When last we left off...
>>Support David. (Charm +4)
>(8, 5) + 4 = 17 (Success)
You try to support David by bolstering his attack and shooting him a thumbs up. Remembering what he came here for, David focuses and shifts to Galahad to barrage the Enkidu armor with light.
"Even so, you don't have the right to ruin other people's lives just because your own memories were taken away."

"What do you know? You're just a naive little boy they built so they could indocrinate you early. They don't care about you," the slightly-whiny reply comes.

"Maybe you are right about the military, but I have parents, a brother, and friends. You were- are- my friend too."

Enkidu lunges for the knight. "You only got those friends because I was injured. And Walt doesn't trust anyone! Your so-called parents never told you any of this city's secrets!" Durandal's voice rings from the armor as he punches a hole in the ground, sending debris flying past Sofia. "You're a weapon, start acting like one!"

"Enough of this!" Carollo cries out. "You're not in good mental health, so we're going to have to make you see reason- even if it means tearing you out of that armor by hand!"

"Yeah!" Kenneth says. "I'm actually sorta hoping the General transforms like D'Artagnan, so I can knock you into next week and we can talk this out."

"Is this some sort of game to you?" the mechanical man hisses with a computerized undertone. "I'll tear you limb from limb!"

Deftly evading the attacks of your heavily armored foe, you distract him sufficiently enough to give Kenneth an opportunity to hit the android with a nuclear blast to the face, sending him into a rage. Even though Kenneth is the target of this attack, you manage to push your friend far enough out of the way so that the charge is wasted in a sprint past you.
Sofia takes the opportunity to heal you both slightly.

Turning around like a savage bull, Durandal is hit by David ramming him in turn. The younger android leads with his shield, but the massive inerta of the heavier fighter causes him to slow down, and he doesn't have enough time to make distance before the Enkidu armor grabs him and slams him into the ground. Thankfully, however, the one arm pinning David is an arm he can't use to attack you, so you just need to make him loosen his grip enough.

Moving as quickly as you can, you dash past your foe and strike Durandal in the face hard enough to make him lose his grip on David. It almost makes you wish you hadn't, as the armor is extremely durable and striking it hurts your hand. You know you're going to have a long fight ahead of you if things keep continuing like this.

However, Bennett takes some time to chip in. "Just a little bit longer, and I'll be able to take a good shot at his circuitry! Keep it up, and we might be able to take a break before we head further in."

"How are our injured doing?" Sofia asks, stepping aside of a piece of debris hurled by the armor.

"Pretty well, all things considered. Since the fight took place in here instead of the quote on quote real world, the injuries are mostly psychic projections."

"Don't know what that means-" Kenneth grunted as he struggled against your enemy, "But will they be able to help us in the final fight?"

"I think so. Donna's raring to fight, actually, though she needs to stay still a little longer to heal. Mr. Orosco is handling her recovery with Posiedon."

Instead of attacking this time, the Enkidu shoves Kenneth away and takes time to charge an attack, bracing himself, giving off a hum and glowing slightly from the eye-slots.

You try to find any location capable of shielding you from the blast, but the first spot that makes any sense is a piece of shattered ground that's been forced into an outcropping position.
Everyone else isn't able to move fast enough as you barely get to cover in time to avoid an incredible burst of apparently untyped power. You don't feel like you would have been able to resist the blast's energy.

When your vision clears and you're able to see through the haze of light again, David has been thrown from where he's standing and stands back up looking exhausted. Sofia is in better shape than he is, but she's wilting a bit as it is. Kenneth is thankfully at about your strength, and he can continue the assault, forcing the android to leave open a few more spots for him to exploit and hurt.
The General reletnlessly assaults Enkidu, dodging constantly and attakcing when the openings appear. However, the heavy armor of Enkidu is leaving your team in a bad shape. He can take more danage than you can, at least at the moment. You need to think up a strategy to take him down soon.

"Look, just say the word and I'll try to shut him down! It'll take an opening, but I can do it! Don't wait until you're on the verge of collapsing!" Walt warns. ""

Halting an attempt for Sofia to heal the two of you, you instead ask her to turn her firepower on the android. Closing her eyes with a sigh, she says, "If you insist," and focuses, her body surging with magical energy. David acts similarly, preparing Galahad for an all-out assault.
Soon, the two of them move on your signal after you take away the android's strength with a haze of confusing, flickering lights.

Lady and Knight
"David!" Carollo commands, and David initiates the attack with a shield to Enkidu's helmet-plate and raises it with both hands, galeforce winds forming a tunnel. Durandal finds himself having trouble standing still, and in the center of the storm, a flame suddenly takes to the wind, turning the wind into a burning barrier of ever-increasing heat and force. Kenneth manages to escape most of the damage, and looks on in awe as your group effort leaves serious damage on Enkidu. For the first time in the fight, it seems as though you have the upper hand besides Walt's trump card.

"Now!" Evelake gives you a motion to go. You charge at your disoriented enemy and-

You unleash a massive burst of psychic power through Faust, enough to temporarily send an odinary human insane. However, the android has a certain amount of defense against it- a set of defenses that fails to hold up when a lightning bolt strikes him and crackles around his body, jumping and connecting different points, ruining circuity and wreaking havoc on him.
The mighty armor falls to its knees, flickering and then shutting down. Out of the twisted metal comes a power-drained Durandal. His facial features are damaged, exposing some of the cybernetics that control his optics and jaw.

"You..." he trembles, reaching out before collapsing into a heap of helpless steel and plastic. David runs over to him and cradles him, though the older's joints are locked up and he's unable to respond. Evelake looks up at you, as if asking you if he's going to be all right. You can't give any answer to him.

Walt soon arrives with a grimmer face and intent. "I've never seen any of those memories he was talking about when he needed diagnostics. He may have been tricked."

"But who could do that? Mr. Clover isn't powerful enough." His fiancee tries to make sure everyone else is alright as the computer teachers studies your fallen foe.

"I'm starting to wonder myself," he comforts her. "Alright, I think we can stop for now. We have two more circles."

---

When everyone regroups, you're in Avalon, and everyone not restng or discussing the situation is studying the televisions here or standing guard. Durandal is strapped down, and Harpe was allegedly taken away.

"There are too many more Curses showing up," Dr. Bennett mutters. "We won't be able to hold out forever." He points at the ever-expanding wave of darkness filling one of the main screens, surging over the towers of Babylon.

"Then we need to win now," Sofia declares. "There are two circles left, correct?"

"Heresy and Treachery," David says. "Boss, you've gotten us this far. Plans?"

"Heresy... I don't know who else that could be," Ruth mutters uncomfortably. "I mean, these last ones are all people instead of Monsters, right?"

"I don't know," Keith says, standing up, the scar on his forehead having closed up. "And I don't care." He looks absolutely livid. "We need to end this."

"The elevator goes all the way down to Treachery," Walt mentions. "I don't know why."

Once again, it's up to you to set a direction.

"What?" Keith sputters. "Oh, come on, I'm good to go."

"We both are," Donna groans as she stretches her arms and stands, "but he needs us for backup, remember? You're our pinch hitter."

"She's right," David supports Price's judgement, "it's more important that we all come out of this alive than if we enter in a particular order. You and I have the most durability of the group, and Donna has higher-than-average attack power to settle things with."

"Alright, but you guys better tag out alive or else," Allan crosses his arms.

>What about Typhon? Any signs of life?
Walt answers. "Nothing super destabilizing. In fact, it seems to be... calming down?" He studies a computer screen. "Its passive power output has been dropping extremely slowly. It's not a lot of difference, given that thing connects to just about everything alive on earth, but relative to us I figure it's lost about three or four dozen Myths worth of power more than usual since we started, though that's well within the range of usual fluctuation."

"That's proportionately less than nothing," Dr. Bennett counters. "We've got seven billion or so people on this planet. I don't mean to sound callous, but people commit suicide all the time. Your mother said it's more than one a minute."

"I don't know, Dad." Walt rolls his eyes. "I just thought it was worth mentioning."

When you give the signal to move out, Sofia is the first to follow you. "Alright," she says. "So we're taking Heresy on first, correct?"

This floor is eerily similar to Olympia. In fact, it seems to be Olympia, except that there's no electricity or lights at all except from the elevator, and the exit door is from one of the rooms on the girl's floor. Ruth looks around in confusion. "This is... Odd."

"No time to stand around," Kenneth says. "Where to?"

"I'm picking up something in the rec room..." Walt says. "Watch your step, that place is pitch black and I sense Curses swarming around."

Carefully making your way downstairs, Sofia uses Pythia to shed some light on the area, and you make your way to the couch-filled room. Someone seems to be playing cards on the table, which sends a shiver up your spine since it's too dark to see.

"Priestess Reversed...Intuition has been deceived..."
"It can't be..." Sofia pales. That voice is Flores's.

"What's going on?" asks Kenneth. ""

"Magician Reversed... Someone is abusing their power..."
Ruth immediately begins to break down and panic. "No! No! Stop!" Trembling, she grabs Sofia's shoulders and her legs fail with tears in her eyes.

"Devil..." The figure suddenly turns around and stares you directly in the eyes with a malicious red glow and far too many teeth. "Welcome to the trap."

Unhinging her jaw, the Monster wails at all of you, apparently summoning Curses to her side to transform. The result is a nightmarish mess of viscera and glass in a vaguely human shape, discolored crimson with blood.

You rack your mind and realize that this is what she's been so guilty about. Is she really on their side somehow? Is this what Kronos had her do?
You don't get to think about it much longer as you raise your bat to block a shard of glass that would have run trhough one of your eyes. Instead, you deflect it and it cuts a line on your cheek.
You're really sick of people attacking your face, and Faust attempts to catch some shards to throw them back. They sink in, but don't seem to have any effect.

"Am I the only COMPLETELY LOST person here?" Kenneth gasps, dodging another burst of glass.

"Long story short- Oh, who cares? Just fight it!" Sofia unleashes fire against the Monster.

"Kronos told me all about his plans, yes he did. He's going to use the machine to fix everything wrong with the world."

"We-we can't..." Ruth still doesn't have the will to fight.

"What's so bad about that? This world is ugly and cruel! So I hid the fact that I was able to use multiple Myths and entered the Witching Hour to transfer some of the ones I caught in secret to him."

Flores shakes her head and screams, "I didn't want to! He made me!"

You let the power running through you concentrate until it seems ready to burst. You have several options here, but primarily a physical attack or a psychic one from Faust's abilities.

Donna switches out for her friend, and Ruth relaxes as she's taken out of the line of attack.

"That's right, run away! You're no good for anything but running now..." Blood Mary attacks, but Donna's Cordelia protects her friend as she leaves.

"Yeah, well, that's what the rest of us are here for," Price says. "I wasn't much good at this when my Monster showed up, either, and neither were any of the others."

>Drain energy from Bloody Mary to heal yourself, and make it count. (Charm +6)

You hold out your hands and focus. Bloody Mary screeches in vengeance, but Faust opens his jaws and roars in response as well. Morrigan, who has taken the form of a pale woman dressed entirely in raven's feathers, merely smirks and lights up the area with the same sort of pure energy the Enkidu armor released, though it only tears into Bloody Mary. While she's occupied pulling herself together, Faust's energy vampirism goes to work, slowly draining power from the Monster and drawing it into your own, closing your wounds and clearing your mind.

When you're done, you can finally focus again, and turn your attention to the ever-weakening pile of maevolent sludge. Bloody Mary reforms, but she's not nearly in the condition she was at the beginning of the fight, and you have a newly-improved light magic user on the team.

"Let's see what this form can really do," Donna asks. Sigils of light and darkness are summoned at the Myth's command, and Price stretches out her hands to control them.

That's it for the night. I should be able to return at the same time tomorrow, unless I indicate otherwise on Twitter or Discord.

Donna bombards Bloody Mary with searing light and pure power. The monster hisses and lashes out, wounding Donna slightly but leaving everyone else relatively unharmed.
It uses its other action to heal itself slightly, going from badly wounded to middle-of-the-road.

"Let's kick its ass," Donna cheers you on, and you instinctively nod, your strength returning to you.

You bolster Donna's power, but she is singled out by the monster, who uses her two attacks to incapacitate your ally.
"Augh! N-No..." the frailer girl cries out as she topples to the ground unconscious. Sofia uses Pythia to bring Donna back to her feet, but your action ends up being wasted by the attacks.

"You have no hope..." Bloody Mary hisses. "Even with the new power you possess, Kronos is too powerful! You can't fight him!"

"We'll know when we fight him," Kenneth answers. "You don't tell us what we can and can't do!"

Another attempt to bring things back on track gets cut short with another powerful attack- draining Sofia of life instead of Donna.

"No!" Donna cries out. "You bitch!" She drops a light sigil on Bloody Mary, leaving scars on the creature, but the damage is already done. Carrollo is out for the count, and none of your current allies can revive her.

"Writhe in despair," the Monster laughs cruelly. "I have accepted the futility of resistance, why can't you?"

"I'm getting her out of there!" Walt says. "Pick a replacement, and fast!"

You immediately trace a path in your mind and prepare.

(Fleeing is no longer sealed!)

Keith answers your call in a fury and immediately opens up with a powerful ice-based attack. Bloody Mary screeches against the blistering winds, and, intending to take at least one of you down with her, attacks Donna, but the strike misses. Kenneth follows up with a nuclear burst, leaving the enemy very wounded.

"No... I will not... Cede to you..."
She heals herself slightly by draining life force from Kenneth, but she's not at the top of her game. One more good shot should finish her off.

Keith clenches his fists as you block the two hurled waves of glass that try to impale Kenneth and Donna.

"I'm ending this!" Allan says. "Gawain!"
The knight forms around him and waves upon waves of snowflakes and hail hammer at Bloody Mary's body. Cold magic disfigures the lump of flesh even further, freezing and shattering parts of the abomination.
"You... Will... Never... Succeed..." Bloody Mary hisses as her form begins to tense up and attempt to lash out ineffectually.

Soon enough, the movement by Ruth's Monster stops, and the green-armored knight summons a two-handed battleaxe that it swings to decapitate with. The Monster's head flies off and hits the floor, shattering into a a series of globs of flesh and then slowly dissolving into nothing.

Panting, Keith says, "That was probably the most power I've ever used at once." He sighs. "Dammit, we're down a woman, and she's our best healer. How are we ever gonna defeat Kronos?"

Ruth looks at the ground apologetically. She has no words either, obviously ashamed her Monster was responsible for this, the hardest challenge you've faced yet.

The android looks nervous. "I think I can, but it'll take some time. You'll have to start the fight without us."

"That leaves us with very little healing," Walt warns.
His fiancee chips in, eager to do something. "I can try to bolster your strength. Just stand still and I'll channel you healing through Walt."
Energy sweeps into your body, rising up from your feet to the top of your head. You feel ths wounds you took for Donna and Kenneth closing again. It feels familiar to have your wounds heal, which worries you.

>This isn't your fault, Ruth. We've all been there.
"I hope so," she says.
Looking up, as if staring into a sky that isn't there, she says, "I guess... I guess I just wanted a way to justify not telling you all beforehand. I didn't trust you... and you got hurt because of it."
Florez chokes up for a bit before beginning to cry. She wipes her tears away. "Now's not the time for that. I'm sorry I hurt all of you. Maybe I can use my strength to end this after all."
The ornately-dressed Christine shatters and reforms in a cold, dazzling wind.
(Ruth's resolve has transformed Christine into Rusalka, the Singer of the Depths!)

Reaching out her hands, she raises them and Sofia draws in a heavy breath.

"I-I..." she looks at Ruth with a little bit of conflict. "We won, I take it?"

"Yes, we did," Ruth says, stepping up and embracing a surprised Carrollo. When Sofia returns the hug, David looks around before joining it. Kenneth, Donna, and Keith step up before Sofia starts getting peeved and waves them off.
"I-I think that's enough." She brushes herself off, a bit embarrassed, and looks at you. "Orders?"

>>Orders?

You regroup and recover, the fact that the final battle is finally on the horizon giving you hope. You chat a bit about minor affairs and the trials of school... and as you do so, you feel a bond connecting all of you.
Your shared strength has brought you all this far, and you can go a little further yet.

Your united front in the face of peril has brought forth a new Myth: Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier.
Davy Crockett: Explorer (+3/+0/+1/+3)
Unique Power: Remember the Alamo (+2 Courage if at least one ally including self is in Bad condition)

You look among your friends, and find courage among them. Walt looks over the screens cautiously, before noticing something and then beginning to type on the keyboard.
"It can't be..." he mutters.
