>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirty (thirty one) year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

As you look toward the creature and feel for its energy, you discover that it is indeed powerful. However, you get the feeling that its might is still nothing when compared to Cell. You would say this thing is at least as powerful as Lipid was.

But what about Roshi and Shen?

A quick glance reveals far more power than you were expecting, and you get the sense that there's more hidden within there. Try as you might, though, you are unable to read the full extent of it. Perhaps they're keeping it suppressed from prying minds, or perhaps there's something else at play.

"Nucleo, these two are your opponents," Cell addresses the beast. "Have fun."

The creature laughs, swinging its tail back and forth as Cell exits the ring. Roshi and Shen drop into their stances, and ready themselves for a face-off.

Nucleo does not wait long, and with a roar, charges the two old masters, who remain firm as their foe approaches. The beast leaps, flipping and swinging its clubbed tail down.

Roshi and Shen scatter, and the tail slams into the tiles of the ring, breaking several of them into pieces. The monster gives chase after Roshi, who gives a grunt as his body suddenly bulks up, becoming fit and muscular where it was once thin and frail.

Nucleo throws a punch, and Roshi raises a hand, somehow managing to not only block the strike, but stop it altogether. Nucleo throws another, but it's stopped just as easily, with Roshi then bringing a knee up into the beast's jaw, knocking it back as he backflips out of bounds, using a gust of his energy to throw himself back into the ring.

Nucleo seems unharmed by Roshi's attack, and adjusts himself to land on his feet as he comes to ground.

Shen strikes from behind, delivering a chop into the creature's neck that catches it by surprise. Nucleo gives a jolt, but once again seems mostly unharmed.

The energy you can sense from everyone tells you that this should be a one-sided battle. Nucleo seems to have far more power than the old masters. Even together, they should be unable to match him. Yet, here they are, holding their own.

Nucleo swipes his tail at Shen, who springs from his shoulders and flips over his head. Nucleo fires off a blast of energy from his mouth, only for Roshi to leap up and intercept it. The blast detonates against Roshi's palm, but the old master is left entirely unscathed.

"Amazing..." Yamcha remarks with wonder.

"As expected from such legendary martial artists," Nam comments. "They truly are remarkable to behold."

Piccolo grunts in amusement, clearly not quite as impressed.

You try to get a better feel for their energies, hoping to figure out what exactly is going on here.

Your focus is shattered almost at once as you take a look up at the sky. It sure looks pretty today. Nice and clear, lovely looking clouds, some birds flying around.

Sometimes you think that you really should just take some time to appreciate the beauty of the natural world. Hell, you grew up in a forest for most of your young life. City life can be so loud, and often annoying. You can't see the stars at night, people are always honking horns or yelling at each other, and there's just so many people. Bulma and Trunks make it worth it, but you really could use a change of scenery.

Maybe when the tournament is over....

Oh, shit! The tournament!

Looking to the ring, you see Shen make a palm-strike on Nucleo's stomach to no effect. The Crane Hermit leaps back, and Roshi blocks another punch that Nucleo throws at the fleeing fighter.

"HAAAA!" Roshi yells, thrusting a palm against the monster's chest.

To your surprise, Nucleo is pushed back several feet, and looks quite surprised about it himself.

After a moment of confusion passes, Nucleo laughs. "Your weak attacks can't even scratch me, old man! How do you plan to beat me if you can't even hurt me?"

"In case you haven't noticed, you haven't managed to land a hit on me, yet," Roshi points out. "I wouldn't get so overconfident if I were you. If you keep fighting as you are, your defeat is assured."

Nucleo growls, lowering his head and charging straight for Roshi, looking to impale the old man with his horns.

This time, rather than taking the hit, Roshi claps his hands together, leaps out of the way, and creates a gust of wind that strikes the side of the monster's head, causing it to change direction and turn its back to the old man.

Shen once again moves in, this time landing on the creature's back. He does not attack or move, until the creature yells and swings its tail at him. At that point, Shen leaps off and points a finger.

"Dodon Ray!"

A thin beam of light shoots from the old man's finger, piercing the monster's right horn, which severs from Nucleo's head and falls to the ground at its feet.

Shen lands beside Roshi, a cocky smirk on his face.

"Shen, are you ready?" Roshi asks his fellow master.

"Get me one more opening, and this monster is as good as dead," Shen declares with confidence.

Nucleo turns and glares toward Shen, vein in his forehead twitching and eyes swelling with fury.

"Is that supposed to be a joke?!" he demands, slamming his tail into the floor of the ring. "You got one lucky shot on my horn and think you're better than me?!"

You can feel Nucleo's energy begin to swell as he steps forward.

"You've hid behind your friend the entire fight!" Nucleo roars. "Without him to save you, you're nothing!"

Shen takes a step in front of Roshi. "You're a greater imbecile than I thought."

"Prove it!" Nucleo shouts. "Face me without your friend!"

"Oh, don't worry, he'll be sitting the rest of this out," Shen assures him. "Won't you, Roshi?"

The Turtle Hermit sighs, his body returning to its normal state as he takes a seat in the ring and looks to Shen.

"Sure, have your fun."

Shen starts to move toward the one-horned monster. "I will."

Nucleo produces an insane grin, racing toward Shen with his tail swinging along behind him. His energy continues to rise, and if he was holding back before, you know he's planning to hit Shen with everything he has.

"DIE, INSECT!" the monster roars, throwing a punch at Shen's face.

Shen tilts his head to the side, steps forward, reaches up, and places a hand upon the monster's shoulder.

The creature glances at him in confusion, then its eyes go wide as Shen takes a step back. As you watch in shock, the beast's shoulder seems to explode, blood flying everywhere as its arm falls to the ground.

Nucleo shrieks in pain and terror, staggering back and clutching the gaping hole in his body, his tail swinging frantically behind him.

Shen grins sadistically.

Trying to get a sense for what just happened, you draw a complete blank, and judging by the looks on their faces, most of the others don't understand it, either. Piccolo seems to be the only one with some inkling of what's going on in there, but he isn't sharing.

He does look disturbed, though, and more than a little worried.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!" Nucleo demands, pain giving way to rage as he stares his opponent down.

Shen chuckles. "There's no sense in wasting time explaining it to you. Besides, it'll be faster to kill you than to explain it."

"YOU'RE THE ONE WHO WILL DIE!" Nucleo declares as Shen begins to step toward him.

With a roar, Nucleo hurls himself at Shen, swinging his remaining clawed hand at the old master, who simply leans back and lets it pass over his head.

As the hand swiped by, Shen straightens back up and reaches out, grabbing hold of Nucleo's wrist. Nucleo spins and tries to throw Shen off, and succeeds...sort of.

The monster's wrist explodes, sending the hand flying, and doing the same to Shen, who is thrown high into the air. The Crane Hermit stops himself and smirks down at the bleeding beast.

"Are you finally getting the picture?" he asks his foe. "Or do you need another demonstration?"

Roaring once again, the monster opens its mouth wide, firing off a massive wave of energy that shoots right for Shen. The blast consumes the Crane Hermit utterly, and Nucleo begins to laugh, only to scream as the base of his tail explodes.

"You really fell for such a basic trick?" Shen admonishes. "What a disappointment. Cell promised a test, but instead gave me a training dummy."

"DIE, YOU BASTARD!" Nucleo shouts, firing another blast down at the smaller Shen.

The arena shakes, and smoke obscures your vision, but when it clears, you see Shen still standing there, hand on Nucleo's throat.

The monster trembles, not with rage, but with terror, its eyes wide in fear as it seems to desperately try and figure a way out of this.

"Well, I'm bored with you," Shen declares. "Time to end this little game."

"WAIT, NO-" Nucleo pleads before his neck explodes, even more blood shooting everywhere as his head flies from his body, which collapses to the ground.

Shen, covered in the red mess, doesn't seem the least bit bothered. Instead, he smiles and looks to Cell.

"I trust you'll take care of clean-up," he says before turning his back to the monster's "father" and stepping out of the ring.

Roshi shakes his head and exits the ring as well.

The desire to know what's just happened is overwhelming, and you plead with the two old masters to tell you what they did in the ring just now.

Your words reach them, and they finally relent, with Shen speaking first.

"Master Mutaito spent centuries wandering the Earth as a spirit," he tells you. "During that time, he learned a great deal about the spiritual energy that flows within living things, and how that energy works within the human body. During his return, he taught Roshi and I the secrets to manipulating that energy, not only in ourselves, but in others as well."

"To do so, one has to make physical contact with their target," Roshi explains. "When I block a punch, I manipulate the energy in my opponent, taking the power out of their attack and making it harmless."

"You've already seen what I can do," Shen smirks. "At the World Martial Arts Tournament, I was able to block the flow of energy through your body. But, since then, I've improved it further, and can cause energy to violently explode from an enemy's body, damaging the body itself in the process."

"Amazing" you gasp. "How did you two master those techniques?"

"Practice, of course," Roshi answers. "I had Shen and Master Mutaito attack me until I could stop all of their punches no problem."

"And since Roshi wouldn't let me practice on him, I went elsewhere to find training dummies," Shen tells you with a wicked grin.

"You've got this," you hear Yamcha say from nearby.

Tenshinhan steps into the ring, a white light and aura surrounding his body. The energy you can feel from him is unbelievable, and you almost feel sorry for whoever his opponent is.

In front of Tenshinhan stands a huge, green-skinned beast with massive, bat like wings. Like Cyto, this monster looks mostly human in appearance, aside from the skin and wings.

"He eventually figured out a way to draw and control his power even better than your Kuma-Ken. The only thing is, he needs a few minutes to focus his energy for it to work, and he can only keep it up for so long."

In the ring, Ribo takes a swing at Tenshinhan, who easily parries the attack before kicking the monster in the gut.

"Damn, he one-upped me," you grumble, watching as Tenshinhan pummels the monster with a series of punches and claw-strikes. "So, how long can he keep it up?"

"About a minute," Yamcha answers. "But, that's more than enough."

Ribo finally lands a hit, punching Tenshinhan right in the chest. But, the blow doesn't appear to do any actual damage, or even hurt the three-eyed warrior.

"You're finished!" Tenshinhan declares, leaping up and kicking the beast in the face.

Ribo is sent flying from the ring, stopping himself from hitting the ground only thanks to a flap of his wings. This only delays things for a few more seconds, though, as Cell obliterates the monster in a single blast.

"That's enough," he declares with a sigh. "I think Earth's warriors have proven themselves. Now then, we've got the preliminaries out of the way."

He moves forward, stepping into the ring. "Who wishes to be the first to fall at my feet?"

The light surrounding Tenshinhan vanishes, and he leaps back out of the ring, once again taking a meditative position.

"Weren't there supposed to be five warriors?" you ask Cell.

"Indeed, but you've managed to convince me that you will not be a complete waste of my time," Cell answers with a smirk. "You will all be capable of providing me with some level of entertainment, and I'm tired of waiting for it. So, which one of you is first?"

Without allowing time for discussion, Goku leaps into the ring.

Okay. So we have Tien-Ken which lets you stockpile energy before having a burnout,
Our Godly Kai which we really need to focus on conserving and using properly, staying godly,
Roshi's ability to completely block your energy from doing any damage,
The Grand Kai's ability to split a person's energy,
and Shen's ability to make your energy blow itself up while it's still inside you.

Guess we're gonna need to put more points into Ki Control

"Good luck," you tell your friend as he drops into his usual fighting stance.

"Thanks," he replies before looking at Cell. "If it's all the same to you, let's skip the warm-up. I want to get down to business."

"Fine by me," Cell tells your friend, putting his arms out in front of his body and holding his palms out toward Goku. "Whenever you're ready."

Goku smirks, and you feel a jolt run through your body as the flood-gates open, Goku's full power shooting up to the surface like a geyser, and an intense golden light shining around him.

A powerful wind blows from Goku, and you hear both the cameraman and reporter give a fearful cry. Looking over, you see Konattsu catch them both before they fly too far.

Goku reaches a hand into the air, and you can see electricity dance up his arm, flowing into his palm. A golden orb appears over his hand, expanding and enveloping him altogether. There's a blinding flash, and the majority of the light fades, leaving Goku standing ready to fight.

To say that this new power of his blows yours out of the water would be putting it mildly. If he had used this in your training match, he wouldn't have needed a minute to win.

"Incredible..." Yamcha gasps at the sight of Goku's full power

"Hmph, typical Goku," Piccolo remarks with humor in his tone. "He just keeps finding new heights to reach."

Kori smiles proudly.

In the ring, Cell grins. "Wonderful, Goku! Now, let's put that power of yours to the test!"

Goku springs forward, making several strikes at Cell as he attempts to break through the monster's defenses. Cell quickly gives ground, and Goku soon lands a punch, striking Cell in the face.

Cell's head turns, and his right foot moves back with the impact. Goku jumps, throwing a spin-kick at the side of his head, but Cell blocks.

The two vanish from sight.

"So, can anybody see where they went?" Devilman asks.

Turning your eyes upward, you spot the two warriors speeding through the sky, stopping for fractions of a second as they clash together, then separating and meeting in new spots.

"Go, Uncle Goku!" Konattsu shouts joyously.

The fact that Goku went full power from the start is kinda worrying. He might just be using his fight as a way to mesaure Cell's capabilities.

As the two warriors meet one another above the ring in a brilliant flash of light, you focus intently on Cell, trying to read him and see if he's using his full power in this battle.

He and Goku lock hands against each other, descending to the ground and trying to push one-another back. Both seem to be straining themselves in this exchange, and the energy surrounding them is intense, to say the least.

Cell pulls back his head, then throws it forward, hitting Goku's nose. Goku answers by giving a high kick that catches Cell in the jaw.

The two fighters stumble apart, each taking firm stances before rushing forward and attacking each-other once again. Goku throws the first punch, and Cell crosses his arms to block it before throwing a kick with his right leg.

Goku vanishes and appears in a crouching position behind Cell, firing an energy blast into the back of his left Leg. The blast knocks Cell's leg out from under him, and causes the monster to fall backwards. Goku gives his back a kick, and he's sent flying into the sky.

Goku follows, but Cell spins and holds a hand down toward your friend, letting out a yell and firing a large wave of energy down at him. Goku holds his hands out toward the blast, which hits his palms and pushes him back to the ground, then slides him to the very edge of the ring.

With a yell, Goku lifts his arms, redirecting the blast into the sky, but in the process leaving himself open. In that moment, Cell appears before him, throwing a kick that catches your friend in the gut and sends him flying from the ring.

Goku vanishes an instant later, appearing behind Cell and kicking the monster in the back of the head. Cell falls forward, only to vanish and appear behind Goku, who once more vanishes and reappears on the other side of the ring.

In those exchanges of blows and bursts of energy, you're able to get a much better idea of the fighter's powers. You quickly realize that both are holding back, but there's a major difference.

Goku is keeping a small portion of his power in reserve, likely in case he needs to use an ultra-powerful attack later on. Cell, on the other hand...

You aren't even sure how much power he's hiding, there doesn't seem to be any end to it.

"Goku's in trouble," you announce, drawing looks of surprise from the others, save Roshi and Shen, who simply continue to watch the battle.

"What are you talking about?" Lapis asks with annoyance. "It doesn't look like he's taken any serious damage yet."

"He should have plenty of fight left in him," Lazuli adds.

"That's not what I mean," you tell them.

"Then what do you mean?" Piccolo demands.

You explain to them what you sensed, and the others look to the ring in shock.

"So, you're telling me that Cell's just been toying with him?!" Piccolo asks fearfully.

"That's impossible!" Yamcha declares. "There's no way that somebody could be that strong!"

You see Kori give them skeptical looks, but she doesn't say anything right away.

"If Cell's really holding back like that, then we're going to have a hard time taking him down," Chi-Chi growls in frustration.

"Uncle Goku can't win?" Konattsu asks worriedly as she looks up at you.

"Strength isn't everything," you remind her. "Goku can still win this."

Roshi grumbles. "I don't know...."

That's all for today, folks, hope you had a good time

I'm planning to run tomorrow, and as always, I'll hang out for a bit

>>
Tofoo should learn bone crushing and limb dislocating/ripping techniques. Sure, it will be completely worthless against Buu, but I think that most non buu enemies would be sent into a world of pain with that. Maybe they would consider it kinda dirty a fighting style, but Tofoo's already playing rough with that ki blade of his that can one shot non important villains
>>
heres what we need to do.

fire an energy blast
barrage to create a dust cloud. go God Form so we have no perceptible ki. launch an attack at cell while breaking the sound barrier. as long as we move faster than sound he cant read air vibrations to see where we are because all the vibrations are trailing behind us. hit him then kaikai away and repeat.

we should also try and develop the old master's techniques, or travel to otherworld and train under mutaioto.
>>
>>2114528
Gotta train for that
>>
>>2116777
Did goku train for that? I thought he randomly decided to try stacking both things in a gamble to git gud
>>

Yea, which we did, Which is why we need to train for that otherwise it just end the same way with our body's ki getting messed up.
