Gyrocite uses an AP system. You may perform as many actions as your AP allows.

All players can do the following moves:

[*Observe] 3AP 2d12+MAR+AP Hit: 16 Observe to discover information. The higher degree of success the more information revealed.
[*!Crouch] 3AP Crouch down. +10% gun damage. Take -20% damage from guns. Take +10% damage if attacked by melee. Moving takes 8AP. -1 sight profile -2 sound profile. Get back up for 1AP
[*!Prone] 3AP Lay on the floor prone. +20% gun damage. Take -30% damage from guns. Take +20% damage if attacked by melee. Moving takes 12AP. -2 sight profile -3 sound profile. Get back up for 3AP
[*Move] 4AP/2AP Move up to VEN. Spend 2AP to move half VEN rounded down
[*Interact] 3AP Universal action to interact with switches and other items found.
[*Reload] 6AP reload your gun/equipment once its ammo is depleted.

All rolls are done using d24. The reason being is that 24 has many factors enabling several dice combinations to be rolled.

Gyrocite is a full on TTRPG but is mathematically consistent enough that once a single class is learned the others can be played as well. Character creation is robust and varied enough that no two characters are exactly the same. If you'd like to jump into the thick of things now then simply copy a sheet from here:

Please take care not to go too wild with the collateral damage until you locate them inside one of the buildings.

Antonio: Our best bet at finding them is tailing one of the gang leaders by the name of Foca. A contact told us he tends to hang out in the cemetery during this time of day to visit some old friends. Lirenis and Prefect we’re counting on you to do that. Act natural and you shouldn’t have any trouble.

Carolina: As for the rest of you you’ll be causing chaos. To draw them away from the hostages. While you’re there try to find any drug labs they may have. We’ll reward you for destroying those too.

The beachhead take defensive positions and move slowly. They are only met with the crashing of waves below them. Alex tries to look through the grass but has a hard time of doing so. It does give him some ideas however.

Catrina: From the looks of it these two paths go different ways. We should probably pick one side.

Beachfront property won't be where they keep the breweries.

Gairan, you're a chem-head. Can you [Observe] for a smells or signs of improved ventilation? That would likely be a druglab. They need specific facilities to maintain production.

Mamut, you spent some time hunting back-alley brutes. Isn't this ground just like that? You could maybe try to [Observe] for likely stations, or guard-quarters, or rallying points. Signs of crime.

Catarina, you have access to Solvenide. [Sense] houses with very increased temperature, and you'll find drug labs with multiple working occupants and chemical equipment.

Grigori, you know how to cook, right? Not sure there's much difference, and you're a fine scout too. If you [Observe] for the kind of house you think would have an expanded kitchen (vents, pipes, smells) that's a good place for a lab.

Julien, these people need to congegrate and do their work somewhere. You're good with crowds, right? Where would you hold a mob rally or a late night bloc party?

Alex, you're a gearhead. The first thing the Dadinhos would have done would be to modify the inside of a few houses to serve as production facilities, and we know they have more advanced equipment than they should. Maybe you can [Observe] for likely sounds of a mod-shop or an armory or the sounds of a workshop? Not to mention check out the locales for a chopshop.

Lirenis casually walks up to Foca. Before she can begin to flirt, the smell of fruit reaches her and a flurry of traumatising memories flash through her mind. Instead of any coherent words all she can seem to say are random spasms.

Foca: Who the hell are you? Can you talk?

???: Maybe she had too much “Gringha”. Could be another junkie looking for more.

Foca: Shut up Tino. You deal with her I’m busy. Take her to Sonia’s with the other cogheads.

Tino: Alright boss.

While witnessing this debacle, Prefect smells the tell-tale sign of someone cooking something illicit. He notices a suspicious blue house that would be perfect as a drug lab. Who knew his time with the CCR would pay off?

The beachhead stealthily make their way into the favela. Grigory notices two lookouts guarding a small house and sees movement through the windows. There’s more people inside there but it doesn’t look like one of the houses they’re looking for. Gairan and Julien walk into the grass and lie in wait. Alex runs up the hill and hops the fence. He’s briefly spotted. Alex observes intently around his surroundings. The house in front of him looks unoccupied but he can’t tell. He able to hear screams of agony coming off from the distance.

Alex and El Mamut get to higher ground to see what they can find. El mamut finds a clear path higher up the favela while Alex finds two gangers with shotguns. The shotguns look like new models. Grigory inches forward and assesses the situation. He sees several avenues of cover he can use. (Cover is a flat DR bonus. Look at the number inside the shield to see it’s value. Don’t forget to list you’re behind cover when posting turns).

Lirenis plays along and follows the ganger having the wherewithal to flirt. The goon takes to her easily. She notices he has a small gun similar to a Silver Dollar. It even has the familiar hum. Prefect springs to the top of the hill and sneaks behind the houses. He notices a window for the blue house.

Prefect peeks inside the window and sees a drug lab up and running. He squeezes his way to the street and finds himself mostly alone. Foca continues to Lirenis continues to move with Tino to Sonia’s. El Mamut treks through the Favela. A shot rings out and hits the luchador who fails to dodge. Luckily Catrina’s imbuement makes the shot mere child’s play. Without a GFE Grigory takes a shot by the rifleman who can still manage despite being covered in glue. He instinctively grabs for a capacitor to get his shield up. Catrina catalyzes the ground beneath the barrel launching it at the brute and getting a good hit on him. The brute runs towards the glued house and gets backup. El Mamut is stuck in a killzone and Catrina’s imbuement while powerful is no match for the volley of fire he gets. Luckily his armor keeps him from harm. Prefect makes his way towards Foca. On the way he glances in the building to see some gangers packing drugs in the purple building and scared locals hiding within their humble residences.

Carolina: You all have started from the sound of it. We’ll make a call to your associates to join.

Antonio: Take care. Focus down the largest threat. The worst thing you can do is find yourself alone. Carol, do you know who this Sonia is.

I don't think I can actually reach the sniper from where I am on the ground since I don't have El Mamut's climbing PIQ unless I switch on my JGS (giving me +2 MOV, -4 RE and letting me jump vertically 3 tiles until I switch it off again).

Apart from that, El Mamut's GFE is still down. If you've like to spend his AP getting it up again, you could move him somewhere safe behind cover, while I try to disarm the gangers on the ground instead. I'm not free to actually formulate the specifics of a turn right now, but I can do it in a few hours if you haven't already done it by then.

Also, bear in mind that El Mamut has about a 62% chance of disarming a given target successfully, while I have about a 69% chance of doing so, as we need to roll above a 16 on 2d12+VEN (unless it's actually Hit >=16, in which case it's 69% and 75% respectively).

Grigory runs into the building and holds down the door. Fortuna sprints towards the brute taking his sword but not his pistol. El Mamut and Alexander both disarm a thug throwing their weapons away as they have no room to keep them. Gairan fires more glue at the thugs immobilizing them while Julien uses the opportunity to strike.

Lirenis enters the building to find a makeshift clinic. A very tired woman sits at a table while a young girl helps where she can. Several sick people are laying down on the floor or in beds.

Sonia: Ah you’re not from around here? My name is Sonia and this is my assistant Maria. I run this clinic. Ever since those bastardos ran in we’ve been miserable. There’s more cases than ever before and this was after we stopped getting help from Rocha. Those idiots started demanding tribute and kidnapped their doctors. Now I’m the only one around here who can do anything. I never trusted Rocha but they at least lightened my load even if those quacks would give placebos to half of their patients.

Prefect runs into Foca. The ganger looks impatient.

Several of the crew take fire. El Mamut is hit point blank with a shotgun but his armor protects him. Alexander is hit with a rifle bullet from somewhere. Fortuna takes two bullets from the brute’s pop gun. Julien is attacked but experly deflects his assailants while launching them in the air for their troubles. To make a bad situation worse several gangers come running from all directions.

Lirenis still overwhelmed nods to noone in particular to affirm her decision.

Alex jumps off the building slamming an unsuspecting ganger with his fist. The force sends the ganger into the ground knocking him prone. His insult just confuses the gangers. Julien jumps into the fray delivering another devastating vento corto. The gangers start to assess the situation and single him out as the biggest threat. Lirenis jaunts her into some unsuspecting mooks whipping them both into dirtnaps. Grigory finishes off a shield with a well placed shot. Fortuna shoves the brute outside and runs away. She fails to disarm the brute again but picks up the weapons the gangers that Lirenis downed had. Prefect moves himself out of Foca’s way.

Seeing the destruction he wrought the gangers pile on to Julien to overwhelm him. He parries their attacks, throws them in the air, has them hit each other, then ripostes to add insult to injury. A firing line emerges and have their sights on Julien. With the Mervenyst imbuement he takes barely any damage. Seeing an opportunity, gangers try to shoot El Mamut in the back. The luchador knows it’s coming and deftly dodges, leaping to the other building. Lirenis doesn’t fair as well as a her assailants shoot out her shield. Alexander barely notices the gunman on the roof and dodges for cover. A ganger tries to use this opportunity to strike Alexander. Alexander parries the attack but fails his disarm. Prefect stands out of Foca’s way. Foca turns around to address his men.

Foca: We did get tipped off they would start some shit. Rally whoever else you can and crush them.

Goon: But I don’t have a gun.

Foca: Then get another one at the fucking armory. It’s in the middle of town. Meu Sete the big green building. Do I have to hold your fucking hand!?

After the exchange Prefect continues down with none of the gangers suspicious. He starts to smell the familiar metallic sting he encountered at the first drug lab. This one is within sight.

On the importance of facing:

Your character has less than 180 degree's of vision. Prepared actions such as dodging or overwatches trigger when the "trigger" is within LoS. Facing is free, for now. Keep that in mind or you'll be shot in the back a whole lot. How do you know if you're looking at something? Use the tiles as a guide. Looking north you can see everything between 6-wards and 2-wards in a fairly large cone. Overwatches a much smaller and only cover a 60 degree cone. Parries only cover where you face and to the right. That's the rules that the enemies follow so for my sanity you'll be following them too.

Keep in mind [#Gut Feeling] ignores these restrictions when dodging.

I've done Uppercut -> jump -> Rising Dragon before during the PvP battle with Aleid, and Rising Dragon has no cooldown, so I don't see any reason why not.

Two options:

A. Uppercut has no cooldown but targets don't "float" in the air. Not letting you juggle enemies. They fall down at the end of your act phase and can still attack.
(The same can happen to you.) Rising dragon stays as is.

B. Uppercut stays as is. This let's you juggle enemies and essentially delete a turn. Rising dragon gets a cooldown to mirror uppercut so you're not flying up sky scrapers via mook.

BTW your fists might be gentle but the ground isn't.

Option B probably makes the most sense from a balance standpoint since Option A allows skyscraper climbing, and I don't think you intended players to be able to use Rising Dragon to gain height like this. You do have that juggling POT though, so I assume that usage was intended.

Admittedly, the maximum height attainable is still limited by the player's AP or CB; since I have enough AP to 6 times in a row, I'd 'only' be able to get a maximum of 18 tiles of height in ideal conditions, and I feel like my AP is pretty high.

If you'd like a limited amount of self-chaining without ridiculous height gained, perhaps have some kind of AP or CB cost to reset the cooldowns?

I'll do this instead since this is technically already in place.

We'll do option A and B. Get rid of the cooldown on uppercut. Enemies fall down at the beginning of their turn unless you prepare attacks for the next phase. Rising dragon can't be used again until you touch the "ground" keep in mind ground is open to interpretation.

Other changes to consider.

[Viper Cutter] loses AP damage. Most things die from it so I never had to calculate it.

[Suplex] 4*b -->6*b More damage. Gets AP damage from [Viper Cutter]

[Haymaker] moved to Brawler

new mechanic for Pivot since it was essentially an auto dodge but sucked.

[%Pivot] move an adjacent target to another tile adjacent to you after successfully dodging. Target is vulnerable to friendly fire.

Boar Rush makes a little more sense now. It triggers when running into a target. Instead of stop you take the target with you. You must spend the AP/EN for a basic attack to "pick up" the target. You may also attack them only spending base energy for each tile moved. You can do this with more than one target. Up to Jup.

[%Boar Rush] 1CB *EN (per target) When running take foes with you. Spending base energy lets you do a basic attack per tile moved. May only push JUP foes.

[Combat Roll] Needs to be reworked. With [Dodge] being a thing it's either a very broken auto-dodge or near useless.

Alex and El Mamut show off their fighting skills by delivering devastating combos. El Mamut beats a brute destroying his shield and nearly finishing him. Alex launches into the air and an extremely powerful pike buster punches the gunner through the roof. He also gets a good look around while floating in the air. Lirenis cleans up and is able to expel El Mamut’s image making poor copies of him. The gangers are in such a daze it may be enough. Julien goes on the defensive keeping all the attention on him. Fortuna tries to disarm the ganger but doesn’t succeed. She prepares for the retaliation. Grigory sneaks through the window with the line of gunmen none the wiser. In an act of no judgment, Gairan fires a volley of Sprinklers where El Mamut is. The brute is turned into salsa and luckily El Mamut is unharmed.

Carolina: I just got word that the Meninos are on their way. Our police informants have notified me that you’ll be seeing more red coming your way.

The crew take significant damage. Fortuna is heavily shot. Lirenis’ light trick keeps some of the gangers off of her and El Mamut but one sees through the ruse and attacks her. Gairan is punched with a haymaker throwing him forward. Alex while in the air catches a glimpse of Foca’s reinforcements. The aftermath of his attack has a resident fleeing. Despite being surrounded Julien is unharmed. With a parry he positions a ganger in between him and the volley of bullets that come using the unfortunate ganger as a shield.

Prefect climbs up top the shack and is able to see Foca approach a woman in a white coat. An unfamiliar voice comes through Prefect’s vocaven

the 140% happening to the shredder isn't for your dice but damage. So you're shooting 12 bullets for 2.4-4.2 damage each.

Dead draw I'll have to put a condition as that's not what it's for but good play. Ambidextrous penalty happens as long as you're using a shared AP between the two weapons.

Not quite free enough to do a turn right now.

As a suggestion: either have me move over to back up El Mamut and Lirenis, probably with a bunch of Disarms; or Boost once or twice, Wind Up a bunch, turn off the JGS and try to use the fall to collapse the armory with a Pike Buster.

The crew go for a devastating counter attack. Between Gairan’s bombs and Grigoy’s shotgun blasts the firing line doesn’t know what hits them. El Mamut and Lirenis take out more while Fortuna breaks away and hides. Julien cleans up the last of his assailants when a group of baffled gangers in green crest the hill and see the carnage that only half a dozen have done. An older man with two machetes walking ahead.
