Eugh, what a strange feeling! It's dark and cluttered in this room, you can hardly navigate your way around. If it were so easy that is, as you try to move about and find it very difficult. Almost as if you were dunked in a barrel of molasses.Still you struggle, with all your might, and in the process knock over a bench. A crash of junk to the floor, previously left atop said bench, but in particular a little bag spills open with some glowing crystals. It's hardly better than a candle but it sheds some light... enough to witness the horrible truth!Your body, if you can call it that, is all gooey and slimy! Actually, you should even really call it a body, if anything you're more like a goopy puddle on the stone floor. >How do you proceed?
>>2369023try to will your gooey body into a humanoid form

>>2369027>>2369032Make a roll, of a d100, as you attempt to reform yourself to... well, whatever you can recall from "before".>>2369028>>2369031As you struggle to remember what you can, and perhaps reconstitute yourself from this, you feel a strong hunger in your... slime? Maybe rather than feel, it's more like notice since it seems like that hunger was always there, and always will be.In any case you seek to remedy this and do your best to move. Glooping and glorping around on the stone floor and trying not to leak between the cracks, you make quite an alarming discovery...A skeleton! On the floor, bones strewn about in the rough shape of a person. Some damp clothes as well, and a few trinkets, a small sword as well. Who was this unfortunate individual... was it you? No, that can't be, you're a slime!Trickling away from it in a mixture of worry and fright, you do however find some ripped open sack, spilling old grain at the bottom. Ripped by some rats, a couple of which regard you with a degree of caution. You suppose that will have to do... the grain, right? Or... the rats?
Rolled 66 (1d100)>>2369048Why not both? Eat rats then the grain
>>2369048Why not both?Devour the biological masses.
>>2369048here for your skelegates? you'll only find death!
>>2369052>>2369053A hearty meal of rats and grain, breakfast of champions! Something in the back of your mind tells you that you probably wouldn't normally do this, but you're oh so hungry. Trying to move as quickly as you can, you seek to grab any rats you're able to. It's not that quick, but quick enough for them not to expect it. Squeaking and shrieking, you're not sure what to do actually now, as you try and search yourself for a mouth or something. In the end it comes naturally though, as the rats can't get away from you once gotten, and eventually sinking and being drawn into your form, you feel your "body" passively digesting them. Dissolving more like, but you can't complain as you move on to the spilled grain. That does wonders to sate your hunger, as you more or less just sift into the bottom of the bag and let the contents sink into you. It also gives you time to think...>Who am I?Faint glimpses at best, of a bed, a room, a bedroom in fact! Two beds in fact, a shared room? A dresser, a desk, clothes... a uniform? Right, right... getting up each day, getting ready for something, going about it every day... classes? Of course, a student! Of something, some sort of school? You try to remember more, though it's rather difficult. Particularly when your memories are hounded by a persistent recollection of some... accident. A lot of fear, panic, stress, anguish... pain. Something bad happened, and the emotions and trauma of that, play over your memories. In any case, before you give yourself a head (mind?) ache, you come to realize that by ingesting all that "food", there's actually slightly more of "you". More slime that is. Not a whole lot, but enough to notice. An interesting discovery, perhaps with it you can do something about your shape...
>>2369093Go to skeleton and investigate. Also adsorb some glow crystals to bring light with us.
>>2369093>>2369052>66Try as you might however, your best efforts don't amount to much. It helps the more you try to remember, try to think about yourself and who you are. Recollection, seems to assist as you try to make something of yourself. Eventually though that same oppressive memory of an accident fusses your concentration and feelings up, that you can't focus enough to truly, properly reform or form yourself into anything meaningful. Maybe if you had more to eat, that would help... if not for the addition of more "you", then at least to ease your mind and help deal with this mess of memory. It's not for nothing though that you tried, and at least you're getting a better hang of your "body", a better sense of yourself. It's quite distressing and strange being a slime puddle, but you're slowly and surely getting used to it. Now it's not a worry of leaking through the cracks and seams in the floor, or as much a struggle at least to spill your way around to move.Hopefully in time it will continue to get easier, as you remember more and regain your identity. It has to be easier to make yourself into something, if you know what that something is.
>>2369113Gnaw on the bones, see if we can get anything out of those remains
>>2369155What about using the bones as an internal structure? Give us some definition and mobility bonuses? And possibly defensive bonuses as well.
>>2369109That seems like a good idea, if you could bring a light source with you rather than having to strain to see in the dim light. Well they're not that bright anyway, but it's quite a wacky display as you glorp your way across the floor to draw some of the crystals into you, which in turn cause your whole mass to illuminate! Neat, but not particularly noteworthy; what is, is a sparkly shimmer within your "body" which can't have come from the crystals. Rather a reaction to the light, that you didn't notice before.Ah, but there's more important things first. Namely, the skeleton! You creep your way closer, cautious of what might have caused the owner to end up like this. Taking the chance to slide around and examine what you can, the most obvious thing is the set of clothes which by your memories, you can tell are definitely not the uniform you're familiar with or anything like it. Quite rough and torn in places, not badly made but you get the impression that the owner must have had a busy and physically active life. Given the sword, knife you discover and some other equipment, you start to formulate a guess in your mind for what kind of life that was. Also of course the skeleton itself. There doesn't appear to be signs of some obvious cause of death, like a cracked skull. All the bones seem to be in fine condition. A strain to think and remember again, through the clouds of your mind you think... orc, and adult. You're not some expert though, at least you don't think you are.>>2369155Finally mustering the courage to approach to touch, you slime and slide your way over the hand bones at least. Try your hardest though, you can't really gain anything from them. The skeleton itself seems to have been cleaned of any leftovers quite thoroughly, and your gooey form can't seem to gain anything from just bones. Same as with the stone floor for example, and those rats you ate? You eventually had to just reject the little bones.Still, you can search about the body more, particularly the clothes where you find some tough meat. Jerky, and some bread, berries and nuts. Perfect! Though it does occur to you that if these pocket contents are as such, then the person must have died pretty recently...>How do your proceed, as you dissolve the pocket foodstuffs?
>>2369177Hide the bones for later, we may yet be able to use it as our frameLook around for any doors to slip under
>>2369177Search the skeleton's belongings. And look at equipment of room.
>>2369186>>2369187Make a roll to search the room, using your glowy form to help! A d100, plus 10.>>2369174It occurs to you that you may be able to support yourself, your form, with the bones. Or even any objects which your body doesn't digest. Sure you can try and alter your shape to something different but that's just propping your slimy self up with more slime; wouldn't it be easier to have something solid and shaped to basically use in the same way a person uses their skeleton? For now though, it seems that not only are you not enough slime to really structure yourself in such a way (at least with the skeleton) but also you don't really have enough control to manipulate yourself around them. Like changing your form as-is, it's probably possible, but you'd need to try again later when you have more control of yourself.

>>2369222>>2369201>>2369229>81You're in no particular rush, so after that little snack in the dead fellow's pocket, you decide to look around why not? Slipping and sliding your way across the floor and searching around where you can, with help of the glowy crystal, you start to get an impression of the place. Some sort of store room, not so much junk (though some of it is you imagine) but just things that people don't need or want to put away till they need it. From all the stuff itself though you can start to formulate an idea, a lot of academic supplies, tending towards the magic end of things. That's right! You recall, that place, that school. Some sort of institute for magic study, which would explain the uniforms. You must have been here, for whatever a slime might be. A janitor perhaps? Or familiar to a wizard maybe? You're not really sure how you know these things, the knowledge is kind of just creeping back along with your memories when you need it. Whatever the case though, this would seem to be an out of the way room. Otherwise, you think anyone would have discovered the skeleton by now.To your particular needs you aren't really able to locate much more that you can eat, unless you want to try to start stripping some books of their old leather binding. Maybe the paper? But you're sure you could seek out much better and easier food to digest, particularly when in your search you do indeed find a door, whose sill you could slide your way under. Whatever lies beyond though...If you stay or go, is there anything particular you have in mind in your search, that you may have wanted or want to bring with you? Your current "inventory" of objects is just the glowing crystal you have inside your slimy mass.
>>2369249The stones just make us more visible so I say we leave and look for foodAnd let's be sneaky about it, we don't know how people will react
>>2369259seconding
>>2369259That makes sense, and you may end up having to rely on the crystal anyway. Plus it won't fit under the door with the rest of yourself, so you abandon it in the room for now. Not too much a problem though, as sliding your way under the door, you find a lit corridor. No windows so you could guess it's underground but you can't be sure. It's quite a ways in either direction though, but you can see a set of stairs to the far right. Along the corridor are several other doors of either side, so the room you came from may not even be the only store room. Naturally you seek to explore the first one you encounter right across the way, but hear quite a commotion coming down the hall. Quickly sliding just under the gap of this other door without fully entering the room, you watch and wait, as a few people hurry along the corridor. When they get close enough you can tell they are orcs, and they are clearly quite busy carrying a bunch of goods... or loot, by the looks of one hefting a prisoner over his shoulder. They're talking heatedly among themselves, and after a certain way, they start looking around. Something about regrouping after the attack, and though they mostly go on farther down the hall, the one carrying the prisoner lags behind.Calling out something, a name if you had to guess, he starts checking around to the different rooms down here (never more than a peek) for what he can find. Maybe looking for the skeleton of the one you found in your room? But if that's the case then your roommate must have died very recently. After about the fifth door checked, the orc fellow is joined be a younger lady orc as well and after a quick exchange she starts helping the effort as well. Though she's not calling out, probably just looking for more loot since compared to the others, she has hardly anything to carry. You expect that in their checking, the orc fellow should reach your original room in a minute or so, while the orc lass should reach the door you are currently hiding under a couple minutes after that. The one is quickly searching for someone, the other is taking her time to look into each room for goodies.>How do you proceed?
>>2369288Follow orcs and steal food?
Going to sleep here opG'night Y'all
>>2369296That's fine, thanks for playing!>>2369293These green-skinned hooligans are the biggest thing going for you right now, in more ways than one, so part of you imagines going with them and seeing if you could even share in their success. However, you have reason to fear any people you think, as a slime. You could try just slipping and sliding up to them but you can imagine that going as poorly just as much as it may go well. Perhaps you could instead stalk them and see where they go, but you highly doubt you could keep up with them as you are, just a sticky puddle mostly. If you have some means in mind though of going with them, you could certainly try it.
>>2369306See if we can slip into a crack or something to hide and hope they pass us by.
>>2369413A fair plan, you'd rather avoid attention in your condition right now. So you slide further into the room and just hide in the dark. Eventually you hear some commotion across the way, your original room. It seems the orc fellow must have found his skeletal friend, which is followed by some arguing and sounds of smashing from that room. Eventually his voice fades, though angry all the way. You think the coast clear, till the lass throws open the door to the room your in, mumbling to herself and all frustrated, while she rummages about the room for anything valuable. With her opening the door some light spills in, and you can see this room is mostly old furniture, though she takes a particular focus to some metal candlesticks. Silver maybe? In any case, now seems to be your chance to escape the room, or else just continue remaining hidden and hope she leaves soon. Unless of course you have some other plan in mind?
>>2369423Just keep hiding for now, unless she finds us in which case quiver adorably.Once they are gone we can do some exploring when its more safe, I have a feeling that it was us who striped their friend of his flesh.
>>2369427Very well then, you remain in hiding, till she pilfers what she can and takes her leave. With a slam of the door the room returns to darkness, and you're able to escape your hiding spot and move freely again. You hear another door or two open and close over the next couple of minutes as she checks further down the hallway afterward, but eventually silence.>How do you proceed?
>>2369434Slip on out into the hallway and see if we can find where they sleep or eat, both places will have good food for us.
>>2369438Make a roll, maybe you can find something special? In your searching for more... well, anything really.
Rolled 50 (1d100)>>2369443
>>2369288I recognize that hallway!
>>2369446>50A passable effort! You slide out from under the door and back to the hallway, and along you go. Glorping your way along, you figure there's no need to check any of the rooms the orcs already did, otherwise if there was something good then they would have taken it already, right? You near the staircase at the far end after awhile though, and one of the doors nearest to it is smashed and broken open. Inside, you can see two bodies on the floor, a quick look from the doorway and you'd guess one is dead for sure with a significant wound in their neck and blood all around. The other though looks to be out cold, or at least they're still breathing. What transpired you can't say for sure, but it looks like they had been hiding in this room, when the orcs found the door probably secured and smashed it down. Having done this to the occupants, that might even have explained the one captive that was carried off. The most notable detail though is that the two in here are wearing those school uniforms you remember.Otherwise, the room itself doesn't seem to have much beyond a bunch of racks with chopped wood. For fires maybe? Or something else. The good news though, aside of the room, is that you're right near the stairs now so seeing what lies above should be easy enough.>>2369453What? Surely you must be mistaken!
>>2369459Get eating on that dead body.
>>2369462Why let a good body go to waste, you figure? It's not like they'll be needing it anymore! So you shlorp over to it and make contact, to start consuming and dissolving everything you can. By the looks of the other person, you think it best to start out of plain sight so you trickle your way under the clothes and begin absorbing everything you can from within. By the time you consume all of that, only the hands and head will be left exposed so you can finish them last.>Magic body consumed! It takes awhile, particularly since there's so little of you (relatively) to begin with, but eventually you are able to consume the dead body entirely, leaving not by a skeleton and damp clothes remaining. It's nice to have your hunger sated, however interestingly you gain a greater sense of yourself in the process, particularly when dissolving the brain. Not only was it a tasty meal, but you can tell this person had magic power, a wizard perhaps. In any case, you attain a higher level of self control and can attain an improvement. As you are only just starting out (to your knowledge) your choices are limited, but you can only imagine what sorts of feats you may be capable of in time. Would you like to improve something relating to;>Interpersonal; your ability to interact with other things, other beingsor>Subsistence; how your form gains nutrition and consumes
>>2369475>>Interpersonal; your ability to interact with other things, other beings
>>2369482Yes, that seems like a good idea. Why, when those orcs happened past and you had no option to interact with them, it was quite scary. You'd want to avoid that in the future. So of the possible upgrades you could seek, those initially available are;>Communication; in this case the ability to make noises>Self Image; the ability to control your own form better, as to try and attain some physical identity/appearance>Consistency; that being the cohesion of your body, and how consistent you areIt seems at some point before this, you must have consumed another body, as you already have the Interpersonal improvement for >Sensory; the ability to detect external stimuli, basically having senses like sight and hearing
>>2369497>>Communication; in this case the ability to make noises
>>2369499That feels "right" to you, as you recall more of your self, and understand the ability to be able to make noises by altering your body shape in ways and either vibrating or manipulate goopy sounds. For now, it's just noises, but with another improvement made, you think you could do what those people do, and be able to talk. Not half bad from consuming a body, and just in time, as you notice now the other person stirring and quickly seek someplace to hide among the chopped wood. Probably for the best, as the fellow yells in a panic, still disoriented but obviously alarmed to find the other person not but a skeleton and their clothes. He probes the remains and feels said clothes damp, but is at a loss for what happens. Attempting and failing to reach his feet in a clumsy stagger and fall, he crawls to the smashed open doorway and looking out in either direction, he weakly tries calling up the stairs.>How do you proceed?
>>2369504Follow him, for now, he should prove a decent distraction to let us look around up stairs.
>>2369509As sneakily as you can, you emerge from the stacks of chopped wood, and creep after the fellow. Eventually some help does come at his calling for it, another person in the uniform clothes and helps him up, after also panicking at seeing the new skeleton.Together they struggle up the stairs, which is enough of a distraction for you to continue sneaking after them, and at a pace you can keep up with if you try your hardest. Thankfully it's not that long a flight of stairs, before the cross another broken door to some sort of small but open room. It's pretty sparse but by the look of things it's probably the access to the lower levels of this structure; there are a few other doorways, two of them open and both lead down. The two you are following though exit the room to the outside, the actual outside where you can see the sun. Late afternoon by the look of things, though the scent of smoke on the air and the sight through the open doorway of some small fires here and there outside, indicate some greater conflict going on.You could remain in here, try another of the doors in this open room, or try sneaking outside. For the latter two choices, if you want you can roll to try and see maybe what you can notice or find out about them; either the other doors, or what is outside.
>>2369532I's say we take a peek outside to see what is going on before searching more rooms for bodies they are yummy.Probally better to wait for night if we are to head outside
Rolled 78 (1d100)>>2369562And roll for searching the the other doors in room.
>>2369562A peek outside never killed anyone, as you creep to the open door and get a glimpse out. It looks to be an open courtyard of a decently large complex, like a castle. It seems some attack, an orcish raid to your guess is taking place as there are signs of destruction here and there, fires as you already know and some bodies and injured people and animals around. Not like the place is in danger of coming down from what you can tell, but the greenskin raiders have made a mess for sure.Notably, getting the look outside and you can tell for sure by familiar memories that this is that same academy you know to have been in, with the uniforms, your own room, daily routine and all. But that's enough a look for now, as you shlorp back inside.>>2369570>78In the meantime you go checking each of the rooms in this open hall, keeping to the outer walls and behind the few bits of furniture or stone work. Of the six available, three lead down including the one you came from, to other lower areas. Another seems to just be connecting to some corridor running through the building up at this level. Two though are just farther back into the building here, rooms on their own. One at a quick look around, appears to be some room for keeping animal feed, for a stable you can recall. A bunch of hay and similar provisions, which based on your take of the grain down below, won't do you much. However there is also some barrels of slop and mixed food waste, probably for pigs and the like, and interestingly there are a number of enclosures of smaller living animals. Not like a chicken coop, you expect that elsewhere. These are more like, spaces for a bunch of rats and mice, insect and lizard enclosures, even an artificial fish pond. These are feeder animals you'd guess, for bigger and meaner captive or pet animals. The other room is a little more disappointing, just a laundry room though quite big and also has a back way outside for drying and such. Though there are a couple people holed up inside here, and a couple injured as well.
Rolled 28 (1d100)Dammit, too late to this thread to vote for digesting the unconscious fellow in >>2369459. But it seems all is not lost... >>2369591Lets clear the room with feeder animals and after that continue our rampage in the laundry. Safe is boring - I want to know how well will we fare against frightened group of students. Let's try to form tendrils inside our mass and via them incorporate mice ears and human eyes into our form. In the laundry room, focus on the most injured folks first.btw Familiar by Mieville should be required reading for anyone in this quest.
Rolled 63 (1d100)>>2369605Support on feeding animals, but attacking bunch on people, when we can only slowly digest them seems like bad idea.Courtyard would be better option or heading to the lower levels
>>2369610>>2369605>63Well it's quite the commotion in the feed storage room, as you basically clear the place out of anything organic in about an hour. You have impulses, an urge to move on to the laundry room afterward and continue feeding, on those in there. However your thoughts and memories play through, and remind you that it may not be so easy when your digestion rate is slow and also those would all be people compared to mice. People in fact, who may have magic abilities. Plus, if your memories have any truth to them, you get the feeling you may actually know or have known them. Consuming the dead body of a possibly former comrade is one thing, in this state you find yourself, but attacking and consuming living folks? Your hunger insists, but your better sense asks if any of them might not have been a friend? In any case though you've cleared out this room at least, and now are around the relative mass size of a beach ball, if you were to entirely withdraw all your mass into a sphere. And if you knew what a beach ball was. It seems to be that feeding increases the amount of your "self", with animal flesh consumed doing you the best. If you start to starve by contrast, it seems the amount of your "self" will merely diminish, possibly to nothing. But it's not as if you can starve to death (in the traditional sense) or eat too much and get sick; you just grow or shrink in slime mass depending on how you feed or don't.Ah but the passage of an hour, in leaving the room you try checking outside again, and things seem to be more under control. By the sound of the place there's still an attack going on, but it's not like there's fights going on in the courtyard and random orc raiders running around looting and pillaging. Chances are they have either been killed, repelled, the retreated, or like the ones you saw below are in small groups or on their own, running around to cause what last havoc they can before leaving.>How do you proceed?
>>2369621Head down to one of other lower areas.Lets try to find someone relatively harmless looking person and try to communicate with it.We kinda need to figure out what happened to us before we woke up
>>2369624You've had your fun eating whatever you can, including at least two bodies that you're aware of. It seems then that now might be the time to actually try to make sense of things, as long as you're not starving anymore and can somewhat communicate with noises.Make a roll to follow up on the door you want to take. Assuming that is, not the same door you came up from to start with.
>>2369621>Well it's quite the commotion in the feed storage roomThis is goldenLet's head outside. Now is not the time for such trivialities as "figure out what happened to us before" or "make sense of things".
Rolled 42 (1d100)>>2369626Just head down by one of doors we have not yet to use
>>2369629>>2369630Oh dear, conflicting choices! Roll off to decide? Or that is, just Xmh player roll, and see if better than 42.
Rolled 44 (1d100)>>2369634I'm not sure what Xmh is, but I'll roll 1d100.>inb4 we split off into two blobs
>>2369635Well Xmh is your ID. But 44 is just barely higher than 42! Maybe a fair middle ground; You decide on just choosing the one closest, and what you find is a passage down, but only to another room. A big cellar with great big vats; drinks storage! At least you think so, certainly some of the great vats and barrels are wine and such, others are probably magic brews and whatnot. Down here, you find some orcs whom got their way in and hit the drinks despite a battle going on. In total four, two passed out, two very tipsy and supposed to be on guard. That's just a look to that room, checking outside again and moving so, you see that things are more under control now. There's no more open fighting in the courtyard, some of the bodies have been moved, the injured carted off, and some subdued orcs being watched. Also the fires and damage are being seen to, from academy personnel personally dealing with it (some flying even), to other attendants being things like magic servants and magically animated objects. It's not totally safe as in your time watching, you notice some pillaging group emerge from an upper balcony, and try to rough their way to escape, some of them making it or even freeing a captive comrade or two. But the conflict is for sure on the downturn. In any case you should still have no trouble sneaking if there's a place you want to try to remember, or think would exist in a place like this. Or if you just want to follow the blood.
>>2369638>>2369621I realize I kind of double described the courtyard situation, but the choice of where to go is the focus anyway.
Rolled 89 (1d100)>>2369638Well we have few options here, but I'd rather not run out of here untill we know more.Lets try to kill those four orcs, if we can jump on and wrap ourselfs around guards face, we should have good change to win.>roll for sneaky attack one of orcs
>>2369638Supporting this >>2369648

>>2369648>>2369656>>2369717Dammit I realized we probably cannot jump like this yet. Gonna consume more bodies for stunts like this.
>>2369765Cant we just glop up onto something high like the wine casks and then slop on top of an orcs face when they pass by
>>2369648Sneak attack or not, I doubt the orc is just going to let it happen peacefully which will alert the others
>>2369648We could just slime into their mouth and digest them from the inside out.
Rolled 15 (1d100)>>2369648>89It seems to be a unison agreement to go after the orcs, considering they attacked the establishment you think to call home, and of course are on their own.So you gloop and glop your way under the door and down the stairs, sliding along the dirt and stone floor of the damp cellar. In the dim light you're even harder to see, such that you can creep up to the most sober (though still tipsy) guard. Springing an attack on the guy would be your preference, but as you are, you're not able to just leap up to a height or across a distance. You are able to climb though decently well, so you shlorp up the side of one of the big casks against which the orc is sitting and watching. Slowly, carefully you drip down, trying to keep all of yourself together so that you don't alert him to your presence. Unfortunately your consistency isn't high enough, nor is your control over your self that some doesn't pour down onto him first. But in his noticing and looking up in confusion, you take the chance to drop onto his face. Immediate panic as your slime starts dissolving whatever it comes into contact with, and the two of you are at odds with him struggling to try and get rid of you and pull you away from him, while you're trying to shove yourself down his throat. >But do any of the others notice?
>>2370361Methinks they are quite thoroughly soused.
>>2370361>15Well they are simply hammered! The other orcs hear the noise but since it's not audible yelling with you covering the mouth, and they can't see anything from past the big cask, they can't be bothered to check for what they assume is no big deal. The struggle continues, but before long you feel the orc weakening as suffocation takes its toll, and finally his struggle dwindles till collapse. He drops to the floor slowly but surely, though for good measure you make sure he's dead. After which you can consume to your hear- slime's content! As you are, the dissolving process takes about an hour, for you to fully digest the body from top to bottom leaving only a skeleton and clothes in your wake.>Body consumed! As before, not only do you increase in slime amount, but you also gain a greater sense of yourself. Since the body wasn't magical you don't really gain a deeper understanding of your physiology, but you can still improve based on what you already know from the categories of;>Interpersonal, and Subsistenceas described here >>2369475
>>2370380>SubsistenceSo we can have a more firm body that we can do acrobatic maneuverings with.
>>2370429An ability like that is not exactly under those two categories you currently know. The best you can manage with that in mind is under Interpersonal, whether you want greater cohesion or stability. Basically how well your "self" can keep together, or how well you can maintain control under certain conditions, like moving. Though, on the latter, since you can't yet maintain a proper "shape" more than puddle really, stability might not be so useful.Your current consistency is like syrup. If you were to improve it, you can tell that it would be more like gack, or those DIY slimes. Thicker, more goopey rather than liquidy.
>>2370380>>2370473I vote for Consistency. Also, welcome back OP. I thoroughly enjoy this quest. >>2370361 had laugh at that gif in the context.
>>2370494>>2370429Consistency then, as you reflect on your improved understanding of yourself and learn the ability to improve your cohesion. Originally just a syrupy puddle, now you actually have some consistency to your form. It's not like you can up and start performing acrobatic stunts, but it's definitely much easier now to keep ahold of yourself, keep all of "you" together. Not as much worry about moving over an open grate and pouring through by accident. No, you're a proper slime now! That took an hour though, all things considered. By now you can hear the next most sober orc talking to the others whom are at least stirring, and it sounds like there's an interest to find out where their comrade went. He was only just sitting guard, did he fall asleep over behind that cask?>How do you proceed?
Rolled 50 (1d100)Huh, the sneak attack actually was sneaky.>>2370623Lets go behind some barrels and try to lure most sober orc there with noises. If the two others are still just laying around we can kill them somewhat easily, while sober one is at other side of the room.
Rolled 30 (1d100)>>2370718Supporting
Rolled 26 (1d100)>>2370718>>2370734>50Making noises is within your toolbox of abilities, and the ability to lure with them occurs to you. If one is already curious as to the whereabouts, then some suspicious noises should draw her away.So you go elsewhere from the bones, and hiding at among some barrels you start making noises. Clicking, chirping, whistling, a good practice to see what you can do. Eventually the most sober orc of the three does struggle to her feet, calling out a name as she comes over to investigate the noises. You retreat further among the barrels and making the noises more tantalizing, and while eventually it's clear to her that it isn't her friend, curiosity still gets the better of her as she looks down among the barrels and tries reaching down to see what she can find. Probably thinks it's some animal maybe, but once she's leaning down, as (relatively) quick as you are able, you gush forth and try to cling to her face again like the last.Because your form is more cohesive though, while maintaining control is easier, it's also easier for her to try and remove you. Because if she can get ahold and pull enough, then the rest of you is going with it.How does she fare?
Rolled 46 (1d100)>>2370779
>>2370779Does the slime have a penis? I'm just asking because I know we are all thinking the same thing. Not that we would go there or anything.
>>2370779>26Well now, it seems she wasn't as sober as she should have been, and your little surprise attack was well timed and executed; in her sudden panic and struggle, she ends up losing her stance, and falling head over heels entirely down in between the barrels with you on her. It's not that she's stuck, though it is a difficult position to be in, but in fighting against you and the disorientation of having a corrosive slime on your head... it's too much for her. Like her friend, she struggles and tries to both pull you off and get out of the spot between the barrels. Unfortunately for her it doesn't amount to much, and also tires her out quickly for suffocation to set in. After that, a hearty orcish treat to digest in much more privacy than before!Another hour to go for you to render her a skeleton and clothes, but you've done it. And again, the more of you there is and hunger sated, you gain more sense of yourself. >Body consumed! What do you want to improve? From the list already shown, since the body wasn't magic so no new categories learned.>>2370796Well you're just a slime. It seems possible that if you further improved your consistency to be firmer and closer to solid, maybe you could do something like that. But you're just a slime! You don't even have a gender, at least not that you can tell, and none of that stuff really matters to you.
>>2370806>Interpersonal
>>2370819Another improvement to how you interact with the world around you? Yes, that seems like the best idea to begin with, gain some basic necessities before you start to really see what you're capable of. For the available options as listed in a previous post then, >>2369497 , which do you want?>Communication (2); you can already make noises, so now you would be able to talk>Self Image; the ability to control your own form better, as to try and attain some physical identity/appearance>Consistency (2); with the cohesion of a proper slime, further improving this would put you at the consistency of something like a water baloon, a firm outer surface with a liquidy interior
>>2370836>self image
>>2370806Yeah... just asking for curiosity's sake.>>2370836I second self image
>>2370836>>Self Image
>>2370860>>2370838Self-Image it is then, so that you won't forever just be a puddle of slime. That should be useful for sure, and with a little practice, with thanks to your improved consistency, you can now form some basic shapes out of your "self". Whether that be a cube for the classic look, a sphere to roll around, or whatever simple shapes you can imagine. If you continue practicing and improving yourself in this way, then you suspect eventually, to be able to take on more complex forms and even fashion an identity for yourself.>Identity...that's right. As you practice and try to think of shapes to form as, you come to recall and remember the shape "you" should have. A memory, a feeling of a person, a body. Not a slime one either, a solid form. That's right, you may be as you are now, but you weren't always so. It seems your assumptions of being someone's pet or familiar were too low; you may have in fact been a person. Exactly who, and how you came to be as you are now, isn't clear. But it's both a tremendous blow to your psyche and emotions to know how you are now compared to how you should be, or at least were. At least some reassurance, to recall a little more about yourself, however little. At least you're somebody, not that being a familiar or pet is a bad thing.Ah, but back to matters at hand. It took another hour to digest that orc, and by now the other two are staggering about. You can tell because of the commotion when they find the skeletal remains of one of their buddies on the floor. They quickly get quite angry and worried, taking up arms and gathering their loot. Clearly they want to leave, but first the hope to find who did this to their friend, and second they want to find their missing friend. Also, they have to be careful in case whatever did it is still here.Though as you know, they're still a little tipsy so not the top of their game.
>>2370920Lure them farther down the cellar.
>>2371079There's not really a "down", it's just one great room down here. If you mean farther from the stairs though, you can do that. Make a roll, for whatever your plan is, as you shlorp along through the cellar avoiding these two orcs.
Rolled 61 (1d100)>>2371089Alright lemme just roll for >>2371079 and also to wrap ourselves around both their necks to choke themMaybe we can find a tall thing to fall off of and onto them
>>2371169You can stick with that roll, but you're not capable of performing a feat like that on the two of them. You can however try to dismount one of the casks to roll onto them, if you want to try with that roll.
>>2371214Yes>Crush them
Rolled 20 (1d100)>>2371237Very well then, let's see how they fare.
>>2371169>>2371253Oh dear, they hadn't a chance!Based on their movements around the cellar, you try to plan ahead for a trap. They won't be here long though so you have to be quick about it. Hurriedly, you move ahead to a few stacked casks, and struggle as much as you can to try and tip one over. Eventually you do manage, for one that is empty and just on the stack, by getting inside the barrel and throwing all of "you" back and forth. Eventually after quite the racket you cause the thing to topple over and hopefully crash into the orcs. Not that you can see since you're slopping around inside as it rolls. However you feel a thump and hear yelling before coming to rest. Without immediately jumping out to action, you cautiously check to see what the end result is. To your credit, the cask rolled and smashed into one of the orcs, pinning her under it. The other orc is checking if she's alright and will try to move it off her.So you have a chance to launch an attack on one of them probably, if you're quick, before they can get the thing off again.
Rolled 29 (1d100)>>2371286It's not exactly dignified but if we can force ourself into the anus of the downed orc while they're distracted we can kill them from the inside and the do a chestburster impression to catch the other by surprise.
>>2371361That's... rather specific? Why not the mouth? Either way, the trapped orc is going to know what is going on and raise complaint.
Rolled 57 (1d100)>>2371361Any orifice would be good.
>>2371382>>2371361>57Well you resolve to destroy the trapped orc from the inside out, and in a surprise attack, slorp your way from out of the barrel and for her mouth. The fellow helping her is caught off guard and draws back in alarm at the sight of you first, while the trapped orc can't do anything herself. Before they can stop you, you've already slimed at her face and into her mouth, aiming for her gut. Needless to say, it's quite dark in here! A lot of struggle, attempts to spit you out, and screaming. Unfortunately you don't have the kind of control or consistency yet where you can just force your way down her throat, however you made it inside her mouth and you're too goopy for her to spit out. If you wait long enough though, eventually you could corrode your way down her throat. Do you want to just dissolve her entirely then, or try to make it farther inside?
>>2371436Why not both?
>>2371540Well it would mostly be the order you do it in. But sure, you can just passively dissolve everything around you, till you sink deeper, and eventually just consume her from within. Not the same as forcing your way into her stomach and chest bursting, and tremendously slower. But it's a gruesome end which she can't really fight. Eventually along through the consuming process it becomes clear to you that the other orc left by now, probably tried to help her but when she finally perished to your corrosion, he must have given up. You still got one body at least, but the other got away.>Body consumed!Another chance to improve, as you dwell among the skeleton and clothes trapped beneath the fallen barrel. How might you increase your potential?
>>2371574We have control, consistency, sensory, and noisemakingLet's go for subsistence
>>2371619Good idea.
>>2371619Well you have improved each of those, but they can be improved further. You're at the first "level" of improvement for each.
>>2371651To that end though, if you're still keen on Subsistence, then the options available to you are;>Appetite; the time it takes you digest things, cut in half by each "level">Bolster; if you should choose to specify beforehand, you can gain a temporary surge in your composition in terms of amount of "you" and vigor>Digestion; how you actually break down your food, in this case that you would be able to engulf and imprison a target and dissolve it within yourself, rather than dissolving by outer contact and absorbing nutrition that way
>>2371755>>AppetiteSpeed at eating.
>>2371755>Bolster*That is to say, specify before you consume something. Like you would say, this next meal is going to be used to bolster me. Then, by each level you'll increase temporarily by a multiplicative of what you normally would. So if you eat a body and gain X value of mass, energy, etc... then first level bolster will double that, then quadruple it, and so on. Temporary though.
>>2371777>>2371784Well that seems to be the choice then, as you finish digesting what little remains of the orc. In concentrating as well, with haste on the mind, you actually make shorter work of it! What would have taken an hour for an average body, now would take half an hour.Ah, but that seems to be it for people to feed on now, with the remaining orc gone. You've been down here a few hours now, so you imagine things must be concluded or close to it by now, in either side's favor. >How do you proceed?
>>2371837Investigate what the orcs had on their person.
>>2371844Make a roll! You're not but a humble slime, such orcish things may well be beyond your comprehension.
Rolled 33 (1d100)>>2371844
Rolled 64 (1d100)>>2371855Finally settled in properly at home and just in time to roll
>>2371865>33Alas, you've still got slime on the mind, delayed in your retention of past memories and whomever you were. As such, you aren't able to turn up much of use in your search of the skeletons and clothes. Nothing better than little trinkets and shiny things.>>2371902>64A-ha! But a second check over what you do find, and you realize that one of the rings is magical, as is a necklace! It can't be too much, or you wouldn't expect it to be if these are just some orc raiders, but it's not like you had an magic items before...
Rolled 79 (1d100)>>2371855For some reason I thought this would be a joke quest. Doesn't seem like that, seems interesting enough.
>>2371919It's as jokey as you want (need?) it to be! Though for now things have been progressing seriously enough.
>>2371917>>2371928Well moving right along, you store the items of interest within yourself, and slorp and shlop your way out of the cellar and back to the open hall. It's night now you can tell, but no lack of activity; after the attack seems to have been repelled, now there's folks rushing about on their business or patrolling for any remaining orcs probably. There must have been quite a mess to clean up for sure, that only makes sense, so as long as you don't get in someone's way and they step on you, it should be fine for you to sneak around. Unless of course, you're seeking attention?>How do you proceed?
>>2372038Look for the room we came to in.We need to look for traces of our past.
>>2372061You can navigate your way back to the room you came from sure, and since it's in the lower level you can get there without much trouble of being noticed. Carefully you keep to corners and the shadows as to not be noticed, passing over the stony and dirt floors, and the staircase down. On your way, you end up passing by where you consumed the first body that you're aware of. It isn't there anymore, the skeleton, but there's two people examining around the place. Waiting for the right time, you slide past the doorway and keep going till you approach the room you remember beginning in. However, another sight as you approach, some fellow in the uniform of the academy searching about the room you were in. Rather roughly and quickly too, upturning this and knocking over that, desperate in his search.>How do you proceed?
>>2372095Wait till he leaves.See if he finds anything, and if he does, follow, if not search room.
>>2372157You quickly sneak under the opposite door, the one you first hid under, to watch and wait till this stranger leaves. Grumbling to himself about something, eventually he gives up his search for now it seems, though he slams the door shut and performs some kind of magic spell upon the door. How strange, though he doesn't take anything with him.Storming off, now is your chance to return "home" and examine the room better yourself. Anyting in particular you seek though? You did already search this room yourself somewhat, though you could always try again (with a roll, as usual).
Rolled 84 (1d100)>>2372179Do it.Search for identifying stuff.
Rolled 53 (1d100)>>2372179Pretty much what >>2372190 said.
>>2372213>>2372190>84Again you search the room for anything you can find which may help. Now that you have a better sense of yourself and this place, you're not just searching blind at least. However it's still a dark room, and it's still ransacked and messy. In any case, it's not like you're on a timer here, and over the better part of an hour or two of searching wherever you can, finally you do discover something different that you'd passed over before; a uniform set of clothes to the academy. No name, and no indicator of any status, however they are... familiar, particularly to your touch. Memories of that person wearing them as they would any day during the routine, and more sets of clothes like it in their room, in the dresser... your clothes. No pet or familiar indeed, but a student here, like many others.Until the accident that is. Still no idea of name, or appearance, but a step closer to rediscovering your identity. Not what you'd hoped, but it's a start and it's better than nothing.>How do you proceed?
Well there's not much else I think we can gain by staying around here, maybe we should spread out our search of this magical institution wider. If nothing else maybe we can find where they threw the orc bodies.
>>2372345Possible searches for sure, but what do you want to set yourself on first? Or perhaps you'd like to just wander and see what you find? Searching for bodies does sound appealing though, but by now it's doubtful what will be left. That is assuming, you want to stay here to begin with.
>>2372407To be fair I'm not really sure what we can find that would help us out in our current state, as far as I would think there's not much a slime has need for except food. I guess we could just look around randomly for now. ( got work in the morning so I'm out, be back tomorrow, love the quest keep it up!)
>>2372407Lets find more magical bodies (dead or not). We want to become new Magical Slime Girl.
>>2372407We need more info on who we were and more biomass. I think searching for our old dormitory and wherever they're disposing the bodies.
>>2372484>>2372449>>2372447More bodies is never a bad thing, the hunger is always there, and the more of you there is the worse it gets. Fortunately, unlike typical slime you're blessed (or cursed) with a mind, so you have the ability to prioritize and seek reasonable actions before base instincts. And to your mind, finding out more about yourself seems the most logical course of action, starting with one of your most common of the few memories you have, your bedroom. You know what it's like, you spent enough time there, if you were dropped in there right now and blindfolded (or the slime equivalent) you could navigate around it blindfolded. The only problem, is getting there in the first place.Tracking your way around the academy (from your vague memory it's not impossibly huge, just about a small castle equivalently) could work, seeking out a student and following them to any bedrooms. Or you could try and draw on your vague memories and recall your way there. Either one, if you specify, will take a roll.
>>2372516>try to find where they keep the dead bodiesNeed more magic amd upgrades and the ability to speak
>>2372553Well you can try, but you doubt anyone belonging to the academy who died, if their body has been collected, would not be just tossed in a pile nor left unattended. The attacking orcs may be easier to find dead, but you wouldn't know where to look for that. Maybe they tossed them outside the walls? Maybe they fed them to some exotic beasts? It'll be a tough thing to find, though again not impossible. If you're set on it, specify a rough idea of where you might want to try and look, and make a roll.
>>2372564Look for the research lab, they should have specimens collected for study
>>2372566Whoah now, that's three different choices to contend with! Your room, bodies after the attack, and now specimens?Well, like the others you suppose you could find it but you'll need to search around, and roll to do so.
Rolled 90 (1d100)>>2372600And good night.
Rolled 78 (1d100)>>23726004th choice: gtfo. Lets roam free in the wider world.
>>2372600Nom biomass. Magical kind if possible. People, critters, creatures, monsters... Doesnt really matter where (or who) it is but staying in castle is preferable due to the fact everything is in chaos because of attack. Our exploits will be less noticable (until it is too late, mwahaha).
>>2372695>>2372771>>2372778>90Well first thing first, you've got your sight (?) set on some easy pickings of the more exotic variety. Your memories of this place are vague, but being a magic academy there should be some place for the study of animals, right? It does occur to you, that you could just exit the grounds entirely, you know of a way out via the laundry room. The freedom is appealing, though before making such an escape, you'd at first want to get all you can out of this place. So exiting the room you began in, you try to keep as stealthy as you can and shlorp your way along corridors and hallways. You come back up to the open hall and the ground floor of this place, and from there start carefully searching around. While it is night time now so easier to travel unnoticed, you still don't move particularly fast so it's not like you have all the time in the world to search this place for everything, before sunrise. Also, a couple of times here and there you try entering a room and are either blocked magically, or trigger some magic alarm which you flee from.Eventually though after a few hours searching, you find an older and much more heavily built wing of the building, much thicker stone walls and reinforced doors. This looks like the place where they do experiments and research of that nature, with as many strange looking pieces of equipment and cluttered tables, as explosion marks and damage to the walls, floor and ceiling. No windows either, you're able to glop your way in through a little barred view port in one of the doors. Once inside though, hoping to avoid any magical security, you slide carefully about. Also don't want to knock anything over and cause an accident. For your purposes, there's a few dead specimens here and there on a table or rack. Some of them exotic creatures though nothing terribly big or could be called a person, save for what looks like a manticore tail and some sort of undead being respectively. The rest could fit atop a normal-sized table, and most able to be stored in a box that could be carried by one person. Perhaps more interestingly you notice one quarter of the room to the side, with some shelves holding jars of different small creatures, and some small enclosures for experiment animals; mice obviously, but also a bunch of insects and small magical or exotic creatures. You think to just barge in and start eating everything, less for the negligible benefit you'll get and more to sate your hunger. However you notice one thing in particular which catches your eye; a weighted jar both top and bottom, housing a blue slime. It's separated from the rest by a fair distance and is surrounded by books and various writings. >How do you proceed?
>>2374111Burble at it in an attempt to communicate and see what happens.
>>2374138You approach the jar with interest, doing your best to avoid the cluttered papers and observing instruments around it. Through various attempts you try to communicate with the thing, however it is either not sentient or you don't know how to communicate with it. It could be responding and you wouldn't know, or can't hear because the jar. Maybe because you had once been a person so operate on that level of communication, rather than from one slime to another. Like trying to speak a language you don't know.In any case, it at least seems to detect you and moves up against the glass from whichever direction you approach it, but otherwise not much else.
>>2374189Make a ball, then cube, then ball again, see if Blue reacts in any intelligent way. If not, ignore it and nom everyhing in the room. Then we may return back to Blue, set it free, and either communicate, mate, or nom it too.
>>2374225Unfortunately no, your highly complex method of communication by changing your shape a little doesn't amount to much and the thing just remains as it always was.So you turn your attention to the consumables so to speak. The little critters here and there will help with the hunger, but are you interested in going after the manticore tail for example? It will take a significant time to digest, and will greatly increase your size, whether that's a good thing or not.
>>2374259Define "greatly"But who am I kidding, of course we are going to eat it.
>>2374273After all you've eaten so far today, you're about the rough dimensions of a large dog if you drew all together. After eating that, you'd be about the size of a fridge, and wouldn't be able to move around at all stealthily anymore though maybe that doesn't concern you?
>>2374376This is probably bad idea, but I was voice of reason for too long when playing demoness.EAT. EVERYTHING....and lets hope we are going to inherit some nice powers besides becoming bigger. No matter what, after we are done eating everything magical/edible here, lets go back to Blue and set it free.
I say we hold off on eating anything in here and look for some magic user corpses to eat.
>>2374472>>2374450Conflicting choices! Want to roll off to decide, or try to compromise?
>>2374555lets leave the tail then, but we should eat something on the principle
>>2374555Maybe we could taste the undead thing, and see if it agrees with us.
eat everything
>>2374564A fair compromise, the tail is just so huge that you've not eaten anything of that caliber yet so it would greatly impact your mass. Instead you can just eat everything else to take care of your hunger.>>2374573The undead thing isn't a zombie, it appears just to be a bunch of body parts stitched together and then animated. It's no different from eating a normal dead body to you, other than because it's been dead for longer, more time to decay, you'll probably end up a bubbly slime for awhile. The undead himself seems quite ornery, but he's restrained so can't resist you.So you take to consuming everything else you can (unlike the feeder animals earlier, some of the things in here actually resist you or could give you a run for your money), which at least sates the hunger. >>2374634Oh dear. So final say, eat the undead and the tail? It seems to be a slight majority in favor, just double checking. If need be I can flip a coin. Also are you sharing any with the blue slime?
>>2374669we eat the tail the undead and the blue slime
>>2374669Let's release it and see what happens.
>>2374681support but if its mindless or try to attack us we eat it but we still eat the tail and the slime
>>2374678>>2374681>>2374706Very well, you overturn the slime jar and roll it off the table so it smashes on the floor. Initially a splatter, it reforms and starts shlorping around until it encounters you. Once it notices, it beelines towards you and gloops up against you. It seems the corrosiveness of the two of you is at odds, and you feel some weird sensations from it but eventually it seems to give up and just wander around again. In that case you decide to consume the remainders in the room, the undead and the tail, starting with the former. It takes about half an hour to go through it like any average sized body, and again, you gain a better sense of yourself and can improve upon your abilities.>Body consumed!By now, something you're noticing, that you're only improving when eating people. For everything you've eaten today, the vast majority of it has been animals and such, but for all of them you only ever understood your nature better when consuming people or the bodies of people. If you like, aside of choosing a new improvement, you can also roll to try and ruminate on the nature of your consumption.
Rolled 1 (1d100)>>2374875we need more control over our shapechanging ability. we want to morph back into "human" at some point
>>2374920now? i roll 1 now, when i have no rerolls? typical...
Rolled 83 (1d100)>>2374875can we harden a support structure inside us like a skeleton
>>2374920That would be improving your Self-Image, eventually upgrading enough, you could take on any shape you wish, you suppose.>>2374945That seems possible, but not from what you can imagine at the moment. You'll need to eat more magic people or bodies, in order to conceptualize such an improvement.>>2374920>>2374945>1No, you have totally no clue about how any of this works! All you know is that eating people causes you to learn more about yourself, and eating anything else doesn't.
>>2374966meh, so it is better shapenchange getalso if we get the human shape fast, we can skip/postpone communication part for a little bit. We dont need to make noise or talk when using pantomime or just plain writing.
>>2374997That's right, you gain a better understanding of your Self-Image. While thinking about the whole process, you come to recall more about yourself... the you before the accident. You already know you weren't a pet or familiar but an actual member of this academy, a person in fact. The more you think, with the increased lucidity of having eaten the undead, the clearer things get. Not just a person, a human, adult and female? That would make sense by the uniform which must have been yours. Not that it matters now, you're just a slime, but you can recall more and better about "being" yourself before the accident. The more you think about it, the more you find yourself able to maintain a shape consistent with those memories and those feelings of self.>What an abominable nightmare you are! It's not great, in fact it's pretty horrific and alarming, particularly since the closer you get to your former self (at least as close as you can get, as a slime), the more you recall your personality too and how nightmarish and disgusting all of this is. You'd cry if you could, maybe you can even, but with the remembrance of who you were, comes the distress about who you were compared to what you are. A blanket of despair sets upon you, only slightly mitigated by the positive side of things; at least you're alive, at least you seem to be able to recall more with time and perhaps eventually could fully realize who you truly were... are. For now, nothing you can really do about anything, other than just try and keep up hope and keep on persisting... and cope with the hunger.Hmm, that's right, yes. Hungry! You could go for a tasty treat, and turn your attention to the manticore tail. You also notice the blue slime having found the tail, and similarly in the process of eating it. Though probably not as improved as you are, and only having just started, it hasn't made much progress.
>>2375121eat the tail and possibly the blue slime if you can
>>2375197Like a fat person at a buffet, you shove the blue slime aside more or less and pig out on the manticore tail. It takes you about two hours to go through it all, even with your improved digestion, but by the time you're done, you've got a lot more mass to you. About the relative accumulated mass as a fridge if you were to scrunch together. As for the blue slime, it grew a little from eating but not much. Because the corrosiveness of the two of you is equal, neither one of you can eat the other. However you could just trap it inside you, either to keep track of it, or just hold it there so that it can't get any nutrition and eventually starves to "death" and just dwindles away to nothing.>Either way, after that how do you proceed?
>>2375260search this place for interesting things and eat the undead
>>2375324You already ate the undead, that's how you improved upon your Self-Image.As for looking for neat things, make a roll!
>>2375121Eat the blue slime first, you don't want competition.
>>2375353support or at least completely starve it or get stronger acid to eat it
>>2375260Inside slime, inside slime. Keep the blue slime inside.Manticores are pretty magical, any changes from all that mass? What's our current status on what upgrades we've got?
Rolled 41 (1d100)Oh and I messed up the dice roll formatting. Looking around!
Rolled 13 (1d100)>>2375260Trap the blue slime inside of us, but keep it alive by feeding it the odd nibble of food to keep it from starving to death. Maybe we can raise it? Maybe it is like us. But at any rate, this way we can keep it from doing shit that we'll get blamed for.Try reading some of those books and writings.
>I have to duck out for a bit after this, so feel free to plan, discuss or ask questions for when I get back, to see/answer>>2375372The current improvements you have are;>Interpersonal; Self-Image (3), Communication, Sensory, Consistency>Subsistence; AppetiteThe number beside represents the level, with Self-Image being the only one you've improved more than once. Let me know if I missed anything.>>2375368>>2375372>>2375426To change your degree of corrosion, you'll need an improvement for that however it's not something you can imagine, so you'd need to eat someone magical in order to "research" something like that.It seems though the slight majority since you can't actually eat it and only starve it, is to instead trap it inside and just keep it alive. Just in case. >>2375390>>2375426>41After drawing the small blue slime into yourself and keeping it there, you proceed to search the room again more thoroughly. Unfortunately you don't turn up much of great value, however you do discover some flasks, bottles, and containers around the place with various substances and chemicals within. Consuming them is not advised, however you could bring them with you if you wanted them later. Like for example, if a bottle contained an explosive alchemical agent, you could bring it with you and then smash it on something you needed blown up. Though as with the magic trinkets, it can make travel more difficult. Like if you're trying to hide or squeeze under a door, you can't bring a solid object with you obviously. But that's the room roughly searched, and mostly cleared. You probably don't want to linger for too much longer, in case someone comes around to check.>How do you proceed?
Missed it againDammit>>2375580Kinda wanna stay and see what's up but it should be a better idea to bolt
increase consistency
>>2375817Need to consume someone else for that.>>2375815Where to now then? There seemed to be conflicting choices between seeking out any information about yourself, or just fleeing this place altogether. Also to make sure beforehand to avoid any confusion; now that you are quite sizeable, how are you moving about? Are you trying to maintain your vaguely humanoid form (at least the upper half) or are you going to keep to just an amorphous slime mass?
>>2375580I'm still a little confused by Bolster. Normally eating stuff helps improve sense of self and mass but if you specify what to improve before eating, you get a bonus to that? Our little slime's kind of fridge sized now, maybe we should think about seeing if we can work on climbing and making coherent noises. The first for being sneaky and the second for communicating.Sneaking is going to be a bit hard. I think we can unbar the door we oozed in through so that'll let us carry some alchemical compounds with us.I think read those notes on the slime, then see if we can sneak to the laundry room and reveal ourselves to someone near here. If they turn out hostile, we can flee back there and take the exit to the outside we know about.
>>2375966Oh and I'm really bad at not checking for updates before posting. Humanoid upper half but keep most of the mass in the lower body to have a low profile.
>>2375966Blob unless we meet any sentient beingsAlso we gotta get more info!
>>2376018No, eating people (something about that which you haven't yet figured out) improves your sense of self, otherwise eating just improves mass or at least prevents you from getting smaller and also improves your energy. Bolster would work that, if you're goint to eat something and would gain X amount of mass and energy, then saying you want the meal to be for Bolster purposes, for a period of time the benefits instead will be 2 X. It's useful if you need to swell massively in size and energy for a short period of time.As for the room and your departure, yes you could probably unbolt and bar it to leave. In trying to read the notes and papers though, it comes off as jibberish to you. Which, is actually very frustrating, becasue from what you know of yourself, you definitely should be able to read and understand all of this, or anything for that matter, but you find yourself unable to now. Probably something else you need to improve upon.>>2376029>>2376116Make a roll then, for trying to move through the place unnoticed.
Rolled 61 (1d100)>>2376145Why am I so bad at basic dice rolling
Rolled 50 (1d100)>>2376145Kk
Rolled 59 (1d100)>>2376145Galorping around silently and stealthily.
>>2376192>>2376191>>2376177>61While traveling through the various rooms and hallways of the academy, you try to do your best of avoiding attention and being noticed. You're a huge slimy mass though with a bunch of objects suspended within, so it's not that simple. While you avoid being directly seen, in your passing peoplel become aware of your presence. Either by your accidentally triggering some magic alarm, knocking things over, leaving doors open, or a thin film of residue where you pass over things like carpet. It's not as though the alert is raised for the building, but you're sure there's some folks suspicious enough to be out looking for the source. In any case though you end up reaching the open hall with the various doors, and find yourself just outside the laundry room. If you seek someone, how do you want to present yourself?
>>2376245Well, dress up in clothes and pretend to be human. It'll look hilarious, and would confuse any would be attackers.
>>2376296Eh fuk it, Why not?
>>2376296Would you like to go back and get your uniform clothes? Or, what were, when you were human still.
>>2376343EhhSure.But only if we can suspend the skeleton inside and pretend it's our skeleton. Like the slime is an extension of the skeleton.
>>2376362The orc skeleton? You can try to suspend it inside yourself, but without a higher degree of control, it will be more like a collection of bones stuck within you rather than a suspended skeleton. And trying to get them to fit appropriately within the clothes will be impossible.
>>2376343The laundry's right here, grab some spares!
>>2376382>>2376362Well in either case then, make a roll for approaching someone. Hopefully they're a peaceful sort.
Rolled 37 (1d100)>>2376382Spares are okay.
Rolled 39 (1d100)>>2376436
Rolled 36 (1d100)>>2376436Roll.
Rolled 96 (1d100)>>2376436Diplomacy HO!
>>2376582>>2376486>>2376449>>2376642>96Oh dear. So you enter into the laundry room, and seek some clothes to wear. You'd probably feel more like yourself in your own clothes, but these will have to do, some other student's uniform robes. It's quite awkward to put them on, basically just glorping within via any openings and trying to fit the upper humanoid portion of your mass in a way as to sort of "wear" the clothes. What it amounts to though is a set of slimy mage robes haphazardly worn by a vaguely humanoid, vaguely feminine goo person, all atop a much larger mass of slime. At least within the robes though, you can hide the various items and blue slime you've brought with you.You wish you had a mirror to gauge yourself by, but then again maybe it's for the best you didn't. You're sure you'd be quite depressed if you saw with your own "eyes" the condition you're in. Well, not much else to do now other than wait and hope for the best. Eventually you do hear commotion maybe half an hour after you get clothed, sounds of walking and grumbling coming up from below into the open hall. Wouldn't you know it, it's that fellow mage you saw ransacking the room you began in. No doubt he went back there, even this late. At first, out of the corner of his eye he kind of just nods and waves you off as another student. You make some noises though and move to try and get his attention. His reaction at first could be hoped for the better, though it's understandable as he jumps back in panic and instinctively draws a wand as if to blast a threat. He's almost set to cast something to but the longer he looks, the more his panic subsides and is replaced with curiosity. Casting instead a light, eventually he tries speaking to you. He says something you don't understand, though that seems to be common for you in this state. It's definitely a question though, and you'd guess he's asking you something, maybe a name?In any case, you've got his attention and he's not attacking nor screaming and fleeing.
>>2376670Point at where your ears should be and shrug. Then tug on your uniform and point at yourself and him. You're both supposed to be students.
>>2376689Supporting.
>>2376689>>2376696You do your best to demonstrate various important details. Including that you can't understand him, and that you two share things in common as students. He seems to get that, but he strangely seems familiar with you, like he knows you. Showing little hesitation or fear, he moves closer to get a better look at you, even going as far as prodding some of your slime and withdrawing with a laugh when it starts to burn him a little. Excitedly, he gestured for you to follow after him as he intends to lead the way back downstairs the way he came. It's just the hallway down there however and all the rooms, you doubt he's doing something like taking you to freedom letting you go. Though just the same, he hasn't given any reason to indicate that he means you harm.At the very least, it's someone to actually interact with and on a positive note. He's not screaming, trying to flee or attack you, and is even treating you like a person.>How do you proceed?
>>2376762Follow him, this might be a good chance to figure out what happened. Have we been down that hallway yet or remember anything, where does it lead?Clasp your hands, try to look meek and nonthreatening.
>>2376777Well it's the same hallway you've been up and down a few times, where the room you started out in is, and where you first saw this guy. You're not sure where it goes beyond that however since you never went all the way.
>>2376795Signal to the guy that you come from that room. Then point at skeleton then yourself.
>>2376811Supporting
>>2376811Supporting but try to also convey confusion, we have hand like bits right? Try making shrugging/frustration Gestures and or head scratching.
>>2376777>>2376811It's hard to look nonthreatening when you're a goopy mass the relative size of a fridge, but you do your best and follow after the guy, slorping along behind his footsteps. As you may have expected, he leads you to the room you began in and wants to usher you inside, and shut the both of you in. Though with his magic light at least it's much easier to see. Also with magic he starts brushing aside all the cluttered debris to make room for you, which you need, given how much smaller the room feels now to your increased size. You notice the skeleton strewn aside and try to gesture to it and yourself and get the point across. He notices you indicating it, but he casually kicks it aside in a scatter of bones like it's nothing. Instead he grabs the uniform which was yours and holds that up instead and shows it to you. That you do remember so you try and gesture in affirmation which he is pleased with. Well, it is an orc skeleton in the room and you recalled a human self, so maybe those aren't your remains. After that, well it's not so easy since he tries to talk or find ways to communicate with you other than speech since you can't yet understand language, but the point he's trying to get across seems complex. Something akin to, gesturing you and outside the room being bad or wrong, and others like him reacting negatively? You don't want to be cooped up in here but apparently it's the safest place. He also indicates the act of eating, and implies that he'll take care of that? You're starting to get the impression now that before you gained a sense of lucidity and "woke up" in this room, you may have been in here for awhile, and if he was so upset earlier at not finding what he was looking for in this room, that may have been you he was looking for.>How do you proceed?>>2376841Well, hands in as far as the ends of slimy tendrils, but you can roughly gesture well enough.
>>2376847Nod. Stay for now. You can use the time on your own to try and get a handle on your current condition. Practice holding a shape, trying to form bits fast and do some experiments like what happens if you separate a piece of yourself, can you stop being corrosive to things you touch, or testing how physically strong are you and how many things can you form at once.
>>2376864You can tell he greatly appreciates your cooperation, and tries to get across that things will be alright and will try to return. Before he does leave though, he seems to ask if you have a preference on what to eat and if you're able to let him know?
Rolled 39 (1d100)>>2376847>>2376864This but also try meditating a bit and try to recall more of our old self.
Rolled 97 (1d100)>>2376892As for preferences look embarrassed and then indicate the orc skeleton and his magic wand.
>>2376892Cluck like a chicken.
>>2376926And grab an orc femur and make slurping smacking sounds. And give a thumbs up.
>>2376932>>2376926>>2376906>97It's shameful to admit, and depressing that it's what you've come to, but you try your best to indicate that you want some tasty orc or magical treats. You don't take to the thought of consuming people, dead or living, but it seems to be the means of how to learn more about yourself.Your new friend ponders for a moment, but with a realization and a smile, appears to have something in mind. So he magically whisks off the skeleton already there, leaving you in the room for awhile. Within an hour or so, and you feeling quite hungry as your mass diminishes slowly, he returns with a dead orc dressed all strangely and different from the other raiders you saw. It seems too complex a concept to get across but he does his best to try and indicate that this dead orc is somehow magical. Keenly he waits to watch what you do, but if you are to do such awful things you'd rather them in private? Disappointed, he accepts and takes his leave, but gestures that he's going to sleep and will return after. You then are left alone with a much better crystal lamp he provided so you're not totally in the dark, and the body. You watch it with disgust and aversion, distressed and ashamed of what you have in mind and what your slimy body wants to do. You watch it long enough that the hunger though overpowers those misgivings. Yes indeed, tasty treats! You cry big slimy tears of regret, but can't help love the meal. Also a little set aside for the blue slime within you.>Magic body consumed! In digesting the body of someone magic, you gain a better understanding of yourself and your slimy nature as usual, but also a greater sense of your capabilities both at present and potential. As such, you get an improvement as usual, but you also can expand upon what capabilities of yours there are to choose from. Currently you have just Interpersonal and Subsistence, but with this you can choose;>Interpersonal, tier 2>Subsistence, tier 2>Traits (unlock)
>>2376951Interpersonal 2 is probably the smart choice but I gotta see them Traits!Unlock Traits.
>>2376951Communication.
>>2376963That's the normal improvement you can get, but you also get a new range of improvements you can learn. You get both in this case because it was a magic body.
>>2376951Id go with interpersonal for now but I really want to get substance on the next go
>>2376973>>2376967>>2376957Need some agreement, else I'll have to flip a coin!
>>2376977Looks like two for interpersonal to me? I'll change to interpersonal too just to be sure.
>>2376988>>2376973Very well then, interpersonal it is. I assume you're going to make the actual improvement itself to communication, so you can speak and understand language, but just in case here's the new abilities available with the second tier of Interpersonal;>Stability; the ability for you to be able to maintain a consistent shape under various stresses or activity>Viscosity; the liquidity of your slime and ability (or resistance) to flow>Animal Magnetism; the ability to interact with more than just people now>Slime Friend; the ability to interact with other slime on their level, though a reminder that many or most slimes are mindless>Clothing Adhesion; mostly for personal taste though you suppose it might help interacting with people, the ability to wear clothes properly without sliming them up and using them to maintain stability and shape for yourself, though if you don't care about wearing clothes there isn't much point to itAlso having leveled up once now in Interpersonal, you can also suggest a category to add to the list above and if it's appropriate I'll add it as an option. But yeah, those are the new abilities available, alongside the previous ones. If I'm not mistaken though the preference is to improving communication?
>>2377013Yea I’ll vote for comms
>>2377013Yeah communication's probably most important for now. Once she can talk, she can arrange more food to get some physical consistency.
>>2377029>>2377032Communication it is, as you finish absorbing the orc body and reject the skeleton, taking the time to ponder this new elucidation of truths into the nature of yourself. More memories, ones of having conversations with people, talking to friends and asking questions of teachers... singing, while washing clean."If only... ah! Is that... my voice?"You hear yourself speak for the first time, as a slime, and can understand the words now too. It's a great comfort for sure, both at the ease this should bring in communication, but also because it sounds right to you. Maybe you'll never look like yourself again, not properly at least, but at least you sound like yourself again. Those memories now all the clearer, able to put a sound to all that talking. You can't help but laugh to yourself in joy which causes ripples in your form and makes you feel a bit better about things in general. So then, looks like you've got the rest of the night to yourself in here, how do you want to spend it?
>>2377040Develop methods of attack.Like fling out a psuedopod to "slap" something.
>>2377040do >>2377043 and then turn into a ball and go explore a litle bit more. We will be rollin, they will be hatin.also OP you probably really want to start a gdoc with character sheet and stuff
>>2377040Just figure out some of our limits like was suggested before. Changing shape, its limits and how we react to odd stuff like separation of a chunk.Stay hidden in here.
And with that I sleep, night mates
>>2377040Practice working our new body, try and remember our old mind, see if we can actually sleep.
>>2377043You have many hours to go and don't really feel tired or the need to sleep so practicing seems in order. First thing first, you try grasping at reach and figure that could also double as an attack. However, your attempts don't amount to much, it seems you don't have the kind of strength or elasticity to manage that and hold together. It's an idea for a potential future improvement though.>>2377049I thought the agreement was to not leave the room? Also you don't have the kind of stability to maintain a shape while moving.I'll probably try to make something accessible with the relevant information though. Also if I set up a discord for this quest, would people like/use that? >>2377053You try to test out some other things you can do while waiting. The ability to change simple shapes, you've gotten good at with the improvement made above it. Your impression of a gelatinous cube for example is quite good. As for maintaining an identity, the best you can manage is the same, only vaguely humanoid and vaguely feminine. At best just a rough impression of the person you used to be, and really only from the waist up. Still, it's a step in the right direction. The next thing is to try separating parts of yourself, which is actually much harder than you'd have thought, when you always just stick and keep together. Eventually though using a chair you're able to cut off a piece of yourself. The result though becomes a pink slime of that size, which you no longer have any connection to either physically or mentally, and on its own just behaves like a normal slime, like the blue one. It glorps around, probably looking for food, till it notices you and after moving straight for you, upon contact just rejoins your mass.Lastly, you try to examine your corrosiveness, maybe change it even but to no avail. All of these things are good ideas though, and likely you will be able to manage them if you continue to understand yourself better and improve.
>>2377113A discord might be a little overkill. I'm over-committed on discord servers as it stands.
>>2377113Oh man if we can't learn to control our corrosiveness we'll never be able to hug [\spoiler] anyone without maiming or killing them.
>>2377087After all that "physical" exercise, you figure to settle down and try to train your mind next, if you can. Certainly things are becoming more clear the more you improve, like you're waking up after a coma or something with amnesia, but it's slowly fading as the memories, emotions, and realization comes trickling back. You wish you could just sit here long enough, thinking and remember and that you'd fully regain your mind, but in the end it just frustrates you because it doesn't seem possible. Maybe dealing with more familiar things might help, however.Lastly you try to sleep, and do everything you can to make it happen. Eventually after clearing your mind, covering the crystal lamp so it's totally dark, and relaxing control over your form so that you just return to a resting puddle, you finally do manage to go to sleep. Sort of. You don't even really notice it when it happens, your mind sort of just trailed off, and then you suddenly woke back up, but some amount of time must have passed. You don't really feel any better or at least rested from it, and sadly it's not all just a bad nightmare, however you suppose it has some potential to just pass time when you're bored or have nothing to do. Need to wait? Just go to sleep, let the time pass till when you need it to be, and wake up again. In a way, almost like skipping ahead to the future! Unless of course you still have dreams...>>2377125It's just optional if anyone wants it, I wouldn't expect there to be like discussion and planning. That's what the quest/thread is for! This would be more like, just letting everyone know when playtime is, for how long, etc...But again, totally optional.
>>2377133And I think that will be my last post of the night, or close enough. Thanks all for playing, will continue tomorrow as usual. Who knows what may happen to your slimy self next, or what you may plan in the meantime till next we resume.>Not something like this though, for sure, certainly not!
>>2377128That's clearly the secret unlock that Clothing Adhesion gives: the option to turn off corrosion on contact.
>>2377147I think adhesion is simply what it says - adhesion. For being proper non-corrosive slime, we need to invest in ability to turn it on and off at will.>>2377138since other anons just want to muck around, I think we just wait until the boi shows up again. then we interrogate him about us. who are we, what happened to us, why is he hiding us in a closet like a pet, etc.. And if his answers displease us, we eat him. magic body is magic body afterall, and we are always hungry.>evolution priorities - I think these are most relevant so far, we ca get the rest later or not at all, depending how nice the world will be towards us- expert shapechange (so we can attain flawless human-like appearance, turn into ball and roll away fast, and all sort of other stuff)- communication skills - writing, reading, speaking to animals and other slimes may come handy (separate parts of us become new slimes, so maybe we can clone ourselves like this, send our temporary double elsewhere and then rejoin with it some time later and absorb all the knowledge and other stuff?)- magic? magic! duh.- turning off at will our corrosive nature, because hugs- clothes adhesion. we want to be a pretty girl- some sort of attack/defense ability so we are not completely helpless (super corrosion to burn through anything, hardened slime blades/giant hammer, becoming super-fluidy so everything pass through us without harm, elemental resistence (we are probably flammable etc.), aforementioned magic, tentacles,...)

>>2377288>Don't you realize? That guy is the reason we ended up as a slime. Also why the fuck would you anons willingly vote to get imprisoned?Dude chill and think. We currently don't know much and if we do work with what we know all we have is that; he likely knows us from our past, maybe he's responsible for our situation and maybe he's simply a friend who was there when our own mistake blew up in our face. Either way he's currently hiding and feeding us the former is likely a good thing and the later is definitely a good thing. The most sensible course of action is to cooperate for now and try and gain info, whether by talking or remembering. Either we find out he's a friend and thus gain an ally who can move freely in the human world or he's not at which point cooperating and gaining his trust will help lower his guard and make noming him later all the easier.
>>2377723This anon is speaking my mind
>>2377723We don't know much but we do know our memories come back when we consume magical humanoid. >>2377854Or stay here and eventually eat everyone in the academy!
>>2377723
>>2377138Anyway, so an unknown amount of time later (probably the rest of the night) you hear a knock at the door and a familiar sounding voice. Enter the same fellow student as last night carrying a bag."Good morning! How are we doing today?""I've had better days."It seems he had been talking kind of just as a casual gesture to fill the air, and didn't actually expect a response. When you do though, he's both surprised and amazed."Oh, you can talk now?! That's great! If we can- wait... are you smaller? I'll have to try and bring food more often."Indeed, you're quite hungry and can notice that you've diminished in size. Not a whole lot since it's only been a night, and it took him a bit to even notice, but by comparison to him in size you can tell. Maybe you were approximately a big double door fridge, now more like a single door fridge.Thankfully in the bag he's got several steaks, and is polite enough to ask if you want to take them of if he should just like, throw them onto you?>You're free to converse with him now, and talk about or ask what you wish.
>>2377956No railroading! Eat him.
>>2377956Inquire about his knowledge of this room. And possible previous inhabitant, the dead student that was here.

>>2377956"Just toss them, I can't control whether I digest something touching me or not, yet."Other than that start with some small talk. Hint at that we only vaguely remember our life until yesterday. If he'd been infatuated with us in the past he ought to be eager to give us the info we need.>>2377984unless there are orc students at the school, I'm pretty sure that was one of the raiders. We somehow turned into a slime and nommed him first.
>>2377993There wasn't a skeleton in school uniform before?Damn
>>2377956Inquire him about what he was looking for so frantically back in that room.
>>2378010nope, we just ate some random human corpse later, but skellington in starting room was definitely orcyalso on unrelated note, we probably need to evolve better digestion / energy efficiency asap. We are loosing way to much mass in very short time if we dont constantly feed ourselves.
>>2377980Some steaks aren't enough, and you do look at him hungrily, your slimy mouth watering so to speak...>>2377986>>2377993"Just toss them, I can't control whether I digest something touching me or not, yet.""Oh that's a shame, well hopefully you can learn to control that?"There's no in between bites since you realize after taking a few, you don't actually need to use your mouth to eat. So while the steaks dissolve you get to talking with your fellow student."So I guess... who am I? What happened to me?""You're... oh, you don't remember? Well, you're Sadie and I'm Garret, nice to meet you I suppose? Do you remember anything?"By the light of the crystal lamp in this small room together, you spend a good while going back and forth over things, mainly triyng to figure out a common ground on what you know and need to know. A great help and a good sign at least, that your mind and memories do seem to be returning, so there's less he needs to explain. To answer your questions, yes you're a student here at the academy, second year. Unfortunately he didn't know you that well, you were only classmates and he lets on that he kept to himself or wasn't one of the popular types. After some sort of accident where you got slimed however, he gathered up the slime that was left of you (only that and your skeleton and clothes remained, apparently) and brought it down here. Others were just going to dispose of it and he thought it might be good to study, since the slime guilty of the attack had been taken and restricted in the lab, but he never imagined you might still be... alive, somehow.Originally he'd gathered you up in a bucket and kept you in here in secret, otherwise they'd probably not allow it. He was going to keep you safe and feed you, study you, before when he thought you were just a slime. Now, well he's not sure how the academy officials would take to your current state so it's for safety for the time being. Also, he's sorry to admit, but he's not sure how your friends and loved ones, people who knew you would take it. He thinks that, is a decision you should make, it's not his place to go and grab familiar faces and show them to you if you perhaps didn't want to be seen like this.
>>2377984>>2377993The skeleton that was in the room before? No student, it was one of the orc raiders. He's not sure what happened since, once the attack occured he had to seek shelter, but he knows some orcs got down to this level of the building and were ransacking the place. Maybe that orc got in here and found you in the bucket, Garret laughs that maybe he was stupid enough to think to drink you?The room itself isn't anything special, just an old storeroom he happened to find the keys to and uses from time to time, he figured it would be safe to keep you in until he could think of what to do with you. Now though it's convenient given your state.>>2378019You recall when hiding under the opposite room door that during the relative span of the attack, Garrent came down here frantically searching the room, and out of curiosity ask him about that."Back then? I was looking for you, I was worried someone had found my hidden bucket of slime. Well, also all the other things I keep in here but the slime was more special."
>>2378051BLUE!!! You little shite! That thing is going to be soooo eaten....Ahem... (also, kek. bucket and stuff)>wat doShow Blue to Garret, if it is truly responsible for our state. Then elaborate on accident. What exactly happened. We need details. Also if anybody else is responsible. I dotn like the sound of "they just wanted to dispose of our remains"After that, well.. To evolve, we need magical corpses. And lot of them, so Garret better start thinking about something. Were there any more dead bodies from attack? And speaking of atack, what happened? And how?As for our relatives, friends, and other people we know - what exactly do THEY know about what happened to us? We probably want to get reacquainted at some point in the future, but before that we need to become more presentable. Our curretn state simply wont do.Also ask if anything like this ever happened and what is Garrets guess how will people in charge of academy react to our sudden presence? We dont want to become lab rat...
>>2378091I fully support this.
>>2378106>>2378091Ditto
>>2378076my vote remains the same >>2377980
>>2378091This works.
>>2378091Oh and if there are no more bodies present, we are still inside a school.Schools are full of bullies and shitty teachers, who are hated by everybody.Wink winkNudge nudge
>>2378091The coincidences seem too much, that you feel you need to know. Is the blue slime responsible for your current condition?"You mean this?" as you force it out from within you and try to lift it up for Garret to see, "I found it in the lab, all sealed off.""Wow, in the lab?! Does that mean you ate everything in there? Professor Higgins thought the orcs busted in and stole everything! I mean... I'm no slime expert, it just looks like any old slime to me but if you found it in the lab and there weren't any others... then it has to be the one, right? It was a blue slime that was involved in the accident, after all..."Well that would explain why your corrosiveness is at odds with the blue slime, if it's the one that caused your condition to begin with. The accident though, that's right. You vaguely remember something like that and ask about it. It seems Garret wasn't present at the time, only heard about it and sought out the remains after, but according to him and the rumors you had been practicing spells in competition on a usual target dummy. When it was damaged enough though, a slime came bursting out and hit you, something like that. There was a panic but by the time the teachers got involved you were unfortunately already dead. This all only happened like a couple days ago however, so there's still a lot of confusion about it and he's only going off what he heard. Apparently there was going to be a big investigation but now with the orc attack, he thinks what happened to you is probably going to be swept under the rug. A raid on the academy is more dire than a tragic accident of one student.
>>2378296"I'm not partial to being seen as a curiosity at best, and subject for intense study at worst."And this attack has created an excellent opportunity to dissapear and go on a journey of self-finding it seems."Now as a last favour to ask. Could you point me where the recent dead are being held."There is really no need whatsoever to tell him we only grow stronger from eating people. And only larger from any other food. If he can't figure that out on his own, the better.
>>2378296That's another thing, the attack. You don't remember everything about who you were and this place yet, but even so you think it strange for orcs to raid a magic academy."Oh right, that. Well everybody knows about that..." he thinks of how to best explain it, "So there's an orc tribe in the region, things are kind of uneasy between the academy and them... though things are uneasy between everyone and them. Anyway, so the chieftain's daughter turned out to have abilities in magic? It seemed like a nice gesture for the arch mage to offer to teach her here and all? Come to now, a couple of years later and suddenly the princess is all 'civilized' and doesn't want to go back to tribe or get married to some orc barbarian... you can see the chief didn't take that well."Some sort of family squabble then... family. The more you think about it, the more you try and remember your own family... depressingly, you can't recall much of anything about them, only some vague shapes in blurry memories. According to Garret though, he doubts news would have been sent to your family whom he believes to live a good ways away (again, he never knew you well) but he expects the news will be sent after this mess with the orc raid is cleared up. For people close to you and living closer, like friends and your boyfriend here in the academy, as far as anyone knows you just died from the accident. Only he knows of your condition like this and even then he was only expecting a slime out of your remains, not for you to have become a slime.Lastly, out of personal curiosity and concern, you ask if anything like this has happened. To you, for anyone else? "Not that I know of, or have ever read. If you like I could try hitting the books in the library though, maybe something will turn up?"That seems a more long term option, you want to know the immediate; how will the academy and officials react? Unfortunately, Garret thinks your regrets would come true, that you're treated like a lab rat basically. At least if the two of you keep thing secret and reveal to just the arch mage or some teachers. If you were to come public about your change, that might cause enough a fuss that your condition couldn't be covered up... but then he can't imagine how you would do such a "grand reveal" to everyone and not cause panic or get attacked and killed for being thought to be a monster.
>>2378350Project Going on a Grand Adventure still stands:>>2378344Though us having a boyfriend is at least something we should hear about. Learn his name and what Garret knows at least.
>>2378366>>2378350Outside world will be nasty to us, without protection and with very basic set of abilities we are just another monster to the people, or - at best - freak of nature they can put into jar and poke with sticks.I am not saying we should stay at academy forever, but lets exploit it fully while we are here. At very least we need information about our surroundings, what kind of world is out there, where can we get enough sustenance, etc. Remember, we need magical persons to evolve.Orc attack is playing into our hands, so instruct Garret that his steaks wont do and we need more - that orc corpse he brought us earlier was really nice, so lets have more of them. There must be mortuary or something around where bodies are stored. And hint about getting rid of bullies etc. You never know, he may be weak nerd nd will agree with us.As for other stuff, ask about our boyfriend. If he is reasonable and deep in love with us, je may be able to help us too (and maybe he is somebody important - it never hurts to have allies at high places). As for hitting the books, Garret should do so. And tell him about the need for magical people if we want to evolve. This is probably very important. Maybe we need only magic to grow, so some sort of power transfer will work the same.
>>2378350Aquiring enough sustenance so we can replicate a human form is essential before attempting to communicate with more people. Leaving for now seems the best option for now.
>>2378432This is good.
>>2378143An entirely possible vote, but needs at least a slight majority! Or a killer roll.>>2378344All this talk of experiments and being studied makes your slime crawl. Already being cooped up in here is unpleasant enough, actually ending up on an operating table or in a jar like the blue slime is even worse."I'm not partial to being seen as a curiosity at best, and subject for intense study at worst. And this attack has created an excellent opportunity to disappear and go on a journey of self-finding it seems. Now as a last favor to ask. Could you point me where the recent dead are being held.""Leaving?! But you only just got like this, where else are you going to be able to understand what's happened to you? And besides, it's not like you can just get in to where the dead are, it's on watch! If you want your skeleton I can try and get it for you maybe, but otherwise it isn't going to work... whatever you want to do."Garret is a little upset, in part you can tell because you're like his pet project suddenly turned discovery of the century, and now you're trying to up and leave. It's not as though he's trying to imprison you though, but he's certainly trying to talk you out of leaving. Convince you it's for the best for your own sake, and all that.>>2378366But wait..."Boyfriend?""What? Oh yeah, Carter. I think you two were in a relationship, you seemed sweet to each other and from what I heard he took your 'death' pretty badly."Someone that cared about you. Well you have friends here too by the sound of things, but a relationship? It hurts, knowing that like your family, you can't remember it at the moment. The name sounds familiar but without seeing what he looked like, you can't really place him in any memories.>>2378366>>2378439Seems a leaning preference towards leaving?
>>2378446I'm for leaving, but if I get overruled to rather Wobbly Snake our way around school as a pink blob the size of a fridge then so be it.
>>2378446Ask him if he has a safe place for us to hide in, were no one goes, if our current place isn't safe. Then ask if he can sneak more corpses to us.
>>2378474and if this dosnt work, at lest get as much info about outside world as we can. we need to know what we are getting ourselves into (if you guys really want to sneak our pink wobbly ass somewhere else)also I think we should talk to our boyfriend before we leave. worst thing that is gonna happend will be him not believeing us. and since we are already leaving at that time, it is of small concern.
>>2378486Sounds good to me, let's do it.
>>2378486Also the whole accident smells funny and then orc attack - awfully convenient, dont you think? It may be just my paranoia, but somebody tried to kill us and almost succeded. Why, tho? Because of our boyfriend, or perhaps some idiot classmate thought dropping slime on out head would be funny? We need more data.
>>2378474This room is the safest place he knows of, largely in part because he may have the only key besides the caretaker, and no one ever really comes down to check all these rooms. He supposes he could find still a more secret and secure place with help, but then that would mean a harder time to reach you.As for corpses, no he doesn't think so. The shaman he brought you last night was the last he could manage and he had to try to be careful and sneaky not to get caught. By now, they've either cleaned up or tossed out the orc bodies, and the few academy personnel who died are awaiting proper burial. Under the chaos of the attack as well, he could bring you bodies but now even if he went outside and somehow fetched a body, he'd be caught bringing it back into the academy.>>2378486In what order are you interested in pursuing these things? As Garret seems to indicate, from here on, sneaking around is going to be very difficult for you. At least at your size. Not that he's recommending it, but by contrast if you were much smaller he could do something like carry you around in a jar in his robe or something.
>>2378515Information first, getting out seems like an only option for us in the end. Or we will either starve here or start eating people. So let Garret tell us about outside world, anything he knows is good. What is in schools vicinity, any settlements, camps (something we may eat without much fuss or regret), layout of the land, etc. Then ask about slimes, what people do with them and how they dispose of them (we need to be prepared in and know, case of attack, what will be used against us)Then ask again about our boyfriend, friends, and possible enemies. Anything particular ring a bell? Would somebody try to kill us, and if yes, why?lastly, ask about secret way out of school and then for Garret to bring Carter to us. We need to talk, and then probably get the hell out of here. Being carried in a bucket may be workable solution here... lets just hope loosing mass doesnt mean loosing ourselve and devolving into mindless slime.Btw how old are we supposed to be?
>>2378515If the orc bodies have been tossed out, maybe we can sneak out during the night to grab them? Can Garret find out where they are? If we fast all day we should shrink down pretty substantially. Emphasize that we need bodies to develop - there seems to be some sort of minimum complexity required in what we eat to trigger it. There'd be a bigger benefit from magic bodies but we don't want to be doing that to the bodies of our schoolmates. We only just re-learned how to talk and we can barely maintain human shape. We need it just to stabilize ourselves some more.
>>2378546Situated in the country of Vathara, the Tollmeade Academy is a fairly prestigious private institute towards the south, in the hilly region of sprawling green acres and deep forests. Nearby populated places of interest include the town of Gierge which is a bustling river community and does frequent business with the academy, Euven an elven settlement which is a frequent stop for traders through the region, Brubphe a little goblin village and place for passerbys and outcasts, and then the orc tribe which has a couple spots they kind of migrate between every few years when things get rough. Aside of all that, you're likely to find various small settlements, camps, etc... of various races or just common ones whom have such a lifestyle. For the landscape itself, the hills turn to highland and mountains beyond the farther south you go, a prominent river cuts through the region and heads out to sea, the rolling green hills around these parts are mostly grazing and farmland, and any degree of distance to the west in nearly any direction you're likely to hit dense forest. The academy itself was an old monastery, turned castle, turned the institute it is today. Supposedly the location was chosen because of some old cavern which provided easy access to the water table below, so perfect for a cistern and well system. At least this is what Garret knows, he doesn't get out too much so it's based on either common knowledge or things he's read.As for slimes, that's a bit harder for him to say. They're not too common around these parts, where it's wide open places and clear, sunny skies. From what he knows they usually tend more towards waterlogged places like swamps, or if the legends are true they issue forth from underground. Races which dwell beneath the surface know them much better. For disposal it really depends on the slime, but a common practice is just dropping them in a big enough body of water, or leaving them to just diminish to nothing. In general though his knowledge is limited, which is why he wanted to obtain a slime to study in the first place. Even the one which attacked you, had to be dealt with by Professor Grell, a dwarf who had dealt with them before since few others had.For your social circle, he isn't of much help there, you'd have to find out from someone you knew. As one of the popular girls, he suspects you may have had enemies but don't those sorts always do? Even so, he doubts that has anything to do with your "death", but who knows? He can fetch you Carter if you like, but do you really want to meet him like this, like you are?
>>2378667Have him fetch Carter. He needs to know that we're not dead.
>>2378626Well he means tossed out as in, taken out of the academy but he fully expects the orcs upon retreat would have taken them with. There are more than a few orc captives being held for example, in the hopes of ransoming them for a few students and staff whom were also taken hostage. So it's not like the orcs attacked and then just left entirely, he suspects there will be tense dealings between them and the academy for at least a few days or weeks to come. And there's the whole issue with the chief's daughter which hasn't been resolved. You also express the need for bodies without trying to let on too much, however he draws a blank. Perhaps he could maybe try to request the occasional body for study or disposal after the teachers are done with it. However he wonders if by that point they'd be of any use to you, and also he imagines it would attract a lot of suspicion and he'd have to jump through hoops to explain why he's getting bodies but they're disappearing. Even then, he could expect maybe only one a month if that? Unless you have any ideas, he's drawing a blank but he can certainly take some time to think on it. He's sure there's something that can be done to help you.Perhaps interestingly, he's not so opposed to the idea of you eating people he doesn't like. It's not like he's really bullied or anything like that, but there's certainly people he doesn't like, or people whom are like competition to him wanting to be as great a student.
>>2378694>eating schoolchildrenWill you look at that, little guy IS evil afterall. But in order for this to work, we need him to lure these people to us and then he must dispose of the skeleton and other trinkets we leave behind. Still, something to consider.>outside worldseems we may be able to exist here. I gather there is probably plenty of room to maneuver, and we may try to eat bandits and other unfortunate individuals at night while they sleep. Or go catch ourselves drunkard or two. Also what is the weather like? And current season?>fetch carteryea, do it. It is not like we are getting any better in imminent future (as in: we are, and will be, forever a pink slimegirl). If he truly loves us, he will get over it.
>>2378759>>2378690It's spring time, weather is usually clear but it rains often enough. In any case then he departs for the time being, leaving you to your devices. About an hour if you had to guess passes, before you hear the familiar knock at the door. Garret is back and he says he was able to bring Carter though not this far down so if you want to meet him you'll at least need to get to the stairs and call to him. If he hears your voice maybe he'll come down.>How then do you want to present yourself? And of course, make a roll for it!
Rolled 92 (1d100)>>2378803Well then, go to the stairs and call Carter. And tell him he better be ready for something really horrible, because while we are not dead, our current situation leaves much to be desired. As for our appearance, just make best impression of innocent slimegirl with out features.
>>2378844>92Cummon other players, you know you wanna roll too!
>>2378803Try to do something with her hair. Clothes in the right spot. Make a bell shape for the lower half, like a ballroom dress.
Rolled 84 (1d100)
>>2378877no they dont, now stop slacking and give us our husbando
Rolled 18 (1d100)>>2378877Be the cube form, bitches love cubes.
>>2378884Well the school uniform is robes so you can only do so much. Also you can't really formulate above the waist.>>2378844>>2378888>92Accepting the situation and hoping for the best, you let Garret stand watch while you try your best to fix yourself up and shlorp down the hallway to the stairs. Such a surreal feeling to have the kind of strong feelings of fear and hope but to not physically feel them in your chest, the tension in your body. Eventually though when Carter calls down and asks if this is some prank, you muster the courage to speak up.In response he sounds very angry, now convinced it's a prank of Garret to be using some spell to imitate your voice. When he storms down the stairs though and catches sight of you, he panics at first and tries to call out for help to deal with a monster. Your voice again though, pleading with him not to, turns his fear to anxiety. "Sadie?! Is that you?! What has he done to you, I'll get you out of there!"Without hesitation he rushes down to you and plunges his hands into... well basically your face, hoping to pull you out of some slime monster. Despite the burning he struggles against the pain to try and help you, until you push against him to stop and try to talk some sense into him.Fortunately having your voice does wonders, and though it's an immensely hard pill to swallow, eventually he does settle down enough and come to listen to you. Maybe even believe you, you feel. He thinks it could be some sort of prank or magic gone awry by Garret but you assure him this isn't the case, and do your best to try and describe a vague memory or two that you think you shared with him. The bad news is that you barely have anything to go on (although hearing and seeing him now you can at least place him in memories, more than just a blur) but the good news is that even barely anything, he accepts it and believes you."I... I th-thought you were dead. You're alright, I'm... I was..."At a loss for words and such dear feelings he's having to grapple with, he ends up just rushing to make contact again though this time a kiss or three, before he remembers again, you're caustic so has to withdraw... though such an unexpected sense of affection, you can't help but wish for more. But clearing your head and back to the matter at hand, he demands to know what can be done to help you? Does it hurt? Are you in pain? Are you hungry? What can he do to help? Which wizard quill-neck around here does he need to strongarm into returning you back to the way you were?
>>2378972Tell him we are not in pain, and we require sustenance in order to grow in size and gain more control over our body.Ask him about what we were like, our family and friends.
>>2378972To answer his questions:>what can be done to help you?No idea. But bodies seems to do the trick fo a short time. It is not restoration into human, but we are becoming the next best thing.>Does it hurt? No>Are you in pain? No>Are you hungry?Very>What can he do to help?Tell him pretty much everything we told (and discussed with) Garret, about us and our plans. Lets see what Carters input would be. Also we dont remember much of our past yet, so anything he can tell us is welcome.>Which wizard quill-neck around here does he need to strongarm into returning you back to the way you were? For starters, one that will actually help us and not turn us into lab project. Also if he knows about somebody with influence, that may come handy. And tell him about our suspicious about murder.
>>2378972No it doesn't hurt, it's a little scary. Constantly hungry, probably not smart to keep eating though. Still trying to figure out what to do next.Say we're worried about revealing ourselves - we don't know what will happen if we do. We woke up during the orc attack not knowing who we were. We blobbed around eating random things until we started to remember who we were. Thankfully we had just enough memory to avoid hurting any of the students.
>>2379030>>2379040Good ideas, supporting.
>>2379030Oh and ask about our best friend(s), if they are trustworthy enough to be brought into the know. We are in desperate need of minions allies and friends who will help us.This way, if something really bad happens, they should at least tell our family what happened (or just be there to publish everything and make troubles to wizards)
>>2379030>>2379021Do you want to let on that you don't remember things to him?
>>2379091As long as we also say that we've been remembering them.
>>2379091We dont remember much, given our state - there is no point in lying to him because he will know the very second he asks something and we give him only blank stare. But we are getting better, so we will be back to our full memory in no time. Or so we hope.
>>2379128Good plan.
>Sorry for the delay, had to duck out for a bit unexpectedly, but will resume when I get back
>Apologies again for the sudden delay, should be good to go again for awhile even if it's a bit late.>>2379030>>2379021You can talk together, but probably best to do it in the room rather than right there in the hallway. With the chance then you can get to talking, admitting that the accident damaged your mind, though the good news that it is recovering. With this taken into account, he's patient and willing to answer all your questions that you want.Talking about friends and family, as he tries and fails to give a basic summary of your circle of friends and people you know here at the academy. Some better detail at least for your family, explaining how you hail from a wealthy family house the next country over. Though in the same way he doesn't think it's smart to trust your friends on the truth about your nature (no matter how loyal and friendly, more people knowing the truth means more room for problems), it also seems wise not to inform your family. At least, as you had intended towards Carter, not right away. Perhaps once you have a good grip of yourself and can get along with people more easily, maybe then your family can know that their girl turned to slime.Just as well, for academy officials, Carter doesn't trust them either. While he can tolerate your friends, he's not a mage himself so he doesn't much like the staff here. At least not enough to believe that they could be of help. He'll strongarm a teacher without question if it would help, but you know (or knew) them better than he did, for which one to seek out.A better idea to him and in line with an idea you had, he thinks it would be better to get you out of this place altogether and seek help elsewhere. Better that, than a place where it's regular habit to study and experiment on magical creatures which you now are one. He's not sure where you could find help elsewhere but he's willing to do whatever it takes to get you that help, even if he has to rely on his post of (minor) nobility to do so.>>2379063On that matter then it's kind of drawn. Garret thinks if you're careful you could slowly break the news to maybe your best friend or another one or two, maybe some teacher you could trust, or wildcard option just go to the arch mage. Failing all of that, just make some grand public display and hope for the best so that you don't become a lab rat.Carter meanwhile things keeping things secret is safe so far and safe to continue, and though he'll help however he can, he doubts this place is safe. He'd want to get you out altogether, forget any friends or teachers, and figure out what to do out in the world. So it probably falls to you on making a decision. Though it doesn't have to be right now of course.
>>2380104Can we get outside but hang around in the area? That way we can keep meeting them but are at less risk of getting discovered.
>>2380104>wildcard optionSounds like it would be a turbulent thing.>>2380132Maybe near the stables, so it won't look strange dragging food to us.
>>2380132Well the place used to be a castle so it's sheer walls, but it seems unlikely that you wouldn't be able to find some place within a relative distance where you could lie low and still maintain contact with them or anyone in the academy you needed to. Worst come worst though, Garret not wanting you to leave, asks if instead you'd consider retreating to someplace within the academy even more secretive? He personally doesn't know of, but he knows someone who would. Down beneath, what the place was built on. Still, Carter just wants to get you out.
>>2380153Stables for horses and other exotic creatures.Where live specimens would be held.It would also let us have time to wander the area looking for food ourselves.
>>2380168>>2380170Those places are within the grounds, but maybe you could trust the staff member in charge? You could make a roll for your case, with Garret and Carter's help.
>>2380176I wanna know more about this arch mage fellow
>>2380153Get outside and ask Carter to approach a teacher maybe?
>>2380243He's essentially the one in charge of the academy and how it's run. The headmistress is has the final say on things, but mostly the arch mage has the functional power and runs everything, coordinating the council of high mages for the institute. Since he's the one who runs everything, his say would count more than anyone's really, and since he's always so busy he doesn't really have the chance for magical pursuits so it's not like he'd be interested in studying you. Though at the same time he might see you as a risk to the academy, for it's safety or whatnot.>>2380281That could also work, maybe have the two guys feel out which teacher might be most amenable to helping you out, and then seek a meeting while outside the school. If things go bad, well you're out already, and if things go well then it's only a matter of returning.
>>2380292I like hiding outside while the others sound out teachers.
>>2380381You can go with that plan then. How might you be wanting to escape the structure then? And of course, you'd be rolling for it.
Rolled 15 (1d100)>>2380388Unless they know of a better way, head back to the laundry room and out the way we know.
Rolled 70 (1d100)>>2380388
>>2380426Phew, you saved it.
>>2380426>>2380422>70You decide you'd rather take your chances outside than in here, and ask to leave. Garret raises protest, but Carter intimidates him into helping. There's all this planning then on how to sneak you out but you bring up just leaving via the laundry room. The both of them are in confusion and Carter is worried that would kill you, the fall. A reminder of being slime, and how you can't die that way, or shouldn't. So really all there is to do then is try and sneak you to the laundry room. Garret acts as a lookout, while Carter distracts a couple people in the laundry room, giving you the chance (by the time you get there) to basically enter the room, quickly shlorp to the outside portion which is like a great big open balcony where clothes are hung, and just drop over the side. It's a sheer drop from up here down the walls and you hit the ground with a great splatter causing you to mess all over the place. Thankfully you had the good sense not to bring the bottles and flasks of alchemical brews, lest you hit the ground with an explosion as they break. The largest part of you is able to eventually merge with the rest of you again, recapture the blue slime, collect up the few trinkets you'd been carrying and put your robe back on. Looking back up you can see Carter all the way, leaning over the edge and giving you an "ok" wave. Looking ahead though you stare across the rolling green hills, forests, fields and streams before you into the open world; the walls of the academy stand at your back and freedom lies ahead.>How do you proceed?
>>2380436Wave back.Figure out how we handle water right away - it's supposedly a weakness. Follow the stream and try drinking some to see how that affects us.
>>2380456And then hurry into shelter. We kind of stand out in the open, in our big pink slimy glory.Forest would do for now, I suppose. Cave preferably. And try to get close to one of the places that was described as full of unsavory characters or just a camping spot for orcs. We need to evolve, therefore we need bodies to digest.Btw we did talk to the guys about meeting place, where and when we meet together in the future to discuss our progress, right?
>>2380460Did you specify you wanted to talk about that with them?>>2380456Your first action of freedom? You want a drink! Shlorping over the grass and down the hill from the academy then, noticing to pick up many bugs in the process, you glorp around for awhile till from a vantage point you can see a stream. Picking a place out that has some trees around it, you travel down through the taller grasses and between the foliage to reach the water. You're very careful about it though in how you do, and fearing the worst you dip just a grown arm in. The effect is quite rapid in that it and the slime leading from it swell up quite significantly and become more transparant. You don't feel physical sensations anymore, but it has a gratifying feel to it, like sating something in your body besides hunger. You try and grapple with the feeling to get used to it, enough that you don't pay much attention to your arm until before long it's so big and swollen that you can hardly control it anymore and it just drops off of you entirely to splash into the water. Right away it becomes just a normal slime, but pretty quickly as it drifts down the stream it swells more and more and becomes more translucent till eventually it ruptures like a baloon and kind of just diffuses into nothing among the stream. Quite a morbid sight and thought, as you draw what remains of your arm back to your body. An interesting and otherwise pleasant sensation overall though, and you also notice more quickness to your form and an ease of movement. It seems too much water is a bad thing, possibly lethal, but the right amount is pretty nice actually. Probably just take some getting used to finding the right balance, if you cared to make it a regular thing.During all this time experimenting though, and by the time you slorp along the sand to leave, you hear the approach of hooves. Cautiously peering out through the reeds, you catch sight of Carter atop a horse, looking for you. You can signal him no problem, as he dismounts to make sure you're ok. Interestingly, out of habit he makes contact with you again by accident, but remarks that it doesn't really hurt as much this time."You thought I'd just abandon you? Not my girl."How sweet, if only you could blush. He wants to know what the plan is though, and where you want to go? He knows this area much better than Garret since he actually gets out, so if you have a place in mind he can try to escort you there or at least accompany you some of the way. As well, to know where you'll be at.He does have some urgency though, because the orcs who attacked the academy are camped out right nearby. Normally they wouldn't be but they're awaiting negociations to take place for prisoner transfer and all that, with the institute. Surely though if they saw someone riding around nearby they'd try to catch them too.
>>2380462>meeting placeI presume we are not completely retarded and mentioned it. But with Carter around it is a moot point now>wat doWe may try to ambush and eat some orcs at night, earn some good rep by saving people and stuff, but lets do this first - we need:-shelter-foodCan Carter help us with this? For shelter, even dry cave would do. For food, aforementioned orcs if we are lucky, but we may be able to survive on animals for a while. Also telling us about area in greater detail would be apreciated.
>>2380468Go with this.
>>2380462If he could take us to a good lookout point and point out some areas of interest from there, and maybe show us a good hidey hole along the way that would be good.He shouldn't stay out too long though.
>>2380468This, but while we wait for nightfall, let's experiment with this new form, I want to see if we can separate a part of us and still control it.
>>2380983I think there was an upgrade we needed to communicate with slimes. We might need that before we can control slimes.
>>2380468>>2380490Sure he can help you, make a roll. He might even know just what you're after.

>>2381349Speaking of that, if we can get a bucket we can get that agility boost easily. Depending on how much water we can safely absorb it might be a good way to boost size before going hunting too.
Rolled 25 (1d100)>>2381273Oh and rolling.
>>2381491Stand back! I have a bucket! And I'm not afraid to use it!I'm pretty sure a typical bucket load dumped into our current mass shouldn't be anywhere near dangerous.
Rolled 16 (1d100)>>2381273
>>2381508Yeah but buckets are reusable, y'know? It's more for dosage control.
>>2381288>52Surprisingly, for as much as Carter knows of this area, it's not as much as you may hope when searching for a place or you to take shelter. You want something like a cave maybe, to become like your slime brethren, but just locating a cave is a little more difficult than it would seem. The closest thing though, Carter knows of an old burned down house in part of the forest not far from here that he discovered while huntint one day. You could live out in the cellar for the time being, till figuring out a more longterm plan. So trotting his horse over there at a slow enough pace for you to follow, it takes about two hours to reach it. A lot though was him having to try and remember where the place was, the good news though is that in all that time you didn't run afoul of any orcs or miscreants. Just an encounter with some shepherdess where you merely lay low in the grass till she talked with Carter and moved on.The place itself though when you find it, looks decent enough. It may have been some witches cottage or a hermit or huntsman, but it's long since been abandoned. Most probably wouldn't even think to check for a cellar, which carter has to dig aside some overgrown plants and old dirt and mud to uncover the door. Once inside though, it's dark and damp, wide open and plenty of places to hide. Perfect for a temporary hold over till you find a more permanent residence. He feels bad to have you living in a place like this and leaving you, but before he departs he'd like to help you out, to be more at home if there's any way he can? And of course, if you need him for any plan for later, like involving orcs. And from here no problem, he can give you some directions if you had a place in mind to search for, or any of those points of interest already described.
>>2381610Aww, don't worry. Damp is pretty much perfect for our slime physiology. Now how about some quick pointers for what's around here so we can come up with more of a plan about what to do next.
>>2381610I don't like not being self sufficient.Ask Carter if he can find out if there are any semi intelligent pest humanoids near by, so we can eat and grow stronger.
>>2381610Thanks for everything Carter. If he could give us a general lay of the land that'd be great. But he really should hurry back: there's orcs about
>>2381645Well what do you consider to be pests? Because he thinks goblins are pests but to some they are normal people. Also you're not sure to what degree of intelligence something needs to be for you to gain anything from eating it.>>2381635>>2381705Well you're out here in the woods so you might find a better person to point the area out considering Carter has only come by here for hunting a few times. However off the top of his head, he's aware of;>An actual witch, a troll who isn't far from here>A small clan of rabbitfolk with a large den in the area>One of the orc tribe's transient settlement locations, where some are always hanging around>A few foresting humans living out of a few wooded homesteads who interact between everyone and kind of act like a line between the "community" of this small area>An enchanted spring with some stranger magical creatures and beings who frequent it
>>2381812Let's thank him for his help and see him off.
>>2381812And watch out for those orcs!
>>2381851>>2381858You bid Carter well and wish him the best, telling him to be careful on the way back. He says not to worry though, he'll find out someone in the academy who can help, and he'll be back to visit for sure. No way is he leaving you to live in a place like this for long. And so at his departure, you hear the hooves fade to the sound of bugs and birds of the forest, and once again you're on your own. But you're free.>How do you proceed?
>>2381895Let's scout out the orcs at night.
>>2381895Get the lay of the land. We should know places to hide if things go south.
>>2381812Goblins and orcs and humans that raid and pillage and plunder would be considered pests.
>>2381905supportwe may do some orc scouting while we are at it, but Preparations come first

>>2382005>>2382002>>2381978>87You can make a rounds of the area then looking for anything of interest besides what you already know. Luckily you avoid any trouble or much attention, and in the process find an old ruined watchtower, and a good hiding spot under an old dead tree which must have been some large animal's den at one time. One other thing that Carter wasn't aware of, but there's a goblin caravan that makes the rounds in these parts, that you actually run afoul but they don't seem to mind if you keep your distance and don't pose a threat. As for the magic spring, do you want to try to sneakily get to it, or act all polite to whomever might claim domain over it.
>>2382222Let's be polite but prepared to run, can never be too careful arround magical beings.
>>2382234Seconding
>>2382222Potential fae? Courtesy is a MUST.
>>2382234>>2382259Caution seems to be key here as usual, in your approach of this place. You can tell it from afar because it's evening time by the point you travel to it, and you can see the faint glow of the waters through the woods and clouds of magically-afflicted bugs and small animals. You also hear the strange but appealing song of some denizens, seeing some naiads and dryads about the place, enjoying the magical bounty of the natural wonder. Playful chatter, lighthearted conversations, and the singing of a few. It seems so peaceful and inviting that you approach in a polite and friendly manner. "Eugh, what is that?!""I think it's a she!"You emerge from behind the trees and try to approach the water, but when one of them catches sight of you and screams, the attention of others follows suit. Their reaction is... less than friendly."Well don't let her near the water, I don't want the spring all slimy!""Get out of here, go away! Go back to the Underdark!"Some of the denizens there retreat from you while others take offense. Some of the naiads toss water at you and some of the dryads possess nearby trees to try and swat at you. One or to of the former even cry for help.It seems they don't like slimes here. It's upsetting too because you tried to be nice and polite, and not hostile at all but they're just judging by your appearance... actually not even that, they just think you're gross and icky and don't want you around.
>>2382365Yell at them for being mean. You just wanted to talk.If they wont listen, leave and plot to eat some of them.
>>2382394Can we eat wood? Also seriously we still have a human mind, murder should not be out most common default response.
>>2382394>>2382421Plant matter you can't do anything with, only animal. There was that bag of grain when you first started out, but that was still in the sort of food-source determining phase. By now you've eaten enough people and animals that it's your chosen food source (plus it's more interesting). If you really want to ham up the pathetic look you can, make a roll and maybe play on their heart strings?
>>2382365Tell them to suck our slime.
>>2382441Lets hope we dont piss em off.
Rolled 85 (1d100)>>2382441
Rolled 15 (1d100)>>2382444Its getting too late for me, christ.
Rolled 17 (1d100)>>2382441
>>2382445>>2382447>>2382449>85You blub and cry and call them mean and tell them to choke on slime, you just wanted a look of the place. As before you've found, your voice and communication does help a great deal, and your pitiable display does sway some watery and wooden hearts. At least enough that they're no longer attacking you or wishing you ill, though they still don't want you actually entering the spring. A few naiads take pity on you, admitting their mistake for thinking you a normal slime, and remarking of your similarity to an undine. In truth what a wretched creature you must be to them, but if you are so interested in the spring they can offer you the contents by proxy and pouring from their water-bearing jugs. Though how much you take is up to you of course.
>>2382483Take a couple, see what happens.
>>2382483Take a sip, and thank them.
>>2382483Not too much, but not so little to make us seem like we are spurring their gift.
>>2382494>>2382500>>2382501You take a wholesome drink of the spring water offered, feeling yourself swelling up in the process at the addition of more water to your form. The naiads laugh at this and remark you being "quite adorable" on a second look, and giving you a chance. Most interestingly though, your form swells as expected and you get the usual benefits from being hydrated like feeling much more agile, maneuverable and rejuvenated, energetic like that. Also however, one of the naiads notices and points out, a glowing coming from within your robes at first, which starts to spread through your mass. Obvious a product of the magic waters, though eventually the glowing subsides into a strong sparkle, a shimmer within your slime which lingers. You recall a similar sight when you first absorbed that light giving crystal. This prompts a stir of memories in you, of who you were and in particular various times of utilizing and wielding magic, being the mage that you were. It's not like years of practice and study just return to you, but you start to get the idea and wonder if you couldn't still perform magic perhaps? You, the slime "you" is formed out of your... basically digested body, maybe some of the magic naturally latent in your body was carried over? Certainly you know eating magic bodies has some improving effect on you in the way of learning about yourself and such. You're quite absorbed in this thought, though the naiads take to chattering about and at you, seeking to act friendly and learn more about you. All sorts of questions of who you are, where you come from, what is up with you being a slime and all, a lot of curiosity like a bunch of older girls towards a new younger one.>How do you proceed?
>>2382532>I wish I knew. And>Do yall know if slimes can cast magic?
>>2382543Unfortunately they know little if anything about slimes. They have heard of types which can do things like shoot fire or lightning, but that's the type of slime they are rather than the slime itself casting spells like that. Again, most slimes are mindless so even if they were magic it's not like they'd have the intelligence, skill or learning/training to cast spells.
>>2382647Thank them and go back to our places of interest.
>>2382532We have been a slime for a day and a bit! Tell them a little about our experiences and what being a slime has been like. Have they ever heard any stories of this hapoening to someone?
>>2382647>I used to be a girl and now I'm a slime, go figure.Than this>>2382656
>>2382660>>2382656You talk to them for a little while to be polite and of course thank them for their time and giving you a second chance. You converse for a little bit about your condition and try to learn anything new but turn up blank. Before you go however one gives you a small magic rock which to toss in the water next time you come around so they can know it's you and avoid the hassle. After that, well it's night now, only just. Where do you want to head among the places you know? Or was there an idea to try orc hunting?
>>2382683Look for bandits.Orc or not, bandits will not be missed by society, and killing them would be a good thing.
>>2382693Make a roll, the chance of you just randomly finding some bandits, particularly when you move so slowly, is low. But not impossible!
Rolled 53 (1d100)>>2382704
Rolled 54 (1d100)>>2382704Also we can pilfer their stolen goods.
Rolled 70 (1d100)>>2382704
Rolled 62 (1d100)>>2382704Time to ruin someone's day. Maybe our own!
Rolled 79 (1d100)>>2382704witness my slime friend
>>2382723>>2382707>>2382725>>2382706>>2382754>79Well by relying on the goblin caravan, they can inform you of some bandits they are aware of and cause problems sometimes, though they only have a vague idea where they come from. It's better than nothing and a start though, so you shlorp off through the forest in search. It takes you a few hours but eventually you find some signs of passage and follow them to a light in the woods. There, in and around a number of immoble carriages, is a little group of bandits. You lurk and observe for a good while, noticing about eight in total. All doing various things, some are gathered about a campfire and spending a merry time, others are off doing their own thing like maintaining their gear, being sweet with one another or basic chores. They appear mostly human but there are three which are different races, though all of them you would think count as "people" for consuming purposes. >How do you proceed?
>>2382774Lure the watchmen out, then go for the ones maintaining their gear.
>>2382782How are you doing this? And roll, of course.
Rolled 48 (1d100)>>2382789Maybe like a whistle?
Rolled 50 (1d100)>>2382789Some noises, maybe some low mutterings to make the orc think there might be an intruder, what ever to lure him to us.
Rolled 60 (1d100)>>2382774We could just wait for someone to leave to answer a call of nature? Not like we need to sleep.
>>2382803>>2382798>>2382795>60That's pretty simple then, just wait for someone to go take a leak. Do you want to wait for specifically the guard to do this though, or just try and snag anyone who does?
Anyone, but guard or armed one preferably.
>>2382821Snag anyone. We can grab someone then hopefully grab the watchman after he notices the first guy's been gone for a while and investigates.
>>2382826>>2382829We'll pick them off one by one ass they all go pee.
>>2382842Operation Take The Piss
>>2382842>>2382829>>2382826You'll take whoever you can, why settle for just one? So you watch and lurk, keeping an "eye" out for anyone excusing themselves. The first one is simple enough, one of them drunk and stumbling out of the campe, that you shlorp up to and engulf when they're busy marking a tree.>Body consumed! The second, she's not as drunk but has a harder time getting her clothes undone which is the peftect chance to attack. >Double slimed! The third is the guard, though not for a toilet break but because he notices two people having not come back after an hour or so. In this case he's on alert, so while you are able to shlorp up and grab him, it's a struggle where he fights against you and fights to try and flee. You slowly but surely surge more and more over him till engulfing him entirely, but in the process a lot of noise is made and shouting, screaming. >Third slime's the charm! Thus it alerts the others whom take up arms and cluster around the fire at the center. While you're digesting the guard, you can hear them shouting, calling out, and trying to figure out what to do. Although they're all clustered in one place now, they're all cautious so drawing them out or getting to them stealthily may not be possible. While you formulate a plan though, you also gain a good amount of mass, and come to understand your nature much better. None of the people you just ate were magical it seems, but you still can improve upon skills you already are aware of. Three times, for three eaten. >While doing this, you notice a magic lighting spell launched into the air above the camp. Magic you can tell because in your memories gained from the magic spring, it's a spell you recognize.
>>2382868We want to set up for a fight, so I say we spend the first one on Bolster, then use it to focus on mass gain for the next two meals. Then we grab Appetite and Digestion to engulf and eat fast and imitate the Blob. Can we counterspell that light?
>>2382868Holler for help, then move to a less obvious place while leaving a skeleton where you were.
>>2382888You imagine you could counterspell the light, however currently you don't know how. You just gained the intuition that in time and with improvement you might be able to start casting magic again. Not presently though, no.
>>2382898A clever ploy, however you can't imitate any of the dead's voices, and even when you try they just shout back for you to come to them if you need help and don't budge from the center of the camp.
>>2382899Ah thanks. Well I think we need to settle what new abilities we grabbed and check how big we are now, since that'll affect how we tackle things.
>>2382920After eating those three people, you've recuperated the mass you lost and are a bit bigger than a double-door fridge. So you're a little bigger than you were before leaving the academy. But yes, improvements need choosing.
>>2382918Can we detach a part of ourself and launch it towards them? Then we can rush them while they are confused.
>>2382925Also just a heads up but this may be my last post of the night. Apologies for being early but I've got an early start tomorrow. However because of that, I'll also be back and able to continue much earlier. I assume in the meantime, you'll be able to agree upon improvements and formulate a plan of attack. Assuming you want to go after the rest of the bandits that is.>>2382929You can't throw it (though you imagine that's something you could learn) however you certainly could just try to separate parts of yourself and hope that they go after the bandits. There's quite a lot of you in terms of mass so it's not like you couldn't separate into a few slimes. Also recall that you have blue slime with you (inside you) too.Though for this you would need to roll twice; once for actually trying to separate yourself, which is quite easy to do (at the moment), and once for the collective effort of the slimes against the bandits. Basically to see if they will end up going after them or wander off to do their own thing.
>>2382933Wait I just realised I might still not properly understand Bolster. Let me try again. If we use Bolster, it's twice as much mass and energy gained from a meal, but it's temporary instead of permanent?
>>2382868I vote that we go for a balanced approach to our upgrades. Appetite, Self-Image and Consistency.
>>2383002Consistency for durability, and what ever the one it is that makes us selectively acidic.
>>2383000Yes that is correct. It lasts for one hour.>>2383002Spreading out is one option though how much more consistency do you want? You took it once before so that you weren't just a syrup puddle, but you're pretty slimy now. The more you improve it, the more solid-like you become. Though that may work to your liking.
>>2383010You don't have anything which can chance your acidity. You imagine it to be possible but it's not something you have yet.
>>2383013JelloMust bounce and jiggle like jello.Carter will really like that.
>>2383016>>2383013Oh and, actual last posts of the night. Thanks all for playing, I look forward to what your decisions and planning are for tomorrow!

To help people out I skimmed the thread for ability info to get it all in one place: Interpersonal Lvl 1>Communication: Can currently talk and understand speech, next tier is ???>Self Image: Ability to control your own form, to try and maintain a specific physical appearance. Current best effort is vaguely humanoid, vaguely feminine. >Consistency: Cohesion of your body and slime consistency. Currently thick and goopy. Further improvement would be a firm outer surface with a liquid interior similar to a water balloon.>Sensory: Ability to detect external stimuli. Basically senses like sight and hearing.Subsistence Lvl 1>Appetite: The time it takes you to digest things. Each level halves the time. Currently about 30 minutes to digest a body.>Bolster: A temporary surge in size and power. Specify you're using Bolster before consuming something. For each level in Bolster, you get double the energy and mass from eating but it vanishes after an hour.>Digestion: How you actually break down your food. The first level lets you engulf and imprison a target and dissolve it within yourself, rather than having to rely on surface contact.Interpersonal Lvl 2>Stability: Your ability to maintain a consistent shape under various stresses or activity.>Viscosity: Liquidity of your slime and ability (or resistance) to flow.>Animal Magnetism: The ability to interact with more than just people.>Slime Friend: The ability to interact with other slimes on their level. Note: Most slimes are mindless.>Clothing Adhesion: Aesthetic option? Can wear clothes! You don't get slime on them and can use them to maintain your shape.Because Interpersonal was levelled up, there's also the option to create new Interpersonal abilities - suggest one and it will be added if appropriate.Sadie's current abilities:>Interpersonal; Self-Image (3), Communication (1), Consistency (1), Sensory (1)>Subsistence; Appetite (1)Three new picks! That's almost 50% more slime per slime!
Oh I messed up, Communication is currently level 2.

We dont have cloak (yet), but we can improve our mobility and versatility.I suggest dumping everything into Self image or spare one upgrade for Consistency. What I desire to get:- much faster and quicker slime (moving around and changing shapes. we blitzkrieg slime now)- more shapes (not just ball, cube, or vague person, but also tentacles, more elabotate shapes (proto-weaponry), and stuff)- ability to quickly and effectively restrain, not just glomp and suffocate (wraping tentacles around people, turnin into poodle, let people step into us and then hold them in place them, etc. Breaking limbs would be best but I dont think we are going to be able to do this now)- in future, camouflage and cloaking (think color change, then actual camouflage patterns, then full Predator)>wat doleave the corpses and slowly circle the camp while staying out of the light. Be sneky and patient. Sooner or later they will gather courage to move out and investigate. They may even split out (best option but lets not count on it). So we follow them and lay a trap we prepared while waiting:- become poodle on the ground or in the trees- try to mask ourselves with leaves, bark, ground, and other stuff laying around so we will be less pinky at least- wait for our prey to step in us / get under us- restrain them / glomp them- go for the head immediately, preferably eyes, ears, nostrils (in this order). we need them to panic and loose their senses, so eating most valuable sensory parts asap is a good thing. even if they escape, they are crippled now- GEEK THE MAGE FIRST!!!
>>2382888This was me before but I had a more creative idea. Get Viscosity, Digestion and Slime Friend. Detach about a quarter of our mass as a new slime and ask it to head into the camp after a short delay. Meanwhile we circle around and head in being as liquid as possible. The idea is while they're attacking it, we get in amongst them as a giant puddle and engulf as many people as we can. Preferably grabbing the mage. Then we can rejoin with our blob friend if it survives and turn carcasses into more consistency and self image.
>>2383523Hmm... This may work too. How about a trap tho? Send our slime and blue, but order them to lure the bandits out of the open into the forest. Less space for people to maneuver and we can be more effective with our ambush (they may step into us and then we glomp). I am just not sure if we can give to our slimebros more complex order.
>>2383513Also here I obviously meant puddle, not poodle. Autocorrect ftw.
>>2383530>>2383523Although you could imagine being able to instruct slime, particularly slime created from yourself, you can't do that at the moment. And as a fair heads up, the ability to communicate with them is not the same as controlling or commanding them. But anyway, it seems like you have a plan of attack, did you finalize on the improvements you wish to make?>>2383447This is very helpful, thank you.
>>2383681I would say:>Stability>Viscosity>DigestionThese would seem to be the best upgrades to our combat potential atm.
>>2383688Alright then, over the course of digesting those three unfortunate bandits, you were able to ponder your slimy nature and learn some new tricks. For stability, you can now move while maintaining a shape, so you can keep your half-humanoid form in moving rather than blobbing along. For viscosity, you now have less of a problem with dripping and draining, particularly useful for example if you're trying to reach an "arm" out and don't want everything inbetween covered in slime. And for digestion, you no longer have to basically hug someone to consume them with surface contact, you can actually draw them into yourself and dissolve them from within. Though that doesn't mean they may not be able to escape. But anyway, you want to go with these >>2383513 >>2383523 ? Basically try to make some smaller slimes and with them as a distraction, try to trap the bandits? You can do this but will have to make two rolls. One for the other slimes and one for your own action.
>>2383700I mostly agree with >>2383513. Hide, and go for surprise attacks on their vitals/senses. Killing mages is always a priorety over non-mages.
>>2383707Oh well then you only need to roll once.
Rolled 98 (1d100)>>2383716Let's go
>>2383719>98That's nice, now everyone else roll!
Rolled 86 (1d100)>>2383716
Rolled 90 (1d100)>>2383716
>>2383719>>2383728>98So you stalk the lot of them and simply wait. They need to sleep, eat, use the toilet, all of these things and more. You don't. The only thing you have to worry about is keeping fed and watered, and you just ate three people so you've got all the time in the world. To their credit they're a stubborn and cautious lot, these bandits. They set watch shifts, keep together, and wait even till sunrise before they finally give up waiting and would prefer to leave than wait around for some unseen menace to get them.Which is just perfect for you! Shlorping around and watching and waiting, you come to position yourself like a giant puddle on the ground where you know they are going to retreat by. And in good timing too, as after conversing among themselves, they up and make a break for it. Probably trying to catch off guard whatever they think is out there waiting to get them. But instead they just come right to you. A rush of activity and a dash of running, till their feet land in your slimy mass on the ground and only too late do they notice. >Slimed! Then like some gooey bear trap you surge up and around them, despite their screams, panic and struggle. In particular you focus on the mage, which leads to one of them able to free herself and in turn try to attack you. But there's not much she can do since she's afraid to hurt her comrade who are trapped within you and suffocating, soon to be dissolved and turned to slime.Care to do anything towards her, or just scare her away? With four people trapped quite snugly in your slimy mass, you can't really chase after her or even move really, while she screams and cries and tries to swing at you with her sword and chop into slime.
>>2383736Kill and save for later.
>>2383742How? You can't really catch her, she's fully aware of you now and will keep her distance, and you don't have ranged or even reaching capabilities.
>>2383748Spit out a comrade that isn't dead. She will come to save him, and then get them both.
>>2383756Are you sure you want to do that? They could both get up. Another thing you'd have to roll for. Assuming you actually do it.
>>2383767Just gotta focus the digestion at their legs before release, so they can't just run away.
Rolled 84 (1d100)>>2383769And we're caustic enough to digest within 30 minutes, so it wouldn't take long to digest them enough to disable them with out killing.
>>2383769I think our digestion is passive and unfocused atm. If we were to spit someone out, maybe only the upper body so the last one will try and pull him out.
>>2383773AhGood point.Lets do this then.
>>2383779I'd be willing to try, as long as we dont spit out the mage.
>>2383783Agreed.
Rolled 39 (1d100)>>2383779So you want to dangle someone out in the hopes of her trying to rescue them?
>>2383812Thats the idea, no idea if we are too weak to hold onto our bait though.
>>2383812Yes, we would also need to look stressed, like we bit off more than we could "chew" to make it believable, instead of an obvious ploy.
>>2383772>>2383812Well the bait tactic works in that you can dangle someone half out by reaching inside yourself and pulling them out. The remaining bandit even falls for the bait, but you can drag her in enough to fully engulf her. When she starts getting burned she withdraws in fear, this whole ploy taking place three times before she gives up and goes back to trying to whack you with her sword. You don't lose the bait though at least. Probably you'll have to wait till digesting the others, then try to catch up to her if you can, or want to. You doubt she will remain for much longer after she can tell her comrades are dead for sure.
>>2383825Whoops, significant typo,>but you can't drag her in enough
>>2383829Well then, just leave her alone and go about our business.
>>2383829Did the bandits have any weapon? Any spear or sword that we can throw at her/attack her with?
>>2383825>>2383834Agreed, might come back to bite us, but we have no way of taking her down too.
>>2383825Just to be sure, she'e completly ineffectially slashing at our slimy bits for a while now?If so just produce a strong gurgly, guttural laugh to scare her away. Don't use our person voice mix and match slime noises.Or attack her with one of the other's weapons like >>2383840 is saying. We probably never received any weapons training but: "Spears, even a total idot can use them. In fact, countless idiots use them right now!"
>>2383843Can't we just throw the blue slime at her though?
>>2383834Oh well, you can't get all of them. After screaming and crying enough and having no effect at attacking, she even pleads for you to let her friends go as if hoping one of the gods will answer her prayers. But eventually when they stop struggling within, and their outsides are all corroded away, she isn't going to remain for a lost cause. You feel bad about it, and lament your need to eat people. However these are bandits. If you were your former, human self, you'd have no issues about getting rid of them then, with magic. So why should it be any different now, when you actually benefit from it? If anything, you're doing the community, the area a service! Well, in any case,>4 people slimed, 2 of them magic! There was the mage you knew about, but it seems one of the other bandits also had latent natural magic and probably just never knew or expressed/tested it. Shame, what a waste of potential. But good for you, you get the usual four improvements from four bodies consumed, as you become more and more practiced and familiar with your slimy nature. But you also get to learn two new ranges of improvements, whether that be an upgrade to a category you already have or one(s) you haven't yet.>>2383840They do, but you can't wield them with any measure of precision. Though you imagine it's something you could learn.
>>2383848Yeah basically, she just kept stabbing and slashing at your slimy mass to no effect, her weapon isn't even magic.>>2383849You considered that earlier, no you can't do that. Yet. You could let blue slime (or one of your own slimes) off after her, but it's unlikely that she would fall prey to them, especially when she expects and can see them coming.
>>2383874I'm for:Animal MagnetismViscosityConsistencyAppetiteFor the mage upgrades, we really need to fugure out how to control our corrosiveness. And we eventually want to at least pass as a human girl again.
>>2383874Self ImageAppetiteConsistencyDigestion (Might help us control our corroding)
>>2383874Before I forget did we gain any new insight into our pre-slime self?
>>2383905seconding
I wonder if eventually we can become something like pic related
>>2383513dont forget about predator thing
>>2383851Hang on let's unlock the Traits category and Subsistence 2 before we make all our picks.
>>2383700Also our new baseline after those three we absorbed is this:>Interpersonal; Self-Image (3), Communication (2), Consistency (2), Sensory (1)>Subsistence; Appetite (1), Digestion (1)>Interpersonal 2; Stability (1)Digestion 1 let us engulf, Consistency 2 is water balloon-like and we don't currently know what the next level in either will mean.
Just to clarify, that one bandit git away?If yes, we need to develop hiding abilities, because we will have hunters on our tail in no time. Big man-eating (pink) slime roaming the countryside? Not good for our health.
>>2384212Yeah another nice-to-have would be some sort of density control - contracting or expanding our body. It'd let us display a more consistent size when interacting with people and have a few applications for fighting and sneaking.
>>2384212Well, we have been disatrous for other people's health so far.Not like they will be missed by too many people or were already killed, but still..
>>2383912Well that always depends on what upgrade you choose. So we'll see.>>2384122Sure thing, you can use the two magic bodies to learn the next tier of Subsistence, and unlock the Traits category. And in doing so, you also have an idea that after Traits, the next category that could be learned is Combat. But for what you unlocked;Subsistence 2>Decay: The rate by which your mass decreases over time without eating or drinking, in this case a reduction.>Nutrition: Get more out of your food, which increasing improvements making you better able to benefit from what you eat.>Glutton: You make sure you get everything out of what you eat, from the food sources you come into contact with. You clean your plate after eating, so to speak.>Store Meal: You can save a food source for later, coating it in a special slime of yours which protects said food from being digested immediately. And since it's the second tier, like with Interpersonal 2, you get to suggest an ability if you like and it will be added if appropriate.Traits>Corrosion: How caustic you are, either increase or decrease. Not both though, you have to specify either more or less. Note, this doesn't impact your ability to digest, just the nature of your slime itself.>Flavor: What flavor of slime you are! If you want a flavor. Further improvements can lead to more than just cosmetic purposes.>Color: What color of slime you are! If you want a color. Further improvements can lead to more than just cosmetic purposes.>Quickness: How fast you are able to move, basically your style of locomotion.>Tidal Movement: Your have control of your interior and movement within it, so that you don't need to physically reach inside yourself to grab or pull something out. You can just move things around within you at will.So with these new categories learned, how do you want to spend your four available improvements? The same things, or some of these new ones?
>>2384552>Self Image>Nutrition>Corrosion (lower)>Appetite
>>2384591>>2384594I'm with you guys.
>>2384552These are quite good options.>Decay>Nutrition>Stability.>Quickness, because we're literally slow as molasses right now.For a new Subsistence ability, how about:Symbiosis: The ability to embed useful non-slime matter into ourself and benefit from it. Like algae for a small amount of nutrition or magic crystals and shit as a magic battery for way later.
>>2384596I am mistaken>>2384601Has better reasoning and ideas.
>>2384552>all them choiceswe need to eat more poeple - a LOT more people.
>>2384614As long as they are criminals.
>>2384552as for choices...>Self Image - slime girl, duh>Nutrition - better evolution get>Quickness - we need the speed>Stability - this will be handy, trust me
>>2384601That's a pretty clever idea yeah, I'll consider it. The idea is that players can put forth multiple ideas and vote on the one they like the best. But if no one does then yeah that can be one for sure.>>2384591>>2384594>>2384596>>2384601>>2384630So of the lot, a tally of choice;Nutrition = 5Self-Image = 4Corrosion = 3Appetite = 3 Though just to clarify, if I understand correctly, I think you want your corrosion to be at a neutral level? To do so would need it upgraded twice. If you want to do that, you'll just not get appetite. Or you can settle for only once, and it will be irritating and harmful overtime (though not nearly like it is now, but also not inert). But either way Nutrition and Self-Image look like they're definitely chosen, so;>Nutrition: Of your chosen food type (organic, animal), you get more out of it.>Self-Image (4): You now can appear even more human, and definitely feminine (if you wish), and now from the knees up.So it's just a matter of Corrosion twice if you want inert, or two for it and Appetite.
>>2384649>tallyare you sure about these numbers?this anon >>2384611 changed his vote
>>2384653Indeed I did.The embedding on inorganic materials to increase our strength was a good idea.
>>2384649Just to check, we can set our corrosion strength to any we've unlocked? I don't want the blue slime suddenly chest bursting out of us.Corrosion once for now. The time taken to eat stuff Is going to bite us sooner or later.
>>2384664Have we been feeding the blue slime so it won't die?
>>2384653>>2384659Oh I didn't notice that. So the new tally;Nutrition = 5Self-Image = 3Quickness = 3Stability = 3>>2384664No you can't change it, same with your consistency. It's not like you could never change it, but that's something you'd need to learn after. And good catch with blue slime, yes, changing your corrosiveness will no longer put you at odds.
>>2384672So with these, and the earlier improvements, the final breakdown for what you chose is;>Nutrition>Self-Image (4)>Quickness>Stability (2)>Viscosity >Digestion
>>2384672Hang on how will we eat anything if we're neutrally corrosive? I think we might need to hold off on it until we unlock an upgrade that lets us vary it.I like the others in the tally but grab Glutton instead of Corrosion - I'm curious how it differs from Nutrition.
>>2384685And now we need to find more stuff to eat. Maybe track that last bandit into her hideout? Or go loot the camp first? OR maby we can wait until the dark and go into some random village, snek into houses and suffocate people inside. After we are done with whole willage, we eat them all.
>>2384694>Hang on how will we eat anything if we're neutrally corrosive?Shh don't think too hard on it. Let's say you don't eat things by process of corrosion but absorption/leeching, and the corrosion is just a natural and added benefit. For the purpose of eating though it wouldn't hinder you at all, only ingesting a lot of water would do that. For glutton, it wouldn't have enough support compared to the other choices.>>2384696Killing random innocents in a village? That doesn't seem like you... unless you were like super hungry!>>2384696So the last remaining bandit runs off crying and swearing revenge for her comrades, while you sit to digest and think over a hearty breakfast! You are practically swelling with mass and are now the dimensions of a small car. In the process though, memories and recollection come to you, about who you were and are. More personal albeit mundane memories of yourself, things like grooming and hygiene, washing in a tub or getting dressed, which helps to remind you of what you were like. You still don't have a perfect mental image of yourself, no memory of looking in a mirror, but you can definitely recall more now of what being human and having a human body was like. Thus, whereas you were just a nightmarish abomination before imitating humanity, now you are quite soundly human in appearance even when observed at a distance. You can even better define your form now to where you can raise up to about knee height out of your slimy mass while still maintaining a human form. It's not where you'd like to be, but it could well help for interacting with people, along with your voice.Furthermore you also realize some other physical improvements to yourself, like the ability to get more out of what you eat, a greater stability and viscosity, and quicker movement even without the aid of ingesting water. Now rather than shlorping along at the pace of trickling molasses, you can move at a slow walk as your slimy mass churns along across the ground.>How do you proceed?
>>2384721Let's bury the bones and burrow under the soil here. We can wait a few hours and see if the bandit comes back.
>>2384721arent we always super hungry?also we need more quickness... lets go hunting one more time, perhaps follow the bandit? waiting here may take a while and she may come back with properly equipped friends. better lay trap somewhere else or just eat her in her hideout
>>2384721Oh and one very important qustion about bandit - what exactly she saw while fighting us? Mindless blob of slime just eating her friends or the real us?
>>2384721We don't corrode/dissolve clothing and weapons, right? What if we filled ourselves with the bandits' weapons? Picture it, a bandit thinks he's facing a regular slime, and suddenly gets a knife lodged in his throat.
>>2384845Or we can stab them when they are already engulfed, so they will stop struggling.
>>2384853Good thinking. I can't help but picture bandits attacking a slime, which then opens up to reveal dozens of steel teeth of various lengths and shapes. Kind of like the Maw.
Hey sorry, had to duck out just for a bit but I'm back now ready to go.
>>2384853we'd need tidal movement though.
>>2384735You're always hungry, though really that hunger is what the sensation to you, is the diminishing of your mass. Essentially you're always losing slime, as all slimes do, and that's represented as hunger. When you eat, more slime is made, sort of like sating the hunger. For awhile. If you lose too much mass though the hunger may build and your good and logical human sense may give way to slime instinct.>>2384764That's your choice, you have the ability for either option. I would assume though that when you surged up and slimed them all, you didn't bother to actually reform a portion of you to be human appearance. So likely just a blob, you didn't even try communicating with her.>>2384845Nope, you only corrode and break down organic, animal substances. So I guess in a sense it isn't even "true" corrosiveness because you don't pit metals for example. Filling yourself with weapons is one option, and if you got the Tidal Movement improvement you could do something like, trap someone within you and then move weapons around inside yourself to stab them. However that's a possibility, not something you can do currently. It's a good idea though.>>2384735>>2384729You decide to wait then for the time being in case the bandit girl comes back. First you bury the skeletons and chuck the equipment on a pile, then find the other skeletons in the woods and do the same. You can wait till afternoon though, by which time you're starting to get "hungry" again, and still nothing. Either she fled entirely, or she's not planning on returning till she's prepared.Do you want to try hunting then? The likelihood of finding criminals and such is very low. These bandits were basically the local rough types in this area you're in, so it's not like you'll stumble across another camp.
I think we should go hunting and feed blue, if it ate us and turned us into an intelligent slime it is probably an intelligent slime itself. Also id suggest we get get the ability to change color, incase that bandit goes around talking about a pink slime.
>>2384996I think we should assume we're not going to run into any bad dudes for a while so lets try our hand at hunting. We need to be able to sustain our mass by ourselves.
>>2385016>>2385010For hunting then, make a roll! Who knows what you may find. Also an append to the Traits category, one I promised early in the thread and should have included;>Structural Support: With the use of solid objects, you can store within yourself and use to lend strength and stability to your form, or create more complicated shapes.
Rolled 14 (1d100)>>2385024
Rolled 13 (1d100)>>2385024We need this and to carve some stilts post haste! Also, hunt roll.
Rolled 2 (1d100)>>2385024
>>2385024
>>2385052Why doesn't this work for me?
>>2385057place "dice+1d100" in the options field with out quotes.
Rolled 39 (1d100)>>2385060
Rolled 3 (1d100)>>2385060Thanks, it kept on automatically capitalizing
>>2385073>>2385084>>2385052>>2385050>>2385039>39Hmm, no luck unfortunately. You're too big, and too slow, to be able to ambush or catch any animals. The best you can do is scaring off a wolf from a half-eaten deer carcass. At least you tried though, and got a better hang of the area. You even "trespass" through an enchanted glade which draws the ire of an elven guardian, but he doesn't take action against you as long as you leave.
>>2385089Apologize to guardian. And go back to abandoned house.
Rolled 40 (1d100)>>2385089Lets not fuck with the elves yet and try hunting again
>>2385096>>2385093You don't consecutive attempts at the same thing in a row. At least not like this, succeed OR fail. You can return home though, weeping big fat slimy tears at your failure, but your spirits are improved and you quickly wipe your slime face at the sight of Carter waiting. And he's got a goat for you to have as well."There you are! I was worried you'd run away, I waited here all morni- wow... you're getting big!"The daily visit, as he rode over from the academy most likely and come to see how you're doing. He's happy to be able to spend time with you of course and it's nice to be able to socialize, as well as the chance to ask him for any help if you need it? Either with getting anything, or any plans you may need another for. He says along with Garret, they've been looking among the staff for anyone trustworthy and he thinks he's gotten a few. They'll spend more time to make double sure though, of course.
>>2385141>wow... you're getting big!Ouch>Thanks for the goat.
>>2385141Uhhhh, this is probably going to be a sometimes thing. We ran into some bandits and we seem to grow and shrink really fast. Save the goat for later.Strike a pose. Is Sadie looking more like like herself?
>>2385154>>2385145You strike a pose for him when he remarks on your size."Oh hey, you're looking pretty good! M-More like yourself, I-I mean! I guess you really are getting better with time, maybe we won't even need anyone at the academy!"He goes to take your hand, recoiling after the burning becomes too much but he still enjoys the chance almost as much as you do. When you get to talking about how you've been and the bandits, he's proud of you and hopes you gave them a tough time. Cleaning up the area of miscreants, already you're back on your feet and doing good for yourself and the world proper. If you come across any other bandits or rough types, he hopes to be there to help out next time!In general it's very pleasant to have Carter around, in particular because how he treats you no different than before, like nothing's wrong. It at least helps you feel more like yourself, if not brushing the problem aside and out of mind. But anything is better than ending up alone and with no one left in your life, your humanity leaking away and turning into some feral slime monster. You're not back at the academy with friends having a laugh over lunch, but it's a start, and Carter enables it.Of course he'll stay as long as you please, but if you've got things to do he won't keep you either, should you wish. For now at least you can toss the goat aside for later.
>>2385188Let's just chat a bit. Are things getting back to normal at the academy? How's he holding up?
>>2385229Any news about how our family has taken our death?
>>2385229You can spend the rest of the afternoon together, sharing a nice time. Among other things, you ask how things are going back at school. Apparently the building itself is repaired and restored, people back to studies and classes again. There is still a negotiation and hostage situation ongoing however, with the orcs, but he expects it to be resolved within the week. Assuming that is, the princess takes her leave of the school. You also ask him how he's doing. He's always been tough, and though he admits it's been hard especially when he thought you were dead, he's been getting by and cares much more about how you're doing. If you're doing well and he can take care of you, then that's all he needs to get him through this. >>2385231You had thought to ask that they make sure that news doesn't get out. Carter himself spoke with the arch mage on the matter, whom was fine to let him be the one to deliver the news being that the two of you were in a relationship (and because of all the commotion with the orcs). However because you're still alive he doesn't intend to send anything unless you want him to.
>>2385245AhOkayMaybe after we can get ourself situated well enough, we can return.
>>2385245With those teachers he was speaking with, maybe offer to return the blue slime and give a sample of your own slime.
>>2385263HmmSeconding.
>>2385263Well he'd rather not do that but if you want it, he will. Otherwise, anything else you want of him? Or let him go for now, you've got slimy things to see to.
>>2385272No need to rush but if a teacher seems trustworthy, that'd sweeten the pot. It'd be good to come back. Let it play out for a few days first I guess. It's getting into the afternoon, he should probably head back. We can go with him most of the way and then try our luck with night time foraging.
>>2385283It could work, you know by now that slimes are pretty rare, at least up here and around these parts. In any case it's something to offer, as you think it over in accompanying Carter back most of the way to the academy, his compliments about your increased speed. Before you go he wants a hug and a kiss goodbye, not a care to his own wellbeing. At least you're more stable now that he doesn't have as much a hard time getting the slime off after, and you also have more like proper arms and lips of your own to use now, slimy as they may be.And so he trots off on his horse, leaving you alone again. It's late afternoon then by now, as you dwell under a tree for a bit, to watch a wagon travel along one of the nearby roads, some lady drawing water from a creek, and a couple orc foragers from their nearby camp traipsing about.>How do you proceed?
Rolled 42 (1d100)>>2385289Follow the orcs to the camp, taking them out 1 by 1.
>>2385289I'm starting to feel a little bad about the orcs we killed but they did attack the academy. Hang out near the lady - make sure the orcs don't hassle her.
Rolled 97 (1d100)>>2385311Eh, they'd have killed or captured you if they had the chance probably. You recall seeing at least a classmate or two being carted off by them, aside of the ones killed.
>>2385316Alright, harass orcs then.
>>2385316>97Oh dear! It seems that the orcs notice the woman by the stream, but they don't seem to care much. Out foraging, they're some orc ladies themselves so eventually they meander over to the water. The woman regards them cautiously but they're also just there to get water for the camp. During the time they share a comment or two, have a laugh, and make a trade. Some apples from the human for a rabbit from the orcs. In your forethought to possibly protect the human though, your lurking nearby gets noticed. First by the human who regards you with curiosity, since she can't make out your full mass and tries asking who's there when she sees movement in the grasses. Then after prodding part of you with a stick, wondering aloud to herself what the heck you are, the orcs take notice and approach. They're more cautious but still can't tell exactly what the heck you are. You could retreat but that's going to obviously indicate that you're some sort of creature rather than a slimy pink mass among the reeds.
>>2385329Turn up viscosity and ooze a little where you got poked. Nothing to see here folks, just some weird slimy river mud.
>>2385342You mean turn down? You can't change it though once you've taken it. At least not yet.
>>2385348Oops, yeah I basically mean be a little oozier.
>>2385289>Before you go he wants a hug and a kiss goodbyeAww once we get control over our digestion and master that tidal control we should invite him to go 'swimming'.
>>2385422Maybe we should dig a hole to keep our blue slime friend in and turn corrosion down.
>>2385422ew gross what the fuckAnyway so are you just playing dead basically to the women?
>>2385440Look people love swimming pools. Also yes, play dead.
>>2385490Swimming in slime? And fairly thick, viscous slime at that. But you continue to play dead. Eventually curiosity subsides, however one of the orcs scoops some of you into a bucket and leaves with it. You hear some slight panic about it moving and burning, but a glimpse as they depart and you can see she just smacks it down in the bucket and swings it around if the slime gets too active. In that, you're eventually left with just the human woman continuing to draw water and wash some laundry. But at least you avoided a fight, or scaring anyone.>How do you proceed?
>>2385440>ew gross what the fuckIt's clear our protagonist and her beua still have affection towards each other and desire physical intimacy. I'm just trying to come up with solutions given what we have to work with. Also future development idea: could we do something like actual single cell predators and concentrate all our digestive enzymes in vacuoles so we can control what we do and don't digest. Maybe even throw them in a fight. On a more direct note yeah just play dead.
>>2385542>desire physical intimacy. With a slime? Um excuse me friendo but who would want to do anything like that with a girl (or guy for that matter) made of slime?>future development ideaWhat are these... single cells you speak of? Creating organs within yourself seems like it could be possible though. However if I'm not mistaken, there's already an ability listed in traits which would allow you to control what you do or don't digest.
>>2385541Curses! Our chance to obtain a bucket lost! But yeah just wait for her to leave. Practice wiggling small parts of your slime out of sight and see if you can burrow a slime tendril down into the soil and suck up groundwater as things to do while you wait.
>>2385559Well at least here by the riverbed, the ground is saturated with water enough that you can do that, kind of just shoving some of you into the sand and absorbing what there is.But yes, eventually the woman leaves and you're free to move and act without worry of being seen or causing trouble. Sunset will be in an hour or so, night coming so something to keep in mind.
>>2385548Aww dude slime girls are the best variety of monster girl, can be any form you wish, can make all kinds of fun shapes around your dong, you can float in em and she can massage every millimeter of your body in pleasure.
>>2385563I guess it's time to check out the orc camp. We might have to rescue our poor, sweet, innocent slime child!Or capitalise on the chaos of its escape attempt.
>>2385564And dissolve you.>>2385570Want to follow after those orcs? That shouldn't be too hard, the only problem is your slow pace. Make a roll to track them across the grasses and hills.
Rolled 14 (1d100)>>2385576Rolling rolling rolling
>>2385548>What are these... single cells you speak of?Things like white blood cells and amoebas. It's not a proper organ more like a balloon within a balloon that is sort of mashed against anything the cell has engulfed and wants digested.
Rolled 34 (1d100)>>2385576
Rolled 31 (1d100)>>2385576That's the best part!
>>2385576>And dissolve youHence why we need to get control of our digestion so we can you know not. And our internal currents so we can at least make it nice for him. you've stumbled into one of my magical realms BTW if you want me to stop I'll stop just ask and I'll stop posting lewd ideas in your quest.
>>2385587Honestly something that lets us use any level of consistency/viscosity/corrosion/colour that we've unlocked would be really nice. Mutable chemistry? It would allow so many shapechanging antics.
>>2385581What in the name of the gods is a white blood cells or an amoebas?>>2385582>34Eh, pretty poor effort and you can only track them so far. However the camp itself ends up being easy to find by the smoke from it, the various fires within. You can't approach too close because they set themselves up nicely atop a hill, but after an hour of observation or so, you can see about twenty orcs. The camp is very obviously just a temporary measure, only some spiked wooden walls around the outside and then a bunch of tents and huts set up.The particular concern though, you notice a couple of captive academy students. You're not sure how many but you only see two so there's probably more. No telling what these savage orcs have planned for them, if a hostage exchange isn't successful. A difficult situation for sure, particularly since the orcs have their act together, so there are things like posted guards and small patrols. Not to mention some captive hyenas who may not be as much a threat to you, but could serve as an early warning to the greenies.>How do you proceed?>>2385587As long as the quest doesn't devolve into it, it shouldn't be a problem. I could never turn away a willing player!
>>2385607We should back off for now and go explore some more
>>2385607We could just settle down in a good spot and watch the camp. Get an idea of what's where. Maybe a patrol will stumble into us too.
>>2385607See if we can find the orc ladies/our lost slime and use that to get closer to the camp.Point at it and gesture that you want it back and maybe they will lower their guard enough around to to let us roam.
>>2385607>What in the name of the gods is a white blood cells or an amoebas?Really? Well here's the structure I was suggesting we form: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VacuoleWhit blood cell: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_blood_cellAmoeba: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amoeba
>>2385631Maybe I wasn't being clear,>Medieval Fantasy>>2385621>>2385619You want to try diplomacy with them? Or just lie in wait? There's the option to leave but the slight majority seems in favor of testing things out.
>>2385631Dude hes roleplaying, a slime wouldn't know shit about that stuff.
Rolled 14 (1d100)>>2385607Just scout for now we don't want to make them suspicious or think they're under attack and hurt the hostages.
>>2385635Id like to try, we can speak but not form a body and just say we were sleeping and would like that bit of ourselves back, if they ask how we know we can just say we have a rough feeling of where it is do to it being "us"
>>2385635>>2385637Ah sorry I thought I was talking to the GM not the character.
>>2385638>>2385640Conflicting actions!
>>2385654Ill support >>2385638 then
>>2385640this firstthen the night comes and we are predator again (we really need that color change and subsequent cloak thing. it will greatly help with setting traps or just simple sitting in the open and looking around)
>>2385665Any more rolls or you're good with that 14?
Rolled 40 (1d100)>>2385749
Rolled 28 (1d100)>>2385749Oh we're rolling? Time to ruin everything.
Rolled 64 (1d100)>>2385749
Rolled 55 (1d100)
>>2385768>64You can scout out the place for awhile, into the night. You don't find out anything new but you also don't get caught. Well, you could probably slide through the walls, but that's not really new.At least it's night though, so less chance to get caught.
>>2385782are there guards making rounds around the perimeter? if yes, lets lay in their way, let them step into us, and then go fo quick surpise killor just wait for orcs to go to sleep and then slowly and snekily trickle into vamp and suffocate them one by one in their sleep.
>>2385787>trickle into vampoh god...
>>2385787Again we can't get them all and if any go missing they may hurt the hostages
>>2385787They stopped the patrols at night but they still have watch guards. However if you're careful and manage right, you can sneak in without being seen by them. Once inside the camp though that's a different story. You'll have to roll twice, once for the sneaking in, once for going about the camp.Though inside, you'll definitely have a better shot of things. As I understand it, you're looking for sleeping ones to kill? Though you'll have to be pretty lucky, to digest them in half an hour each without being disturbed or caught.
>>2385800I think we should just find our lost slime and get out. They probably have it in one of the huts and if they're built like the walls we can probably sneak around the back and pop a piece of ourselves through a crack to check the inside. The huts probably just have a fire going inside so they wouldn't be super well lit, I think it should be fairly safe to do it.
>>2385800No, idea is to kill as many as we can as fast as possible, eat them only after place is safe. Also, geek the mage first. (basially we assassin).>basic ountline of the plan- wait until orcs go to sleep (give it few hours if needed)- turn into long and thin puddle and snek into the camp, reform somewhere in shadow/tent/building where we are covered. still try to maintain puddle shape or just hug walls, go up the tree...- trickle around camp or tents using same tactic- then either explore or kill, but I say if we get an opportunity, we should clean this trash. glomping sleeping person and suffocating it should be fast and silent, especially if we just engulf him/her and elave no room to trash
>>2385810Ah so you want to just kill them and then maybe later eat them, ok.>>2385805Or this? Just get in and out?
>>2385810Actually this could work, let's go ham.
>>2385810I dont really think its a good idea to go for all the orcs because even if we can get them all its going to attract way to much negative attention
>>2385810also I want to point out, if something go awry, we should probably drop everything and run / lure enemies into prepared trap place and then kill them. so we need to prepare that fallback plan too.>>2385822nobody really cares about orcs.and if it stirrs trouble for academy, well.. fuck them. we died and become slime because of their stupidity
>>2385824damn, send this to soon...It is also worth to point out if we succed with killing, we can save all the caught people - this makes us hero.
>>2385824Seriously considering that there is an entire tribe full of orcs which includes shamans and the fact that killing so many might make the academy interested its not a good idea
>>2385829Hmm... Perhaps you are right. So go into the woods and try to grab more bandits?
>>2385833lol what more bandits in the woods? You ate them.
>>2385834what do you mean we ate them (all)? whan kind of place is this, with only one small band of miscreants?
>>2385813I think we shouldn't poke the hornets nest just yet. If we do do anything a quick in and out to retrieve our slime is it.
>>2385841Sure back to the cautious plan. I'd forgotten this was just a raiding party basically.
>>2385837I meant in the immediate area you were residing in, around the burned out house. If you're going roaming far and wide for bandits that's different, but also will requite distance from the academy.>>2385841>>2385843So, you're only sneaking in to get your slime back, avoiding any trouble or conflict, and then sneaking back out? Sounds simple enough, make a roll!
Rolled 64 (1d100)>>2385853
Rolled 64 (1d100)>>2385853I am the night
>>2385853Also it's my last post for now but when I return I'll go by the rolls and we'll see how things go for your night infiltration mission.
Rolled 11 (1d100)>>2385853
Rolled 97 (1d100)>>2385853
>>2385868shame we are not eating them...
Rolled 65 (1d100)>>2385853*mission impossible theme*
>>2385868we solid snake now(more like liquid snake i guess)
Can't we also save the students?
>>2385915That was my initial intention (kill orcs and save students) but other anons are afraid of the rest of the orcs hunting us and wizards taking unhealthy interest in us after our succes/failure.
>>2385919It was pretty tempting but we have basically no escape options seeing our top speed is slow walk. If we can level up appetite and quickness we'll have a lot more flexibility to come back and tackle the camp.
>>2385934I mean, we could probably take some post guards unnoticed.
>>2386010problem is that we'd leave behind very distinct wet skeletons, which could ruin our chances with the academy if the orcs accuse them of attacking their camp to break out the hostages
>>2386044we can take skeletons with us and just dump them somewhere later....
I have an idea to rescue the hostages, trough probably not now.First, let's search for a route for them to escape, since we are already slowed down enough with our base speed.Secondly, we get spare humans skeletons, probably from the bandits, if they are the same size as the students, better. Then we have the skeletons dressed as the students before leaving. If we come later, we can ask our boyfriend for a spare of clothes. If not, then maybe we can give them the bandit clothes later, but I suppose that they will have to go naked (and no, I am not joking.)We will probably have to eat some orcs so that they don't think we just came for the students.
>>2386158Just realized we don't have skeletons now, we will have to do it later, it seems.
My science... has awoken....We should REALLY get the slimetalk skill soon. We Need to learn.... Question is, what makes us remember? What evolves us? The brain, or the whole Body? If we were to feed brain to blue, would they become more sentient? All that stuff.Agreed? Agreed. Let's do science.Oh and also become like... 20 feet tall.
Back again now. Pretty hectic schedule here today/tomorrow so sorry for the late start and possibly early end. Things clear up tomorrow though. Also the thread is in auto sage so we'll probably keep going till like Friday or so, and then I'll make the next thread if people like. But anyway resuming now.
>>2385868>>2385853>97So with the goal to avoid whatever conflict you can, you wait till later in the night and after watching where the camp is most secure from. Then, you sneak up to the wall and slide through, squishing between the big wooden spikes. The camp inside is decently spacious so it's not like you're sliming over people to get anywhere, but neither can you just glorp around out in the open. Especially with watch hyenas about. However in a masterful display and immense caution and patience, you sneak your way through the camp making use of shadows, cover, and distractions to eventually locate and reobtain your missing slime mass. It was stored in a bucket and it's easy enough for you to tip that over and then engulf the separate portion. Now, the time to sneak back out yes? Unless you had any other movies in mind... something to make note of though;>There appear to be three orcish magic users in this group; one shaman, one healer, and a designated sorcerer>Some of your fellow students... well, it seems to you that they might not be so keen on leaving now. A few appear quite content with their potential new lives, either as forced (but happy) spouses to orcs, or as some enslaved duty they're made to perform. Not all of them, but you doubt the orcs honestly intend to trade all of them back in a hostage exchange, nor would they kill all of them if things went awry.
>>2387381Sneak back out, wait until some of them leave the camp to ambush them.
>>2387415You can sneak out again as easily as you came, creeping across the stamped grasses and upturned dirt, sliding through the wall and making it outside. Making some distance from the camp for safety, you can wait for anyone to leave but it's not till morning that some group of four leave with two of their hyenas. Probably a scouting party, or hunting. You can try to ambush them but with those beasts it will be very hard, but a roll is possible.
>>2387453Atract the hyenas, draw them away from the group and eat them.
>>2387462Make a roll for the attempt.
Rolled 79 (1d100)>>2387474I'm good with animals
Rolled 84 (1d100)>>2387474
>>2387486>>2387478>84So moving around and making noises and other distracting displays, you manage to lure away the hyenas, and even catch them to eat. However the orc group follow after and now more or less are surrounding you and because of the deaths of their beasts, are quite hostile. With torches and weapons raised, they cautiously keep their distance but press and probe to see how they can attack you.
>>2387500Pretend to be afraid of the torches then when they try to surround you and pen you in, go for the multi-glomp.
>>2387507It's not going to be possible, without some extreme luck. You're still digesting the hyenas and you move so slowly, but more importantly these orcs are now aware of you and being careful. They're not dumb enough to just trip and fall into you and even if they did, others can fight and get them out.
>>2387520Aren't we still the size of a small car? I'm sure we can fit some dogs in the boot. Anyway the idea is we only flinch from the torches if they get within about a foot of our body, that'll encourage the orcs to get in close if they want to herd us anywhere.
