Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=stranded+mech+quest

Information pastebin: https://pastebin.com/vSXCNHAQ

You are Crew Boss Levi, a mechanic in charge of repairs to Alex's mech. After finally reuniting with Alex, you see he is, in fact, still an idiot. You and your mech ended up somewhere other than outside the backwater base on a polluted world you called home.

(You are also Captain Alex, Proxima Aquarii Federation, 4th Fringe Machine Infantry. When heading to a routine exercise, you were pulled to this world.)

Now you're stuck in a world that's verdant, green, and full of life, where people use 'magic' and gods rule. Naturally, you should be cautious.

You are a mechanic, a skilled civilian who is capable of repairing and piloting mechs to even creating weapons. You pilot the Hummingbird, a swift VTOL with a mech form based around sniping other mechs.

You have recently been summoned by your idiotic ace pilot, who has managed to make themselves into a hivemind... With one part that is a small girl. You have recently recovered and secured the colony of Port Haller. You are now in some sort of underground library Alex led you to.

You greet the custodian, moving towards her to ask how things are with the whole Acarit shrine deal.

>You are now Levi.
Alex starts chatting with some mousy-looking librarian type. Ah well, you'll let the pilot engage in whatever idiocy keeps them busy.

You head to the other door, you catch a glimpse of a shrine before the world fades to white...

You are in a white area with no features... before you is... A coalition pilot from a millennia ago, during the war against the Federation.

She looks worried, "Oh please, please. I can't tell Alex, because he already used the shrine, but I need this shrine moved! I'm Mirna, goddess of knowledge,a and I REALLY need your help."

"You want me to load up all your books?" You ask, thinking about the insane demand and the logistics.

"No no no! I need just the shrine moved! I'll grant you magic power for it, but... They found Acarit's shrine and broke it, it's a matter of time before this one."

"...How'd she find it?"

"Locksley! The royal knight has an improved ability to see! It can spot my underwater library, and they know I'm out here! They were scouting the past month for Acarit and me, with Acarit gone, I can't rely on elven protection! Please help!" The goddess pleads.

>What do you do?
>>
>>2309803
Sure
>>
>>2309803
Agree to help, then bust a cap in locksley's ass for icing best girl's shrine.
but uhh switch to alex for that second bit, because loli alex has the -30 modifier for physical combat outside the mech
>>
> update Mirna on what has recently happened, tell her we found her mech and offer to move and build her shrine in our new base. And also ask were we might find more usefull people to populate our base with.
>>
Ps: we need to ask the Larper god how our base got defeated in the first place, the weakness might still be precent. So we need to maybe ask Mirna were another shrine to the secret god might be.
>>
>>2309911
our colony got taken over by the space nazis, because someone on the inside disabled the defenses for them if i remember right, there might not be any weaknesses at all, there is literally no way it could fall again without someone becoming a traitor, but oh wait even if they did turn traitor how could the person even fucking disable the defenses because they can only be activated/deactivated by someone in the DNA registry. as long as we don't get anyone other than our inner circle in the registry for the defenses we are pretty much invincible.

Mirna is at war with the god of secrets, why would she know the locations to another god she is CURRENTLY AT WAR WITH's shrines, she may have known of one or two if they were a different god than kloam, but he is LITERALLY THE FUCKING GOD OF SECRETS, maybe the fucking god of secrets has LOADS of well known shrines, I guess we could take Levi to the same shrine as alex which i would support, mostly because kloam is probably my favorite god besides best girl, but other than that it would be pretty pointless, seeing as he wants to keep secrets secret, and he already does not like us, so he would not be obligated in any fucking way at all to tell us, the people he does not like at all, about any weaknesses in our colony, when there likely is none at all, besides the massive hole in the wall the Nazi dragon boss mech made, but that's not much of a weakness when any enemies and would be siegers armies cannot reach the fucking wall without being sent to the fucking ninth dimensional plane because they got blown to dust so fine they are not even on this realm of existence anymore.

Levi doesn't know of Mirna's mech. She doesn't share memories with Alex.
>>
>>2310419
Right, I forgot Alex is an idiot who doesn't share pertinent information about shit we're about to go into/see.

Just agree to move the shrine then.
>>
>>2310484
like OP would write it so alex would share the information automatically

cease the bulli of alex, he is not a total inept retard, we should have actually voted to share the information.

"Alright, I'll help, any details you need?" You ask, just to make things clear.

"My custodian knows how to set up a shrine, but you just remove the main symbol from the altar by lifting it... You do need to hurry, they know I'm around the forest... Either tomorrow or the next day I'll be discovered..." She glances around as the world fades into being. You shrug, lifting the symbol up. It's a bit heavy, though. You walk back into the room.

"Alex, we're gonna need that custodian girl." You state.

"Wh-what are you doing?!" The custodian stammers, clearly starting to freak out.

"Mirna says she's gotta move. We're gonna move. You're coming too." You respond.

"...How do I know you are telling the truth?" The custodian clings to her broom.

"Well, aside from me bringing Alex, you don't. Though I could tie you up and toss you into cargo if that makes you feel better."

"No, no! I'll come with you! Sorry, sorry!" With that you get the custodian to go with you.

Alex frowns, "Where are you going to put that thing?"

"Data archives in the colony, probably."

The custodian asks that you wait for her to get her belongings before you leave.

>What do you do?
>>
>>2314592
Swap to alex quickly, if theres any smart options I cannot think of, OP will call us stupid through levi, then we will get a hint at the smart option.

Other than that, wait for the custodian to grab her stuff, then hop back into the hummingbird.
>>
>>2314592
Ask the custodian to grab any useful or important books or items and have Alex do the same

"Get everything important, then. Alex, you too."

The pilot frowns, "It's just history books and stuff..."

"Anything, ask the custodian." You retort.

"...fine..." Alex huffs before going to the custodian and asking what to get. The ordeal takes a while, but you manage to get cleared out.

Pausing, you get a devious idea, "How would knights get in?"

"The moon pool, they need to move fast to get down here..." the custodian states. You nod, rushing upstairs. You dig through your parts crate before heading back down, setting up devices around the moon pool.

"Levi, what are those?"

"Six backup batteries rigged to sensors. They come into the moon pool? Boom. room colapses." You smirk in your helmet, carrying the shrine to your VTOL.

You clamber in before your passengers, who soon sit themselves, Lifting off, your trap is set.

>>2318213
That Lockley dude can find Shrines though right? The other Anon mentioned trying to make it look like the shrine was still active,we should do that before leaving.

>>2309948
On the plus side if the God of Secrets knows about a flaw in our defense he won't tell anyone about it.

He strikes me as not being at war with Mirna souch as they work at cross purposes and secretly I think he's actually severely socially awkward which made him act like a giant asshole to compensate and the end result is active conflict.

Like him hiding her memories is literally his job. Maybe he can't not do it because he's the god of secrets, same as how the other gods are stuck in their roles.

If people are going to dislike him anyways, it seems like he chose to embrace it.

I mean the constant swearing and over the top insults seemed more like how someone who doesn't actually talk to people often would imagine that's what dickish gods in a position of power would act like and practiced by himself until he went too far and it became half comedic and half concerning. I know Tourrettes doesn't work like the way he was acting, but it seemed like he had something similar to that. Or he was waiting a long time to put his practicing to use and couldn't tone it down.

Did someone leave a knife in a bustub or summin?
>>
>>2318213
laugh maniacally at the thought of locksley being buried under several tons of stone, in a shrine to a god other than the god he chose to follow.

Make sure the shrine looks like it is still active to lead them in, but i assume they will attempt to come in anyways due to the fact Mera burns books.
>>
>>2318213
We should still try to find some other shrines while we are still out here before we return. no reason to head back /just/ yet
>>
>>2317350
Yo, QM, if the injury is hindering you from running the quest, you should probably take a break till you feel ok. I see other QMs take breaks when they feel too ill to run quests, I don't see any difference here.

Deal with Elves
>>
>>2324865
>>2324769
I can agree with this
>>
Ask the librarian if she knows of more nerds who might want to live with us.

Maybe we can get a teleportation spell so it won't be so easy to know that we are building a military base, flying around and transporting like 15-30 people in a 3 man flying mech will mean around 5-10 trips and that might make Mera take a bit to big an interest in our military base building.

You head back to the elven city, your aircraft cargo and passenger allowance full. As you land in the city the custodian clears her throat, "Why are we here?"

"We're looking for recruits. Perhaps you could help?" You try.

"Oh no, no. You'll only find about four Mirna-aligned elves here, and all of them usually are instrumental roles. Without those elves, their society might collapse..." She warns. That's not really good at all. In fact, that's pretty awful. Perhaps you could solve logistics?

"Well there is a magic shop here, could you get us a discount on, say, a teleport spell?"

"A TELEPORT SPELL?! Do you have any idea how much a tome of that costs? You're looking at 1000 gold coins! Countries go to WAR over such spellbooks. Even if by some miracle the spellbook is in this city, you'd never afford it!"

...well, to be fair, instant transportation does seem like something that would be heavily regulated with territorial wars. Core world was known to use teleporting commando units to sabotage bases from the inside, too.

"Can you do anything here?" You ask. The custodian shakes her head. Great.

"What can you do?"

"Well, there are other shrines, such as to the north, hidden about... Oh, but... you and Alex... you can't enter at the same time or only one person will get the blessing."

>what do you do?
>>
>>2327135
Well alex already has a good few blessings and levi is lagging behind a bit on that front. I say we powerlevel levi a bit and do the shrines for them
>>

> What about non-Mirna aligned Elves?

> We could use Brewers. Also mechanics. And there might be Elves that could LEARN to be Mirna aligned.

> Apprentices even. After all, not even Elves live forever. They could rotate out at our Colony, we would handle transportation.

> Otherwise, what exactly are their roles? We might be able to automate them.
>>
I really want necromancy so we can raise the assult trooper nazi skeletons.
>>
>>2331933
I mean we have alot of able bodies near our base that can do work, it's just that they are dead. If we could raise the dead put cameras and voice coms on them to organise and command them then we would have less of a problem with having to few workers.
>>
