Let ,e know when you guys are here.

Uhm, if we want to talk to grandpa, we can either go into the deeper dungeon, or wait for him to come out for lunch. Assuming the old man eats, because at this point who knows anymore.

"Does grandfather usually comes for lunch?"
"Yes, the master enjoys eating with everyone at home when possible, but that's still some hours away." - explain Tupac
"I see. In that case, I will come back for lunch."
"Very well, would you like anything especial?"

Oh right, Lyann is waiting for us to bring lunch, too. She said she wanted Alquian or Eopolitan, right?

>Bring her over for lunch. May be a bit rude to Grumnir and Miiyau to leave them along on the boat, though.

Well, we can at least carry takeout to our buddies on the boat. It is said that dwarves rather like sea food (because of living in a mediterranean kingdom, it is a luxury to them), and it may be racist, but Miiyau is a cat, so, she likes fish, right?

Thus, we stop by a certain fishery restaurant our harpies love, and buy several plates of fresh catch-of-the-day dishes for our friends. It'll keep fresh in our [Item Box], so that's something taken care of.

Well, looks like we still have some time, I wonder if we're forgetting something...? Ah... shit.

Lyann told us to go 'home' to Alquia and show our face around Mako & co, didn't she? Well, it's a bit too late for that now. They've surely gone about their day by now.

Uhmm...

Alright, let's see, then. Tanis, Fahima, Lyra, Krabby and the hikikomori dragon should be good for a power run in order to gather some exp.

Plus, deeper levels in the dungeons mean better loot, anyway.

We head over to the Adventurer's Guild after the restaurant, and buy a keystone for one of the deepest floors, ie floor 400.

The clerk looks at us funny... well it can't be helped, he's looking at a 14 years old kid who also happens to be alone.

He tries to explain the danger to us, but in the end, its his job to sell it to us, so he has no choice but to do so. Well, he's a good guy, so lets not hold it against him.

Uhmm should we visit the old graveyard, a undead infested dungeon, or the western dungeon, which is mostly sea-type monsters?

>>Beach

Well, even if it is advertised as a beach-type dungeon, its a dungeon, which means underground.

And so, we pop up in the 'safe room' of the Western Foodgeon's 400th floor. Well, this deep, it isn't really a foodgeon anymore.

By the way, you can get [Archer Clams] in the first floor, which basically shoot water spray at those who try to pick on them. The seafood plates we're taking to Grumnir and Miiyau are mostly clams boiled in liquor, as well as [Golden Salmon] and [Greasy Tuna], which are found from the floor 20th and onwards, so its quite the variety of sea food delicacies...

Anyway!

The 'room' is a natural cavern with a tall-enough roof we cannot see it by just looking up in the dungeon's dark, with a floor that is as much humid and compact sand as it is water, making the sandy areas look like tiny islands in a diminutive sea.

The walls are quite rough black stone, with the typical [Dungeon Fungus] growing on them, though a saltwater variety. The fungos glows like a candle, giving some soft light to dungeons everywhere.

Alright, time to call out the pets... my first thought was to call out Tanis, Atroma, Lyra, Fahuma, and Krabby, but should we take the chance to powerlevel someone?

We could replace either
>Tanis
>Atroma
>Krabby
>Lyra
>Fahima

with

>Crema
>Moccha
>Sykia
>Tien
>Miel II

...after all

It is quite the deep floor though, so they could quite easily get 1-shot if we aren't careful, though. Well, worst case scenario we won't be able to summon them again for a day, so its not as worrying.

I think

Poor Krabby.

***

Alright, Tien's level isn't that low, so she should be able to endure this deep in the dungeon as long as we pay attention to her.

Well, she's been acting as a tank/bruiser so far, but she's 1/2 faery, so she should have magic available to her as well. This is as good a chance as any for her to start using it anyway.

"Alright, we'll go with myself and Tanis and Atroma in the front line, followed by Tien, Lyra and Fahima in the rear."
"""""Yes Master"""""

We nod with a smile, and equip each girl with their harnesses, adding a set of basic 'monster weapons' to each of them, as well as raising their defensive stats.

Other than that, they all have accessories granting them [Absorb Fire] and [Water Breathing], so we are free to spam fire AoE attacks as a way to both deal damage and heal everyone at once.

They sure look nice. Ah, I guess we should get them some better gear, but monster gear drops so rarely that we only have the one [Weapon] in our inventory.

Well, we could pick one of them to equip it on, anyway.

[Legendary][Dryrs Sting] (5 slots)

"Stretch forth your arms." - we take out the 'sting' from our [Item Box] after removing Tanis right 'weapon' - "Uhmm... somehow, it doesn't wants to get in place."

Right, it said 'one attack per round,' did it not? We dettach Tanis' other 'sting' and then the new one is attached without problems.

"Eh... does it feel awkward? I guess it migh unbalance you?"
"Is fine. With my strenght, it makes no difference to begin with."
"Alright."

We are about to pat her head, but our lewd dragoness is more the type to smirk at us if we do so, thus we kiss her instead.

"Eh? I don't mind if you want to do some weird play, but going into a dungeon and getting us all equipped first, what did you have in mind?"

This time we karate chop her head instead.

"I just thought I'd kiss you. I'm not planning anything lewd right now."
"Poo... boring."

Well, with our battle formations already decided, we step out of the [Safe Room] into the dungeon.

The hallways look like natural caverns, though the rough walls keep a mostly straight line. Should I say its just a dungeon with a 'natural cavern skin' on it?

Anyway, we almost immediately run into a group of five [Foizomu Octopus], large and almost invisible monsters that mimic their enviroment even as they move or fight.

The ones in the front use their arms as an hydra would use its heads, the barbs and suckers on them clearly dangerous, while the two at the back shoot water spray at high speeds, gouging out the walls wherever they hit, yet somehow perfectly missing their companions.

honestly, i didnt notice. My eyesight genuinely didnt notice. Well, I guess we can just keep the black one around in the future, then.

Btw, while the 'stinger' ignores defense, it is meant to hit just once per round. Thats why it also adds damage as if it had hit three times,

Well, it is a bit of a problem since it means Tanis can't use milti attacks anymore, even if we get her items that add attacks per turn to her.

Well, she doesnt has any of those right now, so its not really a problem at this time, I guess.

With a dragon's strenght behind her blow, Tanis easily pierces through the body of the [Foizomu Octopus] in front of her.

No, rather than being related to her strenght, it is probably the effect of the sting itself. It ignores the target's defense, after all.

The octopus instantly turns a sickly green, and seems to shrink or wither a little bit, while the other two frontliners endure ours and Tien's blows much better.

Lyra and Fahima use spells, but it surprises absolutely noone that the water monsters are resistant to water, though the large flame wave spell Fahima releases seems to work wonders on them, though not to the extent of wiping them out.

Considering that we are all equipped with [Absorb Fire] accessories, perhaps it would be better if Fahima used her AoE spells after the enemy counter attacks, thus healing us while damaging them.

And indeed, they counterattack as best they can.

The one that was poisoned by Tanis shrivels up and dies, having taken the first tick of damage, but the rest attack us roughly at the same time.

We take about 70 points of damage from the octopus in front of us, and then Atroma takes a considerable harder blow.

Meanwhile, the other two shoot at Fahima, dealing some heavy damage to our fire elemental with their water jets.

Finally it is Tien's turn, and she uses her faery magic to cause the algae in the water to shoot upwards and deal cutting damage to the backliners.

"Y-yes!" - she answers quickly

As this round begins, Tanis takes a deep breath, and releases her breath against the octopuses in the back.

A blast of dragon's fire hits them and evaporates the water beyond, filling the hallway with hot steam.

One of the two octopuses in the back falls dead, while the other is obviously on its last leg.

"E-eh!? I can't...?" - she exclaims surprised

Later, she'll tell us that she wanted to physically attack the one we were fighting with, but found that the 'stinger' refused to. Indeed, it only lets her attack once per round, total.

We cast a [fireball] on top of ourselves, healing our group and further damaging the enemy. The second octopus backliner drops dead, and Fahima looks much better.

Atroma hits the octopus before her once with each of her arm stingers, and it turns into loot.

Lyra blasts the octopuses with an ice javelin instead, and it does damage normally.

Fahima uses another [fireball] and ends the fight, taking down the last of the octopuses.

Uhmm... we got

[Legendary][Kraken's Touch] (4 slots)
Two Handed Flail
300 Damage
+1125 Strength
All damage dealt is [Water] type damage.

Uhmm... that's the single highest strenght bonus we've ever seen, but what should we think about this? Our sword is way more flexible and lets us leech HP and MP per blow, so perhaps we'll just sell this thing?

[Legendary][Kraken Meat] x3
* Grants Water Breathing
* Greants Regeneration (100hp/round for 1 hour)

I know legendary in this world just refers to a thing overall quality, but I really want to retort that if you can farm it, then it isn't really legendary, you know?

That being said, even raw, it gives fairly good bonuses, but I'm not sure I want to put this thing in my mouth. I like fried octopus, but raw is a little...

Let's take it home later and see if Ellie can cook it, I guess.

>>>From now on, have Fahima wait until after the monsters attack to use fire spells.

Oh, come think of it, we do have a new dragon pet... well, the party is currently full, anyway.

Anyway, Fahima will start delaying her spells until after the enemy attacks, so she can heal the group as she attacks with AoE spells.

And so, we keep advancing for a while, fighting more water-type monsters, the most interesting one being of course the floor boss, a [Keg Clam]

Honestly, it feels weird. It is a huge clam sitting in the middle of the room, with a floating number on top of it.

10
It spawns a little horde of [Razor Clams] that spin around and fly everywhere, with sharp edges all around them.

Well, even so, they're annoying because they move like a big swarm rather than individuals, but on the plus side, we can still block them and none of them slip past to our backliners.

9
A few AoE Fire spells take out the [Razor Clams], but the floor boss keeps spamming them.

8
Just like before, more [Razor Clams] burst forth out of thin air. I guess this is how the boss attacks? But that number... don't tell me it's a bomb? Well, if it was to explode, it would literally heal us, though.

7
6
5....

We manage to take out the [Razor Clams] the moment they come out, and rush the boss.

As expected, its quite tough. It feels a bit weird to see the whole huge thing turn green when Tanis pokes it with her stinger. Also, it just sinks into the thing as if it was made of foam and leaves a nice sting-shaped hole into it.

Well, her weapon 'ignores defense' so I guess that feels about right. But for a tank-type for, it sure must be a pain in the ass.

4
3
2...

It keeps spamming the little clams non stop. A really annoying monster.

1

It opens all of a sudden, and a weird looking, pink blobl of flesh starts flailing around and hitting us while [Razor Clams] continue to appear.

Ugh, its attacks actually hurt quite a bit, you know? It just slams against us from on high, and smashes us into the ground.

It actually takes a full round to recover and get up, so you can take it as a round-long [disable] skill/attack combo.

Plus the damage is nothing to scoff at.

>Let some of our pets lure its heavy slam so we can focus on damage
>Try and lure its attacks so our monsters can attack it
>Other

>>Try and lure its attacks so our monsters can attack it
>>
>>2352917

Jesus this thing hits hard. If we didn't had ridiculous amounts of HP, I think each of its slams should count as a bomb.

A count of 10 is totally overpowered. I would give it at least a 100, you know!?

As it causes us to bounce against the floor like we were a basketball, our cute pets do their best to pour attacks against it, and finally manage to bring it down after half a dozen more rounds.

Boring? Nah, it wasn't boring. I would rather call it horrifying. I am genuinely surprised our armor isn't dented with us inside. Thank you gods for the hp system, because I think anyone would have died from that if this was any other world.

(roll 1d100 3 times... i guess roll 3d100)

Alright which one of you guys stole the idea from my Cop & Elf thread? Im not mad. Im genuinely chuckling

An elf girl is transported to another world and becomes a public servant, and for a sample:

"Currently it is applying for adoption, and soon it will be officially named Ellrula Zafira · Philsila · Akutsuka" (after being adopted into a japanese family) but they call her Ellie for short.

A rather large swarm of treasure chests spills forth from the creature as it dies, rolling along the floor and over each other, riding on a small flood of coins, gems, art objects and weapons, as well as a single card.

"... thirteen, fourteen treasure chests." - comments Atroma
"It had killed that many adventurer groups?"

Right. When a party is killed by a boss, its items are 'stacked' into the boss' 'drop' until it is finally defeated. Thus, what we're looking at here is the results from over a dozen parties being wuped out in this room.

No wonder this was the deepest anyone had gone into the dungeon in years. Well, it seems grandpa has a keystone leading down to floor 600, but that old man is such a monster that you can't really count him anymore.

22 [Fine][Emerald]
15 [Fine][White Opal]
7 [Fine][Black Opal]
11 [Fine][Fire Opal]
61 [Fine][Blue Sapphire]
111 [Good][Rich purple corundum]

1 [Runic][Star Ruby]

There's also a [Legendary][Motherpearl Carving] showing each party members in exquisite detail, each about 6 inches tall in various combat poses.

Ours looks like it just got smashed on the floor. Its true that we mostly tanked the thing, but I seriously take issue with this, you know? C-couldn't it be us steading ourselves behind our shield, instead?

Oh, finally a new Stinger-class weapon.

[Runic][Nadite's Sting] (6 slots)

Two-Hand Damage: 3000
Durability: 30
Spear Class - Fast Attack Speed (4 attacks ´per round)
+200% Enhanced Damage
+200 To Attack

Poison Resist +50%
15% Chance To Cast Level 9 [Poison Chain] On Striking

That damage is insane, but... this is the first time we've EVER seen a weapon with a 'durability' rating. That... nah, this isn't Diablo, it wouldn't be, right?

Right?

*sweat drop*

I got the bad feeling it is. 30 hits and its gone forever. That kind of thing.

There's also a swarm of "lesser" magical weapons, armors, amulets, accessories and such inside the chests.

Ah, there's a pretty nice pet harness. I think this is the first time we've seen a magical harness, too.

Is someone messing with us? It has the [Gains] enhancement we wanted to talk to grandfather about.

[Gains] Your attribute gain upon leveling up is doubled, but you cannot be healed by magical means. You cannot be resurrected.

Uhmm, these probably have artistic value, though we're not the artsy type. Maybe we should just keep them as memorabilia?

Ours is going to dissapear, though.

Well, let's go down so we can register the next floor on the keystone, and go deliver Grumnir and Miiyau's lunch while picking up Lyann.

The next floor is similar to the one above, but there are deep cavities in the walls. Yeah those seem to be screaming 'ambush' so loudly its not even funny.

"Ugh... are the walls on this floor all going to be like these?" - Tanis obviously agrees with our assesment.
"Well, we're going back for now, so its a mistery for later."

We use the keystone to return to the adventurer's guild as soon as we find the saferoom in this floor. By the way, its hard to be sneaky in plate armor.

Should we perhaps look for stealth-type oet?

"Eopolitan. Sea food."
"Oooh, nice. I hope you brought some liquor as well."
"Ah... well, the clams are boiled in liquor."
"I guess it'll have to do." - he says with a serious expression

With that, we go into the cockpit proper and find Lyann and Miiyau talking while Lyann steers the ship.

Once we explain to her that we are taking her to lunch with grandpa, she seems quite happy about it, as she has still to stop by the office today and ask for the extra log of today's business.

Right, she keeps a sharp eye on the shipyards and the shipping company finances when she's not working on her thesis... is it really alright to drag her off on this trip just to keep us company?

Well, if we asked her, she'd say its fine. Pretty much guaranteed.

Well, we go change and then leave for lunch. She's wearing a cute combination of a silk kamisk with a bright white sash around her waist, and short stockings and gloves, with her hair pulled up in two ponytails that fall freely behind her almost to her thighs.

It feels very dancer-like, flowing and feminine.

We tried but failed, to get her not to wear her collar and cuffs, though.

Anyway, we [Treestride] over to the manor for lunch, and find that grandfather has already arrived.

*Hhrmph!*

We are standing next to Lyann while waiting for grandfather to react, but he just continues organizing the... it hasnt been a closet in years, has it? Armory? Would Armory be a better word?

"Grandfather."

Nope, no use. Looks like he's even in the middle of some sort of crisis as he squeezes his head in between this massive hands with a worried expression.

"Lord Baldric " - Lyann call is almost song-like
"Hey, gramps." - we chime in from the side
"Oh, and old klady is in trouble~!" - chirps in Lyann with a slightly worried tone
"What?!" - oh, he turned around right away

What's with that reaction. You want to be a hero that much, why don't you join the city watch and do some rounds around the market district?

Then again, I get the feeling he'd end up uncovering some huge conspiracy, or in a fight with some thieves guild or something ridiculous like that, you know? This old man has such a stupidly huge main character-like air around himself, after all.

"Hello, grandfather."
"Hello, mylord."
"Hm? Oh, its you kids. How are you doing? Tapac told me you wanted to talk to me about some equipment or another, so I thought i'd organize the broom closet, you know?"

I get the feeling it may have been a broom closet about 50 years ago, before he started throwing in loot inside. No, in a way, it would be even scarier if there was still a broom in there. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it had sucked up the auras from all the stuff in there and was a Vorpal Broom +12 or something retarded like that by now.

"You are most considerate, my lord." - Lyann replies seriously

Ah, please don't encourage him.

"Is that so? Hahaha! You heard that, Eldric? Your cute friend says I'm quite admirable!"
"...yes, yes. You may even be of interest to science." - in monotone
"What's that? You wanted to sparr for a bit? That's fine, I can brind you back after you die, you know?"
"My lord, we are sadly pressed for time, so could we have the conversation now? We have to leave shortly after lunch, too..."
"Uhm. Alright, so, what was it you wanted to know?"
"It was about the [Gains] enchantment."

What grandpa tells us confirms what we already know, and expands on it a little bit. You need to wear it constantly for it to have an effect, through the whole level you are currently at.

"If you want to equip it, you better to so after you are tough enough, and used to managing your hp, you see? It is important to know how much damage you can take, considering how far you've gone, and how much you got for the trip back." - says grandpa

It seems he uses it in tandem with a equipment that enhances natural healing overnight, though.

We ask him for an accessory with [Gains], and one with the enhanced natural healing, and thus end with a ring and a bracelet.

"The bracelet only enhances overnight healing, so you can just wear it before you go to bed." - says grandpa.

Hm...

There must be a better way to use [Gains]. We can use buffing spells to reduce the damage we take, to make magical healing unnecessary. But the problem is the No Resurrection part. We need to find some way to break it, or get around it somehow.

"Miss Euphrasyne did?"
Grandpa nods

And so, we're staying for dinner. Uncle Wolfric is having lunch near the office, as usual, wether that office is in the keep or at the shypyards, it doesn't makes much difference in that sense.

Right now its us, Lyann and grandfather before a huge table with several main dishes.

Grandpa says a few words of thanks to the goddess, while Lyann quietly says her own, and we start to eat.

"The bird is delicious, miss Euphrasyne, but I can't tell the type of bird. Which one is it?" - Lyann comments after a bite

Indeed, it just says [Seven Herbs Turkey] and the chances that it is a vanilla, run of the mill turkey are... rather low.

"Thank you for your praise, miss. It is [Fine][Tyusked Turkey], a 25th level monster drop from the western dungeon."
"Isn't that the beach dungeon? How come...?"
"It is a beach-like environment, but there is a sparse woodland in some levels, and so woodland monsters are not impossible to get."

Lyann nods thankfully, and continues eating.

The meal is indeed delicious, By the end, we have four different buffs... its a bit of a shame that they only lasts for 2 hours, because some look pretty good, actually.

"And finally, dessert." - says nana Eiphrayne as she pushes in a food cart with a white and golden cake on top.

Its cold. Its icecream cake

"The dwarves are using a new magic tool to chill their liquor." - explains our head maid - "So I thought I would try and see what it can offer in the kitchen."

She serves several thin slices to each of us, so that it comes out as a pretty thick slive, with arrangements. I guess its about presentation?

"Ah" - Lyann seems rather surprised as she covers her mouth with her free hand.

Hm. Its rare to see her give off such a regular girlish reaction. She usually tries really hard to be a perfect lady unless we're alone.

She may actually have a little of a leftover complex about being with us... ah, no, its more like, she definitively has one, doesn't she?

"Its delish!" - she says happily as soon as she swallows it down
"Thank you miss, I am thinking on how to call it. Perhaps cool cream?"

"Uhm? Orc cooks? There is an excellent restaurant in the 2nd district that has an all orc kitchen staff, I could make reservations for you if you so desire, young master."
"That would be nice, thank you."

She says that it will probably be alright if we have dinner there tomorrow night, and happily arranges icecream cuts for our friends.

Thankfully, the [Item Box] is enough to keep it from melting until it is time to serve it.

Well, since nana Ephrasyne is arranging for us to go to an excellent retaurant (we explain that we want to talk to the chef), we should probably head back to the boat now.

"Well... hmm..." - she blushes softly
"What is it?"
"I-i... my parents were common folks. I mean, my dad was a knight, so he was minor nobility, but I did not live with them for long, and all I learned from them was normal, every day customs."

She seems quite worried, and pauses for a bit.

"Then, I lived in the soldier's barracks, where immoral actions were commited every night. It was certainly not the enviroment to learn good manners."
"What about after you came to live with us? I am quite sure mom teaches proper manners to everyone."
"Ah..."

Well, our mom was a commoner, so while she knows the good manners of common society, she probably isn't comfortable in high society, though. That was one of the reasons our parents left the capital to begin with, but... uhm, I can't think of mom as anything but an elegant young wife.

"Well... but, I'm still a bit worried. We've always run around as adventurers, so it wasn't that important, but I have always, always been worried about embarrasing you, so I studied on my o-"
"There's no way I'd ever be embarrased by you."
"But-"
"No. Never."
"Fuu~ Eldric is unfair..."

She smiles a little, but seems more calm now.

"Still, my body is all muscular and unfeminine, isn't it?"

Eh? If Lyann's body is not feminine, then what is a woman to begin with? That's just --- ah, its her complex, isn't it?

"There's no way that is true. Lyann is the prettiest, most feminine girl!"
"M-my skin is tanned, though?"
"I like it that way!"
"A-and my body is firm all over..."
"I like it!"
"And I don't have any hairstyle other than ponytails."
"That's because that's what I like. Lyann is the perfect girl for my tastes."
"Fuu~ is-is that so?"
"Yes, definitively."
"...alright." - shes smiling while blushing apple red, now.

"Ah, but..." - she looks at her hands

Well, she's an adventurer, so she handles weapons, gets abrasions, and has to do plenty of manual work. Even so, I her appearance score is sky high, so I think her hands are just as pretty as everything else in her.

"My nails are short." - she says all of a sudden
"Eh?"
"I-in high society, it is normal for fine ladies to have long nails."
"Is that so?"

None of the girls we know of have long nails, though? I think... ah, there's actually some?!

Mako, Aritsu, Dawn, and Zoe, all have rather long nails, I think. As does Ren and Kya.

Well, if it is about hand care, it'd make sense that the high-born girls would know about it, but Dawn is the odd one in the group, isn't she?

More to the fact, Mako is a monk, you know? I mean, her primary means of attack is to make things explode by punching them. Ah, but both her and Ren probably have access to all sorts of care products.

I'm pretty sure their nails aren't that long, though. Just long enough that they're clearly a girl's.

Aritsu is mostly a caster. Kya is a caster too, plus I'm pretty sure she's always taken care of by Dusk.

And Dawn... well, our slutty blueberry is just odd in a lot of ways. Her cup size changes accordingly to her current MP, so if she said "they just grow!" I feel like I could just nod and accept it.

As usual, we suddenly intrude unto Yin while she's neck-deep in work, but she's happy to see us and quickly asks us to check and sign some documents.

Well, thankfully, these are all reports, rather than requests, though, so we don't need to consider them too hard.

The new aquascience lab is finally complete and the sages are moving to the site already.

The new Palladium(*) material production means have been settled, and while slow, we are able to produce a regular amount of it now.

After approving the budget for the troop movement unto the jade islands previous to the invasion of the [ERROR]s, we are done with signing up stuff, so we head over to check on Ren.

She's happy to see us. Having a small lunch of fruits and noodles in the hall before the imperial garden, she looks rather cute as she is wearing a princess-loike robe in white with pink flower petals all over it, and a delicate head ornament with plenty of thin 'branches' spreading out from the back of her head, somewhat similarly to a peach's tree branches.

"Eh?" - she looks a bit confused when we explain what Lyann is worried about, then continues after thinking about it for a moment - "They're not that long, you know? Our royal self also trains with the spear, and play the guzheng, you know? If they were too long, it'd be a bother. Our royal self also need to read through documents, sign them, and enjoy the arts, such as paint and calligraphy. If our nails were long, we could do none of those things, you know?"

We naturally look towards her hands. Indeed, they're long, but not too long. I guess we would compare them to the nails of an office lady?

"Isn't that long enough?" - we turn to Lyann
"But... high society ladies in Eopolis always have longer nails, you know?"

At this point, Ren interjects again.

*sigh* "Listen, do you know what those nails mean? We enjoy your friendship, thus we will tell you."
"P-please do."
"They mean 'I am a successful, kept woman, everyone look at how kept I am.' It has such a meaning."
"?"
"With long nails, you cannot work. You cannot even sew or write. With long enough nailos, you cannot even dress yourself. Long enough nails are a way to say 'look at how successful I am. I do not need to work, I am wealthy enough that everything is done for me.' Is that clear enough? Honestly, we do cannot take such a person seriously."
"So it was like that... but... your nails are still much longer and more feminine than mine. Isn't that a good lenght?"
"You clip your nails, don't you?"
"Y-yes... as you said, they would be in the way when I am working at home, and in combat, they would break and splinter all the time."
"You can either use a hardening oil. That should be enough as long as thou do not grow them overly large." - says Ren
"But... I need them long before tomorrow night..."

"In that case, just use prostetics. As I said, long enough nails are a way of saying 'look how kept (pampered) I am' precisely because they demand excessive care and then to break with the lightest work. But, you are still bound to at some point break them, aren't you? Even if it was just because thou slept on your hand, there's a chance they will break, and thus fake prosthetics should be available in the market. Of course, they're expensive, but it also depends on the lenght. Already having said as much, we would recommend thou do not bother with such things at all. We would be quite dissapointed if the duke was to be the type to bother about such things. Just wear the highest class adventurer gear you have, well polished and taken care of. We do not know what brought this up, but it is surely some social event. Thou would be fine as long as you make clear thou are strong, correct? For adventurers, wearing ostentatious equipment is their own way of saying 'look how successful I am' after all."

Honestly, as long as she's willing to give up her spear training, calligraphy, music and painting hobbies, Ren could have 9-inch nails if she felt like it, couldn't she? "A-as your partner, I would feel awful if people thought bad of you because of me, so..."

As if that was possible! - Is what I'd like to say but, its what she wants, so its fine.

We thank Ren and wander around the merchant district of Mantequira for a while. As it is a nation oriented towards females over males, it is quite easy to find female-oriented shops for healthcare, fashion or accessories, and we purchase for her some nice sculpted ruby prosthetic nails..

"Ah, if I paste them, they're not supossed to come off for a few days..." - says Lyann while looking at them
"Is fine, you can just put them on before the dinner, and I don't really care afterwards. You can grow your own and use some strengthening oil, like Ren said."
"Nh." - she nods softly

Well, with that, we head back to the ship, and apologize to our friends for taking so long.

Lyann shows the nails to Miiyau, whom makes a rather wry grin when she sees them, but doesn't says anything bad.

"Well, I think that we need to make better time than we've been making, so tonight I'll steer the ship all night, alright?"
"You sure, kiddo?" - says Griumnir looking at us
"Yeah, I'm young, a night up won't hurt."
"Indeed, its nice ta be young. I remember plenty of all nighters when I was just starting to craft as well... alright."

And so, we continue to take shifts through the rest of the day, and at night, step into the cockpit while the rest go to bed.

Well, to be honest, we're having trouble seeing the terrain at night, but its not as if we're totally blind.

As long as there's no cloudy weather, we shouldn't crash into a mountain or anything dumb like that. Well, if the night gets cloudy enough that we can't see where we're going, we'll stop, though.

Ah, its fine if we do something else while steering, right? Like talking with Asmund and Okaba through the linked journal. As it is, turns out Asmund doesn't really sleeps, and Okaba is good at staying up all night.

Uhm. I feel like there's several reasons our majin friend would 'have to' stay up all night, but let's not go too deep into that. To be honest, I hope he and Aura are as happy together as Lyann and we are.

"Eldric, I brought snacks." - and just as we're thinking about her, our beloved redhead shows up with a plate of sandwiches and tea
"Thank you."

With the snacks over the compass table crystal (it doubles up as a small table, but lets be extra careful not to spill crumbs or drink on it, alright?), we can munch while steering.

"Thank you for buying those for me?" - she says while looking down with a little blush - "I'm always worrying about wether or not I'm good enough. To be honest, I really would prefer it if you just accepted me as a slave. The idea of being your wife is pretty scary."
"Eh? Lyann is my (love) slave already, though?" - we say jokingly
"But its just in the bedroom... in the future, you will show up in high society a lot, so I..."
"Don't worry, we'll get anything you want. If you want jewelry, clothes or accessories, anything at all so my Lyann awes everyone and anyone." - we lean in and kiss her

Ah, she tastes like tea.

"..mh. Yes Master, thank you Master." - she replies with a smile

Ah, we may have reinforced her self-worth complex, but... well, I guess its alright? As a male, having free reign to do as we wish to her... there's no way we could complain, right?

We pull her over into our arms, and hug her against us softly while steering the ship.

"Anything you need to be pretty." - we smooch her shoulders and neck

"Ah." - she stores away the plate, now empty.

Oops, we had deviated just a liiittle bit off course. There, we just lost a couple of minutes, it'll be fine before we know it.

Reinforced her complex, so she'll be more submissive.
Since we didn't do naughty, we didn't lose track of the compass, so we didn't really go off course.
So, bad and good, I guess.
>>
>>2370504

We talk and cuddle until morning, and Miiyau catches us still flirting behind the steering wheel.

"Isn't that nyace? But I hope you didn't got us off course, nya!"

We peek at the compass. Its fine, we're safe.

"Is fine. Can we leave the ship to you for now?"
"Sure, nya! You should go sleep nyaow."
"Ah, can't. Need to keep working, but will sleep a bit tonight."
"That's nyat good, you knyaow?! You are still growing, so you should take care of yourself."
"Just from time to time won't hurt."
"Hmmm..."

She seems unconvinced, but replaces us at the helm

"Eldric, you meanie!" - since we went to the university, we finally ran into Mako, whom we hadnt seen for days. - "You were meant to come home in the mornings!"

Oh, she looks pretty when she's angry.

I wish she wasnt the cute type that hits us while crying, eyes closed when she's angry, though. She's a monk, and she's st about our level, so it kind of hurts...

"Waah, you meanie! I was worried, I was lonely!"
"Ah, I'm really sorry. I promise I'll go home in the mornings starting tomorrow, alright?"
"Uuuh-"
"I promise."
"Alright..." - she says while looking up at us with teary eyes

Ah, lets give her a kiss

"Really?"
"Really."
"Really really?"
"Yes."
"Uuuh~ at times like these, you are supossed to reply with 'really really,' you know?"
"I'm sorry." - we kiss her gently

Well, its been a couple of days only, so it can't be helped that there's no huge leaps in research going on, but it looks like Portia, Zoe and the dwarf researcher (forgot his name), have successfully managed a way to surround the probe's core with palladium without having both halves anihilate each other.

Well, it means there's a weak spot, though, but it couldn't be helped. A thin rhing where the layers overlap each other and are separated with a invisible layer of mithril exists, but it can't be seen with the naked eye, thus it cannot specifically be aimed at.

In total, its 3 layers. This should be more than tough enough.
