You are Ushi Walker, the half-japanese/half-american wielder of the mighty quirk “Everything is Bigger in Texas", U.A High first year student and, along with Mineta, one of the two 'Heroes' sent to deal with with the 'villains' holed up in the junk filled building you are standing in, before they deploy their nuclear weapon in less than ten minutes.

This is all, of course, part of a Trial of Battle and not an actual raid. However, that doesn't mean you aren't giving it your all. and the fact that Todo-kun and Tokoyami trapped both the outer walls and the damned roof assures you they aren't going easy on you either.

Thus you stand on the fourth floor, surrounded by debris, with your shrunken partner partly entangled on your hair.

The light entering through the hole in the roof lets you see that the whole room is full of junk, with piles of crates, plastic barrels, boxes and metal drawers covering every wall, or making new ones. The floor is no better, with splintered pieces of what looks to have been a door once, moldy cardboard and empty paint and spray cans covering every inch of the ground not covered in the debris of your entry.

"So only one of them is coming?" You ask Mineta, pulling him off your hair, along with some strands of your own hair. Ow.
>"From the west!" He replies, standing on your hand. "If the map was right, that's the same direction to the staircase."
"From the third floor, then."
>"...May I go back to my height now?"
"Nope."

Now you can hear it too, a cracking and scraping sound, closing on your position.

If you are going to to hide, it must be NOW.

>What do you do?

>[Hide behind a rusting cabinet next to the western doorless door. You may be easier to find, but you will be close if you need to fight.]
>[Hide behind the rubble of your entrance. Not a particularly good place to hide, but it's not awful either.]
>[Hide behind some planks on the southern wall. It'd be easy to run away, but harder to close up.]
>[Write up.]

And...

>[Shrink yourself.]
>[Stay normal.]

You carry Mineta to the battered old cabinet, then shrink yourself down to 8 inches.

"Carpet."
>"Blonde, I'm sure."
"Shut up and litter the entrance with your quirk, wouldya?" You tell him, your patience wearing thin. "Try to hide them in the debris, then we can get a jump on whoever it is."
>"Okay, okay." He says, doing as you asked. "But at this size he is just gonna lose a shoe. Maybe trip."

So with your trap set, you wait the last seconds.

First, you feel the cold.
Then you hear, amongst the cracking and scraping, a different sound.
You can't figure it out.

Then, he enters.
Half covered in ice, with a glowing red eye and an expression that says 'I can stomp everyone in my path', Todo-kun enters the room, looking around…
...and stepping right in Mineta's trap.

>"..Have you left already?" He says. "Or are you hiding?"

He scans the room from where he stands, then stumbles as he tries to take a step forwards and
his feet can't leave the ground.

---
Trap sprung! You start first round, even if you are literally the dumbest person in the room!

So you lunge at him, one hand on your hip and the other reaching out, enlarging yourself to be as big as the un-holed parts of the roof would allow you to be.

As you have come to expect, you are really fast, going from hiding to pouncing hunter in an instant.

However, Todo-kun isn't slow by any measure and tries to block your lunge with an ice blast that would have easily engulfed your body, had you not enlarged yourself.

But you are both large and fast, lunging above the ice as it forms and grabbing him anyway, standing on your knees and your free hand.
The instant you do, both of activate your quirks at the same time.

You get buffeted by cold wind, as ice grows and covers both your legs, abdomen and hands. Luckily, your nifty gloves take the whole blast on your hands, leaving them cold but unharmed.
Todo-kun gets shrunk to 7 inches, clutched firmly inside your hand, his boots unshrunk and still stuck to the floor.

Your abs are covered in ice and hurt a bit, your legs shake and your and gloves jeans are covered in frost, but you have him literally in your grasp.

"G-gotcha." You say, shivering a.
>"...True. But you have not captured me yet. Nor have you found the warhead." Todo-kun remarks, wiggling a bit inside your closed hand.

The strange noise is gone and you feel the dent in the metallic plate on Todo-kun's back...
Then you notice the warm metal rapidly cooling down. A Heating System.
A broken one now, you notice as you see his red eye turn off and his body shiver.

"We still have time to get your ally and or the nuke."
>"Woah." Says your pardner behind you.

You choose to believe that he is awed by your prowess and not the view.

>"T-" Is all Todo-kun manages to say before you drag your thumb through the side of his face, taking off his earpiece.
"Whatcha think yer doing, little man?" You say with an ear to ear smile seeing him squirm.
God, good thing you are partially-iced. You'll still need a cold shower if this keeps goin'.

>"That was awesome, but we really should move while Tokoyami still doesn't know he lost Todoroki." Mineta says. "Can, I get my other three feet and half inch back now?"

Then you feel the cold in your hand increase sharply.
...Right he isn't out of the game until you actually wrap the tape around him.

Yes. Since 1980.

>>
>>2000680
On her next day off we should send ushi to study Japanese child custody law.

In America, CPS would hopefully have taken shoto by now.
>>
>>2000692
While I'm not overly familiar with the actual laws, there's a couple things to keep in mind.
First off, NOBODY outside of the immediate family knows about Endeavour's efforts to win an Ikari-Soryu Award for Outstanding Parenting. It's never been reported, and Shotomama is currently sitting in a nuthouse. A nice nuthouse, but still...
And culturally, the Japanese tend not to meddle in people's personal lives, so it would likely take real, hard evidence to get anything done.
>>
>>2000692
Are you kidding, no they wouldn't. Endeavor is a hugely famous celebrity with money and public support. Anyone who spoke up would get sued and shamed into the ground.
>>
>>2000714
I don’t know about japan but in AMERICA we have this concept that “no man is above the law”
>>
>>2000730
Sure we have that concept, but money and power often find ways of warping the bonds of men to their ideals. Corruption like this in Hollywood and politics. I could easily imagine it happening in the inner workings of Hero society.
>>
>>2000730
Remind me who your president is again.
>>
>>2000730
In Japan it's basically "For the good of Society." Which does not mean for the good of the individual.

Also, America might have that concept, but it doesn't seem to matter a lot of the time.
>>
>>2000744
But I’ll bet it matters to Ushi.

If she was the sort of person who put what is easy ahead of what is right, she wouldn’t be much of a hero, would she?

Yes, but they can be married at 16. 14 in some areas.

"Article 731 to 737 of the Japanese Civil Code stipulates the following requirements: The male partner must be 18 years of age or older and the female partner must be 16 years of age or older. A person who is under 20 years of age cannot get married in Japan without a parent's approval."

The cold keeps increasing, and you start feeling the chill creep inside your glove, and the cold air buffets at your chest, but it doesn't hurt at all, it lacks power to bite through your gloves, let alone your thick hide.

Shoto, on the other hand (heh) seems to have taken the brunt of his own attack. You can feel him tremble more violently now. You don't like that one bit.

"Shoto? Are you okay?"

>"Do not worry about the enemy's wellbeing Walker" He replies. "If I can take out at least one of your hands…"

"That's… not gonna happen, and I reckon you know it too."

>"Every second you lose, every moment you hesitate to end me is one less second Tokoyami will need to hold you at bay." He says, his eyes set with a determination his hoarfrost covered body is clearly not supporting.

As the frost creeps over your sleeve, a completely unrelated chill creeps up your spine.

This is just an exercise…

....Who taught you life is war?

"You are freezing..." You start, but he interrupts you.

>"Th-that is the idea, yes." He says. "Even one hand, and you will no-not be able to pull the same trick on To-tokoyami."

"...But not burning. Them coins don't melt easy, so I reckon you'd have welded my glove to my charred hand by now if you wanted."

>"Even if I were to wield them in battle, the idea is to stop you, never to hurt you."

>"But hurting yourself is okay?" You ask him. "That looks like frostbite in the works. I'm not going to watch you do this to yourself."

You sit on the ground and extend your other hand towards your pardner.

"Mineta, could you hand me the capture tape?"

>"Catch!" he replies, throwing the roll of tape into your palm. "Make it quick, You got five minutes to win us this."

You take the tape and put it in your other hand, next to Shoto, then enlarge them both as you shrink yourself, until all 'feels' normal.

"Take a breather, soldier boy." You say as you slowly wrap both the capture tape and your arms around him with a hug.

He has all the time in the world to take you out, even a weaker ice blast could completely freeze your legs.

But he can't bring himself to do it.

He just stands there and accepts it.

"I'll be done here in five." You tell him. "Then we can watch the other matches with some hot cocoa and a blanket."

>"I can heat myself just fine."

"I never said it was for the cold." You reply, breaking the hug.

>"...I will wait." He says, letting himself fall backwards and leaning on the wall.
>>
"Now!" You say, turning towards your teammate. "We have a trial to complete!"

>"Wow, you are an airhead." He replies. "Todoroki froze me in place with his first attack and you didn't even notice?"

It's true, the small amount of ice that made it past you was enough to freeze both of his tiny feet and up to his knees.

"I guess it's up to me now." You say, dusting off as much frost from your attire as you could.

>"... Can you, please, give me back my stature?"

"No time!"

>What do you do?

Tokoyami seems like the type of guy to who'd try and go for a straight one-on-one battle, and neither of their team's quirks are suited towards making any traps besides ice on the floor.
We should be fine, but we should avoid fighting him straight up.

During the fight with Tokoyami we can do a turn around so Mineta can pull a surprise attack with his balls.

Sticking mineta to our back is a great idea.

>>2001711
He does not count as caught, because he has not been tied in capture tape.
>>
>>2001705
Oh, and we'll probably get bonus points for not leaving our teammate behind.
>>
I don't mind sticking him to our back, but we really don't have time to carefully search. Five minutes minus the thirty seconds to grab Minoru isn't enough for that.

>"Are you really gonna leave me like this?" Mineta asks as you leave for the staircase.
>"No, she will not." Shoto says from his spot on the wall.
"Yer right. And I hate it." You say, turning back and pulling your Ice Axe from your belt.
>"Now, there's no need for that!" Mineta replies, waving his arms in front of himself.
"Shut up. I'm gonna chop the ice and get you outta there." You say as you crouch in front of him, starting your work.

However, chopping ice without cutting into the flesh beneath takes more time and patience than what you'd like, taking up about two minutes of careful toil with the axe.

"One more second and you'll be free." You say, turning the axe around and pulling the last piece of ice with the adze.
>"Crap!" He shouts as his tiny legs give up, falling forwards and over you.

With one of your hands carrying a sharp implement, you aren't able to catch him, clawing at empty air as he falls face first towards your cleavage...
...before crashing into a previously nonexistent sheet of ice and sliding to the ground.

"R-really!?" You shout. "You tried that anyway!?"
>"I swear I didn't!"
>"His legs went complet-tely n-numb with the cold." Shoto says, watching. "He is n-not at fault for t-this, if anyt-thing, the blame is my own."
"I'm fairly sure he could have tried to fall sideways…"
>"Perhaps." He states. "But you have wast-ted far t-yoo much t-time here already."
"You should ramp up the heat, that's not good for you."
>"I t-told you. I will wait-t."
"Thanks."
>"What-tever for? I'm-m out, I can not-t int-terfere." He says, looking at you.

In that moment, you understood. Not unlike the day you met him and butted into his personal life, saying you would share his burden, he is sharing yours too. He has your as much if not more than you have his.
Maybe it's just his face twitching thanks to the cold, but you prefer to interpret it as a smile to be returned in kind. It suits him better.
>>
You place a hand on Mineta's shoulder and enlarge him to normal. Well, his normal anyway.
>"I can't feel my legs…" He whines.
"I know, I'm kinda frosty myself"
>"Sorry." You hear Shoto apologize.
>"Why did you waste time freeing me if you knew I couldn't walk!?"
"Like it or not, and I swear I don't, you are useful." You tell him, lifting him up. "Now, how the hell do I carry you?"
>"My belt is almost as sticky as my grapes." He explains. "I could go stuck to your shirt."
"That's nifty." You say, lifting him by his shoulders and flipping him over your head, leaving him stuck to your vest, back to back.
>"...I'm backwards."
"And it's no accident." You tell him, taking an instant to balance the weight before sprinting in the direction Shoto came from. "We are running blindly into the dark, so I'll need you to watch my back."
>"You realize you are going to run downstairs in the dark, right?"

"Not gonna run." You reply. "I can do better.."
He is right, this is terribly dangerous, specially with the glistening ice covering the steps! But having seen it and being prepared, you just slide down the makeshift slide, using your axe to scrape the wall and keep your speed in check.

>"Now we just have to comb the floor in less than two minutes." Mineta says behind you. "We'd need a miracle to win this."
"Or thinking for a second." You say, licking your thumb. "East is way colder than the rest of the floor!"
>"And what does that tell you?"

"Huh…"

You forgot the huge boats. With guns. Gunboats.
>>2004372
Personally I'd favor 4x4 in this situation, so that we can blitz Tokoyami before he can react. We do NOT want to get in a brawl with Dark Shadow inside a building.
>>
>>2004372
In both cases, the character reacting would need to roll the same speed or more.
With the 4x4, that'd be 6+ dice with the same number. With the 3x10, 5+ but it would have an additional bonus.

"That'd be the room the bomb is, that's what I think, now cover your eyes, we are making an entrance." You say, handing him the Mag-lite.

>"I get to be huge?"

"Don't get used to it. Now, hold that for a second and shut up if you aren't going to say anything cool." You tell him, placing one hand on your hip and enlarging yourself and everything you carry, as you swing your ice-axe's pick against the wall.

"KNOCK!" You shout as the pick punches a hole in the wall, then tear off a piece of it with a second swing within the same second. "KNOCK!"

Through the hole you see the warhead encased within cubic meters of ice and a very surprised Tokoyami staring at the mess you made of the wall.

>"Wha-." It's all he manages to say before you interrupt him with another swing.

"It’s the United States!" You shout as you finish your work with a third strike, using the adze of the axe to send the remainder of the wall flying in his direction as a stone rain, causing a chunk of masonry to slam against his chest, causing him to stumble backwards a step.

"Open up the country?.." You say hesitating a bit as you step into the dark room. How did this thing go again?
"Stop... having it be closed?" You finish lamely as Tokoyami stands 'tall' again.

>"You blew it." Mineta says from your back.

>"A black ships' reference…" Tokoyami says, somehow managing to make his long cloak flutter in the chilling breeze. "Appropriate, for nothing but pitch black darkness of the abyss awaits you."

"That's the most chuuni thing I've ever-"

>"Dark Shadow!" He shouts, striking a pose.

And from within his loose fitting cloak a black monster with eerie yellow eyes and an oily black exterior surges forwards, reaching your size in an instant.

>"Beware, I live!" It says.

>"I'll be your last opponent of the evening, and I'll keep you from that weapon for as long it takes." Tokoyami says, waiting for your next move.

"So try as you must, for Nightfall covers me."

I don’t think shadows have mass, so I doubt we can shrink it. I’m not even sure we can grape it.

And as soon as you have the chance, go tag that ice block, shrink it, and pocket the warhead.

If pocketing the warhead while it’s encased in ice doesn’t count as a win, try to grape-and-tape bird boy. That counts as a win, right?

Also have mineta throw some balls and bread pieces toward tokoyami while we circle around. Birdboy might be unlucky enough to fall for the same thing shoto did, thinking we're only throwing bread when there's stuff to stick to there as well.

"Dark… Shadow? Mineta, hand me the mag-lite. I'm lightening this place."

>"Oh, good, I was wondering if it was just me or really that obvious." He says, handing you the flashlight over your shoulder.

You turn it on the instant you grab it, using the massive light to dispel the darkness on the room.

The great shadow monster quickly sheds away into a more manageable human sized mass of liquid looking darkness.

>"The veil of darkness, stripped from us so early on" Tokoyami says, averting his eyes from the huge flashlight. "How did you know?"

"That the dark shadowy monster in the dark room, summoned at the shout of 'Dark Shadow!' might have a dislike for light?' You ask. "I took a guess."

Regardless of the now weaker appearance of… His quirk you guess, Tokoyami doesn't seem like he's going to back down.

>"Very well. You tipped the scales in your favor." He says with a nod. "I'll still do what I must."

>"Run, coward!" The shadow says, remaining between you and Tokoyami.

You stand there for a few seconds, twisting your whip's handle in your grip, while trying to see who would act first and who would get to plan around it, waiting for something to signal a start.

>"...was that thing quoting Sinistar?" Mineta suddenly asks, setting you off.

With a speed you and technique you could honestly call perfect, you crack your whip at him, waving the handle and avoiding his clumsy attempt at blocking with his cloak.

But as the shadow shoots towards your face, claw extended, you can't help but notice that 'perfect' doesn't cut it.

Before your whip strikes, the dark shadow closes its claw and connects a solid hook to the side of your head, not hard enough to force you to turn your head, but enough to rattle your noggin before retreating into Tokoyami's cloak and away from the light.

You don't have a glass jaw, however, and while your hand twitches, you don't let pain affect the practiced motion that is a whipcrack.

The instant right after your vision flashes white, you hear the crack of the cracker tip breaking the sound barrier before striking with blunt force. No need for cuts here.
>>
When you look at your opponent, you can see a thick line of rustled feathers and broken quills running down the side right side of his head and that the giant whip, even if it was not meant to cut, rent a tear on his cloak.

Tokoyami keeps his right eye closed and speaks.

>"Lashed on a cold, dark dungeon…" He says

"...Dark Shadow?"

>"Still holding on..." 'Dark Shadow' replies, peeking out of the cloak's tear. "Can we go home now?"

>"Soon. For now, let us stand proud..." he says, pushing his torn cloak with an arm, causing it to flutter dramatically.

"Mineta, do your thing!" You say putting a shoulder forwards to allow Mineta a good shooting angle, as you lunge and reach for Tokoyami with your free hand. "Get him fixed on the spot!"
>"On it!" He says from his perch, throwing his sticky balls at the dark and rugged birdfaced boy

You cover the distance in an instant, your hand reaching forwards and heralded by a swarm of purple balls, ready to catch him and have him squirming in your hand. Would tiny feathers tickle?
Tokoyami however doesn't just stand there and take it, as it isn't Dark Shadow that bursts out of the cloak, but Tokoyami's own arms, using the rent cloak to intercept the soccer sized balls, then throwing it away.

He looks… skeletal. Definitely out of shape, with little meat on his bones and pronounced .
He makes it work though, with the menacing one eyed glare, crossed arms and Dark Shadow slithering out from his abdomen.

>"You mock how I wear Dark Shadow's weakness on my sleeve." He taunts. "I find that flat out stating it to anyone is even worse. Hold her hands, Dark Shadow."

As your hand is about to grab him, Dark Shadow's claw slides between your fingers, stopping you from touching Tokoyami. Try as you might, you can't feel any actual substance in the shadow.

>"This is bad, isn't it?" Mineta asks.
"...Yeah. Like, 'pretty much fucked' kinda bad." You reply, with your voice touched by nervousness.

You just lost control of the situation, and this is looking darker by the second.
>>
>"Give me, like, a second. I got our backs." Mineta assures you in a whisper.

You can feel him wiggling on your back, even pulling something from your easy-to-access pouches.

You hope he makes up for the time you spent on recovering him.

>"We aren't done yet!" Says Dark Shadow in a chipper tone, right before pulling your arm and headbutting you straight on the forehead, making you drop the Mag-lite.

As you recover your footing, your foe speaks again.

>"Well well, we won't be needing this anymore." Tokoyami boasts. "Dark Shadow, kill the light."
>"Right away!" It replies, clutching the staff sized flashlight in it's claw and bending it like a paperclip, making it sputter, sizzle and die, leaving everything in the room barely visible.

>"Well... Less than a minute and the home advantage is mine again… You are in my world now, n-OOF!" Tokoyami manages to say before a net covered in balls crashes against him, knocking the wind out of him and sticks him to the ground.

You look surprised over your shoulder, to the perplexed face of your pardner.

>"I'm kind of impressed myself. I didn't even think I could throw that hard." He comments, a liquid line running by the side of his face.

"Strength doesn't escalate as you would expect." You reply. "Nice save."
>"Thanks." He says. "He kind of ignored me more than you ignored that net."
"Eh…" As you think of a reply, you notice Dark Shadow growing larger and sharper again, phasing through the net and balls as if they weren't here. "We got a problem, bald mountain class."
>"Celebrate later, got it." He says. "I have the tape right here, think we can still do this."
"Think I'm a quitter still?"

"Don't push it."

I think doing great in general. Most of these are minor points. Proportions are a bit off on the arms. The right arm in particular could stand to be a bit longer (elbow should be just above where her ribcage ends) but I understand it could also be a foreshortening thing.

Secondly, Her hands are a tad too small. As a rule a hand should be about as wide as the figures face (though for anime that should probably be half the size)

I'd probably add a little more definition to her shoulders. Carrying around those boulders would give her some impressive back and shoulder muscles.

I like what you're doing with the boots. I tend to have trouble drawing feet, personally. Its important to remember that the top of cowboy boots end in a V formation where the sides extend up above the front part. Additionally these kinds of boots have fairly tall heels to them. Don't be afraid to google up an image as reference. If there's one thing that school has taught me, its that there's no shame in using reference imagery.

Lastly, to give eyes a bit more life, leave some small, blank circles to indicate some reflection.
>>
>>2013979
Aight, that's actually really good advice. Especially the hand-bit, those are tricky. Thanks anon.
>>
>>2013998
As one drawfag to another, nothing is more vital than critics. Its the only way we evolve as artists.

Keep on drawing, anon! I look forward to seeing you continue improving.

"...We just gotta put the tape around him and we'll win, right?"
>"Are you spouting exposition now?" Mineta quips
"My skull is like an inch thick and I still got me brains rattled twice. Cut me some slack." You reply, annoyed.
>"Dark Shadow, just a few seconds more!" Shouts Tokoyami, struggling against his bindings. "They will lose by time-out!"

You see his silhouette twist and turn, but the net doesn't budge an inch, leaving him as incapacitated as he can be while conscious.
Dark Shadow however, easily matches your size, and doesn't look any friendlier than usual.

"Alrigthy then. I'mma just win us this thing." You say, trying to disimulate just how fuzzy the world is looking to you.

The darkness is not helping your fading focus, as your head pounds and swims in randomly flashing thoughts of determination, hopelessness, excitement, confusion, hunger and the fading pink of arousal.

>"Don't do anything stupid." Mineta warns you. "That thing looks like it could punch a speeding car into a stop bareclawed"
"Ah got a plan! Don'tcha worry none!"

Your plan is simple, throw your loaf of bread to distract the birds as you rush past Dark Shadow and round up Tokoyami in capture tape or something. You'll figure out the details later.

So you lower your head and raise your fists, one of them now carrying your now large loaf and the other the rest of the capture tape, aiming your horns forwards and covering your face with the back of your hands, dashing forwards like a madwoman.

"Catch!" You shout, throwing the enlarged white bread away from you.
>"Bread!?" Dark Shadow shouts excited, getting out of your way and catching the loaf, allowing you to leave it behind.
>"DARK SHADOW, STOP HER YOU BIRDBRAIN!" Tokoyami shouts as you get on his face, his arms and legs uselessly thrashing against the nearby crates in an attempt to get away from you.
>"Right-o!" The shadow says, turning back in an instant with the loaf in one claw, using the other to deliver a punch from the behind, it's featureless knuckles pounding right into your calf from above, pulling the muscle.

Your legs are strong, you know this.
Stronger than most, at least. Strong enough to be covered in ice and only be slowed down by the numbness. Strong enough to withstand the mighty hit that sent your knee crashing into the ground and made you fall hands first into the frozen floor?
No. After the ice, not that strong.

Luckily, nothing beyond the thud of your kneecap punching a dent in the concrete was heard from your skeleton, indicating that it wasn't that strong of a punch after all, just enough to cramp your calf into uselessness. The fall wasn't that hard either, with your gloves' mesh stopping some old scrap from digging into your hand, but the capture tape slid into the dark.

That could have been much worse for anyone smaller, but you are now out of time and options
>>
"Owwie..." You whine from your new position on the ground, with your leg flaring in pain and your target just barely out of reach. Nuhh… It was going so well a minute ago!
>"Your tricks won't help you anymore. Time-out will be any second no-…" Tokoyami says before stopping himself. "How did you know that would work!?"
"You's bird." You push the words through the fog inside your head "Thought you might go for it."
>"Sure! Why the hell NOT!" He replies, before kicking a nearby open crate at your face before screaming. "HERE, HAVE SOME HAY!! AIN'T IT FUNNY WALKER!?"

The crate is full of packaging straw, without signs of fungi, so you naturally wrap your tongue around it and pull it in.
>"Walker stop eating the hay!" Says Mineta, rolling sideways off of your back and tying a small loop of tape around Tokoyami's ankle.

The instant he ties the knot, you hear All Might's voice screaming in your ear.

"HEROES WIN BY CAPTURE! THE HERO! TEAM! WIIIIINS!!!"

"...'s straw. Not a thing funny on it." You say, chewing and ignoring all the fuzz. "Barely any carbs if anythin'... And I thought I had all the tape?"
>"I kept the first foot, since it didn't stick." Mineta explains, sitting and massaging his legs.
>"...What are you doin?" Tokoyami asks, confused.
>"Sorry..." Says Dark Shadow, retracting back to Tokoyami's side. "It's fresh though!"

"Of course it is! Why bring stale bread?" You interrupt your chewing to reply. "And Im' just accepting the ha- straw?"
>"..." Tokoyami stares for a few seconds before snatching the loaf out of Dark Shadow's claw. "Give me that. And shred the net, if you would."

He bites into the chair sized loaf, and… Woah.

"You have teeth..."
>"And you can probably lick your eyeballs." Tokoyami replies calmly, with an amused smile.

You then hear some stumbling steps getting closer.

>"We lost-t?" Shoto asks as walks.
>"Indeed." Tokoyami replies, still stuck to the floor as Dark Shadow slices the net into ribbons. "You were right. She is formidable."
>"And the plan?"
>"We didn't factor the giant… Mineta?" Tokoyami answers and Mineta nods.
>"I'm pretty good at not standing out." Mineta assures you all as Shoto finally stops walking, standing next to you. "... When normal. Can you, you know?"
"Shure." You answer, rolling to your side and returning him to normal with a pat on his back, no buffer time this time.

>"...Size changes are freaky." He says, falling forwards.
>"True." Shoto reaffirms, leaning on your midriff.

A small thing I wrote in the discord.
Might come in handy in a few days.

Pony is just a happy valley girl.
She is probably the happiest person you can meet.
Why wouldn't she be?
She is Pony Tsunotori!
Who doesn't like ponies?
Crazy people, that's who.

Bushy tail, tippity tappity hoovsies and the cutest muzzle in the world, even the prettiest little name!
How can you be any happier than going shopping or prancing on the fields? The wind in her mane and the grass beneath her hands and hooves made her feel so alive, like juicy red apples, insensate amounts of sugar, hay and salt blocks.

Kind of lonely though. Horns are common enough... But what about the rest? For as much progress as progress has had on the states, her livestock mutations still made everyone everyone treat her like a cute little pet, rather than a fellow.
And it's not that she didn't like giving rides, but after a certain age, even her sheltering parents couldn't pretend that pony rides started taking other connotations, even if she herself never caught on, poor innocent happy Pony...
However, she always loved her anime, and ways wanted to know her papa's country. And with the regulations enforced after the push from Hokkaido, wouldn't their little girl be so much happier and safe there?

She took the chance and jumped on without hesitation, armed with nothing but enthusiasm, a terribly rusted Japanese and a good monthly amount of money sent by her parents each week.

Still, things weren't going so well...
Studying was torment and not knowing the language as she should didn't help. How could she even get in U.A if she flunked the written exam?

Her Horn Cannon allowed her to ram her way through the practical, but by the next week she was doomed, if she passed the test it would have been a miracle. Who would like to return home in shame?

But she was lucky! Oh so lucky!
They met before, but then they really conected. A girl like her! Cute four letter name too, even!

Twinsies from then on, she thought. Once in a lifetime chance!
Shame she looked none too happy with herself...
Pony coulds see why, though. Feet and toes and a lack of tail would bum anyone out.

Who denied this girl her chance to prance in the fields? Her own swishy tail and cloven hoovesies?

Poor gal, who by the end of the second day of school had already done so much for her...

But Pony had heard things and a little research on the web confirmed it.

She would make Ushi so, so happy!

She deserves it, and 120$ isn't too much for a good friend...

I’m interested to hear how All-Might and Momo analyze this round. Everyone used their quirks well, and even Mineta was quick with that net/grapes combo, and pushed himself doing so. To me there’s no clear star player.

I do wonder though if our bread trick will force all-might to give a lesson about profiling and if/when/how it is appropriate or not.

"...Can we carry on, please?" You plead.

>"Right." Says young Mineta, right after you finish talking.
>"Will do." Nods the 10th place on the exam, Young Tokoyami.
>"For sure." Replies Enji's son.
"Sorry." Apologizes at last the american.

Were children always this hard to deal with?
Were YOU like this?
You may want to add an apology to that letter you've been wanting to write to Gran Torino…
You let things play out with young Midoriya and Bakugo, but it was necessary.
Their futures may have very well started in that battlefield, and while final outcome was unexpectedly brutal, any effort to temperate Midoriya's soft heart to keep up with his spirit and to get to see into young Bakugo's armored one had to be taken.

These are all things you can only talk about with your now fellow teachers however, so you can see why the kids may be a bit disgruntled. But is it so hard to believe that the Symbol of Peace knows what he is doing when teaching a class?..

Yeah, you can't really blame them, you don't believe it either and the crib notes probably gave away that you are making the teaching frame of the class practically on the fly.

BUT! You can do battle, and battle analysis. So even if your rules need some fine tuning, you are confident you'll teach a valuable lesson to every one of this kids!
So you return to the monitor room and to the other fifteen students waiting for their time on the limelight.

>"...outmached." Young Kaminari is commenting as you enter. "How are we expected to top that? It was the first and sixth places of the entrance exam against the third and seventh..."
>"Just go out there and playing the part like Iida!" Young Kirishima says
>"By outwitting your foes, like Midoriya did again!" Iida adds.
>"Trust your betters, and stick to your plan. Good call Uraraka." Compliments Yaoyorozu.
>...thanks..."
"So man up! We are all in the same class, same league! Ain't that right teach!?" Kirishima finishes, soundly crashing his fists together.
>"Easy for you to say it, number two..." Jiro comments before asking. "...And why did you even memorize the leaderboard?"

Some people just have the right attitude, and some need more reassurance, you guess.
Still, raising fallen spirits is, in your humble opinion, one of the most important parts of a hero's job.

"That's right my boy!" You say. "You just saw how teamwork and a plan can trump sheer battle prowess, as it's usually the case. Villains usually have the home advantage and have the time to rig their lairs with all sorts of nasty tricks, but it's the heroes who usually get to pick the battle. Strategize with your allies and get to know each other's strengths. Just keep in mind that even simple things as a different entry point or an oiled staircase may tip the tides in your favor. Now, let's see how is this team of villains using their setup time!"

With that said, you turn to the screens covering the wall and turn them on.
>>
>"...Is Tokoyami just tearing the building apart?" Kirishima asks
>"Todoroki is pointing out where to dig and Tokoyami is keeping the rubble. There is a plan to their damage." Yaoyorozu points out. "Handholds on the outside sound counter intuitive, but Todoroki go here by recommendation too, he has to know what he is doing."
>"Todoroki got in by recommendation?" Kaminari asks, taking a small pause before speaking again. "And Tokoyami placed tenth on the entry exam... With two powerhouses It's gonna be a curbstomp."
>"No, really, why did you memorize that? You aren't even in it." Jiro asks her teammate.
>"I need to keep up my study schedule with something. Not really great at it, can't afford to drop the habit.."
>"Can see it, you forgot Walker got in the top ten too." Jiro jabs, then turns to the girls on her other side. "She can at least hold her ground, right?"
>"Knowing what she can do? I'd place her raw destructive power close to Bakugo and Midoriya, but the cramped spaces may doom her." Yaoyorozu replies.
>"They are planning their break in as a team, and she is preparing tools. They may plan around that. Ribbit." Asui says, pointing at one of the outer cameras.

You can't help but smile at this kid's comments.
The match hasn't even started, but they have already begun applying what the last match's critique taught them. It makes your job so much easier too.

>"A fistful of junk." Young Bakugo finally says.
>"...She can enlarge it, Dukes." Jiro shoots back.
>"What the fuck is she going to do with those last two, then?" He says, pointing out at two items Walker pulled out of her belt, a pair of ice skates and… a loaf of bread.
>"Maybe she thought Todoroki would freeze the floors?" Sato weakly defends her.
>"But… A loaf of bread?" Even Yaoyorozu doesn't seem to be able to find an explanation.
>"Should've guessed it, the bimbo just needs something to ease down her cud." He says.
>"She already beat the crap out of you once, I'm sure she wouldn't mind a second one Daisy!" Jiro says, raising her voice.
>"WITH A SNEAK ATTACK! AND WHAT THE FUCK IS A DAISY!?"
>"She wasn't attacking." Iida interrupts. "She knocked you out… On accident."
>"Kaminari, do you have signal here?" Jiro asks, her expression getting dangerously smug
>"This gizmo has the best reception I've ever had!" The blonde boy says tapping his ear piece and fishing out his phone from his jacket. "Want me to look something up?"
>"Show me a pic of Daisy Duke would you?" She says, pulling out her own phone and showing a picture of young Bakugo in unbecomingly short denim shorts and a black tank top.
>"... I get it now!" Kaminari says then, laughing and showing a picture of a woman in similarly short shorts standing with her hands on her hips. "She wore it way better though."
>"Delete that shit."
>"How about you shut the fuck up."

"Alright! Tone it down you all." You say. "Honest opinions and criticism are well and good, but tearing each other down for no particular reason will get us nowhere. Don't stop sharing, but cut down on the insults, especially you two."

Jiro and Bakugo just glare at each other, while the rest shrink down a bit under the weight of your words, settling into an uncomfortable silence.

Drat. Luckily, it only lasts a few seconds.

>"At least she put away the loaf." Says Kirishima, starting the crowd again.
>"Todoroki and Tokoyami covered all the windows in black ice, trapped the stairs and put most of the junk on the second floor." Sero ponders out loud, pointing at one of the screens showing the second floor. "That maze right there? A playground for middle to long range quirks, like Todoroki's. Walker would need to ram through far too much junk to reach him and Mineta's balls would suffer from their arch, while he could just freeze them from afar and retreat."
>"And the cuts by the beams rigged the roof to collapse in stages." Yaoyorozu points out " When you add the black ice on the outer walls, they didn't leave any safe way for Mineta and Walker to break in."
>"Seeing it from here, with all the information at once, the 'simplest' solution their best chance would be to cut the chase to the minimum and just punch a hole in the building, retrieving the core." Iida says, adding full arm emphasis to his air quotes. "But trying that without the knowledge of where the warhead is, it could get her warned or suspended for collateral damage..."
>"If the paracord is any indication, they are going for the roof or a high story window." Jiro comments "Must be handy to enlarge your small stuff whenever you want."

You too can see on the screen the boy and girl discussing their break in, but unlike the students here, you are also getting the audio, listening how they plan to use their quirks to get up to the roof, going as far as to planning on how her would have to carry him.

You note that all of the planning and discussion it's about how, never it.
This makes your ever present smile pull up a bit further.

While young Mineta appears to be nothing but a charge to her teammate, she never even comments on the possibility of leaving him behind and performing alone, even when her actions at the Entrance Exam and what you saw yesterday prove that she is more than capable of at least giving a good fight on her own.

Then again, when the Zero Points robot caused that 'classified' incident, this was the only applicant that stayed behind to help her out. Those kind of moments, you've found, tend to cause some measure of mutual respect and understanding.

...Even if young Mineta's negotiations reveal a somewhat twisted conception of what respect for a lady is. You make sure to take notes on his attitude.
>>
>"If she is actually going to try climb up to the roof, she'll need to get rid of the dead weight that's her teammate." Young Bakugo points out. "She may be ripped, but if she doesn't ditch the midget she'll spend the entire match waiting for him on the roof."

After what you saw on the last match, it's no surprise to see he doesn't really value teamwork, even if it was what caused him to lose his match.

Luckily for you and him, this match appears to be shaping up into one of team versus team.
There may be little dialogue between Todoroki and Tokoyami, but whether it's out of sheer… laconism or respect, they didn't waste time arguing.

Wherever Todoroki asked for Tokoyami to rend, he did, and when Tokoyami asked Todoroki to darken every window on the third floor, he did. At the very least, they trusted on each other's competence and didn't waste prep time arguing. Which reminds you…

"ALRIGHT! Prep time is over, boys and girl!" You remind both teams tapping your earpiece, then turn back to the students. "Now let's see how they put their plans in motion!"

You know this is in fact, Mineta's suggestion, so it makes sense that he barely reacts to Walker putting her hand on his shoulder and reducing him to the size of your action figures.

The class itself isn't so calm, however.

>"She can shrink?.." Kirishima asks.
>"You are really lucky to have let her stunned, buddy." Ashido says poking him with her elbow. "Had it be me, you'd be at least 20 centimeters shorter until it wears off."
>"It doesn't." Bakugo says.
>"What?" You can't distinguish who were the ones that asked it, but the shock in everyone's faces is obvious.
>"The pants never grew back, I checked." Bakugo explains.
>"At lunch, she said it never goes away." Iida confirms, nodding.
>"If she gets her hands on you, you stay that way until she decides to undo it herself." Bakugo points out.
>"Oh my." Jiro says, before shaking her head and pointing back to the screen. "I mean, look at that. They are climbing to the roof."
>"...Mineta's quirk has some great utility doesn't it?" Sero asks, pointing at the ball holding the rope in place. "Those things will get anything stuck in place, if he can get them on anyone, it's game over. You'd be a sitting duck, for Walker or anyone else."
>"Anyone getting hit with that shit was already a sitting duck." Young Bakugo retorts.

It seems to have worked, they are still talking, but they are no longer at each other's throats. Still, with their eyes on the lesson they may be able to-

'...would literally smother me to death!'... You hear from your earpiece.

Shit, lad. You pinch the bridge of your nose and try to make sure the class doesn't see your face. You know how teenagers are sex-crazed maniacs, but they shouldn't act like they'd try humping a plastic bottle for goodness sake!

If she drops him from that second story right now, you would only suspend the exercise and give her a light scolding.
>>
>"It will take more than black ice to get them, it seems." Young Iida comments. "They are avoiding the plates on the outside."
>"And wasting far too much time." Bakugo says, pinching the bridge of his own nose. "Just smash your way in already!"

...Right. Teaching. You are meant to do that now.

"This group was warned about collateral damage beforehand my boy. Undue damages bills incurred in combat are the main reason for starting agencies to fail, after all." You point out, thinking of a particular young hero who is facing the same issue… for practically that very same reason. "Can't have heroes causing greater havoc than the villains they are meant to stop, so keep that in mind. The flashier and more destructive quirks make for great shows on open areas, but as we have previously established..."
>"Most hero work happens inside." The whole class, minus young Bakugo, Uraraka and the absent Midoriya repeats.
"<Good Job!> Most of the strongest heroes, myself included of course, must more often than not worry more about gauging how much force is needed to subdue the villain rather than whether or not it can be-."

>"Owh!" You look over the cringing faces of the class, then back to the screens.

...Mineta and Walker are suddenly on the fourth floor, having fallen victim to the collapsing roof the villains rigged. Rattled and a bit scary,

>"...That was a shitty trap." Bakugo complains. "No one got harmed and it blew open an entrance."
>"That wasn't the point." Yaoyorozu explains, frowning at the screens. "We don't have audio, but that would tell Todoroki and Tokoyami where to look for the heroes."
>"Still a mistake. Now Briskets and the midget get to plan the encounter." Young Bakugo says.
>"They are hiding by the door now…. No matter who's fighting, the first hit will shape the match, wont it?" Young Kirishima asks.
>"Whoever strikes first, hits twice, and whoever hits twice, has already won." Bakugo replies.
>"Guys? I can't see what they are doing." Kaminari complains. "They are too tiny..."

Whatever is going to happen, should happen about now, with Endeavor's son entering the rubble covered room. '..Have you left already?' You hear young Todoroki through your earpiece. 'Or are you hiding?'

>"...Did he step on something?" Ashido asks, watching the ice covered boy stumble forward.
>"Oh no..." Kaminari says, covering his mouth.

Well, you can't blame them for worrying, but the screen proves them wrong instantly.

Walker's form grows from a few centimeters to almost twice your own height in an instant, lunging with one open hand to… Capture young Todoroki, you guess.

Not done writing, so I'll keep ya posted, Ok?

But the instant she reveals herself, he raises his left hand and encases the cubic meter in front of him in solid ice, making a barrier that would have stopped an assault from a smaller opponent, but Walker's hulking frame just goes above it, letting her close her hand around his torso.

At this scale you can see how the instant she activates her quirk, a shockwave of white vapour emerges from young Todoroki's frame as he is shrunk, before being pulled in and absorbed by her skin.
He doesn't just stand there however, firing off a blast of ice and frigid air that hits Walker at point blank, encasing her pants, vest and gloves in ice and frost.

>"Man, Mineta is getting all the cool sights." Kaminari comments, as the cameras only show Walker's three point stance from the side.
>"Zip it man, he just got frozen in place." Sero scolds him. "...Not that he deserved it though, he can't be that bad if she's never raised a hand against him."

'Woah.' You hear young Mineta say.
Yes. He is enjoying the view, no doubts about it.
>"Is it just me or does she look like she's about to eat hi-Ow!" Young Kaminari continues until Asui's tongue slaps him.
>"No. None of that." She says. "People taste gross anyway. Ribbit."
>"Actually, I'm sure she just took off Todoroki's earpiece." Yaoyorozu points out.
>"Sure. Briskets is just drooling and rubbing his face off for pure and innocent reasons." Bakugo mocks before turning to Kaminari. "But you are into some weird shit."
>"...She just likes humiliating people." Young Uraraka remarks to the shock of every other student present.
>"...That's way too harsh for me to believe, sorry." Iida says a few seconds later.

She is not drooling at all, but her expression is a red domino mask from what Kayama's looks like on a good day. Which is honestly worrying on it's own right…
You shake the memory away and continue your observation.

But then her smile stops and drops, with the same speed you'd do if aflame.
'Shoto? Are you okay?' She asks her captive. Without his own earpiece, you are stuck listening to only her side of the conversation.
'That's… not gonna happen, and I reckon you know it too.' She says, replying to the unknown as the frost creeps up her sleeve.
'You are freezing…' She starts before being interrupted, then continues '...But not burning. Them coins don't melt easy, so I reckon you'd have welded my glove to my charred hand by now if you wanted.' You are at a loss here, but it's a good point. The boy hasn't used his fire side at all.
'But hurting yourself is okay?' Is… is she going to try it on her first battle?.. Well, mock battle, anyway. That looks like frostbite in the works. I'm not going to watch you do this to yourself.

She is! She is actually going to talk down the villain!

>"She has the tape in hand now, Todoroki is down." Yaoyorozu summarises.
>>
>"He's less than 20 centimeters tall and in the enemy's grasp. Literally." Says young Jiro, pointing out the obvious. "This is a formality at most."
>"Just what the fuck is going on now!?" Young Bakugo asks as the ice covered forms of Todoroki and Walker return to their normal sizes. "She just went and opened herself for an attack!"
>"Some sort of honor duel, mayhaps?" Yaoyorozu offers as an explanation.

'Take a breather, soldier boy.' You hear Walker say as she wraps the capture tape around Todoroki… With a hug, calming him down. You just barely manage to maintain your trademarked smile as the full video, audio and image, pulls at your heartstrings.

>"Aw..." Hagakure says."...Wait, does this mean they are together?"

Then the room is overtaken by a combination of groans and sighs before settling in on an uncomfortable silence.

>"There is nothing to be assumed from the embrace given to a shivering man." Shoji says calmly..
>"I'm not convinced until they announce they are dating." Kaminari says. "It's just window shopping until then, right?"
>"While it may have been said in better ways, that's nonetheless the truth." Young Iida adds as Yaoyorozu nods. "There is no formal compromise until a confession is made."
>"Okay then!" Jiro cuts off. "Can we go back to the match?"
>"Tokoyami is still guarding the warhead and Briskets still rubbing her cuts on Todoroki. Not much to comment about." Bakugo says, to the confusion of most.
>"Not cool, man." Replies young Kirishima, shaking his head. "Not cool."

...Basically everyone but Kirishima and Yaoyorozu look as lost as you are.

>"...You lot need a grill."
>"Or a curved knife, meatsaw, and a fresh kill. You'll get the implication either way." The girl asserts, leaving you and everyone just as confused as you were.

However, you shake it off the moment your earpiece receives Walker voice again 'I'll be done here in five.' She tells him. 'Then we can watch the other matches with some hot cocoa and a blanket.'

Many full fledged heroes fail to grasp the simple virtue whose blooming seed you are seeing here.
Mercy is not Compassion.
Letting a misdemeanants go on their word to not do it again is merciful.
Sitting with them on the park for half an hour over a sandwich, listening and giving advice is compassionate, and in your professional opinion, truly heroic.

You may no longer be able to do the second, as much as it pains you to no longer be able to send youths to speak with Mr. Yagi for a job, but seeing kids whose conception of heroics doesn't start and end at 'beat the bad dudes' makes you think back to the words of your fellow heroes and teachers.

'I never said it was for the cold.' You hear her say as she pulls back with a comforting smile.

Yeah, you'll like it here, you think as you turn away from the students.

>"So she finally left him. I knew he'd get her to snap." Jiro comments, as the screens let you see Walker abandon her teammate .
>"WAY TO GO BRISKETS! AHAHA!" As Young Bakugo cheers your vision snaps back to the screen.

...In which you see Walker dash back to the room where she left Mineta and Todoroki, pulling an ice axe out of her belt and swinging it at the shrunken form of young Mineta.
In an instant, your finger is on your earpiece, ready to interrupt if she actually snapped.
Luckily for everyone involved, she just crouches and starts carefully chopping away at the ice restraining her teammate.

>"Just leave it there! You are going to lose by timeout for fuck's sake!" Bakugo says, clawing at the air.
>"Is he, like, cheering for her?" Sero asks, looking around. "I thought he just wanted to beat the stuffing out of her."
>"I don't know about you, but I'm kind of feeling like chopped liver." Jiro asks. "I mean, we are here too."
>"Welcome to my life." Hagakure replies, shaking her fists in front of her face. …You think.
>"I'm not just going to beat her, I am going to pound her." The ashen blonde boy says, cracking his knuckles with a smile on his face..

For a hands based emitter, that's a terrible habit. Even worse than repeating himself with synonyms for emphasis. But having heard about the incident the previous day, you can understand his desire for revenge, even if you can't condone it. Hopefully, their studies here at U.A should provide a healthier outlet than a backstreet brawl, or at least a future exercise should pit them against one another in a safe environment.

Still, got to talk to Hound Dog and Midnight about this all.

>"...Hate to agree with Dukes, but she really should cut her losses and left him there." Jiro says. "She's running out of time."
>"For real. He can't pull his own weight! Literally!" Ashido says. "And why is she returning him back to normal if she'll have to carry him anyway?"
>"First, I'm fairly sure the reason Todoroki couldn't dodge was because of his quirk, didn't you see how she left his boots when she shrunk him? If he needs to throw those things, they'll need the range." Young Kirishima starts.
>"Makes sense..." Ashido replies, motioning for him to continue.
>"And second! No true man leaves a man behind!" He says grinning. "Ever!"
>"She's not a man, bud." She leaves her smile fall and replies. "She's the girl you felt up."
>"Any chance you just forget that ever happened?"
>"Not until you 'man up' and apologise. I can picture her diary, it reads 'First day of school in Japan, broke a few bones and got fondled. I love it here!' and then a heart doodle."
>"...No need to be so brutal, Mina. Can't I just… get her an 'I'm sorry' plushy and call it a day?"
>"You are better than that, Eiji." She says, then dons a cheeky smile. "Besides, if she hasn't said anything she might have liked it~"
>"You are mean, Pinks."

>"He's gonna!.." Young Kaminari pumps his fists as the tiny form of Mineta falls forward and almost into Walker's ample cleavage… before crashing face first into a surprisingly long lived ice sheet. "Ouch. Props for the effort though."

>"...Did she just strap him to her back?" Jiro asks as the camera shows Young Mineta stuck back to back. "At least that should keep him looking away."
>"Now she's going head first into the frozen stairs!" Hagakure… It's hard to judge, but you think she is covering her face.
>"Maybe Tokoyami will get to fight after all." Sero comments. "I kinda want to see what he can do."

'We are running blindly into the dark, so I'll need you to watch my back. You hear Young Walker say through your earpiece. Not a bad move kid, but with Tokoyami just standing alone in front of the warhead, your biggest concerns should be the timer and covering as much ground as possible in what little time you have left.

'You realize you are going to run downstairs in the dark, right?' Her partner asks back.
'Not gonna run. I can do better.' She answers, slamming the pick of her ice axe on the wall and quickly sliding downstairs, gouging small bits of concrete as the goes, then after a brief exchange, licks her thumb.

Or she can do that and win back entire minutes of stair climbing, you guess.

>"That was pretty cool." Sero says. "Can't be easy with the extra weight on her back."
>"There shouldn't be any wind in there, so she must be trying to get a read on the temperature." Yaoyorozu points out. "With the warhead encased and the windows covered in black ice, they might still win if they deduce the coldest room has the bomb."
>"Did anyone else notice her tongue is tipped?" Kaminari asks, much to the confusion of everyone else, including you. "What?"
>"You are watching Brisket's tongue?" Young Bakugo asks. "Out of… everything else?"
>"Not instead. And." He replies.
>"Can you be less uncouth in your ogling, at least?" Iida pleads.
>"She's cute and free. I'll take my chances." Kaminari replies with a shrug.
>"...Why didn't they use the flashlight on the stair..?" Jiro starts asking before letting the word hang as she stares at the screen.
>"Here comes Mount Lady two point oh." Sero jabs as Walker and Mineta grow to massive size with a small white shockwave.

'KNOCK! KNOCK!' You hear Walker's shout at full volume in your earpiece, almost making you flinch. But there's never a bad time for a knock knock joke! Even as she takes her axe to the wall.

>"Action, finally!" Young Bakugo cheers.
>"One does have to wonder how will Mount Lady react to her." Shoji ponders outloud as the wall is torn apart. "Being able to go inside buildings gives Walker a massive advantage on flexibility."
>>
You bury the dread that invoking the name of the United States in a knock knock joke in Japan causes you.

'Open up the country?.. Stop… having it be closed? Walker ends with a shaky voice.
'You blew it.' Young Mineta tells her, and you can't help but agree.
A reference to the black ships is in bad taste, but nothing beyond the expected of a Japanese-American. So you count your blessings and are thankful that she didn't deliver any nuclear powered punchlines.

>"Good thing she can grow, because I'm pretty sure that thing was smaller yesterday." Sero comments, pointing at the oily black creature emerging from young Tokoyami's abdomen.
>"He's just posing dramatically! That's battle spirit!" Kirishima says, apparently missing the point and looking at Tokoyami himself.
>"Go ahead. Make a reference" Ashido continues. "I dare you. See what happens."
>"I had forgotten she even brought a whip." Hagakure comments as both Walker and Tokoyami stare at each other, with the former fiddling with her whip's grip.
>"Her quirk would guarantee her a victory at melee almost every single time." Yaoyorozu explains. "So she would only use a weapon if out-ranged."
>"I just thought it was to finish the... you-know look." Hagakure says, using her gloves to make… horns? Damn isn't this girl hard to read. "You know, moo."
>"You somehow made it worse than just calling her a cowgirl." Jiro says. "The outfit would give you an excuse."
>"Americans are weird. I've always been called a frog. Ribbit." Asui butts in. "Barely any problems with it too."
>"They have a thing with racism" Yaoyorozu tries to explain. " I don't get it either. We are all japanese, that's all there is to it."
>"..."

Then the stand off breaks, with boths sides attacking in a flash.

As Walker's oversized whip flies at Tokoyami's face, his quirk lands a solid punch to her head, hard enough for you to hear the the impact and to send her hair aflutter, but Young Walker endures the hit with gritted teeth. The whip strikes true as well, tearing a path of broken feathers on the boy's head before tearing a long opening in his cloak, and while the cracker never touched his eye, young Tokoyami keeps his right eye closed.

>"That looks like it hurts" Hagakure comments "After Midoriya and Bakugo last match, it looks like everyone is made of steel or something."
>"They aren't backing down. None of the three." Yaoyorozu says looking intently at the fight.
>"What's the midget doing anyway?" Young Bakugo asks, then comments as the action unfolds "Not that it matters. Briskets is pouncing, so she'll shrink him down to her liking and capture him. Game Over, you both jobbed."

'Mineta, do your thing! Get him fixed on the spot!' The american says, adjusting her stance to maximize her reach with one hand while leaving the opposite shoulder low, allowing her rider an acceptable throwing angle. 'On it!' He replies, complying without hesitation.

While not to the level you expected at the start, it looks like teamwork will still be a decisive factor on this match.

Then, as as if to show how easily the tides of battle can turn, young Tokoyami takes off his damaged cloak, leaving him in his black sleeveless shirt, and uses it to swat at Mineta's volley, catching the basketball sized balls in the air before any can reach him, then throws away the ruined fabric, leaving it stuck to a wall.
>>
>>2031300
>"Americans are weird. I've always been called a frog. Ribbit." Asui butts in. "Barely any problems with it too."
I didn't know Asui was french.
>>
He looks emaciated, with practically every joint pronounced and only lean muscle keeping it together…
But with the shadow beast that his quirk manifests grappling with Walker's enormous frame, his one eye glare gleaming in the flashlight's shine and his crossed arms, he looks less like a teenager that just got hit on the head, and more like a risen onryō enacting his vengeance.

>"Well, damn." Sero is the first to speak. "...That's a lot of power being flung in one room."
>"The shadow doesn't have anything for Walker's quirk to affect." Young Yaoyorozu summarizes. "Not her best match up."
>"She can take a beating." Bakugo says.
>"..." The class waits for him to continue for a few seconds, until Jiro asks. "But..?"
>"No. That's all. He's gonna beat her ass." He explains, then leaves almost everyone. "But I prefer my round steak tender anyway."
>"Man, you are going from 'kabe-don' to 'looking up abandoned buildings' in record time." Kirishima says, shaking his head.

If not for your students in the same room watching with awe and attention… and discussing meats for some reason? You would have laughed. But not in mockery, but with mirth as it's a curious image to be cultivated by a hero, but it's being cultivated with dedication nonetheless.

As the shadow and Walker struggle, all can see girl's hands sputtering white, but not affecting the darkness in her grasp. 'Give me, like, a second. I got our backs.' You barely make out Mineta's words, but you can certainly see him reaching into her belt.

If you hadn't had heard him scheming, you'd be pretty angry at that.

It doesn't matter however, as Tokoyami's shadow pulls her in by her arms before giving her a headbutt hard enough to make her bandana drop and show her nervous expression.

Ushi has no self-aware ESS. She is too Texas.

She reminds me of the best description of Texas I've ever heard:

"Texas is your best friend. But it's the kind of friend that calls you at 2am to ask if it's okay to hook up with your ex. Or shows up unannounced to crash at your place for a few days with a 12-pack under it's arm as trade, but you put up with it's antics because Texas drove out in a rainstorm on a Tuesday night because your car broke down. And Texas has your back when nobody else does."

Forgot about that. Hence the wood skeleton. God, training with Endeavor is gonna be horrible. Our pyrophobia is gonna get so bad to the point of wrapping around the other end and become emotionally numb about it.

>>
>>2032114
My guess would be its treated like polygraph tests. Mostly considered as not very reliable, but admissible in court in most states.
>>
>>2032114
>are observed memories admissible evidence in court
I would hope not. You're not only trusting that the sole individual with said quirk is completely reliable and truthful, but it's also a MASSIVE violation of privacy to just go digging in a man's mind the moment he's even accused of a crime.
>>
>>2032120
>>2032123

>>
>>2032505
Actually, was mixed quirk, complacient, girl. Stron quirk and naive are bonus.
>>
>>2032507
That's kinda funny because that analysis is slightly off for Ushi, she's kinda forward as is. If Ushi can be considered complacent or naive, it's only because she misinterprets social cues or fucks up her response to them.
I know it's been talked about before, but damn a fire/ice quirk with a growth-shrink/wood skeleton quirk would probably have some really interesting combinations in the offspring.
Be honest with us Present Mic, how grueling and awful is Endeavor's training going to be? I doubt he'd deliberately set us on fire, barring dodge training, lest he alienate our mom, but short of that? I'm sort of expecting heavy endurance practice of physical activity and quirk usage to the point of borderline torture.

Present Mic, will you be creating functions for quirks without confirmed functions? I really wanna see if “mushroom” is as good as “frog”. I think her character design is super cute. I bet her bangs are so long because she doesn’t have eyes.

Also guys, since we have a good amount of time between posts, we really should try and use it to plan things out beyond which boys are cute.

Personally, I want to ask Momo to make us a carbon nanotube pole and some aerogel.

I’ve also had an idea for a special move. Much in the way we can send ourselves flying upwards by growing and shrinking quickly, we could do something similar by bracing against a wall or the ground and propelling ourselves forward, giving us a way to quickly close ground and get our hands on the villain. We could brace, grow, grab, and shrink, and it’d be fast travel.
>>
>>2033351
She has to understand an item in its entirety to create it iirc, I doubt she can just make carbon nanotubes.
>>
>>2033387
They’re a lot less complex than wood, or paint, but she made matryoshka. She made staged-spring-airbag shoes. She made a motorcycle.

Carbon nanotubes are literally just a mesh of carbon.

And if she can’t make aerogel we can order some online for 50 dollars and turn it into as much as we like.
>>
>>2033387
Are carbon nanotubes even that more complex than making a working motorcycle wholesale?
>>
>>2033400
Other things we should make sure to have, be it from momo, the school, or amazon:

A fire extinguisher: because fuck endeavor.

A bunch of vacuum-containing pellets. (For when we want to make a big pressure wave)

A tiny motorcycle?

Water.

Rations.

A gun?

Replacements for whatever our friends use.

Spare clothes.

First aid kit.

Blanket and teddy bear.

A sword?

You know how green arrow has truck arrows? We should have truck whips. Like an adhesive spider silk whip.

Stun grenades, tear gas grenades, smoke grenades in various colors for signalling and screening, flashbang grenades, stingball grenades, basically if it's a grenade and isn't designed to kill people, we should have at least a few of them, preferably like a dozen.
And numerous ways to rig them all up as traps.
Take advantage of how useful getting small actually is.
We look flashy, and our Quirk lets us get big, so villains expect a big, direct approach.
Then suddenly they're stumbling into stingball traps, setting off flashbangs in random places, coughing through a lungful of hippie repellent, and when they least expect it, we're right behind them like some sort of crazy Texan ninja.
Fighting hypothetical future Pro Ushi should be like fighting an insane hybrid of Chuck Norris, Sho Kosugi, and the kid from Home Alone.

I've been thinking about when we are potentially asked for our take on our performance. Here's my take.

Pop-off is a powerful quirk, when it lands. If truly nothing can come off of it without leaving a piece behind, then even All-Might would be in a pinch if he found his hands or feet stuck together. The problem is getting it to hit. Mineta should get a slingshot or air canon made the same way his gloves are.

His biggest weakness is his lack of focus. When his eyes are on the prize, he's pretty good.

Shoto's mistake was splitting off, and letting us pick a 2v1. If they had stuck together, with my current skill level and preparedness, there's nothing I could confidently do that's strong enough to win and precise enough to be safe with the bomb.

Tokoyami could probably have beaten us with a motorcycle helmet. Mineta can't really wear one and Shoto can make his own regenerating armor, and I can't put too much mass into armor or it will limit the mass I'm putting into my muscles. Though I am considering fireproof pockets on my hat for my horn. But Tokoyami should consider taking a more active role alongside Dark Shadow.

And renaming him.

I'm not sure what I need to do differently,it's hard to get perspective on yourself.
>>

Well, that's about the size of it. I'm ok with this response if asked.

As the enormous flashlight crashes against the floor and Walker flinches from the impact, you hear young Tokoyami's voice 'Well well, we won't be needing this anymore. Dark Shadow, kill the light.' he says, full of confidence, as his shadow lets go of the girl and clutches the fallen tool, crushing it like an empty tin can.

With the only source of white light in the room gone, all the cameras show now is the young ones' outlines.

>"Yeah!" Sero shouts, pumping his fist. "What was that about a game over?"
>"Well, Dukes was right about something." Jiro "She's getting her ass handed to her."
"...It's impressive how the hat stays on, isn't it?" Hagakure comments out of the blue. "I mean, that last hit took down her mask, it has to have rattled her, right?"
>"Tokoyami's quirk is... amazing. Range, power and speed." Yaoyorozu lists. "Add to that how Walker's quirk has no effect on his, and I'll have to give it to Tokoyami. Even if she can keep up with him, time and lightning are on his side."

Someone else noticed, after all. 'That the dark shadowy monster in the dark room, summoned at the shout of 'Dark Shadow!' might have a dislike for light?' you remember the smug girl saying moments ago. You had hoped for it to be a coincidence, not that 'Dark Shadow's' strength was actually tied to illumination, but it's growth in the newfound darkness confirms that young Walker hit the nail on the head, and that unless Tokoyami aims for a low profile career like Aizawa's, he should address the need to refer to his quirk by name.

>"She may have lost the battle but-" Kaminari tries to speak.
>"Shut up and let it play out." Bakugo interrupts him. "It's hard enough to see anything already and I want to see how it flips back."
>"The tables already turned once" Kirishima points out. "There's time enough for a final assault! The hero's last chance against the immovable villain!"
>"It will take a feat of bravery or brilliant tactics." Iida comments, holding his chin between his index and thumb. "I wonder how will they do that."
>"They… Right, Mineta." Sero says "I forgot about him, doesn't really stand out as equipment."
>"Ouch. Don't forget about people." Hagakure lectures. "I bet that it'll be Mineta who turns it around."
>"No, really, shut the fu-" Bakugo says as your earpiece emits young Tokoyami's voice.

'Well... Less than a minute and the home advantage is mine again… You are in my world now, n-OOF!' You hear him go from a boastful sing song to a grunt, followed by the sound of his body hitting the floor and his lungs emptying, as a ropey-bumpy mass that you can only guess was Walker's net hits him and sends him crashing to the ground.

>"That's a throw! You were right!" Kirishima cheers, giving a thumbs up in Hagakure's direction.
>"-uUUCk! I just missed something, didn't I!?" Young Bakugo rages.
>"A net, I think..." Kaminari replies. "Place's stygian."
>"Tokoyami appears to be stuck to the floor." Iida points out.
>>
>"Still losing, guys." Yaoyorozu points out. "Remember how Tokoyami's shadow shrunk under the torchlight?"
>"No?"
>"Not really."
>"I must have missed it."
>Get on with it for fuck's sake!!!"
>"It's hard to see the shadow in the dark, but it looks be her size now..." Yaoyorozu lets the sentence draw out.
>"...And it was already beating Briskets into black and white" Young Bakugo finishes. "He can just wait her out or leave her soft and tender."
>"...Okay, I'm scared now." Kirishima says, before dragging Ashido off by the shoulder. "I'm cashing in that time you dis-"
>"Okay! Okay!" She says, covering his mouth. "I'll go, just shut up, okay?"

'...We just gotta put the tape around him and we'll win, right?' Young Walker's voice pulls you back to the screens. Her stance is slouching a bit, and her costume's outline has lost shape with the ice and debris, but she isn't shaking or stepping back, even as her words are slurrying. That's what enough blows to the head do to you, you don't need to be out cold to stop thinking straight.
'Don't do anything stupid. That thing looks like it could punch a speeding car into a stop bareclawed.' Her teammate tries to reel her in, in the same way you remember Nighteye used to try to make you leave the small things for other heroes and save your time.
'Ah got a plan! Don'tcha worry none!' She waves him off with the same ease you used to, meaning that it's closer to an outline. Or a simple 'A to B'. Or even more likely, 'A, then wing it".

Ah, the memories. You look up and let escape a slight chuckle at the young ones' antics.

Then Walker pulls out the loaf again, this time enlarging it to be… you estimate to be about half a meter long. It's a lot of bread… If that's edible, rescue and disaster relief specialists will be at each other's throats for her.

...But in the end, for as much power they can throw around, they are still kids, bringing food what looks to be a slugfest, right after being told to not do anything stupid.

>"The fuck is she doing?" Young Bakugo asks, and most of the class seems to think the same, as do you.
>"Well, I think she is holding the tape, and Tokoyami can't really dodge anymore." Yaoyorozu voices her thoughts. "If she can withstand the shadow and close in, they might still win."
>"...About the bread, Yaoyorozu." Jiro tells her.
>"Oh. No idea then."
>"She said her quirk made her hungry..." Sato suggests as an explanation. "Maybe she needs some carbs for the last round?"
>"Or she will try to bait Tokoyami or his shadow." Young Asui suggests. "It's what I'd do. Ribbit."
>"...Why?" Iida asks
>"Birds. Bread. It's simple." She replies motioning from left to right. "It might even work. Ribbit."
>"I don't think so." Iida replies. "I had been looking into it and Yaoyorozu is right, americans have a weird obsession with race and profiles. She wouldn't do anything that would paint her as racist back in america."

It's profoundly worse with quirks, those damn muties...
>>
>"She's japanese too, so she may be not care about it at all." Jiro finishes, just as Walker rams forwards and towards Tokoyami's restrained body.

With her head low, horns pointed at her foe and covering her face with the back of her fists, she runs straight, obviously prepared to withstand a frontal counterstrike from the shadow prepared to halt her on her tracks. 'Catch!' She shouts, flinging the loaf reminding you that you need to adjust your earpiece's volume and… actually getting the shadow to ignore her and follow the white bread.

How od-DARK SHADOW, STOP HER YOU BIRDBRAIN! Your earpiece shrieks in your ear as Walker closes in on Tokoyami, who desperately tries to slither off the net covering him. Yet in another show of force, Tokoyami's quirk performs an U-turn and punches her lower leg, causing her to fall forwards, on her knees and hands, a few meters short of her target, her capture tape flying off into the dark.

>"...She actually did it." Sero is the first to comment. "And almost got away with it."
>"Told you. Ribbit"
>"It worked." Young Yaoyorozu points out. "The shadow caught it and Tokoyami was almost captured, it just wasn't enough time."
>"Now the two high and mighty are incapacitated on the floor." Hagakure says in a sing song tone "Guess who's the only factor left~"
>"Briskets' literally lame backpack?" Young Bakugo snarks. "For all the good it does, with no capture tape, they are fucked."
>"There is not much to do but wait for the clock then." Sero summarises. "Good for Tokoyami, but kind of a bummer to watch."
>"...I guess Ushi doesn't really have a mutations taboo if she can pull that on Tokoyami." Jiro comments. "As long as she doesn't rub it on his face..."
>"She wore the texas navy flag yesterday. I think this is normal in the south?" Yaoyorozu ponders outloud.
>"...Does this mean I can call her cowgirl now?" Young Hagakure asks. "I mean, if she does it to others she shouldn't be self conscious about herself, right?"
>"She may. Not all mutations gain you friends, you know?" Asui asks. "And why cow anyway? Ribbit."
>"...Do you really need to ask why Briskets would pass as a cow?"
>"Because she has horns?" Hagakure replies dubiously.
>"They are wood, though." Iida says. "Pretty cute, but an accessory nonetheless."
>"...They are very real." Kirishima adds, wincing. "Still wood though."
>"You would know." Ashido says, then points at her own. "And horns mean nothing."
>"Okay! Fine! She probably can't see her feet." Hagakure says. "I doubt she has people problems."
>"'Can't see her feet' I think I'm choking on the irony." Sero replies, chuckling a second before stopping and changing to an unamused face. "Not cool, Hagakure."
>"It's literally her name, you idiots." Bakugo snarks.
>"Isn't Ushi just a shortening for Ushio?" Yaoyorozu asks.
>"Read the leaderboards, in yesterday's her name was just Ushi. Same on the entrance exam's." Kaminari says.
>"Oh." Young Yaoyorozu says. "That's... kind of sad."
>>
>>2036326
Can somebody who has seen the show explain what's going on with Kirishima and Ashido?
>>
>>2036339
They went to the same middle school, but I got no clue what's up with them here.
>>
>"She's Cow named Cow." Bakugo says, nodding smugly.
>"Briskets… I'm not taking the favor, Eiji." Ashido says, as her smile fades with the understanding of something. "Now I want to do it too."

'Your tricks won't help you anymore. Time-out will be any second no-' Come the first calm sounds in awhile through your ear- How did you know that would work!? Nevermind, they are shouting again… But you can't say they aren't giving it their all. You have to be passionate to shout at someone barely a couple of meters away.

And you too want to know how she did it. Guessing such an obscure weakness should have taken some impressive deductive reasoning, considering how Dark Shadow seems to have it's own awareness.

'You's bird. Thought you might go for it.' Comes Walker slogging reply.

… Or it could be plain old fashioned texan racism. You sigh and pinch the bridge of your nose. You like the gal, but she'll need to control her mouth if she wants to succeed in this business.

You've been there. Lovely place Texas, the whole country is. A great part of what shaped you into the man you are now you learned touring the states, particularly Rhode Island museum, before coming back home to Tokyo, in fact, you have even mentioned in interviews that you only name your Smashes based on place's you've been on. Though most don't know that would be most of the great US of A.

The whole place loves All Might, the red white and blue hero, who is treated with the utmost respect, even as a foreigner. Free stays, red carpet events and speeches at schools… To this day you still get calls from the ex-president every weekend.

Yagi Toshinori, unemployed trekking and hitchhiking japanese tourist, got to see the crudest parts of the country… Suffice to say that you learned quite a few slurs for your people. About thirty just between Michigan and Texas.

Well, she is still a kid, she may not know what she is doing, and even if she does, schools are for teaching, she showed great promise a few minutes ago.
You'll just have to move 'Heroic Morals and Ethics' a few classes earlier than planned and make some parts more evident…

>"You may want to see this." One of Shoji's tentacles says. "Tokoyami's thrashing is worse than ever before."

'Sure! Why the hell NOT! HERE, HAVE SOME HAY!! AIN'T IT FUNNY WALKER!?'... Well, that makes it banter.

>"See! pointy tongue!" Kaminari says as the image shows young Walker pulling the stuffing of a crate into her mouth and starts ruminating. "The whole… whoa. That's like… I don't know. Long."
>"Cow." Bakugo says, smirking. "... that's like half a meter of cow tongue. Proof enough for you all?"
>"And chewing on hay." Hagakure points out at the screen, showing the beaten girl chewing calmly. "You think she-"
>"No. Mammals don't work that way." Yaoyorozu cuts her out.
>"...Plenty of mutations can give a tail." Hagakure says timidly. "I wanted to ask her if she keeps a swishy tail hidden."

'Walker stop eating the hay!' Young Mineta chastises his partner, as he rolls with his belt off her back and next to Tokoyami, tying a discarded and crumpled piece of capture tape around his enemy's ankle.

>"What. The. Fuck." Bakugo says "The tiny bugger!?"
>"Tooold you..." Hagakure says, her gloved fist pumping in the air.

"HEROES WIN BY CAPTURE! THE HERO! TEAM! WIIIIINS!!!" You shout! In the end it was Young Mineta's efforts that won the match!

The boy has a good head over his shoulders and a powerful quirk to go along with it. If he just keeps his… How do the younglings call it this days… his thirst under control and practices his throws he could do just fine in combat, but he would most certainly work better in either a support role with his quirk and quick thinking giving his team an edge from the rear or as a quick hit and run hero like Aizawa, using his quirk to restrain the villains before they can react.

'...'s straw. Not a thing funny on it. Barely any carbs if anythin'... And I thought I had all the tape?' Walker explains. She doesn't sound angry, nor hateful. Only a tad tired, with her voice slurred by talking through a full mouth. Not a hint of malice in her.

Then it hits you. "HAHAHA!" You laugh as you go fetch the combatants, turning off the cameras but keeping the earpiece on this time.

Yes, she's deep south Texan as it can be.

But not the racist gun toting living caricatures you saw as their worst, but the kind that carried you from one end of the state to the other for no other thing than being a friendly fellow with some interesting tales to tell. The kind kind that if it asks you how come you can be a blonde blue eyed japanese is just asking out of curiosity. The boy who hears that you travel because you lost someone important and offers you a beer and a joke… Even if he was fifteen.
The brash, loud and rough around all the edges kind of person.

Kind of like the persona you built for yourself.

...Just got to work on keeping those pointy boots out of your mouth, kid.

You take a small detour before going to fetch the four students, which you find… Having snack time.

Tokoyami, his Shadow and Mineta are sitting on a clean dry patch on the floor eating toast, surrounded by Walker's still huge form laying on her side, chewing sleepily. Todoroki is leaning on her abdomen far from any other… more feminine area, petting her with one hand, and… Toasting a slice of bread with the other.
… Huh. Enji never managed to get the temp right. Whenever he got to yours it always got burnt.

>"All Might." Young Todoroki is the first to notice you, and you can't help but notice that most of his body is still encased in ice, even if he was just toasting bread. "...Do you want some toast? I am afraid we did not bring any drinks."

"Howdy… don't worry, there's plenty to go around… I always have…" Young Walker says, yawning. She too keeps her frosting. Heh.

"That's alright Young heroes, for I am fine." You tell them. "Let's go back with the rest of the class to hear your evaluations and critics."
>"You are late. We know you are faster… Everyone in the world knows that. Why?" Young Todoroki points out.
"And you are still frozen." You reply "Care to tell me why?"
"We are waiting. I brought blankets but..." The giant girls lets the phrase drag and die sadly.
"Well, for my part, I took a small detour by the teacher's room. I thought you may need this." You say, raising the plastic bag you brought with you, a tin of cocoa and a vacuum flask full of hot water. "I'm sure the other teachers won't mind me borrowing it." You lie through your teeth. It's one of the two things that keep Power Loader moving through the day, but with the other being teenage drama stories, you are sure you can make it up to him.

I was just thinking that Mineta would make a good Aizawa. A lot of quirks are focused on a particular body part, so he could, say, bind the hands of a hands based emitter, like ours, Ochako, or Bakugo, and his quirk works on mutants too.

What would have happened if we failed that face roll?

Power loader sounds like a cool guy.

Save this analysis for next thread. >>2035539

I feel like Ushi's attitude on mutations is that they're just like any other quirk. They have strengths and weaknesses, but anyone who thinks less of someone because of their quirk is a huge asshole.
>>
>>2036419
Oh, and you should save the conversation about what to make sure is in our utility belt for later too.

I've been thinking about special moves. Imagine if Ushi had a ball on a stick, like a lollipop. If she grew it huge, then shrank it in an instant, she could create a huge vacuum pocket and blast an area at a distance.

Hero name idea: Big Shot.

>high friction
Is that a euphemism that I haven’t heard before?
>>

No, he's referring to the fact that they yell at each other.
A lot.

>"...Okay, I'm scared now." Eiji says, grabbing your shoulder and pulling you with him as he steps away from the rest of the class. "I'm cashing in that time you dis-"

You cover his mouth with your hand the instant you understand what he's about to say.
It took you some time to get the hang of your quirk's throttle, and there were a few… incidents along the way. But no one else needs to know that!

>"Okay! Okay!" You tell him, shaking his hand off your shoulder and following him willingly. "I'll go, just shut up, okay?"

You just walk a dozen meters away, since that's all the room is allows you.

>"First off, the favor was for your silence, not the jacket. And second, what's so important that you are cashing it now." You ask your horn buddy.
>"...It's not important. I don't think… I hope it's not, really." He replies, then sighs
>"You okay, Eiji? Your 'macho' is slipping..."
>"Because I know how weird this is gonna sound!" He explains
>"Just get on with it!"
>"I'm going to tail her home and I want you to come with me." He bursts out.
>"Yeah..." You reply, scratching the back of your neck. "That's kinda creepy. You sure yesterday was an accident?"
>"Sure, I just went and molested her and now I'm asking the only person here I know to help me stalk her." He snarks, slouching forwards and leveling your eyes. He is completely unamused.
>"Well, you did make it sound weird." You defend yourself. "But why do you need my help? Why even tell me?"
>"Because I'm not going to stalk her. I want to make sure she gets home safe." He explains. "And I'll need you there because you can vouch for me if something happens, right, horn buddy?"
>"I've got your back." You reassure him. "But I'm pretty sure she can take down anything short of a full blown villain."
>"...Yeah. It's just that…" He takes a deep breath and starts explaining. "This Bakugo guy? I'm sure he must be a great guy on some level, and I admire his drive, really! But what he's been saying… I just want to make sure I'm right, he just likes to shittalk! ...and she won't end end on tomorrow's news."
>"Geez… It's just an angry guy trying to 'claim' a girl that probably hates his guts. And meat puns."
>"Specific cuts, Mina." He says, looking really serious for steak-talk. "It's all about the specific cuts and.. preparation preferences."
>"I… have no idea of anything you two talked about." You sincerely explain. Your culinary expertise starts with milk and cereal and ends at salads. "All know is that brisket is beef and that's pretty much it."
>"Well, it was bad. And if there's a chance I'm wrong..." He clenches his fist which becomes sharp and angular. "I couldn't forgive myself if I didn't act."
>"You are blowing this way out of proportion, but you found your 'macho' again." You tell him, then shrug. "I'm in, but we are doing this my way."
>"And what's Pinks' expert method?"
>>
>"How about instead of creeping, we just go upfront and ask her 'Hey there classmate, mind if we come over? We can go buy take out dinner, we'll pay!' or something like that." You say, using an overly chipper tone for emphasis. "And by 'we' I mean you."
>"I knew I could count on you." He tells you grinning.
>"And I'm telling you you worry over nothing, but free dinner and watching whatever she'll ask for her forgiveness sounds great." You half reassure him, half mock him. "Now quit your worrying before your hair goes black and droppy."
>"You are right. I guess we'll be taking the train today?"
>"Sure. But let's get back to the group for now. They are making noise."

The class is indeed making noise… Since you don't exactly get what the hell is going on anymore. Thanks, Kirishima.

>"...Do you really need to ask why Briskets would pass as a cow?" Bakugo says, calling Walker a cut of meat again. Though you can see his point… they are kind of hard to miss.
>"Because she has horns?" Hagakure replies with an obvious excuse. What does having horns that have to do with anything?
>"They are wood, though." Iida says. "Pretty cute, but an accessory nonetheless."
>"...They are very real." The horn fondler himself explains, wincing. "Still wood though."
>"You would know." You jab at him, then point at your own horns. "And horns mean nothing."
>"Okay! Fine! She probably can't see her feet." Hagakure finally confesses. "I doubt she has people problems."
>"'Can't see her feet' I think I'm choking on the irony." Sero replies, chuckling a second before stopping and changing to an unamused face. "Not cool, Hagakure."
>"It's literally her name, you idiots." Bakugo snarks, apparently missing the difference between a nickname and a given name.
>"Isn't Ushi just a shortening for Ushio?" Yaoyorozu asks, like the smartest person in the room she is.
>"Read the leaderboards, in yesterday's her name was just Ushi. Same on the entrance exam's." Kaminari replies, and there is nothing to say about it.
>"Oh."Yaoyorozu says. "That's... kind of sad."

Except that. That's a good summary. This is japan, everything has a meaning… but calling a girl Cow?..

>"She's Cow named Cow." Bakugo says, nodding smugly…

And so it hits you.

Pound, cow, tender round steak, beef...

>"Briskets… I'm not taking the favor, Eiji." You tell him, as your smile fades away."Now I want to do it too."

Not fully understanding it only makes it worse.
The innuendo is bad enough, but you need to actively think of something other than butc-
Nope, nope, nope not going back the rabbit hole.

Well, you'll be helping pay after all, so you busy your mind recalling any and all good takeout place's you know of in Musutafu.

Then making note of which ones are based around beef just to be sure.

>"See! pointy tongue!" Kaminari's voice pulls you out of your own head.
>>
>"Cow." Bakugo says, smirking. "... that's like half a meter of cow tongue. Proof enough for you all?"

You really hope Kirishima is right, and there is a nice guy beneath the anger and creepiness.
But if he knew her mutations made her part cow, and he nicknamed her Briskets, and keeps going at the butchershop innuendo… You can't blame Eiji for having having doubts.
The guy wasn't really stable on his own match...

>"And chewing on hay." Hagakure points out at the screen, showing the beaten girl slowly chewing.

She looks adorable.
You kind of want to pet her and brush her.
Maybe get her a sugarcube?
No, wait, those are horses…
A salt lick maybe?..
You mentally reduce all your options to sushi.
Today's lunch had fish in it, so she must be able to eat that, right?

>"You think she-" Hagakure tries to ask before Yaoyorozu cuts her off.
>"No. Mammals don't work that way." She says, but you also know that human scleras shouldn't be black, so mother nature seems to turn a blind eye towards mutations.
>"...Plenty of mutations can give a tail." Hagakure lies, timidly trying to disimulate her real question.

You can see right through her!

>"I wanted to ask her if she keeps a swishy tail hidden."

...Somehow, everyone but Yaoyorozu just nods and carries on.
Well, if everything goes according to plan, you'll be asking your new gal pal in her home.
She shouldn't be as self conscious about it there!
