Ogres of the Swamp: The proudest and strongest family of the plains.

------------

The Ogres set a hard pace - 1 turn removed from trip - will receive an exhausted penalty to battle - arrive next turn

The Evil host leaves the Ogre Town - They set a hard, but steady pace, bonus to movement (they are no stranger to marching and have recently rested) - arrive turn after ogres

Many of the remaining ogres start playing with the lassoes. Catching children ogres and such.

CULTURE: Bondage fetish added - knots and such - set to ongoing

Sneaking is urged upon the ogres. Smaller ogres seem to excel at this, particularly children. They are much better at hiding - hiding added. -Sneak -ongoing - Skill level- mediocre/low

Dong-Key receives word of the similarities between common-folk hats and the visitors’ armor. He begins to apply his juice magic to the early models of bone-armor and wood-armor. - set to ongoing - CULTURE BONUS next turn -> will be as if you pump it

Zreck contemplates his method of removing Thrith. Attacking him whilst he’s in his tent would be easiest he decides. Particularly once the blessings of Zonir are achieved.

The human farm has begun producing vegetables at a poor rate - slavery + curious ogre -ongoing

Northern Excursion:

A wall is begun: Ongoing unavailable (population too small) - 1/3 complete

Relations with the sea ogres continues to grow. Many of the walri rely completely on the ogres for food, especially since fish has been added to the diet. Some of the sea ogres have taken to following the land ogres around, but they are kinda slow on land. Some shiny, colorful rocks have been gifted to the Northern Excursion

Food issues may begin soon in the north.

This will be difficult and will gain no favor with Zonir, the god of lust, desire and war; whom the ogres worship

The evil host (currently allied to the ogres) in pursuit will then have the ability to attack the humans first

The small riverside town comes into view as the ogres crest a slowly rising hill. It appears they have been building defenses. A wooden spike wall surrounds its outskirts and a wooden stockade is somewhat built.

You are quickly spotted and 3 quick horn blasts break out followed by a pause and then another 3 and so on. It’s as though you have kicked an anthill. Scurrying, shouting and preparing occurs all over as the humans collect weapons and get into position. A rider leaves to the north, he’s hauling ass (Rapid communication research set to ongoing).

Construction and research turns will be halted for the length of the battle. Battle turns will be 3 turns per normal turn (I may speed it up if all out battle begins)

As you approach, the humans have archers stand on the raised platforms behind what stockade they have prepared. Shield wielding spearmen line up behind the spike wall. They are spaced about 1 man apart, the town is kinda big. Behind them, with swords sheathed, men bark orders and prepare to lead through the battle. Some of them are flanked by other swordsmen and clusters of spearmen, whom stand silently and wait.

From what you can tell there’s about 20 archers, 75 spearmen, 30 swordsmen. The screams and terror of women and children appears to be missing. Zreck can’t help but wonder if there are soldiers guarding the other entrances.

Cresting the hill and glancing curiously at one another to see how the other ogres feel about this, your army plods towards the defences. You have roughly 60 warhammers ogres, 90 gnoll weapon ogres (ranging from crude axes and wood mounted blades to sharp sticks), about 5 human spears. And of course, Spike (or Tognog Stinkfoot, his birthname, if you wish). The rest of your ogres are using large wooden planks, clubs or rocks. Very few of you are unarmed

The evil host is a ways behind you (since turns have been slowed for the battle)
>>
>>994963
Several ogres “present” themselves and hold their warhammers up whilst yelling about how good they could feel and how much the ogres will give them if the humans just give up. The humans do not respond.

Curious, Zreck orders some quick ogres to check out the other sides of the town.

(If you leave your votes simple like attack the village.. well, I’ll give you an example of how I view this kind of voting:

Seduce humans with gifts and better tools: 1
Attack village and take slaves:1
Sneak and scout the town: 1
Gather rocks: 1
Double assault on town: 1

Turns into:

Attempt diplomacy by trying to seduce and impress the humans
Attack the village: 3
Sneak and scout first, gather rocks first
Attack from both sides. sneak attack from the other side.

—————

So, if by “attack”, you actually mean “all the ogres attack at once via the front” please make it clear. Keep this sort of stuff in mind when voting. Or not. Whatever)
>>
>>994963
Your force is ~600 strong. It includes 400 "Army" ogres and 200 various ogres, including women, pregnant women and children.
>>
>>994967
So you want more specific instructions?

Alright, our first mistake was being seen. So lets move back behind the hill so they can't see us.
Now let's gather throwing rocks until our scouts report back.
Divide our troops into infantry(150), sneky(??) and throwers(everyone else)
Finally, wait for nightfall and send sneki ogres around to the least defended spot. (presumably the back)
Then the main force begins lobbing rocks.
After waiting a few minutes for the rocks to soften them up, the infantry charges in.
As the infantry charge, Zreck gives a battlecry to signal the sneki ogres to snek in the back and flank the hoomie troops.
Also the throwers advance to throw further into the town avoiding friendly fire.
When the throwers run out of ammo, they pick up their clubs and join the melee.

Then as the battle winds down, we take prisoners.
Finally after the battle we gather loot, dismantle the town for building supplies and burn whatever we can't take.

This plan is subject to change as the scouting report is read.

Also do we have any armor or tappy helmets yet?
>>

>So you want more specific instructions?
>want

Nope, I want to just make up whatever.

But if you don't explain your desires, I'm just gonna make as many people happy as I can.
>>
>>995089
>Also do we have any armor or tappy helmets yet?

No, a lot of the ogres have tied together bone or wood as hats. They function as helmets kinda.

I have a feeling armor might be a bit more important to the average ogre after this battle

Pulling back from the hill to a place where they cannot be seen, the ogres begin collecting what rocks and things they can find. Luckily, there are plenty near the river.

Dividing up his troops, Zreck prepares a melee unit, a ranged unit and a sneaky unit.

Spike is a small ogre, but he is fierce. He is been put in charge of the sneaky unit and he grabs those who are loyal to him and those who are good at sneaky. They number ~75. Some older children have been chosen.

The scout reports back that there are men guarding the other sides. but not nearly as many as the front. Roughly as many spearmen as there are in the front are scattered around the sides. A few archers too

Deciding to capitalize on this, Zreck orders his sneaky unit to wait until nightfall and attack from the back.
-Nighttime-

The evil host will be here in an hour. You can hear their trumpet blasts and see the silhouettes of their banners.

Having traveled quickly and worked upon arriving. Your ogres are kinda tired but they are becoming filled with strange urges and energies.

Deciding that it’s now or never. Zreck orders his ranged forces to move into position.

It appears that the spear wall is less numbered than it was. Perhaps with all the waiting they began to expect a flank even more.

Horn blast break out again, the same 3 and a pause, 3 and a pause.

Your ranged enter arrow range before they get close enough to throw rocks. They tear into your ranks, causing mayhem and disorder. Several ogres are hurt but very few die straight away.
>>
>>998183
Frustrated by their inability to return fire, several ogres get angry and begin charging. RAGE activated. Others follow. These ogres toss their rocks in front of them as they get close wreaking havoc on the unlucky spearmen to be hit. The spike wall is somewhat damaged but manages to seriously injure 12 or so ogres. The spears begin their stabbing on the poorly armed ogres to the expected effect, roughly 10 ogres are slaughtered and thrice that injured before the ogres can even get within clobbering range.

Noticing his plan coming to ruin, Zreck orders the charge with a brutish battlecry and a pumping of his warhammer in the direction of the town.

The disciplined ranged have begun charging, focusing their hatred and large rocks onto the slightly raised archers. The effect is devastating. The archers almost completely stop.

The human town is in anarchy, complete with a few deserters turning tail and trying to get the fuck out.

Orders bark out for reinforcements from the other sides of the town. His clusters of swordsmen and spearmen are ordered to fill the gaps preventing the complete loss of the battle.

The ranged are blocking the way in for the infantry and they spread to the sides, enveloping the front half of the town. Several ogres begin climbing over the stockade, making the archers job that much easier.

Shouts and the tell-tale sounds of battle break out from the other side of the town as Spike leads his sneaky forces with great success. Apparently, he decided to sneak up as best he could instead of just charging when the battlecry began.

Sensing imminent defeat, the human commander begins yelling “retreat” and “to the ships”. Various other humans begin repeating his order as the battle continues. Pushing through the disintegrating spear wall, the ogres clobber their way through the scattered resistance.

A remarkably organized retreat begins, it appears they had prepared a contingency. Holding the streets and backing up as quickly as they can, the surviving spearmen work their way to the dock. Arrows begin fleeting in above their heads from the direction of the water.

In the end, a wall of spearmen is forced to sacrifice themselves in order to give the 2 ships time to escape. Several are subdued non-lethally. Some of them jumping into the river and swimming for their lives. The commander, some archers, several swordsmen and a score of spearmen escape the town. Arrows arc from the ships as it makes it’s escape. They row desperately against the current, the small sail set-ups giving the boost required to escape in good time.

A single human woman is found hiding in one of the buildings, she is young and fierce. She attempts to kill an ogre when she is found and is quickly subdued. Apparently she was too stubborn and “tough” to leave with the other non-combatants. Spike claims her, threatening to beat the unlucky ogre who discovered her.

Roughly 30 humans are not-seriously injured and 40 are seriously injured, 50 lay dead. ~30 ogres are dead, ~70 are wounded, half of which are seriously wounded.

The town has, for the most part, been stripped of anything valuable. It was clearly done in a bit of a hurry though. Various human nonsense and tools are found including high quality carpentry tools, human weapons and armor.
>>
>>998225
That roll saved your ass, I'd of liked to kill a lot more ogres than that
>>
A breakthrough is made! We can use the bone hat technique to cover body parts other than heads! Blessings of Zonir and applying juice to the armor strengthens it! It’s as tappy as some metal armor!

Zonir blessing permanently gained for war related crafting

High quality juice rope is made and several more nets are sent north.

Food begins being produced at a greater rate from the farm, although it is still quite minimal. Some of the humans are even heard laughing, albeit, not very often. The friendly ogres who work with them treat the humans nicely and care for them as best they can.

The Gnolls are tough little bastards and have suffered very few deaths. They have grown into their role and accept ogre dominance quite nicely. Their makeshift additions to the temple and Zreck’s house are odd but sturdy.

Gnolls are becoming more and more prevalent out in the wilds. They are seen to the east and west by the hunting parties and the south is full of hackling and cackling at night. There are no reports of attacks though. Hunting is producing less food. You should be good for a turn or so. Perhaps the hunters simply need to travel further?

Northern Excursion

Some of the land ogres have grown quite attached to the sea ogres and spend much of the day with their partner. Some even make sexual advances, but apparently the walri aren’t ready for that sort of nonsense yet. Shiny, colorful rocks continue to be collected on the beach.

An idea occurs to one of the land ogres and he attempts to ride a sea ogre. The walrus just lays there as the ogre sits on top of it. Trying again in the water, he notices it’s kinda hard to stay on them.

Overpowered by the strange urges building within them, the ogres begin a massive feast and orgy. They may not have found much food but dead human taste a little like pork.

Whilst devouring the dead humans, the lust-driven ogres take advantage of the disarmed and exhausted soldiers. Harsh resistance is received at first from the tough men who are used to almost constant hard work, but, alas, one human is no match for 3 ogres and soon, the new slaves stop resisting. Zreck claims 2 humans for himself and Spike claims 1 soldier as well as his fierce girl, whom he doesn’t savage immediately.

Instead, he forces her to watch as he ruins the male he claimed. A number of times he presents himself to her for oral, but she refuses. His male harem soon learns the price of displeasing Tognog Stinkfoot.

Many of the most injured humans are sacrificed to Zonir, their life juice stored for later use in some of the pottery that the humans considered not-valuable. Whatever life juice can be salvaged from the dead is also saved.

The human weapons and armor are dispersed amongst the ogres. The armor is a bit small, but perhaps something can be worked out. Such as how some of the ogres are wearing Torso armor loosely on their arms, the arm portions flopping about as the oversized owners do their thing.

Searching the town more thoroughly does yield better results with some more farming and fishing equipment, kegs of ale, cups, mugs, human clothing, beds, cabinets, chairs, tables and other household items which could not be evacuated. These fancy items are stacked outside the town in preparation for the trek back to OgresVille.
>>
>>1005475
The evil host had watched the end of the battle from the hill where the ogres had advanced from. Now, they have moved closer to the town. The chair litter has been placed in a spot outside the town and Thrith has sent out his goblins and ogres, whilst keeping his ornate guard and trolls close-by.

The ogres join the feast and the orgy

The Hobgoblins need something a little more sporty and claim the dying soldiers to illicit their violent convictions onto. Some are brought back to Thrith and he sicks the trolls on them. Much to Thrith’s amusement, they do a wonderfully terrible job of bringing slow, agonizing death to the unfortunate souls at the same time as making the trolls about as happy as a troll can get.

So amused is he, that he orders about 10 of the less injured humans to be claimed and sets them into duels to the death with his well rested ornate guard. The poorly armed and unarmored soldiers are simply no match and are thusly cut down, one after another. Although, a few hobgoblins are injured. A quick death is not usually granted to the exhausted and defiled humans and if it is, it is by accident.

The underling goblins quickly set about to destroying anything and everything they can find, hooting and hollering as they go. Some join the orgy and ALL gobble up what they can get their hands on, although, their little appetites are no comparison to the hunger of ogres. It is not long however, until they “accidentally” set the town on fire, forcing a rapid evacuation. (dice roll)

The festivities for the evening complete, Thrith sends for Zreck (Does he come quickly, or does he arrive on his own time)

The Ogres are ecstatic with their findings! ARMOR CULTURE BONUS [Armor is now produced automatically]. They even develop a ~Very~ fancy way to make helmets. It’s pretty neat.

10 armor produced. At the moment armor doesn’t cover the entirety of the ogre, it’s kind of a tunic. Leaving the lower legs, forearms and neck exposed. Due to the juice additives which make it as tappy as metal armor, all armor has a black color

Dong-Key sets it upon himself to ask the Evil Host to train their ogres in the way of war.

With the invention of armor, Dong-Key realizes that ogres might get hurt during war. That’s why they need armor! Juice Healing Research started.

Northern Excursion:

The sea ogres have begun helping with the fishing and some of them live in the river-side town!

Some dutiful ogres have begun transporting rocks down to the main town and some main town ogres have decided to move north and live with the sea ogres.
