do so, and claim them all? But would he? He has undergone some changes of late... Of course, I could always enthrall him and keep him from doing so... that would preserve their culture and save it at the same time.'

'Hmmm... Perhaps Krom could enslave the tribe and turn them towards his, and therefore my, purposes. But let's see what he has to say about all of this...'

You wave your hand, banish the spell and slap him gently on the face. He awakens with a start before looking up at the amazon with wide eyes.

"Krom, this is Valasca, from the amazonian islands. I need you to keep you somewhere safe; would you like to go to an island full of women like this?"

He looks at you, then at her, then back to you. His answer is simple. "Yes."

"I suppose that settles that," you say. "Krom will help you with your problem."

Valasca nods. "Very well. I shall prepare the ritual of sending." She turns to leave.

"An entire island of women like that?" he asks you again in disbelief. "By the gods..."

"Alright Krom, just treat it like a... vacation. Sun, sand, and lots of giant women. Do as you please."

He moves to get up, almost as excited as a child about to receive a treat, when he stops. "Wait... what of what we spoke? Your revenge and mine?"

"That will come in due time," you assure him. "For now, we just need to keep you somewhere safe, like I said before. What could be safer than an island of amazons?"

"Safe for me, but not for them," he says with a primal grin.

"That's the spirit," you say. "Let's go. Don't worry about the loincloth, you probably won't need it."

As you take him downstairs, Francis is reorganizing some of his papers. "Valasca is outside, preparing the ritual of the--" He sees Krom and throws up his papers. "Oh, great, no pants, that's just fantastic."

Krom smirks. "Hello Francis."

"Bite me, barbarian."

He walks past the smaller archmage and out the door. "Goodbye, Francis."

"I could disintegrate you, meathead!"

You put a hand on his shoulder. "There, there. He'll be out of your greasy hair soon enough."

"Don't push it, Sirena. I feel like I've been very accomodating considering all that's happened."

You and he watch as Krom joins Valasca, who is waving her shaman staff around in a circle while chanting. Solomon also watches as purple smoke begins to leak from the skull on the end of the staff, creating a barrier ring around them that grows with each pass. Eventually the two of them are completely hidden within the smoke, and when it blows away, they are gone.

"I'll have to check in on him from time to time," you say wistfully.

"He'll be fine," Francis mutters, shrugging your hand off of his shoulder. "Just tell me this: do I have to replace my bed?"

"Yes."

He lets out a groan. "That's just the cherry on top."

"Hm..." He scratches the fuzz on his chin.

You put your hands together and give him your sweetest face. "Look, I won't lie, you've done quite a bit for me. How about I help you with something you want to get done for once?"

That seems more agreeable to him. "Well, now that you mention it, I am having trouble with a group of fairies."

"Fairies? What did you do to upset them?"

"It's just a disagreement," he assures you. "But perhaps you could deliver a good-will offering to their leader for me. You're a woman, and a stranger, so they're more likely to listen than to me."

He goes back inside and digs around for a small package. "Here it is," he says, handing it to you. "All you need to do is head straight north and find Trixie's tree hut. You remember Trixie, right?"

"The gnome you knocked up."

"Right. She's friends with the fairies. I'd ask you to leave it with her, but she probably would keep it for herself, knowing Trixie. She can give you directions."

"What are these fairies like?"

"Oh, you know how fey usually are. Tricksters, playful, tend to not really care what other people think of them. They also pioneered the arts of transmutation; they use it for just about everything."

"Really? You don't say."

"Oh yeah. A fairy changes their appearance all the time to suit their mood, and the same goes for their home. Or anything they come across, really. Plants, animals, people... Just be warned, they might try and mess around with you."

"I'll keep that in mind..." Taking the package and putting it somewhere safe, you say to him, "I'll get right on it as soon as I've checked in with my friends."

"Friends, huh? That's what you call them?"

You smile. "It's a polite term."

"Take your time," he offers, and goes back to collecting papers.

Using the teleportation circle in his basement, you return to the tower. It is quiet, at least until you run into Amber. The fiery warrior is dressed in her bed clothes, with her hair somewhat unkempt. "Mary! I can't find Ben anywhere."

"Don't worry. I left him with one of the neighbors who could help him."

"A neighbor... You mean that druid?" Her face turns red. "Do you have any idea what they've probably gotten up to?!"

"A few, yes," you reply with a smirk.

What you didn't expect to happen next is for her to push you up against the wall. She grits her teeth and snarls at you, "Listen here, witch! Ben is mine! I'm the one who loves him."

"A bit possessive now, aren't we?"

"You're just jealous that we're a better match. We're fighters, and you're not. He chose me over you, and I'm NOT into sharing."

Your eyes narrow. 'I think it's time I cleared up a few of her delusions. She's had her fun, now it's time to serve me.'

"What is that supposed to mean? You think I can't handle it?"

"I think yesterday is proof that Ben is growing stronger, too strong for even you. You might not like to admit it, but he has needs, needs that can't be sated by just one person."

"Yeah, well... I'll just have to keep him in line."

You snicker. All the while, your hands are working behind her back, casting spells upon her vulnerable mind. "Cute. You have a problem with sharing, don't you? Perhaps you didn't have many friends to play with when you were younger; you didn't get used to sharing your toys."

"What are you..." Her voice drifts off as her eyes begin to glaze over.

"But you have friends now, my sweet little tart. You're going to have to learn how to get along with others, and share, and play with them..."

Placing a hand on the back of her head, you lean forward while keeping eye contact and kiss her. She meets you with some resistance at first, but slowly it dissolves as she goes somewhat limp in your arms. You smile against her lips as you deepen the kiss, tilting your head while feeling your tongue wrestle with hers. You're not against the wall anymore; you push her back against the opposite wall, pushing your chest up against hers as you pin her to it. And all the while, you pour magic into the kiss, convincing her that she wants this; to let go and relax.

When you break the kiss and attack her neck while massaging her sides, she gasps. "This... this is, it's not right, I..."

"Shhh," you whisper in her ear. "I know you've thought about it. I remember our conversation. You've always been... curious." You turn her head and stare into her lovely blue eyes before kissing her again, pouring more magic on. "You want this. You want me as much as you want Ben. You want to share him with me... and with others. To share him. You want to keep him, don't you? You don't want to lose him."

"I... I..." Her lips trembles. "Will it feel good?"

"Better than anything you've ever known," you say, gently cupping her cheek.

"And... will I still get to have him?"

"Of course."

Utterly under your thrall, she throws her arms around your neck, desperate to partake in this new world.

You bring up a hand and place it upon her mouth before she can kiss you. "I like how eager you are, I really do. But I have something else in mind."

Taking out your orb and spellbook, you open the page to a spell you have never cast before, one you ripped out of Alicia's head. During her research, the dark elf had bound a succubus to serve her, and now you call upon that very succubus now.

She appears in a bout of flame, taking form before you as a light scent of smoke and brimstone reaches your nostrils. She is wickedly beautiful; skin as red as an apple, with bountiful breasts, a lithe figure, wide hips and plump lips. Her eyes blaze yellow-orange, and her devilish features reveal themselves as wings uncurl from her back alongside an arrow-tipped tail. Two horns poke out from a mane of fiery red hair.

"My mistress, you have summoned me and I live to serve," she says with a smile. "I am Alura."

"Of course you are," you reply, taking Amber into your arms.

"Is that a devil?" she asks, suddenly unsure of how she feels about all of this.

"She's our plaything," you say. Amber thinks she is talking to you, but the succubus sees that you are actually addressing her. "Why don't we break her in?"

"Yes," Alura says, licking her lips. She walks over and takes Amber's cheeks into her hands. "Hello, my little strawberry. How sweet you must taste..."

"Mary, I'm having second thoughts!"

You kiss her neck from behind and whisper, "Too late."

The succubus lunges in, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss. Amber struggles, but much like you the succubus has magical properties to match her tender affections, and soon enough the girl stops resisting. You and Alura work quickly to disrobe her and lay her down by the fireplace, which you light with a fire spell.

>...

When it is all over, and Amber lies unconscious from the sheer overload of you and Alura's magic, you sit back with the succubus and giggle over cups of freshly-brewed tea. "She's quite the handful, isn't she?" Alura says, taking a sip of tea.

"You should have seen her when we first met, stomping about the place and acting as if she owned everything."

"A proud and foolish girl. I know the type well."

"I must say, you're not quite what I expected. I never knew succubi could be so sociable."

"We're not ALL about sex. I'm a very active member of my community theater group."

"You don't say? What's that like?"

"I'm a fantastic actress; the shapeshifting helps. Our favorite thing to do is lure unsuspecting mortals into our domain, trick them into thinking they are somewhere else, and seduce them in front of a secret audience. The more pious, the better. We make contests out of it! I have a trophy for this one time when I made an angel fall for me. THAT was a good day."

"That's quite the story. I should tell you about the scandalous things I've done up here."

"Oh, do tell," she giggles.

Nearby, Amber begins to stir.

"She's waking up," you say.

"I have an idea for a game," the succubus suddenly declares with a mischevious look in her eyes. Before you can ask what it is, her hair changes from red to black and grows slightly, her skin turns peachy and her eyes turn blue. Her face changes to exactly mimic your own as her horns, wings and tail vanish.

Amber slowly picks herself up, looking over her shoulder at you... and you. She blinks in confusion as she sits up. The three of you are completely nude, so there is absolutely no difference between you and Alura.

"Uh..." Her eyes go from you to her and back to you. "What's going on?"

"I was just having a nice chat with myself," Alura replies in an exact mimicry of your voice. "Here, have some tea." She hands Amber a cup.

The fighter, not used to having naked tea time with twins whom she just slept with, slowly takes the tea. "One of you is that succubus..."

You smile. "Yes, but which one?"

"Guess right and you'll win a prize," Alura says with a sultry tone.

"What kind of prize?" she asks. She shifts nervously on the rug, slightly covering her freckled chest with one arm.

"You'll just have to find out," you say, giving a wink to Alura.

"I'll need some kind of hint. Otherwise it's just a guessing game."

"No hints," Alura giggles, crawling over to you. She pulls you in for a kiss and Amber watches you make out with yourself. The lip lock grows more heated as her long forked tongue snakes into your mouth, hidden by your lips, and wraps around your tongue. You moan into her mouth. When she pulls her tongue back and looks over at Amber, she points at her and says, "Come on, time's running out."

The redhead is blushing fiercely. "That one," she points at you. "That's the real Mary."

"A good guess," the succubus says. "...but wrong!" You look over at her. Amber guessed correctly, but what game is the succubus really playing at? "I guess that means you'll have to be punished instead." She looks over at you and winks. "What do you think?"

"Don't be a sore loser, Alura. She guessed correctly."

The succubus pouts as her horns pop out of hair raven hair. "Aw. No fun."

Amber breathes a sigh of relief. "So... what do I win?" The succubus begins to crawl towards her on all fours, her long tongue slipping out of her lips. She positions herself at Amber's thighs. "Wait, hold on, I -- Ah! Mmm!"

You stand up and dress yourself with a simple spell as Amber is reduced to a shaking mess. "Keep her busy for a while," you tell Alura. "And don't corrupt her TOO much."

The succubus, her mouth busy at work, gives a hum of understanding. You walk upstairs and leave the tower, heading east to Jenna's cave. You find her and Ben enjoying a nice leafy breakfast along with some fruits and nuts. "Mary! Good to see you," Jenna greets you.

Ben looks up and smiles, but says nothing due to his mouth being full; not entirely unlike Alura back in the keep. "Good morning, Ben. Jenna. How have things been?"

"You'll be pleased to know that I brewed a potion that is helping Ben keep himself in check." She looks over at him as he tears into the fruit. "Well... mostly. I still haven't managed to fix his appetite. But his primal urges are, for the moment, successfully suppressed."

"Fantastic work. What is the potion made out of?"

"Only natural ingredients. It took a while, he was... quite the handful," she smiles and blushes.

"I can only imagine. So, Ben, how are you feeling?"

"Great!" he replies with a smile; some food is stuck in his teeth. He swallows and adds, "These last few days have been a lot of fun."

"I'm glad you're in such a good mood. But we don't know how long that potion is going to last, so we had best get that moonstone as soon as possible."

Taking him by the hand, you lead him up. "Come along now, Ben. I need to take you somewhere."

"Oh, uh, okay... See you later, Jenna! Thanks!"

She gives a friendly wave. "No, no, thank you! Have a lovely day!"

Once you're clear of the cave, you ask him, "So, how many times?"

"I uh, didn't really count," he says sheepishly. "Look, Sirena, I'm sorry. I don't know what's gotten into me. Are you mad?"

"No, not at all. This is just another stepping stone along the path."

Once you are back in the tower, you get Ben all nice and dressed up for a trip north. Knowing that it wouldn't be a good idea to leave a succubus lying around, you send her back and allow Amber a chance to recover. Upon seeing Ben again, she gives him a hug and a kiss. "Ben, there's something I need to tell you," she says.

"Uh, okay. What is it?"

"I know this is going to sound strange, but I'm not jealous anymore."

"...What?"

"At first I was angry that you were spending your time with other girls, but you don't need to worry anymore. Mary helped me understand our situation and make everything clear." She gives him a warm hug and adds, "Just as long as you don't forget about me, you big oaf."

He blinks a few times. "What's going on, exactly?"

You explain, "She's just seen the light, Ben. Don't worry."

"Oh. Okay." He gives her a kiss. "Want to come along?"

"No, just you for now," you tell him. "Amber could use a little bit more relaxation time."

"Yeah... I think so too," Amber agrees. "I'll see you when you get back." She gives him a kiss on the cheek and goes back downstairs.

"I thought she hated the idea of me being with the others, and we were keeping it all secret," he says to you.

"Ben, she just gave you her permission to sleep around. Don't question it."

"Right!" He laughs nervously and scratches the back of his head. "Right... I mean, I never thought it was as exclusive as she did. You were always my first."

"Oh, I know. Trust me on that." You turn back into your disguise as Lady Beaumont and instruct him on what to call you while you are in this form.

A few minutes later, you and Ben use the teleportation circle to travel north to Lady Silverwind's estate. You emerge in her grand hall and Ben whistles as he looks around. "Wow, look at this place! Fancy."

Some of the servants notice your arrival and go to fetch the lady. She arrives in moments. "Lady Beaumont!" She is elated to see you and takes your hand in hers, kissing it. She then considers Ben. "I see you have brought someone new."

"Lady Silverwind, this is Ben Cutter, a local hero. He recently slew a pack of werewolves in the forest not far from your estate."

"Really?" she says, considering the tall human youth. "I am honored to have you in my home. You do us all a service by ridding the world of such monsters."

"Yeah, monsters..." he says with a nervous chuckle.

"Please, would you both join me for an afternoon meal?"

"Yes, please!" Ben says, excited at the prospect.

He's disappointed a few minutes later at the leafy meal he is presented with. He decides to stick with soup and bread. As he eats, Lady Silverwind and you catch up on events during your brief absence. She informs you that she received a letter the night prior informing her that the thieves have still not been found.

"I feel dreadful, knowing that they are still out there," she says in a somber tone. "That wretched dark elf and her kind are a blight upon all elven lands."

"I'm certain they will turn up in the future," you assure her, and your words calm her down. "I have a favor to ask of you, my lady."

"Of course, anything."

"Could you show me your moonstone once more?"

Leaving Ben out in the gardens, you and she walk into her private gallery. Now that you are alone she turns you to face her and kisses you. "I know we were not apart for long, merely a day, but I have longed for your touch."

"I know you are still lonely," you say to her, kissing her hand. "But I will not be able to stay for long."

"I understand," she nods. She leads you by the hand over to the moonstone necklace. "Here it is."

"I need this moonstone, my lady. It is important."

"Were it anyone else asking, I would refuse." She opens the case and takes it out, handing it to you. "Keep it safe."

"I will."

You resolve to spend the remainder of the evening with Lady Silverwind, and even give her a gift of your own. You take the moonstone and give it to Ben, who slips it around his neck. The blue gem sparkles softly as you both wait for something to happen.

"Well? How do you feel?"

"I don't know," he replies. "Normal, I guess?"

"Well... at least you don't feel abnormal or strange. I suppose that's what we wanted."

"Yeah, you're right."

"We'll have to wait until this evening to see if it truly does work as intended... Come along, Ben, let's get to know Lady Silverwind better."

The rest of the time until sundown is spent entertaining Lady Silverwind with tales of Ben's exploits, of his slaying of a giant bat, facing off against vile insects and other fond memories. She's quite impressed with his heroics, due in no small part to the subtle spells you have been working on her.

When the moon rises, Ben stands near the window and stares up at it. The moonstone glows, but he is otherwise normal.

'Fantastic. It's worked. Now we'll need to learn how to harness his newfound powers, but for the time being, a celebration...'

You take her hand into your own and look over at Ben. "He's quite handsome, isn't it?" you ask her.

"Oh, most certainly... for a human," she replies with a polite blush.

"He's not only a great fighter and soon-to-be great hero, either. He's quite a hit with the ladies as well. And these country folk are simply fantastic when it comes to their virility."

She laughs nervously. "Really now, Lady Beaumont, that is hardly appropriate conversation..."

You smile, knowing full well that she can't actually refuse any of your commands.

You refill her glass of wine as you call out to Ben. "Oh, Ben? Come over here and keep us company."

He does as he is told, sitting down next to Lady Silverwind. She smiles politely at him, then takes another drink.

"The good, fair lady has been rather upset of late, Ben. Perhaps you could massage her shoulders."

"Oh, that's quite alright," she says, but Ben again follows your command, reaching up to gently rub her shoulders.

You put a hand on hers. "It's fine, my lady. I insist. Now drink, please."

Having instructed one of the servants to bring a more potent wine, it quickly begins to take effect on her. She loosens up considerably and even laughs as you continue to regale her with tales of Ben the hero. At your behest, he moves his hands further down her back as she takes another drink.

"That feels divine," she whispers, leaning back into his touch. She loses herself for a moment and spills her drink upon her dress. "Oh, dear..."

"We'll have to get that cleaned right away," you say with a smile. "Ben, help me disrobe her."

She protests, but her complaints are half-hearted. You undo the front of her dress as Ben slides it down her body. "Oh, oh my," she says, biting the back of one of her fingers. "This isn't proper..."

"No," you admit, "but we're going to take proper care of you, my lady, and give you what you've always wanted."

"What I've always wanted...?"

"Isn't that right, Ben?"

He nods and smiles, leaning down to kiss the back of her bare neck. You crawl up and attack her from the front.

When morning finds you, it finds you with Ben and Lady Silverwind, clothes and all pretenses of nobility discarded; last night, she was but a woman with a man... and another woman. She was not a high elven aristocrat, but a slave to pleasure, reduced to her basest desires at the hands of a strong lover and an insidious mind. You sit up and stretch, leaving Ben and his newest concubine to rest in her large bed. After last night, the high elf is most assuredly with child; you made sure Ben left his seed in her several times.

You sit down at her mirror and look at yourself. In spite of how wonderful last night was, you find yourself feeling... empty. You frown at the thought. 'What is wrong with me? Things are satisfying me less and less... I am seeking greater extremes to fulfil the lust in my heart. But no matter what I do physically, my soul is not pleased... and I know why. I need my revenge... Until I obtain it, wine will never be quite as sweet, nor will the kiss of a lover. Not until I've righted the wrong done against me.'

Taking a glass of water and downing it swiftly, you pace around the room. 'What I need to do is focus. I have firmly established control over several minions, I have a steady source of income from Bridge Town and my realm, and I have advance agents infiltrating surrounding regions... I am making progress, but I feel like it is taking too long. But I must be patient; if I move too quickly, I could risk everything.'

You set down the glass and pass by the bed, ignoring the human and the high elf, and walk up to the window. 'I've spent enough time on pleasure. Now is the time for business.'

You dress and walk to the teleportation circle on the estate grounds, using it to transport yourself back to Aran. You are met by Sheldrake. "Your highness."

"Sheldrake, I would like a report on recent goings-on."

He takes out a parchment and a pair of thin reading glasses.

"We have received another shipment of prisoners from your river pirates; four women and six men, along with a hefty amount of gold. They kept one woman for themselves, as per your arrangement with them."

"Good. I'll have to stop in and tell Bruut how good of a job he is doing."

"But on a personal note, there has been a letter delivered for you."

"For me? Delivered here, to the citadel?"

"Not specifically. It is addressed to the Witch Queen. Note the singular nature; whoever sent this message is unaware that there are two." He takes out a small note from behind his back and hands it to you.

You inspect it, noting the purple wax seal on the back. You take out a knife and open it, unfolding the paper.

"It is... a formal invitation to a secret society," you say. "A coven of witches." You look up at him. "I'm the Witch Queen. Doesn't that mean they should pay fealty to me?"

He clears his throat. "You are the queen of all that lives in Aran, who happens to be a witch. This does not necessarily make you the queen of witches who are not from Aran."

"Oh, fair enough." You look back down at the letter. "It says here they meet in secret on the following dates, at a location I can reach by using the instructions provided on the back of the letter." You turn it around and see that the inscriptions there detail a teleportation ritual and its coordinates. Turning it back over, you continue, "All who come to the society are under a mutual truce."

"Past Witch Queens have received similar letters."

"Did any of them take them up on the offer?"

"Some. They treated it as an opportunity to meet similar individuals and make allies. Of course, some of those very same allies would conspire to take the title of Witch Queen for themselves, so if you do go, I would be careful whom you trust."

"True... While having witches as allies could be a bonus, they are technically competition. Hmmm..."

As you sit on your throne and lounge for a moment, you think about a more productive use for one of your minions. "Send a servitor to the tower to collect Xerro. He shall be the custodian of the greenspawn eggs."

Sheldrake bows his head. "Very well, it shall be done."

"Good. I noticed you said that Boris was assigned to guard the saurian -- what of my other guards? I ordered Vorkath to assemble and train a force."

"He is currently overseeing the training of ten of the realm's finest warriors. His intent is for those ten to each train ten, to give you a hundred. If each of those hundred trains another ten, you will have a thousand warriors, but I am assured that will take time."

"Who protects the citadel in the meantime?"

"I do," Sheldrake replies.

You have often wondered at the true power of the man who is your butler, for he seems as though a piece of the realm itself rather than a person, but for now you remain silent and trust that he is capable of doing so.

"Very well... see that Vorkath continues his work. Now, what was this matter you brought up about goblins and the plumbing?"

"It seems that a number of them have taken up residence in the sewers of your realm. They are beginning to breed and their living arrangements seem to conflict with the steady flow of sewage, as they construct dams, huts, walls and other things."

"They do not wish to live with the others?"

"Integration with non-goblins is difficult due to biological and cultural differences. Given enough time, these problems could potentially solve themselves as the two populations mingle. You could also designate a section of the realm to be given to them; this would require some reassignment of established living areas and evict some residents, but they can always be placed elsewhere. This does not necessarily solve the segregation issue, but the goblins are already self-segregating as it is."

>Let them proceed.
>Integrate them into the primary population.
>We shall set aside a section of our realm for the goblins to live on the surface; the goblin quarter.

The sooner we nip this in the bud, the better. Also, I don't want to know what a "goblin ghetto" will look like.

"They haven't had enough time to adapt to the realm yet and become shadoblins. Until they do, they will have their own quarter. This will make things easier for when the time comes to transition them into living with the other segments of the population; having them down in the sewer only reinforces their past lives."

"I shall see it done."

"How are the prisoners that Bruut has been delivering faring?"

"The indoctrination is proceeding as expected. They are not strong enough to resist. The men and women will join the population and add some welcomed generic diversity; the population of Aran has been in a slow decline of late."

"I wasn't aware of that. Do the servitors not breed?"

"No, my queen. The shades and normal people can, but servitors cannot. The very nature of the realm drains the strongest emotions from the weakest of your people; happiness, anger, lust. Without such emotions, coupling comes rare."

"Well I don't want to see the goblins outbreed the already-established population. What can we do to start encouraging more children being born?"

"As I stated before, the influx of new arrivals has had a positive effect, but we could always use more breeding stock."

>Focus on importing more outsiders to integrate into the population

Kidnapping women for breeding was what got the Witch Hunter to kill his first witch queen.

Remember when the Witch Hunter talked about one of the last ones kidnapping more girls to breed with? Let's not put ourselves on his radar like that.

You tap your fingers on the arms of your throne. "I don't want the slaves to be breeders, Sheldrake."

"It was the policy of one of your predecessors."

"And it got her killed by the Witch Hunter," you deadpan. "Indoctrinate them into service, but no forced breeding. Instead... encourage it."

"Encourage it?"

"I want family and fertility to be promoted and encouraged," you tell him. "Healthy families, healthy children, a healthy future... I want some things to change around here, and we'll start there. I tire of this gloomy atmosphere; we should lighten things up a bit."

"The realm is a reflection of you and those within it," Sheldrake reminds you.

"I know that. I'm not saying it'll happen overnight. But I want you and my council to start promoting healthy breeding. Hell, make it one of the ways those churches out there can pay fealty to me; fertility rituals. Whoever gets the most women pregnant -- and that's CONSENUALLY pregnant -- will win, I don't know, a prize or something. I'll visit, shake some hands, kiss some babies or pregnant bellies and everyone is happier."

He blinks a few times, and for the first time since meeting him you think you've actually gotten him stumped. "This is... somewhat unorthodox."

"Think of it like this: what will our reputation become if Aran is known as a dark, terrible place where women (and probably men) are forced to breed against their wishes, only to eventually end up becoming faceless shadows?"

"I believe I see. Very well, I shall deliver your demands to the council and begin instituting a fertility-promoting culture amongst your people. I'm certain they will find it quite motivating if we frame it correctly."

"Make it so," you tell him.

Alright, here's what our minions have been up to.

Ir'as the desert priestess, disguised as a foreign traveller, was sent west to the towns of the lake men. She has had some difficulty integrating into the local populace, but has established herself in one of the communities as a fortune teller. While acting as a spy on your behalf, she has begun gathering secrets from people visiting her, wishing to know their future.

Komortha, the northerner, is not a very good actor, and so was sent further north, closer to her home. This has allowed her to find a tribe of northmen, and has been extremely successful in becoming the advisor to the chief of the tribe. Her suggestions now carry more weight than any other advisor in the tribe, and she has already cemented her position by framing a potential rival (who was suspicious of her) and having him killed.

And finally, the formerly-headless Perilynth was sent to the very capital you fled from. So far she hasn't become anything more than a beggar in the streets, but recently found work in a brothel. Despite her undead nature, her customers assume she is just cold and unresponsive; in fact, some of them like it that way. She's working hard but hasn't had much luck.

All three of them are firmly in place and willing to receive either an update or support from your end; otherwise you can pull them out of their current assignment, gain the intelligence they've acquired thus far or send them new orders.

I think Perilynth needs a better job. Would not be against giving her the capital to jump a few tiers in the social hierarchy.
>>

Komortha and Ir'as, they seem to be progressing well

>Pull out of current assignment
perliynth needs a different assignment just not sure where
>>
>>1926360
>>1926412
We NEED someone in the capital to get data, though. Perilynth is just in an awkward position for her.
>>
>>1926433
Still in the capital, but a limp fish whore isn't going to get us good inte;. She would need to be a high end whore for that, but her skills are lacking, so a governess or a seamstress for a noble would be better.
>>
>>1926444
>>1926433

If we give her some special attention or resources, perhaps we could place Perilynth as a handmaid for our old family, perhaps one of our brothers. See what the old Le Doux family is up to from the inside.

Thoughts?
>>
>>1926476
Sure
>>
>>1926476
sure. Though they have wizards, so I assume we take appropriate percautions to hide her undeadness.
>>
>>1926476
Worth a try.

We'll buy some really, really nice perfume. But if things go as planned, they won't even notice the new serving girl.

Anyway gents, let's talk about a milestone. I like to have one every other thread, so I'll award one for all the general achievements in this thread: taking of all the green dragon's eggs, rescuing Krom and getting our hands on the moonstone, etc.

Let's pick a category.

Thralldom
Evocation
Illusion
Holy
Necromancy
Transmutation
Restoration
Elementalism
Shamanism
Druidry

Elementalism

Elementalism it is.

>Advanced resistance to a single element of choice
>Gain an elemental-based transformation
>Enhance pre-selected elemental transformation to level 2
>Gain a SHADOW varient on an existing elemental spell
>Witch Queen Power: Storm of Aran: (Daily Power: Conjure up a great storm which you control. Black clouds will obscure the sky for about a mile around, centered on where you cast the spell. With these clouds, you can cause heavy or light rain, winds strong enough to knock over a person and call down lightning bolts upon targets you specify. The storm itself will last for ten minutes, after which it will dissipate.)

That's because specialization is the key to success with magic.

Otherwise this would be "Shitty bard does nothing and dies quest, with his various lvl 1 shit magic of every flavour".

>>1926714
>Enhance pre-selected elemental transformation to level 2

What's the upgrade to our Air transformation?
>>
>>1928026

Essentially a more powerful version, with its own spells and such, probably greater and faster flight.

Either way, looks like the Storm of Aran it is.

I'll be back with an update after work.

C'est la vie. It's not like SoA is bad at all either.
