Last time, not much happened! You got some exercise, some information about the mysterious attacker that’s fighting thugs and… You got a girlfriend! Forbidden love between a student and his teacher! You both decided to keep a secret, but its official anyway. What a wild ride that confession was…

Now, you have been cuddling on the couch together while talking about life in general. You didn’t know, but Uccelli is not from the city! She’s a country girl with big dreams, if big dreams are being a school teacher… Anyway, she has been feeling lonely lately without her family here, but you hope you’re going to fill the gap in her heart.

It feels like none of you are experienced in romance, and though you wonder if Uccelli was in a relationship before, you’re not going to ask right now — could be awkward and you’re enjoying yourself as is. But now what? Enjoying your time with your lover will come to a halt the moment Matilda and Nariko come back.

“I don’t want to go, but…” She looks at her wristwatch with a bummed out expression.
“You have to go…?”
“Yes…” She doesn’t seem thrilled to leave.

All good things must come to an end, right…?

>Ask her to stay the night! Nariko is basically a mentally challenged kid who you hope can keep a secret, and there is room to spare!
>Take her to the station. If it was the weekend, maybe you could have asked her to stay, but in these circumstances it's better to let her leave.

Votes are counted until 20 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.

Dice Mechanic:

I use the average (the mean) of the 3 best rolls and success will be determined by the difficulty I specify for the action or prompt. If there are less than 3 rolls I’ll do the math with the ones I have.
Above 45 is a success on a normal roll. Above 55 is a success on a hard roll. The hardest rolls I won’t specify because I find it more fun if I don’t.
We will roll after the voting is done.

Love is in the air! You know it! She knows it! You don’t want this to ever end, and her staying here hasn’t been a problem before.

“You sure you don’t want to stay? I have room to spare.”
“But what about Nariko?” Woah, this is new! The old Nina would have just said ‘no’ and made an excuse. You think Icioba is telling Nina to follow her heart somehow. Or maybe she's deciding for herself?
“I’m very sure Nariko can keep a secret. Besides she doesn’t talk to anyone.”
“She doesn’t have to know yet…” Uccelli happily goes back to cuddling like before.

Sadly, 10 minutes later, you hear someone knocking the door – the gals are probably back. Uccelli hides in your room while you open the door. Unsurprisingly it’s Matilda and Nariko! Hey, what happened to paying for the hour? Is she just going to stop working whenever she wants? Anyway, time to chat…

“Johnny!” Nariko seems content, her face a lot less tired than usual.
“There you go, Ando. Since I have to call it off earlier, I’m only going to ask you for 15.” They were gone for almost 4 hours, what kind of activities were these two doing…?
“Thanks, Matilda.” You hand her the money from your wallet. She takes the bills with obvious pleasure, her fingers rubbing them as she puts them away.
“So who's inside?” Matilda asks you out of nowhere.
“Pardon me?” You sound surprised without intending to.
“You’re a little too clean for what you were doing.” Matilda ponders with her fingertips on her chin.
“One, I’m not doing that. Two, I don’t think you understand how it even works.”
“One, you didn’t deny what I said. Two, I think I know well enough. But maybe I could forget about this whole thing for a dollar.” You think she’s joking, but that look in her eyes tells you otherwise.
“Good-bye Matilda. Thanks for everything.” You said deadpan, as you slowly start closing the door in her face. Her expression doesn't change, but just before her face goes out of view you see her start pouting.

Once it’s completely closed, you turn to Nariko – She must be hungry after whatever they did, maybe it’s time for dinner. You wordlessly walk over to the kitchen, hearing a "Thanks Johnny!" from the couch as you do so.

You call Nina in, and the two of you prepare dinner together, probably the first time you ever enjoyed cooking at all! It was more delicious than usual too! After eating dinner together, you expected to spend more time with Nina – and in a somewhat expected turn of events, you did. The three of you spend time watching TV dramas while Nariko sat on the edge of her seat in concentration. As the night continues on, your eyes closing tell you sleep is near…

“I’m sorry if you were expecting anything else, with me staying today and all.” Uccelli tells you as Nariko goes to your dad’s ex-room to return to her perpetual slumber.
“Meh, I had fun.” Not true: TV dramas kind of suck with so many ads. But if they had fun, you had fun, right?
“I’m glad.” She holds your hand and starts swinging it very lightly. “L-look at the time! It’s better if we go to sleep, right?” The light swings are getting more frantic. She didn’t even look at her watch out of… is that excitement or apprehension?

It’s time to sleep?

“Right. I’ll sleep on the couch.” Obviously this is the proper thing to do when you have guests over.
“Y-yes! I didn’t completely forget about the couch. B-but, you know, sleeping on that couch can hurt your back.” Let’s say these gentle swings are not ‘gentle’ anymore.
“If you want to sleep in the same bed just say it. I don’t mind.” You close your eyes and smile as she keeps playing with your arm.
“I-I’m sorry, I’m not used to asking for anything but homework these days…”

And the two of you went to sleep together in your room. She ended up using one of your t-shirts as pajamas, but sadly asked you to turn when she changed… In the future she won’t mind. Probably. Like before, Nina is all over you without giving you an inch of space. At some point, you doze off.

You find yourself in the Bridge between Worlds! It’s being a long time since you ever got summoned here. Getting to a magic world in your sleep isn’t something you were ever accustomed to, but anyway, what happened?

“Hey partner.” Somewhat away from you in the black void floats Philonune, smiling and waving at you. It’s weird seeing Philo in his ‘normal’ form, him being a little floating flame with cool eyes is what’s normal to you. “It seems everything is looking up for you, isn't it…? But I wonder who brought us here. Maybe Athelone has something planned for us? Or someone else?” Now you know he wasn’t the one who summoned you. Heck, has Philo ever summoned you since you two forged the contract?
“I forgot how this shit works, do we wait or—”
“Do not despair, Mr. Ando. I’m here.” Athelone appears from the darkness. She’s all alone.

“Where is Constance?” You ask immediately. Something's fishy…
“Why, right here.” You didn’t notice, but Constance is in her arms, sleeping like… a cute mummy. “Now, I hope you two are aware that June 4th is fast approaching.”
“We are. And we’re making progress!” Philonune quickly responds. Are you really?
“I don’t want to sound rude, but is that all?” You ask bluntly. This situation is strange, and you're still doubting her intention here.
“No, I wanted to ask you two for a favor.” Athelone responds promptly. Seems like you were right to suspect something.
“What is it?”
“Constance’s parents, could you find them?”
“We’re not exactly miracle worker, but we could try.” You say, shrugging.
“The woman who visits my dear girl, you must talk to her.”
“Who?”
“Lise Villiers. She knows more than she pretends.” Who…? “But take your time, the crystals are the most important matter here, for the good of everyone. I thank you for your time.” She bows deeply, eyes closed, still cradling Constance.

And as quickly you came here, you’re gone. This is the strangest meeting you've had with her, and she's vored spirits before… Well, enough aboud voring ghosts, it’s a beautiful Tuesday morning! Nina is not here by your side anymore, maybe she's already up?

"Johnny! Nariko! Breakfast is ready!” It’s her! And she made breakfast! This is awesome! You can get used to this. You take a quick peek at your phone and notice you received a bunch of messages…

It appears your honeymoon period of sorts will come to a halt faster than you thought. You should decide on what to do after classes today.

>Training! Call that vile asshole Trent for getting more fit!
>Time to find the truth! Call Matilda, you’re getting Nariko’s memories back… sort of.
>Fuck all that, honeymoon period will continue! You'll hang out with your girlfriend, no matter what anyone says.

It’s an important decision, maybe you should double-check first before doing anything hasty. You put your uniform on and start reading the messages:

-The first one is from Osgood! That the fat piece of shit that’s on the terrorists’ files is the same fatso that played cards with him, Craig and the other guys…! You don’t remember anyone fitting that description though. He says you two should contact him about what’s happening; even though he doesn’t think his poker partner’s ability is that useful. Maybe he’s referring to one of the special humans, the one with the power of taking pictures of the flames… Yeah, that doesn’t sound useful when you remember how you could see and take flames directly.

-The second one is from Terry! He says today is the day the school delivers the test scores. Hopefully, you not only passed, but aced some of them! And oh yeah, Scarlet being naked is a possibility, I guess. After how you comforted her during the ice-cream event, you're not exactly sure how to feel about this.

-The third one is from Trent. ‘Friday. 1v1. You and him.’ Uh-oh…

-The fourth one is from Lise, a continuation of one of the messages she sent you before, just asking how you've been and mundane stuff like that. You have a bad feeling about this, but on the bright side you could learn a thing or two about Constance’s parents.

-The fifth one is from Scarlet. Mainly unintelligible stuff, can’t be deciphered like Constance’s messages. Just plain gibberish. You wonder why she'd message you this way; maybe something happened to make her unable to message coherently?

You are now eating breakfast with your girlfriend and your hobo. It’s delicious and all, but now you have to make a decision! What are you going to do after classes?

>Honeymoon continuation. (With Uccelli)
>Investigate Nariko’s past. (With Nariko and Matilda... and maybe Amelia)
>Get fit! The showdown is Friday! (With Trent Figg)

the romance leaves a lot to be desired in this quest
>>
You already made a fool of yourself once; you’re not going to repeat that mistake again! You won't just get fit! You'll get >>>/fit/! Let’s send a message to the thug, if you’re lucky he'll read it. After eating breakfast and cooking Nariko’s lunch, you and Nina leave the apartment. After leaving the building completely, she grabs your arm and leans on you romantically. She’s disguised but you aren't, so if everyone saw you… Well, they would know something is going on with somebody; but who cares?

On your way to the station you tell your girlfriend that you’re going to be busy training after classes. Nina acted disappointed but she understood (remembering your ass getting kicked not so long ago), and said she’s going to work the whole day so she'll have enough free time for the two of you later, if you want. Nina said she doesn’t want to force herself on you, but that's not what you're seeing!

Mundane classes are a chore, but in the end you survive like usual. During the day you received a message from Trent confirming the training session. Later you found out that Terry’s exam forecast was wrong, and the scores are going be posted on the school billboard tomorrow. You’re more or less sure you’re going to stand out. At least school is over for now… Time to hit the gym.

Trent is waiting for you sitting in front of the gym! What a miracle! You thought he was going to arrive late like last time. He looks almost worried, arms crossed and rapidly tapping his feet. He notices your presence as you walk up to him.

“Hey, Johnny.” His voice deflates a little.
“You remembered.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m a dumbass, whatever. Let’s get inside.”
“Alright…” He’s hard to read, but you're getting used to him.

Again, you enter the back of the gym and receive one hell of a training session, or a training session from hell… Whatever you want to call it. The trials and tribulations of getting fit are doing wonders on your body, reaching you to Athletics lv. 3! You’re feeling swole, and hopefully your lady is going to be impressed — if you could even move your head to see her, that is! You’re fucking tired, this session unlike the last one – Trent was deadly serious this time, and at least you can feel the results. As you pour water on your face while lying down on the floor, Trent sits next to you.

“Enjoying the pain?” He asks sarcastically.
“Could be… worse…” You pant for breath, but grin back at him.
“Good, good. You’re improving faster than I thought. We can’t do any miracles for Friday, but I think you can stand your ground a little.” The moment he mentions Friday his tone shifts, like he lost confidence or something.
“You are… taking this… more seriously today, huh?”
“I don’t feel like that’s true.” He drops a towel on your face. “Listen, I need to tell you something.”
“What?” You clean the sweat off your forehead and everywhere else.
“Remember my gang?”
“Not really, I don’t think I ever saw them too much.” Does the crowd in your fight with him count?
“Exactly. We fucking lost everyone.”
“Wait, what?”
"You heard me. We fucking lost EVERYONE. You don’t need to fight the fucktard, there's no point. I’m all alone again.” He's looking away from you as he says that last part, but you feel his spirit die a little as he does so.
“Wait, this whole thing was for nothing?”
“Unless you want to do it anyway... but, nah, the ghost men bullshit is dangerous – so don’t fucking do it and get lost.” He turns to you, back to being annoyed.
“You’re giving me mixed signals, here.”
“Do you want a fight? Plain and simple, answer me.”

So this whole fighting thing was a massive waste of time? At least showdown-wise, maybe you could deal with this mysterious masked man yourself, or could do something else… How do you respond, anyway?

>“Yes, I trained for this crap; I’m not backing down like a bitch after all this.” Do or die, motherfucker!
>”Yeah, with you. You want this revenge, you're gonna back me up.” Time for double-team payback!
>“I guess I’ll have to deal with him myself. Thanks for the gains though.” You’re on your own, and you don’t have to deal with him right now.

“Are you fucking kidding me? Giving up already?”
“…?” He raises an eyebrow.
“Yeah, of course I’m fighting – I trained for this crap; I’m not backing down like a little bitch after all this.” Do or die, motherfucker. Trent stares at the ground for a few seconds, then he slaps both of his cheeks with both hands repeatedly, and open his eyes wide.
“I guess one beating wasn’t enough for you, haha.” He stops smiling and regains his composure. “Don’t you dare ditch Friday night, alright?” He extends his fist towards you expecting a fist bump, and you do so – you’re still kind of tired, but you try to put some energy into it. He bobs his head looking a bit fired up.
“Right.”
“I’ll stay training, you can scram if you want.” He stands up and goes to the punching bag like he didn't just work out a bunch. That's some stamina.

Guess the fight is officially on, though it was way closer than you expected; make sure you don’t forget this Friday is the fight. After your exchange of words with Trent, you took your stuff and left to the bus stop. During the trip, you decided to check on your phone, where there are some cute little messages from Uccelli – wondering how you have been during the day and what you two could do together soon. You respond, and the two of you go back and forth chatting about nothing in particular. Eventually, she went back to work…

There are more messages: one is a team one. It’s Osgood explaining the situation about his fatso friend, during the chain of messages it appears Amelia ended up teaming up with Osgood to check on this guy tomorrow. You don’t know for sure, but you have a bad feeling about this in the back of your mind.

You’re back at your apartment, clean as always! Nariko is playing video games now. Did you turn a hobo into some kind of NEET parasite…? It’s not like you’re spending too much money to keping her here, so it isn’t really a problem. Maybe at some point you should teach Nariko to do something with her life or, you know, search for her memories. You’re too tired right now to really put much thought into it.
You keep your daily routine going – making dinner, cleaning dishes, checking the news (nothing important this time) and then going to sleep. If your body wasn’t as tired, you probably could do something else…

It’s another mediocre Wednesday morning! You need to prepare for the worst soon! Your list of things to do isn’t getting any smaller either. Kind of overwhelming, but don’t despair! You have enough time to do everything you want eventually. You check your phone before making any rash decisions:

-It seems Osgood and Amelia’s reunion with fatman ‘Bradford’ is going to be at the Starlight Queen after classes. Uccelli said she’s going to be there in the background, disguised, just in case something bad happens. This could potentially go so, so fucking wrong…

-Scarlet sent you a crying emoji. You are tempted to send a ‘k’, but you decide against it…

-Lise needs to talk to you privately as she feels her life is in danger! The sooner the better! You have a sneaking suspicion this might be about the government, from what you remember of the terrorists' files on Constance…

-Matilda is taking Nariko to her possible school. She’s tired of waiting and wants to make progress with the case now.

With all this information in hand, what do you want to after classes?

>Go to the meeting with the fatso! Knowing how dangerous you could've been with your flame-stealing power before, who knows what else this guy might have up his sleeve!?
>Meet with Terry and Scarlet. You need to support your ice cream craving friend, as she’s totally going to have a meltdown today. Her, not her ice cream.

Well, none of these look too urgent except for one. So let’s arrange a meeting with Lise, she’s desperate enough to ask for help so it must be serious… And the life threating part is important too! You send a text back to her about meeting up with her after school. She almost immediately responds, like you answered her prayers. Or like she was waiting for your to respond. You two will meet at Il Grande Café.

You ate breakfast with Nariko after making up your mind. Once you tell her there is a possibility of Matilda showing up today to take her to her possible school, Nariko seems a bit excited. And why wouldn't she be? She wants to be ‘normal’ again, with 'normal' thoughts and 'normal' memories, whatever that means. After making her lunch, you left for school.

During your trip to the station, something weird happens: your phone rings in a high pitched tone, and the weird war-related app opens on its own with a message showing:

‘It came to our attention that more than half of the players in this stage of the competition have been eliminated. The process by which most of these happened is not what this war was intended to be. From now on if you activate this app’s new command, a pulse of energy will deactivate most forms of machinery that go against our new ruleset, within a certain range. This command can be deactivated at will, returning devices to normal operation.

This competition was intended to be a bloodbath of our kind without the use of regular human weaponry, mainly firearms and vehicles. Sharp weaponry is allowed for the time being, but will be revised in the future. Rely on your partners and your own wits to crush your opponents.

Thank you for your patience.

The Association of Judges.’

“More than half… How much have we missed out on? I assumed you were diligent in watching your human news! Could such a large number have been removed so efficiently within these past few weeks, and without the notice of any others?”
“Enough to be a lock at this point, right? I’ll take it as a victory for us, I guess. The Judges mentioned more stages of this war, so there could be more people later to replace the ones that, uh… that got killed.” Yeah, that's right. If there's more to this, then there needs to be more new people being 'recruited' like you were. How long is this war even going to last…?
"I don't like it. Such a weak way to win, securing victory through inaction. But you're right, there should be more battles for us to prove ourselves, Johnny!” Philonune actually looked sad for a moment there, before going back to how he usually is.

Luckily for you, the train just arrived! You take a short sprint to get inside – but unluckily for you, you trip as you enter, falling flat on your stomach and making your phone fly off through the train. And making you look like a moron. As you try to regain your composure, someone walks in front of you. You lift your gaze and see a somewhat short girl. From where you are, you can clearly see straight up her skirt…! Though she's wearing shorts under them.

“Here, you dropped this!” She hands you your cellphone, smiling… You can tell three things from her eyes, going by your gut feeling.
One: she knew you saw up her skirt.
Two: she stood close enough giving you the phone that it was fully intentional.
Three: there is something very very wrong with her…
“Thanks…” You grab your phone, and stare at her for a second without looking at it...

“Johnny, she has a flame.” Philonune states something you were just about to notice. Indeed, she does have a flame, hanging on one of her hair strands… and she looks oddly familiar!
“Hey amigo, you alright? You're lookin' a bit pale there…” She asks as you stay still without uttering a single word. Her face doesn't seem to change, but her eyes narrow very slightly, and her grin gets juuuust a little bit wider… Thankfully, the girl doesn’t seem to be able to see Philonune.

“Johnny, you know exactly who this is. And you know exactly what this means, don't you?” Philonune says the second sentence slowly, as if savoring it. If he had a tongue as a floating flame, you swear he'd be licking his lips right about now. You don't know why you know this, but you do.

You hear the train alarm going… This situation could become quite dangerous if you don’t know how to deal with an ex-terrorist leader…

What do you do?

>Get the fuck out of there before the doors close! Invoke Philonune and shove her away as you do so, you need to make distance ASAP!
>Pretend you didn’t recognize her and just go on with your business. There's no fucking way she knows you, right?
>Have Philo's flame float towards the phone as you reach for it, so you can take the phone with one hand and invoke Philonune with the other! Surprise attack her right in her face!
>“Yeah, I’m okay, Rise. I was expecting someone taller though." Give up and play along with her, but keep your guard up. If what the terrorists said about her is true, you need to focus…!

Play it cool, even if she does recognize us (which we should assume she does), we need to figure out why she's here. Is this going to be a bloodbath or a "nice little talk" with threatening undertones?

Pretend everything is fine! Your acting abilities are unrivaled! And by 'unrivaled' you mean 'better than Uccelli'!

“Sorry… The fall made me dizzy.” You finally take your phone back and pocket it.
“Really? Then don’t worry, take your time!”
“No, it’s okay, I’ll just relax down here. Thanks for everything.” You wave her off. You're fine where you are. On the floor of the train car. Where everyone can see you. Yeah.
“I have all the time in the world, c’mere.” She extends both hands to help you stand up.

You finally get on your feet. The small monster in front of you creepily smiles once again, tilting her head like she’s pretending to be cute or something. You’re uncomfortable to say the least, but it appears she’s not going to do anything. Yet?

“Good as new! Next time you need to watch where you’re going.” She light taps you on the shoulder, like you're her best friend.
“Erm… Thanks?”
“What? Don’t you feel like chatting?” She raises her eyebrow, and the smile looks almost like a smirk for a moment.
“I usually just listen to music on the train.” You shrug.
And as soon as you finish saying ‘train’, the doors close… You’re stuck here now.

“What kind of music?” She keeps going, feigning interest.
“A bit of everything really. I have no preference.” You answer dismissively as you clean your shirt. Who knew traincar floors were this dirty?
“Mhm…” She seems to be thinking of a new topic to talk about for a millisecond. “So, Green Foothill, right? I haven’t gone to school for a few months now.”
“Lucky you.”
“I read on the news about a school shooter there. Were you involved?”
“Ehm… I was sick that day; I guess both of us are lucky.”
“We met each other, no? Of course we did!” She keeps smiling.
“I guess… If you don’t mind.” You show her your headphones and wiggle them, maybe she can take a hint.
“Oh, oops! I’ll leave you be, then.” She closes her eyes and blushes a little in 'cute embarassment'. It doesn't make her any less creepy to you.

You nod at her and pass her to get deeper into the train-car, but before you could feel completely safe, she asks for your attention one more time…
“Hey, wait! I have a question!” She grabs your shoulder, her grip light but firm.
“What is it…?” You take your headphones off and turn back to her, trying to look as bored as you can, hoping she falls for it.
“The application on your phone, what was it? It was a little bit weird, you know?” As soon as these words come out of her mouth, her creepy smile widens once again – she knows full well what the app is for. Which means she knows what you are. And this is terrible news.

“I downloaded this off the internet, it was supposed to be something cool but it’s only shitty malware.” You show her your phone, mainly the antivirus apps you have…
“Is that right…? So what was supposed to be?”
“Something cool.”
“Like what?”
“That’s what I wanted to know.”
“But what did you expect it to be?”
“I’m not really sure.”
“So you randomly downloaded this app for no good reason?”
“Yeah, I did." You say this as bluntly as possible.
“Woah, what a madman you are!” She says this sarcastically.
“What can I say? I like living on the edge.” You reply in the same tone as her.
“You’re so funny, I like funny people.” She’s not laughing.
“I’m really not that funny.”
“You’re funny to me. Are you busy right now? We could hang out, if you wantI know a fun place – what do you say?” She gets uncomfortably close to you, expression changing to something almost sexy, but her eyes don't leave yours for a second, and her smile doesn't die down at all. Whatever she's thinking of, someone is going to enjoy it – and it won't be you…

Luckily for you, the train makes a stop and the doors open wide! Maybe you could escape if you really think she’s dangerous.

>“No.” RUN! FUCKING BAIL OUT OF THERE!
>“I have school. Maybe another day.” Smile a little as you say this, make her think she's got you. False sense of security, and all that…
>“What do you want from me, Rise?” Play along with this; you have Philonune and she can't possibly be that bad, right? Right???
>“Please let me be. I have other things to do right now.” Be rude and blunt to her face. Normally you wouldn't do this to anyone, but you need her off your back right now.

“You’re cute and all, but I recently got a girlfriend and I really don’t think she’s into sharing… yet.” You slowly back away from her, but the train is kinda crowded and there's not much room to back away to.
“I mean, she doesn’t need to find out…” She gets closer once again.
“Sorry, I can’t. I don’t want to screw this up.” You back off yet again, now you’re at the wall. You think back on Scarlet, thinking about what would happen if they fell in love with the same guy… You shudder a little internally, trying not to show any outward hesitation or fear to Rise.

The train doors close once again, there is no escape…! The train starts moving once again.

“Fine. We’ll do it your way, but you'll have to invite me. Here…” She puts a piece of paper into your pockets, but brushes her hand on your leg through your pocket as she pulls her hand out. “If you ever want to hang out, call me… I really need the company of another flame user now, since my last guy, well…” Her crooked smile widens once again. You feel sweatdrops on the back of your neck.
“I’ll think about it…” Guess you didn’t trick her, after all.
“Thanks…! Honestly, it’s hard to turn the page when nobody wants to help you.”
“Yeah, I thought so.”

You and Rise stare at each other for a bit, though awkwardly on your end.
“Oh yeah, this is my stop.” Rise actually tears her gaze away from you and looks out the windows, smile unchanged.
“But the train is still moving.”
“You read the message from before?”
“Which one?” The one from the judges…?
“You know the one. Hold tight, I’m gonna to try something.”

You hold onto the wall handrail as Rise takes out her phone, presses a button, and grabs you by the waist. She's clinging to you pretty tightly, just like Uccelli did – but this is one girl you really don't want to be touching you like this. A red wave comes out of the phone and spreads outward rapidly, turning everything in the zone a little redder. The train groans slightly and starts slowing gradually to a safe stop. She then moves away from you and gets closer to one of the train doors. Everyone onboard is utterly confused, but no one seems harmed.

“I thought it was going to be more violent, but it just slowly turned off the whole thing. What a fucking disappointment. Ciao, amigo!” She winks at you while summoning her partner out, a weird looking creature that resembles a cup with a skull face on the front and weird arms coming out from the inside. Rise uses her partner to open the traincar’s door and jumps out, like nothing even happened.
>>
>>2159381

“She should have waited for the guards to come.” A salaryman standing near you quips as he watches Rise leave, concern on his face. “That's pretty unsafe for anyone to do when something like this happens…”
“I don't think she cares about that.” You shrug. Someone who actually cares in this city? Wow.

The red zone disappears shortly after, and the train appears to work just fine! From its speakers, the conductor tells everyone they would evacuate anyway… As you and a bunch of other people are being evacuated to the nearest station, you think you could use this as an excuse to skip classes. Maybe Lise will greatly appreciate it…

You’re going to skip classes today; you can thank Rise for that! With everything that just happened, you may need a break, even though you already promised to have a meeting with Lise – perhaps you could call her to meet sooner; she’s in a hurry after all.

If you take the bus, you could probably get home soon, but you need to change clothes if you really want to commit to this plan. You text both Lise and Uccelli while riding the bus, to the first you explain you can hang out earlier – and to your girlfriend, well, everything that just happened plus the fact you’re taking the day off. After a few minutes you receive a call from Uccelli, too worried about you to let this slide, even wanting to take the day off too, but you convinced her otherwise; she wants to meet you today, so after your meeting with Lise you’re going to go straight to Starlight Queen. Hooray…

At your apartment, you see something you never seen before: Nariko cleaning up the place! She’s wearing an apron and even using the vacuum…!

“Johnny…? You’re here… Oh no. I’m sorry, I didn’t finish cleaning...”
"Uh… Don’t worry, I’m here earlier than normal.”
“Uhm… can I ask why?”
“Had a little accident.”
“Are you okay…?!” She drops the vacuum cleaner on the floor horrified, with tears slowly appearing in her eyes. Is she pretending to be in a drama show? TV really does rot your brain! Though in Nariko's case, she doesn't have much of a brain to speak of right now – but with your help (or Amelia and Matilda's) that will change!
“Yeah I am. Why the overreaction?” You reply deadpan.
“Oh… Uhm… S-sorry…?” Nariko holds her beanie with both hands in embarassment. You can't help but to laugh at this, something that makes her even more embarrassed.
“How many times I have to told you to not worry?”
“I’m sorry though…?”

After this dumb little exchange, your phone started to ring. It’s Lise! Woah, she must be really worried if she’s willing to call you herself!
“Johnny, finally! Let’s meet right away.”
“Il Grande’s, right?”
“Yes! I’ll see you there!” She hangs up quickly. What the hell is going on on her end?
>>
>>2159717

Time to get moving, no breaks for Johnny Ando! After changing clothes and saying goodbye to poor Nariko, you get to Il Grande Café by bus. That took longer than usual, but you’re here! You feel kind of nostalgic because this is where you started getting to know your teacher. Ah, memories… Anyway, you enter the somewhat fancy place.

“Fucking finally.” Lise is already here, resting her head on one arm and tapping the table with her other hand, face only showing distrust and disdain. She has a cup of really dark coffee right next to her and nothing else. You get to the table she’s sitting at.
“Hello to you too.” You adjust your glasses.
“Fuck, my bad, didn’t want to sound like… that.”
“So what’s going on?” You take a seat directly across from her, leaning forward slightly.
“Everything went to shit.”
“What do you mean?”
“Like I said exactly; I think the flames took over my parents.”
“Woah, slow down there. Tell me everything from the start.”
“I don’t fucking know, you’re the expert here! They aren’t themselves anymore, and I don’t know what to do! Fucking help me please…" She grits her teeth and looks down at the table, frustrated and confused.

How do you respond?

>“You’re going to explain to me what’s going on clearly, because we’re not going to get anywhere otherwise.” Let's start this off slowly.
>“I can’t take them both on or something. Too risky. You should look into a place to stay in the meantime.” Her safety right now is important too.
>“Where do you live? I’ll go see what's up and try to work it out.” Maybe it's better if you see things for yourself? Being prompt might make a difference or something.
>“Ehm… Good luck with that, now if you excuse me.” Ditch her after she clearly needs your help. You're still free to be a fucking dick, after all!

“Where do you live? I’ll go see what’s up and try to work it out.”
“You can take this all by yourself? Really?” She’s skeptical, but you can see her eyes shining with glimmers of hope.
“Timing could be everything.”
“…I’ll take you there. It’s not far from here.”

Welp, you didn’t end up ordering anything, a cake for the girls would have been nice, but whatever. Duty calls! You and Lise left the café and went to her home by taxi. If the cabbie wasn’t as chatty, you could have gotten more information from Lise. At least you took the time to leave a message to the group about your whereabouts. Hopefully if things fall apart to shit, they will be ready to come. You arrive at a somewhat well-off neighborhood in the northern district of the city, no old buildings nearby, just new fancy-looking ones and trees everywhere.

“My house is at the end of the street…” Lise says as she points forward at it. It’s a big house, holy shit!
“It must be really dangerous if you don’t want to go near it.”
“You told me this is dangerous, and you're the expert.”
“You could have told me the address instead of coming with me, you know?”
“What if something happens to you in there? You’re the only one who can help me and my family.” She stares at you, determined.

“So what exactly happened to your parents?”
“I don’t know. I’m just sure that they aren’t themselves any more; like their personalities completely changed, and they started to ask more self-righteous. It’s hard to explain, but I wouldn’t have minded if they didn’t start to get so… violent.”
“What do you mean?”
“N-nothing…” She holds her arms while reminiscing about something not very pleasant. “The biggest red flag was when they didn’t want me to go outside… Like they completely forget how a normal person functions. And then…” She holds her right cheek now. You didn't notice before but it's red, as if it was burned or slapped really hard. Her eyes are also red, was she crying? “Please… Help me.”
“I’m no miracle worker, but I’ll do my best.”
“If anything happens, please, call me. I’ll be waiting here unless you have a plan.”
“We’ll see…”

Once you get closer to the Villiers’ residence, something important catches your eye: a police car is in front of the house with an officer standing around as if waiting for someone. He’s a pale looking individual with a tired look on his face, and he looks familiar to you for some reason. He’s also half-assedly checking his wristwatch every 15 seconds or so…

How do you proceed?

>Talk to the good officer. Maybe something happened and you can get info out of them.

Let’s look around, no need for direct contact yet. Getting an idea of the area’s layout might help you figure out how to go about this better! You walk around the perimeter first. Like previously mentioned, her house is huge! Not a mansion or anything like that, but they aren’t exactly living in a dump. It seems there is a big window that goes to the yard and in it is… a swimming pool. Oh man, it’s hot out here maybe you could take a dive and— Concentrate! You’re here to help! Honestly, it’s hard to tell what’s going on with all the curtains on the windows, feels like the place was abandoned. There is a tree big enough to climb on and get inside the backyard.

After doing a whole lap so to speak, you’re once again at the front. It seems the officer is still waiting, but he’s looking even more impatient than before, shaking his head rapidly side to side and spotting you. He looks at you for a few seconds like he recognizes you, but decides not to say a word and continues looking at the front door of the house.

“What are you looking for, kid?” He tries to get your attention. “I saw you looking around.” He continues talking loudly, hoping you respond.

What do you do?

>Ignore him. Wait for things to develop on their own without interfering.

“Do I know you, officer?” Let’s get this out of the way.
“Yeah you do look familiar… Do you frequent the east part of the city?”
“Yeah, kinda.” That’s where the school, Jackey Frosties, and Starlight Queen are.
“I don’t usually remember faces, so whenever we met, it was quite shocking to leave a memory.” He shrugs.
“Are you Richard Wright?”
“Do I look like a young chucklehead detective that nobody likes…? No, I’m not him. He's been in the news lately, yeah? I don’t look like him at all.” He grins. “But maybe that cream Stella gave me is working wonders.” He murmurs as he touches his face as he continues grinning.
“Uhm, my bad.”
“Hey kid, you sound awfully young, shouldn’t you be at school?” The grin on his face changes to a look of genuine concern.
“My train died and I couldn’t get there on time. So they kicked me out and I’m having the day off.”
“Oh… Right, that weird incident. Schools shouldn’t do that anyway. What school?”
“Ehm… Green Foothill.” The moment you say this, the officer's eyes widen in realization.
“Wait, that’s where that school shooter was, right? The one my—”

The officer gets interrupted by a loud scream coming from inside the house. You both look at each other and then at the house.
“What was that…?” You ask aloud.
“My partner, probably. Kid, get outta here, I’m calling back up.”
He goes back to the police car's front seats, and you hear him talking faintly on the police channel. He hangs up quickly, locking the car, then walks towards the house at a brisk pace, pulling out a revolver as he does so. Did he leave his partner alone inside? Why the fuck? You’re mildly confused, but something big is happening.

What do you do?

>Whatever is happening, it’s too dangerous! Retreat to where Lise is at.
>Stay near the perimeter and see how things develop. If flames are involved, you could be the reason people don’t die today.
>Action Man Ando is ready to tackle the issue! Try to get inside from the backyard without the police officer noticing.

Tell them to bring something to cover their faces just in case. Honestly let's think this through. THERE ARE COPS INVOLVED. THIS IS A DICTATORSHIP. Bigger question is, Lise's parents may be in a lot of legal trouble considering they might be currently murdering several officers and soon to be more. We need to be able to make sure we don't get fucking caught in the crossfire during the crackdown and honestly Lise might also get screwed as we don't know how good the legal system here is as well. WE ALSO JUST REVEALED OUR NAME AND SCHOOL.

Good suggestion, and ask of they can bring us a mask too.

Unlike you, the police officer is making a lot of noise, maybe because he’s worried or maybe because he’s somewhat incompetent – regardless he’s in front of the stairway to the next floor. Behind him is the living room, with 3 couches and a large TV, next to the set up is the large window that leads to the backyard. As soon as the police officer puts his right foot on the first step, you two hear someone screaming:

“Don’t! Get away, Jackson…! Aaaaah!” Just like in a cheap horror film once again. You don’t hear anything but the screams echo inside the house, otherwise it's all is oddly silent…
“Boss Villiers! Yabe! What the fuck is happening…?!” The officer yells angrily. He doesn’t know what’s going on either. “I’m going in…” He murmurs to himself, like convincing himself of the fact.

“Soldier! Your presence here hasn’t been solicited, leave this place at once or you shall be punished for your misconduct. Just like this man’s disobedience!” A harsh man's voice yells out from above.
“Boss…? Is that you…?” The officer stops dead in his tracks. “What are you doing…? What is happening…? Why did you call me soldier?”
“That’s your position, fool. I’m in command – and if you don’t leave at once, then you'll suffer the consequences.”

It’s hard to see from where you're at, so you sneak inside enough to be able to see upstairs while hiding behind one of the couches.

“I’m tired of this shit.” The officer points his gun upstairs where everything is pitch black, and from the darkness a man appears!
“You dare to point your weapon at me? This only means you have accepted your fate, to be rewarded as a traitor deserves. Your time on this earth is over.”
“Bah, you’re not my boss anymore, are you? You’re just like the nutjobs in the street.” The officer starts firing his revolver. The mysterious man invokes his partner, a creature that looks like a goofy winged parasite. This monster shields the first rain of bullets coming, and out of nowhere the same red wave propagates just like in the train a few hours ago, but from the man and the monster in question. As soon as it passes over the officer, the gun jams completely! “What the fuck…?” He says completely wide eyed, unable to stop himself from looking down at his gun — and away from his opponent!

Uh-oh, you feel like it’s either time to run or to fight…! Sadly this is all we have for this week’s thread. Thanks for playing!

Thanks everyone for playing/reading/participating! Sorry for these short spread out sessions, I had a lot of stuff to do during the day so I jammed in when I had the time, probably won't happen again. Here is Uccelli in Christmas outfit.

I have no idea if you guys had the 23th free, but in any case, I don’t think it would be a good idea to have a proper thread Saturday. Maybe I’ll do something dumb instead, who knows?

Yummy...

G'night boss. If you do decide to do something on the 23rd, I'll be in. Anything to distract me from the hoard of malcontents that I'm related to. Happy Holidays!

As for drawing ideas, evening wear and champagne to celebrate New Years for the cast!
