You feel a pressure on your chest and a coldness on your back. You open your eyes and see brown hair dangling in front of you.

You try to heave what’s on your chest away but find you cannot move any of your limbs. Your breathing increases in intensity and you begin to feel fear.

With a laugh the hair in front of your eyes is flung back, no longer occluding your vision. You see the human scientist from before kneeling on your prone form, her hair falling behind her as she laughs looking upwards. A sterile white light covers the metal walls which surround you

She looks down at you and stops laughing, moving up and down with your agitated breaths as she speaks with the voice of the translation software.

“You’re breathing so hard. I imagine you are afraid. ‘Where has my strength gone?!’” she mocks.

She traces a finger alongside your arm and smiles. “Don’t worry, it will return. And when it does, you will know just how to use it.”

She raises her hands, in each a mass of sharp metal and crackling electronics, and thrusts them into your face, pressing her thumbs into your eyes. A sparkling blue light consumes your vision before you wake.

You rise swiftly to push her away, but there is nothing.

You lean back on your arms as you breathe quickened breaths and realize it was just a dream.

You rise from your bunk and put on your gear before heading to the cockpit.

You hear Storm-Grasp talking as you approach but the conversation dies down by the time you slide the cockpit door open.

“How close are we?” you ask.

“Nearly there. I was just talking to the portmaster to get permission to dock. We’ll dock shortly.” he responds and continues to speak. “I’ve finished my report, but there is one missing piece. We still haven’t extracted any data from Life-Queller’s mask. I need you to head down to the Archive and hand it off to the Head Archivist before I meet the Matriarch.”

“Understood,” you say. “Will I be attending the meeting?”

He seems to think a bit before talking. “Most avoid her when they can, since she is easily displeased, but if you want to, why not?”

You wonder if you should meet with the Matriarch along with Storm-Grasp or just let him handle it.

Alright, A.

“I’ll go,” you say.

“Alright, just remember, how you conduct yourself will reflect on me. Be respectful,” your commander replies.

“Landing bay five is ready for your ship,” you hear from the cockpit speakers.

“Acknowledged. Bringing her in,” Storm-Grasp replies.

Storm-Grasp flies his ship towards the same docking bay it was in before. The giant metal shutter opens to allow the Fire-Seer in and closes behind it as you park and the bay begins to pressurize.

“Pressurization complete,” a computerized voice says.

“That’s your cue,” says Storm-Grasp. “Take the mask to the Head Archivist. Try not to break it on the way down… I’m going to go enjoy a real meal now that I’m back on planet. Be at the clan palace before noon.”

“Right.”

You leave him as he begins to disable his ship completely, stopping to grab Life-Queller’s mask and putting it inside a sealed metal container nearby before leaving the ship.

You head out of the ship and into the station, towards the public shuttle which travels towards the city intermittently.

You take the shuttle, land, and make your way to the Archives.

It is a familiar sight. You went here often to learn more about your mentor’s lessons from the information computers within.

You enter the lobby of the Archives and see a female look up towards you.

“I need to see the Head Archivist,” you say.

“What for?” she replies.

“I need her to recover information from a damaged mask. It’s important, for the Matriarch. Storm-Grasp sent me.” you reply.

“Fine,” she says, giving you the location to the Head Archivist’s office.

You head to the office and knock on the door.

“Come in!” you hear.

You open the door and enter to see the Head Archivist sitting behind her table. She speaks when you enter.

“My secretary has already told me what you’re here for. Let me see the mask.”

You open the container and carefully hand her the mask. She examines it and speaks.

“The data chip is nearly ruined. This’ll take a whole day to fix,” she says, sighing. “Come by tomorrow to see if I have anything for you.”

You nod and thank her.

As you leave the Archives you notice from your wrist computer that you still have some time before noon and wonder if you should go somewhere else.

Alright, C.

You head towards the clan palace at the center of Stone-Hawk city. It is a long walk, but you are happy to stretch your legs after being stuck in the small ship for a week.

You finally arrive at the clan palace. You walk down the pathway which leads right towards the main entrance. It is grander than even the ritual hall where you became a hunter, much of the building covered with intricate carvings.

Two heavily armed yautja holding combi-sticks stand guard outside of the main doors. When you approach the one on the right shouts at you to halt. “What’s your business here?” he asks, leveling his combi-stick.

“I’m here to meet with the Matriarch with my commander Storm-Grasp,” you reply.

“Oh, it’s you. Storm-Grasp is already inside. You can head in,” the guard responds, lowering his weapon.

You head inside and walk through the main hall, the most extravagant you’ve seen in your life. The polished, marble floor is covered by a fine carpet, itself flanked by statues of great warriors and former matriarchs, above which are preserved trophies, adorning the walls.

At the end of the carpet there are two large doors, guarded by two yautja just like the ones outside, along with stone seats and a stairway. On one of the seats you see Storm-Grasp sitting, looking at his wrist computer.

“I’ve handed it off,” you say as you approach him. The guards remain stoically silent.

He looks up at you. “Good. You’re early, which means you’re right on time. Someone is being chided in the meeting hall. Should be over soon, then the Matriarch will meet with us. Also, take your mask off! You want the Matriarch to remember your face, don’t you?”

“Alright,” you say, taking your mask off as you sit on the stone seat opposite him.

After some time, the double doors open. Two yautja drag a third by the ends of a wooden staff. You see many bruises on the limp, nearly naked yautja. His arms and shoulders are tied to the staff by tight rope.

The two which drag him head towards the exit. You see a large female wearing an ornate headdress and a robe exit the meeting room, clicking in amusement as she looks at the bruised yautja being dragged away.

Storm-Grasp stands and bows his head before the Matriarch, and you do likewise.

She looks at him. “I’m ready to see you. I see you’ve brought company.”

“Yes, honorable Matriarch. This is the hunter you assigned to me. He served me well enough,” Storm-Grasp responds.

“Alright,” she says, examining you, then looking back at Storm-Grasp. “Both of you, come inside and tell me what you discovered.”

She leads you into the meeting hall and beckons for you to sit near a table facing a central dais on which is a throne, in which she sits.
>>
>>2376175
She begins questioning both of you.

Storm-Grasp describes how you both approached the moon from space and discovered a crater likely caused by atomics which devastated the lab’s defenses. He then describes how you landed near the center of the lab and searched on foot, finding a way inside and signs of combat between yautja and humans.

“Is this where you found Life-Queller?” she asks.

“No,” Storm-Grasp responds, “I doubt that initial conflict involved Life-Queller, just White-Rein’s band and the humans.”

”And are you sure that it was White-Rein’s band?”

>A. Let Storm-Grasp answer the question.
>B. Answer the question. You are sure because you found security records in command which showed a sigil, a white hand holding reins, marked on the masks of each of the attackers. It fits with his name too much to be a mere coincidence.

You decide to let Storm-Grasp answer the question.

“Yes. We found records from a security camera in the human command center using a then-functional computer. All the yautja we saw had a sigil painted on their masks: a white hand holding reins. I have no doubt it is his sigil.”

The Matriarch seems to grow more serious. “That does sound like him. How many did you see? How where they equipped?”

“We saw at least ten, all wearing heavy armor, airtight models fit for use in a vacuum. Plasma-casters and all the typical melee weapons were there as well. Also, from some of the wounds on the human bodies, or what was left of them, and the large hole in the wall where we made our entrance into the building, I’d bet at least one had a plasma cannon,” Storm-Grasp says.

“That’s some heavy equipment. Continue,” the Matriarch says.

“From the video it was obvious that they were in the Research section of the facility, where the scientists work. We even saw one of the raiders infest a human, but found no sign of hardmeat during our search” replies Storm-Grasp.

“So they’ve managed to get their hands on even that,” she says. “How long ago did this happen?”

Storm-Grasp looks towards you. You see it is your cue.

“Two months and one week ago from now, Matriarch,” you say.

“I don’t even want to imagine what they’ve been doing in that time. Continue, Storm-Grasp.”

Storm-Grasp describes your arrival to the nexus in Research and Development, where you found the wounded badblood corpse with some kind of technology embedded into its skull.

“The humans, they were researching some kind of mind control technology. White-Rein must have tested it on his own warriors, that honorless scum!” Storm-Grasp yells.

“Are you telling me White-Rein has this technology?” the Matriarch says.

“There’s no doubt. Ebon-Fang here found a video in one of the scientist’s rooms. White-Rein’s band captured one of the chief scientists at the facility.”

“This is concerning,” she replies. “What of Life-Queller?”

“Well, we were interrupted when my ship’s intermittent scans detected something in high orbit. I was forced to return to my ship to see what it was. Ebon-Fang is the one who found where Life-Queller met his end.”

“Met his end?” she asks and turns to you. “Tell me what you found.”

You describe your search, starting at the scorch-marked hallway leading towards telecommunications. You recount how you found his mask under a large metal door imbedded in a wall, and the enormous scorch-mark inside the actual telecommunications room which vaporized most of the equipment nearby.
>>
>>2376561
“It must have been his honor device,” you state.

“His mask! Where is it?” she demands.

“When I found it, it was damaged by a wrist-blade. It is at the Stone-Hawk Archives currently. The Head Archivist there is working to salvage what visual data she can. She said tomorrow she might have something.”

“Life-Queller was one of my most trusted hunters,” she says, and then looks at you in the eyes. “We will have the data tomorrow, but before then, I want to know, what do you think happened?”

You think a bit, and then respond.

>A. Life-Queller was probably killed by the black prey which White-Rein’s band left behind.
>B. Life-Queller was probably killed by White-Rein’s band, which was lying in wait to ambush whoever came to investigate.

>C. Life-Queller was probably killed by mind-controlled members of White-Rein’s band, left behind after being experimented on.
Life-Queller's mask was damaged by a wrist blade. The mind controlled member was unarmed. It's wounds were likely dealt with wrist blades, so there must have been a mix of normal members and mind controlled members.
>>
>2376611
Here's a description of the corpse.
>You reach a central area and you see a yautja corpse. Oddly, this one is entirely naked aside from its weapons, energy pack, and mask, one with the symbol of a white hand. You see many wounds on its body, likely dealt with wrist-blades.
I didn't mention which weapons, but it had a plasma caster and wrist-blades. Storm-Grasp took the plasma caster and destroyed the energy pack.

Stuff like wrist-blades, primitive melee discs, don't really count as advanced yautja technology. While you don't want that shit getting into the hands of humans it is not really a big deal if it does, unlike say a plasma caster or cloaking system getting into their hands.

“From the many scorch-marks which covered the walls near telecommunications, and the damage in his mask caused by a wrist-blade, we can conclude there was heavy fighting between him and other yautja, not just him and the black prey. White-Rein’s warriors must have done this, either those lying in wait for him purposefully, or those left behind with the foul technology in their skulls. The body we found did bear wounds like those from wrist-blades.” you say.

You think a bit and speak again. “Though, if they were lying in wait, I wonder how we managed to elude them when he did not. Why wo-“

”That’s enough,” the Matriarch interrupts. “Either way, White-Rein is responsible, and clan Stone-Hawk will have its revenge.”

She looks towards Storm-Grasp and questions him, gesturing towards you. “How was he? Still want to choose another warrior as your teammate?”

“He did well. He found out what happened to Life-Queller, after all. I’m fine with having him on my team.”

“Good, because I have another task for you, but before that, is there anything else?”

She looks as if she would accept an answer from either of you.

>A. Mention that with this new technology White-Rein is even more of a threat, able to force even the most honorable and strong-willed yautja he captures to serve him. All efforts should be focused on finding him and ending him.
>B. While White-Rein is indeed a threat, it was the humans who developed this technology, not his band. The humans and this ‘Weyland’ clan could grow to be as great a threat, if not greater. The clan should focus its efforts to be kept abreast with these humans dabbling beyond their means.

You mention your thoughts on White-Rein.

“I concur,” Storm-Grasp says. “We need to find him, quickly. Soon he will grow even bolder.”

“Your thoughts are noted,” the Matriarch says. “Another thing, what of the humans and the lab? Did they discover the black prey?”

“I wiped the lab off the map with atomics before the humans could even get a chance to land,” Storm-Grasp replies. “All trace of the black prey and the foul technology is gone. I’m not sure the humans even knew what happened."

“Good work,” the Matriarch says. “Now, about your next mission…”
>>
Alright I'm going to sleep. I'll resume tomorrow at an earlier time than today.

“From my sources I’ve learned that the son of a Thorn-Wolf clan council member has failed to return from his hunt as scheduled. This ‘Thunder-Spear’ should have returned four days ago. You might wonder why this is of interest to us,” she says and then continues, your eyes widening.

“The hunt was in the same sector you two just returned from, Sector Heron, right on the edge of the human empire, where I don’t doubt White-Rein lurks. This is the only lead I have,” the Matriarch says.

“Your mission is to head towards the hunting ground in the Tarragon-2 system and find the trail of this Thunder-Spear before the Thorn-Wolf clan. I don’t doubt they have already begun preparations. If he was indeed captured by White-Rein, it is better that our clan is the first to question him. If Thunder-Spear turns out to be under the control of White-Rein, he could wreak havoc if found by his trusting brethren. If you find his trail, follow it where it leads, and bring him back, if you can.”

“It will be done, Matriarch,” Storm-Grasp says.

“Good. Visit the armory. I will order the quartermaster to give you some gear.”

The Matriarch does not seem to know he did not go alone. You wonder if you should tell the Matriarch what you know.

“I know this Thunder-Spear, Matriarch,” you say, causing her to look at you. You feel her and Storm-Grasp stare as you continue. “I spoke to him just a day before he left. He went on his hunt with three members of clan Stone-Hawk, two of them fellow students of my mentor’s. Their names are Frost-Mantle, Blood-Shadow, and Azure-Blade. If he is missing, they are as well.”

“Truly?” she asks. “Well, that makes finding him even more important. I doubt your mentor will be pleased to hear this. Tell him yourself and spare me the trouble.”

“We’ll get our clan-mates back,” Storm-Grasp says, pausing before speaking again. “I ask your permission to bring more warriors with me along for this mission. If it is just me and Ebon-Fang, there might not be much we can do.”

“Granted, so long as they are all warriors of our clan.” she says. “Now hurry up and get prepared. It’s better if you beat the Thorn-Wolfs there.”

You both stand and bow before leaving the Matriarch in the meeting hall to mull over her own thoughts. You head towards the exit of the clan palace.

“I think I deserve some thanks, Ebon-Fang,” Storm-Grasp says.

“For what?” you reply jokingly.

“For not mentioning that you nearly irreparably broke Life-Queller’s mask! You might have been dragged out of here like that other yautja if I had!” he responds.

“Oh, well, for that, you have my thanks,” you respond, causing him to chuckle.

“Feel free to ask your mentor if he knows any good warriors, preferably those with ships. I’m going to head down to the shipyards myself and see if any of my old friends are around.”

You nod as you both exit the palace. You head towards the smith, Sky-Forge.

After a long walk you reach the pathway which leads you up to his forge. You walk up the pathway and see the smith sleeping on his chair as before.

You cough loudly, and he wakes with a start, coughing himself. He looks at you with glazed over eyes. “Who are you!?” he asks loudly.

“It’s me, Ebon-Fang,” you say.

“I don’t know any Ebon-Fang. Go away!” he says.

“I met you two weeks ago. I gifted you one of my trophies and you promised me a sheathe. Don’t you remember?

He thinks for a moment and then his eyes seem to light up. “Ah, you’ve arrived for the sheathe. Just in time, I finished it not a day ago. Let me show you my handiwork.

He stands up from his chair and heads towards an old, nearly ruined wall near his forge, on which are hung different tools and weapons. He removes your sheath from the wall and approaches you, holding it with both hands, offering it up to you.

You take the grey, steel sheath and look at the gold inlay. He has masterfully carved the constellation of the hunter Or’len near the hilt. You notice the hilt is oddly thick, just like the sheathe near the base, having strange, cylindrical, tube-like protrusions, and raise your eyebrows.

“Notice something, have you? Let me show you,” he says, taking the sheathe before you can protest.

“Give me your sword, if you would,” he says.

You comply, curious what he will demonstrate. He takes your sword, appreciating it for a moment before sliding it into the sheath, seeming to lock it into place.

He presses something on the sheathe near the hilt and there is a violent hiss of escaping air from the strange tubes, glowing bright-blue just like a plasma bolt.

Your sword is expelled violently from the sheath, turning into a blur as metal rods push it out by the hilt. Sky-Forge nearly loses his grip of the sword but manages to hold on and return it to its sheath.

“Ha, look at that! Work's just like I planned. There’s a button on the side here, just have to raise this small latch to get to it. Super-heated plasma will give you a quicker and stronger draw than any in the empire!” he says, returning your sheathed sword.

You thank him profusely before leaving.

You wonder where to go next.

You head towards the dojo on foot.

After a long walk you finally arrive at the dojo. You hear the din of students dueling as you draw nearer. You think your mentor is probably watching from the balcony like before.

You take the rear path to the training grounds, and see students assembled just like they were the day you left yautja secunda.

Your mentor sees you as you approach, but none of the students take notice, or if they do, they do not show it, entirely focused on their duels. If Grey-Hand is here, he has improved.

You see your mentor look at you from the balcony. He gestures for you to join him.

You head towards the wooden steps, careful not to disrupt the dueling, and climb your way upwards.

“Returned from your mission, have you? How was it?” he says, still observing the duels.

“We found what we came for,” you say, pausing. “Perhaps I can tell you the details inside.”

“You’re right,” your mentor says. He whistles to get his students attention, and they look up at him. “Dueling is over. Run laps. I catch anyone slacking off when I return, they’re gonna go through a gauntlet.”

He turns and leads you into his house to the table where you two drank the leaf-brew before. The kettle seems to be kept constantly hot.

You both sit at the table and he pours both of you the tea.

“Alright, tell me what happened.”

You describe everything that happened since your arrival at the moon, from the time which you landed to the time which you left, leaving nothing out. He listens intently all throughout, not interrupting your account even once.

“So he died after all,” your mentor says before sipping his cup and speaking again. “And this technology, in the hands of White-Rein? This bodes ill. I hope the Matriarch has a plan.”

“I’ve already been assigned another mission,” you state. “You won’t like what I’m about to say.”

He looks at you intently as you speak again.

“Apparently, the son of a Thorn-Wolf clan council member has failed to return from his hunt in sector Heron, the same sector I just returned from. His name is Thunder-Spear. I’m not sure if Frost-Mantle or Blood-Shadow told you anything about their plans, but I met them all after my ascension ceremony along with another newly blooded hunter of our clan called Azure-Blade, and learned they were going together to hunt on a human planet in that sector. They even invited me to come along, but I accepted your offer instead.”

“The Matriarch believes that Thunder-Spear was captured by White-Rein’s band. If so, so have our clan-mates. My mission is to head to that planet with my commander to find their trail and follow it wherever it leads.”

Your mentor places his drink down as he responds. “That fool Frost-Mantle has gotten himself into quite a mess. I’m almost of a mind to go pull him out myself.”

You wonder what to say next.

>A. Ask him if he knows and warriors or has any unblooded you can take on your mission. You are looking for more men.
>B. Ask him if he would have done anything different on your mission to search the labs.
>C. Ask him for advice on your current mission.

“Could be tough to bring them back if it is just me and Storm-Grasp, which is why he’s asked me to find more warriors willing to go on this mission, preferably those with ships. Even some of the unblooded here could be of use.”

“Hmm,” he says, thinking. “All the warriors of my time have long since retired, but I can still offer you something. I have an old ship which has been wasting away at the shipyards. It’s small, but you could squeeze two yautja in there. Take it on your mission. I’m sending you its location and the ownership codes,” he says tapping his wrist-computer.”

You hear a beep from your own wrist-computer and you talk. “This is a great honor, mentor. Thank you.”

“Thank me by getting my students back,” he says. “As for the unblooded, there’s no guarantee they’ll see combat, but even if they don’t, this mission could be good training. There are only a few which are the right age.”

He goes on to describe his students.

You remember the first two, Bone-Slayer and Grey-Hand. Bone-Slayer is the bigger one who grew overconfident in his duel with Grey-Hand, who himself was distracted by your presence. The third, Venom-Star, is unknown to you.

You form a mental dossier of each as he goes on to discuss their strengths and weaknesses, and their personalities.

Bone-Slayer:

Personality – Aggressive, confident, and indomitable. Prone to single-minded focus on his enemies.
Strength – Melee combat and feats of strength. If you had a plasma cannon, he would not mind holding it.
Weakness – Overconfidence and tunnel vision. Takes things personally.
Preferred weapons – Combi-stick and wrist-blades.

Grey-Hand:

Personality – Reserved, inquisitive, and patient.
Strength – Perceptive. Has good aim and obeys orders without protestation.
Weakness – Can sometimes get distracted or become too curious for his own good. Sometimes indecisive.
Preferred weapons – Discs and spear-guns.

Venom-Star:

Personality – Ambitious, sadistic, and determined.
Strength – Can handle lots of pain and likes to dish it out as well. Fearless.
Weakness – Gets bored if left too long without a fight. Sometimes goes too far. Could be a challenge to get his respect.
Preferred weapons – Combi-stick and plasma casters.

“Any seem like like they fit?” your mentor asks. “You can test them for yourself, if you’d like. They’re training outside.”

You wonder if you should choose one now or first test their abilities.

>B. Choose Venom-Star.
>C. Choose Grey-Hand.

“Mind letting me see what they can do?” you say.

“Sure,” your mentor responds. “Let’s head outside.”

You finish your tea and he leads you out to the balcony. You see his students running past the fence of the training ground alongside the dirt path you always used for runs. As they round the path it begins to point towards the dojo.

Two are quite far ahead of the others, and one of the two is slightly ahead of the one behind him. Your mentor points to them.

“Look at the big one in front. That’s Bone-Slayer, the one you know. Right behind him is Venom-Star,” your mentor says.

“Gather up!” Burning-Spear bellows out to his students. “Wonder who will get here first,” he says to you.

You look at the two. Bone-Slayer does not seem to even have noticed you, continuing at the same pace, though it is one impressive. Venom-Star on the other hand seems to look towards you and your mentor, both of you staring at this competition. Even from this distance you can make out the hint of a snarl on his features as he increases his pace.

He slowly gains on Bone-Slayer, but it is not enough. If nothing happens, Bone-Slayer will arrive first. But something does happen. Venom-Star breaks into a feverish sprint to get close to Bone-Slayer, one he surely cannot maintain for long. You wonder why he is doing this, still too far from the finish line, the fence of the dojo, for such a move to pay off. Soon his stamina will be gone, and he will be even farther behind than he was.

When he is mere feet from Bone-Slayer, still far from the fence, he acts, and you understand his plan. Venom-Star leaps at the back of Bone-Slayer, slamming his foot into Bone-Slayer’s knee as he grabs his thin, still-unbraided dreadlocks and pulls down, sending Bone-Slayer hurtling to the ground with a curse.

Venom-Star runs past Bone-Slayer with a smirk on his face, holding something in his hands as Bone-Slayer slowly pushes himself off from the ground, running again to reclaim his victory, but he is too late.

Venom-Star vaults over the fence and finally finishes his run, exhausted. He pulls a thin, bloody dreadlock from the nail of his left hand and throws it at the ground to his side, smiling as he does it, and then moves his head up to look at you and your mentor. You can almost feel his desire for you to acknowledge his victory.

As he regains his breath Bone-Slayer and the rest finally approach. Bone-Slayer is the first to vault over the fence, staring at Venom-Star with murderous intent.

“I’ll make you pay for that!” he yells, and runs at Venom-Star, who still has his back turned.

Your mentor simply looks at you. You wonder what you should do.

I hadn't thought of that. That would pose a difficulty because you never learned the location of his dojo, or even the name of his mentor. You would have to find him at his home, where Falling-Blade is likely to be as well and try to convince him to come with you without Falling-Blade noticing. Convincing him might not work too. The only time he went against his father's will was when he refused to attack you.

Also, you doubt he is as good as your mentor's best students, just from how much better you were in the duels between you.

But if you guys want to I'll allow it. When choosing one of the three here I'll give an option to say "I'll think about it, then get back to you." Then, among the choice of armory, archive, etc, you'll have the chance to sneak into your former home, perhaps under cloak. This doesn't mean you have to bring him along. You can just go to see how he is doing.

I'd advise against bringing him desu, but votes are king.

You watch from the balcony as Bone-Slayer throws a mighty punch with all his mass and momentum behind him.

Venom-Star turns, still staring at you as he does so, not even attempting to avoid the blow.

The blow strikes him in his right cheek. You expect him to fall then and there but he is simply knocked back, almost stumbling before assuming a combat stance with his fists raised.

“Still worth it,” you hear him say.

A crowd begins to gather around the fight as the slower students return, Grey-Hand among them.

Bone-Slayer lets out a large roar as he throws another punch from the opposite side, but Venom-Star blocks with his arm. Bone-Slayer swings again from the other side and manages to break through Venom-Star’s guard to hit him in his gut, but Venom-Star betrays no hint of pain, and retaliates with a jab at Bone-Slayer’s face which connects.

Angered even more, Bone-Slayer almost dives at Venom-Star, grappling him before leaping into the wooden fence. You hear a crunch as he slams Venom-Star into the barrier, who now leans against the fence as Bone-Slayer prepares to pummel him. The spectators cheer.

He puts up a good defense, even managing to land a few hits, but Bone-Slayer has the advantage, landing stronger blows at his body greater in number. It surprises you how much Venom-Star can endure.

You see Bone-Slayer grow overconfident just as he did before, raising both hands above his head with a laugh in preparation for a brutal strike aimed at the top of Venom-Star’s head. Venom-Star sees his opportunity and darts out his hand to again squeeze Bone-Slayer’s injured dreadlocks with his sharp nails. The pain causes Bone-Slayer’s attack to miss, grazing off the side of Venom-Star’s head harmlessly, to the displeasure of most of the crowd.

Venom-Star brings his other hand forward, thumb near Bone-Slayer’s eye. They are in a clinch. “Concede or lose your eye!” he says, frenzied.

You wonder if you should stop the fight.

“That’s enough!” you shout out.

You see Venom-Star smirk as Bone-Slayer growls with reluctance.

“Break them up!” your mentor commands.

The students which surround them forcibly separate the combatants. Venom-Star is left alone to stare at you while many students surround Bone-Slayer, offering words of support and encouragement. It is obvious which yautja is more popular.

Bone-Slayer ignores those which surround him and turns towards the balcony, looking at your mentor before shouting angrily.

“You saw what he did. He’s a cheat!”

“I didn’t see any rules posted!” Venom-Star shouts in return. “What matters is: I won. You should be thanking me. If this were a real fight you’d have lost your eye.”

Bone-Slayer turns to respond angrily. “If this were a real fight, you’d be dead, no matter how many of my eyes you poked out!”

“You conducted yourself dishonorably, Venom-Star,” your mentor states authoritatively, “and brought shame on me by doing so. You did not win a real victory.”

Venom-Star seems to want to retort but thinks the better of it.

“And you, Bone-Slayer. Victory was within your grasp, but you through it away at the last moment just like before, forgetting your defense. Disappointing.”

“But enough about your fight. Both of you will be disciplined. There is a more important matter. Some of you might have noticed the yautja standing beside me. It is Ebon-Fang, a blooded student of mine some of you might know. He is here to see which of you are worthy enough to join him on his next hunt, one which might serve as your blooding. If not, it will be good training.”

“Only my oldest students are fit for this. Bone-Slayer, Venom-Star, Grey-Hand, step forward!”

The three students step forward, Grey-Hand in the middle, separating the two bruised yautja, one filled with hate for the other.

“How would you like to test them?” your mentor asks you.

“Let’s do something slow and give them a chance to simmer down,” you say.

“Marksmanship, then,” your mentor responds. “Alright, spearguns first.”

Your mentor yells out at his other students to prepare the field for the competition, one you have seen before. Three students run to a shack near the balcony where your mentor keeps the ranged training weapons and other gear. Your mentor taps his wrist-computer to unlock the door and the students enter.

Later, two of them exit carrying a huge, burlap bag filled with sand and carry it beyond the fence of the dojo, into the grass. You do not envy them.

The third exits cradling three spearguns with one arm and ammunition with the other. He hands each of the contestants one of the guns along with some spears, which they immediately load.

The two carrying the bag finally reach the first target point, one-hundred meters away, and drop the sack, moving off to the sides to get clear of the target. You know how it works. Each contestant fires two shots. If they all hit it two times the bag is moved one-hundred meters more and they try again. If they each hit it once, or all miss, they simply shoot again. If anyone hits it less than those who hit it most, they are out of the competition. While the first target is easy, you know it gets more difficult the farther the target is moved, where one must compensate for the drop of the spear and even the drift caused by wind. Additionally, the target itself gets smaller as well when sand drains out of the holes the spears make, and the magnification on these training spears is smaller than in combat models.

The three contestants approach the fence, each separated by a distance, to brace their weapons, but your mentor stops them. “No bracing! Keep the weapons steady with your own sinew. Venom-Star, you first, then Grey-Hand, and then Bone-Slayer.”

The first round proceeds as most do. All score both of their hits. The two yautja in the field signal that they have done so and go to move the sack back one-hundred meters more.

In the second they both hit again, though Bone-Slayer seems to take more time.

In the third, Venom-Star takes more time to aim than before, and then hits both his shots. Grey-Hand hits both of his seemingly easily. Bone-Slayer takes quite a bit of time to aim, more than Venom-Star, hitting his first shot, but missing the second, causing him to curse. He is disqualified and he paces away from the fence angrily, pushing the speargun and his spears into the hands of the student who retrieved them. You see Venom-Star turn his head to look, pleased at the sight.
>>
>>2381627
In the fourth, you can no longer easily make out the bag, nearly half the size it once was, and are forced to rely on the signals of the yautja in the field to know what happens. Venom-Star takes his time to aim, missing his first shot. He curses, knowing he has lost, but aims again to hit the second even if it is futile, managing to land the second shot. Grey-Hand aims carefully and hits the sack twice, as before. He is victorious.

“Well done, Grey-Hand,” your mentor states. “Now, we will do something that is more of a test of reflexes.”

He yells out to his students to prepare the field for the second competition.

writing the next bit
>>
>>2381632
The yautja from before collects the spearguns and takes them back to the shack, later exiting holding a box full of small training discs and a machine which can fire them simultaneously.

The students out in the field run back. When they arrive, the sack of sand is nearly empty, almost totally drained. “Get the plasma-casters and the masks,” your mentor commands. They comply.

Some time later the preparations have been made. All three contestants wear their training masks and plasma casters, and the machine is set up, about twenty-five meters away from the fence. You know how this works. The machine slings out the training discs at irregular paths and different speeds and the contestants try to hit them in mid-air before the discs hit the ground or fly into the trees on the far side of the dojo. In this contest, even one miss disqualifies a contestant.

Here, the placing of those who compete is important. “Same order as before,” your mentor commands. “Take turns, firing from the center of the fence.”

The first round is a mere formality. Just one disc is flung at a slow speed. All easily hit their targets.

In the second round, the single disc is flung faster. All contestants hit their targets, but it requires their focus.

In the third round, two discs are flung. This time, the speed and paths of the discs vary, but none are so slow as the one in the first round. All contestants hit both of their discs, but it takes them more time to track their targets. The last Bone-Slayer hits is more than halfway to the trees when his fires his shot. Their skill seems to vary less than in the previous contest, but you can tell Venom-Star and Grey-Hand hit their targets with more ease. You are unsure which of them is the stronger.

In the fourth round, for Venom-Star, three discs are flung, one arcing high up and the other two being slung across horizontally at a high speed. He does not hesitate and aims first at those which move sideways, hitting them both, then waiting for the one which arcs to slow, hitting it as it begins to move downwards.

Grey-Hand’s discs are fired in a similar way, but he seems to hesitate. He switches between the two groups of discs, unsure which to fire at. Consequently, by the time he has hit two, the last makes its way into the trees.

Three discs are fired for Bone-Slayer as well. He fires at those which move horizontally but misses both due to their high speed. He curses, but manages to hit the final disc.

“Guess you win this one, Venom-Star,” your mentor says, to his great pleasure.

“Have something else in mind, or have you made your decision?” he asks you.

>A. You want to see how they do in duel against you. (choose one of them)

>B. You’ve made your decision.
Grey-Hand seems like an appropriate choice. While he fumbled in the last round of the plasma-casters, he's shown himself to be an excellent shot and having someone with that kind of sharp eye could prove immensely useful on a potential stealth-into-rescue mission.
Bone-Slayer is a formidable warrior, but that combination of weaknesses will get him killed in real combat against a group.
Venom-Star is not suited to a rescue mission whatsoever. A hunt, indeed, but we are rescuing comrades from Bad-Bloods, not going straight for a fight.

Grey-Hand's crippling indecisiveness can be corrected with a well placed order from someone more experienced.
>>
>>2381816
That's why I want him on the mission, particularly. He'll learn to handle pressure if he's up to snuff and with two more experienced hunters with him, we can stop his indecisiveness mid-mission.
>>
>>2381825
We're experienced all of a sudden? :V
Bloodied, yes. We have a good head on our shoulders, yeh. Experienced, nah.
>>
Grey-Hand is kinda like a ranged version of SharpStrike from the original.
The downside of the indecisiveness would become apparent of you ever got separated or lose comms. He's better with orders and will follow them even if he could decide to do something better on his own
The other two are more independent. Bone-Slayer might even be too focused on a fight to acknowledge an order, and Venom-star could decide his idea is better. The latter two are better at exercising their own judgement though, at being sent to do something on their own.
All their weaknesses could be made up for with training and interaction generally. I'll call it in at 20 min mark. Seems Grey-Hand has it. Cooking and on phone currebtly.
Feel free ti predict how each could react to being cooped into your small ass ship during transit, lol. There isn't even enough room for two in the cockpit, one will have to chill on the sarcophagus, unless you let them fly the ship and go with Storm-Grasp or send them to chill on his ship.

As the contestants remove their gear and the other students retrieve it to take it back to the shack you speak quietly. “I think Grey-Hand is best suited for my mission.”

“Alright then,” your mentor says. “Take care of him. He’s more like a suckling than the others.”

“Grey-Hand, come up here!” your mentor shouts out. Grey-Hand looks surprised for a moment and doesn’t move. “Come on!” your mentor says, causing Grey-Hand to jog over to the balcony steps.

You see Bone-Slayer’s displeased face. He turns to his fellow students and says something, causing some laughter. Venom-Star is left alone to stare at you with a blank expression. He mouths something which you can’t hear and then turns away to the fence, staring out at the field.

Grey-Hand arrives and stands before you and your mentor, offering a bow.

Your mentor introduces you. “This is Ebon-Fang. You saw him last time he was here. As I recall, Bone-Slayer made you paid for that,” your mentor says, chuckling.

“I remember,” he says.

“I’m going on a mission and I need a good warrior,” you say.

He says nothing in return, so you continue.

“This isn’t regular. Some of our mentor’s students might have been taken captive by a band of badbloods. Me and my commander have been tasked to get them back. Doubt we’d be able to do it without a fight. I won’t deny it, it would be a tough blooding. Are you willing to join us?”

He thinks for a moment. “Who has gone missing?” he asks.

“Frost-Mantle and Blood-Shadow. There’s also Azure-Blade from a different mentor and Thunder-Spear from a different clan. The goal is to find them all,” you respond.

“I don’t know them…” he says.

“They’re from a different class,” your mentor replies.

“If you think I can help you, I’ll come,” Grey-Hand says.

“Alright. Me and my commander are leaving in the morning. Give me your communication ID,” you say.

He gives you the number which you input into your wrist computer, sending a message.

“You’ll have a message on your wrist-computer, when you get to it. It’s from me. Say your goodbyes to whoever you need to and wait for further instructions. Could call you as early as this evening,” you say.

“Yes sir,” he says. “Um… what should I bring?”

Your mentor responds for you. “Since this is an irregular blooding I’ll loan you more gear than is customary. Take your choice of spear, wrist-blades, and disc before you leave the dojo. Take that and the best armor you have, but cloaking gear or advanced weaponry is disallowed.”
>>
>>2382142
“I’ll get it all together,” he says.

“Do so,” your mentor states.

“Go and tell your fellow students you’ll be going,” you say, “but keep the ‘why’ to yourself. Matriarch doesn’t want this information spreading.”

“All right. Thank you, sir,” he says before leaving.

You both look at him as he leaves. “I think I’ll let him leave dojo early today,” your mentor says, continuing. “Still have some things to go over first. Anything else?” your mentor asks.

“Maybe you could give me some advice,” you say. “How did I do on the abandoned lab? Would you have done anything different?”

“It was a good choice not to attempt to reengage the power. If you had, the humans would probably have known something was off, and it would surely have alerted White-Rein’s band, if they indeed were lurking nearby,” your mentor responds.

“And about those humans, I think you were too skittish. I would have risked staying longer to further search the facility, to find either the black prey or some other trace of White-Rein’s band. Perhaps you could have found something else to aid in your search.”

“And my current mission. Have any advice for me?” you ask.

“Oh, you’re demanding,” your mentor jokes. “I would go to the archives and see if they’ve mapped out the surrounding subsector, or perhaps even the planet. Typically, known hunting grounds have been surveyed by scouts. Do you know anything about the planet?” he asks.

“Frost-Mantle told me it was a human planet, inhabited by some renegade clan, mostly military,” you respond.

“Hmm,” your mentor thinks. “Well, you should check to see if they hunted before being captured, if that’s what happened. If they went on their hunt before being captured, you might find their trail somewhere on planet.”

You thank your mentor for the advice.

“I better go get prepared,” you say.

“Good idea. I envy you, you know. Old age isn’t very exciting, if you manage to live as long as I have.”

Your mentor shouts out at his students to gather and goes down from the balcony, to the training grounds.

You wonder where you should go next.

A. Armory, to pick out new gear.
B. Archives, to find information about the Tarragon-2 system.
C. Shipyards, to check out the ship your mentor gave you.
D. Your old home. Maybe you can sneak in to check on your stepbrother.

You leave the dojo and head towards the Archives.

Sometime later you arrive. You enter the lobby and see the secretary you saw this morning.

“Back already?” she says, looking up to you.

“Yes,” you reply.

There is an awkward pause. She speaks again.

“What for!?”

“Oh. I need to see if there are any maps here of the Tarragon sub-sector, preferably system two.”

You hear her type on the computer which is in front of her. She waits a bit, looking at the screen. You see the lighting of the screen change and she begins to speak.

“Seems we do have something. A cartograph of that system and one of the planets was submitted just a few days ago. What’s this for, anyway?” she asks.

“A mission for the matriarch,” you reply.

“You seem a bit young for that sort of thing,” she says, examining you, “but I guess you’re not lying. The Head Archivist has been complaining about that mask ever since you arrived. Wouldn’t be working so hectically if it wasn’t for someone important,” she muses. “Come here, I can transfer the maps to your wrist-computer.”

You oblige and walk behind the table, near her. She grabs your arm and inserts a cable into a port on your wrist-computer.

“A lot of sensitive data on these computers. We don’t do transfers wirelessly; have to get physical.”

“There, it’s done. Anything else?” she says, turning her head to look towards you.

>A. Leave and study the maps some time later.

“That’s all. Thank you,” you say, removing the cable and her hand from your arm as you head deeper into the Archives, to one of the isolated information computers.

You hook up your wrist-computer to the larger computer in front of you and go over the data.

It appears the star of the Tarragon-2 system is a main sequence star, like most in systems which can support life. The star has five satellites, some of which have moons.

The third is of interest, by the edge of the habitable zone, near the star. It appears to be a mostly dry and red, desert-like planet, from the notes, and has one satellite. Both the satellite and the planet are inhabited by humans, but the moon has very few and functions mostly as a docking bay for ships, and also an observatory.

You look at the scans of the planet, but they are incomplete. You see a note which states that due to the strong winds on the planet, enormous sandstorms are produced, and these impeded efforts to map the planet. Despite this, whoever scouted it was able to make an approach to figure out where some of the humans lived. They found a settlement in an inactive volcano and conjectured that due to the high surface temperature most potable water must be found in underground lakes and rivers. They also doubt the planet is geologically active.

The scout was unable to approach further due to the large ring of anti-aircraft defense systems which surrounded the rim of the volcano.

A final note made by whoever surveyed the planet approves of using this planet as a hunting ground, but warns of the high surface temperatures and strong winds.

You wonder where you should go next.

You know, even a few years ago I was thinking about just picking up where he left off and writing the escape from earth from Three-Claw's perspective, but there are a few problems. I still don't know where he was exactly going with the plot and the conspiracy so I doubt I would be able to write a satisfying conclusion to that arc if I were to just pick up PredQuest, much less tie in this quest's plot with that of the original. I would have to reread the quest in its entirety and reverse engineer the hidden plot-points to work out what he was planning behind the scenes. There is also the matter of writing all of the characters the way they were written before.

My style is quite different already, wouldn't be like the original. I could slap the Three-Claw name on some agent of the empress and say this quest is taking place like, a decade later, but it would just be a superficial labeling without involving the original plot and characters, and also would be pandering so I don't want to do that.

I'm keeping things like the time-frame intentionally ambiguous to allow for the possibility of a tie-in later even though I know it is unlikely. Don't hold your breath it'll probably never happen because I won't do it unless I think it would actually work.

Since you're an orphan I could always make three-claw your dad, lol.

You decide to head to the armory and pick out some new gear. The secretary waves you a goodbye which you return as you leave.

You head towards the armory. You hear your wrist-computer beep and notice a message. When you read it your eyes widen. Fifty-thousand credits have been transferred to your account from the Matriarch, along with congratulations on completing your trials and your first mission. You’re not sure what to even spend it on.

Some time later you arrived at the same metal-barred requisition window you were at before. Behind it sits the quartermaster. You approach the window and she speaks.

“I remember you. You’re the student of Burning-Spear. You look much better in my armor, and not the rags which you arrived with before,” she snickers. “Have more trophies for me?”

“I’m afraid not. My mission was not very fruitful in that respect,” you respond, “but I still need gear. The Matriarch said I should head to the armory.”

“Did she? Name?” she asks.

“Ebon-Fang.”

She looks into her wrist-computer. “Your right. Mentions your name, and another. He hasn’t arrived yet. I guess you get first pickings.”

She opens the door and beckons you to follow her. She leads you through the large armory to the same hallway as before. You find yourself flanked by many doors leading to storage rooms as she speaks.

“Have some new things in here,” she says, then looks at you. “Clock is ticking youngblood!”

You quickly decide which room to enter.

>A. Armor Room (contains armor, cloaking systems, power packs)
>B. Weapon Room
>C. Gadget Room (masks, miscellaneous technological equipment)

>>Here’s a list of your equipment, if I haven’t missed anything
>medium armor

You enter the gadget room and see many devices mounted on the wall. You pass the masks and look at the different equipment.

You decide to take the:
>>Take one if you want to have enough time to also check out the masks and discs. You can take two, but the more time you spend in here the less other stuff you can grab.
>A. Las-mine dispenser. This small, pump-powered weapon can fling laser-triggered trip-mines which stick to surfaces. It can hold up to five mines. To fire any more, you would have to reload.
>B. Concealed wrist-blade. This single wrist-blade blends right in with your wrist computer, and is resists detection by scans. You could sneak it into even the most secure areas.
>C. Stun-stick. This small but heavy prod produces an electric shock which can non-lethally disable even full-grown yautja.
>D. Compact net-gun. This one-time use netgun attaches to your wrist-computer, able to fire a a net-ball which can extend to trap its target in a sharp, metal netting, and can be commanded to constrict and slice its target apart. It takes a long time to reload.
>E. Two sheet explosives. These sheet-like, chemical explosives can silently breach through even thick metal walls if ignited.
>F. Four disruptor grenades. These grenades activate an ECM burst which can neutralize electronics. It also emits a blinding flash. Most plasma weapons are ECM shielded.

You then decide to move on to the:

I'll just go with A.

>>A. Vision masks
>>
>>2382943
You approach the rack which holds the vision masks.

Thanks to your familiarity with your duelist mask you are able to spot some more advanced models of that type. You also see some other masks.

You wonder which to take.

>A. Duelist Mask. This mask has lightning quick tracking speed at melee range, improving your melee reflexes and predicting arriving blows. It is highly durable, but it does not aid your long-range vision at all.
>>i. Skullgun Mask. This mask has an integrated primitive cannon in its frontal armor, able to fire a large, ballistic slug by igniting propellant. A plasma powered gun would interfere too much with the masks electronics. This mask seems slightly less durable than the conventional duelist masks. It is good for one shot before a reload.
>>ii. Holographic Mask. This mask has an emitter which can emit a nearly perfect three-dimensional hologram. It has a range of fifty meters. It is, aside from the fragile holographic emitter, entirely like your conventional duelist mask.
>B. Scout Mask. This lightweight mask with variable vision modes has great vision range and resolution, as well as advanced terrain tracking features. Though it has acceptable tracking speed at all ranges, it is not very durable.
>C. Ranger Mask. This mask is made to aid ranged combat. A ballistic computer greatly decreases the response time for plasma-caster tracking. It is of medium durability and does not aid its user much in melee.
>D. Tech Mask. This strange mask has advanced networking and cyberwarfare capabilities, and contains programs used to analyze and scan technological equipment. It can be used to intercept enemy communications and impede the fighting ability of synthetics. It has acceptable tracking speed at all ranges but is not very durable.

eh why not
>>
Going with holographic mask.
>>
>>2383009
Is it strange for predators to have multiple masks? Picking up the tech mask later on seems like it could be useful.
>>
>>2382993
You take the holographic mask and put it on. You test the holographic functionality and project an image of a yautja warrior right next to you. The projection beam is nearly invisible, and aside from a barely perceptible faint flickering, and a slight stiffness in the warrior’s movements, the projection is life-like.

You move over to the discs and examine them. You wonder which you should take.

>A. Ghost disc. This disc isn’t like the other discs. It has an integrated cloaking system as well as a camera extending from the center. Hooked up to your mask it can transmit video in real-time, and also has flight-systems which make it nearly silent, and a small, integrated explosive just powerful enough to destroy the disc, but unlikely to cause even moderate damage. Unfortunately, it is slow to fly and entirely useless for combat, and cannot break through even small barriers.
>B. Saw disc. This handheld, melee disc has a brutal looking, powered saw, which you can activate by pressing a button on the grip. The saw looks incredibly sharp and you don’t doubt it could cut through armor, maybe even metal doors, but the disc has no tracking system, is almost useless as a thrown weapon, and is very loud.
>C. Reflex disc. This disc is the middle ground between the smart disc and the saw disc. It can perform well both when thrown and in melee but does not excel in either. It has less range and speed than the smart disc, and less armor-piercing capability and destructive power than the saw disc.
>>
>>2383033
>REFLEX DISC
>>
>>2383028
Depends on the status of the hunter and if they are being loaned gear from an armory or buying it/bartering for it.

These are considered as gifts from the Matriarch to you since you were successful on your mission, so you won't have to return the old duelist mask.

Other hunters with less favor don't own much of their weapons and armor, unless they buy it themselves, considered more the property of the clan.
>>
>>2383033

>>2383038
Also you won't be able to attach multiple masks to your belt before missions. That would just be too damn cheesy. I'll just say it takes too much space if you try and you'll have to leave other important shit behind.
You can keep a few spares on your ship though.
>>
Alright, going with the reflex disc.
>>
>>2383033
You take the reflex disc and link it to your mask. You hold it upwards and experimentally command it to hover, and then raise your left hand and use the recall command. It flies right towards your hand and disables its whirring blades right in time for you to grab it.

You stow it to your belt and exit the gadget room.

The quartermaster looks at you and your new gear, then speaks. “I see you have paced yourself, good. Go and get some weapons or armor.”

You wonder which room you should enter next.

You decide to enter the armor room. As you pass the quartermaster she speaks.

“Don’t think you can come out of there wearing everything like the last time. One armor item; that’s it.”

You nod and enter the armor storage room to see a long line of armor racks and storage closets.

The examine the gear and see some different things than before. You wonder what you should pick.

>>choose one
>>
>A. Armor
>>i. Heavy Armor - The armor worn by many senior ranking Hunters and those first to charge into where the fighting is thickest. Metal plates cover every inch of your body, and your strength is enhanced by the actuators inside of the suit’s joints. Though it greatly increases your strength and durability, it weighs you down heavily, and makes it more difficult to dodge or quickly change directions, as well as not being the best suited for stealth. Cloak drains faster in this armor.
>>>a. Conventional heavy armor. This armor is the same as that above.
>>>b. Air-tight heavy armor. This heavy armor is like that described above except it is fit for use in a vacuum. It comes with an integrated air-tank holding enough air for three hours of operation, as well as magnetic boots which can grip metal surfaces. Unfortunately, this heavy armor does not have actuators to enhance your strength. It seems more well-armored than the hard-suits in Storm-Grasp’s ship, but also heavier.
>>ii. Light Armor - This armor is little more than a set of harnesses, which allow for unhindered movement at the cost of protection. Nothing is armored aside from your back, which is covered by a thin plate, your knees, and your feet. You notice the soles of the boots are made to minimize the sound and tracks made by moving, and that it comes with climbing gloves which would allow you to climb even sheer walls without handholds, if not weighed down. Cloak drains slower in this armor.
>B. Power packs
>>i. Hunter pack – This light backpack has an average energy capacity and a fusion charger which can recharge from zero to full in six hours. It holds enough energy for fifty plasma caster shots and fifteen minutes of uninterrupted cloaking time, if using a standard cloak.
>>ii. Titan pack – This heavy backpack has a huge energy capacity, almost quadruple that of the hunter pack, but it can only be charged from a different energy source, such as those found in armories or aboard hunting ships. It holds enough energy for one-hundred and sixty plasma caster shots and an hour of uninterrupted cloaking time, if using a standard cloak.
>C. Cloaking systems
>>i. Ghost cloak – This cloak offers perfect cloaking, both when moving and standing still. However, it drains energy at twice the rate of the Chameleon cloak and grows hot on extended use, making you easy to detect by thermals.
>>ii. Plasma cloak – This isn’t a cloak like the others. If a plasma bolt comes close to hitting you a magnetic energy shield will negate the attack. It takes thirty minutes for the cloak to recharge, costing ten units of energy, transferred when recharge is begun. It has no effect against ballistic or melee weapons.
>>iii. Spectre cloak – This cloak, originally designed for industrial purposes, cannot compensate for movement at all. Even the slightest movement will bring you out of cloak. However, it is extremely efficient and drains energy at one tenth the rate of the standard cloak.
>>
>>2383170
As a reference, this is what you have on you:

Chameleon cloak – The standard cloak. Good cloaking on the light and thermal spectrums. You are nearly invisible while standing, but while moving perceptive enemies can easily spot you due to its shimmering.

Runner pack – This nearly unnoticeable backpack has a low energy capacity, holding enough energy for fifteen plasma caster shots and seven and a half minutes of uninterrupted cloaking time, with a standard cloak, but has efficient dual fusion chargers which can fully recharge the weapon in just half an hour.

Medium Armor - The most commonly encountered armor among Yautja. Large armored plates cover your back, front, and sides. Light scales cover your shoulders and thighs, and armored boots protect your lower legs and feet. Provides a balance of protection and mobility, but does weigh you down somewhat. Cloak drains at a normal rate in this armor.
>>
>>2383170
Seems like it will be useful when fighting against bad bloods.
>>
>>2383182

>>
You can keep all your old gear. You'll put it in one of the storage closets nearby and roll it around with you.

Air tight heavy armour, titan pack, ghost cloak (use it in bursts)

You decide to take the regular heavy armor, but hesitate before grabbing it.

You wonder if you should wear the heavy armor now or put it into a storage container to have it transferred to either your new ship or Storm-Grasp's ship. You know the heavy armor would protect you well but it might make it more difficult to sneak into your former home, if you intend to check on your step-brother.

Though you are curious what it feels like to wear the heavy armor you decide you’ll have to find out later. You move over to one of the wheeled storage closets and unlatch it from the wall, and then you wheel it over to the armor rack which holds the heavy armor and start transferring the gear. You also place your old duelist mask which you have been holding into the closet.

You leave the room dragging the closet behind you. When the quartermaster sees you, she speaks.

“Halt! Let me see what you have in here.”

You comply, opening the closet.

“Alright. Just checking to see that you haven’t filled it to the brim like some other hunters. Wanting to go to the weapons room? Fine. Take two weapons and no more. Any more and you’re leaving with nothing, understand?” she says.

You nod, thanking her, and then make your way to the weapons room.

You enter the weapons storage room. The walls are covered with many different weapons racks, and you see some you did not last time.

You wonder which two you should take.

>A. Standard combi-stick – The models here are heavier than those you train with in the dojo, but otherwise unremarkable.
>B. Heavy wrist-blades – These two brutal blades are heavy, long, and strong. With all your weight behind a stab you could easily pierce armor. They are better for blocking than the light blades, however, they cannot be retracted and could interfere with your movement.
>C. Net gun – This gun fires a net-ball which can extend to trap its target in a sharp, metal netting, and can be commanded to constrict and slice its target apart.
>D. Standard plasma caster – This plasma-caster is much like those you have trained with before at the dojo, except the tracking malus which was placed on the training casters to force you to improve your aim is gone.
>E. Long-range spear gun – This scoped weapon fires a forked spear which can travel very long distances. Its scope can be linked to your mask, though your duelist mask would offer only the most basic support.

Before I go to sleep I will remind you that the plasma cannon uses all fifteen units of energy in your runner power pack.
Your pack recharges at a rate of .5 units per minute.
Cloak in your pack drains at an effective rate of 1.5 per minute if I have my math right. Most plasma weapons cost one unit to fire once.
Heavy armor will increase the drainage rate of cloak by 15%, likewise, light armor will decrease it by that number.

Your attention moves to the scoped speargun. You remove the hefty weapon from its rack, extending it and loading it with nearby ammunition, hearing a heavy click.

You use your wrist-computer to connect the scoping system to your mask. Leveling the weapon towards the end of the storage room you peer through the scope. The magnification is larger than that in the spearguns which you trained with at the dojo.

You retract the weapon and sling it over your back and approach the rack which holds the netgun, taking it into your hands.

This wide, triple barreled weapon is shorter than the speargun. You break the weapon into two and load it with three netballs from the rack, closing it and once again leveling it to your shoulder.

There is no scope to peer through, the net-gun being a weapon only suited for short range.

You attach the weapon to the left side of your belt and hook it to your thigh, moving to the wheeled storage compartment to fill it with a modest amount of ammunition for your netgun, speargun, and plasma pistol, loading the latter with a plasma clip.

You finish and close the compartment, heading towards the exit of the weapon storage room as you drag it behind you.

You exit the room and see the quartermaster who speaks. “I see you have two weapons, as I said. Let me see what you have there.”

You comply, opening the storage compartment and showing her what lies within.

“Just ammunition, alright. We’re done here,” she says, and then gestures to the storage compartment. “I can have one of my lackeys deliver this to your ship, or you can come back for it later, in secure storage. Your choice.”

>A. Ask her to have it delivered to Storm-Grasp’s ship.
>B. Tell her you will come back for it later.

You wonder where you should go next.
>C. Shipyards, to check out the ship your mentor gave you.

“You can send it to the Fire-Seer, in the spaceport: landing bay five. It’s the ship of my commander Storm-Grasp,” you say.

“Ah, the other one mentioned in my message. Alright. Come here and link the compartment to your wrist-computer,” she responds.

You do so, and she shows you how to activate the lock.

“I’ll take care of the rest,” she says, taking hold of the storage compartment. She beckons you to follow her and she leads you to the exit.

She opens the door and you leave. As you walk away from the Armory you hear her voice behind you.

“Win some trophies with my gear this time!”

...

You feel the heat of the sun on your dreadlocks as you head towards your old home. It is still high in the sky.

You finally arrive, approaching the wall of another lodging nearby and peering beyond to look at your old lodgings, careful not to make yourself visible.

The front door is closed and the windows have been shuttered. You don’t know if anyone is inside or not.

You wonder how you should make your approach.

>A. Approach the front door, making no attempts to hide yourself.

You engage your cloak and the shadow you cast on the wall disappears.

You see yourself shimmer as you quickly approach the side of your former lodgings, stopping when you reach the wall to crouch down. You shoot yourself up with your legs and land softly on the clay tile roof.

You pause to check your surroundings. Hearing and seeing nothing out of the ordinary, you slowly crouch up to the center of the roof.

When you reach it you suddenly hear talking. It seems to be coming from the back of your former lodgings, where the porch meets the garden.

You cautiously approach, passing the glass sunroof over the steam room to your right, and manage to make out the hint of a conversation. You manage to make out the words due to your sharp hearing. It is Falling-Blade, your foster father.

“-orrow. I’ve payed you in advance already,” There is a pause, and then you hear him speak again, more angrily. “I need it for one last thing. Send one of your hunters to pick it up in the morning. I’ll fulfill my promise, as I always have. Now do what you’ve agreed to.”

There is another pause and then he speaks yet again, more calmly. “Good. Ash-Spike awaits your arrival, as do I.”

You suddenly hear irregular footsteps and a recurrent wooden thump from the porch, as well as a shout. “You better have your things ready!” It seems he is returning to the inside of the lodgings.

>A. You will drop down to the porch and slip inside behind him. (DC: Medium)
>B. You will approach the glass sunroof on the right-most side of the roof and try to carve through the glass to drop into the building. This could be loud. (DC: Medium)
>C. You will approach the window of your former room. It is likely shuttered, but you could use one of your two chemical breaching sheets to get past the barrier.

You decide to wait on the roof.

You hear the porch door close and latch as the footsteps travel further within the house.

You place your ear to the surface of the roof to see if you can hear anything. You hear talking but it is very faint and you can’t quite make it out.

“-nter intended fo…me has agree…enrolled in…own weak and disg...do nothing to…revenge on…their hands n…”

You hear the faintest sound of footsteps move away from the sound, growing steadily louder and then disappearing.

You wonder what you should do.

You carefully move towards the sunroof and quietly draw your sword.

Still cloaked, you approach the edge and lie down, head hanging over the window and hands at the rim. You see the long wooden seats surrounding the bath at the center within the room.

You stretch both your arms upwards, holding the sword with both hands and pointing its sharp edge towards the earth

The sword moves downwards through the glass, cutting through cleanly and quietly, to your surprise. The glass remains intact.

You use your strength to carefully carve through the sunroof to form an opening. You expect the glass to scream but it is relatively quiet.

You attentively carve a semicircle through the glass, ending when your sword reaches the tiled roof.

You push your sword sideways against the semicircular piece which you have separated and manage to bring it up with your blade when you pull it back upwards. You grab the glass and leave it on the roof nearby as you sheath your sword and hang from the tiled roof, your feet entering the opening.

You let go of the roof and fall through, managing to land outside of the bath onto the tile floor. You stop a moment to examine your surroundings but hear nothing stir through the walls.

You stand up and walk towards the center of the lodgings, exiting the steamroom.

You walk through the hall and approach the central room where you and Falling-Blade fought.

You hear something metal latching below the stairs to your left, as well as a thump.

In front of you, towards the hallway which leads Ash-Spike’s, room, you hear a storage compartment close.

On your HUD you notice you have eleven units of energy left in your pack. You wonder which way to head next.

You head through the hallway and hear someone rummaging through gear grow louder.

You arrive at the doorway to Ash-Spike’s room and look through. His back faces you as he latches closed a small storage compartment which lies on his bare bed.

He moves to turn around, and you wonder what you should do.

As he turns you disengage your cloak.

You see each other’s masked faces and there is a pause.

“Brother,” you say.

He jumps forward, pushing you by the shoulders and slamming you into the wooden wall behind you, causing you to grunt.

“Coming back after what you did. Why?” he asks angrily, pushing you into the wall as you raise your hands to his wrists.

“I wanted to see how you were doing,” you say simply, your anger rising as you remember the fight.

You feel his grip on you slacken for a moment, but then it grows even stronger as he speaks.

“I should kill you for what you did to my father!”

You wonder how you should respond.

>A. Unrepentantly. His father deserved what happened for trying to take your trophies and your sword, and all his years of abuse.
>B. Conciliatory. You regret what happened and apologize. You should not have taken the fight so far.

Alright, A.

“He deserved it,” you hiss, “and you know it yourself!”

That causes his grip to tighten as he pulls his right hand back to swing it at your face.

You block it with your left arm, turning his left hand inwards with your right, putting a painful pressure on his wrist as you push him backwards into his room causing him to stumble into his bed.

You approach him and he raises his fists as he recovers, expecting an attack, but your hands remain low and relaxed as you speak, causing him to waver.

“Trying to take my trophies after my trial,” you say heatedly, “trying to take my weapon! Any blooded hunter would have done the same.”

“You tried to kill him!” he says, hands still raised, but the will for a fight obviously not entirely there.

You laugh. “He tried to kill me after I gave him the beating he deserved! Or did he tell it to you differently!?”

His hands lower slightly as you speak again.

“Where are you going?”

He looks around nervously and then responds, hands still raised.

“Yautja Prime. I’m to be enrolled in the warrior training camps, those for the clanless, meant to serve the Empress directly. My father… he’s given up on me, says I’m too weak to take revenge, says he can do nothing for me and this is my last chance to become strong… and he’s right,” he says, giving a choked laugh.

You think about how to respond but then you hear a knock from the front door, causing you both to jerk.

You hear the knock again and the sound of heavy boots running up steps.

You wonder what to do.

>A. Leave your stepbrother with some final words and disappear.
>>i. Tell him he is to weak to ever take revenge on you, and he better forget about his father’s ideas if he wants to go on living.

“You wouldn’t be so weak if your father let us train together,” you respond, causing him to wince.

You hear the front door open and then the sound of yautja voices. The greetings die down.

“Ash-Spike! Over here, now!” you hear Falling-Blade bellow.

Your stepbrother moves to leave the room, but you stop him with a hand on his shoulder as you speak.

“I have my own ship. When I come back from my mission, we can hunt together, train together. You don’t have to live following his commands your whole life,” you say.

You are unable to read Ash-Spike’s reaction.

“What did I say?! Get over here now, you deaf idiot!”

Ash-Spike removes your hand from his shoulder and then leaves the room wordlessly.

You are left in his bare room as you hear Falling-Blade deride him more, and then introduce him to the stranger.

You engage cloak and leave the room, moving down the hall to better hear the conversation.

“Don’t worry, we’ll make a true hunter out of you, Ash-Spike,” you hear the stranger say. “Go outside, meet my retinue. They’ll show you to my ship.”

You hear movement, and then the opening and closing of the front door. The stranger speaks again.

“I’ve done what I’ve agreed.”

“You’ll get what you want!” Falling-Blade says venemously, “but in the morning. I need my ship for something today.”

You hear the stranger chuckle. “Fine. One of my men will pick it up at the shipyard. Which hangar do you store it, by the way?”

“E237. You’ve already been given the codes. No earlier than the morning, understand?” Falling-Blade says.

“Alright, alright. Your contribution is appreciated. We will make use of your ship… and your son.” The stranger responds.

There is a terse goodbye, and after some movement, you hear the door open and close once more.

Suddenly you hear an irregular movement and a wooden clacking heading towards the hallway you are in. You quickly retreat into the nearby bathroom and peer through a crack at the door at Falling-Blade, who paces as quickly as he can down the hallway, which is not so quick, due to his limp and his cane. You wonder when he sustained such injuries.
>>
>>2391019
You feel adrenaline as he approaches the door the bathroom, but then he proceeds further down the hallway, towards your room.

You hear your wooden door open and then a roar, and the crushing of wood.

Curious, you exit your bathroom and head down the hallway to your room, cloaked, hearing the devastation all the while. You lean against the wall, approaching the room, and then a fist crashes through right in front of your eyes before being drawn back inside the room to pummel something else within.

You peek through the hole and see Falling-Blade in full heavy armor, except a mask, and wearing the three traditional hunting weapons, having dropped his cane. He extends his wrist-blades and starts to tear apart what once was your bed.

He soon exhausts himself and falls to his knees. You hear him whisper to himself as he breathes heavily.

“Much good it did me, keeping my promises, but I’ve fulfilled them all, nonetheless. Now, I can finally meet the Black Warrior.”

He grabs his cane and slowly stands, moving to exit the room.

You quickly retreat to the kitchen and watch him exit the front door, not even bothering to close it behind him.

You wonder what to do.

You watch him through the door still cloaked as he leaves his lodgings and moves into the street.

You move through the front door to trail behind him at a distance, disengaging your cloak.

He leads you through towards the center of the city, passing by the shuttles which might hasten his journey, preferring to go on foot. You are careful to maintain distance while not losing sight as you move through the increasingly dense multitude of yautja.

He changes direction and moves towards the shipyards, and you follow.

After a long walk you approach at the shipyards, bustling with yautja and activity. Ships fly over your head as you follow him to a long line of hangars, passing the section which holds your own, moving towards section E.

He leads you to the very end of section E, the mass of yautja decreasing in density and then disappearing completely. You approach closer, watching from between two nearby hangars as he brings his arm up to open the large shutter door which contains his ship, under a hanger numbered 237.

The shutter door opens and you see his ship for the first time inside the hangar, front facing outwards. He presses his wrist-computer once more and you hear the familiar sound of a ramp extending.

He lowers his arm and enters the hangar. You wonder if you should follow him.

Well, you can just find a spot to hide inside the ship where the cockpit surveillance cameras do not reach.
OOC, all you are in for if you go is a conclusion to Falling-Blade's story, one you might possibly affect. No downsides apart from a delay in reaching the ship you've been gifted.

You engage your cloak and swiftly close the distance to the hangar which he entered.

You enter yourself and recall your first kill, the digging worker drone, choosing your footsteps diligently to minimize sound just as you did that day as you approach his back. You succeed once more. Aside from the extension of the ramp all you hear is the thud of his heavy boots and the click of his wooden cane.

He turns to walk up the ramp in the rear and you and press your back against the nearby hangar wall, becoming still in an area of relative darkness. You watch him climb up the ramp and when you lose sight of him you move to the base yourself.

You place your foot on the base of the ramp and it begins to retract. You climb up the moving ramp and reach the top

You see the shadow of Falling-Blade in a straight hallway to your front, passing under a camera as you head that way while the ramp fully retracts behind you with a heavy click.

You don’t see any cameras in the hallway itself, and don’t take many steps before reaching what looks like a small central command room. You see Falling-Blade in front of a circular table in the center, itself under a circular camera and in front of a metal hatch. From the light which emanates from the rim of the table, you can tell he is looking at a hologram, but his body blocks your view.

The light dies down and he passes the table, moving towards the cockpit, which is not far.

You notice you have thirteen units of energy left in your pack. You wonder what you should do.

>>Note: Using cloak with your current gear results in a net energy drain of 1.5 units per minute.

You wait, watching Falling-Blade approach the cockpit door. He moves his hand over the holopad and it slides open. He walks through and it closes behind him.

You approach the circular table in the center of the room. You see tube-like holographic apertures on the inside of the rim, spaced at even intervals.

As you approach the control panel you suddenly hear the hum of the power and the dull roar of the engines. Falling-Blade has started the ship. You feel a lurch and assume it has flown out of the hangar.

You bring your hands to the control panel and set the holograph to a smaller and less noticeable, two-dimensional setting before setting it to produce the last viewed image.

A hint of light flows from the apertures and you see a small picture flat on table, right in front of you. You see two yautja standing side-by-side. One of them is a younger Falling-Blade. The other is a female you do not recognize.

You disable the holograph and look at the control panel once more, moving your fingers slowly to reduce the shimmering, mindful of the camera just above.

You find the option to view mapping and navigational data and activate it. You see on the map that the ship is already outside the city bounds.

You look at the navigational systems to see if you can find out his destination. To your surprise a final destination has been set, on planet, ship likely flying on autopilot. At this speed it is not more than an hour away.

You use the controls to change the map to that surrounding the destination. Your eyes widen as you see a familiar sight. Plains to the east, rocks to the west, a jungle in the center, and a sea to the north, just like what you saw looking at your mentor’s map and falling from your mentor’s ship. You’re looking at your trial grounds.

You lean against the wall in the dark, narrow hallway linking the exit of the ship to the command room. The ship lurches and you look at the time on your mask’s HUD. It has been an hour since you looked at the holographic central table. The ship must be close to its destination.

Suddenly you hear a loud crushing sound from beneath you, audible even through the ship’s metal hull. You rise to your feet and are nearly knocked down right afterwards, hearing an incredibly loud thud from below. It seems the ship has landed.

You hear the engines die down. You quickly engage your cloak. Shortly after, the cockpit door slides open and Falling-Blade exits into the central room as you hear the ramp extend.
>>
>>2401222
The ramp continues to extend as you move back to the small room near the exit, hugging the corner and remaining perfectly still.

Falling-Blade enters the room you are in and walks down the ramp as you begin to move behind him. He stops when he reaches the ground, raising his wrist-computer and tapping it with his other hand before detaching it from his arm and throwing it on the ground, and then moving onwards.

Suddenly the ramp begins to retract. You quickly hang from the side and drop down to the grassy ground. From the thick bushes and trees which surround you, you see you are in the jungle. He must have landed his ship right on top of the trees, causing the loud sound as it crushed them into the dirt.

You see him move further into the jungle as you approach his detached wrist-computer, picking it up to see a holographic text, and two prompts below.

“Auto-pilot engaged. Take-off in 4… 3… “

You quickly find the prompt to cancel the take-off and engage it, disabling the count down. You look through his wrist-computer, having full access to all systems, and engage the ship’s cloak remotely.

You look up and see Falling-Blade farther away northwards, obscured by the thick foliage. You quickly stow the wrist-computer to your belt and follow him from behind, disengaging your cloak to save energy now that he faces away from you. The sun is no longer high in the sky. You estimate you have five more hours of light.

Some time later he arrives at what seems like a clearing, stepping out from the brush, downwards and out of your sight.

You increase your pace, engaging your cloak as you approach the clearing, hearing a loud howl from below.

You see him in the center of what looks to be a large plasma blast crater holding an extended combi-stick in his right hand. He howls again out to the jungle forest. You see the melted corpse of a black beast hanging over the left-most edge of this crater.

You wonder what caused this crater, but your musing is interrupted by a distant shriek of the black prey from in front of you, and then another from your right. You hear a rustling in the distance from your right and you leap up into a nearby tree to avoid what comes as you stare at Falling-Blade in the crater.

He takes his combi-stick in both hands as the rustling grows louder. You look down at the ground to track the incoming beasts. You see two… three… no, five beasts in total. The two northwards are farther than the three eastwards. On a whim you set your mask to record.
>>
>>2401223
The east-most beasts arrive, one smaller than the others. As they approach the edge of the crater you manage to identify their castes. One is a small runner perpetually on all fours, one is a common drone larger in size, and the last is the largest, a hunter-warrior whose carapace bears a large scar extending from its right shoulder down to its chest.

In a combat stance, Falling-Blade faces the three beasts which circle him at the edge of the crater, holding his combi-stick with both hands and letting out a large roar.

That provokes a leap from the small red runner, carapace a dark hue of almost-red. It turns into a bloody blur as it flies towards Falling-Blade’s neck.

He brings his combi-stick up from below and carves into the beast’s body, impaling it on his spear, and as he does, the larger black drone pounces at his body.

His combi-stick is not angled well to defend against the attack, still skewering the squirming runner. He lets go of it with his right arm as he extends his wrist-blade, swinging it outwards just in time to meet the attack of the drone.

He sinks his wrist-blade into the chest of the beast right before it its maw manages to close onto his head, but it does not give up. It’s inner mouth darts out and manages to take out a chunk of his cheek above his broken fang, causing him to groan in pain. It attacks with its right claw and he drops his combi-stick to defend.

You see the hunter-warrior’s slick carapace glisten as it moves towards Falling-Blade to make its own attack, as the two beasts north of the crater move closer. Even with his heavy armor, his odds are not good.

You wonder what to do.

>A. Let him face the beasts on his own and allow him to meet the Black Warrior in the way he wills.
>B. Help him kill the beasts so you can kill him yourself. You still have not had your complete revenge. You will claim his life yourself rather then let the black prey have him.
>C. Something else.

We are part of an honour based culture after all

You decide to watch and wait.

The large, scarred hunter breaks into a sprint. Falling-Blade extends his left wrist-blade as the drone’s right claw flies towards his face.

Before his combi-stick hits the ground, his arm is in the path of the claw, heavy bracer absorbing the force of the blow as he sinks his wrist-blade deep into the drone’s skull, causing it to grow limp.

It is then that the thick-limbed hunter reaches him, pouncing at him from his left.

With both blades still embedded in the drone he is slow to react. The beast reaches him from outside his defense.

You hear a scream of pain as they collide. Its claw rends the unprotected flesh just below his arm and the beasts jaw closes in on the side of his head before being drawn up again, a severed mass of dreadlocks jutting out from its teeth.

He is knocked prone by the attack. The beast grabs onto him with all fours as it moves to bite again, tail stretched above its head and poised to strike.

Its jaws stretch to close onto his neck, but he thrusts his armored arm straight into its maw, destroying its inner throat with his wrist-blades. The beast betrays no hint of pain, deciding to close its jaws right onto his arm with the massive force of its bite. You see his metal bracer crumple, trapped in the jagged vice as the tip of the beast’s tail punches right through his armor, narrowly missing his spine as it sinks into his back below his shoulder, provoking howl of pain.

He sinks his other wrist-blade into its body and rolls it onto its back, reversing their positions. Blood flows from the deep puncture wound in his back as he eviscerates it repeatedly with his wrist-blades. He is nearly finished when the two beasts from the north arrive.

You see these are two hunter-warriors just like that which lies beneath him. These do not delay and immediately rush at him from behind.

He hears the noise and turns, drawing his heavy disc with his left hand to sling it at the right-most beast, but the agile creature ducks into the ground, causing it to graze its shoulder.

They both pounce at him and he raises his wrist-blades to prepare for the onslaught.

He thrusts his wrist-blades into the one first to collide but does not fully stop its attack, tail whipping above its head to hit him hardly in his own, causing him to reel as he lets out a roar.

He is entirely open to the attack of the other beast which closes its jaws onto his neck and tears out his throat. Still standing, he uses the last of his strength to carve his wrist-blade through the body of the beast it is embedded in causing it to screech in pain. He moves his wrist-blade out and towards the one which is still biting into his neck, but at this point, his attack is weak, not even penetrating the carapace.

Blood flows from his neck. He falls to his knees and then on his back as the beast, the last alive, continues to consume him. Falling-Blade is dead.

You wonder what you should do about your mask’s recording.

>A. Whatever else he was, he was still a Stone-Hawk. You will keep the recording so it can be preserved in the clan annals under his name.
>B. A yautja like him doesn’t deserve to be remembered. You will delete the recording.

You doubt you have more than four hours of light. You know the shipmaster does not work after dark.

It’s been more than two weeks since your last hunt. You know it would be a breach of honor to hunt on a trial ground as a fully blooded hunter, but part of you wants to anyway. You wonder what to do.

>C. You will immediately make your way back to his ship and then to Stone-Hawk city.
>D. There is a good trophy to be had right in front of you. You will kill the beast above Falling-Blade’s corpse and then decide whether to continue to hunt or make your way back to his ship.

No need for trophies, but we shouldn’t leave his corpse as carrion for the black serpents.

Changing this >>2403854 to >>2403862

Because it is clearly stated that hunting here after having been blooded is a breech of honor. I'm guessing because it's easier than usual
>>
A and D wins. Will write post later today when I get back.
>>2404044
It's because this ground is cultivated specifically for unblooded to go through their trials, not for the already blooded to hunt.
And yes, that does mean that Falling-Blade sort of broke some rules coming here. Guess he didn't really care.
>>
>>2404082
Alright well the group has spoken. Good luck explaining the newest trophies
>>
Because this isn't an official hunt or mission this trophy will be more of a souvenir. Maybe we could give it to our brother.

Sorry, I've been really busy recently. I'll start the next thread with the options for how you want to take down this alien.

Will try to find a day to run a long session and update more regularly for next thread.
