>Last time of Hunter x Hunter quest

The long anticipated show has begun. Derrick along with Etheline, Florette and Noell have joined on a team to take on Rea, Telfour, Vanilla and Landon in a 4vs4 show where the winner gets a prize that will aid them in the first stage of the Hunter Exam.

The show started off with a clash between the Derrick, Etheline and Florette as they're ambushed by Vanilla and Rea whom nearly take them out of the game and kill Etheline in the first few minutes.

However, the table were turned when Etheline presented the true capabilities of MUMA when she activated its true strength in a moment of resolve.

Etheline neutralizes both Vanilla and Rea in a single attack and starts the show off with a massive advantage to the side of the Sheriffs. Only Telfour and Landon remain before they’ve won the day.

But that just begs the question.

Where are the remaining robbers? And what plan do they have to attack and rob the sheriffs of the prize?

15 minutes have passed since the show began and only 1 hour and 15 minutes remain before the show ends.

And now the adventure continues…!

SMACK

A strike rings out in the distance as the rain showers from above and you fall into the wet grass below, “Ergh…” your groan follows a moment after the brutal strike, the sound of it low enough that the blaring rain watering the surrounding plains should have completely washed it away.

Even so, he heard it clearly and spoke in turn, “Don’t cry child, that was only the 15th strike. A real warrior could bare this level of pain with ease.” He declares in a solemn and stern voice. You look up to him and watch as he points his wooden blade down at you.

He speaks again, “A warrior is born through years of unending pain and strife. To a warrior, pain is like a mother. It nurses you, and teaches you how to stand up, it guides you down the right path and gives you legs to walk upon it."

"And it will always be with you, it will never leave your side, not during hard times, not during good times and certainly not during the rain.” He states in a deep, solemn voice.

“Hah…Hah…” you pant as you use this lecture as a chance to gain a moments rest.

“I shall take your silence as understanding child. If that’s so, then cease your pathetic moaning and fight me once more.” He brings his sword up once again and waits for you to strike.

You stop your breathing on command and bring your shaking and pained legs back up to a combat stance as you present your blade on command.

A tense moment passes as you stare at the stern man waiting quietly in the rain for your attack.

The moment is then washed away with the rain as you charge forward with all your strength.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” You cry as you stab forward.

You Crash to the ground with a SPLASH.

“Ergh…!” you groan uncontrollably from the pain of the strike. The feeling of wet mud covering your back is only half as disgusting as the taste of it when it splashes into your mouth. the grass brushes against your cuts and bruises which causes them to itch intensely.

But that pain is nothing compared to the strike you just experienced.

You cannot physically comprehend how fast this man moves. Your eyes simply cannot follow his movements. In one moment he seems still as stone, the next he has already swung his sword, landed a blow and returned to a neutral stance, all before you even make it half-way to the ground.

It isn’t just his speed that feels overwhelming, the power and weight he puts behind each strike is enough to send you flying over 10 meters before finally landing and sliding to a stop.

That last strike marks the 16th time you’ve been sent flying across this muddy field.

“Pathetic whelp.” and that marks the 16th time he's called you that , “Your strikes are far too predictable, you have skill, but no creativity. The way of the blade is far more then technical skill and knowledge. You fight like a scholar trying to complete a thesis paper. Not a warrior who aims to one-day rule this kingdom.” He lectures once again.

You look up to the raining sky as it pours cold water into your open wounds and stings your fresh bruises. It takes you a moment, but you once again find yourself standing up and taking a combat stance against the All-seeing King.

“At least you still have your pluck with you. A trait fit for a warrior. Now come child.” He orders as he brings his sword up once again.

“Prove to me your worth. Prove to me that your existence was not a mistake. Prove to me that you can be king.” He requests.

You do as your told and raise your blade once more and charge through the rain.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” You cry, the pain and your determination carrying you forward as you try and take what’s rightful yours.

SMACK

A strikes rings out in the distance, its sound washed away by the rain.

You open your eyes as the dreams of the past fade and the reality of the present returns.

https://youtu.be/Hstsdrrd_Gk

Your name is name is Noell Cromwell. You’re the 72nd prince to the kingdom of Brenho and you are currently undertaking Hunter exam to learn what makes a heart.

You just remembered something from your childhood for some strange reason, you have no idea why you would remember your Father of all people right now. After all, he’s long gone.

You decided to take this little journey away from the kingdom for a multitude of reasons, mainly political and military issues you'll have to sort out when you get home.

But the most important one is, as your sister put it,‘seeking a heart where there is none’. Her only words imparted to you before you left.

You’d call that an insult, but even you’re aware of your renown in the kingdom as The Cadaver Prince. A title that has haunted you ever since you were a child.

You’re trying your best to learn exactly what it takes to earn this ‘heart’ everyone cares so much about.

You’ve had no difficulty reaching this far. The people undertaking this exam are mostly greedy fools and desperate failures, certainly no challenge to you who has spent most of his living days training to rule over the kingdom of blades.

However, you’ve run into a new issue, one that has plagued you since the day of your birth.

Social Interaction.

You expected that you would have to work together to complete some tests, which is why you brought Florette along with you in this Exam.

But you didn’t think you would have to work with a group of people you barely even know. What makes it worse is that group is comprised of a Loud fool (Derrick) and a nervous geek (Etheline).

You don’t really care for the nervous geek, as long as she proves useful, you don’t mind her presence.

But You don’t know why that loud fool seems to follow where ever you go, he seems not to like you, so you’d think you’d be seeing a lot less of each other.

You met him back on the airship while you were trying to catch the killer and asked you some dumb questions before insulting you and leaving.

You’re earnestly surprised he’s made it as far as has, so he can’t be as incompetent as he looks. Florette has requested multiple times that you try and talk and be friendly with him, but if any of your previous interactions are anything to go on, that’s one request you’ll never be able to fulfill.
>>
But even so, you are still waiting for Derrick to formulate a plan to fight during this show. You didn’t think you would ever be led by someone like him but you can’t trust the other two to handle planning this and you doubt anyone here wants you lead them.

“Noell.” Finally, Derrick speaks and you perk your head up to listen, "Take the Cargo and head to your room." He commands.

"So don't head to the roof then? What if I get cornered or someone stops me before I get into the room?" You ask.

"If you get cornered, there should be a window that will let you escape to the roof and run to another car from there. I'm pretty sure that every car but the Cargo Cars and Engineering Cars have windows in them, use your own discretion to decide where you go from there." He explains

"And if I get stopped on the way?" you question.

"Then you fight whoever you encounter or play a game of hide and seek with them. Doesn't matter, as long as they don't get the Cargo, we win." He explains.

"Understood." You nod your head and grab the Cargo that slip into one of your coat pockets.

Derrick then explains the plan to the rest of the team while you inform Sheldon of the various failures in his show and his life in general.

After a while you hear an intercom spark to life and a woman’s voice pours through it, "Hello, Good passengers of this train. We're so sorry for the delay, but our preparations are now complete." You hear Ami’s voice come on and proceed to explain the rules of the show to the passengers and add pressure to your group.

Her words barely catch your interest, you half-listen to the broadcast as you think of all possible ways that this battle can go down.

It seems Derrick’s smarter than you give him credit for. Placing you on your own was a good move. You’ve always worked better when you don’t have someone else to worry about, not because they would be a burden, but because you’re not someone who has been trained to fight with others people on the battlefield.

So working on your own is better, a warrior should never become dependent on others after all.

"So, for those heroes, survivors and Hunters of tomorrow, I have one question..." You hear Ami setting up for a dramatic finish.

"Are you ready for The Greatest Show on The Planet?" And with that statement, the intercom dies and the Show begins

"That's your cue heroes. Get moving." Sheldon states as you all begin to get out of your seats.
>>
Your the first to move up since your role relies on speed and stealth. You dash like a blur through the train cars and cover twice as much ground as your teammates.

You blow past 20 cars in no less than a minute and begin moving your way through the passage around the Engineering cars and into Sleeper cars.

tap, tap, tap, tap

But just as you are about to cross over, you hear a sound above you and stop. The steps are silent and swift, you ready yourself for attack, but you quickly realize that they’re not coming for you, but heading towards lunch cars instead.

This means that more than likely they’re heading to the rest of the group or going to kidnap the passengers.

This completely throws a wrench into Derrick’s plan considering no one is actually guarding the passengers. He chose a more offensive strategy to deal with the robbers by ambushing them. Not a bad plan, but certainly not a good one either.

Derrick’s plan had a fatal flaw, that was the assumption that his opponents were simpletons who'd just charge in blindly without a strategy of their own.

It's only obvious that when you get trapped in a confined in environment, you would naturally try and any way to use what little space you have to your advantage. Any strategist worth their salt knows that.

You imagine they’ve split they’re forces up to confuse us and ambush us, which means you should be expecting a confrontation just ahead.

But that's no problem, the enemy has also made a fatal error in their planning. That was being dumb enough to splitting their combat strength up because they think two people will be enough to handle you.

You press on forward, you have no need to worry about the two above you, Florette should have also realized that these two are heading above her and the rest of the group.

She’s a bit of a klutz and needs to work on her combat skills but her five senses are sharp, even sharper than yours.
>>
You enter the sleeper cars and head to your room.

You wanted spend most of your time on the roof, yet Florette insisted that you get a room with her to ensure you would have somewhere to sleep, you didn’t want to sleep somewhere with windows large enough to crawl through because that meant anyone can sneak through it and kill you in your sleep.

Where you come from, sleeping anywhere without a properly secured window and an iron door was an invitation for robbers and assassins come test their luck with you.

You’re more then used too fighting for over 24 hours at a time, you don’t need sleep so much that you would risk your neck for it.

But even so Florette still got you room, she handed you a card and told you to come down when you stop being paranoid.

You pull the card from your coat and see the number 254 and the term 2nd car car above it. This must mean the room is in the second car and the 254th one. You head straight to the other end of the long car trying to crunch time as much as possible before you get ambushed.

It takes you about thirty second to cover the length of the car and reach the door to head over to the next car. You grip the metal handle of the door and open it.

The door groans open as you quickly but carefully open the door and ready yourself to dash over to your room.

CHIC-

Just before the door completely opens, you catch the beginning of an odd sound from the other side of the door. With the reflexes and agility of a cat, you let go of the door and back-flip away from the door.

CHIC

BANG

The sound of shotgun fire goes off as the door flies open and a wave of shells come from behind the door and cover the hallway, you narrowly avoid becoming a pin-cushion as your flip carries you above the gunfire.

You land safely as the source of the ambush rears his head from the door.

“Damn son! You’ve got some moves! Did your mom fuck a spider-monkey before popping you out or something!?” A loud, vulgar voice calls out.

You bring your head up and see it’s that strange man in white who questioned whether he could murder anyone of you or not.

He struts into the room with a toothy grin painted across his face. He plays with his Remington-model shotgun in with his left-hand, equipped with 12 gauge cartridges if the damage on the walls is anything to go by.

He points his gun right at you and speaks, “Aren’t you that emo-looking Bitch-boy that went off on Sheldon when I asked him a question? I didn’t think the first person I’d get to fight would be you! What a fucking disappointment! I wanted to go a round with my good pal Derrick! He looked like he knew how to show a guy a good time!” He prattles on as he shakes his head in disappointment.

You ignore him and examine your surroundings for signs of any allies or additional traps.

He notices your disregard for him and speaks, “What, no reaction? Or is it that you think I’m trying to distract while my buddies sneak up on ya? No need to worry, I ain’t the type of a guy to pull that kinda underhanded and deceitful shit.” he questions

You ignore his statement again and continue to search, you doubt the words of a guy who nearly shot you while hiding behind a door are very trustworthy.

He speaks again, “You still don’t believe me? Paranoid little shit ain’t ya? Well if you need proof, I might as well tell you where the rest of my team is and what they’re doing!” He offers.

You stop searching and return your focus to him, he speaks again, “Now I've got your attention. Now then, you guys might think we have some big, complex plan. But nah, we couldn’t come to an agreement over what to do. The girls wanted to sneak on the roof and kidnap the passengers while you guys chased after me and Landon.” He begins to explain.

That was the plan you assumed they came up with, so he probably isn’t lying so far.

“But Landon decided that he wanted to just go on his own and fight you guys alone. Don't know if he was looking for someone in particular but he did say something about, 'Giving a beautiful person an honest introduction' or whatever.” He explains.

“ After that, I decided that taking that plan was a waste of time and then I told them I didn’t give two shits about a plan that involved sneaking around like a bunch of little bitches!" He exclaims.

"So we all decided to just do our own thing and not get in each other’s way.” He says as he scratches the back of his head with his shotgun.

“The girls went up to the roofs, Landon disappeared somewhere and I haven’t seen him and as you can see, I’m walking boldly to the battlefield! Ready to bust some heads!” He shouts happily.

He’s telling the truth.

You heard the two who ran over your head earlier so he must be at least telling you the truth about them.

But that just begs the question, “Why did you tell me that?” you ask suspiciously.

“Oh so you can speak! I was beginning to think you were some kind of mute or something!” He shouts happily.

Does this bastard only have one volume or something? He’s either trying to provoke you or he must be lacking depth perception, because You’re barely 6 meters away from him and yet talks loud enough for people 600 meters away to hear him.

This guy must be desperate for attention, but you can analyze his psyche later, for now, “Stop dodging the question. Why did you just aid me by giving away your allies positions? If I run away with this info, it could cost you the prize.” You state.

“Like I give a fuck about this shit-show! I don’t need some damn prize to help me finish this exam. What I really want is a good fight! That’s all I joined this show for! If helping my enemies means giving me excitement then consider me turncoat number 1, Baby! Besides…” He trails off as he stops playing with his shotgun and levels it at you again.

“Who said that you’d be able to leave here and tell your friends anyway?” He says in a strangely quiet yet happy voice.

You stand slowly as you speak, “Considering that shotgun your carrying, I assume you’ve been ready to kill any of us at a moment’s notice from the very beginning. Isn’t that weapon illegal here?” you question to stall for time.

“Do you think I give a fuck about this country’s law!? Also, believe or not, I’m not really the kinda guy who enjoys shooting and killing people. This thing is loaded with blank cartridges, so you won’t die unless I hit you right in the head or unload on your ass from real close up. But don’t start thinking I’m nice guy or something, these bullets don’t pierce but they have enough force behind them to break bones!” He explains as he readies his shotgun again.

“Can’t hurt as much as listening to your awful voice.” You state as you ready yourself for combat, you bring your hand around the back of your coat as you speak, “I can’t stand idiots who love the sound of their own voice. Allow me to give you a lesson in proper speaking etiquette.”

In an instant, faster than the human eye can see, you draw your long saber and point it at the smiling man, “I’ll start by slicing your vocal chords, so you can shut up and listen for a minute.” You state.
>>
The man in white whistles, “Well I’ll be damned! The hair spray-queen has a tongue on him! Alright man, If you want to play, I’ll play with you.” He says as he pumps his shotgun.

“But be extra careful Mr. Moody! I’m the kind guy who plays rough!” he finishes before entering a combat stance himself.

>You are now playing as Noell Cromwell! There will be times when you will switch perspectives with other characters for an episode. These times are especially prevalent during missions, that way, you won’t miss any of the action for characters whom you can’t view with Derrick.

>This will mean different playstyles! As each character has their own way of fighting, each character will have their own variety of playstyle. Noell basically fights the same way Derrick does, expect his bonuses are different and un-like Derrick, he is incapable of performing a team attack.

>Instead he has special form of attack called reflex mode, which allows you to both attack and defend with one roll rather than having to roll twice like Derrick does, however reflex mode is prone to friendly fire, which is why it can’t be used with other teammates around.

>Other than that, it’s the same systems and rules in play. Other characters may be more complex, but for now, you must put this loud bastard in his place!

BANG

https://youtu.be/jTnRDvpU4hQ

Without a moments hesitation, the battle kicks off with a blast.

You jump up and kick off the roof to avoid getting hit by the gunfire, as soon as you return to the ground, you dash off it with all the strength in your legs and stab at the loud bastard's shoulder.

In an impressive display of reaction speed, he dodges your blade at the very last moment by bending his upper body to the side which he follows up by slipping his shotgun between your arms and right under your chin.

You pull your head back and roll just before he fires. The loud bastard doesn't give you a moment's rest as he begins to unload his cartridges at you while you roll.

You continue to dodge by jumping from wall to wall and staying just outside the shotgun's range.

"Maybe that Spider monkey joke was right! You dance around like a flamingo that got its ass set on fire!" He shouts as he keeps firing.

"4...5...6.." You ignore him and begin to count his shots.

"The fuck are you whispering over there!? Is it the amount of seconds till I blow your fucking legs off, because then I'll join ya!" He shouts in return.

His hearing is better than it looks if he can hear you over the sound of gunfire and his own voice, not that it matters, just two more shots.

You jump from the walls back to the floor and do a flash kick to avoid his 7th shot. You look around and notice you've reached the other end of the long car.

The loud bastard slowly approach, "Nowhere left to jump now fuck-monkey. Didn't you say some shit about cutting my vocal chords out? Too bad you brought a knife to a gun fight huh? You're shit outta luck." He proclaims as he levels his shotgun at you from 20 meters away.

You bring your blade up and speak, "Will you knock off the pointless threats and hurry up and take the shot. I'm done playing back and forth with you, the next movement will be the last one." You state as you bring your blade up to a high stance.

"That so? Well then I guess this ends here. I'll give you this, you weren't completely boring." He compliments as he pumps his shotgun and pulls the trigger.

BANG

The hail of shotgun fire overtakes the entire train car. There's no way to dodge this one, not that you ever needed to in the first place. That marks the 8th shot.

Like a pro-runner to a Referee's pistol, you dash off with the gunfire and charge into the fail of gunfire.

Time crunches into fractions of seconds as you bring your blade down and slash every bullet that comes close to you.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?" He shouts.

You take advantage his surprise and stab your blade through his leg. "Damn..!" He groans as the blade stabs through his leg.

"How boring am I now?" you ask him as you drive the blade deeper into his ankle.

(Continued)
>>
"Ahhhhhhhh..."He groans trying to resist the pain. He looks up to you angrily for a moment before smiling.

He grabs your shirt collar and speaks,"Goddamn! That fucking hurts kid! But it's a good kind of pain, this is the kinda shit that makes men feel alive! But don't think you've won just because you manged to get me with your little toothpick!" He exclaims.

You try to escape his hold but it's pointless, he's got a death grip on you, "That last roughhouse told me one thing. You're much stronger than you look and I'm a fucking idiot for thinking a gun could help win a good fight! But don't worry now you crazy mother-fucker!" He tosses his shotgun away as he grabs your collar with both hands.

"THE REAL FIGHT STARTS NOW BITCH"

He pulls his head back and delivers a brutal headbutt against you. As you stagger back, he kicks your sword hand and knocks away your blade before you even realize it.

You recover quickly and stare him down as he takes a boxing stance and begins practicing his punches in the air.

"I was an underground boxer before they kicked me out for winning all my rigged fights. I was known to cripple all my opponents beyond recovery and leave more than a few wives without a man to comfort them." He says as he jumps on his injured leg which spews blood from his wound.

"But that's enough talk right? I just want to fuck you up real bad now! You got me excited, so whatever happens next is your fault." He states excitedly.

This man is absolutely insane. He seemed like your run-of-mill hedonistic sadist, but he really has committed his entire being to the pursuit of pleasure. Even if it cost him his life.

You're almost curious what drove this man to point, maybe it has something to do with obtaining a heart, but for now you can't let yourself be distracted by him.

You bring your elbows parallel to your temples of your head and raise your left knee slightly.

If you eliminate him now and capture him that'd be great, but he seems tougher than he lets on, so it might be better to just escape and get the cargo in the room and stick to the plan.

There's no point in running now. It's best you eliminate him while he's emotional and alone.

But still, he's clearly been hopped up on adrenaline, that means he won't go down without you giving him a strike in a critical area.

You look around and spot your sword lying near the loud bastard as he hops up and down but doesn't notice it.

The adrenaline must be giving him tunnel vision as he hasn't made sure to knock your blade somewhere you can't grab it. This presents you a good opportunity, if you can grab your sword, you can end this fight in 10 seconds.

That is, if you can keep that annoying bastard from noticing before you do anything. You'll have to bait him into attacking then find an open to grab your blade and disable him with it.

"What the fuck are you waiting for shitbag!? You can't be getting cold feet now right!? Hurry up and come at me bitch!" The loud bastard shouts with impatience.

No more time to think, you ready yourself as you prepare to find an opening.

The loud bastard wastes no time in closing the distance. The stab wound in his leg not impeding his speed in the slightest, in fact, he seems strangely faster now.

He delivers a series of swift and precise punches and jabs, each of which you dodge with ease by ducking and weaving between them while moving slowly in a circle.

While his punches are dodge-able, they aren't simple. Despite the primal aggression he packs in each punch, they are extremely accurate and calculated. He aims for your temples, nose, throat and other vital areas with each punch.

All illegal strikes in boxing, but he's an underground fighter, so you're not surprised he's trained aim for the critical areas of the body.

His stamina is something to behold as well, you dodge about 62 consecutive punches before you finally come full circle and dodge away towards you're sword.

You roll backwards and grab your blade mid-roll and point it at him, he speaks, "Just can't give up the sword huh? No that it fucking matters, I'll snap that fucking stick in half and shove the sharp end down your throat you brat!" He exclaims as he charges in again.

He barrels over towards you like an eight wheel truck with a drunk driver as he winds up a huge swing aimed at your head. You bring your sword to a low stance as you duck his swing and cut the bicep mid-dodge.

He holds his bleeding arm for a second before immediately recovering and attempting to kick your sword arm again with a high kick. You sweep under his high kick and kick his supporting leg from under him, dropping him to the floor.

You then drive your blade into his other leg which causes him spasm in pain.

But he still persists in enduring as he pulls himself and grabs your wrist which only drives your blade deeper into his leg, "It's one thing for you to stab a guy in the foot, it's another to stab him in both! I think deserve some payback for this bullshit!" He says as his grin grows ever wider.

You feel an intense pain in your wrist as he begins to squeeze strongly, "I think your arm will do nicely!" He states as adds pressure to his grip.

His grip strength is super-human, If he managed to hold you long enough, he would've completely shattered your arm and left you incapacitated.

If he managed to that is.

You ignore the pain in your arm as you flip in the air with your arm still in his grip. You use your pinned sword as a balancing point while you use one arm to drive the sword all the way through his leg and into the train floor.

"ARGHHHHHH" He screams in pain, his grip fails him as you remain perfectly balanced on your sword's hilt.

As his grip falls, so do you. Bringing your entire body down from the hilt, you knee drop the loud bastard in the face and promptly end the battle.

You hear the sound of teeth cracking as your knee smashes The loud bastard's head into the metal ground.

You then proceed to roll off his face, removing your sword from his leg in the process. You look down at the bloody and bruised man and wonder if you killed him for a moment.

Fortunately, he quickly twitches and begins to moan slowly, "owwww..." He groans quietly.

"Even now you're conscious? Your fortitude is to be applauded. Maybe if you weren't such a loud dumbass, you would've been a real threat to me." You state as you search your coat for the straw rope.

"Fuck off...this ain't over...I ain't giving up till I'm dead..." He states slowly.

"You would be if this was a regular mission, you're lucky that Sheldon told me to spare you." You say as you begin to tie his hands and legs together.

"I...think..I owe you an apology..." He struggles to speak through the pain.

"What?" you question.

"I...treated you like...you were some joke...that me was being a boastful dumbass...I was just asking for this ass-kicking...But...That doesn't mean I can just...give up." He explains.

You listen silently as you finish tying his legs, "Gimme...your name." he requests.

You look him in the eye and wonder how he still hasn't fainted, "I don't wanna forget about you...you can say you've earned my respect...so I don't want to just call you 'kid' or 'Emo bitch'...So gimme your name." He requests as he fades in and out of consciousness.

"..." you aren't sure how to respond.

"Come on...don't give a guy the cold shoulder...I need an answer quick...I'm not gonna be awake much longer.." He says as fights to stay awake.

"It's Noell Cromwell." You introduce yourself.

"Noell huh? My name's Telfour...Bradford...make sure you don't forget it.." He limply raises his arm and points it at you.

"It's...the name that...will kick your ass one day...that's a...promise..." With that last proclamation, his arm falls away along with his consciousness.

You don't really know why you told him your name. You probably just added one more pain to your ass. But for some reason...you just couldn't resist telling him your name for some reason.

But that enough of that, you need to hurry to your room and finish this mission.

You attempt to dash off, but turn back one more time and examine Bradford. His blood-soaked clothing only grow dirtier by the minute.

You were trying to only disable his limbs, but that last stab punctured an artery from in his left leg. He won't die immediately, with his fortitude, you give him a little over an hour before he completely bleeds to death.

That means you don't really have to worry about him getting you disqualified. However...

You really do need to get moving, you shouldn't waste time examining the wounds of someone who just tried to kill you.

You attempt to head down the train car and head to the other end of the train car. But then you quickly turn around and find yourself standing over Bradford's unconscious body once again.

You take off your combat jacket and tear off a long piece of fabric from your the shoulder of your t-shirt. You kneel down and apply pressure to the opened artery and begin to wrap the wound with the torn fabric.

After a good minute, you notice the blood loss begins to subside. Normally you wouldn't care whether or not a loud idiot like this lives or not, but that's not a how a hero thinks.

A truly selfless hero would provide aid and care for an injured man, even if they're their enemies. You used to find such logic so stupid, but you've been told that a real heart doesn't need strong logic to dictate every action.

With that in mind, you attempt to at-least heal Bradford's fatal injuries before leaving. It takes you a few minutes but you cover almost all his wounds in light cloth.

You then get up and proceed to walk away after ascertaining his stable condition.

You reach the other side of the car and reach your hand out to open the door and get your job done.

"Well aren't you sweet.." A seductive voice whispers against your ear as you feel fingers slowly brush against your neck.

You don't even waste a moment panicking as you swing your blade behind you and take a defensive combat stance.

But when you look in the direction of the voice, you see no difference in the environment, not even Bradford's body has been disturbed.

But there's no mistaking the fact that someone just whispered in your ear. You crouch down as you scan the narrow hallway for a few moments.

It was then that you felt something press against your shoulders and you look up to see a smiling face peering down upon you.

"Nice to meet you as well Noell Cromwell. I'm glad to see your still full of energy. But you need to stop being so tense, it's making you jumpy." He says as he rubs your shoulders from behind.

You roll away and point your blade towards the strange man.

"How hostile. I just want to take a second to talk to you. I'm not here to hurt you, I promise." He says with a non-threatening smile painted across his face.
>>
"Where did you come from? how do you know my name?" You ask while keeping your blade at the ready.

"Did I surprise you? I'm so sorry for scaring you, but your reaction was so adorable I couldn't help myself. I happened to overhear you and my teammate chatting before he knocked out." He answers.

"Great fight by the way, the way you danced with that blade in your hand was beautiful." He compliments.

"You were watching?" you question.

"Yes. Well to be honest, I've been watching everyone, I just saw Derrick and his allies decimate my two female companions a few minutes ago. That was exciting in it's own right, but seeing your own fight directly afterwards was just so..." He trails off as he trails his fingers across his smiling face, searching for words to describe the experience, but instead, he just seems to get lost in thought.

He's been watching everyone fight? How did he manage to sneak by your allies? How did he sneak up on you?

You heard no sound in his steps, nor did you even detect any change in the environment before he appeared before you.

He could have killed you in an instant, but instead he choose to just surprise you, what does he want?

"Is that all your questions? Do you mind answering a few of my questions before you do anything? Seeing you fight got me curious." He states almost as if reading your mind.

"What? Aren't you a part of the robbers? Why don't you just attack me?" you question.

"Well I'm more of a lover than I am a fighter. So maybe I just want to make peace rather than fight you. After all, I just hate blood and violence." He answers.

Something seems off, something's off about this man. To even the most perceptive eye he seems harmless. But you can't help but feel paranoid.

It feels like the walls are screaming conspiracy and that it would be better you just attack him now and don't answer any of his questions.

But at the same time, you feel like attacking him would be a mistake too. You were watching this man back when you were all gathered together, something about him has made you and Florette worry ever since you've seen him.

That feeling is only amplified now.

"Well, shall we talk?"

>Fine, you have a few questions for him as well

>Talk to him, but wait until he lets his guard down to attack him

>Waste no time, just knock him out and tie him up. If what he's telling you is true, then that should end the show.

You nod slowly and keep your eyes locked on him for any odd movements.

"Awww, are you shy? Don't worry, that part of you very cute as well." He compliments.

"Will you just ask the questions." You begin to get annoyed.

"Oh I'm just teasing. Now then, Let's make a game out of this. For every question you answer, I'll answer one in return. That way we're both learning about each other. Seem fair to you?" He preempts.

You nod your head again as he begins, "Alright, If you don't like the question, you can just stay quiet and I'll move on alright?" He states.

"First question, where did you learn how to fight? You're clearly a practiced swordsman and the way you move is impressive." He asks.

That's an easy one, nothing strange there, "I'm from a kingdom called Brenho. I've spent almost all of my life perfecting the way of the sword. I learned from a variety of instructors, but my main teacher is My father." You answer

"Brenho? I believe I've heard of that place. A major nation in the Federation of Ochima, It's known as the legendary kingdom of blades right?" He questions.

"You're well informed, most don't know know of the Kingdom's existence let alone it's pet name." You compliment.

"What can I say, I'm full of surprises. Also, you aren't the first man I've met that's come from Brenho, I happened to meet one of your brethren on one of my many night excursions. He was a treat." He states.

So far this seems like a normal conversation, you can't detect any hostility in his movements or his words. He doesn't seem like he's trying to trap you or distract you. But even so, you refuse to let your guard down.

"Well now it's your turn to ask me a question. I'll try and answer as honestly as possible." He states.

"Who taught you sneak?" you question.

"What if I told you I was taught by a magician?" He answers.

"A magician?" You question

"Yes. A legendary, unstoppable magician who taught me how to disappear and re-appear at will. What If I told you that my sneaking was really just magic?"

"You can stop the terrible jokes. I'm asking you a serious question here." you state

"And I'm giving you a serious answer. Besides, who said I was sneaking around? Maybe I just walked through the door and you were too caught up in slicing up my precious teammate to notice me?"

"That's a lie" you counter

"Huh?" He hums

"Before Bradford and I fought, I scanned this room thoroughly for any other people and I kept watching for any odd movements and stayed near the doors at all times. You couldn't have entered the door, which means your lying." You claim.

"Ohhhh, Then where did I come from?" he questions.

"I suspect that you didn't enter this area at all. But rather, you watched the fight from one of these rooms beside me, then when the fight came to a close, you entered the area and snuck up behind me." you deduce.

You see the grin on his face widen as you speak, you continue, "That presents me with one of two possibilities, you were waiting in your room for the chance to ambush anyone who walked by or you snuck through the window of your own room and have been moving around via the roof." You continue.

"Yes, yes. And?" he nods and teases as you speak.

"I suspect that the answer is the latter, which means you could have moved anywhere and done anything with your sneaking skills, and basically nobody would notice you. That brings me to my next question."

His head perks up for this one, "What are you trying to accomplish by sneaking around like this? You better not give me that magician line twice, or you'll regret it. " You finish.
>>
The strange man then proceeds to giggle for a few seconds before speaking, "Your deductive abilities are pretty amazing, but not quite perfect yet." He states.

"What?" you ask.

"You got about three things wrong in that deduction. First of all, none of these rooms are mine. Before the show began, I happened to show a very beautiful lady a very nice time and she promised to let me enter and leave her room as I please, So I just entered her room. All I had to do was flash her a smile and give her a wave to get her to open the door." He answers while waving at the camera in the corner.

"Everyone in their rooms can watch this show via the cameras, so it's easy to get people to open the door for you if you're real nice.

You actually forgot that people were watching this show, he did mention something about a woman when he entered the meeting room, so he isn't lying.

"Your second mistake was the assumption that I never entered this area while you were fighting. I've been watching since the battle began you see, It seems that you weren't observant enough, or maybe my magic was simply too strong for you mind to comprehend?" He questions with a smile.

Where was he hiding, you were there should be no blind spots anywhere in this narrow hallway, is he bluffing to intimidate you?

"Your third mistake was thinking I have a hidden agenda behind talking to you. I have no intention of fighting you here, I'm just curious and want to ask you a few questions." He states.

"Speaking of which, let me move onto my next question. What are you doing here?" He asks you.

"Hm?" you hum.

"I can't imagine you came all the way out here with no friends to help you. Why are you all on your own?" He questions.

That's a dangerous question, he's trying to bait info about your plan. You might wanna stay quiet, but that might give away the fact that you're planning something if you don't say something.

You should lie, but that might give away your plan even more than staying quiet would.

You choose to stay silent and give him nothing to work with.

"An uncomfortable question? Got it, then I'll move onto my next question." He excuses your response and moves on.

"What do you think of me?" He asks.

"What?" you ask.

"You've been watching me for a long time haven't you? It's not good to be a voyeur you know? You can get punished badly for something like that." He explains.

So he noticed, not surprising considering how observant he seems, more importantly, "Was that a threat?" you question as you sharpen your gaze.

"No. I was just stating that many people would get angry from being spied on, not me though, I'm fine with you watching me. But then that just gets my curiosity brimming, what do you think about me now that you've met me?" he asks.

The hell is the point of this question, you can't discern his objectives at all. Sometimes he seems like he's leading you into a verbal traps, other times he keeps pulling your leg with stupid small talk questions.

Well it's better than being pressured or tortured into giving him answers.

"Abnormal" you answer.

"Excuse me?" he asks.

"You're extremely abnormal. You're every action and movement has been confusing to the point of being outright creepy." You explain.

"I'm creepy?" he questions

" Not just creepy, you're also extremely dangerous. However I can't tell you if you're a danger to me and my team." you explain

"Dangerous? My you say some extreme things, what could possibly be dangerous about a pacifist like myself. I hate hurting people and blood drives me crazy." He counters.

"I'm entirely normal, there's nothing strange about me at all. If anything you're the strange one." He states.

"What do you mean?" you ask.

"You don't really care about anybody here do you? I can tell from the look in your eye that lack any form of sympathy or empathy. You help people simply to fulfill an ideal rather than live true to yourself. To me, that seems abnormal." He explains.

You go quiet for a moment, you can't exactly deny his claim. From the moment of your birth, you've failed to feel things for others, empathy is an unknown feeling to you. Up until recently you thought the idea of caring what happens to someone else was meaningless, but now...

"Now, I want to try and change myself to be someone who move past his birth. Even If I have no heart beating in this chest, I can at-least try to understand how those who do think." you counter.

"See, now that's abnormal. A Sociopath who cares, a pretty concept but it won't be easy to overcome genetics and conquer your own mind. I on the other hand am completely normal." he expresses.

He holds his arms out as he explains, "I have a perfectly normal mind and a perfectly normal heart. I care for everyone and share empathy with all those who suffer, you could almost say That I love everyone. you included. Noell Cromwell." He explains.

"Love?" you question.

"Yes, I want to share my love with everyone. Isn't that normal? It's normal to love everyone, unconditionally correct?" He says as he holds a hand out to you.

What is this, something feels wrong here...

"At-least, I think that's normal. And that's all that matters right? Since it's normal, it's alright to feel this way. That's why it's okay for me to share this feeling with you and you're teammates as well." He states as he begins to walk over to you.

Something in the back of your mind is screaming at you to run away, it feels strange, he feels strange. You feel a cold drop of sweat flow from your forehead and down your face.

"You're far too tense dear. Come, allow me to calm you down..," He gets closer with every step, yet you can't find the strength in you to run away.

"Allow me to show you my love." He requests in a calming and seductive voice.

And yet, despite the calm and peaceful tone of voice, this feeling in your chest. You're heart is beating faster, you can almost taste the sweat on your face, you're legs shake slightly.

Is this...fear you feel?

Your instincts cry out to you, you have to run! You can't possibly win this fight. You have to make a swift retreat and re-group with your allies, otherwise you have no chance here.

With that in mind, you turn around and dash at full speed and head straight to the door on the other end of the car, your legs carrying you even faster than ever before as you cover the long distance in under 5 seconds.

You don't even look back, but you can swear you hear him giggling at you in the distance, you ignore it as you practically burst through the train door and head down the passageway to your allies.

But as soon as you burst into the room, there he stands again, blocking the way and waiting for you to approach. You bring yourself to a grinding stop as you barely dodge back in time to avoid his groping hands.

"My, my your fast on your feet. It's nice to see you so energetic, love's no fun without a chase. So let's see how far you can run before I capture your heart." He states with a giggle.

He's toying with you. He moves so fast that it almost seems like he can teleport, it seems incomprehensible but this wouldn't be the first time you've come face to face with someone superhuman speed and ability.

Your Father face flashes by your eyes and you're once again reminded of that rainy day where you were knocked down, again and again, you never stood a chance against him.

Is this just going to be a repeat of those days? Have you not grown even a little since those days? Even after years of training, you still haven't come close to reaching him?

Has nothing changed?

You find yourself freezing as a torrent of self-doubt overwhelms your mind.

"Hm? I expected you start running again. Are you perhaps too frightened to move? Well no matter. I do love bullying submissive cuties like yourself. Just stay there, I'll come to you." He taunts as he as walks over to you.

Here he comes, you have to move, but you struggle to find the will to move. What can you do now? What other options do you have left? Is it just pointless to even try?

Is this the end?

No. This isn't the end, not yet, not today. You can't be panicking like this, you're the man that will one day rule over the kingdom of blades. If you can't climb this wall, it will one day collapse on top of you and bring you to ruin.

That means you have to stand. Even if you have no chance, you have to stand up.

For His sake your not allowed to give up.

You recover instantly, the strange man reaches his hand out to grab at your head, but all he grabs is air as you jump up and toss away your fears.

You pull your legs in the air and angle yourself properly as you kick with all the strength in both your legs. You knock the strange man away with a full power dropkick that sends you flying through the nearest window.

You fly outside the moving train and for a moment you seem like you're going to crash into the rocky ground below. But you feel no fear as you lash out with your blade and stab into the thick metal exterior of the train.

The blade stabs easily through the metal and latches you to the side of the train, you then climb your way to the top of the moving train.

You wonder which car might be the one where the rest of your team's at, but your thought process is cut off when you see something strange.

A tall, metallic figure runs alongside the train with a long, powerful looking rifle. It seems to be looking into the train from the left side.

What the hell is that thing?

"Now where do you think you're going?" You hear a voice call out below you.

You look down to see the strange man quickly climbing up and reaching for your foot. You run forward and narrowly avoid being grabbed again.

You were so distracted by the strange creature that you almost forget your in the middle of running away, you ignore the large machine for now as you run forward.

As you run, you notice that the train is about to pass over a bridge ahead of you, the twilight has become turned to starless darkness as the train chugs it's way to the Hunter exam site.

This would be a beautiful view if you cared for such trivial entertainments.

The most important thing right now is the location where your allies are at the moment. You look around as you stop and pull a phone out of your pocket.

You read the time and realize that only 40 minutes in the show remain. You only have to last for a bit longer before winning.

You sort through and find Florette's number as you wait for the call to go through. It rings for several times but you fail to receive an answer.

You lock off your phone as you conclude that something has gone terribly wrong. Normally Florette would only let the phone ring once before she answers, twice if she's busy with something.

The phone went to voicemail, so you can only conclude that something terrible has happened.

"Do you really have time to worrying about others?"

You turn your head behind you as you realize that something terrible is about to happen to you as well.
>>
>>2236414

"You're as slippery as you are confusing. At first it seems you're ready and willing to accept my love, then you're running with the wind ." He says with a normal exasperated despite his abnormal reasoning,

"There's no need to be embarrassed it won't even hurt for a second. I don't plan on killing you, I wouldn't dare harm someone as adorable as you. It's just that I'm going to need you to stay with me for a bit, there's someone I want to call and I'm going to need your phone to do it." He explains in a calming voice, as if you're the one acting insane here.

Everything about this man is creepy and weird. His normal face is just a mask...no it would be more accurate to call it a deception. A deception that even fools the one playing it, he seems to genuinely believe his behavior is normal.

How terrifying, everything about him is so terrifying, it's no wonder he instilled fear into your mind so easily, his entire being, mind and body is truly terrifying.

But you have no time to be frightened, you don't have that many train cars left to run away too. Not that it would matter , he would just appear in front of you with that incomprehensible speed.

"Your legs are impressive. I actually felt that kick you gave me. I can feel the years of training that you put into becoming the man you are now." He compliments.

You were actually trying to knock over with that kick, but his body is so tough that you ending up spring-boarding off his body and out of the train.

"Are you actually going to comply and just let it happen already? I'd like this to be consensual, but if you play hard to get for any longer, I'll have to get forceful." You hear a strange sort of excitement flush into his voice as he speaks.

"I'm going to give you one more chance to just give up willingly. What do you think? Aren't I nice." He says with a normal smile.

You're beginning to get tired of this creepy bastard, you need to buy some time anyway, so you might as well speak.

"I think that if I hear one more sexual Innuendo from you I'm just going to jump of this train." You answer.

"Huh?" He blurts.

"I've had more then enough pillow talk. I've had enough of you bastards running your mouth as if you've already won. How about spend less time trying to be a creeper and more on trying to catch me. Because I promise." You state as you point your finger at him.

"I'm going to escape and make sure I find a way to wipe that god-awful smile off your face." You promise with a determined look.
>>
He stares at you absently after your declaration. He stays dumbfounded for a few seconds before his expression completely changes.

The once normal smile, shifts to a truly disturbing one as he speaks again, "Oh man you are a treat. Forget consent, I'm going to make you mine for sure now. Don't worry, I'll make sure you love every second." He states as his true self begins to leak out.

You seemed to have provoked with that last statement, just great, now he really won't give you the chance to run.

You hate to admit it, but you don't really have a way out here, if only you had some way to locate your allies...

"YOU FUCKING BITCH" You something from the train below all of sudden.

You recognize that loud and annoying voice from anywhere. That's Derrick voice, but it sounds violent, almost rabid.

"Was that..?" The strange man notices it as well.

You look over to the car with the robot riding alongside of it and it's then you see your opportunity.

You can't believe it, but you're actually grateful for Derrick and his huge mouth. Because of it, you've found the key to your escape.

You take off with one point in mind. You aim straight ahead and take off at full speed, the strange man's attention is brought back to you and he reacts in an instant by extending his hand to grab you.

That's exactly what you were aiming for, instead of dodging away or attacking, you grab unto his wrist then cartwheel unto his arm. Using his own superhuman strength against him as it gives you another chance to spring board off him.

He attempts to grab you with his other hand, but you're already gone, you launch off his shoulder and send yourself flying off the train.

A maneuver so insane and outlandish, even the strange man is taken aback and stares bewildered at you while you fall to the water below. But your aim is clear, you flip in mid-air and extend your arms and grab unto the long arm of the Metallic figure which gripped unto the train as to not fall off.

You follow through by using the momentum of your jump to swing yourself through the window next to the robot, causing you burst right through with ease.

You burst through the window and enter the car and in the instant you fly into the room, you see several things have gone terrible wrong.

First you see Florette with a knife currently impaled through her hand as she holds down that red-haired woman in a business suit.

Second is you see Etheline sprawled out on the ground, her eyes closed as she weakly holds her bleeding stomach.

Third is an extremely angry Derrick, raising his fists as looks to a scarred woman pointing a strange-looking knife at him.

You had guessed that something terrible had happened, but you can't quite figure out why everything in this car looks like a tornado passed through it and why half your team looks like they're on the verge of death.

But it doesn't matter, you bursting in the room has caught the attention of everyone, but the surprise won't last. Even without context, you'll have to make a decision, who do you attack while you have the element of surprise?

You choose the Scarred woman as Florette is in the midst of restraining the other woman. You land with a slide and charge at the scarred woman from behind.

She turns to meet you but isn't fast enough defend against your hand as you slip your hands under her knife arm and grips it tightly.

You then use all the force in your hips as you twist your body and throw her over your shoulder and slam her into the ground.

She crashes into the ground and coughs out all the air in her lungs. You aren't done yet though, you keep hold of her arm and proceed to wrap around her arm like a coiling snake and hold her arm in an armbar hold and attempt to rip her arm muscles to shreds before she has a chance to recover.

It's then you notice something strange, you put your back into stretching her elbow joints, but they don't even budge under the pressure. You pull with all your force, yet she seems to feel nothing at all.

You look at the victim of your hold and you notice that she barely have been phased by your sudden ambush.

A grin widens on her face as she speaks, "Well that hurt. But lucky us, the whole party's here now." She states in a pleasantly surprised voice.

--------------------------------------------------------------

>40 minutes Earlier

"The real fight starts now!" you exclaim as you happily stride over to the door of the train car.

You're name is Derrick Holums, you've just won the first battle of this crazy-ass show and gained a massive advantage for your team.

Well to say it was all your effort would be unfair. This victory was actually thanks to Etheline who brought an actually war machine to this contest and literally blew away the competition before they had a chance to retaliate.

You now plan to regroup with Noell in order to hunt down the remaining members of the enemy team, but first you need to capture the ones you've knocked out.

You've move to the door to watch for any other sneaky bastards who might be lurking around. You while Florette and Etheline take out their straw ropes and head over to the scattered bodies of Rea and Vanilla.

You're stunned with by just how much destruction one attack by Muma could cause as you look over the pile of wood and metal that was once a beautifully decorated lunch car.

"Man this place is a mess now. What kinda guns is Muma packing anyway?" you ask Etheline as she attempts to pry Vanilla from the wall she's been embed in.

"Well Muma has a small armory worth of weapons on her, but the one she just used a high-power Stun rifle. Extremely effective against large crowds, I originally designed that for riot control as it's best for mass non-lethal takedowns." She explains.

"Well certainly looks like a riot passed through here now. I sure hope Sheldon isn't pissed enough to just disqualify us for this, he seemed ready to rip my head off when I asked if I could just decouple the train cars.." You state in a worried tone.
>>
"Well, I'm a little worried about that as well. But The power of that blast just now should have disabled all cameras in this car." Etheline explains.

"So basically, if push comes to shove, we can just say that the Robbers did it since they don't have video proof we did." You state as you catch her meaning.

"That's real underhanded of you Etheline, I would expected something like from Vanilla." You tease.

"Oh get off my back! She threatened me with a knife so we'll call it even when she wakes up." She pouts.

You giggle to yourself as watch Etheline struggle to pull Vanilla from the wall and Florette pulling apart the pile Rea has been trapped under.

You causally glance between them and the hallway ahead of you as you wonder what's happening to Noell. He should only be a few cars down from you, if these walls weren't sound-proofed you might hear him right now.

Knowing Noell, he probably just delivered the cargo without any trouble and went to the roof to brood like the Emo he is. With that thought in your mind, you turn back to the girls and see something strange.

You look to Vanilla's body and notice something strange about the wall. The hole is a lot bigger than Vanilla's body, the hole is in the shape of her body, but the size of it is abnormally large.

The hole looks like it could fit a man twice her size in width and weight. That's when you notice something even weirder.

Rather than being embedded in the wall, Vanilla's body is actually Floating just above the wall, almost like she's being held in place by some kind of invisible force.

You rub your eyes once to ensure you aren't just hallucinating, but when you look closely, you're sure of it. She's actually floating.

"What the hell?" you blurt out without thinking.

"What is it Derrick?" Etheline questions.

"What the actually hell is happening to Vanilla? You see that right?"you ask.

"Huh? Do you see something strange?" Etheline steps back to look at Vanilla and sees what you do and backs away once again.

"What? Is she...floating?" She says as she examines the Vanilla's body.

The distance is so small and subtle that you wouldn't notice unless you stared, but it's certainly there. What the hell is this nonsense? Did That Stun blast from earlier break the laws of physics along with everything else in this room?

"Is something wrong?" You hear Florette call out as she finally pulls the last of the debris from Rea's body and turns to face you.

"Yeah. Come over here and check thi-" You don't get to finish your statement as your eyes catch something as you look over.

You watch as Rea rises to her feet and silently brandishes a knife.
>>
"LOOK OUT!" You shout without thinking.

Florette turns back to see Rea approaching from behind and attempts to counter her knife stab, but she's too slow. The best she could manage to do was stop the knife with her that was aimed right at her throat.

The knife pierces straight through Florette's hand without stopping for a second, cleaning ripping through her flesh. The blood seeps into her glove as she struggles to keep Rea from pushing the knife further and reaching her neck.

What the hell? How the hell did she get up from that last blast? That blast would knocked out a crowd of rioting people and yet she's fine?

Both you and Etheline stand dumbfounded by the nonsensical turn of events. How could this possibly be happening? You suppress your confused thoughts for now as you charge forward to assist Florette before it was too late.

It takes a second for Etheline to break out of the trance as well and follows quickly, buts that when you both hear a sound ring out.

Thud

Quietly, someone's feet hit the ground to your right. That's when you realize that turning around was one of many mistakes you made during this encounter.

You turn to the source of the sound, and notice the gleam of a knife rushing from your side. However, the blade was not pointed at you.

squish

Quiet, the sound was so quiet it seemed like it would be drowned out by the noise of the surrounding commotion and yet you could hear it clearly.

That was the sound of Vanilla rushing from the side and pushing a long blade into Etheline's stomach. You stop your run and watch as Etheline grabs weakly at the blade being driven deeper into her gut.

Vanilla pulls Etheline in by the back of her head as she whispers into her ear, "I warned you not to do anything stupid. If you just gave up and made this easy, you wouldn't have to be feeling this now." She explains.

"W-What? Is this...Why?" She questions with a weak voice.

"Consider this my revenge Brooks, I'm not soft enough to let you go after that attack. Goodnight." She states with a blood-thirsty glare.

She then drops Etheline to the floor with a THUD.She lands limply on the floor as the bloods rushes from her stomach and begins to cover the floor.

You stand there, stunned beyond movement at the scene that just unfolded. You look at the blood covered Vanilla as she looks to you with an almost sad-look in her eyes.

She then opens her mouth to speak, "Sorry, I'm just doing what I have to survive. Can't really blame me can you? Well, I guess you can, but you get my point." She says as she slides out another knife

She points her knife at you as she takes a composed combat stance, "Just taking from your philosophy. 'Make sure you look out for yourself before others' right, Blondie?" she stands at the ready

You feel a variety of emotions flaring at the moment. Confusion, sadness, fear, but one emotion stands above all the rest. Anger.

Overwhelming, blood-boiling rage.

Before you even realize, you're already shouting out the words, "YOU FUCKING BITCH!" You shout loud enough to blow away any other noise in the room.

"YOU'RE A DEAD WOMAN, I PROMISE YOU I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"You declare as bring your fist up.

Vanilla stares at you blankly for a moment, She begins to mutter something to herself, but you can't hear it, you can't hear anything. It's all blocked out by the sight of Etheline bleeding on the ground.

Eventually Vanilla shuts up and readies herself for your assault. You once wondered how she got back up from that Blast, but you don't care anymore. You'll going to make sure she never gets up, ever again.

You take a step forward and prepare to go on a rampage. But in that moment, something comes crashing through the window.

All eyes in the room focus on that intruding figure as it flies into the room and suddenly charges at Vanilla and takes to the ground in a flash.

The figure then reveals itself to be Noell who's put Vanilla in an armbar, but something's wrong. He's squeezing her arm but doing no damage.

"Well that hurt. But lucky us, the whole party's here now." She states in a pleasantly surprised voice.

Noell rolls away quickly as he stands back up in front of you, "Is this train filled with nothing but unstoppable freak-shows? This is the second one who seems to not take any damage from my attacks." he states as he readies his long saber.

Seriously, what the hell is happening in this place? Now there's emo raining from the skies! But does it even matter to you by this point? All you want to do is destroy the enemies in-front of you, you can't let this bitch slip from you before you have the chance to-

"Snap out of it Derrick. Think for a second before you all get us killed." Noell interrupts your thoughts.

You look to him as he continues, "I don't have any idea what's happening. But I don't think we have a chance of beating of the people here, not without a new plan. So calm yourself, you're our leader. We need you to think straight." he states.

"Think straight!? You want to think straight when this bitch just killed Et-"

"She's not dead." He counters before you can finish.

"Huh?"

"When I ran over her a second ago, her eyes were still blinking open. She's getting there, but she's not dead yet. So cool the hell down or else we won't have the chance to save her at all." He explains.

Noell statements clear the red from your eyes somewhat, enough to see that what he's saying is true. Etheline is still gripping onto to life, you can see her putting pressure to her stab wound to stop the bleeding.

"You just had to ruin the surprise kid? I wanted to see that blonde bastard go wild." Vanilla confesses.

"It'd be more accurate to say she wanted you to jump right into her trap." Noell corrects.

"Trap?" you question.

"I don't know what it is, but something is surrounding her body that makes her extremely tough. I doubt any normal attacks can affect it." Noell states.

"The hell? Like some-kind of force shield?" you ask.

"Basically. I'm pretty sure it can be overwhelmed if we had heavier weapons. But I've got nothing but a sword with me." Noell states.

"That should be good enough." you counter as you take a proper combat stance, "I don't know how this force-field works, but it doesn't make them invincible. Heavy throws and blades still cut them, so we just need something a bit bigger to take them out of commission..." Your eyes search the area and you spot the large smartphone behind Vanilla.

If you can just get your hands on that, maybe you could pilot Muma and use it to send out another wave of energy to attack.

"Looks like you've got a plan. That's good, but I need to tell something. Before I jumped in here, I was actually-"

"Having fun with me." Landon's voice flows into the car as he climbs in from the window that Noell jumped through.

"-Dealing with a creepy bastard." Noell finishes.

"Oh great, just what we needed, more enemies." you say in an exasperated tone as Landon takes his place right behind Vanilla.

"Couldn't catch one kid, Playboy?" Vanilla asks him.

"Well I never expected he would be so quick on his feet. It won't happen again, I'll make sure of it this time." Landon states with a smile.

What a mess this has turned into, you remember hearing that there were abnormal amount of High-skill applicants from The Carlton twins. But this is what they meant, they seem more like superhuman monsters to you!

"Derrick, go fight with Florette. I'll handle these two." Noell states.

"What?" you blurt out.

"I was the one that brought that creeper over here. I know how to deal with him and I don't think Scar-face is as strong as he is. I'll be fine on my own. Florette Is barely managing to stop the business suit over there." He states.

He's right, Florette is just barely managed to keep Rea from overpowering her. They're wrestling on the ground as you speak.

"So go, I fight better alone anyway." He explains as he begins to inch closer to the duo.

Etheline is also barely holding on, he's right about Florette, but there's no way that Noell can handle two of these monsters while also saving Etheline.

That means, this is going to be a vital decision..!

Etheline or Florette?

Which do you save?

I think we should go for Florette she's actively in danger not saying Etheline isn't but she as a higher chance of outright dying maybe we should use our electrical airburst when we grab our gloves if we put our hands right in front of a person will let in them killing them?
