Hello, good people of /qst/. This quest is, as is probably obvious from the OP pic, based on the Teen Titans animated series. You'll be taking the part of a young man and potential Titan, guiding him through his trials and tribulations.

>Rules

There will be a 15 minute voting period between posts.

Please only choose one option (I will let you know in cases where you can choose more)

An option with two arrows (>>) beside it is one that can be combined with other options

Write-ins of dialogue are allowed, but they won't be put in as-written, just sort of the spirit of the write-in. Additionally, dialogue write-ins require a significant amount of support from other players to be put in, as they can greatly affect the character.

Action write-ins will only be allowed under certain circumstances, which I'll announce. You can suggest an action to me if you want, and I may allow it, but might not depending on various factors.

No dice system in this quest. Victory and defeat will come down to decisions rather than random luck. Learn from experiences, develop strategies, and think outside the box at times (like I said, an action can be suggested to me).

Above all, have fun. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for everyone. Through success, failure, and everything in-between, I hope this will be an adventure worth remembering.

The looks the other Titans are giving you are just priceless. Cyborg seems to recover the fastest, smiling a bit, though whether that's because you managed to successfully control your new power, or because he was right about what that power was, you can't say. Robin, Beast Boy, and Starfire, on the other hand, look pretty much stunned. You assume it's not because of your new outfit, but who knows? Maybe you just look really good in it. You stand there, letting your question hang in the air while you wait for the other Titans to gather their thoughts and say something.

"It suits you marvelously," Starfire tells you with a smile.

"Yeah, it's a good look for you," Robin agrees. "Glad to see that Cyborg and I did a good job."

"I'm not too crazy about the mask," Beast Boy admits, rubbing his chin. "But the rest of it looks good. More importantly, did you just teleport?"

"Yes," you answer.

"Called it!" Cyborg declares, pumping his fist.

"Well, that should come in handy," Robin tells you. "And it'll make you a lot tougher to fight if you get good with it."

Teleportation in combat could be very useful, this is true, but at the moment, with it tiring you considerably each time you teleport, it may be best not to overly rely on it in dangerous situations just yet. When you learn to use it more efficiently, however, you agree that it will be very useful.

Before the conversation can progress any further, red lights begin to flash, and an alarm blares, signalling to everybody in the tower that there's trouble, and the Titans are needed. Everyone leaps up and runs for the garage, including yourself. Raven meets the group down there, using her magic to reach the destination. Robin and Starfire hop on the R-Cycle, Cyborg hops into the driver seat of the T-Car, Beast Boy calls shotgun, and you sit in the back next to Raven.

The vehicles speed out and away from the tower, moving swiftly through the city toward the source of trouble. You notice that nobody said what exactly is going on, but you assume that at least Robin and Cyborg know where to go, even if they don't know the enemy.

"Where are we going?" you ask Cyborg as the T-Car speeds through the city.

Cyborg looks at you through the rear-view mirror. "Jump City's First National Bank. There's apparently been a break-in."

"Do you know who or what we're dealing with?" you ask.

Cyborg turns his full-focus back to the road. "All we know is that people called whoever this is a "monster", which doesn't narrow things down a whole lot considering the kinds of people we fight. Could be someone like Mumbo, dude can create all sorts of illusions that might make people think he's a monster."

"I don't think that's it," Beast Boy comments. "Sure, Mumbo's ugly, but I don't think anyone would mistake him for a monster."

"Well, it could be Cinderblock, or Plasmus, or Overload," Cyborg rattles off names that hold no meaning to you. "Heck, it could even be Control Freak sending movie monsters at the bank."

So, none of them know, they can only guess. Alright. They don't seem all that worried, in any case, which you figure you should take some comfort in. You remain quiet for the rest of the ride, which isn't very much longer, until you pull up at the bank, which has a nice new hole in its front entrance. There isn't too much of a crowd, so you figure that most of the people that were around when this started took off.

Everyone gets off and out of their vehicles, approaching the entrance in a group. A desk is hurled from inside the bank, but Starfire shoots it down with her eye-beams before it can hit anybody. The sound of the desk exploding is quickly followed by a growl, and a massive creature steps into the sunlight.

You aren't really sure what it is, but it's big, and looks like it's made of some kind of stone. In its left arm, it has what looks to be a multitude of gold bars, while its right is empty and clenched into a fist. It looks at you and the other Titans with red, inhuman eyes, dropping its ill-gotten gains and roaring in challenge, charging right toward your team.

"Titans, go!" Robin shouts.

This thing's charging straight at you guys. It would be a shame if it just so happened to lose its balance. Most of the others scatter, but you stand your ground, psychically pushing against its legs in an effort to trip it up. As you strain and strain with no visible results, you realize that this strategy will not work for you. Of course, by the time that epiphany comes to you, the creature is standing right over you and throwing a punch. You don't know if one of your barriers will stop that.

Luckily, you don't have to find out, as Cyborg gets in front of you, and catches the monster's fist with both of his hands. He attempts to push it back, and the monster raises its other hand to strike. Before it gets the chance, a green elephant charges right into its side, pushing it away from you and Cyborg.

Exploding disks and starbolts hit the monster right after, keeping it stunned for a few seconds before it angrily picks up a car parked on the side of the street and hurls it toward Starfire. A black light surrounds the car, and gently sets it back on the ground. Starfire then swoops in and punches the creature in the face, causing it to stumble back just a bit before punching her in the stomach, then smashing her over the head.

Starfire is sent flying past Robin and hits the ground hard. Robin turns to see if she's alright, and the creature begins charging for him.

"Robin, look out!" you shout to your leader while focusing on the monster and throwing Psychic Punches at the side of its head.

The creature looks your way, and slows its charge just a bit. It seems confused as to what happened, but seems to understand that you were responsible, and so stops running at Robin, and comes charging right for you. Cyborg fires with his sonic cannon, which slows the creature down, then rushes in to attack. The monster backhands Cyborg out of the way, and resumes its movement toward you, only for something massive to fall from the sky and land on top of it.

Beast Boy, in the form of a Tyrannosaurus, slams the monster into the ground by landing on it, letting out a roar of triumph. He steps back, looking down at his fallen foe, but somehow the monster is able to push itself back up. It roars as Beast Boy and charges, but the green-skinned hero takes the form of a hawk and flies out of the monster's reach. A black glow surrounds the monster's ankles, and it's pulled off its feet, falling onto its back. Robin leaps onto its chest, and slams his staff into its face repeatedly. The creature punches up at Robin, who backflips out of the way and leaps off of its prone form.

As it picks itself back up, two green beams of light slam into its side. Somehow, it manages to keep standing, but it doesn't look very happy.

>A. Hit it with Psychic Punches to get its attention, then teleport to a new spot when it charges at you, and do it again. Keep it distracted so the others can find a way to take it down.

>B. Provide support; put barriers up in front of teammates when they fall under attack

>C. You have a crazy idea. Ask Raven to pull it onto its back again, then grab it, and try teleporting with it as high into the air as you can, and let it drop.

What can you do here? Your Psychic Attacks seem to be little more than annoying distractions for this monster. Even the members of the team with super strength aren't doing much to whatever this thing is, and are even getting ragdolled by it. You could try something crazy with your teleportation, but you aren't even entirely sure if your powers work in such a way that you could do what you were thinking of. So, you decide to play it safe. What have you been working on lately? Your barriers. Considering how tough this thing is, you aren't sure how much good they'll do, but you have to do something to help.

Starfire flies higher into the air to avoid the monster as it charges, raining starbolts down on it from a safe distance. As it looks around for something to throw at the alien girl, Cyborg charges at it and leaps up, bringing his fist to the back of the creature's stone skull.

The monster drops to one knee, holding its head and groaning in pain. Cyborg's fist morphs into a sonic cannon, and he fires a blast into the monster's back. Even with all of that, the creature manages to get back up, looking furiously at Cyborg and smashing him into the ground.

As the creature raises its fists again, you rush in to stand over your friend, creating as strong a barrier as you can manage in such a short amount of time. The creature swings its fists, which slam into your barrier. Your knees buckle, and pain flares through your head, but you manage to keep yourself standing, and the barrier up.

Even so, as the creature raises its fists yet again, you wonder if you'll be able to keep it up through another hit.

Starfire swoops in, tackling the monster onto its side and pushing it down the street. You see a flash of green light, and the monster cries out. A moment later,Starfire yelps, and is thrown into the air again, but caught by Beast Boy in the form of a Pteranadon, who gently takes her to the ground.

The creature gets back to its feet, growls, takes a step forward, and then collapses face-first into the street.

"Alright, Starfire!" you cheer as the girl picks herself back up.

"Oh yeah!" Cyborg shouts. "Nice, Star, very nice."

Robin walks over to Starfire, and the two share a smile.

"Save it for the tower, you two," Cyborg tells the couple, causing Robin to go slightly red in the face and Starfire to smile blissfully.

"So," you say, changing the subject. "Do the police have a way to lock this thing up?"

"Yeah, they've locked up worse than Cinderblock," Beast Boy assures you. "They'll be here any minute."

"Why was Cinderblock trying to rob a bank?" Raven asks.

"For money, duh," Beast Boy answers, earning an eye roll.

"Rae's got a point," Cyborg comments, coming to join the three of you. "I mean, what's the dude gonna buy?"

"Anybody want to get pizza?" you ask.

"Mmm...no thanks," Raven says, shaking her head. "I'll see you all back at the Tower."

Raven disappears, but both Cyborg and Beast look happy with your suggestion, and when Robin and Starfire come over, you ask if they would like to get pizza.

"That sounds good to me," Robin tells you, and Starfire expresses similar sentiments.

So, you're all soon gathered in an outdoor, second-story area of a local pizza place, which the Titans describe as "the best in the city". Everyone takes a seat, places their orders, and then takes a moment to relax after the battle that was just fought.

"Yo, Crimson, thanks for the help back there," Cyborg says to you.

"Thanks for helping me out back there," you say to him in turn.

"No problem, man," he says, taking a sip of his soda. "Cinderblock was really on his game today, wasn't he?"

"Tell me about it," Beast Boy agrees. "I dropped a T-Rex on him, and he still got back up and kept at it. Robin and Crimson couldn't even hurt him, even you and Starfire were having trouble."

"But why?" Robin asks. "Why fight so much harder now than he usually does? It doesn't make any sense. It's not like his haul was much larger than normal, and he obviously wasn't acting as a decoy to split us up."

"Someone could have hired him to rob the bank," Cyborg says with a shrug.

"Could it be Slade?" Starfire questions, not sounding like she really wants to know the answer.

"If it is, and he's planning something, we'll find out what and stop it," Robin promises, seeming more serious than you've ever really seen him.

"Rose hasn't said anything about him showing up, has she?" Beast Boy asks.

Robin shakes his head. "No, but it seems like she was never really in the loop for his plans anyway."

The pizza soon arrives, the the topics turn lighter, with everyone just talking like friends enjoying lunch rather than super heroes that just stopped a bank robbery and are questioning the motives. You kind of wish Raven was there with you guys, but it's still a very nice time even with a teammate missing.

"Anybody want to go to the music store after this?" you ask out of the blue.

"Sorry, I have to do some work on the T-Car," Cyborg tells you. "I can give you a lift there, though."

"I'm gonna have to opt out, too," Robin says. "I've got some reports to put together when we're done here."

Wait, reports to who?

"I'm in," Beast Boy tells you. "I've been meaning to see if they've got the Clash of the Planets soundtrack back in stock."

"I too will join you," Starfire offers.

Cyborg drops the three of you off in front of the store, telling you that he'll see you later before driving away.

One by one, the three of you step inside, finding yourselves standing before a sea of records, CDs, radios, handheld devices, and more. Beast Boy rushes right to a spot about three-quarters of the way across the store, probably looking for that CD he mentioned. Starfire just stands there, seeming almost awestruck.

"Never been here before?" you ask your friend.

"Only once," she confesses, coming out of her wondrous state of mind. "It still astounds me how many different kinds of music Earth has to offer, and how often new songs and forms are created."

That makes sense. Starfire's not from Earth, so she takes a lot more interest in a lot of what most humans take for granted. But, there's more to it than that. She finds these sorts of things wonderful, not simply interesting. She's the same way with many people, come to think of it. Her genuine, innocent curiosity and wonder is actually very endearing, and you count yourself lucky to have her as a friend.

While Starfire goes to look through the music, seeming to wander pretty much aimlessly, you find yourself inexplicably drawn to a certain section of the store. Progressive Rock, for reasons you can't really figure out, you feel like this is the area you should be searching for music. One particular group catches your attention rather quickly.

King Crimson.

For some reason, this seems really familiar to you, and you can't help but wonder if your decision to call yourself "Kid Crimson" was somehow inspired by this. You take the CD to a listening station nearby, put on some headphones, and let it play

Again, this sense of familiarity is impossible to shake, and you can almost remember sitting and listening to it with your....you can't remember. But, you're pretty confident that this band is one you listened to pretty often.

Starfire eventually wanders over to you, a curious expression on her face. You guess that you may be looking or acting a bit strange right now, but she doesn't mention that.

Instead, she asks. "May I listen?"

You remove your headphones and hand them to her. She places them on her head and listens. She seems at first uncertain what to make of it, but gradually seems to be enjoying it more and more, closing her eyes and nodding along to it by the end.

She removes the headphones, and looks at the CD the two of you had just listened to.

"King Crimson," she reads aloud, then looking at you quizzically. "Did you name yourself after them?"

"I think I might have without knowing," you admit. "They seem familiar."

"Do you plan to purchase this?" Starfire asks, handing the CD back to you.

"Yeah, I think so," you tell her.

So, you do end up deciding to buy the CD, as well as a radio for your room. Starfire buys several CDs of different genres, and Beast Boy comes up with some kind of boxed collection of Clash of the Planets CDs. The three of you go up to the register, pay for your purchases, and then exit together. Each of you are given a monthly stipend as members of the team. There's a budget for food, equipment, maintenance, and pretty much any purchases meant for the entire team. With that taken care of, you can pretty much use your stipend for whatever you want. It's not a crazy amount of money, but enough where you can afford to treat yourselves when you find something you want.

You're feeling pretty happy as the three of you walk down the sidewalk, but then, as you pass an alleyway, you hear a sound that makes you pause. Beast Boy and Starfire hear it, too, and the three of you look down the alleyway. You can make out some kind of beeping, and see a small, flashing light on the ground.

"Does that sound like one of our communicators?" Beast Boy questions.

"Are any of the honorary Titans supposed to be in town?" Starfire asks over your shoulder.

"No," Robin answers.

"Could it be Terra's?" Beast Boy suggests.

"I doubt she would still have it, Beast Boy," Raven tells him. "You said yourself that she wants to forget that part of her life."

Beast Boy sighs. "Yeah, you're right."

"It's probably a trap," Robin warns. "Get out of there as quickly as possible. We're on our way."

The call ends, and the beeping stops shortly after. The three of you quickly move away from the alleyway, and soon spot the T-Car rolling up, and the R-Cycle not far behind. With the team all assembled, you return to the alleyway, but find no signs of anybody or anything being there.

Robin kneels and searches the area you saw the light coming from, finding nothing and shaking his head as he stands up.

"Whatever was here, it's gone now," Robin tells you. "Come on, we should all head back to the Tower, just to be safe."

"Alright," you agree.

Everyone begins to head for their vehicles, but you hang back just a bit, grabbing Beast Boy's shoulder and having him wait for a moment so you can ask him a simple question.

"Who is Terra?"

Beast Boy's eyes speak volumes on their own; the sadness and regret you can see in them making you want to give the guy a hug. You're actually about to apologize for upsetting him when he answers your question.

"Terra was...is...well, it's a long story," Beast Boy tells you. "When we met Terra, she was a girl on the run, travelling the world, fighting monsters and criminals, but never staying in one place for long. We all liked her, me especially, and we talked about offering her a place on the team. But Terra had a secret. I found out by accident that she couldn't control her powers. She didn't want anyone else on the team to know, and made me promise that I wouldn't tell anybody."

He sighs wistfully. "Well, Robin found out on his own, but Terra thought I'd told him. She ran away, and ran into a man called Slade. He offered her a deal; he'd teach her to control her powers if she helped him destroy us. She came back with her powers under control, and we took her as a member of the team. She helped us fight crooks, spent time with us, made us all believe she was our friend. I guess she was, in a way. When it was time for her to betray us, she almost ran away and took me with her. But then, when I found out her secret, I said something stupid, and she left again with Slade."

"Hey, are you guys coming or what?" Cyborg shouts from the T-Car.

"You can tell me the rest later," you say to your friend, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. He's opened up to you, you appreciate that, and you want him to know that you appreciate his trust.

Beast Boy manages a nod. "Yeah, good idea."

The two of you head for the T-Car, taking seats in the back. Raven looks at the two of you in the rear view mirror, and you get the feeling she knows something's up, but she doesn't pry. You can't tell with Cyborg, but if he knows something, he doesn't say it.

The ride home is quiet, and when the car's parked in the tower, Beast Boy heads right up to the living room, turns on the game system, and starts drowning himself in games. Robin looks like he's about to comment, but his communicator beeps, and he seems to forget about it altogether.

"I've got to get to the training room," he says, rushing in that direction.

Starfire has a knowing look on her face, but doesn't say anything.

Raven goes to make herself some tea, and Cyborg sits down to join Beast Boy for video games.

"What's Robin doing?" you ask Starfire as your leader disappears through the door.

"He has gone to train with a friend," Starfire explains. "A training partner that visits us on occasion."

Deciding to let Robin have his fun for now, and not wanting to bother any of the others, you leave the living room and return to your own room, setting up your radio and putting in the CD. For whatever reason, you want to try meditation while listening to the CD. Maybe your familiarity with it will allow you to achieve a serene state of mind more easily, or better focus on certain things. Maybe, if you try digging into your memories again, listening to something from your past life will help you to remember more clearly.

It's worth a try, you suppose.

With Crimson King playing on the radio, you climb into bed, assume the lotus position, and decide which method of meditation to attempt.

>A. Method 1: Attempt to empty your mind of thought and allow it to achieve a state of rest

>B. Method 2: Focus on a particular thought, problem, question, or moment while banishing all other thoughts (specify what you want to focus on)

Method three might be your best bet, so as you settle in and repeat the mantra shared between you and two other Titans, you simply let the thoughts come, they slowly float in front of you, each one within reach for you to take and focus on. Different subjects, from hopes and fears to memories are all present, and the options provided to you seem limitless.

You decide to focus on your friends, the people that have made your new life a happy one.

Robin, a leader who's always been ready to help you, whether in finding out about yourself or improving as a fighter. He's helped you to grow, and been a good friend on top of it. Being leader hasn't kept him from being a fun guy. He took part in that ill-fated eating contest, joined in on video game brawls, and, of course, was involved in the initiation for new teammates.

Raven. She's helped you more than just about anybody since you got here, whether it's been getting your powers back under control, helping you figure out how they work, helping you learn meditation, or just being someone to talk to at times. She may be the least social of the group, but that doesn't make her any less of a good friend.

Cyborg. He's a man who's always ready to do something fun, cool, or crazy. The guy builds super cars, has super strength, can fire from a cannon in his arm, and out-eat anyone on the team. Plus, his burgers are delicious. He's also good to everyone, always does his best to support the team when he can. He's a good guy, and you're glad to know him.

Starfire. You don't know that you've ever met a nicer person. It's hard not to smile when she's happy, and hard not to frown when she's sad. Her interest in everything and everyone around her, and the kindness she shows everyone she meets is just wonderful, and you're glad to know her.

Beast Boy. He's kind of a goofball, and not the brightest of the bunch, but he's still a super nice guy who always tries to lighten the mood, is always up to do something fun, and always willing to bring others in on it. And, you really appreciate that he's been willing to open up to you. You see that as a sign of trust and friendship.

These people, who until recently you hadn't even met before, have given you a home, have helped you better yourself, have taken you in as part of their team, have treated you as a true friend, and given your life true joy.

You open your eyes, feeling wonderful, only to freak out as you realize you're not in your bed anymore. Your surge of fear causes you to put up a large forcefield that you think extends even beyond your room, and you fall back down to your bed, which shakes under the sudden impact.

There's got to be a way to recreate what you just did. You were feeling joy when you finished your meditation, so if you bring back those memories...

Slowly, you lift off the bed once again, hovering above it as you feel excitement rush through you. You're flying! Wow, this is-oww!

You hit your head on the ceiling, drop back onto your bed, and groan. Okay, going to need to learn some control there. But still, you can fly! Or, at least float. That's pretty awesome, right? But what's not awesome is that your head's hurting, and seeming to get worse rather than better. In fact, it's not even an ache, it's stinging, really stringing, and your whole body's feeling weird, then it almost seizes up, and you fall from the bed, writhing on the floor, your head pains becoming worse and worse. You scream, and your radio is hurled across the room, the mirror on your dresser shatters, your bed rocks, and your alarm clock joins your radio. Another scream, and a massive barrier forms around you. You begin to lift off the ground again, striking the ceiling before dropping back to the floor and losing consciousness.

When your eyes open, you're lying in the medical wing, hooked up to some machines you don't really recognize, and feeling absolutely horrible.

"Rise and shine, sleepy-head," the last voice you want to hear right now mocks.

Brother Blood steps into view, a patronizing smile on his face. "You've been a busy boy, haven't you, Peter? Unlocking powers left and right, pushing yourself to your limits, I should have expected nothing less. A pity you lacked my guidance, I could have warned you of the dangers unlocking so many powers so quickly would present. But, some students just don't want to learn, so they can deal with the consequences of their ignorance."

Ignoring him worked well enough last time, so you decide to just go with that and refuse to acknowledge his presence until one of the others arrives. You don't look at him, don't give any indication that you heard him, you just pretend he doesn't exist.

"Come now, Peter, I just want to talk," Blood insists, walking to one of the bedside chairs and sitting down. "Besides...."

His human eye glows, and his voice takes on a much more venomous tone. "You are in no state to defy me right now, Peter!"

Horrific pain shoots through your head, and you begin to thrash about on the bed as the pain seems to spread throughout your body, every inch of you feeling as if a million volts is coursing through it, and every second seeming to last forever. You try to scream, but your mouth shuts itself as soon as it opens, heavily muffling you.

Finally, it stops, and Blood folds his arms on his lap, smirking devilishly.

"Now, do I have your attention, Peter?" he asks. "I'd hate to have to punish you again."

You look at him.

"Good, we're making progress," Blood jokes, standing back up and coming to stand at the bedside. "Now, Peter, I don't want for us to be enemies. That was never my intent. All of this is just a mistake. And it's a mistake I can easily correct."

He leans closer. "I can restore your memories, Peter, give you back your old life, let you be the person you once were. You can still have the glorious destiny we prepared you for, you can reunite with your friends."

He smiles. "And your family."

His eye glows again, and for a few, horribly frustrating moments, all of your memories seem to be right there, tantalizingly out of reach. You know these things, you know you know them, it should be so obvious, you should remember that-

And in a flash, it's gone.

"Peter, I was quite proud of you, you know," Blood admits, circling the bed. "Everyone was. You were truly gifted, and your future was so bright. Now, though, you stand at the final crossroads of your path. You can either join with me, and I will restore what you have lost, or you can continue to defy me, and I can end your life right here and now."

That's quite the ultimatum. And after coming so close to having your memories restored, it's agonizing to have them ripped away once again. Right now, you want nothing more than to remember what you've lost, where you came from, who you are. He's offering it to you on a silver platter, and the alternative is death. Still, if you agree to serve him without even knowing what he plans to do...you don't know if you can rightly do that. Promising to dedicate yourself blindly to someone who has threatened your life and now is holding a gun to your head does not sit right with you, nor does giving in to this jerk. He's another psychic who's trying to dominate your mind and body, and force you to submit to his will. A competitor like you does not appreciate that.

Still, what choice do you have?

"Restore my memories first," you tell him. "Then let me decide."

Blood chuckles, moving back a bit. "A reasonable request, but I'm afraid I'm not going to negotiate any further."

His eye glows, and once again you feel that horrific pain wrack your body and brain. Once again, you can't even scream, and the agony is unbearable. It's almost enough to make you give in, but you hesitate when Cyborg and Robin step into the room, each of them looking at you with horrified expressions.

Blood slinks back, but the pain does not subside. Robin and Cyborg rush to the machines, saying something that you can't hear. Cyborg rushes out of the room, returning but a moment later with a syringe. Before you even register that he's injected you with something, you lose consciousness once again.

Darkness surrounds you, stretching as endlessly as space itself. You can't really see where you are, but you can feel something solid beneath you, so that's something.

A light shines from above, illuminating the area, and you see that you're on a large, circular platform, and you're not alone.

Brother Blood smirks at you from the platform's other side, beginning to casually stroll toward you.

"Alone at last, Peter," he tells you with a laugh, looking up at the sky and shaking his head. "Not a lot going on in the ol' noggin, is there?"

"Wait, we're in my head?" you ask, thrusting your hands toward Blood and creating a barrier between the two of you.

As you focus, it stretches out to divide the platform in half, creating a perfect wall between both you and Blood, who takes a moment to examine your handiwork, seeming slightly impressed, but only for a moment.

"Yes, that's right," he confirms, gently tapping the barrier. "Normally, I'd never be able to venture this far into your head from so great a distance. But with how much you've strained your mind...."

He knocks on the barrier, which shatters like glass.

"I can do as I please."

As always, feedback is welcome and encouraged, and I will be lurking to see what you all have to say.

I hope you all had fun

Nice. Enjoyed myself as always.

When is the next game planned for?

Cool.

What's the typical time you plan to run? I ended up missing the first few votes due to how early it started.

Usually around 6 Eastern, but I had some extra time today so I started early.

>>A. Your past. Who were you before the surgery gave you these powers?

I just noticed this. Had we previously been given any indication that the surgery was responsible for our powers? My impression was that gaining our powers were unrelated and happened before the accident.
>>
>>2214642
I thought I'd implied it, but maybe I misremembered
>>
>>2214645
So worst case scenario, it wasn't a spoiler.

Oh also, today I really enjoyed this line:

"Alone at last, Peter," he tells you with a laugh, looking up at the sky and shaking his head. "Not a lot going on in the ol' noggin, is there?"

The sudden shift between formal to casual rings true to cartoon Blood, who balanced menacing and goofy well. Man, if that guy could just curb his megalomaniac tendencies he'd be just a really fascinating and entertaining dude.
>>
Thoughts about the next section: Blood has let slip quite a few details. Firstly that trying to unlock new powers quickly increases our strain considerably (and making our powers uncontrollable to an extent), that strain I'm turn makes us more vulnerable to his influence, and that he is communicating with us from a distance, as opposed to being a psychic imprint or other alternate explanation.

Given how easily our shield was blown away, our powers might be useless, or worse, further increase strain and make us even more vulnerable. It might be better to rely on unarmed fighting, or see if we can use non-powered mental techniques (Breathing exercises, meditation, etc) to reduce strain and thus diminish his influence.

This is all conjecture, there's not enough to home in on a correct conclusion. The answer could just as well be to unlock the power of Hope and wait it out until the Titans ride to our rescue. The answer could be that in our minds cape using our powers doesn't cause strain because we're not really using the them.

Thoughts on our approach?
>>
Also, just noticed, our power might not be based on the emotional light spectrum, but instead, Metal Gear Solid villains. We still need to collect The Pain and The End.
>>
>>2214993
I'm gonna wait to see what happens next and what our options are before I worry too much about it, but I'm thinking to try and keep Blood talking for as long as possible. Maybe Peter will be able to use breathing exercises without focusing 100% on them, I'm not sure how they work.

I feel like fighting won't work and may even contribute to Peter's mental strain. I also feel like Blood is unlikely to let Peter meditate or otherwise focus entirely on calming down. Without a clear path to victory against a superior opponent, all you can really do is try to drag things out for as long as possible and hope an opportunity comes.
>>
>>2215211
Not worried so much as engaged and with time to kill at work. Sounds like we have the same train of thought though.

Narratively, when there isn't enough information to make an informed decision, it makes sense to make a reasonable decision (any reasonable decision, really) and adjust if new information suggests you should.
>>
I like this, good job QM.
You've found a neat way to keep anons from power gaming and choosing emotions and power meditation all the time
>>
>>2215305
We are potentially overpowered, due to the breadth of our powers, but thus far the magnitude of our powers, particularly at the controlled level, is fairly low, and I'm okay with that. I suspect we could develop into a wizard-style character with more firepower like Raven, but I really like the Kung Fu wizard route: lower power, but well-integrated and with a solid basis in skill, insulating us from the close ranged and high speed vulnerabilities of a wizard.

As your barrier crumbles to pieces, Blood continues to leisurely stroll toward you, whistling to himself as he takes each step. You don't know what his deal is right now. A minute ago, he was screaming at you and torturing your mind, but now he just looks like he's taking a pleasant walk through the park, occasionally gazing at the crumbling pieces of barrier, but mostly just absentmindedly walking toward you.

Whether you choose to admit it or not, you're scared. Blood held your life in his hands moments ago when you were awake, and even in your unconscious state he's strutting through your mind like he owns the place. With how easily he took down your attempts at a defense, you wonder if perhaps he really does own it.

Blood dusts himself off, coming to a stop and looking around the platform the two of you currently occupy. "I'm guessing you don't entertain very often. Well, thank you for making me the exception, even if I did have to let myself in."

"Why do I even matter to you?" you ask Blood, partly out of desperation to stall for time, and partly because this question has been bugging you ever since you woke that day.

"Peter, Peter, Peter...." Blood chides as he shakes his head. "Someone hasn't been paying attention. I told you, you were meant to help me change the world. You have a great destiny to fulfill. You were groomed for quite some time, trained by the best the HIVE had to offer, and given an honor most would have killed for. Now, you've betrayed your friends, family, and allies to play hero with a bunch of costumed children."

He's not advancing on you, nor is he making any aggressive moves at the moment, so you certainly consider that an improvement. You just hope it lasts. In the real world, you never stood a chance against Blood, and if your mind is in as bad a condition as the madman claims, you might have even less of a chance in here.

"The Teen Titans are supposed to be your enemies, Peter," Blood tells you, frustrated. "You were supposed to help bring about their destruction. And now, you call them allies, and friends. I'll let you in on a little secret, Peter. The Titans are doomed. If you choose to stand with those brats, you will meet an even worse fate than what awaits them!"

>>A. "What's this destiny you keep talking about? I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing!"

>>C. "Wait, you mentioned my family. What about them?"

"Did I even have friends in the HIVE?" you ask, your desire to stall giving more ground to true curiosity. "You guys don't seem like the friendliest bunch."

Blood looks amused. "We can be quite chummy with our own, Peter. And yes, you did have friends. In fact, you were as thick as thieves. Some of them were even given the same honor as you, Peter. Needless to say, they're shocked, hurt, and disappointed by your decision to abandon us."

"What's this destiny you keep talking about?" you ask in frustration. "I don't even know what I'm supposed to be doing!"

"It's as I said, Peter," Blood speaks slowly, as if speaking to a particularly dull child. "You were going to help me change the world. Destroying the Titans would be part of it, but not the end. You were to be given even greater gifts, powers and knowledge beyond imagination, if only you'd remained loyal."

Swallowing your frustration at not being given a clear answer, you ask Blood another question, though you aren't sure you're going to like any answer he gives, whether it's true or not.

"You mentioned my family," you remind him. "What about them?"

Blood smiles. "Let's just say that your bloodline has more than one member present within the HIVE. Your family is-mostly alive, and those that remain miss you terribly. I could take you back to them, you know. I'll let you reunite with your family and friends, do some catching up, and then we can put all of this behind us."

If Brother blood can't name at least 5 King Crimson songs there's no way he's ever spent any time with Peter before!

>>
>>2216450
"Why are you going to so much trouble to bring me back?" you ask him, hoping some miracle occurs sooner rather than later. "If there are others like me, I can't be completely irreplaceable."

Blood looks at you like that was the first intelligent thing you've said all day. You don't know whether to consider that a good thing or a bad thing.

"True, you can be replaced, but not easily," Blood answers, and for once you're almost positive he's telling the truth. "It took time and effort to shape you into someone worthy of the destiny you've been offered. It will take time and effort to prepare another to take your place."

If there are others like you, but you still need to be replaced, you wonder just how many like you there are, and what Blood needs so many for. What is this "great destiny" he keeps ranting about? It doesn't seem like you're going to get a straight answer.

"Still," Blood continues, his eye glowing dangerously.

Pain shoots through you, and you fall to your knees, then the floor as he begins to approach you once again. His pace is slow but deliberate as he makes his way toward your prostrated form.

"If I must go through the effort of replacing you, then that's what I'll do," he explains as he stands over you. "And I will make sure that you suffer for making me go to that kind of trouble."

You feel something move through you, but it's not pain. Just the opposite, in fact. It's some sort of warmth that makes the pain fade away, and gives you a sense of returning strength. You aren't sure where it's coming from, or if it will be enough to stop Blood, but it's clearly preferable to the sensations you had seconds ago.

"Now, Peter, this is your last chance," Blood assures you, raising his left hand, and psychically pulling you off the ground.

Your feet dangle just above the surface of the platform, and it feels as it you're being choked, despite not having a true physical form at the moment.

"Now, I'll make this a simple choice," he tells you, showing off the claws on his metallic right hand. "Join me or die."

You can feel more of that healing energy coursing through you, but you still doubt it will be enough to stop Blood.

"How about neither?" you ask, surprising Blood with a kick to the face.

Had he known it was coming, the kick would have never connected, but he truly was not expecting you to even be able to fight back, much less to try and do so without your powers. You're pleased to see that the kick knocks him to the ground. His hold on you released, you drop to the platform's surface, that choking sensation gone, and your feelings of strength growing greater by the second.

Your power is returning, and this is your mind. Blood said himself that he wouldn't have been able to manage something had you not been so badly weakened. Now, it looks like you're back in control, and Blood realizes it. He stares daggers at you, picking himself off the ground and slowly beginning to back away.

"You've made your choice," he declares as he nears the edge of the platform. "I'll be in touch."

With Blood gone, you're left alone in your mind, but only briefly. Very soon, you're roused to consciousness, sitting up in bed in the medical wing to find Cyborg holding smelling salts under your nose. Raven sits in one of the nearby chairs, sweating, breathing heavily, and just looking exhausted. Beast Boy is standing a bit further away, looking relieved to see you up.

"Peter!" Starfire shouts, flying right up to your side. "I am overjoyed to see you well once again. We were most worried for you."

"Someone should call Robin and tell him he's up," Raven says to the others from her spot on the chairs.

"I'll do it," Beast Boy volunteers, taking out his communicator and stepping out of the room.

Blood's already won. When we spiral out of control and end up killing him in our own power mad scheme, will he be proud or bitter?
>>
>>2216819
We wont be supervillains once the whole world is under one mind. Who's to say what is evil and what is good if they're all under the consensus of one? It's a plan in the working though, so it'll be on the backburner for the moment.

>>2216822
I'm pretty sure that's what Blood did to have us. Maybe not him fucking per se, but definitely some fuckery going on.
>>
>>2216826
Depends on how we do it. If we spaz our way into world domination, he'll be bitter.

"Blood was in my mind..." you tell the others. "He almost killed me."

"We know," Cyborg says grimly. "We honestly weren't sure you'd survive."

Well, that's a comforting thought.

"I felt like something was healing me when I fought Blood," you continue, looking around at your friends. "Did you guys do something?"

"Raven did," Beast Boy tells you, smiling over at the girl. "She was able to heal you enough to fight back against Blood."

"Then I woke you with smelling salts," Cyborg adds. "We thought that, if you woke up,you might be able to force Blood back out, but it looks like you managed that while you were still asleep."

So, you owe them once again.

"Sorry for worrying you guys," you tell them.

"Do not apologize," Starfire instructs. "You are our friend. It is only natural that we worry for you. That is what friends do."

"Yeah, besides, if one of us was in trouble, you'd do whatever you could to help, right?" Cyborg asks.

You nod.

Raven stands up. "I need to get some rest. That whole experience took a lot out of me. I'll see you guys later."

Raven leaves the room, with the others calling goodbyes after her. Not long after Raven leaves, Robin shows up, stopping at the door and talking to an unseen person, assuring them that he'll be right out.

"Hey," he greets. "Glad to see you're okay."

Okay might be overselling it, but you're honestly just glad to have Blood out of your head for now. And, also being alive is kind of nice. So is being conscious and not in total agony...okay, maybe "okay" isn't such a bad description.

"What happened?" Robin asks, standing beside Starfire.

"Blood got into his head," Starfire explains for you.

"But how?" Robin asks.

>>A. "He said it was because I strained my mind too much. I pushed it until it couldn't take anymore, and that made it weak enough for him to force himself in."

"He said it was because I strained my mind too much," you explain. "I pushed it until it couldn't take anymore, and it became weak enough for him to force himself in. He's been broadcasting at a distance, using his powers to communicate with me."

"That's a new one," Cyborg remarks, sounding a lot more bitter than skeptical. "He keeps finding creative ways to be a royal pain in the-"

"Were you able to find out anything else?" Robin interrupts.

"He said that I have family and friends that are part of the HIVE, and that one of the things I was supposed to do for them was help destroy you," you admit. "He also said there are others like me."

"So you were probably meant to be part of some special team Blood was going to send against us," Robin sums up.

"I'll bet Blood's regretting that plan now," Beast Boy remarks.

Cyborg smiles at that.

"Can I get out of bed and get something to eat?" you request.

"If you're feeling up to it," Robin responds, helping you get out of bed.

The five of you leave the medical wing, finding a girl with long, white hair, grey armor, and what looks to be quite a few weapons waiting, leaning against a wall. Since the other Titans don't seem worried, you take it she's the sparring partner the others talked about.

"So, crisis averted?" she asks nobody in particular.

"For now," Robin answers, stopping to talk to her. "But this isn't over. Not by a long shot."

The girl nods in understanding. "From what I've heard, Blood's persistent, not to mention vengeful. The only way you've seen the last of him is if he winds up dead before he has the chance to try something again."

"If only we could be so lucky," Cyborg grumbles.

The girl looks at you, and it feels almost as if she's sizing you up and mentally planning how best to take you down in a fight. It's not very comforting.

"You're the new Titan, then?" she asks.

The girl smiles, shaking your hand. "Ravager, but you can call me Rose."

Rose shrugs. "If there was one positive about trying to follow in my father's footsteps, it's that I learned to fight almost as well as him."

"Nice meeting you," you say to Rose. "Hey, what do you guys say we talk over lunch?"

"Sounds good to me," Cyborg agrees. "All this stress has got me starving."

"I could eat," Rose agrees.

"Alright, I'll make tofu dogs for everybody that wants them!" Beast Boy declares.

"So, just you then?" Cyborg asks.

Beast Boy nods, not seeming insulted. "Yep, plenty for me."

Everyone walks together to the living room, and as you make your way there, you take a minute to size up Rose like she did to you. She's got the figure of somebody who works out quite a lot, and you can see a multitude of weapons on her person, from katanas, to throwing stars, to daggers and throwing knives. She carries herself in such a way that you have the feeling she's ready for a fight at a moment's notice. It's not hard to believe Robin's claim that she's a great fighter; she certainly looks the part.

Soon, everyone's gathered around the table while Cyborg serves up hot dogs, and two huge bags of potato chips. There's ketchup, mustard (with plenty extra for Starfire), relish, and plenty to drink. It's not a healthy or fancy lunch, but it's nice and filling.

"So, are there a lot of honorary Titans?" you ask after scarfing down your first hot dog.

"Mhmm," Robin nods as he takes a bite out of his. "All over the world, and we get new members pretty often these days."

"We should really stop calling them "honorary" Titans," Cyborg comments. "They fight crime just as often as we do, some of them have formed teams, and they all keep in touch with us."

"Yeah, but we're the original Titans," Beast Boy points out, grabbing a potato chip.

"Peter only recently joined us," Starfire points out. "Does that make him an "honorary" Titan, Beast Boy?"

Beast Boy looks at you nervously, though that stops when he realizes you're not about to go off on him or anything.

"No," he says.

"Eh, we can worry about titles later," Cyborg declares, eating his third hot dog.

"Hey, Rose?" you say to the white-haired girl, who's sitting diagonal from you.

"Yes?" she asks, looking your way.

"You mentioned your father being a great fighter," you remind her. "Who is he?"

The table goes quiet, and Robin looks like he's about to say something along the lines of "maybe this isn't the best topic", but Rose answers, albeit not sounding thrilled about it.

"Slade Wilson," she tells you. "Ex-military turned super villain that's given this city plenty of trouble. When I was younger, I tried to follow in his footsteps. I emulated him and tried to be just like him."

She allows herself a smile. "But, then the Titans made me realize I didn't have to be like him. So, I changed my ways and fight for the good guys now."

Slade. You keep hearing that name from just about everybody. Sounds like he was some serious bad news, maybe even up there with the likes of Brother Blood.

Rose. We've got plenty of chances to spar with the regulars, but this is a rare chance. And besides, since we now know trying to master our psychic abilities too fast leaves us vulnerable to Blood, we have all the more reason to start in on the "Kung Fu" half of being a Kung Fu Wizard.

"Trust me, I know what it's like to come from a bad background," you tell Rose. "Glad you're with the good guys."

Rose seems to appreciate that. "Thanks. Glad you wound up on the right side, too."

"Hey, would you mind sparring with me sometime?" you ask her.

"Uh, dude..." Beast Boy starts warning you.

"Sure," Rose tells you. "But only when you don't look like you ran a marathon in your sleep."

When you're finished eating, you decide to bring Raven some tea and a light snack. She seemed exhausted, and a little fuel might do her some good right now. Plus, you think you should do at least something small for her after all she's done for you. You make some tea (Starfire's able to direct you in preparing the kind Raven likes), and grab something light for your friend to eat (you settle on some crackers and peanut butter). Then, you put it on a small tray and take it out of the living room, carrying it to Raven's door, and giving a knock with your psychic powers (convenient when your hands are full).

The door slides partway open, and the one eye of Raven's that you can see looks down to the tray.

"Tea, crackers, and peanut butter," you answer, earning an eye roll. "You missed lunch, so I thought you might be hungry."

Raven's door opens the rest of the way, and she looks down at the tray, seeming surprised for some reason, like, really surprised. You guess she's not used to people bringing her things. Or maybe she's surprised that you came to give her something instead of asking her for help with something.

"Thank you," she says, reaching out and taking the tray from you, a smile coming to her face for a moment.

She looks back up. "No offense, but you don't look so good. You should probably get some rest. My magic was only able to do so much, especially with Blood in your head."

She lets out a tired sigh. "I'm going to go get some rest myself. Thank you for the tea and crackers."

She turns around and walks back into her room, the door shutting behind her. You take a moment to decide what to do next.

Both Rose and Raven have told you that you're looking pretty bad right now. That seems a good indicator that you should go and get some sleep. Tomorrow's another day, and once you're refreshed, you'll be able to face it much better. Then again, it's only lunch time, so after a nap, you should be able to do some stuff today.

First thing's first. You go to to your room, climb under the covers, and fall asleep right away.

Also, behind the scenes question: Did you have this particular encounter with Blood in mind in advance? Was it meant to be triggered around now or was it totally dependent on when we tried to acquire too many powers?
>>
>>2217656
Beast Boy is straight. He thinks you're a pretty cool guy.

Cyborg likes you, and definitely sympathizes with your struggles against Blood.

Starfire thinks you are a wonderful new friend, and likes that you appreciated her cooking that first night

Robin thinks you're a good person, but he worries about you quite a bit. He also respects how much you put into your training

Considering it's comics, that's actually viable.
>>
>>2218333
As >>2218345 says, that's not out of the question, but it really depends on the tone of the story. I'm not really getting an 'everyone is horny on main' kind of vibe in this game. Compare to Manthor's TT game in which first thread, Adam gets his dick complimented by Harley.

I say fuck everything. I mean that weird larva pet starfire has is pretty hot
>>
>>2218351
Then there's always the [UNKNOWN] route of dating some random girl.

Like what happens with a lot of super heroes.
>>
>>2218358
Possibly.

Raven and Starfire are the only two true competitors for the Peterbowl right now, on the basis that they've known him the longest and have positive relationships with Pete. I'd be equally satisfied with either of them winning, though Starfire would be the more novel option. Unfortunately she's currently with Robin, and even if that changed, it'd take quite some time for Peter/Starfire to not be a dick (hah) move.

Peter simply doesn't know Jinx and Rose well enough at the moment for them to be serious competitors. If they first develop good chemistry with Pete, sure. Same goes for any other girls that show up.

I just want it not to be a shit show, and so I hope we take it slow and just let whatever route feels natural unfold.

At least until we get to the very end of the quest, unlock [Regret] powers and New Game+ a different route.

Hey anon, if we meet her and have good chemistry, don't rush it, and aren't in another relationship at the time... sure, why not? Supergirl isn't even in my top five, but if those conditions are met I pledge to support it and defend it from those who would tear it down in the name of 'not-my-waifu'.

I know that might seem like a narrow path, but the best way to avoid the most acrimonious aspects of the waifu wars is to agree that the good of the game is more important.

It's amazing how much good a simple nap can do for you. When you wake up a few hours after lying down, you feel like a whole new person. The pains in your head are gone, you no longer look like someone punched you in both eyes, and you don't feel exhausted by the mere act of standing. You still aren't feeling perfect, but it's one major improvement, to be sure.

Getting up and doing what you can to make yourself look presentable, you notice that the mess you made of your room before seems to have been mostly cleaned and fixed. You'll have to thank the others for that. Speaking of, you wonder what they're up to. It's about four in the evening, so dinner will probably be in an hour or so. That should give you time to manage at least one activity.

Nothing major. I rewatched it a few months back. I would suppose the most common criticism is its attempt to be animesque at a time when Anime was really catching on the US. Its hardly a deal breaker, but it does feel obvious at times. For another is that the pacing and story telling style while fine, feel slow compared to more modern cartoons, particularly ones that pack things into 15 minutes instead of 30.

A little bit of exercise might be just what you need right now. So, leaving your room and stepping out into the hall, you start heading for the training room. You don't pass anybody on the way there, but as you get closer to your destination, you start hearing sounds. Grunts, the sounds of something clashing together, it sounds like there's a fight going on. This prompts you to pick up the pace and you arrive to find that a fight is indeed happening.

Robin and Rose stand in the sparring area of the room. Okay, they're not really stand still for more than a second or two at a time, but they're in that area, and fighting hard.

They're both armed with metal staves, which clash together as they attack, block, counter, and repeat with their weapons. Beyond that, they make use of basic combat and, from what you can tell, gadgets. What you find most interesting is that Rose actually seems to be overwhelming Robin. Her attack style is vicious and unrelenting, and Robin's having quite the difficult time defending against it. It's odd to see Robin struggle so much.

Rose swings her staff down at Robin's head, but he brings his up to block it. That doesn't do him much good, as Rose kicks him in the chest right after, pushing him back and swinging at his head. Robin ducks and jumps, kicking her in the jaw and back-flipping to gain distance. Rose responds by pulling out throwing starts and hurling them at Robin, who spins his staff like a propeller in front of his body to stop them. This gives Rose time to get in close, and she jumps at him, throwing a kick at his head. Robin brings up his staff, stopping her foot, and Rose springs off it, flipping and landing in a crouch. As she rises up, Robin throws a birdarang at her. Rose simply turns her body and lets it pass her, but then looks back to see it circling around and coming back at her.

She dashes right at Robin, seeming to take the obvious route of getting Robin's own heat-seeking weapon to hit him instead. Planting one side of her staff on the ground, she vaults right over Robin's head, causing the birdarang to fly right at his face. Robin throws a disk at it, and the resulting blast knocks him right off his feet into the arms of rose, who hooks her arms under his pits and performs a suplex on him.

You weren't expecting this, but you decide to stick around and see what happens. There's one thing, though. You can't resist speaking up about the rather intense competition the two crime-fighters seem to be having.

"You guys are just sparring, right?" you joke.

Robin drops smoke pellets onto the ground, then shoots his grappling hook up to the ceiling, finding a place for it to hook on to, and using it to lift himself up. A throwing star shoots out of the smoke, slicing through the rope pulling Robin up, and sending him into a fall. Rose leaps from the smoke at Robin, who spins and kicks her in the cheek, knocking her to the ground before landing on his feet.

"Yeah, don't worry," Robin tells you, his eyes not leaving Rose, who rubs her cheek and picks up her staff.

Robin readies his staff, and the two of them charge at one another, swinging their weapons at one another. The staves clash as the two pass each-other, which the tip of each breaking after a few seconds. Robin and Rose look at their weapons, then laugh, turning toward one another and shaking hands.

"Good fight, as always," Robin tells her with a smile.

"You too," Rose replies. "Really, though, you're just lucky I didn't go all out."

"I was about to say the same thing to you," Robin jabs playfully.

The two walk out of the sparring area, approaching you. Relief washes over Robin's face, so you're guessing you look much, much better than the last time he saw you.

"Well, looks like somebody took a nap," Rose comments. "Think you're in good enough shape to spar?"

"I wouldn't stand a chance against you," you admit to Rose.

"Not standing a chance never stops you from sparring against me," Robin jokes.

"I wasn't finished," you inform your leader before looking back to Rose. "I wouldn't stand a chance against you, but it sounds fun."

Rose smiles at that. "Alright, then. I'll go easier on you than I did on bird-brain over there. Unless you're an even bigger masochist than you seem like."

You aren't completely sure if she's joking with you or not. She steps back into the ring, and you follow along, moving to stand across from her. Robin sticks around, either as a referee or because he wants to see how badly Rose puts you through the ringer. Either way, you at least trust him to stop her from causing you permanent damage.

You've seen Rose fight. She's relentless, and quick to adapt to her enemies. If you want to last more than three seconds in this match, you're going to have to use your head.

Not wanting to reveal your powers just yet, and not trusting the outcome of rushing in blindly to be positive, you instead decide to start by fighting on the defensive. You feel some trepidation about this approach after seeing how this girl was able to break through Robin's attempts at defense, but ultimately decide that it's your best course of action right now.

Rose smirks as you take a defensive stance, not wasting any time in making her move. She dashes across the ring, leaping into the air and descending with a strong kick. You cross your arms in front of your body, managing to block the kick, but not managing to stop from being pushed back. Rose is on you again right away, and you find yourself giving ground far too quickly as you struggle to fend off or dodge her furious strikes. Rose soon lands a kick in your gut that causes your body to curl, and brings her knee right up into your jaw as you begin to hunch, knocking you onto your back.

Before you can sit up, or really even recover from the hit, Rose places her foot on your chest, pinning you to the ground. She smirks down at you, clearly enjoying this. She probably expects you to give up right now.

But, you're a competitive guy, you don't feel like giving up so easily.

Alright, you've got no choice. With a Psychic Shove, you're able to get the girl off of you and scramble back to your feet. You don't wait for her to make the next move, instead deciding to try your hand at attacking her.

Starting with a punch that she catches easily, you follow with a Psychic Punch to the face that takes her by surprise, and leaves an opening for you to kick her in the stomach, pushing her back. As she starts toward you again, you throw another Psychic Punch at her face, then rush in and throw a real one. Rose sidesteps, grabs your arm, and twists it behind your back. You quickly throw another punch at her face, and while it connects, she does not release you.

Okay, girl's tough, and you're in a bad position. You wonder if she's holding back as much as she said she would, or if she's just that good. Either way, you are not in a good position.

Time to switch things up a bit. You focus your mind on the proper emotion, and teleport. Your hope is to teleport into the air right above Rose, and do an axe kick as you fall. It goes anything but how you expected, though.

You do manage to teleport into the air, but when you look down, Rose is gone, and you can still feel your arm being twisted behind your back. She teleported with you. Luckily, the surprise of suddenly being up in the air does allow you to free your arm. However, she recovers from her shock quickly and kicks you in the back, causing you to be sprawled out on your stomach when you hit the ground.

You don't see Rose land, but when you start to push yourself back up, you feel something press between your shoulder blades, and are pushed back into the ground.

She'll be prepared for a shove since we already did that before. Might as well experiment with our barriers

>give up
Honestly not surprised with the direction of how the teleporting works

"I give up," you relent, not seeing any way to continue this fight without straining your mind past its limit or turning it into something serious.

Rose gets off your back, and you push yourself back up, feeling sore from the various hits she landed. She looks a bit marked up herself, but you aren't sure if that's from you or Robin.

"You had some nice tricks," she compliments. "But, you need practice."

"Well, I'd say he's had enough for one day," Robin comments, approaching the two of you. "What do you say we go have some dinner?"

Dinner passes pleasantly, with Cyborg making ribs, Robin making salad, Starfire making glorrk, and Beast Boy making various tofu-based products. The rest of the night is spent talking, playing video games, watching some TV. Finally, Rose says goodbye to everyone and departs, and one by one, you and the rest of your team go to sleep.

The next day has you feeling refreshed, though still a little sore from what happened with Rose. Looking out your window, you see that it's a bright, sunny day. You can already smell bacon and waffles from the kitchen, and you hope that Cyborg's made a enough for everybody. Your stomach is rumbling.

He has indeed prepared enough to go around, and after a pleasant breakfast, the team begins to split up and do their own things. Cyborg heads to the garage to work on the T-Car, Raven and Starfire go off to meditate, Robin and Beast Boy sit down to play videogames, and you...

>A. Ask Cyborg if you can help him in the garage

>B. Ask Raven and Starfire if you can join them

>C. Ask Robin and Beast Boy if you can join them

>D. Go for a walk around the island

>E. Go for a walk in the city

Haven't hung out with Cyborg in a while. Maybe we can drive the T-Car someday.

"Hey, Cyborg," you call to your friend. "Can I help you in the garage?"

Cyborg stops, and looks at you. He seems hesitant, though you aren't sure why. Ultimately, he seems to shake off whatever worries or doubts he was having, and nods at you.

"Sure, come on."

>To be continued

That's where we'll stop for tonight. I know it was brief, but I hope you all had fun.

It was manthor's old TT discord, it's pretty much dead now but I can post a link if people want to go diving in old posts. There were some pretty quality stuff deep in there.
