Before Joseph could say any further comments, a tall, white haired man with a weird hairstyle comes over to your table.

"Excuse me, do you have a moment? I'm a tourist from France, and i'm having a hard time reading the Kanji from the menu. Could you please help a guy out here?"

"You're annoying. Go away." Jotaro angrily replies to the man interrupting the conversation, which seems to take him by surprise.

"Hey now, Jotaro. It's alright." Joseph tries to lighten the mood in a friendly tone while the white haired man places his menu on the table for Joseph to pick it up.

"I have been to Hong Kong many times, so i dont really have an issue with reading the Kanji on the menu. Why don't you join us?" Joseph invites the frenchman to the table, to which he complies, sitting down on the chair to your left.

"Well hello there, madame. Is there any particular a young girl like you would seem to be accompanying these men?" He speaks over to you with a confident smile on his face.

The way he worded that question seems a bit weird... Then again, it's probably a bit weird for a young girl to always stay close to 4 tall men with muscular builds too. But taking in consideration what Gray Fly said about Dio's minions, you cant put too much trust on strangers here.

"These are my friends." You say back to the man. "We're currently on a field trip."

"Oh, i see." The man replies. "Well, given their appearance, you seem to be in good hands. So i hope you have a nice staying here in Hong Kong."

Joseph seems happy with you also being friendly to the frenchman, while Jotaro seems to still be somewhat weary of him.

After ordering something on the menu along with Joseph, the man patiently waited for his food to arrive with all of you.

The food Joseph ordered earlier arrives after a few minutes, with the man's order arriving soon after.

"I know the dishes seem a bit weird. But trust me! No matter what you order here, the food's still delicious. All right, everyone, feel free to dig in. It's all on me!" Joseph says while eating some of the rice porridge on his right.

The food does look unnapealing, especially that dish with frogs on it. But if Joseph said it was fine, you might as well try some of it out...

Protein is protein. Plus, they wouldn't serve anything that would kill people at an upscale restaurant, right?

can we just... politely refuse? blame our lack of appetite on recent happenings? cause that really doesn't look appealing

if not, then... rice porridge, I guess. Or, if we brought something like crackers or chocolate, can we have our stand convert it to something less likely to upset our stomach?

The whole point of traveling abroad is to broaden one's horizons. You're not getting your money's or time's worth if you retreat back to your comfort zone every time you encounter some kind of unfamiliar food or weird cultural practice. Plus, everyone's going to be traveling to all sorts of foreign countries on the way to Cairo. Better to get used to it now and learn how to adapt to the unknown.

As disgusting as it looks, you suppose that eating different kinds of food is a big part of traveling, so you cant be really picky on what you eat out here.

You daringly pick up one of the roasted frogs from the dish and take a small bite out of it's legs.

To your surprise, It doesnt taste any different from white meat, somewhat resembling the taste of chicken wings. To be honest, it's actually pretty tasty.

"Well, it's pretty good right?" Joseph asks after seeing the group trying out the dishes.

"Yeah. It ceirtainly took a lot of time to prepare this." The frenchman says after eating a bit of the stewed fish. "I mean, just look at these carrots. They're all shaped like stars. Boy, this reminds me of something..."

Everyone of your traveling buddies turned their attention to him after saying that. Does that mean what you think it means?...

"Oh, that's right! Someone i know has this exact star mark on their necks..." He continues, placing the star shaped-carrot in his neck.

> "So you're a stand user?"

Let's at least try to get some kind of advantage over him before we attack
Also, I wonder if we can do a giorno-style healing thing by absorbing flesh, packing gauze or something into a wound, and turning it into flesh? Something to experiment with
>>
>>2061790
That's a little difficult. A wound heals via the body sequentially creating cells that eventually form tissue, which includes blood vessels and a lot of other stuff.

Karma Chameleon converting gauze to flesh would be equivalent to getting a can of spam and stuffing the meat into the wound and calling it a day. Doesn't seem possible to do healing with KC unless it develops further and can do more complex things.

"Another stand user?..." Avdol murmurs to himself in disbelief.

"I think I met the same guy, actually." You say back to the man with a smug smile. "Blonde, doesn't do well in Sunlight? We didn't get along very well."

The frenchman looks dead in your eyes as you speak back to him.

"Hah! It's always fun when a girl has a sense of humor. It's a shame i'll have to bring you down along with your friends."

He's quick to summon his stand: A thin, robotic humanoid clad in medieval armor, armed with a cup-hilted rapier in his right hand.

"My name is Jean Pierre Polnareff. My stand holds the chariot card. Silver Chariot. Hitomi Furuya, isnt it? It appears to me that you wish to die first. So be it."

"Don't even try it! You're at a disavantage here. Go away or else!" You reply back to Polnareff, which doesnt seem intimidated in the slightest by your remark.

"I am aware of that. The same way i am aware of your stand's ability to mimic objects and their properties by touching them. Surely a 1 versus 5 wont end well for me, but i believe in fair fights. So why dont we set this down on a duel? We can even do this outside so you have more objects to absorb, we dont want to ruin the restaurant afterall..."

"He can't be serious" Jotaro says after hearing Polnareff's speech.

"Are you sure you're up for fighting him? I can take care of him if you wish--" Avdol asks you before being interrupted by Polnareff.

"Don't try to sway Hitomi. This is a decision she has to make for herself. So, what do you say?"

>Accept his challenge.

>Accept his challenge. But someone else will fight in your place. (Specify)

>"I refuse." (Attack him here)

>"I refuse." (Attack with everone's stands at once.)
>>
>>2061790
Certainly a neat idea, but definitely too complex for people. Fixing objects by making them more malleable and then reverting them once they're in the proper shape, though, there's an idea.

Also, this guy seems to be at least a little bit of a lady's man. Odds are if we don't sucker-punch him he'll be all too happy to give us the first move, possibly even go easy on us, which would be his downfall.
>>
>>2061809
>>Accept his challenge.
Here we go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fk9vyp_YijQ
>>
>>2061809
>Accept his challenge.

With the caveat that if anyone besides him shows up and interferes, we reserve the right to dogpile him instead of fight 1v1 in sequence.
>>
>>2061809
>Accept his challenge.
This'll be tough. Karma Chameleon may be a close range stand, but I'm not sure if it can actually trade blows with Silver Chariot. I guess this will be a good opportunity to see if we can convert his stand to something we can exploit.
>>
>>2061834
Supporting. Also, I say we absorb the hardest metal we can find, then eventually try to absorb his sword/armor as our defense.
Also our two lower hands should do that upside down pose that Za Hando does, while our upper two are more like a fighting stance. It'd look cool as shit.
>>
>>2061848

This might be a fight where we'll have to try and attack Polnareff directly and mislead him into thinking that we're just going to be attacking his stand. Kinda like what Avdol did.

We already know that Polnareff can't use Silver Chariot to attack anything that he can't see directly, and that while a stand might be nearly invulnerable, their user still needs to do stuff like breathe and other stuff. That may be the key to winning here, since Silver Chariot is fast and capable of carving/slicing through rock.
>>
>>2061848
I kinda realize, OOC, that we'd be better off trying to let Avdol fight and make a hot tag in phase 2, but IC we might still have a chance.

>>2061851
>>2061867
Again, since he's demanding a duel, he might let us armor up first before attacking. Our best bet may actually be to try to take something metallic from the restaurant, like our cutlery, as an option. Stainless steel should keep him from penetrating unless he keeps attacking the same spot repeatedly.
>>
>>2061873

One thing we could do is grab some packets of stuff in the restaurant while we're waiting, like chili powder, salt, and pepper; or say that we're going to go to the bathroom and grab soap, water, etc. If Armadillo shells covered in natural oil can deflect a mounted machine gun's bullets in the JoJo-verse, then metal covered in grease/soap can probably do a good job of ensuring that Silver Chariot's piercing rapier won't find enough purchase to deal a lot of damage.

We could try converting the ground that Polnareff stands on to water or some other greasy substance to bamboozle him, and possibly cause him to retract SC to try and lift him out of it or waste time sputtering while he's trying to swim out. If we create a lot of dust clouds by throwing rocks and tempting/baiting him into slashing stuff, we can easily turn that into an extremely irritating yet largely harmless cloud of pepper or chili powder.
>>
>>2061898
Putting it all together, we could easily stash away a pepper shaker, which gives us glass (which if slashed up and turned into razor-sharp shards would make for nasty spikes to avoid on the field), pepper (chemical warfare. Even if we can't turn an object into it, we could always chuck the stuff into his face) and a stainless steel cap (super defense!).

You confidently say to him after a brief moment, considering your options.

"Jean Pierre Polnareff, I accept your challenge!--"

"Hitomi, don't fall for it!" Joseph tries to convince you otherwise, before being interrupted as well. Only this time, by yourself.

"On one condition." You finish your statement, making Polnareff raise an eyebrow (The spots where his eyebrow should be, at least.) "If anyone besides you shows up and interferes, we deserve the right to dogpile him instead of fight 1v1 in sequence."

"Smart girl." Polnareff compliments your foresight. "Fine, but the same goes for your friends. There's no need to worry about that on my side, though. I've always worked better off alone. Now, follow me."

He exits off the restaurant and leads you and your group to a weird garden with some weird animal sculptures.

"The Tiger Balm Garden?" Kakyoin says after arriving at the place.

"I figured an open space with different sort of materials would give you plenty of options." Polnareff says "Bring out your stand and absorb anything you like, i'd be ready when you are."

>Look for good materials to absorb.

Try to get something super spicy or peppery as suggested above. Tossing rocks that he'll slash apart, only to get a faceful of chili oil or horseradish, would be dope.

>Ask Joseph if he saved anything of worth from the restaurant.

Joseph probably had the same idea as us with regard to finding something useful for us to absorb. If anyone would be able to toss us something useful, it'd be him. As sad as it is to say, us and Avdol probably have the best chances of beating him right now. We're the joker, and Avdol could probably burn down the entire park if he had to ensure a hit. Joseph's Hermit Purple still ultimately relies on him and wouldn't be fast enough, and Star Platinum could probably hit Polnareff or even Silver Chariot, but hell if it can block that sword effectively. Lastly, Hierophant Green could in theory kite Chariot and keep blasting at both him and Polnareff, but he'd be cut to shreds if cornered.

You walk around the place for a while and placing your hand on different sculptures to feel what they're all made of.

The possible materials to absorb werent much more than you expected: Marble,stone,concrete,ceramic,...gold and silver?

As weird as it sounds, you manage to find a statue of two monkeys plated with gold and silver, that surely will help a lot fighting that Silver Chariot of his...

While there are a lot of hard materials to absorb, you havent really tried to use anything soft against an enemy, and with your ability to transfuse materials, using something soft against Polnareff will probably something he's not expecting from you...

"Joseph! Did you save some food from the restaurant?" You ask him from a distance.

"You bet i did! That food was expensive, i wouldnt let it all go to waste like that!" He says while taking a bag from his coat.

After getting close to the old man, you noticed that other than some leftovers from the roasted fish, the bag is full of empty dishes, cutlery and food condiments, including mustard, peper, salt and ketchup, all neatly packadged for the taking.

Was he already planning on you wanting to absorb this?

"Are you done yet? This is starting to get boring." Polnareff says in the distance.

"What's it gonna be, Hitomi?" Joseph whispers to you, awaiting your reply.

Steel is harder, but gold is so heavy that he's got no chance of overpowering it. More importantly, if we somehow get a hand on him or his stand, we can turn said limb into gold, severely weighing it down and hindering its movements.

>Take some stuff from the bag just in case (Specify)

Silverware, ketchup, pepper, and mustard.

We could try covering something in ketchup/mustard and then transmuting it into a different substance if we wanted to arrest movement OR create a protective layer.

Gold is pretty soft, but I'm not sure if a thick layer would be easy to tear apart or puncture.

If we can predict the angle of the wind right, we can make a show of pounding a lot of ground/structures to try and futilely hit Silver Chariot. Unbeknownst to Polnareff, however, we could transmute stuff to pepper as KC touches it, which can create an irritating cloud that could drift over to him.

We might also be able to transmute a tunnel underneath Polnareff by "burrowing" into the ground via rapid transmutation of material into ketchup/mustard.
>>

Take pepper and mustard, absorb gold.
Or better yet, can we absorb multiple things at one time? We could turn 2 hands into condiments and the rest into gold.

Karma Chameleon jumps in and aims a punch at Silver Chariot's helmet. Polnareff only makes his stand place a hand where he predicted you to hit him without a care in the word.

It seems he's simply taking you for granted, time to show you how big he screwed up by doing that.

You aim at Chariot's helmet with one hand, only to hit his chestplate with your other hands. The fake out punch seemed to take him by surprise, making Polnareff wince at your attack.

Before he managed to recover, you follow up your punch with a swift flurry of fists. While your stand might not be the fastest, the strength of your punches along with your extra pair of arms is more than enough to give Silver Chariot a hard time escaping your grasp after being caught.

With one final punch, you manage to send Silver Chariot a few meters back, with an angry and slightly injured Polnareff looking at you.

Weird. You expected him to be in a much worse condition given how much of a beating you gave him...

Silver Chariot rushes in and starts slashing at Karma Chamaleon at an incredible high speed, You doubt you can do much than block since dodging all of those shots are out of the question.

However, the gold you absorbed from the monkey seems to save you from from Polnareff's blade, which is having a hard trouble penetrating Karma's skin due to the thickness of said material, making what was supposesd to be a flurry of mortal wounds strong enough to impale to be look as deep as if you were being stabbed by a bunch of pins really fast.

While your durability might keep you standing for now, his speed will most likely wear you down if you dont fight back so you have to watch for an opening.

Polnareff grows increasingly frustrated after noticing how easily you seem to be tanking his attacks, making it easier to see the timing of his attacks.

With one swift move, you manage to grab his hand before he could stab a wound in Karma's eye. Quickly turning his armor into gold.

"What? What is this?" Polnareff seems to crouch down in pain as the weigh of Chariot's Armor begin to take a toll on him. After completely turning him into gold, Silver Chariot falls to the ground with an audible "clang", struggling to stand up or move himself.

"Damn it... I shouldnt have left my guard down like that. If only i didnt let you absorb that golden monkey...things would have been a lot easier on my side..." Polnareff laments while trying his best to stand up.

Or the flesh bud is compelling him to do some really dishonorable stuff but he manages to resist visibly enough for the others to catch on.
>>
You hear a lound noise on the place Silver Chariot was. Taking a closer look, you noticed that his armor seems to have loosened up a bit. His stand tries to squirm to get off the ground, but the golden armor proves to be too heavy for him to get out.

"No! the armor was supposed to come off! I can't believe it..." Polnareff seemed to have a last trick up his sleeve. But transforming his armor into gold really did cut his legs short...

"Do you surrender?" You softly ask the frenchman. "You're incapacitated, and I'd rather not kill a gentleman like yourself."

Polnareff gives a slight chuckle at your comment.

"Even after all of that, you're still able to call me a gentleman? I guess it was obvious i wasnt able to kill a woman, even with all of my bluffing before... Not after Sherry..." Polnareff hangs his head down, physically and mentally defeated.

While you're interest to know what he's talking about, you're afraid he might have a flesh bud on him. He doesnt really seem to be the type to kill people on a whim. You can definetly see his honor shining through Dio's orders. Could it be that his sense of self is strong enough to supress something as strong as Dio's mind control?

And sure enough, after pulling some of his hair back, you can definetly see a pink bug-like creature in his forehead.

"Jotaro, he has a flesh bud. Could you please help him out?" You ask Jotaro, who quietly summons Star Platinum and rushes over to you.

"Good job, Hitomi! You made it look so easy!" Joseph excitedly congratulates you.

"Not bad at all for your first one on one battle against a stand user." Avdol adds with a smile on his face.

"The gold you absorbed with Karma Chameleon made the fight completely one sided to you. That was truly amazing!" Kakyoin concludes, seeming surprised by your display of skill.

Activate moe powers! We have to make them fight over us. Well, Jotaro, Kak and (maybe) Pol anyway. Joseph already has both a wife and a canonical fling with a Japanese woman, and Avdol is too mature to buy into this.

It also might make the Rubber Soul encounter far sillier.

This was us getting very lucky. Polnareff giving us the first move is what made this a whole lot simpler. The good news is, at least, that we more than made up for our folly on the plane. Legit though, if he'd successfully ejected his armor, I'd have been all for tagging out to Avdol. There's just no way we'd be able to catch something so fast.

"Oh c'mon, guys. That was nothing special..." You feel your face getting red from the amount of compliments you received, so hopefully that makes things up after screwing up with the plane situation.

After Jotaro takes the flesh bud from Polnareff. He's finally free from Dio's control, so hopefully that'll make him more inclined to help.

After making his stand disappear. Polnareff looks up to you with a smile on his face.

"Hey, not bad. You totally had me on that fight." He says, gives you a thumbs up.

Polnareff seems to be a nice person, but you wonder how much he knows about Dio and the rest...

Now that Polnareff is free of Dio's mind control, it's pretty safe to say he'll be more inclined to helping. He's likely been with that flesh bud for a bit longer than Kakyoin, so out of everyone else you've met so far,he's probably the one who knows the most about Dio.

"I take it you have a few things to ask me?" Polnareff says, noticing everyone else in your traveling party approaching him with curiosity. "That's understandable. I guess i owe you all a few questions after all of this trouble. What do you wish to know?"

It's best to take the most important questions out of the way first.

"How did you get this flesh bud on you, Polnareff?" You ask him.

"It's a long story, actually." Polnareff says with a more serious tone, his smile quickly disappearing as he reminds himself of what caused the loss of his free will.

"To be short. I was looking for the man who murdered my sister, Sherry Polnareff. Unfortunately, in my search for that man, i came across Dio. He implied that he knew the whereabouts of my sister's muderer, but it was just a trap. He ended up using his flesh bud on me and gave me the orders to kill all of you. No matter how hard i tried to resist, it seemed his presence couldnt get out of my head."

Kakoin subtly stopped making eye contact with Polnareff, seemingly relating to him in a way, while you and the others kept paying attention to his every word.

"But how did you know about my stand? You even knew my full name, there's no way you should be able to know that!" You ask again, wondering how such a thing could be possible.

"Dio's stand ability is nothing to be scoffed at." Polnareff says, unsure on how to explain how Dio's stand works. "It's like he's omniscient or something, he's able to look deep inside a person's heart and know all about them with it as long as he has some sort of connection with said person. And since he was able to contol me remotely, he gave me his knowledge about you, your friends, and where to look to get rid of you."

"Wait a minute..." You say in surprise to Polnareff's previous statement. Did he just say he caught a glimpse of Dio's stand, that's definetly something worth questioning him.

"Well yeah. he stretched out his hand over to a crystall ball and was able to show some visions related to my past and present while some purple came out of his arm. There's no way he should be able to know that, so i figured it must be his stand ability."

"But that's how my stand works!" Joseph interrupts Polnareff while showing Hermit Purple. "I've been using it for months to try to get a clue on where Dio's hiding."

"Two Hermit Purples?" Kakyoin asks in confusion

"Is it really possible to share the same exact stand with another person?" Avdol ponders.

"So that means he knows we beat you?" You ask Polnareff, unsure of how aware Dio really is of our actions.

"I'm afraid so." Joseph answers before Polnareff has a chance to respond. "That bastard probably has been using his stand for as long as me, if not longer..."

"The old man and i had a feeling we were constantly being watched these pasts few days, but i didnt think it was anything more than sheer paranoia." Jotaro adds. "Seeing how easy Dio can pinpoint our location, i take it our journey wont be as easy as we expected..."

This turned out to be an incredibly fruitful information you managed to obtain, but aside from its use outside of battle, Hermit Purple doesnt seem to have an amazing performance in battles, he wouldnt be able to pose such a threat to users like Polnareff and Avdol if that's the limit of his stand abilities, would he?"

"Well, i hope that helped you guys out." Polnareff says while standing up and stretching his arms. "That's about all i know from Dio, so if you dont have any more questions, i'll be leaving now."

Honestly, I think him coming along might be a bit of a risk in and of itself, considering that means another person to keep track of, and near as we can tell his mission is to get rid of whoever killed his sister. His mission is not really the same as ours, so unless we find that guy, he's got no reason to follow anyway.
>>
"D-do you know any stand users that might work under Dio?" You ask him. If he's been controlled by Dio for so long, he has to know at least one person...

"Aside from the man i'm looking for? Not really. I wasnt looking for anything else at the time, so even if i did i wouldnt really consider important enough to remember. Now, if you'll excuse me..." Polnareff starts walking towards the stairs.

"W-wait!" You say to Polnareff, trying to hide the panic you've been feeling since you have realizing you're constantly being watched by Dio. "Dont you want to come with us? You'd be a great ally to our team with Silver Chariot..."

Polnareff silently puts some thought into your offer.

"I agree. We have until tomorrow morning for the Speedwagon Foundation to arrive with our boat to Singapore, so you have plenty of time to decide until then." Joseph informs Polnareff "You're free to meet us at the harbor to say goodbye, at least."

"I've always worked by myself. So i'm not sure how well i would go with a group like yours, and i don't really plan on fighting Dio or whatever you guys intend to do, all i want is to find the man who killed Sherry. Nothing more, nothing else.

Joseph seems to frown at the Frenchman's response, along with Kakyoin and Avdol.

"But i cant deny that you've all helped me greatly by freeing me of Dio's control. So maybe you'd be good enough to trust for a short while... Fine, i'll consider your offer, but don't count on it." Polnareff concludes, continuing to walk down the stairs. "Farewell, Gentlemen. And thanks a lot, Mademoiselle Furuya."

You're not really sure on what to think of Polnareff's answer, but you guess you'll just have to wait until tomorrow to know.

...
>>
...

"Well, this turned out to be a lot easier than i expected..." Joseph says, surprised at the peaceful conclusion to the fight with Polnareff.

"It'd be a shame if he refuses, we could be losing a great ally..." Kakyoin laments while looking at the frenchman from a distance.

"You said we were staying here until tomorrow morning?" Jotaro asks his grandfather.

"Yeah, i think we might need to look for a place to stay in while we still have the time." Joseph says while also walking towards the stairs, prompting everyone to follow him.

...

After finding a good hotel, you found a good room to stay by yourself while Jotaro shared a room with Kakyoin and Joseph shared another one with Avdol, before the next day came along, you decided to pass the time hanging out with...

It's amazing to see how energetic Joseph is. Even though he's wise and mature when he needs to, he's pretty enthusiastic about traveling around the world to hunt down an evil vampire. He sure seems experienced, but you dont really know what made him that way.

As curiosity got the better of you, you decide to ask Joseph what he did on his younger days, back when he was a teenager.

"Most people wouldnt believe it if i said i was hunting down Pillar Men thousands of year older than me that wanted to take over the world, but somehow i think you will." He chuckles to himself. "To be honest, i still dont know how i won against them, being as lazy and overconfident as i was back then. It was probably a mixture of skill and pure luck, the tricks i used in battle werent really expected of the average fighter, so being random was really good when it came to fighting."

"Anything as weird as saving condiments for a stand battle?" you say while giggling to yourself.

"Well, there was that one time i made a dove go inside my friends mouth-- Wait, so that's what you thought that was?" Joseph asks after interrupting himself.

"Yeah, didnt you bring the food there for me to absorb?"

"Oh! I just brought it because i wanted to save it for later, i didnt even understand why you asked for the food back there!" He says while laughing.

Okay, maybe that one was just pure coincidence... As smart as Joseph is, you cant really expect him to be prepared for everything.

Going back to the topic at hand, he has mentioned these Pillar men a couple of times, but he never really told you what they were.

"Try to think of a vampire, only tougher, wiser, faster and stronger. If it werent for them, i doubt the vampires would even exist. You see, there was one of them named Kars that wished to achieve the Perfect Life Form by using the Red Stone Of Aja along with the ancient stone masks he created so he could walk on daylight and be at full power. While he created many unsucessful masks, they were all strong enough to turn regular humans into vampires, prompting us humans to develop the Hamon technique as a means of defending ourselves. As tough as they were, they still went down pretty easily with a good charge."

Interesting. But how many Pillar Men did he have to fight?

"They were thought to be extinct by the time i was alive, but 4 of them awoke from a deep slumber after hundreds of years, one of them being Kars, trying to achieve perfection again. But thankfully me, my mother and my friend Caesar managed to stop them all."

"Was this Kars stronger than Dio?" You ask Joseph as your curiosity grows by the minute.

"Hm... It's hard to say now, since we dont know how good of a stand user Dio is, but the Piller Men were able to absorb humans using their body, so i doubt Dio would stand any chance back when he was standless. Hell, i still doubt he could beat him now if he fought Kars when he turned into the ultimate life form..."

After? So Kars did achieve perfection?

"Yup. I doubt i'll ever have a tougher fight in my life than Ultimate Kars. He could shift any part of his body into any animal and do whatever he wished to, i'm pretty sure he was immortal at that point too. I threw the guy at a lava pit and all he did was come back even angrier, even my Hamon attacks did nothing to him. I thought i would die there, but the Stone of Aja somehow protected me."

The stone that made Kars perfect? How did that even happen?

"Well, the power that stone had was to amplify any light source by a million times like a laser beam. since he wasnt limited to being a vampire, he managed to replicate a Hamon charge to kill me right there. That's when i blocked his chop with the stone, the laser activated on top of the volcano, making an eruption so strong it managed to send him into space."

"That's... incredibly convenient..." You say back to him after hearing the absurdity of that story.

"I couldnt believe it myself either, he's probably still out there in space since he cant die. It was a tough battle and it cost me my left arm, but i won, and that's all that really mathers.

Left arm? So that's why it felt so weird when you shook his hand...

"Yeah, it's why i wear gloves all the time, it doesnt really bother me though. It works just as well as a real one."

With how fun that story was, it reminded yourself on how useful Hamon would be against Dio, so you ask him if he already remembered how to teach Hamon to other people.

"I think i do actually. It's one of the first things i learned while mastering hamon. All i need to do is hit your esophagus with a good Hamon charge. Do you feel like trying it out?"

By the time he's finished talking, you're holding the urge to squeal with joy. Learning Hamon seems amazing! Imagine killing Dio with one shot!

Then again, getting a hit on your esophagus doesnt seem like a comfortable feeling...

"Of course! it's worth a shot if it means we can bring Dio down with ease." You say back to him with a big smile on your face.

"I'm the one who asked for this, remember? It's all on me if doesnt work." You warn Joseph.

I was about to say, imagine if we finally use our doll on Karma Chameleon, and then channel Hamon into it. OUR STAND IS A GIANT TREE NOW!
>>
"It's alright Mr Joestar, i trust you." You say before breathing in and closing your eyes to a smiling Joseph. It seems your words probably gave him a big confident boost.

"One...." He starts counting after seeing you were ready.

"Two...." His breathing gets audibly louder as you hear something similar to electric spark sounds in the distance.

"Three!" Joseph shouts as his finger hits you at the pit of your stomach with full force. You wince back and fall on your knees as Joseph holds his position. You feel all the air leave your lungs while the sparks coming from Joseph's arms make you feel a heat spread around your body as if you've turned into Magician's Red.

"Easy now... try to breathe in again..." Joseph calmly says to you. That's easy for him to say, when you try to breathe in you just end up coughing up. You think you're just going to vomit if this keeps up.

"Try it again, slower this time. Do it like i'm doing it right now."

You try to mimic his slow, rhythmic breathing. It's hard at first considering you're gasping for air, but after the panic fades in, you start to breathe normally. Joseph finally lets go of you, but instead of the heat dissipating, you only feel it grow even stronger.

"We did it!" Joseph says while helping you stand up. "You've learned Hamon! How are you feeling?

You feel some sparks of light coming out of your body. Everytime you breath in, you feel like you have enough energy to run a marathon, and everytime you breath out, you feel strong enough to blow a wall away.

It seems you've sucessfully become a Hamon user.

"I feel amazing, Mr. Joestar!" you excitedly say to the middle aged man. "Do you really feel like this all the time?"

"Not really, it usually fades away after a few seconds when you stop focusing on it. Hamon is focused on breathing, afterall, so if you dont keep the rhythm, the charges will stop coming.

Surely enough, after your breathing resumes to a regular pace, the heat seems to cool down as your body goes back to its current state. It doesnt look like something easy to mantain...

"Is it normal to feel really hot when breathing?" You ask, not really sure how this works just yet.

"You'll get used to it after the first few times. Here, have some water if it makes you feel any better" Joseph says as he hands you over a glass of water.

You hold the glass with your finger tips and lift it up to gulp the water down, only to realize the water isnt coming down. It's completely stationary, as if you're holding a glass of ice in your hands.

"Wow, Hitomi! You're a natural at this. I wasnt able to do that for the longest time. Dont worry, you just have to grip the glass with your palm rather than with your fingertips."

After following Joseph's advice, the water turns back to its regular state. Making it easier for you to drink and cool your body down.

"While practicing is key to become a more powerful Hamon user, some abilities work passively. Now your breathing will be permanently longer and stronger than a normal human while also slowing your aging to a grinding halt. Now, do you have any questions?"

>Aging? How old are you again?

How do you keep your breathing at the right rhythm during a fight? Seems like it'd be easy to panic and start breathing wrong.

>Can you try this with the rest of the group?
>>
I imagine it's only going to work with us and maybe Jotaro. We more than likely lucked out on the genetics/aptitude needed to get it to work. That being said I can't see Jotaro practicing these breathing exercises.

Surely enough, there's probably more to hamon than frying monsters and feeling hot.

"What else can Hamon do?" You ask Joseph.

"Since you're emulating the sun's energy with your own body, you're able to store and disperse this energy depending on what object you charge it on, something very similar to what your stand already does. You can also heal a lot of wounds and even walk and water. The sky's the limit as long as you're breathing."

Incredible, imagine the possibilities of Hamon while fighting. Dio wont stand a chance if everyone manages to grasp this ability.

"Can you try this with the rest of the group?" You say while still badly containing your excitment.

"Well it's pretty early, so i doubt that they'll be sleeping at this time. but i doubt it will work on all of them, even now that i know the technique. only one in ten thousand bear the aptitude capable of using it, and the main characteristic of a user comes from the pressure one has felt or will feel through harsh situations in life. Even the best Hamon mansters have failed to activate Hamon on ceirtan people."

Damn. What a bummer, you hope at least one of them can make it then...

"Is there anything else you can teach me?" You ask Joseph one more time.

"Not now. I'll have to go and have this conversation with everyone else on the team, so i'd take a while to actively learn new moves. For now it's best to focus on controlling your breathing first."

Joseph stands up after finishing his meal, waves you goodbye and goes downstairs.

What now?

After some time, you go downstairs to your room and try to practice your Hamon and focus on your breathing for the rest of the night.

You can definetly feel the heat coming in your first few inhales, but the slightest movement from your body alters your breathing, making you go from 100 to zero in an instant.

This is probably going to take a while...

You sit down on your bed and try to maintan your breathing without moving an inch. It takes you around two hours to keep the Hamon Breathing for longer than a minute, by the time you give up, you feel like you've had a week's worth of full body workouts.

Strangely enough, you're not really feeling sweaty. In fact your skin has been hardening ever since you started focusing your breathing, and you might be just seeing things, but after taking a shower and looking at the mirror, you could swear you've gained some muscle mass. Is it really possible to look as fit as an athlete by breathing alone?

While not exactly satisfied with the results, you feel like you've made enough progress for a day, hopefully someone else has also developed the ability, but after such an intense breathing session, you feel its best to ask this tomorrow at the harbor.

...

September 3rd, 1988

After waking up and packing your things, you exit the hotel walk towards the harbor, it seems Joseph went out with Kakyoin and Avdol first to get in contact with the ship's captain that'll lead you all to Singapore. Since the Harbor's fairly close to your hotel, getting there wasnt particularly hard, but it's still weird to go out without any of them guiding you.

When you get there, you see Jotaro observing the sea while lighting a cigarette. After noticing you, he adjusts his hat and turns over to you, placing the lit cigarette on his mouth.

>Good morning, Jotaro.

>Ask him if Joseph teached him Hamon.

>Ask where everyone else is.

>Ask how Holly is doing.

"Good morning, Jotaro." You greet the tall teenager while looking for the rest of your group. "Do you know where everyone else is?"

"Hey." he replies to your greeting. "A man from the Speedwagon Foundation showed up, so they're probably negociating or something, they'll most be back in a few minutes."

After that, he simply stops talking and continues to smoke.

Well, since it doesnt look like's going to keep the conversation going, you might as well change the subject to something that'll get a reaction from him.

"Did you notice anything different about me, Jotaro?" You say to him while giving cheeky smile.

Jotaro places a hand on his chin while absorbing you head to toe. "Your clothes don't look any different from what you usually wear, so no. Why are you asking this anyway? Stop talking in that annoying tone. It's annoying."

You visibly frown after hearing Jotaro's response. Sheesh, no need to be so harsh.

"It's my Hamon training. Joseph managed to turn me into a Hamon user yesterday. Did he try to teach you too?" You ask Jotaro.

"I doubt he will." Jotaro grunts. "After he failed to do it with Kakyoin, the old man tried to convince me how i had the biggest chance and whatnot, but it's hard to convince me while there's a student puking on the floor due to what he did. You two can have fun with your Hamon breathing, but i'm not interested."

An awkward silence passes after he says that, so you cant think of anything else to say to lighten the mood after that.

Fortunately, you can 3 figures resembling your friends walking towards you while a ship approaches to the pier. Strangely enough, Jotaro seems to be looking at the man approaching in the opposite direction.

"...Polnareff?"

>To be continued.

Did Avdol fancy a go on the Hamon ride?

Since Dio is spying on the group every so often, how did he react or how will he react to Hitomi developing a potentially really strong Stand and also being a Hamon prodigy?

Have fun looking for it. It's either at the bottom of the ocean or floating around in outer space.
>>2071090
Avdol didnt really feel like trying it out either. Magician's Red is already reliant on heat and powerful energy bursts so he didnt really consider learning a new ability that does pretty much the same thing his stand has done for all his life. While Joseph didnt exactly agree, he can see where Avdol is coming from, so he didnt pressure him about it.

Dio's mildly surprised at how quickly you're evolving as a fighter, and the Hamon might be a bit of a hassle when you two finally meet. But he's still pretty confident of his victory.

There are. Kars showed Esidisi one of them before crushing it because it was too small for their purposes.

It also turns out that he has a huge-ass pile of stone masks with Aja-stone holes in them. I'd guess those are his experimental attempts at making an Aja-powered stone mask that would fully pierce their brains.
>>
>>2071153
Can Joseph's stand help determine Either? Although I'm expecting kind of the following:
"Ey yo, joseph, can you locate that stone using your stand?"
>stone surrounded by pitch black
"Well, it's either space or the bottom of the ocean."
Maybe if we had a piece of whatever the red stone is made of, we can use kameleon to make a makeshift one...

We wanted to be snake, but turns out we were more like para-medic.
>>
>>2071205
We absolutely should ask Joseph if the speedwagon foundation could track down even a small piece of aja, then
Just imagine the raw power that an Aja Karma Chameleon could utilize
>>
>>2071216
>>2071208

At present, Hitomi doesn't really know that much about the Red Stone to appreciate its effects. It's likely that Joseph not might really feel the need to tell Hitomi either. Hell, Joseph didn't even consider using it as a weapon against Kars until the very end.
>>
>>2071216
Remember that Dio is watching us with Jonathan's hermit at every moment. He might intercept the stone before it gets to us. Now that I think of it, we should brainstorm a way to impede Dio from spying us. Maybe if we talk only with our stands he wont be able to hear us?
>>
>>2071224
We know it can amplify light. We get just a small piece, we could turn Karma Chameleon into a death laser in the light, fatal to vampires. Just a death laser by iteslf seems awesome and has uses. I don't doubt it'd be hard to figure out though... if Chameleon can change how the imperfections are done, maybe she can figure out a way to replicate it, but it'd take a long ass time to get just the right imperfections to replicate the red stone of aja. might be able to do just a red stone in the mean time though.

>captcha stop road
screw you captcha, i'm continuing with this line of thought
>>
>>2071243
On one hand, i doubt he'd care. the world, from his POV, is invincible. and it basically is. Only way to stop it without timestop of your own would be to part 2 joseph it super hard and make him stand right where you want to at the end of the timestop itself to set off some kind of trap, and even then that'd be difficult to pull off
>>
>>2071254
The only trap I can think of is having a UV light shining in an area he intends to travel to without him knowing it's there. Even if he stops time, the light is still shining and therefore still exists in the stopped time. Heck, if he destroys the light source, time still has to resume for the light to cease shining. Alternatively, we find a material, like Quartz or Fluorite, and have Karma Chameleon turn into it. Shine a light directly through it. It will block regular light, but not UV light. That being said we'd need 3 people minimum for that plan to work: one to keep DIO busy/held down, one to operate the light, and ourselves to be the lens the light passes through.
>>
>>2071286
in which case, jotaro would still be the best case to fight him, since that would require possibly sacrificing a member for a plan that may or may not work vs have jotaro yare yare daze him and beat him down to the point where either they're both tired and even with the world, it'd be easy enough to finish him off, or jotaro straight up kills him.

this is mostly just meta discussion though, considering we don't know about the specific ability of jotaro or dio's stands.
>>
>>2071224
This. As far as Hitomi knows that gem is one of a kind, especially by the way Joseph told the story. So even with what >>2071205 being true, looking for red gems good enough to replicate the Aja stone would be kinda difficult for the quest given how:
1. The Speedwagon Foundations focuses on securing and containing supernatural items and entities. Giving away their locations would probably go against standard protocol, even if Joseph approved of letting you look for the gems which neither him or you have a good reason to do so.

2. Karma Chameleon isnt Crazy Diamond. She can't fix a stone and freely replicate it, she can only mimic it's imperfection and transform change an object's composition with it. Making a copy of something she's never seen would probably be hard too.

3. Aja Chameleon would be pretty unbalanced. The Aja Stone was strong enough to erupt Kars into space and it was about 1 inch tall. a 5 foot Aja stone would be probably be enough to destroy everything present on Cairo to smitherines. You guys are strong enough to stand a chance against Dio without resorting to this.
>>
>>2071357
>its the nuclear option
good to know
>>
>>2071357
Granted, the slightest imperfection being imitated would reduce Aja Chameleon's effectiveness drastically
>>
>>2071357
You forget that the eruption was partly because of the red stone and partly because of Ultimate Kars's Ultimate Hamon.
Oh well, the power gaming was fun while it lasted. But dont worry guys, i'm sure we will find a way to break the Quest, sooner or later.
