Alright! Let's roll! Get in here

You discuss your sister and brother's situations as well, telling him how Karl has cleaned up his act and is currently serving as the Mayor of the Capital City, while your sister has busied herself governing the remants of Rorscha IV, overseeing the recovery and rebuilding efforts there...

Your conversation with your father turns to personal matters, and your father, fearing for your safety, despite your assurances, has offered to send you aid, as soon as there is a break in the warp storms....

A. 5 million colonists, taken from the teeming hive citys of Valoran IV
B. 5 Regiments of the Valoran Assault Corps, loyal elite forces, consisting of a combined arms, including vehicles aircraft and artillery

You decide to request the Valoran Assault Corps reinforcements, and ask if there is anything that can be done to help the family back home, but he tells you that things are going well in Segmentum Solar and that the family is safe and profitable at the moment...

Unfortunately your astropath reports to you that the warp storm has kicked up again, and communications have once again been scrambled....

You return to the command center and while you are deep in though, an officer from your PDF fleet brings you a set of reports, deemed important enough for your notice by Commodore Felix, a few days warp away, one of your ships on patrol witnessed a hostile encounter by 2 Adeptus Mechanicus ships, with a damaged Admech escort attempting to flee an Admech Cruiser, before being run down and completely destroyed by fire from the cruiser, long after the escort had been rendered defenseless....

The Admech cruiser broadcasted a warning not to approach and left the area shortly after the incident, while our ship observed with sensors from long range....

There has also been a contact detected, entering the very edge of our system, for a few minutes before leaving, appearing at seemingly random locations and intervals...

After a few days, your fleet was able to determine some predictions to the pattern, and while they missed the ship causing it, they found an object floating in space near where the mysterious contact warped out of the system...

One of your ships is nearby and available to pick it up...

A. Pick up the object and investigate
B. Leave it be for now

You order your fleet to have the object picked up, and your ships complies with the order, obtaining the item, which appears to be some sort of listening device of Imperial design, with advanced sensor technology and what looks like a decryption logic-engine but the device will have to be opened up and the knowledge inside decrypted to be of much use to us....

Unfortunately, as your men began to disassemble it, they found a plasma explosive charge, and a safeguard against tampering, and your men are not confident about being able to disarm the explosive....

A. Have them try to disassemble it(I will roll a d100-20 to determine success)

Continued observations of the edges of the system, reveals the mysterious contact, a space marine strike cruiser, with its IFF deeactivated, and intentionally keeping its emissions down....

Unfortunately from this distance it cannot be identified, but they seem to be searching for the listening device and have yet to spot the powered down cobra missile boat that is watching them...

You have your ship cautiously approach the strike cruiser and hail them....

The ship suddenly powers up and speeds to the edge of the system before jumping to warp....

Your ship watches for several days, but the contacts coming into the system seem to have stopped for now....

The command center suddenly goes on alert as a contact is detected at the end of the system....

It registers as a Admech Cruiser, its IFF reading Wrath of the Omnissiah, and you are hailed by the newly minted Magos Xeroth, who wishes to meet with you and discuss an arrangement....

You quickly agree and have him, now an artisan, with the rank of Magos meet you in one of your most opulent meeting rooms....

While he seems less human than before, the techpriest now having replaced both his eyes with cybernetic replacements and added another metal arm on his back...

He offers to continue supporting your projects here in exchange for using your territories to perform his own projects, away from prying eyes, completely independent of your operations...

He tells you that the Admech escort that was destroyed was an extremist part of his faction on the Forgeworld and that the tensions between the conservative and liberal forces on Vigil are coming to a boil, in light of recent pronouncements made by Archmagos Belisarious Cawl about the development of new origninal technology and use of xenotech....

He is also effectively ally you, lending his fleet of his cruiser and 2 escorts to the defense of your territory, while he can provide his own security with several thousand skitarri warriors, and gun servitors....

He also has learned the arts of managing large manufacturing operations and crafting high quality items....

You decide to take him up on his offer, allowing him to use existing facilities and build his own on worlds you control....

He also offers to help deal with the listening device you found, for old times sake....

After several days of guided attempts, as he used remotely controlled servitors to disarm the bomb, the logic-engines have been accessed, and while heavily encrypted, it only takes a week for Xeroth to break the codes, and find out who the listening device belongs to, it seems that it belongs to the Dark Angels, or one of their successors, likely keeping an eye on us, as they will never give up the quest to capture Zachias and Ishmael, as they are considered fallen...

Speaking of Zachias, he has asked you what you want to do with our Astartes forces.

A. Integrate them in directly with the rest of our forces, including having squads and companies of mixed compositions, with humans, gene augmented or not, fighting directly alongside Astartes

You decide to integrate the Astartes with regular human forces, a throwback to the Glory days of the Great Crusade....

Zachias has also inquired about the deployment of the neophytes in our forces, back in the Great Crusade era, they often went through extended training until they received their black carapace implant, allowing them to wear power armor....

Currently they are equipped with specially modified carapace armor, individually tailored to their enlarged frames, compared to a baseline human....

Zachias recommends that they get some combat experience however before their receiving their armor, as training can only teach them so much....

How should they be used?

A. Reconnaisance and Infiltration, as the Codex Astartes dictates, they will scout ahead of the main force, and work with other special forces units behind enemy lines
B. Heavy weapons, essentially forming into devastator squads, they will focus on heavy weapon mastery and deploy as such, their improved strength allowing them to carry weapons a normal man could not
C. Mobility Squad, mount them on attack bikes, and have them used as scouts and a cavalry force to run down vulnerable enemies
D. Assault squad, arm them with close combat weapons and shotguns and have them focus on engaging in melee combat with our foes
E. Keep them in training as a reserve force

You decide to follow the Codex Astartes when it comes to the neophytes, equipping then with sniper rifles and tzavaras rifles.

Having returned and in the new spirit of innovation brought about archmagos Cawl, xeroth believes he can improve the efficiency of production as well as the quality of the tzavaras model rifles, already a retroengineered tau pulse rifle, xeroth has developed a superior design, improving range and accuracy even further giving your infantry firepower unmatched by any imperial force and most Xenos forces as well.

He believes he can improve the production line to the point that you can equip your elite regiments with them within 5 years, and your garrison regiments and naval troops within a decade after that

However it will cost 4 (tu) to make the upgrade

You approve the project, giving Xeroth the go-ahead to start, before your attention is drawn to other concerns....

You are given orders from Corean himself to assemble most of your ships and join the main Imperial fleet for a major strike, deep into Separatist space....

Xeroth has agreed to help defend your space while the fleet is gone with his three ships, but besides your defense monitor, you need to decide any other ships to leave behind to defend your realm....

Your current fleet consists of (in order of size)

Your Battlecruiser
The Grand cruiser, Wrath of Manachea
Your Lunar Class cruiser, the Edge of Tomorrow
The Absolution a Hecate class cruiser
The Redline, a Claymore class corvette
The two Cobra missile boats

The battlefleet sets out to join the main crusade fleet, led by TWS Indomitable, your battlecruiser, joining it are the edge of tomorrow, wrath of manachea along with the warspite and the defiant, your two cobras.

Along with xeroth ships the absolution and the redline will defend your space with your space station and the defense monitor ensuring your capital is safe....

The report from commodore Felix is uneventful as your ships join the rest of the crusade fleet in the staging system of Voria, long uninhabited and allowing the crusade fleet to gather unnoticed. Corean leads the fleet from the deck of the battleship Righteous Blade, it’s hull repainted in inquisition black....

There are a dozen imperial navy vessels there as well as 20 warships belonging to Various pdf fleets, with Tarkon’s contingent being one of the largest, second only to the squadron sent by lord alpharius, the cur likely trying to gain favor with the lord Inquisitor....

Corean holds a council of war aboard the righteous blade....>>2067679

Commodore Lorenzo Felix grips the command chair on the bridge of Indomitable as the ship transitions back to real space....

He immediately looks over at the young officer at Auspex station, awaiting his report....

"7 contacts, looks like a small space station and half a dozen warships in high orbit"

Corean orders the pursuit and destruction of all Separatist ships in the system, and gives all ship commanders the freedom to fight their ships as they see fit....

Clearly bucking for glory, Felix can see the squadron sent by Alpharius rushing to the vanguard of the formation, running straight down the throat of the small separatist flotilla....

His flotilla is met by a salvo of cylonic torpedoes, from a trio of enemy Cobras, and lance fire from 2 cruisers and a corvette....

Most of the torpedoes seem to be targeted at a lunar class cruiser pulling up the right flank of the vanguard, one of Alpharius's ships....

The loyalist ships are employing counter measures and have shot down several torpedoes but it looks like a few might get through.....

Your ships fire on the escaping enemy but miss most of their shots, barely damaging the shields on an enemy lunar cruiser as the separatists seem to make good their escape....

The Nova cannon charges for almost 5 seconds before firing, the bridge tense as there is a brief delay with the shell slightly jamming before firing, unfortunately it flies clear past the bow of the lead Separatist ship, at least it didnt blow up our own ship, or discharge plasma over the gundecks again.....

The Crusade fleet, led by Alpharius's squadron are able to cripple one of the lunar cruisers but fail to catch the rest of the separatists....

His ships seem to moving to board the Lunar class, but there are a cobra and a sword class frigate....

Armsmen run to armory weapon racks as the boarding alarm siren blares on the mid decks of the ship....

The communist sailors inside the Charybdis put up a staunch defense, repeatedly raking the breach caused by the boarding torpedo with fire from lasguns, shotguns and autoguns, killing several of the more rash armsmen, and pinning the rest inside...

Despite his efforts to get the men moving, Felix and his men are pinned down inside their torpedo, until 2 more are launched, forcing the defenders to spread their forces too thin....

17 minutes after initially boarding, Felix leads the men out of the boarding torpedo into the guts of the frigate, taking a lasgun shot to the shoulder and losing 4 more men, although the separatists are quickly subdued, seeing the fight is hopeless after that....

Unfortunately the enemy crew was given a chance to scuttle the ship, overloading their warp reactor....

The remainder of the campaign in the Platus system is boring, with the ships maintaining patrols around the edge of the system, and getting a few chances to support the Imperial guard forces deployed to retake the sparsely populated mountainous desert world of Platus IV, its main redeeming qualities being its natural beauty and the ceramite deposits beneath the planets crust....

After a relatively quick campaign, finished in just over a month, the fleet is allowed to return to their home bases for refit and resupply...

While the news of the victory is a positive development, it is overshadowed by the presence of a chaos warfleet carrying an army of Bloodpact troops, they seem to be led by a warband of Khorn-worshipping traitors, known as the Crimson Slaughter.....

They are also rumored to be accompanied by strange lizard-like Xenos mercenaries called the Loxatl.

Bureaucratic ineptitude + religious zeal.
The imperium has lost a lot of info in thousands of years... bureaucrats just assume that something as important as a SM chapter was created legally. Also, they could get into trouble for questioning something as sacred as a space marine chapter, after all space marines are the children of the emperor.
>>
>>2075584
We should create a branch of our army specially trained for this. It would greatly increase our fleetgrowth.
They would be a bit lik marines. In space...

>>2075918
If we dont loose too many SM we should be at chapter strength in about 50 years.
So we could have a new SM chapter with our world as their main recruitment world 'appear' in 50 years.
Should be pretty sweet until Rowboat Girlyman sees them and kills them all because they look like Horus.

You have Colonel Masson lead the ground forces in overall command.

The troops, supplies and equipment is quickly loaded up onto the fleet and a jump is made to Nova Macharia, Lord Macharius' homeworld where they meet a small fleet and army gathering there to fend off those chaos forces, including a Battleship, 3 cruisers and 8 escorts from Macharius, along with 2 cruisers from an Imperial Navy patrol fleet. Unfortunately this is the extent of the forces that the Imperium can muster to meet this threat with the Separatists active to the galactic west....
>>
>>2080824
After a day of resting on Nova Macharia, the combined fleet makes for the Phagea system, a barely developed system, home to a small outpost on one of the worlds, and a gas mine on one of the gas giants....

Commodore Felix nervously glances at the Auspex officer as the fleet transitions back into realspace out of the warp, with the telltale lurch as the ship encounters gravitational forces of the Phagea system....

The Auspex operator announces a 2 dozen contacts....

It seems the Chaos warfleet is bombing the outpost, with some of their ships parked at the gas mine, refueling the stores....

Given that you have largest fleet in the force, the Warcouncil decided to name Commdore Felix as overall commander...

Thus placing the fleet under your orders...

A. Engage the enemy ships at the gas mine
B. Engage the enemy ships bombing the surface of Phagea V
C. Split the fleet and engage both groups

Commodore Felix orders the fleet to move to engage the enemy ships moored at the gasmine, who are quickly untethering themselves and are beginning to move away from the gas mine into the semblance of a combat formation....

The ships bombing the planet, have also begun to shift away from their task, repositioning themselves to engage your fleet....

From your ships and two others, 4 squadrons of strike craft appear, including 2 squadrons of fighters and bombers. The Chaos warfleet deploys 3 bomber squadrons, while your fighters peel off to pick off two of the enemy bomber squadrons, one is left unmolested on its approach to your fleet....

Your bombers also make their approach to the enemy fleet, and are requesting a target for their attack run

A. Target the Iconoclast-Class destroyer, its relatively shields and armor will shatter under from a bomber attack
B. Target the Hades class Heavy Cruiser, and its silence its powerful lance batteries

Long range fire by both sides is relatively ineffective, with only a few hits scored by either side, with one of Macharius' escorts taking the brunt of a damage from an enemy torpedo that the fleet failed to shoot down...

The Sword-class frigate, the MWS Falchion, is badly listing to one side and seems to be out of the fight....

Fire from our fleet has damaged the lead enemy Carnage-class cruiser's shields, with our sensor officers reporting that they are likely down to 20-30% strength

The first attack run on the enemy Iconoclast-class destroyer is a success, with 2 torpedoes striking the small hardy combatant, the powerful cyclonic explosives quickly overwhelming its shields and ripping through its armor, spilling its crew and supplies into the openness of the void and completely disabling the ship.....

Unfortunately enemy fire takes down 2 bombers during the run....

The enemy bombers, unload their weapons on the Indomitable, which loses 40% of its shield strength but is still standing strong in formation...

Our escorts and capital ships are able to shoot down 2 bombers, eliminating half of the enemy squadron

Our bombers are now returning to rearm as the fleets close into ideal combat range....

A. Focus fire on the enemy flagship, attempt to decapitate their fleet
B. Focus fire on the enemy Heavy cruiser, don't give it time to unleash its firepower on us
C. Focus fire on the enemy escorts, so we can reduce their ability to shoot down incoming torpedoes and defend against the next bombing run....

Despite having more than a dozen ships firing upon it, the Cruiser, clearly commanded by a skilled captain, manages to evade a large portion of the incoming lance and macrocannon attacks, with the enemy escorts succesfully shooting down incoming torpedoes....

On the Indomitable the Bridge command crew looks on anxiously, as the Gunnery officer reports the status of the Nova Cannon....

"Commodore, they report loaded and ready to fire"

Felix gives the order to target the Heavy cruiser

The entire ship heaves and the massive gun is fired, its heat sinks succesfully absorbing the run off plasma from the shot....

The massive shell hits the rearmost dorsal portion of the enemy Heavy cruiser, the following explosion ripping through armor and shields alike, breaking the ship in half and dealing some light shield damage to its supporting escort ships.....

A cheer goes up on the decks of the ship, as the direct hit is reported.....

Unfortunately the rest of the chaos fleet has arrived to assist after swiftly moving away from their planetary bombardment....
>>
>>2081259
Some enemy fire is taken from the freshly arrived chaos warships, as the enemy fleet as decided to focus fire the Indomitable, clearly seeing the destructive power of the Nova cannon in action....

The Wrath of Manachea moves into position near the crippled battleship....

It takes only a few moments to deploy the fast moving Caestus Assault ram, carrying its deadly cargo, a 10-man squad of veteran terminators, equipped with some of the finest wargear of the great crusade era, lead by Sergeant Gorath, a massive astartes, said to be the oldest of the contingent of 30k Astartes, while not much of a leader, he is absolutely deadly, using his weapons of choice, dual lightning claws....

With the rest of his squad outfitted with power weapons and other rare wargear, they breach the hull of the ancient battleship, and spring out of the ram like an enraged beast, cutting a massive swath through the utterly ineffective defenders, leaving the armsmen that board in follow-on assaults simply having to follow a trail of blood and carnage.....

The boarding operation is a major success, with Sergeant Gorath tearing through the bulkhead doors guarding the bridge and executing the entire bridge staff singlehandedly within 15 seconds....

The bridge and all major control centers are are secured within 30 minutes, with the rest of the ship being secured after 3 hours of mop-up operations, with most of the crew being slaves taken in chaos raids over the years, many of them having since lost their minds, simply laboring to survive....

Meanwhile the surviving two chaos cruisers and their escorts are attempting to make an escape, seeing that their flagship has been taken....

In addition the enemy transports have also made their way to the edge of the system and have escaped as well, leaving the Imperial outpost in the system destroyed but still in Imperial hands at least.....

Their return fire is only somewhat effective as well, scoring a few decent hits on Wrath of Manachea, bringing its shields down to 50%....

However for now it seems the battle is over....

The chaos fleet left behind 2 destroyed cruiser hulls, along with a completely wrecked escort, however there are two escorts that are badly damaged, one looks to be potentially useable again after a major repair and refit, while the other is destined for the scrap yard

On our side, there is almost nothing left of the Edge of Tomorrow besides a few small hull fragments, Macharius' disabled escort will also need to be towed back to his space for major repairs.....

Felix has the fleet sweep the system for enemy ships, while Macharius has a regiment of his PDF troops land to reinforce the outpost and wipe out any chaos holdouts on the surface...

Satisfied that nothing was found in the system and that our work is done, Felix orders the fleet back into friendly space....

Given that Felix and our forces lead and made up the bulk of the fleet, in addition the Deselator battleship, we are given the crippled escort as a prize as well....

The wreckage is split between us and Macharius, with us gaining salvage rights to one of the cruisers and all of the escorts, while Macharius gets one of the cruisers......

Ahh it feels good to be such a good boy.
>>
>>2085376
The return trip to Tarkon is rather uneventful, with Felix taking damage reports from the various ships of the fleet....

Warspite reports minor hull damage, and issues with torpedo tubes #1 and #4

Defiant reports some sublight propulsion troubles, but the Captain assures Felix he can make it back to Port okay

Redline reports no damage

There is a moment of silence, as the report from Edge of Tomorrow is noticed

Absolution, reports some minor hull damage, although its bomber squadrons lost half their number

Wrath of Manachea, reports some damage to its power and shield systems from several barrages of chaos attacks

Indomitable has taken some hull damage and is having some issues with its void shield generators, but is otherwise okay....
>>
>>2085407
With the fleet now in port for the time being for repairs and refit, it would inadvisable to redeploy your warships outside of an emergency situation...

Despite the victory, morale has taken a hit from the loss of Edge of Tomorrow, its nearly decade long career ended in a flash of explosive violence, along with major elements of a veteran and elite regiment carried within its holds...

The ground forces are anxious and disapointed due to the losses and the lack of action....

With the desolator battleship, carried back to port succesfully, we have two options....

Alright thats all I got for tonight guys...

Please feel free to discuss the thread and long term strategies, I can also answer questions that you may have
>>

immediatly call Tzavaras and ask him to get you a trained Psyker
if he cant deliver, ask the Crusaders of Dorn if they mind lending you their Librarian for a while
>>
>>2085554
Hey shmeh, what are our current funds?
>>
>>2086020
Here is our current financial situation

A TU(Trade unit) is worth approximately 10,000 thrones

Income/Expense
Tarkon IV
Taxes on Surface trade 1
Gas Sales 2
Agriculture 8
Manufacturing 3
Lumber 1
Mining 4
Total 19
Tithe @25% -4.75 rounded up to 5 units

Rorscha
Taxes 1
Farms 1
Total 2

Iban Secundus currently produces no income

Income after tithes 16

Expenses
Wages(Military) -4
Vehicle Maintenance -1
Supplies -1
Warship Maintenance -2
Wages(Admin) -2
Total Expenses -10
Total Profits 6

Assets
5 TU of trade goods

Liabilities
Battlecruiser loan(L'Orean) -2
Battlecruiser loan(Tzavaras) -2
Strike Cruiser loan(Vigil) -6
Battleship loan- (Shipyard)- 8
The loans are paid off at a rate at 2 TU a year, but can be paid off all at once

Unfortunately we currently will lose money if we pay up on time on all of our loans after paying Xeroth for upgrading the Tzavaras rifle manufacturing line....

After paying off the two Rogue traders and Vigil, we are left with a measly 1 TU worth of wealth in assets, after expending a great deal on Lara's ring and the very expensive date you took her on....

You are currently not paying the loan for the Battleship you are having repaired in your shipyard, but you can only hold off paying them so long.....
>>
So do we have administrators or "PG"s on the other planets we control aside from our dear sister?

We should start developing other planets instead of our garden world.
>>
>>2088024
The plan was to go full mining and industry on Tarkon V
>>
>>2088592
Plan yes, but we aren't putting the investment in it, thus we are having a bit of a shortfall here on our finances, since we are mainly relying on our main planet.
>>
>>2088599
We would need a colony ship, mining equipment and settlers
As settlers we can maybe get hivers, but with the current tides in the warp i dont even know wether we can contact our family.
>>2087160
Can we?
>>
>>2089052
Not right now
>>
>>2088599
>>2089052
Investments are good and all but we can't even afford that. Between the army and fleet building for the war, the marine and super soldier projects, the experimental weaponry, the eventual wedding arrangements, economic building up of the planets under our control, etc... We're just putting out too much, I think it's time we go the way of our fellow governors and just let our income build up for a year or two, our wallet can't take anymore abuse as is.

Yeah. Considering that we are just a planetary governor we are punching vastly above our weight. A shame that the Imperium doesn't understand the concept of FIAT money or deficit spending..
>>
>>2089185
Probably wont be able to participate because Krautfag and have to sleep, but could you, if we get to talk to Tzavaras, include an option to ask him for a trained Psyker?
>>
>>2089222
We don't have the cash anon, we really need to stop spending for a while
>>
>>2089243
It's an investment into us not getting *BLAM*ed for harboring a Psyker. So it's kinda worth it, if it doesn't cost too much.

Alternatively we could ask the Crusaders of Dorn to lend us their Librarian.
>>
>>2089253
We could give them that strike cruiser we have being built. I doubt they'll lend out a librarian if they don't owe us any favors
>>
>>2089356
We let a chapter that has been branded traitors recruit on our worlds. That's a pretty big favor they owe us.
>>
>>2089356
>>2089406
Not to mention how we gave them a heads up on their status when we met them, this wouldn't be asking for much considering.
>>
>>2089209

Im surprised we arent trying to license gas mining rights or whatever to Imperial trading houses for cash. For that matter, we could also borrow from them. With the exception of paying for major purchases in installments, its been cash and carry for what we get.

C'mon! Governments, especially monarchies, are SUPPOSED to be in debt!
>>
>>2089814
you might get *BLAM*ed for being in debt in this universe
>>
>>2088024
Your sister rules Rorscha in your name, although it was once a developed world with modern technology, its now little more than a ruin, and it will take significant time and investment to bring it back to its former glory....

There is currently no one ruling over Iban Secundus, which is home to a sparse population of stone age humans and a chapter keep of the Crusaders of Dorn, where they are currently hosting most of their forces
>>
>>2085554
Your next major decision after the fleets return, is that you also captured an iconoclast destroyer from the chaos, and must decide what to do with it

A. Repair and rechristen it back into your fleet (-2 TU)
B. Scrap it and sell it to the Mechanicus(+ 2 TU)
C. Other(Write-in)

You ultimately decide to scrap the ship, perhaps a good idea considering its chaotic taint and origin, although as your father used to say "You can never have too many ships"

You make contact with Vigil, through Xeroth, who arranges a mechanicus ship to come and tow the ship back to the Forge world ship yard, to be broken up, its scrap melted down and used to serve as parts of new creations to honor the Machine God.....

You also arrange salvage rights for the Admech, selling them for another 6 TU, altogether you made 8 in TU in one day, not a bad haul....

Things are settling in on Tarkon IV, with the farms, mines and factories working well and producing record numbers, although you it is getting to the point where it would be cheaper and a higher rate of return to develop Rorscha or Iban Secundus.....

What should we do?

A. Contact someone(Write-in)
B. Enact a reform or new law(Write-in)
C. Travel somewhere(Write-in)
D. Other(Write-in)
>>
>>2090184
Contact one of our space marine chapter friends to see if they have a librarian to train our sister.

Also put like 2-4 TU down on our overhauling of the new chaos ship we kept. Can't risk going back on the payment.
>>
>>2090184
This>>2090210
Plus have a look at our current gross and net profits and finances and see if there's any issues or redundancies we can fix to gain a bigger profit or more efficient yields.
>>
>>2090251
>>2090210
You have your astropath contact the Librarian of the Crusaders of Dorn, and request his presence and aid in training your sister with her growing Psyker powers.....

He agrees to help you, as a boon from the chapter, to help build a greater relation with their chapter and as thanks for granting them a prime recruiting world....

So far she has done a good job rebuilding Rorscha, clearing rubble and rebuilding and restoring power to a large section of the old capital city, along with some of the rural areas around it, which now host farms that are able to make the world nearly self sufficient....

She has managed her powers through only making limited public appearances and utilizing a drug cocktail, administered by a Physician working for House Valoran that unfortunately keeps her in a hazy and groggy state, making her useless and bedridden, but at least she seems to be in control of her powers in such conditions....
>>
>>2090308
I really hope its not too late, and she's been doing good.
>>
>>2090308
You also have heard some rumors discussed by your command staff that a fleet of ragged, grey ships belonging to an Astartes chapter, has arrived in Imperial space, from the deep void, regions of space beyond the Imperiums borders.....

You also sit down with some Admin officials to discuss ways to make our government more official, to cut costs and increase profits....

The first suggested way is to make a farm tax, assessing a 10% tax on every farmer Tarkon IV's yield, it will not be popular with the private farmers, particularly some of the small landholders....

You could also launch an anti corruption campaign, mainly against the well known and poorly kept secret of nobleman taking advantage with connections in the Administration to evade their trade taxes and hide their incomes and activities from us, while it was previously considered a minor problem it has grown in the last few years, however cracking down will be politically costly and upset the nobility of Tarkon IV, although it should help refill our coffers

Finally, a more long-term solution would be improving our education system, establishing a formal public school system for children from all walks of life, which, while costly now, would provide immense benefits down the road for us, with a more efficient and effective workforce and much higher technical skills and ablitity to use technology in our population..

The education system would also allow us to guide future generations to a specific goal, such as military style schools, or engineering focused education, you can also use youth education as an effective propaganda tool, teaching your own version of history, allowing you to highlight and downplay events to your choosing....
.
A. Institute the farm tax(+2 TU/year)
B. Crack down on the nobility(+1 TU and +1 TU/year(
C. Establish a formal public education system(-4 TU/-1 TU/year)
>>
>>2090364
C. Establish a formal public education system(-4 TU/-1 TU/year)
>>
>>2090364
I don't like any of these options, and spending that much on education..... Remember how some people reacted to common core being implemented? I think we should cut down on the scope of the education and have general guidelines local schools have to adhere to and provide infrastructure, funding and places to build and support schools.

Also, I'd like to not tax the productive members of our society, unless we give them something worthwhile in return for that 10 percent tax.

I say we increase the role of local governance for their respective regions and standardize some things that haven't been done yet, so we don't have to fund a larger bureaucracy.

You decide to oversee the establishment of a state funded public education system for children ages 6-18....

It will take a year to get the new education system set up, with several schools being built, as well the hiring of teachers and administrative staff, taking several professors from our military academy helping to set it up....

In addition the education system teaches the children of Tarkon IV the history of their world and its role in the Imperium....

You have the education system push the idea of one Tarkonian people, all under your rule.....and thus also under the rule of the Emperor himself, whose will is carried out through the activities of the Adeptus Terra and the Inquisition

This is where the work of your propaganda department comes in, you emphasize the success and development Tarkon IV has had since coming under your rule....

The next generation will have more skills and knowledge of machinery, along with more advanced types of technology, they will also be indoctrinated about your greatness and will have greater loyalty than even their parent's generation who are already proving to be fairly loyal, as long as development continues and wealth continues growing at least.....

A few days later, a party from the Crusaders of Dorn arrives aboard their strike cruiser, the Righteous Fury dropping off a Sergeant O'Neill, while it carried their Chief Librarian, Brannock to Rorscha, in order to provide tutelage and guidance for Lyra, your sister, who currently is living as an unsanctioned psyker, well educated and capable, but still at risk, your father sent her to you, on the outer rim, where encounters with the Inquisition's infamous black ships are less common, as the sparsely populated frontier lacks the sheer populations to generate large numbers of psykers.....

You grant Sergeant O'Neill the rights and priveledges, offering him a luxury suite, but the Astartes warrior has refused your gesture and requests a simple bare room, where he can meditate and rest undisturbed, but he does agree to meet you for dinner in your massive luxury apartment on the space station....

Sergeant O’Neill tells you that his chapter was once given duties to crusade on the southern frontier of the imperium, reiving the emperors enemies beyond the borders of the imperium. They once possessed a mighty chapter fleet and owned an ancient and venerable battle barge that was lost in the eye of terror.....

They would like to become reinstated and clear their name, proving themselves not to be heretics, as they beleove the emeperors guidance is what saved them from dying/being corrupted in the warp
>>
>>2091613
The chapter, while fleet based, tended to recruit from the highland clans of hatteras iv, having a large chapter keep there and a highly active relationship with the locals....

Many of them carry an accent from that world and the chapters customary weapons, row handed power swords and chain swords are heavily influenced by the native claymore swords used by the hill clans

They strongly believe in the power of the emperor and have their astartes meditate before battle, often one is met by visions of the emperor, when this happens, that warrior is armed by the chaplain with the black sword of the emperor and the armor of faith, and expected to seek out the leaders and greatest warriors of the enemy and challenge them to single combat....

Sergeant O’Neill claims to have experienced the visions before a battle on goreaus prime, slaying an ork warboss there the next day in single combat.....

Emphasise that ultimately the planet and its people are our dominion but we'd be interested in helping to make it a marine world for the crusaders to have a permanent base of operations and the ability to recruit while working with our administration to push development and structure on planet. The people and planet will be our jurisdiction but the sanctioned land and recruited natives will fall under their rule, with the chapter being excempt from taxation in exchange for defending the planet. Ae wouldn't actually tax them anyway, make it come off as more of a gesture of working together

You make it clear to the Sergeant that you want to work with his chapter, to develop and defend Iban Secundus....

You ask him what happens to their aspirants who do not meet the requirements of the chapter.....

The Sergeant tells you that they are recruited into the ranks of the serfs as of now, repleneshing their ranks and providing laborers and support staff for the chapter and some would normally be converted into servitors, if their techpriest hadnt been killed during the escape from the warp....

They have not been in contact with anyone outside a few passing freighters and a Planetary defense force garrison in the nearby Joranis system, where the Chapter helped repel a pirate attack, boarding the two pirate ships involved and pressing them into their own chapter fleet...
>>
>>2091907
thats weird, I didnt type that first thing saying scotland....

He tells you that the Chapter has been laying low and focusing on recruiting and rebuilding after its escape from the Warp....

They are currently preparing a Great Reiving against the separatists, intending to blood their new initiates, who rather than forming a reserve company, as the codex dictates, are mixed into a "fighting company" with there being as many as 15 companies active during the height of the Chapters existence, as being a crusading chapter allowed them to have a higher than normal allowed number of Astartes....

The new initiates are expected to fight in close combat and are highly encouraged to build their own reputation, slaying powerful foes and looting as much as they can.....

Also mixed into each company are the Dornish Rangers, their elite veterans, equipped with the best ranged weapons and melee weapons of the Chapter, they are expected to intervene in the most critical moments of battle, and are often the first to respond to threats.....

There are also the Dornish Fusiliers, the regular tactical troops of the chapter, that make up the bulk of its forces...

Essentially Astartes rifle infantry, they provide diciplined accurate bolter fire, and can perform sophisticated tactical manuevers and survive attacks that would kill a mortal man, thanks to advanced training, power armor and their superhuman resilience and strength....
>>
>>2091941
Sergeant O'Neill will stay a few months as an official envoy, and has already made friends with Zachias, who he plans on sparring with later...

Things go back to normal on the station, with you getting the occasional update from Rorscha, that your sister's pysker training is going well, and that she is showing potential to be moderately powerful, and with strong mental dicipline could control her powers....

You also receive a courier ship from Inquisitor Lord Corean, who has made an official announcement regarding the mysterious grey Astartes fleet that came from the outer void....

Corean identifies them as the Carcharodons, and informs you and other loyalist leaders that they were called upon directly by the Adeptus Terra, to intervene against the seccessionists....

He warns any loyalists from approaching their ships and advises that you avoid fighting too closely too them, as they have a reputation for blood thirstyness and looting and have engaged local allied forces in the past....

Now that Xeroth has reached the rank of Magos, he has achieved a much higher degree of power in the Admech as well as having gained greater skills and expertise, and proposes several projects that would have mutual benefit....

The first will occur in two stages....

Xeroth has identified a large mineral rich asteroid in the outer belt in the system.... He recommends towing it into orbit and mining it, which would provide a major income boost for a 2-3 year period until the asteroid is depleted....

The second part of the plan is even more interesting....

Using the hollowed out asteroid, Xeroth believes you could dissassemble your space station, instead using components in it, to convert the Asteroid into a much larger, space station, capable of maintaining a population of a million people, as well as a massive base for you to use....

Existing space station upgrades would be upscaled to match the new asteroid base for example your Medical bay would be enlarged to a full scale hospital, and the Luxury suites would turn into a large section of massive luxury apartments for high ranking guests to stay in....

It could easily be fortified into a powerful space fort, and could have engines affixed to make it mobile....

He also has put forward a plan to colonize Tarkon V, and place a mining colony there, and in exchange for using your settlers and some of your money, he will provide the initial colony ship and settlement structures, as well as servitors and mining equipment...

He wants a 30% cut of the yields for his own personal projects....

A. Tow the asteriod into orbit and start mining (-2 TU, +5 TU/year), lasts 3 years
B. Ask him to make preparations to colonize Tarkon V...(-6 TU,+3 TU/year)

You decide to tell Xeroth to have the asteroid towed into orbit as soon as possible, allowing us to begin mining operations....

The Techpriest quickly responds, visting the astropath to send a message to the Forgeworld to acquire the mining equipment neccessary to exploit the riches of the asteroid....

There are a few days of hurried work as plans are made and miners and other personel found to work on the project, with a small pay boost and the opportunity to get void mining experience enough to attract the needed workers....

You are taking a late breakfast in your private quarters when you the alarms start blaring on the station, you quickly fork some scrambled egg into your mouth, and throw on some clothes and grab a breakfast roll and a strip of bacon on your way out, as your briskly walk to the command center...

A single contact is detected at the edge of system, looking to be from the a Dark Angels successor chapter, as your ships begin to move to react, it stays in the system for less than 10 minutes before promptly leaving...

You discuss what happened with your Naval officers and they believe they were likely scanning our system, keeping tabs on us since we picked up and disassembled their listening device that they left on the end of system....

While you can overpower the 3 Dark Angels strike cruisers listed to operating in the area, it makes you deeply uncomfortable that they are keeping the Tarkon System under watch.....

>>
>>2092145
When you go to meet xeroth the next day to discuss the Asteriod mining operation, he seems concerned and distracted, even more than the Techpriest is normally....

You soon find out that major doctrinal differences regarding the development and utilization of new technology and appropriated xenotech, with one faction, calling themselves the Cawlites, supports the development of new technology, despite its sometimes fickle and unpredictable nature, while the other faction is highly traditionalist and believes that new technology is an affront to the work of the Machine God and his holy STC artifacts he left behind.....
>>

Any quest that allows interaction with a female is that kind of a quest

Ehh, the rouge trader family was too shady. It was basically told to us he sells guns to chaos cultists and xeno.

Heh I never expected for you guys to get so invested in the romance subplot of the quest, although it hasn’t bee much of one, I’m still working on trying to learn how to properly write characters and dialogue

He might also be a pirate, how else would be getting all that imperial guard equipment all the time, and able to sell it for bargain basement prices....

Not really, we're trying to go up in the world, not be with special girl and get our dick wet. Plus we already have a harem of women since thread 1.
>Beta cuck
>over an imaginary girl in post board quest that we already had sex with anyway
That's gay anon

I forgot where I was, I should’ve known better....

its a secondary objective. a warrant of trade lets you get away with heresy, so it would have been really useful.
>That's gay anon
its about having the chad mindset.

It's fine that you feel like like inheriting the contract would have been better but either way we'd have gotten a ton from either marriage, it was a win/win and we chose already so you gotta let it go man.
>chad mindset
Wouldn't you want to go for the girl you didn't get with then?
>>
>>2098499
i meant that saying you dont think you can get that girl to marry you is a beta thing to say. a chad wouldnt say such a thing
>>
>>2098499
we are also kinda approaching levels of heresy where dont even the warrant of trade could save us from orbital *BLAM*
>>
>>2098514
I'm not saying we couldn't if tried, nust got to a point where it wouldn't have been worth it.
>>2098519
>Approaching
Kek, anon we've gone far past the line, nothing is going to protect us at this point. We're pretty much at do or die at this point, and this quest will either end with us being one of the most powerful/influential leaders in imperial space or with our head on a burning pike.
>>
>>2098560
depending on time of discovery we could also end up splitting from the imperium
>>
>>2098560
lets agree to disagree on wether it would have been worth it
i also think with a warrant of trade we would have been able to get away with harboring a psyker, producing Xeno-based weapons and the Super-Soldier-Program, so the only the space marine thing would fuck us.
but maybe i am just overestimating the warrant of trade
>>
>>2098576
Space marine is so bad they'd try to kill our whole family.
