Hi

"Hmm..." x2

Asmund and Okaba are standing quietly as they study the formula for Etherium, alternatively gazing at the etherium spoon we got them as a sample.

"Hmm..." x2, again.

"Armor is out, as are weapons." - comments Asmund - "I don't subscribe to that finite mana theory, but its still too unstable to take into combat, regardless."

Both of our friends sink back into silence as they keep ruminating the formula in their heads.

"Structural reinforcement... wouldn't work." - contributes Okaba - "Nor would farming tools, in the long run."

"What about specialized medical tools?" - we contribute as we take a seat next to our friends.
"They would need exhaustive care, though I guess that's already true for medical tools." - agrees Asmund
"Maybe craftsmen tools as well. A tailor would consider such a needle as a prize, a sculptor would favor a chisel of this stuff, and a clockmaker would enjoy choice tools, but... crafting, storing and transporting them to their new owners would be an exhausting chore by itself."

Indeed, even a bunch of needdles need layers of other materials between them, as would any items made with it. Transport and storage would be a chore unless slaves' [Item Box] was set aside for just such a purpose.

None of the young lords present around the table looked on such a thing with favourable eyes.

"Drill tips?" - we suggest
"Sounds good. They're big and heavy enough to begin with that storing them indicidually wouldnt be too much of a change."
"Maybe the spine of a rockitship? It seems the only use reasonable for the stuff is with large enough things that they can be considered cost effective when transport and storage costs are considered."

Wouldnt be a full shell. At best, it would be two halves separated by rubber or something else to prevent them from touching each other.
>>
>>2240455
I was thinking it would be like a bottle; one piece with an open end that the probe would enter through and from which it would extend sensors.
>>

>Other: suggest an armored shell for our dimensional probes
>>
>>2240474
uhmm...

uhmmm....

I guess that would work but would require a redesign. I guess it would work if we delay things for a couple of weeks.

So, large important parts and probe shielding?
>>
>>2240481
Yes. Our current dimensional probes get eaten after a couple minutes anyway, and need a week or two to build.
Might as well take a few weeks to make a probe that should be able to last significantly longer.
>>
>>2240481

"Alright. This material is useless for armor once others get even a shard of it to throw at you, and the same applies to weapons, so the only use we can give it is as highly specialized construction materials and precision tools." - says Asmund - "Getting the formula out there will pretty much ensure that, though Im sure more than a few idiots will try it anyway."
"...This should last about 3-4 months." - Okaba says after thinking about it for a while - "After that, even the dumbest musclehead will realize that having your sword dissapear just because it clashed against another makes it useless."

With that, the discussion steered towards anchoring other materials to the support beam, but eventually made its way back to current projects.

For now, we go back to the lightning guns. or rather, the staff-like versions that Asmund came up with, thanks to a suggestion from us.

Adding a conuctive material (such as copper) to the end of the staff can help focus the discharge and reduce its area of effect, thus allowing troops to wield the shockstaves somewhat safely, though the simply contact between a weapon's head and an ally is enough to cause a burn.

Thankfully, the weapon can be turned "off", greatly reducing this danger.

"The problem is that copper is a very soft material. Maybe a harder material with a conductive edge?"

After a while, they want to either add a trigger mechanism to the head, or the handle.

>Adding it to the handle means the warrior needs to be aware of wielding the weapon and triggering at the right moment, adding distractions to combat. Lets add a pressure or closed circuit system to the head instead.

"Well, as long as it helps us, I am grateful for it."

Hmm... alright, there's still some time before we have to pick up Lyann at the university, so let's earn some pocket money.

I have a feeling that if I tell her I spent it all, she'll cut how much she gives me from now on.

Ah, but isn't it my money? How mysterious, even though she is my (self declared) slave, isn't she controlling her master quite a bit? Hn. But it's alright, because in truth, she's my beloved (wife) childhood friend.

No, wait, that still seems kind of wrong somehow... Alright, let's try and convince her to raise our monthly stipend as often as we need to until she's convinced.

*nod*

Ah, we went off topic. Let's see... Tanis, Sykia, Miel II (I feel like I should give her a pet name to avoid confusion, maybe just Honey? Miel means honey in spanish after all), Tiel, and Fleur...

Fleur ... should be classified as a summoner, I think. Rather than fighting herself, she calls forth maneating plants to do the fighting for her. In a sense, she's a bit of a cheat character, as she can vastly increase a party's numbers without reducing anyone's exp share.

I guess she would be a prestige character type. Anyway, I think its fine to think of her as a summoner, and give her a position at the rear of the party. Or rather, near the middle, since realistically speaking, we -can- get attacked from the rear in this world.

As a one-girl army, we could just send her down to clean (eat) a whole dungeon and be confident in her safety, but the problem is that she would eat any drops along with anything that isn't nailed and in flames...

I really need her to increase her intelligence as soon as possible.

Anyway, Fleur, summoner, needs protection so lets assign her near the middle of the party.

Tien and Tanis are both bruiser types, so we can assign both of them to the front lines.

Sykia... needs me to cover for her still. As does Miel.

Tanis // Tien // Myself
Fleur Sykia
Miel II

That seems like a reasonable lineup...

Alright, let's take advantage of the larger, older foodgeons in the capital, and run the monsters down while picking up the loot.

To be honest, I think we need to hurry forth so that Fleur wont eat the loot (by proxy, through her plants), so we'll just mow down the mobs in easy floors and dedicate our party to pick up the loot after her.

The exp will be negligible for most of us, but Sykia will benefit from it, plus, I want the girls to have more social experiences, rathet than just worry about combat exp, so a fun and relaxed group stroll should be perfect.

Of course, we're still going in formation in case anything makes it through Fleur's vacuum clea- I mean, plants.

And so, I summon them all out outside the Adventurer's Guild.

"Oh, this city has a rather nice mood to it." - comments Sykia - "Is nice and fresh, the streets look clean, and the buildings have a nice classical fantasy town look to them. Or rather, a european town feel."
"Is that so? I haven't really seen much of Euripe other than during business trips, and then it would just be the larger cities... ah hold on, you!"

We catch Fleur by the braid at the back of her head when she starts walking off towards a nearby food stand.

"Gya!?" - she stops cold and turns her head around to look at us with a miserable 'hungry puppy' look in her eyes.

"You... if i remember right, all your needs are taken care off while in the [Menagerie], aren't they? So you cannot possibly be hungry, not really..."
"Uuuuh...." - look of 'im soooo hungry' + puppy eyes

Alright, let's buy a snack for everyone... one, two, three, four... a full party is six people so why am I counting 9,,,?

Sykia, Fleur, Tanis, Fleur, Miel II, Fleur, Tien, Fleur, and ourselves,

S-should I be impressed about her growing decoys at the tip of her hair vines, or should I admonish her for trying to deceive us?

I mean, it is fairly impressive. The copies look just like the real thing. I'm not sure if it even counts as a cloning technique or a mirror image skill/spell or what, since they're still linked to her through the vines...

Aahh... I want to praise her for getting a new skill, but I am less than happy with her use for it.

>Reward her with the extra food. Its a show of intelligence and we want her to be smart
>Karate chop the copies to show that she's not fooling us, then give her an extra serving anyway

This quest is like an old school zombie, it moves incredibly slowly and it won't die even though it's been dead for years. Shit goes live and there are 3-5 small updates before it goes dead, all of which take an incredible length of time to happen. Few anons participate anymore, looking through the archives indicates that this was not always the case.

To be honest. I think its a comfortably sloow quest. Also, IIRC, many players commented in a form or another, eventually "I liked the thread and am going to start my own using it as a reference." A few asked for the system pdf so they could use it as a base

And so, we're following behind a tiptoeing Fleur as she follows a wall of plant hydra-like monsters that are walking (wading?) sho9ulder-to-shoulder down the hallway.

She's a level 320 Thorny Demoness Queen. and her minions are level 80 Ancient Shambling Hydras. Each of them has a solid body made by coiled trunks and vines, covered in finger-long thorns, with 'necks' that are long, sinuous and thick vines with large man-eating jaws at the end of each.

Each hydra has 9 heads, so with 8 of them, the sight that greets any monster unfortunate enough to pop in their path is a wall of 72 giant green, puple and neon pink maws coming for them.

Yeah, pink. They're still rather pretty and colorful, you know?

The level 80 hydras simply pick up the level 40~ dungeon monsters into their jaws and begin eating them alive. I can tell that Fleur is 'eating by proxy' somehow just based on how her eyes are all glassy and foggy right now. She's basically exstatic right now.

Anyway, we're busily picking up the loot that the monsters drop once they 'poof' in her vines' clutches.

...yeah, I noticed. There's never any edible loot left. She's quietly keeping those for herself and eating them right away.

Well, my right eye already kicked the bucket, and right now I see as if through a thin layer of milk, but thanfully I can still read on 4chan thanks to the 'Tomorrow' style.

Can't read normal paper or the typical white screen w/ blact text, though, so I installed a google add on to reverse colors in other sites. I'd like to use fireforx instead but the plug in for firefox is terrible, utter garbage that asks me to manually click in each thing I want to change the colors of, and then select the new color, which as you could imagine is a retarded pain in the ass.

As for the quest, its not so much about controlling the world as about stopping a extradimensional invasion.

*sigh* This gluttonous plant.

"Fleur." - we call over to her
"...?" - she turns around towards us with a smile

I can't get mad at her when she's all cute like this, but I can't be lax on her training either.

"You are getting more than enough to eat, don't eat the drops, alright?" - we let out a deep sigh
"...?" - she leans her head to the side while looking at us

I guess that's too complicated right now. How do I get the message across?

"Ahj!" - she exclaims surprised as we shove our hand into an hydra's mouth.

We reach in for the foodstuff drop, and Fleur quickly freezes the hydras in the spot so we can pull our hand out, looking almost adorably worried.

Well, it was just some [Good][Bacon] after a elite orc died, but its not about its quality or value, its about teaching her.

"You can't eat the loot." - we say as we show her the bacon and rub her head with out other hand - "Understand?"
"Hhh..." - she pouts and tries to reach for it

We lift it, and she walks over and tries standing on her toes to reach for it while complaining softly.

"No, Fleur, yhou're already eating the bodies, aren't you? You have to give me the drops."
"..." - she inflates her cute cheeks as she looks at us
"No." - we very gently flick her forehead and then rub rub her head

She leans her head down slightly and looks up at us...

"That's a good girl. Don't eat the drops, alright?"
"Ah..." - she gives it a last try, reaching up all of a sudden as she stands on the tips of her toes, even lifting a foot off the ground as she tries to reach up, but our height difference is too much for her.
"I'll let you eat something tasty later."
"Oh-khay." - she says softly

Ah, this is the first time she's tries to properly speak.

Her voice is... uhmm... I guess I should call it soft? Its somewhat as if you blew through a nicely tuned wooden instrument

"Alright. Don't eat the drops, okay?"
"Oh-khay..."
"Good girl"

She smiles and closes her eyes as we pet pet her head.

And thus, we restart our march forward.

Well, our group continues its pleasurable stro- I mean, farming work in the low levels of the dungeons, though you may as well call it bullying, I guess.

Well, everything is relative. After all, the drops are not that valuable and the exp isnt much when you consider our levels, but since we're the only ones getting it (the pets calculate their own exp separately and don't substract from the party exp, which means we're basically getting all of it), it still stacks rather quickly.

Uhm.. I wonder if it would be better to quickly get the exp from trash mobs or if it is better to get more tasty exp and drops at a lower pace...

Well, I suposse the only real diference from a practical point of view is the loot quality. From the point of view of whats more interesting... most people hate grinding, though.

Fortunately, this world's [System] does not seem to reduce drops based on your level, so farming is indeed possible. Well, if it did, only low level people would ever be able to get [Fresh Egg] from the typical foodgeon first floor chickens, after all.

Anyway, the end result of this dungeon run was only 75 gold pieces, but selling all the loot would give up easily twice as much.

In a sense, I think that the most important part was Fñeur's growth as well as Sykia's levels going up, though.

Alright, now let's go back and pick up Lyann, though we'll be cutting it rather short so we may not have enough time to dine with everyone at home before we go.

***

And so, it came out to the current situation, where Zpe is pouting as we smooch her forehead before leaving.

Dad on the other side ruffled our hair, and both our mothers gave us care packages to deliver to both Stella and Alard.

Well, we stored them in Lyann's [Item Box] without checking the contents, anyway.

"Take care of everyone, okay?" - we tell Zoe after we smooch her forehead
"Uuuh... why wasn't I invited... I'd like to see sis too..."

Hm.. certainly, in a sense, they were 'born together' since they've been together for as long as Zoe remembers, right? Zoe is the responsible and cool-headed little sister type, but I guess it would be normal for her to want to see her big sister, after all.

>>Ah, once we anchor the ship to spend the night, we can [Treestride] home and pick her up.

Well, its not as if we were planning on flying non stop. We'll properly stop at night, though we can't leave the ship alone in the middle of nowhere all night, so we can't come back to sleep at home, but making short trips through [Treestride] should be alright.

"Hm. Let's see... I can just come pick you up when we are arriving, though?"
"Eeeh~ but, it sounds like I could sleep with big brother and big sister on the ship. It sounds really fun~."
"Is that so? The cabin isn't very big at all, though?"
"It sounds fun..." - she is holding her shamm hands as fists in front of herself as she shakes them softly for emphasis
"Alright, but ..." - we look at our moms for help
"As long as you bring her back for school in the morning, I think its fine? You haven't been sleeping at home so she's been feeling lonely." - mom

I guess we're doing this, then.

"Alright, but you need to bring your pajama and your uniform so we can [Treestride] you straight to school afterwards."
"Yes! Big brother, I love- ah, I'm so happy." - she says with a slightly blushed face.

Picking up Grumnir and Miiyau, we head over to the city's rockitship docks and board our personal ship, then start heading north east in a straight line,

"It really is quite nyace." - says Miiyau with her eyes almost closed as she enjoys the breeze on her face
"Is it? It feels quite solid, but aren't we floating in mid air!?" - Grumnir is grabbing the ship's rails so hard that he's likely to imprint his fingerprints into the wood.

"It is quite safe. It was a countryman of you that came up with it in the first place." - we comment
"Oh, so its a dwarven tool? That is quite reassuring." - he releases his grip a little and seems more comfortable now

Well, since we at least have two small cabins (the ship is meant as a personal one after all, so one was originally meant as a cargo hold), we can spend the night onboard, though we'll need to take turns on the bathroom.

We'll be taking our meals on the deck, by the way. Also, we're taking turns cooking for everyone.

"Anyway, we'll take turns steering, so boss, lets go to the cockpit so you can learn to do so." - we suggest to Grumnir and we make our way together so Lyann can teach him how to steer the ship first

"I'm going to unpack our stuff, nya~" - Miiyau heads to their cabin with their bags and suitcases

Uhm, is it so much stuff that they couldn't carry it all in their [Item Box]? I guess they're packing quite a bit.

Well, there's quite a bit of sound insolation in our cabin, so there wouldnt be any noise leaking at night, and while I think it would have been kind of fun doing lewd things with our lovely redhead in a tight space, we're having Zoe join us tonight, so lets drop those plans.

Alright apparently cant link to other posts, nor can I post images, so let's go slowly.

Our cute pets are out of their armored harnesses, and happily wearing their recreation/rest d clothes, which at the moment means a small dress of soft wool with a turtle neck that leaves their backs open so that their wings and tails (the ones that have one, that is) can poke through with zero trouble.(1)

Tien is leaning over the rail surrounding the deck, looking down at the far away ground in a good mood, enjoying the feeling of the wind on her hair.

Well, she's leaning out so far that she's on the tip of her toes, but even if she DID fall, she would doubtlessly be alright since... wings.

Tanis on the other side, is sitting across from us, her arms spread apart and resting on the smooth wooden rails, a leg crossed over the other as she looks to the side and to ground over her shoulders with a relaxed expression.

"This is quite a nice way to travel, Master. Will we use it much from now on?" - she asks
"Ideally, no, but we don't have any [Treestride] destination where we are going, so we're going to create one with the little sapling in the cockpit."
"I see... such a pity."

"Ah... I-i don't really mind, not at all!" - says Miel II as she looks down at our shirt while cuddling into our arms and sitting on our lap.

Right, honey faeries don't really like high spots, as they dont normally fly higher than a few meters over the flowers they love so much.

Well, its fine. She's super cute as she clings to us as firmly as she can, sinking her pretty head against us while the breeze plays with her honey-colored hair.

"Pet... pet." - we call her gently
"Uhhh~"
"It's alright, it's quite safe."
"Uuuh~"

Come think about it, calling her Miel is somewhat inconvenient when her mother is around, and still somewhat awkward if we call her Miel II all the time. Perhaps we should give her a new name?

Well we're still tied, I see.

By the way, I was doing the timeline, and Stella is almost 11 but Zoe is barely 8. Just throwing that out there.

6 years old - meet Lyann (12 years old) at Albion
8 years old - buy/free Zoe, rescue Stella
14 years old, now

So, Stella, that was 4, is now 10 (almost 11)
Zoe is barely a couple months over 8.

Athena is 10
The twins are 6
...I fear I'm forgetting a little brother's name, but he would be 5

Portia is 6 btw

Non-lewd time with our Pets feeding them different and exotic foods.

"Alright now. Aaahn" - we say as we hold our cute faery on our lap and gently rub her lower back
"A-aaahnn.." - she replies softly

We feed her one of Zoe and Athena's home-made cookies. It was made with high class ingredients, you know? It is crunchy and delicious.

"Hnnmm..." - ah, she's chocking a little bit. Well, it is very delicious, but on the dry side of things, after all

Let's have her drink a bit of milk. Mouth to mouth, of course

"Hn!?" - she blushes brightly, but relazed into the kiss

That's a good, cute pet.

"Eh... Master, Tien wants cookies, too!" - the blue haired dragon pulls up against our side

Master is a little sad about you asking for cookies instead of kisses, you know? Well, I guess she's still young enough to prioritize treats, but still... its a little lonely

"Yes, yes. Aaahn"
"Aaaah...!" - she happily chomps on the cookie with her pearly white teeth

"Yes, a name for playing with Master!"

"Uuuh..." - she pouts a little, but cheers up when we play with her.

After a while, Lyann comes out, having left Grumnir at the helm.

"Eldric, do you want to eat yet?" - she asks as she grabs Tien and replaces her on our lap.

"Eh... not fair." - Tien
"There, there." - Lyann rubs Tien's head until she cheers up
"Is a bit early. Don't you want to eat with Zoe?"
"Well, I-"

Before she can finish her phrase, though, a large shadow passes over us. Looking up, a massive blue and yellow dragon is beginning to turn and head towards us.

[Ancient Dragon][lvl 540]

Oh, its a [Field Boss]. As far as dragons go, this one is pretty much the highest level we've seen outside a dungeon (where we've seen dragons of up to level 550).

Well, even if its level is not the highest we've seen, these are less than ideal conditions to fight it, as we're in a small boat high in the sky, allowing it to attack us from any angle at will.

"Eh... how daring, to dare and attack our master's ship." - says Tanis as she looks at it.

Uhmm... Tanis is 575, and Tien is 325 now.

"Boss, take care of the ship!" - we cry as we grab Lyann by the wrist and jump overboard

Our friends rush to the wooden rail to see us fly off on top of Radiant.

"Those kids. It sure is nice to be young, eh?"
"Nya! We have our job too, you nyaw? We can't let that thing hit us."
"Hmph, I don't even like this boat that much."
"Then, I'm drivine, nya!"

I wonder why is it that I can easily imagine Miiyau going 'Nyyyaaaaaahahahaha!' as I see the ship starting to make sharp turns in every direction.

I can also imagine Grumnir throwing out all sort of amazing dwarven cuss words, by the way.

"What are we doing with it? Aren't we just shooing it away?" - Asks Lyann as she immediately sends her light dress into her [Item Box] and starts struggling to equip her battle dress while making her best effort not to fall off the saddle.

Its convenient that we can send things into the [Item Box] at anytime, but its a bit of an issue that we can't have them equip themselves just as fast.

As for us, well, I'm fairly confidant that our stats have passed right over our gear's long ago. Well, maybe if we were wearing the family's full armor set, but as it stands, it doesn't really makes much difference.

Well, its fine. She's a dancer anyway.

As Radiant flies over the ancient dragon, we wait for Tanis and Tien to tackle it for a moment so it stays in place.

Tien bomb dives it, but the dragon easily spins in place, and smacks her with its tail, further sending her off with a shower of its breath weapon, a green flame that seems to stick unto Tien's body.

"I can't devide if I should thank you for showing her not to dive against another dragon, or make you eat your tail for that." - says Tanis as she transforms back into her dragon form and rams into the green/yellow dragon from the side

They roar as they claw, slam and bite at each other, their breath weapons leaving trails of red gold and green fire as they go.

...should we call it cute and colorful? Its definitively unique. Tien's coloration, that is. I am unsure on wether to call it black on yellow or viceversa, but it somehow fits her pretty well, giving off a fun and youthful look.

Anyway, she jumps on top of Tanis and the wild dragon, and helps grapple with it... though she's not really hurting it.

She's just trying to grab it.

Well, she's basically a baby, so you can't expect her to know how to fight (as a dragon).

"Don't bite mother!" - ah, she got angry and bit at the green/yellow dragon, nevermind

The problem is, they're spinning and wrestling in mid air, so its hard to find the chance to jump in and help.

Then they separate at the same time, and that's it.

We jump down and sink our sword in the dragon's back (but not the spine), causing it to cry out in pain as we use the sword as a spike to hold on to its body.

The dragon starts spinning in mid air, but we manage to hold on until...

Our blow slices off the dragon's claw, yet we are hurled back several dozen feet, bouncing off against the ground and trees before stopping.

As we sit up, somewhat dazed, we get to see a blur of bright red movement landong on the dragon with all the gentleness of a missile as Lyann does a dynamic entry kick against the dragon, ignoring the chunk of damage she doubtlessly took jumping off from Radiant as soon as she saw us getting hit.

Ah, I've never been so grateful for the weird and sometimes silly laws of this world, since by all rights she should have died or at least ruptured several organs and broken most bones in her body by doing such a thing. Instead, she 'only' took a blow equal to 80% of her maximum hp...

Through our slave/master link (courtesy of her collar), we can tell her hp is going down rather quickly.

Even if she out-levels the dragon by about 50 levels, she's unarmored, specced as a caster/buffer, and fighting a [Boss] by herself (which would already by a very tough fight for a full party of 6).

It doesn't looks like she cares, though, since she keeps just running up and hitting the dragon each chance she gets. At least she's using her spear now.

"Lyann, step bacl!" - we cry as we run in and try to get in front of her

Honestly, it was the right choice because Lyann has a LOT more mp than hp, and now it would have been overkill as it would have dealt 9x times her current hp and one-shot her

We would have ended pretty bad too

***

We raise a barrier, and the [Aldritch Breath] blows against it as if it was a tide of green and purple breaking against a rock, its splash jumping to the sides, missing it just barely.

"Eldric, are you alright?" - Seeing us up, Lyann immediately starts using a [Healing Song]

Its effect gives you [Regeneration], healing 10% of our max hp each turn.

Honestly, its a good thing she finally went into support mode (as we were on the way now) since while we took just a bit of damage, she was pretty much with a foot on the grave until a moment ago.

"Hm... I'm not really sure I get it, but I support momma!"

Ah, Tien is a good girl. I wonder where did she got that from, considering Tanis is just a slutty dragon... nevermind, it must be inheritance from Mei Mei, right? I mean, Miel II

Anyway, Lyann looks pretty tired, though her [Regeneration] buff will have her back to 100% in a minute or so (since each round lasts aproximately 6 seconds and the spell heals 10% max hp per round). Anyway, lets pick her up and kiss her.

"Eldric, what are you doing?!" - she complains softly as we bite her lips non-too-gentky
"You scared me, you idiot. Idiot Lyann." - we say as we bite at her neck and shoulders, leaving bite marks all over her gorgeous, glowing-like skin
"Hey! That hurts!? S-stop it!"
"Nope. Don't do it again." - we reply as we bite her right breast, firmly enough to leave a visible bite mark on her
