Since everyone seems to want it I decided to try my hand at a One Piece Quest! So WELCOME!

TO ONE PIECE QUEST!!

We'll be running off a pretty standard 1d20 Bo3 system to start with but by all means, if someone wants to up the ante or has a better suggestion I am open to ideas. For now though, while the dice system remains a Bo3 system we will still be using the closest thing to a One Piece RP system I could find, which will include a whole bunch of stats, hence THIS!

So to start with, lets choose race!

>Humans: The most populous of all races listed here, humans are much the same in the world of One Piece as they are in real life. Comprising precisely 95% of the population, they are found almost everywhere in the known world, can be anywhere from 2 to even 16 feet large, in a great variety of skin tones, hair styles, and more! Humans have a checkered view however, as their personalities can be just as varied, being both extremely cruel to almost saintly.

Measuring Stick: Humans get a +2 to the normal 20 attribute points.

Gluttons: Gain a +7 modifier on finding devil fruits throughout your adventures! Or even starting out with one!

>Fishfolk: No two fishmen look alike... or so the saying goes. Fishfolk, including Merfolk, are humanoid in at least one aspect of their body, be they bipedal with numerous arms, or have tentacles for feet with a "normal" human torso. They have long been considered by most races to be an anomaly, even outright discriminated against, enslaved for the entertainment of human nobles. Similar in range of size to humans, they call their home Fishman Island, where their King Neptune protects them.

Aquatic Warriors: Gain a +2 to Strength and Constituition (+4 in water!) , but a -2 to intelligence.

Fish Biology: Being born underwater, you not only have gills, but are able to speak and even command a great variety of fish! You may take on an aspect of any piscium organism (that means fish, no marine mammals).

>Giants: As the name would imply Giants are a collasal race of purely humanoid creatures, their great size making them a force to be reckoned with. Their origins can be traced back to the Grand Line, on the barbarian island of Elbaf. Giants are freakishly strong, the largest one being 127 feet tall! Rowdy, unruly, down right crazy. These words do not do Giants justice.

Collosal Size: (anywhere from 32ft to 64ft one average!) +4 to Strenght and Constitution, but -2 to Intelligence, Wisdom, and Dexterity.

Jolly Laughter: +2 Charisma bonus when laughing! HOHOHOHO!!

(1/2)
>>
>Kuja: An all female race of pirate amazons, hailing from the famed "Island of Women", Amazon Lily! Their society revolves around Piracy, and at the center of it all is the stone hearted Snake Princess, who leads the elite of the island known as The Kuja Pirates. Despite their earned reputation however, they are rather peaceful, simply living out their lives on their island. They have very little knowlege of the outsie world, most if not all going their whole life wihtouht ever seeing a man.

Amazons: +2 to Charisma and Dex, but -2 to Wisdom.

Kuja Snake: Start with a snake companion that counts as a weapon!

>Cyborgs: Technically, Cyborgs are not a race of their own, but rather a collection of other races that have been cybernetically enhanced with either mechanical or electrical parts. They usually have greatly exagerated features, like a huge torso or forarms where they hide their implants. While they have no society or culture of their own, they usually just live happy lives as if they were still wholly biological. With tireless legs, enhanced eyes, great weapons, cyborgs are some tough customers.

Mechanical Warrior: +2 to Constitution and Strength, -2 to Charisma.

Need Gas: Must consume at least 1/2 bottle of fuel per day to survive. start with 3 bottles to survive. YOU choose your fuel source!

Implants: Start with 1 cyborg implant, and gain 1 for every 4 levels after. At max level 20 a cyborg will have a max of 6 implants. These can be upgraded, or even custom made!

Human wins it, so now, our class!

This will namely determine how you fight in this world, be it with sword, gun, fist, or even something else!

The classes are as follows,

>Brawler: You don't need a sword or a gun to take the fight to someone, you use your FISTS! With a quick offensive style focusing on speed and power, and a wide range of techniques, the brawler loves to get in close and punish people.
Choose either Gauntlets or Knuckles, start with Blooded (+3 Health each level) and Fierce Strike (+2 to Damage per level!).

>Marksman: Precise and deadly, the Marksman uses a variety of long range weapons to achieve his/her aim. Bows, throwing knives, pistols, rifles. The Marksman is truly on a whole nother level when it comes to ranged warfare.
Choose either Guns or "Alternatives" (slingshots, bows, etc.), start with Lock On! (+4 to hit) and Head Shot (+15 Damage, but a 4 turn cool-down).

>Rogue: Swashbuckling, hard partying drunkards, the Rogues are the very essence of Piracy. Armed with Knives or short swords, they specialize in stealth and underhanded tactics. Poisoning, ten on one situations, lying, cheating, there is nothing a rogue won't do to get a leg up.
Choose either Knives, Cutlasses, or Exotic Weaponry, Start with Sneak Attack (+20 damage while in stealth) and Black Market Connections (you have access to information and equipment you otherwise wouldn't.)

>Swordsman: another very common class, the swords man is self explanatory. This class can wield any thing from 1 sword, 2, 3, even 4! With said swords they can slice and dice enemies that would normally be twice their size, some swordsmen have even been known to cut down whole mountains!
Choose either Western Swords or Eastern Swords! Start with Counter (take half damage and deal x2 damage to opponent) and Side/Back of the Blade (deal blunt damage equal to your swords slashing damage)

>Specialist: An odd class, the Specialist is... versatile to say the least. Abstaining from traditional weapons, the opt instead to custom make their own from wood, leather, bone, iron, cloth and dyes! The way in which the weapon is used can vary greatly, with attacks ranging from Paper Cut Hell to Hallucinatory Perfume.
Choose a weapon to craft! (Can be a sword, bow staff, bow/arrows, etc!) Start with 2 Specialist Weapon Attacks (determined by the material used, like ink or oil).

Regardless, it seems whips wins, even WITH people not following the rules! Rat bastards. So a rogue with whips! Last but certainly not least, I need you to choose a "career", so to speak! This will normally determine the roll you play on your ship, should you ever even join a crew!

The careers are as follows!

>Archaeologist

>Bounty Hunter

>Chef

>Doctor

>Navigator

>Musician

>Scientist

>Shipwright

>MARINE

Archaeologist wins it with 1 vote! I was prepared for that scenario

Congratulations! You start with Antiquary (You are able to find rare antique items worth usually triple, even quadruple their price, when owners are usually oblivious to their actual value!) and Field Search (Performing a Field Survey now only takes 1d6 days, where you then uncover any hidden ruins, treasures, artifacts, debris or remains previously covered in earth).

Now, for the STAT portion of the game! The stats I'll be using are fairly simple, starting with a 10 in each, comprised of these six stats.

Strength: 10 (+0)
Dexterity: 10 (+0)
Constitution: 10 (+0)
Wisdom: 10 (+0)
Intelligence: 10 (+0)
Charisma: 10 (+0)

Each of these things will be used to determine your roll for combat, interaction, and general knowledge of something. Charisma to persuade a knowledgeable shopkeep or Dex to see if you manage to snag a branch with your whip!

Your stats are all at 10 for a +0 bonus, and you have 22 points to spend, as you chose Human as your starting race. Every two points is a +1 to your current modifier, so while a 10 is 0, 12 is 1, 14 is 2, etc. Divide them as you see fit!

Strength: (+0)
Dexterity: (+4)
Constitution: (+4)
Wisdom: (+4)
Intelligence: (+4)
Charisma: (+6)

Now for the fun part!

Each of those stats is tied into a secondary skill which you will favor 7 of. They are as follows:

Appraise (Wis), Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Cooking (Wis), Diplomacy (Cha), Engineering (Wis), Escape Artist (Dex), Gather Information (Cha), Heal (Wis), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Invent (Int), Jump (Str), Knowledge (Arcana, Engineer, History, Local, Nature, Nobility ((Wis)), Listen (Wis), Stealth (Dex), Navigation (Int), Perform (Cha/Dex), Research (Wis), Ride (Dex), Sailing (Wis), Search (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Slight of Hand (Dex), Spot (Wis), and Tumble (Dex).

These will act as a sort of skill check for any action you take, and each favored one will add a +5 bonus!

ALSO AS AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Knowledge History is NOT what you think it is. I know it's backwards but the Knowledge I assume you're LOOKING for, knowledge on Poneglyphs and Constructs and shit is Knowledge Arcana. Knowledge History is more about the foundation of Islands and such, Wars and migrations rather than the mythos (and some times facts) surrounding them. I'll tally up the votes but I'm giving you this ONE warning here and now, change while you have the chance.

Changing Knowledge History to Arcana
>>
>>1917168
It does, allow me to ellaborate.

Knowledge Arcana: (Ancient Mysteries, Devil Fruits, Ponegliphs, Cryptic Phrases, Constructs, Sea Kings)

Knowledge History: (Wars, Migrations, Colonies, Founding of Cities)

Knowledge Engineering: (Bridges, Aqueducts, Fortifications, Ships, Buildings)

Knowledge Local: (Legends, Personalities, Laws, Inhabitants, Customs, Traditions)

Knowledge Nature: (Plants, Animals, Seasons/Cycles, Weather, Vermin)

Knowledge Nobility: (Lineage, Heraldry, Family Trees, Mottoes, Personalities)

I had meant to post it in the previous post but had totally forgot and went off to paint my bathroom, so totally my fault.
>>
>>1917114
changing to arcana although some here are really tempting

>>

I hope you do man, but if you wanna skip out on chargen I totally understand. It's almost done though, no worries dude.

Alright so after so tallying, there are a few pretty much locked in, especially Search, so the final tally comes up to this

Appraise (Wis)
Bluff (Cha)
Diplomacy (Cha)
Escape Artist (Dex)
Slight of Hand (Dex)
Search (Wis)
Knowledge Arcana (Wis)

That satisfactory?

>>
>>1917276
>>1917275
To answer both of your questions I wanted to work it in order of rarity. Devil Fruits, despite their screen time, are lore-wise incredibly rare, where you'd have to roll an 89. The highest roll, was 86. Had you made the 89 DC we would have continued to see which fruit you'd get, again in order of rarity, Zoan being most common 1-79, Paramecia in between (80-94) and Logia (95-100) being the rarest.

Had you rolled a Zoan you would roll again for rarity of the animal, with a crit being a legendary or prehistoric of your choice!

Don't you feel blessed?

Mind you, so you don't abandon thread, you CAN find Devil Fruits during your epic quest. The DC stays the same however.

SEASION START!!

You're greeted by the smell of the sea breeze... the rocking of the waves. You open your eyes and see the blue sky above you, fluffy white clouds roll lazily over head in the distance. It's such a beautiful day and here YOU are just sitting in your dinghy fishing! You sit up and bring try to bring your line up but find it's... snagged on something. Oh your sweet stars above could this be it? You pull harder and harder, reeling in the heavy object on the end of your line! It comes up from the depths, and you see it! A CHEST!!

With one last mighty hoist you wrench the box up from the briny depths of the dock and bring it aboard! The ornate design, opulent, brilliant in its majesty! It was rumored to be here in the West Blue, a box once belonging to a member of Gol D. Roger's own crew! Now the only question is how do YOU open it?!

Aha! You got it! You turn around in your dinghy, rushing to the make shift cabin aboard and open up your drawers, revealing inside your own toolkit with your name stamped above! Inside is the lock-pick you need!

You grab your toolkit out from your drawer and open it up, revealing the multitude of Archaeological materials inside. Stakes, flags, brushes, a multitool, and- Aha! Ten whole lock picks! You pocket nine of them for now but hurry back to the bow of your boat, dropping quickly to your knees and sticking the end of the pick into the lock! You jingle it…

Creak…

Crick…

Click!

YES!!

You flip open the lid of the chest and inside!...

Is a blank piece of paper.

“SON OF A BITCH!”

You yell out, kicking the sea worn chest over on its side, stomping about on your dinghy, cursing your luck! Four whole months of your life FOR A BLANK PIECE OF PAPYRUS!? No…. no. You need to calm down. There must be some weird mistake… Upon closer inspection there is a tiny mark on the very edge of what appears to be instructions but, it’s so faded…

No… just maybe…

Once again you rush over to your toolkit, grabbing from it a pencil and placing the map upon a nearby desk. You learnt this trick from a Marine friend of yours, where they would send invisible coded messages to each other before Snail Phones had been invented. Some old timey Marines still use it as a means of communication and you just so happened to have learned it… after a long session of post-coital cuddling. Though that’s a story for another time!

You rub the pencil along the paper, and quickly, words that had once long been erased come back, revealing a message someone had not wanted seen…

“Fixer,

203 34 167 982 100.”

Aside from the numbers here, there is nothing else written, the only other thing are the initials at the end, which spell out BB. Weird. The numbers normally wouldn’t mean anything but… these look a lot like coordinates… Which, if you’re not mistaken are directly to your right.

You glance to the right and spot a spec on the horizon. Squinting, you can almost make out the outline of… an island? Pulling out a 'scope, it is indeed and island, and on its shore a long wrecked boat on a dock left to disrepair...

>Head to the island, this could be big…

>The island is interesting, though you admit, this wasn’t the chest you were looking for.

Well, no time like the present! You hoist the makeshift anchor from the bottom of the sea and unfurl your sails, heading on over to the nearby island. In the span of a few minutes, you make it near the shore, and only now do you see how damaged the ship truly is. Its mast is all torn up, the bow is splintered, the top half of the port side is missing… what was no doubt once a mighty ship is now but a ruin.

Deciding instead to shore up on the beach, you hop off your dinghy and attach your boat to a nearby tree. Looking around, a trail leads into the forest of the island, but your vision is unfortunately cut off by the think foliage deeper in. The dock, now that you have a better look at it, actually seems stocked. On it are barrels and crates, and there’s even a rope ladder leading from the deck of the ship down to the dock.

As you see it you have two options…

>You could scavenge the ship and try your luck there, see if there’s anything of value aboard.

Or

>You could go down the forest trail and see where that leads.

You decide to investigate the dock first, and check if there was anything of value aboard the wreckage. The barrels you had seen turn out to be full of gunpowder! It’s surprisingly dry too for its age. Next to it is an old pistol. You check and, yep, it’s loaded, with 12 whole shots left! You take it with you, just to get it away from the dry gunpowder. Plus, who knows, this could come in handy!

>Obtain 1 Pistol!

Making your way to the broadside of the ship, you climb up the faded rope ladder and onto the deck. It’s every bit as wrecked as you had guessed, with holes and moss lining it all over. The cannons are rusted and most have fallen off their wheels, and the hand rail looks especially treacherous. Instead, you opt to go below deck, to see the cargo area. After a few minutes, you have all that you could salvage, including a Log Pose, some sweet Leather Boots (+3 dex!), and a whole 3000 Beri! You also found a map that leads you into the jungle to what you can only hope is MORE treasure!

>Do you want to equip the boots now?

Also,

>You have a map leading you somewhere, time to see where! To the jungle!

>You want to lock this Log Pose onto your house, head home.

>Explore deeper! There’s another level below the cargo area!

You decide to head further down into the wreckage of the ship, in search of more treasure! Surely there must be more down here somewhere! You replace your regular boots with the brand new leathers, before heading back up and tossing the old ones over the side, making a mental note to pick them up later. You got your engine going now and you want some fat stacks of Berri baby, yeah! The stairs downward however are darkened, with no disenable light source… so, from the dry moss and boards of the ship you fashion yourself a makeshift torch! With a bit of gun powder from your new pistol, the light it aflame with an audible BANG sound. Behind you you hear an odd groaning sound… followed by scuttling.

You turn slowly and see it. A whole WALL of hermit crabs. TONS of them all of them skittering away from your torchlight! But… no, that’s not what they’re skittering from. You turn once more and then you see it. A big beady eye starring back at you, your torch and face reflected in the pools or black this thing called eyes. It was huge, easily seven times your size, claws that were the half the length of the masts outside. This wasn’t a wreck, this was a SHELL!

In a fit of panic you drop your torch and rush back up the stairs, quick as a flash, your pockets jingling with the treasures you’ve looted from the top half of what has now been revealed as this Giant Hermit Crab’s shell! The ship is rumbling, splinters of rotten wood fall from the mast and into your hair, boards giving way beneath and behind you! Finally you make it back up to the deck and LEAP from the starboard side, landing on the dock as the giant crab emerges from the hole in the opposite port side! Only now that its full body is exposed do you truly get a feel for how massive this thing is!

It’s turning itself around to find you, doing a slow round about, grinding the back half of the ship against the dock as it does, taking out a few support beams and forcing you further back. By the time its facing you only half of the dock is left, with most of the boxes now in the water!

The gunpowder however… is right next to its claw…

An idea clicks in your head. You load one of your 11 remaining shots into your newly acquired pistol, and take aim at the barrels of gunpowder still left on the dock. As the Giant Hermit crab slowly lumbers his way atop it, it begins creaking and breaking beneath him, taking one or two barrels with him. You aim carefully, and pull the trigger! Your aim is true, and the bullet strikes one of the barrels! The heat of the bullet ignites the powder inside, exploding violently alongside its brethren in a planned chain reaction! Ther hermit crab takes the full front of the explosion, shrapnel flying everywhere, the sheer concussive force ramming into it, causing it to SHRIEK in pain!

The dock gives out from under it completely, and the injured hermit crab falls into the comparatively shallow water, a claw detaching from its body. The claw falls from the poor things body and plops into the water, gross crab juice bleeding from its appendage. It limps back into the water, taking the boat with it. You think you won! You think. You slump down on the beach, taking a bit of a breather as to what just happened. The map show you that off the trail you saw earlier is a hidden passage, with the trail actually being a massive pit trap. Perfect! You’ll head out into the forest later.

But… you can’t shake the feeling… that something is watching you. Something very angry.
