>Rules (I suppose):
Anything combat or skill-related requires 3d6, with bonuses mentioned in the post, luck would be 1d20, but I can't recall if we've used that already.
Discussions among the players is something that makes me happy, but don't forget to end in a clear vote. It makes things easier for me.

>Recap:
Last session you were on the run, found a dead wolf and raised it, killed and raised two goblins, and later two birds after having gained basic blood magic. You passed by a road, and a hollow tree, and you ended up by what you think is a Ley line, which you now consider your own after (brutally) killing a bear, gaining "Empowered Blood Essence" in the process. (End of recap)

Regardless of what you were to do next, you feel the urge to raise the bear which has just given you the Empowered Blood Essence. Feeling hesitant to leave the epicenter of the Ley Line, you order your two Goblin minions to drag the bear corpse closer, an order which they obviously follow after dropping the last remaining bird undead. Your eyes fall upon the once-more dead wolf and a tingle of pity or sadness flows through you.

The bear corpse now about a meter away from where you stand, the power of the Ley line coursing through you, you decide to go all-out, forming runes, glyphs and spell formulae with the empowered blood essence. All technically steps that aren't required, but rather tools to make the process easier, like cutting a tree with an axe rather than a sharp rock. Half a meter tall and two meters in diameter are the layers upon layers of bloody runes floating above the bear, your newfound control empowered by a seemingly unlimited supply of mana helping immensely with the forming of such, you begin a chant bearing the same function as the runes. Less than an hour after the combat began, your new minion rises to its four paws, standing as tall as you are. And with that you feel as though a wind of change is upon you.

Looking upon the bear standing in front of you, you will the Empowered blood back into an orb, holding it close to you, it's volume not having visibly decreased in the process of raising the bear which stands in front of you, awaiting its orders in an almost lifelike fashion. What will you do with the orb

(Long busy social times make for long absences, apoligies)

Your desire to gain knowledge is greater than your desire to gain power, and whilst power is important, it is of no use in the hands of a fool or a barbarian. As such you leave your newfound minion and the seemingly unlimited source of power beneath your feet undisturbed, and instead focus on the more or less equally obvious red orb in front of you. At first you seek and find the familiar resonance with it, the source upon which you practice your blood magic. If you were to describe your own essence as a dark black with blots of red and tinges of spectral blue, then the essence in front of you would be a deep red, filled with lines of blue-white and yellow-white power. A familiar feeling similar to your own blood courses through it, as well as the sense that it is somehow connected yet disconnected with the Ley Line beneath your feet.

You split off a minute part of it, barely more than a droplet, and send it towards your bird minion, intent on merging the two. A noticeable red glow encompasses the bird as the blood disperses into a red mist before entering. The previously lifeless eyes of the bird dart left and right before beginning to twitch in all directions, it's limbs spasming lightly too. You mentally order it after it has calmed down about a minute later, its acceptance of orders the same as before, only its actions seem slightly more powerful than before, not much, but more. Perhaps you imagined it, but it almost seemed to act more lifelike. As a final test you order it to fly, which finally succeeds, to a limited degree. It flies for several seconds, gaining altitude easily, however it stopped flying completely after reaching the height you desired it to reach. A visible improvement.

You repeat this experiment first on one of the goblins, and later on your bear. Both initially react the same, though in a far lower degree, with the bear only vibrating lightly rather than truly spasming. Their actions equally less empowered as the effect seems simply limited by volume. Since neither can fly there is no testing of differences, and since you have not truly tested the bear previously, you cannot compare results.

Finally after almost half an hour you reach the final subject: you. Similar to the previous tests you only use a single drop worth, the size of the orb having not shrank visibly, but you are oddly aware of your... waste. A single drop once more becomes a mist as it enters your body, as it does you immediately feel a resonance greater than before, as well as a revitalizing force greater than that of regular Blood Essence. Suddenly a surge of strength seems to rush through your body, your vision blurring slightly as you sense your muscles tense up. You wait for more to happen, even focusing on your internal resonance, but you find nothing, wasting nearly fifteen minutes on simply waiting for something to happen.

Having spent all obvious subjects you begin practicing on what you can do with it, rather than what it can do to you or your minions. You once more stretch it to a veil, form runes out of it, converge it to an orb, and in all honesty play around with it like a child would with a stream of water, moving your hand through it and enjoy it flowing against your hand. At least fifteen minutes pass as you do this before you once more realize you were practicing with, experimenting upon and studying this empowered blood essence. The next half an hour passes with you stumbling upon a way to harden it, seeming like a crystal, and even you cutting yourself with it to test its edge, which is in no way inferior to any cutting tool you've used, after having manipulated it to being sharp, of course.

At the end of it all, you even attempted to animate it, which did not quite have the intended effect, as the single droplet changed into a vague human-like shape (though it might as well be a starfish) without any reasoning ability, though you do seem to feel as though there is a soul bound to it.

You feel as though you've learned everything you can about this Empowered Blood Essence. With nothing to do until nightfall an hour or two from now, aside from gather some food, what will you do in the meantime?

>A) Have your minions build some shelter around the Ley Line, there are plenty of trees here, and with the help of your two Goblin minions and your Bear minion you can easily move heavier things.
>B) Practice, you have so much mana at your disposal, it would be a waste not to use it.
>C) Rest early, you know something will compete for this place soon, and you better be well rested to meet it.
>D) Write in

For option B, Pick one of the following: Blood magic, Death Magic/Necromancy or write in a type.
Banned types (as of now) are: Nature, Air, Lightning (and possibly more specific schools or types I can't think of right now)

Out of curiosity does that little blood thing count as a companion that we control or does it have its own will. Because if its the second one we may have found a way to make humonculi to an degree

Looking at the sun you see that there is barely two hours of daylight left, and maybe another half an hour to an hour before total darkness hits, and looking at the somewhat cloudy sky you think that tonight will be especially dark, compared to the previous few nights with a clear sky and mostly-full moon at least, and while the moon will still keep getting more full, the sky seems to be doing the same with clouds. Considering you want to stay here for longer, and don't want to have anything stumble upon your home by accident you decide to build some shelter, and barricades if there is still time, and with that you of course order your goblins and your new bear to begin breaking off trees of several sizes, using this to test the limits of your minions powers, carefully of course.

First several thinner stumps are broken, both by the Goblins and the Bear, but some of the thicker ones can only be done by your Bear. You consider for a while what you would like, but you begin by letting your Goblin dig four shallow holes, in which you stick the largest four poles which you have sharpened with the knife which seemed severely undersized for the job. After this you filled the shallow holes back up, and stuck several more, thinner poles in between. As you're busy with this you send your sharp-rocked goblin to scrape bark off of certain trees to use as a sort of string or rope. You begin working more and more as an hour has passed and you see the sun crouching ever so slowly yet ever so steady towards the horizon. Springy and bendy branches and thin trees are woven into the gaps, stacking up ever slowly to form walls where previously none existed, while you tie the ends together with your nature-rope. You have to tie the rope yourself as your minions are still far too crude in the control department.

Slowly four walls and an opening for a door form, the sun touching and slowly merging with the horizon colouring the sky golden and crimson. Your final worry is a roof which you decide to fix temporarily by simply laying thin trees on top without any further support to keep them together, then laying larger leaves on top of it, thinking you will finish it tomorrow as your muscles are sore and your thoughts begin to fill with a desire to sleep. You look at your home, smaller than it was where you lived before, and far more crude, but so much more your own, built with your own two hands (and those of your minions) you are proud of what you have accomplished so far. Especially considering how little time it took to build this. You think to yourself that if your control were to improve and your minions numbers were to increase you could build even more and even faster, without even getting involved yourself.

You walk inside, ordering your minions to stand guard and defend you, your Bear guarding (and completely blocking) the 'front entrance' of your home, keeping trespassers out. You lie down in the hole where once was a large tree, feeling as though the essence of the world is coursing through you as you lie on top of the Ley Line. As a last thing before you go to sleep you order the tiny blood golem as you've began to call it, to surround the orb of Empowered Blood Essence and keep it from spilling. And with that done you slowly drift to sleep.

You wake up with a slightly sore neck from having apparently slept in an odd angle, but otherwise feel fine. You look around and find the red orb next to you and you resume control of it, the minuscule blood golem almost swimming through it. You order your minions aside and look around. One of your Goblins is missing its left arm, and what was left of your wolf minion has been eaten at. At a distance of several tens of meters are a multitude of animals, most of which jump and run off as they see you move. Next to the goblin is the corpse of an above average sized fox, and away from them leads a trail of blood. A squirrel and a rabbit lie dead near the other goblin, and three small forest mice lie within an area of ten meters from your new home, with your bird minion perched on the top of your roof, and the most likely one to have done this. As you move about you see several more smaller animals skitter away from the area, and the birds in the area obviously stirred. You only mumble to yourself "It's quite the attraction here".

What's your plan for the morning.

>A) Finish your home, add a bed and a proper roof, and maybe add clay to the walls and prepare a fireplace if there's time.
>B) Raise the fox and all of the small animals laying about.
>C) Practice your magic with the abundant magical energy coming from the ground. (see >>984010 )

I am assuming that we are going to stay here and make a home/(settlement maybe) so, might as well get a house going.

then when done
>>B) Raise the fox and all of the small animals laying about.

Side Note: The settlement idea is manly for protection and once it gets big enough hopefully a decent place to gather knowledge if other magic users join it(magic settlement).
Sorry if this is not a coherent thought, been up since 6. Ill come back to this tomorrow to figure if it makes sense.

Seeing the mess around your new home, you find newfound inspiration to finishing what you started. You take down the thin trees that compose your roof and begin carving indentations in some of them, so they fit better where you want them. Your home now beginning to form a pointed roof to better handle rain and wind. The same weaving technique used on the walls now being used on the roof with the help of your bear minion being used as a table of sorts to stand on. The topmost bit having a double layer of weaving to keep water from seeping through whatever cracks. Soon two hours passed and you, and your goblins begin making tiles of bark and clay to place on top of your home, to better block the rain. More time passes and you have one of your goblins make a fire to dry the tiles while another goblin begins mixing clay and dirt and press it against the wooden weave to keep out more wind.

Another two hours passed and your walls are half covered with clay, drying to harden before you can continue as your roof finally seems capable of blocking most of the rain that would hit it. Your bear has helped shovel more dirt into your home, filling the space where the uprooted large tree was, and your home seems complete, aside from a real fireplace which you make your goblins make, the one armed one having more difficulties working the dirt and clay than the other one. While your goblins do that you focus upon the largest corpse in the area and begin raising it, another half an hour passes and you see noon approaching. Feeling confident with what you've done you begin to plan your next activities.

(I started writing last night, honestly. I just quit and went to sleep too.)

Death Magic, or Necromancy, your primary forte. That which comes to you easier than even the most basic of magical practices wandering travelers have given you hints towards, as sharing of magical secrets is often frowned upon. Though for the past day or so you've been using your newly gained Blood Magic more due to your slight obsession of acquiring it, you feel that your natural talent is being neglected and therefore should be trained once more, especially since now the opportunity is at hand.

Your practice of death magic has always been odd, to your knowledge at least. The traveling adventurers that you have spoken or heard talking mentioned memorizing runes, calling upon gods, or learning to control the energies that compose their magic, but you have had none of that. Your way of practice held more similarity to those of their hand-to-hand fighters, your practice was meditation and inner focus, sometimes combined with playing with the energies that you formed, and other times trying out ideas which naturally formed or even creating depictions of things you saw in your daily life doing all sorts of jobs in and mostly around the little village you lived in before.

This time your energy isn't as limited as then, and with that your desire to test your limit rushes through you. You stand outside of your home, the Ley line fueling you, almost channeling into you, and you conjure up death bolts but keeping them in place. You first summon four, a number which would've previously almost exhausted your mana reserves. Then six, seven... all the way up to eleven at which point your control over them weakens and you are forced to send one out, not exactly sure how to dispel them without using them. You play around with the ten orbs of death, making forms, patterns, and drawings, before attempting to pull them apart with your control.

The first almost explodes faster than you can see, a blast of black smoke expanding around its original location before dissipating completely. The second attempt bursts out in a single direction while the third cracks open like an egg and seems to drip out onto the ground, making the grass there decay. Only at the fifth attempt do you begin to gain a semblance of control before it releases, and at the twentieth attempt you seem successful in guiding what seems like black smoke out of the previously whole Death Bolt. The early afternoon passes quickly with more and more attempts, and even a (successful) attempt at raising the dead mouse skeleton by filling it up with the gas and using the gas as focus for raising it.
