The harpy and Jo continue to bicker on... Internally you chide yourself for referring to her as The Harpy instead of the name you just learned, Stella for her part seems totally without fear from the amazonian blonde or her greatsword. Hell the giant seems to be the one on the losing side of this shouting match, much to your dismay.

With a placating gesture you step between the two; "Stellavaraniscous, I am Purps. I do not think you are a nerd, it is nice to meet you." A bit of a cordial introduction, but the monotone and air of authority you carry seems to do enough to diffuse the situaiton. Jo looks pleased as Stella puffs up in annoyance.

"Well... It's nice to meet you too, you... Purple person!" She points at you as if she has delivered some great nickname uupon you. Crossing your arms yo just let your silent lack of amusement wash over her.

"Oooh burn Stellavaraniscous." Jo teases, pking the tiny girl's ribs.

> [FRUSTRATION] Let's just get our Dorm assignments already. I'm tired of this.

you don't even break stride, simply lengthening it to catch to the white haired girl who is trying not to be caught looking at you for some reason. Instead of tip toeing around the situation and awkwardly teasing the conversation and making her feel at ease - you stay true to yourself and just ask; "So why are you pretending not to look at me?"

For what it's worth the smaller girl has the decency to pretend to be surprised, stuttering. "I-I'm not? I was just looking around..."

"At me?" You deadpan. "Five times?"

"Yes." Both of you stare silently and the group of first years around you seem totally oblivious to this staredown. Good thing you didn't make it awkward right?

"Seriously. Why are you looking at me?" You demand, placing a hand on your hip. "Do I know you?"

"No... I just know you..." She fidgets, "Well know OF you anyway... Kinda."

You frown at this, "I'm sorry. Maybe I'll know you by name?"

"No..." She sighs in frustration. "You won't know me... I was at one of the siren shows."

You brighten up a little but lower your voice conspiratorially. "What's your name?"

"I'm Freyja... I was at Godswatch visiting my Papa." She admits... Huh, a Cadalonian child of a solider. No weird history or tragic backstory there at all. None whatsoever... Instead of verbalising your sarcastic thoughts you just give her a well practiced and slightly less unsettling smile.

"I'm-"

"Purps. I know." She cuts you off, but... it doesn't seem rude or anything just confirming she's aware of it.

"You know, it's polite to let people introduce themselves." You chide, before offering her your hand. "It's nice to meet you though."

The younger girl takes it in both hands and pumps it up and down; "It's nice to meet you too! I hope we share a dorm so we can hang out and talk about all the songs and-"

"Well thank you for not making a big deal out of it." You look at the girl's face, it's filled with a strange mix of amdiration and pride. She's... easy to open up to; "Believe it or not, I had to be forced into it for a job. Really glad I did it though."

She chews that over, giving you a brief bit of silence on the walk. Well, a lull in your conversation at least, everyone else is continuing to be the super loud group of school girls and boys that they are. "Why would you have to be forced into it?" Freyja asks after weighing up the decision to pry, "Surely everyone wants to be a popular star?"

Thankfully your natural impassive expression hides your surprise; "That's quite a sheltered worldview Freyja. Lots of people would rather not be famous, or the centre of attention. There's a lot of people who want peace and solitude."

Again you see Freyja absorb the information greedily and practically witness her reaching the decision to ask another question, "But... you said you were glad you did it. So, you're not one of those people."

There's a confusing mix of Pride, Shame, Guilt and Frustration at that answer... You definently get the impression that some of your past yous are waging a war somewhere deep inside you over the many reactions to that question you'd have had across your five hundred plus years of existense..."I guess I'm not."

"Then.... why did you enjoy it?" Freyja asks... Causing your eyes to widen. You were trying to stop this pointless introspection damn it. And now you just have someone forcing it on you?

You give Freyja an intense look, "I do not want to answer that. It is quite rude for a fir-"

"Alright everyone we've arrived!" Bella announces form the front of the line. She beams while the other Dormitory leaders look either bored or suicidal. Her energy is clearly liquid in nature, judging by the rosy cheeks and flash being stowed away in either an inside pocket or her generous cleavage. You're standing in front of a what seems to be an impossible hallway, as from your limited internal maps you should have been heading towards the front of the building; instead you're looking at an almost treelike amount of branching paths, stairs included that hint about yet more avenues.

"I take it you've never even dealt with spacial extension magic." A cold voice declares from behind you. Just quiet enough that it stays between you, "How I'm supposed to see rabble like you all as potential assets or rivals is beyond me."

Turning slightly, you see the white haired boy Chiron smashed into the floor is the one badmouthing everyone. Apparently the lesson did not sink in to the know it all rich kid; what's more. His expression is just daring you to dispute i, not out of malice - but like he is simply stating a fact.

He thinks his being better than you is an indisputable fact?

> [PRIDE] This magic is used to make my home fit inside a wagon.

You size him up and down very obviously, "This magic is used to make my home fit inside a wagon." Is all that needs to be said, for some reason the correction seems to irritate him more than any amount of verbal or physical lashing could. His swollen jaw locks, the boy gritting his teeth.

"I would urge you not to ever deign to correct me again you scullery maid." He warns, the crowd around you seeming to sense the discord. "You don't realise who I am. You do not realise just what I am capable of. With a word I could have you scubbing the floors, flogged or even warming my bed!"

There's movement in the corner of your eye, which is stopped suddenly as Honamurei runs into Maria of Darna of all people. Just as you are about to burn this fucking academy around the cannibal scum; she speaks into your lover's ear and you witness something pass between them... Where Hona's muscles were beginning to bulge, there is suddenly calm on her face. Enough for her to feign interest in the reading of Dorm placements... she is looking over her shoulder to see how you react.

Jo and Stella both step closer, the larger looking ready to rip the kid's head off. Stella simply looks worried for you, perhaps she knows something about this cocky little shit you don't?

> [PRIDE] So do it. Seduce me, Beat me, Have me punished. Fucking Try me.

> [DETERMINATION] No you couldn't. We're judged by our actions here, not blood.

You sneer, a very rarely used condescending aura coming over you. "Well if your name is all that you can offer." Sarcasm overcomes you, "It's such a shame that you'll never touch this."

A few giggles and laughs ripple through the thinning crowd, though the boy standing opposite to you seems death to the world. "I'll show you the difference in class between us..." He vows with fiery eyes. "I'll show a world beyond what you can even imagine you diesease ridden skank..."

"Honestly, you won't show me a thing. Because a self important, attention seeking fool is so beneath my notice." You turn around and step past the last few scattered onlookers back into the crowd just in time because;

"And Female group five under my care - Purps, Jo,Stellavaraniscous -"

"It's Stella!" The girl protests, her anger making her wings flutter and carry her above the crowd.

"Yes.. Purps, Jo, Stella, Cellahad and Maria." Bella reads out. "everyone move aside and let the girls through."

As the crowd parts and the weight of your stomach triples you can't help but catch Honamurei's gaze. She looks heartbroken at something, but the crowd is draging her away from you and forcing you into the open.

Stepping forward, little flashes of worry are strangled and smothered in your mind as you head towards Bella. Hona's discomfort with this place, Maria's attendance, Lex's almost disapearance, Hona's eye still not being fixed...

There's a lot of uncertainty and worrying circumstance right now. But this place is an opportunity for you, to improve and learn. This is where you become the warrior and person you need to be, a crucible for you to emerge from as a whole new person.

Someone who won't fail her loved ones anymore.

Stepping forwar you feel a hearty slap on your back as Jo warmly smiles down at you, "Well it looks like we got our wish eh?"

For what it's worth you give her a nod in return, looking and not finding Honamurei. Surprisingly next to comment is Maria, "Well I spose sharing a room with you, will just make the moment ah redeem or slay ye much more dramatic."

Bella just laughs, the sheepgirl smelling like a dwarvern kitchen as she turns on a dime. "It's good to see you're familiar with some of your dorm mates." She claps, totally ignorant of the tension in the air, "Since you girls are my last wards for the day; I'll escort you personally. Please feel free to ask any questions."

Trundling along behind her your hands find their way to their pockets as The red haired girl... Cellahad chats away to your Dorm Overseer. This leaves you, Maria, Stella and Jo lingering behind. Your fellow Minervan seems blisfully ignorant of Maria's affiliation for now, Stella only picking up on your dislike of the Tiny girl and her bulky metallic arms.

When you speak up, you speak with grave importance and very well buried venom; "I wouldn't be so happy back there Jo. We've been paired with exactly the person you talked about earlier."

Polite conversation behind you ends, even Cellahad is stunned into silence by the soul crushing tension trailing the group. As Bella considers intervening the red haired girl shakily asks about inviting guests over to take her mind off it.

Jo speaks up as if not believeing; "She's-"

"I worship the Queen of Night and Guardian of mortals." Maria answers, not seeming to care, "Unless you're a sunslave like Purps here, I don't seem why ye would care."

"So you have history with Purps?" Stella asks very loudly, in an attempt to cut through the conversation. The harpy has also bodily put herself right next to the girl, giving warning glares to you and Jo.

Maria grins and throws a metal arm around Stella, treating her like an old friend; "Yeah. See I'm the Champion Of Darna, so I'm the hero-"

"Yes. Tell us how great a hero you are." You interject. Jo and Stella look on with worry. Turning around you stand with fists shaking as you do your best not to listen to the voices in your head demanding murder. "Tell us of the slaughter at Mido. Or what your Godess did to her own followers at Rono Pass. Sing songs of great rapes and people feasts." You take a step closer and glare deep into Maria's eyes, "Tell them how heroic and noble it was having your people kill a nine year old boy."

Minerva... I'm sorry but I can't right now. I can't put Hona's eye at risk. As soon as we're out of here. She dies. You say all of this to her while not even averting your gaze from Maria's, both of your noses touching as you challenge her.

"Fucking tell them." You growl as Bella moves to intercede.

"The followers of my Godess are aligned with the rebellion." Maria says, more to you than the gathered audience, "The rebel leaders wanted to attack Mido fer reasons not relevant to this story. During that battle, a massive amount of damage happened. Includin' the death of someone dear t' Purps." She tilts up her chin in defiance, "An I had nothin' to do with it."

"See, she had nothing to do with it Purps!" Stella begs, her hand digging into your bicep, "Let's all just get upstairs and ready for b-"

Jo bodily picks the harpy up, leaving your limbs free should battle occur, it occurs to you that the collateral damage of this kind of fight will destroy whatever spacial magic allows this impossible arhcitecture to exist. "Stella. Darnites are liars, heathens who eat people. They sow twisted curses, devestate any non believers and hunt starborn down. It wouldn't surprise me if she killed this kid with her own black hands."

"Well I think we shou-"

"Darna didn't kill yer boy." Maria spits. "Darna doesn't force the flesh gift either!" She looks furious, "Lemme tell you somethin' your Godmother and my Godess might have a feud that outdates us - but I will never let you besmirch her Sunslut."

Jo bristles but you hold up a hand; a cold certainty stretching across you. Maria barrels through, "We both know that humans, starborn or anyone else ain't perfect. We both know our patrons aren't pictures of perfection as close as we think they are..." She leans in conspiratorially, "Who holds the reins of a God?"

"I see that as usualy my sight has led me to where I need to be." A ethereal voice that could only belong to the headmistress announces. "Purps, Maria. Stay if you don't mind." It is not a suggestion, but an extra sentence is added. "Bella, please make sure the other girls are calm and abed."

She sends your friends and Cellahad scurrying away with a suddenly sober Sheepwoman. Neither of you have stepped back from your staredown. "You both have guests. Both of you will follow right now. I would also caution you. If the two of you do not bury this feud I shall bury both of you in my garden." For some reason instead of the words kill, expel, murder or punish she chose that...

The specific nature of that threat lands flush, because how powerful would The Academy Headmistress be?

Begrudgingly you take a step back and breath out. You're going to be meeting some important people, Lancel is one who you're sure of... But something tells you it'll be more than one guest. "Maria." The headmistress cuts through your internal musings, leaving you too just count to ten in your head. "If you would follow this light it will lead you to your caller." A small white orb floats in front of Maria, heading off with Maria reluctantly following it.

The air is thick, with both tension and silence. Headmistress Thorindel simply stares at you just as impassively as you stare at her; the glowing ivory eyes seem to look at and inside you. "It took great restraint not to attack her." She states, "I appreciate your adherence to the Academy Principles and look forward to seeing how you use this opportunity."

"Thank you." You say with an small inclination of your head. For the slight fraction of a second you see her face, you can tell she's amused at the gesture. "As much as I like gardens, I don't want to be planted."

A short laugh, very haughty and dignified causes you to look back up. "Well, I suppose you will have to wait to see it." She agrees, "Now, you have two meetings. But your first awaits you in the second door on the left." Headmistress Thorindel indicates a direction, another of her little lights appearing outside it. "Be sure to remember your manners." It sounds like genuine advice rather than chiding in her strange echoey tone, "He stands very much on ceremony."

Without further ado the Headmistress retreats, leaving you to approach the door with caution. As you lay your hand on the sparkling bronze, pressure weighs down upon you. This is your first step into the world of politics... When you step through that door, some important figure is going to want to size you up at best and at worse press gang you into service or mark you for death.

However, inside the room you find a set of armour and gigantic tower shield resting against the wall as a man with greying hair chops vegetables. At the sound of the door opening he turns, immediately dropping to a knee upon realisation of your identity.

"Ah Miss Lexington. Allow me to introduce myself... I am Quan godfrey de Monfort. Anvil of the Shining Waters. [THE WARRIOR] and Commander of all Republican forces." He inclines his head after delivering his tirade.

> [CURIOSITY] Miss Lexington?

"I am the saviour of Grinnsmon. [THE PURPLE FIREFLY], Dragonslayer, the Siren of Fire and Chosen of Minerva." You stand before the kneeling Knight, towering over him with all the grace and majesty of a forgotten noble upbringing. Your voice holds weight and power, "I am the Daughter of Vernon [THE SAGE], I carry his Archmage blood and am Darna's bane."

"It is an honour to meet you." He says, slamming his fist into his breast. "Your accomplishments are heard."

"As are yours. Ser Monfort." You say, offering your hand to help him rise. The man takes it and his weight nearly offsets your balance, whether it is your weak leg or seemingly impossible amounts of muscle beneath the studded leather he still wears is unclear. But it still requires a little effort to hide behind a backwards step and slight curtsey.

"I must say, I have been quite looking forward to meeting you. But please take a seat, I was preparing a snack since I missed the staff meal." He gestures to the vegetables and pot hanging over the fire. Apparently Quan has opted for the old fashioned way, despite the incredibly cutting edge magitech cooking device nearby.

"I would be delighted to eat with you Ser Monfort." You say, taking a seat at the table and crossing your hands in your lap. Here you sit with one of the strongest Loyalists in the world, preparing to eat a homemade meal without so much a butter knife on you for self defense.

If he turns and whips that knife at you, catching it out of thin air is an option; but if you instead go over it, activate lantern and explode it - he would be without room to dodge which would allow you

"How are you adapting to Academy life thus far? I have never heard an ill word about this institution nor the educators." His laugh sounds like a giant gasping for breath, the little fire behind him flickering just from the air he displaces. "As I am not an ex student myself, I always ask those I meet."

> How are you enjoying the academy life thus far? Be as detailed as possible, I will try to incorporate every vote.

You pase and consider the question as Ser Monfort transfers the vegetables to the now boiling water over the tiny fire. Making small hmms as you turn over the myriad of experiences, "Well. I haven't been here very long. In that time I have been impressed with both the facilities and staff. So many varied and different people - yet the city and school itself both run like a well oiled machine."

"But there are aspects you find less appealing Miss Lexington?" Ser Monfort adds, sensing more to the story from your phrasing. His interjection causes you to lean on your hand at the table.

"Well, my only problem is the fact that this neutral area is a true neutral area. The fact that outside disputes can't be brought here does serve me well in some regards... But it has led to a crazy first day; I'm not sure I'm comfortable studying and sleeping in the same building as old enemies."

He lets out a soft noise of contemplation, "It may be presumptious Miss Lexington-"

You groan and affix him with an exasperated look, "Minerva's light call me Purps please."

"Only if you refer to me as Quan." He counters warmly, the knight presenting you with an array of colourful vegetables and fruit, each one having been boiled with spices to produce a mouth watering smell.

"Deal. Now Quan, please continue." The wave of your hand is more imperious than you're comfortable with. But he seems to stand on courtesy despite his personality.

"Well Purps. It sounds to me like a formal atmosphere is something new to you. The way you have spoken about both the positive and negative aspects of this lead me to believe so. I would urge you to be patient and try to make the best of whatever situation ails you." He mutters a slight prayer though you cannot make out the patron before you both politely dig in.

"I will do my best. I am just concerned that I have stumbled into some cheesy school centric novel. No classes have started, yet already there's me having to room share with someone who wants me dead, the scion of a noble house acting pompous and entitled, my partner is acting weird... And I have to tolerate it because despite finding a fellow Sunsister, I need to stay enrolled until said Partner's eye is fixed." Your voice is even throughout, even if vocalising it all makes you realise how complicated a simple situation had suddenly got.

"Well, I would be lying if I said the personalities of the mighty even out with age Purps." Quan says sagely, "Part of what makes the students here the top picks; are those dynamic personalities that drive starborn and non starborn to new heights. Beneath the eccentricities, I'm sure you'll find relatable and intriguing individuals." He blows on a spoonful of his vegetables softly.

"For a career soldier. You are very diplomatic." You remark in surprise not realising how insulting it sounded.

The man laughs however again however, disturbing your hair with it's force. "Well, let this be your first lesson. Nobody desires peace more than the man on the front... Any career soldier will tell you that." He looks like his mind is elsewhere, "If every diplomat was a veteran, the world would be a better place."

A slight glow forms around you. Thankfully, the sunlight is enough of a cover for it, "Sometimes conflict is inevitable Quan. It happens throughout history. We should strive to avoid it where possible, but it will always exist in some form."

He smiles at you, "I suppose you are correct Purps. But is it so bad to wish for a world where I cook and pray - instead of killing?"

"No. No it isn't." You concede with a smile, noting how he absentmindedly runs his thumb over a small locket on his neck. "As much as I am enjoying the pleasantries, I think we should go to the matter hand."

Ser Monfort slowly finishes his last mouthful, savouring every bite. The man then stacks your plates then moves them to the side. The friendliness on his face is diminished, but does not disappear when he leans forward, "IT has become known to The Republic that you are no fan of the Darite portion of the rebllion. Even if you do not have a political stake in the ongoing conflict due to... Mental reasons." He sees you bristle at the implication and raises a hand, "I beg forgiveness, but I am but a messenger. My Lord, The Senator of Munis has deigned to make you an offer; should you be willing to retake your old rank until such point as the rebellion has been put down..."

The pause leaves you frustrated and it shows in your tone, "Don't leave me waiting Quan." You snap, "What is he offering."

"He offers to tell you who you really are and will leverage all the resources at his disposal to restore to you the birthright you so richly deserve." Quan interlocks his fingers and lays his hands on the table patiently. No doubt having expected the offer to shock you to your core and leave you dumbstruck.

Though you are shocked, the revelations do not show on your face as you have regressed into your basic state. It was indeed surprising news, to think that you had been noticed by The Senator. Moreso that he considered you a potential asset... And again that he had worked out your lack of memory. So much in this offer is unnervingly accurate to you... You held a rank? The memory you posess of childhood lead you to believe you were a noble, but a Birthright? Actual resources devoted to your own goals...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. A good opportunity to really sock it to the Darnites. So I think the sunslut in us would lean toward this offer. Also if we were a sneaky bitch we might take the opportunity to be less of a tall nail.
But all that shit with lorelei was on his orders right? And as someone who suffers from memory loss, who walks the world with part of themselves missing, I don't think we would tolerate working with him.
Also it sounds like bullshit. He won't give us what we deserve, restore our birthright, he'll just use us.

"Please Purps, I bid thee to share your thoughts. This is the a decision of great import and I would rather hear your thinking one way or the other." Quan implore, leaning back in his chair. It is difficult to ignore the complaints of the wood.

"It is difficult to do so, but I shall try to verbalise the many thoughts I have." You reply carefully, placing your hands over one another and exhaling slowly, "It is strange to even recieve such an offer. Nevermind the fact it did not come from the man himself. Other oddities include; no mention of what said rank is, where I would be deployed, who I would answer to, what is my birthright. A lot of questions in short."

"I can only say now that you would answer to me as every other solider does." The knight lets out a sensible chortle, "I do not however have your enlistment details nor your proper name Purps. I am sorry I have little to offer this day save for the offer itself."

His efforts gift him a slight smile as you continue, "Furthermore, what is the catch? Because on top of the further information I need; I need some kind of assurance that this offer will be honoured. I need assurance that I'm not going to end up like many others loyal to the Republic and knifed once their uselessness has expired." The words from Zelam's journal and the limited phantom images of that night flash before your eyes and harden your voice, "The words have been very pretty Quan. In fact your company has been delightful. But you're asking me to surrender my freedom and liberty, for a very ill defined reward from a source who has less than trustworthy history."

The proclamation results in a rather tense silence and instead of any shame or anger you see that Ser Monfort is musing on what you have said. As he ponders you continue, "As appealing as removing the blight of Darna with the full might of the republic sounds... I need to make sure I am stable and proper first. Your Senator has my word I will continue waging my own campaign against the Darnites, but should the loyalists make themselves hostile... I will defend myself as I have done before."

Quan leans forward and steeples his fingers, "All very understandable points." He admits, "I would like to refute a few if you'll indulge me."

"It would be rude of me to refuse, you did listen to my rambling after all." As you settle in, Quan launches into his own speil.

"I don't know what experiences you have had with the Republic. I will not vouch for the reliability of any individual person within the vast system, as it's vastness gives rise to individual errors and abuses. Whatever corruptions or travesties have been witnessed or visited upon you are not to be ignored or taken lightly Purps. So caution is wise." The man deigns to look out the window at Minerva as she sets, "Should you come into the fold, I will source a communication stone for you to break at any time you feel you need to. The stone would go direct to me, regardless of time. And would go through no official channels. Should anyone deign to make an attempt on your life or other such unpleasentries; you have my word I will bring the fury of Meridas upon them. Post haste."

"In regards to following up on our promises. I as a Knight of Mun do solemnly give my oath to honour the terms of this agreement to the limits of my power. Else my honours be stricken and sullied forever more, as my name is drowned neath the shame in my blood." His face is a stone and he meets your deadpan gaze. More than that, something about him overpowers your offsetting staring, forcing you into discomfort.

"While I have no clue what your name is as of this moment and no information on what your rightful rank or brithright entails, nor even the deployment you will be facing. I can reassure you this offer was made with your current personal issues in mind. The time limit on this offer is four hundred and sixteen days from now; an exact year."

"So essentially I don't have to make this choice until I graduate." You respond... feeling a little overwhelmed by Quan's intensity.

"Indeed. I suspect I will be visiting between now and then. But I will not hear your final answer until after the graduation ceremony." He grins, "So I can try to have more information for you by then, despite how secretive my Lord is."

"Of course Quan. I wont begrudge you an opinion." You tell him, his bid having stopped you from rising from the chair.

"Since being given this message I have done my research on you Purps. The passion and drive that you have displayed to those you care for are outstanding, your power may be incredible; but the willingness to stand firm in the face of hardship and evil... Well those would make you a credit to the Republic." He looks as if he's unsure whether to continue, his followup losing it's gravitas, "You've made a reputation for yourself; The Saviour of Grinnsmon? A Siren? If you were seen under Republican banners and leading the charge against the worst of the worst?"

Seeing someone so powerful and well respected look at you like this; pleading like you were the only one with the ability to aid him, is an odd sensation. "I think your cooperation would frighten those corrupt within the system and inspire those with evidence to speak out. With you, we could crush the enemies within and without. Turn the Republic into a Utopia..."

Quan sounds wistful as he trails off...

> [PRIDE] There's nothing I can't do Quan. With an army the little shreds of doubt would fall away. It isn't a question of what I could do or the people I could help. The question is if The Republic are the right people to do it for.

"Thank you for the faith in me." You say quietly, standing up and heading to the door. In the threshold you find yourself lingering, "Sometimes I look around and see a lot of uncertainty, so it's comforting to know someone thinks I can overcome it all." Quan is treated to your most dazzling smile, "I will think about your offer."

He closes his eyes, suddenly looking a lot older as you close the door and turn - chest to face with the headmistress. Her gaze is enough to make you jump, almost colliding with the now closed door in an effort not to have her head buried in your chest.

"That was quite the illuminating conversation." She says, lightly making a reassuring gesture to soothe you. "Perhaps the next one will be just as intriguing hm?"

"I'm glad I could entertain you headmistress." Though it sounds snarky you meant it as a honest comment. The more the headmistress likes you the quicker she'll get off her ass and fix Honamurei's eye already.

"Well, I can say that it was extremely illuminating; were it a test of judgement or character you'd have passed with flying colours Purps." She is very complimentary, giving you a gesture to fall in line with her as she heads for a door across the hall.

"Was this some kind of test?" You ask as you seem to be spiralling downwards.

"No. Everything was genuine and honest. Ser Monfort is perhaps the most honest man on the continent, so I think it is nigh impossible he came to harm you. As such I let him make his offer."

"Under strict supervision?" You ask.

"Purps. I am the Headmistress of this academy, previously I was the Mistress of Magic." *She looks over her shoulder, sidestepping a low hanging lantern without looking as she stares through you hard enough that your heart seems to ache slightly* "There is not a damn thing on this campus I am blind to."

Suddenly you both emerge into another corridor. By your internal map you should be four floors down and stepping into the spine of the staircase, but through the door you see a luxury piano of whitewood. The song played is a lilting, lovely melody that reminds you of chasing Honamurei through the trees of Tinton. In fact you can practically hear her laugh and feel the wind in your face as the Headmistress ushers you towards him.

"I will leave you to your meeting." She says softly, "I must attend to your friend's eye." Her smile is strained, "Lord Carlisle."

The music, stops on a discordant note as the lithe, almost feline man stops suddenly and rises in almost jarring haste. Before you he stands like a taut as a spring, walking around the piano. His dark purple eyes lock onto yours; his gaze is nothing but analytical and stern. The purpls hair tied back into a ponytail is an exact shade of your own.

Standing before you is Lancel Carlisle; [THE DRAGON OF DREAMS], One of the Seven Divine Generals and the sole leader of The Rebellion. The same man who your dreams claim killed you once before your memories truly began. Where Quan was polite and formal, with a warm voice - he tightens his gloves. The man gestures to the small table that's been set up with a two person teaset, "Take a seat. I have a proposition that would benefit you."

>I think your cooperation would frighten those corrupt within the system and inspire those with evidence to speak out. With you, we could crush the enemies within and without. Turn the Republic into a Utopia...
Well that's interesting. I'm still not convinced he isn't a little naive but he certainly seems to be annoyed at someone. I think we need to talk to Lex about whether we could achieve anything useful from the inside.

>I must attend to your friend's eye.
Yay! Oh wait, is she lying to him? I'm assuming she's hanging around to keep watch again.

"Well then, since we've met before I assume we don't need introductions. In fact I hope your business is as pretty as your paino playing." You take a seat on the opposite side of the table, sizing him up and staring callously as you pointedly ignore the teacup. Lancel sits opposite you and pours himself a cup, the almost black liquid leaks steam until the rebel leader take a long deep drink from the cup.

The two of you share a moment, each of you calculating and searching like card sharks. The spell of silence is broken by you nodding at him.

"I will be brief." He snaps, his teacup colliding harshly with it's plate, "I know exactly who you are. I need you to help me kill the Senator."

"Explain." The tone is cutting and sharp, your lack of patience showing, "Because that's quite an alarming statement. Why do you think you can even get one of us close? Why can't you and the other six divine generals handle one man? What in Minerva's light do you know that I don't?"

"I know a great deal that you don't. But I am afraid I won't be sharing any plans of such a critical nature without your guarenteed participation." He takes another long sip from his cup, outside in Academy City prevening is rapidly closing in towards night. As the hustle and bustle of the term begining traffic recedes; before being replaced by the night life traffic as sure as the tide comes in and out, "The offer is simple. All of the information I have on you, in exchange for joining the team. Myself, the other divine generals. Maria, yourself and one person you trust enough to come with. That's the deal, one job then you can go back to hating us again."

Something about the sip of tea he takes radiates smugness and you find yourself gripping the table as he closes his eyes in appreciation of the brew.

He stares at you."The plan will take sometime to setup, so what do you say?"

Thread is archived. It'll be a couple of days before I can do a proper run as I'm travelling across the country for a midweek weekend away with Mrs Star. Thank you all for your support; this thread has been fun to wirte and I've enjoyed reminding Purps that the outside world has noticed her.

I'd be careful not to assume these are offering the same thing. There's a lot of differences in what each side would expect; there is also no need to agree to either. Just consider the ramifications of everything said.

I'll be around to do some Q&A in thread, twatter and discord. You know which one of you anons I love?

I feel like at this point the Senator is more of an abstract wrong than the Darnites who this guy is proposing we work with with a straight face. Also as nice as it would be to learn more about who we were we fine with who we are.

You realize I have no reason to believe that you have any proof to back up your statement right? I'd be relaying I'm 'your word alone of all things and I don't think your word is worth much if anything
