"...Polnareff?" Jotaro says out loud, unsure of what to think about the frenchman walking towards him.

"There they are!" Joseph says to Kakyoin and Avdol, who where approaching Jotaro from the opposite direction. "We just have to wait for the ship to--" He stops himself after catching a glimpse of Polnareff as well.

"Bonjour, gentlemen." Polnareff says with a stoic look. "I believe i haven't thanked Jotaro properly for freeing me from Dio's spell yet."

"You dont have to." Jotaro bluntly says back to the white haired man, making him wince from the response.

"Alright then. I dont really want to sound pushy either. But there is something else i'd like to say." Polnareff raises one finger while looking at Joseph.

>Hello Polnareff.

It's best not to interrupt Polnareff at the moment. What he has to say is probably really important, so it'd be hard to think of something worth butting in his converation.

You stay silent and watch as Polnareff approaches the elderly man.

"Monsieur Joestar, I would like to ask you a very bizarre question. Forgive my curiosity, but i've noticed that you haven't taken off your gloves yet. Not even when you were eating back at the restaurant. Your left hand wouldnt happen to be a right hand. Would it?" He asks Joseph with an expression you'd expect Jotaro to use when he wants to intimidate someone.

"What? My left hand being a right one?" Joseph asks while looking at both his hands. "That is indeed a very bizarre question. What do you mean by that?"

Polnareff sighs whle keeping his intimidating gaze.

"The man who murdered my sister... I never saw his face. But i know he has two right arms."

Joseph apprehensively stares back at Polnareff while taking off the glove from his left hand.

"I've lost my hand in an battle 50 years ago." He says while showing Polnareff the metallic prosthetic hand he's likely been using ever since his fight with Kars.

"...I see. I apologize for my rudeness then. Please forgive me." Polnareff apologizes in a softer tone, easing the tension from the atmosphere after realizing Joseph wasnt the man he was looking for.

>What exactly happened to your sister?

"Polnareff. If you don't mind me asking, could you tell us what happened with your sister?" Joseph asks to Polnareff, which turns around looks to the sea to start his story.

"It's been 3 years now... My younger sister Sherry was walking home from school with a classmate on a rainy day. We lived peacefully by the countryside back in France, so i was never really worried about her safety there. However, on that day, a man stood by the other side of the road with his back to them. Suddenly, as if cut down by a scythe, her classmate's chest was sliced open. And then...Sherry was brutally raped and murdered. I was all that man wanted, afterall... Barely escaping death. her friend somehow survived. While she didnt see his face, she told the authorities that the man had two right hands..."

Kakyoin and Jotaro seem to be at a loss for words after hearing the story. And while Joseph and Avdol are clearly shocked as well, they're trying their best to keep their composure and listen to the rest of the story.

"No one believed her testimony, but i did!" Polnareff bitterly shouts out while continuing the story "Because i believed that man may had a similar ability to the one i've kept as a secret from Sherry."

"He definetly was a stand user, then." Joseph concludes while hearing the story.

"I SWORE AN OATH!" Polnareff angrily shouts again while turning around to point at Joseph from an angle. "My sister's soul would not be able to rest unless that man atoned with his death! I will use my stand for retribution! I know i'll be able to find that bastard if i go along with you to Egypt! I've already made my decision."

After a brief moment of silence to digest the information, Kakyoin tries to get a sense on the group's thoughts.

"What should we do?"

>Why not let him join us? He'd be a very helpful ally.

>He's more than made his case at this point. We should help him out as best as we can.

>Can we really trust him? I dont think he'll be helping us after he finds the killer...

>I'm sorry, but we dont really have the time to help you out on this.
>>

Dio's already shown that he's collecting Stand Users of questionable morality to serve him, and suborning those who won't do so willingly. We're bound to run into his sister's killer sooner or later, so why not bring Polnareff along for the ride?
>>

>He's more than made his case at this point. We should help him out as best as we can.
>>
"You can bet that he's coming with us!" You enthusiastically say to your group. "Polnareff more than made his case at this point. We should help him out as best as we can."

Your words seem to give Polnareff a confident smile, and also probably swaying some of your friend's opinions.

"I have no objections." Avdol says.

"I'm sure he'd still want to come even if we said 'no'.'' Joseph chuckles after hearing what Avdol has to say.

"It's an honor!" Polnareff warmly says after being accepted by the group.

"Good grief. Don't get so emotional over this. Just come with us and get in the boat." Jotaro grunts after seeing his reaction.

"Oh come on, Jotaro. How can i not get emotional over this? Especially when a cute girl like Hitomi wants me to stay!" Polnareff responds on a happier tone, not even sounding like the same man that did that serious speech a few seconds ago. He's sure quick to change his mood...

This. Even if it's only an act, we have to do something to stay sane and make light of an otherwise very serious situation. Tugging at heartstrings isn't a bad plan.
>>
Also I just realized if we ever run into an Impostor scenario, us being the way we've been, one of the boys suddenly going super romantic on us would be a surefire sign they're not who they appear to be, especially if it's Jotaro.

"H-hey, why did you have to put it like that?" You nervously reply back to Polnareff with an awkward smile as you feel your face get even hotter than during your Hamon training last night.

Polnareff laughsat your response while gently placing a hand on your shoulder.

"See, Jotaro? It's all good! No need to be so abrasive." Polnareff says while keeping his friendly smile.

"Don't mind him, Polnareff." Joseph says in Jotaro's defense. "I'm sure Jotaro will warm up to you eventually, he's just not very trustful of strangers. You can't really blame him considering our situation."

"Sorry to interrupt, but i think we should get in the boat now." Avdol says before Jotaro could respond. "Captain Tenille isnt going to wait forever, you know."

"...Alright then." Jotaro says, walking up to the boat alongside the group.

Well, that was a weird interaction, even for Jotaro.

...

After a brief salute by the ship's captain. You're informed that the trip from Hong Kong to Singapore will take around 3 days. That means you have plenty of free time, but you're not really sure on how to spend it.

Jotaro seems to be a bit on edge today. So you feel like it'd be nice to see what's going on with him, especially given how you havent talked to him that much during the past few days.

Jotaro is close to the deck, with another cigarrette in his mouth while staring at the sea. Jeez, already? Maybe it's a stress thing... He doesnt really seem to take his coat off either, even in a hot place like the this.

When you approach him, Jotaro takes his hat off and blows some of the smoke away from your direction.

"Hey. I'm sorry for being moody earlier today. I've received some bad news and i'm not dealing with it very well." Jotaro says in what sounds to be an apologetic tone.

Wait, is he really apologizing? This isnt something you'd expect out of Jotaro the delinquent, especially since he's already cursed at his mother without feeling sorry for it. By the way he communicates it doesnt even sound like he's sorry, it's more like he's ordering you something.

It's really hard to get a read on him, but you're still curious to know what exactly made him get stressed out.

"Don't worry about it." You reassure Jotaro. "I didn't take it personally."

"Good. I didn't know if you would, but so i had to ask." Jotaro says, looking a bit relieved from your response.

You sit alongside Jotaro and gaze out at the sea with him. He seems a man of few words, not really talking unless he feels like it, so you sdont really expect to have a long conversation and friendly with him like you did with Joseph. At least, not yet.

Seeing how he isnt really talking that much, you decide to focus a bit on that Hamon breathing you were trying to do yesterday. Jotaro moves a bit farther from you after hearing you breath, either out of discomfort or not wanting to interfere with his smoking habit.

It seems you've got the hang of it now, managing to focus your breathing for a good 5 minutes. The power rush seems a lot easier to control after the initial shock, and after realizing that, you've noticed how sensitive your body really becomes with this ability. You're able to feel every bump from the ship's boat. Every gust of wind blowing. Every footstep on the deck...

Nontheless, the breathing still takes a lot of energy from you, making you go out of breath after you hit the 5 minute mark. Oh well. It was still pretty fun to share some silent time with Jotaro, it's almost as if you can feel his real personality just by standing alongside him rather than talking to him and dig for answers...

"Hitomi. What do you think of the sea?" Jotaro suddenly speaks up, interrupting your train of thought.

The sea? Why is he asking this?

"If you had to choose a word to describe the sea, what would it be?"

Fascinating.

While we know a lot about the land above ground and the animals in shallow waters, there's still so much we don't know about the creatures that inhabit its deepest reaches. These animals live so casually in a lightless world with pressures that can easily crush any man-made object to date. It might be the only land that remains truly wild and unknown from mankind's perspective, despite us having lived on the same planet for millions of years.

"Mysterious." you say to Jotaro while watching the sea with him.

"What makes you say that?" Jotaro asks after trying to make sense of your words by himself.

"There's so much people don't know about the oceans, and what's inside of it. Looking down into the sea when you're out there in it, you can't see the bottom. There's so much beauty, but a lot of mystery. Anything could be there."

"Really?" He looks to you with a hint on surprise on his tone. "I also think that. But i wouldnt choose that word."

"What would it be,then?"

"Relaxing. I've received a call from my mother yesterday before going to bed. She was complaining about a fever and some minor headaches a few days before we got out of Japan. She said she wasnt feeling any better, so i was a bit worried. But ever since i've stopped to look at the sea, it's like all my problems seemed to fade away. Dio. My mother. being away from home. These problems all seem so small compared to how big the sea is."

"I'm sorry to hear that about Mrs. Holly..." You say to Jotaro. "Do you have any clue on why she's feeling sick?"

"Not really. The SpeedWagon Foundation's medical crew haven't found anything wrong with her yet. But i'm worried her condition might worsen if they dont find out."

That's something unexpected. Why would Holly feel sick out of a sudden? She seemed fine when you talked to her at the airport.

Unless...

"Do you think Dio or one of his underlings might be targeting her?"

The statement seemed to take Jotaro out of his relaxed state of mind.

"I haven't really thought of that. Maybe. I don't know if the SpeedWagon Foundation has any stand users to check her out. But since this was before we got out Japan, i don't think anyone is attacking her directly, especially if i'm the bigger threat out of me and her."

Jotaro inhales one last smoke from the cigarrete, trying not to think too much of that idea.

"Eitheir way, i just hope she is alright."

He puts out his cigarrete after finishing it. After that, he puts his hat back on and takes the cigarrette pack out of his pocket as if considering smoking another one.

"No. I've had enough of those for now. Do you feel like having one?"

"Ah, no thanks, i'm not interested. I have to be in top shape for Dio, you know." You politely refuse Jotaro's offer.

"We're both too young to be permanently winded by a few cigarretes, but suit yourself." Jotaro says, putting the pack back in his pocket.

"Why did you ask me for a smoke, anyways?" You ask him.

"You see, i've found a way to dinstinguish Stand users from other people. If they inhale the slightest bit of smoke, a vein pops up on the tip of their nose."

You instinctively place a hand on your nose, to see if there's any true to his statement, only to not feel any bumps on your nose. Weird, you've been close to him all this time while he was smoking, is he serious?

"No, i'm lying." He says to you "I've been pulling this trick on the crew members to see if anyone of them fall for it. Given how none of them reacted, i don't think there are any stand users in this boat."

That's a pretty smart trick if even you fell for it, is that the reason he's smoking so much lately?

"I dont think i have anything else to talk about. You're free to go if you want to. Thanks for listening."

Jotaro sits down and continues to look at the sea, watching the sunset with his usual stoic look.

After waving goodbye to Jotaro, a crew member informs you that they're already serving dinner, prompting you to go inside and eat something.

Avdol and Polnareff seem to be discussing something at a table alongide Josephm while Kakyoin savours a dish of lobster tails on another table.

Just like with Jotaro, it's been a while since you've talked to Kakyoin, so you guess he has a lot to talk about recent events.

After picking a dish, you sit alongside Kakyoin to eat with him, to which he greets you with a smile.

"Ah, hello Hitomi. How are you doing?" He says after you sit alongside him.

Maybe take out the 'kill us' part. Also, ask him if it's working or not.

"I've been a bit worried about Jotaro, actually..." You express your worries about your friend to Kakyoin.

"Is it because of Mrs Holly?" he surprises you by guessing what you were about to say. "Jotaro told me about her too. I told him it'd be best for him to take some time to reflect on his feeling by the deck since i didnt really know what to say to him."

So that's why Jotaro tried opening up on the deck... It's good to see he's getting along with Kakyoin these past few days.

"I didnt think we'd get along either. But he's a fun person to talk to once you get to know him. I was always afraid of him during classes, so it's good i got to bond with him in this trip.

"Still, I've been worried about a lot of things, really..." You say back to Jotaro "There's so much going on, and with people out to get us now, i'm trying my best to not let it get to me, you know?" You say while trying to hide the anxiety that comes over you when you think about all of those problems.

Kakyoin's expression turns into a more neutral one as you tell him of your other worries. After you're finished, he stops eating to place on hand on your shoulder.

"Hitomi, i know you're feeling anxious about all of this. But you can't let it get to you. We're all having a hard time preparing ourselves for Dio, but if we show him that we're afraid, it'll only make us more vulnerable. We all have eachother's backs on this journey because no one else will. I wouldnt even be here if Jotaro and you didnt save me from Dio's flesh bud, so if it comes down to it, i'd gladly help you two out the best i can."

>Thanks a lot, Kakyoin. I appreciate it.

"Thanks a lot, Kakyoin. I appreciate it." You thank him with a gentle smile.

"Don't worry about it. I'll be here whenever you need to talk." Kakyoin returns the smile as he goes back to eating his dish.

"Do you really think we have a chance against Dio though?" You ask, unsure of what to really think about Dio's power.

"I'm sure of it. If all of us manage to reach Cairo unscathed, Dio won't stand a chance!" He enthusiastically says, trying to cheer you up "We both Star Platinum, Silver Chariot and Karma Chameleon to beat him into submission, and you'll have my Hierophant Green and Avdol's Magician's Red to cover you up. And even if he managed to get away, we still have Joseph's Hermit Purple to track him down. No normal stand would be able to take all 6 of us at once. This time, he's going down for good."

You're pretty sure he's just exaggerating on how easy this will to build up your confidence, but you'de be damned if it this wasnt exactly what you needed to hear.

"...What am I saying? I already sound like I'm giving up, aren't I? Of course we have a chance. And I- no, we're- going to punch him in his stupid face. All of us. And it won't matter how powerful his stand is, we'll find a way!"

"That's the spirit, Hitomi." Kakyoin says after hearing your speech.

Kakyoin might not be as silent as Jotaro, but you can see he's always very thoughtful about what he speaks. He's definetly a smart man for his age, you just have to know what to talk to him about.

...

After you're both done with your meals Kakyoin asks you one last question before standing up and leaving.

"So, anything else you'd like to talk about?"

>Can i practice my stand with you tomorrow?

>Can we really trust Polnareff?

>Say goodbye and go to your room.

I doubt its possible, but I wonder if our stand can pass through the same kind of material as the thing it absorbed...
>>
You remember Avdol saying something about practicing with our stands to become better fighters, so ask Kakyoin if it'd be a good idea to try it out with an experienced stand user like Kakyoin.

"You mean like a sparring match? Sure, but i think its best if we save that for tomorrow, it's getting a bit late, and we need to get a good amount of sleep on this journey, but i'll be ready for you when the time comes."

Kakyoin stands up and leaves the table to go to his room, wishing you good night.

Well, things went pretty smoothly compared to yesterday. You've had a chance to know your classmates better and even made some progress at your Hamon while you were at it, and Kakyoin's speech really did make you feel better.

It'd be pretty hard to ruin a day like this, but given how unlucky the group has been so far when encountering stand users, you feel it's best to go to your room and sleep untilt he next day comes around, not really wanting to take a chance...

Practicing your stand with Kakyoin, huh? That does sound pretty fun. So it's best to go to bed as soon as possible, you can't wait for tomorrow to come.

>To be continued...

We should also see if our Stand is affected if we channel Hamon, or if there's a way we can channel Hamon through Karma Chameleon without touching it.

>>

Polnareff has a really big opinion of you and Jotaro for being strong enough to beat him and getting the flesh bud out of him respectively.

He's also doing very well with Joseph, sharing his humor and respecting his devotion to his family

He didnt had a chance to interact with Kakyoin yet so he cant say anything about him.

For some reason Pol seems to be mistrustful of Avdol, but he'll stay silent about it for now.

What's Joseph think of us and how were progressing? Also, whats our emergency stash looking like, in terms of money, rations, clothes, ect?
>>

As a stand user, he's pretty amazed after seeing what your stand is capable of after your fight against Silver Chariot. He takes it that with a few months of experience, you'll turn out to be one of the most powerful stand users he's seen.

As a Hamon user, he's unsure of what to think of given how your training has barely started, but he definetly sees a lot of potential in you.

As a person, You're probably one of the most fun persons to be around. He wasnt expecting to have such a pleasant time with someone your age, but now that he's warmed up to you, he's always ready to chat with you on his free time

You wake up at around 8 AM, a bit later than what you expected considering how early you went to bed.

After eating your breakfast, you remind yourself about the sparring match you agreed on doing with Kakyoin, but maybe its a bit too early to go ask him about that, he's probably still a bit drowsy given how he was the last one to get out of his room.

Should you ask him to spar with you now?

>Sure. You're curious to see what he's capable of.

Fighting Kakyoin while he's sleepy wouldnt be really fair, you need to fight him at his peak to get a taste of what enemy stand users are capable of.

You let him be for now, maybe you'll ask him in an hour or two.

Alright then, that gives you plenty of time to do something else. What will it be?

If Kakyoin plans on fighting seriously, chances are he's going to attack your body rather than your stand.

If that's the case, its best to train your Hamon while you're at it.

Feeling very confident on your breathing while standing still, you decide to practice your breathing while doing a few exercises around the deck, starting out with some jumping jacks.

After doing around 15 pretty comfortably, you try to concentrate on breathing with your Hamon technique, to which you have mixed results.

The Hamon flowing through your body completely alleviates the tension on your muscles, making you speed up your pacing while feeling no pain at all.

Unfortunately, the tide seems to be stronger than yesterday, making the boat bump a lot while you're trying to concentrate. You thought that wouldnt take a toll on you, but eventually one of the bumps made you gasp in surprise, causing you to lose the rythm on your breathing.

You try to gain some air back before your feet hit the ground, only for to fall on your feet with no effect.

Weird, that should have hurt, but you cant say you've been feeling any different than when you started exercising. Maybe the healing factor Joseph said came in after you got accostumed to breathing regularly.

Speaking of Joseph, he seems to be walking around the deck, as if looking for something before noticing you and helping you get back on your feet.

"Yo, Hitomi. Having trouble with your workout? The tide does seem pretty strong today..."

"Thank you, Mr Joestar." You say after getting back on your feet.

"No problem, kid." Joseph quickly replies while still looking around the deck.

"Are you looking for something?" You ask, noticing his odd behaviour.

"Yeah. I've been looking for Captain Tennille for a while now to talk about our arrival in Singapore, but i haven't seen him since breakfast, and the crew doesnt really now where he is either."

The ship's Captain is missing? That's definetly unexpected... What could have caused his disappearing?

"I just hope he shows up eventually, but for now i guess i'll just have t wait for him." Joseph shrugs off, sitting on a nearby chair .

"Can you help me out with my Hamon, then?" You ask the middle aged man.

"I've been having trouble focusing my breathing." You start explaining to Joseph. "Is there anything we can do to make this kind of breathing reflexive? It feels like i'm doing something wrong..."

"Well, it's hard to say without a demonstration. Would you mind showing me how you're doing it?"

A few Hamon charges later, Joseph gives you an honest answer.

"I wasnt expecting you to learn it so easily without any further advice. You're actually doing pretty good for someone who's starting out." he congratulates you with a confident smile. "Don't worry, Hamon breathing is all about practicing. It's the reason i never got good at it by myself, i had to train with the best Hamon masters for a month to reach my peak! That's why i havent really bothered with my training after beating Kars."

Still, there has to be something other than breathing to this...

"Do you have any advice for being able to manage both Hamon breathing and fighting while using my Stand to attack at the same time?" You ask Joseph. "I've arranged to practice fighting with my stand with Kakyoin, so i wanted to know if there's anything else to Hamon other than breathing..."

"While you havent really mastered your breathing, it's possible you can do a few Overdrives whith your charges..." He informs while scratching his beard.

Overdrives?

"Yeah, it's what you call when you charge an object with Hamon by touching it. you can bend a lot of the object's properties to your favor in a fight as long as you know what they can do. It's not something you'll do in rapid sucession with your current breathing, but i think you can give Kakyoin a good surprise if you get a charge or two while fighting."

Interesting, that's something that could synergize well with Karma Chameleon...

Before you could plan any strategies, Kakyoin appears from the other side of the deck, friendly waving at you.

>Approach him and tell him you're ready to spar.

>Ask for more some more time before fighting. You need to see if you can pull off an Overdrive.

Hierophant Green's tentacles spread throughout the entire deck while having his elongated torso charge up an Emerald Splash.

Does he really think this repeated trick will work? Well, you might as well bait him for an attack...

You close your eyes and try to get a good charge with your Hamon. Kakyoin most likely thinks you're opening yourself up, not knowing how sensitive this technique makes you to your surroundings.

"Emerald Splash!"

Figures.

Summoning Karma Chameleon, you have her lift you up and throw you up a few meters into the sky, by having yours tand fade out just before the oncoming barrage emeralds manage to hit you proves to be astoundingly sucessful, as you see the hundreds of emeralds shoot off into the sea.

"What!?" Kakyoin exclaims while he tries to hit you while you're falling back into the ship, only for Karma to leap to where you are and pull you to the ground, completely avoiding his onslaught.

Amzingly enough, you were still able to focus on your breathing during all of that. That's probably more than enough for an overdrive...

Kakyoin has Hierophant's torso aiming down at you while unraveling more of his body.

You reach up to Kakyoin and give all of your Hamon charges to Karma Chameleon. Since she's not able to produce Hamon on her own, you might as well empower her attacks and absorbing properties with your breathing.

Karma stretches her body out to protect you from Hierophant's emerald splash. However, the durability from your stand mixed with your Hamon still isnt enough to completely shrug off Kakyoin's attack.

The emeralds hit Karma's back with full force, and the crippling pain transfered to your body makes you feel like you've just been shot by a machine gun as you start coughing up blood from your mouth, you doubt you'll be able to Hamon breathe again due to the impact of this attack.

"Feel free to give up if you want. Hierophant's emerald splash isnt something you can take very lightly." Kakyoin smugly says while approaching his tentacles to your limbs.

The pain from your ribs is almost unbearable, it's possible his attack might even have shattered a few of them. But your stand can probably still do something, especially with that Hamon charge...

With one swift punch to Hierophant's throat, Kakyoin starts to convulse as the energy from the overdrive passes from your stand to his. As Hierophant green's tentacles begin to ravel back to his original form, you grab Kakyoin's stand with Karma's four arms and throw him to the ground with all your might.

"What's going on here, Mr Joestar?" Avdol sprints to the deck with Jotaro and Polnareff, all of them with their stands out.

"Easy now! Hitomi and Kakyoin are just sparring with their stands." Joseph tries to explain to your worried traveling partners.

"It looks a bit too violent for just a friendly sparring match. Arent they supposed to be holding back?" Polnareff expresses his fears, looking a bit shocked.

"Who's winning?" Jotaro asks his grandfather, seeming relieved after hearing the good news.

"It's a close match, but Hitomi is starting to gain the upper hand on Kakyoin." Joseph says while watching the rest of the fight.

You walk next to Kakyoin, who seems pretty worn out after being on the receiving end of a powerful Hamon charge followed by tumbling into the ground.

"Do you give up?" You ask Kakyoin.

"Not yet..." He says with a smile, pointing behind you.

You sucessfully manage to grab most of the oncoming tentacles with ease, seemingly stopping Kakyoin from grabbing you with his Hierophant.

To your surprise however, one tentacle managed to slip out from Karma's hand, and instead of it trying to bind you, it tries to go inside your mouth.

Wait,what?

"My stand is also able to slide inside a person's body to control them." Kakyoin explains while standing up. "I might not be able to make you admit defeat by yourself, but maybe if i make you say 'i give up', that'll probably count as a victory for me,right?"

You swiftly grab the remaining tentacle before he manages to control your body, but by that point, it's already reached the inside of your mouth.

Try as you might, you're not able to get a solid grip on Hierophant's jelly-like coil as he slowly but surely slides further in, reaching the back of your throat.

Before Kakyoin could make you admit defeat, a humanoid stand with aquatic features appears, grabbing Kakyoin with ease.

"Fools!" The stand shouts out to your group. "Did you really think you were safe out in the ocean? Your little sparring match did nothing but seal your doom, Kakyoin!"

"An enemy stand? Here?" Polnareff shouts out in confusion.

"You bastard..." Jotaro curses out to the unidentified stand user while summoning Star Platinum again.

You look down at Kakyoin and reach out a hand for him with Karma Chameleon, intending to pull him up.

Before you managed to reach your hand to your fellow classmate, you notice a gray colored residue in Kakyoin's hand.

"Kakyoin, wait! What's that thing on your hand?"

Kakyoin then confusedly looks up to his hands, noticing the residue slowly growing up to his arms.

"Barnacles!?" he exclaims as the acorn barnacles attaches itself to the boat, making Kakyoin's arm twitch in response.

"He's dragging me down!" Kakyoin helplessly shouts while falling into the ocean.

"We gotta help him out!" Polnareff says to the other members of the group.

"Wait!" Avdol warns Polnareff, noticing the odd movement of the waves.

"A whirlpool!?" Joseph says, noticing the giant whirlpool forming where Kakyoin and the stand fell on.

So he's able to controll the water too? How will Kakyoin get out of this mess?

>Screw it, jump in and help him out.

>Wait for him to come up
>>
>>2087302
Let's see... can we get hierophant green to unravel as a rope or use hermit purple to tie ourselves to while we jump down? Maybe we can use hamon to stand on the water, although might not be the best idea. Could have the other two try and pull him up too.

Perhaps we could turn the barnacles into something else using our S T A N D?
>>
>>2087323
HG got dragged down along with Kakyoin and HP might not have enough strength to withstand a whirlpool, but feel free to think of something else to do with the anons if you feel like jumping right in might not be the best idea
>>
>>2087359
What's around and on us atm?
>>
Just realized if we turn the barnacles into wood, Kakyoin and HG will float up to the surface of the water.
>>
>>2087366
Your clothes are made out of cloth and wool. You always carry your old wodden doll Charlotte in case you ever need her. By the side of the boat you can see the walls made out of metal, a reinforced glass window, a nearby thrash can and something shiny floating by the whirlpool
>>
>>2087384
So, if we turned one of those walls to cloth, would the texture carry over? Or is it just a solid wall of fiber, rather than interwoven textures? Or is that selectable? Because I'm thinking we could make a wall cloth and tear it out, turn the strings of the cloth back to metal so we gave some kind of metal mesh to hang onto while jumping down.
>>
>>2087398
Could also try the wood thing the other anon mentioned, although he might still get sucked down by the whirlpool
>>
>>2087384
I say we turn the trash can into wood, now we have an improvised lifesaver
>>
>>2087406
That'd be kinda awkward to deal with, given the shape of a trashcan. Maybe we can just use it on an article of clothing instead.
>>
>>2087398
>>2087406

If we can get our hands on some cooking oil or something, we could try testing out the limits of our converting power. If it works correctly, a lot of the ocean will turn into oil, and the enemy stand might not be able to whirlpool anymore. However, I'm not sure how buoyant people are relative to oil. We'll also probably need to convert the oil back into seawater otherwise we'd cause a wildlife disaster.

If we absorb cloth, we can probably turn the barnacles into cloth.

Hamon is extremely effective in water, but there's a lot of it around, so it's not going to travel very far before it dissipates. In addition, Hitomi is still injured from the sparring match, and the description said that she might not be able to do Hamon breathing very easily afterwards. We are probably going to have and use our noodle for this, as we don't have Araki around to give us a new power out of nowhere like Star Platinum does.

I doubt we could pull it off now, but since you said it was going to be next to impossible to pull off the red stone laser plan, could we do something less destructive through glass, like bubble lenses? Like, turn our stand to glass, and have it refact inside to make a laser, or shine a light through the head, have if focus through an eye, and then refact it stronger though the hands? Like putting four hands in front of the eye to make a ranged beam attack.
>>
While placing a hand on your shirt, you let Karma CHameleon absorb the cloth from it.

Using your stand to turn a metal bar into cloth, you strap one end of the cloth into the side of the beat and the other one around your waist.

This might just work, but you're afraid you're a bit too vulnerable while hanging in this thing...

"Hey, Hitomi! What are you doing? HEY!" Polnareff worriedly exclaims after noticing you jumping down to the whirlpool.

Just before you manage to reach the water, you managed to get a closer look at the shiny things floating in the water.

Scales.

By the speed that they're going for, they're probably sharp enough to sever an artery if you dive in right now. Even disregarding that, your rope probably wouldnt last long after you dived...

>Try to grab some of the scales, maybe you can absorb them to harden the rope along with your stand.

"Life Magnetism Overdrive!" You shout out while placing both your hands on the center of the whirlpool after charging your Hamon.

The scales from the whirlpool come out of the water as soon as your place your hands on it.

This can't be good...

You wince back and brace for the impact. Only to realize the barnacles are magnetizing into eachother to form a big shield for you to stand on. Now, the surface seems to be completely scale-free.

But what about the whirpool?

You haven't even realized it, but the Overdrive from your scales amplified your Hamon into the water, which completely negated the enemy's powerful rotation due to the sheer amount of energy placed on top of it.

You consider diving into the water to help Kakyoin, only to see some bubbles forming in the distance...

You hear a muffled "Emerald Splash" shout, as a figure resembling Captain Tennille come flying out of the water towards the sky.

"Get him, Hitomi!" You hear as Hierophant Green's head pops out of the water, seemingly freed from the barnacles in his body.

Surely enough, you pick up his lead try to control the scales to move closer to the stand user, only for them shoot towards them at an incredible speed.

The scales slash away and pierce his body with ease, prompting him to faint the blood loss after screaming in agony.

September 4th, 1988.

Enemy Stand User: Imposter Captain Tennille, retired.

The DCs lower slightly depending on how practical your current action appears to be during your fights. Sure, you might be able to pull a Joseph here and there if you wish to do so, but i it'll be easier to play safe and dont do anything that sounds too risky

Shortly after the enemy stand user was knocked out, you could see Kakyoin rising up to the surface, gasping for air while trying to swim over to where you are.

"Good...Good Job..." He says while panting, visibly tired after the two previous fights and with some minor injuries all over his body.

"Hell Yeah!" Polnareff enthusiastically fist pumps after seeing the outcome of the fight.

"Good grief, i can't believe that actually worked..." Jotaro states with a hint of surprise.

"It's amazing how Hitomi always manages to surprise us when we least expect her to. Aint that right Mr. Joestar?" Avdol says to his middle aged comrade.

You place one of his arms over your shoulder and do your best to carry him over to the boat while swimming, a gesture which he seems to appreciate given the kind smile he gave you.

"Alright, you two." Joseph says while grabbing a life preserver and aiming it at where you stood. "Hurry up and--"

A big explosion followed by a dzen more start to destroy the interior of the boat, making it slowly start to sink.

"Bombs!?" Polnareff is the first to react to the boat's destruction.

"The stand user must have placed them in case his plan failed..." Kakyoin murmurs while still trying to catch his breath.

"Hurry up and get the emergency boats out!" Avdol orders the remaining crew from the SpeedWagon Foundation.

You place the injured Kakyoin on the boat with Joseph and the crew members, hoping he stays safe there while you wait for another boat to arrive.

And sure enough, Polnareff is quick to pull you up into the boat where Jotaro and Avdol were standing in.

The ship comes tumbling down as the explosions start to fade away, and while most of the crew members managed to get away safely, you're pretty sure you could see some scorched bodies floating close to the the boat's remains.

You look over to the crew's corpses and realize how grim the situation really is against Dio and the enemy stand users. You don't seem to be able to move your eyes away from the destroyed ship, all of those innocent lives, completely wasted due to being involved with you and your group.

You try your best not to cry at this horrible sight, but soon after realizing that could soon be you, Jotaro, or any of the friends you're making on this journey makes you shed a tear for them, followed by another one, and another...

You cover your face while losing control of your tear ducts. What if that's eventually how you're all gonna turn out to be? What if Dio really is as powerful as he appears to be? And even if you win, what really guarantees that all of you are going to return safely back home? What if...

"Hey now..." You hear Avdol say while placing on your shoulder, pulling what appears to be a hankerchief out of his robes.

You wipe out your tears with it after thanking Avdol for the kind gesture. Surely, that has to be a way for everyone to come out of this safely, right? ...Right...?

You hear a bang coming from the other boat, which appears to be from a flare gun from the crewmembers, Kakyoin seems to be taken care of by one of the guys from the medical staff, while Joseph seems to be pulling up a map.

The mood for the rest of the day seems to be really grim, the previous happines coming from the triumph of the enemy stand user seemingly overshadowed by the loss of the innocent. Jotaro and the others have some smalltalk between themselves every now and then, but aside from that, all the breaks the silence are the sounds from the ocean...

>Just caught up

With our MC's astonishing growth rate, has any of our companions started thinking that we maybe a plant from the enemy side?
>>
>>2089346
Why would they? You helped them take out 4 stand users so far and befriended 2 of them in the process. They're also in pretty good terms to you as far as it seems.
>>
>>2089346
I doubt it. It'd be easy enough to pull up our records, and we basically had no contact with Dio before and after he shanked us. the hospital records would be simple enough to get. Maybe in that time he could have swayed us to his side? but it's highly unlikely. And considering our talent with hamon, that makes it even more unlikely.
>>
>>2089346
Fairly certain that Kakyoin would back us up based on history, Jotaro would shrug and deal with it later, Polnareff is a little too simple to think that way, and Joseph would only have the slightest of reasons to be suspicious. Not like we could have a flesh bud if we channel Hamon, so either we're a traitor of our own will or we'd be blackmailed, and nothing we've done should give him cause for concern.

But who knows? There could be a misunderstanding.
>>
Predictions:
Joseph will brush up on hamon again, realizing its use even in stand fights.
Others may be inspired to use their stands for mobility cheating like hitomi did, resulting in overall better stand fighting.
>>
>>2089359

The fish scale shield that Hitomi gathered using Hamon is definitive proof that Hamon works on stands. Thus, a Hamon-charged rope could conceivably restrain a stand even if the only thing that's hurting it is the hamon charge itself.

Combine that with Hermit Purple and Joseph being inspired to get out of his support role mentality, and you've got a recipe for the return of his Battle Tendency-tier shenanigans.

September 6th, 1988.

You wake up to realize you're still on the sea, Joseph said something about about another ship coming today, but you weren't really paying attention.

After what seems to be an eternity, Your mood finally starts to pick up again. You've been feeling oddly numb ever since the boat incident, your friends did your best to cheer you up on the following day, but they noticed that you needed some time alone to rationalize your thoughts, which seems to be working out so far.

Kakyoin and Joseph came back to your boat yesterday after the crew members treated your classmate's wounds, While not in his 100%, he seems to be still able to carry on the journey without any serious issues.

Everyone from your group seems to be here, is there anything you want to say to them?

>Thank them all for trying to cheer you up.

>Ask Kakyoin what happened during the fight against that stand user.

>Ask Joseph when the ship's going to come.

>Write-in.

>Keep quiet and wait for the ship.

Thats an option. Doubt anyone has the ability to navigate, though. Actually, Joseph probably would be able to, now that I think about it, with his stand... boat race/chase maybe?
>>
>>2089364
Not quite, the reason Life Magnetism Overdrive attracted the scales was because the stand was able to create physical living scales with his stand.

Stands are still ghost like entities, they wont be affected directly by Hamon unless Hitomi or Joseph transfer them using their stands, trying to hit them directly with an overdrive would be completely useless

You talk to your comrades and tell them you appreciate their effort on trying to cheer you up, even though it didnt work as well as it should.

"Don't mention it." Jotaro answers after filling a water canteen.

"It's important to not let this journey damage our psyche" Avdol explains himself. "Keeping ourselves in check is key--"

"And we wouldnt want to see a cheerful girl like you down either." Polnareff is quick to interrupt Avdol to express his opinion.

"It's the least we could do after all you went through." Kakyoin says, still expressing his grattitude from your help.

Speaking of that, you never got to listen to what happened to Kakyoin when he was fighting. Maybe he did explain, but you probably wasnt paying attention to it...

"The stand user was an imposter, pretending to be Captain Tennille. He planned on killing us one by one during our sleep with his stand Dark Blue Moon, but after hearing about our sparring match he decided to wait for an oportunity to strike at us. After he dragged me down into the water, he incapacitaded my stand with the barnacles he created and made that whirlpool whith the scales coming from his body, preventing anyone from jumping in. That's where you came along and took the scales out of the whirpool, along with removing some of the barnacles from my Hierophant. That was enough for me to give him a powerful emerald splash to the face and rise up to the surface."

>Why where you bleeding so much then?

>What happened to the real Captain Tennile?

let's play off his pride a bit. Hopefully a small, insignificant argument might be neough to raise the mood ssome more and take the edge off what just happened. No. You've had 2 days of grieving, let's not get back to that mood just yet.

"So who won our sparring match, Kakyoin?" You ask in bubbly tone in an attempt to not ruin the mood. "It was me, right?"

Kakyoin gives a quick laugh at your question, mildly surprised by the change in your mood.

"I dont know, actually. I could probably have won by forcing you to give up, but you had the upper hand during the majority of the fight. Should we call it a stalemate, then?"

"Why dont we ask what the group thinks about that?" You confidently ask for the opinion of your comrades for a final veridict.

"If Kakyoin was a real enemy stand user, he would probably have ended the fight the moment Hierophant Green entered Hitomi's mouth." Jotaro voices his opinion.

"Yeah, but you could say the same thing about Hitomi if she felt like knocking his teeth out." Polnareff counters Jotaro's point. "Even then, wouldnt Hitomi be able to use her Hamon thingy to force Hierophant Green out of her body?"

"But what would stop Kakyoin from control her breathing?" Avdol points out. "If Hierophant can make her say 'I give up.' it's safe to say he can stop her from breathing..."

"Old man, what's your take on this?" Jotaro asks for his grandfather's prespective.

"Well, for starters. Hitomi--" Joseph begins his speech, only for it to be completely muted over the sound of a ship horn.

"What was that? I couldnt hear you over my eardrums being pierced!" Polnareff shouts after covering his ears.

Wait. A ship horn?

"Should we wait for them to help us out or...?" You catiously ask your group.

"The ramp from the side is down." A crew member from the previous boat points out. "Follow us."

"Why would they send us a cruiser for a stealthy trip like this?" Joseph asks.

"Old man, that's a freighter." Jotaro corrects him on the type of the ship in front of them.

As soon as boat comes in contact with the ramp, Polnareff is the first to jump in.

"They came this far to rescue us, didnt they? It could be an aircraft carrier for all i care!"

...

After exploring the freighter's exterior, you start feel uneasy at how empty this ship is. There doesnt seem to be a single person inside this place before you came over. Despite all of that, the ship appears to be completely functional by itself.

"Nope. Haven't found anyone downstairs either..." Kakyoin speaks over to the group.

"Then that just leaves us with the pilothouse" Joseph explains after taking a last look around the deck. "We'll check in to see if the captain's there. Are you coming Avdol?"

"I'll stay here with the crew in case they need anything." Avdol concludes before moving over to where the Speedwagon Foundation members were.

You decide to approach the remaining crew members from Captain Tennille's ship. Since they're all probably more experienced with exploring the sea, they might have something important to say about this ship. If not, at least you would be able to hear things from a different perspective.

"I dont get it. Why would the Foundation send a freighter for them?" You hear a short man speak to his coworkers.

"Maybe they didnt have another ship to send here?" An younger man tries to think of an answer.

"Don't be foolish! This is the Speedwagon Foundation we're talking about here." Surely then could send a smaller boat for 15 passengers. Why bother with an empty freighter?"

While the discussion continues, it seems they are about just as clueless as you are about the current situation, so you sit back on a storage box while you wait for the others to come.

After some time, the crew members call Avdol to question him about a nearby crane that appeared to be broken.

Weird... is it supposed to be swinging around like that?

"Avdol! The crane!" You point out to the fortune teller, who notices the crane falling down on top of a sailor's head.

"Magician's Red!" Avdol shouts, summoning his stand just in time to catch the crane before it could pierce the young man's head. The wire twitches around as if trying to yank out Avdol's head.

"Why was that crane moving? No one was even touching it!" The scared man said as he slowly backed away from the crane.

Magician's Red burns the crane to a crisp. Just in time for Joseph and the rest to see the commotion and understand what was going on.

"Be careful! It's likely there's a stand user hiding somewhere in this ship." Joseph points out to the crew members "Don't touch any of the machinery, Don't even lay a finger on it if it moves or runs on electricity! Follow my orders if you want to live!"

After all the workers went away, Joseph approached you and Avdol along with the rest of the group.

"Did any of you see anything resembling a stand just now?" He asks.

"No..." Polnareff nervously admits.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Joestar. Even though i was the closest to the crane, i didnt see anything like it..." Avdol laments to admit the same.

"Mr. Joestar, let's keep our senses sharp with Hamon for now. Do you know any tricks that might help us find someone hidden on this ship?"

"I think i remember Caesar saying something about Hamon being able to detect enemies through walls if you had a glass of wine..." Joseph ponders to himself, having trouble remembering the exact quotes from what he learned 50 years ago. "Try to look for a small liquid container to use Hamon on, you'll be able to sense the enviroment a lot easier, but i think it only works if the enemy is close."

"In that case, i can use my Hierophant Green to look out for any suspicious activities around the ship." Kakyoin says, summoning out Hierophant Green and sending him into the freighter's interior.

"Have you guys found anyone in the pilothouse.?" You ask while Kakyoin is still searching.

"No. Just an orangutan." Jotaro bluntly says, almost as if it was a joke.

"The only living thing around turned out to be a monkey locked inside a cage, can you believe that?" Polnareff explains, unsure if he's even able to believe what he said.

A monkey? Why would an animal be around alone with a ship with a stand user? Wouldnt he be in danger alone against a stand user?

Alone against a stand user...

You quickly remember how Joseph ordered the crew members to go inside the ship, which could be very dangerous in case the stand user try to attack them.

"Damn, you're right!." Joseph scratches his head after admiting his mistake. "Fair enough then, it's best if one of us goes after them in case things turn sour."

But if you're not really able to see his stand, it's gonna be hard to fight him very well, you need someone to watch your back.

"I got ya!" Polnareff offers his help while summoning Silver Chariot. "With my stand's speed along with your adaptive abilities, no enemy stand user will bring us down!" He says while making his stand slash the air away with his rapier.

He's a bit too excited to accompany you, but i guess that'll have to do for now.

Could she absorb flesh?

What about materials that are actually smaller objects, like sand? Dies she becime silicate rock or a statue of sand grains?
>>
>>2090743
I believe flesh is viable.
Now, consider the applications of flesh-transformation. I wonder...if we could turn Joseph's metal hand into a real hand.
Or if we could use it for healing certain wounds - a bad enough burn, for instance, chemically alters the flesh. Altering it to healthy flesh could possibly heal it. Same goes for chemical injuries and the like. Only things I can't see it fixing are bone breaks, cuts, and the like. Though it could probably be used to instantly stem bleeding by converting the cut-open skin into closed skin.
Last but not least, there's the absolute weirdness of what the hell even happens if you do something like turn a realistic model of something into flesh.
>>
>>2091129
I doubt we could do a full heal. If we turned his arm to flesh, itd just be a slab of flesh, no bones to speak of. Could be able to heal minor cuts and the like by converting it to something easily repairable (like tree sap) pushing the area together and then converting back to flesh. Also, it'd have to depend on the kind of flesh, I suppose. You'd have to use something close to what you want to repair. Using a bit from the left arm to heal something on the right, for example
>>
>>2090743
Feel free to any of those out on the next session, water and sand are pretty abundant in this journey afterall.
>>
>>2091230
Another thing that might work with healing would be filling in a cut's space with something like antibiotic gel, making sure it's fully filled in and smooth with the skin, and then converting it to that person's flesh
>>
>>2091680
Of course, let's not forget that Hamon also can heal
>>
>>2091230
We could try doing things in layers. Pour in some clay or gel, shape it, turn it to muscle, then a layer of skin. That way it's not just a slab of flesh. I wouldn't want to fuck with bones or organs though.
If water turns out to work, we could make tons of blood for transfusions really easily.
>>
>>2091789
Hitomi as a vampire would be fucking terrifying to behold if she could turn things into blood.
>>
>>2091230
>>2091680
Well, it may or may not work. Could be the equivalent of putting a round peg in a round hole. It'll fit fine, but turn the thing upside down and the thing falls out of the hole. Like, we just fit a chunk shaped piece of flesh into the chunk and didn't connect the piece to the parts around it. Maybe karma chameleon could connect It somehow if there's similar structures to the thing it's converting? Not sure how it'd work...
>>

Hmmm... who knows? Just being purely theoretical, maybe we'll get karma chameleon act 2/3/4 or something like bites the dust that could have the ability to slowly change our body, if we happen to find some pillar man DNA. That's pretty Unlikely.

It's Joseph. I'm like 90% certain he would and just straight up forget unless it was pointed out to him. Don't take it though, wouldn't want to betray his trust in us.

>don't take it
I didn't say we would steal it. I was saying that we should ask him about it, slowly get him to trust us more, and ask him for it. The plan should work, especially if we act as his succesor since he is teaching us what he knows. Then we can do mask + mask + mask with aja which should make us ultimate

According to something Kars said in the anime, the entire reason he made another Stone Mask with the hole for the Red Stone of Aja was to empower the mask such that it would completely pierce their Pillarman brains. The base Stone Mask enables them to do all the things that Kars/Esidisi/Waamu/Santana can do, but it doesn't go quite far enough.

Presumably, the Stone Mask can already pierce human brains, which turns them into vampires. Regular humans seem to be like regular Pillar Men, but without the immortality and weakness to sunlight; thus, the stone mask imbues them with the same qualities that the stone mask bestows upon regular Pillar Men. An extraordinary vampire can exhibit extreme regeneration and body control characteristics if they get powerful enough, like Dio or Straizo. Dio was able to freeze things via body temperature control and survived being cut in half with a sword. Straizo survived and regenerated from being blasted apart by a grenade.

A Stone Mask powered by a Red Stone of Aja of sufficient size (a Super-Aja) is key to making a transformed Pillar Man into an Ultimate Life Form. This is basically evolving them from a Pillar-Vampire into the next logical step, but only because their brains are too tough to be pierced by any mask that doesn't have the Super-Aja that Kars was pursuing in JoJo part 2. It's not really clear if a Vampiric Human could benefit from the additional power from an Aja-powered mask, since nobody has tried that before.

That's why I said to use the mask twice. My reasoning is that the power hierarchy is human < vampire < pillar man < ultimate. And the fact that the mask + human = vampire and pillar man + aja mask = ultimate. So maybe vampire + mask = pillar man. Of so, all we would need is some aja and the aja mask in order to go ultimate.

He most likely bought a necklace similar to the one Caesar had to remind himself of his first meeting with his deceased friend.

Given how they had a month to interact with eachother, it's possible Caesar explained something about how jewerly can be a symbolic gift for a couple. I like to think he wears that as a replacement for an engagement ring just to pretend he's more loyal to Suzi than he actually is.

I believe that, once the ship sinks, he is no longer seen wearing it, or that outfit in general.
It's not like everyone had time to get their stuff from the ship, after all. He had been in a different outfit at the time of the ship sinking.
Aja or not, that necklace is probably at the bottom of the sea in some wreckage by now.

Not unless our stand reveals its secret ability: TIME TRAVEL
Because the character sheet still has a secret ability slot on it

Or if we go off of Karma Chameleon's name...

>Karma: the force generated by a person's actions held in Hinduism and Buddhism to perpetuate transmigration and in its ethical consequences to determine the nature of the person's next existence

>Chameleon: a person who often changes his or her beliefs or behavior in order to please others or to succeed

A basic interpretation would the ability to reincarnate into something specific despite having done enough things to deserve that position, if we go by a basic religious context. Perhaps a reincarnation ability that works like how the Stand Arrow did on Yoshikage Kira and gave him Bites the Dust?

If we spin that out into bizarre territory though, it could be bent into being able to relive other people's experiences and lives, and possibly glean memories and their experiences as a result?
