You were only a little kid when the pirate king was executed and the great pirate age began. In fact you were even there to see the execution as your mother insisted on it. However it didn't go according to her plan. She thought she could scare some of her kids straight...little did she know what the Pirate King would do. Resulting in some of your siblings running away to become pirates seeking One Piece or trying to even become the new Pirate King. Much to her embarrassment and worry.

Now you too are tempted to make that choice. A few years later now your no longer a little kid. Now you should be able to become a cabin boy or formally enlist with the Marines without getting laughed at and turned away. You been training for this day.

That was how you found yourself approaching the docks and walking down the street full of businesses. You don't wanna be left behind anymore. Yet at the same time you worry that you might not be strong enough...thus you find yourself pacing. Trying to make a very important decision that would no doubt change your life.

Should you leave now?

Should you stay and prepare more?

You are scared and nervous. You were shivering despite this great weather on the island. Yet you needed to make a choice.

Best to calm yourself down first though lest you make a stupid decision you'll regret for the rest of your life.

What is it that you are a natural at again?

>Agility
Your quite quick, agile, have fast hands, and a great shot.

>Strength
Despite your young age carry a pack fulling of rocks and swing a stone maul is no problem. Not to mention both at the same time.

>Toughness
You can take a beating like nobody's business and never get sick.

>Charisma
You once convinced a marine and a pirate to become friends your so convincing. Not to mention animals naturally like you and you were always great at getting good deals.

>Smarts
Your brain has always been your strongest point. No book is too complicated nor problem unsolvable to you.

As a free heads up Charisma is also in charge of your leadership capability. Someone who focuses in Charisma could for instance have followers who are much stronger then them and have powerful pets.

I blended speed into Agility so there is an actual reason to choose it besides playing a sniper. An Agility focused swordsman is gonna be a hell of a lot faster and tricky to deal with then a Strength focused swordsman.

Smarts is most useful if wanna lots of skills or to be very good at those skills. So Doctors as an example for instance are obviously gonna specialize in Smarts.

No need to explain strength or toughness in more depth. Its pretty straightforward for those two.

Smarts it is then. If you get a devil fruit power you'll have a much easier type coming up with ways to use it.

>>1931644
Ah that's right your greatest strength is that your smart. Remembering this fact you couldn't help but pause right before entering the docks. Your smart enough to realize some stuff. There is some people on the island whom you can probably suck up to enough to learn some skills. You know there is a doctor, shipwright, and other skilled persons around.

You also remember hearing of some places you can train on the island. Like the Thousand Swords Dojo, Gyms, and even the underground fighting ring in the slums.

However the allure of Adventure is hard to resist. You know the Marine Base nearby your old enough to enlist as a Chore Boy. Down near the shady section of the docks you can usually find pirates and smuggler ships. From one of your brothers a bounty hunter talked about a mysterious bar where you can find all sorts of characters and even those with powers. He says on most days a normal person can't find it. However once every month there is a chance a normal person can find it.

Just as you considering your options after having calmed down you suddenly heard a loud ruckus. Looking over you could see some pirates fleeing from some guy with strange looking pistols. Of all things the pirates were...running towards the Marine Base. Using your smarts you realized the pirates weren't in their right mind and the fellow behind them was somehow tricking them to head there.

"Shit," you heard one of the pirates curse as he turns back long enough to take a shot before running away full speed while reloading. "Fucking hell of all things we had to encounter the damned Bounty Hunter Dozen Dealer."

"Now now how about you guys surrender BEFORE I kill you. None of you are particularly famous so its not like the world government cares about you living long enough to be executed. I get paid the same either way," asks the bounty hunter he moves in a strange fashion that allows him to dodge bullets. Which you find hard believe if it weren't for the fact that he doesn't have any cover nearby and not one of the pirates have managed to hit him yet.

"Fuck you," shouts a pirate.

"Suits yourself," shrugs the bounty hunter as he shoots one of his pistols and the pirate who just cursed at him drops on the ground and doesn't even twitch. "Hey you kid-" begins the Bounty hunter as he looks at you. He finishes his sentence with

"Three eyes. Aren't you an awful long way from home?"

"I grew up here."

"No way," says the bounty hunter forgetting about the pirates he was suppose to hunt. "Does that mean your Ricko's little bro?"

"How do you know my brother?" This time it was your turn to be surprised.

"Oh me and him go awhile back," says the bounty hunter shooting the pirates without so much as glancing back at them while talking to you. "I thought at first he was messing with me when he told me he grew up here and had some family here still, but here you are."

"that doesn't answer my question," you point out this time watching how he manages to dodge the pirate shots without looking while using his strange movements. The pirates thought they had a chance.

They were wrong. As he proceeds to finish them off while talking to you.

"Well fine. Its a small world among us bounty hunters. Besides we had a duel once and I lost. Guy's marksmanship is unbelievable."

"Did he use is double bouncer," you test.

"Nope he used bullet trap combined with bouncing bullet. It ricocheted thrice before taking me out. Still don't know how managed to make them bounce three times and create a surround trap at the same time. Not even I could dodge that back then."

"Ouch. Yeah that sounds like him alright. So what are you doing here? Sounds like you should be after much bigger fish." You feel for him you really do. Ricko tormented you with that bullshit aim of his. Most snipers have the decency of just shooting really far and accurately, but old Ricko preferred trick shots. Including hit other bullets out of the air and diverting them where he wanted.

"-North Blue." Says the bounty hunter as he then strolls over to the pirate corpses to grab a few things before heading right back to you. Unexpectedly he gave you a belt hanging from it was a gun and sword after looking sneakily around.

"...What's this for?"

"You got that look of a kid wanting to runaway from home. In that case your gonna need to defend yourself."

"...you're not gonna drag me back home right?" Well you didn't think it was that obvious. Your adventure just might end when it just barely began.

"Nah I wouldn't wanna piss off your pirate siblings, but let me tell you something important kiddo. Right now your a weak little twerp. Most people even the dumber ones would spend a few more years training and growing stronger, but they are fools."

Now he has your interest as your ears perked up at the unexpected turn of events.

"See what they forget kid is two thing," he raises up his gun before continuing. "Even a kid can pull a trigger which would kill a man just as easily if a man pulled it instead. Secondly smarts along with other strange powers also exist in the great seas. All of which can make even a little twerp like you dangerous. So dangerous that even grown men fear them in the Grand Line.

"Really?"

"Really," says the bounty hunter pulling out some bounty posters showing faces. After shuffling through them a bit he shows off a few. Revealing childlike faces on them. "See this? These faces, this is proof."

"...But how do I get those strange powers? What if I wanna learn some skills first?"

"Easiest way to get strange powers is the Devil Fruit."

"That's a myth."

"Heh you'll see someday," says the bounty hunter with a strange smirk. "As for skills...who says you gotta learn those skills on an island? Who says you can't train on a ship?"

You were just about moved to tears. The one and only adult who believed you could do it. Was standing here now and supporting you.

"Now you gotta be real careful about the kinda ship you go on kid. That is the most important choice. Merchant ships are easy. Bounty hunting is easy assuming you can bring in the ransoms. Results it the only thing that matters with them. Now the hard part is if you choose the Pirates or the Marines. There are lots of pirates and marines but many of them are mediocre. Those who are actually good aren't gonna want some stupid kid anyway."

"So what's the tri-," you began to ask then it hits as your eyes suddenly widen. All you gotta do is find those with potential. Those with talent that they haven't yet had the chance to show up how great they truly are.

"Ah now you got it kid. So I'll tell you this right now. Finding those people wont be easy, but I can tell you this. Passing through here is a newbie Captain of the Marines who everybody things only got the position due to their family's entrenchment in the marines. They would't be wrong, but here is the catch. That Captain has some real talent."

"How would you of all people know?"

"Simple. Before the captain became a captain. They took a disguise and became a Bounty Hunter. A rather successful bounty hunter who one day up and vanished. Replaced by a certain new Captain who relied upon Nepotism and family to get the position. They will obviously have an opening for a chore boy if you wanna join the marines that is." He explains while picking over the pirate bodies for loot.

"The second is a new pirate captain who I heard a few rumors of."

"What's so special about him then?"

"Well...simple really. He has the powers of the devil and can't swim to save his life. More importantly he's been taking his sweet time laying low and recruiting. He's a very dangerous kind of pirate. Who I believe wont turn down a three eyed kid wanting to be a cabin boy. He just so happens to be at this island looking into a certain bar and recruiting. Greedy little piggy isn't just satisfied with having only 1 devil on board." Now at this time he was divvying up the piles of loot he just got.

"If your a bounty hunter why haven't you attacked this pirate?"

"Frankly," begins the Bounty Hunter. "The bounty isn't NEARLY worth the trouble. Only reason I know about him is the Pirate Captain is practically a ghost. Used to be a no name fellow until he somehow got a ghost ship and devil fruit powers. Normally that would be the time they get cocky and caught...but not this fellow. He kept on laying low. Only reason us bounty hunters paid attention is due to that Ghost Ship of his. Some Bounty Hunters who went after him but never even got close to catching him on the sea. The Marine captain meanwhile broke quite a few rules being a bounty hunter. Guess it was part of the rebellious phase against the family to be a bounty hunter. Surprising didn't become a pirate instead but guess that one still dreamed of being a marine some day, so settled for bounty hunting." At this point he finished putting his loot up in the bags and waved at you before heading to the marine base.

"Good luck kid, the marine captain's ship is docking on Pier 23. The pirate's ship is in the slum dock somewhere. Just look for the haunted looking one."

Not all the Phoneglyphs are about the 100 years of missing history. Technically they can include other things like blueprints and stuff about the ancient super weapons.

Basically i am gonna treat them like an archives of forbidden knowledge. They contain info that they didn't want to be forgotten which wont just be missing history. It would include other things that are 'forbidden'.

That is of course assuming you can wake up the powers.

If you get a merchant's license they'll just assume your trader ship unless you have a pirate flag.

If you don't get a merchant license the marines may harass you as a suspected pirate ship whose not flying the pirate flag.

Anyway I'll count up the votes tomorrow. This is a very important decision after all.

>>1932641
Problem is your not a master anon. Your just a punk runaway kid with a big brain and 3 eyes.

A low level marine mook and pirate mook both can kick your weak ass easily. If you had chosen agility you would of easily been able to dodge and shoot them. Strength you could actually straight up beat them up. Toughness would mean they would tire out first.

Keep in mind Luffy had the vantage in that he had devil fruit powers and years to understand it. Meant he could survive his stupidity so long as he was lucky(which he was).

The MC doesn't have devil fruit powers but is smart. He read a lot of books and played around. Did great in school and so on. He just lacks specialized skills like Doctoring. Meaning given time he could prove very dangerous.

Not in the charismatic kind of look at all my strong follows but holy shit smart ass has endless amount of tricks and tools to use.

In exchange however Smart characters have a very slow and weak starting period where they just suck really hard. Once they get the experience and skills though they become nightmarish threats. Frankie for instance is Shipwright and Engineer look at what he could do.

Chopper is a doctor who dopes himself in order to further enhance is Devil Fruit powers and he knows the weak points of the human body.

Smart characters have the slowest start but they become real beasts later on. When their skills are finally able to shine and they got the experience. Other characters only get stronger skills they already possess. Smart characters can get entirely new skills as they develop due to their smarts.

So no matter what your gonna get stuck with a slow weak start but once you get some skill and experience you can become a real menace.
>>
>>1932684
Basically Smart characters are the most adaptable. All they gotta do is study up first and think. Their 'experience' shapes them in it allows them to test their experiments and improve upon them.

They may not be the strongest, toughest, fastest, or most convincing.

But they got an endless amount of tricks up their sleeves and are very adaptable. Which translates into them being the biggest pain in the ass to fight. As you never know what they are gonna pull out next and all the while they are thinking. Smart characters for their part can unexpectedly take down far stronger foes then you would think because they outsmart them and come up with the perfect plan to take them out with.

I think we should just join the pirates. Anything we need to learn we could probably be taught by the rest of the crew, we're just kids atm so we should have time. Pirates win~

After thinking you decide to become a pirate just like some of your older siblings. Except this time you get to board a ghost ship. After putting on your new belt hanging with a couple weapons you headed towards the slums. The slums were located near the beach bordering the fish market. Hence the awful stench. It even had its own section of poorly maintained docks that any decent person would avoid. Fortunately its not someone decent your looking for. You walk passed a number of thugs who thought about robbing a weak kid but then reconsidered once you cocked your gun.

Even they knew a kid could kill them with a bullet just as well as a grown man. This worked in your favor. Damn why didn't you get a gun when you were younger...

Walking right on past the cheap prostitutes you could see a number of very shady bars and the nearby docks. Getting a bit closer you started to look around for the ghost ship. Trying to ignore the stench of rotten fish, piss, blood and stale vomit. You see a couple seemingly normal ships. Probably smugglers. A few obvious pirate ships flags and all. At first you couldn't see the ghost ship until you realized that one of the usual sunken ships...was still being used and looked spooky as fuck. It looked half sunk but somehow still floating. You did the probably not so smart thing and approached the ship.

The ship looked ancient. There was the sickly sweet scent of rot and death radiating from it. Even the ship's light didn't flicker and glow like a normal light. Instead it was like they were a sputtering signpost for the dead guiding them to the afterlife. Strangest of all the ship had no crew on board yet everybody took great care to avoid it like it was cursed.

You naturally took the chance to board the ship for a closer look. Finding that now that you were closer it looked like this ship was just dredged up from the ocean depths given all the sea life that was growing all over it. The ropes themselves were even replaced with some kind of sea weed. There were even plenty of holes in the deck and walls. Allowing you to look down into the bowels of the ship with frightening ease. There was also the strange sort of chill in the air around the ship. That made it hard to breath. Just as you were about to go below deck you ran into something...that spelled distinctly of sweet rot and spice. Look up from the musty clothing you saw...a zombie.

"AHHH-," you couldn't help but scream before the zombie clasped your mouth shut with his putrid hands. Making you wanna vomit.

"Sheesh loud kid what a mouth on you. Are you hear to enlist on this here PIRATE ship," he asks still keeping your mouth covered. You nodded yes in response.

You can still feel the vomit in the back of throat as you gasp like a fish out of water. Desperately trying to clear out your nose with cleaner air.

"Three eyed cabin boy. One whose gutsy enough to board a haunted pirate ship, Captain's gonna like you."

"Z-Zom-Zombies are...are you for real?"

"What do you think," says the zombie as sits down on a nearby building. "Matches with the ship no?"

"...I thought zombies weren't real," you state lamely. Already your adventure has taken a terrifying turn...and oh god you joined this crew. Are you also gonna get turned into one of them? "Am I...g...gon...gonna get turned into one too?"

"Well yes and no. Yes for the first part we are real and no to the second part. What would the point be in making a kid zombie? A waste of potential best done when your fully grown."

Alright good news is you gotta few years still before you gotta get worried about being turned into a zombie. Good to know.

"...Is...is that the captain's power? To bring the dead to life?" You couldn't help but ask after hearing he somehow had 'powers of the devil' of some kind.

"Nope." Replies the Zombie pirate. "Captain is a robot or something. Instead he's a Machine Man. Ate the machine machine or robot robot fruit. Can't say which it was exactly given how he's been suffering through dealing with some of the limitations."

"...Then who created you zombies?"

"The Dok of course. Well they used to be a doctor anyway. Back before they got their medical license taken away."

At this point you were hyperventilating. A spooky ship is one thing, but for it to have an even spookier crew and scary captain/doctor was a whole other thing. For the first time you find yourself regretting boarding this here haunted pirate ship. Should of listened to the bounty hunter about this here spooky pirate ship...even someone with his skills didn't wanna tackle it.

Come to think of it the marines probably feel the same way given how hard they trying to ignore this ship's existence. Honestly after boarding it you really don't blame them.

"Take a deep breath and breath cabin boy. You'll get used to it eventually."

Feeling the overwhelming regret and lightheaded you sat down and breathed.

"There you go. Captain's gonna be gone for awhile as per usual. Probably trying to find people dumb enough to work on a haunted pirate ship. No offense but its very rare for someone to come on board on their own and ask to join."

...Correction your on a haunted pirate ship crewed by the dead and the insane. Just fucking great. Why couldn't you just join an ordinary pirate ship instead? At this point the regret and anxiety was slowly being replaced by depression.

"Eh what's with the racket up top," complains another zombie pirate coming up from below deck.
>>
>>1933632
Only to stare at you with shock clear in his milky eyes as he rubs them before staring at you again. "...A kid? With three eyes?" The new zombie pirate finally forces out.

"Yup. Has some real balls. He just walked right on up boarded and asked to join."

"...Captain...wasn't sent by the Captain?"

"Nope. Besides those ones tend to runaway half the time once they see what the ship looks like. Then another half runs once they see the crew."

"Guess I woke up for good reason after all," nods the other zombie while looking at you with some surprise still hanging on its dead eyed corpse pale face. "Well kid best you take care of any remaining business you got here before we have to leave. "For now real quick follow me," he explains before grabbing you with an iron grasp as inescapable as death itself. Then he heads back down below deck.

If you thought the top deck was spookiest after going below it your dead wrong. At least up there you had a sky and sea to keep detract from the haunted ship. Down in the bowls of it...this is no longer true. It has you completely surrounded. Sooner then you expected you stopped before a half fallen door. Behind which despite the gloom you can see many hanging hammocks.

"This is the living crew quarters," hisses out the zombie. "When you got to sleep come here and sleep. Next up is the mess." the zombie pirate finishes before dragging you along once more to a room with benches and long tables. Along with very suspicious looking 'food' on top of those tables with the far less suspicious eating utensils. "Food is always here 24/7. Our appetites don't work like they did when we were properly alive still. So to compensate there is always something here for hungry zombies and living crew who wanna snack or a meal."

"...Alright I just gotta ask but how is that 'stuff' considered edible?"

"It is for us zombies...hm right your not a zombie. I think its still edible in that case too."

"You think?"

"Ahh your gonna be like the captain and doc ain'tcha," complains the zombie pirate." All about the palate. Captain has fresh food made 5 times a day. At midnight, early morning, noon, afternoon, and evening. That is what the living crew usually eats."

"Next up is the treasury at last," continues the pirate it stumbles towards it tugging you along. "Loot is split according to shares. Since your only a mere cabin boy you get half a share. Shares are larger you would think though," admits the zombie pirate before stopping at a nondescript looking but solid door. Right in front of the door was a corpse just laying there. Unexpectedly the zombie pirate kicked said corpse and muttered, "Hey fool no sleeping on duty," surprising said corpse turned out to be a sleeping zombie who groggily woke up and sat down on a nearby stool. Now out of the way once he handed some keys over. Unlocking the door you found lots of chests with names written on them that were neatly arranged in rows on the walls. Out of the way.

Is it weird I actually like the idea of working on an undead pirate ship? Hoping we don't need to be zombified or get off the ship to start our own crew by the time we're old enough

In the middle of the room you could see a couple chests glittering with loot and for some reason a large pile of bags. The zombie pirate guide approached said pile of bags and dug around in them before throwing you a small pouch. "Your pay, as for what I meant about larger shares. Well obviously us zombies don't really have the same needs as you. We got less things to spend on. Unless we say have living family we just tend to take smaller stranger shares and stuff them in our chests. We are lest interested in coin but curious looking treasures on the other hand draw our interest more."

"Anyway lets head back up top," continues the zombie no longer dragging you along. "Down further below there is supplies stored. Normally I would introduce you to the rest of the important crew but well most of them are on shore leave. Only important fellow still on board is the zombie first mate. He's probably in the study writing or studying the maps. He'll probably be the one to introduce you around once the rest of the crew comes back on board."

Tagging along the zombie stops before the door and knocks before saying," New crewman just enlisted is a cabin boy who came here on is own and asked to join up."

A voice soon responded from inside, "Open I want a look. Takes some serious balls to do something like that." The zombie pirate guide opened the door revealing a much better dressed zombie staring at you with surprisingly sharp eyes on his corpse pale face. "Hm...well now a 3 eyed tribesman at that. Can't say I ever thought we would have a cabin boy given the circumstances of this here crew. Ah you are dismissed zombie," states the zombie officer waving the other zombie away. "Currently I am afraid that the rest of the living crew are on shore leave. Our kind obviously stays aboard but usually below decks to prevent panic. I would suggest you get your affairs in order before returning, also take this in case you come back early and get bored." The zombie first mate hands you a book and goes back to ignoring you as he sits down at the desk to start writing down in a book and studying some maps.

"Say aren't you looking for some crew? I might know some people," you say.

"That is the Captain's domain given how he is...well much more alive then me. Plus would they willing to join a haunted pirate ship with zombie crew?"

"..." He had you there.

Book...book. You could feel it calling to you. After that you lost track of time.

The book was very musty old looking tome that oddly enough spoke of many different seas. You were expecting a old book about North, East, West, and South blue. Instead it first started talking about the strange grandline, but then things got even weirder and more unbelievable. It talked about the Sky Sea where there exists people living there on sky islands and sailing through the sky. It talked about the Under Sea where beneath the obvious waves there is yet another type of sea. That only the likes of the merfolk and fishmen know much of. It mentioned All Blue where creatures of all four blues can be found. You at least heard of those three albeit in rumors and fantasy stories, but strangely enough the book insists they exist. That they are real. It even talked about a different kind of sea that it referred to as 'Sea of Space'. The Sea above the Sky Sea. It mentioned the possibility of there being yet another Sea underneath the Under Sea.

The entire book was hard to swallow especially with how serious in tone it was despite the fantasy it talked about.

It was only when a commotion broke outside that you got your head out of the book and followed behind the first mate. On the top deck you could see who you would assume is the Captain a handsome fellow was beaming and practically skipping he was so happy. In hand he held two chests that had a sinister marking denoting them as the Devil. He wore a long coat and wide brimmed hat. His skin had a strange sheen to it The first mate was the one who greeted the Captain.

"Captain I would assume your trip went...well?"

"VERY hahahaha!"

"...Then where is the crew Captain?"

"Huh crew? Oh...right...yeah I forgot."

"You forgot to recruit people we needed?"

"...Does a little girl count?" asks the joke of a captain seriously.

At this point nearby zombie crew were trying hard to swallow their laughter and the poor first mate was left swaying in the wind. Probably due to a mixture of anger, shame, and annoyance. "Please...please tell me at least SOMETHING good came of this tri-" The first mate didn't get to finish before getting struck by the tiny marked chest causing him to stumble back and a strange looking fruit to fall out. Rolling along the deck before stopping by your feet.

"Check for yourself," nonchalantly says the Captain.

"It...can't be," mutters the First mate staring at the fruit at your feet with a strange expression and then he looked back at the captain with the second chest with bulging eyes and slack jawed. "TWO of them...not possible."

"What can I say the lead proved to be great one. I did have to gamble one of them but look now we got TWO!" Says the captain shaking the chest in his hand.

"...You were suppose to recruit captain. We need crew."

"Oh come on don't be like that. We do need to go though. Like right now."
>>
Rolled 48 (1d100)

>>1933911
"So you didn't win it gambling but rather stole it now didn't you?"

"No, I actually DID win it in a card game. Its just I really doubt the Marine Captain I won it from is gonna not try to take it back is all."

"So instead of recruiting like you were suppose to. Instead you went to gamble and Captain your forgetting something very important."

"...and that is?"

"Your the first one back. How can we leave without the rest of our crew?"

"...Shit. Is doc here at least? I think doc can buy us some time."

"Nope doc went shopping for supplies."

"...Well in that case my lovely zombies I need you to help a guy out."

"With what?"

"Simple. We are going to attack the Marine Base and loot the stores!" Says the Captain in a Brazen and serious fashion. "Heheh do that and the Marine Captain will be too busy to take it from us then..."

By now your pretty sure if the first mate wasn't already dead he would be having an Aneurysm right now. "What...about the new cabin boy captain and the living crew still on the island?"

"New cabin boy?" Says the captain in surprise before looking at you. "Three Eyed Cabin Boy? What the hell you guys been up to?"

"I should be saying that to YOU Captain."

"Fine fine. Give him a gun and he can tag along. As for the rest of the crew I am sure during our attack we can find them. Remember stores, rich people houses, and Marine Base. We attack and force them to come out of their fortress, then we'll have the advantage!"

By now more and more of the zombie crew have been stumbling out from below deck and their numbers have swelled.

"This better be worth it," sighs the First mate as he picks up the strange looking fruit from near your feet and sticks it back in the tiny chest. "Well you heard the captain you fools pillage and plunder boys. Kill all those who try to stop you!"

"YAARRR," scream the zombie pirates as they charge off the pirate ship and into the city. Heading towards the market.

You decide to follow the Captain. Strangely he didn't rush off instead disappearing into the camp quarters. Shortly after the entire ship started to shake with every solid THUMP and out of the captain's quarters came what you think is the Captain...who turned into a hulk of metal. There were steaming pipes spewing out smoke from his back, arms, and legs. He had a large shield in one hand and a massive mysterious crate in the other.

"Hahah it ain't every day I get to bring out this bad boy. Oh the Cabin Boy is still here to follow his Captain. Well aren't you adorable," says the strangely echoing and buzzing voice of the Captain buried in the armor. "Now our objective is simple. We are gonna hit on the banks and deposit boxes on the way to the Marine Base. Maybe sink some marine ships but i haven't made up my mind on that yet. Guess it will depend if I still got the ammo for it after the marine base."

After that he carefully kept on walking on the deck trying his best to avoid the weaker spots before jumping off onto the dock. Causing the entire thing to shudder violently. After that he started striding towards the bank you soon realized as you jumped off to follow him.

Meaning on a nearby Marine Ship

"CAPTAIN, the town its under attack!"

"What? Damn it I needed to catch the bastard who stole my devil fruit...bah turn back. We are going in. I'll catch that bastard later," curses the Marine Captain.

Short while later the Captain caught sight of the Bank and started laughing on to pause when he saw some marines passing by. He dropped the crate he was packing opening it to reveal an entire armory of weapons contained within and pulled out a strange gun with three barrels and couple of ammo boxes with a long tube of bullets hanging off it. That was when he threw up his shield using it as a rest for the gun and a strange whirring sound came from the gun as it spun up.

The marines realized what was going on and raised up their guns in response preparing to fire when the captain interrupted them with but a single word.

"Disassemble."

With that one word their guns fell apart leaving some stunned marines forced to draw their swords and charge. By now however the Captain's strange gun had finished spinning up when it opened fired with a long BRRRT. Shredding the marine soldiers and tearing up the entire block with its seemingly endless wrath. Leaving a scene of carnage behind his gun finally slowed down to a stand still and he packed up to move up to the bank. Which had locked itself down tight.

This did not stop the Captain.

As he smashed his way through the walls and tearing off the armor plates blocking the entrance. Once he was inside he through a bag at you and said "Fill them up," before heading to the Vault. You were thus stuck behind the registers stuffing the bag full money. With the some very violent sounds of hissing and tearing coming from the vault along with cursing from the Captain. Finally you heard one last loud squeel of metal and saw a vault door being thrown through a wall followed by the cheer from the captain and his next orders "Loot the vault. I'll start tearing out the deposit boxes."

Once you finished looting the registers you headed over to the vault. Seeing the piles of money and treasures....just waiting to be looted. So you naturally got to work as you heard the Captain at work tearing metal apart for what they contained within. You were getting into it until you heard some marines shouting followed by the Captain's sigh followed by a few particularly loud screeches of metal. After that he strode out with a large sack hanging off his back and pulled up a new gun that appeared to a cannon of some kind and fired at the marines. Sending them flying while you kept on filling up the bags.

"Yohohoho," laughs the Captain until a Marine wearing a coat walked out of the dust cloud and carnage. Then he gets silent as he dropped it for a different weapon.

"You are hereby under arrest," begins the marine officer cracking their knuckles.

"Yeah yeah I heard it all before," interrupts the Captain. "Now how much you wanna bet you can dodge a storm of bullets?" As he pulls out a strange new toy.

"Hmph I already know it takes a wind up time to-" The Marine Officer never got to finish when a loud BANG interrupted launching an entire chaotic storm of pellets everywhere. Catching the marine Officer completely off guard. Unable to dodge in time due to the lack of warning they went down.

"Hah moron you really think I didn't consider that?" laughs the Pirate Captain as he heads back inside. Loading up the smaller bags you loaded into the big one he was carrying. Following by sweeping up all the heavy crap you couldn't load into the big bag.

"Next up the Marine Base," snickers your Pirate Captain. "I got something special planned for them. Something that I need to test out heheheh." After that he strode out with you tagging along. Soon the Marine Base came into view and the Pirate Captain set down his shield and pulled out a few boxes from his armor and opend up the large crate. After that he bits of machinery started to float and reassemble themselves. Forming a strange looking device box that was aimed up with spiky arrow like projectiles filling it to the brim. "Commencing with fire test of Rocket Barrage," says the Pirate Captain after pulling out a camera from somewhere. The device then proceeded to fire an entire storm of rockets at the marine base. Some of them sputtered and crashed before reaching the target. Others flew off wildly.
>>
Rolled 53 (1d100)

>>1934151
The rest however hit the target. Blowing up the ramparts and sending the few marines on the walls flying. The rest of the rockets made their way to the building itself hiding being the ramparts only to be blocked by something right in time. From this distance it was hard to see...but it was a man with a sword and coat. Was cutting the rockets apart.

Seeing him the Captain wasn't surprised or even sad at seeing his rocket barrage stopped instead he smiled and said "Gotcha." That was when a loud flash of light and explosion completely erupted from those seemingly dismantled rockets. As if being cut apart couldn't even remotely stop him. As the smoke cleared you could see a clearly damaged building a wounded man whose coat had been blown off entirely. He was now looked very ragged. As he stared back at the Captain.

"Hm...he actually survived," mutters the Pirate Captain. "Thought the booby trap inside would of been enough." Now he started to assemble a new weapon. A large mechanical cannon from the looks of it. The Marine Officer meanwhile was charging at your position with incredible speed. His sword was gleaming despite having been blown up and he looked serious.

The pirate captain meanwhile looked as if he was having a great time and was completely relaxed. As the weapon assembled itself before him as he looked at the marine swordsman and smiled right as it fired. The swordsman however was expecting this and he cut the cannon ball in half and flew split right down the middle veered off from him. Then the unexpected happen he kept on running and the split cannon ball...didn't explode. Instead it started to veer back at the swordsman.

Only you heard what the Captain then whispered."Magnetic Shot." As the two split cannon balls slammed into the swordsman and his sword from behind. Sending his sword flying away from him and sent him crashing into the ground.

The Pirate Captain walked towards him as his two weapons disassembled themselves neatly flew back to him and he pointed his pistol down at the Marine officer who lost his jacket before speaking. "If you are smart you'll stay down, because if you don't I'll be forced to kill you."

"Hah too cowardly to get the job down you filthy coward of a pirate," spits the fallen Marine in the rubble from where he crashed into at the pirate captain.

"Given how you can't stand up I'll take that as a yes," finishes the pirate captain putting his pistol back and walking away.

"THERE IS NO ESCAPING JUSTICE YOU PIRATE SCUM!" howls the fallen marine at the leaving pirate captain.

You naturally followed along and heard the pirate captain's reply a whisper response. "The Celestial Dragons do."

After that he took the scenic route to the marine base. Stopping when he found a spot with an excellent few of the city, bay, and ocean. He looked over it all including the smoking parts of the city from the fire and the piles of rubble. As a new kind of large cannon started to assemble itself behind him.

Along side the cannon two more weapons were being constructed. One of them was the previously seen rocket launching device. The other was some kind of oversized long gun connected to a chair and swiveling device. Some kind of turret you soon realized. Once they finished building you could see even more cannons were building themselves. Soon they began their bombardment. Targeting you realize to be the nearby marine ships. Due to the even greater distance involved you weren't surprised that the results were rather meh.

The pirate captain didn't seem to care as he kept on enjoying the view before speaking. "Time for you to get some action kid. Hop onto that turret and shoot at whatever you like."

You follow orders and hop on. Getting adjusted to the controls and jittery movements of the turret and adjusting the barrel.

"Best take our time and wait till the zombies have the time to charge into the marine base first. Much safer that way. Plus we gotta create an opening for our withdrawal. Strategy strategy. All things a Captain must consider."

Your aim...your sad to say that you manage to not hit a single ship. Granted you got close a few times at least. It was so bad even the Pirate Captain laughed at you. You kept on trying though until he told you it was time to go. After you hopped off you could see they were dissembling themselves and you headed off to the marine base. Looking over you could see the zombies have now made their way there and are fighting the surviving marines. As they push in. The pirate Captain spoke a single word-

"Disassemble." Resulting in the marines losing all their guns. Forcing them into melee with the zombies. Which from the looks of it the zombies were strongest in melee. They would shrug off hits that would kill a man and a single strike of theirs had superhuman strength. Smashing through their blocks and sending marines flying.

With the Pirate Captain's help from long ranged fire support as he strode closer and closer. The zombies soon forced their way past the marines and charged into the Marine Base. Some time later the pirate captain and you showed arrived. Looking at the ramparts you could see the zombie pirates have turned the cannons onto the Marine's own ships. Forcing them to bombard their own base in retaliation. The First Mate then approached the Captain holding a small satchel.

"We got the stuff Captain. More Grand Line charts, Marine Intel, and a log pose," reports the First Mate.

"Good. How is the looting of the Marine Base and withdraw working out?"

"Fine Captain. We are finishing up the looting as we speak and our men have turned their own guns against them, but we have ran into a problem."

"What problem is that?"

"Some of the Marines hopped off their boats at the docks and flanked our forces."

"Hm," grimaces the Captain. "I thought I blew them up?"

"Not before they unloaded I'm afraid," says the First Mate. "What should we do?"

"...Let Doc handle it. Sheer weight of numbers never works on Doc. Anyway how is the losses and loot so far?"

"We caught them off guard and us zombies heh are not like ordinary men. Loot wise the island while not that rich isn't completely broke. Overall I have the feeling most of our best loot is gonna come out of the Marine base. It was real hit and miss in the stores."

"I'll see you back at the ship First Mate. I must prepare for our escape."

"Yes Captain," nods the first mate before leaving to yell orders at the other zombie pirates.

"Come along now and put this on," says the Pirate captain moving much more quickly despite his bulk towards the docks. The item he gave you meanwhile was peculiar looking gas mask.

"What's this for?" You couldn't help but ask.

"By now Doc would gotten to work. You breath in some of the gases doc uses and your a dead man or a very sick one. Keep the mask on until Doc says its safe to take off. Even on the boat at sea...actually especially then." By now the Pirate Captain was clearly running and ahead you could see sickening green and yellow fog hovering.
>>
Rolled 23 (1d100)

>>1934424
You could hear screams, moaning, sneezing, coughing, and begging within. A few marines stumbled out with discolored slime leaking out of their eyes and hacking up blood. They didn't make it too far before collapsing.

"What the..." this time you didn't hesitate before putting on the mask.

"Yeah..." you could practically hear the pirate captain's grimace. "Doc used to be registered Doctor...and what you see before us is why they lost their license. See Doctors are suppose to make people healthy yeah? Doc does the opposite. Makes them sick." Explains the Pirate Captain as you both enter the fog. "Doc's the one who made those Zombie pirates you saw earlier. Not sure how but the truth is I never did ask."

"Sounds like your scared of the Doc," you say as you carefully move through the fog. Dodging victims who shambled through and stepped over bodies that long stopped moving.

"I am," admits the Pirate Captain. "Me my power is just over machines. Doc though...well if Doc really wanted to. Doc could unleash death becoming the harbinger of Plagues. Nobody is safe from Doc's deadly embrace, luckily doc doesn't like to fight and is a proper pacifist. Hence these gases will only make you incapacitated instead of dead."

"You ever seen Doc fight then?"

"Nope. Anyone stupid enough to pick a fight with Doc never actually gets the chance to. Honestly i don't even know if Doc actually knows how to fight or not. Never seen it get that far."

"Sounds like Doc is a lot stronger then you."

"Frankly I wouldn't be surprised," shrugs the pirate captain. "But like I said I never seen Doc so much as get into a fight. Much less get serious about it. Everyone just assumes that just because Doc is a pacifist they must be weak. Only people who know better are the zombies and me the Captain."

"Why did Doc become a pirate?"

"...Doc didn't have a choice. Once they lost their license and people went after the poor guy. Doc really doesn't like being a pirate but the Doc doesn't have a choice. Too many people want doc dead and its not like the Doc can go back to being a proper doctor."

"What's so special about Doc then?"

"...Doc ate the Sick Sick Fruit. Which made Doc into a walking breathing intelligent bioweapon. Naturally a Sick Man can't be a doctor now can they? Much less the government letting that person just walk free. Nowadays doc hides inside his special hazard suit all day long."

You have a feeling there is something more to the story about doc and why everyone wants him dead. Which the pirate captain seemed to sense.

"Don't ask. I all I know is one day the world government gave Doc an offer, but he refused. Like I said Doc is a pacifist who used to be an amazing doctor."

"Then why eat the Sick Sick Fruit?"

"...There was a plague in a kingdom. Doc was there. People were dying. Men. Women. Elderly. Children. Didn't matter the Doctors didn't have enough time to come up with a cure before everyone was dead. There was also the quarantine."
>>
Rolled 21 (1d100)

>>1934496
"Naturally with such troubles civil war erupted. The World Government and Resistance both got involved. Turning a sick kingdom into a wartorn one as well. Doc...Doc didn't take it well and was caught right in the middle. The cure to the plague even with the Sick Sick Fruit wasn't so easy to design. So Doc gathered up the healthy people and tried to help them get out before it was too late."

"Naturally they were refused and when the crowd pressed the marines opened fired. The Resistance meanwhile took advantage to recruit people and rile them up. Turned everything into a bloodbath of the innocent and healthy. Doc...Doc snapped."

"Doc came up with the cure to the plague...but at the same time released countless pathogens. The Marines had little choice but to initiate a Buster Call on the kingdom. At the same time both the World Government and Resistance made Doc a job offer."

"So it was doc's fault after all," you note.

"Wrong. Did you forget what I said about earlier? The 'pathogens' doc unleashed were harmless. Just enough to make you sick enough to be taken out of the fight but not to kill. Doc's cure for the plague was also contagious and immunized everyone. The Buster Call went through anyway and once they realized their mistake. They pushed all the blame on Doc. Twisted the whole truth."

"Made all those little pathogens into lethal ones. Said Doc was behind the whole thing and even invented that Plague to begin with. In the end Doc was blamed for everything and at the end of it all they still had the guts to send Doc a job offer which he naturally refused."

"That...that is one terroifying power," you admit.

"That it is," interrupts a voice. "Speaking behind my back now are we," hisses a shrouded up figure.

"What would you rather him believe the official story is true? Find out the truth only AFTER he met you?" Defends the pirate captain.

"Noisy captain. In matter of speaking the official story wasn't wrong."

"Yeah they just over inflated everything and turned you into the nonexistent mastermind. So how was the clean up job?"

"Marines will be hard pressed to follow. Too sick to chase you see. So whose the kid anyway?"

"Cabin Boy and he has three eyes. Cool right?"

"Three Eye Tribesman how...unexpected," agrees Doc as he takes a closer look at you. Allowing you to see despite the fog is strange birdlike mask and suit that showed not a single bit of skin or hair. The Doc was also wearing a soiled coat and what you think to be filled with medicines, poisons, and medical tools. "...I don't see what so's special about him," suddenly admits the Doc after staring at you for a disturbingly long time.

"He boarded the ship on his to join."

"Despite it being haunted, crewed by the undead, and whose doctor is a 'war criminal'?"

"Exactly," says the pirate captain nodding.

"...He has some serious balls alright. Now I can understand," agrees with the Doctor who stands back up. "Ship is right over there. Just follow me."

"Wait I thought we were a lot further away," mutters the pirate captain.

"Sense of direction is difficult in dense fog. That and the zombies moved the ship closer."

"Any way to deal with the marine ships?"

"Sick bombs unless we wanna capture one," comments the former Doctor Sicko.

"I don't think we have the crew for that. Anyway once we get on board I'll build the long ranged special cannon but I am gonna need those sick bombs to fire," orders the Pirate captain as you finally exit the fog. Revealing a much nicer looking dock and a still haunted looking ship.

"Righto captain," nods the good former Doctor as he peers at you as you climb up to the boat. "This kind...he seems smart."

"That he is. Little quiet and awfully weak." Says the Captain as he starts his building of the cannon.

"Guns care not for the strength of its owner and poison doesn't either. Once we are done here I will give him some poisons to defend himself with," speaks the Doc through his mask as he pulls out some strange glass bombs filled with a whirling sinister looking vapor.

"Ah...your planning to use him for THOSE strategies again aren't you."

"Well ever since the last one ran away certainly. They were very good strategies."

"...That is why the last one ran away in the first place," counters the pirate captain as he finishes building the cannon and starts loading it. The ship meanwhile is prepared by the crew to take off. Awaiting only the first mate as more of the zombies loaded with goodies stumble their way on board. The doc meanwhile hands you a book and bag full of vials.

"basic Book of poisons and vials full of poison. First you need to learn how to defend yourself. Poisons and learning to shoot better make that easy."

"What if I want to be strong?" You ask trying to see a reaction within those glass eye holes and mask.

"Being strong is much easier to accomplish if your smart about it. Think about it first."

"How about one of them devil fruits?"

That made the captain stumble and the Doc carefully look over at him. "Devil fruits?" The doc asks the captain.

"Well there had to be a good reason to cause such trouble yeah? Otherwise how would all of this trouble have been worth it?"

"What kind Captain?"

"Corpse Corpse Fruit and I need to identify the other one."

"Corpse Corpse Fruit? That devil fruit is deathly cursed and useless."

"Yeah...maybe if we didn't have a way to make zombies it could of been useful." Agrees the captain.

Suddenly the first mate shows up and shouts at the captain "Corpse CORPSE Fruit? We went through all this trouble...FOR A DEVIL FRUIT THAT KILLS ITS USER?"

"Well when you put it like that...make it sound bad," defends the Captain. "And hey chances are the second fruit isn't one of those cursed fruits!"

"I swear if its something useless like a fucking Human Human fruit I am gonna kill you," states the First Mate as he orders the crew to launch off.

"Oh come on what are the odds of it being a human human fruit?" Says the captain getting the last word in before the cannons drowned out the arguing. You meanwhile being the nerd you are were torn between reading and watching the show. Of the ghost ship dodging past the undermanned Marine ships and shooting at them. With the usual cannons and the odd gassy explosion. Only to break free and you could at long last see the sun over the ocean.

After that you pulled out the books and took a closer look at them. All the while thinking that now your adventure has officially started at long last. Far sooner then most. Right when you were about to get absorbed in your book a first mate poked you and spoke.

"Time to meet the crew kid," says the first mate who intrudes himself as Hess Jenkins. After that he introduced the others.

Pirate Captain Boris Klein 'The Machine'. Bounty 2.2 million Beri. The formerly charismatic Machine Man.

Pirate Doctor Sicko actual name Jacky Koffins. Bounty 55 Million Beri. The deadly pacifist.

Pirate First Mate Hess Jenkins Bounty 1 million. A zombie officer. Never sleeps.

Pirate Cook Rotters actual name Gibbs Grove. The Zombie Chef. Makes surprisingly edible food from just about anything.

Finally...there was a short childish figure among them who surprisingly wasn't you and the whole crew looks at the captain.

"...Really you actually DID grab a kid?"

"In my defense that kid over there ate a devil fruit. Why would I ever pass that up?"

You ask around the crew about where the devil fruits when. According to them the unidentified fruit got grabbed by the Captain who took to his quarters with the Devil Fruit ID book and the other devil fruit got thrown away in the treasury. Apparently the plan for what do with it is still in the works. The most popular bets on what do with it being to pawn it off on an idiot or to gamble/trade it for another devil fruit. Though some of the crew says Doctor Sicko was looking at it awfully carefully as if they might have a plan for it.

Overall nobody seems interested in the cursed fruit and are awaiting to hear what the other one is first. There is some gambling involving on what the second fruit could be and who will eat it.

The only other kid was currently fishing on the side of the boat. Gazing at the water as if it held the secrets of the universe. He was wearing the odd combo of a long sleeved shirt with shorts and was bare foot. Taking a closer look the kid also had short spiky hair that was clearly unkempt. You gave in and approached.

"What's your devil fruit power," you couldn't help but ask.

"Zoan type." Calmly replies the kid as he continues fishing.

"What kind?"

"Model Black Tiger Snake according to the Captain I just knew it was a snake of some kind."

"Oh...nice. So how did the Captain find you?"

"He also has devil fruit powers and I am new at this. Turns out not only is he not a Zoan type but he sucks at using devil fruit powers," bitterly complains the other kid. "Originally I approached him when I saw him help out some people by fixing some machinery for them. Now...here I am on a haunted pirate ship crewed by zombies. I got ripped off."

Meanwhile among the zombie pirates who were watching the show. "Didn't think it would take so long for it to sink in."

"Yeah but you gotta consider how scared they were. Fear had to wear off first before they could feel it properly," explains another zombie pirate.

"Any idea about the devil kid?"

"Boss says she's a zoan type model Snake of some kind but isn't sure what exactly."

"I thought the snakes were pretty straightforward?"

"Yeah but there are a lot of snakes. Might even be an ancient Zoan."

Beginner's Guide to Poisoning
Chapter 1 Cleanliness will save your life...
Chapter 2 Why Poison is poison to everyone...

Soon you lose track of time as you are absorbed with a book telling you how to not poison yourself or others and how to use poison safely. The different ways to use poison. When to use poison. What kind of poisons you should consider using. How to turn medicine into usable poison. When Poison becomes Medicine.

It introduced many things that you soon realize is a rather deep field. For now though you think you might be able to use poison without poisoning yourself. So long as you avoid the poison gas anyway...you hope. Look around you realized you lost track of time. Hours had passed as you read the entire book. Now you need a new one.

So you head off to get something to eat and find Sicko who probably has more books you can find. There you have a bland meal that at least looks edible even if it did come from the hands of a zombie cook...but in a few days should you not get food poisoning you know for certain.

When you went to find you found the Captain had beaten you there and was conversing with the Doc.

"I can't figure out what kind of fruit this is all I got is a zoan...i think."

"You think?"

"Look at this see...it looks really similar to this zoan type here but there are slight differences."

"Hm...it might not even be a zoan type then."

"Oh fucking hell for real?"

"The smallest difference is very important. It might be of the same type yeah or it might be an entirely different kind."

"Anyway to find out without stuffing it inside someone's mouth?"

"Afraid not. Looks like it isn't in the average devil fruit ID book, but not all devil fruits are on it."

"Figures a useless devil fruit that will kill you and an unidentified devil fruit. Seems like it wasn't worth the trouble we just got in."

"I think that useless devil fruit might not be so useless after all."

"...Huh? Wait what?"

"If I could make zombies...is the Corpse Corpse Fruit really that lethal?"

"Yes it is. Nobody has EVER survived eating it and the only reason why its called a Corpse Corpse fruit is because the body always turns into a corpse!"

"But what if...they weren't truly dead? At least not at first."

"Now your talking nonsense...wait are you saying...they aren't dead? At least not truly?"

"Perhaps. I think there might be a way to revive afterwards...or it might be some kind of trial."

"Trial?"

"Something that dies is suppose to stay dead but recall the Revive Revive fruit. Its power doesn't manifest right away...a sort of test. What if the Corpse Corpse fruit is the same way? Its just that everyone whose tried has failed the test and therefore truly died."

"So how do you pass the test if that is the case huh? It makes you dead...there is no coming ba-fuck your right. Its gotta have some kind of catch like the Revive Revive fruit but what?"

"That is ultimately the question. Its very high stakes."

"I don't see why we should be considering this. We both already have devil fruit powers and its not like we are gonna figure it out. It makes sense it makes people die."

"By that making people die logic a poison poison fruit should kill the eater."

"It makes them immune so no it wont. I don't think the corpse corpse fruit makes you immune to death given how they all died. So there might be a trick to it but come on man we both already ate devil fruits."

"Fine you still sucking with your devil fruit powers?" Asks Doctor Sicko to the captain.

"Man I don't know how you do it, but its driving me insane. I can sense my body but I can't morph. I can feel all those materials but can't morph them into usable parts or machinery. I can disassemble at will but cannot assemble unless I know what to build. I can morph parts and turn them into something else. Its driving me crazy I know cyborgs exist so I should obviously be able to do some body work but I got nothing."

"You need to work on control and design, but have you ever thought that maybe your trying to push your paramecia devil fruit power beyond the limits of paramecia fruit?"

"Oh come on like your Sick Sick fruit isn't bullshit. I mean you even figured out a way to make freaking zombies with it."

"My power is in truth very...very limited range of potential. Your the lucky one."

"LUCKY? You any idea how hard it is to use my power?"

"Psht as if you can manipulate MACHINERY you son of a bitch. I am stuck with freaking germs."

"GERMS THAT CAN BRING THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

"Fuck you they are merely infected and can an infection bring someone back to life?"

The two soon descended into arguing when you spoke up interrupting them.

>>1935241
"When did you get here," asks the Captain.

"Better be before 'its not the type of devil fruit that matters but how you use it' bullshit."

"Damn it Captain now you got the kid involved," comments Doctor Sicko.

"Oh your not gonna pin this one on me. He is obviously here because your the only other nerd on board by ship."

"Really he probably wants to eat the damned thing or that unknown one."

"Why would i waste a devil fruit on the kid?"

"For the same reason you recruited the other kid."

"Doh that hurt," says the Captain rubbing his chest. "Difference is that kid already ate a devil fruit which I can't even properly identify."

"Really? I mere snake Zoan you can't even identify?"

"Yeah, you any idea how many frigging snakes there are in the world and that isn't even getting into the extinct species."

"So what now your saying he might be ancient zoan now? What's next Mythic?"

Soon despite your interruption they start arguing again once more. You noticed right there on the table is a devil fruit next to a book...the unidentified devil fruit.

You decide to borrow a book and leave them to their arguing. Given the lack of looks from the zombies apparently its a regular thing. The book you grabbed is an anatomy book talking about the human body. Useful enough but you were sad over the lack of info regarding the tribesman anatomy. Heading back up to the dead you see an unfortunate blind folded black snake forced into fighting the first mate. Given the shouts of pain and the inability to counterattack sounds like the kid is getting his ass kicked.

"Come on already snaky snaky. You got more then eyes now don't you," says the first mate grabbing the snake and throwing him against the deck. "Where are those snaky senses of yours?"

"Gah just you wait you stupid zombie. I am so gonna kick your ass when this blind fold finally falls off."

Which made some nearby zombies giggle strangely causing you to look over and see an opened bottle of super glue.

When you heard a thought you were surprised to see the zombie first mate laying on the floor. "See kid that was a pretty good leg sweep," he comments as he picks himself back up. "Too bad for you us zombies can take one hell of a beating." The snake's victory was thus short lived as it proceeded to get the crap beat of it so much it changed back into a human. Who upon realizing the blindfold was glued on screamed loudly in anger before shouting about how they are all a bunch of filthy cheaters.

"Tch like pirates would ever fight fair. Now have your eyes adjusted to the night rather well since you were blindfolded."

"Fine yeah its not as bad as I tho-" He never got to finish when the first mate punched him. "Dumb kid ever heard of a distraction?" Then kept on pummeling him not even getting a chance to transform. "Oh come on Snaky Snake why would the enemy ever GIVE you time to transform?"

"UGh leave me alone you cheating old asshole," complains the kid with tears in his eyes as he wobbles away.

"Oh come kid I can do this ALL night. Sleep is for the weak." That was when he turned his evil cheap shot hitting eyes noticed you.

You realize that fighting fair was going to result in you getting your ass kicked. I mean even the guy with the devil fruit power got his butt kicked much less someone like you. So you did the smart and dirty thing. Pulling out your pistol you aimed for his kneecaps. Sadly he was much faster then you were expecting. By the time you drew your pistol out of its holster the First Mate was already right in front of you. You panicked and fired. Only to feel two piercing pains and heard a loud BOOM. Looking at the first mate you could see he was completely unharmed and was actually staring at you with wide eyes. You felt great pain in your hand and your foot. Looking over you couldn't help but scream when you realize your pistol exploded in your hand and the bullet struck your foot.

Even the other pirates were amazed and had wide open mouths as they stared at the first mate.

"What the hell I didn't even touch him how could this be MY fault?" Yelled the first mate at the crew. "SOMEONE GET THE DOCTOR. Kid really needs to learn some basic gun karate or Gun Fu basics."

The doctor arrived surprisingly quickly as you entered a world of pain. He rushed over to you and stabbed you with a needle. After that you got consumed by darkness. Sometime later you awoke in the infirmary finding your hand and foot covered in bandages. The doc was also there messing with some chemistry equipment and microscopes while occasionally jotting some stuff down.

"When can the bandages come off doc?" You croak out with a dry throat and noticed a nearby glass of water. Which you quickly chug down.

"Few weeks to a couple days. Depends on if I inject you with the Hydra Virus or not."

"Hydra Virus?"

"Causes complete regeneration of the bodily injuries. Still haven't work out the kinks though. Last time I injected one of the crew with it they tried to eat someone, alive. I THINK I was able to remove that flaw however. Maybe. Gotta test it to find out for sure or not."

"The crew volunteered for that sorta thing?"

"If you hadn't noticed they are zombies they don't exactly have a whole lot to lose. What with already being half dead and everything. So you wanna test it out?"

Fortunately there were many books in the infirm. Admittedly medical books mostly so it was very dry, but hey at least you weren't completely bored out of your mind. In the end you didn't accept the offer of the Hydra Virus.

Elsewhere among the crew a captain and first mate were talking.

"How are the new recruits?"

"Usual melee combatants. The zombiefying isn't popular among the non brutes. Snake kid meanwhile needs better control over their power. The three eyed kid...he sucks at everything except for smarts."

"Even gunnery?"

"Especially gunnery. Blew up his hand and shot his own foot at the same time."

"Think Doctor Sicko will be able to turn him around?"

"Doctor Sicko is a pacifist. I thought maybe if we had a gunner in the crew to teach him but the only gunner is you Captain."

"Still no zombie sharpshooters?"

"Being a zombie doesn't help your aim. Recoil yeah but not aim."

"Think we should stop by the Sharp Isles?"

"Rough place Captain even the Marines avoid those isles. Too easy to get shot and ambushed there. Not to mention too hard to really maneuver ships through them very well."

"We still need a good navigator no offense first mate but your not that good."

"No offense taken but seriously though what should we do with the cabin boy kid?"

"Treat him as a helper and beat him into shape over time."

A couple weeks later a haunted ship leaves a empty island from a hidden cove and heads to a different island. Now that the heat has had time to cool and they headed to a small chain of islands. Notorious for their difficult waters and jagged cliffs. A haven of gunners since long ago because while moving to other islands is difficult shooting at them is not. There a ghost ship appears in the dark of night and sets anchor.

"Alright so here is the plan we'll be visiting a town called Gunmetal. In search of a cursed gunsmith," says the Captain before the crew.

"Why the hell are we looking for a cursed gunsmith instead of an ordinary one?" Asks one of the crew.

"Simple. He is gonna be the only one with the guts to join a haunted pirate ship crewed by zombies," explains the Captain. "Not to mention I sorta know the guy but I lost touch with him awhile back ever since he went to these isles for some reason."

"What's his curse then," asks another crew member.

"He's a Curse Magnet and attracts cursed firearms of all kinds to himself. If I didn't know any better I would of thought he ate a curse curse devil fruit or something but he ain't one of them. Probably due to him not wanting anymore curses to following him. Naturally thanks to said curse people think the guns he makes are also similarly cursed. Which they aren't. Well not since I last checked anyway."

"Now the only reason I am bringing you zombies around is this islands are a notorious and dangerous. Not even the marines lightly show up here. They long have become a breeding ground villainy and black market deals."

All things considered even before these islands fell to crime infestation its long been a tradition to make great guns. Best in all of North Blue at that. We wont be finding any better until we find one of those technologically advanced islands on the Grand Line."

"You zombies following Doc are to help recruit. We need some proper gunners and sharpshooters who can actually aim our cannons worth a damn. Those following first mate are going to do some trading and transport. The rest of you who aren't guarding the bloody ship are to search for the gunsmith."

"Oh and one more thing try to avoid picking a fight here. Pissing off the Marines is one thing but all the smugglers, pirates, and other criminal scum is a whole other. Yes i know you can probably beat the shit out of them all because your all a bunch of freaking zombies but that doesn't mean I wanna clean up the mess. Not to mention your fools aren't immortal."

Looks like Captain barely wins.

You decide to follow the Captain who heads to a town that stank heavily of gun smoke. It was a very rough place buildings made of stone, brick, and wood. With the sounds of industries and smithing. Gun stores were everywhere and black market trades was done in the open brazenly. Everyone here had a gun and looked like they knew how to use it. Which didn't do much to stop the fighting.

The Captain and zombies went to do their business. With the Captain disappearing into gun stores and bars. Only to later emerge drunker and carrying more guns. While paying particular attention to the gun factories which produced the weapons in mass. The Captain was practically drooling while staring at them in particular.

Nobody however had any luck in finding the cursed gunsmith in the shady town of Gunmetal. Resulting in the Captain heading deeper into the island until he found a bridge that crossed over sheer cliffs and down far below crashing violent waves. There when one of the zombie pirates attempted to cross some bandits tried to force them into paying a toll. This didn't go well for the robbers as they were thrown off the cliff and bridge by the zombies. Only trouble occurred when they tried to cross as someone from across the bridge shot at anyone who tried.

This angered the captain as they were being stopped and the zombies were getting shot. Though it looked like its gonna take awhile to whiddle their health down. They were unbelievably tough.

In response the Captain introduced the enemy gunners to the terror that is suppression artillery barrage. After blowing the other side's cover into bit along with whoever thought they could hide and snipe away. The pirates then made their way across. You noticed after that show of strength nobody tried to the rob the zombie pirate crew. As the Captain showed them who all who had the biggest gun was him.

You decide to look around for the cursed gunsmith. This time your luck was good the people of Cannon City have indeed heard of that cursed fellow. He came by challenging gunsmith about their skill and acquiring cursed guns from their unlucky owners. Many a formerly cursed and pawn shop owner celebrated when those cursed guns they couldn't get rid of suddenly left of their own volition. Sadly he was no longer in town having left to supposedly challenge some hermit master gunsmiths or onto the next town.

Still gave you time to travel around and get the catch the sights few as they maybe. Most of impressive of which was a gigantic firing range where cannons are tested loudly. There were a number of foundries and cannon makers carefully producing cannons. The like of which everyone who has the money to afford it wanna buy for their sheer quality. The sharp isles are famous for their weaponry after all and cannon city is the best of the sharp isles at cannon making. Fortunately the Marines are usually too cheap to use many of their cannons. Good thing to for the pirates.

This didn't mean the other gun shops were lacking as weapons had a way of traveling around on these isles. It wasn't hard to find top quality smaller sized firearms. Most impressive you even saw a giant shopping around for a 'gun' sized to a giant. Hence having to go here of all place. More shocking was you saw the Captain was having a great time talking with the giant and was actually advising the giant about what to look for. Which the giant agreed saying he tried 'normal' sized cannons and they didn't fit right. After that your Captain got real excited and started drawing a very large diagram in the dirt...of an oversized cannon adapted into a gun format for a giant's grip.

Apparently he completely forgot about why he even came here. You couldn't help but shake your head and walk away. Clearly it was up to you and rest of the crew to fulfill the entire reason you even came here...but all these guns really made you wanna take a closer look.

You decide to do the job and find the guy. After asking around you find out about where roughly some of those reclusives live. Apparently they left civilization so they wouldn't get bothered so much. Meaning they are gonna be out of their way in the wilderness somewhere. Thus you went into the wilderness searching. Sadly you didn't get very far before some bandits came out to rob or kill you. You could see their eyes glitter at the prospect of such 'easy' prey as a little three eyed kid.

Seeing yourself surrounded you let them get closer before you threw down the poison bomb grenade at your feet. It shattered and the poison gas billowed out wildly. You could hear the bandits curse about 'fucking smoke grenade'. It didn't take long for complaints of severe pain and difficulty moving around set in. Then the truth of it being poison suck in and the bandits started to panic eager to find you as you should have an antidote.
A basic paralytic and you included some severe pain causing poisons. Tricking them into thinking its much more severe then it is. Thereby spreading panic and the fools made the mistake believing it was just a basic smoke bomb.

You gotta admit those pirates had a good point about fighting dirty and you realized that playing it smart was actually quite powerful. Even as a weakling look what happened with just a single move because you were smart about it?

Only problem remains is the cloud obscured your vision just as it did theirs but time was on your side. The time that passed the more the poison had time to sink in.

Gonna combine these two given lack of combo breaker.

You decide to leave but on the way out that doesn't mean you can't take down a few of them.

Sadly you aren't exactly in your element given how blind you are. Gonna have to work on that with ordinary smoke or blindfolded. Fortunately the enemy is even worse given how they are also poisoned.

On the way out you swiped at a few with your sword. Probably missed half and you don't know how much damage you did with the other half. When you finally exited after looking around to make sure they didn't bring backup you went on your way. Apparently they got full of themselves seeing a single kid, but boy did you show them!

Sadly wandering in the forests and mountains trying to find a hermit who doesn't wanna be found is a huge pain. Fortunately said hermits also need to forge stuff. After a short while you soon realized the optimum approach is gonna be heading the big fat smoke stacks in the middle of nowhere.

Sure enough you find a house and a forge. With a man in the forge busy grinding out some gun barrels with mere hand tools and doing it surprisingly quickly. When you asked the man about the cursed gunsmith he noticbly stopped tensing. Probably thought you were someone wanting to shop for a new gun and the exact type of person he moved way the fuck out of here to avoid. Fortunately you were not one of those people so he didn't outright ignore you and told you what he knew.

"Cursed gunsmith with all the cursed guns? Yup I know him. Honestly at first i thought he was a collector. Great guy finally was able to get rid of some of my cursed creatio-ahem I mean some cursed belongings of mine. Didn't even need to pay him just asked for some pointers."

"Then do you know where he went?"

"Eh probably to visit the other hermits. I am not exactly the only hermit gunsmith on these islands. The towns are just way too busy for us. I mean I am sure they would also just love to lose some of cursed cr-ah belongs of theirs."

"So which one did you advise to see next then?"

"Oh that's...wait how did you know i advise him on who to see next?"

"I guessed."

"Huh your one smart kid. I told him to find the traveling hermit gunsmith Hans. If he couldn't find him which wouldn't be surprising I told him to see Sid on the cliffs. Ornery bastard just loves using the ocean and passing ships for target practice. He has a knack for being able to test things out properly."

"He doesn't sound friendly..."

"Oh he ain't, but that cursed gunsmith has a gift. I doubt even Crazy Sid is gonna shoot him."

Great. The next person he visited is Sid and frankly your smart enough to realize trying to visit Sid is liable to get yourself shot. Shooting yourself in the foot and blowing up your hand is bad enough. You like to think you learned your lesson.

"...How long ago was this roughly?"

"Hm about a week ago. The Cursed Gunsmith spent time visiting all the towns and cities first before us."
>>

Oh good now you don't gotta go see Sid since he's long gone from there by now and you gotta give him credit for thoroughness. Only problem is trying to find this punk whose wandering around in the wilderness tracking down hermits is gonna be a huge pain. But your smart so you got this.

Just gotta be smart about it...

"Any idea where he would go after visiting Sid?"

"Hm...not really no. Oh wait he's been visiting hermits according to our specialty. He visited all the generalists guys first. Now he's working on the specialists. Sid is a Master of Cannons so he might have finished it already in which case he moved on to the next specialty or he's still on Cannons."

"What are you master of by chance?"

"Bombs."

"Oh...nice. I am fan of poison ones myself."

"Hah smart kid after all. Poison perfect for a weak kid like you! But don't forget explosives and guns can be just as effective!"

"You wouldn't happen to have a list of people he's going to?"

"Afraid mine wont be accurate. See he took tallies of which Master hermits we each listed according to whose best. After visiting all the generalists who are the least biased. He created his own list from all of the names they suggested."

Damn this guy is too fucking thorough.

"...In that case did he show you the last per chance?"

"Eh only the Bomb one. He wanted my admittedly biased opinion."

Problem is he's already on cannons from what you said...

"When did he go to see Sid then?"

"Within the week probably. He already finished most of the Bomb list and asked about the Cannon masters who were nearby."

"Did he show you the list of cannon master names?"

"Yup."

Fucking finally a damn lead you could actually use.

"Any idea which ones he is gonna visit then?"

"Well there is Chain Master, Double Down Master, and Sniping Master Sid. Even he is still on this island he's visiting one of those two. Otherwise he would have left to a different island."

You spend some money on some bombs. Delicious explosives and good thing being a pirate pays well. His bombs weren't cheap, but you doubt many are even given the chance to buy them.

>Gained Masterwork Bombs. Meaning these bombs are incapable of critical failure resulting in the default of being a Dud only. In addition to that they also are considered reliable and extra powerful. Getting wet wont be enough to disable it for instance and thus they can work underwater.

After buying up some bombs and getting some directions you decide to see the Double Down Hermit Master of Cannons. Your not entirely sure why he's called that but you'll probably find out when you get there. Thus you once more depart. Walking through the forest, hiking up mountains, and climbing cliffs. It was on a desolate cliff that you had finished climbing and walked into a forest when your eyes noticed some fruit bushes of some kind. More importantly your eyes caught sight of a strange looking fruit on one of them...it couldn't be?

Is...that a devil fruit?

After plucking the fruit you carried on your way. Now humming a merry tune as your luck has suddenly turned very good indeed. Hopping on a trail you followed it to the next twin billowing smoke stacks which apparently signifies the Double Down Master's place of residence and work. Once you got there you saw a large warehouse and a smaller house some distance away. You heard some loud ringing and banging coming from the warehouse. As you got closer you noticed there was a nearby tent and large pile of guns neatly stacked before it in. Some of them looked quite ordinary, others looked like a piece of art, and the rest looked quite sinister.

Strangely the give you the feeling of 'standing at attention' and impossible to get 'misplaced'.

You decide to knock at the door. Bit difficult given how heavy they were. You ended up picking up a nearby rock and smashing it against the door a few times in order to produce a solid knock. Shortly after you heard some cursing coming from inside.

"Looks like your awfully popular for a hermit."

"Fuck you Zane and your lousy cursed collection."

"I can agree to the last part but the first I prefer to use my hand or female companionship thank you very much."

"Why don't you go deal with the asshole getting in the way of my work then huh?"

"What and miss the important parts? Never."

"GAH I can it be important when I am being interrupted huh? How could it POSSIBLY turn out good! If my creation process worked like that I would never have become a fucking hermit now would I?"

"...Fine but this one doesn't count then deal?"

"Ooh now your just pissing me off."

"I guess I could leave those rejected children of yours that you should of aborted behind. Surely someone else will come to take them off your hands no?"

"You drive a hard bargain, but fine."

"No take backs!"

After that the door opened and you found a gun pointed in your face.

"Now-a kid? Why is a kid like you doing way the fuck out here?"

"Looking for a cursed gunsmith and now I found you."

"HAH...wait the guest wasn't for me," asks the hermit confused.

"Apparently not," confirms the cursed gunsmith Zane. "Now why would a kid like you be looking for someone like me?"

"Captain was looking for you. Said you were the only gunsmith crazy enough to board a haunted ship crewed by zombies."

"H...huh?" Now the hermit was even more confused.

"..." Zane meanwhile stood there silently trying to process.

"Okay you lost me," admits Zane. "A Captain of a haunted ship crewed by zombies is looking for me why exactly?"

"Said you were the only one willing to join."

Now the hermit inside was snickering loudly.

"...Am I really that fucking desperate looking?" Asks Zane trying to redeem himself.

"Gotta say you got some special curse alright. Not only is cursed weapons attracted to you but ships and people too! HAHHAAHHAHAHAHA," now the hermit was laughing loudly.

Clearly what remained of Zane's pride crumbled then and there.

"...Fuck I am never gonna get a legitimate job now am I," whines Zane with tears in his eyes.

"Hate to break it to you but I don't think that ever was an option for you," continues laughing the dick ass hermit.

"Hey now it ain't that bad. The pays good and we got like two bad asses on the Crew already!" You try to speak up.

Dat 96 for convincing Zane.

You ended having to wait until they were finished and discovered the Cannon Hermit was no ordinary gunsmith. The cannons he made were double barreled. The kind that the Marines gush over for their battleships. After that you talked to him about his career options and merely confirm that due to his curse. Not very many people were ever gonna wanna hire him. Fewer even then those willing to risk 'buying' his merchandise which they may think is cursed(which he swears isn't true). Right when you thought you could finally get him away. He insists on forging just one more time with the hermit.

You ended up waiting for hours before finally departing with him and making a long journey back. In the dark of night which honestly after living on a haunted pirate ship for weeks on end is absolutely nothing to you. Spooky nighttime forest is practically a holiday in comparison. Difficult part was making sure you didn't get lost but Zane knew where he was going.

Finally you got back to Cannon City which much to surprise there was still a giant there with the Captain whom were now at the cannon testing field...shooting at targets with giant guns made for giant hands. Why he was still up hanging out with a giant he just met you didn't bother to ask. Merely informing Zane that 'guy hanging with the giant' was your captain. He went on over to negotiate while you found a nice comfy in to crash on.

Eagerly awaiting the day when you could 'borrow' that devil fruit book to see which devil fruit you picked up is.

Next day came and you went out. Only to see the giant, Captain, and Zane were still at with testing giant sized guns. Looks like they didn't bother to sleep last night and you found yourself questioning the company you kept.

Seems the consensus is to find a great gun. Luckily your in the best kingdom in all of North Blue to find the best guns. Unfortunately you don't have much ever since you spent most of your money on explosive ordinance. Fortunately for you encountered the First Mate you gave you your pay. After that he and the rest of the crew went back to carrying cannons on their backs heading back to the ship. A very impressive display of zombie strength. Why they were collecting so many cannons though you don't really understand, then again the Captain probably had another scheme in mind. How he came up with that since he met the giant you have no idea.

After that you looked around. Imagining guns that shoot syringes and bombs. Store after store full of guns. You finally settled for a pawn shop and bought a pistol.

Gained one Great Quality Blackpowder Pistol

After coming out you finally saw an interesting sight. There was a gun duel going on but not like you have ever seen before. Instead of staying away from each other they fired with duel pistols. Right up into melee range where shockingly they started kicking, pistol whipping, dodging, and shooting. In a great display of Gun Fu.

What do?

You decide to watch the duel. The storm of blows and gunshots that ring out. Equal parts melee and ranged combat rolled up into one. Fast and deadly as a gunshot. As brutal as a punching and bashing contest. Dancing between dodging and fighting the other. You never thought that such ranged weapons could be used in such close quarters yet here they are. After awhile a winner finally comes through by cleverly shooting the knee of the other. Resulting in him crashing into the ground and surrendering before the pain set in properly.

After that you and the other watchers of the fight wandered off. In your case you went to the cannon testing range. Where you found a giant sitting down cradling his new firearm before a bonfire with roasting whole...your pretty sure that's actually a whale. Frigging giants. Near him you saw a drunken and still sleep deprived Captain conversing with Zane about the odds of one of his curse guns choosing an owner and if it were possible for him to 'lend' them to others safely. Nearby you could see some dancing pirate zombies and a first mate who got into an arm wrestling match with Sicko. From the looks of the sweat pouring down the First Mate's face and Sicko sipping nonchalantly a drink through a straw through his mask. Shockingly looks like First Mate actually gonna lose.

Considering all the depressed zombies watching the whole affair before a big pile of earnings its safe to say they all bet on First Mate winning. Oddly enough you don't recall there being this many zombies in the crew. Guess the recruitment had some results.

What do?
>Challenge the giant to a drinking contest

Nigga I got an entire crew themed around wood and trees that I was planning on using for a quest or campaign sometime, so back the fuck up.

Nah you're cool brah.

Still though, a wood logia seems kinda ridic for a player character before New World. I hope we're extra vulnerable to fire at least.

>>1947440
It's not actually honey bro. It's just a liquid. It's implied to be almost jelly-like however, given its name, so it might actually be royal jelly from a hive. I bet if she tried Honey Queen could have commanded the BEEEEEEEES.

>>Other: Practice with your gun at the testing range, if you're going to shoot yourself again it may as well be on an island where treating misfired gunshot wounds must be terribly common.
>>
>>1947461
Eh, wood is more resistant to catching fire than flesh so weakness is a bit too strong a word

>>1947440
>Get something to eat

Also, fairly solid logia means haki synergy shenanigans, though it would be a while before we even learn about haki
>>
>>1947483
Yeah but Logia is broken as fuck in the first half of the Grand Line, let alone in a podunk little Blue. I'd personally play up the Fire > Wood weakness, just like so many other games do, because it's intuitive even if it isn't necessarily truth.
>>
Rolled 83 (1d100)

>>1947461
Actually Wood Type Logia isn't THAT overpowered simply because guess what? Your not bullet proof OR Cut proof. Don't think you can survive getting punched and kicked easily. Look at how often they practice by punching down trees and shattering wooden posts.

Honestly in terms of Logia bullshit its actually one of the weakest. Even many paramecia devil fruits are honestly better then it in terms of defense.

Offense it isn't nearly as shitty, but defensively its absolutely among the weakest Logia type devil fruits. On the plus side ordinary water wont make you its bitch nearly as easily because to a degree you can absorb it. Meaning so long as you aren't drowning in it or swamped you'll be fine.

Salt water on the other hand is extra lethal to you. Things that wouldn't normally bother a devil fruit user with salt water is like OH FUCK IT HURTS and is extra crippling.

Also beware fire, lightning, and frost.

Also poison and disease...and yeah.

On the other hand its absolutely gonna be among the top of Logias in terms of sheer tricky assholery you can do. Unfortunately that also means its extremely difficult fruit to use.

You think the Boss's Machine Machine fruit is bad?

Heh.
>>
Rolled 35 (1d100)

>>1947505
Basically the Wood Wood Logia devil fruit is very strange. It doesn't have the kind of strengths or weaknesses you would expect a Logia type fruit to have.

More importantly its possible usage and trickiness is more like you would expect of Paramecia.

You don't have the fuck you level defense a normal Logia would have. Neither do you have its sheer offensive potential. Yeah it can pack a much but much in the same way any devil fruit would.

However the Wood Wood type Logias greatest strength is its trickiness. Of which is absolutely gonna be among the top. Sadly this also means its among the hardest of all Devil Fruits to use much less master.

Meaning overall it has a very poor rep despite actually especially for being a Logia. On the other hand the very few figures who were capable of mastering it were absolute hellish foes to face. Far worse then typical Logia or awakened devil fruit users.
>>
>>1947505
I always felt that a wood logia would take the hits, unlike other logia's, and it would hurt like normal but they would be able to regenerate fairly quickly. Having access to sunlight and nutrients boosts this capability.

Kinda like it's not hard knocking a wood logia down, getting them to stay down is the trick.
>>
>>1947505
On the other hand, wood probably carries haki better than any other logia, our "voice the world" -if we unlock it- may synergize with it and if you allow it we could upgrade to Adam tree tier wood.

Course it's all hypotheticals and the crew has two other devil fruits, probably gonna sit on it for a while.
>>
>>1947505
Wouldn't it just regrow like how Aokiji's ice, when shattered, just reforms? I assumed that it being a logia it'd be like that, since the entire point of Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi is that it's the only Logia that's really susceptible to being hit/damaged.

So even when struck the Wood Logia shouldn't actually be hurt, from what I understand of the canon and logia fruits. Any wood that is shattered is not actually your body at all, the point of Haki is that it lets you hit the Logia-user's "true body" instead of its element.

I mean, that was my understanding but if it's not going to be like that then I guess I have less issue with it and you probably know what you're doing, so hey.
>>
>>1947540
I think the difference is that wood is a living thing instead of a true element(even if it's considered one in some mythologies). Which means it operates by more complex rules then other logias.
>>
>>1947528
Accelerated regen would only be possible if you entrench yourself. Which has some serious downsides. On the plus side for partial quick healing you can consume fat reserves+lots of water/sun but that works so long as you still got fat to convert. Otherwise the effect would greatly weaken.

On the plus side though a Wood Wood type user would indeed have fantastic stamina because no matter what they can still absorb the sun and water to help restore energy.

>>1947540
Wood Wood has a similar weakness to that of the Yami Yami but not as severe. Mostly despite not having the 'greatest' defenses your defenses are very much present...but they gotta get broken through and they living.

>>1947534
Haki would actually be hilariously ineffective against Wood because its not like your magically punching fire or water and making the blow hurt.

No matter what the Wood was always there you don't need to use Haki to damage the user because by destroying the plant matter guess what you're doing?

Basically Wood Wood Devil Fruit is a really REALLY weird Logia to the point where you honestly shouldn't even think of it as a Logia type in terms of proper usage and weaknesses.
>>
>>1947556
Then why term it a Logia, just as a matter of curiosity? It sounds more like a Tree Paramecia or somesuch, given how weird and "fuck the rules" Paramecia tend to get.

I guess it's not super important so I'll just forget about the whole thing anyway until we actually do something with the fruit and it's relevant again.
>>
>>1947556
Ah, by carry haki I mean't when we use haki we can do crazy luffy haki things, not carry haki like getting hit by it. Because other logia's seem to have trouble adding haki to thier attacks, or atleast, we havent seen any noted haki enhanced logia attacks.
>>
>>1947565
Probably because our body wont be all wood, all the time, and other logia-like paramecia seem to be about a specific type of object rather than material.
>>
>>1947551
Bingo.

That is exactly why Haki is hilariously ineffective against the Wood Logia.

Because what Haki basically does is forcefully enable you to touch living body 'hidden' within the element they changed into. Hence why its able to ignore Logia defenses.

HOWEVER because the wood type is ALIVE=body.

That's why the Haki doesn't work, because its attempt to connect to your 'real' body is already met because its ALL alive. Its ALL YOUR BODY~

So Haki doesn't do shit.

The only way Haki can harm a Wood Element user is if they are Awakened and they control other plants instead. In which case Haki can bypass the problem.

but an Awakened Wood Devil is capable of stripping entire islands of life. They are holy shit level nightmare strength. Not quite on the level of Whitebeard but honestly part of the same league.

>>1947565
The major difference besides elemental weaknesses is this.

Wood element is ALIVE.

Those other Logias? They don't have that problem but it also makes them very vulnerable to Haki and the like in exchange for early game buffs basically.

Wood element is pure suffering in the early game. Still shitty but at least now there is some benefits mid game and 'fuck all of you I a FINALLY strong' late game.
>>
>>1947440
We should talk to the giant, maybe he could help us with our shooting
>>
>>1947579
I'm curious now, what's the Devil Fruit with the most late-game potential, some sort of gadgeteering Devil Fruit that Vegapunk would use if he ever got one?
>>
>>1947579
So on that note is the logia's strength affected by the user's health to a higher degree than other logias? Say we hadn't had any water or slept in days, or had lost a lot of blood, would its power be weaker to reflect it?
>>
>>1947579
Basically when Haki is used on an Wood Logia its the exact same result you would expect from it being used on a Zoan type.

aka absolutely meaningless.

A wood logia however has a much easier type adjusting their body over a Zoan type because of their Logia nature. On the bottom side getting hit hurts no matter what.

>>1947577
Not exactly its like this.

Your body is obviously alive.

Plants are also alive.

plants=body with Wood Wood type.

It's precisely that reason why Haki is ineffective against Wood Wood Devil Fruit User.

>>1947567
As a matter of fact you would of much easier type doing so compared to other Logia because your plants are alive and your plants=your body.

>>1947590
Loss of water and sun would inhibit your stamina regen but that's about it.

Everything else wouldn't make a particular difference besides the weakness of having to use your power.

However be warned getting your plants hurt means YOU GET HURT TOO!

Your not immune to the damage your plants suffer in you stead its because they are alive and part of you.
>>
>>1947589
Depends.

The Machine Machine fruit should it have been given to an Engineer and eaten would of been a hell of lot more dangerous then what your Captain can do.

Basically in terms of potential is Devil Fruit Power x Owner ability= End Result.

In this case Machine Machine Devil Fruit x Engineer= Hell a lot more then your captain's end result.

There is also such thing as a learning curve and complexity of the devil fruit power in question is worth considering. Some Devil fruit powers require the proper finesse in order to be sufficiently deadly the Gas Gas fruit with Caeser Clown is such an example. Someone who wasn't a scientist wouldn't be NEARLY as capable of such unleashing shear overwhelming power, ingenious tricks, and raw devastation that Caesar Clown can because of his educated background and research into gases.

So that is also a big thing to consider.
>>
>>1947623
On the other hand something like fire and lightning is extremely straightforward in basic use.

Meaning your average dumb brute can easily use it to great effect. However you give that brute a Machine Machine fruit power or Gas Gas how well is that gonna turn out instead of giving it to Caesar Clown or Vegapunk?
>>
>>1947642

Not saying we have to choose the wood wood fruit. But I like it, and this is why.
Apparently we won't be limited end game
We will have a lot more options abilities wise, the more well learned we are about our fruit.(We picked fucking smart for a reason. We may as well stick to our strength. and not our weakness.)
We are already learning under the doctor.
Wood = harder than skin extra barrier when getting hit by a bullet or sword. So long as we are expecting to be hit, we can toughen our skin. Going to be punched? Produce a sharp branch where we will be hit. Bark skin baby
More stamina, as in, we can train longer. And recover faster. Not saying we can stay up all night, but we can just get fatty foods every time we dock, and use them for recovery when we are hurt. Ensuring we learn from our mistakes with all of our limbs given enough time to eat and recover.
Wood wood fruit = im sure has pretty good shipwright synergy. Or at least we can sense whats damage. And patch it up. Once we read a couple books about it
From the Doc we will surely be learning plants and such gaining a more intricate knowledge of them than the average person.
>>1947505
>Also poison and disease...and yeah.
I feel as though if anything we would be a little more resilient than normal people to these. Considering the wood wood fruit, no? if anything, at least a little bit initially. And even to fuck your proportions later on. Where if we get infected. We can block off sections of our body's blood and just chop it off and regrow it. Or even absorb healthy plants and wither away the dead and infected parts?
Well guys, I just wanted to put some positives we had seeing a few people shitting on it.
It isn't over powered. And takes more time to develop. But isn't that the character we wanted?

Usopp is a badass solely because he tries to fight above his powerlevel and sometimes comes out on top.

Now I haven't followed One Piece since Luffy Fought Cracker or whatever in that forest but unless Caesar pulled some totally badass moment out of his ass since then the dude is a coward, a smart one mind you, who lucked out into an OP power that could let him get away with a lot of shit. Apparently consensus was to get something to eat before socializing.

So you approach the giant roasting way and realized there was other food too. All skewered fruits and veggies usually also with meat hanging off them as well. All roasting by the bonfire. When you got something to eat you noticed two very strange looking new crew members. One was dressed somewhat like a cowboy but wore a long draping cloth on their face. Too long to be considered a bandana and it didn't circle the neck enough to be a scarf. The other had a similar 'mask' shrouding their face but they were dressed as a pirate used to cold weather. Another peculiar thing was the gloves they were wearing had strange markings on them and they wore bandoleers full of bullets and grenades.

Somehow they were eating by sliding the skewer underneath their excessively long 'bandana' without having to lift or move it. Unlike the rest of the rowdy crew they were far more laidback and quiet. To the point they reminded you of Doctor Sicko(who lost their medical license technically). However from the looks of it they both had quite the appetite if the pile of empty skewers next to them were anything to go by.

You ended up asking one of the pirates who they were and according to them they were some special sharpshooters Doctor Sicko managed to somehow recruit. Apparently one of them was very sick to the point of dying and the other was panicked enough to hold doctors hostage at gun point in the attempt to cure them. They all failed except for Doctor Sicko. As thanks they swore to join the crew because they were too broke to pay for the medical care.

As for why they were considered special sharpshooters. Apparently they know several different schools of gun arts. According to the new recruits those two were the best gunners out of everyone the pirates zombies managed to recruit here. Mostly according to them because 'those two teamwork is complete bullshit'.

Meanwhile nearby Doctor Sicko won an arm wrestling contest with ease and grabbed a huge pile of money because only they bet they would win. Much to sorrow of the gambling crew. A giant was drinking with the pirates who were trying to talk him into dancing or singing. Preferably both. Captain was asking for Zane's advise for the best places to acquire merchandise. First Mate meanwhile was nursing his arm and muttering about something under his breath.

You meanwhile were munching on some skewers while considering what you should do next

Asians are weird.

Wood=Plant. Somehow plants are considered some kind of element of their own despite not being alive. They also consider Earth and Metal its own thing and Air isn't considered an element. So another way to read the Wood Wood Devil Fruit is Plant Plant Devil Fruit.

Due to it being considered an element is why its technically a Logia just a very bizarre one.

I don't know about the rest of you but unless the unidentified fruit the captain has is much better, I'm all for the wood wood/plant plant devil fruit. The various applications and benefits far outweigh the setbacks as far as I'm concerned, it's shitty in the beginning but a monster late game which I'm all for, and being that our character is a smart kid that enjoys reading and absorbing information when a fruit that initially requires him to experiment heavily in order to learn how to be effective in battle fits much better for his character than a straight forward fruit that requires you to have the mindset of a shounen mc to use. It has more potential to make him a terrifying fighter.
>>
Seems like consensus is to socialize with the zombie crew.

There were plenty of zombies to socialize with. Sure they look creepy, have absurd amount of strength and toughness. They are still people too! So you chat with them. The zombies who noticed have now broken up into two distinct groups. The Brawlers who get in close and the Gunners whose guns have been modified to be...much larger. Resulting in MUCH greater recoil but they hit a LOT harder. Many of the newly recruited gunner crew have already converted themselves into zombies for precisely that reason. Not to mention being harder to kill and not as vulnerable in melee.

Chatting with them you find out some interesting things. First the zombies DO have a weakness. In this case sea water can suppress their 'zombie' selves. Greatly weakening them to the point of being ordinary humans again. However its not like salt water can kill them like it can for a proper devil fruit user. The right kind of medicines however can not only cripple them but even kill them.

Sadly zombies can still die. They can just take a much greater beating then an ordinary human before they croak for good. However if they say get their head cut of they are just as dead as if the same happened to a normal human. Unless you weaken them with salt water before hand which cripples them. The right kind of meds can outright kill a zombie.

However as a zombie you asked around and discover ever since they been converted they have never once gotten sick. Poison doesn't work on them as good as it used to. Their half dead nature slowing it down and further dampening the effects.

The zombies seem intent on partying through the night. The rare times when they rest its more alike being actually dead then proper sleep and they can do it just about anywhere. Which would explain all the weird fucking places you kept on finding those 'dead' zombies laying around. Somehow though the First Mate has never needed to rest or so they swear. Apparently a zombie can go many days or even weeks before needing to 'sleep'. When they do sleep however they tend to be KOed for days even weeks at a time. Especially if they are wounded or its been a very long time since they last rested.

Honestly you can't make much sense of their 'condition'. Which is apparently caused by Doctor Sicko. Particularly when someone is beyond 'normal' medical help. Getting turned into a zombie can suppress otherwise deadly diseases and buy precious time for recovery if the wounds would normally be too lethal.

Many of the zombies you found out had laid dying in a hospice or a battlefield before Doctor Sicko came to save them. The rest were actual 'volunteers'.

Snake kid is busy eating an absurd amount of foot because snake gut.

Zombies don't really need to rest that much. So your ship has a lot more crew then you would expect. Then again there are now an awfully large amount of pirates...

Well if he's into that he certainly has the tongue for it .

So we have a fairly large and strong crew, we should go looking for a marine base or just well to do island to ransack.

Many of those zombies were naturally in very deep debt to Doctor Sicko for saving their lives. Some of them you were shocked to find out were even former Marines. Doctor Sicko didn't judge when it came to treating patients. Sicko would even remove the Zombie affliction afterwards if you asked. Which was particularly common during the hospital trips where Sicko would do so in order to buy the patients additional time.

The former marine zombies heavily hinted towards the reason why Doctor Sicko's bounty isn't super high despite their dangerous gift is due to the help of former zombies and current marines who happened to have their lives saved by Doctor Sicko. They did their best to repay Doctor Sicko however they could. Other Marines like them meanwhile decided to follow after Doctor Sicko and keep him safe. Even if it meant turning their backs on the Marines and becoming pirates.

Which made you bring up why they followed the Captain.

According to them Doctor Sicko isn't exactly the leadership type and the Captain was the first fellow Devil Fruit user Sicko ran into who also had great problems controlling their power. Just the same as them and apparently the Captain saved Sicko's life and the lives of many civilians. Through sneaking past the barricade and fighting his way out. This was back before the creation of the first zombie.

After that the two of them were on the run together ever since.

According to them that's why Sicko is always in that suit and mask. Just in case Doctor Sicko trapped themselves in that suit and mask in order to protect others...from themselves. The suit and mask were carefully made by the Captain personally with Sicko's help and then coated had parts of it sprinkled inside with crushed sea stone.

Which prevented Sicko unlike other devil fruit users from ignoring his outfit in terms of his power usage. Sadly this also meant that Sicko is imprisoned inside the suit.

Meaning the suit in a matter of speaking is a luxurious mobile sea stone prison.

None of the zombie pirates apparently have ever seen what Doctor Sicko actually looks like. Only the Captain has ever seen their true face.

Apparently very well indeed.

You decide to do some target practice. Given how an artillery range is right there and the crew now has a bunch of gunners who can give you pointers.

Plus you actually have a good gun! One that didn't even blow up in your hand!

The crew sure enough pointed out how you could do better and even showed you. So the practice went very well and you had much better aim then you thought. Then again its not like someone is up in your face about to beat the crap out of you.

but hey at least your making some progress. By now the night was late and you realized it was time to find somewhere to sleep. Luckily you still had enough money to afford an inn and thus an actual bed. Damned zombies just laying about anywhere like its all perfectly comfortable.

The next day when you got up you noticed the giant was snoring very loudly. Along with a bunch of zombies laying everywhere as if they were dead bodies. Not even twitching. Even from all the way here you could hear the snoring of the giant. The rest however you aren't sure where they went. You don't exactly see the Zane's giant pack.

More training seems to be the consensus.

You do exercises with your body and job your way to the range to build up stamina. There you start practicing the stuff you learned about last night.

Eventually the First Mate shows up and starts kicking sleeping zombie asses for some reason. Stating that there was work to do. After beating all the zombies back into consciousness(a surprisingly difficult feat given how hard they sleep). He makes is way over to you and notices your practice.

You could practically see the gears in his end churning as he tries to figure out what to do with you before suddenly his eyes light up as he grabs you.

"Alright Three Eyes we are gonna train. Thanks to Zane we found out about the best places to buy guns. Your gonna help us carry all that heavy shit back to the ship."

...Fuck.

"After that we got a job to do but given how weak you are you'll just get in the way. So instead you get to stay at the ship and keep on training."

That was how you were forced to hike all over the island. Helping carry heavy packs full of guns and ammo all the way back to the ship. Over and over again.

Building up your strength and stamina...as well as completely exhausting you. At one point the one of the zombies had to pick you and your burden up because you collapsed. After that you were left at the ship.

Gasping for breath and muscles were trembling. Hell even your bones hurt and it wasn't even tomorrow yet.

There aren't any books on the ship about aiming. You could probably buy some here though if you find the bookstore.

Most of the books on the ship are about medicine, engineering, navigation, and tactics.

Huh, okay so we are just wildly diverging from the canon setting huh? Because we've literally never seen seastone bullets and it's noted as being both very rare and expensive, and also very difficult to smith.

For future reference so we know what to expect, should we just abandon all assumptions that line up with canon and just roll with it? I assumed that since canon fruits were nonavailable that this was happening at around the same time as events in the manga but apparently that's not the case?

You cannot resist finding the devil fruit book to see what kind of devil fruit you have in your possession. So despite your muscles screaming in agony you make your way to the Captain's Cabin. Which once you open the door reveals a huge mess.

Blueprints, scrunched up papers, pencils, broken bits of machinery are everywhere. You also found the books. Several book shelves full of books like 'Mechanics for Beginners'. 'Idiot's guide to Machinery'. Digging around you find that devil fruit book and pull it out before leaving the captain's cabin. After doing so you start flipping through it trying to find your fruit.

You had to go nearly through the entire book before you find it.

Wood Wood Logia typed devil fruit.

Allows the body to be turned into plants. Extremely strange Logia fruit. Weak defenses, but unusually resistant to Haiki. Moderate offensive ability nothing special in terms of devil fruits, weak however by Logia type devil fruit standards. Very Difficult to use. True capability Unknown. Potential GREAT. Difficulty to Master EXTREME.

Very few people have ever successfully brought out the true power of the Wood Wood type devil fruit. Fewer still have a good understanding of its real potential and ability.

Last known legendary figure who used the Wood Wood Devil Fruit was the Overgrown Scourge. Reputed to strip entire islands bare of life with ease. Who was only slain after the join assault of several Admirals, many Vice Admirals, and repeated Buster Calls. Rumored that even the Head of the Marines himself had to participate this was however unconfirmed. Casualties were confirmed to have been very high however.

Initial danger assessment. Low.

Danger assessment after Mastery. EXTREMELY HIGH! Comparable to Mythics and other top class devil fruits.

Value of Devil Fruit. Low. Despite being Logia type is bottom barrel for logia average pricing.

Also for those who don't know what a logia type devil fruit is, may help give people ideas on good applications for our new powers.

The rarest of the three Devil Fruit types, Logia-type Devil Fruits offer their users the ability to transform themselves into an element, whether it be solid elements like ice or sand, liquids like mud or syrup, gases like fire, smoke and poison gas, energy like lightning, or into a materialization of abstract concepts such as darkness. This can effectively make them intangible, making physical attacks harmlessly go through them, or allow them to be able to absorb the attack completely. They also gain every ability related to that element (such as in the case of sand where moisture can be absorbed or lightning where the user can travel through objects like electricity does) and gain the skill to disperse, control, and rejoin any part of their bodies while conscious and in control of their powers (including explosions, bullet wounds or cuts). Logia users can move every part of their transformed bodies while in element form.

>>
>>1949480
That's also a really good idea. The our three eyed tribe potential to learn the VAT and with our logia being the only type use living organisms, combining them would make us terrifying. Man, this character ended up with the potential to be really fucking powerful and we weren't even trying to do all this on purpose.

>>

>>

This is pretty fucking awesome.
We should start planting poisonous plants and test out our control over plants and our own body.

We should also look up legendary trees and plan to and see if we can track some down.
>>
>>1949537
Controlling other stuff of the element would be a paramecia power, logias are really just made of their element and can shape the element their body produces. So unless we can go full hive body by making seeds and planting them we'll be stuck as single plant guy body even if that body can get huge and extend over a wide area (like the pando forest). Now if we had a tree style paramecia like flamingo has for strings that'd be another story

I just wish we were a tree manipulating paramecia
>>
>>1949537
thats what i was thinking, we should start a garden or something, maybe talk to the captain about letting us have a small section for it?
>>
>>1949537
Learning botany, poisons, and anatomy seem like the beginning. learning to compare and contrast the various types of trees could allow us to compare and contrast their properties such as density, bark strength, etc. and use that to improve our own capabilities. Doc is probably the first guy to go to on this stuff.
>>
>>1949568
Wood clones?
>>
>>1949568
wait addendum

afaik environmental logias can manipulate their element but only by causing it to do things it could do on it's own like Enel can cause lightning strikes and crocodile can cause sandstorms. So I guess if we fall under that umbrella we can make trees grow.
>>
>>1949625
I think the only way we could have to control to a greater degree plants or trees would be to root ourself and use the plants as extensions of our own body. We would be the heart of a big tree

Anon...your plants are alive and ARE you.

It would fucking hurt like hell and too much damage would kill you or put you into shock. Not to mention it costs nutrients and fluids to regenerate. Meaning its also quite possible you starve to death in the attempt of trying to heal yourself past your limits. You drop dead from exhaustion and the wounds.

Its the 'alive' part which allows you to laugh at Haki because all Haki does is make it possible to touch the living person beneath.

>>1949149
salt water would disrupt your devil fruit power like any other devil fruit.

>>1949183
sea water would disrupt your devil fruit power. Technically its possible to transform into but it doesn't magically remove your weakness to sea water. So its pointless.

>>1949187
Wood Wood fruit is a severely flawed and very strange Logia but in exchange Haki is something you can laugh your ass off at among other tricky effects. On the other hand unlike any other Logia fruit getting hit fucking hurts. Even if you can boost your natural defenses and regen.

Plus fire, lightning, and frost is straight up nightmare fuel for you.

>>1949568
Awakening the Wood Wood fruit one of the effects will enable you to control plants that aren't part of your body. Problem is doing so makes you vulnerable to Haki.

Your thinking too small anon. Your a Plant Plant person. Why do you have to be able to control plants when you ARE the plants! Otherwise Haki will make you its bitch.

Plus other tricks but that would be a spoiler.

Like I said anon YOU ARE THE PLANTS!

So why are you anons thinking of controlling plants...WHEN body=Plant. You don't even need to hijack plants because hahah you already are plants!

You're a Plant Human now.

That is what makes the Wood Wood Devil Fruit Logia so powerful but at the same time has such serious drawbacks.

Your plants are alive. Your plants are you.

Your plants=Your body.

Meaning if you get hit IT HURTS YOU! If your plants get it IT WILL WOUND YOU TOO!

You can't just ignore blows like any other logia.

On the plus side for that PRECISE reason when someone tries to use Haki. You get to laugh at them very very hard.

I'm just talking from in setting showings of powers, we are basically just a paramecia that can also turn their body into wood. Being made of the element has only ever let characters produce simple shapes with it (like making a sword of light) or making the element do what it is capable of doing normally.

The way you are describing the power is more like the Warden's use of his Poison Paramecia minus also turning the body into wood and feeling pain through plants.
>>
Rolled 99 (1d100)

>>1949778
Doctor Sickos...his devil fruit power is complicated and there is a damn good reason why Doc imprisoned themselves in that suit of their own free will.

Doc's Devil fruit power is seriously fuck you level scary the like of which would make Caesar Clown piss himself in sheer terror and be put to utter shame.

Like I am talking straight up nightmare fuel level scary. Which is why you really REALLY don't wanna see what happens should Doctor Sicko get angry or actually fight seriously..and that is just would happen if they were still imprisoned inside the suit.

>>1949797
You would die...if the Ent in question was made of your Plants, because your Plants already have a devil fruit power.

Only Blackbeard's bullshit Yami Yami can stack devil fruit powers.

>>1949803
You don't have that problem of limited changing of shape because your now a plant person.

You're a fucking plant any plant so long as you can control your power good enough. Technically if you really wanted to fuck with people hard you could convince them you were just a paramecia fruit user by 'puppet playing' your plants to look like they aren't actually part of you.

Only flaw with that is when your plants get damaged you also get hurt too...because sadly your plants are alive and they are you.

That ability to laugh at Haki doesn't come without a steep price to pay.

This doesn't mean you can't influence other plants you just can't directly control them as if they were your own body...because they are now you.
>>
>>1949790
>So why are you anons thinking of controlling plants...WHEN body=Plant. You don't even need to hijack plants because hahah you already are plants!
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm still kind of confused how this is logia. It sounds like it would make more sense if this was paramecia.

Crocodile doesn't take damage when you punch his sand. It doesn't really make sense to me is all. I'm having difficulty coming up with ideas and understanding the power.
>>
>>1949843
that 99....and fuck, hear i was hoping we could find someway to make an ent, with some science bullshitery and take control of it
>>
>>1949853
he didn't say no to it, he simply said it can't eat devil fruits, also it would probably be hilariously shitty in saltwater.
>>
>>1949843
So the point would be say. Get into a fight, control several plants to start absorbing water/sun/nutrients. And we have endless life. so long as damage doesn't surpass our defenses+ absorption.
We need to find seeds of plants that fucking are amazing at taking nutrients from its surrounding. Also we will be doing a lot of cannibalism.
>>
>>1949843
my argument isn't that you are explaining the power badly, my argument is that you don't understand how logia powers work. Manipulating something beyond very simple levels (we might be able to grow plants quickly to imprison people by having it grow around them or destroy stuff by having the roots grow through the object) falls under paramecia powers.
>>
>>1949853
My friend, we just need to do a lot of research. We will be working on poisons and fighting with our powers for now. But sooner rather than later. We will be buying a shit ton of plant books. And learn what we're capable of.
Also Every time we land and we see a forest, we root our selves in search of new plants and such.
>>
>>1949860
are we essentially immortal as long as we dont get killed?
>>
>>1949867
fuck yeah dude! we need to definitely use that big brain of ours and get those books and study
>>
>>1949870
as long as we are rooted too.
also how far does the wood logia choices extend too, does it include shit like mushrooms?
>>
>>1949860
I also like the idea of learning to create mist like spore clouds we can control, taking a book from guys like doc sicko and crocodile and choking out/blinding/constricting/poisoning the enemy. Plus mushroom tissue to work alongside bark armor and act as a shock absorber for damage, maybe even mushroom cap shields layered with wood for max defence.
>>
>>1949843
so, op will you keep running today?
>>
>>1949077
>>1949080
You can feel the wood in a different fashion. Not enough to repair but...you feel as if you understand it. Like there is some kind of kinship there. Like instead of a ship it was dead body of a real person.

It's a very strange feeling.

Your attempts to make yourself 'grow' results in you literally growing. Suddenly you find yourself taller and now far more hungry. Like holy crap your starving.

So much so you disappeared and sorta ate all the zombie rations...honestly you have no idea how the hell they are live off that stuff. Its not as terrible tasting as devil fruit but goddamn your taste buds must of died to eat that stuff every day.

You do admit that its strangely filling and satisfying.

Now how to explain how you suddenly grew taller...in less then a single day.

You ended up leaving the ship and trying to dig your feet into the soil. At first you felt nothing but a strange tickling sensation...but then you felt there was something inside the soil.

Food.

...which didn't make any sense. Yet it was an oddly similar sensation you got with the sun and water. Except more like food.

>>1949866
Caesar Clowns Gas Gas fruit.

Crocodile Sand Sand Fruit.

Asian concept of elements.

That admiral's Magma Magma fruit.

Another Admiral's Ice Ice fruit.

By your logic all three of those devil fruits should be impossible. Especially the Gas Gas Fruit because its manipulation of gases isn't 'simple'. All those elements(except for the Gas Gas fruit) have a very much physical presence.

I had to think hard of how a Wood Wood Element fruit would work and I read over the Devil fruit entries very carefully on the wiki. As I considered where it would fit.

Ultimately I realized based upon the Asian styled elements and that only thing special about wood wood fruit is the material that which your manipulating is alive. Its why you can shrug off Haki but getting hit actually fucking hurts despite being a Logia. I was going to make it a Paramecia but the Asian idea of elements forced me to change it and enforced the limitation. Of only being able to manipulate your body which I found to be more balanced then a Paramecia version I had considered. Unless I limited it to strictly wood only.

It's also why its alive that you can force it to change into different kinds of plants. The other Logias don't have that. Caesar gets sorta close but that's because he's a genius scientist with the know how to manipulate his devil fruit power in extremely effective manner compared to someone else in his place with the same power.

but hey if your still disatisifed this is a fan fiction quest. While I try to be true to source material I am obviously going to make mistakes. Why else would I choose the 2 decades before Luffy shows up to play around in? Not much happens until Luffy starts to fuck everything.

I figured by then the players are probably gonna be strong enough to survive, watch the show, and laugh.

Nevermind at this point I'm not gonna argue this anymore since you seem to be set in stone on this, I just argue against logias being able to do complex things with their body because really they just tend to make basic shapes or release the element from their body. also if you are going by chinese elements Mr. 1 is made of metal and he's a paramecia that is just capable of personal modifications

It took over an hour but finally you figured out how to...recede to yourself and pull your feet out of the ground. Next time your wearing shoes to keep this from happening until you get used to it. As you were about to climb back onto the ship strangely refreshed you notice two zombies were staring down at you...possibly the entire time. You were bit occupied earlier to notice.

"..."

"Hey...hey Greg...Greg."

"Yeah...what," says Greg the zombie after finishing staring at his bottle.

"Did the Three Eyed Kid always have green skin?"

"..." Greg slowly turned his head towards his partner before speaking. "I thought that was the booze talking again."

"Ooh...yeah you might be right I suppose but I could of sworn that was the whole roots for feet was the booze talking instead."

"...Yeah I can see your point like...man but...but what if. Like...what if. It was BOTH the booze."

"...I think we drank too much buddy."

"Psht...howz...how can we drink too...too much? We are frigging zombies."

"Yeah but...remember that giant bottle of booze and...and the rotgut? That shit was...wasn't no ordinary shit man. I mean...fucking hell we are STILL messed up from last night. Like...so fucking messed up we just saw a three eyed kid talk to a ship like he was some kind of wood whisperer, plant himself into the ground like a plant, and his fucking skin was green. I mean...come on man what else could it be?"

"..." Greg merely nodded his head apparently not all there still. "Maybe...maybe he ate the devil fruit the Captain couldn't identify."

"Ooh great idea Greg lets go check. I swear if its the fucking booze we HAVE to keep that giant around," says the other zombie after getting up and stumbling deeper into the ship.

Greg meanwhile looked at his buddy and then back at his bottle before taking a long swig spoke "Yeah...you go do that...I am...gonna...like keep an eye out on the kid."

"Oh yeah I suppose that's a good idea too. Be careful though Greg he might just be like... a figment of our imagination," he stresses that last part and that was the last you heard of him.

Josh after that took one long look at you before staring at his bottle after another long swig then promptly fell off the barrel he was laying on and laid there unmoving. Bottle tightly clasped in his hand.

Shortly after you heard the other zombie shout out from deep within the ship. "GREG THE DEVIL FRUITS ARE STILL HERE! Must be the booze then...I want more of that bloody booze. Damn...now to find where the booze stash is."

You meanwhile were trying figure out how you were gonna change your skin back to normal, but its not like you had the obvious root foot thing to go off of. Devil fruit powers is hard. No wonder the Captain and Sicko had such problems with it.

You soon realize that Doc is smart. Doc should be able to help you out. only problem is you don't know where Doc is.

Fortunately all you had to do was find a sleeping zombie beat him until he woke up and ask. According to the now awake zombie if the Doc was finish with his usual trip then he should be at the ship. If he wasn't chances are he was out somewhere with some bodyguards.

You don't recall seeing Doctor Sicko around the ship. Which means he is out somewhere. Which meant you needed to find him. Thus you headed to town to ask around. Fortunately Doctor Sicko was a rather obvious fellow. Soon you got word of where he went. Another island apparently doctor Sicko thinks its fun visiting all the freaking islands.

You naturally chased after. Heading to the island where he went. You soon realized you were catching up when you encountered a bunch of very badly beaten bandits who thought it a good idea to pick a fight with a bear for a 1vs1 match. Except all the bandits looked that way.

Heading further in you saw another town and a small group of clearly very bored looking zombie pirates who were standing around bored of their minds. You naturally walked up to them and asked where doc was.

The zombie pirates who were now staring at you in shock. One of them finally uttered "Visiting patients."

You got stuck waiting with the bored bodyguards until Doc came out. Doc for his part was...Doc. See impossible to see what he's thinking because of that damned mask. Doc after exiting the house stared at you for a bit or at least it felt like that. When he suddenly he walked up to you pinched your cheek for seemingly no reason and then spoke.

"Not a prank then...and since your here to find the Doctor what ails you Three Eyes?"

"...I uh...sorta ate a devil fruit. That I found and no it wasn't the Captain's.'

"Which kind."

"Wood Wood Devil Fruit."

"Ah that one....now that is a complex problem. Some insist its a paramecia others insist its a Logia. That was not a good fruit you ate. Turns you into a Plant Person which would explain the green skin."

"What the hell do you mean by not good? The book said its powerful! Just has some drawbacks is all..."

"Severe drawbacks. Plants become Body. Body cannot control plants that isn't part of body. Can morph into more plants. Like a vegetarian cancer."

"Normally Devil Fruit does not give power of other living thing unless Zoan. Wood fruit is exception. Turns you into Wood Element. A peculiar living element."

"Has many weaknesses. More weaknesses then strengths. Most importantly is very complex. Makes usage of devil power very difficult."

"But its powerful yeah?"

"...Power is useless if you do not know how to proper utilize it. That is Wood Wood Devil Fruit in a nutshell. Pun intended. Very rare for Logia users to know to not brute force their gift. Rarer still to have such a very...complicated Devil Fruit power."

"Yet in a way you are lucky."

"Yes. You are young. You have time to study what needs to be studied first in order to fully utilize your power. You have time to practice and understand your power. Most importantly...your power isn't by its very nature dangerous to yourself or others."

"Captain also has complicated devil fruit power. He was not young like you. Now has to study for his power cannot be brute forced in order to be most effective. Has to be smart about it."

"I too have complicated devil fruit power. I however was also not lucky. Even less lucky then Captain. Its why I am sealed inside this suit."

"For your power however...first you must understand plants. Then you may understand your power. If you do not understand plants how can you use your power properly? Alas while I know a bit about plants I am no botanist. To understand your power you need to be a botanist. Without being a Botanist you have no hope of mastering it."

"What about how to control my power so I don't...accidentally use it?"

"If you are not under duress control is easy. However...what if your under duress? You will instinctively call upon it. Stopping that reaction is not nearly so easy."

"What happens to the Captain when that happens?"

"He turns into a giant robot. Well in a matter of speaking anyway. He still hasn't figured out how to turn his body into Machine yet."

"And you?"

"That is the reason why I wear this suit for. If I lose control...suit is to keep it contained. However if you get like that and cannot control your powers. You will not only be a threat to yourself but to others as well. Controlling yourself when everything is fine is one thing, but that isn't :the real problem now is it?"

"At the moment I'll just be happy if my skin stops being green."

"I am gonna need a large black bag," says Doctor Sicko to a bodyguard. After getting the bag he abruptly threw you inside it and dragged you into a nearby building. Afterwards he dropped you out of it and before you had a chance to retort he pointed at your arm and said "Fixed."

Looking at your arm your skin had indeed turned back to normal.

"H-how the hell did you just do that?" You couldn't help but ask.

"Simple. Green skin is for you to feed off the sun's energy. No sun. No green skin."

"...So wait it has to be dark out for me to NOT turn green?"

"Recall the sensation you had when you first ate the devil fruit after when you were in the sun. Next remember what how the sensation changed when you entered the black bag. Those sensations hold the key to turning it on or off."

...Crap those sensations were very small but tingled all over. It wasn't like the dirt where you felt like you were eating. It was much smaller. Much finer. Yet strangely constant.

Damned riddles. To think this was only the start.

"To point out the obvious you should avoid things plants don't like. As in fire, frost, lightning, excessive water, too little water, salt, disease, in addition to the usual devil fruit weaknesses among others."

Maybe we should go look for some Botanic books
>>
>>1950655
Thats exactly what we should do, anon.
And some actual plants. carnivorous plants
>>
>>1950636
Damn, this smarty shit is very fun.
>>
>>1950662
Yeah, maybe even a tiny tree if we can find one. Could be useful for our study
>>
>>1950667
oh yeah, little bonsai trees. id like to get some fruits and vegetables too
>>
>>1950655
>>1950662
So botany books to study up on, various seeds from a store, and a bunch of the wild plants, trees, vines, and fungi to take samples of. These are all things we should to start off, while we're still on the island. Later on, learning chemistry/organic chemistry and herbology will help us learn how to make various mixtures, stuff like medicine, poisons, and explosives.

seems like a good plan

Yeah, thats a good plan. Im glad we're a smart character, thats gonna really pay off

"Ooh that is a lot of fucking weaknesses what are my strengths?"

"Your a plant."

"...No seriously."

"You can turn into infinite variety of plants. You can recover your strength with nothing but dirt, sun, and water. Once you gain some control of your power when your attacked you can reinforce yourself with plant armor. Can burrow through the ground. Even fly."

"How the hell can I fly?"

"Ever seen those seeds that fly through the sky?"

"Ooh...wow that is actually a pretty cool trick."

"Exactly. A trick. From...a single facet of plant life. How great is the variety of plant life? What 'tricks' do they know? Do they possess...once you understand you can turn those 'tricks' into your strength. That is the key."

"...Wow...I uh never really looked at it like that. No wonder you stressed botany so much."

"If you do not know the plants and their tricks...how can you hope to replicate them?"

Another thing you must watch out for is your plants are very much alive. If they are hurt then you too are wounded. You cannot treat your plants as disposable shields so easily. For you both are in fact One. That is why you are now called a Plant Man. Two have become One. Since what you have become One with is also a living thing...you are much more closely connected together then what a non zoan type devil fruit user would be familiar with. Zoans...if your beast form is hurt you too are hurt. For both sides are living and now both sides are now One."

"The same logic applies with you and your plants."

"But I'm not a Zoan type."

"No but both sides are Alive. Just like with a Zoan. Both are sides are also very much Alive."

"Is it possible I can control plants who aren't...well me?"

"If you could that would make you a Paramecia. Though I heard awakening a Logia can have...interesting effects. I cannot claim to be fully aware of what that means exactly. As for Paramecia...it allows them to change their environment or body and vice versa. For Zoans they become much stronger superior versions of their old selves. for a Logia however...I personally believe the line that separates from Self and World is broken. For the elements are all around us. A logia Devil fruit allows Self to become One with an Element. If one achieves Awakening...what changes? Can you became One with more then one element? Does the bond between Self and Outside World break? Does it allow for just as the element inserted to oneself from eating the devil fruit. That instead it allows you to insert yourself into the element?"

"Why do you think Logia can be awakened?"

"If Paramecia and Zoan can. Why not Logia? Regardless your devil fruit is not a simple one. Seems like nobody but the other new kid got lucky with that."

also this, we gotta hit them books fellas

Guys. The fact that the plants are our body totally means we can have a Forrest made entirely out of Haki. .

Also I found our botany resource.

their are some plants that dont even need fucking soil, they just dangle in the air and get a small bit of water and sun

the fact this is one piece means a lot of bull shit plants exist honestly but thats really cool now we just gotta learn haki
>>
>>1950832
In theory we are a living pop green
>>
>>1950832
I had no idea plants could be this insane.

Why are you all talking about irl plants?

pop green man
>>

we could legit flood entire seas with ricin, if we got good enough with our devil fruit powers
>>1950916
because ik fuck all about one piece plants im sure they're many levels of bullshit tho
>>
>>1950920
I'm saying that the islands pop greens were made on were giant carnivorous plants
>>
>>1950928
Oh sure, natrually explosive fruit bombs, super poisonus plants, trees as strong as iron, etc. Learning to use all these plant attributes is gonna be fun as hell.
>>
>>1950931
I know, I'm just adding that in canon there are some pretty interesting plants, starting from the whole boin archipelago with the carnivorous plants and pop greens

Oh yeah, as a bio/med major I can say people don't seem to understand the insane utility this power brings. There are millions of plants all over the world in extremely different environments.they've all evolved in their own unique traits in order to survive. Picture it, millions of mutations, traits, and enviornmental equilizers, and mc has potential access to them all.
>>
>>1950952
im just hyped about somehow getting to little garden. prehistoric plants
>>
>>1950963
not all simultaneously though and we don't know how long it takes to change forms. Ideal would be finding a few catch-all plants and ones that cover common weaknesses (like finding something on a volcano island and copying it's immunity to heat and fire)
>>
>>1950971
i was thinking about that too, like if we found a plant that thrived in snowy glacial climates and developed an armor out of it
>>
>>1950746
Go to the bookstore and get those botany books.
>>
can we seperate plants from our body? I'd imagine creating a plant would still make it our body, but could we somehow seperate that created plant so it's no longer part of us, but becomes its own living plant. basically can we create life?
>>

>Find some botany books

Wood fruit is gonna be great, playing smart is great but we don't need to forget that plants can be plenty tough in a brute force sense, especially if we get ahold of adam tree wood.

Let's not forget that some plants have tricks for surviving fires.
Like fire activated seed. And some tree have fire retardant barks. Some have moist cork like tissues to protect against desiccation
>>
>>1951217
And don't forget what shit like kudzu can do
>>
>>1951217
I am no botanist or biologist. I am a simple physicist. Can someone explain why is lightning dangerous to us? Simply when struck by lightning, the current searches for the shortest path to ground. So technically, we should be able to shorten it just at the outside of the bark and literally go unhurt.
Sorry for my English and bad physics skills.
>>
>>1951348
lightening scorches the hell out of grass
>>
>>1951348
same reason fire does, because fiction makes people think it does despite the fact it's actually very difficult to try to burn a perfectly healthy, living tree. As a simple biology major, In my novice opinion, I would have to say "magic fruit don't worry about it"
>>
>>1951348
Probably because of resistances.
Wood should be more resistant than nominal flesh, and since we are now basically made out of it that should translate over.

Instead of stopping our heart itll just find our body resistant, generate heat and then burst the plant like cells like popcorn kernels.

Think lightning stripping the bark off a tree as opposed to people whove walked away from such.

Though that could just be a load of crap on my end - Biochemistry graduate.
>>
>>1951348
lightning classically is drawn to tall shit, such as trees.
some of the shit we could do could make us a lightning magnet, apparently that translates it to weakness for us since fucking nothing plantwise can do shit all against lighting, in fact plants have more resistance to fire and frost then lightning.
>>
>>1951372
We have a good amount of biologists here. Damn we picked a good fruit.
>>
Im surprised nobody has mentioned the jewel tree adam. Strongest wood in all of one piece.
>>
>>1954558
That shit is expensive. Be great to get some of it tho
>>
>>1954581
Expensive or not, if we can just get a small sample then we'll be golden.
>>
>>1954847
oh i agree completely, i was just looking it up and that stuffs worth more than our life at the moment lol
>>
>>1954890
How rare is it? Is it something that would even be in more than one book?
>>
>>1955001
>jewel tree adam.
It's worth 200,000,000 "Beri" its the same wood gold roger and luffy's ships are made of, shit can shrug off cannonballs like their nothing.
