Welcome Back to Warlord Quest! Last time we finished up our looting of Rhya's hill, sent our freshly claimed and bedded Thralls and loot back to the Crag for safe keeping and marched on the village of MoonBend! After butchering a party of Lancers we attacked the village, sacking it thoroughly but being heavily wounded in the fighting. Our wounds pactched, we sit in the ruins of the village square, a freshly claimed trophy in our belt and a incoming pile of loot.

Shit, quest over guys, rip Warlord and Anon.

From the broad grin on Urhost's wide, scarred face you can assume the take is good. MoonBend is a relatively large village, lots of trade going along the river and through the roads.
"Whats the haul Urhost?"
You ask, eager to get your share and begin the trek back to the Crag.

Urhost clears his throat theatrically, rolling out a sheet of slightly scorched parchment he scratched his tally onto.
"Where to begin?".he says with a smirk

>Loot take from MoonBend

>127 Thralls in various condition (3L each)
>64L worth of weapons and armor from the guards (1L each)
>34 Desirable Thralls. (10L each)
>183L worth of Raw Materials (Hides, Ore, Strong Wood, metal ingot)
>214L worth of Valuables, Trinkets, Coins, Jewelry.

>As you led the raid and very nearly carried the day single handedly, you can take up to 120L without your men seeing you as greedy.

>What take?
>>
>>2332322
There would be more Thralls available but when the attack stalled at the barricade, that gave many time to evacuate.
>>
>>2332322
Get some coin, metal ingots, desirable thrall and some armour.

60/40/10/10 as the split?
>>
Will the armour fit or do we need to smelt it or get a lot of it to be reforged?
>>
>>2332322
I would suggest
2 desirable thralls (20L)
15L of weapons and armor (15L)
10 reguler thralls (30L)
35L worth of raw materials (35L)
20L of valueables (20L)
for an even 120L
>>
>>2332335
There's not a chance in hell it would fit you. Magnus is large by the standards of very large people. You will need to meet with Hemmik back at the crag to get armor/weapons made or upgraded. He accepts either Favors, Loot or raw materials as payment
>>
>>2332344
How many upgrades could we get with 35L worth of raw materials like a lot of quality ingots or something similar to grease Hemmik's palms?
>>
>>2332346
Depends honestly on what you're after. You can increase a weapons damage, its balance(attack faster), improve armor penetration (ignore armor), similar stuff.
Shields can be upgraded to be thicker or have spikes or bladed edges or easier to wield/etc. It honestly just depends on what the goal is.
>>
>>2332334

That sounds good, I'll format for WarlordQM.

> 60L worth of valuables, trinkets, coins and jewelry
> 40L worth of raw materials (metal ingots)
> 10L worth of armor, preferably of the chest
> 10L desirable thrall

I think we should try to find a redhead, we've already got a blonde and brunette. I imagine we'll have a harder time breaking them in than the previous pair, but that shouldn't be a problem for a man of our stature.
>>
>>2332355
I'll samefag and agree with this. Was hoping to pick some prime youths to send to Vargas for training, but the extra gubbinz is also nice

> 60L worth of valuables, trinkets, coins and jewelry
> 40L worth of raw materials (metal ingots)
> 10L worth of armor, preferably of the chest
> 10L desirable thrall
>>
>>2332343

I disagree with this, because more than one desirable thrall is space better left for loot, and we don't have any real need for common thralls when we're on the warpath, unless we plan on selling them back at the Crag, but I'm doubtful the trouble we'd have to go through would be worth the hassle of transporting them, and haggling to sell them for what would be a marginal net-boost to our LP. That, and they cost 3L apiece, not 1L.
>>
> 60L worth of valuables, trinkets, coins and jewelry
> 40L worth of raw materials (metal ingots)
> 10L worth of armor, preferably of the chest
> 10L desirable thrall

I'll go for it, maybe pay the smith off with a thrall they catch his eye.

Seems to be winning vote. Yes?
>>
>>2332373
No problem I was aiming for more thralls for the sake of building a loyal little soldier corp or something since we put the squire in with Vargas, but your reasoning is also sound. Loot is loot
>>
>>2332386

Yes!

>>2332387

> loyal soldier corp

I'm fairly certain we aren't lacking for loyal fighters, and we certainly don't want to wait a decade to replace our losses. I thought we put the squire with the trainer because we had nowhere else to put them? Loot just seems more versatile to me.
>>
>>2332403
True. My thought process was something along the lines of how historical tribal societies would assimilate enemy tribes by marrying the women and training the young boys they captured to be soldiers, but that's not important we probably won't need to pick normal thralls as loot unless we could identify a thrall amongst them during the raid with some unique benefit or talent.
>>
>>2332414

Right. It'd be incredibly useful to have a personal smith, though it might be, inadvisible to try, as there's no way to ensure they wouldn't sabotage our equipment and the Crag Wolve's smith is more than enough to suit our needs. I can't really think of a good reason to capture common thralls. The desirable thralls are enough for any housework we need, I'm sure Magnus being an ex-professional mercenary, maintains his own equipment, and we aren't involved in any projects that need a large quantity of manual labor, aside from raiding, which we're already supplied for. Maybe if we capture a profitable mineshaft at some point? Aside from that, I'm really drawing a blank here.
>>
>Gained
>60L worth of valuables, trinkets, coins and jewelry (Hoard Total 88L)
> 40L Raw Materials) (metal ingots)
>10L worth of armor, does not fit
>1 desirable thrall

You list off the items you claim for yourself, Urhost nodding and scratching down your take on the scrap with a chunk of charcoal. He smirks as you claim one of the young women, giving you a lecherous grin
"Two aren't enough for ye Magnus? Aha! Ya remind me of Me when I was younger! Hyala would carve my balls off now if I brought home a girl!"
He laughs, patting your back affectionately.
"Ill get your take set aside and divide the rest among the men. Bur-Lun is really only interested in metal scrap and whatnot. Giants don't mine much but they do like metal. Go pick out yourself a fine lass and have her take care of ye. I can handle this lot"
He jerks his thumb toward the looting Crag Wolf Warriors, a massive cask of ale being rolled out of the basement of the inn
"Might get a bit rowdy here in a bit"

He strides off, bellowing at a drunken raider to get off the top of the barrel as you stand, grunting as your leg and bruised ribs twinge unhappily. The pretty young women of Moonbend, having more value, are being kept under a different guard than the other Thralls, mainly being married warriors with foul tempered wives. They nod aggreably to you, stepping aside and allowing you entrance to the small storehouse the women have been secluded to.

You resist the urge to lick your lips at the tantalizing array before you.

>Choose one.

>The tall, wide hipped, red haired Amazon of a woman glowering fiercely at you.

Thralls are basically a tradeable thing. You can gift a thrall to someone in exchange for work, offer them as currency to other tribes, have them perform jobs for you so you don't have to. set them to work (mines, farms, etc). But yeah they arent super valuable to Magnus right NOW but they have uses if you're creative.
>>
>>2332484
Hmmmm. Does the black cloth over the third womans' eyes signify something important? I'm getting a seer or priestess feel from her given her clothing and the cloth.

The read haired woman seems like she is in good health as well as physically robust. Good breeding stock for siring strong children. But she seems considerably more dangerous if she decides to try and free herself especially if she attacks during sex.

The small girl seems tricksy so she might have some uses or be some kind of thief

The pale woman at least in my opinion seems like a priestess or maybe a mystic of some kind.

Warrior, thief, wizard/cleric

Interesting spread here QM

No, neither of that. In the first, or maybe second thread, when anons started to refer to Arch's member as his "meat hammer," it struck me out of the blue and I just haven't mentioned it until now. In my headcanon, Magnus' member's scaled up with the rest of him, but the thought of a hulking musclebound titan of a man who slays squads of men like wheat before chaff doing it all to prove his manhood to himself was just hilarious to me. While the smooth muscle and lovely, if harsh, features of the towering redhead call to you in a way so primal you nearly take her right there, you resist, giving her clenched fist and classic fighting stance a smirk.

While the silent, cold beauty of the black garbed girl, her eyes hidden behind a strip of silver threaded black cloth, catches your eye, you'd rather not risk your soul to someone with a direct link to a goddess that hates you. Denying yourself the chance to rip away her thick robes you pass her by.

The tanned, slightly freckled face of the third girl pales slightly as you stop, looking down at her curiously. She quickly backsteps, fumbling with her foot to push away something she dropped hurriedly. A glint of metal catches your eye and you smirk as you catch sight of the lockpick before her foot brushes it away.

"Now what's that you're trying to hide there little one"
You growl with a smile, gently gripping her arm and pulling her forward. She doesn't resist, her mouth working as she tries to come up with some plea or excuse.

"Um well you see I-uh.. I found that and I thought it was really uh. . interesting and I-I-I... Oh please please please Oh saints this isn't happening"
she babbles, her large hazel eyes widening as she realizes that your hand is not coming off her arm.
"Oh by the seven hundr- let me go! Letgoletgoletgoletgoooooooo!!!"
She begins pulling, yanking, heaving with all her limited night but your grip remains firm, a broad smile on your face as her rough spun clothes shift and pull, revealing soft pale skin untouched by the sun.

Panting, she stops her struggling for a moment before lunging away again. You simply tense your arm as she attempts to pull away, looking over her petite form. She's small yes but well proportioned, if petite. Her head barely rises above the middle of your stomach. Her bare arms and shoulders are tanned, tiny scars and freckles dotting the skin. You know for a fact those are the scars you get from cutting yourself on broken glass climbing through a window. Her face is angled, yet soft, her cheekbones and button nose decorated with a spray of freckles.

Soft full lips continue to spout pleas of release and excuses as you simply throw her over your shoulder, nodding to the guards as you step out into the street.
"Tell Urhost I picked out mine. Keep watch over the rest"
You order as you search for lodgings, the guards laughing to themselves as you walk away, your new thrall pounding your back with her fists, your palm covering her entire, appreciably sized rear.
"I said lemme gooooOOOOOO"
she squeals as you give it a experimental slap

>You'll sleep in comfort tonight. Take the mayors house.

>You'll take the inn, probably a better bed anyway in their best room.

>You'll sleep in your tent. The wounded need better lodgings.

One thing I know from lots of RPG experience is these village mayor types usually have some stash of treasure or savings somewhere. If we spend the night we may find it or just enjoy the nice digs. Win win either way. Unless an assassin that comes later assumes that we would take the best place to sleep or somehting and attacks us.

You settle your sights on a particularly large house set off the corner of the village square, your pint sized new thrall kicking vigorously as you stride across the square, yelping unhappily as you apply another slap and fondle to her soft rear

"Where are you- AIIEE!! STOP THAT! Answer me! Im talking to YoUUU!!"
You're sure her rear is getting quite sore after all this as you step into the well furnished home, ducking your head low to avoid knocking either of you against the door frame. Your new captive goes silent for a moment, looking around as you turn, slamming the door shut and locking it.
"Is this mayor Yarrow's house? Why are we here? Why'd you bring me he... Oh. Oh fuck... Letgoletgoletgoletgo!!"

You ignore her yelps and demands for release, dragging over a hefty dresser and bracing it against the door with one hand. After making sure she couldn't bolt from the premises the second you set her down, you do so.

Backing against the table she keeps her palms raised up, looking at you with a mixture of rage, panic and fear on her face as you regard her calmly for a moment before you smile, raising your own empty empty hands and stepping back
"Relax kitten. Im not going to eat you"
You laugh, casting your eyes on the simple excess of the mayors home. A small cooking area and pantry connected to a cellar, a pair of bedrooms, one belonging to a child, a young boy you believe. A crackling fire in a finely made stone hearth, a sturdy table set for breakfast and abandoned hurriedly. You gesture at the untouched food, the fruit, smoked fish and bread going to waste.
"Eat. Drink. Please. Id like to speak with you if you dont mind"

The young woman blinks in shock, looking dumbly to the food and back at you, narrowing her eyes
"What? Is this some kind of trick?"

You pull out a chair, hoping it can support your weight as you sit, piling a plate with bread, cheese and smoked fish, biting a hefty chunk from a peach
"Eat. Please. You look hungry"

Cautiously, she sits as far from you as possible, looking around the home as she bites deeply into a pear, chewing slowly as does, obviously looking for a way out.

That seems a bit soft for a musclebound ex-mercenary barbarian would-be warlord. How about,

> "Get comfy and don't worry, we'll have plenty of time to get to know each other."

Wait until she's almost through with the fruit, then continue.

> "I'll be forward. Of all the others, you alone caught my eye and so I claimed you. I'll keep you until the day I grow bored with you, then I'll cast you aside as I did that old man's limp corpse."

Wait a moment for that to sink in, then,

> "Your captivity will be as good or as bad as you make it. I'm a monster and won't apologize for it, but I'm a reasonable one and, so long as you keep in turn, I don't think we'll have any issue."
> "Those are a thieve's scars on your shoulders, and that was a lockpick you dropped. That interests me kitten. Tell me, are you a burglar? You needn't worry for my anger, I know I've done far worse than any penny-pinching."

Then give a genuine, curious smile.

I mean your version of the question from your post.

Eh your right about my dialogue, but I couldn't think of a way to just say 'i'm your master now and i own you and if you obey me everything will be okay' without appearing needlessly aggressive or appearing too non-chalant about it.
>>
>>2332921

Alrighty, you take all the time you need QM.

>>2332931

>>
>>2332948
Eh. Doesn't matter now. We just need to discuss something while we wait for the update.
>>
>>2332955

Should we keep using the shield and hammer combo, or should we get a hammer sized to be heavy for even us, that we wield with two hands? And what are we replacing the shield's decorations with?
>>
>>2332961
I dig the spear/shield combo honestly, but I'm a huge fag for spear/shield barbarian types. I think we should ditch the hammer and get some upgrades on the spear if we can.
>>
>>2332967

The same hammer we shattered a castle gate with? No, we're not ditching the hammer, I'm fine with leaving it in our tent or whatever, but that hammer is worth its weight in gold and then some.
>>
Upgrade the Spear and shield (I'm thinking our new decoration could be engraved with images of honored ancestors like vall to replace the moon bitch and her saints)

Upgrade our hammer to ultra great hammer and use our massive strength to home run our enemies and destroy buildings.
>>
>>2332980
Good point. Let's use >>2332985's idea; turn the hammer into a fucchueg ultrameathammer, and make the spear our shield companion weapon.
>>
>>2332985

I like the idea of the ancestral shield, and the ultra-great hammer would work well with our strength, but there's something to be said for the battlespear's piercing and cutting capacity.

true, I say that the massive hammer would be our weapon of choice when dealing with big monsters and heavily armored or defended targets, but when dealing with a dangerous single opponent or a mob we use the spear/shield combo to both cut them to ribbons while not having to worry about not being able to defend ourselves or missing due to slow swings.

Has anyone thought of what we may want as our first long term quest goal?

Getting all the Runes we can, upgrading and souping up all of our equipmentt, becoming chieften of the crag wolves?

I wanna ask the QM whose the most powerful of the moon lords and how many of them we would need to take down to conquer the region also if they're any beautiful virgin princesses in need of kidnapping.
>>
>>2333054

We can worry about fighting literal demigods single-handedly and kidnapping the daughters of heads of state later. Right now, we should focus on getting the runes of the mountain king, and upgrading our equipment to the point we can handle a squad of half a dozen normies without issue.
>>
>>2333065
What does he rune of mountain king do again? I can't remember. But yes I can get behind becoming strong enough take on enough a whole troop of ordinary soldiers by ourselves. As good a place to start as any.
>>
>>2333076

If I remember correctly, it gives a +10 bonus to strength, which, combined with Magnus' "natural" +10 bonus, would make him ungodly powerful. The only catch is that the ritual requires a shitload of dangerous ingredients to perform, like a giant's toe and a dire boar's heart, among others. It'd be very difficult, but I think the end result would be worth it.
>>
Rolled 13 (1d100)

just here to roll my bad luck out
>>
>>2333054
I think we should gather more allied tribes, in case moonbois want revenge
Qm said there were other tribes on our mountain, yes?
>>
>>2333114

Shieeeet
>>
>>2333097
Hmmm. We could ask our giant friend i there are any giants who could lend a toe or may have lost one due to frostbite or something, but i get the feeling it has to be the toe of a giant you kill, so maybe we could ask if there is some asshole giant in need of a thumping.

We could also ask if anyone in the tribe has seen a dire boar to hunt, but we don't now how dangerous it is on comparison to a normal boar.
Still +20 overall strength sounds fucking cool and I can guess with that strength we can increase our swinging speed with a ultra great weapon and wear really heavy armor without difficulty.
>>
>>2333117

Yep, when we got promoted, we had the chance to raid other tribes which we skipped out on for the sake of pillaging soft villagers, a decision I support wholeheartedly, by the way.
>>
>>2333124

With +20 strength we could pull a chewbacca, rip someone's arm off and beat them with it without skipping a beat.
>>
>>2333128
Maybe we should ask if there is an upgrade that allows us to re-roll strength tests. Static bonuses are great but if roll shit it wont help much
>>
>>2333131

Yeah, there might be a tier-two to the rune of the mountain king, which would make Magnus' strength balls-to-the-walls make-Bur Lun-pause insane.

>>2333125
>in case they want revenge

>>
>>2333054
our long term goal should be spiky chaos lord style plate armor engraved with runes and animal fur as cape
>>

Now THAT's the kind of spirit that gets the spirits to notice you!
>>
>>2333150
I personally like pulling off the chaos lord look for magnus. Magnus seems like he would be a khornate champion if he were a character in WF.
>>
>>2333146
I mean, thats the spirit alright. But we just now missed a few boats with witnesses, and a popular trading village raided

>>

>>
>>2333173

Damn, that's an astute observation anon. Next time, let's get Wren's team to sabotage the night boats before we attack, so we aren't caught with our pants around our ankles later. I've got the feeling we've only got about a week to get our shit together and be back at the Crag before a moonie army's perforated our corpse, but that should be enough time to sweep by that ancient ruin turned trading post.
>>
>>2333183

Maybe. Hopefully a modest garrison, a brittle gate to crash, and plenty of treasure squirreled away in obvious hiding places... Realistically though, we should be more careful about charging with reckless abandon before we reach hulkmode, otherwise we'll get our asses disembowled. Seriously, if three of those militiamen had landed decent hits we'd be dead, crippled, or humbled in front of our men right now.

>>2333281
Clancy did a fantastic job of villainy in a cheesily enjoyable movie - not to mention 'Kurgan' means 'grave-mound.'
>>
>>2333304
There's always someone bigger mate, or someone with sheer skill and testes. Just a matter of time.
>>
>>2333309
Apparently the original design was for a knightly honor bound villain. Clancy didn't enjoy playing Kurgan, due to evil and such I guess, but I prefer him so much more. The look is super dope.
>>
I dont get why we want plate armor. Sure, we become tanky as fuck, but i dont feel this fits our character at all.
I can get behind a lot of armor, but i dont think our character needs (or wants) to get covered head to toe.
With how big and strong Magnus is, i would rather put focus on his weapons, and how well his armor can aid him in crushing the opponent. We slam with our shield, get some easier counters with our gauntlets, and move quickly in light armor
>>
>>2333325

I see where you're coming from, and I definitely think we should focus on our weapon and mobility for now, I really think once we've enhanced our strength to +20 or higher, we should start wearing spiked half-plate, because with our strength, it would make literally no difference whatsoever to our mobility and increase our protection tremendously.
>>
>>2333325
Don't forget the hammer. I dig what you're puttin down though. That's why I put out the patchwork idea. Take what works for us and roll with it. We are quite a bit different than normal folk, normal stuff isn't gonna work.
>>
>>2333178
Not enough spikes and runes
>>
>>2333313
Beautiful.

>>2333325
>>2333338
>>2333343
Yeah, I like the amalgam plate idea; pick stuff up as we go. I think we could use some leg armor; seeing as we're taller than fucking everything, the legs become a natural target. Legplates, a codpiece, and a thick iron belt to guard the guts.
>>
>>2333343

I like the patchwork idea too, we shouldn't go all out in plate armor and mimic the moon scum knights, but we shouldn't abandon heavy armor entirely like our barbarian allies. We should go for a mix of both, taking what works, and leaving what doesn't. Whatever we go with, spiked gauntlets are an absolute must.
>>
>>2333355

Brilliant, a codpiece is ideal. Maybe an obscene one but I don't know if that's quite Magnus's style,
>>
>>2333311
Nice quids
Nut mate at that point full plate isnt going to offer much

All we would lose tons of mobility and vision
Half plate would be the havest i would go
>>2333325
Im filly with you
We not a little normaly person who needs to get full body playe to live though a fight
And im sure our people just think thats a pussys outfit any ways
I think Diablo handles it pretty good
>>
>>2333097
Actually im replacing that system of upgrades with the runic system. Rituals can still be conducted and monster parts will be a crucial ingredient in some weapons or rituals.
>>
>>2333365
in that case will the +10 strength rune will cost giants blood, stone viper venom and granite hide tusk still?
>>
>>2333376
Nah. You just have to earn a Rune for the spirits to bless you with the Runes energy. You can still undergo the ritual to gain a bonus (different but strength related) if you gather the ingredients
>>
>>2333365

Ah, welcome back OP! Good to know, good to know, I take it the runes are incremental, with stronger bonuses taking more and more effort to acquire, and rituals are essentially an optional route to badassery via monster hunting?
>>
>>2333384
In that case what do we need to do in order to earn some runes or have we already done something to qualify for one.
>>
>>2333387

I bet we'd have to ask the shaman to get a solid answer, but I figure we haven't done enough for anything major. Aside from the gate-crashing, which was long enough ago and far enough away I'm sure the spirits would expect a repeat.
>>
>>2333387
Basically? Kick lots of ass. Fight strong opponents, Kill monsters, enemies of note, sack their temples and cast down their castles. The more ass you beat, the more power the spirits will bestow onto you for further ass beating.
>>
>>2333402

I'd thought as much.

You chew a mouth full of smoked fish, looking curiously at the young woman, her eyes darting nervously about the former mayors home, thr man himself probably either dead or dying, his lovely, plump wife no doubt finding herself the target of some very blunt affection.
"Get comfortable"
You say with a small smile, taking a drink of the thin, watered down breakfast ale. She jumps at your voice, setting down the pear she was nibbling at

"What do you mean"
She says carefully, reaching subtly for the pronged fork near her plate. She stops as your gaze flicks to it, a broad grin splitting your features.

"Well have plenty of time to... Get acquainted, as it is"
You say with a shrug, taking a large swallow of the watered down beverage, wiping your lip on the back of your hand.
"Ill be forward. Out of all the women in that room, all the girls I could be chosen, I picked you. I wanted YOU"
She reddens slightly, pursing her lips before you speak again
"You're very pretty... Soft, fine, and plump in all the right places."
You allow your gaze to wander, using your elevated position to enjoy the gentle curve of her bid on against her tunic
"Of all the others, I noticed you and now you're mine 'till the day I free you from my service."

She opens her mouth to object, her cheeks reddening and eyes flashing but you hold up a finger, silencing her "Now, your time can be as good or as bad as you please. You saw me fight, saw me carve through the 'men' of this village like a scythe. There's certainly worse men you could bed, and I assure you, down there I'm every bit as imposing as up here."

Her lips part in shock as she sits down hard, her lower lip trembling as she searches for words.
"K-Keera... My names Keera... Yours?"
She swallows heavily, wiping away a small tear with her palm.

You set down your mug and stand, plucking a peach from the bowl as you cross around the table, kneeling next to her chair. Brushing her straight, chin length hair behind her ear you place a finger under her chin, forcing her to look at you. You speak softly, holding her chin gently
"How you fare in my service is entirely up to you. If obeying me does not suit you, you're free to go out there and join the others. Im sure tomorrow, after a dozen or so men have fucked you into the dirt and left some fatherless bastard in your belly, it will be worth it."

Tears trickle slowly down her cheeks, small, choked sobs escaping as the full inescapability of the situation becomes clear.
"You're... You're a m-monster"

>cont
>>
That earns a true, genuine chuckle from you and you wipe a line of tears from Keera's cheek with your thumb.
"I'm a monster and i won't apologize for it, but I'm a reasonable one and, so long as you behave, serve me well and don't do anything foolish, say, run away, I don't think we'll have any issue."

Keera swallows heavily, blinking away her tears, biting her full lower lip as she considers your words. You trace your finger along one of the small, white scars on her upper shoulder, caressing her warm skin gently. She watches your hand like a mouse would a snake, the blood between your knuckles and scars crisscrossing them a tapestry of violence.
"These are a thieve's scars..."
You say softly, She starts at your accussation and you smile
"And that was a lockpick you dropped back there. That interests me my little kitten. Tell me, are you a burglar? You needn't worry for my anger, I know I've done far, FAR worse than any penny-pinching."

Keera looks up at you, crossing her arms across her chest, before looking down and away from you sullenly
"I-im not a burglar!"
She says softly
"Well... Not exactly... I just .. I like to take things...get into places im not supposed to... I never stole anything from someone who couldn't afford to lose it!"
She pouts defensively, gesturing around the mayors house
"Like Mayor Yarrow! He didnt NEED a set of silver cutlery did he? Alaine didnt need that necklace did she? Her husband bought her another a week later!"

Hmmmm. Is she's been given a meat hammer by now she'll have lost her powers most likely and that ruin probably any utility she may have as an advisor or as a human sacrifice.

Also when QM gets back we should ask about the cult of the moon. The zealots aparently transform into magic abominations, so what does that say about the cult as a whole?

Do they practice human sacrifice? Is their goddess as ruthless and cruel as she has been described by the crag wolves and Magnus.

What do you think warlords did??

Whoo okay im back and rested with fully recharged OP batteries. To answer some questions, yes you will notice characters that you pass up interacting with later in the quest.

There are other villages in the area but the refugees from MoonBend will quickly spread the word that you are in the area. You'll have to move fast.

There are several high ranking members of the Church of Moonlight, various knightly orders and warrior priest brotherhoods. The valley of the Moon is a lot larger than you may think it is and has a hefty population.

There are lots of small tribes in the mountains, secluded valleys, caves and even in the lowlands. They can be brought into the fold either with words or force. In the case of the Wild Folk, Force is the only option.

Magnus's Strength,Durability, Command, Domination, Combat skill, etc can all be upgraded with Runes. If you really go the route of weapon upgrades, they can offer quite the tantalizing array of benefits (Hp recovery, Armor penetration, additional damage die, elemental effects, etc)

Any other questions before we get to plundering these treasures?

You raise an eyebrow at KeerKeera's defense of her thievery. The indignant burglar clenches her tiny fists and crosses her arms across her chest as she sulks downward. You chuckle to yourself, shaking your head in amusement
"Thieving? For sport? Lose a hand, for sport?"
Keera opens her mouth to object but you power on, laughing to yourself
"Even risk dancing on a rope, all for, for the sport of it? Ha! I've never heard of such a thing!"

Keera scowls, looking pointedly away as her cheeks redden in embarassment
"I wasn't always a member of the Crag Wolves my little kitten. In my mercenary days, I ran many thieves through, of all shapes and sizes, but none were so daring or soft-headed as to thieve for the hell of it!"

Keera looks at you, her cheeks scalding red and small fists clenched
"It wasn't just for the sport! Im not stupid! I took the coin from what i.. What I stole and I gave it to those who needed it! Like old Rodvir! I helped him pay for new nets when his were torn away! Crippled Ness at the inn! I always gave her enough for a hot meal! Even when I saw get walking that one time! Im a good person!"
She cries indignantly, pounding the table with all her might. She slumps back against the chair and sighs
"Even if I got caught, it wasn't even really that dangerous. Harald was always kind to me. He couldve taken my hands when he caught me with that bracelet but he just laughed, showed me how to hide things better and sent me on my way"

You smile softly, seems Harald had a soft spot in his honor bound heart. Most men would be taken some very cruel liberties with the lovely young thief.

You grin broadly, the predatory glint in your eye silencing Keera's self righteous tirade. Your gentle facade fades away and you grip her waist, hauling her upright with a gasp of shock.
"What are you doing?! Stop! Stop! Let me go you shit!"
She squeals, pounding her fists against your chest.

She stops suddenly, your broad hand pressing against her back, pressing her against you, makes something very clear to her. She pales visibly.

"Awful hissy aren't you kitten? Im tired of waiting and bored of talking. Now come put those nimble fingers of yours to use"
You growl, cupping a handful of her soft, firm rear.

Keera has stolen many things of value. Rings, Necklaces, coin, jewels, even a silver chalice from the local abbey on a dare. But tonight? She is the victim of a thief and her virtue is your plunder.

>Hours pass.

You lay back on the former mayors bed, the cracked and twisted bed frame creaking unhappily as you settle your weight back. Keera moans softly, her tongue lolling from her mouth, a trail of drool and sweat sticking her cheek to the bed. Sweat dampened hair sticks up erratically, a visible, palm shaped bruise forming on her throat. You admire the red palm prints on her rear, caressing the soft skin gently. To her credit she still tries to pull away, exhausted and broken as she is.

Your hammer and battle spear are already Great Weapons. Magnus, being huge, can dual wield great weapons.

I was meaning make the meathammer an Ultra Weapon and then dualwield it with the Ultra greatsword, because that seemed the most overkillinest way to be, but I think >>2334692 had a better idea; use the melted down greatsword to improve our battlespear and maybe rebuild the fuckhammer.

You listen to the chaos of the post-raid celebration outside and decide that mingling with your men could be a good idea. You stand from the shattered remains of the flimsy bed and pull on your leggings and boots. Keera flinched weakly as you pat her soft bottom, the mix of fluids and blood on her inner thighs catching the light as she wriggles
"I don't suggest running. If my men see you, they may help themselves."
Her dazed eyes still manage to widen further as she absorbs the implications

"Ill be back soon"
Without waiting for a reply you close the door behind you, stepping out into the square. Even at this late hour, your men celebrate. The fallen are eulogized to cheers and toasts. The slain enemy are hacked apart, their heads mounted on spikes or piled high. Fights, both good natured and fuelled by drink break out randomly. Drink, food, women, all are passed around in abundance, your men fought hard and will celebrate harder.

The cheers and whoops from the half demolished inn draw your attention and you make your way over, your men raising their drinks and clapping your back as you pass by. Taking a offered mug you toss it back in one gulp, the potent ale made all the better by the cheers of your men.

The inn, once a large, two story establisment with dozens of rooms has been. Remodeled. An entire section of the wall has been torn away, the chairs and tables burning in a bonfire only a few paces away. Every window and door has been shattered to pieces. Even the floor has been hacked apart and the massive casks of ale and mead rolled out of the cellar via a makeshift ramp..

And it is PACKED .

Your men crowd shoulder to shoulder, some with sullen Thralls under their arm. They cheer and whoop, groan and curse as two men in the center of the floor beat each other to a pulp. The crowd prevents you from seeing much of the fighters before a wet, heavy smack issues from the ring and the spectators leap out of the way.

A lean limbed, one eyed red haired man flies backward, his nose gushing blood and his remaining eye rapidly swelling shut, landing at your feet. A bare chested, sweat slicked ogre of a man spits a mouthful of blood and offers the dazed man a hand.
"Get the fuck off'o Magnus's boots before he steps on ya Lars."
Growls Urhost, helping his former opponent up with a grin.

You smirk at Urhost as he pulls the dazed warrior to his feet, patting his back before pushing him off to get a drink
"Looks like you're having fun"
Pointing out the splatters of blood and pools of sweat on the floor of the inn. Urhost laughs, punching your shoulder as he pushes through the crowds, a new fight already drawing their attention.
"Of course! Got good drink, some fine salt pork, cringing pups to beat senseless, I couldn't ask for more!"
He sways, steadying himself on the cracked remains of a table.

You gesture around the makeshift arena and all the men seemingly waiting for an opponent.
"Any chance I could join in on that?"

Urhost blinks in shock before grinning broadly, handing you his drink and climbing up onto the remains of the bar
"OI! OI! YOU DUMB CUNTS LISTEN UP!"
He bellows, gaining the attention of everyone within several miles.
"WHO WANTS A GO AT YOUR WAR LEADER? MAGNUS HERE SAYS HE CAN TEAR THROUGH YOU FUCKS LIKE CHILDREN! YOU GONNA TAKE THAT?!"

The responding howls of outrage and demands for a match nearly deafen you.

We don't need to waste loot getting either, when they've both had their cherries popped and there's sure to be more at the next hamlet we get around to sacking.
Of course when we get older and settle down with our own tribe we're going to want strong women to sire our children, but in the meantime, there's nothing saying we can't keep a few pretty ones to fuck for fun and trade away when we're bored with them.
>>

Most assuredly, we don't want to be caight by a horde of lancers when we're weighed down with a bevy of baubles, but I think we've got enough men, time, and greed to try and sack that ruin-based trading post on the way back, before it receives a halfway competent garrison and its citizens evacuate with their trinkets in tow.

>Arvel GiantSon

With all the challengers arrayed before you, you aren't sure where to begin picking but your choice is made for you as a shaggy haired, shaggy bearded brute shoulders his way to the front. Standing several inches above the common rabble he barely has to crane his neck to look you coolly in the eyes, smiling grimly to reveal several missing and broken teeth.
"I'll make you eat those words 'WarLeader'"
He snarls, his voice a guttural rasp like rusted metal and stones grinding together. Leveling a finger at your chest, he shouts to the room
"He's fought lots o'little men! I doubt he ever fought a real son of the mountains! A real Crag Wolf!"
The crowd, a mix of your original war party and Urhost's reinforcements reply with a mix of cheers and boos, drinks being thrown from the more displeased.

You feel blood rushing to your cheeks, your fingers clenching of their own volition as he continues to insult you, drunkenly bellowing like a boar
"I, Arvel GiantSon, will teach this foreign FUCK, How it feels to fight a real man... And after I knock him silly, im gonna take that sweet thing he stole and show her what a real mans cock looks li-"

You didn't mean to crush the pewter mug flat against the oafs jaw but hey, things happen. Urhost bellows in laughter as he clears the crowd back, the sputtering and enraged Arvel climbing to his feet, clenching his broad, scarred fists as he does.
"You'll pay for that"

You shrug, shaking out your limbs as you step forward, bringing your fists into a classic pugilists guard.
"Make me pay then"

>First Round Knockout

Arvel charges forward, fist hauled back ready to smash your teeth into the back of your skull, bellowing in bloodlust and rage. The crowd roars, watching in equal parts shock and glee as two titans collide.

Arvel's fist, the knuckles scarred and knobby, caked with dried blood seems to mive in slow motion as it comes forward, your heartbeat pounding in your ears as a voice whispers in the back of your mind. A small smile crosses your features as your feet shift across the floor, your weight dipping backwards just for a moment. Arvel's bone pulping strength is all for naught as his fist whiffs by your face harmlessly.

His remaining teeth clenched tightly, he snarls like a hound as he lunges again, a wild roundhouse arcing towards your cheek. Without a care in the world, your forearm comes up, catching his blow and stopping it short. The look of incredulous shock on his face is cemented in your memory as you piston your other fist into his gut.

His flesh actually *ripples*, a shockwave spreading through the fat and muscle as you hammer his ribs with the force of a blacksmiths hammer. His chest bows inward as he nearly buckles, only to catch another brutal blow to the ribs, the impact lifting his feet off the floor. Arvel gasps out his breath in a single explosive exhalation, his eyes bugging from his skull.

The crowd goes silent as he staggers backward, jaws hanging open in shock. Arvel gasps, unable to catch his breath as you step forward, a calm smile on your face. He weakly lashes out with his fist, the blow thumping harmlessly against your chest. With a brutal, snapping lunge your fist slams into Arvel's jaw, cocking his head to the side in a spray of blood, sweat and saliva from his lips. His bloodshot eyes roll back in his head and he collapses backward limply, the floorboards shaking with the impact of his heavy body.

The inn is silent for a heartbeat before it explodes into noise and chaos, warriors crowding around you, slapping your back, thrusting drinks at you, cheering your name in awe.

Urhost kneels over the limp and dazed Arvel, snapping his fingers on front of the barely conscious warrior. Arvel's eyes open weakly, unfocused and drifting
"Wha...wha'happened?"
He slurs, his mouth numbed and full of blood

Urhost chuckles, pulling the woozy warrior to a sitting position, thrusting a mug of mead into his hands
"Ya got knocked right the fuck out Lad"

"A fine fight! Finely done! Hope I didn't hurt you too badly but I felt you needed a bit of... Evidence. Im War Leader for a reason my friend. Remember that"
You smile broadly, hooking an arm across his shoulder and shaking him good naturely. The crowd cheers as you lift a mug to the fight, Urhost leading the cheering as you help the dazed fighter to a bench. Arvel nods at you, sighing as he runs a hand through his shaggy hair.
"Aye War Leader. Ya more than proved yerself to me an' I must apologize to ye. Ill not challenge ye again an' I doubt any here will anytime soon. Me sword is yours if you'll have it"

"Good! Good! Now come! Lets show these li'l men how real warriors drink!"

>Time passes.

You aren't sure what creature has taken root in your skull and is currently clawing your brain away. Your tongue feels swollen several sizes too large and your joints, back and even your very skin hurts like you were beaten with hammers. The bustle of the camp drives into your eardrums and spirals into the very depths of your headache like red hot nails. You blearily crack your eyes open and recoil as light lances into your retinas, scalding them like a dragons breath.

Squinting and swearing you stumble from the ruins of a freshly demolished house, one wall completely shattered and a dent that suspiciously matches the outline of your body in the opposite wall. Your men offer you a respectful berth, some chuckling as you walk by. The cool air brushing past some very sensitive parts of your anatomy makes you aware of the fact you're as nude as the day you were born.

But that can wait.

Dunking your head into the bucket of cool water by the well brings you sweet, blissfully relief as you gulp down several mouthfuls of the blessedly cool liquid. You upend the bucket onto your open mouth and head, shivering as it washes away the filth and grime covering your body.

Urhost and Arvel stumble over, both clearly horrendously hungover, looking at you blearily. Urhost pushes past you, submerging his head in the well, bubbles rising as he either gulps desperately or attempts to drown himself. Arvel simply blinks at you like a bludgeoned ox, his eyes rimmed red and watery.

Your tongue sticks and you spit, kicking your lips and coughing
"What happened? What did I do last night?"

Urhost removes his head from the well and shakes like a hound, spraying you both with water, looking at you with a tired laugh, shaking his head furiously
"What did you do Magnus? Bloody hell, where do I start? After you and this big fuck here drank literally every drop of mead, spiced honeywine, ale and even the fucking beer, you got a bit crazy"

You blanch, rubbing your forehead with the heel of your hand
"How crazy?"

Arvel pulls his face from the well, gasping gasping for breath as Urhost nudges him with a massive shit eating grin
"Should i tell'im?"

Arvel grins maniacally, showing a newly lost tooth before nodding
"Aye, let him know"

Urhost sits against the rim of the well, laughing to himself as Arvel crosses his arms, grinning like a loon
"Well, after that bit'o genius, ya decided you were gonna have a friendly wrestling contest with some'o the lads. Now don't worry, none of em died but they're not feelin' too sturdy right now"

Arvel points with a smirk to a shattered window on the second floor of a home
"'specially not Lyurg. Tossed 'im through that window like he were a child"

Urhost laughs uproariously before continuing
"Now, now where was I? Ah, yeah.. After that, You decided to gather everyone around for your victory song"
Urhost cackles, clapping his hands and wiping a tear from his eye
"Not that you actually HAVE one as of yet. But I give ya points for creativity my boy. Only so many things rhyme with 'Magnus is the best'"

Arvel roars with laughter and you hang your head, palming your face in shame. Urhost plows on mercilessly
"Then, and THEN you decided that since Bur-Lun wasn't singing along, him not knowin' a word o' common and all, that that was a personal insult to yer bravery and that ya had to fight him. He took ya punching him in the leg well enough but then ya threw a NASTY uppercut and uh...."
He trails off, rubbing his close cropped hair for a moment

"He kicked ya"
Arvel chimes in, cackling madly, pointing to the massive bruise covering your entire chest and midsection
"Fuckin' HARD.Right through that wall like a child would a rock! We thought he'd killed ya but then we heard ya snorin' so... We let ya sleep"

You groan in shame and exhaustion. By Valls axe why do you drink

Say Magnus sacks a dozen or so villages and starts to accumulate too many to be practical, but still continues capturing thralls 'cause he's a damn animal on two legs. How difficult would it be to trade "surplus" and/or pregnant thralls away at a LP discount, or outright give them away entirely, and how would doing so effect his image in the eyes of the tribe?
>>

Desirable Thralls can be gifted freely. If they are ACTIVELY pregnant, that could be seen as insulting but after the child is born she can either be sold, gifted, freed or released depending on what you guys want to do.

>>
>>2337915

Sure thing man, but it might be a good idea to resolve the pants-getting, theif-checking, and giant-apology in this thread, and start with the warband's status in thread 4.5. That's usually what I do when I need to wrap something up in a quest thread, tie up loose ends and open the next with the status. Helps the flow you know.
>>
>>2337873

That makes sense. Thanks for the response OP.
>>
>resolving this thread first.
>giant apology
>Pants acquisition
>Thief check.

You rub your forehead with a groan, knuckling your eyes before sighing, Urhost and Arvel laughing madly as you nod to yourself, giving them a determined look.
"Right then. Somebody get me some pants"

Arvel laughs, walking with you to a large pole sank deep into the ground, pointing upward silently with a broad grin. You look up and sigh, shaking your head in self disappointment.
"What in the fuck...?"

Your pants flutter proudly from the top of the pole like a standard, snapping in the wind. It seems you found some paint or dyes and crudely daubed out a series of symbols and letters.
"Magnus.. is ...da... Beast?"
You cock your head to the side, reading out the blocky letters. Arvel snorts, punching your shoulder as he walks away laughing
"Ya SAID every Warlord needs a battle standard and ya bloody well wanted one"
He calls back as you scowl and push the pole down, retrieving your wayward pants and finally getting YOUR pole out of the wind. Your flopping manhood finally wrangled you decide that making amends with the largest member of your war party is a must.

Bur-Lun, being a giant, isn't hard to find. He kneels by the village wall, loading handfuls of metal ingots and scrap into a massive pack he seems to have constructed from the remains of a wagon, several lengths of sturdy chain and strips of raw, bloody hide. He nods to you, grinning like a broken cliff face as you approach, pointing a massive finger at the bruise on your chest, chuckling like a landslide
"Mag-Nus Pha-Las. Nog-Da Pha-Casso! Bur-Lun Tu-Dar Non-Lo"
He rumbles, nodding to you.

"He says ' You have great warrior spirit, Magnus of the Little Wolves. He did not expect such a blow from a small man such as you and acted without thought. He hopes you can forgive the rudeness of his actions, his ancestors surely spit upon his herd'"
Urhost translates, patting your back and nodding to Urhost as he walks over. Bur-Lun pounds his fists together in greeting and rumbles a greeting in Giantish. Urhost rasps out a reply and with a look from you, launches into a long winded bout of Giantish that Bur-Lun sits attentively through before nodding once and extending his massive hand to you
"Mag-Nus Mal-Pha Bur-Lun"

Urhost grunts to himself before turning to you
"I told him you wanted to apologize to him for your actions last night. That it was wrong and foolish of you to strike him and you were equally shamed"
You nod, pleased with your Liuetenants eloquence.
"And what did he say?"

Urhost looks at the pair of you strangely before shrugging, a small grin on his face
"He names you friend of the giants, a brother of the Far Walkers and his Friend"

>accept offer of Bur-Lun's friendship

Nice, once Bur-Lun returns to his family this'll help should we have diplomacy with them in the future. Now that I think of it, we really need to try and get Urhost to teach us what he knows of Giantish, maybe in exchange for a sum of our loot. And once we're back at our tent getting our equipment, we need to switch to a pair of clean pants.
>>
>>2338379
Yes, learning that language could be useful
>>2338360
Liking that title mah dude
>>
>>2338391

Good for insults and taking the piss out of moonies too. Come to think of it, we must seem like a midget giant to Bur-Lun. I mean, we're as large to him as Keera is to us, and that's probably a first for him.
>>
>>2338295
>accept offer of Bur-Lun's friendship

If you have the option of being friends with a giant who can punt armored warriors like a football and crush gates like a cardboard box, therefore opening inroads with him and his family of equaly strong giants, I say yes because that is a deal you don't just pass up.

>>

So? Doesnt mean we cant learn it
Im sure qm writes it in English so we can understand what he says if we do learn the language
>>
>>2338516
I don't think that's the point anon.

From a narrative standpoint Bur Lun and the giants speak a different language than Magnus one which he does not understand. The giants are powerful and hate the Moon lords and seem to be pissed off enough that they are planning some form of attack on the moon lords.

Urhist can translate but being able to communicate on our own behalf to potential giant allies is very useful.

It's not a problem anon I understood your point the lines of giant dialogue are just some vaguely put together words that sound like they would be kinda gutteral as giantish is described as sounding. I doubt that the qm had just made a constructed language for this quest as it is unecessary for him to do so.

Hey Warlord how numerous are the crag wolves. What is their maximum military capacity? if we were to become chieften and unite all the tribes in and around the shattered peaks how many warriors would we command.
>>
>>2341517
The crag wolves are pretty numerous, a decently sized tribe with about 900 members total, about 1/2 that number being warriors. Men and women both know how to fight and hunt with men going out on raids and women training more for aiding the defense of the Crag and whatnot. Military units are arranged in groups of 30 except for really unique units which are in groups of 5-10. There are dozens of tribes, several giant clans, groups of ogres and trolls, etc. If you managed to combine all the forces of the Shattered Peaks into one force? Easily in the high thousands.
>>
>>2341630
Where do the crag wolves stand in the pecking order among the human tribes? Are the crag wolves among the largest and most poweful or are they a typical tribe that isn't particularly strong?
>>
>>2341683
Crag Wolves are a important and powerful tribe due to their numbers, centrally strategic location, skilled warriors and history.
>>
>>2341753
How many Moon Lords are there?
>>
>>2340563

>tfw you want to post your crickets gif again but can't

anybody feel like Magnus needs an axe? I feel like we could use an axe. A one-handed axe, maybe for throwing.
>>
>>2342991
You know I remember that when games workshop came up with the cult of ulric and middenland list the Ar-Ulric had this really interesting weapon called Blitzbeil the Hammer-axe of Skoll. It was named after the legendary weapon of Ulric but it was exactly as its name described a big axe head on one side and a hammer head on the other.

We already have a sword spear hybrid why not a axe hammer hybrid?
>>
>>2343032
Much as I like that idea, and don't get me wrong, we can do that, I feel like we need a throwing weapon of some kind, and throwing axes are supreme.
>>
>>2343081
True. They can be used both in melee and as a thrown weapon and in comparison to arrows or spears they tend to survive being used even if you can't carry many of them.

Although in magnus' case his massive size and strength would allow him to carry quite a few throwing axes.
>>
>>2342991
>>2343081

I agree completely, while there's no need to switch our signature hammer with a great axe, throwing axe cheap-shots are completely in-line with the "honorless dirty fighter" aesthetic we've got going on, and there's no reason not to keep a short-hafted axe in reserve, in-case our primary weapons.

>>2343032

I don't really think attaching an axe blade to our hammer's head is a good idea, it'd lessen its armor penetration and it's already more than lethal enough against unarmored upponents. However, I think it would be an excellent idea to attach a spike to the top of the hammer's head, for use in two-hand stabs to the stomach.
>>
>>2343144
Maybe we could use a poleaxe with a combo of axe, hammer and a big metal spike at the top?

Although I admit it would really out of place as the poleaxe is considered a knightly weapon so it would likely clash with Magnus' barbarian aesthetic
>>
>>2343148
>>
>>2343149
Hey man you don't gotta do me like that I get the point, but a weapon is a weapon and a poleaxe is a pretty cool weapon bith in terms of functionality and appearance.
>>
>>2343148

I don't think Arch "Gate-Crasher" Magnus would wield a poleaxe instead of his hammer, though I think there's merit to the idea of attaching an axe-blade and sharpened hook to the battle-spear, basically a barbarian's one-handed halberd designed for hacking, hooking, and gouging as opposed to the typical more civilised footman's finer slicing, hooking, and stabbing.

>>2343156

Accidentally replied, not trying to be an ass.
>>
>>2343160
eh no worries, your suggestion for modifying the battle spear sounds pretty cool I just wish the new thread would pop up.

I usually lurk most of the time, but I actually like how this quest is developing you don't get much of a pulp fiction sword and sorcery type quest very often, so a quest that scratches that itch is hard to find.
>>
>>2343168

Yeah I hear you, Sword & Sorcery is my shit. It's a bit higher fantasy than I'm used to but I'm really digging the tribal theme to how we're seeing the setting and the strategy and dueling aspect has me nostalgic as hell for Orc Warlord Quest, which is great. As for the new thread, OP said he was incredibly drunk a few hours ago and he's likely not in any state to finish the update and post a conclusion to the thread. Hopefully we'll see one tomorrow but with quests, you never know.
>>
>>2343180
Yeah I'm bummed because I'll probably won't have time to actually contribute to the thread because I won't get home till later in the afternoon. I'll probably miss voting on some stuff.
>>
>>2343192

We've all agreed headed back to the Crag after this, so it's probably just going to be divvying up our loot for weapons upgrades and armor, which we've already mostly agreed on. I've got my day-job, so I won't be able to reply either so don't worry, you're not alone anon.
>>
>>2343168
>>2343180
My melanin-enriched brethren. Sword'n'sorcery is the best fantasy aesthetic, and yeah, this quest is badass. Kudos to you, OP.

Also yeah, we need a hefty fuck axe. Something that an ordinary man would never be able to throw effectively, hits like a train, sends peons flying, etc.
>>
>>2343219

How 'bout just a regular throwing axe, just scaled up for our size? Basically double the weight, being flung at the same speed. Unless we want to go for regular throwing axes, but concealed so we can quickly fling them into our enemies before they reach melee, but I think throwing knives might be better for that.
>>
>>2343225
Well yeah, but a 'throwing axe' for us is another man's main battle axe. That's all I'm saying, ya dig? I think just the one (maybe two) would be fine; that's a weapon we use to soften the target as we close distance, or to peg a fleeing enemy, so we're unlikely to need lots of ammo - either the guy's out of range or dead in the latter instance, or we've closed and engaged with the meathammer or the fuckspear in the former instance.
>>
Since we are going back to the crag has anyone thought of whether we want to return to raiding villages or go after MoonLord soldier outposts, or begin our tribal conquests?
>>
>>2343257

I kinda feel like we should go for another village sweep and build-up on loot, then use the proceeds to upgrade our equipment and then try to start our tribal conquest.
>>
>>2343257
What >>2343271 said. Campaigns are costly, and it doesn't hurt to start with a hefty warchest.
>>
>>2343299
Yeah I can get behind that and when we encounter the other tribes we can flash our stacks of loot to convinve them that we know what were doing or at least give the conquered a consolation by telling them that if they stick with us and fight well they can get good loot as well.
>>

5 major moon lords, all subservient to Lord Caius Elloxes "Grand Protector of the Valley of the Moon, Lord Captain of the Brotherhood of the Crescent and Grandmaster of the Moonlight Paladins". Each one of those Moon Lords has several Lieutenants under their command. If lord Caius calls all his banners to war, he could easily field twenty to thirty thousand men, horses and siege weaponry
>>
>>2341794
The crag is located smack dab in the middle of the Valley of the Moon, extending upwards like a giant middle finger to all on a tongue of mountains jutting into the valley. The reason those villages had mostly been left alone is that the crag wolves had, until recently, been raiding smaller tribes instead of risking the moon lords wrath.

>Accept offer of Friendship
>Magnus gains title "Brother to Giants"

You look at the massive fist extended to you, the knuckles the size of a blacksmiths sledgehammer, crossed with scars and calluses the density of armor. Bur-Lun looks to you hopefully, a smile revealing his large, square teeth. Deciding that you never have too many friends, you extend your own fist, pressing it against Bur-Luns to a nod from Urhost.

"Well now that's a fine honor. They named me Giant-Friend during my winter with them but that was more of a formality really"
Urhost pats you on the back as Bur-Lun grins broadly and goes back to packing his haul away. You follow Urhost's lead and press your fists together in what he tells you is the polite way to say hello and farewell for giants. As you walk, Urhost gives you a small lesson on how to deal with giant culture, warning you that while the Shepherds and common giants were mostly agreeable, their elders and chieftans were, in his words, "some right touchy cunts".

Bidding the Veteran raider farewell, you peek into the former mayors comfortable home, the men having passed by its ransacking as you had claimed it. The door squeaks softly as you open it fully, Ducking under the door frame and grinning as you take notice that someone had been awake and eaten what remained of the food.

"Keera! Get out here!"
You call out, impatient already with your new thrall. You hear a terrified yelp from the bedroom and chuckle as you hear the blankets be thrown back
"If you're that unwilling to leave the bedroom I can come in and join you my kitten"
You laugh, crossing your arms as you lean against the door frame.

"Nonononono please. Please! Im coming!"
She yelps, darting into the main room with an obvious limp. She stands before you, her eyes wide and panting in fear. You admire the fact that her clothes have been repaired from their, ungentle treatment, to the best of her ability. Glimpses of soft skin and feminine curves are visible through the gaps in the fabric.
"Um.. How.. Uh... How was your night Magn-um..m-master? Sir? Please im sorry don't hurt me"

You can't help but grin at Keera's nervousness, the petite thief nearly wringing her hands in anxiety as she fidgets from foot to foot
"I don't care much what you call me kitten. Magnus, Master, Giant Fuck, as long as you behave and do as you're told Im happy."
You decide a gentle smile is the best way to calm Keera but the thief seems even more nervous than before
"What... What do you want? Or need? Did I-did i do something wrong? A-are you gonna... Do... That.. Again?"
She nearly looks like she is about to faint as she hugs her chest, unintentionally drawing your eye.

You shake your head, chuckling at her nervousness, reaching out you stroke the terrified girls hair.
"Relax. Now is not the time for fear. That comes later"

She seems at least partially calmed, nodding to herself before blinking, looking at you curiously.
"Later? What do you mean later?"

You step out the door, gesturing for Keera to follow
"Time for us to leave my kitten. Follow me"

You climb up atop a wagon, Keera standing nervously by its base and look across the bustle and chaos of the village, your men having stripped every scrap of value from its confines. Some buildings have been torn down, others burn. The corpses of the fallen defenders lay piled, flies buzzing merrily atop their brutalized bodies.

You take a deep breaths, filling your lungs and bellowing out fiercely.
"CRAG WOLVES! LISTEN UP DOGS! We have raided and plundered, fought and killed! We have much plunder and many Thralls to return home with and so we shall! The servants of the moon lords will arrive too late, never having laid their eyes upon us!"

Your men cheer as you leap down, shouldering your pack and smacking Keera on her soft rear as she squeals
"Come along kitten. Were going home"
