General Rules

15 min voting period after each main post. Write-ins votes are welcomed/encouraged. Votes that are non-contradictory and add to the narrative will be considered. Think 'Rule of Cool'

Combat mechanics/skill test will be done using best 3 out of 5 rolls of 1d100, unless otherwise specified. Modifiers may come into play depending on the MC's statistics which can improve odds and vice versa as the QM sees fit. The QM will do their best to inform players of when such modifiers will come up during votes. (Example: Aim at a target at long range with a scattershot weapon will require a higher roll to make a successful hit than a normal blaster weapon).

Training with other bots and successful missions can add to your overall abilities. Strong character relationships with your comrades can also benefit the MC as it will improve battle synergy and moral (less likely to want to fall back/retreat). Of course the vice versa can come into play as well. A failed mission may have consequences but result in unforeseen outcomes (In the show, Tarantulus, Blackarachnia, & Quickstrike were supposed to secure an energon post. The Maximals interfered, resulting in the loss of the post BUT Tarantulus gained a new lair.). A Predacon can always sabotage missions to make other bots look incompetent as well, just hope you’re persuasive enough to do so and watch out for those

Also keep an eye out at your energon build up levels; too much time in robot mode outside of a structure, such as a base can cause negative impacts on your combat maneuvers/skill test, including potential loss of spark. In the event of loss of spark, pending the results of a vote, a time lapse in the narrative will happen and a new stasis pod will fall. (Roll for new character or with a high relation level, a blank protoform will descend and your allies will reignite your spark)

A day has passed since your mission with Airazor and the data from the unknown anomaly the two of you discovered. While you weren't able to assess the source of the reading, you were able to bring back some intel which may prove useful in the future. Additionally the two of you found some deposits of stable energon, which should go a long way to help things around the base. As an added bonus, you were able to get some interesting information out of Waspinator by chance encounter with him in the location. Fortunately it didn't sound like the Predacon's were knowledgeable of the alien anomaly. To say the least, Optimus was very impressed with the two of you.

You're in prime condition for the new day. Weapons charged, with a few extra ammo packs and energon levels good to go. You'll expect Optimus will still have a few more of those missions ready for you. Did you want to take care of anything before you report to the command center.

>Look around for one of you fellow Maximals to talk with (specify)

You activate your comlink. "Nightracer to Optimus."

You feel that outside of mission related work, you haven't really spoken with or bonded at all with Optimus Primal. Perhaps you can catch him not being too busy.

"Optimus here."

"I was hoping we could talk. Got a bit?"

"I can spare sometime. Meet me up by the observation deck. Optimus out."

Moving out of the crew quarters, you head towards the observation deck. You've been told some of the Maximals, namely Optimus and Rhinox seem to enjoy the area as a lounge. It has a large view port to the outdoors and a few planet samples that break up the dark spectrum of metallic greys of the ship.

You pass by the command center. Cheetor is speaking with Rhinox about some device in his hand. The Rhino seems to be going over the finer details of the device, but Cheetor does become a tad distracted when you come in. You give the kid a quick wave as Rhinox shakes his head, which you return with an apologetic nod as you continue towards meeting up with Optimus.

You stand infront of the door way and press a button. A faint chime rings.

"Come in." Optimus calls out from the other side of the door.

Pressing another button, the door slides open allowing you to enter. Optimus in beast mode in laying in a hammock that swings between two trees, presumably samples taken, though clearly given function. He has two data pads laying on his chest and a data pad in each hand, err foot...whatever.

"I'm not interrupting anything am I?"

"Not at all. I welcome the distraction." He gathers up the data pads. "So, what can I do for you?"

"Well I had a few questions, for you. I was hoping to just enjoy a conversation that didn't need to be work related."

"Of course." He sets the data pads asside, on a small table. "Fire away."

"Uh, What's your policy on defecting Predacons? Or Predacons that someone might think could be turned?" You inquire. "Asking for a friend..."

His ape face seems confused. "Um well, thats a bit unexpected of a question. Though...maybe i shouldn't sound too suprise." He swings the hammock a bit more, allowing him to slide out on his hands and feet. "This 'friend'....they think one of the Predacon's is willing to switch sides?"

Your feathers fidgit a bit; you're feeling a bit childish asking this way but you wanted to be sure. "Well, I was just wondering if there was a policy in place or something. I know Dinobot was a former Predacon so I was wondering if there was some sort of process or something."

"Dont you mean your friend was wondering..."

Eep. "Y-yes. So...is there one?"

Optimus rubs his chin. "Well I can't say there is one per say. Dinobot was a bit of a unique circumstance. If they were genuine in making the choice to leave Megatron's forces and were willing to work together without any compromising stipulations...." He pauses briefily "I dont see a reason why not to give them a chance."

Well, thats promising.

"Of course, we've little reason to believe at the moment that any of them have any reason to switch sides." He looks at you with some questioning concern. "Be sure to tell your friend to be careful that its not some ploy if this has come up. The Predacon's are a shifty lot and might be trying to lead them into a trap."

"Right. Good advice." You say sheepishly and quickly move to a new topic. "So what do are your plans to do when this whole debacle is over and we've defeated the Preds?"

"Well, thats the trick isn't it. The most sensible thing to do would be going back to Cybertron. Ideally, though after Cyberton, I'd like to get back to the original mission for the Axalon: Exploration of new worlds. Its what most of us signed up for when we first got here. I'd imagine you did as well."

(Pt. 1)
>>
Makes sense. You have a bit of wanderlust, but you've never really given much thought to what your old life could have been. Just the familiarity you feel from certain situations. Maybe some self discovery is in order? Hmm.

"Well then what can you tell me about yourself?"

"Me? Um well, i'm fairly new to the whole military thing. The Axalon is my first official command. I'm not quite the same as my 'namesake' though i'm sure some of the others might disagree. I try to embody some of the more noble aspects, but I like to be flexible with my crew. I'll never give an order that I wouldn't do myself for one. And according to Rattrap, I'm pretty big on speeches." He smiles with a shrug and chuckle.

You're in a bit of stunned silence, you'd never expect that he was an inexperienced leader by the way he carries himself. He's definitely more down-to-Cyberton than you'd expect from a commanding officer.

"Was their anything else?"

>Do we have any heavy equipment or industrial machines like the predicons have?
>Any advice you can offer

"During our mission through the Predacon, they seemed to have heavy equipment/industrial machines. Do we have any means similar or access to this kind of gear?"

Optimus frowns. "In a sense, yes but not quite. We dont have the actual equipment and I highly doubt that the Predacons had something like that on their ship, your report said there was energon and iron deposits. Its likely they constructed it with the planets raw materials."

"Can we do the same?"

"Of course, Rhinox and Rattrap to a degree can construct such equipment, if necessary. Though strip mining isn't exactly what we came here to do. Part of the mission is to observe, document and maintain an invisible presence when exploring. That said this isn't the same mission any of us signed up for."

"Last question, anything important I should know about the others? Personality wise?"

He rubs his chin.

>Rattrap, what's his deal

You place your hands on your hips. "Rattrap. What's his deal?"

Optimus chuckles. "Oh don't mind him. He's harmless. Well as long as you're not a Predacon. He's got a lot more experience than he lets on, though that's partially why he sarcastic and rude. That and I think the paranoia stems from his espionage training."

"Hard to seem him of all people as a spy, with his big mouth," you overly dramatize. "and the smell Ugh."

The ape laughs. "I'll never understand that either. Though i guess it helps with when you're sent in deep in enemy territory, sticking to the back alleys. That said, he's not a coward. He's actually pretty capable warrior."

"Really? huh." While you'd definitely agree with the rude and sarcasm, warrior isn't something you'd normally attribute to him. "Anything else?"

"Well if you can put up with him, and are ok with losing a few credits," he smirks. "If you're interested in talking to him, he's partial to gambling. I'd say watch for his insults, but i've already seen you give him a run for his money on that front."

"So, what d'ya think you'll do when we get ourselves back to Cybertron? Think you'll take a long spell of a long spell of R&R, or do you want to get right back out there and explore the stars?"

"Really it depends on how long this fight will take. I try not to think about it too much, but if i had to choose," He looks upwards. "Getting back on mission of galactic exploration does sound nice. Then again, we've been able to make the most of this unknown planet. So I guess..some down time on Cybertron doesn't sound too bad after all."

Hmm, you guess you can understand his response. A strange planet that you had no intention of landing on is exploration, but the constant fighting definitely gets in the way.

"But those are thoughts for another time. We need a working ship first, so dont starting making resort plans on Cybertron."

Heh.

"Copy that. That'll be all Optimus. Unless you have a new mission?"

"I guess I'll take my turn on Scanner Duty."

"I'm sure Rhinox will appreciate it. He's been wanting to get to working on some of the base defenses for a while now."

Ah, thats right. Hmmm, so much for just kicking back in the comfy chair. Though atleast you'll have a massive ship with a giant energy shield between you and anyone trying to shoot you.

Optimus continues. "You do have a bit of down time before the shift starts. I'll be assigning the others to a few task. Your primary objective will be to keep an eye out for any Predacon activity near the base and relaying any incoming transmissions between our fellow maximals. Now this is important: You can't leave the base without informing Rhinox. Make sure he's here to relieve you if you are needed to assist any of our members."

>Ask around about those symbols you found, Airazor told you a little bit, but didn't know much

"I'm curious, will I be assisting Rhinox as well with his work? I just figured Sentinel could handle most of the dirty work right?"

Optimus folds his arm, resting one hand on his chin, "Well that is namely what Sentinel was built for, but I'd feel more comfortable with someone at the helm, so to speak. That said, if Rhinox needs an extra set of hands and if you feel your skills are up to it, I'm sure he wouldn't mind a bit of a hand. Just make sure not to neglect YOUR responsibilities."

You nod, "Right. Of course, Optimus." You start to turn away, "Um one last question?"

"Shoot."

"Those strange symbols, Airazor and I found. Can you tell me anything about them?"

Optimus frowns, "Not as much I'd like to. We're still working on those. The only thing I can confirm is that we've seen them before at other locations. We've been trying to determine what they mean, but no such luck. Hopefully this latest discovery will lead to a break through. Of course there are other locations that might have more information."

"The other anomalies?"

"Possibly, unless they're something else." Optimus stands next to you as the door opens up. He transforms into his robot mode. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll need to start getting everyone ready for their assignments. Check back in a megacycle to begin your shift."

You head back to where you had seen Rhinox assisting Cheetor earlier at the command console.

"Hey Rhinox"

"Ah, Nightracer. Good to see you. If you're looking for Cheetor, he's not hear at the moment."

"Oh no, I actually came here to talk to you."

His eyes go wide, "Oh, alright. What can I do for you?"

"Well I'll be pulling scanner duty while you work on the ship upgrades and defenses." you state matter of factly. "I was curious to what you had planned and if I could be of assistance."

He nods with a smile. "Ah, I see. Well I'm glad to hear it. I've been dying to get down into the lower depths of the ship so i can make some improvements to the power distribution to make things run more efficent here."

He continues to go on about some technical stuff. You do your best to keep up with some of it but its not really your forte. You can understand the weapons part of the details and some of the improvements he's aiming to do. Its a good thing you and Airazor found those stable deposits for energon cause even with the improvements to distribution, the Axalon is going to need alot of energon to perform at peak performance.

"We'll if you need an extra set of hands, do let me know." You say.

"I appreciate it. I should be fine, but i do appreciate it."

Rhinox gives you a perplexed look. "Hmmm, I dont think I can help you on that one. With the exception of Dinobot, the Preds don't exactly seem the type to change there ways." He folds his arms, "Not that I'd object to the Predacons not attacking us, I highly doubt any would be willing to change their spots so to speak."

Well that's a bit less than helpful then you had hoped. Still its not like completely shot down the idea.

"Any pet projects you're working on at the moment?"

Rhinox's disposition shifts again, "Well yes, I have. While it looks like I'm usually just sitting around at this desk usually I'm trying to put together a few thoughts of ways to improve our equipment or to help on our missions. Its how I came up with some of our more experimental gear, like an extended range comlink."

"Intriguing. Anything in the works right now?"

"Hmm not entirely. Been mostly focused on the defense improvements, but after i complete those, I'll have a sometime to think about what we need or could utilizes?" He turns to you, "Why? Did you have some ideas of your own?"

"Hmm, do you think you could scan my cloaking ability and use the data to upgrade our turrets to find infiltrators?"

He rubs his chin. "That...could be do able. Yes, I think I could add that to the scanners as well, we could possibly detect enemies before they even get close enough."

"As long as it doesn't put me and my cloak at risk."

"Of course, I'm certain we could make those calibrations." He chuckles. " A fine idea Nightracer."

Aw yea.

"Well I know its a bit early but I trust I can head on down to the engine room and get a head start. You can handle things up here right?"

"Of course." You make your move over towards the chair. Its a bit high, but you take advantage to adjust the size and height.

As you start getting comfortable, you see the other Maximals heading to the platform.

Dinobot, nods to you as he heads off to the platform. He doesn't say anything as he waits on the platform with his arms crossed. Optimus takes a spot next to him. "Nightracer, Dinobot and I will be investigating that report you got from Waspinator. Airazor will be scouting the area where we plan on putting the Listening Device, to determine if it'll be secure for our purposes. Tigatron is out in the wild; He's already made his weekly report, so don't expect a check in from him unless he's in trouble. Cheetor and Rattrap will be looking over where you and Airazor found the energon deposits. We're hoping there might be more."

Airazor smiles to you. "Take care today. I'll be doing some recon work near Predacon territory. Keep the fuel rods warm." She heads off in one of the rooftop hatches.

"C'mon RT, lets get the lead out." Cheetor says boastfully.

"Relax pussy cat, that energon ain't going anywhere." Rattrap bumps into him, before he turns towards you. "Well, well looky here. Say, Hootits try not to mess with my chair too much. I've got my groove just the way I like it."

>Rub your butt against the seat, ruining his groove
>Look him in the eye, establish dominance.

You turn to look at Rattrap dead in his photo-receptors. You ruffle up your tail feathers as you rotate your hips and grind your butt against the chair. "Huh? Oh I'm sorry, Rattrap. Were you saying something? I wasn't paying attention as i was getting nice and comfortable.

Rattrap jaw drops as was Cheetor's. The two bots are speechless. Both of them eyes switching between your dominating gaze and your fine chassis.

"Sooo, are you two planning to go on your mission?" you turn the chair around with your eyes fixated on them. "Or you just gonna leak oil all day?"

"Um...ah..yea. C'mon..kid. Y-y-you shouldn't be seeing this."

"Jumpin' gyros." is all the kid can utter.

"You know.." you give a smirk, resting your head on you hand, with you elbow on the arm rest. "If you take too long...I'll be here all by my lonesome."

Cheetor grabs Rattrap, pulling him on the returned lift. "Lets go Rattrap! If we hurry we can be done in a megacycle."

'H-hey! Hold on a sec." The rat says stumbling over his own two legs. "Um yea, dont worry. What the kid said, we'll be back soon, Hooters."

Well that was entertaining. Wonder if there's a rank for 'morale officer'. If so, you're a shoe in if you keep this up, with the rest of the Maximals. Who knows maybe one day you'll be giving Optimus orders.

"Sentinel, online."

"ACKNOWLEDGED." You hear the computer respond. The outside of the ship becomes surrounded by a large white energy field.

"Alright, Computer." You hear a chim. "Activate sensor's; begin a sensor sweep of the area."

"ACKNOWLEDGED."

You main display shows an overlay of the local region. It shows the Maximal energy signatures moving out of the range of the primary sweep area. Looks like everyone is on their way.

One thing you hadn't counted on was how quiet it was in the ship, with no one else really around. Just the occasional beep of the consoles and the conference table behind you and its terminals. But other than that, silence.

You've got the basic systems online and now its just sitting back. Do you wish to do anything in the meantime?

You start looking up some of the computer's data base. "Computer, access historical archives."

"ACCESS GRANTED. OPTIMIZE SEARCH?"

Hmmm, you're not quite sure what you to ask or if there's a more accurate way to refine your search. You take a shot in the dark.

"Those alien symbols recently scanned. Cross reference with any other entries."

"ACCESSING....."

You watch the various screens scrolling around. A few note worthy pages open in smaller windows for your convenience.

A screen displaces a series of unusual symbols. A few of which of you've seen already.

"Computer, translate."

"UNABLE TO COMPLETE; SYMBOLS DO NOT MATCH ANY PREVIOUS KNOWN LANGUAGE ARCHIVED."

"Computer cross reference symbols with locations of anomalies."

The computer's interface lifts up some of the symbols and moves them towards the open windows. The top left corner's symbol moves towards the screen of the flying island, specifically to the obelisk. The second symbol seems to move towards the standing stones. The fifth symbol moves and towards the Flying Island and to the ocean location you were at before. You instantly recognize the symbol of the trap that activated.

"CROSS REFERENCING COMPLETED."

>Odd moon readings

You select the window with the images of the two moons in the sky. Looking over the information you discern that Rhinox has done scans of one of the moons. At first it looks like an scan error, but even after repeated checks, the rhino has concluded that the second moon is lighter than it should be; not enough mass for its size. Almost as if it were hollow. Additionally after the 'incident' with the floating island, it seem that it has a 'relay' that transmitted a signal to an unknown destination.

Reflecting on your search, you take a few moments to look again at the scanners. You don't want to be caught unprepared or not paying attention

You look over the scanners. Seems alls quiet. As you're about to look over the monitors the internal com activates.

"Rhinox to Nightracer."

"Nightracer here. Whats up?"

"Just giving you a heads up that I'll be taking down the autoguns offline for awhile. The shield will remain up but I need to redirect power to other systems for a time. If you could, shut them down from the conference console in the command center."

"Sure no problem." You close out some of the windows you were looking at; your investigation of the unknown anomalies is going to have to wait. As you close out the last one and turn around to the center conference console, a klaxon sounds.

"ALERT, PREDACON ENERGY SIGNATURES IN SECTOR 8"

You move back over towards the screen and look it over. There's three red triangles in the west by northwest region, heading northeast. They're still a ways from the base and they dont seem to be heading in the direction of the Maximal base, but it could be risky; especially if you shut off the perimeter guns.

"Rhinox, we have a situation."

"What's wrong?"

"We've got three Predacons appearing on our sensors. Should I still shut down the weapon systems?"

"Hmm," Rhinox seems to be considering the options. "I'm still in the middle of this upgrade. Have you attempted contact with the other Maximals?"

"No not yet." Nightracer starts to cue up the console. "Should I try reaching them?"

"It would be the smartest course of action, but there's no guarantee you'll be able to cut through the energon interference."

"Any other ideas?"

"Its risky, but you might be able to distract them if you practice some guerrilla tactics; harass them and get them to chase you away from the base."

Oh goodie. An idea that might get you shot. Of course you are a sniper and a stealth expert. Skirmishing the enemy away from your maximal base might be a sound strategy. Or atleast long enough until the other Maximals can rally to engage.

>Proceed with calling Optimus

You move back to the primary ship console and begin scanning for Optimus and Dinobot, who was with him.

"Base to Optimus come in."

Static.

"Base to Optimus and Dinobot. Do you read?"

High pitched static. You switch over to a broad signal to see if you can reach anyone else. No response.

"Rhinox, there's no one in com range of the base."

"Slag."

You stretch your body as you get ready to open the top hatch. "I'm gonna head out and see if I can create a distraction."

"Alright. Becareful out there. I'll have to put the work here on hold and head up to the main deck. Good luck Nightracer. I'll keep trying to get ahold of someone to back you up."

"Copy that." You tap a few keys on the console. "Sentinel, lower energy shield and reactivate in 30 seconds."

"ACKNOWLEDGED"

"Beast Mode." You transform into your snowy owl form and head on out to investigate Predacon signatures.

You know that doing this solo is dangerous but so far coms are no go. The location of the Predacon presence was out of the way from most of the Maximals currently out in the field. Tigatron would most likely be the closest but as you learned earlier, he wouldn't be near his signal array, to transmit any reports. Optimus and Dinobot were headed West but not towards the north. Airazor is in the exact opposite direction, but being a flier, she could reach you after awhile. Cheetor and Rattrap are in the south where your previous mission took you. If you could get a hold of them, your certain after your little chair display, they'd stumble over each other to reach you. Of course, traveling by land will take time and they'll need to drop off the energon first.

>Lets see what we're up against first. Stealthily scout the Predacons

You decide to go in quietly; your beast mode's silent wings make it almost impossible for any bot to hear your approach. It takes a bit longer than you expect, but it isn't long until you catch the Predacon's trail. It certainly helped that two of them aren't exactly the quietest of individuals.

"Waspinator! Keep up. Otherwise Megatron is gonna scrap us both."

"Hrrrmmm, Waspinator keeping up. Waspinator just...keeping an eye out on things."

"What? For that wretched bird?!"

"Waspinator like Birdbot. Terrorsaur just mad he got scrapped. hehehehe."

Oh goodie. These two. Well Waspinator isn't so bad, but the red lizard...guess you left an impression. Of course ripping someone's head off will do that. You can't help but want to sit back and listen to the two bicker, the almost sweet listening to Waspinator defending you.

"Will you two knock it off!?" you hear a loud deep bellowing, coming from the ground. "We are on a mission and I prefer to keep a certain degree of anonymity. Yessss..."

And who might this be? There's only a few Predacon's you haven't seen, but who ever this is, both Waspinator and Terrorsaur immediately fly downward towards the voice in a hurry.

Might as well take a look.

Moving in through the tree line gives you an extra bit of stealth as you follow but keeping a safe distance. You see Terrosaur and Waspinator move in close to a large purple lizard.

Oh....

He looks around the surrounding forest. Also in your direction but quickly turns and continues leading. "Keep up! We need to move quickly."

>Fall back, call for back up

You decide this might be abit much for you. Even with the temptation to mess with Waspinator some more. You take this as your sign to fall back and call for back up to handle the situation.

Again your beast mode, keeps you from being noticed. Once you've determined you've gotten far enough back, you start to transmit.

"Nightracer to anyone. Come in. Situation critical."

You get some static, but you land two responses.

"Rhinox to Nightracer, barely reading you. Report."

"This is Tigatron, I read you but your signal is coming it static."

Hmm not bad. You must be on the edge of both of their signals, but atleast someone can read you.

"Found the Predacons. Looks like its Waspinator and Terrorsaur with a I'll assume is the Royalty...I mean, Megatron."

"Megatron?! Out this far? Hmmm, not good." Rhinox mutters. "I'll continue to try and reach the rest of the Maximals. Dont get too close to them, but if you can keep an eye on them."

"Tigatron here, if you stick where you are for a little while longer, I can rendezvous at your coordinates."

What do you want to do?

"Nightracer, Maximize." You transform and draw out your sniper rifle, closing the gap between you and the Predacons. With your long range weapon, you opt to maintain a good amount of distance, but not too far to make them scatter. You want to lead/chase them out of the area, so you nee them to have an idea of where you're at to goad them to pursue.

Piering down your scope you take sight of your targets. Megatron is the largest and on the ground. Waspinator...is Waspinator. But Terrrsaur! Should be an easy enough target.

You take a quick breath as you take your shot. Its almost to easy. The blast is muted as the blaster bolt his Terrorsaur square in the tail, sending him flying forward with a loud squawk. You lose sight of him as he heads into the tree line.

Waspinator starts to panic circle in the air as Megatron growls and whips his head looking around for the attacker.

"Who dares!? Megatron Terrorize!" The large purple saurian roars as his towering form becomes apparent.

"Waspinator, Terrorize!" Waspinator has also transformed an draws his gun as he looks around for something to aim at.

You get the feeling that neither Predacon has made your location and Terrorsaur hasn't recovered yet for a second shot.

Rolled 79, 94 = 173 (2d100)

>Take another shot (specify a bot or rapid blast to each)

You take aim at Megatron. The large purple dinosaur certainly looks powerful. His imposing stance as he looks around for where your shot came from. A wicked smile creeps upon your face as you formulate your strategy.

As you pull the trigger, Waspinator looks around and catches the shot. "Me-Megatron! Look out!"

"Wha-" Megatron turns to face what Waspinator calls out. His purple scowl turns into dread as he sees your shot coming at him. Right in the lower regions. The groan that comes from him and Waspinator makes it very clear that your shot was devastating.

"Nuttin' personal." You call out.

Megatron doubles over in pain; landing on his knees and almost face planting on the ground. Waspinator starts to panic as he looks around in terror, but when he finally sees you, he hesitates.

"B-bird bot?!"

You wave over towards him, and give him a quick tease to entice him over. "What are you waiting for Predacon? Gonna just sit there?"

Waspinator seems to be terrified at first, but as you whiff your next to shots, he seems to calm down a bit.

"Oh no! You're clearly too good. I can't get a single hit on you."

"Waspinator! Blast the Maximal, you fool!"

Waspinator, with a whimper, rushes over towards your position; he's not the best of shots but for your purposes he's perfect. You reveal yourself to give him a better shot with out him getting yourself hit. You take a few more pot shots that'll assuredly miss Waspinator. He fires a shot or two from his gun and then a few beams from his eyes. You deliberately take a few nicks to sell the 'combat prowess' of the insect. Making him look substanually better than his peers.

"Darn you Waspinator, you are too much bot for me to handle!"

You duck, dive and dodge as you sell your performance to his leader and to Waspinator. Funny enough though, it seems Waspinator might be getting a bit too confident. Disengaging from this fight is probably the best choice. As much as you like him, you cant let him get too big for his britches.

"No worry, bird bot. Waspinator not hurt you too bad. Waspinator capture you!"

Oh geez. He takes a few more shots as he tries to keep you from getting away. The bug's got it bad for you. Not quite what you had in mind with that confidence boost.

Make 2 dodge roll to escape the battle field.

You manage to dodge his first shot with little effort.

"Aw come on now! I know you dig me bug, but you gotta buy a girl dinner first before you bring her home."

Terrorsaur stumbles out of the tree line, currently in his robot mode. "Huh? You?! Waspinator what are you waiting for? Destroy her!"

Megatron slowly gets up to one knee, still a bit stunned from the shot. "Ah, so this is the new Maximal I keep hearing about...You are a sneaky one, Yes. Waspinator take her down. We'll take her back to base and then she and I can have a little 'chat'. Oh yesssss...." He stares daggers at you.

Whelp, you don't need any other reason to bail.

"Beast mode - Tactical Cloak!"

You dart up into the tree line skyward as you manage to evade another shot at you, this time from Waspinator's eye beams. While you gracefully navigate through the branches and blind fire energy beams, you can barely make out the frustrated bellows, squawks and yelling from the trio of Predacons. Hell of an impression to leave them with but you get the feeling they're not going to forget this anytime please. But you're not quite sure what to think of this more confident Waspinator; who knew he had it in him.

>Contact Tigatron, find out where he is
>Report to Rhinox.
>Circle around and reengage from another angle. You're not sure if they're tailing you just yet. That was the plan right?
>Call off Tigatron and head back to the Axalon; you feel you've done enough to detour the Predacons into turning back

>Call off Tigatron and head back to the Axalon; you feel you've done enough to detour the Predacons into turning back

"Tigatron this is Nightracer come in!"

"Tigatron here, I should be getting close to your position."

"Scrap that! I'm falling back to the Axalon."

His tone shifts. "Are you alright?! What happened?"

You stifle your laughter. "Well, I just shot Terrorsaur in the back and Megatron in the ball bearings." There's no sound, well maybe the sound of the old tiger trying to formulate a response. "What's the matter Tiger? Cat got your tongue."

"....There are no words, Nightracer." You can hear him attempting to stifle a chuckle. Your own urge to burst out laughing is almost irresistible.

Almost.

You cover your mouth and cut your comlink as you hear the sound of Waspinator's buzzing and Terrosaur.

"Hurry up and find her! Megatron will slag us both if we fail."

"Hhhrrgh, Waspinator not going to get slagged. Lizard bot will cause lizard bot got butt kicked." your obsessed Pred even gives off his own giggle. "Waspinator held back bird bot; saved Megatron. Waspinator get rewarded?"

"Not if you lose her. Waspinator needs to learn to aim properly."

"Lizard bot jealous of Waspinator."

"You be quiet!"

The two pass by you almost within wing tip reach. Had you made anymore noise they would've seen you. Not that Tactical cloak is perfect; a sharp eye could see the shimmer of your form if they were being careful. Fortunately for you, these to were dull as rocks. It allows you the opportunity to sneak right out from under their noses.

You proceed to make your way back to the Axalon, no worse for ware from when you left the ship.

This mission was definitely an odd one. Not sure if you could fully chalk it up for one in the win column, but you sure do have a hell of a story to share with your fellow Maximals.

And thats gonna do it for this one. Things certainly got interesting

thanks again for coming out and being patient with me. Works been stressful and draining.

As always, i'll stick around to answer any questions and comments and such.

Tune in next time, most likely Weds (time permitting), Slim chance for Thurs, and maybe Fri for our next thread. I'll do my best to keep you all posted on twitter.

Catch you all next time on....Beast Wars Quest 2!

>>2123562

Hmm. Whilst it's good to be back home, I can't help but worry what the 'Mission' Megs stated they were on was. Have we blown it for them purely by finding them, or are they just going to continue on with it now we're heading back?
>>
>>2123569

i want to hear rattraps.
>>
>>2123571
Well the Preds did take a bit of damage, so I'd say they either disengage for now or proceed with whatever their mission was. You never figured out why they were out there; you just happen to detect them while they were on the move. They will probably be more cautious in the future if they proceed with their mission
