You are Ebon-Fang, a young, unblooded Yautja, and today is the day of your blooding, the greatest test you have ever faced. This day you will win the trophies which prove you are worthy of the rank Clan Hunter, or die in the attempt.

Rising from your bed, you mentally prepare yourself for the coming trial.

>[A] - An unknown number of Black Beasts have been released into the jungle to serve as your quarry. You will be dropped into the jungle alone, with the task to claim as many trophies as you can, and escape alive.

>[B] - You will be attached to a veteran hunting team which has been ordered to track down and eliminate a renegade group of Yautja pirates. You know going into battle armed with only net, hide, and blade will be perilous against fully armed and armored foes.

>[A] - An unknown number of Black Beasts have been released into the jungle to serve as your quarry. You will be dropped into the jungle alone, with the task to claim as many trophies as you can, and escape alive.

Your trial is one many unblooded take, with mixed success. While sometimes at the dojo you see the faces of former fellow students who have faced the Hard-Meat alone, there are many who went off to their bloodings you never saw again.

You approach your armor rack and put on your ceremonial light armor, armor only in name, not fit to deflect a blow. Nothing but netting covers your chest, while hide pauldrons, greaves, and leather boots protect the rest of your body. At least you will not be weighed down.

You make your way to the dojo solemly. This is not like the normal days when you go to train.

The setting sun shines in your eyes as you approach the training grounds of the dojo. Your mentor Burning-Spear is there alone, putting everything into its proper place after a full day of training students. You think of your own training, and where you most shined, as you approach him.

>[A] - Your strength, size, and resilience made you a fearsome opponent in the duels which formed a large part of your training. Sometimes, your fellow sucklings would attempt to block your imminent blows, only for them to break their weapons and bring them crashing down to the ground. You remember how you won the mock gladiatorial games at your dojo, your face and body bruised and from all the blows you had weathered. Your injuries did not stop you from claiming victory. You also remember how the few times your mentor allowed you to train with heavy weaponry at the shooting grounds you handled them more easily than your fellow students.

>[B] - Your agility, speed, and reflexes were shocking in the duels which formed a large part of your training, where more often than not you blocked or evaded the attacks of your opponents. When they attempted to do the same and block a blow aimed at their head, they suddenly found themselves struck in the gut. You remember the marksmanship contest which you won. You did not miss a single reflex disc with your plasma caster even as they moved by you incredibly quickly.

>[C] - Your cunning and perception were noticeable in the duels which formed a large part of your training. It seemed that for each opponent you faced, you were able to find the weak spots in their fighting styles, which you then exploited to win. You remember how you staged a masterful ambush of the enemy team during a game of Seize-The-Elder, where most of the enemy was disabled by your wire triggered traps, lying battered on the ground after being stricken by a log and wretching in disgust after being splattered with foul-smelling fruit. After you found the Elder had escaped, you managed to see what others could not and track him down.

You remember the moment fondly as you approach and your mentor looks your way.

"Ebon-Fang."

You kneel reflexively before your mentor. On the ground it becomes obvious just how large of a Yautja he is in comparison to you. He is made to seem even larger by the heavy armor he wears, which you recognize as a powered actuator model. Heavy plates cover him totally from the head down, concealing his many scars, but his face is visible, and still, to you, a fearsome sight. His left eye is missing; a quarter of his face had been melted to the bone by a half-grazing plasma bolt, and the scars remain, with the dreadlocks there fused together. His age is obvious on his face, long spines on his forehead where the skin hasn't been sloughed off. You wonder how he is still able to move so swiftly in his armor. You know that he has had its actuators removed.

"Soon, you won't have to kneel. You'll either be a Hunter, or you'll be dead, and neither do any kneeling, not to me anyway."

He looks away wistfully, before looking back at you. He stares.

"I've lost two students in the past month to the black beasts. They did not remember that their trials were not just duels or tournaments. You will have to track them, silently, if you hope to fight less than a horde. You will have to escape the rest, attracted by the clamor, after you've claimed your trophies. I expect you will not make the same mistakes as your brothers who came before you."

"Now rise! I will sponsor your ascension, as we had agreed. Rise and choose your weapon."

You rise, and he leads you to the nearby armor rack, where you choose:

[A] - Wrist-Blades: These standard, partly retractable wristblades are swift weapons, but they have poor reach.

[B] - Combi-Stick: This double sided telescopic spear is a powerful weapon with a large reach, but can become unwieldy in extremely close quarters.

[C] - Melee Disc: A larger version of the reflex disc, without tracking or flight systems. It can be thrown or used in melee.

>[C] - Melee Disc: A larger version of the reflex disc, without tracking or flight systems. It can be thrown or used in melee.

You grab the disc with both hands, taking care not to touch its razor-sharp edge. You hear your mentor speak.

"A surprising choice. Don't miss, and don't use it as a ranged weapon when there is more than one foe. Weaponless, you will not win against them."

You grunt in acknowledgment.

"You enter the jungle through the air, dropped from my ship. A chute will aid your descent."

As he says this he takes out and shows you a map.

"The drop point is here, and the extraction point is here, and it is the only place of refuge in the vicinity. There is only one extraction point. You must be there before twenty-four hours have passed after your drop, or I will leave. This is practically a failure, though I suppose you could still succeed if you made the two week long trek to the dojo with all your trophies, a very difficult task."

"I understand."

"Good. Now, follow me to my hangar."

You strap the disc to your armor and follow him to the hangar. It does not fit in with the rest of the dojo, being made of expensive and sturdy metal in an industrial fashion, while the rest of the dojo is made of wood, and with a traditional primitive architecture. As he leads you inside you see the ship. You see it is an extremely high quality, medium sized vessel.

"This is the Ghost-Eel, aptly named. I will have it in stealth mode as we approach, to not alert your quarry."

You enter the ship, don your chute, and strap into one of the seats near the back, as your mentor makes his way to the pilot room and seals himself off. You hear the roar of the engines as the ship takes off.

After an hour in flight you hear your mentor on the intercom, rousing you.

"Thirty seconds until drop. Drop when the light turns green. Be at the extraction point in twenty-four hours."

You notice the sound of the engine has dulled. Cold air fills the cabin as the ramp retracts. The light turns green. You jump, and begin your dive towards the ground.

As you descend further you see ground, and decide where to attempt your landing.

>[B] - A dense forested area, likely the closest to the hard meat, but a difficult landing. (DC: Medium)
>Rolled 20 vs DC of 11. Critical success!

Despite the difficulty the dense jungle forest poses, you decide to make your landing there.

You fall at terminal velocity. The biting wind chills your body and assaults your eyes as you strain to see a good spot for landing. You detect a location in the forest which seems more level and less dense than the surrounding area, but only barely.

You angle your body, bringing you closer to your chosen landing spot. The ground is fast approaching. Finally, you pull the chord and your chute is released. You feel a great pull as the chute expands and slows your descent. You feel confident that none of the beasts will see your approach with the dense overgrowth blocking their view.

You sail through the sky towards a small gap in the overgrowth, with all your mind focused on the landing, when you see it. Somehow, through small gaps in the dense foliage, not far past where you intend to land, you spot a black beast. Its back faces you, and it seems to be digging. You remember this behavior is typical of the castes found in hives, the builder castes, and recall your mentor's warning to avoid their extremely corrosive acidic spittle.

You decide to:

>[A] - Sail as close as you can, directly above the beast, and unlatch your chute harness, dropping on top of the beast to kill it in one blow with your melee disc. You recognize that missing the beast could leave you open to its retaliating strike. (DC: Very Hard)
>[B] - Sail nearby to throw your disc at the beast before unlatching your chute harness to drop down into the tree branches, climbing down to finish it off. You recognize that missing the beast will leave you without a weapon. (DC: Hard)
>[C] - Make a landing in your planned location, and head towards the beast. While there is a chance that the beast could run off, you are confident it will not spot your landing, and knowing its current position will make tracking it easier later. There is no reason to risk a bold attack. (DC for Landing: Automatic Success | QM rolls to determine if beast moves)

Going with C. Expect next update no earlier than 5 I've got some things to take care of. Should have uninterrupted time soon.

You decide it is wiser to land and make your approach on foot, rather than risk a bold aerial attack. After all, there could be other nearby hardmeat concealed by the foliage you have not seen through.

The last light of day disappears as you descend through the small gap in the overgrowth. You are surprised you managed to spot the beast in such dark conditions. While it hardens your landing, you are careful to ensure it is silent by unlatching your harness before it has a chance to catch the nearby branches. You hit the ground with a painful thud as you roll forwards to dissipate the energy. After checking your surroundings for any sign of alarmed beasts, you make your way to the one you saw.

The jungle is dense, and there is little wind, so the bushes and branches which surround you are still. You carefully choose your steps to maintain stealth as you continue onward.

As you approach where you remember the beast being, you hear the sound of digging. You realize it hasn't moved. Moving forwards, you finally get a close look at the beast. You notice it is making a tunnel. It is of middling size, for hardmeat, almost exactly your own height. Its long tail tapers into a sharp edge. It is no praetor, but it is no runty runner either. It is an honorable first kill.

You hear the dripping of its saliva as it continues to dig, and you decide how to kill the beast.

>Rolled 17 vs DC of 13. Success.

You creep forwards towards the beast as you draw your melee disc from your belt with your right hand. You are lucky that the ground in front of which it digs is mostly clear of bushes and twigs.

You draw closer. The creature is so focused on digging a hole into the hill in front of it that it does not notice your approach. The sound of the digging also drowns out the already small sound of your footsteps.

Its tail is outstretched, used to maintain the beast's balance. It is an easy target.

You thrust your right foot forward, assuming a low frontal stance that brings you to the side of its tail as you swing your disc towards its base. It reacts, but too slowly. You cleanly cut through the base of its tail and it goes uselessly thrashing on the ground. You grit your fang as some of the acidic blood splashes on your leg and arm. The beast screeches and turns to swipe at you with its left claw. You hope you can end the fight before it attracts the attention of nearby hardmeat.

You notice it is slightly off balance as it has lost its tail. You quickly decide your next move:

>[A] - Swing your disc back the way it came to chop off its left claw. (DC: Medium)
>[B] - Duck under its swipe and thrust into the beast's body with your shoulder, taking advantage of its lack of balance to push it prone into the hole it was digging, where it will be at a further disadvantage in the fight. (DC: Medium)
>[C] - Swing your disc into its neck to decapitate before it can hit you to end the fight before it attracts more black beasts. (DC: Hard)

>NOTE: Each post after this one, not including this one, I will roll to see if the fighting has attracted xenomorphs, and if so, how many. The longer the fight goes on the more likely xenos will be alerted.

This will also limit other Hardmeat seeing it and dampen the noise. If they hear scuffling thats fine because it is mean to be digging after all.

Once its in there it will be forced to turn its head to strike us. Perfect for decapitation and body hiding

You aggressively push your body forward with your right leg, slamming your left shoulder into its mass before it can hit you.

Due to its unstable stance, it falls over onto its back into the incomplete tunnel entrance which it has dug. You think to yourself that it would be fitting for the beast to have dug its own grave.

It screeches as it begins to right itself in preparation for its next attack. Until then, it is vulnerable.

You decide to:

[A] Throw your disk towards its neck at close range to decapitate it and end the fight. (DC: Medium)
[B] Join it in the pit as you pounce, swiping outwards with your disc to decapitate it. (DC: Medium-Hard)

Before it can fully stand you leap into the pit. You prepare your arm to deal the beast its deathblow.

You reach it when it is still rising. With a screech, it attempts to deter you with a swipe from its claws, but the atttack is too weak and too late.

Gravity is on your side as you collide with the monster. Your left hand flattens the beast, pushing it downwards from just under its neck, as your right extends outward swiftly just above it. In one quick stroke you chop through the beasts neck, cutting off its head. Your blade cuts through and hits the earth just as you and the beast do.

You push yourself up from the ground. The beast is dead. Your first kill. Now, you will have your first trophy.

You choose:
>[A] - The head of the beast. While it is the most striking trophy, it is a rather annoying weight on your belt, and enough trophies of this kind will impede movement.
>[B] - The tip of the beasts tail. While it is less striking than the head, it is not by much, and less of a hindrance.
>[C] - The teeth of the beast. While it is not a very impressive trophy, it is entirely unencumbering.

Before you take your trophy you take a moment to listen to your surroundings.

It is our first Kill and we only need this one really. Then get moving, maybe cause the tunnel to fall in so that it looks like the tunnel collapsed to the other beasts.

>[A] - The head of the beast. While it is the most striking trophy, it is a rather annoying weight on your belt, and enough trophies of this kind will impede movement.

You listen to your surroundings before taking your trophy. All you hear is the faint rustle of leaves, and sometimes, the chirping of birds. Did you really manage to dispatch the beast without alerting its brethren?

You pick up the beasts head and stare at its lifeless eyes as the acidic blood drips from its neck, causing the ground to smoke. Even dead, it seems to stare back at you with the malice it had for you in life.

You attach the trophy to your belt, and climb out of the pit. As you crouch outside the pit, you consider your next move:

>[A] - One trophy is enough. You will make your way to the extraction point, secure in the knowledge that you will be achieve the status of Hunter.

>[B] - You will seek out more trophies. The greatest warriors of your clan never returned with merely one trophy.

I don't know. I still haven't figured out what Ebon-Fang's family situation is going to be like, what clan he belongs to, and what the plot after the completion of the trial will be.

1) Investigate possible new hunting grounds
2) Join a team in hunting down some escaped hard meat
3) Go for a Hunt in an Earth warzone (like Predator 1 and

5) asset recovery
6) Some sorta Safari with some older Preds
7) Track some Humans whom are near X and ensure they don't recover it, make it look like an accident
8) Pick off some High Value Targets from X force
9) Cleanse a nest/contain and outbreak with others

>[B] - You will seek out more trophies. The greatest warriors of your clan never returned with merely one trophy.

You decide that you cannot be proud of only one trophy.

You look at the beast's corpse inside of the pit. This tunnel has been barely begun.

You wonder if it was intended as the exit for another tunnel deeper in the forest. That would explain why the beast was alone, with no nearby hardmeat to hear the sound of your struggle.

After remembering the map your mentor showed you, you decide to:

>[A] - Head straight to the center of the forest in search of prey. You assume as you head deeper into the forest the density of the beasts will increase.
>[B] - Head south-west towards the river, which you assume is the main source of water for the animals which your prey subsists on.

You decide on the path that will leave you closer to the extraction point, and hopefully, lead you to the beasts who will be hunting their own quarry.

Before leaving, you throw the beasts tail into the pit and heave just enough dirt from the pile near it inside to cover the beast's corpse so it is concealed.

You head southwest towards the river. You feel that ground becomes more damp as you approach. When you reach the river, you decide to head south, not straying far from it. You notice piranhas swimming in the water.

Warily, you continue onwards for a time, hoping to find some sign of the beasts. You know that without a mask the beasts have better low-light vision than you. Additionally, their thick carapace reduces the infrared radiation they emit, which makes them difficult to spot.

You are careful to avoid what you recognize as a Xin'gin plant along your path. You know that stepping on the plant's roots will unleash a spore cloud which could overwhelm your senses and leave you dazed and blinded. You pass the plant and continue your trek.

Suddenly, you hear a roar. It does not sound like the roar of your prey, but that of a sloth bear native to these jungles. Two different screeches follow the roar, those of your prey. You understand that they must be hunting the bear. As you run to where you heard the sound, you easily see the heat of the bear even through the dense jungle.

It is running towards the river, trying to escape its pursuers. You see it clearly as it approaches the river. It stops before it falls into the water, perhaps fearing the piranha infested waters more than the beasts, and turns around to make its last stand. You see the black beasts approach the bear with its back to the water. Two of them.

They pace menacingly back and forth at a distance from the bear. You recognize them as hunters, a dangerous warrior caste. While only slightly taller than the worker drone you faced, their stockiness reveals a greater power, along with their longer, thicker tails and larger jaws. You know it is a far stronger and more dextrous foe.

You are surprised the hardmeat on this island have developed enough to evolve warriors like this. You understand this means you arrived late in the lifetime of this trial ground. Soon, the island will be cleansed by fully armed warriors before the hardmeat can evolve praetorians, or even a queen.

The bear stands and roars, trying to scare the beasts off, but it only provokes them. The closest beast to the bear pounces, turning into a blur as it collides into the bear, shredding its chest and biting into its neck as both fall into the river, out of your sight due to your distance and the slightly elevated ground. You know the bear is doomed. Soon, the beast will climb out of the water with its carcass to feast.

The beast which remains on land trots up to the bank of the river and sits, eagerly waiting for its next meal to be dragged up from the water.

>Rolled 14 vs DC of 15. Failure.

You draw your disc as you begin to sneak towards the beast.

It continues to stare eagerly into the river at the carcass of the bear.

With trained steps you creep closer. You hope the sound of the river is enough to drown out the sound of your footsteps.

You repeat the attack that took off the worker drone's tail, hoping it will succeed a second time.

You thrust your right foot forward as you swing towards the middle of its tail, the base being too wide and distant for you to easily cut through, but this beast is not a weak worker drone, with dull senses and a mind distracted by digging. It hears your attack and reacts swiftly, jumping to the left and turning simultaneously to see its new assailant.

In your peripheral vision you see the carcass of the bear floating towards the bank. You doubt you will have time for more than two exchanges with your lone prey before you will be fighting two.

Saliva drips from its mouth as it opens its monstrous jaw and screams, before pouncing towards you as it brother did to the bear, all four claws raised and ready to rend your flesh.

You decide to:
[A] - Roll out of the way and run towards the Xin'gin plant you noticed earlier. (DC: Medium-Hard)
[B] - Meet the full force of its pounce, bringing your disc into its head with a downward strike to stop its attack. (DC: Hard)

>[B] - Meet the full force of its pounce, bringing your disc into its head with a downward strike to stop its attack. (DC: Hard)
>Rolled 16 vs DC 16. Success.

Though the beast leaps at you with incredible speed, you manage to prepare your attack before it has reached you.

With a mighty swing you bring your disc down with perfect timing as the beast flies towards you. Totally committed to its course, it cannot move out of the way, and its speed just makes your strike more powerful.

Just before your disc hits the hard carapace to carve through the center of its brain, a sure kill, the surprised beast manages to avoid death by angling its head away from your disc.

You feel a terrible force and hear its scream as the beast collides with your disc and the off-center blow shears through its thick carapace and skull. The force pushes you backwards with your boots tearing a track through the ground as your disc continues to carve through, taking some of its brains and its left eye with it, exiting just above the top of its mouth, the side of its skull slipping to the ground like a peel of fruit.

You almost stumble as you continue to absorb what force remains from its pounce until you are no longer pushed backwards. Its tail grazes your shoulder, tearing off most of your hide pauldron as you push the beast forward to the ground.

The beast lands weakly, righting itself as fast as its can, but from its trembling its apparent you've dealt it a severe blow.

You notice in your peripheral vision the bear carcass has almost reached the bank. You hope the sound of the river obscures the fight from the senses of other nearby hardmeat.

The beast roars in defiance as it walks weakly toward you, with more brains slipping from its skull. It sways as it runs to swipe at you with its claws.

Short session 6pm EST today.

Alright some meta stuff. I might alter the system and give it some degree of success elements on occasion.

I feel like the fight against this hunter was too easy and I did not properly represent the difficulty. Ebon-Fang should not have escaped from that clash totally unscathed so I am going to do a small retcon and give him some minor wounds, just so he and you know the risks of these fights. Additionally I will be rolling for detection at the start of conflicts from now on, instead of the 2nd post of conflicts. The difficulty of this trial has been too easy and at odds with how your mentor described it.

I will warn you that each time you are detected, there will be a rise in the number of beasts you might face to represent how more are attracted. While the first time I might roll 1d3 to determine how many come, the 2nd it will be 1d6, third 2d5, and so on. Something like that anyway. I will also roll to see what castes they come from. Remember, you have only fought 1v1 so far. It will be hard for you to win in fair fights 2v1 and 3v1 unless you are fighting the weakest castes.

I will try not to do these in the future and maintain a good balance of fairness, difficulty, and believability on the fly as I keep running. It is mostly the latter that has influenced me. It is not believable to me that Ebon-Fang would be able to fully stop its pounce without it clawing his arms, not without an additional degree off success anyway, which in my mind will be 2 above the DC, so 18, in that vote. I will note during the voting if the options have degrees of success and what the consequences for minor vs major success are.

I'll give you some insight into how I am doing random encounters.
>>2279089
>>2279080
There, the first was for what you would encounter. 1 was for encountering a dead Yautja with a weapon. If that had won I would have proceeded to roll for what weapon the Yautja was found with. 2 was for being ambushed by xenos. The chance is higher than it otherwise would be because it is nighttime. 3 was for what happened.

Then I rolled to see what castes you would find. 1 was for two runners, which are basically almost dog-looking fast, fragile scout type aliens that always fight on all fours. 2 was for three runners. 3 was for one hunter. 4 was for two hunters.

If you've ever played SS13 Colonial Marines you'll notice I'm taking some inspiration from that when it comes to castes. I'm not gonna be copying it letter to letter but I might take more inspiration from how they represent aliens.
>>
>>2288402
And to answer your question:
>>2278268
No, not anytime soon, anyway. Maybe if this actually takes off, I get good, and we get to like thread 40 I'd feel like I could bring them into the story (which I'm still pondering). To keep that option open I will not bring you to places where Three-Claw had an impact, so, you'll be from a different planet and will not be visiting Pandora. No Night-Prowlers, Fire-Forges, Cloud-Vipers, etc. I'm doing enough pandering, not gonna do full-blown fan-fiction of fan-fiction yet.

And if I can't get to thread 40 due to whatever reason I'll make sure to let you know. If I just disappear you can assume I died.

Now, to begin the session. Will need some time for the newest update.

>>2288407

Bit of a shame. An entire planet to use, so we could have done stuff not connected to old Pred Quest. Oh well.

Are you planning to use/accepting recommendations for other world from movies/books/games?

Because there are plenty of Death Worlds from fiction that could be fun to Hunt on.
>>
>>2288436
Simple. We find a time machine and start hunting Terminators.
>>
>>2288463
If we visit Earth, I hear they have this island, Isla Sorna, with some great hunting.

Or this planet with three suns, where it's daylight on the surface almost constantly, but there's vicious prey underground.

Or there's a cluster populated by giant bugs. They colonise other worlds by hurling their spores into space.

Sorry for the wait. First the retcon.
>[B] - Meet the full force of its pounce, bringing your disc into its head with a downward strike to stop its attack. You know it would be a devastating blow if it managed to land, but doubt you would come out of the clash entirely unscathed. (DC: Hard to succeed in the attack but take damage in the clash | DC: Very Hard to succeed in the attack and take no damage)
>Rolled 16 vs DC (16, 18). Minor Success.

Though the beast leaps at you with incredible speed, you manage to prepare your attack before it has reached you.

With a mighty swing you bring your disc down with perfect timing as the beast flies towards you. Totally committed to its course, it cannot move out of the way, and its speed just makes your strike more powerful.

You almost stumble as you continue to absorb what force remains from its pounce until you are no longer pushed backwards. Its tail grazes your shoulder, tearing off most of your hide pauldron but missing the skin, and its hind claws painfully shred your leather bracers and the flesh below as you push the beast forward to the ground with a roar of pain, cutting almost to the bone.

Flourescent blood flows down your arm, dripping off your elbow to the ground as you prepare to counter its attack.

You decide to:

>[C] Slice through the beasts neck with your disc to decapitate it, taking its head as a trophy so you can make your escape before you have to fight the hardmeat in the river and others that might approach. (DC: Medium-Hard)
>Rolled 13 vs DC of 13. Success.

It slowly swipes at your face with its right claw. You lean back just outside of its reach to avoid its attack as you bring your disc around to make a killing stroke.

It still hasn't recovered from your attack as you swing your disc at its neck from the left. It snarls as its one good eye sees your blade approach, and you chop roughly through its thick neck, hearing a crunch as you separate the flesh and bone. You grit your fang as some of the acidic blood gets on your hand, wishing your weapon had a longer blade.

You notice a scratching sound coming from the bank and realize that the beast with the bear is climbing up from the river.

You catch your trophy as it is still falling to the ground, careful not to grip it by its burning wounds, and take off northwards into a sprint, hoping the other beast will prefer the bear to your trail. It will be some time until the acidic blood congeals and you can safely tie the head to your trophy belt.

You arrive at the Xin'Gin plant, fatigued and panting. You detect no sign of any pursuers, so you take a moment to examine your trophy.

By now the blood has congealed, and it has ceased its dripping. Even the wound you dealt to its skull has seemed to seal, no longer in danger of expelling more brain matter. You have no doubt that if the beast had survived it would have lived on for a number of years, adapting to its injury.

You attach the trophy to your belt and examine your wounds, with them stinging in pain as you take off your bracers. You are lucky that the sides of your arms faced the beast as you pushed it off. It is only the skin that was damaged, even where its claws touched the bone. All of your muscle and major veins remain intact. Though you continue to bleed, it is a wound you can endure and will close with time, even if not attended to, but you tend to it anyways, knowing the scent and trail of your blood will make you easier to find.

You pull out the fabric which you tore from your chute before leaving the site of your fight with the worker drone and bandage your wounds.

You estimate that about five hours has passed since your landing. You don your bracers and decide your next move, feeling slightly fatigued:
>>

I'm not fully committed to hunting for more trophies, but securing the area with traps and resting sounds good.

If another one walks into our traps ... cool, an extra trophy. If nothing comes along, then we've had some rest and can head for the extraction.

>[B] - You will seek out more trophies, with your next move being to secure the surrounding area and sleep for a few hours. You are slightly fatigued and at a disadvantage during the night.

You decide to wait for dawn, where the lack of light and fatigue will not hinder you.

You fashion alarms using vines and Bar'xu fruit which you find growing from the nearby trees. This long fruit makes a distinctive loud sound when cracked open. If anything pulls on the vines, which you have tied through their ends, the sound will alert you.

In a similar way you make a few spike traps which you place around the surrounding area.

You fashion your final trap, making a net of vines to hang a large melon above one of the roots of the Xin'gin plant. If you break the vine, the melon will fall and trigger the plant's defensive response.

Finally, you climb a tree and begin to lightly sleep.

Rolling for encounter.

A few hours later you are roused from your sleep by the light of dawn.

You look around you and see that none of your traps you placed nearby have been triggered.

The jungle is louder than it was before. You hear the chirping of birds more than you did now that it is day.

You estimate that you slept six hours. This means eleven hours has passed since your landing, and you have thirteen hours left to reach the extraction point.

You climb down from your tree and decide to:
>[A] - Head back to the site of your fight with the worker drone, where you will search for its trail.
>[B] - Return to the site of your fight with the hunter, where you will either kill its brother or find its trail.
>[C] - Scout the area west of you to find a route to the extraction point in case you need to make a hasty retreat.
>[D] - Head directly to the center of the jungle in search of prey

>>[C] - Scout the area west of you to find a route to the extraction point in case you need to make a hasty retreat.

You decide to scout the area to the west to see if you can find a good path to the extraction point.

You head directly west towards the river, careful not to trigger any of your own traps or to step on the roots of the Xin'gin.

Your belt sags with the weight of your trophies as you approach the bank of the river and look into the water. The river must be at least twenty meters wide. You notice a huge amount of spine-eater piranhas swimming in the water, creatures with jaws large enough to sever the spine of a full grown Yautja in one bite.

In your peripheral vision you see movement. To your left you see a red-green macaw fly down next to the river, trying to make a landing on the bank opposite you.

Before it lands one of the piranhas jumps out of the water, clamps its jaws onto the bird, and pulls it down into the water. The bird disappears under the water with a shriek and you see a streak of red beginning to form in the water.

Walking north for a bit to further survey the area, you find a large downed tree which has fallen, forming a bridge.

The tree looks rotten and is not wide enough for you to comfortably pass, but there is a chance it could support your weight.

You decide:
>[A] - You have learned enough about the surrounding area. If you need to make a hasty retreat you will either head to this crossing or south, the area you have unexplored.
>If you choose A, also choose one of:
> - Head back to the site of your fight with the worker drone, where you will search for its trail.
>[ii] - Return to the site of your fight with the hunter, where you will either kill its brother or find its trail.

>>[B] - You will head south to scout the tributaries and the highlands in the surrounding area to see if there is a better path.
You decide to scout further south to see if there is a better path. Perhaps the tributaries will be less dangerous to cross.

You begin to move south, not far from the bank of the river. The sound of the wildlife means stealthy movement is easier.

You are careful as you approach the site of your fight with the hunter. Its corpse is just as you left it. You see no sign of the other hunter's presence, or the bears corpse, aside from a few bones which remain from its feast, and a faint blood trail leading east deeper into the jungle.

You note the trail as something you might later follow up on as you continue moving south, noticing that there are less fish in the water than there were further north.

The ground steepens as you approach where the eastmost tributary meets the river. The tributary is far shallower and less wide than the main river the other tributary. You also see no sign of piranhas.

You follow the eastmost tributary for a while longer, looking for a good place to cross. You move at a steep incline.

Finally, you come accross a good spot. You notice many large stones which form a partly submerged bridge in the water.

It's then that you notice you are thirsty. You check your surroundings before lying on the bank and drawing water to your face with your hands.

You are nearly done when you notice a sharp pain in your hand, and blood drips from it as you quickly remove it from the water.

You see no teeth marks. It is not a wound from a bite. Curious, you reach your hand into the water and feel around for what cut you.

You feel a slippery glass-like surface, and pull something triangular out of the water.

It is a spearhead made out of volcanic glass. You wonder how this could be here. As far as you know this island was always uninhabited.

In the distance you hear a bird's call. You look in the direction of the sound, and see a bird perched on an oddly shaped rock above a cave entrance in the distance, in the rocky highlands. The rock almost looks carved.

The wide-spanned bird takes off, and you are reminded of your task.

>Two hours have passed. You have 11 hours before you must reach the extraction point

You decide to:
>A. Head to the center of the jungle in search of prey.
>B. Head to the site of your fight with the hunter and try to track down its brother.
>C. You've had second thoughts. You will head to the extraction point.

Unable to resist your curiosity you resolve to make your way to the cave.

You cringe as your boots loudly splash in the water while you hop across the river on the partly-submerged bridge.

You reach the other side and start your climb westwards. You almost feel naked as you leave the jungle and the thick overgrowth and fiolage ceases to conceal you.

You continue along the rocky paths until you finally approach the place where you saw the bird.

Above the small cave entrance, which you doubt any of your peers would have been able to see, you see where the bird was perched.

It is unmistakably carved. Decorative braids seem to coil around the almost cylindrical rock situated right above the entrance. Right in the center, you see something which makes you shudder. Carved into the stone is the likeness of a Yautja skull.

It almost reminds you of the burial grounds which you've seen in the city. You have no idea how old this place could be.

>A. You decide to enter the cave. You could be the first Yautja inside in who knows how long, and you wonder what treasures and secrets lie within.
>B. You should not disturb this burial ground. Who knows what dangers lie within? You will resume your hunt and forget your discovery. You came here for trophies, not blasted ruins.

>A. You decide to enter the cave. You could be the first Yautja inside in who knows how long, and you wonder what treasures and secrets lie within.

A cold wind blows out from the cave as you stare at the darkness inside.

You make your decision, and begin to walk inside.

The passage within is far wider and longer than you thought from the small entrance. You walk slowly to allow your eyes to adjust to the lack of light, straining your eyes to see any sign of traps, which you know are found in many ancient ruins to deter treasure hunters and grave robbers, but you find none.

You feel a soft breeze as you notice the passage begins to slope downard, coiling around in circles to take you deep into the earth.

Moving onwards for what feels like almost an hour, you see something other than darkness ahead. Above a passageway, there is some kind of artwork. You strain your eyes to see what is depicted in the darkness.

In the beginning, on the left, you see depictions of Yautja. They move in lockstep, holding spears, thrusting them at serpents, lizards, and other beasts you don't recognize. Most of the Yuatja are consumed in by the various beasts, and many that seem to live bear horrible wounds.

Then there is a different scene. Yautja are digging into the ground, trying to unearth something. High in this scene is a Yautja with a headress, the only one. You notice this Yautja wears clothing. All others are naked.

You keep reading this story. Something is unearthed, something radiant which you can't describe. The clothed Yautja holds this radiance in their hand and the light seems to move right into their eyes, the radiance now shining from their headdress.

In the next scene, the clothed Yautja, now looking more powerful, sits on a throne, with a raised hand. It seems to dictate something to others which surround it, and you see they begin some kind of work, striking the earth, building forges, forging weapons and armor.

In the next scene, they march in lockstep again, but this time no one is naked. All the Yautja wear armor and bear sharper weapons. The Yautja with the headdress is in the front, beheading a serpent with a marvelous sword. It is a slaughter of beasts, and they flee, with none of your kin having been harmed or consumed like before.

You move your eyes to the final scene. The Yautja with the headdress holds his hands upward, to the sky, on a star filled night. He is a giant compared to the Yautja which surround him. They climb up his arms, to the stars, wielding weapons and bearing armor, where they slay even larger and more fantastical beasts.

That is the end of the depiction.

Have to write the next post. You'll head deeper into the ruins, sorry for being so slow.
>>
>>2296559
You move further into the ruins, passing under the depiction.

The passage widens. You enter a large chamber. From the stone sarcophagi pressed into the sides of the walls, you realize this is the burial chamber.

In the center of the room, there is a sarcophagus larger than the others.

You approach. On the outside it there is an image of the majestic Yautja from before. They wear a mask, hands clasped together at their chest, holding the hilt of a sword, blade pointing downwards at their toes.

Do you open the sarcophagus?

>>
>>2296615
You look for somewhere to grip the lid of the sarcophagus.

You move to the end, where you imagine the head of the one buried inside is facing, but there is nowhere to place your fingers.

You unlatch your disc from your belt and try to shimmy it in between the lid and the actual sarcophagus. You manage, but your disc almost shatters as you press on it just enough for your fingers to find purchase, and when they do, you feel like they will be crushed.

The lid is tremendously heavy, but with all your strength you manage to heave it up and slide it to the side, hearing the rough sound of stone on stone as the upper half of the body within is exposed.

A metal mask conceals the bony face of what once was a great leader, perhaps the very first leader, but you wonder how that could be possible. Every Yautja knows that it is Yautja Prime that is the homeworld of your people, not Yautja Secunda. Still, you wonder if you should show him more respect.

Setting such thoughts aside, you observe the blade which he holds in his hands. You try to look for something that would trigger a trap, but see nothing.

The sheathe and the hilt of the blade seem to form a perfect seal. You try to grab it by the sheath and remove it from the sarcophagus, but it seems stuck.

You pull on it again and find it still does not move.

Frustrated, you tear away the bony hands and grab the blade by its grip. In one swift movement you unsheathe the sword, and hear a click.

Suddenly you hear a great rumble as the ground beneath you begins to crack. You jump back just as the floor beneath you gives way as the sarcophagus and the ground around it falls into a deep black pit.

There is an tremendous sound as the sarcophagus crashes into the bottom of the pit below. You stare, transfixed and tense, not even conscious of the sword you wield in your hand, until the sound dies down.

Hearing only silence, you let out a breathe in relief. Perhaps you are lucky, and this was the only trap you had to evade.

You have almost turned around completely to head back to the surface while examining your new weapon when you hear a loud growl.

You turn around to stare back into the pit. Suddenly a cacophany of sound assaults you from within. You want to cover your ears as the shrieks of the black beasts overwhelm you. In shock, you see the unmistakable sheen of the black carapace as the beasts begin to crawl up the sides of the pit, towards you. There must be at least a hundred. In the center of the pit, you see the largest beast. A praetorian. Three to four times larger than a Yautja, this caste could cut you in half with one swipe from its claws.

It slowly walks up to the side of the pit and sinks its claws into the side, cracking the stone as it beings to climb up.

Well, even if there were ships, they would know this was a trial ground. They would probably not help you, and if they did, you would fail your trial. There's not supposed to be a praetorian or even this many aliens but rules are rules. They would only open fire if the beasts tried to escape the confines of the trial ground or the higher-ups judged this hunting ground to be out of control and to be purged... which is going to happen soon if anyone hears about the praetorian.

>B. You will run back out the way you came as fast as you can. This is not a fight you can win. (DC: Medium)

You know you can't fight this many beasts. Adrenaline fills your veins as you turn around and sprint up the passageway as fast as you can.

But it is not fast enough. The fastest of the beasts climb out of the pit quickly, and you hear their frenzied movement as they draw closer to you.

With the roar of a hunter, one pounces at you from behind. You try and turn around to defend against its attack but you turn too slowly.

You let out a howl of pain as the beast collides with your back and its four claws rend flesh from bone. You swing your elbow to knock the beast off of you as you stumble, falling onto your back. The pain is agonizing as you slide to a stop on the rough floor which tears into your wounds.

With bleary vision you see the beast prepare to pounce again to finish the job, as a hunter and runner behind it draw nearer eager to get a taste of this wounded prey. The rest seem far behind.

The beast pounces. It is too late to draw your disc or to right yourself. You hope the sheen of your new sword is not just a facade as you prepare your defense:
>A. You will chop off its head before it can reach you. The blade has taken heads before. (DC: Medium)
>B. You will impale the beast on your sword as it pounces towards you, aiming towards its neck. (DC: Easy-Medium)

>Spent Fate Point. Success.

The beast flies towards you with a scream, aiming to tear out your throat as you lie on the ground. You forget the pain as you prepare to defend.

Just before it reaches you, you swing sideways with all your might. The air howls as you see your glinting blade cut through towards your target.

It hits the carapace, and cuts just as cleanly through the flesh and bone of the beast as it did through the air. You cut not only through its neck but also through its outstreched frontal claws, just before they reach your face.

Its head and claws go flying behind you as its bleeding body lands right on you. You roar in pain and anger as the acidic blood drips from its neck onto your chest.

Behind the body of the beast, you see a hunter and runner approach. The laggards cannot be far behind.

You decide to:

>Rolled 1 vs DC 13. Critical Failure.

With a grunt you heave the body of the dead beast off you.

You rise to your feet, trying to ignore the pain of your wounded back, before taking off into a sprint towards the entrance.

Blood flows down your back as you look for any kind of supports which you could destroy to cover your retreat while running towards the entrance. From the increasingly loud sound of the pursuing beasts behind you, you can tell they are getting closer.

You spot a wooden arch, and run to one of the two supports. You try and pull it down, but it resists.

Your efforts are cut short as the two beasts reach you. The hunter in front snarls and pounces at you.

You take a quick step to the side to avoid its flight path, and manage to put a gash into into its shoulder, but while you have avoided its teeth and claws, you have not escaped its tail.

As the beast flies past you, its tail coils around your neck. You are forced backwards by the constricting pull of the tail.

You feel your throat is about to be crushed, and you try to pull the tail off with your hand, but to no avail. You don't even relieve the pressure. The beast behind you draws you into a painful caress as its claws slice your shoulders. You feel its hot breath as it opens its maw, and prepares to bite into your neck.

You see the runner approach you, and prepare to pounce.

Do you:
>A. Stab the beast behind you in the mouth with your sword as it goes in for the kill, while drawing your disc to throw at the runner. (DC: Medium-Hard)
>B. Stab the beast behind you in the mouth with your sword as it goes in for the kill, and attempt to draw your sword in time to slay the runner before it lands an attack. (DC: Hard)

>A. Stab the beast behind you in the mouth with your sword as it goes in for the kill, while drawing your disc to throw at the runner. (DC: Medium-Hard)
>Rolled 18 vs DC 13. Success.

The beast's claws further tear into your shoulders as it moves to end your life.

You thrust your sword backwards and you feel it hit its mark. Its tail slackens as you move to unlatch your disc with your other hand.

The runner in front of you leaps at you, straight at your face, and straight at your disc, which you release in one swift movement.

This is no clean beheading. The disc goes straight into its face, and cuts deep, through the neck and through the torso, almost exiting through its rear alongside its spine.

The already dead beast lands at your feet, having absorbed the full force of your disc, as the beast behind you falls backward to the ground, tail uncoiling.

Blood flows down your back and your arms. Again you hear a cacophany of sound from further down the tunnel. The bulk of the beasts must be drawing near.

What do you do?

>>A. Quickly take your trophies and your disc before sprinting to the exit. (DC: Medium)
>Rolled 12 vs DC 11. Success.

The screams of the beasts grow louder and closer as you lean down to tear your disc from the runner's disgusting, nearly bisected carcass, and cut off the tip of its tail, taking it as a trophy.

You do the same to the dead beast behind you, and take off into a sprint towards the entrance, picking up the claw of the hunter which wounded your back without stopping. Its head would only weigh you down.

Five trophies. You've never heard of anyone claiming that number in their trial, but it will not matter how many trophies you've claimed if you die before leaving this tunnel, or reaching the extraction point.

Your legs burn from the frantic pace of your sprint just as your untreated wounds do. You lose track of time. It is a great test of will to maintain your speed as you run up the circular incline, but you endure, the sound of the beasts behind you impelling you onward. The tunnel almost seems to shake from the impact of the hundreds of claws behind you.

You feel like you're about to vomit when you finally reach the entrance. The sun is far lower in the sky than when you came in. You cannot have more than three, maybe even two hours before your flight out of here will be gone.

The sound behind you grows louder, and you see at least two dozen beasts exit the jungle, running towards you across the rocky soil. It will only be a few minutes before they reach you. You have no time to rest.

>I assume you're going to run straight to the extraction point rather than do something suicidal like charge them. Roll 3 1d20 to see if you make it before any beasts catch up with you.

>Rolled 19. Complete success.

You let out a slow breathe, closing your eyes as you prepare yourself to again push your body to its limits, before running to the extraction point.

You run north-west, climbing and jumping over the rocks which block your path without a second thought, almost in a trance.

You hear the screams of the beasts and a tremendously loud sound of stone shattering far behind you. The large praetorian must have reached the small entrance, and crushed the rock which blocked its path. All the beasts on the island must have heard the sound.

You continue to run, taking a running leap across the second tributary which which you must cross. You almost don't make it, as your chest collides with the bank of the river.

You pull yourself up and resume running towards the extraction point, constantly hearing the calls of the hardmeat behind you.

Finally, you reach a small plateau. You climb up the sides, and reaching the top, you see a ship facing you, but it is not the ship of your mentor, smaller and seemingly less expensive. It is more like a shuttle than a proper ship.

Through the cabin you see the face of your recently blooded fellow student and friend Frost-Mantle. He spots you, and beckons for you to head towards the rear of the ship, hitting something in the cabin. You hear the sound of the ramp opening.

You run to the rear of the ship and inside, hitting a button to close the ramp, before falling to your knees and vomiting on the floor.

You hear a click of amusement as footsteps come from within the ship. Your friend Frost-Mantle approaches you.

"Local cuisine not to your taste? I doubt the feeling is mutual. They seem to have taken quite a few bites out of you." he says, chuckling.

You give no response, remaining hunched over and panting, recovering from your long run.

"And there are many, if my sensors are reliable. It almost looks like a small hive! Follow me to the cabin. We'll take off before they arrive."

With a grunt you rise and follow him. As you walk through the corridors leading to the cabin you notice the ship is far less impressive than your mentor's.

"Take the copilot's seat." He says, as he sits before the main controls.

You oblige, and sit back with a grunt as the chair touches your wounds. You are heedless of the blood which flows from your wounds all over his chair. It is a relief to simply lie back and rest.

You hear the engines ignite as he starts up the ship, and it takes off vertically in the sky.

"Say, you seem the worse for wear. Why don't you man the ship's guns and we give them a proper goodbye?"

Dropped your trip.

Well, when we return we'll have at least a witness as for why several seasoned hunters need to nuke this island right the fuck now instead of later.
>>
>>2301925
Shall I give a spoiler?

It will probably already be nuked by the time you can give any advice, due to the cowardice of the hunter tasked with purging the island, something preparations are already being made for. This way all trace of your discovery disappears, except for your sword. You will forever be one of the only Yautja alive that has any inkling that Yautja Secunda is the homeworld of your people and not Yautja Prime.
>>
>>2301943
>It will probably already be nuked by the time you can give any advice, due to the cowardice of the hunter tasked with purging the island

That seems ... implausible? I mean, their entire civ revolves around proving who has the biggest dick by hunting and killing challenging prey.

One guy not being up for it right now? Okay, yeah. Could happen.

There not being fifty other Hunters lining up to clean out the island? Nope.

"I'll get my chance another time. I did not escape all those beasts just to die to your awful piloting." You say.

You feel the ship lurch as he plots the course which takes you away from the island.

"Hmph. I doubt you will. I've already sent my scans to our mentor. This island is already far outside of the bounds of what is proper for a trial ground. A purge will happen soon. I'm surprised you survived." Frost-Mantle says.

You wonder about your mentor.

"Where is Burning-Spear? I thought he would be recieving me."

"Don't be arrogant. He doesn't waste his time flying his students to and from their trials. That's what I'm for."

"He wasted his time flying me here." You respond.

Frost-Mantle looks at you.

"Did he now? Well, you've always been his favorite."

"I haven't noticed." You respond.

"Not even after he let you begin this trial with two weapons?"

Irritated, you hiss "I only came here with the disc."

"Well, even someone as oblivious as you will notice when you show him your five trophies. That is a number few in the clan have ever matched. Where did you get that sword, by the way?"

You want to respond, but you feel a great fatigue as your eyes involuntary close. You have lost a good deal of blood.

Frost-Mantle notices.

"I have a medical pod in the back, even if it doesn't look like it. You can go use it. We still have two hours of flight.

You decide to:

>A. Use the medical pod and arrive fresh at the training grounds.
>B. Simply bandage yourself using medical tools near the medical pod. (DC: Easy-Medium)
>C. You want your mentor to see your wounds. You will bear them until you reach the training ground and show him your trophies. (DC: Medium-Hard)
>>
>>2302034
>B. Simply bandage yourself using medical tools near the medical pod. (DC: Easy-Medium)
No reason to show off the wounds only the trophies we arrive with
>>
>>2301989
In my mind trial grounds on Yautja Secunda are strictly regulated. There is one group of hunters responsible for both monitoring and purging hunting grounds. If the guy in charge of that group of hunters decides to purge via nuke, those below will not question his orders, and the island is not going to be purged by others seeking glory. Blooded hunters typically seek out new hunting grounds on other planets.

With a grunt of acknowledgement you slowly rise up from your chair, heading to the cabin's exit.

As you exit, you hear the voice of Frost-Mantle.

"Maybe while you are back there you can clean up your mess!" He laughs uproariously.

Shaking your head, you sway as you make your way through the corridors towards the medical bay. Now that all the adrenaline has left you, you feel weak.

You find the door, open it, and enter. It is a small room. There is barely enough room for someone to go inside and slip into the pod.

You go to the side of the pod and open up a medical compartment. You take out a box from inside. Opening it you find a variety of medical tools.

There is not much you can do about the bleeding wounds on your back. You can't reach them to stitch them closed, but you need to slow the bleeding. You stab yourself in the back with a disinfectant hypo and then take a roll of gauze from inside the box and bandage the wounds by wrapping the gauze around your chest and back.

Then you tend to the wounds on your shoulders. You bear the pain as you stitch the largest of the cuts with needle and bio-thread.

When you are finished, you feel you have done a good job, all things considered. While it might be a good idea to visit the medical bay at the city later for a blood transfusion and proper treatment, that can wait.

Do you:

You head back to the cockpit, through the narrow corridors.

You reach the entrance. You press a button on the holopad outside and the door slides open.

"Decided not to use the pod? Shame, I was hoping for some peace and quiet."

Wordlessly you head to the copilot's seat and grimace as you sit back into your blood-covered chair.

He continues to talk. He is a talker.

"We might not be able to see our mentor right after our landing. Apparently, he's been talking to the Matriarch's envoy for the better part of the day."

You nod with half-closed eyes as Frost-Mantle turns to look at your sword, which you've slid through your belt.

"Tell me about your new weapon. It's not something we train with at the dojo. Where did you come across it? Did you find it on the corpse of one of the failures?"

Do you:
>A. Tell him the whole truth. You found it in the sarcophagus of what seemed to be a great leader, in an ancient burial ground.

People who trust you like your mentor might believe you, but pretty soon, the only proof you'll have will be your word and your weapon. You will be considered as either crazy or a liar if people go to check out the area and don't find anything.

It is not something that is going to feature in the plot in the near future, or maybe ever. Maybe later some archaeologist/historian of some kind can examine your weapon and tell you something about it, but the history of your people is largely forgotten, except deep in the archives of the capital on Yautja Prime.

We will be moving on to practical concerns soon. Ebon-Fang's family situation is far different than Three-Claws'. It will be more difficult.
>>
>>2302609
"That's right." you respond curtly.

He chuckles. "An expensive failure, then, to have such a weapon. It's better that it's yours."

You don't pay him much mind as you wearily ponder your discovery.

He notices your reticence, and turns away, looking out of the cockpit at the star-filled night sky as the ship flies to the dojo.

You stare at the stars yourself, and think about the last image in the relief which you found. The leader whose weapon hangs in your belt, raising his arms to the sky, and his people climbing up to kill more beasts.

You think about your trial. Five trophies. You almost died, but won great glory and honor.

You know there is more honor and glory for you to win. Not here, on this old planet, but in the sky. As you doze off, you imagine yourself on his arms, climbing up to slay more beasts with your new sword, fulfilling your own destiny, and your people's.

Maybe next weekend. I'm going to be more busy this week because I have exams the week after, so I won't be able to run many sessions.

But if you'd like I can try to update intermittently without really trying to run "sessions" where I devote a block of time to this, so you have some posts during the week. It will be slow progress, though.

I have to do some brainstorming before the next thread too.

In any case, I'll run again eventually. I'm actually pretty pleased what came out of this. I had nothing planned out aside from the opening post which I wrote basically on a whim after I remembered predquest.
