General Rules

15 min voting period after each main post. Write-ins votes are welcomed/encouraged. Votes that are non-contradictory and add to the narrative will be considered. Think 'Rule of Cool'

Combat mechanics/skill test will be done using best 3 out of 5 rolls of 1d100, unless otherwise specified. Modifiers may come into play depending on the MC's statistics which can improve odds and vice versa as the QM sees fit. The QM will do their best to inform players of when such modifiers will come up during votes. (Example: Aim at a target at long range with a scattershot weapon will require a higher roll to make a successful hit than a normal blaster weapon).

Training with other bots and successful missions can add to your overall abilities. Strong character relationships with your comrades can also benefit the MC as it will improve battle synergy and moral (less likely to want to fall back/retreat). Of course the vice versa can come into play as well. A failed mission may have consequences but result in unforeseen outcomes (In the show, Tarantulus, Blackarachnia, & Quickstrike were supposed to secure an energon post. The Maximals interfered, resulting in the loss of the post BUT Tarantulus gained a new lair.). A Predacon can always sabotage missions to make other bots look incompetent as well, just hope you’re persuasive enough to do so and watch out for those

Also keep an eye out at your energon build up levels; too much time in robot mode outside of a structure, such as a base can cause negative impacts on your combat maneuvers/skill test, including potential loss of spark. In the event of loss of spark, pending the results of a vote, a time lapse in the narrative will happen and a new stasis pod will fall. (Roll for new character or with a high relation level, a blank protoform will descend and your allies will reignite your spark)

>Call him over, maybe the kid can give you a hand

You figure with Cheetor out here, it wouldnt hurt to have him assist you with moving these containers.

"Hey kid."

"Oh hey big cat. What's the haps?" he turns towards your position, heading your way.

"Found some stuff in the jungle while taking a stroll. Wanna give me a hand?"

Cheetor starts looking over the box. "Whoa ultra gear. Nice find Warpath. What's inside it?"

"Energon cubes. Stable as well."

The kid looks over the box. "Huh, wonder what they were doing out here?"

"Found them in that area where I encountered Tarantulas. Figured he wasn't going to be needing them."

Cheetor chuckles. "Yea, doubt they'll be of much help to him in the scrap yard. Sure, I'll give you a hand. You were bringing these back to the base right?"

Well...

>"Yeah, sure. Why not?" Take the energon cube to the Maximal base
>"I was taking them back to my outpost actually. Might have a use for them." Persuade him to take them back to your out post

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" Take the Energon cubes to the Maximal base

"Sure, I've got some stuff to take care of back there anyhow."

"Great. I'll call ahead."

You have to admit you feel conflicted about this decision. You had been debating talking to Primal about what you've been doing off the gird, but always concerned how this would affect the deal you had going with Blackarachnia. This could complicate that deal especially since you were planning on meeting with her. Additionally it made you wonder about how the Maximals would take it. You know Rhinox is suspicious of you but judging from the rest you figured he kept his suspicions to himself.

"Hey Warpath, you've been pretty quiet. Everything alright? I mean, you're usually quiet but just seems more so. You've been a bit more friendly the last few times you've passed by."

"Yea I'm good."

"Oh and great job on getting to Tonguelasher. We were worried when Airazor reported having to withdraw from getting attacked."

Geez kid you sure know how to lay it on thick. "Yeah, just glad he made up his own mind on what he wanted."

Cheetor cocked his head. "What do you mean? He's one of us, just like you. We wouldn't let him fall into the hands of the Preds."

Sounds like Primal and the rest game him the usual sales pitch. Figures, but considering the fickle natures of Terrorsaur and Waspinator you can see why it was the more appealing.

You and the kid take abit more about the current situation of the conflict. The mood of the rest of the Maximals, with the current status quo. It appears they're content with the way things are going, the Predacons being on the defensive makes it easier for them to explore the planet and secure energon deposits. But it seems they're conflicted on what to mainly focus on. One group, presumably lead by Optimus, seems to favor getting the Axalon repaired and leaving the planet, pick up the stasis pods from orbit and find their way back to cybertron. The others feel they should deal with the Predacons first and foremost. You can only imagine that its Dinobot championing that cause.

Cheetor turns to you and ask

"What do you think about it?"

>Taking the fight to the Predacons is best

"Ya never run from a fight kid, walk away from one sure, but never run."

Cheetor considers your words. "Yea, I had a feeling you'd say something like that. Dinobot will be pleased to hear that."

"Where do you stand on the subject kid?"

"Well I'm with Big bot. I mean, dont get me wrong. Shred some Pred? Yea sounds like a good time, but when I signed up for this mission like the rest, we were supposed to be exploring the galaxy. Honestly if we manage to get off this planet, we could get back to Cybertron and get back to that mission. Well after some R & R at least."

"And what of the Predacons? You intend to let them stick around here and do as they please?"

The spotted cat shrugs, "Well without a working ship, what could they do?"

"Well they were searching for energon right? What seems to be in abundance on this planet?"

"Energon, but its mostly unstable."

"True, but what if they manage to stabilize it and gather as much as they need?"

Cheetor looks like he's thinking about it. You're surprised to seem him so serious.

"Well for now, lets just get this container back to the Axalon."

"Listen kid, you can't always just sit back and have the rest make decisions for you. If you agree and feel that the Predacons are dangerous and too much of a risk to leave be, then you need to make your voice be heard."

He looks at you with great intent almost with some of that hero worship that he holds for Optimus. You definately think you've had an influence on his thoughts on the matter.

You guys approach the Maximal ship, and board it. As you go inside, you notice most of the usual maximals are here at work.

Rattrap is the first to turn around. "Hey Spots, what are you and Fangs doing here? You're supposed to be on patrol."

Cheetor transforms, "Hey Rattrap. Dont worry, I'll head on back out in a parsect but i wanted to help Warpath bring this back." He points to the container with the Predacon insidgina on it.

Rhinox approaches the container. "And what exactly did Warpath find?" You cant help but detect a hint of snark in his voice.

"Energon cubes."

"And were exactly did you aquire these?"

We're smart enough to know that Blackarachnia's not going to go for our whole "third party".

We need to come clean with the Maximals, and fully join their ranks.

Build up our own allies within the Maximals...Dinobot, Airazor, Cheetor....

Become the militant arm of the Maximals and convince Optimus to let us have full run of military operations while he does the admin stuff.

"Snark doesnt suit you Rhinox."

He crosses his arms with a bit of a low sigh and shakes his head. He looks like he's about to say something more but the whoosh of an opening door stops him.

"Whats going on in here? Cheetor? Warpath? What are you doing here?" Optimus Primal walks in.

"Energon cubes. That say, Primal. We need to talk."

Optimus' expression shifts. "Very well, this way." He gestures to his quarters. "Cheetor get back on patrol. Keep an eye on that area."

"Actually I wouldnt mind the kid sitting in on the conversation."

Cheetor and Optimus look at each other for a brief moment before turning back to you.

"I need him on reconassiance duty. I can fill him in later if what you have to discuss pertans to him."

Cheetor nods. "Its cool Warpath. I just wanted to help you out, but Big bots right. I have my responsiblities."

"Hey kid, keep an eye out for spider's out there."

Cheetor gives you a questioning look, but just gives you a thumbs up. "You got it Warpath."

You turn to walk inside Primal's ready room.

"An oddly specific warning..." He says.

"Just looking out for him. The last one got the drop on him remember?"

Optimus rubs his chin. "Yes, I see." He closes the door and walks behind his desk.

"Before we get started I've got a few things to say to you..." Optimus says.

>I've been working with Blackarachnia in a partnership to undermine the Predacons and attempt to create a third, independent group. The intent was to give all new bots the choice to follow you, megatron, or join me. My goal was free will. Now, before you say anything, that WAS my goal. I had thought that Blackarachnia was with me on that, but I have seen that she is just like Megatron, ready to force bots onto her side rather than give them a choice. That's why I'm here, now, coming clean with you, Prime. My way of doing things, my way of thinking...it won't work. There is no way to make it viable. This war, despite my instincts, despite my deeply held belief that all bots should be free to choose which side, if any, they fight on, is too big, too well entrenched to allow that freedom of choice. And while I do not like influencing a bot to choose a side in this war, having them choose the Maximals over the Predacons is the better choice. So I am here to pledge my support....and my loyalty to you and the Maximals, Prime. You may not have beaten me in battle, but you have beaten me in the war, so to speak. I have found Tarantula's new lair. And I looted it. Cheetor already helped bring in stable energon cubes. I have brought old cybertronian tech as well, including stuff that could be used to reprogram Maximals. There's a broken CR chamber as well that could be repaired and placed at a forward base for emergencies for the scouts. I know your trust has been broken, and I am willing to work to regain it, if it can be. If not, then know that despite me not being a Maximal anymore if you see fit, I will still be taking the fight to the Predacons, and if you need my assistance, all you need do is ask.

Well, the write-in does include telling Prime about the alliance with Blackarachnia...
>>
>>1957070
That seems a bit to big a speech
>>
>>1957106

It could be, but it explains our reasons. And that's the important part.

We're also out-winding Prime....keeping up with our competition with him
>>
>>1957070
While third faction may not be viable, the fact that we're trying to turn Black Arachnia is. She was a Maximal Protoform at one point, and us pitying the fact that she never had a choice in the matter and was forcefully turned Predacon most likely drives our desire to fix that.
As well, we don't need to kneel. We have a fairly good arrangement with the Maximals as a forward scout, the only things that have caused problems with us was keeping secrets and being a dick about it.
Besides, Optimus isn't dumb, he will most likely realize that us telling him about this means we trust him as an ally and friend.

Also, I don't want to straight up join the Maximals until after the Planet Buster happens. It's more narratively dramatic and appropriate at that point.
>>
>>1957103
>>1957110
The thing is, again. It does include telling Prime about the alliance, but goes into some weird groveling thing that Warpath at this moment wouldn't do.

If you remove
>That's why I'm here, now, coming clean with you, Prime. My way of doing things, my way of thinking...it won't work. There is no way to make it viable. and change this
> I had thought that Blackarachnia was with me on that, but I have seen that she is just like Megatron, ready to force bots onto her side rather than give them a choice.
To something more akin to wanting to try and turn her from the predacons, because we lament that she was never given a choice.

Then I'll support it.
>>
>>1957033
Prime, I play a dangerous game. unfortunatly my time to play it is coming to an end. I have been working with Blackarachnia to get the jump on any new stasis pods and trying to reach the maximal in her...I dont see it happening. I don't like it but there can be no third party here...all it takes is one mistake and things are too close now. Ive been undermining the Preds using their lack of unity to gather resources and such. But the time is done, its time to come in...

"Well let me start straight into it. I've been working with Blackarachnia..."

Primal looks like he was just struck by a bolt of lightning. "What?!"

"She approached me when we had taken her prisoner."

"Wait a moment, did you have anything to do with her escape? And Cheetor getting injured?" you can see his eyes narrow.

"No. She asked my aid and offered her cooperation against the Predacons, but I turned her down."

"But you were still working together?"

You shrug. "Sort of. Technically yes."

"Explain." he smacks his hands on the table between you. "Now."

"I had intended to start my own....organization. One committed to being independent but still fighting against the Predacons. After she managed to escape the Axalon, I thought that maybe there was more to her and having an inside source within the Preds organization would be helpful towards that goal."

Primal hangs his head, shaking it. "What is with you and this need to operate as an independent Warpath. You're a Maximal, many of your actions have show that and while i understand you wish to do things your own way, you cant do this alone."

"I know. Thats why I started working with the she spider." You scratch the back of your head. "I thought I could flip her."

The Maximal commander just face palms. "Warpath, she's a Predacon. She may have been made from Maximal parts but she's Predacon to the core now."

"I'm starting to get that impression." You take a long breath. "Look Optimus, I'm was wrong to hid this for so long. I thought she was willing to help me with my mission against the Predacons and help the protoforms choose their own path. For awhile there, I thought I was making some head way but its starting to feel like she's been playing me since the lab."

"Tarantulas lab. So thats how you found it."

"As well as the information that led to us getting to Tonguelasher's stasis pod."

"She had access to the array back at my outpost and made a few upgrades to my equipment back there as well. She also hacked the last stasis pod to ensure it landed safely."

"Blackarachnia managed to hack our tech?"

"And I think she also was the one to recover the pod."

"Why didnt she attempt to reprogram the protoform then?"

You straighten up. "Well, I had persuaded her. Originally I managed to convince her that we could recruit memebers to our side without using reprograming chips or shell programs."

Optimus rubs his chin. "But that's no longer the case?"

"She's upset that Tonguelasher joined up with the Maximals. She wanted him to either join me as an independant or join the Predacons, loyal to her. Divide and conquoer, within their own ranks. "

"I see, then what Tonguelasher told me about you willing to let him join the Predacons is true then as well?"

"Eh...sort of. I told him to decide who he wanted to join. I gave him the same choice I had before."

"This is a serious problem Warpath. If she is as capable with our tech as you say, she's now more dangerous than ever. Even if she's got alteriare motives from Megatron's, she's a wild card we can't afford."

You shrug, "It gets better."

Primal gives you a dry look. "Go on."

"Well on one hand, the work we did together bore fruit. She told me that another stasis pod will be arriving soon; less than a week."

"Did she say when and where?"

Your eyes side glance as you cringe. "I was supposed to bring the cubes and tech from Tarantulas' unfinished lair to her tonight at the outpost, in exchange for the information." you make air quotes "to compensate for fumbling the stasis pod mission."

Optimus is unusually still and silent. He's definately not happy but you can see he's carefully processing the information you've given him.

>Argue, you may be on the Maximal's side, but you're not under his command

"Is this some kind of joke, Primal?"

Optimus expression shifts back to his stern expression from earlier. "Warpath this isn't up for debate."

"The pit it ain't! I'm on your side, sure, but I'm not under your command."

Rattrap and Rhinox look at each other and back at you and Optimus. Rattrap takes a few steps back towards a console.

"Uh, Chopperface, you might want to come up here..." he says meekly. Rhinox on the other hand stands by the center control table with one of his hands hovering over some buttons.

"You two care to explain what's going on?"

"Warpath here has been colluding with Blackarachnia and the situtation has become dangerous."

The two Maximals turn to stare at you. Rhinox narrows his eyes towards you, it seems like he's put two and two from when your comlink started blinking last time.

"We were working together to disrupt and slag Preds, which I have been doing. Without her assistance we wouldn't even know about the stasis pods, let alone help land it safely."

Optimus starts up, "But now she's got access to our technology and she's apparently able to hack into it. More so you were planning on striking a deal with her."

"I came here with the cubes didn't I?" you turn to face Primal. "Because I've come to the conclusion that she may become a wild card due to the current circomstances."

"You should have come to us in the first place."

"I make my own plays, Primal. Until you defeat me in combat, I handle my own situtations my way."

"Not on this matter."

Dinobot enters from one of the hallways in his beast mode. "What is going on up here?"

Rattrap gestures towards you and Optimus, "It appears Fangs has been spinning webs with Legs."

You continue pointing your finger to Primal. "Lets get one thing straight, I'm willing to help you out with this but I'll be damned if I'm going to be locked up. The only way thats happening is if you drag me there."

The room is tense and silent.

Optimus nods towards Rhinox, who presses a button.

"Sentinel, Online."

From above you see a series of chrome double barreled guns descend from the ceiling of the Axalon's bridge. They are targeting you. You know that these are stun and tangler guns so you figure they're not trying to slag you, but its clear things are getting pretty heated.

Optimus looks over at you, "Stand down, Warpath."

You look around the room, not much you can do in your current situation that wouldnt involve fighting the Maximals. You hate the idea of having to surrender yourself.

"Sounds like you're in a heap of trouble, pussy cat." you hear coming from your comlink. Fortunately you still had it set for your circuits only. "Was going to call and see if you have my presents when what do I hear you doing other than blowing our whole operation to the Maximals."

Oh hell. She was listening in on you.

"Well this is quite the predicament now isnt it? Of course, I could always try to shut down the Maximal power grid, for a bit. Dont want to make your escape too easy." She cackles. "What do you say kitty cat?"

You give your response to the Maximals. You notice some of them looking over each other and over to Optimus.

"Sentinel....stand down." The ship's weapons head back up into the ceiling vents.

"Optimus, are you sure about this?" Rhinox says. Optimus ignores the Rhino's question and continues to give out orders.

"Rattrap...call everyone in. There's some important decisions we need to discuss."

"Oh man, I dont believe this?!" he says plopping down to his chair. "You got a screw loose monkey? This guy just threatened us again and you wanna let him go?"

"No" Optimus says. "Warpath WILL be going to a another room while the Maximals," He gives you a hard look. "assess this latest situation." Optimus turns back to face you. "You listen to me Warpath. You've raised some interesting points but you've also made some questionable decisions. I'm taking a huge risk with my and my crew's lives listening to you. You'll have our answer once we've come to a decision no sooner. You leave, then you walk without us backing you. Until we're done discussing this, you are not to leave this ship."

You hear the spiders voice in your ear. "You're playing a dangerous game pussy cat. For someone who doesn't like others making decisions on their behave, you seem committed to do that for me in this scenario. I've made my opinions on the matter known, yet still you gamble with our alliance. Just be careful you dont over play this hand of yours. I can always solidify myself into Megatron's good graces after I bring back a brand new Predacon if I dont like what I'm hearing."

Things are spiraling out of control and frankly you feel like you've might just be in over your head. Why cant the planning ever be as easy as combat? Atleast there you know where folks stand.
>>
And thats gonna do it for me tonight. Thanks for everyone who came out. I'll be around for a bit as always to answer questions, comments, etc
>>
>>1969456

Do you think we're approaching some kind of endgame, or s there plenty left to do?
>>
>>1969503
Not entirely. I think so folks have been trying to push for an all out battle with the Predacons.

Honestly there's plenty left to do, its just not many of opportunities have happened for it to go that way.

Even if we hit an 'endgame' scenario, i have those opportunities ready for a second run through. Hopefully we'll get to do them
>>
>>1969520

Would you start the scenario again on the second runthrough from where it kicked off the first time? Would we get a direct continuation? Or would we be a new protoform awakening in the midst of a three-way battle between a Predacon faction consisting of Tansmetal Terrorsaur and Skorponok post lava-bath, either undiscovered Maximals or a new ship fiull of Maximals, and the forces of Waspinator, god-king of the human species?
>>
>>1969547
i actually plan on leaving it up to a vote depending on how this quest ends.

If Warpath gets destroyed, you can either restart from a similar first thread beginning, you could be a current timeline protoform, or we can jump ahead to transmetal/fuzor era

if it end games, where one side wins. then it would be a thread one start pre planet destroyer, transmetal/fuzor ear (post planet destroyer) or something else that i havent fully fleshed out.

There's always a chance for some of your mentioned scenarios as well. some of those might even happen here, depending on player decisions. (if you guys recall, tarantulas did plan on sending a false signal into space to dupe Maximals into crashing on the planet to either capture and reprogram them or steal the ship and desert them, going back to the Predacon government and potentially returning with a new squad of predacons to eliminate both groups ala Ravage

We'll be doing another short run tonight in about 1 hr

You are sit waiting in a small room within the Axalon. While you're not under lock and key you get that Sentinel is on high alert should you try to leave or stray to far from these quarters. You wouldn't say you're a prisoner but its not exactly VIP accommodations. I guess throwing in that last thinly veiled threat at the end of your rousing speech was probably not the smartest play, but you needed to make your point on the current state of affairs clear.

The situation that you've been made aware of is that all the Maximals have been called back to the ship and are going to discuss what has transpired. You were hoping for your confession of your of the book activities to go over a bit better, with all that you feel you have accomplished but you can understand atleast why they're upset.

To make matters more complex, Blackarachnia was listening in to your conversation. You can only assume she heard pretty much everything but the part that she seemed quite offended by was you making your own assumptions on what her future would hold. She'd made it clear that she has no more love for the Maximals then she does Megatron and many other Predacons. Hence her approaching you on the 'third faction' concept that you seemed to have made for yourself.

You find sitting down here is becoming grating on your nerves. You're not sure what they're discussing exactly and you're not even sure if the others have arrived yet.

What do you focus on while down here?

>Try to think of who might have been swayed or may still consider yourself their ally
>See if you can get a hold of any of the Maximals that were outside the base
>Contact Blackarachnia, see if she can give you any information. Even i f things between you two are chilly, she strikes you as the gossip/gloating type

>Try to think of who might have been swayed or may still consider yourself their ally

Well you think about it for a little bit
>Optimus Primal
From your current predictament, you get the idea he no longer trust you and from what Cheetor said, he might still be reluctant to act against the Predacons on the offensive. With Blackarachnia being able to hack Maximal tech, he'll probably want to focus on shoring up the base defenses

>Rhinox
Ever since you received a call from Blackarachnia while you were working with him on the cyber bees, he's become suspicious of you. Well now you validated his concerns. You will admit that he appears to have kept his concerns to himself, but now you guess he's probably brought this up with the rest of the Maximals now. As for where he stands you know he'll most likely side with Optimus' no matter his decision.

>Rattrap
Rattrap has always been a tricky one to read. You know he's got no love for Predacons and might support going after them if only to watch Megatron get scrapped. But the spider thing might have hurt your case seeing as he was with you when you first encountered her. Will he trust that it wasn't some ruse from the start?

>Dinobot
You get that he respects you as a warrior and has been vocal about going after the Predacons from sometime. You also noticed he was oddly quiet during the whole argument with Optimus.

>Cheetor
The kid has always been a wild card as you know that he looks up to both you and Optimus Primal. You feel you might have swayed his opinion about taking the fight to the Predacons but you also get that he's got that hero worship with Optimus. You think he might be willing to persuade the others to show you some leniency

>Tigatron
The old soldier will probably not be pleased with the current development, but you know he considers you a kindred soul. Being more of an advocate for peace, he probably wont support the fight with the Predacons, but he'll probably show compassion to you trying to do what you believed to be the right thing. At the very least you dont expect him to turn his back on you.

>Airazor
Well one thing is you're probably sure that she'll feel a bit betrayed. You've worked with her quite a bit and while you have become good comrades, you had kept many secrets from her. She might suspect that she might have her confidence shaken. As for the battle with the Predacons, you know she's not one to shy away from a fight but this might have soured your position with her.

>Tonguelasher
You interactions with him have been limited to his first arrival. Its tricky to get a clear read on him. The war and this world are new to him and you dont think he's got a strong sense of one way or the other.

You get the idea that the Maximals might not be entirely swayed to go on the offensive at this time due to your side bargain. It will be an up hill battle to get everyone on board.

>Its time to ditch the Maximals. You made your attempts, but its clear Optimus will never truly respect your autonomy. Its time to truly go independent.

ive hated maximals day 1.
>>
>>1973440
Well i've had a few problems with some of the votes in the past but since there was a majority of people wanting to go take those directions, i went with it. I figured it would add some interesting tension of trying to play too many sides and in my opinion it has, but its starting to get a bit...much.

>>1973424
I'd rather not have to flat out kill off Warpath, but if it ultimately comes to that, then so be it. I will probably remove any 'neutral' path overall next run through though. It had the results i had originally feared.

That said, where would players want to (re)start?

Brand new run through (see thread 1)

Or a continuation of the current time line, (Warpath will be deactivated; locked in a stasis pod) but as a new stasis pod protoform.

This isnt an etched in stone decision right now, I'm just trying to get a feel of what my regular player base is feeling
>>
>>1973463

I'd vote for continuation on to where Warpath was deactivated, as a new protoform.

And this time, don't make it open-ended. Make it Maximal or Predacon, no third option.
>>
>>1973463
Honestly man. I think you should just start over from the beginning. I feel like this whole quest got derailed. I love transformers, and I think a big problem is that people really like Maximals but want that added spice of being a bit of a rouge. I dont blame them I think its cool as hell too, but I dont think this character is for it and quite frankly this place is kind of dead. But thats just my 2 cents.
>>
Whatever you choose, its been a blast. Personally enjoyed Warpath's staunch viewpoints on choice and independence. I think the downfall of the character, trying to collude with Blackarachnia. I blame that on anons trying to play two different characters. One a duplicious and cunning assassin and the other a gruff but noble-hearted warrior.

>>1973463
If you do decide to reset, I would suggest resetting completely. Warpath kind of heavily tipped the odds in favor of the Maximals. I remember you saying in a previous thread how you regretted letting us kill off Preds so early on.
>>
>>1973485
This as well.
I think if you are going to make a neutral idea, (which is really fun in my opinion. It could be really fun.) It should be completely neutral. Like going to odds with the Predicons AND the Maximals.
>>
Or just being a character that specializes heavily in infiltration.
>>
>>1973485

You know...I think you hit the nail on the head on where this derailed.

Though I think it's also part some anons wanting to waifu Blackarachnia
>>
>>1973485
Alternately, you could make it a continuation, but with some minor retcons.

Things like...
Blackarachnia was actually manipulating Warpath the whole time as part of an ingenious plan to sow dissent in the Maximal crew.

The dead Preds were just a ruse to make them trust Warpath more before his inevitable 'betrayal.'

The secondary goal was to turn Warpath against Optimus and shake the absolute trust his team has in his leadership and judgement. Warpath would be a dangerous enemy for the Maximals now.

You could decide whether he really switched sides or kept neutral.

The new character gets to deal with an obstacle in the shape of Warpath. The new dynamic of the Preds and Maximals and the internal struggles post-Warpath.

I'd say its a pretty dang ripe environment for robot melodrama and action.

>>1973500
As a fellow QM who has had a Quest derail because of the Waifu Wars, I can completely empathize.
>>
I will willfully admit, I found Blackarachnia to be bangin'.

but i still think just restart the whole fucking thing.
new name of quest etc. it'll let other people come in.
>>
I'm definitely glad that you guys have been enjoying it overall. That does give me confidence to keep QM-ing As I had said in the past this was my first attempt at doing so. I have even been humoring the idea of running another quest on other days, to help maintain a more consistent schedule

I dont blame the collusion with Blackarachnia so much, i tried to give folks people as many options as possible to either go with it (and stick with that plan) or to oppose it. I do heavily feel that its been a major point of contention though as many were either all in or completely against it. (about the time i started noticing the cracks as it were)

There's a few other moments here and there that also contributed to it.

Honestly i feel partially responsible for the Blackarachnia thing due to the fact that Warpath was going to need 'allies' and she was one of the few individuals that would be willing to do so.

I wouldn't mind playing this again just as us alone with both sides trying to either win us over or getting screwed with when they try and fight us.

Honestly the only reason the neutral path kinda got screwy here is because like I said before there aren't many preds worth working with besides maybe waspinator and blackarachnia.

Everyone else is an asshole, even a neutral transformer would rather work with Prime than with Megatron.

It's just common sense.

the hard part with that, is that i could be pretty boring in the opening thread. It was pretty slow last time, except for the actual creation process. i know many people (players and qm's) are down on it, but i love the enthusiasm that the players had.

How else do you think we get a fang fist upper cut attack haha
>>
>>1973553
Right? It was our own fuck up tho. we couldve used them for recon, maybe found some way to use them as workers for bases or some shit. ugh
>>
>>1973560

Alright maybe not a full reboot, but certainly a dial back.

Not sure to where though.
>>
Cov, do you have an account on Akun by chance?
i wanna follow it just in case you go with your idea.
>>
Glad to see there's an interest in the Mass Effect idea as well. it wouldnt follow too strictly to the 'story of the Sheppard' but you could run into folks and such. I love the franchise (though i havent played ME:A yet)

So it feels like the consensus is to restart but of course I'll keep looking over this thread and start making preparations starting Tues

In the meantime if you guys have any questions about this quest i'll happily answer them. I'll do my best to remember specific answers and such, alternate decisions or mysteries and things. Of course, I'll withhold anything you dont want me to potentially spoil or carry over into next Quest.

i do have one
https://fiction.live/user/adarashope

i havent done anything with it just yet, just following some stories looking for inspiration to various ideas on how to handle things like i do here.
>>
>>1973590
I'd recommend checking out Paradosi's and Confoundus' quests as well, pretty popular. There's a naruto quest Con is running recently thats pretty cool
>>
ugh idk why it doesnt let people follow before you make a story but i bookmarked it.
>>
>>1973570
Well again that could be tricky. I feel that it might be too tricky to find a good place to reboot that hasnt had decisions/consequences that fully carried over into future threads
>>
>>1973595
I'll look into those.

Thanks for the tips

Well then the only thing to do is a clean break, at least after we first emerged anyway.
>>
Well then i guess then this will be the end of the road for Warpath sadly

On Wednesday we'll be starting a new

Just to make sure though that I got everyone's opinion on the matter

>Reboot, all original series characters and a new PC (Rollin character creation)
>Same continuity, but new stasis pod PC

No 15 min time limit this time. I'll call it after work Tues (around 5pm PST)

>Reboot, all original series characters and a new PC (Rollin character creation)
night cov
>>
>>1973652
have a good night and thanks for coming out

>>Reboot, all original series characters and a new PC (Rollin character creation)

Kinda wanted to keep warpath, but if it's not to be it's not to be.

Shame he had to die because of our idiocy.
>>
>>1973677
Who knows? Maybe in the new story he could appear again?
>>
>>1973500

I really hoped we'd get a new fembot from the pod just so we'd have another option besides waifuing the black widow. I feel half of the whole 'let's break character and team up' came from the fact that she was the only real visably viable romance prospect, and if we'd had a maximal/independent fembot about we could have tried playing Warpath more in line with his core beliefs.

>Reboot, all original series characters and a new PC (Rollin character creation)

A great quest with a great start in the best section of the beast wars. Here's trying it again.
>>
>>1973647
Same Continuity
>>
>>1975129
?????
>>
>>1974461
Well the funny thing with that was Airazor is a Maximal fembot but almost EVERYONE was adamant about not cockblocking Tigatron (hell folks were even going on about not blocking Silverbolt who wasn't even in the story yet lol)

I do think another female would be interesting. In part when folks had mentioned a possible waifu, I gave players the option if they wanted to preprogram/customize the protoform that tongue lasher emerged from but I think people didn't full grasp that, which I had plan to work on making those options more clear
>>
>>1975145
He's referring to my post for the next run of the quest
>>
>>1975407
ik, i noticed it a little while back. i thought he was you lol
>>
>>1975397

I think the playerbase would have loved that OOC, I know I would have. Trouble is, IC Warpath was very big on the whole 'Freedom of choice' angle, and having him overwrite and customize another sentient machine didn't really gel with that core to his ethos.
>>
>>1976967
maybe we should make a character that isnt so moral, but isnt a complete monster. i feel like that would add a lot more freedom
>>
>>1976967
Yea that was quite apparent.
>>
>>1976988
That’s always a possibility. Would be an interesting possibly depending on which side you guys get
>>
>>1977007
yeah, hopefully anons go for it kek
>>
>>1973647
>>Reboot, all original series characters and a new PC (Rollin character creation)
Honestly, I wouldn't be remiss to a completely original Beast Wars, either on a different world, or after Primal and Megatron leave, who were lured in by one of Tarantulus' beacons suddenly activating.

Of course, I'd also like a situation where we're a Shattered Glass Beast Wars combatant and we have no fucking idea what's going on.
>>
>>1975397

We could always turn the fembot shortage to our advantage, stay with most of what made Warpath and just switch that M to an F and take Mountain Cougar as our new cat.
>>
Well then it looks like the votes have it. We'll be doing a full reboot. I'll have to take some time to rework the paste bins most likely to night.

I do have some late plans tomorrow so I'm debating on how early to start tomorrow or we can try for Fri (I might have plans on Thursday but if that day opens up, we can try run then as well)

Do you all have a preference

>Weds (will be a shorter day; might only get through character creation not much else)
>Friday (hopefully start early and do a full run like usual)
>Thursday (iffy atm but might open up-see Friday)

Sorry folks no weekends due to work
>>
>>1980118
whatever you feel comfortable doing but i guess
>Friday (hopefully start early and do a full run like usual)
if it means a full run
>>
>>1980153
Its more about people showing up and being around than anything lol
>>
>>1980356
Lol! cant argue with that. ik what you mean. yeah. maybe friday thats when people are normally in the best mood and free, i think.
>>
Well looks like I missed the party. Fug having a life ;.;
>>
